Best greek food in south denver area and good service.

Great service, great atmosphere, great food, and great pricing. I'll definitely have to come back again and try other dishes! I tried the lunch special: Lamb Chop Greek Salad

My family went here the other night for my sisters birthday. She'd been here many times and insisted it was amazing. My husband and I met my family there and from the get go, everything was HORRIBLE. The hostess took our drink orders to try to help the server out. About 15 minutes later, the waitress finally appears seeming extremely annoyed only to tell us she needed our drink orders again. Ummm...ok. No need to be rude, lady. There were only 5 of us no I'm not sure why it took another 15 minutes for her to get our drink orders out to us. Once we finally did, she just walked away. Not asking if we were ready to order anything. We had to flag her down once our drinks were empty to even get her to pay attention to us. We feel so rude flagging her down, but she was seriously completely avoiding us. Once she finally made her way over, she took our order and was very unhelpful when answering questions about the menu. We ordered the sampler for our appetizer and she brought out a giant plate of three different dips with four...I repeat FOUR small triangles of peta bread...remember that one time when I mentioned that there were FIVE of us?! Yea....So, once we were able to track our waitress down again, we politely asked for some more pita. Once again she brought us another FOUR triangles. What the hell???? When she finally brought out our soups and salads, mine was covered in red onions after I had specifically asked for NO onions as I'm highly allergic. I mentioned it to her, but she just walked away because she clearly had no fucks to give. When she once again took her time coming back to us, we asked kindly for more pita bread and for some feta as they did not put any on any of our greek salads. So, she returns with a GIANT plate full of feta and yet again another 4 pieces of pita bread. Besides the HORRENDOUS service we received, I would say the food was slightly above fair. Nothing special about it. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, but either way I will never be stepping foot in this place again. For what they charge, you deserve to treated like an actual human being. Side note....when we got our bill, the waitress had charged us for all the "extra" pita bread we asked for. Seriously ridiculous.

If you want to be treated like a Greek God/Goddess, this is the place for you. I love supporting Small Local Businesses and OPA is a must try. The wait staff and Management is truly amazing, they care and it shows.. Staff and Owners know exactly how to treat their Customers and the food is to die for.. If I had to sum up my Family's dinner with one word it would be "OPA!!!!!!!"

Place was dead at lunch. Food was fast. Too fast. This was my first time here, but I won't be back. I ordered a gyro with fries. The gyro meat was meh. The sauce was premade and ordered in, probably from the Sysco truck parked outside, delivering to this place. The bread was stale. Kind of sad because I chose this place because I love gyros.

  • Elly S.

It's pretty good. It's kinda your standard Greek food- maybe kind of boring. The waitress told us that some of the food isn't made in-house, and I think you can tell. The service was really great, and the environment is nice. They have a nice patio outside to sit on.

Just retuned from an exceptional meal! We both ordered the gyro dinner combination plate. I personally was quite taken with the green bean side dish - tiny baby beans and carrot shards in a lite tomato glaze-delightful. Also on our plates were lemon rice and spanakopita, both perfectly complimented the tender delight that bought us here.....mouth watering gyros. I need to mention both the salad and the soup we're great....heres why ....the salad dressing perfectly portioned, not too much nor too little .The Avgolemon soup, (a chicken rice made delish by lemon) came in a nice sized bowl and was quite hearty - ofhers might prefer a thinner base but this was my dream version. Lastly , our server Meagan put a bow on the entire meal with her charming attitude and knowledge of the menu nuances.

I really enjoy coming here for lunch! I usually get the same thing (lemon chicken "sandwich") and it is consistently good. I've had the same server several times and she is always friendly and prompt. One thing I really love about this place that may sound silly is their French fries! I love when someone brings me a plate with fries that you know were cooked just for you--hot and crispy! I have also tried their lemon chicken soup, and although it wasn't what I was expecting, I loved it more than I expected! I don't think you can go wrong with this place; especially for a quick lunch!

  • Kelly B.

I pop over here for lunch when I can fit it in. I get the same meal every time because it's sooo delish! The gyro sandwich with fries and a side salad. I like to add the lettuce from the salad into my gyro along with the feta cheese. I keep meaning to take a picture to post it but I eat almost all of it before I remember to. Food comes out very hot and very fast. Friendly servers - don't be fooled by the tattoos. They also allow you to have your pups with you as you dine outside on the patio. As I frequently travel withy dog, this is very convenient for us. The only complaint I have- is that I've never seen the hostess smile. I've been in this industry for 7+ years and it was always important to smile and give a friendly welcome as you enter any establishment.. Other than that, great little place! The owner is wonderful and very funny if you have a chance to talk to him.

Been here twice - the first time I did take out and had a gyro - it was fantastic. 2nd time I took my husband for lunch - again had a gyro and it was so good - 1st time for hubby ever having a gyro and he loved it. Service was slow at first but our Order came out fast once placed. I will go back for sure!

  • Michelle M.

I've been here twice, and I'm a fan. The food is great, and the restaurant is easy to stop by for quick dinners. My husband and I particularly liked the hummus and pita bread appetizer, lemon rice soup, and the kabob platters. Their chicken and pork were deliciously seasoned. I also tried the gyro meal, and while the gyro itself was good the fries were a bit lacking compared to their traditional sides. You're better off going with one of the kabob platters.

My second visit to Opa was even better than the first. I enjoyed the special of the day which included gyros meat, spanakopita, a beet salad and some super-yummy salad made with puréed walnuts. The gyros meat was moist and flavorful. Opa Will be high on my list whenever I visit with Parker area

Stopped in for lunch and sat outside on the shaded patio. A cool breeze blowing between the buildings made it comfortable despite being a warm, sunny, summer's day. I ordered the eggplant sandwich without the bread. The eggplant was warm and yummy and came on bed of lettuce and tomatoes with a few triangles of feta cheese. I'm a big fan of eggplant so I often order it when it's available without breading. The sandwiches come with a side of french fries, salad, or lemon chicken rice soup. I opted for the soup, which wasn't the best I've ever had, but the flavors of lemon and chicken stood out. It had a bit too much rice and salt for my liking. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly. I would go back again. Plus, it's got a fun name. Opa!

I have been here a couple of times, and the food is pretty good! I have ordered by phone and taken it home both times. This time when I ordered I had a Greek Salad, a Gyros Sandwich, Steak Kabob, Hummus with Pita, a cup of soup and a Baclava.... I went to the bar, payed my tab and left. Unfortunately I didn't check the order, nor did I think to get a receipt. When I got home there was no Gyros Sandwich!?!? I called to see what we could do to come up with a solution.... I was passed around to a couple of people before speaking with someone that was familiar with my order. I once again explained my order and the issue I was having, and she proceeded to tell me that I didn't place the order for the Gyros Sandwich??? I specially recall ordering what I intended to have for dinner and I even got the side that went along with it. Also there was no Feta in my large Greek salad.... suppose it's my fault for not checking the order which the bags were tied in knots. Destroying those would make it difficult to get my order home!?!? Just not happy with their response and the way they handled the situation... This place is awfully expensive for what it is! And their tone was unnecessary.... Needless to say I will not be returning!

Not sure what happened but the quality of their food has really suffered. We were regulars and now we haven't been back in months.

Readers of ALL reviews for ALL businesses....I would say keep in mind that a person's perception creates the reality that they experience. Some people do NOT want to be happy with anything. They love to complain and play victim. That said...I have been to Opa Grill multiple times with my family, friends and just by myself. I have never been disappointed! Nor has anyone that I have been with. The food is delicious. The servers try hard....but one thing about restaurant staff....they try, but most people (not just peeps that work in restaurants).... Can't think themselves out of a box. I would say that is 95% of employees. Outside of assertive, educated CEO types and business owners. I don't say that to be mean....but really, a little understanding goes a long way. They do care....to the best of their ability. Like any restaurant or business. As far as the food...I love it! It is always fresh and tasty. Definitely not canned. You can't go wrong here. They are friendly, and the food rocks! Give them a try. Oh....and another thing about reviews on these review sites....I don't think the businesses "pad" the reviews or use email addy's to give themselves good reviews. I think that all businesses ask good customer's to review them. Nothing wrong with that. I really wish this country had fewer negative, Armageddon minded scrouges.

Delicious! Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Loved everything, especially the chicken and rice soup, gyro meat, green beans and baklava! Hannah was our waitress and was kind, efficient and attentive. We will be back for sure!

This food was amazing! I had the gyro platter and I was stuffed there was so much food. The others in my party feel exactly the same way. Don't miss a opportunity to enjoy this Greek treasure !

Cute joint. We love the salads and soup. Even the fries look good, though I can't vouch for them as I haven't tried them. Always a pleasant staff. Always a delicious meal. My favorite restaurant in Parker. Solid for dinner or lunch. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

  • Brooke N.

I am giving this four stars only because the service was awful.. The food every time I have been is amazing and consistent. I really do love this place and I always want to see Parker restaurants succeed. It appeared there were only two servers today and the one we had must not have wanted to work. She came over and took our order and then avoided us until she asked me," are you done?" And brought the check. I had to ask the hostess for more water and the other waitress was doing her best to keep an eye on everyone but it was too much for one person. Im in the service industry so I am very mindful of being busy and trying, or not trying and not doing your job. Today was a bad day for our girl, hopefully next time will be better, and I will be back because the food is so good!

I was excited that they had take out since I was starving and just wanted to get home and relax after a long day at work. It was dinner time and the place was dead, not a soul but me and the host/bar tender. I asked for my tzatziki sauce on the sandwich instead of on the side. The bartender said it only came on the side and asking for it on the sandwich might be an inconvenience. But she asked and the cook put it on the sandwich. She gave me the bill for $9 which I thought was a pretty good price for a sandwich, fries and a dinner salad. But then when she went to ring it up she said, "I charged you for the lunch instead of dinner so it will be $12 instead." Still not a bad price lol, just convenient that it was my first time here and obviously dinner time....but perhaps she'd also had a long day. The dinner was good. I think I could get the same type of sandwich at a Rubio's for a little less. But it's convenient and I've wanted to try this place for a while. Just need a little tightening up of the customer service. Next time we might try dining in.

We have been coming here for years and we love this place! The owner has come out several times with a new recipe for us to try. I love how much he cares about his restaurant and his patrons.

Should be 3.5 stars, only because of cost. Food is great. Chef really knows what they are doing. Salad dressing is perfect, gyros are delicious. Never had a bad meal. It is too much money for the food by 15-20%. Check your Togo order before you leave. Service is great.

  • Blake H.

We carry out from Opa Grill a couple times each month. We love their gyro sandwich, which on the dinner menu comes with fries and a side Greek salad. The meat is always flavored perfectly, the pita bread is hot and buttery, and the salad fresh. Our only complaints are that the fries are soggy - you might want to ask them for crisp fries - and that the salad is inconsistent. Sometimes it comes with a triangle feta block, other times it doesn't. Sometimes it comes with cucumbers, other times it doesn't. Notwithstanding the small inconsistencies in food, the flavors are always spot on. This is a great option in North Parker.

Fabulous wait staff was very attentive. Wish they offered a couple more traditional Greek items, but it's not bad. More of Greek-American style than mama Sophia's traditional Greek style. My Greek salad with gyros was amazing as was the fresh pita bread. However, I felt that the "Kebobs" weren't actually grilled over a fire for that fabulous Souvlaki traditional flavor. They were like pre-cooked then seared on a flattop. Loss of a star. While the Saganaki was delicious, it was a rather small portion. Their side dish of rice was way over cooked and mushy as were the green beans. Loss of another star. C'mon folks! It's not hard to make this food! I'd like to see more authentic fire-grilled vegetables like zucchini and squash with eggplant and onions and tomatoes! THAT is how great Greek food should be! Not this soggy slop that came on our plates. See photos. I will say that the only terrific food we had was the gyro meat with tzaziki, the pita bread and the salads.

  • Shayla B.

I used to come here all the time and it was so good! What happened?? No falafel?! It's a Greek place lol. And my pork loin sandwich was so disappointing, it had like 3 cubes of pork. I'm no huge lady but I wanted to stop at Taco Bell after! My bf could probably eat 5 of them, no joke. Not to mention, They assumed I was taking my food to go and I wasn't, so I just sat there and ate my food out of the box. No one said anything to me about it, but I already feel awkward eating out alone and that made it way worse. No credit card machine, which sucks also. And she asked if I wanted onions and tomato on my sandwich and then didn't put any on there or offer to bring any after she saw me eating it. Ugh... I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Their food was amazing! This is one of my new favorite places. As other reviews stated the wait is a little long so make sure you're not starving when you arrive. Everything was delicious from start to finish, service was great, setting was very nice. I look forward to my next visit.

The gyro sandwich was good. A little bit pricey though. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a nice family run greek restaurant. The service is nice and the food was good. I will return.

    (3)
  • Delta B.

A bit expensive for lunch. $12 for gyro, small salad or fries, and a coke (+tip) . Same thing at a gyro stand or fast food interface would be more like $6. I'm sure much of the extra is sunken into the location and service so I'm not upset about it. Kronos gyro meat is consistently good, so I'm very happy with the food quality. Salad veggies weren't cut very well (I got 1/4 of a large tomato and 3 thick partially sliced pieces of Cucumber... Atleast they were fresh!). Not a big deal, perhaps I can get a discount next time for cutting my own veggies though. Meal showed signs of quality ingredients and had great flavor. Owner/manager was making the rounds so they obviously care about customer service and satisfaction. All in all, a bit pricey but well done. I will likely be back.

Okay, let's start by saying that I love the food here. The saganaki (imported melted Greek cheese flamed with brandy) is delicious. Their pita bread, hummus, tzatsiki, and tirokaftiri are also very good, with attractive presentations and decent portions. What I tend to find lacking is the service. You're hard pressed to get refills, the food sometimes takes up to 40 minutes to come out, and the servers generally seem rushed and distracted. They are always genuinely nice and apologetic about this, but of the 10 or so times that I've visited for lunch, there isn't a whole lot of difference in service. (Which is strange, because besides the owners, I don't know if I've ever seen the same server there twice). All in all, the food is worth it, if you have a little time to spare to wait.

    (3)
  • J R.

Service is great!! Friendly and on top of it. Food was really good. Gyro meat was very tender and delicious! Puta bread was wonderful. I'm a sucker for a good gyro! I thought it was a little pricy ($11.99 for a gyro sandwich and fries) but with great service it's worth it.

    (5)
  • Kevin H.

CONSIDERABLY better than I was expecting. Was worried that I was walking into a gyro and fries joint. Their menu goes way beyond this. QUALITY offerings. THANK YOU!

  • Lauren W.

The staff was friendly and the restaurant itself is cute and kept clean. The food was alright. The Greek taste is interesting so I wasn't a huge fan of the food. I had the Gyro platter and the meat was good and I like the vegetables as well, but the rice was a bit bland. Not bad.

  • Kim M.

Great little Greek restaurant in Parker. Staff is friendly, service is good and fast. Food is delicious. Ask for the lemon rice soup-soooo good and a take out staple in the cold winter months!

Best Baklava I've found in S Denver.! Very moist, lots walnuts, honey, cinnamon, and a touch of clove. See yelp pic. Friendly owners, indoor and outdoor seating option. I've only had the Baklava. Will come back to try the food.

  • Donna O.

Food was great but the service was not good. We ordered appetizers and never got them after requesting them twice. Our server never came back to check on us we had to flag her down.

    (2)
  • Brandy P.

Great food! The baklava is out of this world delicious. The bartenders are a little slow at taking notice to a customer when they come in to sit at the bar how ever I waited 10 min for a menu and they tried to give me a to go order. I guess they assumed I had ordered to go. Other then that the food is so worth it though.

  • Joe B.

I like Opa. Eat there regularly. My favorite dish is the large Greek salad with euro and dressing on the side. They always provide lots of the euro meat. Another dish I recommend to friends who join me and that haven't eaten there before is the sampler appetizer dish. They really need to allow more paper towel to dispense in the men's room and upgrade that stupid push button faucet that you have to hold down with one hand while you rinse the other. Other than that I love going there.

    (5)
  • Wendi E.

Opa! One of my favorite Parker lunch spots. The owner is really great, he even taught me a few dance moves to use in my Zumba class. I always get the Lemon Herb Chicken Sandwich with fries. The hummus is excellent and their pita is always warm and a little buttery. They always give me extra tzatziki sauce when I ask and we've always had great service. Sometimes it's hard to find a place where a group of 5 can get in and out in under an hour during lunch, but we always do. The place is usually packed, it's rare when there are only a few tables filled.

    (4)
  • Joe R.

Decided to have a beer at opa grill while I waited for my haircut. I waited ten minutes for anyone to pay attention to me at their tiny bar with no other customers waiting, then another ten minutes to pay my tab, in cash, which they couldn't break my $20, so I paid with card finally. I tipped a dollar on my three dollar bill, and added a memo on the receipt that the place "sucked". The server then came and found me at the sports clips next door and started cursing at me, told me to say that to his face, and tried to start a fight. Most obnoxious experience ever

Oh boy! SO GOOD! Love their Avgolemono Soup (chicken, rice, egg and lemon). It is delicious. Their Gyros are great. The pork loin sandwhich and their marinated top loin pork sandwhichs are awesome. The feta cheese is great, much better than anything you can get at the supermarket. The Opa Combo is delicious and so is their Spanakopita. Love their Retsina wine. And to end the meal with a bang the Bougatsa (Lemon custard funnel cake with powdered sugar!) is a crazy good dessert. Great service, great restaurant. Love it. Opa!!!

I wish I knew how to do a half star because I am discounting a half star becuase service was slow . However our waitress did apologize. I am actually almost a 4 but not quite The hummus and pita quarters were very tasty and gone before our main meals arrived. I said service was slow. . I had a Greek salad.with shrimp which was on special for 9.99 The shrimp were done perfectly. My husband had a pita sandwich. with yummy fries. My salad had a bit too much dressing so next time I will ask for it on the side. I will have the chunky Greek salad on my next visit. The food on other tables looked very appetizing. The flaming cheese dish was not as cool during the day but the people at the next table polished it off in no time. I was so full but I would have liked to try the Baklava. Sounds pretty delicious.

I have to admit, my only consistent Greek food experience is Park Meadows Mall food court, so I like Greek but I'm not an expert on the cuisine. Did a to-go order last night and was delighted. "Heather" took my order and was helpful and friendly. I picked it up after about 15 min and it was ready at the bar for me. A first-timer, so I ordered some standard items to give it a good compare: Gyro Sandwich Hummus Feta Cheese & Olives Chicken, Lemon, Rice Soup I thought the gyro was really flavorful. Great meat (lots) and fresh bread. I make my own hummus, so it better be good. And it was good and there was much rejoicing (yea). The Feta and Olives were salty good as they should be. The soup was a surprise. I make a cream of wild rice soup and this was a close proximity. Nicely done. I think the lemon in the title threw me off as it's not a sour soup. All in all, great experience, We will come back and dine-in sometime. Really glad to have a Greek restaurant in Parker.

Outstanding Greek food. Gyros were filling and delicious. Baklava was big and just the right sweetness. Outstanding service. Definitely will come pack.

I had a Greek salad with salmon on top and you get pita with tziziki sauce for dipping. This is the best Greek salad I have ever had. It was a mixture of greens with sliced (not crumbled) feta which tasted better than usual feta. It included a stuffed grape leaf, tomatoes, red onions and kalamata olives. The pita was so different from your usual restaurant or grocery store type; it was lighter, tastier and not dry at all. The dessert was a warm round pastry filled with lemon custard and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was great. We went on a Sunday and there was no wait and the service was fine. We will be going back to try dinner.

Everything was great! Love the gyro and the grape leaves with the fresh lemon and oil are killer. I'd love to see the experience refined a bit, but everything including the staff was great!

Great food! We love the skordalia and gyros! Service is always hit and miss. Last time we had great service from Ross but the girls in there are always distracted and chatty. Also, there were a couple times that they smelled like cigarette smoke... not appetizing! Overall a great place to get a quick and casual meal thats tasty!

Visiting from California for a softball tournament. My daughter and I had an early dinner there on a Tuesday night and it was very good food and big portions. Would definitely go back. Service was super friendly too.

Based on my to-go experience, this place is really really good. I can't imagine it getting any better. I'm already figuring out my next visit to Opa Grill.... and who will I will invite to share in this great tasting Greek food. I only came here initially cause it's close to my job and I'm so tired of to-go meals from Chipolte, Red Robin, etc... I was excited to see Greek as an option in Parker, but somewhat hesitant when I saw less than 4 stars on Yelp! I read the Yelp reviews and was happy to be able to review the menu 1st before my visit. Veggie plate. Check. On arrival, I was greeted by the owner (seemed like the owner?). I told him I had to take my order to-go and proudly ordered the "Athenian Veggie Plate" as if I had it hundreds of times. Plus a Baklava (why not?). My sweetie ordered a "Gyros ...with rice ...and uh.. beans" (he apparently had not reviewed the menu options -- but the owner made it work..."ahh.. yes, green beans, no problem"). We both had choice the Chicken-Lemon-Rice soup or Greek Salad. We both opted for salads. In the car ride to work, I peaked into the styrofoam containers and was very pleased with the presentation within. One large box to contain a fresh looking salad with kalamata olives, feta, etc... Second box housed my warmed pita bread (I think the bread belonged to sweetie but I kept it anyways). Third box with nicely arranged stuffed grape leaves on a bed of lettuce with a generous helping of hummus. Fourth box with my triangle of Spinach pie, rice, green beans and potatoes. Fifth (and last) box with a huge slice of Baklava. I never suspected the Baklava would be this good... a bit different from what I'm used to. I want more.

I ordered food for myself and co workers today. I was hoping there would be more food for the price but we all got just enough I suppose. over all I think it was all good just wish there were a bit more. No one else had complaints other than the price and its like no other Mediterranean restaurant we've ever had before.

I had a very solid salmon salad there yesterday and some really good pita and tzatziki. The salmon was lightly blackened and grilled and served over a Greek salad. What a great place for a quick lunch with a nice staff in Parker.

This is my go-to while at work. The co-workers and I split some sampler platters and salads. I could dine on this all day! Only ever had take-out so can't speak for service. Weird interior, could use some updating, but great food from what I've had.

When I crave a gyro in Parker this is always a good choice. Little pricey after tip, but for $10 nothing out of ordinary price for lunch.

I don't know why the reviews about this place have been so negative - while Opa didn't blow my mind, everything was solidly good. My family and I ordered the flaming cheese appetizer to share which was lit table side by our very friendly and genial server. It was yummy, yummy! I ordered a gyros sandwich with a salad for the main course. It's hard to really mess up a gyro, but this was above average - the slices of meat were thick and the meat wasn't crunchy or overcooked as sometimes can be. The decor was very nice inside the restaurant and they aren't afraid to run the A/C - something I very much appreciated given that it was over 100 degrees outside that day. Pretty much the only negative was that someone was a little too heavy-handed with the oil in the oil and vinegar mix on the salad. This place is definitely worth a try if you are in the Parker area.

Stopped in on a Sunday evening from out of town and had trouble finding it with GPS (It is right next to discount tire) Once there, it was relatively quiet (as was the whole area since the shops had closed) so I did not know what to expect. After trying the spanokopita, I knew that the menu items were not just haphazardly put together and I would be in for a treat. Great service coupled with great food made this a place to bookmark for me.

DELICIOUS!!!! This is about the best gyro I ever had. Price is acceptable. Portion is not huge so if you have a big stomach one portion might not be enough. All of the ingredients is super fresh and made from scratch. Service is friendly. I highly recommend it.

I so wanted to write a terrific review about this place because the appetizers were really good but it was not to be. My main dinner dish (Opa Sampler Plate - with Pastisio, Moussaka and Gyro meat) was fair at best. Way too much Béchamel sauce on both the Pastisio and Moussaka (they were drowning in it) and both were burned in places and bland in the rest. The Pastisio had hardly any pasta in it and the Moussaka had hardly any eggplant in it. The Gyro meat simply wasn't as good as it could have been. I've had better from pushcart vendors on the streets of the Bronx. The Greek vegetables on the dinner plate, too, were bland. The salad vegetables were crisp and the tomatoes firm but the Greek dressing was bland. Ironically, the appetizer sample plate was wonderful. The Dolmas were very tasty. The Tzatziki Dip was great. The Spicy Feta was among the best I've had. Pitas were that right combination of slightly crunchy in places with a nice chew. Hummas was good. The server, a teenage girl, was friendly, polite, efficient and a good combination of absent and present. We had to remind her to refill our glasses but she got right too it. After a disappointing main dinner, we didn't want to even try the desserts. It's a shame, too, because I love Baklava. But, at $6.00 a slice, I didn't want that heartburn either. This place could be really outstanding but it's just "meh." There's no excuse for burned food anytime. I would give it 2-1/2 stars for the service and the appetizers but there's no way to give a 1/2 star on this site.

Visited 4/25/12... This is a nice little place for Greek. Visited for lunch. Had a simple Gyro, fries and salad. Food was fresh and good. Gyro was packed with meat and everything tasted very good. This is another nice place for a change in menu that Parker has available. Although waitress was very friendly, she was a little inattentive. Service tip.... A water glass, ice tea glass or soda glass should never run empty!! If you are only going to serve small glasses full of ice and a little beverage, then you need to take the time to keep the glass full. Otherwise, serve in bigger glasses. Or leave a pitcher or craft on the table so the patron can refill. There is no excuse in restaurant business to be so busy that you cannot keep drinks filled. It was lunch hour. You should be prepared for this. Probably would have given the 4 star if not for this.

This is a great casual restaurant with great Greek food. We love the Sampler Appetizer and Gyros. The place to get your Greek on in Parker.

Great vegetarian options. Spanakopita is amazing and so is the humus! Everything tasted fresh. They have an outdoor patio that's really nice for lunch on a warm day. I was not a huge fan of the baklava but it's not bad.

The staff will go out of their way to make you feel at home and the salad with salmon is fantastic!! It has become part of our Tuesday night routine.

One of our favorite places to eat in Parker. We always get the sampler platter appetizer with extra pita and a gyro to split. Huge amount of food and too yummy not to eat until you're stuffed. Love it!

I would give Opa Grill five stars except for one thing: the drinking water they serve tastes like dish water! The food, on the other hand, is excellent. If you like beets (or even if you don't), start out with the panzaria. The avgolemono soup, another Greek staple, is very good, as are the tzatziki and hummus. For an entree, I usually order the Greek lunch or the Greek salad. I've never ordered the baklava because $5.99 seems a bit steep, but if I do try it I'll update this review. As other reviewers have noted, the service can be a bit spotty (I've even heard arguments emanating from the kitchen at times), but overall this is a friendly place with good food. If only they'd serve potable water I'd increase the review from four stars to five stars.

Had the craving for a real awesome Chicago-style Gyro tonight, I popped into Opa for some love. The lady told me it would take about 4 minutes for my gyro meal and charged me $14 for a diet coke, gyro, fries and a salad. The price was high, but I needed to satiate my craving. Roughly 4 minutes later, as promised, my order was set down in front of me. The gyro was underwhelming in size, and the gyro meat lacked any texture. It was obvious that the meat had been sliced off the rotator and straight onto the pita bread. This my friends is not how you do it. The meat needs to be roasted ever so lightly on a pan first, to give it that slight edge of crisp texture. Between the high price, low quality, small amount of food (for said price), I've decided that next time, I'll take my gyro cravings elsewhere.

3 1/2 stars. The gyro salads are good, so far some other options have been disappointing. They have a lemon-rice soup that is very good as well as the spicy feta as an app. Recently tried the flaming cheese app which was fun and pretty tasty. They actually have a bunch of good apps. Also the Baklava was above average. Nice people, will return.

I was absolutely impressed with this place and would definitely make the drive to come back again (and again!). By looking at the menu, the prices were very reasonable and I expected almost a fast food type place. When I walked in, it was extremely nice, and welcoming. There is a nice patio outside as well. The wait staff was so friendly, trying to engage with my two year old (which not all do!). We ordered the gyros, and from the meat, to the sauce (I won't try to spell it) to the warm grilled pita bread, it was incredible! My mom (who will only frequent an authentic Greek restaurant in Denver because nothing else compares, and who is incredibly picky!) was very impressed with Opa as well. I will definitely come back!

A friend recommended this plae and we tried it for the first time tonight. We ordered a greek combination plate to share and my husband ordered the lemon/chicken/rice soup. Both dishes were very good. The atmosphere is more european - which we like - with tablecloths and fabric napkins ... nice music too. The owner came to our table and asked how we liked our meal - you seldom have that happen in other restaurants. We also liked the fact that the service was not rushed ... We will definitely go back and recommend this place to our friends.

My husband and I just had lunch. First time so we stuck to the basics. The Greek Salad was very good, the gyro sandwich was excellent (tasty, tender and moist just like fresh gyro meat should be). The tzatziki sauce was outstanding. Baklava was different -- probably not my favorite -- but still good. Outstanding service., Will be back.

The food and service were good. Had the greek salad with chicken. It was a nice portion size for lunch.

I had a good gyro and some bad (zero flavor) soup. Owner was quite friendly. The restaurant was still doing some remodeling (which was loud and annoying), but should look nice when complete.

  • Brian S.

I agree with a lot of the postings about this place. Everything is juuuust a little bit off for a greek restaurant, namely the atmosphere and menu (fries w/ gyro?). The quality of the food was impressive for a strip-mall restaurant, and the service was warm and paced well between apps, salads and entree. So the variety and authenticity of the greek-ness is a bit off from the Denver staple (Jeruselems), but the service is better and less crowded. We just need to all request that they deliver...

I've eaten at Opi's quite a few times now and very much enjoyed their food. The restaurant is relaxed, the tables aren't crammed together and the background music is unobtrusive. We enjoy a very reasonably priced meal here and am happy to see a place in Parker where I can finally get my regular Saganaki fix :)

Awesome! Had the gyro and a salad for $8, and it definitely satisfied my gyro craving. I had been going to Park Meadows mall for gyros, and for the same price I got more food and a better gyro. This place is very classy (as small as it is), and they have a good-sized bar with a large wine selection. The people here are super nice too, very considerate and easy to talk to. I was the only one there at the time, but the staff made me so comfortable that I was able to take my time and really enjoy my meal, on top of having a few interesting conversations with them. I didn't get to try the baclava, but I've heard it's really good. Definitely looking forward to my next visit!

The sad truth of Opa Grill is they did not care. They didn't care about the horrible canned peas placed on the plate, at least use frozen peas. They didn't care to make sure the menus were clean. They didn't care to sweep the floors. They didn't care to refill my coffee more than once. They didn't care to cook the food as ordered, my gyro meat was way over cooked. My wife's Gyro was, ok. The kid's grilled cheese, for my son lacked luster, I'm not sure how you mess up a grilled cheese. They didn't care to charge a reasonable price for the food. They simply didn't care to care about our food, our service and our future business.

  • Ann M.

We hve been to Opa many times, the service is always outstanding and the food is really good with the exception of the canned peas. Hopefully they can change that . The kabobs are always good, served with Basmiti rice as it should be. The tirokafteri is to die for, so so yummy! The moussaka is great, always one of my favorites. We keep going back as the only place that equals it in Denver is Pete's Greek Town, and it is just too far away.

It's nice to have options in the Parker area. The gyros are pretty good, the service good and the ouzo...well, ouzo is ouzo and boy does it flow here. :-)

I feel bad giving this place such a low rating because the owner was super, super nice to me. I ordered the grape leaves appetizer, and he filled the rest of my take-out container with fresh, chopped veggies and gave me a free container of chicken soup. But it was just horrible. For just under $7, I got five small dolmades. They were clearly from a can. The inside was mushy, flavorless, and soaked in oil. The veggies were...veggies. The tadziki was a chunky and bland. There was only a little bit, so I was able to dip about 5 veggie pieces in it. The chicken soup was slightly sour, but the chicken was tender and not dry. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I was extremely disappointed.

The best way to describe this place is 'OK'. The location, decor, service, prices and food all OK. I am not an expert on Greek food, but I did go to college in Michigan so I have been to plenty a Coney Island to grab some cheap Greek fast food. And that's really more of what this place is. You can get a gyro and fries and it tastes a lot like Greek food truck food and then you can almost light yourself on some fried cheese set on fire (OPA!). Unfortunately in college I was usually drunk so I didn't care what the quality of the food was. At the Opa grill everyone is sober, and everything looks and tastes much worse when you are sober. One thing that really left a bad taste in my mouth was that our server was clearly new (an older woman stood behind her anytime she came to our table). She took our order and we said thank you and then the woman training her very rudely and with way too much anger given the situation corrected her for not asking us if we wanted a salad. I get that many places have a policy where they ask all their customers if they want to add something on but after working retail for 10 years I can tell you that tone will get you no where in selling. Plus the girl was clearly new a nicer tone and a little less negative reinforcement not only would have helped the server learn but also wouldn't have made me feel so uncomfortable. While there aren't a ton of choices for food in Parker this is one of the last places I would pick to go back to.

Headline: Lunch: Is it take-out or restaurant? Identity Crisis! My wife and I hit this place since it is relatively new for lunch on Saturday. This has been a BBQ joint and a burger joint - neither were too successful, but there aren't an abundance of greek places, so we had hopes for this. They haven't done much to the space - it's high ceilings and relatively sparse surroundings give the restaurant a sterile feel. Traditional greek music over the speakers and two televisions doing sports give the place a disjoint flavor. There is a small bar for the dinner crowd. We started with melted kasseri cheese that is flamed with brandy. It was ok - they import the cheese, so at least it is the right cheese, and crispy gooey melty cheese is always good. The appetizer was enough for two. At the main course, the split personality took hold. I ordered a Gyro Pita - which comes with french fries (not greek at all) - I asked for a substitution, and got their soup instead. The soup was a thick almost creamy consistency with rice and chicken and a pleasant broth flavor. The gyro pita had flavorful meat, but it was stuffed in a paper wrapper? Seriously? I'm eating in a restaurant, not Burger King! The tsatziki sauce was not a sauce, but rather a thick goopy thing. It was supplied in one of those take-out ramikins with a plastic lid. Again - I'm eating in, not taking out! It had no real flavor, and definitely didn't remind me of any tzatsiki sauce I've had elsewhere (except Daphnes, which isn't a good comparison). My wife got a greek salad with pork tenderloin skewers. The weed salad (err - mixed greens salad) came adorned with the usual greek salad fair, including two big hunks of one of the more flavorful fetas I've experienced. As with my entree, instead of doing a nice job behind the scenes of dressing the salad, they chose to provide those little take-out ramekins of salad dressing, making for a greasy mess. Overall, a disappointment. It's ok - nothing spectacular. I'd give it a miss for lunch. By the looks of the reviews, dinner is much better. They primarily need to decide if the eat-in guests are going to be treated like take-out customers.

This place is pretty good. The first time I had it to go and the food was great and service friendly. The second time we ate inside and the food was still good but service was a little off. The hummus is very tasty and I enjoyed the salad as well.

Great food, excellent service - very prompt and they were very friendly. Loved this place. Not sure why others complained about the french fries since the restaurant does say "Greek and American" on the outside. Had the combo plate which was a lot of food - brought home as much as I ate. All very tasty. We will definitely go back.

Pleasant surprise in Parker. We will frequent this place after eating here once. Quality of food is high. Greek dressing is great as is the gyro platter and pork kabobs (souvlaki). Always looking for good Greek food in Denver area and we have found it in Parker.

I had the gyro lunch special with a greek side salad and it was fantastic. The service, I assume owners, were so friendly and nice. The pita bread was out of this world. I only wish it were closer to my house.

Dropped in for lunch and was more than pleasantly surprised. The service is great as we were seated right away and drinks were ordered. When the drinks (ice tea and diet Coke) came we ordered. Both of us ordered the gyro which came with both lamb and beef. It was delicious. I will return to try other fare but if the gyro is any indication, this is going to be a great place to get tasty Greek food!

I'm a fan of great greek places and Opa Grill in Parker is no exception. I usually visit a few times a month with people from work and I love their Gyro's and salad. If you go make sure to get the Saganaki appetizer. You won't be sorry!

My expectations were set pretty low because I've had a difficult time finding good Greek food in CO so I was so pleasantly surprised when I bit into the best gyro I've ever had. The meat just melted in my mouth, the tzatziki was nice and thick and the pita was soft and warm. My husband had a steak sandwich and it was good, but I recommend the lamb! Great fries and salad and reasonable prices. The portion was very appropriate. I'm looking forward to going back to try something else on the menu.

So refreshing to have something other than a pizza joint, mexican or oriental in Parker!!! This place has wonderful food, great space, wonderful location and is close to our house! The gyros are something I could live on, and I plan on going back for their cheese dish that they light on fire and say OPA to... Wish I could give it more stars, but sadly I can't! IT IS GREAT FOOD!!! And their staff is very friendly and helpful with everything on the menu!

Good food at a reasonable price. Had a gyro and a side salad which everything was very fresh. Owner was very friendly both times we were there (once for lunch & once for dinner). If looking for a casual place with friends, this is a good option. After all it's Parker, not down town Denver.

Was there the first day they opened and have never been disappointed. Classic Greek cooking my old friend from Greece made from her family recipes. Excellent Spanakopita and Baklava! ofCourse they have the Greek fast food Gyro that is always a cant miss. Other postings complain getting Fries but they now offer other options including a small Greek salad with no up charge, a cant miss because the Greek dressing is done right purely authentic, you rarely find Greek dressing done properly. Good range of menu choices from Kabobs to a great Pastitio, it isn't just Greek they hit the whole Mediterranean regions. For friends who want American they offer the usual burgers and fish n chips. Ownership and staff are excellent and always attentive and remember you. Since they opened the owner has made allot of changes over time to bring in a more warm ambiance to the place. Good to see more small business restaurants other than the chain restaurants.

Just tried this new restaurant in Parker. After we had already ordered I noticed everyone around me ordering the same thing. The moussaka is apparently really good. We had the lemon soup, gyros, lamb and spanakopita. It was all delicious, but I'm not a big fan of spanakopita with that much spinach and not much cheese. Overall good food and great service. I hope they make it since that hasn't been a lucky location. It's a casual family atmosphere.

we love this place - Parker is short on nice ethnic restaurants so it's a great lil gem to find this place. Everything we have ordered, right now to the chicken nuggets in the kids' menu tasted real good so you can hardly go wrong with the flavour and taste. The creme de la creme is of course, their homemade baklava - the best i have tasted here, it reminds me of the real stuff in Mykanos and Athens. I wish they have a more extensive menu, and reduce the price a little - the place is clean and presentable but could do with a little more imaginative decor. For a new restaurant, thumbs up on effort and real good food - they need more clientele and support to survive the restaurantt business in Parker - that we we can all have a more varied choice of eating places and not just the chain restaurants you find everywhere.

The owner is so friendly. The rest of the wait staff is not great...very friendly, but slow and forgetful. The food has been stellar and consistent every single time which keeps us coming back.

Our service was good. My second trip back, I decided to try the chicken kabobs. The flavor of the marinade they use wasn't to my liking (odd) and they were very greasy for kabobs. My plate came with basmati rice, which I didn't particularly care for, and "veggies". When the plate arrived, the "veggies" was actually a pile of peas with a few bits of artichoke amongst some other unidentifiable mixins. I've never been a pea person. I hate peas. I've never seen a restaurant serve peas for their veggies. My Greek salad was okay, but my husband's chicken soup stuff (forgot the name) was pretty gross IMO. His Spanakopita was not really my cup of tea either, but then I guess this is the first time I've tried it so I don't really have anything to compare it to at another restaurant. I usually like spinach and feta but I didn't care for it together I guess. The Tzatziki was kinda blah but the pitas wedges were good. Our service was good but I don't think we'll be back.

Finding a good Greek restaurant anywhere is a hard thing but ESPECIALLY in Parker, CO. I thought this restaurant is AMAZING. Huge servings/ hand cut gyro meat/ amazing Greek casseroles. I think it's odd that the main complaint about the place is that gyros are served with french fries. It clearly states outside it's Greek/ American cuisine. If you want a great catch for Greek food- this is the place for you!

We stopped in for dinner the other night and could not believe the mound of food for reasonable prices. We're planning on ordering takeout often. Terrific food, and the owner is very personable. We'll be back many times.

I couldn't wait for this place to open. But I was a little disappointed. The menu is pretty limited. We went for dinner, but I felt the lamb was too pricey, so I ordered a Gyro which came with french fries. It was good, but I would probably stick to eating lunch here and not dinner.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city.
