Just moved here and one of the things I miss are donuts! We went to dinner on Main, and while walking to our car smelled the glory from outside Winchell's, so we had to stop. The donuts were average but very fresh and the place was clean. One complaint, I drove by here many times, but thought they didn't really sell donuts because all of the posters in the windows are of deli sandwiches and smoothies! I thought they were just one of those places that uses donuts for the buns or something. Or that they were a sandwich shop that just happened to have a few donuts too. Which would be gross.

I showed up at 8:45 on a Sunday night after driving twelve miles to get here, only to find all the lights off and the doors locked despite the sign that says "Open 24 hours". I got back in my car and called the store. On the fourth ring, someone answered finally, slurring and groggy so he was either sleeping or passed out drunk in the back. Wtf, Winchell's?

Open 24 hours. Average donuts. Gross coffee. But hey it works at 3am and if you take a sip with every bite the donut pretty much masks the taste and you still get the buzz ....

I go more for the delicious lunch sandwiches but the doughnuts are just as good. It's a nice little joint not to far from my wife's work where we can have lunch together.

These donuts are fairly average. However, they are the best ones Longmont has. The family of owners are great, friendly.

Came in and had the egg, cheese and sausage sandwich on croissant. Very good. Also enjoyed sitting in their shop. They give out a local green guide that connected me to wonderful things in the area. Food and info were both great, will stop in again!

I love the place. The best donuts around they have a lot of variety and the best part it's open 24/7. Really friendly workers I would definitely recommend if your looking for a mid night snack.

We live in Old Town and just love these donuts. Staff is friendly, place is clean, and we love the retro vibe. I've had their breakfast sandwiches on bagels before which are very good! Our absolute hands down favorite are the maple glazed donuts, they are so amazing!! We've gotten them in the morning and in the afternoon, and while the afternoon donuts are delicious, the morning donuts are addictive and heavenly! Hubby just bought a dozen...so dangerous to have in the house!! Yummmmmm

I'm not a big donut person but I came in here with the wife and kids on a whim. Service was fast and very friendly, and the donuts are 100% legit. Very very good. Interior and exterior of the place is showing its age and needs a remodel, which made it not the most pleasant environment, but still worth hitting up especially if they are open 24 hours.

It feels like stepping back into a decade long-passed. Tasty donuts. Five stars if the filling had been a bit more consistent throughout the donut. That said, delicious anyway. Friendly folks to boot.

Great location in downtown Longmont. They've been in business since 1942 so apparently they are doing something right. We got the glazed donuts with a coffee ice cream cone in hand. Good stuff.

I had been on an anti donut kick for too long. Welcome back Winchells. After going to Voodoo Donut on Colfax around two weeks ago and getting a great donut from someone whom I was certain, honestly, hates everyone in the world, I was longing for a great donut from great people. I have been back to Winchells on main 3 times since. I love crullers. I love them a whole lot. I usually go in pretty late though. This means I miss out on the awesomeness of the chocolate glazed cruller. Settling for a chocolate glazed old fashioned is not a letdown at all. Crispy outside. Soft inside and chocolate coated in the nooks and crannies of the split top. Perfect. The people who run the place are incredibly nice and genuine and if you see the owner at the gym, he is always the best choice for a spotter as he is yoked as hell. Good donuts. Great people.

Fantastic service, great food, and don't get my started on the doughnuts!! I live just down the road from Winchell's and it's the only place in my mind to get breakfast. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you choose your flavor of the day. Food always tastes fresh and it keeps me coming back. Winchell's in a word.... YES.

Don't get the donuts if it's late at night. Both times I've been there late the donuts tasted like cardboard coated with some sort of plaster sugar concoction, probably because they'd been sitting there for hours and hours (if not days). I couldn't even finish two bites. Nasty!

They have donut holes! This is a great way to feel like a kid again! I love the donut connoisseurs...seriously? It is a donut place and they aren't frozen before frying like disgusting grocery store donuts. What more do you want? Being athletic and conscientious about what I consume, I rarely eat donuts so perhaps my taste buds aren't honed in like they would be if I were lackadaisical about what I put into my body. For a once every six months treat, the donut holes are the way to go. Yum.

I got a lemon filled donut with no filling. A place that specializes in donuts should be able to add filling to a donut correctly. My wife said she had better donuts from a grocery store.

Not only are the doughnuts fantastic, but the service is exceptional. This morning I left my wallet under a stack of newspapers, and 3 hours later while doing yard work they brought it back to my house!!! Thank goodness for wonderful honest people, and a drivers license with my address. We will be forever customers now. Thank you again winchells in Longmont!

I'm from the east coast, a.k.a., the Dunkin' Donuts coast. Winchell's kind of pales in comparison to DD, but it is nice to have a donut shop right in downtown Longmont. Word of warning: the coffee is really, really bad.

I am a huge fan of donuts, in general. Winchell's in general really ranks up there in my list. But this review is about this specific Winchell's in Longmont on Main. I've always gotten extremely friendly service every time I go in. Donuts are always fresh, and so is the coffee. Usually I just grab my donuts and coffee, and head out to where ever I am going. But this weekend I was showing off downtown Longmont to my fam, so we decided to sit and eat our donuts before taking off for a walk around the town. I am a huge fan and go there often, but I agree that it sometimes seems "dead" when I drive by. Sitting there on Saturday, though, I could see they get TONS of business! The whole time we were there, there was a steady stream of customers getting donuts to go. It was super busy, and that made me happy. It is a fun and yummy place to go for donuts, and I love that its in such a fun location, too!
