A relatively new place, JP's has an attractive-looking dining room and a beautiful cascading waterfall set up in the back of the room. I dined here twice with family. Had the sesame chicken the first time and a plate of sushi the second. The food goes down well and tastes quite good. Unfortunately...and I'm not sure how to say this nicely, but it comes up almost as well. Wife and I had some sushi there recently and both became ill. She was violently ill that night to the point where she was in the bathroom off and on until the sun came up the next day. I was not nearly as bad off, but I could feel my stomach was doing something it shouldn't. It felt like there was a microscopic soccer team practicing somewhere inside me. Okay I can joke about it now but believe me, it wasn't funny that night. Service here is also quite short and surly. It was during both visits. JP's is clearly a family business and both times we were there, the (presumably) husband and wife were the only servers in the place. They took turns waiting on all the tables throughout the night. And sometimes, they crisscrossed and accidentally asked for orders from some tables that had already given them to the other server/owner. It just seemed like they never communicated or had any kind of a system set up. Refills on drinks are very slow, even though the place is not that large and wasn't very crowded on either occasion. And when we did ask for something, like a refill, it was rarely acknowledged verbally. The server/owner would merely pick up the empty glass, do an abrupt about-face, disappear, and return a few minutes later with the drink refill (or whatever was requested). And never a word spoken. Strange. Verrrry strange. So I think I'll stay clear based on the whole firing-hot-clam-chowder-into-the-porcelain-bowl incident. And the quiet and eerie service. So I may have to drive a little farther out to get my Chinese food and/or sushi fix, but I'll do it now.

"I enjoyed having lunch with you, but didn't expect to". Are the words that came out my bosses mouth upon returning from lunch at JP's Bistro. The funny thing is, he was talking about me. My thoughts exactly..... about you, JPs Asian Bistro I wasn't sure what to expect. Most of the business's in this area have closed up or left. Which may be sign of something. However I was surprised at what I found. I love all things Asian and when a place can combine various types of Asian cuisine in one place and do it well. Well, then I'm willing to acknowledge that. The service was great. There was a group of 12 of us which could be hard for any place to pull of during lunch hours. It was busy before we even arrived, that speaks miles of the staff. They have great lunch specials here and all the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled delicious. I had the sushi lunch special, so for $9 I got 2 rolls and a bowl of soup. I got the spicy tuna and the the California roll. The soup somehow missed it's way to my stomach. I won't hold that against them, because 16 pieces of sushi for $9 is a pretty good deal in my book. The sushi was actually pretty good. Not the best I've ever had, but fresh and made to order. With it being so close to my work, I'm sure I'll pay them a return visit. Second time around I'll give one of the lunch entrees a go.

My buddy lives in Roxborough Village and invited me out to see his place and have lunch. The restaurant choices in this somewhat isolated area are limited and we selected JP's because it was quick. The decor and atmosphere in this neighborhood Asian Bistro are pleasing and they also have a spacious patio. Our lunch entrees were large and came with soup, rice, fried wanton, & eggroll for about $8 bucks. The quality and flavor of the food was just average and did not live up to my standards, but it was a nice place to enjoy a quiet lunch with a friend. JP's website could use some work too. It would be great if they added some pictures but you can find their basic menu at jpsasianbistro.com/?page…

Great food, fresh and good service. Our first visit. Restaurant clean and unlike most Chinese rest, menu was not every dish known to man. Had the Mongolian Beef combo and it was very tasty. Would recommend.

We have been eating at JP's for almost 10 years now. Never had a bad meal. Food is great and the service is excellent. Restaurant is clean. Highly recommended. The sushi is always fresh, and various Asian meals are always well prepared. Good for either take out or dining in

Dinning in is always nice because of the friendly and efficient staff. Food always comes quick enough and to my liking. I will travel from out side of roxborough to eat here. The only negitive thing I can say is when I call in for delivery, I feel the conversation is rushed everytime. Multiple times I am not told the total of my bill or I am cut off mid sentence. Overall I recommend this place all the way!

A few authentic Taiwanese food like beef noodle soup and other speciality from Taiwan. The serve and owner were very nice. Will definetly go back to try other specialty. BTW need to call in first and order it ahead, so they have time to cook it!!!

Yummy sushi and great service! We try something new on the menu every visit and are never disappointed. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Their delivery is great too, always quick. Only wish they had a better beer selection.

I love a sushi place that has White Tuna, delicious! Grabbed a quick lunch with friends after a hike at Roxborough Park. They have a really good selection of fish for sashimi. The mackerel is nicely smoked, not dry, very flavorful. The snapper and yellowtail were very fresh, not chewy like they'd been around a while. And, the White Tuna was like buttah, yum! Prices are pretty standard, $4-6 for two pieces of sashimi or nigiri. This is a nice place and it was probably a little inappropriate for us to show up in our grubby hiking clothes and boots. But, the servers didn't seem concerned about it and didn't make us uncomfortable. They have a weekday happy hour 3pm to close, so if we find ourselves in the area on an after work hike, we will definitely have to take advantage of that.

I love the sesame chicken and lemon chicken. The soup is great too. I go for lunch and always have some to take home for a snack later.

Ordered take out, we got egg foo young and cashew chicken. They said it would be ready in 5 minutes, which seemed a little odd. The pork was completely uncooked. The chicken was not recognizable as chicken. It seemed like the scraps of ligament and fat one might cut off of chicken when preparing it. This is the third time being completely burned by this place. Before it was soggy lemon chicken and another time it was extremely stinky sushi we just threw away. This time we brought it back and asked for our money back. The staff was completely rude and argumentative about returning our money. I will never eat here again. The only reason they are open is a lack of options in Roxborough. Can't wait for Sterling Ranch.

Would you believe me if I said the bad news is that the food was excellent? We were there on an empty Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the lunch special (3 rolls for $13). But the service was very disappointing. Our waitress had a lovely smile but knew only enough English to take our orders. She was stumped by "What do you recommend?" and did not understand our request for no Tobiko on the California roll. There was a whole other fiasco when we ordered something to go. In short: the food was delectable, but the service was...frustrating.

After another try, their chicken pad Thai is actually pretty good too.

Words to sum up my dining experience at JPs: Bland Watered-down Westernized Inauthentic Overcooked Flavorless In fairness, almost every Asian restaurant I've ever been to in Colorado is downright terrible. People here seem to like this inauthentic pale comparison of the real thing, so I imagine JPs is only catering to an ignorant clientele. I can't fault them too strongly for that. But seriously, the food I had here was so boring it made me want to cry. The chili pepper next to some menu items is only an indication that the dish should perhaps BE spicy, not that they will actually MAKE it with any perceivable heat. From what I could tell, the restaurant must suffers from a supply chain problem where most of the spices and raw ingredients used to make good Chinese food are not available in this area and therefore are not in the dishes. The menu is chock full of western creations such as "orange chicken". A word for the wise: if the restaurant tries to serve multiple cuisines on the same menu, you can be guaranteed that at the most only one of them will be authentic, and likely none of them will even be close. The decor is nice though the plethora of hard surfaces leads to a lot of loud echoing when the restaurant is full. The service was slow in the middle of the weekday lunch-time crowd, which is perhaps not surprising. The prices are very cheap and the lunch specials come with your choice of soup as well as a friend eggroll and a deep-fried something else (not sure, might have been cream cheese or something it it from the looks).

I've eaten here numerous times over the years as it's one of the few lunch options near my clients and each time I wish it was better than it is. Most lunches are $7-9 and includes a cup of soup, rice, a spring roll & a krab-cheese dumpling. I ate here the other day and my boyfriend got his meal 5-8 minutes before mine came out and looking around this was happening at all the tables. How can their timing in the kitchen be that off? I had the egg drop soup (just ok) and the cashew chicken. I did like all the veggies. I'd rather prices go up 10-15% and the meal be a better experience.

Can only talk about the food; we have only done take out. Great food for the suburbs. Gotten sushi, rice, rolls, and main dishes. Very pleased with all. Probably eat it 2-3 times per month. Do wish their dumplings were not as thick (the dough) but that is minor. Would recommend to anyone.

YUM! My husband and I have visited JP's often, and order takeout even more frequently. Our experience tonight was fabulous! We didn't know that they had incorporated a new happy hour when sushi/sashimi is $1.25 each and domestic beers are 2 for 1. With this new happy hour, we decided to dive in and try new things, and I'm so glad we did. From the happy hour sushi menu we ordered crab, shrimp, salmon, smoked salmon and black pepper tuna. We loved the smoked salmon and black pepper tuna so much that we had to order more! Many times when we've dined there it has been extremely slow with only us and maybe one other table, but you can tell that the take out and delivery service is hopping. Tonight it was nice to see many full tables - maybe it's their new happy hour from 3pm-close. It was a great deal! We'll definitely go back to try other things on the happy hour menu. It's a great addition to the Roxborough area since we are pretty far from many restaurants.

This is a great restaurant and I love coming here. For my most recent visit the dishes I sampled was the lemon chicken, chicken lomein, and black pepper beef. The lemon chicken came with plenty of fried rice as well as the other dishes. The fried rice was the best rice that I've had in a very long time, it was full of flavor and had plenty of fried egg. The lemon chicken was excellent but there should have been more than there was. The lomein was good as well perhaps calls for a little more noodles and less vegetables. And the black pepper beef had the perfect mix of peppers and beef packed full of flavor and with the perfect amount of bite to it. For the overall restaurant I rate it four stars out of five while the food is really good I feel that some of the dishes were lacking in how much you get of some of the dishes, in comparison to other Asian restaurants that is.

Update: I ordered again tonight, thinking how could they possibly F up fried rice with tofu... little grease, no chance of the usual grisly chicken... and they somehow did it. They put SO much black pepper in this it's absurd....and I like black pepper! This is borderline inedible, with the pepper taste overwhelming all other flavors of the dish. I feel like black pepper should be left to the consumer, as it has a strong flavor and does not add much heat, but I would have not cared if they added just a sprinkle. This is like 10 generous shakes on a one-person portion. Disgusting. Trying to pick out the tofu and whatever else I can without too much pepper, but it's literally on every third grain of rice, and all over the larger ingredients. Kicking myself for giving JP's another chance. Oh, and I paid 9.50 for this mess. So disappointed. :(

The food is good and I have eaten here often, but it is too expensive. It is priced like PF Changs and I can't pay that much for delivery. The food in my opinion is not worth the price.

YES! JP's has the BEST sushi in Colorado. WELL WORTH the drive if this place is not in your neighborhood. The House roll is a must. They have a new Tropical roll with salmon, avocado, topped with mango and a mango sauce - unique, refreshing, delicious! The sushi is amazing and they also have an extensive menu with Chinese, Thai and vegetarian selections. The owner, Thomas, is super friendly and takes care of the 'regulars'. This place is such a treat. Amazing food, great prices, good service...I pray that they open another location closer to the city.
