Love Freddy's! Great service, burgers, and the fries are fantastic.

My mother-in-law requested Freddy's while my husband and I were running errands the other day, so we picked up lunch for everyone on our way home. Overall, I'd definitely choose it over something like McDonald's, but I wasn't super impressed. I had a single California cheeseburger. The meat quality was good, the cheese was nicely melted and I liked the sauce, but smashing the burger kind of made it crumbly and burnt around the edges (a problem I've never encountered at Smashburger or Five Guys). I did enjoy our order of onion rings. We didn't have frozen custard-- maybe that's where I missed out. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Freddy's for a burger, but if I needed a convenient drive-through stop it would definitely be under consideration.

I have tried this a few times now. Burgers are thin and over cooked. Very average. To each their own as I do see people there all the time but just do not get it. Fries and custard are good so that is why I gave it 3 stars. Everything else would be a 2. If you are forced to eat here order the Patty Melt. Much better than everything else.

I didn't realize that I was going to pay $7 for the thinnest most over salted burger I've ever had, not to mention the cold fries put in my bag upside down. Will not be going back.

Pretty generic layout. Congested at the order points. Custard was tasty. Skinny fries hot and seasoned. Regular burger came with pickle spears and mustard. Burger was smashed which has become popular once again, but I feel they are too dry. Hot dog had a toasted bun, which I like. I'd choose it over McD's and BK, but not a good DQ.

I love me some Freddy's. We actually had a conversation about "which burger" while we were there: Smash Burger, Five Guys, Fat Burger, or In n Out. Ok...so the last one won, hands down no question... But since it isn't exactly accessible within a few hours drive, the competition went down to the rest. Out if these, our group almost unanimously favored Freddy's. Love their skinny fries too, and to push it even further over the edge their chili cheese fries are amazing! Would have indulged in some frozen custard as well, but right across the parking lot there's a new Fro Yo Spot that is delish! We'll definitely be back! :)

I hesitate to give a fast food restaurant a five star review, because fast food is just that. With that said, Freddie's definitely merits five stars in the area of fast food. As someone who moved to Denver from the midwest, this restaurant is the perfect juxtaposition of a Culver's and Steak 'n Shake in one building. As other reviewers have noted, the fries are of the shoestring variety. You get a heaping basketful with a combo meal. There's a quality seasoned salt that you can put on your fries, along with a complimentary "fry sauce" that's reminiscent of the "spicy mayo" that some sushi restaurants offer. The steakburger was cooked very well and the amount of toppings (standard dress is mustard, onion, and pickles sliced the long way) balanced out the sandwich perfectly. Fresh brewed iced tea is another plus. Look forward to another visit! One minor note---it didn't appear there was a convenient way to access the restaurant if you're southbound on Kipling.

I've been to this Freddy's three times now. Each time I was served a bag of grease in their drive thru. The service was friendly but slow. I am at a loss as to why this grease pit gets any positive reviews. The food is bland, greasy-beyond-belief, and uninspired. I will be surprised if this Freddy's survives long in health-conscious Colorado. Freddy's makes McDonalds look like a health food restaurant.

I have become obsessed with finding consistency and freshness in restaurant food both in fast food chains and sit down restaurants. It is surprisingly, almost shockingly difficult to find, and I'm actually just tired of the sloppy inconsistent food that I get from 90% of the restaurants. Is it too much to ask to NOT give me a burger that was made an hour ago and to serve fries that have not been sitting around getting cold because you're too lazy or disorganized to time it to make them fresh for customers? This is a major reason why I like Freddies so far. I've been there about 5 times now and every time I've received a hot, fresh tasting burger with quality also fresh toppings. It is always just off the grill and the fries have been hot and crispy each time. I wish this were closer to where I live but it's worth a drive over the inconsistent chains in my Wadsworth/Bowles area (Good Times, BK, Larkburger, etc.). Seriously - the price is the same or in some cases even cheaper than what you get at fast food chains and the quality is superior. Reward chains like this.

Bacon double very tasty! Very quick also! Previous reviewers are kind of missing the point. The Freddy's Steakburger is not a regular fast food hamburger. The flavor of the meat is much better than anywhere else - I'd say it's slightly better than FatBurger/Smashburger, which is great for the price! Go and get one of these just plain, with nothing on it. You will see what I mean - lots of fast food places are covering their burgers with vegetables, bold sauces, jalapenos, bacon and cheese that isn't really cheese at all - because the meat is horrible! You don't need ketchup on these burgers - they stand all on their own. When the place is busy, it is still incredibly fast. Do yourself a favor and avoid the drive-thru. Go inside and get the whole experience. The activity behind the counter is always frenzied but organized, and they really do a nice job! The people are very friendly and diverse - go in and say HI to them!

This Freddy's Steakburger opened in March 2012. I just missed seeing its most famous customer - Gov. Rod 'Blago' Blagojevich - who dined here just before heading off to jail. The food here is reasonably priced and a decent quality. I got the Double Cheeseburger, which has 2 thin hamburgers, melted cheese, pickles, mustard, and white onions on a soft bun. Oddly - no ketchup. It was tasty but maybe a tad overcooked. The Fries are very thin. I like thicker Fries myself but a least they were hot and tasty. Pepsi (not Coke) for beverages. Service was a tad slow but maybe they were still excited about their brush with the recently-departed infamous customer. I'll probably visit again and try their custard.

Always good food and friendly staff. Here's our secret, my wife and I order the #1 meal, double cheese with fries and a drink, then order another burger plus a soda and spilt the fries. They always give you way too many fries, but I've got no compliants.

Awesome burgers and fries. The sear makes me take longer to chew and enjoy the burger. Freddy's has my favorite fries even though McD's held that honor until they changed their oil.

Love me some Freddy's. Smashed Seared Steakburgers with a Killer Crust (that actually taste like BEEF). Bacon. "Secret Sauce". Kick-Ass skinny fries that even I can't resist. Oh, and there's Frozen Custard. CUSTARD. What's the question?

Great!! Really enjoyed this place. Burger was hot and fresh. Fries were the best I've ever had in this price range. Loved the sauce for the fries. Only complaint grilled onions could have used some work, they were more warmed them grilled. Friendly people as well.

Nothing really special in my opinion. Tiny McDonald's type hamburger patties, but they appear to be made fresh. The french fries at first I didn't care for but they are very thin and crisp... And that grew on me, had a hard time leaving any - even though I didn't need to eat any more of them. Their dipping sauce appears to be an aioli and while different than any chain fast food joint wasn't anything special, I used the ketchup more than the dipping sauce. They appeared to have a lot of ice cream treats, shakes, etc... that I'm sure the kids would enjoy, but I didn't try any. Best I can say is everything appears freshly made, so that puts it above pretty much any fast food chain. I'd come here over McDonald's but that's about it. Five guys, Smash burger, and the like are better.

The food is great. I love the matchstick fries, the burgers, and the chicken sandwich. I didn't care much for the veggie burger but my husband likes it. I've reviewed this location before, but wanted to update to add that the drive-thru IS. RIDICULOUS. I went through there today. 3 cars in front of me. It was 11 minutes from the time I got in line to the time I departed. I've eaten in the dining room a million times and there is never ever an unusually long wait for your food in there. I have no idea what in the WORLD slows down the drive-thru like this (it is always slow, but today was the first time I timed it). Also you get about half as many fries when you opt for drive-thru compared to when you dine in. When you do dine in, it's gotten very uncomfortable, as there's this ghoulish older woman who is in charge of maintaining the dining room. She walks slowly around, constantly, like a shark, looking for the tiniest shard of trash on the floor. She is very intrusive and will even sweep under your table WHILE YOU'RE SITTING THERE. If you dare to bus your own table, you can be halfway to the trash can and she'll chase you down and make you give her your tray so she can dispose of your trash. It's so off-putting, I have stopped going there as much as I used to.

As far as fast food/fast casual burgers go, Freddy's is the tops! Better than steak and shake, in and out ETC(I have not had smashburger so I will not compare). The meat is actually tasty! Don't let anyone compare it to Mcdonalds, this tastes like quality beef. It's well seasoned and cooked until seared on each side. The bun is soft, but holds up to the fresh, cool, crisp veggies. On 2 visits my burger has been great each time. I got the veggie burger today, and it was equally delicious. The fries are amazing! Thin cut, flash fried, and they have very good seasoned salt to put on them. They never taste of old grease like other fast food joints. I have been served with a friendly smile on each visit when dining in. Ordering is very easy and the food comes out quickly. 5 minutes or so. The place was hopping each time I was there, so I suspect they will do very well at this location. It is a place we actually wanted to come back to, not a last resort option. Glad to have this old fashioned burger spot close to home! For the price point this is the best burger you can find, but I have reserved 5-ers for the better burger joints.

Every so often, I want a burger. A burger made out of beef. I'm a fairly simple gal when it comes to my burgers and don't require 2 or 3 patties. Freddy's has the most perfect, succulent, single-burger to bun to cheese to condiments ratio thing going on, that I will never look at The Cherry Cricket the same. And their fries. Crispy, hot shoestrings with the perfect amount of seasoning...and their special sauce is delicious. I order it everytime. Wash this all down with a root beer and try not to think about how you just cancelled out that 3 miler you did earlier today. It was worth it.

Time will tell - this location has been a Fizoli's - Good Times - Now Freddy's...the fad will fade and then will see how they do here. Possible not enough traffic for them. Although I think the Burger King that is near has to be a big tax write-off, no way can they compete at this locait

The burgers here are ok. They are very thin and usually cooked to death. They however do taste good. They also give you a heaping pile of delicious very thin fries The kids really love coming here though and will actually eat the chicken strips. All in all not bad, not great. If it wasn't so close to home I wouldn't go out of the way to eat here.

Fresh from a trip to California, where I visited In-N-Out daily, I decided to give Freddy's a try. I was told they had a California style to rival In-N-Out. What a disappointment. Not even close guys. Either get it right or get if off the menu! Drive thru experience was lacking with the kid taking forever with the food and then forgetting my combo meal drink. He also asked me if I wanted ketchup which he then forgot.... Oh well. Guess there is no substitute for the original.

I have only had the Freddie's classic burger. The hamburger patty is extremely thin and burnt in the edges. The fries are thin and similar to those little thin fries you can buy in a can in grocery stores...worst fries I have ever had at any fast food restaurant. The hamburger was "okay"' but just barely better than a McDonalds burger, and nowhere near as good as a Wendy's burger.

First time trying Freddy's. Its near wifes work so we got a quick drive thru....well not super quick. Wife ordered patty melt with no onions and I had original cheeseburger. The kid running the drive thru lane typed up the patty melt as double mushroom swiss. I questioned this and he said I type it up that way because its easier for the cooks to make it. Easier than just making a patty melt and excluding the onions. Ok, fine, but I realized later that this was $0.20 more than the listed price for the patty melt. I also realized that my original cheeseburger was charged an extra $0.70 from the sandwich only price listed. All told they got me for $0.90, but it may be my last $0.90 they get. My wife did not like the "easier" way to make her sandwich, it is not the same as the patty melt she has gotten a couple times during her lunch hour. And this "easier" way to make the sandwich certainly wasn't faster. I sat in the drive up window between 5-8 minutes after pulling up and paying and receiving my receipt. It is a shame that was my first impression, because I thought my cheeseburger was very good, a little crust, a little grease. I think the prices are a little bit high for the area and experience.
