Why do so many people go here? I hope this review saves at least some people from the EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT of Wild Bills. We are tired from hiking or camping or whatever and would like to be treated nice and given good food. Wild Bill's fails on both accounts. They are rude, they don't honor their advertising. The food is tasteless and expensive. There it is. That's the truth. I love local venues but this place is an embarrassment.

This was a real treat in a town so horrible. The burgers I've gotten here have been great, the fries are wonderful, and the shakes are straight-forward yet tasty. The chicken sandwich was also delicious and the jalapeño poppers were great too. Amazingly fast service with a smile every time!

This hole-in-the-wall burger joint is very overpriced! The burgers were underwhelming in taste: $9.99 for a burger and fries. Extra for a drink with no refills. And the bottom of the soft serve cone had the last customer's cotton candy flavoring. We were not impressed with the menu or experience.

This is one of those places you walk into and wonder how it stays in business. Duct taped seating, cramped interior, and the entire place leans at an angle as if the building has shifted... My husband had a burger that he swears comes from the same distributor as Sonic burgers, but with a nicely char-grilled flavor. I ordered the shrimp, which turned out to be frozen shrimp poppers deep fried. Not bad, but if I wanted frozen breaded packaged shrimp I could have had them at home instead of paying $8.99. Fries were nothing special. The friendly service was a plus, but we'll find somewhere else next time we're in Leadville.

Wild Bill's is becoming a traditional stop on the drive back from Aspen over Independence Pass. It's a pretty basic burger joint with burgers ranging around $8-9, but you get a huge basket of fries with your burger. Their shakes, made with soft-serve ice cream, are a nice treat too. Makes facing the interstate traffic just a little more bearable.

We were really hungry after doing the Independence Pass loop and this was the first place coming into Leadville. I had the BBQ burger with bacon. The BBQ sauce was just a bit overwhelming and not very good. The shoestring fries were really good. I would like to try the shakes. The GF had a burger as well and thought it was just OK. It is overpriced for the quality but that comes with being in a mountain town.

We stopped at Wild Bill's while in Leadville on vacation last week. We had a regular cheeseburger and a bacon cheeseburger - also an iced tea and a (very small) chocolate shake. Total was a whopping $23.00!!! The burgers were ok, but nothing exceptional, the fries were also pretty good, and the shake (6 ounce cup) was from a soft serve machine. Not to say the food was bad - just well short of being worth what we were charged. This should have cost around $14.00

I called here to get the correct address, I was visiting the area. I called to double check the address & was greeted with "Who's calling?" and when I asked if the address I had was correct, his answer was, "We're in the phone book." VERY RUDE. I would NOT go here based on the the extremely RUDE man that answered the phone and gave me the third degree.

Wild Bill's is a small burger joint with an ok burger. The burger was a little small for my taste but the flavor was good. I got onion rings with my burger and they were yummy. They have ice cream but didn't have room. I will definitely be going back for some ice-cream.

Voted # 1 by the locals year after year and I can see why. Though I only had their guacamole burger the several times I went there I'm told that all the other stuff on their menu - which is all homemade - is equally superb. According to the locals this place has catered to numerous celebrities including (IIRC) some of the cast and crew from the serial killer/suspense film _Switchback_ (starring Danny Glover) which was filmed near Leadville. Like many other similar establishments in town, this one seemed to have some genuinely older upholstery & furnishings from decades past which seems to add to the nostalgic ambiance of these places. In the front counter hung a hilarous sign warning would be patrons to check their fucking attutudes lest the "reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" clause be enacted. Don't know if it's stilll there.

The venue wasn't the best (duct tape on booth and kind of small inside) BUT the guacamole bacon burger was super tasty! Fresh guac and the bacon was cooked just right . And way more fries than I could. Could return another time for some ice cream

After a dip in the hot springs at Mt. Princeton, my husband, brother, and I decided to drive up to Leadville to check out the mining museum. Because we had a large breakfast beforehand, we weren't hungry enough for a burger or anything so we shared a large order of fries here and had shakes and a root beer float. I didn't taste my husband's root beer float, but I'm sure it was fine. The lady seemed to have put a decent amount of vanilla ice cream in there as opposed to just a little bit. The fries were made hot and fresh. We added a little salt and devoured them. The milkshakes were pretty good. I had a strawberry and my brother had a chocolate--both made with soft serve ice cream. The duct tape to repair the booth seats made us laugh. The dining area, while small, was not crazy packed, but it was only about 11:00 a.m. I'd recommend this place for their shakes, but cannot account for their burgers. A gas station is very close by if you need to fuel up before hitting the trail again. Sure, it may be pricey, but after having lived in a larger mountain town for a few years (Durango) their prices were comparable. I'd go back just to have a shake and chat with the really nice lady behind the counter. Review #115
