I'm a big supporter of small businesses, so I'll go to this place over Sonic any day of the week, plus their food is great :) Fun place, quick service, great hamburgers, and their shakes are amazing!

I miss this place. I used to live in Lamar and would come here all the time. Delicious shakes are the name of the game here! Come here for that classic 70's diner feel!

Summary: Sonic is better, you Expect to get mediocre flash-frozen fried food there. Good: -Looks like a good place for teenage boys to pick up girls. -The order taker sounded like Dane Cook (maybe not really a good but I'm trying). Bad: -Phone in the dining room is horrible, you expect to be able to talk to the order taker but it's like talking to a drive-in speaker. -All of their regular dinners are frozen prepared (not fresh). Not sure about the Mexican food. Fries, frozen; onion rings, frozen (but assured that they were Gourmet); shrimp, frozen (this is a given, but still); and the small hamburger patties don't look hand formed. -Nasty salads, just hamburger lettuce and tomatoes with a big packet of dressing. To the BJ's Owner, Making a very successful small town fast food joint where people drive in for hundreds of miles isn't impossible. Also, see examples below. Keys to small town burger success: -Hand formed patties (they don't have to be big or small) -Freshly cut fries -Freshly made onion rings -Fresh buns Do just those things and you don't have to compete with Sonic. BJ's DOMINATION!!! I hit up this place at least once a week when I disregard my general health and well-being. Great fast food. And AWESOME prices! I always go and get the biggest chocolate malt I've ever seen! 44 oz. For less than 5 bucks! MOST all the food I have eaten there was good, but some was just ok, hence the 4 stars. Awesome place though, highly recommended!!!

favorite and cheapest place to eat in Lamar....they have a similar menu as Sonic with the addition of chicken fried steak, fish sandwiches, and mexican food....the burgers are pretty decent and you can get one for under 2 bucks.....the rest of the food kinda reminds me of school cafeterias but when you can get chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, dinner rolls, and cole slaw for $5.99 who cares
