This place rocks for fast, fresh, healthy food. I like that you can choose a suggested dish or create your own from scratch. They offer may healthy options. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean. They are also fast. You usually don't wait any longer than 10 minutes for your food.

This was my first visit to Tokyo Joe's. I had read about it before and been wanting to try it out. I might be back to try something else, but the couple of dishes I had were gross and i would not get them again. -Gyozo so overcooked that the skin was falling apart. -Yakitori bowl had a sickly sweet sauce and egg noodles that were overcooked to the point of mushy and falling apart

Tokyo Joe's does a pretty great job whenever we come to this restaurant. Although their "innovations" of new food isn't always the best, they do a great job with their original restaurant. The location is awesome as well.

I like Tokyo Joes. One of the closer non-sandwich places to eat for lunch by where I went to school, so I came here a lot. I enjoy their veggie with brown rice bowls very much, and with only about 500 calories in them, I know that I am not ruining my days worth of calories eating out for lunch. I know it isn't authentic Japanese food at all, but it makes for a nice lunch. They do need to turn down there music a bit here though...I can barely hear who I am with! Also, the sushi needs to come on separate plates if they are separate orders for separate people!

I have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Tokyo Joe's ever since I ate at the one that used to be on East Evans. This is a standard Joe's. Tasty food that sorta, kinda pretends to be Japanese, but is not. Friendly service. Funky (buy clearly designed by a corporation) environment. Free Wi-Fi.

We've been to several different locations. Every one of them is always solid, good service, good food. My dad likes the Mojo Bowl (which has always been a little wierd for me since he's my dad). Kiddo #1 likes the Mac n Cheese (I know, shocking right?). Hubby really likes the Spring rolls and I love the edamame and Joe's roll. Much better option for lunch than a burger!!!

My first time coming here the other night was awesome. My sis and I both had the California rolls. They were tasty! It's a bummer we don't have them in the Twin Cities. I will try more when I come back this summer!

If you want great email deals, get on their mailing list! They have some great deals... like today when the weather sucks, you mention "I wish I was in Maui" and flash the 'fob' they give you and they give you free food with purchase :) Plus they have their frequent member card which is also helpful when you visit often. Their website details out the nutrition too which I find very helpful. I am not a fan of their sushi as it is dry and not flavorful enough for my taste buds, but I really enjoy their signature bowl of unagi (eel) and teriyaki.

I prefer the Tokyo Joe's location on South Colorado Blvd., primarily because it's smaller and has a warmer atmosphere - and for the patio. This Colfax location is large, dark and a bit cold feeling. Four stars however for the (yes, I know it's not real Japanese) food. The salads are delicious.

The food here deserves four stars, but the service I've had here has been up-and-down. I really enjoy the fact that Tokyo Joes is very upfront about ingredients and nutritional information. Although this isn't what comes to mind when I think about eating Japanese food, it is a great alternative to other fast food options. I also love their to-go containers, because they will hold up as reusable containers for months. The sushi, also, is surprisingly good here. The Joe roll is an interesting combination, and I like the spice level of their spicy tuna roll. However, on two occasions the employees seem to almost go out of their way to make life difficult for customers. Once, I came here and got a rice bowl to go with curry sauce, (on the side). I went next door to eat it in the movie theater, and when I go to open up the container, I realize that they put the sauce container in the bag with the lid not fully attached. I don't know how you don't notice something like that when putting an order together, and of course curry makes everything smell like curry for an eternity. When I went back in to get more sauce, I simply said, "Could I have some more curry sauce? Whoever put this order together before didn't put the lid on the sauce, so it got all over everything." The server silently and haughtily got me more sauce, (the same server that is) without so much as a "whoops". Now, obviously I realized this was the same server, so I could have said "You didn't put the lid on", but I didn't want to be rude. Lucky for me, she was rude enough for us both! Then last week I come in to get sushi, literally having just sprained my ankle not thirty minutes prior. I can barely walk but all I want is some dinner while I elevate at home. The person in front of me finishes their order, and I wait for the cashier to acknowledge me, as I finally have something to brace myself and don't want to lose it unless I have to. The cashier looks up, stares at me, then says "What do you want?". well actually, what I want is for you to be a little kind, oh and a new ankle would be awesome too. I order quickly, she tells me my total, and just my total, not even "ok, that'll be $x.xx". And I limp away slowly. As I get my order, a mother and her two children enter the store, and one is a four-ish year old girl. The girl starts getting upset about not wanting to eat here, so the mother says "fine then you can leave", to which the girl leaves. The same server I had turns to the person behind her, and says, loudly enough that my preoccupied gimp ears can hear, and says "did you see that? God nice parenting." I wanted to kick her, but didn't want to break my ankle at this point. The mom was still directly next to me. I'm all for Tokyo Joes hiring "alternative" servers, but only if they realize that being a more modified person does not make you a better one!

This is my favorite Tokyo Joes location. There's never a line, food orders come pretty quickly, close to the movie theater. I tried their sushi once and it was awful, but I love their bowls.

I've only been to this location, so that's all I can comment on. It's edible. And reasonably healthy. However, all the dishes with sauce are over-sauced, the food itself is pretty bland, and in the end, I am always disappointed because I feel that I just paid 7 dollars for the equivalent of a frozen meal that someone else heated up for me. The sushi is ok, nothing that stands out. Japanese, not done well. I've tried a few times and just can't get myself to be a fan.

This was my first visit to a Tokyo Joe's establishment and I am glad I tried it. The restaurant was clean, service friendly and fast, and the food was good and reasonably priced. I had the Unagi bowl on brown rice and really enjoyed it. I liked TJ's so much, my second visit was in the same week. I took my kids for lunch and we all enjoyed our meals. I will surely visit more often as an alternative to the Chipotle, Qdoba, Quiznos routine.

I'm pretty sure i eat here about twice a week it's that good! Salmon with teriyaki sauce: yummy yummy Lunch rush line moves fast and it so nice to add a variety in your life. True it's probably not legit Japanese cuisine but its the Colorado's version.

Went here on a business trip and it was so good I came twice. It's a casual nice place to come for lunch or a quick dinner. Fresh food for the price.

TJ's is my fav fast casual spot in Denver. I wish they had them back east, too. Hmm, how much would it cost to open up a franchise in the ATL? Lol. The nice thing is that there are a lot of healthier choices than most fast casual joints. I usually get a white chicken teriyaki bowl with veggies. All properly cooked, and plenty of food for your money.

Fast food sushi is the name of the game here. I usually order two 8 piece tuna rolls and a drink, which cost $13. It's tasty and quick. Just good enough to satisfy my sushi cravings.

Disgusting. My mom and I stopped in for lunch today... Half way through her meal she realized one side if her plate was covered in thick, hardened dust. The plate had not been washed in a very long time, if ever, and who knows where it was hiding before they arranged food on it. We will NEVER go back. I caution everyone to double check their dish and silverware before digging into their meal. We were too sickened to finish.

I'm giving this place two stars only because the service was fairly decent. Otherwise, I'd give it one. The food, you might guess, left something to be desired. I should have known not to order salmon at a place like this. What arrived in my bowl was leathery, greyish, flavorless, and barely edible. The vegetables tasted fresh, but the whole dish was overshadowed by the awful piece of fish that was supposed to be the centerpiece of my meal. I'm quite sure it was microwaved. Yuck... Never. Again.

What's not to like about this place? In a world dominated by unhealthy fast-food restaurants, this place offers a great alternative to the greasy burger or a cheesy slice of pizza. Nutritious? Meh... Delicious? Absolutely.

The food here is rather good depending on what you're expecting from Japanese cuisine. How you get it and the environment in which you eat it however can be a bit disjointed, disorganized, and overall noisy as all hell. The sushi rolls in general are middle of the road. The Thai peanut chicken skewers however are addictive and I could eat 50 of them in one sitting. Anything teriyaki I steer clear of because the sauce rubs me the wrong way. Other side dishes like the rice are about what you'd expect, but nothing that has you floating in the air ecstatic with the food. The service is friendly but can be a bit forgetful.
