Was really disappointed with this restaurant. My friends and I were starving after touring Rocky Mountain National Park and this was the first restaurant we could find. We stopped in, stood at the hostess area for about 5 minutes before someone came over and asked us "what can I help you with?" We said we were there to eat, she said they were absolutely booked, couldn't accommodate us at all. There were too many open tables to count! The lobster and shrimp ravioli sounded amazing, but we were refused service.

This place is awesome. The staff is professional and kind. The food is excellent and the location with the view of the mountains makes it worth many return trips. Highly recommended!!!

Ate here twice on a recent stay in Granby. The restaurant scene is pretty lame on the east side of the park. This is a really cute joint obviously frequented by the over--50 locals. All tables in both the lounge & dining area have nice lake views. The staff is super friendly & nice, and I would guess they are well treated by management. We loved the super fresh house salads and the crusty artisan bread. I really wanted to give this place 4 stars, but the food needs a little help. My Italian Wedding soup was delicious but so salty I could barely finish it, and my friend's veggie lasagna was buried under a huge gooey slab of cheese which overwhelmed the delicate veggies. Calamari app was slightly undercooked and again, unreasonably salty!

We called for reservations and got a answering machine promising to call back, they never did. I am giving them one star for lack of service.

Just OK House wine was poor even for table wine. And reds were very cold. Waitress was very nice. Only highlight of night 6 meals totally overwhelmed them. Took forever. Kids meal was burnt CostCo dinosaur nuggets. Lobster ravioli was $18 and was 4 large cream filled ravioli covered in odd marinara. Burger very boring. Salad barely cut. Think soup was box veg soup. Plain plates not great. Very sweet people. Tried hard but super overpriced and subpar. So missing the fabulous chef from the Taphouse Restaurant. The only decent chef in Grand Lake. We're so frustrated trying to get a decent meal up here. UPDATE- 6/1/14 owners are truly concerned about poor reviews. So glad they're working to improve their restaurant. Better wine. Fresher food and trained experienced staff would make it better. Glad to see the concern. Gorgeous spot with possibilities.

Always impressed! The view is stunning, perched right over Lake Granby. With fresh ingredients and home cooked favorites, it is hard to beat. I love the lobster ravioli for dinner. They just added a fabulous brunch buffet on Sundays with a bloody mary bar and bottomless mimosas! Great service too!

A true Kitchen Nightmare. If you like your penne pasta cold and undrained and have money to blow on a view, enjoy.

Great find in the mountains. Staff is very friendly and the food really good. I would recommend reservations as they are busy. The humming birds out the window are awesome and the view breathtaking.

This is on my top 10 list of best Yelp finds. I LOVE the quirky out of the way awesome little places that you just happen to stumble upon (with the help of Yelp of course). We loved our September evening here - drinks on the patio overlooking the lake while the sun went down, then as the chill hit we moved in to the bar for dinner and a bottle of wine. We enjoyed all the food and all the staff were friendly and engaging. We stayed in the upstairs room at the end of the hall. Cozy and clean, we slept with the windows open. When you're laying in the bed looking out the window you almost feel like you're on a boat, since all you can see is water out the window. Beautiful view.

We looked up this restaurant before our trip to Colorado and knew that we had to eat here! We were not disappointed! We got the Mustachio's Potato Skins, Chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables and Tiramisu, which was just amazing!! Our waiter was exceptionally friendly and helpful, as were the owners! We highly recommend this place both for the food and the amazing scenery. The hummingbirds were right outside our table and it was just an amazing experience! Will definitely return if we go through Colorado again!

Mustachio's on the Lake is one of the nicer restaurants off Lake Granby with some of the best views of the lake and surrounding mountains. I am reviewing the restaurant and only the food that we enjoyed as part of a rehearsal dinner so I cannot speak to the food that is individually prepared. The staff, waiters and waitresses were all exceedingly friendly and accommodating with the larger party that was eating and drinking for a long dinner. The bar tenders were also right on point with numerous drinks and didn't bat an eye about the volume of summer mixed drinks that were ordered. The wife and I both ordered the Lasagna with red meat layered with ricotta cheese, sausage with homemade Bolognese sauce combined with four Italian cheeses, which is their signature dish and was excellent, with a lot of flavor and the home made sauce was first-rate. I wish I had taken more pictures but, as I said earlier the drinks were flowing thus putting food at the top of the list before pictures! The desserts were an Italian Love Cake and Pistachio Panna Cotta which both were light and perfect after a heavier meal with drinks.

We were heading back to Denver after a day of golf and had looked at staying overnight in Grand Lake. Musty, sad looking rooms without a view for $125 and up. We drove by Mustachio's, saw a vacancy sign and called. A queen and a king were available for $89 so we came back to look. All four rooms are right on the lake with big picture windows for incredible views. Clean, cozy, we were sold. We stayed in No. 1. Restaurant was closed (only open Thurs-Sun this time of year), but Dave showed us out to the patio, where we enjoyed our own wine and a double rainbow over the lake. Nice music in the background. Then super comfy bed. Hot shower. Continental breakfast in the great room overlooking the lake. Now we noticed the fireplace and the games, for next time. This will never be the St. Regis, but when they install new carpeting and toilets and include some moisturizer in the bathrooms, I'm giving five stars for the value and the breathtaking setting.

Amazing view, and equally good food. Serving staff were professional and friendly. Kept the drinks filled. All the food came out in good time. Everything was the highest level of Italian food that I have ever had. You must leave room for the tiramisu! It is the best that I have ever had in the U.S.

This restaurant has a spectacular location overlooking the lake. The service is fast and fun with the servers being both knowledgable and friendly. They have an extensive salad and appetizer menu, as well as entrées The portions are generous! The Italian Wedding Soup is delicious. Next time I would choose one of the lasagna dishes. I can't comment on the main dishes as I only ate soup and salad. The entrées looked wonderful. The restaurant has a full bar and a good wine list.

AMAZING! My husband and I just had our wedding reception at Mustachio's this past Saturday 3/14. We cannot express how grateful we are for the awesome hospitality we experienced there. David, Becky, and Lisa were so very welcoming and accommodating from the very early planning stages all the way to the actual event. It could not have gone any better and I would not change a thing. We had a buffet dinner complete with warm bread and appetizers on each table and a champagne toast. For the buffet we had lasagna, both traditional and vegetarian, penne pasta with meatballs or sausage in their homemade red sauce, chicken marsala, mashed potatoes, and vegetable medley. Everything was amazing, and our guests are still raving about it. The view is amazing and cannot be beat. Lake Granby was so beautiful still frozen in snow and all of our out of town guests were blown away by the continental divide. I will recommend Mustachio's to anyone visiting the Grand County area and will forever be grateful to David, Becky, and Lisa for giving us the wedding of our dreams. It was amazing!

Excellent, excellent, excellent! Friendly atmosphere, delicious food, and amazing prices. The atmosphere is very LA Confidential, 50s Hollywood/Italian. The music is great, everything from the Rat pack to more modern lounge style music. The staff wears Frank Sinatra-like hats and are polite, friendly, and unobtrusive. The view of Granby lake is spectacular, especially at sunset. There are a few vegetarian options but their specialty is definitely delicious Italian Grandma food.

What a beautiful place! The staff was great and the views are breathtaking. The area is remote, and this is a great place to hide out for a weekend. My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night a couple months ago for a short getaway. The rooms are comfortable, clean and cozy. The decorations were also really cute and charming. All of them have a great view of Lake Granby. There are only 4 rooms, and it's a great place to go if you like the idea of a B&B without the potentially awkward B&B experience. There were coffee and pastries out in the morning, and the restaurant & bar, which are open in the evening, are in the same building. We were here during their "Masterpiece at Mustachio's" event (similar to Canvas and Cocktails). It was a blast and we got to go home with two awesome paintings that were taught with step by step instructions in this large, gorgeous room overlooking the lake. It was so much fun, and the owner teaches the classes...she was really funny and made the class really easy to do. The restaurant was AWESOME. Homemade, very authentic tasting Italian sauce on the pasta and the burgers were simple, but just right. They definitely use high quality meat and produce. My boyfriend loved the Italian Wedding Soup so much, we asked for the recipe. It is their house soup which is made fresh everyday...mini meatballs, fresh spinach, celery, carrots and a light broth with plenty of fresh Parmesan cheese--delicious! The owners and staff were kind and delightful! Love the mustache theme too--it's super fun. On a side note, I understand they get hoards of hummingbirds in the summer that visit the restaurant's feeders on the patio....we'll be back to say hello to those guys and watch the boats go by! If you're looking to go to the mountains for something a little different, don't miss out on this place!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
