Went in for lunch and enjoyed it immensely. Everything 100% authentic, not just spicy but flavorful. Chilis in the rellenos were roasted right in the parking lot. Service was efficient and friendly. Will be going back tomorrow before heading home.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and based on previous reviews I thought it would be a winner! Well, I was mildly disappointed to say the least. I had combo 5 which is a smothered chile relleno and a tamale with rice and beans and I added a ground beef enchilada. The beans were bland and I found a hair in the rice. The beef was not very good in the enchilada, I took one bite and threw it out. The tamale was very dry and not very flavorful. The only part I thoroughly enjoyed was the relleno! Not sure if was an off day or what. I think I may try the Azteca Mexican restaurant that is down the street next time.

Don't let looks deceive you. Looks like a dive but the food was very good and authentic. Salsa was some of the best that we have had. We both had a barbacoa taco (street taco style) and tamale. Taco was very juicy and flavorful. My tamale was a little lacking in filling but husband's had a better ratio. Definitely worth a stop!

This place us such a gem! We tried fajitas and flautas. the guacamole was insanely good...maybe best in colorado! they have a salsa bar too...seems like a lot of locals were eating there. the chicken fajitas were better than beef...ample portions too.

This is the best Mexican food ever. If they are having a special, get it. Carlos is a fantastic cook and Mondo is a wonderful owner/waiter. They even have ice cream treats as a holdover from the last ice cream shop in there. Best ever.

Food was okay. Prices very reasonable. Not sure we will come again since there is much to choose from.

Our family went for dinner last night and had a wonderful and fun evening! The delicious food and reasonable prices more than outweigh the lack of "posh presentation". Very authentic (as compared to the actual Mexican food in Mexico) with kind, friendly wait staff and a relaxed, family atmosphere. (No liquor served). Clean and terrific. Yummy! Very Enjoyable. Thank You Jose!

The place is small and not spectacular, but don't let it trick you. This place really is a gem with excellent food, affordable price and friendly staff. Two thumbs up!!!

Food was delicious! This would be a 5 star review but they don't serve alcohol so we couldn't wash our fabulous chimichangas down with a marg.

Don't let the ambiance fool you - the food is amazing! The chips were hot, fresh and tasty. The Barbacoa taco yummy, huevos rancheros great, retried beans flavorful, chile rellenos tasty and the green chile awesome! Give it a try!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
