DELIZIOSO! Le me tradition è So parlor. Paradiso in terra. My Dad said if I am ever in Georgetown I had to stop by and eat here. Well Pops has never steered me wrong and he was right on THE MONEY. So good. Everythingis Fresh and made here. From the house dressing on the salad with their olive butter to the Alfredo upon their home made linguine, dancing on the palate. Met the owner, Tracy, she is on the MOVE. Talk about a women who aims to please and she did just that. Love the food, the atmosphere, THE VIEW from the window seat and the personality of everyone working here. Hey the house bread, FORGET ABOUT IT, DANGA! If you are a local, you're lucky pop in at least once a week. If your passing through town, this is s must. Bona petite.

Amazing food!! I have had several items on the menu and you cannot go wrong. I brought my family in town and this is always their favorite spot!!! Thanks Tracy for making us feel at home.

This turned out to be our THIRD choice for lunch in Georgetown, after discovering Euro Grill didn't open for lunch (or during the week?) and the Tea Room had an event going on. We were even more chagrined to discover that there was only ONE slightly desperate employee working that day, but stayed because we didn't want to make another decision. Slightly Desperate Employee was a rock star, dashing madly around attempting to serve and cook for two tables that were finishing up and three tables that had just sat down. Fortunately the place was tiny and felt more like someone's living room than a restaurant, and no one else came in while we were there to add to her chaos. She got all of our orders right, something bigger restaurants have failed at, and so far as I could tell got the other tables all correct, too. We didn't feel we were waiting too long, either. We all ordered subs, and they were a good size for lunch, not ridiculously large, but also not disturbingly small. The bread was dense and crunchy. Water was served in glass bottles at the table, but the water glasses were rather small. We'll likely stop by again, and hopefully she'll have backup next time!

Headed to or from the Mountains on 70? Stop here. Pass the restaurants at the Georgetown exit and go into town to Troia's. Unexpectedly excellent Italian food. Great pastas with just the right seasonings. Limited menu, but enough great choices at reasonable prices, in a small spot with pleasant service. Try it. You'll like it.

I have come to expect less in small mountain towns and understandably so. Business is just tougher in these locations. I can say I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I had a craving for lasagna and they delivered, big time. Huge portion and very tasty.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I came in here. We were looking for a cafe, for some coffee and snacks and this seemed like the only one in old Georgetown since it says cafe. The town itself is old fashioned and this was the feel of the restaurant too. The service was good. We ordered the Artichoke dip and it was delicious! it came with cut baguette bread. We also ordered taramisu and cannoli ( desserts available which were not on the menu, but we asked ) the cannoli was small portion but delicious. The desserts seemed home made as well. Very tasty.

This place was recommended to us by a longtime local so we were excited to eat here. The place is teeny but smells amazing. Can't say the same for the staff. We immediately felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. We stood in the middle of the room and the only person who was kind to us was a customer! He got a table and chairs set up for us but the older waitress seemed to care less, almost like we were inconveniencing her by coming to dine there. I am a restaurant manager, I'm thinking they desperately need me to come in and show them what customer service looks like and how to execute it! Unless you enjoy being humiliated just pass this place on by!

Good Italian food restaurant in historic downtown Georgetown. I stopped in after driving on the beautiful Guanella Pass Road and ordered the homemade Lasagna. The portion was BIG and I had to take half home afterwards. Since it was Friday, a local Guitar musician played classical melodies for the patrons. Service was very friendly and fast and I believe the owner was our waitress. This was my second stop at Troia's and the only concern I have is depending on day of the week and time, the wait staff tends to pay more attention to locals sitting at the bar. This trip was definitely a better experience but based upon other people's reviews about wait staff I feel the owner needs to fix this issue.

This was certainly a disappointment. The food was only subpar, at best. The serving size was small and the prices too high for what was available. Would not eat here again.

Troia's is my favorite restaurant in Georgetown. I stayed in Georgetown twice this past year and both times dined at Troia's (as well as all the other restaurants in town - not a difficult feat as I believe there's 4 total :P ). The ambiance is lovely, it's super warm and cozy in there and I think it's fitting for either a date or with your family, both of which I've done. The service is very friendly and homey and the food has always been delicious. The shared pasta plates are perfect for a family and also very price friendly - $30 for a huge plate that would feed 3-4 + it comes with a salad. Their wine list is small but comprehensive and the bread and butter are warm and constantly refilled. I'm very happy with Troia's and will continue to dine there each time I am in Georgetown!

FIVE stars? Was I hallucinating, in a coma, or did I miss the entrance to this place? At first glance, things seemed kind of charming and quirky but upon further inspection the poorly painted yellow walls, the dirty carpet and the cheap run down plastic tablecloths changed those initial perceptions in a hurry. The menu was SO limited with all entrees pasta centric. Spaghetti, penne, Alfredo, lasagne, meatballs were the highlights, and the shrimp scampi a special for the night. As soon as our salads arrived I knew we were in trouble - all iceburg lettuce with cold, hard tasteless tomatoes. The side of sliced bread was doughy, with no tell tale crisp crust and no flavor. My scampi had a gratin dish with the shrimp and about 8 large pieces of broccoli on the supporting plate. The server explained that my pasta was coming out shortly. When it arrived I was perplexed. The penne was in a very small cereal type bowl. There was no way to really integrate the shrimp with the pasta. The biggest faux pas here was that the penne was overcooked. Really? The garlic was nasal clearing, but not in a good way. The poor shrimp were completely engulfed in the over the top butter sauce. After "playing" with my food for what seemed like a long time, I glanced at my husband and saw a perplexing look on his face. He offered me a bite of his pasta with chicken, garlic, and spinach, and it was tasteless. Both of us left most of our meals uneaten. Funny that the server did not ask why. I am sorry to write such a disappointing review on this place, but there was not one aspect of this dinner that was positive. We left hungry. Enough said.

We were here for dinner recently. I had the special - shrimp scampi and my boyfriend had the lasagna. Meals come with soup or salad and bread if you request it. The shrimp scampi was not what I expected - it was baked with a crumb topping and lemon and garlic. The penne pasta was on the side with no flavor. The lasagna was covered in sauce that tasted like it was out of a can. The salad was average and the bread was crusty, but not warm. The real surprise was the bill when I found out the scampi was $18.95. Ambiance was good and cozy. Decorated like Christmas and there was someone playing the guitar.

A nice itsy little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with only a few tables. As you would expect, the menu is limited, but it has the classics and they are made like a good Italian momma would make them. I had the spaghetti and meatballs with the artichoke dip as a side and a cup of minestrone soup. From start to finish the whole meal was delightful. It was good, solid, home-cooked Italian comfort food cooked properly.

Decor still being added - brand new place, food is awesome! Starting dinner Aug 17. The bread and antipasto are incredible! I'm hearing lots of folks who live here say it's the best food in town. Update, lunch yesterday was wonderful. Excellent sandwiches, kids and hubby crazy about spaghetti with meatballs. Peroni beer is great with italian sandwich and pasta.

There's something about our small Colorado towns and really wanting to support them and their restaurants. I was slightly hopeful going in on Friday night and the tables were 80% full, there was live music and people looked happy. Sadly, the meal from start to finish was disappointing. The brought us bread that tasted like it was from the grocery store with margarine packets. At an Italian restaurant I expect a plate with olive oil & balsamic. What would that have cost, a dime? I got a Greek salad with chicken and my boyfriend got the spaghetti and meatballs. My salad was OK, but the chicken was cold and everything tasted like it came out of a jar. Even the feta was bland. My boyfriend said he could make better sauce using Ragu and I have to agree. While the staff was friendly and on top of refilling waters, that's just not enough to get me back here when passing through town. This place needs some work.

Meh, good prices; but, nothing special. Meh decor, meh service, meh food, .... meh.

The decor is no frills: dated carpeting and simple table settings. The pasta was decent. We tried the prime rib sandwich, fried ravioli, cheesy bread, and roasted tomato penne. The service is super friendly, and I appreciate the waitress/owner's hospitality. If I lived in the area, I might frequent this place just because it's welcoming. This is a simple prepared meal, not a special dinner place with freshly made pastas.

What a surprise in Georgetown! Stopped in with the family for dinner on the way up to Summit for the weekend. This is a quaint little unassuming place, clean and bright, with the requisite chianti bottles and candles on the tables. The menu is balanced and reasonably priced with all of the Italian standards. Live acoustic music from a folk duo was a nice touch. Service was perfect, wine list decent, but the real hit was the food. Very fresh, updated takes on pasta dishes but not too fancy....just done exactly right. The salads with the meal, although basic, had a nice homemade dressing. We will be back not only for the food but for the overall experience. Our kids loved this place and felt very much at home.

My husband and I were astonished to find such a great restaurant in such a small town. I had the Italian sausage (homemade and amazing!) and peppers, and the cheesy garlic bread. The garlic bread was probably the best I've ever had anywhere, and that's saying a lot since my husband and I are foodies who eat out a great deal. My husband had the prime rib sandwich special and got a lovely slab of prime rib that he said was excellent. And here's very picky. Really enjoyed this one!

We stopped there before we drove Guanella pass to see the leaves. It's a lovely little family run Italian restaurant. There is a good amount of seating and we had no problem getting a table for 6. The owner was super friendly and very sweet with our kids. The food was authentic and homemade. The minestrone was perfect for a rainy day. We plan to return whenever we visit our condo in Silverthorne. The prices were great for a mountain town or anywhere else really.

Yuck. I read great reviews here on yelp--what a disappointment. Salad, limp. Sandwich sounded great, prime roast with provolone (only non pasta dish on menu) visions of rosy red beef slices on great bread turned into greasy onion and overdone beef with melted cheese. Ugh. And of waitress/owner was involved with a long tedious discussion with the only other table re the sauces for pasta. Minus star.

Awesome little restaurant in a beautiful little town. We shared an appetizer and lasagna and couldn't finish it between the two of us, it was that much food. The prices are more than fair and the service was great. Definitely recommend checking Troia's out. We'll be back!

We loved it. Five of us went for dinner and to hear our friend do the music. It was a quaint place and all homemade food. It was good and soup was yummy. We enjoyed the folk music with our dinner. We would highly recommend it. It's open for lunch too...that will be my next time

Given that we are in a town of 900 people, I was totally impressed by this place. It was very high quality for any town, let alone a beautiful little place in the middle of the mountains. First, the service is just awesome. You really feel like you are being taken care of by an Italian Mom. Second, the food was incredibly fresh and really tasty. My Greek salad was better than many, and my partner's scampi was fresh tasting and not overcooked. Our wine was good, generous glasses and there was a great selection. The desserts were legitimate Italian canneloni and tiramisu. And there was a nice jazz musician playing on a Saturday night. It's worth a stop.

Troia's is the absolute BEST Italian in the area. Had the Salmon Picatta and the delicate sauce was wonderful, not to mention the perfectly cooked salmon! My husband had the Shrimp Alfredo- to-die-for. Great bread, excellent service, fresh ingredients and it is all home-made by Mom... Seriously, all home-made! Great happy hour, too! I highly recommend this little cafe in historic Georgetown!

This family run trattoria is as good as it gets when it comes to simple, yet delicious Italian food. The sauces have that distinctive "mama's been simmering it all day" flavor and the house made sausages are to die for. I'm not sure where the previous diner ate,but it certainly wasn't in this little restaurant with the cheerful yellow walls. I enjoy the hand made dishes so much that I took my husband for our twentieth anniversary dinner and we had a smashing time and wonderful food. I had pasta in spicy vodka sauce and I know we'll be back soon.

Depressing atmosphere, bland food, wilted lettuce. This is a MUST place to skip. Don't waste your money here.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
