    I used to like coming here. Never again. I went in and ordered bean and cheese burritos smothered in green chili. I thought I asked for veggie green chili, but turned out I had not. Instead of doing what any normal place Would have done, and just made me another one. They decided to charge me again. This I've never heard of. An honest mistake, whether made by the customer or restaurant you don't charge again for. Its not like the tortillas, cheese and beans are expensive and they're really loosing money! The lady rudely said, since it was my mistake, they will charge. Not to mention the prices are expensive for what u get. I ended up paying 30 dollars just for 3 burritos!! Their customer service skills are slim to none at best. Sorry griegos, you lost another local customer.

    Moved to Durango a year ago and always saw cars in the lot. This is NOT authentic or good Mexican food, you would get more authenticity from Taco Bell (and your dollar would be better spent there). The carnitias plate looked and tasted like bacon. Durango does have a few good Mexican restaurants in town...but this not one of them.

    AMAZING, and AUTHENTIC. It's home style Mexican. Run by the most fantastic family. Definitely a try if you're in Durango!

    Not what I remember. I moved from Durango about 8 years ago, but used to eat here often prior to that. The food wasn't as good, and you have to order chips and salsa. They only take cash and local checks.

    This isn't Mexican food, not sure what it is.maybe a Canadian version. Bland, tiny portions and everybody there has a crappy attitude. Some people claim this place was good but I've been here for over 20 years and still haven't seen it. I swear I gave them plenty of chances but ended up leaving and going to Taco Bell.(yeah, I know)

    I'm not gonna lie, I most likely would've never stepped foot in this place if it weren't for the party I was with. My best friend and college roommate is a Durango native and would not stop talking about this place and so one afternoon we sat down here with his two sisters. I don't want to sound unappreciative, but I just couldn't understand what he liked about this place. I mean I know my taste-buds may be completely biased when it comes to Mexican food 'since I grew up in Southern California.... but I just couldn't put two and two together. The group I was with would tell me stories about how they would come here almost daily when they went to the local high school, and I just nodded my head with confusion growing inside my brain. The food isn't necessarily awful, but I feel like it's just frozen microwavable burritos with a green chili sauce on top. The fries were also typical fast-food/freezer section fries, and the sauce was just okay. The only saving grace was their Sopaipilla and looked like the only truly fresh thing on the table. It's a dessert though, so that didn't really help out my hunger. The service was friendly and attentive, but with a dining room with a capacity of about 35, that's not really that difficult. The decor looks like it hadn't been updated 'since 1976, and the general impression of the restaurant left me feeling dirty and generally unimpressed. It's definitely not the worst Mexican restaurant I've been to, but it's got a lot of work to do before I'd recommend this place.

    A must visit place for lunch when I travel back home to Durango. My favorite chile rellano. Yum yum!! Yeah, it hasn't been remodeled in decades but who cares?! Gimme my chile rellano and sopapillas with Honeyville honey and it's all good. Service is good.

    Avoid this family run Mexican food joint because there are so many other options. Don't waste your time or money. Horrible, inattentive and depressing service from a family member who can't get fired combined with lousy food made this a bad experience. We should have walked out after sitting down. It's located in an old A & W Rootbeer joint on 26th and Main. Some Grizzly Adams local told us about it and how he craves the food. He may crave it, but I would take anything else even taco bell. Your choices are beans or meat on everything, that's it. No chicken at all unless you want it fried. The tamale was dried out and nasty, taco was super small and standard. The burgers were not good either. The burritos come either covered in green chile sauce or dry and the sauce had ground beef. All locals here seemed to know everyone else. Maybe in it's heyday it was sort of OK but just plain sucked today.

    Locals' favorite...there is just nothing like a Griego's taco, a combo burrito, or posole with green chile. Bring cash or a local check.

    I think its an unspoken rule that you only like Griego's if you grew up going there. But I did so I love it. Even now that I live states away, I make sure to buy and freeze a dozen or so Combo Burritos to bring back to SF with me.

    Man, some of these people have tastebuds that I don't think will ever be pleased. This restaurant is one of the high points in my life in Durango, I live in Az occasionally through the year and the cravings for this place will practically wake me up at night. The half smothered burrito is what I beg my visiting family members to bring home for me when I am in Az, and I plan my trips out of town around when I know Griegos will be open for lunch. I think the decor is part of it's charm. I am a fan of the older styles of things, and not everything has to be the cold, franchised, cookie cutter look of today. It looks like it's out of the 70's? Great. All the more reason for me to enjoy eating in my favorite restaurant that hasn't changed. Griegos, keep on making that good green chile. (Just keep telling me how you always do if the 'green' is pretty hot today or if it's safe for out of towners!)

    This used to be a staple when I went to Durango High School, but now I wouldn't go to Griego's even if someone paid me. The only good things that you can really get here are the bean and cheese burritos, the crispy fries, chips and salsa, and the sopapillas with honey. I wouldn't really recommend getting anything else. It's fast and cheap and pretty much caters to hungry teenagers, so don't come here expecting anything amazing.
