Great bratwurst! Had an amazing chicken Apple sausage bratwurst, plus great fries with chipotle aioli dipping sauce! Great service, with a unique atmosphere! Would definitely go back :)

This place is rad!! The food is nothing like you'll find anywhere. My sausage had rattlesnake & rabbit in it. Amazing. They have more traditional sausages as well. Killer fries, too. German & Belgium beer can be complicated to understand; the bartenders do an amazing job helping you. Samples are free and small - which is perfect. Order your food in the front first, then head to the bar area to learn about all the biers! Guaranteed I'm retuning.

Absolutely Blown Away! i decided last minute to try Wurstkuche, as its really close to my office and I had heard great things. I was a tad bit confused when I walked in. You see all of the sausages (grab a menu for some more information), and then you walk to the host stand and order what you want. I knew I wanted to try the duck sausage (which also had bacon and jalapenos inside). I asked the host what he would put on top of it. He recommended the caramelized onions and hot peppers, so I obliged. I also ordered a small order of fries with 2 dipping sauces (1 is complimentary, an extra is 75 cents). I tried the Thai Peanut and the Bacon dipping sauces. You walk down a winding hallway to a very large seating area. Its set up very similar to a German Beer Garden, which I think its really cool. Each of the large tables, and a few of the smaller tables have their selections of Mustards/Ketchup (about 6 total). The look/feel of the restaurant is very smooth, clean, and modern (which I love). I even noticed a DJ booth over to the side. About the food: My sausage was incredible. Perfectly juicy, large enough for a full meal, and the vegetables on top (onions and peppers) were very fresh. The bun was great, not super dense, and warmed. The fries. Oh my.. the fries. The fries were PERFECT. Amazingly crispy, cut thick, and a perfect portion. I was also happy with my dipping sauce selection. The Thai Peanut is definately a must try! The service: Fantastic. There were two ladies walking around asking lots of questions about the food, giving advice for future orders, and just presenting great smiles around. I will certainly be back, as I was wowed by my experience!

Every time we visited LA, we tried to make time for Wurstkuche. So when I was walking to the bus one afternoon and saw the name on a downtown Denver building, I could hardly believe it! I visited soon after it opened, and I've returned many times since. It's stylish (and eerily similar to the original--triangle building and all). They have great frites and sauces. There are good sausages, including great vegan options made in-house. There's Duchess de Bourgougne on tap. The whole beer list is good. There are dispensers of cucumber water around the room. The DJs are always great. What more could you want? A patio? Got that too! So glad this is here and close to home.

I'm really impressed! This place went above and beyond my expectations, considering I don't usually eat bratwursts. I came in around 10PM Wednesday night and placed an order. The food was all piping hot and fresh (including the fries!). The fries were a thick cut and delicious. The place has a cool atmosphere, and several different sauces that you can put on your food! I'll definitely be going back. PS: the staff was friendly and helpful.

I like this place. It reminds me of a modernized, deconstructed German better garden. The sausages are good, and the beer selection compliments it well. A basic sausage in a bun and a basic beer can be had for $10, a good value, considering how nice the place us for hanging out. But a more expensive beer and specialty sausage can easily put you close to $20 for something that is committed fast food and inexpensive in Germany. My one serious complaint is the lack of a good German sweet mustard, like those found in every biergarten. They have a selection of 5 mustards, but none compliment a good bratwurst like a good German mustard.

If you haven't been and you love meat, it's time you visit. This was an all around awesome experience on all 3 occasions I've been here. Service has always been amazing and notably if Matt is bartending his suggestions for you flavor profile is really spot on. All the food here it's amazing and I asked, all nitrate free and wholesome cured meats that someone put hard work and ingenuity into the making of it, and I really appreciate that. Parking isn't too hard and if you've ridden your bike and forget your lock... They actually have locks here you can borrow. Legit service, legit sausage and legit awesome beer, all poured into the correct glass for beer to fit the right person. Rickey also at the bar is an awesome judge of flavor for the personal taste. They have some talent for choices and that's refreshing when all the beers are literally in another language but delicious.

Sausage, beer and extra crispy fries? How could you ever go wrong?! They have classic, gourmet, and exotic sausages. Honestly I want to try them all! From classic bratwurst to exotic lamb and Mediterranean spices, they take great care to make sure anything you get is perfectly cooked, topped with your choice of caramelized onions, sauerkraut, sweet or spicy peppers, and bundled up in a soft, warm bun! YUM! They have tons of condiments too for the fries and the sausages. Think all the different kinds of mustards in the world haha. Furthermore the beer selection is great and the glasses they use are awesome as well. :)

The FRIES. The fries, the fries, the fries.... the fries. These were undoubtedly the best fries I've ever had in my life. ORDER THE FRIES! So here's how it works. It's counter service. When you walk in, you will immediately happen upon a display case full of sausages. The friendly face behind the counter is the bartender, from whom you will order a refreshing Belgian or German beer. You receive your beer immediately, as is my preference, the sooner the better. The friendly face beside your bartender, behind the register, will take your food order. There are menus available at the counter. You'll get to choose your sausage, and also your toppings. You will at this point want to ensure you order a large ("Groot") order of the Belgian fries WITH the truffle oil! Then you get a number and you are off on your journey down the longest restaurant hallway in history, to the dining area. Someone will run your food out to you in two shakes of a lamb's tail. When we were there, there was a DJ, which seemed a little silly because there were only about 30 people in the dining area at the time (early Friday evening, like 6pm). I'm sure it lends to the mood when things pick up a bit. We ordered the vegetarian sausages. I got the apple sage, and my companion got the spicy one... want to say chipotle? I got sweet peppers and he got spicy peppers. His was a little too spicy for him. Idk if it was the peppers or the sausage itself, or the combination of both. But it seemed deliciously uncomfortable. My sausage was great. The fries obviously were my favorite part. They are thick-cut, but somehow without the foibles of all other thick cut fries (the dense, kind of soggy ones you hold up at one end and they bend flaccidly toward the floor). Instead, the outer texture is perfectly crisp and contains a fluffy starchy cloud of delight. The truffle oil just took them to another level. This is my new end-of-the-night, go-to spot for grub.

As part of a Yelp event we tried Wurstküche this past Friday. I enjoyed it. They have a great selection of beers, a newly renovated space, outstanding outside areas, and skylights to bring the light into the building. It's obvious no expense has been spared in the renovation of this old Denver building; it was close to a complete gut/renovate. A new structure has been built behind the old to house the prep kitchen and the bathroom. A deck with outdoor seating provides a view back toward the baseball stadium. You wait in line at the front to order your dinner - or just sit down and get beers and go up later to order food. A large glass case shows all the different types of sausages, and they are cooked to order. We tried several samples but in the end went with the basics - Bratwurst. It was tasty, cooked to perfection, and the optional toppings (fried onions, peppers) added to the flavor. The fries were tasty, but I didn't particularly like the truffle oil (optional) on mine. I'd stick with the basics. This is the third location for this business; the first two are in Los Angeles, and are popular with Yelpers. Note - this is a variant of "fast casual"; no table service, you get up to order your food, get a number, and the food it brought to you. Want more? Repeat the process. With many long tables, reminiscent of a German beer-hall environment, this is a great place for large groups, and meet-ups where folks arrive and leave at different times. I'll be back. A great place to meet up with friends before a baseball game. (And note; it's only a 5-6 block walk to Coors Field from here. If you park east of Broadway, most parking is free after 4PM on the streets, and always free on Sunday). Save the $5-$10 on parking and get another beer or two! And, as a final note, Wurstküche occupies the former location of the Denver Triangle, which for 30 years or so was the only gay leather bar in Denver. It only goes to show you that some things never change; it's still a location to find a high quality selection of sausages, of different sizes, colors, and flavors.

Food quiz: What do the following food items have in common: kale; Brussels sprouts; salted caramel; gourmet hot dogs? Yup. You're right, you brilliant foodie, you. . . . They're all recent food crazes. Well, Wurstkuche's cool cause they're the only one I know that offers their tube steak for raw retail sale to the hungry public. Ummm. Bratwurst? I'll take a six-pack to go. Rabbit? Lamb? Why sure. The kids aren't home to cry about it. My faves? The traditional bratwurst and the hot Italian. Oh, and those double fried potatoes . . . da bomb. And it all goes down so easily with just a pint or two of their fine (but I gotta say) pretty 'spensive German brews.

I wish I went here sooner! They have every neat beer known possible, including the cool glassware. I had the classic paulaner with my Denver passport and a brat! Ahhhhhh, sooooo good! We also had the frites, which were amazing with the chipotle aioli sauce. I will be back again, and again and again.

For those of you who don't know about Wurstküche, let me blow your mind: it's literally a "sausage kitchen" that's better than Biker Jim's or Über Sausage or any other sausage place you might know. Its first 2 locations are in Los Angeles (and its not surprising that the 3rd is in our beer- and sausage-loving town of Denver). Having lived in LA, I can also tell you they've got a line out the door and a huge following. "Why?" -- you may ask. Let me tell you: -The sausages are absolutely f'in delicious. -The fries are the best fries you'll ever have. -There's an awesome selection of real German and Belgian beer. -The "dining room" is a really well-designed, open space with lots of natural wood, long beer-hall-style tables, and its own bar. -It's open 11am-midnight every day, and I spotted a DJ table, so it's a great late-night hangout spot. THE FOOD You really can't go wrong with any of the sausage here. My personal favorites are: - Bratwurst (typical German sausage; great with onions and sauerkraut) - Louisiana Hot Link (if you want something spicy) - Pheasant with Herbs de Provence (mild and herby) - Sun-Dried Tomato and Mozzarella (juicy and delicious) AND THE FRIES!! Oh my god, the fries -- do NOT forget to get some fries. Let me tell you about these fries. These are the best fries you'll ever have. They're thick, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and sprinkled with big flecks of salt. Wurstküche goes through a long process to make these so good: soaking them overnight to get rid of the starchiness, blanching them, and then frying them 3 times. And you can choose from 10 different sauces to go on the side! (I recommend trying the Pesto Mayo.) THE BEER One of my favorite things about Wurstküche is the selection of real German and Belgian beers. None of this "German-style" or "Belgian-style" crap that doesn't taste anything like the originals (sorry, I'm not sorry). I highly recommend the Warsteiner Dunkel (a traditional German dark beer with notes of toffee, coffee, and nuts). And my personal favorite is the Weihenstephaner Dunkelweizen (I know, it's a mouthful). It tastes like a dark hefeweizen (so it's sweet and wheaty), and in my opinion, it's one of the best beers ever -- and Beer Advocate agrees. HOW IT WORKS Wurstküche works like this: You walk in and order at the front counter. Then you walk down the hall into the "dining room" and sit down at a table. And as I mentioned, this space is pretty great. It's a well-designed, open room with lots of natural wood, long beer-hall-style tables, and its own bar (so you don't have to go back to the front to order more food/drinks). There's also a great outdoor space that's perfect for the coming warm weather. P.S. You can buy the sausages to cook at home. Yes, you heard it right. At 30% off the list price, they'll wrap up the sausages in paper and you can take them home.

After a full day of binge drinking and shinanagins, we ended up at the German sasague restraunt! Let me tell you people, the wieners at this place are awesome! We had the pleasure of meeting a very awesome guy named John, who we then forced to be our friend. They have coloring on the tables and we took full advantage of the entire table ans colored the whole thing! Basically it was just a great place to be shit faced. We love this place. And we love German John! Thanks for a fantastic time!

I did like Wurstküche, but I didn't love it. And I didn't like it more than Biker Jim's, so there. What I did like was the friendly and eager-to-help-first-time-customers staff at the ordering counter, the selection of sausages (which ranges from standbys to the more creative and unexpected choices), the space and those gosh dang fries! At the great recommendation of one of the staff members, I got the mango jalapeno with onions and sweet peppers and it was super delicious. The sausage had awesome flavor. Tip: Don't skip the fries. They are thick-cut crispy-golden perfection. I wasn't that wowed by the beers. I tried a few before choosing a dubbel and though I liked a few of them, I didn't love any of them. Also, we found our interaction with the bartender to be kind of awkward. If I found myself at Wurstküche again, I wouldn't be disappointed, but if I myself was choosing a place to grab a pre-Rockies dog and beer, I'd choose Biker Jim's.

I'm casting my vote for a name change to sore eyes for beer and brats. Dear Germany, I write on behalf of Denver. Is it not a problem when the cheapest beer is more expensive then the most expensive dinner option? Who does that? I'm guessing the kegs are lined with gold and silver from Germany. This will surely start some beer conspiracy theories. Seriously, let me know when the beer prices come back to earth and I'll come back. Until then, I'm trying a $7 brat (which makes your beer more than that) and going elsewhere for beer. My suggestion, come for lunch and you won't even be thinking about beer. Later sore eyes for beer and brats!

  • Frances G.

There's an endless beer list with a specific focus on Belgian beer. There's a fast line that walks you though the gourmet brat ordering process. And there's the best GD Belgian fries you might ever have. With a wide variety of different brats, it's hard to narrow in on just one. Then the decision process becomes exceedingly more difficult when they present the plethora of sauce choices. Chipotle ranch, bleu cheese and bacon, and oh - don't get me started on the house made ketchups. Basically, Wurstküche is amazing.

Yu! I didn't think I liked German food but these sausages are great! We tried the rattlesnake /rabbit, jalapeño mango, and bockwurst with a small fries. We paired this with a bitburger (?) Beer. It all paired really well together. Most of the staff was friendly, they quickly remove any garbage which is awesome. The guy at the front counter could have been more welcoming.

Wurstküche is awesome! Sausages here are outstanding. I wish I could remember the name of mine, it was spicy and extra awesome with peppers and caramelized onions on top, about $7. Great sauces are available nearby. Fries are fresh. The beers here are outstanding, I had a dunkel. Totally coming back soon.

I came here for the soft opening last night. They were sponsoring a charity event for community youths. Already right there I'm like, "This business is Legit." I got invited because I have a way with words. Right from the walk in the door I was like this place is going to be dope! When you first walk in you see preps cooking meats and as you turn your head down the line you see a huge glass fridge full of every kind of sausage you can think of. Before I could read all of them, a man came up to me and handed me a menu and flipped it over and said, "Please, choose a beer." You don't have to tell me twice. They have a HUGE selection of imported beers, mostly from Germany. Did I just step into the American version of Oktoberfest? Yes, yes I did. I decided on a delicious cider. Then, the previous man from earlier told me to pick a sausage and a sauce for my fries. I was told by an employee to get the lamb with some sauce I can't pronounce but it's made with Greek yogurt. My southern girl in me pushed me to get the hot link with caramalized onions and spicy peppers. My friend got the tomato basil. I got the blue cheese/bacon and sun dried tomato mayo for fry sauces. After "paying", we walked around a long hallway to HEAVEN! This place is soooo dope. They have lots of comfy but open booths. There's a mini room next to the Dj booth for a little VIP are or private section. We sat in the main area where there is a bunch of luxury picnic tables and benches. One of the servers told me it to great a feel of getting to know your community and to make new friends. GENIUS! Our food came out hot fresh and ready within 10-15 minutes. Nothing was less than amazing. I understand this place will eventually be ultra-loungy. They had a nice DJ playing contemporary groove music. They also have a huge bar with tons of beer taps in the back. This place is totally my style and I will be back. This may be my new favorite bar. Davonte is the best. Five star service all around!

I have been to German restaurants in Texas, but this is the first time I have been to a German based restaurant in Colorado. Wurstkuche definitely met my expectations for decent and quality food. I very much enjoyed my experience here. If I ever had a craving for some German sausages, I will definitely return to this establishment. I think that the sausages that were available for tasting were great and unique. They definitely have the classics like German brats, chicken & apple, and Polish sausages. The selection of 'exotic' sausages was intriguing and quite delicious. One thing I liked about the food experience was seeing all of their uncooked sausages ready-to-go in a display case. If I were to go back and chose protein to eat, I would definitely go with the classic German brat. It has always been one of my favorites. Although the sausages were on point, I would have to say that the fries were average. I usually love truffle oil, but the truffle oil fries here did not do it for me. During my experience here, I also sampled a few of their gourmet sodas and beers. All of the options for Fentimans' gourmet soda were quite tasty. But, they are a little bit pricey. And if you are watching your health and sugar in-take, you might as well skip the sugary beverages. I loved the beer selection here. I was especially a fan of the Belgian beers. I really enjoyed the Floris Apple Ale. It was very light and crisp. It is a great alternative to a cider. In conclusion, Wurstkuche is a solid establishment to try if you are feeling a little bit adventurous.

Was in Denver for a day and had to make the most of it. We walked from Colfax Ave where we were staying to check Wurstküche out and I'm very happy we did because we will be going back when in town again. Here were several of the standout highlights to me: - Great service/cool people that were helpful and informative and made me feel welcome having never been there before. Not sure who the girl was that helped us (she might have been a manager) but she was really nice and came to check on tables to make sure everything was good. - Outstanding German beer selection. I didn't check the menu to see what other selections were available as far as local brews, but they might have had those as well. I had the Aventinus Schneider-Weiss and it came in a big, custom mug off the tap. It was perfect. - Interesting twist on brats that I haven't encountered before I came here. Maybe this kind of thing is normal for locals, but not for me. I had the rattlesnake/rabbit combo and it was fantastic. You also get a choice of peppers, sauerkraut, and sauces. There are also a variety of mustards on the tables. The fries rival the brats as other reviewers have said here. Definitely warrants multiple trips to try everything. For two people, it came out to under fifty dollars including tip, big glasses of premium German beer, and plenty of food. - Cool ambience--architecture took some inspiration from German art like bauhaus, etc. (naturally), a DJ was there, and lots of brick and long corridors made this place an even more interesting experience. Also, an outdoor area that is easily accessible from inside. The place felt a little like an airplane hangar in this way. Bathrooms were separate but used shared sinks, which led to some cool encounters. - Impressive bar. Again, more minimalist stylings and lots of glassware like the boot, snifters, hefeweizen, and everything you'd expect from a place with German stylings. The only thing I can see is that some people might find some pretense here and there. But they can miss out and it won't hurt this place one bit. When I go back, it will be with more people. Hopefully these guys will keep doing what they're doing because it is great and a fun experience all around. I highly recommend it.

I was disappointed in this place. First - you walk down a dark and twisty hallway, unsure about where you're going. Only to land in a dark room. The brat was delicious, but sides are a la carte and beer prices are more than your food. It also has a night club feel which doesn't really jive with sausages. I may try returning for lunch and seeing if the vibe is more normal/Denver.

Great to have a place like this in the area. We went for lunch on a random weekday and it was empty, but I can assume it gets pretty busy on Friday and Saturday. Food was solid, huge beer selection. If they were to add more dining options it would be similar to Radegast in Brooklyn. That's a good thing!

Just saw this place on Yelp yesterday and had to check it out. There's no good German food in Colorado Springs so this enticing. I was a bit worried it would be too "chainy" for me, but I'd give it a whirl. First off, like other reviewers have said, I like that you get your beer IMMEDIATELY! Then, you place your food order and have a seat until it arrives. They have a large and quality selection of German and Belgian beers on tap, but not super extensive. I had a Gouden Corolus which I've never found elsewhere I on tap for $7. Quite reasonable for that one. Now for the food. My wife had the bockwurst and said it tasted just like we had on our recent trip to Germany/Austria. I had the rattlesnake and rabbit sausage which was firm in texture, tasty and not at all "gamey". Also, I had the pheasant provance which was a heavenly savory tasting sausage that had a "Thanksgiving meal" impression from the first bite. Imagine a super juicy bird flavor with the savory taste of herbed stuffing. Really impressive! Although I enjoy traditional tastes, these sausages were all excellent, creative and tasted hand made. And finally, the fries. Before we went, I saw all the reviews about how awesome the fries were. I'm not real into fries so I thought, eh, whatever. But, I ordered a small size portion to try it out. Wow! I guess I do like fries! At least these ones. Just heavenly. Crisp outside, just the right amount of sea salt and the insides were perfect texture. Clearly these were made from fresh potatoes. Tried them with the chipotle aioli and was stunned how good they were. Ill definitely be back. Service was great, beer was good and food was fantastic!

What a unique experience! Wurstkuche (pronounced worst ku shah) is a german gourmet hotdog chain that originated in Los Angeles, California. I came with a huge group of people on a Saturday night. There's a small waiting area where they display the different sausages ranging from your ordinary kielbasa to things I have never heard before like rattlesnake and rabbit (what?!?!?). Their menu include classic hotdogs for 6 dollars with two vegetable toppings to gourmet hotdogs that cost 7 dollars and fries that come with specialty sauces. On the back of the menu are a whole bunch of interesting beers. I got the classic Italian hot link with sauerkraut and hot peppers. I also got a side of large fries to share and the pesto mayo and curry ketchup. I also couldn't resist the drinks on the back and went with the frulia which is a crisp and sweet strawberry brew. I absolutely loved it!!! It was weak in alcohol content but was delicious. After you order, there is a long hallway that leads to a large sitting area. You can sit wherever you want and there are some communal tables. It was a bit hard to find seating so our group split up into multiple sections. We got our food after about 10 mins of waiting and they looked so good!!!! My hotdog was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The bun was so so. The fries were delicious and my favorite dipping sauce was not one of the ones I ordered but rather the honey mustard served on the table. What a delicious mess. I enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. Dim lighting, very loud due to people talking and live dj playing music. I almost felt like I was in a club lol. However, the downside is you can't really talk to your party and you get a bit of a headache pretty quickly. Overall, I enjoyed this place. The hotdogs were unique, drinks were phenomenal, and it was basically a little yummy chaotic experience.

I tried the large fries with sun dried tomato dip & a bleu cheese dip. You get to choose two dips for any order of fries and there are about 6-7 dip flavors to choose from. The bleu cheese tasted like nothing to me. It had no detectable bleu cheese flavor. The sun dried tomato dip was okay but ketchup still tasted better. My family loved the large cut fries though to me they tasted heavily of frying oil rather than potato. I tried the apple chicken sausage with cinnamon, the bratwurst and also the duck and bacon. The duck and bacon tasted like regular hot dog. The bratwurst was so juicy that it'd squirt out juice when I would take a bite. You get to choose two toppings on each hot dog. I got caramelized onion and sauerkraut on mine but you have two other options (sweet peppers and something else I cannot remember). There are lots of meat options including exotic ones like rattlesnake. I tried a cucumber soda here which was delicious and refreshing. I also tried an orange soda that was too sweet for me. My dad and brother tried a beer here for $8 which my brother said would have been $12 @ other joints. They both loved their beer. What I enjoyed about this place was the space and decor. There's a large outdoor space with coffin shaped metal tables and a rock/gravel area with more tables. There's also an outdoor upstairs space. I was able to bring a dog here to enjoy my food al fresco. Each table has four bottles of different mustard options that includes American yellow, spicy brown, coarse (?) and a fourth that I cannot remember. I really liked the geometrical, masculine, modern interior. There was a lot of wood, metal and brick.

Any Denver foodie worth their salt will already know the allure of the gourmet sausage. Biker Jim's is practically a legend and Uber Sausage continues to impress. Is the fancy weiner (hee hee... Weiner...) scene big enough to support a third contestant? Wurstkuche answers with a strong YES. The depth presented by both the beer and sausage lists is intimidating. There are a good fifteen+ sausages that can be hit with four different toppings and as many mustards (and even ketchup for the heathens!). Even though the gourmet sausages are the name of the game, don't feel like any "standard" sausage is a copout choice. Wurstkuche endeavors to make all of its offerings delicious, be it humble brat or mighty rattlesnake. Go with your gut or ask the staff for a tip, you can't miss! You might be experiencing option fatigue by all the great microbrews in Denver, but Wurst's menu goes another route by presenting a strong list of unusual Belgian and German beers. They may not have that local appeal, but there's no denying that a German food is best complemented by a German brew! The atmosphere is...interesting. You wouldn't expect a sausage place to have a DJ, and yet here we are. Still, you can't argue with good music, even if it's just to accompany your meal rather than your dancing. What I'm really looking forward to is using the outdoor seating once summer heats up! They did have a fully attended fire pit for those dicey nights in between, but I'd just as soon wait for the cool air to be an escape from the sun rather than something you want to escape from. Finally, it bears mentioning that Wurstkuche is a fully vetted franchise from Los Angeles, where their first two locations still generate a ton of buzz. Their third location? You're looking at it! Welcome to Denver :)

I been here twice and I definitely do enjoyed this place. For my first time, my boyfriend took me with his school buddies because they have been dying for this place to be open (apparently there are a few locations in California). We went during the second week of opening and they were packed. It was hard to find seatings for the large group we had, but then again it was a Friday night. When you walk in you are at the ordering counter and there are various brats to try; from classic to gourmet to exotics. With each brat you have a choice of two toppings: caramelized onions, sauerkraut, sweet or spicy peppers. I normally go for the sauerkraut with spicy peppers. Between my boyfriend and I, we have tried the gourmet mango jalapeño, the exotic rabbit & pork, the buffalo, beef & pork, and the pheasant. They were all pretty tasty and juicy. But my favorite has to be the mango jalapeño. My boyfriend favors the rabbit. We also discovered that your brat can vary in size. So hopefully you go on a nice day and get a long, juicy brat that is not swimming in the bun. Wurstküche also offers Belgian fries which I kid you not have a lot of dipping sauces. We always opt for the truffle fries and the chipotle aioli and pesto mayo dippings sauces. It is so good and unique to the place. They also offer different beer selections and their different beer glasses correspond to that specific drink. The dining area does have a nightclub appeal. You definitely have to walk down a dark hallway to get to the dining area. However, there are sounds from a live DJ to guide your way. The menu is so simple; beer and brats, but there are endless choices and you cannot go wrong with any.

Look. It takes a lot for a daughter of Polish parents to let her guard down and enjoy a place with a German name. It just takes me some time to smell the place out, acknowledge all the nearest exits, and surround myself with a posse of good people lest we need to go all Partisan and run into the woods. Maybe it's the LA of the place (I was born in Cali, after all, and I hear this is a sister location), or the Brooklyn/Detroit/Portland of the space (reclaimed wood, custom designed and welded EVERYTHING including serving trays and stools), or the firepits on the patio outside (if there's a religion based on camp fires I'll join it)... whatever it is, I'm sold. Then there's the beer. One of the best selection of true Belgian beer I've seen around here. We're talkin' the stuff monks brew. They have dubles all the way to quads! All served in their appropriate glasses. They also have German beers, but I don't do German beers. For non-boozers, there's a great selection of 'artisanal' sodas and mineral water. The sausages - I decided to be a little daring and go the less conventional routes with a pork+rabbit and a pheasant dog. They were good, flavorful, but the textures weren't winning me over. That's ok, though, because I also sampled the straight-up bratwurst and it was one of the best sausages in the US I've had. So juicy and so tasty. I think that might become my default. All the simple sausages might be the way to go (at least for me). The fries were good - but maybe a little too thick for their cut and flavoring? And I, as usual, always want slightly better buns wherever I go. This is nitpicking. Because I really loved it here. All the servers and bartenders were also really friendly (I actually hugged one of them when she brought me the sausages. Like I said, this place made me happy.). I'll be back sooner than later. You'll likely find me two fisting a Duchesse and a St. Bernadardus with a saurkraut-topped brat sitting in the closest available seat next to the firepit outside. Feel free to come say hullo.

Soooo amazing! Just got to Denver, and we wanted German food...NO disappointments here! Great selection of sausages and beer, plus a great searing atmosphere. We had the rabbit & pork, pheasant, and the sun-dried tomato & mozzarella-all fantastic, well made sausages! You MUST order the Groot fries w truffle oil! MUST! I'm allergic to gluten and assorted grains (including barley), and they have a Green's Amber that absolutely hit the spot!!! First beer I've had in a while, AND it was hot outside, so it was perfection! They also have great communal seating and some good choices outside, PLUS a turntable...I can't imagine how great this would be on a Saturday night! When we're back in downtown Denver, we will definitely be back here!

Great meat and beer selections. Can't go wrong. The staff is uber friendly, the location itself has an indoor beer garden, outdoor patio, and I think I saw a rooftop. The only odd attribute was the walkway from the register to the garden area. But, I definitely dig everything about this sausage/beer joint! I was really surprised how much I enjoyed the duck sausage. Try it!

The food here is amazing and the beers are even better! This newly opened restaurant (located by British bulldog) has a great selection of beers and sausages to chose from. There are two entrances, one where you order food with a hallway that conjoins the beer hall to the front ordering station. They have tons of different sausages to chose from! Sausages ranging from mango jalapeño, duck, rabbit, bratwurst, italian sausage, and many many more. We asked what the favorites were and were guided to the bratwurst and the hot italian sausage. Both were phenomenal. You get to pick two toppings such as caramelized onions, sauerkraut, sweet peppers, and hot peppers. All of which are delicious. We also ordered the fries with truffle oil and two dipping sauces (chipotle aioli and blue cheese bacon). The staff is really helpful with food and beers and will help you taste several beers until finding the one you like the most. My personal favorite touch to the restaurant would have to be the mustards they have at the table that you can add to your sausage. Ranging from whole grain, Dijon, spicy brown, american, and honey you really can find something for everyone here. This new place is definitely a must visit, we will be returning soon!!

What's not to love about a place that celebrates the Holy Trinity: Sausages, frites, and beer? These folks make their own sausages, and have several options from which to choose. I've tried most of the game sausages by this point, and they have all been delicious. The beer menu is respectable, and the fries / frites are outstanding. The place itself is simply an open beer hall, with a small counter up front for retail customers. Small patio outside as well. Great place for an afternoon snack or Happy Hour!

Attended the friends/family opening party on 2/23/2015 and was wowed! Friendly staff, great portion sizes, and exciting menu choices! It was a cold, blizzardy Saturday night but Wurstküche was bumping! Great table/seating arrangement, very open and social but still intimate and warm with exposed brick walls, long wooden benches, and simple brown paper table coverings. Only concern is the loud music, but it may have been a little amped up for the party? They have a wide selection of sausages to meet everyone's interests, including vegetarian and vegan sausages that are eggplant or tofu based. I ordered the Mango Jalapeño Chicken sausage topped with caramelized onions and sautéed sweet peppers. The sausage was sweet and spicy, a perfect combination! It was very filling, but not heavy which is nice! I ended up putting my veggies on the side so I could just nom on this excellent high-class hotdog. I also ordered a side of their French fries, which were delivered hot off the fryer and covered with pretzel-esque salt crystals. The fries were perfectly crispy and salty while also being light and airy! Yum yum! Definitely on their fry game! House-made sauces were offered as a side to the fries, including pesto mayo, sun-dried tomato, chipotle mayo, and (my fave) blue cheese walnut cranberry. Now, I know, you're sitting there saying "mayo? On fries? Where am I, the UK?" but trust me (and Wurstküche) it is delicious. During the event I sipped a refreshing strawberry beer. I don't normally enjoy the taste of beer (or alcohol in general) but this was the exception to the rule! Refreshing, light, summery, and not too sweet. It gave a nice contrast to the sausage and fries. On the table they had an assortment of mustards (whole grain, Dijon, yellow, etc.) which was a nice touch. Overall I adored this restaurant, the vibe, and the cuisine. It was a great hang out spot and I definitely plan to go back. If only the name were a liiiiitle easier to pronounce!

Great sausages. Great Fries with dipping sauces. Extensive beer lists. Great atmosphere. Really hope this place is successful and sticks around. Patio looks like it could be fun once the weather warms up. Move over Uber Sausages and Biker Jims, there is a new sausage in town.

Looking for a fun new spot to chill with your friends over large quantities of imported beer and gourmet sausages? Look no further! Choose a sausage, fry sauce, and size of fry order. Then step around the corner to a spacious bar area with a ton of community seating and enjoy! Really dig the atmosphere here! Clean, spacious, and minimalist, but warm at the same time. There is a small semi-private room with small individual tables, if you prefer. They also have some outdoor seating. The beer menu is rather extensive! If you can't decide, the bartender can hook you up with a few small samples. Also, there are large dispensers of cucumber water you can help yourself to. I can definitely recommend the fries! Hot, fresh, and crispy! I loved the chipotle aioli with them. In fact, I doubt you can go wrong here. Despite previous reviews, Wurstküche is not hard to find. Parking, however can be. All in all, a definite must try! Can't wait to do it again!

I'm indifferent about Wurstkuche. Came here on a Wednesday night a little later with my friend. We drove by and missed the place twice, it was a little hard to find. Happily greater and looked over options. I went with the Kielbasa and enjoyed it and the fries are awesome too. The space is really cool, a "night club" vibe with dark lighting and seating for many. 3 stars? The location is a little hard to find parking and after eating I wanted something to nosh on and had to go back to the front to order. It's a little pricey for beer (understand it's imported) but overall I'm not a huge fan of imported beers. Overall, Wurstkuche is a cool space. I'd come back, later than sooner.

You know, it was good. I liked the food, and the staff was great. The atmosphere was bustling and fun. While it was a bit chilly to enjoy the patio while I was there, I wanted to huddle around that fire like nobody's business. I wanted to love it! But I just didn't love it. I had the sun-dried tomato and mozzarella sausage with frites, a German beer, and a Belgian beer. My friend had the mango jalapeno sausage with frites. The beer was GREAT (though definitely with smaller servings than we expected for the price... And I know these beers are pricier... It just seemed a little more expensive than expected). The food, while good, just didn't keep us that excited. Normally, this friend and I spend our time gushing about the food, and this time, we were talking about how much we love Biker Jim's and Prost Sausages. The frites were good, but not that crispy on the outside (necessary for Belgian frites!) If you're drinking, you'll be hard pressed to leave without spending $30. I'll be back, because they have Fruli on tap. If friends wanted to go, I'd say yes. But would I seek it out? Nah, I'll head to Biker Jim's instead.

Love this place! If you enjoy sausages and fries, you definitely have to give this place a try. I tried the hot link and it was very tasty. With your sausage, you get to choose two toppings (caramelized onions, sauerkraut, sweet peppers or spicy peppers). On top of that, they offer a variety of mustards that are super tasty! Also, don't skip on the Belgian fries! They have the perfect texture and they offer a number of tasty dipping sauces like chipotle aioli, sundried tomato mayo, pesto mayo, blue cheese walnut & bacon and many more! Give this place a try and enjoy some good sausages and wash it down with a cold brew!

Absolutely, brilliantly designed clean open-aired indoor Biergarten serving up mouth watering Bavarian beer and cuisine with more mustard options than you can shake a stick at. An absolute must when visiting Denver.

This place is going to be so busy once the weather allows it. The beer selection is awesome! Definitely reminded me of the beer gardens in Germany and Austria. The duck sausage was perfectly cooked paired with great tasting fries. The manager was very helpful, and DaVante was quite refreshing to have as someone to answer all of our questions. For those who think their prices on beer are expensive...well they're in line with the prices at British Bulldog, but with better beer in my opinion.

The building is a tad unassuming, but you walk in and place your order while getting to peer through glass at all of the varieties of encased meats. A great selection paired well with many Belgian/German beers. After you order you walk around to the main dining/eating area and I was quite impressed at how open it was. There's another back bar there and when I went (Friday happy hour) they had a DJ that was playing good tunes, but not overly-blaring where you couldn't have a conversation. The meal we ordered was delicious and was on a good roll (a must). Many different mustards were also available (also a must).

  • Phil H.

YUM. You want fresh sausage? You can pick yours right out of the case. Vegetarian? No problem. Toppings, sides, everything made fresh in-house. Plenty of selection for beverages, too -- beer, soda, whatever you'll have. The large sides are big enough for sharing, in my opinion, which is nice when eating with friends. The beer-hall style dining room looks like it would be a lot of fun for bigger groups, and I even spotted turntables... who knows what goes on here at night?! Sausage raves? You'll have to stop in yourself to see. PS - 6(!) kinds of mustard!

$49 for one person order 2Xhot dog, 1Xfrench fries, 2Xbeer (scam is each beer is 10oz for $3 more than the Wynn Hotel Las Vegas and $2 more than the Plaza Hotel New York - you have to order 4 beers to equal two - new biz model= pour less, charge more, they will come, smile). Really? When the bill comes for $49 the bar tender wants you to leave a $10 tip, or you're not gonna be welcome next time. And it's fast food type place. I used to think I was lavish eating out spending $150 on a nice restaurant. Apparently the owners found out, because they are charging $49 for what should be $25. Don't let the upscale restaurants find out you're paying this kinda money - it'll be $250 to go for a steak and wine if they find out you're willing to pay $49 for what used to be $6.50 ($11 if they had beer) at Weinersnitzle 20 years ago. Stupid is in with the millennials, I guess. Because while the place is cool, the prices are just plain stupid. The owner is laughing all the way to his bank in California.

This was one of my favorite places in LA. It was sort of a nice surprise there wasn't that hour long wait at this location that I grew accustomed to. The bottom line is that there is a reason why there was always a wait: great sausages, excellent German beers, and a fun atmosphere mimicking a German bierhaus which is normally accompanied by a DJ. The location here in Denver is really no different. It's a good location and a great option while you're out and about bar hopping!

  • Kelly L.

The food and beer were great. The French fries were fantastic. My biggest complaint was how loud the music was. There was a DJ... And the music was good... But there were 4 of us at a small table and we couldn't hear each other. I don't like having to yell across the table for dinner conversation.

  • Eric B.

The place is pretty darn tasty. The price adds up rather quickly, $16 for lunch (sausage, fries, soda) is a little spendy for what you get. The quality is great, the flavors are stellar, the prices is a little high. In the end you might walk away with a little of a mixed feeling. You'll be full, but you'll question if the meal was totally justified for the price.

This place was a real pleasant surprise on my recent trip to Denver. It's still apparently very new, but I hope it's got a long life ahead of it. I was there on a Saturday evening and a Monday evening and it seemed to be doing respectably on both occasions. I've had the lamb sausages & the pork/rabbit one and am eager to try out the kielbasa, standard brat, and duck/bacon. My friends have been very happy with their choices as well, both meat and vegetarian (if that's your thing there are 3, so you're not stuck with one token choice). The variety makes for great re-visit value. There's not a lot else on the food menu, but that's ok, because what are there are excellent, large portions of french fries that are well-described elsewhere on this page. Get the truffle oil glaze, and then have a blast trying the large number of tasty dipping sauces. Unlike with the sausages, I've tried the majority of these, and favored the curry ketchup, followed by the blue cheese & bacon, buttermilk ranch, and chipotle ketchup. The beer menu is strong and fairly unique from what I saw elsewhere in Denver, focused almost entirely on German & Belgian options. Wrapping things up, I found the staff on both visits to be very pleasant and knowledgeable, and the dining area is exactly what it should be.

One thing they got right? The word "worst" in their name. What an irritating setup. Enter through the front door to find a herd of people waiting to order? Ordering? Hanging out? To-go? Not sure. No signs and no offers to help just a herd of customers standing about. Round the corner (pass the DJ Booth is this a club or a restaurant) to a dining room and a bar you're not allowed to order food from. Hopped off my barstool and made my way to the exit. Hard to experience truffle fries and sausage when one can't order them. Weird place. Working so hard at being cool that they made actually ordering food problematic.

This is a very cool niche idea. If in the mood for sausage and beer, go here. Oh, and the fries! I'm a french fry snob. These were the best crispy fries I've ever had. They are thick cut, blanched, and double or triple fried. The sausage choice was good and the beer selection was interesting: great variety of German and Belgian brews.

  • R H.

I like sausages, and this place delivers (by this I mean it's awesome. I don't know if this place has delivery.) The choices range from traditional to exotic. I had lamb with Mediterranean spices and the hubs had a classic kielbasa. You should eat here. I hope you do because I want to come back here next time I'm in town. And I didn't even mention the beer. I couldn't count them all. And I only tried two this visit.

Amazing. For your first time here, bring friends and get every brat to split. We shared among us and got to taste every one, and our caves were the Bratwurst and Sun Dried Tomato. Dessert is worth it too, order at the same time you get dinner so it thaws a little before you eat it. Owner is really nice, make sure to say hi!

I've been to the downtown LA location a handful of times, so I was super excited for Wurstkuche to invade the Denver food scene. They offer a variety of sausages- including 3 vegetarian ones and 4 different topping options to choose from. I went with the vegetarian Italian sausage covered in grilled onions and sauerkraut. Everything was top notch, from the quality of the bun and the sausage, to how the onions were cooked. They offer a variety of mustards on the tables outside, and as a girl who's crazy about mustard, I was in heaven. The menu offers fries as well, and while I couldn't muster room for them on this visit, they looked great. The restaurant also boasts a great beer list with a wide variety of Belgian and German beers available on draft and in the bottle. They even have Fruli on tap, which I haven't seen since my time in Europe. I definitely plan on keeping Wurstkuche in my regular rotation.

  • Nat F.

A group of friends and I tried Wurstkuche the other evening and absolutely loved it. Between six of us, we probably ate a dozen different brats and sausages, and enjoyed every one. My favorite was probably the classic kielbasa. The outdoor seating is great (and I believe dog-friendly as well). The beer selection is pretty incredible, and complements the cuisine well. We'll definitely be back.

This place is soo good! My daughter and I stopped in for lunch and what a treat! I had the Duck, Bacon, Jalapeño sausage, frites and a pils. All delicious!!! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The bartender Melissa was a real peach! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Best sausage place in Denver IMO. I've had the brat, kielbasa and the lamb. The lamb sausages are a bit small so they always give you 2 - awesome! All of them were flavorsome and juicy. Bread is really nice, fries are delicious, and there's a great range of mustards and sauces to choose from. The dining area has a really German feel to it also. I want to try them all!

Very cool building, but they need giant arrows to show you where to go. The menu is very limited. The jalapeno sausage was pretty tasty with caramelized onions. I'll give it another try after work when I can try some of their beers. It'll be nice when they open the upstairs deck. The downstairs deck is way too loud being right on Broadway.

Went and enjoyed a casual, hearty lunch with a friend there on a very cold opening day yesterday. The staff was all very excited about the first day, which we shared their enthusiasm. I had the rattlesnake and rabbit sausage with caramelized onions, sauerkraut, and peppers. At most of the tables in the dining area there's a choice of seven different mustards or so. I chose to top my sausage with my favorite, whole grain mustard. It was delicious. We also enjoyed some sour beers (duchesse de bourgogne...mmm) and an order of fries with two dipping sauces, a blue cheese walnut and bacon sauce and sundried tomato mayo. Both drool worthy :) Oh! And the fries were a little thick cut, but not like steak fries. Just the perfect size. Staff and owners were floating around, making sure everything was going smoothly. A couple different people checked in and chatted with us making sure we were enjoying our food. The layout was a tad confusing at first. You walk in to a small room with a counter and grab your beer there and order food. After, you're sent down a long hallway and then bam! You're in this spacious, casual dining area with another bigger bar. You pick a table that is open and wait for your food to arrive. I had a great time and fantastic food from Wurstküche. I'm never really in that neighborhood, but when I am, I'll definitely go back. Also, it looks like it could be a fun late night spot to hang. Until next time!

This is a great place to go when the weather is gorgeous. They have great outdoor seating, plenty of room for everyone! Their beer selection is extensive and perfect for anyone who loves German or Belgian beers. They have vegetarian brat options as well. Their fries are fried to perfection. Definitely worth giving them a try!

  • Kate U.

I think the layout of ordering is odd and a little confusing, with the door wide open if there are more than a couple people in line. slightly overpriced beers (just means i'll drink one instead of two), but kind of a cool hipster beer hall vibe. I was really disappointed with the sauerkraut, with so many "gourmet' mustards and sauces I was hoping for something more than kraut straight out of a can, which for this polack is necessary with good kielbasa (and it was tasty) I went right after it opened and will definitely be back to see how things are going in a couple of months.

Had an amazing evening at Wurstkuche in Denver! The staff were super friendly - especially the Manager Alex The atmosphere was great - not too loud music with a modern comfortable feel I had the Lamb sausage with Mediterranean spices and a Tzatziki dip and grilled onions was Amazing! And then they have tons of beer! They need to open one in Seattle!

To start - really good fries! If I ever go back, I may just get a large order of fries. I liked this place and wanted to like it more as they have a great selection of German and Belgian beers and again, those fries were superb, but the brats were just OK - even though the sausages are made fresh in house, I'm sorry to say that I've actually prepared a much superior brat at home using basic sausages and canned kraut bought at King Soopers. The decor and layout of the recently renovated space itself looks good and is sort of cool and a little classy with a fun German style beer garden vibe going on which I really liked. One critique about the setup is - I feel they need some signs to guide people through the process of ordering - for instance, step in the front door and see a nice big sign saying order brews here and then see a sign saying order food here, etc. As it was, the staff behind the counter was helpful and pleasant enough in guiding us through the ordering process - order beers from one person and step down and order food from another person, but again, a few signs would simplify and expedite the process for all concerned. The main disconcerting element I encountered with the space was the long walk down the dark corridor behind the ordering counter to the dining space - it wasn't creepy or anything, just a long walk down a dark, empty corridor - some better lighting, artwork, signage or even posters would make it seem less stark and dark. Aside from my minor criticisms about the mediocre brats and the dark walk, my main concern with this place and the reason I will not become a regular visitor is that it's really expensive - $6 for a basic brat and $8 for a basic brew is in my opinion extreme. I understand that they are in business to make money and probably also need to recoup the renovation expenses for the building, but I totally got sticker shock. Especially when I ponder that I can go to the Argonaut and get a 6 pack of the same European brews for only about $10 and there are several other brew pubs and tasting rooms in the downtown area offering top notch pints for only $4-$6. In summary, it's an interesting tap house/beer garden joint with good beers, and great fries and I'm really glad we tried it out, but, until the prices become a bit more competitive, we probably won't visit often.

Great Sausages and beers, Nice place to hang for all people. Just right outside of Downtown where you can get free parking and not have to deal with Meters. A little pricey, but what you get in terms of food taste, atmosphere, Beer selection, and quality is great! The fries are very good! I went Saturday night and they had a DJ spinning and that was nice added bonus for the atmosphere. I can see the patio when its warm to be pretty good this summer.

It was fine. Yes, I realize this is pretty much the worst thing you could say about a restaurant. I'd heard good things, loved the funky vibe and layout, and was thrilled about the menu... But when I tried the food (and I got to try 5 sausages between myself and my friends) the best I could say was that it was "alright." Nothing atrocious, no horrible flaws-- but nothing memorable and certainly nothing worth going back for.

For what it is, I imagine it can't be much better. All the sausages are really fresh and flavorful. My group of 8 got 8 different sausages and I think everyone was really happy with their selection. The fries were absolutely perfect (twice fried, I'm sure). The only thing they should consider correcting are the sauces they serve with their fries. I think most of my table left theirs untouched. The chipotle flavored sauces are entirely too spicy, even for this Indian girl who was born and raised on hot peppers. Also, if you're a guy, you'll probably need 2 sausages, which may be more than you want to spend. I'm not sure where they source their meat from but if it's good quality/organic/grass fed/etc, I don't really mind paying a couple more dollars. I'm sure we'll be coming back.

After one try, this place is one of my favorite bars! You'll find a variety of delicious beers in a cool and relaxed (if somewhat noisy) setting. You can order food from a separate cashier just down the hall. The sausages are tasty, of course, but not especially filling. You'll need a side of fries to go with that, which will come with almost enough dipping sauce (I recommend the spicy chili aioli, it's fantastic. They just need to give you more of it). This is more a place to go when you're looking to hang out than a place to go when you're hungry. But you will be hanging out whilst nibbling on excellent food and enjoying the best beer in a fun environment.

This place didn't live up to my expectations, but to their credit I had really high expectations after reading all the reviews on yelp. I got the duck sausage and my husband got the Louisiana hotlink. The hotlink was good; mine was just okay. We ordered a large fry, which was decent. I liked the homemade dipping sauces, but I'm a sucker for sauces. We each ordered a Belgium beer as well. I recommend the duchesse de Bourgogne. It was all really expensive. We spent $38 on two sausages, a large fry and two beers. That's a little ridiculous.

Amazing beer selection! Great recommendations. I love their sauce selection and interaction with the coworkers. Anyone that wants to try something new, this is definitely a place to try! The place is absolutely stellar... Owner Joseph happened to help us out in All kinds of ways.... The food and beer are truly authentic and perfectly prepared... All beers are served in the appropriate branded stemware!

I'm sorry, but 10/10 girls would be unsatisfied with the size of this dog. For $9, a barely 4 inch slab of meat is just a disappointment. Next time might be better, but be warned, the portion size is dwarfed by the bun. I'll come back, but only because the staff were cool and they have a killer selection of German beers.

I've been here twice, and each experience was great! The standard bratwurst and pheasant were excellent. My only complaint would be the buns- a little stale for my liking, but the extensive beer selection helped. Great change up to the downtown lunch routine.

They spent serous cash remodeling this place. I fear it's reflected in the cost of the food and drinks. In the entryway, a glass cooler full of tube-shaped meats had me thinking I was in a deli. If it were not for the incredibly friendly staff, I may have left. I placed my order, got a number and a beer or at least half a beer (a four ounce pour in an eight-ounce glass). Down a long, grey hallway, the name of this place conjured ill thoughts of what I might find at the end, possibly a chamber with a nozzle spewing a gas crossed my mind. Happily, my walk ended in an open room of modern design and long rows of dining tables. The food arrived, hot and fresh. The bratwurst I ordered had a nice snap to the bite, but ate dry. The sauerkraut and onion topping missed the mark, primarily onions and no acidity from the sauerkraut. The french fries were great and the best part of the experience. However, the bacon, blue cheese and walnut dipping sauce tasted like gritty mayonnaise. In a city where there are nearly as many microbreweries as convenience stores, I found the beer selection disappointing. I felt like Goldilocks sampling brews for just the right one. The choices of IPA's were too sweet, the ales lacked body and the lagers could pass as one of the local mass brewers. After a lackluster lunch, I sought out my favorite microbrewery for a better IPA at half the price. I nearly cried when the food truck started grilling brats at less than half the cost from what I paid. I do wish them luck. It's a big place for a glorified hot dog stand/ beer garden.

Yum! One of my good friends is German and gave this place 2 thumbs up ! I'd have to agree. We ordered a bunch of random sausages and shared. I can even remember what all we had, but you definitely can't go wrong. The community table style seating is neat and you can draw on the table "cloths". The beer list is second to none. This is a must-try! Cheers!

As a visitor for the fist time! I was amazed by their service. I was waiting for To go. I'm not sure what happen. They had to redo my order. Apology was made. And the manager(maybe) bring out my order personally with apology and he add some free fries and refund my money. I'm really pleased with the service.

My fiance and I walked in to Wurstkuche and were greeted by a really friendly bartender. He handed us the beer menu and I honestly couldn't decide. The bartender suggested I try the Weihhenstephaner Dunkelweizen. Excellent light flavored dark beer. I would highly recommend trying it. I then tried the Warsteiner which is also another light flavored beer that is dark in color. I stuck with that one throughout the night because I enjoyed it so much. I had my eye on the alligator brat, but they didn't have it when we went, and now they don't have it on the menu as an option. I did try just about all of the other crazy brats though. We loved the rabbit rattlesnake with jalapeno peppers. I think that was my favorite. Buffalo, beef and pork with chipotle peppers were a second runner up. The food is amazing and we got to meet the chef that came over from Venice to open this location. He is a great guy and you can tell, he loves his job. The seating is community seating and so it was easy to just strike up a conversation with the people next to you. One each table is an array of mustards to compliment your brat. I would suggest trying all of them, as I was shocked the dijon was my favorite. Great atmosphere overall and excellent food. You can also buy sausages from the front to make at home.

High quality food and beers. I have been to the Los Angeles location as well and it is spot on same quality and vibe. I have made it a staple for many of my friends in quality beer and food spots. We all love it :)

So glad to see this restaurant open in Denver! I'm from LA and always come here whenever I'm back home. Before this opened, Biker Jim's was pretty much the closest thing to it. But now it's in Denver, I can't wait to go!!

Beautiful light open and airy space, perfect for summer drinking and eating of crispy fries and juicy sausages! Nice selection of dipping sauces for fries and spicy mustards for your sausage. And not one or two but THREE vegetarian sausages! Huzzah for veggie sausages with extra sauerkraut and spicy peppers - I love 'kraut!!! In general, the food is great - my one complaint is that the beer list is just not that interesting. Predominantly German and Belgian beers, which is a shame considering all of the amazing and creative beers being brewed in CO and in the U.S. in general. USA!!!!!!!!!! Just kiddin. But I happen to think that if you're going to market yourself as some sort of bier haus, you need to step up your game, especially in Denver. The standard for beer bars is really high in Denver, and Wurstkuche doesn't really have anything you couldn't find at Cheeky Monk or Falling Rock..except that both of those places have a larger and more interesting selection of beer. So, do with that what you will. It's not going to keep me away from Wurstkuche, especially since it's conveniently located right next to my office. I think it's a great addition to the neighborhood and I hope to see them expand their beer offerings! Prost!

Great selection of beers from Belgium and Germany. As well as equally amazing selection of brats. All different and delicious from classic styles to specialty.

I had been to the Wurstküche once before and liked it - so I decided to take another fiend there last night - we ordered a couple bratwurst sandwiches and two Bitburger beers....the total came to $23....we found a place to sit down and waited for the food....and waited...and waited...finally, I got up and ask one of the guys that work there if they had forgotten our food...he said it was coming...then, another guy brings the food...except that, there was only one sandwich...I told him that we orderd two ..he said: well, there was only one order placed....and I said: no, we did order TWO sandwiches...so, he said: ok, I will bring the other one....and, we waited again for about twenty minutes...the guy finally brought the sandwich and said: we checked and there was only one sandwich ordered... Anyway, it was a mess. We eventually got 2 bratwurst sandwiches. At home I checked their website for prices, and I could not figure out the exact price for bitburger - but many of their beers are actually around 8$, which means that they really only charged us for one bratuwurst - but at the same time that is crazy, too - 8 or more dollars for a beer?? I have lived part time in Berlin for the last few years where you get a bitburger for 2$/Euro. So either way, not a great experience. But the food was good once we got it.

As a German, I am a bit picky when it comes to sausages. I have to say that I am impressed! Wurstkueche combines traditional German and Belgian sausages with untraditional but delicious toppings, such as hot and sweet peppers. Of course, Sauerkraut and onions are also options. There are also plenty of unique sausage options for the more adventurous palate. The authentic German Bockwurst was delicious. The selection of beers and organic sodas is also very impressive. Plus, we even found Underberg - just like home! We enjoyed hanging out in the dining hall with great music, food and drinks. The staff is very friendly as well. Overall, this is a fun experience!

A group of my fellow workers had a pub crawl and this was the last stop. My kielbasa and fries were really good. I'm not a beer drinker, but the beers seem to be pricey.

Amazing selection of sausage ranging from traditional to one of a kind flavors (the lamb with mediterranean seasonings & tzatziki are a must), the fries were fantastic (get the truffle oil), great selection of belgian style beers (ask for a recommendation), and most importantly-- outstanding service (ridiculously genuine & accomodating)! They were so patient with us as we perused the menu, asked 100+ questions, and the best part is that they seemed eager to help! Can't wait to go back!

Food was great, service was amazing (very friendly and well trained staff- I was really impressed by it). The atmosphere is super fun and made you feel like you were at a party for dinner, which is great. My only issue with this place is the entrance. I went on a Saturday night which was of course busy, and the entrance space where you order was a mess. The line wrapped around in front of the entrance so you had to squeeze in between people and then go to the right to the end of the line. I know that adds to the allure to have a line right in the front but no one coming in knew where to go and some people just came in and stood, unknowingly cutting a long line. It just set the beginning off to a weird start. Also, there were two registers but only one was in use. What other time than a busy Saturday would this second register come in handy? It could have cut the 20 minute wait in half. There is someone taking drink orders so the wait doesn't feel too bad and once we got to the front the woman working the counter was so upbeat and helpful you didn't remember the weird line. The boys I was with said that the fries were some of the best they've had and I enjoyed my hot Italian and didn't leave hungry at all. Beware though, wear a dark shirt because those things are LOADED and I went out all night with ketchup and mustard all over me (hazard of being a messy eater eating something especially messy). I thought about making this a three star because of the tumultuous start but ultimately the food, atmosphere, and service were great and the ordering room issues could be growing pains and most likely aren't an issue on the average day.

Kept it simple and had the braut w kraut and hot peppers. Delicious. The mustards are excellent and wide variety. Friends drank the German beers, but that's not my thing so I had cider. Wish they carried at least one local american ale on tap. Enjoyed the relaxed setting inside and sidewalk seating.

Incredible sausages, great beer selection. The service was great and the owner, Joseph, was very hospitable. The patio area is awesome and the designs throughout the restaurant are great. We will definitely be back.

This pub has a great modern design in an old industrial brick space and has a very nice selection of German and Belgian beers on tap, including some interesting fruit flavored beers; the white beer with grapefruit has a lower alcohol content and was so refreshing on a hot day. We love our Denver/Colorado microbrews, but their tap selections are an interesting change in beer styles that we appreciated. We really liked the truffle fries, the bockwurst with sautéed onion and kraut, the lamb and pheasant sausages with sautéed onion. The only downside in my opinion is that the outside seating is next to busy Broadway and that it's a bit loud inside, but we got used to the inside noise level which doesn't always happen for us. We enjoyed the upbeat music and love the TV free atmosphere. We'll be back and next time will leave the car at home.

Was lucky enough to stop by during their soft opening, and absolutely loved the place. The menu actually gives you a ton of options, even though it is basically limited to sausages, fries, and dipping sauces. I had the sun-dried tomato and mozzarella sausage with truffle fries. As a dipping sauce I got the blue cheese walnut & bacon sauce. Large number of German and Belgian draft beers and bottles to choose from. Great contemporary German style beer hall feel, with community tables. Location could be better, but let's hope this place helps revitalize the area. I've been to biker jims countless times, and I think I have a new favorite sausage place in town. The fries are absolutely delicious, and might be the best fries I've ever had. I look forward to going back and trying all the different sausages and dipping sauces. And Beers!

Great spot, patio, tap list, best brats I've had in Denver by far. Central location to downtown and the ball park. Love the picnic tables and laid back atmosphere. This place is a must for a bite and a great beer.

This place is awesome. You walk into the lobby say hi to the cooks, you order your food, you get a beer, you walk around to the amazing German beer Hall where they have a another bar, and on the weekends they have DJs. Tell you what this is a great place to bring the family. Catch up with old friends meet new friends or even just grab an afternoon drink during your lunch break. The entire staff is extremely Nice and knowledgeable about the product they produce and do everything they can to make sure you have a great time.

Came here on a Wednesday night and was wowed by the atmostphere and service. I had the mango jalapeno, chicken and turkey sausage and it was fantastic. The servers were all attentive and knowledeable about the menu, making great suggestions (especially considering the fact that this place just opened). Great spot to meet with friends for a couple drinks and listen to some good tunes. Try the Belgian, Chimay White - if you like Belgian white ales - you won't be disappointed!

Great food and great customer service...you can't get much better than that! Everyone working there was great, and gave us their suggestions for food and drinks. Had the sun dried tomato and mozzarella sausage with caramelized onions and hot peppers along with the buffalo, beef, and pork sausage with onions and sweet peppers and both were fantastic! Also had the fries with chipotle aioli and curry ketchup and definitely wasn't disappointed with either of these exotic choices. We will definitely be back again!

I had a brat, Louisiana hot links, Pheasant with herbs and spices and the double dipped Belgian fries. I am not a drinker anymore because I am diabetic, so was a little disappointed they didn't have a non sugar drink other than water. I had a small beer that was very tasty, like a Blue Moon. The service was excellent and the server was very helpful. You are also allowed two toppings for your sausage. I got the caramelized onions and sweet peppers that really were delicious. On the table were about 5 kinds of mustards and catsup. In all, there are 18 different sausages to choose from. I will return to try other sausages.

Such a delightful sausage joint! I love the order up front, seat yourself concept--certainly fits right in here in the quick casual capital of the world. After you order, you proceed around a long, dark hallway that runs the perimeter of the dining area. Prepare for your hipster dates' panties to drop, as the hallway opens up to a large, dark dining area replete with communal tables and angular, tucked away booths. Theres also a live DJ spinning, perfect for those of us that had just taken a dose of acid upon entry. The ambiance was great and the food certainly didn't disappoint. Per the recommendation of our order-taker lady, I got the bratwurst while my dining companion had a tremendously tempting duck bacon something. Both were delicious, but I definitely prefer the juicy and heavily herbed brat--just perfect! Don't forget an order of their fab fries either. The order taker lady described them as "squishy inside, crispy outside"--a decidedly strange yet accurate description--and a small size could probably be split between two folks, presuming they're not fried potato junkies. Lastly, the beer list doesn't disappoint and is reasonably priced. I was able to enjoy a Duchesse de Bourgogne for about $7, not too shabby at all! It's downtown and there's no private lot from what I can gather, so parking sucks but deal with it...we live in the city.

Sat. nite was a family and friends event. Even with snow piling up and freezing temps, this place was HOT. At least 300+ showed up. The food, and drinks were prepared perfectly. The DJ, was outstanding. Looks like another hit for the owners, Joseph Ptruzzelli, and Tyler Wilson.

Really cool concept and feel to this place. Mostly communal, German style table sharing. Sausages are fantastic and the German beer selection is great!! Staff was super friendly. Woman at the counter recommended the pheasant sausage and it was DELICIOUS! Vegetarian options too! Better than most places!

I have been to the locations in Los Angeles and this one did not disappoint. The food is so good that I find myself craving it. The beer selection is vast. I keep trying different ones but thank goodness they have my favorites in Denver. Don't leave without trying the fries. I swear they are the best I have ever had. It was nice see that Denver will have a huge outdoor patio - when the weather permits it. This will be first on my list next time I am in Denver.
