Theres nothing better than sitting on the patio here, with an ice cold beer in hand, and looking out at the snow capped mountains. The food, not my favorite, but it gets the job done. The sauces however, at awesome! (Which is why this place gets 4 stars). You must order the MR. LEE's sauce, its is unbelievably good!

Ordered a grilled salmon taco and shrimp taco a la carte with green sauce on the side. The tacos were each topped with fresh slaw and served on two warm corn tortillas on a warm plate. The grilled salmon was pretty flavorless and the shrimp taco had a bit more flavor, but my tastebuds still wanted something more. While the tacos lacked flavor overall, there was a generous amount of shrimp and salmon in each taco; 'twas impressive. The tacos were served within five minutes. Super quick! The service was very inconsistent. No bueno. We'll just leave it at that.

I just don't really like this place. The tacos are mediocre, the other food is mediocre, and the vibe as a whole is mediocre. This location has the extra mediocrity of a staff member who was unable to do basic math and realize that my ID says I was born in the 80s. It is now 2015. Anyone born in the 80s can now legally drink. Don't try and quiz me on my ID. If someone was under 21, had a fake ID, and wanted some alcohol, the last damn place they'd even consider would be Wahoo's at 3pm on a weekday.

I lived in San Diego so I've had 100s of fish tacos, these were the worst I've ever had. These were terrible and people should never use this place to base their opinions on fish tacos as a whole. These weren't even fish tacos in my opinion. Overpriced too which also sucks.

I think Wahoo's has some of the best value in town. For about $6, you can get two tacos that don't skimp on the protein and have very fresh tomatoes, lettuce and rice piled high on a double layer of warm corn tortillas. It's just the right amount of food to feel full but not over-fed. I had a shrimp taco and a grilled fish taco, and I was surprised at the number of shrimp it came with. The grilled fish taco was also stacked high and was very tasty. I put my order in and I think I only waited about three minutes for my food to be brought out to me, which was quick considering how busy they were. They also bus your table for you which is nice. The location is great - right off the highway on Hampden, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is not great - they share one small lot with a lot of other businesses and a neighboring condo complex so you may have to park a ways away. They have a big patio outside that has a great view of the mountains so I'm bookmarking another trip here in June for sure.

Great service. Food came out really quick. Absolutely incredible. This is my first time here and I'm in love.

While living in Denver, Wahoo Fish Taco became a weekly staple for us in the summertime. We loved sitting on the warm patio and sipping on their super strong margaritas. We always ate too, and it was never a disappointment. I always got the blackened salmon bowl. It was so deliciously spiced and fresh. And it's healthy! They carry beers and margaritas as well. The margaritas are strong an they sell them by the carafe if you are wanting to share. The service is always friendly.

Great service, good prices, clean store. Went in with my best friend for a patio style beer and a quick meal. Everyone was very helpful and attentive. We were there a few hours, (enjoying the CO sunshine) and we were checked on constantly!Perhaps better than a restaurant! Everyone asked if we needed anything and even gave us complimentary chips and salsa we were there so long. They don't get tips like a waitress does, and I must assume they all like working there, because the service was so good and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Been to other locations in the past, but this one is my new favorite location! I'll be back soon!!! Ps....In response to a prior review here on yelp about this establishment: why would one come to Wahoos FISH TACOS if he/she is allergic to FISH????? Please people leave the illogical reviews to yourself and go somewhere else. I don't think your review is fair to begin with.

We're regulars at Wahoo's ! Convenient location right at I-25 and Hampden near Lightrail, Sipping and Painting Hampden and the movie theater. Fish tacos are amazing. For vegans, there is tofu, black beans and brown rice. Cilantro sauce is DELICIOUS. Parking is a little tricky until you realize you just need to drive all the way through and park on the I-25 side. Great patio seating, cool Cali decor. We love our Wahoo's!

Rude customer service while ordering. $1.99 extra just to smother?!?!???! Yummy burritos though.

Hidden little wonder right off the highway at Hamden. Large location for the brand, friendly staff, super fast service, and pretty decent food. I tend to not go out of my way to eat at Wahoos, but the food is always edible and fills me up! Bonus - you can get a beer! For fast food Mexican they are one of the few that have a liquor license at their locations. Tacos a la cart - shrimp - is my normal go to meal. If you come at high noon, park at King Soopers or by the movie theater, this little parking area fills up due to the large number of locations to dine ins a small area. If you are early enough go all the way down the end by Wahoos and around the corner, there is some extra hidden parking there.

If I could give this place zero stars I would but the one star goes to the bus guy named Eric. We usually love Wahoo's but will never be back to this one! First they messed up our order, I'm allergic to fish so I got chicken tacos, first bite and it's freaking fish! When I took it back I explained to the chick working that I was allergic to fish to begin with so was this some kind of sick joke? She takes the food back then comes back with the same plate that's been fingered through by the cook and says "it's chicken" this is NOT chicken, it had a small bone in it and tasted fishy!! Then turns and asks if I still want it??? We walked out! Paid for food we didn't even eat!!

I've been here several times, but I never get a fish taco. Maybe one day . . . I was introduced to Wahoo's by my stepson. Otherwise, I assumed it was only fish tacos and that meal choice never appealed to me. Over the past year and a half, Wahoo's has become a consistent family favorite with something for everyone. I have tried the Banzai bowls and those left me pretty underwhelmed. However, once I learned to order their strengths (Mexican, rather than Asian), I've been very pleased by the food. I tend to order either the enchiladas, quesadilla or the fish sandwich with blackened fish. I always love to add the green sauce, which I think is primarily cilantro-based, as it's super delicioso! Their margs aren't great, but are sometimes ok while having a meal during the Happy Hour. Wahoo's are scattered about throughout the metro area, but aren't open very late (usually close at 9 p.m.), so get there before they close and eat up!

No me gusto so much, sorry. I love the vibe at Wahoo's, (& dig the surfing videos playing in the background), but I just don't love the food. The fish is dry and the condiments on their fish tacos just don't play much of a supporting role. Their salsa is pico and that's never as much fun to scoop up with chips. I do think they have some fun promotions, though. Calendar at the front register lists first names per day - if your name is listed, you get to drink (up to 3 drinks) free on that particular day! That's enough beer to make the food taste good...

Found this Wahoo's via the app on my way to class after work. I wanted something different and I always need it to be fast because I don't have much time. This Wahoo's was perfect for that because it's really hidden off the main drag amongst apartments...meaning it was empty! I ordered a generic veggie and black bean bowl with grilled salmon. It was just fine. I can't complain at all. I like Wahoo's and tend to forget they are scattered around the city. After reading other reviews I will for sure try the green sauce next time I'm in because I honestly would love a bit more flavor.

This location can't hold a candle to the one on Union/Alameda in Lakewood. My blackened fish tacos were so dry I barely had enough beer to wash them down with. Chips/salsa were pretty standard fare, nothing worth writing home about here folks. Next time I sticking with my favorite, the Banzai Burrito!

i am not the biggest sea food fan but, i was in denver and was taken to lunch so i went along with it. i ended up having a chicken burrito and it was pretty tasty. i will no longer judge a book by its cover.

Great blackened fish in a warm corn tortilla. That's all you need and that's what you get at Wahoo's. Seriously good fish tacos for fast casual. Not fried like so many places. Plus, they have a great outdoor patio!

I'm not a surfer. I'm not a Californian. I'm not Mexican. I don't have tattoos. I don't listen to beach music. I don't have a mohawk. I don't plaster my car with bumper stickers... BUT, contrary to what one may believe walking into Wahoo's for the first time, these are not prerequisites for enjoying dinner. Wahoo's is decked out in surfer garb and everything is covered in bumper stickers. It's in-your-face California decor. Don't run away. Try the food. The menu focuses on Mexican dishes but there is clearly a strong Asian influence. I had the classic Wahoo's Bowl with grilled fish, brown rice, and black beans. It was very tasty and relatively healthy. Wahoo's is an expanding chain and consequently struggles to create a warm/friendly atmosphere that provides a unique experience. I rarely review fast-casual chain restaurants, but Wahoo's does have good food and I'll be returning.

I love fish tacos, so being new to the area I decided to try Wahoo's fish taco. I tried a bite of a wahoo soft taco (spicy fish) and it was very bland, I was sure I could taste the frozen (or possibly old) flavor of fish. The new green sauce is very good, so once I smothered the taco with the sauce, it was ok (I could no longer taste the fish). Not great for the price, service was ok.

I tried Wahoo's for the first time today. I was not impressed. The "regular" fish tacos were good. The blackened fish tacos tasted odd (and it's not that I don't like spicy!). The nachos were not particularly good, except for the guacamole. The pico de gallo was incredibly tame. Their French fries and onion rings are frozen. I wouldn't go back.

Let me start by saying I love Wahoo's! So, I used to be a big Chipotle person. Their burritos were the standard by which I measured everything else. And when I had Wahoo's burrito for the first time, it just didn't measure up, because it was smaller. So then I became somewhat of a vegetarian for a while and I was down in Denver for some reason. Chipotle in Boulder has awesome veggie burritos, but the Chipotle near the Whole Foods on Hampden is not that good, so I went to Wahoo's instead and got the Veggie Bowl. Damn, it was good. That moved Wahoo's up to second place in my choices of place to grab a bite. Then one day I saw my friend was eating one of Wahoo's smothered burritos and I knew I had to try one. So I tried one of those next time and it was the BOMB. Since then, I haven't been back to Chipotle at all. It's all Wahoo's for me, now. I've always been a rice and beans kind of person, but I love it when the meal can be spiced up with some Veggies and Wahoo's does it excellently. They also have wild caught salmon, which I LOVE. And their green sauce is SO good. Unfortunately, this isn't the best Wahoo's I've been to, so this place would only get 4.5 stars. It's still a great place to get a bite to eat, though.

A few things to consider when you read this review - I don't like even the tiniest bit of spicy hot flavor. I order "zero stars" on the spice level at Thai restaurants, and I usually request that the pico de gallo be left out of my order. So while I found the green chile sauce to be too spicy and not a flavor I'd want to try again, my husband couldn't detect any spicy-ness and he loved the green chile sauce. The Wahoo bowl started with tasty and healthy black beans and brown rice and was topped with pico (mild enough even for me), cabbage, lots of cilantro mixed into things, a lime wedge, and green chile sauce on the side. I chose to undo this healthy choice by having the freshly made onion rings. Yum! I'm also new to the area, and in Arkansas, seafood + Mexican food were rarely found in one sitting. So the whole concept of fish tacos is a refreshing change, but I can't claim to be a seasoned reviewer of fish taco quality. I hadn't tried grilled wahoo before, and I was pleasantly surprised. Not the most flavorful of fish on its own, so if you are like me and don't intend to use the green chile sauce on your Wahoo bowl, might want to try the teriyaki sauce or something instead of leaving it plain. The service was excellent. Servers even came around to the tables to make sure everything was going well. I have a feeling a return visit with a different order choice will up my review to 5 stars.

Wahoo's is one of my favorite places to go to unwind after a long week. People overlook wahoo's thinking it's just fish tacos but they have so much more. The Maui bowl is my go to item with "loco nachos" being a close second (basic cheese nachos with black beans and jalapeño) the food has always been consistent for me and I've never had a bad experience in the many years I've been going and they have hands down one of my favorite margaritas ever, not your typical marg and has some serious kick

I've only been to Wahoo's once, and currently have no plans or intentions to go back. Not that my experience was beyond awful or anything, it just wasn't up to all the hype I'd heard about Wahoo's. We were on a bit of a time crunch, and we went on the kids eat free night, so the place was packed with families. it took quite a while for our food to come and when it did, mine was wrong. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and when they were ringing up my order, I saw that it said Banzai veggies, so I corrected the girl helping us and said that I really hate bell peppers and that I only want the vegetarian one with rice and beans. She assured me that it was the right order, and I specified again that I don't like bell peppers, so I just want to make sure. Guess what my burrito had in it? Bell peppers. I took it back and they remade it for me, although I'm pretty sure we ended up paying more for the banzai burrito that we were charged for. It took a while for the new burrito to be made and my boyfriend had to leave to go to his appointment, so I had to stay and eat alone after it was ready and I found my food to be bland.

Dear, fish tacos - You are great. Thank you for finding a home at Wahoo's. While your tasty goodness is craveable at times, and Wahoo's fills that need, please step aside once in a while to allow your friends some of the spotlight. The Kalua Pig Bowl is a staple of my Wahoo's diet: shredded carnitas pan-grilled in terriyaki sauce. Try it. Love it. Get it again. Of course, if you have a craving for a fish tacos as well, get one on the side!

Igor ( the person at the register) needs to act like he likes his job. Not friendly, speaks so low you can't hear him and doesn't explain foods very well. And the kitchen needs to go easy on the cabbage, I had to scrap almost 1/4 pound off my shrimp tacos. The salsa was bland and the chips 1 day shy of stale. Good bye Wahoo's.

I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars for Wahoo's fish taco-ness. I like this one because it's not crowded at lunch time, but that lack of business has not had an effect on either the food quality or surf & skate sticker quantity. I hope this one doesn't go out of business like the one near the tech center in Greenwood Village did. I know of a lot of people that don't like Wahoo's but I do. The trick is you have to be careful what you order. The banzai bowls and banzai burritos are great, the non-banzai burritos I haven't had in a long time but they were not exactly good last time I had one. They also make a nice taco, as they should since it's a taco place. The Kahuna Grande is great but I'd have to be in pretty rough shape to order that.

I love Wahoo's (the green sauce is to die for), and this location is great. I love the salmon bonzai burrito with green sauce, although last time I went, I tried the salmon salad, and it was fabulous too. Plus it was a really decent size.

Dinner at Wahoo's last night- I didn't feel like cooking, but still wanted my son to have a healthy dinner. Wahoo's is perfect for a lazy mom like me. Cool environment, healthy food, all reasonably priced. There's no toy in the kids meal here, but with a decor of surf and skate w/ stickers covering everything that doesn't move- your kid will be downing fish tacos, black beans and brown rice too. I like their unsweetened tropical ice tea, it "fast food" that keeps me honest to my diet.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
