Living in Denver, we're spoiled for choice when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. That's a great problem to have, but it does make us quite picky in our endorsements of dining establishments. This is a story of a mediocre place transforming into an awesome one! The previous Pho Ta was OK, good atmosphere and service, but average food. With the new owner, Hoong Cafe has graduated into awesomeness! The joint is clean, the portions are large, prices are low and the taste is fantastic! Love their rice paper wraps as much as the longtime favorite up the road.

Bright, open and clean restaurant near Min's Foot Massage. We thought we'd try this place after our massages because it was Monday and New Saigon is closed Mondays. Standard Vietnamese menu offerings. Our pho and grilled chicken came out quickly and was also quickly devoured. We can't wait to go back and try more of our favorite things.

Saturday July 26th 2014, after running errands in this part of Neighborhood and shopping some grocery a couple of doors away, we decide to go here for Dinner. Err when we step in, we are the ONLY patrons dining in. Err, is this a good sign? Err, I hope so. The time was at about 19:10hrs ish. Thankfully they have variety of options to eat from the Simple Menu, we opt to have the following items : * A 10. Canh Ga - Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings ($5.95) * Bo Luc Lac - Vietnamese Shaking Beef (Hubs Order) ($10.95) * C13. Com Suon Bo Dai Han - Beef Ribs (My Main Order) ($8.95) Hubs opt to have Vietnamese Hot Coffee with condensed milk (D3). Ca Phe Sua ($3.00) while I opt to have water, then after my Dinner I opt to have the Soursop Drink with Boba - (S6) Sinh To Mang Cau ($3.50). Hubs liked his Dinner since he said he never had those Vietnamese Shaking Beef before. The Chicken Wings comes out piping hot from the Fryer. Those are goods in our books err in this scenario, taste buds! Its sprinkled with Coarse Salt, Fried Shallots and Chopped Jalapenos. My order of Beef Ribs was OK. My Dinner comes with Rice, "Chunks" of Chopped Cabbage, Pickled Julienned Carrots and Daikon, Slices of Cucumbers, Tomatoes and a small bowl of Soup. I think the "Highlight" of my Meal was the Soup, that was indeed addictive yet I am still intrigued about what they put in those "small" bowl of Soup. The taste seems familiar but I cannot pinpoint the exact ingredients in those "small" bowl of Soup. *SIGH* All in all decent Dinner though I cannot deny, during our Dinner an "annoying" fly kept on flying in around our food. Err, I don't fancy that. The service is prompt and courteous by our lovely server. I am OK with the Sinh To Mang Cau, Soursop Drink with Boba. It DID NOT WOW me as much as I was hoping for, but doable for my "sweet tooth" cravings that evening. While having our Dinner two other couples, one with their family decide to have their dinner here. We might come back but NOT in a hurry. Do take note, the MENU ONLINE some of the prices DO NOT Reflect Correctly and some of the Items are NOT reflected, as compared to the ones you find in the Restaurant Menu. Even before we got to ordering, the service was warm, friendly, and inviting. Ho, the owner, is such a nice host. He came over and introduced himself and schooled us on the menu. We ordered the Pho noodle dish with a Sapporo beer. One word: AWESOME! We really enjoyed the food, the staff, and especially Ho. We will be back!

Pho Ta is quickly becoming my go-to takeout option when I'm craving a good noodle bowl! I've never been a huge Pho fan, but developed a serious obsession with vermicelli bowls & bahn mi while living in LA. So far this place has the best noodle bowls that I've tried, they are always friendly & quick when I come in to place an order and the food is cheap and yummy! I've never eaten in the restaurant so I can't speak to the quality of service there, but will definitely be keeping this in my takeout rotation for now.

I visited this place several times when it was Pho Ta, but it has recently undergone a name change and a menu change, and is Hoong's Gate. I assume that ownership has changed, as well since the name is different and it seems they've hired an all new staff. But I don't know the details. What I do know is that the menu is much, much longer than before. It has a lot of Vietnamese dishes, but also lots of Hong Kong dishes. I decided to try the Hong Kong dumpling soup and my wife had pho with brisket. It was a snowy winter evening in Denver, so perfect for hot soup. My soup had a broth of (mainly) chicken, with tiny chunks of some kind of meat (pork, perhaps?) and a bunch of pork dumplings. The broth was good, but the dumplings were even better. I didn't know whether I should add the traditional pho sides to the bowl -- bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapenos. So I didn't. My wife's pho tasted pretty similar to how Pho Ta always was, though personally I think the broth was less salty and sweeter than before. One thing that's definitely changed is the service. When it was Pho Ta, the service was the same as any other local pho restaurant, which is to say you get your food, somebody might refill your water once, and then you walk to the counter to pay. Under the new regime, though, the staff was very proactive. The waiter offered us small bowls so we could share each other's soup, our glasses were refilled often, he asked how we liked everything, and they brought the check to our table at the end of the meal. My wife and I both want to go back and explore the menu a bit more. It's huge, and there are lots of Hong Kong dishes we've never had, such as deep fried large intestine. OK, I'm kidding, I don't really want to try that one. But there are many others I do want.

This is my go-to place for great Asian cuisine including Vietnamese and Cantonese dishes as well as huge delicious portions of Pho. They offer a great menu with very reasonable prices. I have tried several other Chinese restaurants nearby, and most of them are not worth it. This place is hands-down the best bet for a decent meal at a good price.

Delivery was fast and friendly, but the food was disappointing. Noodle bowl and spring rolls were pretty average. The beef lo mein was gross. Beef had a strange texture and flavor (I assume it's frozen) and the whole thing was soaked in soy making it too salty. It was also nearing soupy because of all the grease. Its a shame, their General Tso's was actually really really good. But because of everything else, we won't order from here again.

This very clean, and super attentive restaurant might have the best pork spring rolls I've ever tasted. The pho, which came out extremely fast, was super robust with flavor with deliciously soft noodles. It's definitely a testament to just how tasty and evenly balanced the spicy and saltiness are when I almost finish the whole bowl. I never come close to finishing my pho until Pho Ta! The staff was super friendly and efficient and as I mentioned the place is beyond clean! With a fully stocked bar, clean bathrooms, and delectable food - I'm coming back time and time again.

The place was very nice. The service was great. I got the brisket pho. Pretty good. The meat was NOT trimmed at all. Lots of connective tissue and very low end parts. Thus lower rating. Better ingredients, better rating.

This pho is delicious! I almost felt like I was ruining the broth when adding anything, but I can't pass up hoisin and I thought the sriracha spice would help balance the sweetness. Only when I added some lime (of which they gave a whole one for a small bowl... I felt a touch guilty not utilizing it all) did my fears of ruining it diminish. It was perfection. The plate of veggies they supply you with is more than ample & quite fresh. My man got a chicken & rice dish. He enjoyed the sauce immensely but it didn't quite hit the spot for him (I think it's because he had pho-envy after tasting my broth & watching me slurp my lovely meal). His plate did come with a Vietnamese eggroll which I heard was delicious... I didn't get a taste. Maybe next time... Oh, word of warning: the pork spring rolls have shredded pork skin, not actual meat. We were warned by the staff, tried them anyway &... well, they're not for us.

Pros: Very good pho, alongside other favorite dishes (rice combo plates, bun, and some other classic Vietnamese dishes (shaken beef, etc). Well lit and looks clean. Friendly and attentive service. Real furniture that doesn't look like it's been around since the 1980s. Also, love that the parking lot is big and you don't have to fight for a spot. Cons: I think we need to get new sponges/dishclothes. There's a moldy smell sometimes, even though everything looks clean. Just wash them with some bleach or white vinegar!

I love love love pho ta. Yesterday I stopped in for a noodle bowl and some spring rolls. My meal was very good. The meat was cooked perfectly and I love their peanut sauce. As I'm boxing up my food I find a dead bug on my lettuce. Very disappointing.

I am on a quest to find my go to pho place in Denver. This stop on the journey was quite satisfying. The decor of the restaurant was nice enough. The service was a little slow, but we did have a late joiner. I ordered the spring rolls and ate them all. The peanut sauce wasn't chalky and the rolls had a nice balance. I ordered a medium, tofu pho and it was good! It had good flavor and was a good sized portion. I would say that I've definitely had better pho, but I don't really have any complaints.

This place is so solid for noodle bowls and noodle soup. It's lately been my go to place for that stuff in the city. On the most recent occasion I had the combo noodle bowl. The portion was gigantic, and the ingredients were super fresh. I loved how they added lots of basil and green onion to the normally basic dish. The meat had a great char-broiled taste to it. The other great thing about this place is their variety on the menu. Most pho joints around here offer the usual of pho, noodle and rice bowl. This place has stuff like spicy pork soup, oxtail, and other more creative options, which I really appreciate.

This place used to be "Pho Ta" run by Vietnamese brother of the owner of the Asian market next door. The food was tasty and Southern Viet-style in a upscale and clean-looking restaurant. Now it's renamed and under new management and staff...The soup broth is super salty and weird tasting--not reminiscent of pho broth in any way. No aromatics or spices wafting in the air! I decided to try a cornish hen and rice dish. (And I usually avoid rice dishes because I'm more of a noodle soup gal.) What I got was a plate of regret. A huge serving of dry white rice and chicken bones with barely any meat. The meat was like sandpaper. I used to recommend Pho Ta to people who wanted a nice and affordable Vietnamese food experience. I can't recommend "Hoong's Cafe." Try Da Lat, Saigon Bowl or Pho Duy for a real Viet food experience.

Seriously, the best place in Denver for pho. I'm from Seattle, and spent many dreary afternoons munching down noodles in my hometown--I know my pho. When I first moved here two years ago, I tried the best pho places in town, according to Yelp. All of them disappointed. Finally Pho Ta opens up. Joyous, glorious noodle bowls. Finally, GOOD pho!! Perfect flavor, never greasy, incredible service. Their vermacelli bowls are also some of the best I've had. Their veggies are always crisp and fresh, the flavors spot on. You can see into their kitchen, and it's immaculate. The owner is pretty much always there. As well as being a kind, funny man, he runs a tight ship and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty if a table needs bussing or a water glass needs filled. They have an awesome online ordering system as well. We usually give their online take-out orders an extra 10 minutes to be ready, though. I've been with friends who have ordered things besides the pho and vermacelli bowl, too. Their curries are flavorful, not too spicy, and just perfect. Their fresh spring rolls are SUPER tasty--the BBQ pork is not to be missed. Chicken wings, yeah. Done up right. I've heard nothing but good things about the bahn mi. This is my spot. This is the only place I'll go. And every friend I've taken with me to Pho Ta over the last 6 months since I discovered it all agree. Won't you join us in a tasty, spicy noodle?

LOVE THIS PLACE! So far, my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Denver for a number of reasons (and I've been to many in the metro-area and around the USA). 1st, the place was packed with Vietnamese customers, which is always a GREAT sign. 2nd, GREAT service - everyone at the place was outgoing, courteous, and even funny -- this place has personality! 3rd, the atmosphere is clean and modern --- casual but classy. 4th, PERFECT food at really good prices. We ordered 2 different pho soups, and both were fantastic and stuffed full of everything we wanted. We also ordered a Grilled Beef Plate with Steamed Rice and it was mouth watering. And all 3 dishes only came to $20! Awesome. This is my FAVORITE Vietnamese restaurant in Denver! It's been open for less than a year, but hopefully it's open for many, many, many more years to come. EAT HERE!!!

Thanks to our friends at The Gift House in Lakewood, CO (see reviews), they put us on to this shopping area. Last time I was here with my parents was in September, but we missed Pho Ta. Let's just say we were so glad to find it this time around. The Spring Rolls are amazing. Much better than other places. Try the shrimp and the pork. Mom had a seafood noodle dish, Dad ordered some kind of combo meal, and I had the beef Pho. Let me tell you this: if you are a big eater like I am and usually get a large of anything, don't do it here. It is LARGE! Check out my pictures. I had enough for lunch and the leftovers will be an entire meal for me. The price for everything was less than if you went to an average sitdown restaurant. I would much rather come here any day over Applebee's or Red Lobster. And the service was first-rate! (One final item worth noting because it's important to me, the bathrooms were very clean!) We'll be back for sure. It's worth it!

The prices are very reasonable, the food is good, and the service is excellent. I spent $10 and got two egg rolls and a small pho. The egg rolls come on a plate with a ton of vegetables--different kinds of lettuce, sprouts, carrots, daikon, and some of the vermicelli rice noodles they use in the bowl. There was enough vegetables on the plate for me to take with and make a salad out of them. These are just $3.95. It comes with a nice fish dipping sauce that has a slight amount of heat to it, but not so much heat that it overwhelms the other flavors in the sauce. As for the pho, the broth tastes great by itself . It really doesn't need much in the way of additional flavoring, but I'm addicted to both hoisin and siracha sauce. The garnish plate has plenty of sprouts, lime, jalapenos, and whatever else you may need to customize your pho. The owner introduced himself and correctly remembered that I had been in a month ago, including the chair I was sitting in. Very impressive. The surfaces were clean to the touch and my water was refilled in a prompt manner. As a note, its tucked back in a shopping center near a now-shuttered Lowe's. They could definitely use your business if you're tired of fighting traffic on Federal.

I've only had the Vietnamese egg rolls and spring rolls and the rice vermili noodle bowls. From the veggies to the meat to rice noodles and even the sauces are spot on and always arrive at the door timely. I usually order and it's delivered in 20 minutes. I will continue to order from here as long as the quality doesn't change.

My girl and I went to Pho Ta for a little mid week dinner and while I was a little disappointed with my meal of lemongrass chicken, she was quite pleased with her meal of rare steak pho. The ambience of the restaurant, coupled with the generosity and cordiality of the staff make this place somewhere I would definitely give another go whenever I'm in the mood for this type of cuisine. A word of caution.....the Vietnamese spring rolls that are said to contain shredded pork are actually made of shredded pork skin and not even fried.....so if that's your thing then awesome but if not as was the case with my girlfriend and I....prepare to be a little surprised. We both tried them but agreed, definitely not for us.

Wow! This was my 3rd visit, and while the good is really excellent, there are some serious issues! MOTHBALLS????! Really? According to my husband, a pile of them in the urinal. You can smell them when you get close to the rest rooms. These are TOXIC pesticide balls, made to use in airtight containers so humans don't have to breathe the toxic chemicals! I will review the food and service next time, bit I will verify that the moth balls are removed before dining there again.

Wow, this was the most disappointing meal I've had in ages. I've been wanting to try Pho Ta for a while... a couple friends say they have good Bun Bo Hue. Then I heard they had decent Pho. ALL LIES!!!! So here's my review: Decor: excellent (especially for an Asian establishment), they actually invested in making the place very nice inside (not ghetto like most pho places) Service: pretty good Food: HORRIBLE... will NEVER come back. We ordered Nem Nuong Cuon (grilled pork spring rolls), all you get is a mouth full of rice noodles and a giant leaf of lettuce... where's the PORK!!!!???? No where to be found. A completely poor balance of meat: rice noddle: herbs. The only thing I noticed was there was a lot of lemon grass in the pork which makes it nice and fragrant, but the roll as a whole was a rip off, $3.95 is too expensive if you are giving people a rice noodle spring roll. Not only that... they didn't even have the proper sauce that comes with Nem Nuong. They just gave as Fish Sauce. I ordered Bun Bo Hue and asked them to leave out the fatty pork bone and coagulated blood (at other restaurants you would get more meet and pork ham to compensate for taking out the blood and bone). My bowl came out with 5 pieces of rare meat (by the way... thich tai is for Pho, Bun Bo usually has slow cooked lemon grass brisket), I usually like rare meat so I thought, maybe that's ok... wrong... it was not, not only did I run out of meat half way through my bowl (and I eat very little meat), everything WAS BLAND. Bun Bo Hue is one of the most intensely flavored Vietnamese noodle soups there is! Yet this was like WATER. I was so upset with my order. My husband ordered Pho Tai and ran out of meat half way through too. Usually a good pho place will give you more meat if you are ordering only one meat, but it seems that they give you the same amount of meat whether you order 1 meat or 4 meat. Again... this is a HORRIBLE balance of meat to noodle!!!! CHEAPOS! Finally... my husband went to the bathroom and said it was disgusting and there was pee everywhere. FAIL PHO TA!!!! I will never ever go back and I will warn all my friends and family.

I love this place! It's my fave Pho restaurant in Denver, and I've been eating Pho for many years. The people who work here are super-nice, the atmosphere is much more contemporary and inviting than it seems from the outside, and the food is da bomb!

I came here for Banh Mi, which i heard was a form of Vietnamese sandwich. This naturally was very intriguing to me as i had never heard of anything like this in my life. Turns out this version is more just a curried Vietnamese soup served with French bread on the side. Not how it was described to me or at all what i was expecting, but it was good nonetheless. The place was clean and the service was friendly. I just came for lunch and this "sandwich", but will definitely be back to try out some of their dinner items. Definitely possible to have a good and filling lunch here for 2 under $10.

Today was our third visit for lunch using a Voice Daily Deals coupon. It has always been crowded with locals. The service has been laid back. If you want something, you need to flag someone down. They don't come back at all to check on you. Today the service started out really friendly and I thought it would be a good experience. She took our order, brought us our condiments and then sat down to eat her lunch and we never saw her again. My entrees have all been excellent and I would order each one again. I've ordered the Grilled Pork Rice Plate, Grilled Shrimp Rice Plate, and the Won Ton with BBQ Pork and Egg Noodles Soup. My husband has made some questional choices such as the Seasoned Pork Rice Plate and the Chicken Curry served with French Bread. The pork came out cold and in little pieces and the curry was soupy when he thought he was ordering a sandwich. The chicken was fatty with the skin left on it. He just didn't know what he was ordering. It wasn't their fault. Today he ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Rice Vermicelli Bowl. The chicken was fatty and there were only 2 small shrimp with the tails left on. The fried egg roll was very good. The boba in our smoothie were hard and we didn't finish the boba. The presentation has been beautiful. The garnishes for the pho plentiful. The service not very attentive. But we would be back for the food.

This is the biggest and nicest looking Pho restaurant I've been to in Colorado, but the Pho isn't the best but it's still good Pho. The inside looks extremely upscale though. I would come here again sometime just because it's so spacious and you have lots of room to eat rather than the small restaurant that you have to cramp yourself in.

In my opinion, it's pretty hard to screw up Vietnamese food. While Pho Ta didn't screw up the cuisine, there's nothing special about the way they prepare their food. I hate to say it, but don't bother ordering the spring rolls here, they may look huge, but it's mostly filled with leafy veggies. I felt like eating grass (literally!) since none of the meat flavors came through. I would've preferred a little more noodles... The pho was OK, their noodles are on the skinnier side. I also made the mistake of asking for ox tail which on their menu is an additional $2.50. I've hard Ox Tail soup at other Asian restaurants where the broth is rich and the ox tails tender, but not here. I found myself chewing and swallowing hard because the meat was so tough... The combination rice plate was the best out of everything we ordered especially the rice (the grilled stuff and egg rolls are your normal Vietnamese restaurant standard). It reminds me of oiled Hainanese Chicken Rice! I'll give them points for the modern decors. The facility was very clean but I did notice something funny: the automatic faucet was so sensitive in that it stops immediately if your hand is a tad away. The soap dispenser only spits out a dollop of foamed soap every time you pump it. And the towel dispenser only dispenses tiny chucks of paper towels every time you press on it. What can I say? Gotta give them for trying to save resources, lol!

My past few visits to Pho Ta has been very decent. Their "Bun Bo Hue" has been great. On the grand opening day, I was disappointed with the quality of the Pho bowl, but since other dishes are getting better, I assume Pho is getting better too. However, I haven't given it a second chance yet. I might be doing so soon. Last review, I gave this a 3 star rating. Now it's a 4 star. I hope they will keep growing and make it a 5.

I was hungry for Pho a couple weeks back, and pulled over to check Yelp reviews. I found Pho Ta, which is only a couple miles from my place, so I called in an order for the meatball and headed on over. By the time I got there, it was packed up and ready to go. I almost feel bad ordering Pho to go - there is so much packaging involved! Anyway, the broth was good, the meat was tasty, and all the fillings were fresh. I'd definitely go back.

Food: 5 stars. The spring rolls were light and tasty. My curry was delicious. The chicken was cut up Asian style which means hacked with a cleaver and you get the bones and cartilage along with the meat. Service: 5 stars. Both our waiters were knowledgeable and friendly. Attentive to just the right degree. Lighting: soothing mix of incandescent and halogen with not a fluorescent in sight. Minus 1 star for: 1. No beer 2. Two Wi-Fi networks, but neither one works 3. Dirty dish containers/carts in plain sight 4. Atmosphere: the room is too large. It needs to be divided to make the cavernous space more intimate. Should you go and eat here? Yes, you should. You will be happy and walk away with a full tummy.

I now have my favorite Pho place in town. Located in a retail park, there is plenty of parking and the place is clean, light and modern. The menu has plenty of roll options for appetizers and even more choices of pho. The food is fantastic, the rolls were very tasty with lots of pork, shrimp and fresh mint and the dipping sauce is just fantastic. The Pho is very flavorful and the portions very big...we ordered the medium bowl and neither of us could finish our plate. The service is quick and friendly and the prices very very low. 3 appetizers, 1 soda, and 2 medium pho dishes for $29

After reading the reviews of Heidi S. and David T. I knew this was going to be a top notch spot; I was not disappointed one bit. My wife and I were in the area and had a hankering for a bowl of Pho. It dawned on me that I had recently read about a new spot opening and we headed that way. The service here is great, and on every occasion the owner visited us at some point during our meal. He even taught us some Vietnamese. The space is large and very well taken care of; a clean restaurant gets high marks from me. The Pho is not as savory as I've had at other Pho joints, but it's still very good and always served piping hot. It comes with a huge plate of veggies and all the usual condiments. My wife had a Bun noodle bowl and liked it very much. She said it was on par with some other local favorites she's had. I'll definitely return to Pho Ta. It's in a great area with lots of other fantastic places to visit, and they serve a good bowl of Pho.

This could possibly be my new favorite pho joint. The food is delicious, the restaurant is impeccably decorated, and as other yelpers have mentioned, the service was superb. The owner is incredibly nice and stopped to talk about food and wanted to connect with his clientele. The vibe of the restaurant is friendly and laid back. I learned a lot about pho that afternoon! And the food was brilliant. The plating is fantastic, the portions are generous and the flavor is fantastic. I was dining solo, so ordering egg rolls and a small bowl of pho was ambitious. But I had to try it all. Let's talk about the broth: a buttery, rich beef-lover's dream. Get-a-straw-to-slurp-every-last-drop-out-of-your-bowl good. The bowl was a perfect size and filled with enough delicious beef and noodles to put you in a food coma for the next couple of days. LOVE IT- I'll be back again and again.

One of my favorite restaurants! The food here is amazing and without the long wait for authentic Vietnamese/Chinese food. If you haven't tried it yet, the sizzling seafood udon and Cornish hen (gà rô ti) is a must.

I had a deal to use, $10 for 20, which covered dinner for 2 the other night. We started with the spring rolls with grilled marinated pork. The order was 2 large rolls and tasty, except there was a foreign object in mine. We let the server know. For my main course I got their medium bowl of pho with brisket & flank. It was really good and came with a generous pile of mint, & limes. Service was really good. The restaurant was very clean and even with the appetizer incident I would give this place another go.

Well, we had a "deal" $10 for $20 and decided to give them another try today. I originally thought it was better than OK but today it was really beyond reproach. First, they had a lot more help and service was stellar - not an empty water glass in sight. We shared the Vietnamese egg rolls to start and they were the best I've ever had in Denver. Piping hot and crisp with an abundance of lettuce and veggies to wrap them up in. I like my nuoc mam heavy on the fish sauce and voila - there was a bottle on table so I could umph it up a bit. Delish. We both had pho - she the meatball (small) and I the rare steak and brisket (medium - the small would have been plenty). Both excellent and a huge plater of vegetation (Thai basil, bean sprouts, mint, culantro, lime, etc) to garnish with. Broth deep and flavorful and meats tender and succulent. Every bit as good as any I've had on the Federal strip without the parking hassles or the stand in line crowds. So, all this deliciousness and we didn't even burn up our $20 coupon (($18.85 total). I don't know how they do it for this price. Way more food than we could eat - and, so good. Plus the place is immaculate. The bathrooms are nicer than many fine dining restaurants - spotless and totally updated - nice change from the pho dives. You should really give them a try.

I am in love. Could this be one of the perfect bowls of pho? Where do I begin to speak about my bowl? Piping HOT broth that stayed hot - it was a perfect blend and mixture of spices, nothing overwhelmed the delicate and clear broth. I ordered my steak on the side and it was served with an equally hot bowl of broth just for it! Delicious and brilliant! The veggie plate was fresh and perfectly piled high with all the usual suspects. The room itself was spotless, no drippy bottles or streaked tables. High class. Service was super efficient and polite and caring. I must say, that bowl of soup was something special and I am officially coming here again and again. I'll meet you there tomorrow and the next day!

I'm on a pho quest lately and brought myself here for take out this evening. I called in and they said 10 minutes, my pho was ready when I got there. Clean & friendly service. Things: $0.25 takeout fee but when you see the fancy tupperware they send you away with, you understand why. The "salad", you get sooooo much, I had like 4 little bushels of basil and an entire lime for one medium order of pho. Also, a grip of bean sprouts and cultantro that not all places seem to have. I like that they have different sizes here, S, M, L. I ordered medium but will probably go small next time as I am currently uncomfortably full from the medium! I ordered rare beef and it seemed to be a pretty high quality. I opted to add mushrooms, not sure what kind they were but they were not button and were very good ($1.50). The broth was lacking a little something for me but all in all, I was very impressed.

I ordered a curry chicken rice plate and received a bowl of water with three chicken bones and four small potatoes. The rice was old and dry. There were five people working and only four customers but the service was scarce. A different person came to our table each time which was strange. I left the restaurant hungry. THIS PLACE SUCKS! Update: I spent the night with painful stomach cramps because of the food poisoning I received from eating Pho Ta's garbage. I am reporting them to Denver Dept. of Public Health.

Fantastic Pho. Since moving to Denver a few years ago I have been on the search for great Pho. Pho 95 was great, but when they moved to the new location I couldn't help feel that they lost their edge so I was on a hunt for something new. Pho Ta is that place. Great balance, great mix of ingredients. If you have to pick one Pho place make it this one.

We had a Westword $10 for $20 deal. The decor is really nice. We ordered Bun Dac Biet, Com Dac Biet, and Hu Tieu (something else but I can't remember). Prices are pretty good here and portion sizes are huge! And the food is good. I also had a Taro Boba Smoothie, which was only 3.75 but no jellies and was waaay too sweet. I will still with my beloved Lollicup for the drink. I will definitely be back, with or without a coupon, and try the pho here (which is little higher-priced than other pho place (i recommend Pho 96). Maybe the bowls are bigger? Oh and the owner is super nice. He came by a couple times to make sure everything was good.

"This restaurant knows what the Pho-k they're doing, brah!" - personal quote At this very moment, I can safely attest that the happiest I have ever been is when I am looking squarely down into a perfect bowl of pho. It's a moment frozen in time, and at that very moment, nothing else really matters. It can be snowing outside (it was). It can be a busy traffic day (it was). It can be the end of the world (not yet). But at least to me, this moment provides me with as much joy and makes me equally as happy as any almost just as perfect moment in my life... and I have lived many... and I will continue to live out many more to come. Because you see, I have a quest to be joyful ALL my life! (I will make you each a believer.) Each time that I have dined out at Pho Ta - perhaps one of the most unabashedly clean, comfortable and contemporary Vietnamese restaurants to descend upon our city - I have enjoyed the absolutely most perfect bowl of pho that I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Outside of Vietnam, I imagine, which is a destination that entices me and draws me to conclude that I must plan a culinary trip there, sooner than later. (Slurp. Slurp.) Pho Ta, when literally translated, is meant to advertise "Our Noodle Shop" and it has now come to bear a new meaning: it's MY noodle shop and it should be YOURS, too. (Don't stop, believing.) I have sought out the best of the city. I have visited a countless number of pho shops all along Federal Boulevard and beyond. And I can now forget about visiting the rest. Pho Ta is simply THE BEST Pho shop in Denver! (Hold on to that feeling...) Here are my recommendations: - Spring Rolls with roast pork and shrimp. The best I've ever had! And the peanut (Satay) dipping sauce is amazeballs! - Pho with rare beef, well-done brisket and tendon. Best combination! Their brisket alone is worth the trip! - Walk it off inside Pacific Ocean Supermarket next door. My roommate and I spent 3 hours there - sights, sounds and visual arrays beyond compare! If you don't endorse Pho Ta the same way that I have done right now, where's your zen and how do you go out and find it? Reply back here. Let me know. (Street life. People. Whoa.)

In this area, there is a lot of competition in regards to pho. The pho at Pho Ta is OK - quite salty for my taste. The broth is light which I really enjoy in a bowl of pho - I ordered to-go and it was super fast and packaging was great (can be hard to come across with pho). I wouldn't go back to eat pho; I will, however, return to try their Bo Luc Lac.

Pho broth is amazing - rich, savory, flavorful - they do not skimp on meat portions Egg rolls and spring rolls are also very delicious Decor is modern and facility is clean Plenty of seating for large groups Large menu selection Service is friendly and the owner is a blast to talk to - he makes you feel at home Great place to go when you're craving for some Vietnamese home cooking

I only had the hu tieu My Tho to go. I could make two meals out of one order. Over all the noodle soup was decent. The soup stock is not flavorful enough. They don't skim on the meat/seafood. Service was prompt and friendly. Th

We were in the parking lot trying to make some decisions on which errands we were going to run recently when I looked out the car window and saw the sign for Pho Ta. Since my husband had taken me on a disastrous dinner the night before, when all I wanted was noodles and I got mis-advertised crunchy hard chow mein at my least favorite Thai place in town (booooo Thai Basil!), he made up for it by taking me to Pho Ta. We each got large bowls of pho ($7ish) which we barely made a dent in. In fact I almost had two full lunches out of the leftovers. The broth was great, veggies and herbs plentiful and service very friendly and funny. My husband had chicken and I had tofu and my tofu was just the right lightly fried texture but still soft enough to break into smaller pieces with my spoon. We also shared fried egg rolls which were tasty along with a sweet-sour-spicy dipping sauce! The restaurant was a little chilly (thought this was the recent 10-degree day in Denver so not totally their fault) and they don't offer booze, but neither would deter me from making another dinner stop here soon. They had a bunch of flatscreen tvs showing football (it was a Thursday night) which made my husband happy. The interior was very clean, spacious and comfy with newer furniture and plenty of seating.

I have had Pho all over Colorado and this restaurant was by far THE BEST!!! The atmosphere is beautiful, the service was great. Our server was named Ho and he funny and very welcoming. The menu has many options and we are excited to go back and try more. The prices were very reasonable. The portions are big so bring your appetite!

I called in an order for a large pho chay with veggie broth to aid me in an epic battle against an impending cold. This place had opened up since I moved back to Denver and is super close to my house; so I thought I'd check it out. Normally I trend towards divey with my pho (and tacos) so I was a little surprised by how nice it was inside. Honestly, my first thought was, oh, this place is going to suck. I walked up to the counter and the man behind the register (whom I assume was the owner since he was a bit of a ham) handed me my order. I looked down at a few other to-go orders awaiting pickup and assumed they were catering an event for an army or something. Upon returning home and unwrapping my order I realized how stupidly large a large really is. Seriously, I have enough basil left over to make pesto. I tried the broth, all by its lonesome, first. Since you know, it's all about the broth. At this point I still wasn't expecting much, veggie broths rarely get the mark. It was good. Really good. So I unloaded everything into my pho bowl (what, YOU don't have a pho bowl??), plopped down on the couch with a chick flick and slipped into a pho coma. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. The reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because I made the mistake of developing my taste for pho while I lived in the bay area. /pretentious pho expert qualifier statement.

  • John B.

I was surprised upon entering Pho Ta just how much large it was. Unfortunately, I was also surprised by just how uncrowded it was. The interior of the restaurant is sleek and modern, even if not altogether 'Asiany' (that's a word, right?) Who's to say that a Vietnamese restaurant has to feel like a caricature? The prices are quite reasonable, the food delicious (I had a seafood soup which actually had legit crab in it- not much, but even a taste of real crab beats bowls full of fake crab), and the staff extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful. I believe this place is fairly new, so I really hope that business picks up, because this restaurant could go toe to toe with almost any good Pho shack on Federal.

Meh is exactly how I would describe what we ordered. I had the veggie pho and my boyfriend the grilled shrimp noodle bowl. My broth was pretty tastless untill I added all the limes, basil and some siracha. The fish sauce that came with the Bun (noodle bowl) was also flavorless. Maybe their beef broth pho is much better. But I dont think I will be back - there is way to much competition in that area.

  • Ben U.

I love pho and was looking forward to getting some all night. Decided to take a chance on Pho Ta, and won't be doing so again. Everything about this place I would describe as "meh". The pho itself was kind of bland, not fresh and vibrant like good pho should be. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, since I got in pretty late, maybe the soup was just old. Either way, really nothing stands out about this place, and I don't envision ever going back

Ate here around Valentines day; the decor is really lovely. Nice, clean, chill atmosphere... And the servers are really kind, too. We ordered a large beef pho to share and we asked for an additional beef balls included ($1.50 i think?) We only received 3, oh well. But, I do recall the pho being really tasty.

Stopped by this place the other day as I needed to get my Pho Fix on, ordered the steak and brisket medium Pho bowl and the classic Vietnamese coffee. The place was nice and clean, the staff very attentive and good! The Pho was classic and good! Highly recommend this place if you are on a Pho Fix mood, I would return again for another satisfying meal.

This place is alright is alright. not my most favorite spot but it does have some perks. What I ordered: I forgot the name but it had brisket, tendon, rare steak and....flank??? Broth: this was alright. not nearly as flavorful and umami filled as some of the other restaurants in Denver. This really disappointed me too since when I eat pho I mainly go for the broth. Meat: okay this is definitely where they shine. All the meat that I ate was incredibly tender and the brisket had a nice ratio of fat and meat. Delicious!! Noodles: they give you a lot of noodles which is always a plus and their large is by far the BIGGEST one I have seen out of all the Denver pho restaurants. Another Perk: I would totally take a pho noob here. The crowd is mixed and impeccably clean. For real pho eaters? I would rather go elsewhere.

One of my favorite Pho Places! Broth is well executed. The portions are just right and the ingredients are fresh. P11 is my favorite along with the spring rolls or Vietnamese egg rolls. The Durian boba is highly recommended for those that enjoy exotic drinks and taste. Plus it's next to my favorite grocery store!

Thank Goodness I work a few blocks away, because this is the best bowl of Pho this side of any Asian country.... no joke!! Love the owner's table side visits, P3 small, and the #4 coffee drink to go!! Tell 'em the coffee lady sent ya! The decor is beautiful, always clean and I may have to steal one of the lighting fixtures soon.... I bring anyone that is willing to go to lunch with me to Pho Ta. I sware it's worthy of 2-3 times a week lunches.... it's that good. You're welcome : )

Went back for another lunch and the inept wait staff wasn't here? Probably luck of the draw. We had good food and good service this time. But, I did notice that the spicing of the grilled meats on the Com Dac Biet that I had might be a little less flavorful than some of their nearby competition. I'm headed to PT again tomorrow... maybe another update will be forthcoming.

BEST PHÓ IN TOWN!!! I have had many things off the menu and have never been anything less than impressed, not to mention excellent service to boot! huge portions along with a very clean establishment... I go here atleast once a week and sometimes more! They also are the only Phó place I've seen the option of Ox Tail which is the icing on the cake!!!

  • Don P.

There are SO many choices for pho on this end of town, and of course some of the best are located here as well! We tried Pho Ta after seeing it under construction for a while, and we were VERY impressed. We had pho and combo bun and both were excellent!! I'd have to do a side by side with Pho 95 (my fave) to see which is better! The staff was great! Owner / Manager guy was SO nice, and even treated us to an app plate, which was great as well. (We ordered it not knowing he would comp...) The ease of parking is a MAJOR plus, we all know some of the strips on Fed can be quite chaotic!! Try Pho Ta for yourself!! I think you'll like it! WE WILL RETURN!!

In search of cheap and delicious pho, we ventured West to this spot. It did not disappoint. Agreed on cleanliness and parking: those were great. Service was quick and attentive. Food was really good and extremely reasonable. Had the grilled pork spring rolls. They were under $4 and huge, with plenty of veg. Then had the chicken pho which was really very good and absolutely blistering hot, if the broth was a bit lacking in richness (I'm not expecting veal stock with chicken pho, but you know what I mean.) A vast plate of herbs and enough limes to satisfy a person who has been known to eat limes plain (moi) rounded it out. The pho comes in three sizes, and the medium was enough for 2 meals. I'll be back here soon. Edited after a second visit (in less than a week): I'm adding another star for the owner, who was super friendly and keen to save us money on sharing bowls, and for the vegetable pho, which is chock-a-block full of really fresh veg and mushrooms; as well as for the broth this last time, which was gorgeously rich and not at all salty.

  • Whitney A.

I saw the sign whole driving with friends to Pho 95 one night. My fiance and I checked it out the other night and were not disappointed. The egg rolls were just as good as any where (better than many places) and they came with a side of humor from the owner. The Pho itself was very good. It had a nice rounded out flavor with a smooth finish. I didn't need to add any siracha but I did because I like a little heat. The meat was fresh and tasted great. The owner suggested that next time I go I should put lime on my beef before I put it into the broth.... My mouth is watering just thinking about it! The food is as good as Pho 95 and Pho Duy (my favorite places) but its the owner that really makes the place stand out! A little off the beaten path of federal, but totally worth going to. We will definitely be going back.

If you want to go to the coolest Pho restaurant in Denver then this is your place. The decor is a lot like something you would find in New York , L.A. or San Francisco. I love this place. Good prices, good Pho. Been coming here for the past year and an excellent experience every time I go. Prices are very reasonable. The customer service is always awesome. Stop by, you won't regret it.

I went here with a couple of friends to try out the Pho after reading all the reviews. I'm fairly picky with my Pho. I usually go to Pho 95 because I've found that one to be the best thus far. I started with the Mango Boba. It was amazing! Is it possible to have too much boba? I ordered the Veggie Pho in the veg broth with Tai. It was really good, but a little too salty for me. My friend ordered the Combo Vietnamese Noodle Bowl and I think I'm going to try that next time. I ordered one to go, but sadly the sauce wasn't added or included in my order. There's nothing more depressing than opening up your much anticipated noodle bowl to find the most important ingredient is missing. While we were there the owner came by which was nice to see. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The food is good, but I've had better. I'll keep trying it though as it's a close second to my favorite.

I'd really like to write a glowing review for Pho Ta, but I just can't. The Pho here is just okay. They have great service, a nice atmosphere and provide you with tons of condiments. But the Pho just isn't as good as some of the other places in town.

  • Serenity M.

This place is has a great ambiance, it's perhaps one of the more modern looking pho places that I've been to. I ordered the pho and unfortunately it was a little bland. The broth lacked flavor and I had to add tons of sriracha, hoisin sauce, and fish sauce for it to taste like anything. That was kind of disappointing. But the bf got the combination rice plate and it was pretty good. I am hoping I came on an "off" day and am willing to come back and try it again because I like the atmosphere.

  • Ken C.

I've been here at least 6 more times since I wrote this review, and I stand by my original comments. I try to make it out here at least once a week for the Com Dac Biet (combo rice bowl) - in my opinion, no other place in Denver matches its taste quality and portion size. The Pho may not be the best I've ever had in Denver, but it certainly is above average. I also very much appreciate the fact that it is spacious, clean, and there is a widescreen TV. Service is not the most attentive, but they are eager to please and nice.

I checked out Ph0 Ta because I lived in the neighborhood and it was closer than trecking to the usual pho places on Federal. Even though the restaurant was relatively empty the food was amazing. I had pho with rare steak, Vietnamese spring rolls and (on another night) a marinated pork dish with rice. The pho broth was flavorful, rich and came with fresh herbs (not anything that's been out for a few days and becoming discolored). I think Pho Ta is one of the best Pho places in Denver and worth the time to check it out. They charge the same for pho as any other place on Federal. The place is tucked away at the end of a strip mall and even on a Saturday night there's plenty of room in the restaurant. I love a place that doesn't make you wait for a table in a crowded entry way!

  • L T.

I tried pho ta as an alternative to my favorite pho, pho 95, and was highly disappointed. the service was prompt and friendly however my vegetarian pho left much to be desired. the vegetarian broth was bland and even kind of had a slight beefy taste, the spring rolls were stuffed with whole leaves of lettuce sticking out, and tofu was extremely tough. I'll be sticking to Pho 95 next time. trying new places according to the reviews on Yelp obviously was a mistake.

I'm giving this Pho restaurant a four star review because it's an overall good place. The decoration, design, and format of this restaurant is simple. There is no over kill of anything, like plants or painting. It has a spacious feel. It's easy to navigate and get around. It seems like a very sanitary restaurant. The service is friendly. The portions of each dish is bigger than some restaurants I've been to. However, the restaurant lost one star because I did not feel as if the broth of the pho was tasteful. It could use some spice and whatnot. For a restaurant that is a big thing, the flavor. There were just some flavor missing in the entrees, they could tweak the recipe a bit. The mango smoothie I ordered was great, although that too was a bit plain for a smoothie. It was on the verge of being a slushie. The iced coffee was good as. Overall, this restaurant is a place that is nice but need a bit of tweaking. The place has a calming vibe and I think it would be perfect for a table of 6 people. They also had an option for a "table" for one. It's kind of like bar style. I don't know if I would return, local or not. Perhaps I would return to try other things, otherwise that's still in question.

My girlfriend and I went last weekend for the first time. We generally always try the same things when we go to any Pho restaurant- she always gets Bun Dac Biet and I always go for the Bun Bo Hue. I gotta say this place blew us away! Best Bun Bo Hue in Denver and the Bun Dac Biet was awesome and very fresh! We had great service and place was very nice- slick decor with a good atmosphere. We Will Be Back.... OFTEN!!! Butt

I only went here once but their food is delicious. I got the fried noodles and it was a big plate and it was cheap. It filled up 5 people for only 6$ Its cheap and its good. It's worth it,. I would totally go here again. Their boba is not as good as i expected it to be but the food is good. They have competition though with Star. Their food is really good to and now it's hard to choose between which one to go to.

My favorite vietnamese place in denver and trust me- I've tried a lot. Not only is their Pho broth amazing - their other vietnamese is great too. I'm always disappointed when I try a Pho place and they have nothing but pho and usually mediocre at that. They have everything and my husband loves their duck. The waitstaff is so sweet and funny. They make a bunch of traditional non alcoholic drink too. You have to try if you haven't!

Really hard reviewing this one. I really wanted to give it 4 or 5 stars but I cant. The service was great (one of the best at Pho restaurants). Very clean (one of the cleanest typical Pho restaurant I have been to). The ambiance is awesome. It does not feel like going to a typical pho restaurant. The tenant finish is great and feel high end. I also love the fact they show the kitchen (like going to macaroni and grill). I eat a lot of Pho'. I ordered the Pho' Tai. The price is good. The amount of meat is perfect. What is lacking I think is the broth. When you eat Pho', it is all about the broth. The broth is meh. I will come back and try the Bun next time. If someone does not eat a lot of pho, I would think they would give this place a good rating. It is a perfect place to bring your friends/family who are germ freak because the place is awesome! Unfortunately I am a Pho fanatic and I thought the broth was horrible.

First time there and we were very satisfied. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We had spring rolls with shrimp, pho with rare beef, brisket and tendon which I liked but my girlfriend didn't, and a shrimp, pork and beef vermicelli plate which was fantastic. The ice coffee and mango bob a were both really tasty. My girlfriend warns about the mint in the spring rolls which I liked but she thought was unusual.

It took every ounce of will power not to walk into Super Star, Kingsland, or VX2 in order to try this new Pho place i've been hearing so much about lately. We tried a few rice plates and their Pho. Generous portions, a tasty broth, and a spacious front of the house. However, a minute into my bowl i noticed my Pho had tripe in it which i didn't order. i brought it to a passing server's attention and he realized that on the menu the bowl i ordered listed tripe in Vietnamese but not in English. i told him as long as i'm not missing anything i originally ordered then i'm fine picking out the tripe. He was very apologetic and insisted on bringing me an extra side of brisket, so i accepted and thanked him. While this exchange was taking place, both the server that took our order and the expediter, decided to come over and try to start an argument. They were telling me that i ordered wrong and maybe i should pay more attention next time. That was it, i saw red, because prior to the tripe's cameo everything was going along fine. There was no friction, or negativity, between my table and the staff, so i was surprised at their reactions. i began to stand up so i could have my turn at a verbal assault, because it was only fair that i get to plead my case in attack mode as well, plus i seem to have better balance and trajectory standing & swearing. Fortunately there was no need - the server that was speaking with me told the other two to walk away and that they are misunderstanding the situation. i'm assuming he explained the menu error to them afterwards, because they both came over and apologized separately. i definitely see myself going back [and adding another star here eventually] due to the other great establishments surrounding them, and also my friends really enjoy their vegetarian options. i'll just have to verify my order next time, or learn to read Vietnamese. i won't mention how much better 95 is because i'm sure others will or already have. Yeah i saw what i did there...
