Good food, pathetically slow service. Wasn't even busy, I don't know if our server was just having a bad night or what.

I'm a sucker for BBQ...and this place definitely satisfies my BBQ cravings! We live in the area and are so happy that there is a Dave's nearby. Our waitress who has served us multiple times is always so pleasant and efficient! She remembers us and my favorite dishes :) The BBQ chicken was tender and juicy, the jalapeño mac'n'cheese had the perfect lil kick to it, and the red garlic mashers is probably my favorite side dish. I love all the sauce options they provide! I think they have about 5 or 6 different sauces to choose from. I always look forward to the chips they serve before the meal arrives as well!

My wife & I just finished our meal & it was great. The decor is rustic, like a BBQ place ought to be. It's casual dining in a strip type mall, Home Depot & Walmart are in the same parking lot. So, it's not fancy pants dining but seriously good BBQ. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our waiter, Cody, & waitress in training, Lexi, were fun and were enthusiastic about the menu items they really liked. I must say that the waitstaff's enthusiasm about the menu has become a barometer for restaurants: if the waiter/waitress can't name a dish without some level of confidence, then I have a hard time believing that the food will be good. Cody talked about most of the menu, naming his favorites (as my wife requested) and pointed out the different flavor profiles & spice levels of each menu item. His thoroughness made it very easy for us to decide what to order. A little bit of everything! And we weren't disappointed in the least. We ordered the BBQ nachos & the Feast for 2 followed with the Kahlua Brownie. We didn't know what to expect from BBQ nachos, grilled pork, baked beans, two kinds of cheese, jalapeño, tortilla chips, and BBQ sauce, because it is a combination one wouldn't usually put together and expect it to be edible. We ate the heck out of these nachos; the sweet, salty, and spicy were perfectly balanced. The Feast for 2 actually could feed 3 adults with normal appetites. The feast is priced so you get a better value than if 2 people ordered separately off the menu & you get to sample more of the menu offerings - huge bonus. My only whisper of a grumble was that the corn was slightly over cooked. Everything else was terrific. We didn't finish the feast so, we brought left overs back to our hotel; something we do very rarely. Even though we were bad kid's & didn't finish our dinner, we got dessert. I took my first bite into that warm chocolaty gooey deliciousness & turned into a Tasmanian devil al la Warner Bros. That brownie never stood a chance. It was practically gone before the waiter could walk 5 feet. Ok, not really but we'll likely have fond nostalgic talks about how incredible that brownie was & mentally compare it with every brownie we encounter in the future. I may even give up brownies altogether because none will live up to this brownie. Eat this food.

I have never been to a Famous Dave's before and I was satisfied with my visit. The customer service was pretty par and the waiter knew what he was doing (gave suggestions, asked how things were going, food was cooked well). I would come to one again and probably order the Burnt Ends sandwich with Banana Pudding dessert on a next visit.

Their ribs and brisket are delicious. I love their sauces too although the flavors aren't too different. The baked beans and mac and cheese were good (even though the mac had corn in it...) but skip the green beans and mashed potatoes they are very bland and not worth it.. Friendly service and great corn bread!

I got my food to-go. I think the ribs are pretty darn good and I also got the brownie with the ice cream too. The order came out quickly and in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and didn't mess up my takeout order. I'm pretty satisfied.

Took 3.5 hrs for a part of 12 due to poor and slow service. Everyone's food was cold, our 15 mo wait was 45. Took 20 min to get drinks and 40 for him to split the check out as originally asked.

They are consistently good. I usually get the beef brisket sandwich. Very moist and delicious. They have a good selection of sauces to choose from. They also have a great happy hour with great drink and food prices. Also, happy hour is all day on Saturdays and Sundays.

I have been to other Famous Dave's and liked them. Today's meal, however, was not up to the expected quality. I ordered the barbecue combo with ribs and brisket with green beams and Wilbur beans. Most BBQ's that I have gone to had ribs that the meat would just fall off. These ribs were tough and chewy. I couldn't even use a knife and fork to cut the meat. I had to gnaw the bones to get any meat at all. The brisket was the driest brisket I have ever had. When I tried to pick up a piece with the tines of a fork, the fork wouldn't penetrate the meat. When I tried to cut the brisket, it just crumbled into pieces. The Wilbur beans were good. The description of the green beans said they came with bacon. The bacon was little tiny pieces that were tasteless. My two dining companions had good meals which is why I gave the restaurant 2 stars. If I had eaten there alone and not had a chance to see the other meals, the rating would be one star.

If you're looking for good BBQ, this is the place. My boyfriend and I stayed a hotel across the street and ate here twice! The first time we got the "feast for two" and it was perfect for us. We got a little of everything! I would definitely recommend this place!

Be prepared to get STUFFED & end it with a huge grin!

Lunch date with an old friend who is expecting and her 3 year old girl. We beat the lunch rush and I was seated right away. The service started out fabulous but as the Friday lunch crowd filled in our waitress grew scarce. At the end I wondered if they were baking the bread for bread pudding. She was great with the kiddo. Food was quite good. We both had chopped pork, a dinner and a baked potato with the pork. The kids Mac and cheese was clearly boxed with powder. I understand that the regular Mac and cheese has jalapeño, but to serve kids crap? I ordered the peach tea and was really disappointed, so I asked for a sweet tea, again yuck. No peach flavor whatsoever. Apparently, the tea maker has not had sweet tea south of the Mason Dixon. I had to add sweetener. The drunken apples are no longer on the menu, replaced with grilled slab o'pineapple, meh. The bathrooms were clean and the manager as well as 2 waiters besides ours checked in on us. Over all my complaints are minor. Good food, good service, good prices.

My wife and I were staying a few nights in Denver and were lured in by the flaming neon sign and the great smells outside. Sadly, the food does not live up to the smell. I ordered the combo platter with brisket and ribs, and my wife got the brisket dinner. My ribs were good, but my brisket was, without exaggeration, the worst I've ever had. Borderline jerky, dry, bland, only edible when drenched in barbeque sauce. My wife's were no better. The sides were okay, but absolutely nothing special, I may be wrong, but everything tasted straight from the can/box. The average quality of everything would be acceptable if this didn't wind up being the most expensive meal we had the entire time we were in town. Nearly $65 (with tip, our server was great!), for two people, no appetizers, that's just bad. When back in Denver, we won't return.

I thought the only good BBQ came from a family owned hole in the wall tucked away somewhere with a 4th generation Pitmaster at the helm. Not so. This is chain restaurant with locations from coast to coast with some street cred in the BBQ world. When you walk in you see proof. A slue of ribbons and trophies litter the lobby, showing I'm not the only fan. It has a huge dining room, so you rarely have to wait. The service is average. Good I guess. First I'll start with the ribs. Hand-rubbed with Dave's secret blend of special spices and pit-smoked for 3-4 hours over a smoldering hickory fire. Then slathered with sauce over an open flame to seal in the Famous flavor and give them a crispy, caramelized coating. These things are amazing. I can understand why they have won so many wards. They are tender in the right places and crispy where it counts. Just done right. What I recommend is the All-American BBQ Feast. A full slab of St. Louis-style spareribs, a whole country-roasted chicken, 1/2 lb. of either Texas beef brisket or Georgia chopped Pork, creamy coleslaw, Famous fries, Wilbur beans, six pieces of of fresh sweet corn and four corn bread muffins. This is the one for 4 people. There is a half portion for two people as well. The spareribs are killer. The chicken has a great char flavor. You can't go wrong with the pork or brisket. They are both great. The fries are the wedge style. Very filling. The Wilbur beans are so good. Baked beans loaded with smoked pork, brisket, hot link sausage and jalapeño peppers. Three meats and japs! Wow. So, so good. Probably the best baked beans ever. The cole slaw is cool, crisp and creamy. And of course, the cornbread. Any good BBQ place has some good cornbread. Famous Dave's does not disappoint. It's killer. On to the sauces. The Devil's Spit is great for those who love a kick. The Georgia Mustard is great if you love mustard. Which I do. I usually keep 5 or 6 types in my fridge at any given time. The Rich and Sassy is a great classic BBQ sauce. Well rounded flavor with good balance. The Sweet and Zesty is a classic, but with exaggerated features. It's my girlfriends favorite. The Texas Pit is a sharp vinegary and peppery delight. I love a sharp sauce. Try mixing and matching to find what works best for you. All in all, A great place

Love the food, love the attention, like the ambience. The only bad thing about this place is that it's so good that it's always full and it becomes a little noisy sometimes. Would recommend for a big night meal.

Food is good. Service was terrible. Sat in the lounge for happy hour and it took about an hour and a half for two beers, one app, and two entrees. The waiter didn't even think to offer water with our drinks and he barley conversed with us. He also missed part of our order and took ten minutes to print the check. Mind you there were only two other tables occupied.

It was Day 2 of our quick trip to Denver, which clearly necessitated more barbecue. I've seen "Famous Dave" Anderson on numerous televised barbecue competitions over the years, but I've never had the opportunity to try his food. Luckily for me, there was a Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que location fairly close to our hotel. Today's special was All-You-Can-Eat Rib Tips, which was too tempting to pass up. You also get one side (not all-you-can-eat), and I opted for potato salad. The potato salad had an excellent crunch to it from all the veggies. It was mostly mayo-based, but there might have been a little mustard too. If there had been just a tad more pepper, or perhaps some chili powder, the potato salad would have been perfect. My rib tips had an excellent bark-filled crust, and the deep red hue suggested a decent amount of smoke. The seasoning blend on the crust was fantastic, though just a touch too salty. The meat also had a slight sweetness to it from the pineapple-laden glaze. Even for rib tips the meat was very tender and juicy. I actually found it really hard to stop eating once I had built up some inertia. I was incredibly full after the first round of rib tips, but an all-you-can-eat order required at least one more round. It's not often that I find barbecue this good outside of Texas, but Famous Dave's offered up some exceptional smoked meat. I guess there's a reason Dave is famous after all.

It ain't the best bbq in Denver, but it sure ain't the worst either. The pork was tender and quite juicy. The sauces were also good, and there was a decent variety. The staff was friendly and helpful, although the napkins (aka paper towel roll) weren't re-stocked when we were seated. If you're on their e-mail list, they'll solicit you with specials quite often, although these specials generally don't last for long, so there is some urgency to get in and use them (I am sure, this is the marketing design). Yes, it has a chain feel, but it's a good place to have some decent bbq at a decent price.

I went to Famous Dave's BBQ Friday the 17th of April, I ordered the Rib Tips with Fries. The fries were soggy and the meat was dry. The Man that helped me was so nice but the food was not good at all. Will not go back

Disappointed! I liked the bbq sauce, but that's where the positive stops. Ordered the pork, it was dry. To add insult, they place it on top of an old chewy piece of once toasted Texas toast. The macaroni and cheese was runny and odd. The collard greens were ok, but the greens were old. I am a fan of Famous Dave's bbq sauce and seasonings, I use them at home. I was excited to try the restaurant and it ended up being a big let down. Boo Dave Boo!

I know most of my friends on here aren't a fan of chains... but some provide a consistency that is valuable. There might be better BBQ places in Denver, but I know precisely what I am getting with Famous Dave's BBQ. In fact, here is what I am getting... 1. Awesome, tasty fall off the bone ribs. 2. Sweet, tasty fluffy corn muffins 3. Baked beans with bits of pork and spice 4. Insanely good brunswick stew 5. Yummy yummy brisket 6. Hot spicy sausage... Plus the service at the Denver location is amazing. My friend from Germany wanted to try American ribs, and this is the first place I could think of, and we were not disappointed. Awww man, now I'm hungry...

My favorite restaurant is Famous Dave's.One I thing like about them is that they have good pulled pork sandwiches . They put a smoky and spicy sauce over the pork and slap it between two pieces of soft and tasty hamburger bread. On the side you can get a choice of fries or cinnamon apples.I always get the apples because they are sweet and cinnamony. A plus is that they always give you two Oreos. I Highly recommend Famous Dave's.

Here's the thing. Most BBQ in Colorado is just a sad, sad state of affairs.* I mean I once took Sir Nicholas to a bar in Charleston where he ordered what he proclaimed to be "the best BBQ sandwich" he had eaten in his ENTIRE life. I shed a small tear over that, what with growing up all over the South and having spent time (5+ years) in the Carolinas and visiting Memphis regularly. Because while the sandwich was good I bet there are a dozen places that would knock his saucy socks right off had we had time to explore a bit. So.... While Famous Dave's is a chain I have to say it's the best BBQ I can get to without driving more than 30 minutes and because of that I will default to it any time I want BBQ and I'm not planning on going far. There are things they do well. Among this list I count the cornbread muffins, the baked beans, and the pulled pork. I will personally not order the mac and cheese (it isn't bad, it's just not my style) or the green beans again. Both of these are proclaimed to by "spicy," but be warned neither are. I do look forward to trying other sides eventually, specifically the BBQ chips (house-made with BBQ seasoning) and Drunkin' Apples (warm apples in a cinnamon and amaretto sauce.) The sizes are decent for the price and they have an easy take-out/to-go area with it's own entrance and waiting area so if you don't want to dine it that's a nice option. And it's family friendly if you need a spot to take the little guys and gals. *Jabo's is my exception to this rule. I'll gladly take suggestions of others I need to try.

It's a chain. Let's stop comparing it to local non-chains. For a chain, I think the BBQ is great! The husband and I love the pulled pork and the Georgia Mustard sauce is amazing on it. Their sides are good with the green beans being a big standout for me! I have always been impressed by the waitstaff - they are uniformly polite, gregarious, and attentive with drinks.

Of all the BBQ joints in Denver proper, I'm afraid that Famous Dave's might be the best large restaurant version of "Q" in the neighborhood. Sorta' like Burrell's BBQ in Santa Ana, CA........ I've been searching for a small house, in a neighborhood converted from residential zoning to commercial....... with picnic benches along the side of the house, and a "to-go" window cut out in the kitchen, facing the side-yard. But alas.......... all I've found and sampled in Denver, and close to my "hotel-hood" (Embassy Suites on Havana off the I-70) are the three restaurant BBQ's; Bennett's, Jim 'n Nick's, and Famous Dave's. I've now reviewed them all. But getting back to the "Burrell's concept of BBQ"... and for really decent family "Q", check out my review of Hog Wild in Ft. Collins! Long story short, I did the "to-go" area of Famous D's. I wanted to watch X-Factor that night in my hotel room. I had great customer service level from the guy and gal that ran the little register area, took our orders and made sauce suggestions. I chatted BBQ with the many locals that were coming in for their "to-go" orders...... and there were A LOT of those, which was the recommendation I wanted! One guy was a FedEx employee that told me about "Q" in Memphis, where he trained with FedEx. Other ladies waiting for their orders told me how they'd tried Bennett's, but found their meats "dry." My FedEx friend said he sorta' liked Jim 'n Nick's, and I shared that I couldn't find any smoke ring, and the sides were lacking. I guess that BBQ will always be subjective. I got the St. Louis Ribs and Brisket Combo with slaw and mashed sweet potato as sides. I've had incredible bread puddings in my life, so I defaulted to my "other shared first dessert love......" ........ key lime pie. Bottom line, this was good BBQ. It wasn't "small house in the neighborhood great", but very good. The slaw was good, but I prefer my wife's sweet potatoes. And the key lime? I'll stick with my daughter's Emeril Legasi (sp?) modified recipe, or my all time favorite........ Joe's Prime Steak and Stone Crab in the Caesar's Forum Shops in LV. My two best BBQ recommendations for "chain restaurant BBQ?" In San Diego try Phil's BBQ, and in Las Vegas..... Memphis Championship at their Rainbow Blvd. location on the West side. I travel to Denver on business, and have now taken care of my BBQ cravings, a bit of my "best burger" cravings, and now have written Famous Dave's into my black book for consistently OK-Q. Just sharin' my Denver BBQ notes is all.......... but still looking and not sayin' I've hit all the spots I need to yet.

This place rocks so hard!! Love the delicious BBQ and the family-friendly atmosphere. Last time we went, the service was so fast that we actually got in and out in under 45 minutes- a wonderful thing for a couple with a toddler! Our favorite barbecue joint- it's famous for a reason!

Best bread pudding anywhere. The sauce for the bread pudding is sinful. The banana pudding is also good but is too creamy and not enough banana flavor. I'd eat it anytime though. This restaurant is very, very loud to the point of it being off-putting. The music is FAR too loud and with people talking loud to hear each other it becomes unbearable. The burnt ends are not so good and not a good value. The barbecued ribs, chicken and brisket are good. The sauces make them taste better. The cornbread is also good. I eat here a few times a year and would not hesitate to order from here for a gathering. The onions and pickles they serve on the side are delicious!

So as part of my food adventure here in denver, BBQ was on the list. I ordered the 1/3 slab with the beef brisket. For my sides I got the corn on the cob and the mac and cheese. After reading a few of the reviews from other Yelpers, I have to agree that the food does come out luke warm. I would prefer that the food come out a little bit hotter. I thought the mac and cheese was pretty good. I especially liked the corn and jalapenos mixed in which gave it a little bit of sweetness and spice. THe cornbread muffin was good too, moist and flavorful. I do like the assortment of bbq sauces at the table. My preference was the "devils Spit" which had a decent bite to it. Overall I thought it was decent bbq.

I definitely recommend not eating here if you dont want cock roaches in your food. I recently ate here because a friend of mine is a server. A cock roach came out on my Cesar salad!! Of course they payed for my dinner, apologized, and offered future free food(ewww) I later asked her if they sprayed or did anything to take care of it. Her response was "they can't get rid of them cause their in the walls!"

Came here on a layover that I had in Denver. It was cold and my crew and I just wanted to get a drink and get warm. We stumbled upon this place and it just happened to be happy hour! They have an AMAZING happy hour. The menu ranges from $1-$5 with all types of different foods and drinks. We were able to get full and have a few drinks for very cheap. The only weird thing was they had a person dressed up in this really gross and dirty pig costume! It was funny but you didn't want him to touch you! Anytime I am Denver I would go back again. The food was good and so were the drinks. This place did not disappoint.

What have we been thinking not trying this place sooner. Nice vibe inside, kind of like a cabin, we thought it was cute. We sat at the bar on a Sunday during football games and Dana was awesome! She offered great suggestions and kelp our drinks full. The peach and cinnamon drink was delicious! Everything we ordered was delicious, the prices were good, and the food was ever better left over. We will be back for sure!

The BBQ sauces are simply the best I've ever had! Great selection and variety. There cornbread is almost as good as my buddies and that is saying a lot. I'm not normally a chain restaurant guy but the two I've been to were pretty stellar.

I ordered 10lbs Pulled Pork and 10lbs Brisket, buns, and cornbread catered. Very friendly and helpful with instructing me on how much food to order. However...I was quite disappointed. I heard a lot of feedback from my guests that the brisket tasted like beef jerky (dry and salty) and the pork was very fatty/greasy. Also, I had a TON of food leftover. I had ~5lbs of meat uneaten. And the entire large pan of cornbread was untouched. Also two full bags of buns were unopened. I'm not sure if this is a result of the poor quality meat, or a result of poor quality estimating from the caterer. Either way I spent a lot of money on food that most people didn't enjoy, and ended up in the garbage.

Thought it was going to be busy because people were waiting outside. But me and my family were seated quickly. The server didnt mind coming back a few times as my GF couldnt decide what she wanted. Our drinks came out quickly. The appetizer was delivered way before the food which is a plus. He was great in explaining the bbq sauce to her and the kids because they have never been there before. Our food came out quick and right, love it when a place gets the order correct. My Rib tips were tasty. I took a bite of my kids burger and it had the charbroiled taste to it. No complaints from the service from start to end.

The Brisket were juicy and they served a nice amount for a Lunch meal. The cornbread roll was excellent. The two individuals I ate with enjoyed the pork ribs and the various bar-b-que sauces. However, the greens, I was told, didn't taste to good, and the Mac and cheese was a bit cold. But I would recommend this place to family.

5 stars is for the Happy Hour special at this particular Famous Dave's location. This is a fantastic place to get high quality food, a good amount of it, and a well priced drink that isn't going to break the bank. With most chain food restaurants, you expect to pay anywhere from $15-25 easy on a dinner bill. During Happy Hour, that isn't the case! You can easily eat well with a drink or two and spend about $12! Maybe less! The Happy Hour isn't only for the drinks, it includes certain food items as well. Keep in mind that this awesome Happy Hour is not available at all Famous Dave's locations. Everything I had to eat was awesome and tasty. They're consistent in what they do. Excellent customer service and a good value for my money. When I'm here for work, I choose to eat here...always!

Used to be great, up until this last year. Always dry meat, and the take out is horrid... Don't know what happened cuz we've been going there for years, living in north Thornton. Maybe the Chef? Guess we'll try it again sometime later...like a year? Service has always been good though. And I still buy their sauce at the grocery store!

As fellow Yelper Kathleen A says, "I don't care that this place is a chain." My favorite in Texas is now a chain; sometimes when something is good it just has to spread around." I call ahead and order meat by the pound (beef brisket or ribs) and sides; we get potato salad, firecracker green beans, and Wilbur Beans. We are not crazy about the Cole slaw but still order because we do not hate it and you have to eat cole slaw with Q. By the time I reach Dave's, my order is ready to go. Neighbor Sam gets a kick out of the Devil's Spit bar-b-que sauce which we load up on as well as handi-wipes. (I find that if you mix the orginal sauce with Devil's Spit, you get a nice sauce.) In and out in less than 5 minutes, you just cannot go wrong with Dave's for bar-b-que in Denver..

Love the fact that one of these is really close to my apartment. I have been to this chain in PA as well and they are pretty consistent with food, wait staff, and overall variety. A friend and I stopped in for some lunch/dinner. We were seated right away and so it begun. I had the Georgia Chopped Pork and my friend had the Full Rack of Ribs (huge by the way). Everything was very solid and tasty, love the variety of sauces they offer. I really enjoyed their cole slaw - Yummy! I have a hard time giving a chain restaurant more than 3 stars. Maybe one more visit will push me to 4. For the first visit it was a solid 3 star performance.

Really good cornbread, everything's really good, but it feels like a chain. Like they took a Chilis and served bbq. That kind of kills the whole experience for me.

I love this place. Denver has bad BBQ, and Famous Daves has great BBQ. I also love the fact that their mascot, "Wibur," visited my kid multiple times when he was in Children's Hospital on several occasions. I can tell that Famous Daves has a real community outreach that is not phony.

so service can kill it for a any place. when you ask your dinner guest "where is our server" is bad especially when they have a full section and you see them every 5-10 mins. I'm not saying he needs to be at my table all the time but he could be seen in his section. my drink set empty often because of this... when he did come around i asked to try a sauce that wasn't in our basket and he just looked at me (i have seen this guy before so i knew he wasn't new) and says we don't make that sauce. I said its in the door way when you come in. says give me a second we might have bottle in the back. that was the last i saw him until i hunted him down standing in another section asking for our check. it hurts to give a two star rating to a place i loved so much, maybe another visit later will bring it back up

While traveling through Denver last March I was in search for a kid friendly restaurant I could meet local friends and family for a mid-week dinner. Since they don't take reservations I was concerned, but they easily seated 5 adults and two kids. Ryan was our wait person and he was great at every step...waiting for everyone to arrive, drink orders, entree orders, the bill... Never skipped a beat. He was friendly and had a sense of humor. I recognize Famous Dave's is a chain, but it was GREAT food. It was some if the best brisket I have had in years. I also enjoyed the Mac and cheese with the extra kick. I tried several sauces and liked them all. The only cons I can think of was they didn't offer Mac and cheese or green beans without the "kick" for kids and the women's bathroom only had two stalls which at the height of the dinner rush wasn't enough. I'd recommend Famous Dave's over the other major chain competitor in the area (as I tried them during my visit too).

Stumbled upon this place by chance as we were staying at a nearby hotel. Service was great, and food was very good as well (at reasonable prices - at least compared to back home in Los Angeles). A little mainstream (as it is a chain), but pleasantly surprised. Knocked off a star because the food came rather quickly, and not very hot - which leads me to believe much is pre-cooked. Nonetheless, the sauces were awesome, and quality of food was good. Very good for a chain. I will try one of the locations back home to see how things compare across the board.

New location as far as I know. Stayed at the DoubleTree across the street and was happy to find this. Very friendly and fast. Happy hour specials were recommended and even offered minutes before it was over to make sure we were getting a good price. Catfish app was good, brisket is the best meat there in my opinion, mac n cheese and sweet potato mash (found out once I got home that the sweet potato mash was a regional menu thing there) were also great.

Lots of different type barbeque sauces. I order for lunch the 2 meat combo with ribs and beef brisket with the Mac and cheese. I had to try it after reading the other reviews... I must say the mac & cheese is great and the corn bread was delish.. the barbecue was ok.. was not something amazing or unique about it.. I guess it was typical comercial barbecue...

I can only give it 3 stars because although I like the joint, get ready, wait for it, T-M-I , it comes out the other way in a not so good way. Catch my drift?!? Sorry, just had to tell it like it is. It's greasy, that may be why, but good. I like the corn bread and ribs, the most. Even the cornbread is greasy. Oh well. The last time I was there I just had a chicken ceasar salad - boring. I really wanted ribs, but not the after effect. This place is clean, service is good, and it's always packed. You have to share parking with other places so good luck finding a spot.

Good happy hour specials but the bar is kinda small. They have a great kids eat free special on Tuesday, we'll be back!

Mediocre to good chain barbeque. None of the meats are deeply hickory smoked or fall-apart moist. My guess is they just can't take the time, given the large numbers of folks they serve, and really slow smoking probably just doesn't fit their profit model. If you want to compare this to some authenic slow cooked stellar bbq, eat here and then the same week go to Wolfe's on Colfax (better); Yazoo's on Broadway around 22nd (better still); or Boney's in the 1500 block of Champa, downtown (the best in Denver). If you do that and still claim that Dave's is the best barbeque you've had, then let's just agree that you and I will never really have anything to say to each other, and while we might buy each other a beer somewhere, and compare the different barbeques we've had, I'll never really respect you. Just want you to know that so our relationship starts out with honesty and candor.

The popular opinion here is 3.5 stars, and I'd agree. Famous Dave's is pretty good, especially for a chain. It doesn't quite stack up to the real small authentic places, but it gets the job done, especially here in Denver where there aren't a lot of great Q options. Their chopped pork is my favorite, though the brisket and pulled chicken are good too. Their sauce is pretty standard. Entrees come with a couple of sides, and I always get the cinnamon apples, which make a good dessert. The cornbread is pretty tasty, though a bit sweet for some people. It's a big place, and they also do catering and to-go orders, so you can get yours any way that works for you. I'll round up from 3.5 to 4 stars for my rating because of the Famous Daves Day they sponsor every year, where anyone with some form of David as their name gets a free entree. I'm more than happy to partake in free BBQ - thanks guys!

We came here after driving by MD's to find it closed. :( I ordered the fiest for 2. $35 and pretty good value. This was enough food for 3-4 people so beware. Chicken, ribs, brisket, Texas toast, 2 corn muffins, French fries, Cole slaw, and beans. With 6 different bbq sauces. Served so appropriately on a trash can lid. They had real sweet Tea, which is always a treat. Everything was ok but their ribs need some work.

Pretty good. Ribs are probably cooked a little too hot. But over all was worth the 9.99 all you can eat Thursday rib special.

It was a late Monday night and the best thing I could find in the Quebec Square area open past 9PM was Famous Dave's BBQ. It sure did beat the nearby Smash Burger & Panda Express where at least Dave's offered a nice place to sit down and enjoy the indoors on a cold Denver night. A colleague and myself shared a very tasty 12 piece rack of ribs which was more than enough when you consider that it also comes with two sides and some corn bread. You can't forget to try out some of the various Famous Dave's BBQ sauces that they offer at the table which adds some excellent additional flavors to the already flavored BBQ'ed ribs.

After my 3rd visit to this place, I thought I was a bit past due to review. Very good food for a chain! The ribs are the best I've sampled in Denver, their selection of sauce choices are varied and uniformly good...and the mac 'n cheese with jalapenos is fantastic. I'm partial to the collard greens as well. I read a few reviews below; the more negative ones are from folks who ordered burgers and nachos. Really? At a BBQ joint? We usually get the Feast for 2, and it's great, with ribs, chicken, BBQ Pork and/or brisket, sides and corn muffins. Drinks from the bar are good, and the service has always been friendly, informal and knowledgable (kudos to "T" at the bar on two previous visits; she's de bomb!) Generous Happy Hour specials are offered, and portions on all entrees seem to be very generous and priced appropriately. I'm definitely a dessert person, but always find myself waayy too full after the BBQ to indulge. My one gripe about this place is that the main dining room is an echo chamber, always busy and very loud...can't fault the popularity of the place, but the wood paneling on all walls and ceiling really tend to multiply the sound level of everything a bit too much...Hey, you don't go to a good BBQ place for an intimate, romantic dinner, though. This is a very family-friendly place with very good food and service, try it!

Fun, Really Good BBQ with a choice of sauces to fit most peoples wants. The meat was tender. I find that chains like restaurants can leave you feeling shorted. But Famous Dave will bring your faith back with quality and quantity. Not the best in Denver but will find it soon! bring on the BBQ

I don't care that this place is a chain. It is THAT good and very deserving of 5 bright stars!! I've been coming to Famous Dave's for years and years and it has never once let me down. Can't go wrong with the rib and BBQ chicken combo served with corn on the cob, warm out of the oven corn muffins and mashies! I personally like the sweet potato mashies the best, topped with brown suger goodness. I like to dine in and try the variety of BBQ sauces they serve. Take-out is also pretty sweet though too. They even have convenient original and Devil's Spit BBQ sauce packets you can take home. A 2-meat lunch combo runs at $7.99 and it's more than enough food for lunch! I'm sure there are tons of other awesome BBQ places in Denver but this is definitely towards the top of my list!

I never write reviews, but really felt the need to here. I have a yearly meal catered for the holidays as a little thank you to my employees. Every year I choose a different restaurant. This year it was Famous Dave's. The first thing I noticed was the small amount of food we got. There was supposed to be enough food for 30 people and there really wasn't even enough food for everyone. The BBQ sauce was in little condiment packets, most of the meat was overcooked and fatty and best of all they forgot the buns. When we called about the buns they gave us an $11.00 credit. It was really embarrassing and I felt like a cheapskate.

Before I launch into my review let me give you my BBQ credentials. I was born and raised in St Louis and spent a good part of my formative years with BBQ sauce dribbling down my chin. I have enjoyed BBQ in Kansas City, Memphis, Atlanta, Amarillo, and even Rochester, NY. And then some... That being said on with the review. I Love This Place! I don't come here for the decor and as for service if they get my order right, hot and relatively quick I am a happy camper. So far they are up to par in this respect. As for the food that is the driving factor. The ribs are tender and flavorful. The pulled pork is just right. I also love the cole slaw, cornbread muffins and drunken apples. So what it is a chain. It is good and that is all that matters. I usually prefer locally owned mom and pop places but I'll make an exception in this case.

The food is really good here. I love the brisket. The meat is tender and flavorful. The service was okay. The prices are decent, not too expensive, not cheap. The biggest problem I had with the place was the, literally, 10 times the hostess came and changed out the Bbq sauces that were on the table. It was rather annoying. The worst part about it was when I went to use one of the recently changed sauces, the lid was not screwed on and my food got drenched in the sauce. Good thing I like Bbq sauce.

I love the selection of bbq sauces and it seems to be consistantly good. For 2-3 people the all american feast is awesome...soo much food! We took almost 2 boxes home with us, and we can eat. So if that says anything.. The only bad thing is its always loud. I don't like screaming while trying to enjoy my food. Best cornmuffins ever!!

I had to break down my stars for Famous Dave's. BBQ chicken, hot links, ribs were all 5 stars, very tasty. Pulled pork was 4 stars. Cornbread was 4 stars. Sauces were 4 stars, BBQ chicken and ribs don't need sauce. Sides were 3 stars. Showing up at noon and being rushed was 2 stars. Bartender was awesome, great service, 5 stars. Hair in the sides, twice, brought down the overall rating.

I came back last week for a business lunch with some clients. The service was fantastic, the food was tasty and we all had a great time! Our waitress made sure none of our drinks went empty and was quick to bring us anything we needed. I ordered a smoked chicken sandwich and fries. One of the guys at the table suggested I try dipping my fries in the Georgia Mustard. WOW was it good! I love vinegary and sour food, this mustard is right up there in that category. I LOVED it! Famous Dave's also sells their BBQ sauce and mustard on line and in grocery stores. I am on a mission to get a bottle of that mustard! I already have a bottle of their Devil's Spit BBQ sauce at home, it's GREAT! Overall, both of the meals I've had here have been good. No major complaints, tasty, great service, comfortable atmosphere and clean. However, I have had better BBQ, but not by a landslide. This location is definitely a strong 4 stars! Good job Famous Dave's!

Had dinner with Hubs at Famous Dave's BBQ today. Boy this place is indeed jam packed. Luckily we were seated right after waiting about 10 minutes with the "light beeper" thingy. Our main waitstaff was Nicole. We ordered the Onion Strings as the Appetizer. I like it alot, though I think its just Onions battered with something special in which I cant figure out. Its so addictive. I guess I were so hungry. We ordered Mug Rootbeer as our beverages. For our main entree, we ordered the Two Meat Combos. Hubs choose, the Beef Brisket and Chicken with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Potato Salad. While I choose the Beef Brisket and Catfish with Dave's Cheesy Mac & Cheese and Famous Fries. Hubs like what he ordered. He gave this place 4 stars with the good flavor. For me, since I am not into this kind of place I give this place between 3 to 3.5 stars. After the whole evening, we are indeed stuffed.

Just decent BBQ, and not much more to say. I ordered the lunch special with ribs and brisket. It came with a cornbread muffin (which turned out to be the highlight of the meal) and a side... I poorly chose a sweet potato mash. A few sauces to choose from... I tried them all and didn't particularly care much for any. Finished with a bread pudding desert which was also not the most impressive. Meh. Also, it wasn't very busy, and they had TV's there but with the volume off. Would've been nice to hear Sportcenter at least a little.

This is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at so we decided to use their catering services for our son's Christening party. We weren't sure if the food would be as good as it is at the restaurant, but let me tell you, they pull it off wonderfully. The price for delivery and set up is cheap ($1/mile) and the food tasted just as flavorful, tender, and delicious as we expected. It was great and everyone loved it!

Disclaimer: South Georgia Native Reviewing here... I'm insanely particular about my Que and Cornbread. The sauce selection was large, but only one of them was vinegar based. I was instantly sad; however, the one they'd labeled as the "Georgia" was the vinegar base and it made me warm and fuzzy inside. Our server was phenomenal, and the hostess was super sweet. I think his name was Ian? The warm fuzzies stopped there. The sweet tea was not sweet tea, it was garbage. The meat sampler my boyfriend got was garbage cuts of meat, even though it was cooked properly. It was just terrible cheap cuts. The kind you imagine Taco Bell would be buying if BBQ was their thing. My pulled pork sandwich was not what any person can truthfully call a sandwich. It was a stale bun with a splattering of bony dry meat. Either way, sever + hostess = 2 stars. I still need to find a great place in Denver for some honest southern BBQ.

Got take-out and the Nacho's were really, really bad. It was supposed to have chicken on the nachos, and there was, but only about 2 tablespoons worth. It was a very paltry serving of chicken on the nachos. The chips were not good either. About 1 in 3 chips were stale. There was hardly any cheese too (unmelted :-( ) All-in-all they were just bad! The burgers here are pretty good, but I sure wish one could order them Medium. You only get the option of Medium well or well. And to me, the medium well is Well!

    (2)
  • Matt S.

Not bad. I tend to get the brisket sammich, which is sliced brisket....yeaaaah, buddy. Haven't ever had a bad meal with this place and the sauce selection is pretty good. Ribs are tasty, just a good place in general. Service has always been good. Why 3 stars? Not horrible and not spectacular. It's just a reliable place to eat that has some good food.

  • David P.

I really enjoyed this place. Decent BBQ and a pretty good variety of menu items. The service was great, and they have happy hour pretty much any time except 6-8 pm. The only thing I didn't like is that there was a real loud guy sitting at the table behind us and he wouldn't shut up. I guess I can't blame the restaurant for that though.

THIS IS FOR THE MAC N CHEESE ONLY because I la la love mac and cheese and I know I'm not the only one who is obsessed. Their mac and cheese tastes like jalapeno nacho cheese. Unbelievably disappointing and just shameful.

I had a great lunch here after a few years of avoiding it - the reason? That logo with a smiling pig grilling up another pig's parts truly disturbed me. Well, I went for lunch and I really liked it! I had a two item combo for under $10 and it was quite tasty. It was a nice quick lunch. While I prefer Jim 'n Nick's for BBQ, they don't really have the affordable lunch plates that they have here. I'll probably be back, I just can't look at any of the logos while I'm there! More to come when I get to try more of the food!

Great food, prices are fair and when they had them the catfish fingers were really good. Hit the specials sign up on their website for discounts and birthday gift. Kid friendly and reserve a table during regular busy times as you will always wait if not. Superb sauses and lastly good deserts, I am a fan of the bread pudding.

Now granted, i was starving when the wife & I stopped by Famous Dave's, but wow was the food great! I had the Super Pit BBQ Burger & the wife had a 1/3 slab. My side of mashed sweet potatoes was a true delight for the belly as was the coleslaw & cornbread. Our waitress Christie was delightful & efficient so no complaints on that front either.

Holy mackerel .... Glory be ..... DANG!!!!!! This stuff is damn good!!! Like tell all your friends and neighbors, scream it from the rooftops and go back real soon good! I was both shocked and amazed! So we were running errands and we were getting hungry... enter Famous Dave's. I don't give 5 stars to chains, I also don't give 5 stars to places if it's my first time there. Today I break both aforementioned rules with this review. Ashamed ??? Hell NO!!! Our server was Verona and she was awesome. She answered questions, was genuinely happy because we were so happy and did this cool BBQ sauce demonstration and explained each one. We all got to taste them, I love me some sauce and a whole bunch all set out like that, like an Easter parade... things don't get much better than this. I had a big Blue Moon and it complemented the BBQ perfectly! This next part of the story should have its own review not just it's own paragraph. Three words ...Fried Onion Strings. I could easily commit a crime over such a dish, a crime of passion. These were sinful, insane, ridiculous and sublime. They were perfect and when we realized we could drag them through our BBQ sauce that had been perfectly presented by Verona...well let's just say it got quiet ..really quiet ,just chewing and gulping ...everyone keeping a watchful eye on their opponent. Disclaimer... lots of napkins were destroyed during this portion of the meal. I would say an extra rib in both the platter combo and kid meal would be swell. 3 rather than 2 would be waaay better! However that is the ONLY improvement they could make. These ribs, with whatever sauce you want to douse them in, Crazy !!!!! Seriously some of the BEST I've ever had! I am planning to work the riblets into the meal next time! The amount of catfish I got was a lot, really it was. It was fresh and yummy and we all had some. Jessie had the hotlink thingy...it was HUGE! So with exception of the ribs the portions here are quite large. Hmmmm what have I forgotten ...OMG The Corn Muffins ?!?!?! Oh Heavenly Days !!! They were so moist, and plump, and sweet and perfect, some serious weight behind these muffins. Easily the best I've ever had! The coleslaw was good too, maybe just needed a touch of salt and a dash of hot sauce. Oh goodness I almost forgot the steak fries ...Wowie ..Ok.. well...I may have just about covered it all. OH...and dessert .... JUST KIDDING !!!!! But I am going back for some very very soon!

The food and service for our 3 trips here now has been consistently quite good. The portions seem to be very adequate for the prices. The flavors are always very good and I never have had any issues with the service. Once we had to wait 15-20 mins or so for a seat. But I don't consider that a problem.

Has this place changed management? Last time I had lunch there the ribs were like shoe leather, or jerky. inedible, or un chewable,,,,,,,,,,,. took them home for the dog. Items gone from menu, like pecan pie, key lime pie.. They had RUN OUT of bread pudding at lunch time???? Really...? I had "bannanna paste that was passed off as pudding.. Was horrible. Mostly whipped cream and totally tasteless... What happened to this place.?... It used to be decent place to eat. Servers spend more time on each other and not taking care of guests......... It HAS to be new management, Right?

This is the best BBQ place in Denver. Hands down. I have lived in Austin for the past two years, and upon returning to Denver, I had definitely gotten used to GREAT bbq. Dave's absolutely delivers this! Especially for the price! You get tons of food, great side dishes (my measure of a great meal), and fresh cornbread! The drinks are pretty darn good too. Which is good, because we often have to eat in the bar since it is quite busy. But TOTALLY worth the wait. Just go early, or prepare to have a 30 minute wait--- then you'll get to try all the great sauces, and don't forget the brisket!!

    (5)
  • Andrea E.

Famous Dave's catered our August 08 rehearsal dinner at a park near our house. For our 50+ guests the price per person was wonderful. The service was outstanding, the food is always good and consistent. For a chain restaurant you will get good authentic BBQ. If you are dining at the restaurant it will be extremely busy around dinner time.

IM A SELLOUT! Another corporate chain restaurant that I like! GOOD:Chicken, Ribs, Brisket, pulled Pork and Beans. CHECK 6 Different sauces in handy squeeze bottle that fit nicely into back packs! CHECK (Joking) Have thought it though! They serve a meal for two on a garbage can lid, I always order the Sesame Street Oscar special (no one ever gets this cultural reference to Oscars trash can!) Roll of papers towel included with every table! I like how they think! BAD: Service: This is a typical corporate restaurant! They churn em out via a training program dress them in a corporate t-shirt with a clever saying on the back and give them a cute little pig name tag! Refills reach the point that you almost want to get the damn drink yourself! And once your order is delivered forget any follow up, they have a singular one task which usually inst your table! The decor is slightly scary redneck cousin which is a tad uncomfortable but Ive bought BBQ from Roadside smokers so how can I judge! Potato Salas and slaw are blah! Fries decent wedge style, and they have some big arse burgers! Cool bar area, with LCD's for all the Sports action, Good place for the quick bite to also avoid the look at that poor guy he is eating alone stares! Definitely beats some other close local BBQ joints (Jim and Nicks will point out that Famous Dave's dosent smoke their ribs that its smoke flavor, well whooppidty do they still taste better then yours!) In review Corporate chain, Tacky decor! Marginal service & Decent BBQ! LIFE HACKER TIP: once again it is a corporate restaurant complain about anything its comped or replaced and you can get a free desert for complaints about bad service!

I am not a fan of big restaurant chains; however, enjoying one of the last few days of great weather in Denver, I decided to stop here as I noticed that they have an outside seating area. As I checked with the host, the outside area was 'not ready' but they decided to go ahead and open it after I requested it. I sat outside and kicked back to read my newspaper with a nice sweetened iced-tea, wishing the metallic chairs had a cushion. This is my first time at any Famous Dave's. But the very nice server guided me through the menu and explained all about it. I decided to go for the half chicken and half ribs lunch special ($6.99) with a house salad. I am glad I did order the salad because, even though the food was super tasty and delicious, the portion was rather small. I only had to pieces of ribs. The fries were delicious but then again, I only counted 12 pieces of it. The Final Verdict: Restaurant Ambiance/Decor: 4.5 out of 5.0 Staff Service/Friendliness/Professionalism : 4.5 out of 5.0 Seating Arrangement/Layout: 4.5 out of 5.0 Seating Comfort: 4.0 out of 5.0 Food Quality/Flavor: 5.0 out of 5.0 Food Price Value: 3.0 out of 5.0 Bathrooms Cleanliness: 4.5 out of 5.0 Final Score: 30 out of 40 (75 out of 100% or C grade) Final Comment: A great place for good BBQ food, but the small portions left me with the desire for more. Good service and great ambiance.

Ok, so yes, its corporate. The service is average, what you would expect from any chain. The decor, well, its fine. The food itself. I love the food. I'm certainly not a bbq official but have been around and tried bbq from all over the country. Here my thought: the meat is OK / about average and nothing to get too excited about. Im not about the meat at a bbq place - I'm about the sauce and their BBQ sauces are ridiculous. My friends and I all agree, if you like bbq because of the sauce more so than the meat, this is THE place to go. I usually get the manhandler sandwich (I hate having to order it hehe) but have tried other things including the trash can lid. Its great. Did I mention the sauces are tasty?

We went here for a quick lunch while running some errands. We came in and were directed to the bar area since the hostess was so standoffish about us sitting in the dining room. We sat down and things were great! Food and order was processed in good time, food was okay, but for a chain so big what do you expect? Then as we were finishing out meal, I overheard another server ask a different table "can you guys close out with me so I can do my checkout and leave" how inappropriate! I work in a restaurant myself and I would never ask people to close out even if they sat for hours with the bill in front of them. We finally asked for the bill, and we received a bill that wasn't ours, with a 100$ bill in it! Thank god we are good people and told our server her error, otherwise we could have made money off the meal. We also observed all the servers eating food in full view of guests and licking their fingers clean, then without washing their hands, serving food and drinks to tables. Gross. I won't be back.

The sauce is really what saves the sandwich. If it weren't for the devil's spit I'm sure this place would have only received 1 or 2 stars from me. The bun was substantial, and held up to the Q'd pork inside it, but it wasn't incredibly unique or tasty. I found a pretty large chunk of fat in my pork, YUM, and there was so little meat on my bun that I didn't have to worry about any falling out. There are most definitely better options closer to my home, but I'd give this place a second chance to impress me if it were convenient.

I was pretty excited about going here and it's damn good. Ordered ribs and I was damn satisfied too. The only thing is, I think it's kind of pricey for the amount that they give you. I ordered a combo with two choices of meat and a few sides. I only four ribs and some beef for $15. For that amount, I could've bought a whole rack of ribs for the grocery store and cooked it myself. They've got some tasty sauces, and friendly service. Although, the staff is really loud and obnoxious.

Meh.... Been here for lunch twice, and dinner once in the past six months or so. Food's OK, but I personally prefer Jim 'n Nicks. Who has the best BBQ is a useless circular argument. Strictly personal preference and sometimes brand loyalty. Good size portions and fair prices. Service is spotty and ranges between pretty good to "why is my glass empty and where the hell is that waiter?" What really turns me off is the ambiance. Too loud. The place is like an echo chamber. When it's busy you can't hear yourself think. Another problem is the parking and access. This isn't the restaurant's fault, but counts towards my overall impression of the place. Whoever designed the traffic flow in this center should be horse whipped. Lanes are too narrow, lane breaks are poorly placed and cause backups, and the spaces are too tight.

My family likes to meet here for birthdays and get togethers. Its kind of loud, which I like, but of course grandma does not. That part is up to you. They do well with large groups, for the most part, with the exception of not being great about refills, and every time we have gone, something is slightly wrong with the order, usually just a side dish. What tends to happen is my entire family and I get the lunch special where you pick one or two meats, and a side. Its a great deal. Usually someone gets the wrong side, but the nice part is they just go get the side you wanted, and let you keep the one they messed up, no charge. So my boyfriend wanted the mac and cheese, but got fries, so he ended up with fries AND mac and cheese. More fries for me. The sweet and tangy (or is it sweet and zesty?) BBQ sauce is my favorite. I like spicy, but i do not like the flavor the devil's spit.

This place is horrible. The BBQ is very salty and when I ate there one evening I had to get up for glasses of water the whole night. It is no where near the quality of food as M&D's BBQ cafe. The few times I have gotten take out everything is slopped all over everything else. I know BBQ is supposed to be messy but not that messy. STAY far away from this place. To me it is overrated and if it was the only place that I could get BBQ in Denver I guess I wouldn't be eating BBQ at all.

A relative swears that this place is "THE" place for BBQ. He was sadly mistaken. It's a corporate eatery with a decent to fair attempt at Q but this ain't the real deal. Maybe a 1/4 star better than Bennett's anywhere for the food and a 1/2 star worse for the service at any Bennett's. So let's see, for the Q factor at a corporate eatery BBQ joint at this moment I'm feeling it falls above Bennett's and below Brother's but that could change in an instant. All the chains still fall below the mark of a family owned BBQ place.

Went to Famous Dave's this evening. Had been there before with some other people and enjoyed it so went solo this time as I was staying across the road at the Radisson/Holiday Inn (different story. Leave it). Ordered the wings which were very good and accompanied by fries that had been left too long under the lights and beans that I may regret later. There was a short wine list but no prices so I asked the server. His reaction indicated that people don't usually order wine at Famous Dave's. He regarded me with some suspicion as perhaps an Eastern liberal or worse, a homo-sex-u-al ! Persuaded that I actually wanted Pinot Grigio, he went to check then came back and whispered the price of a glass in my ear lest he be overheard and severely embarrassed by those easily shocked by my brazenness at the neighboring table. Curiously, both glasses of wine took ages to arrive and neither delivered by 'my server for the evening' as they charmingly put it here. Paying the bill, I left hurriedly before the lynch mob arrived to hang the heathen. By way, the wings were good, the wine cold and the price more than reasonable. I'll be back but I might just have beer next time. Life is too short already.

This restaurant must be in bed with Cabela's. It's a hunting lodge: antlers, vintage hunting signs, plaid coats, etc. (It's a little creepy, actually.) And chains are not typically my first choice for dining out. But when in Quebec Square, you've Country Buffet, IHOP, or Famous Dave's. The latter has Fat Tire on tap, so that's where I find myself. Waiters in the dining room are almost always inexperienced. They're the type of servers who can't anticipate your most basic needs and who haven't mastered the art of multi-tasking. The bartenders, on the other hand, are surprisingly adept and attentive. It is typical American food: outrageous portions of meat piled high. DO NOT order the Feast for Two, which is in fact more food than 5 people could eat in a sitting. DO share some ribs with a friend. The sauce is yummy and they just keep a roll of paper towels on the table so you don't have to ask your MIA server for extra napkins every 2 minutes. Mashed potatoes are disappointing, but potato salad, cole slaw are edible sides. Jiffy Mix makes better corn bread muffins. Sandwiches and burgers are served on paradoxical preservative-packed, slightly stale buns. So it is really the ribs that glean the stars. They're good enough to bring me back in spite of all the cons. And it's pretty darn inexpensive, especially when you share. Try to get there early, because it fills up fast every night.

Must not have had the "A" team cooking on the 4th of July. I've been here a few times and generally have good food in a decent 'chain' style restaurant. Fun people, good drinks, good food. This trip it was slow, still fun people, but seemed like the cooks were having a bad night. The ribs were a little underdone (knaw off the bone) and the briscut was gristly. A disappointment considering my expectations. Hopefully this was a fluke, I know I'll be back - at least for one more try.

My dad could have gone anywhere in Colorado for Father's Day and I was so disappointed when he picked this place. My original plan was to just get a salad. When I saw the menu, I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. I got the BBQ chicken, which was good, but the best thing is to order the fries as a side dish. This way you can use your fries to taste test the sauces. My mom's jalepeno mac and cheese was yummy and we got bread pudding (my favorite) for dessert. Everyone, even me, was fat and happy.

Anytime you come to this place you must absolutely come with a group of friends or some family to set that warm light mood. The main reason is so that you can share off of each others plates because everything is just so appetizing and tasty. The corn bread and ribs will fill you up in less than half an hour guaranteed. You'll continue reaching for more until both you and your partner are bloated. Just don't order the salmon salad because the salmon seems to taste a little bitter and tangy with the lettuce. Yuk I felt so nauseous after that experience. Good look and try the Devil's spit barbecue sauce for an extra spike.

Like they say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, and that is exactly why I will spend the my own money here again. The moment I walked in I was created by a smiling hostess who explained the menu (unessary but cool) and a waiter who was spot on(Christian). Now to the food, the ribs were amazing, the sides great, I had mashed Potatos and mac and cheese. The suggested flying pig beer was also excellent! So as a true BBQ fan, I must say this is the best I have had outside mine or my uncle Fred's backyard. The atmosphere was also fun and full, which adds to the experience. Small things often impress me, and I saw a waitress and patron making their way past my table, without much space. The waitress steped aside to allow the gent to pass, and the young man insisted she go first, but she then said, "thanks sir, but YOU'RE the guest". Classy!
