I have had better luck with the kitchen here lately. The new chef has a good handle on the menu. The kitchen had really improved. And the staff has always been really friendly. I thought I should give them another star and update my review. They will show soccer/futbol so Rapids fans should check it out.

This is a cool little spot in Stapleton. Easy to find, relaxed, decent parking, good service. Overall, I'm impressed. Although I just stopped in for a quick happy hour, it was a nice time. I would for sure go back again. There were a couple of fellas behind the bar that took great care of us. That's solid. I enjoyed the munchies and the beer. What more could you ask for? It sure seems like this would be a good place for a large group party. I might have to tap it for FAC with co-workers. All in all it's a cool pub. Slante.

Nice atmosphere, but pretty sure we both got a mild case of food poisoning from the football buffet :(

I love this place. The food is always good and the staff is always friendly and the beer is always cold. What more do you want?

Stopped into Casey's for a very late dinner on a snow storm day. The space is really cute with a fireplace. I heard good things about the sweet potato fries and it was great. My main dish, fish tacos, comes with a very nice presentation but the taste is meh. My friend ordered the bacon burger and he said his burger was awesome.

As mentioned by an earlier reviewer, there's just something not clicking here. It's inauthentic. Sterile. There's usually not much of a scene/crowd. The food/drink/happy hour specials are fairly blah. Bartenders are hit and miss... some decent, others are blind as moles and slower than sloths. It's a shame because there's really no other decent, non-chain, no-hotel bar in a 3 mile radius yet this one feels like a Bennigans on Prozac. Maybe they need a $1 tequila shot night so all the Stapleton MILFs can re-live their unfulfilled spring break wild nights. Or at least have dollar tacos from 5-7.

The martini's were good and reasonably priced at 5.00 on Thursday. The food was ok but not overly impressive. The atmosphere is family friendly and very clean. The service was somewhat slow for a thursday but not bad.

Bartenders were friendly, fast & knowledgable. Brie appetizer was huge + tasty; real legit being half off during their 2nd happy hour. (10-12am I believe). Fish n chips + a friends Rueben were both fresh & true to the Irish Pub theme. Surprised it wasn't busier for craft beers & half priced apps happy hour- More for me I suppose!

An upgrade! The waitress we had last night, Maddie, was easily the highlight and the best service I've experienced in a long time. My father in law ordered the shepherd's pie and she asked "Do you like rosemary? I find it a little heavy on it" - Turns out he does NOT in fact like rosemary that much. He ordered fish and chips, and later on, she brought out a little sample of the pie for him to try, since "I feel bad for talking you out of it!' Turns out, she was spot on. It's definitely rosemary heavy, and he said, "I wouldn't have liked it" Score one! Also, fish and chips were much better than I remember them being.

Our server was very friendly and quick to make sure everything was right. Free beer with the special and not just a slept domestic but any draft which they have a good selection including a number if local favorites. Don't forget to sample something off their whiskey menu too.

I've been coming here for a long time now and the food has gotten consistently better. It's bar food with flair, but if that's the kind of thing you want, you can't go wrong here. The service is spotty though. The last time I was here, I only got one drink refill and the waiter disappeared for quite awhile at one point. Other than that, the burgers are pretty good and the "Irish entrees" are decent as well.

Really hate writing bad reviews...really hate paying a LOT of money for bad food and service. Me, husband, and two 13 year olds went here for Sunday brunch. I shall title this: "Casey's is Like the Nice, Pretty Girl With no Substance." -------------------------- AMBIANCE/LOCATION: +: nice decor, clean, quiet, cordial server, lovely and comfortable booths, great fireplace, close to other shops and neighborhoods, easy to get to, free parking. Server was great with water and coffee refills. -: poor service, the ceiling needs work (beautiful lofted ceilings but the guts are exposed, looks terrible and brings down the upscale bistro vibe they've got going on). Brought our side waffle dry. No new syrup, no butter, no whipped cream. No spoons offered/brought. Coffee brought out first, a few minutes before cream and sugar came (meaning coffee was lukewarm by the time it did). And finally, my husband and I asked to split a waffle. Server suggested "so, just a side waffle, without the meat and fruit?" We said yes. The check came and we were charged the full price of a waffle plate. She said nothing. We asked about it and she said "oh, yeah, so we can't do that..." and in the end took off about $3. Still a $7 crap waffle. And a shitty way to handle something (i.e. instead, own up to your mistake and some money off instead of making us have to ask you. poor service.) Suggestions: Train your servers better. They're plenty nice, just not skilled or thoughtful. If you're not going to train your staff better (including the cooks) then lower your prices by at least half. This is a pretty and comfortable restaurant but has no substance and is overpriced. -------------------------- FOOD: +: tasty meat products (bacon, sausage, the corned-beef in the hash), breakfast potatoes were good (but nothing to rave about). The hot chocolate the teens and husband had looked pretty good too, they had no complaints. Oddly enough one of my favorite things i ate there was the sourdough toast. Husband had the Irish breakfast and liked most of it, he really liked the irish brown bread that came w/his meal too. -: First off, we should have known...the menu is confused. It's an Irish bistro but they have fish tacos and cuban sandwiches on the menu? This is a SURE sign of a crap restaurant. The second tip off was that the coffee was bad. It only got worse from there...One of the girls' pancakes--which are pretty hard to fuck up--was undercooked in the middle. Like, batter-wet. The waffles were flavorless, limp, and dry (as were my scrambled eggs which I didn't eat). Somehow even their syrup was bad, tasted artificial and I would guess was mostly high-fructose corn syrup. Suggestions: Stick to one thing (Irish pub food perhaps?) and do it really well. The menu feels scattered and the quality is clearly poor/lacking. Either train the cooks better or hire new ones. Again, lower the prices by about half to match the quality (cheap). -------------------------- CONCLUSION: I felt really bad because we are REALLY good tippers and are generally laid back and forgiving...but at these prices, this poor quality food, and seriously lacking service, I went with a sad %10. The sense I get is that this is where the parents of Stapleton with young children go because it's kid/baby friendly and they can drink, plus kids eat for really cheap. If you love food and expect quality, stay away. Trust the other reviews. You will only leave with less money and really wishing you had gone to Udi's on the corner instead.

Went here last night while staying at the Doubletree down the road. It was quite warm when we arrived in the restaurant. The sun was beaming in the windows. I think we either got used to the temperature or maybe they turned the air on. It was happy hour so we ordered a couple of cocktails while making our dinner selection. One friend had the Shepherds Pie. Looked too tomato-ey to me. Another friend had a wedge salad with grilled chicken. Looked very fresh & I would consider getting it next time. I had what they called " Adult Mac & Cheese." I was hoping for something uber cheesy & creamy. What I got was not that but it was good. It had mushrooms, chicken & sun dried tomatoes in a light cream sauce. Still being happy hour we had a glass of chardonnay to go with our entrees. Lots of TV's to watch your favorite sport on. Comfortable high back booths.

We had a very good lunch here today. Split the Cubano sandwich and a chicken salad that had dates and feta. Both were quite yummy. The bartender was a hilarious character, too!

Yet another so called Irish pub that pours a dodgy pint of Guinness. Service was slow but friendly. They were dead at 9pm on a Friday night so that pretty much sums it up, no reason to go back.

This place is so cute and cozy inside. It's too bad the food is fairly mediocre. But, given the serious lack of decent options in Stapleton, I'm sure we'll be back.

Had brunch and dinner here and waked away happy both times. Brunch was great, they have awesome black and tan pancakes and generous portions. Dinner was also great, generous portions, good food and drinks. They offer 1/2 priced warm drinks when it snows which is also a plus!

I truly don't refuse to go many places, but Casey's is one of my few exceptions. The drink specials are fine, but the service, staff, food, and atmosphere are just not good. I have given Casey's a handful of chances because they are one of the few spots in Stapleton to grab a beer, but each experience had been more disappointing than the last. No more chances. I have been ignored by the bartender more than once because he was busy chatting up a pair of forty-somethings (and they were the only other ones at the bar), and last time we were there I literally had to call to a waitress walking by to get her to notice we were even there, when there were only 4 tables that were occupied at the place. The food is edible but not good, the atmosphere is nonexistent (they kind of try to be an Irish pub, but you wouldn't know it by going in there.) If you care about having a halfway decent time out in Stapletopia, just go across the street to the Berkshire. You might pay more, but if you really want to save money you'll have a better time picking up a six pack at the Grape Leaf and just going home than even attempting Casey's.

Well, good thing I didn't read the other reviews here on yelp before going to this place. I was simply staying at a nearby hotel for the evening and wanted a drink and some chips/salsa/guac for Happy Hour before getting dinner at a nearby restaurant. Honestly, I had no problem with the place...but I didn't order any real food. There were plenty of Happy Hour specials, the bartender did a solid job and I enjoyed being there. Guess my best decision was having dinner somewhere else, but I would go back for Happy Hour again and have a couple drinks without hesitation.

Our waitress was terrific, I have no complaints about the service. Unfortunately can't say the same for my cobb salad. The lettuce had seen better days - it was brown and so tired and wilted that some leaves were almost translucent. The avocados had certainly seen better days, black spots and wilted as well. The fish tacos made up for it, but seriously, how hard is it to serve a salad with fresh ingredients?

Great food great staff. The happy hour is awesome and very reasonably priced. I suggest sitting at the bar with amber as the bartender. She pours great drinks and likes to engage with her guests. She should be back there more often. Anyways, I suggest at least a visit.

Service was friendly and fast, but food was less than exceptional. Ordered the corned beef and cabbage, a favorite of mine, and it was bland and the cabbage tasted sour. Also, they don't put prices on their online menu; food was more expensive than expected.

I think I finally figured this place out! If you sit at the bar you're golden!! It's when you attempt a table you want to get up and leave. We had prompt service this time but that may have only been due to the fact I could make eye contact with the bartender. We had the Brie this time and it was awesome. The food in general is usually quite good. If you are in a hurry though you might want to try somewhere else.

Ah, Casey's, the Irish pub I love to visit. You've been here from the beginning of (Stapleton's) time and have the - by far - best beer selection in the 'hood. Your food is a decent value, the menu is authentic & offers a fair amount of diversity (for an Irish pub). Your beer selection rivals any other place within shouting distance. The staff is friendly. Happy Hour specials are great. There are a few TVs behind the bar and a few in the dining area along with a big-but- hard-to-view projector but you'll never hear a game in this place....this bugs me a bit. Always a nice place to grab lunch or a brew after work or on Tuesday for the Stapleton Run Club.

Came in a Sat night with some friends for drinks/food. Placed our order...30min nothing...45min nothing. Waiter forgot to put our order in then brought a bill that had everything listed on there and charged for EACH individual soft drink refill! Solution...3 free shots after calling bull$*^%t...and didn't even correct our bill. Awesome. Yep...there's a reason why this place has 2.5 stars.

Our latest trip to Denver found us looking for entertainment when I-70 was shut down for 5 hours due to weather and wrecks between Limon and Goodland, KS. Choosing not to be stuck on a highway road watching the snow fall, my family and I backtracked to the outerskirts of Denver. After an excruciating hour and a half in Bass Pro, we set out to find food. Rather than eat in the crowded and underwhelming shopping area we were in, we headed about 15 minutes down the road to Casey's Bistro and Pub. Upon walking into Casey's, I was immediately drawn to the bar so that I could watch some FA Cup footy and then the Rapids game to follow. I'm not a Rapids fan however, I like to watch them play when I can, as is with most teams in MLS when SKC isn't on. We bellied up to the bar and coincidentally found a handful of fans decked out in their maroon colored gear tabbing out to get to their tailgate. I had high hopes for a great beer selection when I saw this. Unfortunately, there were only about two beers in the entire place that screamed-pub beer-to me. I'd spent the weekend between breweries and craft beer markets so yes, I was probably tired and a little picky, but there really wasn't much to choose from. I went with the $3 mimosa special and the house-recipe Shepherd's Pie. Both were great but the mimosa was the better value. I really enjoyed the flavor of the Pie, the presentation of the delicious white cheddar mashed potatoes was intriguing and original, and the chunks of sirloin were sizeable so I was not afraid of leaving hungry. My only beef (no pun intended) was that we had intended to share our meals but mine appeared really small compared to my families' breakfast meals yet was twice the price. I was disappointed that we paid nearly $15 for this meal and about $9 for my dad's eggs benedict. The service at the bar started a tad rough but again, we were not really in the best mindset to begin with and I know my dad can be a pill when he's bothered by something like our delay. The bartender was a trooper though and once his bar cleared a little, he was quick, nice, and made sure the tv in front of me stayed on soccer. He didn't mind that we sat at his bar for two hours, a full 45 minutes after we were finished ordering. He didn't exactly have a wait but I know how trying it can be to have three people constantly needing water refills and not spending anymore money. So, in summary: Food-tastes great but overpriced on the traditional fare Staff-friendly and attentive Atmosphere-for a family friendly pub atmosphere, solid...but the beer selection did not seem to justify the amount of Rapids fans I saw in there. There was Soccer on the tv's so I can tell they cater to a footy loving crowd when they can and I like that. Casey's is not a destination at all but if you're in the area and looking for some ball to watch and a brew to drink, stop by Casey's. Do not prepare to be blown away but you'll have a good experience and be happy that you went.

What can I say, it is an Irish bar pub. It was pretty dead for dinner which was a good thing but a little worrisome until I got my dish. I ordered the Botsy with Steak (I think that was the dish) which was a very huge portion and very heavy potato pancake with steak and other grilled veggies with a creamy sauce to not make it as dry and since it is Irish food, why not some more potatoes so of course there is a huge slab of mashed potatoes to go with it all. The fish n chips were not as good as the waitress made it seem (Which is why I am giving it 4 stars). also the waitress had no idea about the beers which concerns me since it is an Irish Pub.

I can't say there is much remarkable about this place. The service is hit or miss and really the only benefit this bar has it is is the only real bar in the neighborhood. An okay place for a few drinks and the happy hour food is cheap and alright. I wasn't impressed, but the price is right and it's better than putting dinner together at the Walgreen's next door. Oh, I will say that the french fries are pretty damn good though.

  • Permahungry C.

Listen, I live in the neighborhood and I so desperately want to love this place.... but I just don't. I don't hate it enough not to go out of convenience, but I don't love it enough to be excited about it. Ever. And thus, I believe, the reason this place is still around. Food is actually usually pretty tasty. I've had a variety of things from the menu, and have never really hated anything, so there's that. Draft beer list is okay... some decent options. A little expensive if you ask me, but that's just me. Atmosphere is fine - bar area, dining area with a billion kids running around (it *is* Stapleton after all...), nice patio. Service. Now this is where the place really falls down. There are one or two bartenders who come close to being friendly, sometimes. They, at least, do their jobs - keep your drinks filled, check in, etc... Other than those two, really, the service is pretty terrible. Everybody usually seems either a) totally confused, b) annoyed that they need to take a break from talking to each other/their friends who have come in to hang out/whatever else they're doing to talk to you, or c) both. Not what you want from a "neighborhood pub".. In conclusion - if you're in the area, and looking for a couple of beers and some food, it's a fine option. There aren't many options in the area though, so it's a bit relative. Happy hour deals are okay, but I think they're only at the bar and only between 3-6.

  • Tiffany N.

This place feels sadly sterile which isn't exactly the feeling I associate with either bistro or pub. I must admit I was drawn here to try trivia even though I had read the reviews and they were clearly not promising. I showed up late so trivia was already underway when I joined our team so seating wasn't a problem. Hearing the quiz master on the other hand was slightly more difficult. But, I did hear them mention they were fill-ins and were having trouble with the sound system so it's possible it was Casey's fault. I will say our server was great. She never left anyone at our table thirsty and was really nice. And they do have a good selection of draft beer. Other than that, I just don't think there's anything special enough about Casey's to warrant a trip to Stapleton.

  • Jackie C.

We come here often for Thursday night trivia, and each week for the past 6 weeks have had the same server. She seems to bothered that we're there; as if we are interrupting her evening or something. Last night became the last straw when she purposely walked into my friends chair which slammed into my boyfriend's knee and huffed "SERIOUSLY?!" as she went by. She was rude to another one of my friends when he asked her what was on tap. "Really? We have 18 taps, here's a menu." She literally did not smile ONCE. We have probably been here 7-10 times and always tip well, and always have her as our server. I'm not who has been peeing in her Cheerios, but we are seeking out another trivia bar on Thursdays. It gets 2 stars for the drink specials and the not horrible food. The service is the worst though.

I just moved back to this side of town after a 2 year hiatus. My son and I used to frequent Casey's on a regular basis when we lived by Stapleton and it usually proved to be a good place for both of us to have a bite out-not GREAT-but okay. If last night's experience was any indication of how they have slipped in 2 years, we won't be back. We were sat promptly but it took a good 15-20 minutes for our server to even come by our table and when he did, the first words out of his mouth were "do you know what you want or do you need a minute?" (We had just had up to 20 minutes.) He didn't come to our table bearing waters, request our drink orders first, offer up specials...just straight and to the point. We ordered right away, not knowing when we would see him again. I ordered the build your burger special and my son ordered chicken tenders. When he returned with our drinks, 10 minutes later, he set his full drink tray down in the middle of our table and served the other tables off our table. Tacky. \ Our food was brought to us by another server and came in an acceptable amount of time. My burger was okay, a little short on toppings, but the lettuce and tomato were not fresh, as well as the side salad being wilted. My son's chicken tenders were fine. The server never came back to refill waters, ask if we needed condiments, wanted additional drinks, etc. He breezed pass as we were finishing our meals to ask if everything was okay...and never returned as he was taking orders/serving a large party that showed up well into our visit. I tried to wait it out for the tab but it was apparent it wasn't coming without asking for it so I used this opportunity to discuss my horrible experience with the manager. He did the right thing in comping our meals and I feel I did the right thing by not leaving a tip-first time ever. I think, as a whole, most of the Stapleton restaurants are sub-par but local families continue to frequent them b/c they are close and convenient. Maybe if more people didn't accept less than mediocre food and service, they would step it up a notch.

I'm surprised this place is getting such bad reviews honestly! This was my third time here. I come here when I'm in Denver bc I stay in a hotel down the street. There's a reason why I keep coming back. The service might not be stellar.. But it's not bad by any means. Great happy hour food/drink specials and their regular pricing is very reasonable anyways! The food is great. Good selection. I'll be making a trip back here again when I come back into town, no doubt.

Good old American Pub Food. My Father and I went there for an early lunch on Sunday. This is a Great Family place. The menu clearly stated kids eat FREE on Sunday. Lots of kids around and it seems a decent size selection for the kids to choose from. Service was nice and appropriate for a Pub. Although I am not a beer person they had a good variety of beers to choose from. I ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger with Jalapeno Cheese. My Dad had a Steak Sandwich with sauteed onions. Both were very good. The french fries were very good as well. Would definitely come back here for happy hour or for another good meal. Good menu to choose from for multiple visits. Overall a solid three for the PUB.

I stopped by Sunday for lunch. Nice atmosphere. Lots of booths made of dark wood. We were seated promptly and greeted by a pleasant waitress. I would describe the menu as upscale pub grub. I had the Dubliner which was shaved steak with white cheddar served on sourdough finished off with caramelized onions. This was an excellent sandwich! Instead of fries I ordered coleslaw as a side. It turned out to be the type made with a very large portion of mayo. Disappointing! My companion had a bacon cheeseburger and pronounced it excellent. When I eat at a pub I often prefer a good beer. That was not a problem here. There is a nice selection of both drafts and bottles. They have their own microbrew which was excellent. Expect to pay $7.99-$8.99 for a sandwich and a side. More expensive entrees are also available. I'll be back to Casey's the next time I am in the area. I think I'll dry dinner next time as the entrees look delicious.

Went with a group of 8 for Casey's St. Patty's shindig. It wasn't as crazy or busy as I expected, and we got decent service. My group ordered a variety of Irish goodies off of their special St. Patty's menu (fish & chips, shepard's pie, corned beef & cabbage), and it was all delicious. However, it was all also expensive. I expect higher prices for a specialty menu, but was disappointed in how much we shelled out for basic pub fare.

We revisited Casey's on Sunday night (12/30/12) after a friend told me they had changed their menu in the last few months. There might have been a few additions, but absolutely nothing else had changed since the last time I risked a visit. To begin with, the staff is flat-out hostile. It looks like the place was mildly busy (it was after 7PM) and when we asked for a booth, the hostess (I think) barked that it would be at least a 30 minute wait. We could see three open booths that had not been bussed and requested one of those. You could see the disgust on her face. She instead placed us in a corner booth large enough for a party of six that simply needed a wipe-down. She threw the menus on the table and stalked off. The staff walked by the unbussed tables the entire time we were there. Placing a drink order was pleasant enough, but the prospect of remaining at Casey's was just too much for my partner and I. We left shortly after placing our drink order. We will never return.

We decided to stop in for a quick dinner after a meeting that was nearby. Potato soup wasn't bad, but wasn't fresh. The Chicken fingers were the worst...no flavor and so much breading I was sick to my stomach later! They claimed they were beer battered but I didn't get any taste of anything from them! The "homemade" Ranch dressing was blah too but I will say the french fries were good. Then we had to get up for more water and the server acted like we were putting her out, well guess what, if you had come around and given us more, we wouldn't have had to track you down.

I subbed here for Geeks Who Drink and found a very friendly wait staff, an owner who went out of his way to help out, and quick service. The food was reasonable, the beer was good, and overall I was pleased with this little hidden gem.

Just had dinner here with friends. Average food and average service. Three of us had salads and one had the roast beef dinner . The salads were ok but the special was very good. I heard the fish tacos were very good from the husband who was here on a previous visit. Good happy hour two 'fers'. 3 stars.

I travel into Denver on a regular basis and often stay at a nearby hotel. I enjoy Casey's mostly for the happy hour specials (Tues-Fri, 3:00 to 7:00 and 10:00 to Midnight). The appy menu has some great deals and the quality is pretty good for discount bar food. They also have some great beer specials. After reading some of the "less enthusiastic" reviews, I will admit that the service can be spotty, but the food has NEVER been as bad as some claim. If you have a chance, try the Guinness cheddar soup. I've also had the mussels several times and they've always been good (hint, ask for some extra garlic bread for the broth). Given the chain choices and hotel restaurant options in the area, Casey's is worth a try.

I love my neighborhood pub! I've been a regular at this establishment for the past year. The food is generally excellent, and the service is most always top notch. The prices feel a bit extreme for a pub, but they are fairly competitive with the neighborhood establishments. Consider the fact that Stapleton is generally over priced. There aren't many cheaper alternatives in town. And in contrast, I'd much rather spend my time with these gracious folks than the snooty bunch down the street. As an added bonus, if you are an airline employee like me, they offer special discounts. I would like to give a special thanks to my favorite managers, Karen and Don, my favorite bartenders, Kim, Amy, Suzy, Justin, and Jack, and of course my favorite servers, Kevin and Marina. They are a fabulous staff that will make you feel at home. If you stop in, please tell them that Steve from United sent you! Enjoy!

Meh. The food is average to bad. The service is mediocre at best. The prices aren't any great bargain. Unfortunately, I will probably end up here again because there isn't really a great alternative bar in Stapleton. This place would probably have to close if they got any competition on 29th St. I'll give 2 examples. My husband ordered the corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's day, and about half of the meat was so gristly and fatty that it was inedible. He pointed this out to the waitress, and rather than taking the dish back and coming back with a better portion or taking it off the bill and offering him something else, she simply brought him a plate with a couple of additional pieces of corned beef. No apology. No discount. And she looked annoyed that he didn't just eat the gristle. I went for drinks today (I didn't make the mistake of ordering food), and there was a clear imprint of someone else's lip on my glass. Ew. And my "hot" apple cider was lukewarm. How do you mess that up? Despite the fact that this place sucks, it's always full. They have no motivation to do better.

Casey's is a very decent neighborhood pub. They have a great menu of classic Irish fare, and it's all quite good. My personal favorite is the Corned Beef Boxty. It's a large portion and very filling, but full of flavor. The beer selection is also pretty darn good!

Good happy hour! I don;t usually go to the restaurant side because I like the cheap beef tacos for happy hour. The boxties are very good and huge portions. I also like the french onion soup. A lot of the other food is decent but nothing to write home about. The drinks are cheap and the bartenders provide good service. The waitstaff can be hit or miss so I understand some of the other reviews on this board.

I don't know what everyone's issue is with this place! We stop by every couple of weeks for dinner and drinks. The food is good for bar food, the beer is cold and it's not terribly expensive. I'm not sure what the issues are. We're recognized when we enter and have always been sat promptly. Our service all-in-all has been good and we've been taken care of in a timely manner. We'll continue to frequent this place as it's a great place in the neighborhood to get a quick bite and drinks.

Pretty much everything about Casey's screams mediocre. The location in Stapleton is good... otherwise, nothing really stands out. The food is just ok... fairly typical pub fare that is most definitely a tad overpriced. The veggie burger is prefab and something I could literally make at home with little effort. The portions are decent sized and the fries are above average. The beer selection is decent, but the prices are too high. The service isn't terrible, but could definitely be faster. The only thing keeping it from 2 stars is the bread pudding dessert... particularly the ice cream they put on top. MUST HAVE MORE! I honestly can't recommend this place other than to those living around Stapleton who don't feel like driving. Not a place to go out of the way for.

You have to know prior to entering this establishment that it is a high traffic zone for Stapleton folk and their children. Lots of kids. It's not a place to grab a beer and hang out with your 20- and 30-something friends. They do have a large selection of beer on tap, and their potato leek soup is incredible (save for one experience - I'm guessing that was a fluke), but most of the other food that I've tried on the menu has been spectacularly mediocre. The servers are friendly (if not a bit slow), the ambiance is rather yawnish - all in all, it's not somewhere I'd really recommend. Well, unless you're a young parent still grasping to the hope that you're hip and can do things like hit up an Irish pub, despite having your wailing child in tow. In that case? I have JUST the place.

This is probably going to be the shortest review that I will write. Please folks, save your money and don't go here. We went at 11:30 on a Friday and somehow managed to get our mediocre food around 12:20. One of the worst parts was that when we said that we were ready to order, our waitress told us that some people arrived first and she needed to take their order first. Then, some people walked in after us and got their food first! Even though they ordered 15 minutes after us! Not only that, it took our waitress another 10 minutes to get our checks, and then she proceeded to literally throw the bills on our table and walk away. I have NEVER given any tip less than 15%...however, she deserved a LOT less for her attitude. As people have stated before, very convenient for the Stapleton folks. Just not convenient for me.

Dont be fooled by the size of the menu. They definitely specialize in their food items. The food was unique, BIG PORTIONS, and it was pretty tasty. Service? Was not impressed. The waiter never asked to refill my drink nor ask if we wanted anything else. Also took forever to check out. It wasn't very busy when we went so I'm not sure why we got skipped over so many times.

This is easy: Great atmosphere, wonderfully accommodating staff, great food and drink specials for happy hour, what's not to like? I stop by here a couple of times a week for some solace time and R&R.

We called to see if our game was on and were told they would change one TV for us. So we ran over and then ended up missing a quarter waiting for the host to consult with someone in the kitchen and then tell us that they couldn't in fact change the channel. Given that she was the one who answered the phone, this is not OK in my book. This is why we called ahead- so she could check before we wasted our time coming in. Guess I'll have to keep looking for a decent pub. The bar was mostly empty, and no one was even watching the main screen. Apparently they're just not interested in keeping customers.

You may come here for the drinks, but you should leave for the food. BTW, dear bartender, order the right grain of sugar and you won't have problems getting it to stick to the rim of the glass.

So I work around the corner from this place and I've only been once (just don't go out to lunch much). Anyways, so the food was pretty good. Maybe a little overpriced. Worth going back? Sure! Eventful? Naw, not really. Just a cool spot. I was a little disappointed in the service though; we were the only ones sitting outside and as soon as it seemed to pick up inside our server seemed to forget about us and I had to go in a couple of times as a reminder. Will I go back? Yeah sure, just not tomorrow.

Weak. I was only person at the end of the bar and service was super slow. Then at crucial point in the football game I was watching, the bartender decided to change the channel to the news. Didn't expect much, didn't get much. And a $3 Coors Light draft isn't much of deal, guess I know why I avoid Stapleton.

We stayed in the Stapleton area in Denver and were so thankful to find the 29th Street neighborhood! Casey's had a great happy hour and good selection of beers. The reuben I ordered was probably the best I'd ever had a restaurant...the corned beef was phenomenal. My beau had the Sheperd's pie and didn't care for it - said there was an odd aftertaste. I would highly recommmend if you're a traveler and stuck in this God foresaken neighborhood I was that you head straight to 29th!

One of my favorite places to play trivia because it's not too crowded, usually less than ten teams. Bonus points for happy hour after ten and a good happy hour bar food menu: nachos, cheese fries, the kind of stuff you want to eat when it's after 10 and you're drinking.

Shitastic service. Stopped in impromptu and after 10 minutes of standing at the greeters podium we walked. Zero acknowledgement from any staff as they simply walked by or looked and quickly adverted their eyes. This might fly were it busy but it was empty as hell, now we know why.

went here about a week ago with a friend of mine and this was not my first trip here, but my first trip in a long time. It was late, but no where near closing time. We walked in and I greeted the hostess who kind of stood there for second with staring at us awkwardly till is said" uuuh can we get a table"? we ordered our food which took about 45 minutes to come out and we were the ONLY customers in there. My friends food looked and tasted horrible (tuna melt). The waiter must have knew this because he came back to the table looked at her plate and said "is this not alright"? I ordered the steak with vegetables, also not up to par! Food and service was horrible!! Never again.

It is nice to have something in the neighborhood however, I think the food is over priced. It would be nice if they had a little cheaper section of the menu. Overall the atmosphere is pretty nice and the food is pretty good. but it is not a place you can have a beer and dinner for $10-$12 bucks.

Casey's is what you expect for an Irish restaurant "I want to be a real pub" in America. Servers were friendly, but ours seemed annoyed that we were waiting to order till Mrs H arrived. Clean bathrooms, clean dining area, things you expect or at least hope fore at any dining establishment. Why 2 stars, there's a fireplace screen that's tipsy turvy barely on the ledge that likes to fall down when servers pass by too closely and a hazard for little children that won't stay in their seats. Menu has a variety of food, which makes me question how good their Irish fare must be. Must admit the fish and chips looked delish, but me no tasty. My order was the County Down Chicken Salad- grilled chicken breast, lettuce, cabbage, raisins, walnuts, apple, pear with apple cider vinaigrette. The fruit was soft and not sweet. The chicken looked as if it were seasoned but lacked any flavor (yes grilled chicken alone can be tasty). I used more of the dressing on the side than I wanted, but felt the need so I didn't feel like I was eating field greens meant for a horse. Ms JJ and Mrs H had no complaints about their pretzel sandwich, and the wedge fries presented as golden perfection. I would come back and try something else, but my expectations are now a bit lower.

I would have to agree that this place really isn't much to speak about... or at least in a positive way. Anyone reading who sees a 2-star rating has to know to stay away, but we went because where there is trivia, we will give you a try. Unfortunately for Casey's they will never likely get repeat business from me. I guess I could stop there, but I'll say why. I must admit that this place isn't horrible by any means, I'm sure it appeals to most of the those that were that on that packed night. We were there almost an hour before trivia and there were only seats available at the bar. We didn't think this night was going to happen, but we sat at the bar and made sure to reserve 6-8 spots for the others who were supposed to show up. I don't know if it was packed because people love the place or because they were showing the RNC on all their TV's. I couldn't honestly tell you. I wasted no time in ordering my first drink. It was a specialty drink on their menu and it sounded good. Stoli Raspberry, Red bull and Cranberry Juice. But it wasn't good. It was too well mixed. You barely tasted the Red Bull, there was no hint of vodka and the cranberry juice was not tart. Why did I order a drink which didn't taste alcoholic at all? I didn't waste more money on another and went straight for beers after that. We weren't really hungry, but something made us get a sampler platter of their bar foods. I really need to stop doing this. I just wrote about the prior weeks experience with bar food and how I'm just not impressed (nor should be) with it and here I am ordering up pretty much the same thing. So I now give anyone permission to hit me on the head if they see me looking at bar appetizers from this day forward. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed with the food. The tri-color corn chips that used made me laugh. Where I work, the regular customers get the plain yellow chips and the club levels get the tri-colors. It somehow makes you think you're getting something special, when you're really not. The cheese dip they served was cheesy, that much is true, but it just simply okay. The wings... *mumbles to himself*. They we're fried, might have been baked, so they seemed like they might have been cooked all the way. Aside from the so so food and overcrowding, they also have a poor audio system. Another thing I talked about in my last review. We were seated at the table next to the quizmasters and yet we couldn't hear them. It wasn't because they were trying to compete with a jukebox or TV either. You could actually hear better from the bathroom than you could just feet away from those conducting the quiz. The only nice thing is that they made enough trips by our table so if I wanted another drink I could get one. However I stopped about halfway through trivia. I wasn't feeling it anymore. I had had enough Black and Tans that night (and I disagree. A Guinness is NOT ruined if you add something else to it. Especially not by Bass). All I have left to say is: NEXT!

Great little neighborhood restaurant. Excellent restaurnt-style burgers and tasty salads. Refreshing tukey wrap and great tuna melt. They are always happy to substitue and customize meals. Caseys also manages to feel like a grown-up bar while still being a good place to bring kids for a meal.

My preface for writing this review is that I hope the management at Casey's reads these reviews and takes at least a passing interest in them. We had a bad experience, and as it is with most people, we really didn't let our feelings be known at the time, we just decided to never come back. I'm definitely not one to complain, but our visit was far from good. We were up in that area on a sunday delivering a couch, and my wife had a Restaurant.com gift certificate we thought we'd use. We waited at the door for about 5 minutes staring at the "wait to be seated" sign. They weren't busy, and most of the staff was hanging out near the kitchen chatting away. We were finally seated by who I thought was the manager. After sitting in our booth waiting for a server for about another 5 minutes, we decided to go and belly up instead. The bartender was wearing sunglasses on her head (tacky, even more so that it was around 8pm) and took a drink order. She had about 6 people at the bar, but the service was very slow. It was next to impossible to get her to refill our drinks, and a couple that sat down after us seemed to wait forever. They weren't pleased either. We ordered the mussels appetizer, and they were very good. The sauce was excellent. The problem came when we got down to the bottom of the bowl. At least 8 of the mussels hadn't opened. I felt kind of ripped off, seeing as how 1/3 of our appetizer wasn't edible, so I asked the bartender if she could send it back and have them cook it more so the remaining shells would open up. She replied that we should "just crack the shells open. I saw a guy do it on tv once." I was pretty astounded. I wanted to explain to her that you don't eat raw mussels, and that if the shells don't open up, it means the mussels were dead before they were cooked. Not good to eat. But I bit my lip, and she took the rest away. No apology, no explanation, nothing. No discount on the tab either. The entrees were not very good either. Our order came out wrong, there were onions on the salad when we asked without. Simple enough, easy fix. It happens, and we weren't upset. However it took almost 10 minutes for the salad to get back to us. Again, the bartender had no apologies, and would resume her duties chatting with the servers at the end of the bar, while the people next to us sucked on ice cubes. I had the mac and cheese and it was pretty bland and boring. Pretty disappointed. We left a bad tip (something I rarely do) but I just couldn't give here even a decent tip for her carefree attitude, no basic knowledge of what food they serve, and seeming disinterest in waiting on her customers. All told, we were there for over an hour and a half, most of the time spent waiting. Waiting for drinks, waiting for food, waiting for our check.

Kind of a weird trivia locale. Perhaps it was because of the Stapleton football-watching crew that was still watching the game, but there was some weird vibeage going on here. We were only three, and there wasn't an open table, so the server told us we could hang out. Whatevs. It was about a half an hour before trivia started. Half an hour late. Boo. We eventually got a table, so no big deal. Service was great. Kudos, wait staff. Drinks are pretty expensive, unless you're drinking bud or coors. I will make one note of why trivia at this place sucks. It's cause it's a decent restaurant where people want to be even if they're not playing trivia. So I went here only for the trivia, and that's why you get two stars, Casey. And not because your quiz-master didn't accept my hastily-scrawled "A Different World," although it does put a general damper on the situation at hand.

Don't you hate it when you have a memory of something being super yummy and then you have again and all you can say is meh or yech. Sadly this is what happened to us last night as we dined here at Casey's. I should have listened to the tiny voice screaming in my head after standing at the front door staring at the please wait to be seated sign for 5+ min. with another group of 5 that had been there at least a few minutes before we showed up. The voice was screaming let's go somewhere else. I told the voice to shut up, they were busy, someone would at least pass by with a "someone will be with you in a minute". That never happened. We were finally seated. I should have also prefaced the beginning with the place was roaring loud, the tv was on and loud playing American Gladiators. As we found out after we were seated that more than 75% of the customers were there to watch American Gladiators because one of there own was on it. He was also in the restaurant. Let me get down to why I probably won't return to Casey's anytime in the near future. Ordered shepard's pie. Tasted like pepper with a side of meat and potatoes. Yech. And I like pepper. Was annoyed that one of the veggies listed was leeks and there wasn't a leek to be seen. Hubby ordered adult mac n cheese. He got a salad with his. Waitress asked what kind of dressing. He said blue cheese. He never got his salad. Grrrr or the blue cheese? His entree had virtually no flavor. He hates pepper and actually shook some on his dish. Whoa! Waitress never checked on us while we ate only after we finished when she asked the proverbial, "how was everything?" I shrugged and my husband said nothing. Her reply, "Great, so dessert tonight?" Don't ask the damn question if you aren't even remotely interested in the answer!!!!!! I wanted to complain to a manager, but my husband HATES when I do that...he proceded to tell me that I could complain all I wanted to on Yelp. How supportive. =P Oh and by the way the Denverite who was on American Gladiators he lost by the hair on his chinny chin chin in case you were wondering. Bummer.

I have been here three times now and it's consistently subpar. I've had the mac and cheese, the shephard's pie and the burger and they've all been blah. Service was sadly lacking - the staff's more concerned chatting amongst themselves than earning a fat tip. Given the choice, if I am ever hungry in Stapleton, I'd rather go to Chipotle or Noodles.

  • Dana W.

Gross. I've eaten here a few times and I will never go back. This last time, I thought I was safe ordering a salad- I was WRONG! I got a few pieces of lettuce swimming in a bowl of blue cheese. The chicken was really chewy and there were no other veggies. AND it was over $10 somehow. Disgusting.

  • Daniel B.

I will update them to 3 stars now that they have 2 dollar PBRs. I still wouldn't eat here if you don't have to. And if you do, pull a bulimic and throw it up. You are better off eating 3 dried sponges and following it up with a glass of water to feel full.

Casey's is just around the corner from me, and I have enjoyed both of my visits. It can get pretty busy around dinner time, but it's great for a semi-private business meeting during lunch hour. Prices are reasonable and the meals are decent. That being said, it is also nothing too special. I would only recommend it if you live nearby and are searching for a place to go with your friends for a few drinks.

While the local is fantastic, the wait staff seemed on the ball...the food left much to be desired. The fisherman's pie had shrimp with the tails left on them...you can't see what you are eating in the pie, so I don't think it is appropriate to have a tail on (PS, I am married to a chef, he agrees!) Again love the staff and the atmosphere...just don't go for the food!

Solid pub food. The service is generally good, the place is kid friendly, and some of the Irish dishes are very good. Five star, no. Solid place with the kids on Friday night? Yes.

it's ok food. Its major plus is convenience if you're in the stapleton area. If you're staying at any of the hotels around there (Best Western, Renaissance, Doubletree), it's easily within walking distance. A nice big screen TV for watching sporting events. Some nice daily specials, but pretty average food in my book. It does have some nice outdoor patio seating facing westward.

    (2)
  • matt h.

I still think the food is good, but the value is not quite what it once was. In particular, they need better beer specials. Also, they gave me grief for trying to use a coupon for a free beer when the coupon had no indication it was only good for certain beers.

Hate this place. Bad food and weak (yet expensive) and inconsistent drinks, each of the three times I've been here. I will NOT be back, despite how close it is.

Honestly, the last time I was at Stapleton was when it was an airport. Times have certainly changed. My friend and I went to Casey's after working up a serious appetite at a hard core yoga session (no pun intended). Maybe it was the fact that my stomach was eating itself after our work out, but my reuben was really good. Juicy without being greasy. Cheesy without cementing my mouth together - you know the feeling. It was also really quiet there. We were one of maybe five tables. All in all, I think that A-OK best describes Casey's.

    (3)
  • Carrie R.

If you find yourself in Stapleton and want a real draught beer, you can try Casey's. The food is not so great, and after eating there the first time, I've only gone back to grab a pint at the bar. They have roughly 20 beers on tap, including (at my last visit) Guiness, Smithwick's, Bass, Harp, and New Belgium Sunshine Wheat, among many others. I don't remember them all. But I mean, come on, how many can I try in a day? Yummm..... beer....

    (3)
  • Sherri K.

Very Average...and I have to say, when you sit down in an Irish Pub and they tell you the specials are Chimichanga's and margarita's (cause it's Mexican Monday), you gotta just laugh out loud. That's what I did, which caused a domino effect at our table, and even the server had to giggle. The first thing we noticed was that our booth back faced the window and every seat with a window had no view???? It's in a nice building which has no charm or ambiance, and it's unfortunate b/c everything in Stapleton is new. It could easily turn into a great neighboorhood restaurant, but outside of the lack of flavor in the surroundings the food was just ok. Nothing outstanding, not bad, but not great. It was clean and moderately priced and our server was slow but friendly. We opted for all Irish fare and I'm kinda wishing I tried the chimi~ On the good side they have a brilliant drink menu with a variety of good scotches for all palettes. Lots of beers and combo's of Black and Tans, snakebites... the usual (yet trendy) ways to ruin a Guinness :)

    (3)
  • David S.

Food is pricey for what you get - and precisely what you'd expect from a pseudo pub. The place looks nice, but the booths are all splitting and torn already. No need to go back.

Had a great al fresco cocktail on Thursday afternoon. Great service with a smile. They even gave our 11 year-olds their own table so they could have "girl talk". Super happy hour specials including yummy apps.

Sorry Casey's ... but labeling yourself an Irish Pub is pure poppycock. Yeah, I said poppycock. I've tried this place 5-6 times over the last 6 months and have been hard pressed to find a more lackluster meal in Denver. Flaky mashed potatoes, dry beef, and generally poor flavor in most items I've forced down my throat. The service there has always been friendly and generally pleasant so I feel somewhat bad for rating this place with 1 measly star. However I can't get over how terrible the menu is at Casey's. Did I mention they have a Mexican night? You can always trust your local Irish Pub when it serves tacos and has margarita specials. I mean really ....

Caseys is a good option for dinner and drinks in Stapleton. Read what you want into that, because I know Stapleton isn't a great area for food options. However, my wife and I have been to Casey's probably 5 times or more by ourselves, with family and with friends and we like it. I like the food I've ordered (Ruben, Steak Sandwich, French Onion soup, etc..), the atmosphere (dimly lit with dark wood), the staff is usually friendly and I like their beers on tap as well as the whiskey selection. Yes this is a convenient place for us (Park Hill), but we come back because we like it.

I would say overall the place was pretty bad. My food did not come as described on the menu and my service was horrible. I ordered the brie appetizer and a few of the things in the description didn't come on the platter. 15 minutes later when I could finally get the waitress flagged down to ask her to supply the missing items (the jam included) she left and came back a while later telling me they were out of those items. I understand restaurants run out of things but if it is an integral part of a dish - you need to let the patron know before ordering to ensure they still want the item. My Reuben was ok but I asked for an extra side of thousand island when ordering and of course when I got the sand which there was no extra side so AGAIN 15 minutes later when the waitress still hadn't come back to check how the food was, I was able to grab another server to get me the dressing. A few more problems occurred during the meal including never getting our drinks refilled. Needless to say, I wont be back. Service was terrible and food was less than medicare.
