Kip's is the best place to have a long, chill-out kind of dinner. They have the absolute best pineapple margaritas (and a special 2 for 1 margaritas on Wednesday evenings for women). They have a great patio, and often have some live music, great atmosphere no matter what. They mainly serve tacos, my favorite being the fish one. They have some good burgers too, my friend is a big fan of the elk burger. They serve everything with chips, they don't offer fries as an option. They have really good home made sauces that you have to make sure to ask for: esteban, jalapeno and a third one. They also sell them. For desserts, they have a a great de leche birthday cake, and I hear that the key lime pie is great. Great place, really!

Love this place. So far, it's my favorite place in Creede, CO. It is one of the only places that is open year round!

Great place to chill out and have some food/beers/cocktails (the Bloody Mary's are different, but good!) while you do your laundry. DO NOT get the Queso Fundido, though, especially if you're from Texas. I should mention that the laundromat is not the greatest. Small washers are $3.50 per load and the dryers take FOREVER ($.50 to start 10 minutes and then $.25 for every 5 minutes more.

I've eaten there two or three times. It's not bad, but it's not much better than road food. The last time I had a hamburger that seemed undersized, was prepared the wrong way, and was uninteresting. The wahoo (fish) tacos may be worth trying, though, as the ono fish tacos at the Kip's in Pagosa Spring were pretty good the day before.

Ian is AMAZING. Makes the best bloody Mary's, super attentive to all our needs. If visiting anywhere near Creede you need to stop by and see Ian. Quite frankly the ENTIRE family here at Kip's is amazing and everything we have had on the menu had been amazing.

A very large place, in a very small town. Excellent Mexican food, all around. Kip's Grill has lots of seats inside, outside, and up the stairs, I've found. It's got fun staff, decent salsa, tequilas, and the tacos are quite sound. I might go back, though it was a fluke, you see - I came to Creede to find a woodcarving friend, sculpting a tree. And Madre, well, she has some of her art in the best Creede gallery. So Kip, I hope you do well - but don't wait up for me!

If you find yourself in Creede and hungry you might want to give Kips a try. I had burger... It was delicious. Wife had the chicken enchiladas, they were really good and the kids had a pizza, I had to try a bite and it was really good too. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Live music was wonderful!

We were staying in South Fork for skiing and decided to drive up to Creede to explore a little. After stopping at Kip's, we were so glad we'd made the trip! The people were so welcoming to out-of-towners, the drinks were tasty and the food was excellent. We had stuffed peppers, pizza & tacos in our group, and all was really delicious. After eating we went back to the game room & had a great time playing shuffleboard. All the while, different employees would check in with us & stop and chat. We had a great evening at Kip's and will definitely be going there the next time we're in the area!

Went here for the Super Bowl with my dad and brother! We absolutely had a wonderful time! Kip was so welcoming and hilarious! Our waitress was fantastic! It is a great local bar that welcomes out-of-Towners. Now the food-really tasty, fresh and good! Guacamole was amazing, fish tacos great, pizza delish.... And the margaritas were the best I've had! Price is perfect! You will have a great time in this rustic, relaxed local pub!

Kips is always our favorite for local Bison or Elk burgers. We were up in Creede for the annual Chocolate Festival yesterday and were quite strung out on chocolate samples from all the merchants. Kips built a second story open air deck with a bar and 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and wildlife, upstairs is more casual-trendy. Sports bar feel downstairs with TVs and booths. Patio out front for dining or hanging out... frequently they have local musicians playing on the patio. Really friendly staff, one of the only year round places to eat in Creede. The staff always makes us feel like we're part of the family.

My husband and i wont be back. We ordered a beer and bloody mary. The bloody mary was horrible! It had some peppers in the drink and did not taste right. My poor husband agreed to drink it. Then we ordered the chips with chiles con queso: bad choice. Yuck! Chips cold out of a bag, some tasteless cheese with green chiles on top and charge a lot for it. Then as my husband goes to pay the bill (it was close to $20 but my husband keeps money for a tip separately) the long haired brunette says something nasty thinking he wasnt going to tip her. When she did that, my husband gave her half the twenty percent tip he usually gives, he tipped the musician and told me "lets get the hell out of here." And we left and wont be back. Its too bad a nasty waitress can ruin a date night. Servers should be gracious and courteous: this lady obviously thought she deserved to have us wait on her and not the other way around. The lady upstairs in the bar room needs a lesson in server etiquette.

Well, I never got the chance to find out how their food was because I walked up to the patio and a server looked at my like she had just seen an alien. I asked if perhaps I was entering the wrong way. She said, "Oh, well, we just stopped serving." So I went back to the car and told the family they had just stopped serving. But as I sat in the car waiting for my husband to get back in, I saw two women walk in, they were given menus and seated. ?????????? What was that about? Either she just didn't like the way I looked or they saw my black husband and mixed children and decided to "close". There were confederate flags flying high in the trailer park on the way into town so I'm not really sure which one it was.

A good casual option in Creede. Like many tourist towns the food isn't great, but this place has a nice vibe and reasonable food. Go for the tacos, skip the green chile, and the burgers are decent. A very nice selection of beers, and a good patio area to enjoy them on.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
