Nah, not my type of hispanic food. I had to go and I just wasn't impressed. I have other places to explore-- not coming back!

Food is good! Service is TERRIBLE and Management isn't any better. My order was wrong , never seem waitress, over charged on my Margarita. Was charged $19 for 1 If you decide to go, I do suggest Alberto as your waiter! I must have been pretty disappointed! I have never written a bad review .

Ate there last nite as part of a party of 12 adults and 2 kids. I had chimichangas which were not like any I ever had elsewhere. Barely edible served almost warm. Tomatoes and lettuce was warm probably from sitting under the heat lamp during the hour plus wait for our food which only materialized after someone in our party tried to chase down the server. Others in the party also complained about cold entrees. I have eaten there previously and had huevos is rancheros which also were unlike any I had elsewhere and also barely edible. The service is atrociously slow.

Noticed it was finally open on Monday so we thought we would try it for lunch. Next time we will keep driving to Taco Bell. The cheese in the enchalidas was not even melted, any everything else was luke warm at best. The service was the worst I have ever seen in a restaurant. I know we will not be going back. YUCK!

Coronas? More like CoroNOs. Ordered food to go. Cheese enchiladas w beans and rice, pork tamale w red sauce, and chile relleno. Everything tasted the same. Somehow they managed to be bland and oversalted at the same time. Mexican rice was so overcooked, and yellow, not traditional red. Had peas in it. No. Beans were watery. I like runny refried beans, but these were watery, not runny. Everything tasted processed or frozen. Ordered a chocolate shake (hey, it was on the menu so I assumed they knew how to make a decent one). Wrong. I seriously think they used milk, ice, and chocolate sauce then blended it. So nasty. I don't think there was even ice cream in it. They remade it and I asked for no ice, just ice cream and milk. It came back as chocolate milk from a blender. No joke. Same consistency as milk. I'm almost positive there was no ice cream. Just milk and chocolate sauce. To be fair, I just moved from California, so my expectations were perhaps too high. But I've eaten Mexican food all over the country and this was worst I've had. In fact, I had better Chile rellenos in the DEN airport. Going there for dinner on NONEday.

Getter better on service. Great margiritas. Love the taco salad with shredded chicken. Load it up with the out of this world green chile. My fiance always gets a smothered bean and beef burrito. The rice and beans are great as well. Nice flavor. We always return here for a bite to eat and cocktails.

Such a great find!! There are a bunch of dinner specials which are must tries! My favorite thing there has to be the mini rellenos which come in a bowl of green chile your choice of hot medium or mild. Sooo good!! Drinks are just as good. Patio seating is always a plus. Tons of dining room space and wait is never too long.

meh. it just wasn't that good. i ate it, but won't eat it again or recommend it. the people were nice, the service was slow (i was the only one there and it took 10 minutes for anyone to offer me a menu), and, as was mentioned, the food wasn't good. the rice was eerily similar to rice a roni's broccoli rice and the beans may have a day job in a school cafeteria somewhere.

Frustrated! I have eaten at Corona's every week or two because its close to my house and I love green chile. The Green Chile is good although there is very little pork in it. Service is hit or miss from horrible to ok It's common to get the wrong food. This could be a great restaurant if they had quality management, and they trained the employees properly. Green Chile: Good Other food Good Service: Poor Value Poor Will I go back? Probably, but I'll wait a while and hopefully they will hire some qualified food service employee's. Until then, I'll just drive down to Las Delicious when I am craving green Chile.

The waitress lied to my son and said they were out of Roy Rodgers, (coke and grenadine), because she was too busy to find out what that was... Or to even ask. Our food never came. They gave it to another table when it did. And the table next to us came in 10 min. before us and they had finished their dinner before even getting ours! Never going there again!

HORRIBLE service and just "ok" food. I like to give restaurants 3 tries before I completely mark them off my list. let's face it we all have bad days but when you have a bad experience all 3 times its not a fluke. The food is just "ok" it's not horrible but it's nothing to jump up and down and shout in excitement about either. The huge thing about Coronas that really made me throw in my towel was how HORRIBLE the service is!! All 3 visits either my husband or I had to get up out of our seats to track Down our waitress in the restaurant. Now I can understand if the restaurant is extremely busy and she's waiting on other customers but that wasn't the case in either of our 3 visits. (We like to eat at restaurants before or after the main rush). This last time we ate at Coronas it was around 2pm and we were the only customers in the restaurant area. (There were 3 customers in the bar area) I had to get up 5 times to find our waitress to let her know that we were ready to order our food, ask for a refill on our drinks, ask for more salsa and chips, let them know our order was wrong and to ask for our ticket to pay. They should be paying me for being "my own waitress " with all the work I did while I was there tracking down someone every time we needed something. NEVER again will we go back there!!! Save your time and $$ for a restaurant who really knows how to take care of their customers!!

I just don't get it. After 3 years of asking them to simply get my to go orders right I think I have to give up on Coronas. Meals either come home with things missing or cold.

    (2)
  • Melissa E.

Well it started off with cold conqueso and went downhill from there. Our drinks quickly depleted and sat empty until our food came. At that point we had no chips left, no drinks, and no silverware, no napkins, and no dressing to go with my salad. It took three people to get us what we need. A couple more drink run-outs and 25 minutes to get our check and we left pretty peeved. The food was decent but far from authentic and definitely not good enough to get us to come back.

Hands down this was the worst dining experience I have ever had. The least of their many problem was that the soda machine was broken and they had no Corona. How exactly does Corona's not have Corona? The more annoying problem was that 5 out of the 10 meals we ordered were cold, not even warm. The other 5 were warm, not hot. This after sitting and waiting for 50 minutes. After our meals came back, the plates were hot but the food still cold. So cold in fact that the cheese inside my enchilada was solid. Needless to say, 90% of the food we ordered stayed on the plate because it was not edible. It took 40 min to get beer and not only did we have to ask for water refills but we were never asked if anyone would like another beer. When I spoke to the Mgr. about our experience, he apologized and offered to comp the cold meals but charged us for the warm meals. This establishment operates as though they do not want repeat business and that is exactly the message we received LOUD AND CLEAR, we will never go back. Thankfully Corona's is not the only gig in town. Adiós Corona's!

I love this place so much. I've been going here for about 3 years now. I've always had great service (day or night). The food is always steaming hot & delicious. The waiters & waitresses always seem to be different each time I go in, regardless, they are always polite & courteous. This is Colorado & every restaurant seems to serve their version of 'green chili' but Coronas has some of the yummiest green chili I've ever had. It's very delicious, you can also order your own heat preference for it (mild, hot, very hot etc). I've never been disappointed with anything here. They have gluten free options available, I think the prices are reasonable & portions are large. I recommend: Green chili Green chili cheese fries Fajitas (chicken & steak) Chili relleno Tostadas Quesadillas Burritos Huevos rancheros

GREAT FOOD AND DRINKS! Even my to-go order was great. But please do something about the overwhelming stench in the bathrooms that never goes away........

We were visiting family from Los Angeles and this place was recommended as a favorite of my grandmother's, so we brought her in. First of all, the service was fantastic. Alex was our server and he was friendly, flexible, and very responsive to our requests and needs. I had a "Steak Coronado" (I hope that's what it's called, I don't quite remember) which was carne asada with caramelized onions and peppers on a bed of mashed potatoes. This was something I'd never had before--never even thought to include mashed potatoes with Mexican food. I really, really enjoyed it. My grandmother enjoyed her chile relleno, and I don't remember what my husband and son ate, but they were very satisfied as well. My son ordered horchata and raved about it. The meals for all four of us were very affordable.

Found what was a hair in salsa. Manager proceeded to bring another salsa out and try to show me how it was fiber from the jalapeños. He never found one to show me. I checked the hair by trying to break it and it looked like hair and acted like hair.

Great green chili, great salsa. Ok food. 2 out of 3 visits food was cold and the wait was long. Might go back, might not.

Pretty much everything on the menu is good. My favorite dish is the Carnitas. They also have a lot of gluten free options which is important for my family.

So yummy! We've tried a couple Mexican restaurants since moving out here and they've been good but so spicy got that we either can't eat our meals or barely can. Love that we got a choice of spice here and the mild was really mild. My daughter doesn't tend to be a big fan of Mexican but ate all her dinner tonight. We'll definitely be back!

I give Corona's 5 stars for their food, and 1-2 stars for their service. The food is amazing - the burritos, tacos, and green chile is SO GOOD. The chips and salsa are ok. The service is very bad. The servers are nice but take you forever to get your drinks and/or food (I've waited for 40 minutes before for WATER - we got our food before we got our water). The orders always get messed up no matter what server you have, not sure if that's their problem of the kitchen's. They don't check on you once you get your meal, so good luck if there are any issues or you need anything else. We've been here probably a dozen times. The only time you get good service is if you sit in the bar area. Last night 4 of our 6 meals were incorrect, which sadly is pretty common (cheese on my burrito, yes I ordered without cheese b/c I can't have dairy), a hamburger instead of a Mexican hamburger, and no beans with 2 orders when we only ordered one without beans. No apologies or comps on the ticket for anything. Prior experience, they brought margaritas instead of what we ordered (two Sprites), again put cheese on the burrito when I asked for none, and brought my b/f a chicken burrito when he ordered steak. Moving out of the area so we won't be back. We would if the service was better, because the food is so good.

Ordered a detailed/abnormal food to-go order and the waitstaff was super helpful and made no mistakes (yay). The chile is very good and not too spicy at all. My shrimp tacos were cooked really well and came with tasty guac and salsa. A nice Mexican option in this part of town.

This place is hit or miss. Tonight our food was cold. The staff does not communicate with each other. We ordered coke and we received Dr. Pepper. If you eat here, the Taco John is the best.

    (2)
  • Deb A.

The restaurant is hit an miss. Sometimes I really enjoy my meal, other times it was not great. When it's good, it's really good. Twice I have been up sick all night following eating there. The jamica and horchatta are really good, which is hard to find.

    (2)
  • Colleen C.

Not a fan. I've tried this place several times and the meals always seems like giant portions of cheap food. I also feel like they are really lacking healthier options.

  • D S.

Very disappointing in the quality of food and service. I have been here numerous times and always had incredible service and the food was always piping hot. I brought company here tonight for the first time and boy was I embarrassed. Our waiter brought us the incorrect order and the nice lady that serves the chips was over accommodating. Me being a part of this community saddens the experience tonight.

This was our 2nd time ordering takeout from them. The first time was ok, would rate a 3. This second time, I called in an order and they said it would take 15-20min. We left our house which is only a few blocks away, pulled up to the bar and let them know we were there to pick up our order. After about 5min, a girl came out and said it would be another 5-10min because they were waiting on the chicken tacos to finish. We got them about 15 min later, paid and went home. Once we were home, the chicken tacos which were supposed to be coming right off the grill were cold and unappetizing. My order of Gordita Mama's were barely warm. Due to two lackluster visits, not a place we will be visiting again.

Don't go here for the margs -they will disappoint. But everything else is fabulous! The people are so nice and the service is always reliable. Their shrimp tacos are great, as is the Mexican pizza appetizer. I've never been let down by their food. It's hands down the best Mexican food place in the area!

We were in last night for dinner following a very stressful day so our ultimate goal was just a relaxing evening where we did not have to do the cooking. The menu has a lot of options and we were satisfied with our food. What left us a little uneasy was the interaction we had with our server. First, he got my boyfriends beer order incorrect but we opted to be easy-going and just let it go. We also ordered a 20 ounce beer and when they were delivered we both immediately assumed we'd gotten the wrong size...again, we opted to just go with the flow but did state we would check to make sure we were not charged for them. Upon receiving the bill we were charged for the 20 ounce size so I asked him about it. First, he tried to measure it up to the customer next to us, whose beer was obviously larger, which was very uncomfortable. Then he brought us three sizes of glasses and gave us a measurement lesson. Now at the end of the day we weren't really upset and were never rude but the reaction to our inquiry was very strange. Working in the service business myself I just thought it could have been handled a little better and with the feelings and experience of the customer in mind. I think it does create a great opportunity for someone to work with this server on future interactions.

My husband and I have been eating at Corona's in Broomfield for at least four years. It is a wonderful place to eat at and the service is wonderful as well. Martin and Juana are the best wait staff. The restaurant is always clean and everyone is friendly.

My family and I had dinner here this past weekend and really enjoyed it! Our server was Angie and she was an outstanding waitress - friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She doted on our kids and made us feel welcome and week cared for. The food was great - I had the fajita burrito and it was delicious. My husband had a combo plate and loved it. The only things keeping this from being a five star review are the salsa (bland) and the less than desirable veggies in the rice (Lima beans? Yuck!). The restaurant itself was clean and well decorated and we will definitely be back!

I've had a good meal at Carona's, but you need to call first to see if they decided to open that day...or maybe they closed for a good reason like too many servers are sick. Whatever the case, call first. If it was my restaurant I would ditch the crappy servers (I've sat at the bar for 15 minutes without a "hi", moved to a table to meet a rude waitress), ditch the lazy management, keep the cooks, and start over. Until Carona's make big changes, I will continue to eat at other establishment that are consistent and pleasant. I recommend La Casa Del Ray in smelly commerce city. Terrible location but the food is good, the servers are nice, and the management sticks to their published hours...what a concept!! The owners of the Broomfield Carona's franchise might want to look at this restaurants business model. Carona's Mexican Restaurant needs serious help...it's gone too far down hill. I hope it can recover. I feel bad for the investor.

Great crispy rellenos and flavorfull green chili! Food was great, distinct CO style green chili, excellent bar service. Chili was not really spicy at all for this Gringo....perhaps a ittle more heat would be better.

  • Jean D.

The food is wonderful and is always consistently good, no matter what time of the day or night you eat there. The pricing is very low, yet the quality is exceptional. Juanita is the best server there; however, everyone there is attentive and helpful. I was introduced to this place a few months ago and have been back at varying times with different individuals and each time was impressed with service, food, and pricing.

Best advice, don't go! Went to the new restaurant located at 90th and wads. Overlooked some of the bad reviews, poor decision. Experienced the same thing. Super excited because we missed the normal hour wait. After seated took 20 min to get drink order, nearly a hour to get food. Food was cold. our Babies,PB&J came out after or food. Manager took care of food bill, but charged us for 1soda. a terrible experience over all. Had to eat food as leftovers and ate McDonald's on way home! At least I know why the wait is normally so long. Not great food, just poor service! I won't return. Bad thing is, my wife was asked about the restaurant at work and a minimum of 10 people heard about it. I don't think they will be future customers either!

I went to the New location on 88th Wadsworth Friday twice, first time 12 noon for a takeout menu and got no help. Then I went that nite for take out and the lady yelled at me to go to corner, I waited there for awhile and no one came to help. I don't care if this is the best food in town if there's no customer service it doesn't matter!!!:Avoid this dump!!!

Used to be 4-5 star . Would dine here at least once a week but something has happened. Lately horrible service, mediocre food and barely any chili on smothered items. Hope they get it back together... Miss it!

Major positives; staff are wonderful, friendly. Place is bright, clean, airy, a it chilly though. That is worth the 2 stars, otherwise it would be 1 star. CONS. Let me start by saying I am not a Mexican, or US variations experts. - Breakfast burritos are never what I order, or expect. Once I ordered a breakfast burrito. I got a beef one. The beef looked and tasted cheap. 2nd time, I ordered the same, and added ham. I got a ham burrito, with almost zero eggs and the potatoes were hard and greasy. I once ordered Huveos Ranchero. Again not at all what I expected at all. Was greasy, and the base burrito was fried solid brick like. Yuk. Soups, again they look good, but are uneatable for me. They are basically salt broth. The Poselo (sp) looked good, but was so salty it was not eatable. It probably 7 days of salt in a small bowl. Juices; cost $2/$3, not refillable free, but is served like Pepsi, 90% ice, so 10% of glass is cheap juice for $3 - no way. Not sure what advise to give them.

Seemed like we were ignored by the wait staff and especially from the waitress. She seemed to be new because she had no idea what she was doing. Took forever to come greet us after we (my wife and I) got seated, then took a long time to come take our orders. We asked for specialty drinks and she had no clue what they had to offer. Even the beers on tap she was clueless about. Overall the food was ok, nothing to special or out of the ordinary.

My first night dining here (or attempting to dine I should say) was the worst service at any restaurant I have ever had. We went with some friends just for a casual dinner and arrived around 5:30. We were seated at a quarter till seven after being told 10-15 minutes. The hostess was the rudest I've ever spoken with and seated numerous parties larger than ours of 9 people after telling us that there just wasn't room right now. Anyways, after being seated our drinks and orders were not taken at least a half hour after we had sat down. Waiting for food for an hour, seeing people sit, eat, and leave before we had even gotten our order. Finally, we spoke with the manager who offered a discount and to rush the kitchen. Still waiting, we up and left without food or even refills on our drinks. I'm hesitant to even give them one star. DO NOT EAT HERE.

We live right across the street from Corona's and go there at least once a week!! I'm obsessed with their crispy rellenos with the hot green chili! Yumm! And their Cadillac margarita is dangerous but also a favorite! Always in the mood for this place!

    (5)
  • Mike H.

Since they opened the new coronas on 88th and Wadsworth the one on 136th and zuni is just not the same. We would make a point to go there every week if not twice a week. The service sucks and the food changed so much. And not for the good. Bring back the original staff and original management and try and save this store. From what I am reading very few people are happy with the 88th restaurant either.

  • Kathy A.

I'm glad we went back. Our first experience wasn't so good, but I'm glad we went back. We ate in the bar because there was a wait. (On a Tuesday at 5:30) The service was good, the food good also. I can't give them a 5 because parking is awful. I understand they are working on this issue with Bali. We will absolutely go back. We so want a good Mexican restaurant, and they could fill the bill!

    (4)
  • Ellen W.

The food has always been ok, it's the service that is the problem. We had a server take well over an hour to even get our food out and he never brought us anything to sign. After being there for more than two hours, we left after he ran our card. The next day a 20% tip charge showed up on our credit card. We immediately called the manager who said he would pull the slip. When he called back, he had a slip "signed" by my husband that we said we would come look at. Conveniently, that manager was never there when we went in and another manager couldn't find the slip. That manager said he would find the slip and get it taken care of. Two weeks later, no call back. THIS PLACE STEALS MONEY AND FORGES SIGNATURES!! If you do go, be sure to check your charges the next day.

Food: The food was good. I was not disappointed. However that being said there is also nothing special about it that makes it stand out above other solid Mexican places. Service: I've been here a couple of times and so far its been slow in regards to service. I feel they could be more attentive. I had a couple of times when my drink was just all ice and I had to wait a while to get a refill. Atmosphere: Typical decor nothing really to report. What I did like was that the place is very load because the music is turned up which forces everyone to talk louder. This is always a plus when you bring kids :)

This is a great place to go and have some drinks in the bar, or to have a full dinner. There is nothing bad at this place, and the taco John is really tasty. If you want a great drink, get their huge house margarita, it will knock your socks off!

  • Max C.

Ordered the tortilla soup and tortillas on the side, came out same time as meal and was awful, nothing fresh. Tortillas were definitely not fresh made, were very chewy, more like pitas. Combo plate was not very good red sauce was very weird. Margaritas were watered down heavily. And they didn't have a drink menu to know what they had. Our waitress (gabby) was very nice and helpful but host at front desk was very slow.

The atmosphere screams stereotypical Mexican restaurant, but the food definitely shows the american food influence. The service is excellent with fast and helpful servers who are knowledgeable with the menu. The location of the bar is separated from the majority of the tables, most like for families to enjoy their meals with out alcohol around their kids. The atmosphere is party-like, but lacks true Hispanic /Mexican authenticity. The food has been transformed from authentic Mexican dishes to a greasy Tex-Mex combo. For instance, in my Huevos Rancheros, the soft tortilla was replaced with a dry hard fried slab of flour. The fajita my acquaintances were having was filled a meat to vegetable rating of 15:1. The saving grace of the greasy foods was the enormous quantity. All in all, there are much better Mexican restaurants which represent authentic Mexican food.

I want to love this place - it's close and sort of friendly. Just that the food is hit or miss. On weekends and in the warmer months, prepare for a half hour to forty five minute wait. Had a great waiter, the place wasn't really busy on a Tuesday night. Had a killer rum and Coke and that should have set my palate for whatever came next. For starters, any restaurant serving Mexican food should have killer chips and salsa. It sets the tone. Corona's chips do not taste fresh, just bland. Even with salt, not a draw. The salsa is fine but I'm never going to work up a powerful thirst munching on those chips. Now Sarah B had some good chips in August, what happened? The chile relleno - a seven on a ten scale, the tamale, a five. The beans and rice were good. I'll be back but less often and with diminished enthusiasm. And that's because the northern burbs need more kick butt Mexican restaurants.

Love the food! The avocado chicken burrito is the best! The service is usually not great so we typically order take out. The have it ready by the time we get there and it's delicious!

  • Ryan M.

Food is decent but the service is quite lacking. The bar especially needs work. On our latest visit, there were 50+ glasses lined up on the south side of the bar, obstructing two seats. If they had staff that actually wanted to work, this would be a great spot in Broomfield. The value for what you get is a bit lacking. Hire some energetic staff and make this place into what it should be!

By far my favorite carnitas in Westminster. I have never had a bad experience. Always a great staff, good drinks and food comes out amazingly quickly. My boyfriend and I like everything we have ordered and the green chili is great for everyone with mild medium or hot. So delicious. I would bring my family or friends anytime.

Corona's is a generally competent Mexican restaurant, with a whopper drink - a coronita margarita. Ambience is typical Tex-Mex, on the slightly tacky side. Hats on the wall and all that. Their "medium" level of spiciness is not particularly hot; haven't tried the "hot" level. Last time there, I had a combo plate with a cheese enchilada, chile relleno, bean tostada, rice and beans. The enchilada and the tostada were workmanlike. The relleno tasted fine, but I get nervous when I can't tell which was the stem end. Makes me think the relleno chili is somehow reconstituted out of something. It was all adequately done. While I haven't had one, I had to notice the coronita margaritas. This is a typical wide margarita glass with some kind of holder that dumps a coronita (small Corona beer) upended into it. Looks huge. The margaritas themselves are generous and good. As an alternative, generally OK place, with decent service & margs. For purely better Mexican nearby I'd go to Chico's - a tiny dive-y place nearby on Lowell. But no margs, no ambience, extremely limited menu, etc.

Chips and salsa were good - salsa could have been a little spicier. Ordered a Cadillac margarita with Patron and am not a fan. But then the food came. I ordered a build your own combo, with a ground beef taco, bean tostada, crispy chili relleno and beef and bean burrito, with hot green chili (you have a choice of mild, medium or hot). It was delicious! I am a green chili snob, and Corona's has what I consider a very good green chili. My BFF had a cheese enchilada and beef flauta on her combo plate; she said they were both delicious. The four-item build your own combo is a lot more food than I can eat at one sitting, but I had lunch for the next day. And I can't wait to go aqain and try other dishes. But I know I'll order at least one item with that delicious hot green chili.

hmmm, I dunno. The chips and salsa were amazing, 5 star. I asked for the extra hot salsa and while it's super hot, it's also super flavorful. I was really looking forward to my combo while eating these warm chips and awesome salsa. But then my dish came. Very disappointing. Hard beef taco: The beef was like dog food. What the heck did they do to it??? Bean tostada: Ok. Just average. The beans were flavorless and lame. Chili relleno: Like a frozen chimichanga heated up. And, the medium green chili - awesome!!! So I dunno. I'll give them another try just based on the green chili and salsa. Maybe I should try some of their specialties, or fajitas? What are these guys known for?? Not the beef, omg unless you love dog food.

I love this place! The only downfall is that service can be a bit slow, but maybe that's because the food is quick to get to the table. I love the home style enchiladas!!! They have a great selection of green chile and salsas! Margaritas are delicious. Staff is always friendly. I've never had a bad experience here. I always leave with a to go box because I always eat too many chips!

Excellent Mexican food and great service! This is our favorite Mexican food. Try the Grilled Chicken Avocado Burrito, "AWESOME".

Sweet wife and I have eaten here many times, mainly because of the KILLER MARGARITAS. Really, the margs are just right... very tasty and plenty strong. The wait staff is top notch and very attentive, but not overly so, which is hard to achieve. The food, most times, is excellent. We often get their Carnitas. Most times this is extra good, really juicy and great flavor, but this most recent time it was a little dried out. The enchiladas are really good, especially if you ask them to cook them "Home Style", which means "flat & crispy". The Taco John, the steak and avocado burrito, and the Torta sandwich are also worth a try. If you can avoid sitting by the windows, do, because they're a little drafty and you'll need to keep your jacket on during your meal (management, please note :) All in all, RECOMMEND!

Not impressed. My waiter didn't even pull enough chairs for our table. I had to go out and steal another one from another table. We didn't get enough menus and 2 of us didn't have forks or napkins. The food wasn't too great. It came out cold and I ended up eating only half of it..Which was a challenge to get through. I might have ate more if it wasn't for the fact that the food got dropped off and that was the last anyone saw of the wait staff. I had to request a refill 3 times for all the drinks at the table. I hear the adult drinks are good hear. Which I guess is ok. But its not just a bar...Maybe work on training your waitstaff to be a little more on the ball on basic things like menus, chairs, silverware, and drinks. This place left nothing more than a bad taste in my mouth.

Love this place! Great Happy Hour, tasty margaritas and a decent salsa with chips. Love their nachos, but get a 1/2 order as they are huge! So glad they moved in so close to us!

Delicious and healthy grilled chicken salad-fresh salsa. The interior of this restaurant is great, it feels like your sitting outdoors.

this place feels like ................... a chain. Service was fine - the chili rellenos had to be sent back because the cheese inside was barely warm. Definitely nothing horrible about the place, but I would never go out of my way to go there

Have been back here a few times since my first review and have been more impressed. The food has been consistently good and the margaritas have been better. Service is still a bit on the inconsistent/slow side but everything else has been good. Definitely gets busy on Friday/Saturday evenings so plan accordingly. The beer-bottle chandeliers (see picture) in the bar are a nice touch as well :-)

Standard Mexican place that is a little bit less greasy then 3 Margarita's. Try the Carnitas they are pretty good here.

The food is mediocre - not amazing but not bad. Problem is, it takes way too long to make it to your table. 20 minutes at least. We have come because of convenience, but once we are familiar with the area, we won't come back.

Very very happy to have a reasonably priced Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood. Corona is much bigger than it looks from the outside. Initially I thought it was a small cafe style place but its actually quite large and has a very roomy bar. The prices are great most items on the menu are around $9 with only a few in the double digits. The chips and salsa are great and the salsa has grilled peppers in it providing a smoky taste. It's clear that the owners are interested in flavor my Carne Asada was tender and tasted great. My wife had the Spicy Chicken Tacos and added green chili it was all excellent. I will be back for sure.

  • Nicole C.

This place is just ok. The salsa wasn't very good. My husband ordered the Gorditas Mamas and said it was just alright. I had the cheese enchiladas and they were pretty mediocre. Not very cheesy and drenched in a green chile with not much flavor. The rice was interesting, definitely an acquired taste. The best part of my meal was the beans. So...probably won't be coming back again. There's just too many other Mexican restaurants I'd rather spend my money at first.

Ate here for the first time last night. The food was amazing. ...spocy hot, good flavor and reasonably priced. We live in Windsor but will absolutely make the drive again. Best green chili we've had in a long time.

So.... out here in the burbs its hard to find a place to eat mexican food that doesnt make me want to gag... Coronas delivered! :) The service was ok... nothing all that special. Honestly I couldnt tell you what our server looked like cause i never really saw her.... Had to flag down someone for a refil! I know I am drinking water but come on.... The chips and salsa were yummy! I had the steak tacos and they hit the spot. Not the best I have ever had but certainly not the worst! Generous portions but a bit salty for my liking... not for the rest of the table :)

I did not taste the food ( I did not have a chance too!), so I cannot rate on that aspect. However, I with a group of 4 others went to Carona's yesterday for lunch. We walk in and wait to be seated...a waiter noticed us walking in...walks by without saying anything. 2 minutes later- An older waiter notices us from the back, keeps walking. 1 minute later- I yell "hello??" .....nothing. 2 minutes later- The same older waiter has menu's and walks to the greeting area, sits the menu's down on the hostess table, looks at us again, and walks away. We left. As we leave, the hostess appears and asks if we been helped. We told her what happened as we were leaving. "Sorry"- she says.

Corona's has been a favorite of ours for a while now. It's a great local place to get together - especially with a big group. The food is always good and the portions are generous. I'm usually one to get a combo because I can't decide, but their fajitas are amazing! Basically whatever I've ordered at Corona's has been great. Now, all food aside, Corona's has some of the best frozen margaritas around. Beware however, they are known to sneak up on you. You don't realize how strong they are until...well, until you need a ride home (yes, that's happened with my group! LOL!). Last night I enjoyed a new amazing treat - frozen Sangria. Wow! So, why not 5 stars? It was a toss up because the last two times I've been there the service has been lacking. Not horrible, but not great. Last night our waiter missed two people's orders at our table. We had to flag down another server to help is out. Oh well, the food and drink make up for it.

Yes! Found another Awesome Mexican restaraunt!!! I like to read other reviews, and a couple of people said they liked the salsa, but their main meal was bland. What? Well, if you order the "mild" version, of course its gonna be bland! I ordered the "Medium" of the Grilled Chicken & Avocado Burrito and of was awesome-spicy! It was smothered in green chili sauce, very good! The service is really good. Our waitress was very attentive. --Gary.

Well I love the food...carnitas are my favorite. BUT after several trips here over the last year the most consistent thing is terrible service! It doesn't matter who the server is, once they deliver your food to the table, you'll never see them again! Its really annoying when you have to grab any employee you see to get some help. Don't go if you are in a hurry...but that's where I want to go when I want MEXICAN!

  • Jared H.

If you like hot chili this is the place for you!! The food is always good, not great or over the top--but good. The service is usually average at best. The hot chili really is hot. I am fairly sure they get the spice from habanero peppers because it has a different flavor. I recommend either the carnita and avocado burrito or the shrimp cocktail with extra salsa on the side. House margarita's or "ok"---specialty margarita was great but it ought to be for $9.

    (4)
  • Matthew B.

Decent Mexican food. However, the Carnitas stand out. They are excellent. I have gotten the plate, burrito, and torta, all with carnitas and they are excellent. The margaritas are very good, but also on the pricey side if you get something other than the house. Good chips and salsa. Hot green chili is above average. It is more a Colorado style than New Mexico style. It can be busy on the weekend nights, but grab a drink at the bar and wait it out!

My husband and I have gone twice now. (My new thing is going at least twice before reviewing a place, to make sure my experience is consistent.) We were really happy to find this place. The decor is tasteful, not tacky, the service is pleasant, and the food is actually pretty darn good. We prefer to order everything UN-smothered, because it's just TOO heavy on our stomachs if it's smothered. But if you like yours smothered, their green chili has a great flavor. I LOVED their tamales. The only thing I didn't care for were their cheese enchiladas. I thought they tasted odd, but my husband liked them. Also, there is tons of parking, so we've never had a problem with that. This is now our go-to sit Mexican restaurant.

Living in Los Angeles for 10 years and traveling to different parts of Mexico numerous times, this place is not even close. Service was decent, drinks were moderate. the food was rookie at best. I can almost hear the microwaves and can being opened. Maybe I am being harsh, but, I am a food brat and this place was not up to par. I will try again one day because I can always forgive and forget after a while. If you think this is 5 star mexican food you have not lived yet. I was excited to have something close by, but in the end was disappointed. Hopefully better next time. Anyone can have an off day.

We had been to this restaurant twice before, and decided we would not go back. Then my wife won a $20 gift card. Even at half price, it wasn't worth it. Food is a 3, fine but nothing special. The margarita is a 2, it tastes like Kool Aid. The decor is nice. The service is a ZERO. No, it was zero the first two times. Today it was in negative territory.

Coronas is a great addition to the area! It is hard to find places up North to eat that are worth going to, but the food here is great! The most recent item i ordered was the Taco John which was flavorful. From the handful of visits that I have had, I have had fast friendly service. There was a time where the Margarita's took a little time (happy hour) but they were comp'ed which makes up for it =) Will def go back!

Not too bad. I visited Corona's with my family, we ordered several dishes so we could have an idea of what was good. After trying all of it..we all thought it was ok...but not great. Service was marginal.

This is your standard strip mall Mexican restaurant next to a King Soopers nestled far away in suburbia. Think of glass water cups tented blue around the rim and margaritas served in super-wide green stemware. And if any of the servers also work at the Olive Garden, they won't have to change clothes between jobs. Those two facts about sum up the feel of the place. The menu features standard gringo Mexican fare with nothing unconventional, unique, or particularly ethnic. While most authentic Mexican restaurants in Denver-proper have impressive seafood selections and shrimp cocktails, this place has "crispy tacos" and rum-based cocktails. On to the meal. Our complimentary chips and salsa were delicious with freshly fried chips and a well-balanced, though extremely mild, salsa. Corona's suburban competitor, Hacienda Colorado, should take notice of what chips and salsa are supposed to be like, because this is it. My chili rellenos were stuffed with melty goodness, wrapped in pablano pepper skins, and deep fried inside a chewy yet crispy wrapper. The purist in me thinks there should be a visible pepper stem sticking out, but this burrito-like method is acceptable too. Unfortunately, they were topped with Denver's most mediocre green chili that disguises its lack of flavor with chunks of pork. Unlike many Coloradans and almost all New Mexicans, I think pork is acceptable in green chili, but it should be shredded, not in chunks that look like moon rocks. My enchilada was good enough to eat, but not enough to remember. And my tostada had a healthy helping of unremarkable guacamole. On the plus side, Corona is reasonably priced and located far away from any real competition. Negra Modelo is on tap, even if it's served in a ridiculous blue glass that looks like it should contain Sunny D in a trailer park. If you're looking for a Mexican bite and you're in the area, Corona is an acceptable option. It's good by Broomfield/Westminster standards, but not by Denver standards.

Been here a few times, the foods not bad, had better, had worse. The deep fried cheesecake is awesome, and I liked the chili rellanos. Most of the times I've been there, the service was borderline horrific. If you need anything, you pretty much have to go search for someone to help you. I would go a lot more often if the service wasn't so shabby

  • Sarah P.

I really want to like this place, it is two minutes from my house but every time I go it is just okay. Pretty ridiculous to make people wait 30 minutes when the dining room is half empty but the food is just bland and the Margs are super weak. I think I will drive into Boulder or Denver next time I need a Mexican fix.

Well kids.. just when I think I've had the best Mexican food I've ever eaten, I find a little jewel like Corona's and have to re-think everything! My girlfriend and I were there for a late lunch yesterday. She mentioned to me that the carnitas were very good, but I was in the mood for a chimichanga. I had the best of both worlds... a Carnitas Chimichanga smothered in the HOT green chile. I devoured the whole thing and wanted to lick the plate! The chile was SUPER HOT, but full of flavor! Some chiles I've had are just hot with no discernable flavor. This was incredible chile! A bucket of Corona Light and told Albert to keem 'em comin! We had a blast sitting out on the patio, chatting, laughing, eating, drinking... I closed my eyes at one point and felt like I could have been on a beach in Mexico. It was such a good, content feeling ... a delicious meal, cold drinks, great waiter, with my best friend... doesn't get any better than that. I highly recommend this beautiful little Mexican treasure!

Wife and I eat here regularly. She loves the cool blue margarita, while I really enjoy the carne asada platter with the hot green chili, which is very flavorful. Chips and salsa are great as well. Food and service keep us coming back for more!

Been a few times and must say its solid Mexican. Good tacos, rellenos, tamales. The red sauce is good but too much when smothered over everything, would switch it up a bit next time. Also, amazing Coronaritas! Even though they are quite pricey, but you are getting a giant margarita with a corona in it so there you go. Good go to place to have around the corner.

This is so-so Mexican food, at best. Atmosphere = 5 Service = stinks Food = 2.5 There is way better out there - but nice, cold beer and a good tequila selection.

  • Amanda K.

Corona's has great food (I love the flour hard shell tacos!) but the place is so loud you can hardly hear a person sitting next to you and the service is a little below average. I'd recommend it on a quieter weeknight or if you don't mind the noise. They have a really nice patio.

I really like this place. It's kids friendly, great food, fast service. I LOVE the salsa. Sometimes more spicy than others, but always delicious. Generous portions and I think the prices are EXCELLENT! It's the same price as Chipotle, but with chips/salsa and the whole sit down experience. The help are all very friendly. I've been going here since they opened. Also very clean. Great atmosphere, not outdated and gross like a few Mexican places close by. Sitting on a ripped stinky chair from the seventies ruins the experience no matter how good the food may be. You won't have that here, all new and clean. They also do big groups. We reserved the back room for a birthday party for our daughter. What a great time. :)

I can see why this place is popular. But it's not because the food. There are way better Mexican restaurants close by, but they don't have the feel of this clean and new restaurant. The food toned down in flavor and doesn't taste fresh. They tout their carne asada, I ordered it and found the cut hard to chew. What is it about this dish that people rave about? It never melts in your mouth and gives your jaw muscles a major workout. The enchiladas were also a menu highlight, we ordered them with red sauce, BLAND! The Mexican Hamburger tasted like it was one of those frozen patties from the supermarket. The chips and salsa were okay not spicy. And their house margaritas are excellent and big ($4 during happy hour 4-7).The service was slow and inefficient. Most of the servers we noticed would do one table at a time and then disappear for a long time before re-emerging. Overall I think that this is one of the last restaurants you should try while in Broomfield.

This place is horrible. The food is awful, tasteless. They wrap their chile rellanos in egg roll wrappers, EGG ROLL WRAPPERS??? WTF? That is SO, SO wrong. We won't ever go back. I wish I had asked for a refund. Who the hell wraps chile rellanos in egg roll wrappers????? Disgusting.

It's not bad for what you pay for. You get the obligatory free chips and salsa and the create your own meal is the standard fair. If you don't want some homemade menudo soup or Ceviche you won't be disappointed. I always leave with lunch for tomorrow.

Went there tonight for my second trip. Didn't think much the first time around. This trip changed my mind. I like my food spicy. These guys serve warm chips with salsa that has a kick. Good start. I ordered the carnitas/avocado burrito smothered with hot green chile. It was nice and spicy. I haven't had a green chile make me sweat in a long time. This place does it right. Everyone loved their food. Thanks Corona... you have a new fan.

Meh. The food was all very bland, we were really dissapointed! Even my kids thought the food had no flavor. They've decorated nicely, and the service was just ok. Can't really reccomend Corona's to anyone.

    (2)
  • Rick L.

Slow service, decent burrito, chile was tasty. I don't feel like it was worth ten dollars, but I'm sure the rent in this area is pricey. Steak was similar to the strips one gets from cheaper joints like Chubby's, and there was about half an avocado in my burrito. My mother in law received a cold chili relleno which means they're not fresh made. It'd have to give the place a B- overall.

So glad Corona's is in North Metro! I have been bitching so much about getting some flavor around here that I'm driving myself crazy! There is NO F%$&*^ FLAVOR in the north burbs! I found out it is not a chain. YAY!!!!! The owners have 2 locations and the other is by the airport. I didn't have to take my rings off in the middle of the night because I swelled up from the salt! I wish restaurants would stop putting so much salt in the food! I went here 2 times (just to be sure, hee hee) and I have to disagree with the other review that said that they need to get their S*** together. I guess they read that and got it together! Yay for them and my taste buds! The restaurant was very nicely decorated without all the Mexican knik knacks on the walls. Corona's has a much more Spanish sophisticated look. The bar area is very nice with high top tables and a nice tequila selection. Our waiters were David and Elisa (separate nights) who were both awesome! They were both very personable and attentive without being obnoxious. The salsa with the chips was absolutely great. Very flavorful without tasting like it is out of a jar, with a very nice kick to it! I had the chicken chimi with the medium green chili sauce. I could have gone hotter but I didn't want to blow my head off the first time. The next time I had the chicken enchilada, fabulous! I liked the fact that on the back of the menu they explain the sauces and list them from hot to mild. I would have switched the order of the chip salsa with another one. The chip salsa seemed hotter that the medium green chili sauce to me and they listed it as mild. Our food came really fast and was surprisingly good. The portions are big but not too big. I hadn't eaten since 1 and it was 6:30. I ate my whole chimi and it was the perfect amount. On another occasion I probably would eat 2/3 of it. Our dinner was $18. and some change, without drinks. Very reasonable. We will go back again! P.S. If you want a quieter experience (date night/no kids,) eat in the bar, it was great! My date said that way, we were also closer to our drinks ;) Updated! The BEST Green Chili Rellenos in the WORLD! I know that is a bold statement but I'm gonna go with it! Crispy and cheesy and just the right spice if you order it medium! Not soggy and tasteless. I moved back to Phoenix (for weather reasons) and I dream about this place and wish that they would Fed EX the Green Chili Rellenos!

I have gone to Corona's a few times since their opening a couple months ago...it started off decent. Good food at reasonable prices, nice decor and a good late night happy hour. But the last few times I have gone it down right stinks...service mainly and their house margaritas. We watched the bartender pour the whole concoction out of the service gun..IDK. and when we complained they said that we could order an extra shot if we like. I do believe there are amatuers running this place as the staff is really young and have no clue what customer service is. I don't think I'll be going back, because the last time they double charged my credit card and had to get the bank after them the fix it! Sorry Corona's....get your Sh*t together!!

i am an extremely picky eater when it comes to mexican food. southern california knows how to do it right and that is where i grew up. that being said, i am not sure if am a fan of coronas. to me, mexican food is not a plate of food covered completely with cheddar cheese and place in the oven to warm up. it seems like this type of "mexican" food is popular so it definitely has some worth. anyways....i ordered the tamales. they are shredded pork and can be covered with any sauce you want. i got the salsa verde which tasted like it came out of a can. nothing special. the rice and beans that i could find under all the cheese were alright. can't say if i'll ever be back, but if i do i'll try to order something else .

  • Lisa C.

I so wanted to like this place. The service and the atmosphere are fine, and that's all that was fine. The salsa was just okay, the chips were thin and had an odd texture and needed salt. I had a house margarita, which was very generic; nothing great. The food, at first bite, was alright. It could've been served a little hotter. By about the fourth or fifth bite of my dinner, I was tired of it. I had spicy chicken tacos, served soft, on corn tortillas. The flavors all melded together; there was nothing special about it. My husband ordered chicken enchiladas. He too thought his dinner fairly mediocre. Here's the kicker...after terrible indigestion and heartburn, my poor hubby was up a couple of times in the night getting sick. This is not normal behavior for him so, I have to attribute it to what he ate for dinner. There are far, far, better places in the Broomfield area to go for Mexican food.

Went here with my husband and 3 year old son. The food was pretty tasty. I had the Steak Tampiquena. It is a thin sliced sirloin steak topped with pico and melted cheese. It is served with tortillas and a side of lettuce, tomatoes and avocado slices. So good! We also ordered the Corona dipping platter. The guacamole is good, the cheese is average, the pico is stupid hot, and the green chili is way good. The pico is super chunky so the pieces of jalapeño were too large. It was good on my steak, but alone on chips it is too hot. The Green chili can be ordered mild, medium or hot; however they only have mild and hot so medium is a combo of the 2. Depending on who mixes it can still be pretty hot. I would recommend the mild with a small cup of the hot to mix in to taste unless you like hot food. Both versions were very flavorful, but the hot had my husband sweating. My husband ordered a smothered shredded beef chimichanga. He did not care for it, but I tasted it and it had good flavor. The meat was cooked down to nothing (not a lot of chewing required), so it may have been a texture thing there. My good friend went there the same day and ordered the Camarones al Mojo de Ajo (shrimp with Mushrooms and Garlic.) This was not good. The shrimp was over cooked, the garlic came out of a jar and still has a raw taste and the mushrooms were so rubbery they tasted canned. Very disappointing. The Chili Relleno we ordered ala carte was super! One thing I like about this place is that you can create your own combo platter. One last thing the table salsa was super good. It has a roasted flavor to it without being spicy my 3 year old was able to eat it which was nice because he loves to dip stuff.

Very solid little place in the northern Denver metro. My wife and I have eaten here a number of times and the food has always been tasty, and prices reasonable. I LOVE the rice, unlike anywhere else I've had it.

Went with my family and they were able to get a party of 6 in quickly for a Friday night. The service was prompt and efficient and the food ok. Even the green chili is hot, so beware! Everything was good until the next day when we all came down with the stomach bug! Could have been a fluke but most likely the restaurant. Food was good but worth getting sick?
