High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

It's pretty good, but it's also Applebee's. So don't expect more than that. They did recently put on those tabletop tablets though, which make it easy to pay then leave without waiting for the server!

My husband and I have lived near this Applebee's for over 5 years. We have eaten here a few times. Today's service has been typical of every time. I will outline today. Hostess was not out front. Waited about a minute. She had a pleasant greeting. We requested a booth she said none were available and then sat us in chairs and the 2 booths next to us were empty. The restaurant was only about 1/3 way full. Was told food orders had a long wait. Was brought out wrong order. Took a few minutes to get correct order. When correct order came out we expressed we had a side of fries. Waitress said she would get them and then ignored us the rest of our visit. We paid on the iPad at table. I ordered wings and they were cold and covered in dressing. The wing sauce was dripping off plate and they tasted like the were microwaved. Celery taste like rubber. Can't rate fries they never came to table. Overall a waste of $40.

Not from the area and disappointed to accept that the only place where we could get a meal was a franchise...Applebee's it is. I've been to Applebee's before and was neither impressed or unimpressed. But today...my oh my. I ordered some kind of chicken wrap. Simply put, the chicken was substituted with iceberg lettuce. My husband ordered some chicken bacon type mac'n'cheese meal. Let's just say, if he was a diabetic I'd be writing this review at an emergency room due to his sugar coma... Sweet but not in a cool way. Ordered an onion soup on the side. I'd rather visit my pantry for a Campbell's onion soup. I think the best review I can offer would be in quoting my 8 year old daughter "we definitely should have gone to Taco Bell". There you go. See my chicken wrap picture....

Came in with some friends late at night and got seated right away because there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Our waitress was nice and took our orders quickly despite the big group we brought in. When our food came out it was good and better than I expected. However my only gripe is for how long it took to actually get our food. I know we came in fairly late at night but with our group being one of the only people in the place it took way longer than it should have to receive our food. Other than that, our group had a good experience here. The waitress was also quick to refill our drinks multiple times and that was nice.

First and last time we go to this location or pretty much any Applebee's for that matter. We went in a little before the dinner crowd at 4pm and the place empty, super dirty and dark, and the service time was horrible. We were only one of 3 other people in the whole place. I've been to a few Applebee's and this is by far the worst. Not to mention we both got sick after eating here. Will not be back.

My 14 year old son and I visited this Applebee's at his request. I will never visit this location or any other again. We arrived around 2:30p on a Saturday afternoon. Three tables were seated, we were the fourth. It took 10 min for our waitress to greet us and take our drink order....remember, the place is empty. Another 10 min for me to get an ice tea and 15 for my sons shake, which by the way was so watered down he didn't drink a 1/4 of it. We ordered from the 2 for $25 menu.....my Mama always told me "you get what you pay for" and certainly this was the case. The steak was chewy and had tendons throughout. The chicken with shrimp was not cooked all the way through. (I was not feeling well the next day.) Our waitress was kind enough to get the manager involved. The ONLY positive thing to say about this restaurant is he was empathetic and said that they just changed vendors for the meat orders and that he would look into it. He comped the steak, which I said I would pay for. I still gave the waitress a 20% tip.......was not deserved, worst service. I could go on all day about her. Like I said, never again

The 2 for $20 menu offers a good selection of choices. The portions are a little smaller than I like but Good none the less. The waitress was friendly but the place was busy.

Ok, I know this is a chain, but I am looking at older reviews and think this place needs a dose of recent reality. I love coming to Applebee's when our group isn't sure what we want to eat. There is great variety and I love the selections on the healthy section... steak and shrimp -550 calories.. for sure!!! Our servies is ALWAYS amazing... I was commenting on this recently to a friend, that I was surprise how well this places always leaves me feeling good :) *Free Wi Fi :) - *Many different Food options *Local connection all over the walls *Friendly Service Yes, my friends, I am giving Applebees 5 stars!! Because for what they are attempting to accomplish.. in my eyes.. they do!!

This place is awesome. It's my new place to eat. My other Applebee's has gone down the tubes. So I went in last night and sat down and had the ribs and a Sam Adams Summer Ale. Madelene ( I think that was her name) was awesome. The food was great. I will make this place the place where I bring friend and family to. WTG you sold me on your kindness and great food.

Where to start... First off, I have been to Applebee's multiple times before finally compiling my review. After this time I decided that nothing is going to change so this is my final word on the place. My girlfriend and I came in on a Sunday night to eat and watch the football game. I ordered the cowboy burger and my girl ordered the bourbon and bleu burger, as well as an appetizer. The appetizer came, spinach and artichoke dip, and things were ok although I did notice that the chips were way over salted but it wasn't a huge deal. Then I realize that I can actually hear the kitchen over the Sunday night football game. It seriously sounded like a party was going on with loud shrieks coming from servers and cooks alike. I understand a little noise but nothing scares me more than a waitress counting down the days till she leaves. We finished our appetizer and waited... and waited... Finally our food came. Now my question is, who puts southwest sauce on a bourbon burger? My girl's burger was completely messed up and our waitress never showed her face again. Well, that is until we had given up waiting and just ate our messed up food. We were never offered refills on our drinks or even asked if we wanted one or how we were doing until we had our bill that she about shoved into my girl's hands. Overall the server was not attentive, and the restaurant was dead except for the apparent party going on in the kitchen, and the Manager acted as though nothing was going on. And this seems to be the consistent experience I have had here. So, reconsider if you are thinking of going here for a good dinner or lunch or really any experience because it will be awful.

Alright, I apologize. I can't seem to stop Yelping chains. This time was warranted, however. At first, my boss and I were nothing short of reluctant to do the Bee's, but nothing else struck our fancy, so we figured 'screw it', we'll give them a try. Good thing. We hit the joint at 15 past Noon, and were seated immediately. A charming young woman - who bore a striking resemblance to Tina Fey of SNL - was all over us in a good way - as in we never had to look around for her to refill a drink, as opposed to a bad way where, for example, she acted like a hammered co-ed at a party where I was the coolest person in the room. I digress. Great, tasty lunch specials. Very reasonable price. Definitely worth three stars. Plus one star for outstanding service.

I usually don't like benefiting a chain restaurant, but after playing Badminton for 4 hours, I was looking for something that would be open after 10pm and good for a large group of friends. I was greeted promptly, requested a table for 8 and the manager on duty which was the host had offered me a tall round table that would merely seat 6, just because it was right at the front. Server was really having a bad day, service was horrible; she was not friendly, dry sarcasm, and forgetting dishes. When reminded, she would say: "Oh yeah, I'd forgotten but do you still want it?" Food was ok, menu is very boring and 99% of the entire menu is deep fried.

Very disappointed. We ate here on a Friday night for dinner. The only positive was that we were seated immediately. I can now see why there is not a wait at this establishment. To start, our waiter sucked...royally. I ordered the chopped steak which is described in the menu as "tender." It was basically an over-cooked burger with some under-cooked onions and mushrooms on top. Oh, and the "vegetable medley?" It was a bunch of broccoli -cold broccoli at that. I could be wrong, but doesn't medley mean a combination of? The picture in their colorful menus shows carrots, brocolli, squash, cauliflower, etc. I just got some cold brocolli. Nice. The garlic mashed potatoes were the worst I've ever had! I couldn't even finish them, they had a bad aftertaste. I'm never going back to this particular Applebees. They also did away with their stir-fry which was one of my favorite dishes there. I will say the dessert "shots" they have now are fun--I ordered the chocolate mousse and it was pretty good. Not good enough to warrant my return, however.

it's applebees, what do you want? the only reason one would come here is because they're staying in one of the 3 hotels in the parking lot... sat at the bar for dinner...service was decent, nothing special. i will say that if you sit at the bar, don't sit at the end of the bar (where the servers all congregate while waiting for drinks for their orders...). sitting at the end, all i heard was the jerry springer like drama all the servers were experiencing. ex-husband drama. child protective services drama. boyfriennd drama...blah blah blah. kind of amusing, kind of draining. ill be back, only because i only stay at the hampton inn in the parking lot, and it's one of 2 choices within walking distance.

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
