I ordered a breakfast burrito through hungry buffs, and when it was delivered, I was sad to see that the bacon inside was not nearly cooked enough. Unfortunately, it was so undercooked that I decided it was probably best for my digestive health not to eat it. I was really disappointed, especially since I had to pay delivery fees, tips, and such to hungry buffs, making the inedible burrito a relatively expensive loss. So much for breakfast!

I ordered the chicken nachos, a carnitas burrito and a side of chips and guac. There was some sort of issue with the online takeout ordering system that prevented me from leaving a tip, and the guy definitely deserved it - there was only one person working and everything was hot, fresh and with very minimal wait time. I mixed up the combinations of rice and beans for both entrees - and they were all great. You can tell that thought, care and quality ingredients went into this meal. They follow the familiar model for wrapped burritos that we're all used to by now, and they do it properly. I would say if not in terms of sheer menu options, they give the big guys a run for their money in terms of quality, portions and convenience - I really don't need 9 salsa options - they have hot and mild and they're both great. They have multiple tortilla options and the chicken and pork alike were well marinated and tender, the other ingredients were properly proportioned and obviously fresh. A couple suggestions should they happen to read this: offer avocado in a more generous portion as a paid side instead of a free, tiny add-on. Free avocado toppings look great on paper but we all understand that they're not cheap and will pay accordingly. Secondly, try a different takeout box for your nachos. These are very good nachos(I forgot to praise the tortilla chips earlier, they're awesome), and stuffing them in a high walled container makes them difficult to eat. Something flatter with a domed lid would probably not use significantly more materials or be much more expensive. This place is fantastic, they're open late and they are a welcome addition to our culinary environment. Very highly recommended.

(UPDATE, 02/28/2015: My review below still stands. Just wanted to add that the breakfast burritos here are ridiculously, inordinately good. Freshly made right before you with excellent ingredients. So tasty! And a fantastic deal. And the young men who work behind the counter (some of whom are also owners) are genuinely nice, friendly people. Love, love, love supporting local businesses like this.) This place just has us grinning. It's not authentic Mexican, despite the name, but it is very tasty for what it is. It's similar in concept to a Chipotle, only better. And, on Tuesday evenings from 8-11pm, tacos are $1 each. For the good quality, that price seems almost impossible. Don't know why every beer guzzling undergrad isn't buying about 20 of them to go. (And the regular prices on all the food options are very reasonable.) MA is located in a food court on the Hill. I think that fact turns off some people, but don't let it. The area is light and bright and a pleasant place to eat a quick meal. And MA is a small business, not a big chain. Need to support places like this! I knew almost immediately that we were going to like this place. How? The guy behind the counter (Chance, a co-owner) told us that we had a choice of taco shells: flour, hard corn, or soft corn. Okay, we chose soft corn, expecting regular ol' floppy corn tortillas. But, wait, no! He took three corn tortillas, fried them freshly until they were nicely pliable, drained them well, and then proceeded to stuff them with their innards. How many places pay such good attention to detail? We asked for three different meat fillings for the three tacos: ground beef, chicken, and carnitas. The carnitas weren't really carnitas, simply regular pork. But that pork was lovely and tender, and had just been prepared in the back by Chance himself. To our tacos (at no extra cost) we added cheese, onion, cilantro, salsa (from amongst a decent salsa selection, with both red and green variations), and freshly sliced avocado. Yum. Uh-huh. That's right. Tasty tacos. We plan to return many more times, and try all the different items on the menu. Whatever we choose, we know it's going to be good. Oh, and for all of you locals who on occasion don't feel like leaving your dorms/apartments, MA will deliver their tasty vittles right to your front door. Ahhhhh........

Food was alright. Their menu lists food they would not give us. Customer service is quite terrible and they would not give us what we ordered. Do not order food from here, you don't know what you're going to get.

Never order delivery from Mami's. Ever. I want to like Mami's so much. When they're good, they're good. They're affordable. They're friendly. Alas, their delivery is terrible. They close sometimes outside their posted hours, which sucks if you're ordering their food through a third party. I've gotten food forty minutes late, I've gotten food cold, I've gotten food not at all. This was a third strike for me (see my previous review of them); I've probably had it with Mami's Authentic. Unless they can run their business like their competition, like everyone else who delivers on time and keeps their food warm, they shouldn't be offering delivery through any service. Maybe they're always good in person, but never, ever, ever order from them for delivery.

I'd benchmark Mami against a place like Chipotle's. I'm not sure about the source of their ingredients (organic or not) but the overall quality of the food is a level above Illegal Pete's or Chipotle in my eyes. I had a breakfast burrito and likes how the whole thing was put together for me right in front of my eyes. We were a group of 4 and everyone liked their food a lot. They seating area is not too appealing. You might just take your food home first and then get your fix. The staff was also very helpful and friendly. They clearly cared about us being there.

Stopped in for quick bite and everything was good except for the black curly hair in the enchiladas I think if you're in the food business you need to wear a hairnet if your hair is long. This happened 7-12-15 @ 6pm

Ordered a veggie burrito bowl and a burrito through Hungry Buffs. Firstly, the order took over 1 hour to arrive. And after it came, they had forgotten to add the extra tortilla with my bowl. THE FOOD WAS STONE COLD. The tortilla on the burrito was dry and like paper. The avocados in my bowl were raw! Worst. Mexican Food. Ever. No, I take that back. Worst food ever. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.

For cheap delivery Americanized Mexican, this place is solid. The meat isn't farm-to-table, they don't use top-quality organic produce, and you won't be blown away by the authentic Mexican experience. But the service is fast and reliable and the food is good for what it is.

queso is dank, quesadillas are REALLY good, burritos are pretty bad, the cheese they use for those is really cheap. not a fan of cheap ingredients. Everything else is great

Great place with fair prices. Quick, friendly, and DELICIOUS! Not to mention they deliver. Would prefer mamis over chipotle and qdoba any day!

Ordered their food through HungryBuffs, unfortunately hungrybuffs got it wrong. I called the store and even though it was past closing the owner himself ended up bringing me my food. It's excellent service, and their great food that makes this place the best mexican in boulder

Ordered through hungry buffs last night I got chicken enchiladas, they were cold (even though the offer got to me in under 30 minutes)there wasn't enough sauce and not much flavor. Unfortunately I woke up this morning with severe stomach cramps and bathroom issues that haven't stopped and it's almost 8 o clock. I wouldn't recommend eating here because something unclean is obviously going on. Or maybe they gave be someone else's order from earlier in the day. All I know it's that my stomach is in knots.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
