I went here yesterday to try out the gluten free options since I'm new to Boulder and want to make an educated decision on which bakery has the best to offer. By the looks of it, they had plenty of yummy looking treats (slightly expensive, though -- 3.99 for a slice of blondie bar). I was asking the girl behind the counter some questions and she was very kind, but ten the phone rang and the other girl working said she didn't know how to answer the phone yet (maybe she was new, but I feel like it's pretty self explanatory). So the girl who can't answer phones comes over to help me and she was completely unhelpful. I was trying to ask her what was best and she said, "it's hard to say, they're all different." Fair. So I asked her what was her favorite and she just shrugged and said, "I'm not sure" and started to seem like she was getting impatient with me. Ok, fine, I should just make a decision so I asked if I could sample something and she said no. I then asked if I buy something and I don't like it, what happens and she said, "oh well" so I just blankly stared at her and she said,"if you can't decide, could you step aside so other people can order?" Yep! So I left. TL:DR - they probably have good food but I wouldn't know because their customer service was appalling.

On Sunday I stopped by Lucky's Bakehouse to pick up a dozen cookies to take to a party. I was immediately given a lecture by the salesperson about how they only sell 6 cookies at a time. The thing is, she went on and on about it and I began to get very angry. It felt like I was being reprimanded for trying to buy some cookies. I asked if she was going to sell them to me, and even though she agreed, she continued to lecture me. I had such a bad feeling about the exchange that this afternoon I went in to talk to the manager, and I got WORSE treatment. Admittedly, I eventually called her a cookie Nazi, but I started out simply trying to explain to her how the exchange had felt to me. It didn't feel good to feel reprimanded and controlled for the simple act of trying to buy cookies. There is no sign saying there's a limit on products, which is a ridiculous idea in the first place. I'm sorry, I thought this was a store. Usually that means you want to sell your goods. If you run out, people will choose something else, or hey, you could bake some more. This IS a bakery, yes? The manager didn't have the grace to apologize. She kept saying she'd overheard the exchange and it was fine. Well it was NOT fine with me. They obviously care nothing about customer service. This has made me very sad because I have been shopping at Lucky's (or its previous incarnations) for nearly 30 years. I wanted this Bakehouse to be a success. Now all I want is for them to learn some manners or, better yet, go out of business. They have no right to treat people like this. Very sad indeed.

I went in to to this place to select a sweet concoction for my husband who has a serious sweet tooth. I will say that it is certainly "eye candy" to see the layout of sweet confections that all look yummy (and yes, "spendy"). As commented by another reviewer, there are a lot of gluten-free items which aren't my thing, so I pass them all over. The reason for only 2 stars is the FLIES. The doors were open and they were buzzing everywhere; around customers eating, at the cash register, and worst of all...all over the food on display for sale. YUCK! There was even an employee standing by the cash register with a fly swatter in her hand. She said, "Oh, we have a fly problem. They like the sugar and the doors are open." Really? You might want to close the doors. I left. Then I remembered I had the exact same experience when they first opened and I went in to see what they had. Apparently they aren't "concerned"... but I'm surprised someone hasn't called the health department.

Love this bakery!! Everything I tried has been top-notch. From the croissants to the cookies, they've all been moist & delicious! Along with the regular baked goods, they're always trying innovative ideas. Keep up the great baking!!

Such a nice treat in Boulder. Finally a good creative bakery. So many items to choose from and so many great combinations of savory and sweet! The presentation is like a pastry shop in San Francisco,New York or Italy. No more cardboard scones and dry muffins! Great for a Sunday morning stop.

Lucky's Bakehouse is charming and the lemon squares are pretty good. This having been said, 90% of the time, the person at the register acts as though she is facing a very complex equation that can only be solved by delivering expression-less stares to the customer.

Just went to Lucky's Bakehouse and Creamery for the first time and was very impressed. Great pastries--both sweet and savory. Highly recommended!

I am addicted to Lucky's Bakehouse and Creamery. The croissants, the pecan molasses biscuits, the cakes, and so much more. Everything is fresh. The flavors are delicious. What they produce is creative and not available anywhere else in Boulder. And they have wonderful, friendly customer service. Every time I've been in, I have not had to wait long and have been greeted with a friendly smile and nothing but kindness. Keep it up Lucky's!

=== RATING/REVIEW BASED ON FOOD === Worst bakery ever! Nothing I have gotten here has been good. Got a brownie and it was hard, almost fudge like. No chewy, soft goodness to be found :(. Tried a few of the other baked goods and they all had a strange text

In 2012 I spent 2 weeks on a cycling trip in France where one of the many benefits is the opportunity to eat pain au chocolat every morning for breakfast. Since that trip, I have searched in Boulder for a chocolate croissant that compares to one I would find in France. Here it is! This pastry is flaky and slightly crunchy on the outside, soft and chocolatey on the inside. Ah - sweet memories!

Just only open a week or so, but quite good stuff so far, maple glazed donut, pastry-tart quiche w/ goat cheese, cheddar bacon biscuits - definitely fancier than Breadworks! All their sweets look so tempting, so I'll have to refrain from stopping in more than once a week. What I'm looking forward to trying next - icebox cake. Same friendly Lucky's staff!

So far, so good. I really liked their baked goods. I need further evidence to support my proof.

How do you resist the temptation of stopping at Lucky's Bakehouse on trips up and down north Broadway? The answer, I can't. Amazing pastries and savories, a super-friendly staff and a bright, sunny interior where you can view 'the good's being created. A huge addition to Boulder and especially those of us up north. ----- As for one other review posted here... not sure I where someone gets off referring to an employee as a 'lackey,' especially when their other reviews of bakeries in town are equally condescending.

As Ashely B said, these people know what they are doing! We grabbed an assortment to try, and loved everything. The citrus curd tartlet was traditionally made, with a perfect pate sucree crust and candied orange peel. I thought the caramel brownie was one of the best I've ever eaten. I wish the sticky buns had pecans inside them as well as on top, but the dough was flakey and the caramel had good flavor. The chocolate cake had an expresso overtone to it that my husband found over-powering, but which I enjoyed. If you don't like coffee, skip the chocolate cake. For my birthday (Christmas eve) my parents bought a small "Snowed In" cake. The white almond cake was excellent, as was the toasted meringue coating. I would have preferred a more flavorful buttercream to the tasteless pastry cream I think. This is the first year I haven't made my own cake: I'm extremely picky about my pastries and honestly think I make a better cake than anywhere you can buy one. Lucky's Bakehouse and Creamery may be the exception, and I look forward to trying more of their delicious pastries.

This place is amazing. I am so glad it finally opened! Come here for freshly baked small batch goodies and TERRIFIC made-in-house ice cream. I have tried so many of their baked treats that I can honestly recommend them all! Come in each day to see the revolving bakery menu and chat with the lovely ladies who work there!

Charming, charming, charming. Crazy out-of-this-world pastries. Coffee is good and if you bring in your own container, only a buck. Free wifi. And ICE CREAM. The bakery is out in plain sight and, being a foodie, it calms me down to no end watching professionals at work. No males visible in the bakery. Which might explain the quiet efficiency and calm. One of those places that make me long for my digestion in my teens. As much as I want to drop $50 and just make a morning of it, I would be paying for it for a week. It's not that I'm picky, I just have digestion issues.

Whenever I go to a friend's for dinner, I stop by and pick up some delightful dessert. I ordered a custom cake for my girlfriend's baby shower and it was both beautiful and delicious. Their cakes, pies, ice creams are all handmade and fabulous!

I love this place and their variety of gluten-free treats! As a celiac, good bakeries can be hard to find. I've never gotten sick here, and I love the place! You'll rarely see the same thing twice on their gluten-free menu, so stock up when you see something you need.

We are not North Boulder people, so we need a good reason to leave our usual Boulder hangouts to go. A friend said that she loves something that is sold at Lucky's Bakehouse, so we thought it would be a good idea to go and check it out and see if we could find some nice breakfast pastries. When we walked in we were greeted right away, but we were needing some time to figure out what to get. Personally, the watermark for a great bakery for me is a croissant, pain au chocolat or any kind of laminated dough. The prices of the croissants were steep, $3.79 for a chocolate croissant?!?!? Not that I think a pastry that takes hours of preparation and a skilled hand should be cheap, but if I can buy one in Paris for €1.50, or a 4 pack of proof and bakes croissants from Trader Joe's for $3.99, it better be an amazing croissant. Sadly, this croissant was not amazing, and in a blind taste test, I bet I would prefer the aforementioned options, or even a warmed croissant from Starbucks Boulange. The dough was lacking that subtle yeasty taste, and you could tell it wasn't properly handled because the lamination came apart. The egg wash on top was also a but heavy, it added a thick crunchy layer on top. The only decent part was the chocolate inside. Beyond that, the prices just seem really high. $1.99 for 1 french macaron? The other items all ring in about the $4 price range, maybe I am just too cheap to eat in North Boulder, or maybe I expect something to be amazing when it is at a high-end price point.

My husband bought home a few doughnuts from here today and I have to say they were pretty darn good! We were then riding or bikes in the afternoon and rode past so we stopped in for a kombucha which is on tap. It's a small bakery filled with lots of yummy looking treats and the smell is like heaven. The kombucha was good and they also had a small gelato bar too.

The bake house makes great ice-cream and has lots of good choices for pastries, but sometimes the food can be a little dry. Great vibe

Very cute little bakery! This was in the same plaza as Lucky's Market and Lucky's Cafe. Came in for breakfast, wouldn't recommend for traditional breakfast since they're mostly baked goods. I tried the coffee cake, can't remember the exact kind, but it may be the only kind of coffee cake there. There are so many choices, so there has to be at least one thing you will like. There are even loads of gluten-free options! The price is a bit higher than I'd like, but it is what it is.

What can I say, we love this place! It's so much fun to stop by on Sunday and grab a treat. They have delicious and very inventive cupcakes. The atmosphere is adorable and everyone is very friendly.

Hands down my favorite bakery in Boulder! They're creativity, selection and quality is unmatched. I am constantly impressed with everything I order, especially the croissants (!), ice creams (malt shoppe!), key lime pie, chocolate chunk cookie (brown butter!), and buttery, fruity galettes. In fact, the sheer amount of delicious, rich butter they use is fabulous and shocking. The bakers and counter staff are always helpful and smiley, and I love the comfortable, sunny atmosphere. Apart from the array of magical flavors, the beauty and painstaking effort that goes into the cakes, tarts, pies, pastries and the like is inspiring. There is a lot of passion behind the scenes and its apparent. A Boulder mainstay, for years to come.

Just walking in was a treat. What a gorgeous spot. I travel all over the country and eat out all the time so it was extra special to find a place that both my kids and I loved so much. My daughter wants to be a chef so the owner Jennifer gave her a tour! My kids had the best pumpkin pie ever and I tried the quiche both with a crust to die for. Since we got the red carpet tour I recommend their large assortment of gluten free, paleo, vegan offerings for alternative tastes. Thanks to the friendly staff for making our stop on the road to grandma's house so welcoming.

This place is all sweets, so if you are looking for a baguette look else where. I love their donuts and they are about half the price as Dizzy's. You'll find me here the morning after an argument with my wife, with flowers that bought from Luckys Market. It always seems to get me out of the "dog house." Everything I have had has been scrumptious, but I wish they would have more savory options as opposed to sweet.

Wowza!!! My sister in law ordered a cake from here for my niece's graduation. It was HUGE!!! Four layers and it ALMOST looked too pretty to eat. It was an almond flour cake with cinnimon between the layers and espresso buttercream frosting with chocolate shavings. The cake was a little dry, but I think cake is just a vehicle for delivering frosting into my belly, so who cares?! The frosting delivered!!! My sister in law said the ordering experience was good and the cake was ready on time, packaged securely for the ride home.

Lucky's has the best lemon poppy cupcake. Ever. That's pretty much the main thing I remember about this place. The awesome lemon poppy cupcake. The HUGE lemon poppy cupcake. And at only $2.99!? An amazing price for such a cupcake. I didn't even know that such cupcakes even existed! But, oh boy, they do. Of course, Lucky's has more than cupcakes. You can pick a beautiful cupcake (big or small), a mouth-watering slice of cake (or an entire cake), muffins, cookies, cheddar bacon biscuits (say what!?), ice cream, donuts, etc. They don't have bread, which is kind odd, but oh well. Everything looks amazing and they're reasonably priced, considering the fact that they bake everything from sratch and use local, organic ingredients. And yes, you can find vegan and gluten-free options here. I drooled over nearly everything. The bakehouse itself is also quite charming, and everyone seemed happy to be there. I guess you could say they were feeling pretty darn lucky. I know I felt that way when I ate that marvelous cupcake...

We went into Lucky's Bakehouse to pick up a birthday cake. We walked in and were impressed with the display of baked goods. The help there wasn't very helpful and looked like they would rather be somewhere else. We asked about the different cakes and decided to purchase the Amelia cake. It looked very nice and paid $ 30.00 for it which we thought expensive for a 6" round cake. This was the driest cake I ever had. It crumbled when it was cut into. The frosting was hard. I wonder how long it had been sitting there before we bought it? I was expecting a cake that would at least be fresh and taste good for $ 30.00. With my previous experience in a purchase of a Lucky's Market desert which I returned before I was skeptical about buying another desert there. I won't be buying anymore desert's at Lucky's.

Over time, some aspects of the Bakehouse have changed. Slowly the closing time has gotten earlier and earlier. Not for lack of late customers, either, really. The customer service can be friendly, efficient, and even generous at times. Other times when employees are distracted by their friends who are sitting at the tables, not so much. Depending on who is working, the portion size of the granola with yogurt varies immensely. By the way, their homemade granola is delicious. I often wonder who manages this place, & if they know what the employees do when they aren't there.

If you are gluten free, this is as close to heaven as you are gonna get. Seriously. Just walk in the door and you will lose track of what you thought you wanted. They have so much more! Can't get enough of this place!

We ordered 2 sheet cakes, chocolate and poppyseed, and received 2 very tasty well-decorated treats--much better than expected. The decorations were tasteful and the frosting was out of this world. We also ordered a dozen gluten free raspberry bars which were also very good. Strongly recommend this Bakehouse for any party or bakery goods!

Lucky's Bakehouse is a quant little shop tucked into Boulder. There's a great selection of pastries and breads to choose from. Some of the sweets sold don't quite live up to expectations--(ahem almond croissant) but that can be forgiven by the other obvious staples sold at Lucky's, which happen to be quite good. Definitely check out the chocolate chunk cookie and the chocolate croissant--both are delicious. The breads are okay, nothing really special, but I wouldn't say they were bad. After visiting Lucky's for breakfast almost every day during my stay in Colorado, I have to say that I have grown really fond of it. Lucky's is a great bakery to visit in Boulder.

This place has awesome baked goods but every time I go in the people working are so rude and unfriendly. It's worth going in for the treats but I just don't understand being so rude to someone who is being very friendly and who tipped you. When they are laughing and joking together and then scowl and snap at the customers there is a problem. I understand sometimes people have a bad day but this is how they act every time. Go to dizzys donuts instead and get good donuts from friendly people.

Without self control this place could ruin your life. Seriously. Not a ton of ice cream flavors, but the few they have are amazing. I also ate one of the top five cookies of my life here.

The visual presentation is AWESOME! There is definitely a large selection of full gluten and gluten free treats here. We love the neighborhood location and feel. After a while it is the place where "everybody knows your name" that is nice too. Not for the frugal budget, but if you want tasty treats this is the place.

We were in town and decided to get a birthday cake from Lucky. Walked in and got no greeting or help until about 5 mins someone asked how they can help and we ordered, paid and left. I wish we would have tired a piece. They claim "everything is baked from scratch everyday". I assumed that the cake was baked that day, but it was so dry had to be 2-3 days old. Took two glasses of milk to wash down one piece. The frosting is hard and heavy, which explained why the box felt like a bowling ball. Cake was super sweet and rich. Too sweet for me. I recommend trying a piece before buying a whole cake.

Sweet and wonderful sweet shop. Not a full bakery as they don't bake breads. That would be great! As for GF options - almost 1/2 of what they make is GF and tasty. They have some wonderful designs and savory tastes. In our short time here in North Boulder we've been there twice already! They don't have espresso however, so I had to visit two different shops. Actually I had to visit four ... but that is too long of a story. Go - you'll be very pleasantly surprised.

  • Leanne G.

WOW... this is more than a coffee shop - and different than your regular run of the mill bakery! The sweets contained behind the glass will make you feel like a kid again! The cakes and pastries have such creativity infused that its surprising! Everything was colorful, or had creative decorations on top making it all seem irresistible. I do have to say that the coffee station was not clean and did look like elephants were serving themselves, which is my pet peve at a coffee shop... but the taste of the dark chocolate, orange macaroon did compensate for that disappointment quite well!

Very pleased to add that Lucky's Bakehouse has some seriously tasty and interesting GF cakes. Order 48 hours in advance. I had a slice for a friend's birthday and was super impressed!

So they don't have bread, who cares. Lucky's bake house is a super welcome addition for sweet treats and decadent baked goods in Boulder. Favorites for our house include house made old fashioned donuts, s'mores cake, chocolate caramel torte or any cupcake of the day. They have a great assortment of gluten-free items and also usually have a few vegan items on hand too. Prices are equivalent with other artisan bakeries around town (Spruce, Whole Foods, Breadworks), but shoppers who think just because they share the name with Lucky's market that prices will be the same as cakes at Safeway will be surprised. Don't let it deter you though- this is one spot where the adage "you get what you pay for" is 100% true.

I ordered a birthday cake for my husband from Lucky's, because he'd seen one in the case he thought was awesome. I called and told them what I wanted, and they said it would not be a problem. When I went to pick up the cake, it was not the correct cake. I told them that it was nothing like the cake I ordered, and to their credit, they said they'd fix it if I came back in four hours. I did . . . and they had another wrong cake. I took it because I needed a cake, but I was really disappointed, especially as the small 6 inch cake cost $33. More than disappointing, all of their baked goods are in the open air, uncovered. They keep the doors open, and flies sit all over the cookies and muffins. I swatted one away from my cake and the woman at the counter said, "Sorry about that, we've got a real fly problem." Call me nuts, but I think they should cover up the food so that flies and other pests can't just sit on stuff that people are going to eat.

What a difference a year makes. On our way to Longmont we stopped by here because my Mom had just had a ginger/molasses cookie from here and loved it. We came in to see if they had any, (they were out), but we thought maybe we'd get something. We walked in, were the only people in the store, and neither employee ever said hello, how are you, do you need help, etc. Instead, the one cashier simply followed us from the other side of the counter, watching us constantly, but never spoke to us, which was super super creepy, and rude. Finally she decided to speak and said, "after 6:00 all the baked goods are half off", and she kindly said she'd give us half off even though it was 5:50. She was standing in front of a counter of: brownies, cookies, croissants, scones, and cupcakes. She gestured toward all of them as she spoke about the discount. Due to her spoken discount, we ordered: 2 savory scones, 1 brownie, 1 cupcake. She then boxed up 2 brownies for some bizarre reason, and rung us up. She told us our total was $15, and I questioned the total. I pointed out she gave us a brownie we didn't order and her solution was, "well I guess I can take it back". This is after she wrapped the sticky surface in clingy paper so it was very gross and unappetizing looking. We told her we'd keep it because she clearly didn't actually mean what she said. I looked at the receipt and realized that she only took off half the cost of the scones. This means that her term "baked goods" applied to not the cupcake, or the brownie. Maybe I've lost my mind, but aren't those....baked....goods? Who knows, maybe they sou-vis their brownies and braise their cupcakes at Lucky's. We paid, and then realized she had just plunked the cupcake on the counter, on its own, with no wrapping or box, after we told her it was to-go. She then said "oh...i guess i can give you a box". Gee, thanks so much for doing the bare minimum. The brownies (chocolate/salted caramel) which had been great, still had a good texture but had a very weird after taste and no caramel flavor whatsoever, let alone salted caramel. To top it off, they put salt on the caramel, which is a cardinal sin in my mind, (salted caramel is not the same as salt and caramel). The cupcake, which was "s'mores" was actually a dry, tasteless chocolate cupcake with a tasteless bruleed marshmallow on top of a completely lackluster chocolate frosting. Just because it contains the ingredients of a s'more doesn't mean it will taste anything like a s'more. That's like some restaurant serving a potato and an olive and calling it "deconstructed dirty martini". The savory scones were the only sort of good things, but my "apple gruyere" scone had precisely 1 minuscule cube of apple in it. The prices, the lackluster flavors, and the incredibly horrible service will make sure I never return. Bad luck, Lucky's.

BEST ICE CREAM EVER. Have you ever had real mint ice cream? Me either until I came here. They also have an awesome Thai curry gelato that tasted exactly like Thai curry, if you're into that sort of thing.

4 stars for the delicious ice cream 1 star for the awful salt caramel tart thing I had to return it was so bad 1 star for calling yourself a bakehouse and not baking bread 0 stars for the girl who turned me away at 7:59 a minute before they "close". Not good etiquette for a newly opened business. Now that I've been here a few times, I stick to the Ice cream and make sure I show up at least 5 minutes before closing time.

Today was my first and last visit. I decided to treat myself to a Snickerdoodle, even tho gluten free is not my thing. One bite of so-so taste and then I encountered a 6" blonde hair holding the next two chunks together. The nice lady cheerfully refunded my money and offered another cookie on the house. I wasn't hungry. Do they know about hair nets? And then there are the flies. I have been a huge and loyal fan of Lucky's Market, but it seems things are changing.

We just moved to Boulder and Lucky's happens to be nearby- we can't get enough! We brought home a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving that was the BEST we have ever tasted. Also, we need a Red Velvet cupcake fix most days. We have probably had close to 100 velvet cupcakes from different bakeries around the country and Lucky's is by far the best! LOVE Lucky's!

  • Rachel H.

Let me begin by saying that the sticky buns are amazing, which is why I gave them a star. Now I'll tell you why they didn't get the other four: 1. If you want to order a cake, you'd better do it well in advance. Their website says they need 48 hours advance notice, and yet when I called 72 hours in advance, I was informed that they were 'booked'. It's flour. Its' butter. It's cake. Can't you just bake one more? Seriously?! Why state a 48 hour ordering policy if that's not enough advance notice? I would have called two weeks in advance had I known the website was going to mislead me. This leads me to reason #2: The man on the phone was very rude and condescending when we spoke. Listen buddy, you're a lackey in a North Boulder bakery...not a celebrity pastry chef. Get over yourself. 3. Their coffee is wretched. Not good. If you want great coffee, run across the parking lot to Logans. 4. They use almond flavoring in everything. If you love almond flavoring and can't get enough, then by all means RUN to this place, you'll love it. If you're like me and like it sparingly, this may not be the bakery for you. Sorry to say, Lucky's, you had me until today. I was thrilled at having you close and I was willing to overlook your flaws and support something in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, your customer service has left me feeling like I don't want to support you anymore. I'm really quite disappointed...and again, would it have been so hard to bake one more cake to make a customer happy? Would it have been so hard for your employee to treat me politely? I would have given you a glowing review if only you could have been a tiny bit accommodating.

Living a few hundred feet away, I was probably more excited than most when Lucky's opened. I wanted to like it so badly that I've probably been more than a dozen times and sampled a good selection of both the baked goods and the ice cream. First of all, I let them off the hook for not really being a bakery. They're more of a pastry shop so don't expect bread. If you were hoping for something to finally replace Udi's and Breadworks and produce good bread products for Boulder, the Bakehouse isn't going to be your savior. Let's start with the good. The ice cream is pretty good. I suspect this will be a big hit this summer so hopefully they'll work out the servings because it's probably the only ice cream place in the world that gives you much less than the size of the cup you choose. The Justin's Peanut Butter is a definite highlight here. Regarding the baked goods, it's important to note that their output is very limited and there is a disproportionately high amount of gluten-free items. If you hate gluten, this is probably good news but if you have no problem with it them you really may find those items to just taste off-the-mark. The cookies and cakes are probably the highlight in general and I find that the more breading an item has the worse it is. Some of the stuff they make every day, like the Monkey Bread, is spongy and weird but someone must keep ordering it so your mileage may vary. The donut-like things are too dry tasting to be a donut and not light and flakey enough to really be anything else. The cupcakes are heavy, dense and strangely inconsistent. All in all, I can't really say I've ever had anything that I would order again. Operationally, the Bakehouse doesn't run quite like the Market or Cafe. It's common to see items that aren't labeled and you seem to get people at the register a lot that are somewhat baffled by the process of exchanging money for goods. This will probably be corrected over time...but on Boulder time. The Bakehouse has a lot of potential and I haven't given up on them but it still registers as a disappointment when compared to the other Lucky's shops.

What a disappointment. A so called bakehouse that does not have any bread and only a very small selection of sweets. And yes, all they have are sweets, which to me makes it a patisserie, not a bakehouse. A bakehouse has bread too. When I heard that Lucky's will open a bakehouse/bakery I was so excited. Now I still have to go to Whole Foods to buy decent bread as they are the only place in town that offers it. The sweets that I had were okay, nothing great. I am used to a variety of sweets, from Europe, New York, etc. The ones here are just alright. Go to Lucky's market, but don't bother with the "bakehouse".

As a long term GF'er and new to Boulder, I am on the hunt for all things GF and yummy. Lucky's did not disappoint! Let's start with the Lemon, Ricotta cake, WOW. Light, moist with great flavor. Sadly, I cannot inhale the super rich desserts of my past. The s'more slice was just that, RICH. My 11yo loved it. And lastly, the chocolate chip cookie. DIVINE! The only reason I took off a star is because in the case and on the counter to right the GF foods are right next to product with gluten. The case is also rather small so it's hard to make out what's what. The kitchen is open and I'm curious as to how they don't cross contaminate. With that said, I didn't have a reaction. I'm excited to return and hope I continue to experience positive customer service.

Who doesn't love a bakery!?!? Especially one owned by the beloved locals' fave, Lucky's Market. There isn't much savory to choose from on the menu- everything is on the sweet side, and servings are borderline stingy. I think they have some kinks to work out but will soon be a 4 star establishment!
