Service was good. Friendly and helpful. Coffee was alright. Doughnuts were pretty tasty as well. Maybe not the best I've ever had but I will definitely be back.

Good service but only "fair" donuts, Lamar's is fortunate to have neither Dunkin' Donuts nor Krispy Kreme in the vicinity. I don't feel that the donuts are of good or better quality, but they were a mix of fried ones (like KK) and cake ones (like DD) with assorted sugary toppings. I did enjoy my peanut donut and the client liked the ones that they had. I got a dozen donuts to bring to my client's office and was surprised to see that there were only eleven in the box. I had told the girl to mix them up, but I guess the "invisible" one was somehow included. :-( Is $8.99 for a dozen expensive? I think that's more than I usually pay for the same from the DD near my home in Charlotte NC. Would I get donuts from Lamar's again? Yes, but only until KK or DD opens a store in the area.

Agree with other reviewers here that the donuts were a little dry, but I didn't have a problem like that. Go there early for the best selection as they are dry out of donuts (no pun intended) towards late afternoon. They have coffee here, but I haven't tried it. I go here because they supported the troops at Buckley for their July 4th festival one year. Dounts are sold individually or by the dozen.

Terrible, crappy donuts. Don't go to this location. I wonder if the other locations are better - I might have to find out!

I had heard that the donuts here at LaMar's are fantastic, out of this world, a true Denver donut experience. With all that hype, when I spotted this while driving with my parents, I convinced them to stop here for a mid-morning snack (around 10 AM.) What a disappointment! To summarize: the donuts were dry, not a big selection, and the coffee was mediocre. The red velvet donuts are only offered on Sundays, which is a big disappointment for out of town guests who love red velvet (my Mom). The service was friendly and prompt, but I expected more after the hype of "LaMar's in Denver." I definitely would not make a special trip for these donuts. If I visited involuntarily with friends, I would get the Chocolate Glazed donut (what my Mom ordered) because it was the least dry out of the 3 donuts we ordered (chocolate glazed, Bavarian creme, and chocolate coconut).

I really tried to like this place. I gave it three separate trips and each time a disappointment. :(. The donuts are dry and flavorless for the price. I really hope this is not the best donut Denver has to offer. :(.

Don't need a long review for this location. The donuts are Yummy, Yummy, Yummy--from the regular ones to the specialty ones! You can tell as soon as you give them a big bite that they are freshly made. I usually came in around 6-630AM and was able to order two dozen donuts without any problem. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Sign up for their rewards card and as soon as you register you can get a free donut and coffee. Plenty of parking and great location.

My husband and I love the Bismarks at Lamars. The raspberry, strawberry, Bavarian cream and lemon ones are our favorites. Lamars also offers a wonderful selection of eclairs and donuts. Everything tastes homemade and is an indulgent treat, I have never had a better pastry or donut than those from Lamars. Highly recommended....

Easily the best donuts in Denver. My favorite guilty pleasure. Love the mom and pop feel and how they stick to the basics. Bavarian cream bizmark is sent from Heaven.

The outside isn't much to look at but inside it looks like your normal coffee/doughnut shop. Very clean inside and the place had more people than I expected at 9am on a Friday morning. The lady behind the counter offered us a free glazed doughnut, which I accepted of course and it was still warm and delicious. She seemed a bit impatient with us as we were looking over the many options they have but we got through checking out quickly. Overall some pretty tasty doughnuts!

LaMar's is definitely one of the better places to get donuts in Colorado. They're definitely superior to grocery store quality donuts and you don't have to wait in line for an hour to order (I'm talking about you, VooDoo). Now, are they gourmet donuts? No. Are they priced like gourmet donuts? No. Are they ridiculous concoctions like VooDoo? No. LaMar's simply offers good ol'fashioned donuts done right. Service was friendly and there was absolutely no line when we arrived. It's a little out of the way for us, but we'll be back LaMar's!

This is the best place to get donuts, especially for a large group. The more you buy, the more you save with their discounts. I've been to this location several times over the years and have never had a bad experience! Their donuts and coffee are very delicious and always fresh!

I like their customer service but their prices for a donut are a little steep for me with limited drink options. They have great flavors of donuts and were incredibly patient with my kiddo. They offer a free donut on National Donut Day which is really awesome. I hope they donate their donuts at the end of each day or sell them at half price the next morning because it is such a waste if not!

Went here because Lamar's has my favorite donuts. We decided to get a dozen donuts but wanted raised glazed for seven of them. They only had two raised glazed so we asked how long the wait would be for them to be made and they told us 10 minutes so we decided to wait. After 25 minutes of waiting and them bringing out tons of different donuts that had holes in them basically everything besides raised glazed we just decided to get seven other ones and leave. They kept asking us which kind of donuts we were waiting for and over and over we kept telling them raised glazed. The customer service was pretty bad. The only reason they got three stars is because I love their donuts.

Probably one of the top 3 donut joints in town. Great variety also. They never run out of my favorites. Believe it or not some places do!

I love this place! I've been here many times before at any time of day and it's delish! I love their coffee, it has a different flavor than any coffee places I've been to, but is so yummy. I think it's the cream that's different but who knows. Until today my favorite was their giant apple fritters! Today, since there were no apple fritters left by the time I got there, I tried something different. They have these doughnuts called buttermilk bars that are either glazed or covered in powdered sugar with chocolate drizzle over it. I tried the powdered sugar one, and OMG it's sooooo good! My new favorite by far! The customer service is always wonderful. Sure when it's a long line it may take a little longer since they only have one credit card machine, but obvi it's worth it. If you're looking for a sweet treat and a wake me up in the morning, this is your place!

Good donuts. A large variety to choose. Also fairly good coffee. However, can sometimes be very cramped when there is sizable line of people waiting to order. The are very good at getting them served though.

See I tried to give it a second chance but nope lol. The donuts taste dry and leave some kind of weird aftertaste. Didn't really like the selection of donuts.

Stephanie helped me today and I have to say she will be the reason I come back. She was so nice and helpful. She offered me water while she put together my box of random assorted doughnuts. It was inexpensive too. Thank you for your help Stephanie!

Don't know where all the four and five star ratings are coming from! I found these donuts to be totally commercial with basic less than stellar ingredients. Last purchase was a raspberry jelly donut, here they call a Bismarck. This was one leaden clump of fried dough with raspberry jelly that was thin and unflavored. Will not be going back here especially at $2.59 for the donut! I'll go to Voodoo and put up with the lines.

I wanted to give this place a good review but I can't do it. Lamar's is overpriced and the cake doughnuts are tiny! I paid a $1.30 for a doughnut I ate in 2 bites that's pathetic. This will be my last visit. If you want a good doughnut shop that has good prices and quality go to Yummy's doughnuts.

Awesome doughnuts and excellent service! Ask for Brian he knows the best selection to go with any weather, mood, or coffee selection. Never knew there was so much art to the creation of their doughnut! Ask for the magical story of the chocolate glazed. Wide selection of classic doughnuts. Haven't had a dry one, but maybe if you wait until the afternoon it may be getting dry because they use no chemicals or preservatives unlike some of the bigger chains. Only downside is they keep running out of doughnuts early. So get there early or ask for the manager to have the kitchen make some more for us late risers!

Stood in the line and I don't mind the wait but when it came to my turn she looked passed me to the family standing directly behind me. The family had to tell her I was there first clearly anyone could see I was since I was after the man she just helped. Not only that I pointed at a donut at the display and then she went behind her to grab some old as heck stale donut. Maybe she didn't want to serve me in the first place. Never coming back here again and I won't recommend this place to anyone either. If you want your business to succeed get some personable help because she's not it.

The early bird does get the worm...in this case awesome donuts! If you go after 11am, you will not get the sweet, hot delicious donuts this place can do. The service is wonderful, but the parking can be sparce. This beats KrispyKreme, and other competitors hands down.

Love Lamar's! Service can be hit or miss but the donuts are always delicious. It's not as gimmicky as voodoo and I think they taste better. Very happy to have it so close to home.

I've came here twice, both times in the morning and have felt like I was getting yesterday's stale doughnuts. I've bought a dozen every time and they've been dry. Also, the people who worked there also seemed irritated to serve me. Was hoping for a better experience the second time and was still feeling rushed out even tho it wasn't busy.

The bf loves donuts. I'd call it a donut problem, but he claims it's a hobby--he's a "donut enthusiast." And before we visited his family in CO, he told me tales of Lamar's donuts. So I headed out one morning and walked to Lamar's for breakfast. We'd tried to go the day before, but they closed early when they sold out of donuts--now THAT piqued my interest. My allergies were raging, so my eyes were bloodshot to the point of not having any white left. I hadn't showered yet, so my blue and black hair was raggedy. I'd just pulled on a hoodie and left the house. I think I made the staff (and that nice lady behind me) nervous. I doubt anyone believed that my 6 donuts were for anyone but myself. (But really, I only ate one!) These donuts are HUGE. The fillings were pretty tasty (okay, i did take a bite of the filled one). We cut them in half and shared. Well, I kept my maple frosted donut all to myself. As donuts go, these were good. And the coffee was good (I got a kick out of the Russian coffee from Denver).

I have had a few lamars here and there- at office functions, or a breakfast meeting, but I had never actually been to lamars until today. We went in around 11-ish, and they didnt have that much of a selection. I guess they sell out fast. I got a chocolate iced cake donut and a bavarian cream filled bizmark. They cake donut was sweet with overpowering sweetness. Same with the bizmark. I ate about 1/2 of the bizmark before I put it down and walked away. My partner had a chocolate cake donut and a sourcream old fashion. He liked both but also commented on their too sweetness. They were on the expensive side $9 for 4 donuts, a coffee and a milk. There online menu looks amazing, and I might have to try them again for a seasonal flavor like orange cake or cherry cake. But I think im gonna stick to Winchells.

The donuts are big satisfying and heaven. I have been three times and the first time the guy behind the counter thought I should have a Valium before I come in. So excited was I. The cream filled ones are my favorite. They are not cheap but if you w

Lamar's is my closest chain donut shop, and though I usually prefer the independent places, they're probably the best chain in town. I always enjoy their variety, they keep the place clean and service is quick. As far as the important stuff goes, the donuts are usually well-stocked and everything I've tried has been very tasty. I do wish they would go back to using actual M&M bits instead of the candy they put on top now, but it's still probably my favorite one. It's hard to go wrong with a good double Dutch though. They have all the usual flavors and a couple of more interesting ones like a cherry fritter, and they tend to be on top of the seasonal sprinkles for the various holidays, which I always appreciate. If you're near a Lamar's and you're wondering whether they're better than the other big chains, stop in and you'll see that they are.

Wish there were more of these franchaises around. The donuts are very good. Much better than crispy creme. They have many limited offerings to give an additional variety to the already wide selection. I do NOT recommend getting any of the specialty coffee drinks. They just plain don't know how to make them. Still not the best I've had, but still pretty darn good.

This morning before heading on out to the office, we decided to make a stop over at Lamar's. Sheri had been here once before one morning and although I would have usually gone to the Starbucks across the street, I figured it wouldn't to give this a try. Now I am not a big donut consumer, especially over the past couple of years, so I would normally never got to a place like this on my own. However as I said, I went in knowing that even if I didn't get a donut, I was going to leave with a coffee. The place isn't much to look at from the outside and it's placement is hidden from most of the traffic that drives by it. Unless traveling west on Iliff, would it have a real chance to be seen. The inside of the little shop is quite surprising. It's actually a really nice place. Seating to the left and right of the entrance, display case with all the various donuts that they sell in front of you as well as a menu of all their beverages hanging up above you. I needed a few minutes to look it all over before ordering. I wanted to get my coffee order right before moving on to the donuts. After getting my order down, I took a look at the types of donuts they had. Pretty typical for a donut shop. I didn't find anything that stood out as a "must try", so I stuck to what I know and like. I got myself a maple bar and an old fashioned donut (my favorite!) As I type this, my old fashioned still sits in the bag, couldn't eat two donuts, too sweet between the donut and coffee. I got a Soy Carmel Macchiato to drink. It was scalding hot, so I had to give it some time to cool down before taking a sip. I split my super hot coffee on myself yesterday, so I was very cautious about this one, which felt hotter than the sun itself. I swear if you were to drop an ice cube over the cup, it would have turned to steam before actually hitting the coffee. When it was cool enough for human consumption, it was pretty good. It was much sweater than I am used to, an added shot would have mellowed it a bit, but it was my first time here and know next time, that is IF I make a return visit. It's not because I didn't like their donuts or the Dazbog coffee they serve, it's just I'm moving soon and I love my Starbucks too. :)

I've only been here once, but it was great! I picked out a dozen donuts to bring to work to share with the office staff. The guy at the counter was very nice and we had a fun little chat about baseball. They even had donuts with Rockies colored sprinkles... purple and white on chocolate! Anyway, this place is definitely A-OK and I'm sure I will be back for a return visit.

Things You must know about Lamar's Donuts: 1. I strongly feel that a specialized donut shop should have a donut or certain product that they can differetiate themselves from everyone else. When asked what there specialty was or there most popular item the workers looked at me funny. 2. Coffee is average. 3. Donuts are average to lower average. Nothing spectacular on the menu. 89 cents per regular donut. 4. Large seating area. 5. No drive through 6. Clientle for this place is people above 50 mostly. 7. While not bad, Lamar's is one of the worst independent donut shops I have ever eaten at. Someone commented how big the donuts are. Yeah they better be big for $1.89 per large filled donut. 8. Overall I've had better and fresher. Would not come back. Would go to dunkin donuts or starbucks next time.

Very Very dissapointing! Dry, tastless and expensive. Nothing better than a good donut, this is NOT the place to stop. On top a that the customer service lacks, not even a Thank you for purchasing over expensive donuts.

I drive by this place every day on my way to work and I eat it on a regular basis too, but that doesn't mean that it's good, it just means that I love donuts and there isn't anywhere else to go. With this place it's a hit or miss sometimes because they are experts on making only certain types of donuts. For instance the raised glazed donut is made to perfection, but if you order a buttermilk bar it's always raw in the center. I think that maybe some people like it that way since it sells so well. The chocolate bars are like a foot long no lie, and they rock. The quality of the coffee here really depends on the person that is helping you, I've learned to ask certain people to make my coffee because they know how to make it just right. The funny thing is that I'm not picky about my coffee and they still manage to mess it up. The other day I had a white chocolate mocha and instead they gave me a cup of flavorless frothy milk. Overall I would say that you shouldn't give them your business unless you're like me and this is your only option.
