Defiantly some good home made bbq ! All the staff is very friendly and will show you a "taste" plate of now sauces ! It's always fun to taste test all of them to find your favorite ! A couple times they have brought us bbq chips out with it to taste test . Service is very fast !! And the portions are huge !! Food is hot and flavorful ! A good family bbq place with not bad of a price !

The happy hour is where its at! I can order food and drinks for two people for under $25! The food is always delicious. I think the only bad thing I've eaten there was the pulled pork nachos. The flavors just don't mix well. The beer selection is okay, but I do wish there were some other brew options other than Coors and Sam Adams... We're in Colorado for crying out loud! The staff are very friendly but a little slow. Plan on waiting a little while to place any orders or be prepared to flag them down. They seemed to be more concerned with doing their side work, talking to each other, and eating their own meals rather than pay attention to their customers. Over all this is a decent place in the neighborhood with a cheap happy hour and delicious food!

I've tried Famous Dave's twice now and both times were pretty good. The second time, the meat was a little drier.. the beef brisket basically reminded me of beef jerky lol. Both time I was here, I had the feast for 2.. and oh man.. it's SO MUCH FOOD. It definitely feeds 3.. The feast for 2 comes with: -Ribs -Pulled pork -Beef Briskets -Half a chicken -Coleslaw -Baked beans -Fries -Mac N Cheese (we switched out the corn) -Corn bread muffins I really like their sides. Their fries are definitely cooked to perfection, coleslaw is very refreshing.. there are little pork pieces in the baked beans that make it super delicious. The mac n cheese is just mediocre.. but what is a bbq without mac n cheese? You HAVE to order it. As for the meat... it's not thaaaat great. I've definitely had better bbq meat before.. but it's still pretty good and i would come back. The portion size is just so big for the price, that it makes it pretty worth it. The nachos were also pretty amazing. I would totally order these again! Staff is nice and attentive!

How can you go wrong with Famous Daves? You cant. It was a busy night but we showed up at the perfect time, and was given a table that had just opened up. My Appetizer of choice was the burnt ends. I wanted a specific beer but it was just rotated out, so the server gave me a recommendation of a Raspberry beer I believe. It was delicious and spot on. Ordered the rib tips meal and it was a nice amount of meat with the two sides, my tummy was happy.

I tried the lunch special and my expectations were definitely exceeded. My beef with a lot of BBQ places is that they don't include ribs in a lunch special. Dave's had a lunch special with two meats, a side, and cornbread and white bread. I chose the ribs and the spicy sausage link. The sausage link was ginormous and the ribs (you get 2) were tender and fall-off-the-bone. For a side I tried the grilled pineapple which has a hint of cayenne pepper and sugar which produced a very unique flavor. I ordered this to-go and they had it ready quickly and my food was nice and hot when I got back to work.

Been here twice, recently since moving to the area. They have a killer happy hour, that's for sure. This last time we went our server didn't really know what he was talking about, and seemed quite unhappy about working. We asked for a "Pilsner" size beer, and brought us a pint. Ok, no biggie. Our baked potato soup came out luke warm, but we were in a rush cause we had a wedding to get to so didn't have time to wait for another. It could have been a better experience, but it wasn't horrible. We will be back.

Typical famous daves if your craving bbq. Nothing special but always hits the spot. I always love the Mac n cheese and service to get seated was s little slow at this location but same ol same ol bbq joint.

This is the first time here and I want to be fair. However, I know BBQ and it of all the BBQ, this was just overall okay. I'm giving three stars because the BBQ was very good. The chopped pork was salty, the beans were not good, the mashed potatoes were just okay. The corn was okay, the corn muffin was good. The service was good and friendly, I always appreciate that. Place was clean but the food was just okay. I paid $60 for two meals and one appetizer. Not sure I'll be back.

Famous Daves is a excellent place to grab rich tasty meats and brews! David H was hands down the best server I've ever been waited by. Good job!

Famous Daves is a great BBQ option in a convenient location. Their menu offers all the standard BBQ plates, and family platters, and the tables have their variety of sauces, which are all very good ( and bottled and sold in a grocery store near you)! The meats are obviously done over wood fires and are tasty. The cornbread is good and the jalepano mac n cheese is creamy and not spicy. The other sides are good and the prices/service will leave you satisfied.

Stopped in last Friday and enjoyed the whole experience. Great, quick staff. Excellent lunch specials. The brisket and pork were delicious and the house margarita was pretty good. We will certainly be back!

We popped in a couple of weekends ago for a late lunch and I tried the brisket burger with cheddar cheese. Easily the best burger I've had in Colorado. The brisket added to the ground beef is an amazing idea and the burger was perfectly seasoned. Definitely try this!!

A chain restaurant with awesome service and food! I ordered ribs this time with a ton of sides. I literally had to roll myself out of there. I have been twice in two states and the experience is seamless! They have plenty of BBQ sauce at the table. You can also be rest assured you will go home with leftovers!

Came here for lunch on break from work tried ordering take out but bartender did not even acknowledge or tried taking or order he was taking other people's order but not ours. Very bad service.

Chose Famous Dave's after our other favorite BBQ place was closed for the night, and were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful food, comfortable casual atmosphere and prompt service. We decided to try the "Platter for Two" that had a great variety of ribs, brisket, corn on the cob, fries, muffins, cole slaw and beans. The Famous Dave's margarita was refreshing, and a great size for enjoying, with a brandy float on top maki got unique. Bathrooms were clean, hostesses pleasant, and overall a great experience for a family dinner, even at prime time on a Saturday night.

We came here after a disastrous experience trying to get seated at a nearby restaurant. They got us sweet tea in advance and that helped tide the children over while we were waiting for a large enough table to seat us. The service was alright and the food was good, however not GREAT! The kids menu was good, they loved their ribs (though by the end of it I was beginning to think they needed a sink AT the table). The bread was really tasty before the meal. The guys loved the burgers and I'm a HUGE fan of the mac and cheese. However I think I am the only one that appreciated it. Even if there was corn in it, which I normally don't like extra corn in my food. They got one of the burgers wrong but it worked out because he wanted what someone else go anyhow. It was a great burger and the other one that was wrong was eaten for lunch the next day by a very hungry 13 year old girl. Famous Dave's saved the day for us locals and people visiting from Texas! Thanks a ton y'all!

It's ok, I've been here three times and it usually seems like the food was from the night before. Good selection of beers, though.

I didn't love it but I didn't hate it- the service, the food and the atmosphere. The draft beer selection is pretty slim and living in craft beer mecca of Colorado, I expected a lot more. Service was a bit on the slow side, especially for 5pm on a Saturday. It took them 10+ minutes just to get a table put together for 7 of us. And then our waitress, while good, was obviously spread thin and didn't stop by to check on us very often. We started with the onion strings and they were limp and greasy- ick! I had a two meat platter with 2 sides and cornbread muffin; the chopped pork was ok and the sausage was decent. Good variety of sauces and good presentation with the chips to sample them. The best thing anyone ordered was the burnt tips- those were delicious! hubby had those with ribs, and the ribs were pretty good as well. I had collard greens and mashed potatoes as sides. The huge pieces of blubbery bacon in the collard greens was a big turn off to what could have been a good side. The mashed potatoes were very good, and I did enjoy them. The atmosphere of this place is a bit chaotic with all the crap on the walls and cavernous feeling spaces. Staff is pretty young and I watched as a waiter tried to bully the young hostesses about who was serving/seating in what areas- unprofessional. All in all, this is definitely not somewhere I will likely choose to go again, especially with so many other options in the area, and better BBQ elsewhere.

Their all you can eat rib tips on thursday is a great deal. Plus if you cant handle eating one of those huge entrees on the menu, the happy hour is a good time to go and try their bbq. You can get pork sliders, and chicken tenders, and other little samples for a fraction of their full priced menu. I enjoy the selection of bbq sauces they have at every table. The drinks were a bit too sweet for my taste, but the bbq made up for it. Anytime I crave for bbq I think of this place to go. However, the service is decent. I had a girl start off our table with just our drinks. Before we could order our acutal meal she had her jacket on a ready to go. She asked if someone else took our order before she was about to bolt, and we said no. She took our order anyways, but if you start off as our waitress don't leave me abandoned for someone else to pick me up!

Awesome of the bone bbq ribs and great brisket. On your table table you can find different types of bbq sauce dispensers. Great service, they even gave us a welcome gift on our first visit. The only reason they get 4 stars is because I still think there must be a better bbq out there in Denver.

One of my favorite restaurants. Hot link sausage and ribs are by far the best you can get. This place does a large volume of business, so you may have to wait for a table. Worth the wait, if so. If you have an opportunity to try their macaroni and cheese...it's to die for. Mixed with a kick of jalapeno pepper, it is unlike anything I have had before. All-American Feast is a good one to try. Staff is always friendly and helpful. They are also great for catering (i.e. rehearsal dinners, gatherings at home with guests, etc.).

This Famous Dave's is in a great location. We got food to go the other night. They could definitely be more generous on there portions of to go food as one meal is $13.99 and we got probably $8 worth of food. The food tasted great tho. The guy that helped me when I picked up the food was great as well. I love their sweetwater catfish and rib tips. We will be back to dine in! :)

Lunch special rocks, sit in the bar for excellent service. We have been customers for a long time but anymore I can't stand dinner. Nothing is served fresh, seems always luke warm, no refills on lemonade, and the brisquit is dry. Why is it when you hammer down some que at lunch, its a completely different story? Lunch is 5 stars, no bad experiences. Dinner, haven't had a good experience literally since September.

It's ok. We used to like it, but something changed. The food isn't authentic, now it is just burned and salty.

I like Famous Dave's, just not this one. We ordered take out one time. Food was sub-par compared to other Famous Dave's I've been to. I was really disappointed in the macaroni, particularly. Everything seemed stale and luke warm.

Super sauces, awesome sides, delicious food. Try the Wilbur beans! They have a little kick to them and little chunks of yummy brisket. If you are a fan of BBQ, you're probably already familiar with Famous Dave's. If not, Famous Dave's could make you a fan. It's good eatin'.

So, I get the email about the All You Can Eat Rib tips for 9.99 on Thursday. Decided to meet some friends there and was quite happy and satisfied with the value of that deal. We never made it to the All You Can Eat Part... the initial order was so plentiful that none us could finish one. The service was a little slow sitting in the bar. I think server was just doing too much as both bartender and server. We did have a larger party of 7 people who arrived in waves. He was attentive to refilling drinks once he got on a roll with us. The leftovers made for a great lunch the next day and prompted so much interest in my office a group of 12 of us met there the very next Thursday night to do it all over again. This time we sat in the dining room. It's a little loud in there but still overall nice. We had a great server who took care of us all promptly. Again, arriving in waves as people got off of work and through traffic. I liked that they seated us before everyone had arrived since a lot of places don't want to do that. It wasn't an issue to get separate checks either. Go check out Thursday night rib tips... you won't be sorry!!!

Craving bbq and that was the only local spot around the area. Came in and sat at the lounge/bar for happy hour. They have various appetizers for their happy hour food menu. We got the deep fries mac and cheese, chili cheese fries, and chicken tenders. I was impressed with the deep fried mac n cheese but it came out a bit cold. Not sure why. I ordered ribs and brisket. The ribs were tough and the briskets were tender but flavorless. The food was not impressive. I would give it only 3 stars but Talbert, the bartender/waiter was awesome. He was attentive, helpful, and had a great attitude even when he had no help from other staff members. He ran the show all by himself that is why I give them an extra star.

Had this location make food for a work lunch meeting. The food was great, normal for a Famous Daves. Food is good, not my favorite BBQ, but good. Had dinner at this location with the family. Food was just as expected, service was okay not great. Between the two experiences, within the same week, food was good. Overall, liked another BBQ restaurant better within driving distance of thus location. I would eat here again if we were shopping nearby.

The first time I had the rib tips they were awesome. I am so very disappointed this time and sad to say this visit will be my last. They were burnt and very very very dry. I can't specify how DRY they were. I showed my server the unedible tips resembling Kings charcoal he took then back and brought my tips that certainly looked better. Upon closer inspection they were just as tuff and freaking hot! Not the good kinda hot but the kind of hot that is produced from a microwave! I just gave up :( paid for my food and left.

Amazing sauce selection. Personable staff very friendly and welcoming. We tried a little bit of everything. The standout appetizer is Dave's Fried Mac & Cheese!! Can't say enough about the meat and side selection. We came here on recommendation. We will be back!!

How did it take me leaving the state of Texas to gain any appreciation for barbecue? I don't know but in the almost two years that I left the ATX I have actually started to understand the obsession. We had a large party when we came here. Kind of a mini high school reunion but with kids in tow. They were able to accommodate our large group and our server remained patient despite the squealing children. This is a restaurant suited for a little craziness. Barbecue is messy and so are kids so no one truly minded. The food was pretty good. I got the Texas brisket (duh?!?) and enjoyed it. My daughter got the pulled pork sandwich and ate the majority of it which meant that was a favorable review in her books. They do like the spice at Famous Dave's. The mac and cheese was good but a little much for me to handle with the jalapenos in there. My sister raves about the drunken apples though. They also have decent beers on tap.

Who doesn't love some good ol bbq? Yes Famous Dave's is a chain but who cares... The food and service are always superb. Glad they have catfish back in the menu, pretty darn good stuff here!

  • Wes T.

I really like Famous Dave's. It's a chain, so you don't get that "authentic" vibe, but the food isn't half bad and their happy hour specials are a real great deal. Decor: like TGI Fridays. There's all sorts of crap on the walls. From snow shoes, to random signs, to pictures of people you don't know and that likely have no connection to this restaurant or even the chain. Whatevs. The seating is comfortable (they even have booths), and they can accommodate large groups. The food: really good if you like barbecue. They have ribs, pulled pork. chicken, you get the idea. The side dishes are also really good, I like the mac and cheese, personally. For those of you on a lighter diet, they do have a light menu. I've never tried it, but it seems like it'd be OK given the quality of everything else. Staff: Not too shabby. They stay light on their toes, I've never had a problem with service here.

I'm not giving this place a head over heels I'm in love with you review because the food was gross. Chain restaurant or not, it should not be advertised as legit bar-b-que. Came during happy hour and ordered the rib tip basket with fries, and fried pickles. All I can say is Who dropped the Salt?! Not only were the tips severely undercooked, it was so salty even the array of different sauces at the table couldn't disguise it enough for me to overlook it! bar-b-que is not like steak where I can eat it still mooing at me and enjoy it so that was enough to ruin this night from jump street. I never had fried sweet pickles either? I'm not a fan. Give me good ole dill in crispy batter anyday over these sweet, soggy concoctions. Only thing that saved me from never visiting this establishment again was the drinks! Those moonshine drinks in the mason jars made me forget about the rest! Drink a few of those and grab dinner elsewhere!

Went there to eat this weekend. Food was excellent, loved ribs and corn breads! TOTAL SCHLAGER! Minus one star for long wait time before seating. Wait stuff was professional and took care of all our needs in timely manner. Prices were a little bit higher than anticipated but overall did not hurt. Will go there again.

Never been to a Famous Dave's before, but some coworkers were hankering for some BBQ. I wasn't very hungry, but tagged along anyway. Pros: -- Really good ribs; I had a 1/2 rack and it was plenty for my lower appetite -- Different sauces allow you to explore the BBQ flavor spectrum -- good baked beans Cons: -- Our pushy waiter gave us the hard sell on big appetizer plates; and then another sell for a "feast" meal; Way more food than we wanted. We succesfully resisted. -- Lackluster beer list with all the usual suspects. Zero micro-brews or local beers (unless you count Coors) -- Absolutely terrible corn on the cob; they shouldn't even bother -- Exudes "chain-iness" I could go back just for the ribs alone; And maybe just for takeout

I don't care if its a chain... its good grub. We have always gotten the Feast for Two but it feeds our family of 5 just fine accompanied by an appetizer or two (Usually boneless wings, burnt ends, or rib tips). The sweet tea is to die for! The kids love the décor, keeps them in their seats pointing at all the wall art. The service other than one time has always been great. The not so great experience was when they were packed and I think just a bit overwhelmed. Definitely recommend to all my family & friends!

It's as good as it gets for what it is. I discovered today that they will substitute the meats and the sides on their feast for two. We substituted rib tips for the chicken and collard greens for the coleslaw. Always love their ribs, pulled pork and rib tips. Today was the first time we've tried their collards. They were spicy, meaty and delicious. Don't miss their Wilbur beans. The fries, corn muffins and corn-on-the-cob are also great.

Colorado isn't known for it's BBQ and this girl loves her BBQ. Even though this is a chain restaurant they still serve some pretty good BBQ. When in doubt I always get consistent service and food at this location. You name it and they have it chicken, brisket, ribs or pork. They have a variety of different sauces to choose from so no matter what your BBQ style is you'll probably be pleased. The portions are large and easy for two light eaters to share.

Greatest food in the world! I love Famous Dave's every time I go I get a Cajun Chicken Sandwich. I've been eating that for at least 13 years! Everything about Famous Dave's is awesome and this location lives up to the good name. This location has a great family friendly and fun atmosphere. They have a nice big open dinning area so you don't feel cramped. They even have live music once or twice a month and the Famous Dave's "Pig" mascot for the kiddies. Like most Famous Dave's you'll have the main manager come and visit your table and ask how your meal was. But the manager of this location is extra cool! He knowing about my dedication to Famous Dave's and my love for their food even gave me a free T-Shirt which I wear proudly to their restaurant. The staff is getting a hang of the operation now that the location has been open for over a year now, so they don't make nearly the amount of mistakes they use too.

I was very disappointed.. I was told their boneless wings are amazing and they ended up tasted like over breaded chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce on them. Brothers BBQ is more flavorful, the chicken is very tender and meat isn't as fattening. Also, we were in the bar which wasn't very busy at the time but it took at least 15 minutes to get our drinks. The Bartender girl was very slow and so was our server. As I was walking by the kitchen, I over head a server ask another server if he should bend over and show his butt crack to his table? Turns out it was our server. After we ordered the food, our sever explained the sauces which doesn't make any sense considering I could have choose another flavor if it was explained about before I took my order.

I have been to other famous Daves and thoroughly enjoyed them. This one not so much. I've been here a few times because I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Each time it got worse. The brisket is dry and salty, the ribs weren't worth the money, I used to love the beans and now they are watery. The servers were always nice but not enough for me to go back.

  • Jaz R.

We loved this place, service was great, ribs were great, food excellent! Waiters were professional and helped with all our needs. Price is a bit higher comparing to other BBQ restaurants, but i suppose its because its a new restaurant. will definitely go there again.

Right on Dave. If your name is David, Dave, or Davey today is your day. Free meal up to 15.00. I am giving this 5 stars today for a job well done. Our server was great and the food is good but the idea today was fabulous. Do you know how many Daves there are? Probably not but the folks ar Famous Daves do or will by 10pm tonight. At 2pm there was a 15 to 20 minute wait. I bet it was that way all day and will be till 10pm tonight. We will go back around 930 for our second free meal of the day. Ok just kidding.

This Famous Dave's used to be our fav BBQ by far. Unfortunately, we have been there twice in the last month and the theme was exactly the same. Completely dried out meat that takes a TON of sauce to make edible. Luckily the sauce choices are very good, just ask your server for a second bottle and you may be OK. Its a shame because this place used to have the juiciest and most succulent BBQ around. They must have changed chefs or something. Was 5 stars easy, last 2 visits I feel 2 stars is accurate. To be fair and balanced, the muffins are still top notch and the fries are nice and crispy on the outside and soft inside. Very well done indeed! Hope the management will fix this, if not we will find a new fav BBQ place. :(

Ribs taste ok, I like the rib tips better. A little pricey plus portion is not generous. Lunch prices are cheaper and Thursdays they have all you can eat rib tips for $10. Cheap appetizers and happy hour drinks Mon-Fri 3-6pm 8pm-close and all day Sat Sun in the bar area.

I had really high hopes for this place as many people talk this place up like it's the best thing since sliced bread. I can't say it was a bad experience, but it certainly wasn't the mind blowing bbq experience I've been hearing about. The food was good for all at my table (8 people in my party) and the portions were generous but it was pretty average. Not bad and not exceptional bbq. I wouldn't refuse to eat here if in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to get here either. The bottom line is, this is a solid bbq place to get good food if you are in the area. Although, honestly, I think Jim 'N Nick's is better tasting and they have those amazing muffins you can't stop eating.

Crazy busy. I guess Aurora doesn't get many new chains?!?! At any rate, it was actually worth it. Chopped Pork was salty and tender. The jalapeno mac and cheese was creamy with that little kick. Garlic Mashed - good, nothing notable. And the hot fudge brownie thing was amazing - huge, huge, huge! This section of the world is quickly becoming the epicenter of traffic - so parking can be a touch challenging, but it just means you might have to walk a bit - you'll find a spot even if it is out there (during busy times). Its a fun, laid back joint. We will be back!

Famous Dave's is one of the best chain BBQ joints in Colorado. That is not to say that this is the best BBQ in Colorado, but it is a good option. As one of my dining companions said so well, "why would you go to a place that sings about baby back ribs that are only mediocre, when you could have much better at Famous Dave's?" Good point. Went with two buddies yesterday, and had the pork, the ribs and the chicken. Their chicken was superb, not dried out, and with ample flavor. The ribs were smoked nicely, and the meat pulled fairly cleanly away from the bone. The pork was just plain good. Add a few creative side dishes like the jalapeño mac-n-cheese, and I was full and satisfied.

You wouldn't think there'd be a 45 minute wait at 6pm on a Tuesday night, but there was. Obviously everyone else had the same idea and is trying out the new BBQ restaurant! We opted to sit at the bar, which had a few stools open. The bartender immediately came over and was very helpful in going over the menu with us. They were also quick about giving us new brews when ours emptied. It was a LOT of food, but that's what you come to expect from BBQ restaurants. I got the brisket with the french fries and baked beans. It also came with a piece of cornbread and an ear of corn. The wife got the pulled pork. Everything was extremely excellent. They have 5 or 6 different sauces you can put on the food and between the 2 of us I think we tried all but one. Yum! The food came out extremely fast and the service was excellent. I think we'll definitely be back!

I love BBQ and this place is the best in town. I have been there several times now and everything I have tried was delicious. Super friendly staff as well. I highly recommend their Bloody Mary's. They use their own Bloody Mary mix which they do sell there so I bought some for home. :)

It's like others. "Famous Alix" waitress did mix up the Tea's one was sweet and one was regular and she gave them to the wrong person. It is understandable. They ran out of regular straw's so we had the kid bendy straws.

Good barbecue from the pulled pork to the garlic mashed potatoes. Broccoli was steamed perfectly; thought beer was overpriced.

I have eaten at Famous Dave's numerous times, but my experience is never the same. I have had very good meals, but then I have also had some pretty mediocre or even bad meals. Haven't figured out exactly what causes this phenomenon. Maybe it is the time of day. Or, possibly, it is the day of the week. More research is needed....Sounds like another trip to Famous Dave's is in my future. I will say, I don't care for their BBQ sauces. They are all a little too heavy on the worcestershire sauce for my taste. The Georgia Mustard sauce is my favorite of their options, but that isn't really saying much since I generally go "naked" on the sauces. The hot link is sometimes ok, but sometimes entirely too heavy on the black pepper. The safest picks, in my opinion, are the Georgia chopped pork and the BBQ chicken. However, if you get a lot of "bark" in your chopped pork portion, it will be very salty. My husband likes their BBQ Chicken and the St Louis style ribs. He has tried the rib tips, and they are tasty but have a considerable amount of fat. You don't get as much meat with the tips.

This place deserves five stars because I truly enjoy the helpful staff. Every time we have visited here, the staff always makes the visit fun and enjoyable. Their food is also great. When I think of BBQ Famous Dave's, I know it's going to bring the flavor and doesn't apologize for it. The rib tips really are amazing, the sides are ALL delicious, and their bread pudding is mad, crazy good. Two special people there are: Dougie Fresh, and The Shanester. Go there, enjoy the food, and the staff will do the rest.

Went with my family and got the usual, a trashcan lid full of food! (It's better than it sounds). Service was friendly and the interior decor was enjoyable, like being in an old cabin in the middle of the woods, only with a bunch of strangers...anyway, I had fun.

Headline: Come for the meat during Happy Hour - leave the rest This is my first stop at a Famous Daves, who was apparently self-proclaimed famous before his Food TV debut. My wife and I decided on this place since we were over in the vicinity. Ambiance? Log cabin style bar area with upbeat country rock playing, sort of southern. There was a friendly server at the bar area. They have an awesome happy hour if you prefer to eat rather than drink. They have drink specials, of course, but I don't drink. However, bar snacks starting at a buck, and the most expensive thing was the pound of rib tips for $4. The rib tips are where it's at too. This is not as good a Big Jims further south in Parker, but it's good all the same. The bbq is nice and smoky, and not sauced - you can add your sauce of choice (five to pick from). The rib tips sat atop a basket of wedge-cut fries, which should have been in the fryer ten seconds longer. They were pretty limp. The sides were also nothing to write home about. The green beans were tasteless. How you can put bacon on top of the greens and still get tasteless is beyond me. The sweet potato mash was ok - not good. We ended our meal with dessert minis. I had the bread pudding - three bits of the sauce plus a small scoop of icecream. Good sauce, and a nice creamy bread. My wife had the strawberry shortcake. Although she liked the cake (more spongy than pound cake), the sauce was almost none existent and we expected more than a slither of strawberry to make it a dessert. If the sides were better, this would be four stars. Skip the sides and concentrate on the meat.

We took our two boys to Famous Dave's after hearing so many good things about the BBQ. We ordered the platter that is like $50-60 and is served on a tin trash can lid. Needless to say it feeds a family of four and everyone gets a chance to try all the different meats. So not bad for 60 bucks. We returned to Famous Dave's for happy hour after we were told they had a killer happy hour. We were presently surprised. Beers were reasonably priced and food was exceptionally cheap. My husband and I ate BBQ tips, fries, fried pickles (I didn't care for them but to each his own) and a few cold ones for under 15 bucks! I do not care too much for their BBQ sauce. I think that it taste like a Kansas City/Texas type of flavor. I prefer more southern smoked flavors but it is still pretty tasty. If you want to give Famous Dave's go during happy hour. We are in a recession ya know.

We were down here for an Easter egg hunt at a nearby liquor store (Cornerstar) but we were also starving and with little to nothing open on Easter, we popped in here. The decor is pretty hokey and the staff is almost in your face with their cheesy-ness. I get it is part of the whole gimmick but one thing happened that I may never let go is...when we asked how the hostess was doing she said...."slabtastic". SLABTASTIC?!?!?! With a cheerful straight face. Why?! Why!!!! Ahem, moving on. The food was pretty good. I'm off grains so when I said I didn't want the cornbread and corn on the cob that comes with a meal the server offered that I could get an extra side (steamed broccoli & collard greens) instead for no charge so that was cool. I like the array of sauces also although I didn't really use them much. We had some kind of lunch special here so 2 meals and an iced tea was under $20 which is pretty reasonable. I probably won't come back unless there is another holiday where I am in South Aurora with nothing else open.

I am not a huge fan of BBQ since my hubby and brother-in-law are kings of the PIT!! But since they were new to the Aurora scene I had to check them out. I, of course was smart and waited until they were open at least a month so they could work out the kinks... The hosts were friendly and excited to seat me...I was still waiting on a friend so I waited in the lobby checking out the to go menu and party platters. I have been to Famous Dave's in Michigan and was familiar with their BBQ & sauce. We decided to have a seat in the bar area. Famous Shane took care of us. He was very patient with my friend and I. We hadn't seen each other in years so we had a lot of catching up to do. It took us forever to order!! We shared an appetizer of catfish, side salad (homemade ranch), and a combo platter with beef tips and pork. I love that there is a mixture of BBQ sauces on the table for the guests choice. Loved it there..why no 5 stars?? I was disappointed that we were not notified when happy hour started, and still charged for non happy hour prices. Famous Dave's is lacking appetizers, nothing to brag about, except for happy hour (which we were not informed about). AND..I've applied there twice online and have not received one call or email confirming my application. I am more than qualified!! :)

I was raised in Texas for nearly a decade before moving to Colorado. I take my bbq pretty seriously. How does Famous Daves fare? Decently well considering many cannot compare to the bbq of the Lone Star State itself. Having been to the other Famous Daves, I came to this location for lunch with my dad and brother with heavy appetites. We decided to go for it and order the All-American BBQ Feast: a full slab of their "award-winning" ribs, a whole chicken, 1/2 lb. of either Texas beef brisket or Georgia chopped pork, coleslaw, Famous Fries, Wilbur Beans, four corn-on-the-cob, and four corn bread muffins served family-style for 4-6.) We were well pleased. The brisket was near perfect. Everything else was pretty good too. Be sure to have your server explain the different sauces if you've never been before. The place was very busy. We had to wait 15-20 minutes just to sit the three of us and wasn't even a weekend. Considering how many tables she probably had, our server was relatively quick with our order and drink refills. Kudos! Overall 4 stars. Stay hungry my friends! P.S. The three of us ALMOST finished all the food. We were able to take a reasonable amount back home for the rest of the family. I suggest giving the BBQ Feast a try if you have a group of at least 4 hungry people.

In all honesty we just had the pulled pork sliders and they were pretty blah. We'll have to go back for the ribs to give a full menu review.

My coworkers love this place and go there every Thursday for the all you can eat rib tips. I went with them a few weeks ago and quite honestly I don't think I'll be back. For me to go back to a BBQ place the BBQ has to be better than what I can make and this is not. Their rub tastes like it's mostly salt, so if you enjoy salt pork you'll love this place. Their sauces... blah. I know there are plenty of folks that like this place, I'm just not one of them.

Famous Dave's just opened yesterday and currently they weren't servicing alcohol, but you really do not go to a BBQ restaurant to have drinkings. I even asked the bartender when they do have alcohol what were there happy hour specials were. I think the prices for there happy hour were pretty good. The bartender was knowledgeable about the menu, even though I learned that he have been working with the company for the three years, he was still nervous. The bartender responded pretty fast and explain the menu to me very well with a lot of suggestions and his own input. I still think it was too rehearsed, but he did not tell me about the combo platters, in which I ordered from because I wanted to taste a lot of there food in one visit. I got there rib n meat combo. The meat I got was the roasted chicken. One of the sides I got were the collard greens because in Denver we do not have collard greens. I like the food, it came out in a timely matter. One thing I thought was a problem was how they designed that restaurant, where the kitchen was the bartender couldn't run the food to his bar top because the opening to the bar top was on the opposite side of kitchen is. I know it's a new restaurant and they had a week to get to know the restaurant, the servers that were running the food didn't know where everything was. I think with time, Famous Dave's could be a great restaurant to visit.

Had the pork which was good but the meat portions seem smaller than what I would expect for $12. Of course all the sides were good especially the cinnamon apples. Waitress was quick and on top of it and gave some good reccomendations.

Always get the All-American Feast...always love it! It arrives in a trash-can lid and offers a great variety of BBQ and sides. If you're dining with a group, this is the only way to go.

The food here is still good but I think they changed their buns and grilled chicken within the last year. It doesn't taste as unique and special as it used to. Also, the service at this location is the worst out of all the Famous Daves Ive been to.

Burger was okay (mesquite flavoring - different) but everything else was sub-par. The decor was annoying and the food was not tasty. Like TGIF's for suburban hillbillies. Franchise BBQ places just can't compare to good ol' Texas style BBQ. Let alone, home grilling. High expectations - poor outcome. Wave, cause were not stopping...

  • Brandon W.

I stopped in for lunch with a big group. The service is what you'd expect at a chain... young and helpful. The food wasn't as good as I was told it would be. After eating at BBQ trucks and locally owned joints, this just didn't taste as fresh or as "loved" as the stuff served by the same people who smoked and prepared it. I'm always up for a second chance, so hopefully my pork and beef was a mediocre batch and the next one will knock my socks off. The cornbread muffin and mac 'n cheese certainly warrant an honorable mention. Good stuff.

Surprisingly good! Had the feast for 2--which fed 3 grown adults with leftovers. Ribs: moist and flavorful Chicken: tender and delicious **Brisket: melts in your mouth** My favorite! Chopped pork: a little dry Beans: sweet, savory, bacony goodness Yams: sweet and yummy Cornbread: fresh and moist Coleslaw: tangy and crunchy. They offer 6 varieties of BBQ sauce, something for everyone. Personally, their house was the most lip smacking for me. For a brand new restaurant, this place is hopping! That's how good it is. I'll be back and I'll bring hungry friends.

I went to lunch with my boss and his boss. We all ordered our food. All the food came at once, not bad, but they messed up my order. The server took it back to the kitchen and when I got it back at the table, it was still not what i ordered. I aksed ther server to repeat what i order and she repeated exactly what i ordered. But the time my food finally got to the table, everyone was done eating. It was nott so good to go to this place during lunch, as they are soooooo busy, they can't keep track of who orders what in the kitchen. Lunch was ruined, but I might try to go there for dinner sometime. The food was of course just average.

First off, their food is delicious, but equally importantly, their service is amazing! I stopped in just to buy a gift card for someone at work, I had never eaten there before, so decided to just grab some lunch while I was there. The staff not only took the time to explain all six of their sauces to me and let me sample them all (Texas Pit was my favorite), but they sent me home with a free bottle of sauce so my family could try it too! I was stunned! The location isn't exactly close to my house, but it doesn't matter, we're going to be eating there anyway! :)

Went for the all day happy hour on the weekends. We had a lot of the happy hour goods and beers, but I knew somebody else was buying so I also ordered the brisket plate. The meat was sliced a bit thinner than expected, but it was tender, moist and had a good smoke ring. The collard greens were bland, but the mac n cheese had jalepenos in it and it was good. The impressive part of this meal was the potato items in the happy hour items. They were crispy and good. The rib ends were carmelized really good and tasted good too. The hard part was getting a table in the bar because the happy hour menu doesn't apply to the restaurant side.

First off let me say I love Famous Dave's...Been 10 times over the last year and great...Most recent time there....Corn was frozen then cooked so awful. Kids mac n cheese was 100% Kraft...the adult jalapeno mac n cheese was great...but they tried to charge us for kraft for my kids.....And to top it off they charged 20% gratuity for my party of 6, only 6 Also they took off the catfish appetizer....Waitress told me fish is too expensive now LOL. One of my favorite restaurants is going downhill trying to save money for there corporate leadership So Sad.

Stopped in today for my fiancee's B-day. We are both BBQ hounds, so we decided to give Dave's a go around. We ordered the Feast for two which consisted of 3-4 different meats, sides...etc, perfect for us. 5 different kinds of sauces for your meats which i thought was nice, ranging from sweet to hot. Unfortunately, where Dave strikes out is consistency. The ribs, which, (by the way) were fantastic, the rest of the meats are average at best, and the hospitality there was a bit overkill for my liking, but hey--at least i can't say they are rude. Fair-weather BBQ fans would probably love Dave's, but for me and my fiancee' it just wasn't a big hit with us. BBQ is something serious, and some people just don't have that special touch--not saying Dave's doesn't, it just needs to have something for us to go back for other than the ribs.

The BBQ chopped pork is absolutely delicious! They have a great happy hour with cheap prices for quality food. However, their downfall lies within their staff. The last 4 times I've visited, with 4 different servers, the service was awful. The bartender had an absolute attitude one evening; one girl forgot to order my food and insisted it'd be right out and ofcourse it wasn't; the last girl repeatedly tried to rush us through our meal even though it was a slow afternoon. She offered dessert mid meal by saying "Save any room for (insert dessert option)?" Me: "We're still eating." Her: "ok, well do you want to save some room for dessert?". Are you serious? Two minutes later, she asks if we need boxes, while my sandwhich is in my hand. I don't know if she was new or what but good grief that was annoying.

Yeah! A bbq place closer to my home. I am a bbq junkie. We had lunch on the 6th day the place was open and it was great! Their sauces rock and the manager stopped by and made sure everything was ok. You can't do any better unless you're doing it yourself.

This is the first bad experience I have had a Famous Dave's. The location in Stapleton has been around longer and we had them cater my husband's graduation party a few years ago without a hitch. So now that this location is open so much closer to my home I decided to use them as I called ahead to have an order ready from pick up at 5:30 for my Mom's birthday last week. This particular place came as a request from her and I thought I would pre-order, and swing by on my way to Northwest Denver for dinner. I called around 1:00 P.M. to ensure it would be ready and knowing I have parent/teacher conferences up until that time. I arrived at 5:40 P.M. and went to the "togo" window as directed where the woman showed up and looked clueless as I gave her my name. She looked at all of the tickets behind her and told me to go check at the bar with the bartender "Joe" who told me he did not have my order either. I went back to the togo register questioning myself and thinking I had called the Stapleton location while I waited at least 8 minutes for the same lady to finally come back out to give me the number to Stapleton or call over there for me. When she came out she had a hand written ticket with my name on it and said "what was your name again?" very matter of fact. I was shocked and relieved. She rang it up and I noticed it was not enough so when question the order was not complete and still without an apology she added the missing item on and took my credit card as payment as she told me that they would get to it as soon as possible. WHAT????? I had ordered it to be ready at 5:30 and now it was almost 6:00 P.M. and they were going to get to it as soon as possible. I asked to speak to the manager who after sever more minutes finally came out telling me it had been a crazy night. I explained the situation to him and his first words out of him mouth were how he was not responsible for his staff's attitude!!!!!! Wow! He went back to check on the progress of my order since he could not believe I still did not have the order. He himself helped them complete the order and then he credited me for half the cost. I left the establishment at 6:27 P.M. with my order. When we got it to my mom's we did not have plates or napkins. My mom was diappointed and said next time let me hook you up with the person I only use at Stapleton she will take care of you!

A friend and I met for happy hour here. You have to sit in the bar, but there are high tops too. It was easy to get a seat. We ordered two orders of different types of wings, onion strings, and rib tips or pork tips. Well, our four orders of happy hour food came to about $15, and it was so much food that the two of us didn't come near eating it all (and this was our dinner). I even brought up that we wanted the hh portion - wow. I'm not a bbq fan, but my friend is...aka why we were there. I will say it isn't happening, or swanky, and doesn't have any good wine choices. Seriously...please just purchase one decent red wine from the liquor store down the street. However, the hh prices and portions are unbelievable. Our server was nice and came over whenever we waved for him. The spicy wings were really good too, and I'm particular about my wings! My friend was all about the tips and onion strings. I also witnessed a wise business decision that was made that was in the best interest of a large group of customers and the company. Being how many poor ones I witness on a daily basis, I almost stood up and gave a standing ovation. I admire employees who can think on their feet and do what is best for the customer and the company. I did compliment the individuals who made the decision. We will return. I think the bear in the front is a cute photo op for kiddos too!

When you mention BBQ, the first thing that comes to mind is Ribs. So I figured this place must have good ribs, if we go by the yelp rating system. But I guess I was wrong. I ordered the sampler meal (which for the price they serve plenty of food) had beans, mac-n-cheese, sausage, ribs, cornbread, and corn. The mac-n-cheese was delicious and the beans were one of a kind (I'm a fan). But when it was time to devour the ribs I was highly disappointed. The meat did not fall of the bone and I had to put my jaw to work in order to eat the ribs. I love BBQ so I know when a pit deserves 4-5 stars in Yelp and this doesn't deserve that rating.

We went to Famous Dave's for lunch. I had the rib tips and they were not only dryed out and burned but loaded with salt. So if you like salty charcoal for lunch then this is the place for you. Also, the waitress was unfriendly and acted like she was doing us a favor to talk to us. Not a good experience, and I wouldn't go back.

Service was great even though super busy New Years Eve, very eager to please. Food is normally good but either due to new staff or how busy, most items were very salty, even I who salts everything, found the pork meat to be overwhelmingly salty. We'll definitely be back but maybe wait another month for them to work the kinks out. Recommend: sliced brisket

Great service and atmosphere! I got the texas manhandler sandwich with the beans and the drunken apples. I practically licked the plate it was so delicious! Food was delivered quickly and was full of flavor. My fiance got the beef brisket sandwich and said that was delicious. He really enjoyed the sweet and sassy sauce. We had a great experience there and will definitely be returning!

We have been eating at Famous Daves since the Stapleton Resturant opened when my daughter was a baby. I was excited when I saw one would be opening up in Aurora. It's worth the money. I always get the chicken tenders and walk away with food still on my plate. My daughter rarely eats the chicken tenders at other resturaunts but she managed to eat them all by herself and the mashed potatoes. The management is friendly at the cornerstar location. Its the first time Ive been into a Famous Daves and they enteracted with my Daughter. The manager invited my daughter to color and that they would put up her picture. She was excited that it would be in the resturant. We went on Monday at 8 pm and there was no wait. Ill be back!

We went here with another couple on their recommendation and although I am not a big fan of BBQ this place was awesome! I have been to Jim N Nicks at Southlands and they are good but this was a head and shoulders above that. On a Saturday we got there at 5 and the place was already packed but we got a seat in no time. Our server was promptly at our table to take our drink orders and was very nice and informative about the menu. The side salad was huge, I could have easily split it and the ranch was good. We managed to get there early enough to order from the early bird menu and it was honestly a hell of a deal for the price. 2 meat choices, corn on the cob, choice of side, and the best corn muffin I've had in a long time for about $8.50! I ordered the brisket and the BBQ chicken, the brisket was laid out nicely on a thick piece of toast and melted in my mouth, I thought it was great until I dove into the chicken. OMG, tender, juicy and amazing flavor! As if these weren't enough I had ordered the Famous Dave's Mac N Cheese as my side and I could have eaten 5 bowls. It was creamy with little bits of corn (strange right?) and Jalapeno. It had just enough kick making it totally irresistible! I wanted to keep eating after I was full but decided to bring the leftovers home to enjoy it again tomorrow. I am now officially a mainstream BBQ fan!

Came to Famous Dave's for the first time on Friday to celebrate. Being that it was a friday, it was pretty packed. A 40-50 minute wait!! I was starving but we really wanted to try this place so we decided to sit up at the bar until our table was ready. The bartender was quick and attentive, got all three of us our drinks in less than five minutes!! He forgot the cherry in my Shirley Temple though, what's up with that? xD anyway, after we got our drinks he offered us to look at the menu while we waited. This was great for me since I usually take awhile to decide on what I want. I quickly found what sounded tasty and put my menu down to watch the Rockies game. That was a plus just to have that game right in front of me haha. The wait seemed to go by fast. Sure didn't feel like 40 minutes to me. More like 20, but our table was ready nevertheless. The hostess was really nice. She showed us to our booth and even told us where the bathrooms were on the way!! Which is another plus since it was our first time and everyone in my family seems to always have to go. Then she told us something using a weird word. I can't even remember but I read another review saying the waitress said "slabtastic!!" apparently FD's employees have this list of words they're supposed to use while talking to the customers. (the hostess mentioned this) Our waitress was super. She's probably about the only reason I'm giving this place such a high rating. She had a great attitude, introduced us to every sauce on the table, and gave me the cherry I wanted in my drink and said "it's just a cherry sprite if there's no cherry!!" The food came out FAST. couldn't have been more than ten minutes. I got the rib tips, with the garlic mashed potatoes and the collard greens. My parents both got the brisket. So my collard greens = a bowl of salt. They were just way way to salty so I wouldn't reccomend those. The mashed potatoes were yummy, and I loved the corn bread muffins!! Brisket was tender, and I liked the rib tips. They were like a chewy meaty nugget haha but be warned: they still have bones.

I like Famous Daves. I like the Famous Dave's at Stapleton....yes to me that's the best one... The day we went was a holiday and the ribs were dry. The pulled pork was mostly fat and it was not a good experience. We went to the one in Centennial that day... I cannot recommend that specific Restuarant. I highly recommend the Stapleton location. I think at Stapleton they know what they are doing.

I am not a huge BBQ fan but the dinner with family was really good! I love the variety of sauces at the table. I got burnt ends and I had some to take home for lunch the next day

Good stuff.

  • Dave S.
