The kids ate all the ribs we bbq'ed.....I thought. We lost a rack of ribs. Guess what? Three days later I found the rack of ribs we had dry rubbed, bbq'ed, and slathered with Kansas city style sauce...in the oven....so, no, we could not eat them. Still wanting bbq, and thinking I had no leftovers from our amazing family bbq, I went to Bennett's to get some smoked turkey. I love their smoked turkey, it is amazingly moist and flavorful. Expensive, but delicious. And as it wasn't left in the oven for days, safe to eat. The sides are good too. The slaw is exceptional.

I had the 'Po' Boy" which consisted of brisket and hot links on a very tasty long bun. The brisket a bit dry but tasty and tender, and a little of the tangy sauce went a ways to help it out. I liked the sausage, it was nice and spicy, but not over-bearing. French fries were, well, French fries. I don't much care for the odd coating people put on their fries these days. I will return t check out the other sides they offer, and as this is right around the corner from my workplace, I expect I will be back again. Staff was helpful, and kept my glass filled. Service was prompt ( i was there at lunch time) and parking was ample, though it's a little tricky heading out if you're heading south on Peoria.

Had some Bennett's catered to work over this lovely 4th of July holiday, and I was pleasantly surprised (for the most part). The potato salad had some odd very firm (non-potato bits), the sauce was sweet and tangy and thick (mee likey), the beans combined deliciously with the pulled pork, and I guess the coleslaw was good (I am not the person to ask, I don't like the 'slaw). The food was good, but not good enough for me to seek them out and eat there. If I am near by and have myself a hankerin' for some BBQ then I know where to go.

We ordered for a meeting and luncheon for all the employees at work. When I first pulled up the parking lot was empty and it was lunch time so I wasn't sure what to expect. The food turned out to pretty good and I had to apologize to the manager that took me there because I started to talk crap as we pulled in the parking lot.

I should have listened to the star average. I really wanted to believe and somtimes have a "good BBQ sauce can cover almost anything" attitude. The meats were so very dry. I bet the brisket would have been good a few days earlier or something based on the beautiful smoke ring.
