High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. I would have given zero stars but couldn't. This place is a shit hole. I went there, sat at the bar, and recieved no service so I ended up leaving with nothing in my belly. No beer no food no service. I thought as long as I have followed the shirt and shoe rule I'd be served but guess not. I tried to write Applebees but if you don't buy anything you can't write them. Which benefits the bar not serving me anything since I can't write Applebees and throw them under the bus for the shotty service. My friend actually told me this place was horrible for its service but I didn't believe it could be as bad as she said so I made her take me. She was right.

Sucky suck suck! Great food? I'm not sure since I wasn't served. I left after I saw everyone texting and chatting and not texting or chatting with me on what I wanted to drink and eat. BYE BYE

I've been here a few times for late night dining. The servers are super friendly and service always fast. A great crowd around the bat area to watch the broncos games, with tv views from every angle. I love their French onion soup, and their salads are always crisp. I love their croutons!

Thursday: Went in while waiting for my oil to get changed next door. I had an appetizer, drink and small dessert. The blended, spiked lemonades are bomb!!! The wonton tacos were cold but tasty. The dessert shooters are always good. Service was great! They just re-did the whole menu so I may have to mosey on back for dinner with friends. Friday: happened to be back in the area the very next day with my hubby. he was jealous of my great experience, so we went back. WOW what a change in a day... he hostess was this scowl faced little twit who obviously hated her life and/or job. We were sat in an area that was being served by a woman who had the personality of a wet mop. the server was so short, curt and RUDE! she was slamming stuff left and right and didnt refill waters or anything. I called a manager over to tell this whole story about the day before and all. he was so upset at my experience that he comped out ENTIRE meal and said that he was happy our perception of applebees had changed and asked that the poor hostess and server didnt spil that. great guy and great service from him!

I had the Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin. It was good, but the steak had alot of gristle around the edge. Something about when you go to Applebees you all ready expect the level of food you are going to get. Fairly decent food at a fairly decent price.

I eat here on a regular basis because my weekly lunch partner loves the soup and sandwich deal on the lunch menu. After many, many weeks in a row of nearly inedible food and really horrible service I've decided to drive an extra 10 miles out of my way to go to a different Applebees. Not only are the waitresses unavailable for drink refills, but a couple of the waitresses are downright surly.

We stopped in looking for a late night dessert on a sunday night and were nicely surprised to find that it was late happy hour with half price on certain appetizers. Ordered a vodka with pineapple and orange juice. it was a well made drink with a good little kick. I was confused as to why they charged extra for the other juice though, it wasn't a larger drink or more to it. We watched a silly movie they had playing and ordered the artichoke dip. It came hot and surrounded by a big serving of corn chips along with salsa. It was very creamy and fairly tasty but definitely reminded me of creamed spinach rather than dip. We also ordered French Onion soup. It came hot and melty, was pretty good. The broth could of been a little thicker but all in all good. Finally we ordered dessert, the Lava Cake with Ice Cream. Cake was warm and oozing chocolate when cut into, great with the ice cream and the added caramel and chocolate topping. Actually the chocolate topping was really good. Two of us ate some yummy things, I had one drink and watched a movie all for just under $20 bucks. It was a nice night out. Will definitely return.

Ordered Sirloin medium baked potato loaded no sour cream. As our waitress was not writing this down figured she worked in the industry long enough. Started to worry about my steak as 15 minutes had already passed. The person I was with ordered a similar steak but with shrimp. She said it comes with red potato's and he asked her do I have a choice as she said yes and offered baked, fries and so on he said baked load no sour cream. As they brought the food out I noticed sour cream... I ask the guy that delivered the food is that sour cream he said yea, like yea and. I said oh I didn't want sour cream so they took it back and brought it out without sour cream. No I am sorry more like it was my fault. Any way as I was eating my steak I noticed that it didn't really look like a steak. I continued to eat and the more I kept looking at it - it looked like fake meat like the McRib. We were charged for substituting red potatoes for a baked $1.49 Really! She said we had a choice not that there will be an additional charge. Needless to say Applebee's you suck and I doubt that I will go back. You have become worse over the years NOT A FAN anymore. This is not the first time I have had problems with this particular store I will not be back to that one.

Prompt, friendly staff. Little slow on refills but that is probably just the server. I wish that their "2 for $20" menu was REALLY 2 for $20....no matter what we seem to do, it always ends up being around $30. I'd rather they say "2 for $25" and include drinks. It's just stupidly annoying. But...just your regular Applebees. Where, despite different neighborhoods...they're pretty much all the same.

Went here for happy hour the other night, our server definitely needed more training. She didn't know about any of the happy hour deals, my friend saw on the menu it said all beer on tap is $3.00 so she ordered a fat tire after the waitress said she guesses it was the right price, she came back and said it was actually $4.00, that was fine because while she was gone we saw in TINY print on the menu it said that but she should've known the prices on ALL beer when she is asked. My friend also ordered mashed potatoes with a side of gravy, the waitress took the whole order, brought out the potatoes without gravy, we asked her to please bring some, a few minutes later she comes back and says they stopped serving all gravy a long time ago! Okay, mashed potatoes and NO gravy?! That's just not right! By now, all 3 of us were highly irritated. She would have ordered something else if she'd known it was just plain ol' taters. At the end of the meal, there was a ton of food left on one plate, so we asked for a box, thinking she would know what size by looking at the food left, we thought wrong, she brought the tiniest box they have to shove all the food in!!! If I go back to this location and I see her, I will go far far away. The drinks were terrific though, I had a few kinds of Sangria for $3.00 a pop :) Another downfall was we weren't even done drinking and she brought the ticket. Bummer! :) HAPPY HOUR means what to her exactly? They had trivia going on and everyone all around us was just drinking. We were not rude one bit either as I believe if you have the slightest attitude you WILL get your drinks and food spit in.

We were really surprised how good this place is. Waitstaff is great and the managers really seem to care and are on top of their game. Super family friendly, the managers gave out real pumpkins to the kids at Hallloween.

We have been coming here for years, and tonight we came in at 9:00 for a late Sat. night dinner, expecting the usual "Happy Hour" half-priced appetizers. It's a good thing I asked before ordering because there has been a change. Happy Hour prices are ONLY for those seated in the bar area, and our server offered to move my wife and I out of our comfortable booth, into the bar area, which is like a crowded bus station furnished with 10 ft. tall chairs and tables. That offer seemed less pleasant for us tea-drinking, retired folks, so we declined. She apologized, blaming the rule change on the new owner, a corporation called "Apples, Inc."?? This seemed unfair to me because considering that we had to shout at each other over all the rowdy noise coming from the bar area, which I calculated to be only a close fork-throw away from us, we might as well have been sitting in the half priced area anyway. My wife ordered a steak with "loaded mashed" potatoes, but she got plain mashed. She complained, but instead of replacing it, the server brought a set of condiment cups containing the bacon bits and other missing ingredients. I ordered a bacon cheddar cheeseburger (no onions) with a bowl of Green Chili instead of fries. It came with onions on the side, slapped atop my tomato and lettuce. Now if someone requests "no onions" on their burger, why would you serve the chili with coarsely chopped raw onions all over the top? They used to have really good green chili there, but I don't know whether they still do because I was served red chili, which was gross. There was a surprisingly large chunk of hamburger buried in the chili, with hamburger grease visibly floating atop the melted cheese and chopped onions. I asked whether the chili was red or green, and our server, looking relieved, confirmed that it was red. I didn't come there to debate, argue or haggle price, so I didn't. But I won't make the same mistake twice by ever returning to Applebee's, which is no longer a restaurant, but a bar.

She had no personality and seemed spacy! Bad customer service! Not to mention she asked for husbands ID and not mine! Really! Rude and no tip!!

So we have pretty much designated this as our favorite Applebee's. Tonight we dined around 6ish. We opted for the 3 sample appetizers and the new all-in burgers. We were greeted promptly and we're informed who our server would be. Our service e was prompt and efficient. We both enjoyed our meals, and our server (Brie) was attentive to our needs without being bothersome. The only negative during our experience was a particular server that was complaining about this and that during our entire meal. Overall this is one of the more solid "chains" we go to. We recommend this place.

This review is intended to improve the overall quality of a restaurant that lacks solid leadership: Aside from our waitress, whom gave exceptional service, I left with a bad taste in my mouth. In this establishment they have booth seating adjacent to the bar area. My date and I were seated in the booth section where we clearly and distinctly over heard the shift manager(blonde, 6'2", heavyset, with food mess on his shirt) say to a table in the bar, "we have a new cook in training, it took him 3 tries to get it right, here's your meal, let me know what you think." I believe anyone belittling their staff to guest or at all for that matter should have serious consequences. Not only that, when the manager left the table the man looked his plate over very thoroughly before digging in. Sparking any amount of skepticism at a table is a complete failure period. No one wants to be a test subject or guinea pig. Anyone reading this can attest to that fact. By doing so, he has effectively conveyed, "This establishment is hit or miss" I have generously rated this restaurant 2 stars for the unprofessional, and inconsiderate actions of the managing staff. My hope is that this review reaches the appropriate people to make corrections according. I'm a 27 yr old male, young professional from Houston, Texas.

We ordered the mix and match appetizers with the brisket nachos and saracha shrimp. The shrimp were good. The nachos were horrible. Mostly just chips with nothing on them. A few had some cold unmelted cheese. Hardly any "brisket" I asked our waitress for some salsa because we had so many chips with nothing on them. She said "everyone says that" so maybe they should be rethinking that dish????

I don't normally write reviews about places like Applebee's. What is there to say that hasn't already been said? Well, I feel like I need to say something after my last visit. I went for dinner last night with my brother. We are poor and we had a gift card. Since we don't have a lot of dough between us, going out to dinner is usually sort of special. The service at this Applebee's was so terrible and I'm fairly upset about it ruining our one night out. To start off, we waited in the lobby area for a couple of minutes before anyone came to greet us. This ALWAYS happens when I go to this Applebee's and I always bet whoever I'm with that we won't be greeted promptly. I can overlook this because the way the waiting area is set up it makes it hard for someone to see guests waiting, but I think the staff could improve here. So, when we sat down our waitress was a bit strange. She kept referring to me as my brother's "lady" which was presumptive and gross. She brought us our drinks and that was fine and we ordered an appetizer, which was spicy. So we drank our teas pretty quickly and it took her forever to bring us more. I get seriously annoyed at restaurants when other servers walk by tables and ignore them when there are things like empty glasses and plates that need refilled and/or bussed. Sure, it isn't your table, but how hard is it to grab an empty queso dish? It's not. When our waitress finally brought us more tea she sort of apologized for it taking so long, but then she didn't do anything to redeem herself. After we finished our meal we sat for a good 10-15 minutes with empty plates in front of us and no sign of our waitress. Other servers walked by and just sort of ignored we were there. When she finally dropped off our check she didn't return for another ridiculously long time and we were basically trapped in our booth. It was so uncomfortable. Esoecially since the tables around us were being served much quicker by the other waitstaff. The only really nice person we encountered was the manager (I think?) who brought our appetizer. She had a personality and she smiled and was genuinely nice. Our waitress couldn't care less that we were there and the other staff was so indifferent I wanted to leave. I am not the type of person to complain to a manager, but I seriously wanted to last night. Our food was great. I'm just seriously diappointed in the service. Our waitress was pregnant and I'm sure she was tired, and I feel bad. But it wasn't just her. One of the other waitresses leaned against the booth behind us and was chatting with that table (very loudly) about things I really didn't want to know about--possive boyfriends, probation, etc. Ugh. I'm just so annoyed. I am going to avoid this place from now on, which is disappointing because the bar is really chill and I've had good service in there before.

At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
