Been going for over a year and has yet to disappoint me. The staff is very nice and the food amount is generous. While you wait for the food you can get free salsa and chips which are really fresh and nice. Plus we wanted to tip them but they nicely refused for us to do so and that all we had to do was continue visiting. Take-out is nice as well. You can still enjoy their chips and salsa because they will provide a bag of chips for you to take with you. For their food, it's filled with goodness. My usual is a burrito with Al Pastor Meat Their meat, juicy and tender and everything comes together nicely. Their rice and beans don't have a strong flavor (which is fine with me because I'm not a fan of beans) so it gives a nice texture to the food. Also the size of their portions is well worth the money. It's not even that expensive in my book. Hats off to this place and if you enjoy Mexican food, this is place is a must!

I have been here twice. The first time, I ordered a bean and cheese burrito + pineapple agua. Both were good! Free chips and salsa were good as well. Second time, ordered a shrimp cocktail and jaiba tostada (picture included). I also tried the strawberry agua which was yummy! My fiancé ordered an asada burrito which he thought was pretty dry and the meat was chewy. The shrimp cocktail was a little thicker than other places but still good. The jaiba was really really lemony, so if you don't like it too sour then it's probably not a good choice for you. I like that they give you jaiba on a tostada + extra tostadas as well. The chips and salsa weren't as good the second time around but I still really like this place. I'll be back!

Great food, and love the salsa bar!!! The tacos, burritos, and enchiladas are amazing..... The only one thing that was sad to disappoint was the Tamale.. .. I ordered the tamale and enchilada plate, when I first opened it I thought they accidentally gave me two enchiladas.... After biting into it I realized that it wasn't an enchilada but a tamale. It was convered in the same cheese and sauce they used for the enchilada. Very confusing and the tamale was dry, which led me to believe the sauce was placed on top to cover the dryness of the tamale.... I would recommend everything else but the tamales!!

Okay this little "hole in the wall" location is one of the gems that I love finding in Southern California. I was a little worried when I pulled into the parking lot (which is very small and was very full) but the food was excellent and the interior was very comfortable. (Their chips and thick and taste like they are home made.) Highly recommend this location for excellent authentic Mexican food.

I have not gone to Mikasa personally. I had the pleasure of trying some of their food outside a warehouse! I went to Frank and Sons collectible show on a Saturday at their warehouse in the City of Industry, CA. Mikasa had a little booth set up right outside the main entrance There were a couple of chairs & tables provided. They had a condiment bar with all the toppings needed for their tacos. I stopped by their booth twice during the day. The first time, I bought a Al Pastor soft taco and a Potato taco. The al pastor meat was soft and tender, and tasted really good with the tortilla. The Potato taco tasted awesome! The shell was tasty and crispy. Good chunk of potato inside the shell was yummy! The second visit, I bought another potato taco. Tried the Chicken Flauta also. It was really good too! To summarize: Al Pastor soft taco ($1.00) 4 stars Chicken Flauta ($2.00) 4 stars Potato Taco ($1.00) 5 stars Cannot wait to return to Frank & Sons so I can stop by this food booth again! Yummy food! Affordable prices!! Good service! Will have to visit their restaurant one of these days! It hope that it is even better than their spot outside Frank & Sons warehouse on Saturdays!

Finally excellente Mexican food fresh from the border (of Rowland Heights and Walnut)! These guys are awesome! Free chips and salsa bar with a plethora of drinks and salsas. *ORANGE* SALSA IS A MUST! Its got a spicy and smokey Chipotle kick to it that's usually not made in such a large quantity for free! Service - this gave them the 5 star. They made recommendations after my second helping of that delicious orange salsa. They also suggested their avocado salsa which is even better. It was unavailable when I first walked in but all in the time that they apologized for running out, they handed me a fresh serving about mid-meal, made right on the spot and to my table. That's what most places won't do and that's why they deserve 5 stars. Overall Taste - Order the al pastor, it's made perfectly. Tried it clasico with rice, shredded lettuce, sour cream, topped with red sauce and a great helping of melted cheese with a serving easily made for 2. Ambiance - I can see large parties there. With large TV screens at every angle. The place has mostly booths and a family feel to it. The place is big but looks small on the outside. They are also the food stand outside of Frank and Sons which explains their collection of autographed menus from famous athletes mounted on the walls. Price - fair for the size. $7.75 for a burrito the width of your manly hands and awesome salsa, I'd come back for sure.

There's a reason why people say mexi-CAN! The place is the best hole in the wall mexican restaurant I've ever been to. I always get the carne asada quesadilla and I cry a little every time bc it is done soooooo right. Packed with butter cheese and a generous portion of carne asada, topped with a heaping scoop of fresh guac. The quesadilla is a halfmoon about 13" end-to-end! The AYCE fresh chips (lite, thin, crispy, warm) and salsa bar is amazing too! The parking is horrible, but it's worth parking a block away for. Trust me.

Their tacos seems to taste better than the carne Asada burrito I had from here last time. It barely had any meat, it was all beans and rice, and super super salty -.- I was very unhappy! So I have yet to come back for more burritos. Idk but they lady didn't ask if I wanted all meat or mix. She also didn't let me know I can do green sauce for the wet burrito. I don't appreciate that type of customer service, I felt like I had a hard time communicating to her because I didn't speak Spanish -.- I did have some tacos togo, which was good! Gave us lots of meat, good size tacos. I really like their chips and salsa! Their chips are delish super fresh and warm! Hopefully next time will be a better experience with the burrito and customer service!

Great Lenten Lunch! I ordered shrimp tostada with cut tomatoes, onions, and lots of slices of fresh avocado plus 2 limes & tostada shells delicious!! My boyfriend had fish tacos on soft tortillas. Plus a chip bar with lots of salsas! I Horchata all you can drink and other juices as well. It's great lots of tables and to ring for A+

$1.99 per taco? They look good, but that price is ridiculous- I'll be back when it's closer to $1. They changed their hours, and are open until 8pm on Fridays now

Service sucks. They don't have enough man power to handle clients. Food quality so so . And over priced

I like this place. My buddy Ryan introduced me to this place a long time ago, during one of my 'unemployment' episodes (gee thanks Game Industry! lol). The food is quite good, and prices are cheap. Best of all, agua frescas are ALL YOU CA DRINK! This is the first place I got to try Jamaica (ha-my-cah) which is a hibiscus iced tea. Since then, the next time I drank jamaica was when I met my wife, lol! I've had the milanesa, and the burritos. I took my wife and my in-laws her this past weekend and they enjoyed themselves with camarones. My wife enjoyed her fried fish. I had a cheese quesadilla and a carne asada burrito platter (yes I was hungry). The chips are AYCE and there's a decent sized salsa bar next to it. Did I mention the agua frescas are AYC-Drink? There's horchata there too on the AYC-Drink dispenser. An odd thing about them being closed... When we got there, their 'Closed' sign was up. But apparently they were still open since they let us come right in.

I've been coming here since highschool (~10 years ago). Mikasa was the best and I still consider it one of the best Mexican restaurants in Walnut. When I walked in today, I noticed that they changed their menu. Everything was more expensive now and there wasn't many choices either. For example, they only offer the basic meats, no cabeza, lengua, tripa, etc. Another gripe was their raised prices and weird pricing. Why are all tacos $1.99 even shrimp & fish. All combinations are $7.99 so if you get the 2 taco combo (~$3.99) you'll be paying an additional $3.99 for some rice, beans and salad; drink not included. Wait, what? I ordered 3 carne asada tacos, 2 fish tacos and a shrimp cocktail. To be fair, their carne asada tacos did appear to be larger than other places charging less and the taste was okay. The fish tacos however were really disappointing. They were super breaded and thin. The breading made up about 30% of the thin fish filet and it was a panko type of breading, not good at all. Shrimp cocktail was alright. Shrimps were smaller than average, amount of shrimp also lacking, and for $10.99, not worth it. Their juice bar looks worth giving a try, but with all the cold-pressed juiceries coming out for the same price, juices here would be worth it for a convenience factor. Their chips & salsa bar and wide array of agua frescas however takes the real show here. They have many different salsas and condiments, all you can grab chips, and if you're lucky enough, all the roasted yellow peppers you want. Overall, the pros and cons make this place pretty average. I'd come back just for the agua frescas (free refills btw)

Great food!!!! Prices are a bit much but when you want good Mexican food, why not? They totally had me at free chips and salsa.

Great Mexican food. I ordered the chicken burrito with guacamole and sour cream. The meat taste superb. My only little tiny small complaint is that the tortilla needed to be cook just a little longer. I give this restaurant a 4.7. Plus it's got glass bottle Mexican cokes. It's one of the few spots in the area if your on foot walking from a mechanic shop. I hiked it up 1.5 miles to eat here, and it worth it. I am satisfied with this place. Thumbs up.

This place has GREAT QUALITY FOOD. It's authentic and super delicious with GREAT prices! Service was awesome everyone was so nice. Portions are huge, I shared a combination plate with my hubby and it was perfect :) they also have a chips and salsa bar. They had 4 different salsas to choose from and were all fresh and all so amazing. I live in Northridge (an hour away) and I definitely am willing to come back. Please try this place! Btw the horchata is probably the best I've had.

They have a B!!!!!! :( The only reason why I had to give this place a 4 out of 5. * On a positive note, the restaurant has gotten a lot cleaner since the last time I came. The seats used to be all torn and disgusting. It's been a while since I've been there and I'm glad it I went when I did! My boyfriend and I felt as if they're really working on fixing this restaurant up, which I'm so happy about because I think they're the best Mexican restaurant in Walnut!! They also switched their hours and are open later now :) As soon as we got inside we were greeted by a worker. She was very nice and also went out of her way to give us a quick overview of their different sauces! We went crazy with all the sauces, got ourselves a bowl of tortillas, and snacked until our food came out. I ordered the supreme burrito with green sauce. My boyfriend ordered an al pastor burrito. Both our foods were pretty good. Not the best I've ever had, but the best I've had in Walnut! My supreme burrito was ginormous. I was pretty surprised I was able to finish it! My boyfriend loved his al pastor burrito and thought it was delicious!

second time i visit. Great fresh fruit water spread. horchata, jamaica (hibiscus), mango, etc. Their tamale and taco combo was good as well as their enchilada and chile relleno combo. Price is fair, service is friendly and atmosphere charming. Get their before the herds get in for lunch, if not then the wait is long and it gets loud. We will be back.

The best authentic Mexican restaurants around! They are so friendly and everything I have ordered has been amazing! I especially love the street tacos and pork tamales! Even carne asada salad is amazing and fresh!

Everything on the menu is so fresh and delicious and not greasy or oily. Their guacamole is so good. The prices are so affordable. Today I had the camarones al mojo de ajo (garlic butterfly shrimp ) yum yum yum! Must also try their bionicos and mangoladas! So good.

This is as real as it gets. The food was QUALITY! I got the Classic Burrito (which was bigger than my freakin head) and it blew my taste buds away. Not to mention the free refills on all the aqua frescas. Not only do they have the basic aquas but they also have a BUTT LOAD of FRESH FRUIT JUICE! Best part of this place was the service though...Francisco is THE MAN!

    (5)
  • Don N.

They have the best chicken taco salad around...the taco shell is crunchy but not super oily & the chicken is always tender and flavorful. It comes with some guacamole & ranch dressing. Also, their free tortilla chips and salsa bar [3 types (house if full of green onions & tomatoes) plus radishes & roasted yellow chiles] are great! The only thing is there's not a lot of parking. It's usually not a problem. Only once during a busy weekday lunch that we had to park in the back behind the restaurant.

best Mexican restaurant around (Osuna's & Mayan Tacos can suck-it!) get the torta or burrito (or deluxe burrito if you like it topped with Enchilada sauce and chesse) carne asada is always good, good selection of aguas frescas and bottled sodas (Coke, Jarritos, Fanta imported from Mexico) best thing about this place: Taco Nights! Friday and Saturday it's like 5-10 and Sunday it's 4-9, it's set-up like taco-truck style and they're making tacos, burritos, quesadillas, flautas , all outside and made-to-order, $1 tacos, $4 burritos, $2 bottled imported sodas, $3 imported beer, and it's super chill the guy making the food is really nice and so are everyone else who's working there too, great environment super laid-back, pretty much the greatest thing to happen to Walnut ever ...so they stopped doing taco nights :(

Great food, reasonably priced and great services! Everyone is friendly and all say thank you to their customers. It gets busy around lunch time but that's just a testament to the good food and friendly welcoming service. I tried their Flan today, best I've ever had! Thank you to everyone at Mikasa!

This place is just average. The service was okay. The food was just okay. I had beef enchiladas at $8 for the quality was pricey. The enchilada sauce seemed like it was from a can. It was pretty bland, the shredded beef was good, their beans were okay and the rice tasted stale. The upside were the free chips and salsa but I don't really eat that. It was a very quiet restaurant which I appreciated but maybe it was a bad thing for a 2 pm lunch. I was the only customer. I'm still left searching for a decent Mexican restaurant in this area.

$5 Tortas! I got the pollo asado torta, which was big, toasted bread, guac inside, yum! I got the refillable aguas frescas, it was pretty sweet... the horchata and aguas fresas were good because they have free refills. I would like to try a bionico next time. The plated dishes looked really good, gonna go back to try the chiliquiles and machaca because they looked bomb. Pretty excited to find a good Mexican place in Walnut, but I am from SD... so it's hard to give it more than 3-stars!

I've eaten here about 3 times. Every time I've attempted to eat here after that, they have been closed, during business hours whether it's a weekday or a weekend. I don't know how they are still in business, with that being said I will never try to come here again. Even though it says they are open on yelp, that's a complete lie. If I could leave no stars I would.

  • philip s.

Don't pay any attention to the negative reviews. The food is homemade. This place is the REAL THING. Based on only 1 trip..........4 stars is for starters but after a couple of more visits........it'll go up to 5 stars. Homemade menudo, salsas and fruit juices. The place is clean (and that includes the bathrooms ladies). The ambiance is kind of cheesy but it adds to the experience. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood.......you won't be sorry.

  • Irene C.

This place is soooo good! I got seviche & my friends got beef tacos & a carne asada burrito and both were good too! The ladies are all very nice & friendly and.... FREE CHIPS AND SALSA!

  • Mary S.

OMG, their torta was huge! ( yes that's what I said..) for $ 5 it's a great value. Actually their prices are reasonable for the portions you get. I ordered carne asada torta, meat a bit dry may need to try a different meat next time. Love the chips and salsa bar and their different drinks ( jamaica, horchata, tamarindo, etc.. ) only place I can get so many options..

  • Yvette M.

First time going, went during my lunch break. For a lunch hour it was totally empty, only one other person in there. It was super clean and a nice display of the juice bar, chips bar and lots of agua fresca options. The lady that helped us was soo nice and so was the juice bar lady. The food was good only complaint was the rice was a little bland. But I am picky with my rice anyways, especially traditional Mexican rice so it could just be me. The enchiladas were good and side portions were big. The strawberry smoothie was GREAT!! Real strawberries and loaded with them! Prices were very reasonable. Enchilada plate with large horchata was less than $12

This place is truly a hidden gem! Literally! It's really easy to pass by.. I NEVER would have come here if it wasn't word of mouth... I've driven past it many many times and never once did I ever think to eat here. BUT a HUGE problem with their place is their hours... They close so early! I came here on Thursday to have dinner at 6pm and they were closing up? Their hours say they close at 7pm. So we even asked what time they closed today and they too said at 7pm... It was 6pm but we didn't chose to argue or ask them if their clocks were too fast? lol And to make it worse, they close at 3pm on weekends! What the hell man! LOL If you are able to make it here with their funky hours, their food is pretty good. Their tortas are bomb and HUGE! I couldn't finish mine and I can eat... And for $5? Sweet! Their other menu items are good too, like tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. I wouldn't recommend their al pastor though, I didn't care for it. another big reason why I love this place is for their aguas frescas!!! The cantaloupe is so damn delicious! Along with their strawberry, watermelon, mixed fruit and pineapple. I don't care for their jaimica or horchata but you be the judge. But also, they are free refills and located in the dinning area so you can self serve! AWESOME!!! They also provide a free chip and salsa bar, with about 5 different salsas! I honestly haven't been to another mexican restaurant that provides what I just listed. Huge plus in my books I would give this place a 5 star if it wasn't for their hours. Great place for lunch, but good luck trying to eat here for dinner.

This area has a shortage of good Mexican restaurants and that's where Mikasa comes in handy. Its a small restaurant, perfect for a lunch getaway. Really fast service. Order in the front, Serve your own drinks, which include all aguas frescas! I love their salsa bar. Serve your own chips and salsa. They have a variety of flavors. I usually order a combination plate or a carne asada burrito plate. For under $10 you can get a carne asada burrito, salad, rice, beans and a drink. I can't finish this plate I always end up taking half of the burrito home but you can't complain about the price. They also sell alcohol.

I ate here for dinner tonight, and OMG i definitely left satisfied. It was my first time going, and I'm a questioner, so I asked the cashier what's good. He politely and patiently gave me his input. Great service, the waiter was smiley and friendly :) The store closes at 7pm, but we ate there till about 7:30ish. We weren't rushed at all. Overall, greaaat customer service! I ordered a taco salad. (Posted picture in album) One of the best taco salads that i've ever eaten. I highly recommend it. The chicken was grilled, so it was cooked healthy, but it wasn't dry at all, deliciouss!!! The chicken was better than the chicken that they put in their regular tacos. Taco salad comes with mainly lettuce and chicken in the yummy crunchy shell. I'm a simple eater, so I liked that there wasn't too much beans, onions, tomato, and cheese; there was just enough to make it tasty. Comes with ranch, sour cream, and guacamole on the side, so you can add as much as you want. I'm definitely coming back for this! Free chips & salsa bar :) Definitely felt at home at Mikasa Restaurant, hehe pun intended!

This place is okay. I have never eaten at a Mexican place that has had me yearning for more, and I continue to search for such a place. Maybe I just don't like Mexican food that much.

  • George K.

I have been eating here for years and find it to be the best Mexican restaurant that nobody knows about. The service is always fast and delivered with a smile. I recommend the torts and chicken quesadillas. The salsa bar is alway well stocked and has the best salsa selection around. They also have a great selection of Jamaica and other fruit and melon drinks. I highly recommend this small but enjoyable restaurant.

    (5)
  • Erin W.

I've been here a handful of times and the only thing I can recommend is the salsa (chips and salsa bar). Some of the best salsa I've had! Before, I would have recommended the aguas frescas too (free refills!) but last time I went they were sweet sweet sweet! Yuck! As far as the food goes, I have not had anything that amazed me. Also, when I went last time, my friend said the sauce on her food was extremely salty. They also close at 7 on weekdays--who does that?! Not going to bring any more friends here or else they might question my tastebuds.

So I was looking to try a different Mexican restaurant nearby my workplace for my lunch break and this one was conveniently about a block and a half down further from Mayan Tacos. I saw all the 4- and 5-star reviews so it's got to be at least decent, right? Yep, after trying out their Steak Picado Plate, I can at least say that it is decent Mexican food. Granted, the casher gal messed up the credit card transaction on my first day there and charged me $96.86 instead of $9.68 but that's ok. I'll forgive that. Francisco, (the manager maybe?), voided that transaction and corrected the accidental charge fairly quickly. I didn't know that buying a drink was an additional cost so that's one thing to keep in mind for those of you who've read the earlier reviews that said that "drinks were free" when you order a plate of whatever dish they have. I just asked for ice water and that's free for sure. The steak meat was cooked just right. Just the right amount of toughness and chewy texture. The tomato sauce that it was swimming in was of a light tomato flavor. I think it complemented the natural meat flavor of the steak. There were also diced green bell peppers, red bell peppers, and onions as well as rice and re-fried beans. The veggies were a bit soggy by the time I got to them as I was devouring the yummy meat but that's ok. The Steak Picado came with a small salad of diced tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant, and carrots with ranch sauce. Nothing special here. It tastes as it should so no complaints. You also get a choice of two warmed up flour or corn tortillas. The Steak Picado was $8.99 plus tax. One last thing, there is a minimum that you need to spend in order to use a credit card and that minimum is $6.50. Thankfully, most plates on the menu are $6.99 and above so you need not worry if you plan on ordering one of the plates. However, if you plan on ordering, say, the burritos ($3.50-$5.50), tortas ($5), tacos ($2), nachos ($5.50), and stuff like that by themselves, they fall just shy of $6.50 minimum. For the most bang for your buck, you might as well just order one of the plates. They give big portions and you also get unlimited salsa and chips at the salsa bar. And if you can't finish your plate, you can always get a box to-go. I believe their tacos are $2 each, which is pricey for a taco. Maybe I've been spoiled by the $1 taco stands and taco trucks back in East LA but I would not pay $2 for a taco unless it's something really special. All in all, I recommend this place and will be back to try out their other plates.

    (4)
  • Paul H.

Decent Mexican food. Nothing special. The salsa bar is good but they give you tiny plates to put salsa in so you have to keep going back. Looking back, I guess I could have taken my whole entree plate up and put the salsa on that.

At first I thought it was an odd sounding Mexican restaurant (wary of a strange fusion of Mexican and Japanese cuisines) but have no fear-this place makes awesome home-made Mexican food. On the advice of my guide, the Chile Verde was recommended. The huge burrito was wrapped in a soft flour tortilla filled with a heap of luscious, tender pork chunks in a mild but flavorful green Tomatilla sauce. The large flour wrap could barely contain all the filling, and every bite was devoured. The salsas also had the right amount of spice and freshly fried tortilla chips topped me off. They also have refreshing aguas frescas with Free (!) refills. Everything tastes fresh and home-made, full of flavor. It's a small little place, but a local favorite for nearby workers and those in the know.

its cheap and great. the only downside is their location. I Mean, its next to car repair shops. I'm sure if it was in a more open area, people would notice them and leave great reviews for them. Its really only through word of mouth that anyone would know this place existed. their burritos are so good and amazingly huge for their price. I usually have to share one. Great service from this place. unlimited chips and salsa too.

really good mexican restaraunt kinda in the middle of nowhere. everything i got from there was decent. i read all the 5 star reviews and kinda went in with too high of expectations! don't get me wrong you wont leave here disappointed but it isn't the best i've had.

If you want good mexican food with that's never too busy and it's close to home, this is the place to go. They have a variety of dishes to choose from. I love the rice and beans. When I throw a carne asada party at my home, I usually order that. It's very good and it's not expensive.

A really good place for a casual quick bite. The food is always fresh and the servings are huge. I have tried their burrito which is served wet burrito style, with plenty of melted cheese and a delicious red sauce slathered all over the ginormous burrito. The meats are always flavorful, and their carne asada is top notch as well, cooked just perfect and very flavorful. Not to mention free chips and awesome salsa.

This place has gone downhill lately. While it has never been in a good location, it now has raised the prices of their food, and reduced the quality of it. I used to love this place because it was pretty good mexican food for a cheap price and quick service. I hope they can pick up the quality, lower the prices and get back to basics soon!

Authentic mexican food. This place can be summed up in one word, "FRESH". They have the worlds best ceviche, the flavor is unbelievable and they pile it high into a large to go box!! It's mexican sushi......BOMB!!!

You can taste that they have the freshest and unfrozen ingredients and it's always really clean. Their fruit drinks and salsa bar selections are the biggest I've seen out of Mexico. Plus, you can't completely enjoy a mexican feast without a cerveza. They have several beers to choose from. I finally tried their Bionico. It's very filling but a yummy way to eat your fruit. My Brother suggested to Pancho that he add a Torta Ahogada to his menu. One day, he surprised us with one and it's still not on the menu but he still will make it for the asking and it's my favorite thing to order for lunch or dinner. Whenever they serve it to me people turn their heads and ask me what it is. It's never crowded probably because this has to be this town's biggest secret & it's SO EASY to pass it & just keep on going. If you pass it, just make right turns around their block and give it another go. The owner Francisco a.k.a. "Pancho" is surprisingly almost always there seeing that everything is always perfect and checking on guests. He has a friendly and solid crew helping and often has his family helping too. I'm coming back tomorrow!

The food is good. The asada has taste. The chips is good but the salsa container is like a small saucer so it isnt that good for dipping.

One of the most casual/clean join to have some quite splendid Mexican cuisine. Nothing fancy about the setting, but purely attracted me with their delicious foods. If you the type of person loves hearty mean, this is the Must Go please. Freshly made food with great portion, unlimited salsa, drink refills. I Love it! The only thing I don't like is they close to early~.~ around 6pm to 6:30pm... Come on...

Hands down, the best restaurant in Walnut. In terms of customer service, value of food, ingredients, TASTE; Mikasa rules in all categories. They are by far the best, most authentic Mexican restaurant in Walnut. As anybody familiar with the demographics of Walnut would expect, Walnut isn't exactly an hotbed of Mexican restaurants or anything in general but I love this place compared to its competitors in the area. Awesome menu full of variety, very decent prices (massive combinations priced at 6.99), self serve agua frescas and all you can eat chips and salsa. The agua frescas and chips/salsa bar really put it over the top. First of all, I don't know any other restaurants (fastfood or sit down) that offer all you can drink agua frescas. Not only that, there are usually about five different flavors to choose from. Then the awesome salsa bar with four different salsas and chips. I have to be careful not to eat too many chips since the salsas are so good.

I just went there for lunch on a Yelp recommendation because I was craving a wet burrito. I ordered the shredded beef burrito. The meal came with rice and beans. I thought the price was high for this kind of place. $8.77? I could have paid that at Rubios and Rubios is better and I don't care for overpriced Rubios. The taste was just so so. I will admit the green salsa was great with a nice garlic kick. You can serve yourself some chips which imho were very dry and not to authentic chip standard. So this time yelp let me down and how do I know this... I would probably not go here again.

GOOD: Clean, delicious, authentic, friendly, inexpensive and no after meal runs. BAD: Neighborhood. I will only do lunch there. FAV: Free Chips and Salsa bar Strawberry Agua Fresca Beef Tacos

New to the area and I thought I found go good place to eat. They offer lots of different drinks (aquas frescas) and a variety of salsas. Their wall has alot of different Mexican dishes. My forth time I went it was late in the evening and the workers seemed bored. I asked for the carne asada burrito and the meat looked a little funny. Being hungry and working all day I ate it and got sick that night. We can assume a bunch of senerios. I might give a chance. Viva la Raza.

Stumbled on this place while getting some work done on my car at a near by shop. At first sight I thought this place was a japanese sushi joint so I was walking it pass it to find something else to eat then noticed the all you can eat chips and salsa and was WTF!?!?!?!?! This is an authentic Mexican place with some homemade food and fresh fruit juices. They spell the name MIKASA which is a cool way to say Mi Casa I guess. I had the posole and it was great not to salty or spicy with some homemade tortillas and oh yeah with some of those chips and salsa as well. Also try the fresh juices before you leave. I had the watermelon and it was a great refreshing drink after the posole!

Me...I love the chips...their breakfasts and their good burritos... The people are very nice.. The parking lot is rather small...buy it's still a good place..

Huevos Rancheros was obviously made with Cambel's Tomato Soup. The salsa cruda tasted fishy; as if the cooks poured the reserves from the ceviche in it.

Its the best Mexican food around. Great tasting, big portions, chips and salsa bar is fresh and fruit drinks is great. Burritos and nachos are so huge and its only $6.50 amazing ! Location is hard to find, you need to make a U-turn if your going east of Valley. The service is good serves food with a smile. Don't be scared outside of the place, its the food and fruit drinks that makes this restaurant a 5 !

Have been coming here for the last 6 months or so. I live less than a mile away but barely started to come here, needless to say I come here maybe 2-3x a week now. Great food, very authentic, GREAT PRICES! I always call for pickup and they always have my food ready within 15 minutes or so. Their salsa bar is awesome, they are all so damn good. Their agua frescas are all fresh and tasty as well, they have a huge selection. Will recommend to anyone craving some authentic mexican food.

I got the chicken tostada and the chicken was grilled and seasoned perfectly :) Most Mexican fast food joints don't put that much effort into the flavoring the chicken and making sure its not dry (at least the places I have been to. They also have a salsa bar, yum.

Yum, yum, yum, is all I have to say. They have the best selections of "aguas" I have ever seen and the self-serve aspect is fab. I had a quesadilla which was very cheesy and good quality Mexican cheese. My son had the ginormous steak burrito, hubby had the carnitas burrito and he loved the cheese in his burrito. The rice and beans were just eh. Nothing close to my moms or grandmas. The decor was cute and welcoming with flat screens everywhere to watch you fave soccer game. The service was prompt and friendly and 4 of us ate for 20 bucks. Head on over for some good food to fill your belly!

I love this place! Especially on a hot summer day. They have the best water drinks...usually they have agua de melon, pina, all sorts! Although it is a whole in the wall, it is definitely a place that is never too busy and always has the freshest food. The restaurant is clean and the staff are very helpful. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the hours the restaurant is open. Unfortunately it closes at 3pm on Sundays. I would definitely recommend this place if you're craving Mexican food!

Read all the positive reviews about this place, so I've decided to check it out. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find, had to double-back twice to find it. Service was good, and they have a salsa bar with chips that aren't stale, which is surprising considering that they're just sitting there. Then again, it's probably because I was there for lunch, so they're freshly made. Food portion is humongous! The ingredients all taste fresh, but my lunch cost me close to $15, which I think is a bit much. Had a lunch plate and a side of regular beans instead of re-fried beans, and a drink. If the price was more reasonable, I might have given it a 5 star. Then again, that's probably because their menu is not priced, so you really don't know how much you're eating. I'd come back again, and I'm sure I won't be spending that much for lunch the next time around.

The service here is pretty fast. They do their best to get your food out fast. In the meantime, you can always eat chips and salsa. I believe the salsas to be fresh and really good. I usually get the largest burrito and share it with my fiance. I don't think the quality of meat is grade A but it's still really good and really affordable. I don't think I have ever been disappointed with the food. If you get a burrito, ask for the red sauce. It's really tasty and adds a little kick to the flavor. Parking is horrible. The young adults at our church all came here for lunch one day and some had to park a block away from the restaurant. Parking isn't good for groups, but the restaurant itself is.

Read all the rave reviews on Yelp and convinced my boyfriend to try it...I wish I hadn't! The neighborhood is not that nice, but was willing to look past that in order to get some good yummy food...the "carnitas" I ordered looked like they were leftovers from someones pork chop lunch and the chile colorado was made with shredded beef not cubed so this makes me think they used something leftover from somthing else. Yes, the chips and salsa are free but the salsa container they give you to use was the size of a sushi soy sauce bowl and the lady behind the counter gave me a dirty look when I asked for something bigger. Left the restaurant still hungry and $45 poorer...I am so surprised at these positive reviews - this place is horrible!

Amazing Mexican food. Their chicken is on point, soft and very flavorful. They have an assortment of different salsas to go along with there Chips and Salsa Bar. From there burritos to there Taco Salads you will not be disappointed. Huge portions and good prices too!

The food is good, but nothing special for Mexican food. I live close so my wife & I come by somewhat regularly. If you like salsa, their salsa bar is where it's at. They also have a nice selection of Aguas Frescas, fresh fruit juices. If you're coming for breakfast, I recommend the chilaquiles; If your coming for lunch I recommend the shrimp cocktail; and if you're coming for dinner I recommend getting one of their combo plates.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
