We never go out for Italian in California and come home happy so wasn't expecting much this time around- but we had a gift card so gave it a shot- so glad we did! The service was so excellent. The waiter was top shelf all the way. Professional, courteous, met our needs before we anticipated needing them. Food was good- great. We had 16 layer lasagne, shrimp and chicken pasta, two pizzas and tiramisu. Everything nicely done- not my Italian mother-in-laws great, but not terrible either. My biggest complaint would have been the tiramisu- lady fingers were far too soaked making them soggy and distracting any flavor from the rest of the dessert. Still- a good place to go for Italian chain food.

Julie was great! Suggested a few other pizzas cuz I wasn't impressed with the cilantro chicken pizza. Minestrone soup was awesome!

I have been here many times and in many different ways. I've been here for a company party, for a romantic date, and for a family dinner. When I came here for my company event they gave us our own area to sit in and we had a different menu to order from. We had about 25 people and they provided us with two waiters. If we wanted alcohol we had to go to the bar since our boss wasn't buying. ( he was pretty cheap lol). The night was great and the food was yummy. When I came here on a date we had a table for two and they have us the perfect amount of privacy. We had good service without having and overbearing waitress asking if we needed anything all the time. My family likes to come here every now and then. We normally have a pretty good wait for a table to fit us all but it is worth it. The food is good and the service is great. The drinks are made perfectly and I've never had a complaint with anything here.

The hardest thing about submitting this review is that the floor staff was extremely nice and the manager comped us a free desert. However, for an authentic Italian experience, Johnny Carino's missed the mark. The general atmosphere was more of a bar feeling than a true Italian experience. The prices reflected a fine dining establishment which confused me because the food served was very generic and plain. The chicken I ordered was beyond dry, I felt that the food served was something that I should see at Chilies or Applebee's. The cups were plastic, the bread served in a tray designed for a BBQ joint or a bar. Given my prior statement feeling like I was in a bar rather than an Italian Restaurant, the photo I am uploading reflects the general cleanliness of the establishment. Very similar to a bar as well. This review is not an attempt to down the Johnny Carino's chain, I have been to Carino's around the country and have had completely different experiences. I hope that this Carino's will one day give the High Desert what it truly deserves. True Competition to Olive Garden because our restaurant choices are few.

Did the curbside dining and ordered the family Shrimp Scampi with two orders of cheese Ravioli. Service was fine but the food was terrible. No seasoning on the Shrimp Scampi and the portion was very small for $35.00. The Cheese Ravioli was bland as well, almost no sauce! Our Bill was over $70.00 and we didnt eat well. Wow, very disappointing.... To be fair I had to update my review, we called and spoke to Earnie and he apologized for the food, refunded our money and gave us a few discounts for a return visit. Well done Earnie and thank you!

Service was great, food was mediocre. I had Johnny's Special which included lasagna, chicken parmesan, and spaghetti. The food came or fast, but the red sauce was not pleasant. My friend had a skilletini and said his was totally forgettable as well. The hot bread was fantastic, and the fast, polite service is was got it three stars.

Great place to come in and eat. The food is great and never had a bad meal. Prices are reasonable for a nice quiet date night out. You must try the Italian nachos. Absolutely worth the price every time!

This place is never a disappointment no matter which state im in. The start of the experience is when they bring out the warm herb french bread with an toasted garlic herb olive oil dip...so good mmmm. The food portions are a nice size and i always end up taking some home and the waitress always offers a loaf of their bread and dipping oil to go home with. I have tried many things on their menu and am never disappointed, its always homemade non processed tasting. You can see the open kitchen where your meal is prepared and hear the sizzel of perfection in the making. Its always a treat to stop and eat here on the way to or from california. My recommendation is the grilled chicken bowtie festival the bacon in this dish enhances the flavor and they are not stingy with the chicken either. For you seafood lovers the seafood fettuccine has pleanty of seafood with the choice of alfredo or spicy Marana my husband likes the alfredo sauce creamy yumness! This place is a nice change from olive garden

The bread was awesome. The lasagna was huge and delicious. The soft drinks tasted uncharacteristically delicious. I would go back for a mixed cocktail. I'll keep it simple: This place is worth every penny.

Between Redlands and Victorville, it was another day to experience country Italian cuisine at Johnny Carino's. Fresh bread was very good and warm. But Hand-Breaded Calamari Strips were fishy smelling and not that tasty. A chopped Classic Caesar Salad with croutons and Parmesan splinters was fairly good. But some salad sections seemed to be water logged, and Creamy Caesar Dressing tasted like the bottled variety. At least all washed down well with very good Vanilla Italian Soda. On the other end of the spectrum, Roasted Potatoes in the form of 20 large potato chunks, which Diane received in lieu of pasta to accompany her Chicken Parmigiana Alfredo, were excellent. And, chicken medallions selected for Chicken Marsala were nicely formed and browned, with a tasty light Marsala Sauce and fettuccine. Seating was comfortable. The ambiance was rustic Italian. Food was reasonably priced for dinner, and what started out as a rough gustatory journey ended well. 3-1/2 stars overall!

The water at Johnny Carino's tastes horrible: some sort of odd unidentifiable plastic/ metallic / chemical flavor. So, everything made with the water tastes horrible too: coffee, tea, ice etc. Doesn't the manager ever drink the water? He must know, someone must have complained. The food is pretty forgettable the atmosphere is bland at best. A sub-mediocre experience. Blah. Pleh. Yawn. Gack.

My girlfriend and I went in for happy hour beer and pizza. We waited a while to be seated because half of the staff was cornered in the bar area gossiping! The place has a bad smell when you walk in and it follows you into the bar area. That should have been my first indication to get out of there! The waitress looked like she was forced to take our order. Not welcoming at all! Bad service and the atmosphere seemed not well taken care of. Pizza was decent. Would have been better off staying at home and ordering a pizza. Very disappointed!!!

I enjoyed their pasta so much, I also like that you're able to build it with all the ingredients you ask for. Very friendly service and great food, definitely worth coming back for over and over. I've always enjoyed their great tasting pizza and now I will look forward to having more different ways pastas for next time.

Waiter I swear was the dishwasher and they needed him to wait table, he had no memory, food came my food had no taste what so ever, I didn't eat it, he never came to ask how everything was. When he finally came to get the dishes I said it was horrible he said nothing, no I sorry what ca I get you, nothing. Did nt take if off the bill either, he go a zero tip from me. Never going there again.

Stopped in tonight..Family Night. Family style dishes are half price! Server was a pleasant and friendly young lady. Ordered drinks and stuffed mushroom appetizer (good dish), Fresh bread (warm and tasty) and drinks were served right away. As soon as we had finished our appetizer, a family sized salad was delivered. Salad was fresh greens, carrots, tomatoes, crunchy croutons. Above average (for most restaurants these days) dressings were delivered on the side as we requested. The family style salad is $9.00 with a nice sized slice of cake or cheesecake (another good deal IMO) Main course was GRILLED CHICKEN BOWTIE FESTIVAL..IMO their take on Chicken Carbonara. Pasta cooked to perfection. The right blend of bacon, mushroom and tasty cream sauce. A wonderful dish..again served family style...easily enough for four adults. Desert was a reasonable sized slice of velvet cheese cake (our choice). Our overall experience was very good. Bar area was slow tonight so noise was not a factor at all. Again our server did a great job, aided by a second server (young man with Italian accent:) One of the less crowded restaurants on Victorvilles restaurant row. If you like Italian food at a reasonable price..Give this place a try. For a really good deal..hit them up on Family Night. Just come hungry. We will be back and will only write a follow up IF something goes horribly wrong. 4 1/2 stars

Johnny Carino's has a nice ambiance and we were greeted promptly after walking through the door. I highly recommend the Italian nachos on the appetizer menu and the half order is perfect size for an appetizer. The waiter was on top of refills but not overbearing. Which is always a plus. The lunch menu is reasonably priced and there are a lot of tasty options.

You know I have such huge expectations for this place and a few others and am typically let down more times than not. I just don't like box/chain restaurants. I would rather try "mommas" place down the road that seats a quarter of what these places can fit and enjoy a homemade meal in a more personable setting. However carinos is pretty good and for that I have eaten their. They are all "a" similar and don't vary to much. So if you enjoy the same at anyone of the carinos here you go.

Their food is so good. Or maybe I'm bias cause I love pasta. You will definitely get full if you go here because of that bread they just let it keep coming. Setting-wise it was dim lighted not quiet but not loud.

This place is absolutely horrible. Every time I have gone the food is awful. Buffalo pizza was salty as heck! My Alfredo pizza had disgusting dried tomatoes on it. Way to much spinach on it as well, it was just really bad. The only good thing about this place is the bar has happy hour all day which the drinks were good but I wanted to enjoy my dinner and that did not happen. Oh and by the way it's way to over priced and the service is the worst and it was super slow the night I went! I'm never going again unless it for a couple drinks.

Had one of these in North Las Vegas, it was good! We had gone several times, and one day drove over to find the doors closed, so when driving back from LA, we saw this place and decided to stop. We're glad we did, same great flavors. We ordered an appetizer, Italian nachos, crispy pasta chips, black olives, pepperoncinis, roma tomatoes, jalapeños, alfredo, mozzarella and parmesan. They were very good, (we're still talking about them days later) For my entree I got a skilletini, sizzling skillet with spaghetti, spicy marinara sauce, parmesan, marinated onions and green bell peppers with sausage. It was very "hot" and burned my mouth, the flavors all together were good. Service was a little slow, they were extremely busy, the manager came by and we had been sitting for a while with empty glasses, he noticed and apologized, we still didn't get tea refills.

A Olive Garden rip off if you ask me. The all you can eat salad gets brought to you on a tiny plate so you have to keep asking and waiting for more. I did really enjoy their sun dried tomato dressing though, thick and freshly made. The prices are a bit steep for what you get. You get the free bread, but it is pretty stale. My husband got the baked cheese tortellini and it was a tiny portion, he said it tastes fine but way overpriced for a chain restaurant. Service is ok, nothing special, it was pretty full and we got a too small booth right by the takeaway entrance which was pretty annoying. I would not bother going back, it has nothing to do with authentic italian and you can make this cheaper and better at home.

Wonderful service! The host seated us right away (3 people). My server Katelyn was friendly and inviting, she always had a smile on her face. I had the Chicken Milone, the chicken was great, but the cheese and noodles could have been better. Overall enjoyable experience, more so for the service and not so much the food. Great place to socialize.

I went with my girlfriend a few Saturdays ago. The place was packed, busy as can be, and we honestly have never had better service than that night. The manager was out bussing tables here and there to ease the strain of the night. It was, in my opinion, the greatest service you could ever have. Our drinks would be nearing empty, and either our waitress or the manager would have another one to us before it was gone. I hope that night was not a one time thing, because that was the greatest service anyone could ever receive, and I hope more people get to enjoy a night as flawless as ours was.

Food is bland and overpriced for what you're getting. Worst part about this restaurant is the service. Waitresses are slow and the hostess can't figure out where to put you in an empty restaurant. I stopped coming here completely when I had a party of 5 and waited over an hour to sit while other people with bigger parties got seated immediately when walking through the door. Another family was also waiting just as long as us. Funny coincidence that we were the only two party that weren't white. Racism at its finest n we both walked out!

Me and my husbands favorite date night place :D They have a good bar selection and the bartender googles our requests if she doesn't know them lol :D We love the Sicilian sticks, and the Jalapeno Ravioli. The waitresses are friendly and helpful, we have had one or two slip ups here or there but personality compensates every time. My husband loves the beer selection HUGE! I love the cleanliness and relaxed casual atmosphere :D

Today I took my daughter to lunch for some one on one time and the food was delicious. I ordered the lunch pizza special with unlimited salad and she ordered pasta. The ambiance was perfect and we even ordered dessert, the Italian chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream to be exact. I wish the waitress would've been just a little more attentative so I could give 5 stars but I'll be back and hopefully I can give the fifth star! You cannot go wrong here when it comes to Italian food in the High Desert. Try it!

Not happy to discover that Kid's Menu items do not include a beverage, so we were charged $3 for soda along with the $7.50 kid's pizza. Ridiculous! We were not even offered the dessert which is supposed to come with the kid's meal as the check was being handed to us. Will not be coming back...

The service was slow and the food was cold when it got to the table. They took it back and it came out nice and hot. Took them a long time to get us seated as the hostess was in the back getting napkins and things. Over all the food was ok and service was slow but the warm bread was a good touch.

Food was delayed, cold, unpresentable, and server was unkept and unavailable. Bathrooms were immersed in urine and feces smell, urine- covered floors. Informed management and he and waitstaff had a laugh about it. My 5 yo daughter had mystery white cream in mac n cheese that tasted like bad ranch dressing, my entree was also cold and had lettuce on plate. (Small piece fell in?) Complained to manager on exit and he made excuses for food and server, told me not to talk about his waitstaff. Became belligerent with me. (By saying he was unavailable and unkept, baggy pants, shirt untucked, dirty and wrinkly) bad experience. Corporate would not correspond by email.

Date of visit is Tuesday, July 9, 2013. I went here after a long day of traveling to Victorville. I am newly vegetarian, so I thought it'd be safe to order the Baked Cheese Tortelloni. Perhaps it was my own fault for not asking, but I don't recall the menu stating that it was served in a meat sauce. After eating almost the entire plateful, I realized there were small pieces of meat in the sauce. If I wanted meat sauce, I would have been disappointed in the amount and size of the meat pieces, as it took me almost the entire meal to realize there was even meat in the dish. My only wish is that Carino's would designate their vegetarian options to make them easier to find on their menu.

Seems to have slipped a bit. Menus are very busy, and no more kids menus or crayons. Lasagna is not freshly made as we found out by biting into and finding paper. Manager states that it is delivered in frozen layers and the cook failed to remove the paper. Second piece was good, but overall was a little disappointed.

I absolutely love this place! I bring most of my clients here and all of them love it, too! The food is fantastic! My favorite is a spicy shrimp and chicken dish. They bring hot bread from the oven and a dish of olive oil with garlic and spices to enjoy while you are waiting for your meal. It is beyond yummy! Sometimes I just come for "communion"....bread and wine....with my girlfriends. The service is wonderful. Everyone is friendly and very helpful. If you would like a more quiet or intimate spot to sit in, there are private booths at the South end of the restaurant. I always try to sit there. The facility is impeccably clean. I highly recommend Johnny Carino's!

Ate in the bar last night and 1st impression was not so hot; first drink order came in a dirty glass however bartender handled the situation well. Service was good. Atmosphere, well let's just say their employees like to hang out in the bar and bash the management staff and I found it totally unprofessional. This place makes up for it with the food.... You are probably better off sitting in the dining area if you are searching for a good meal. Other than my experience in the bar it was just alright...

I've been to this location at least 10 times. We always sit on the bar, but the deals are great! Great beer selection for greater price. The wings are my favorite and the are 25 cents each on Thursdays. I will be back!

Date night tonight. Italian Nachos and mozzarella sticks (more like steaks) for appetizers. Grilled Chicken Bowtie Festival and lasagna for main course. The Festival was incredible, so incredible I called the manager over to tell him so. Our server was MIA for a while, left us hanging on the refills and the check for a bit to long. However, good company makes up for the extra time.

Really good food! Great service. A very nice variety on the menu. An all around great experience. If I had to complain about something it would be the noise. Solid walls and a solid ceiling do not make for good sound absorption so the noise just bounces around. The food and service make up for it though, just know it is not going to be a nice quiet evening :)

We visit here quite often. The only reason we come here is because they have a great coupon available online. We always order soup and salad and the total comes to about $10-$12. If I didn't have a coupon for this place I probably would never come here again. It is merely So-so. Wait staff here is hit or miss. Sometimes it's terrible and other times it is Stellar. Go for lunch. It is much cheaper.

    (3)
  • Don P.

Those awesome beer specials are only available in the bar. Shots are nice and full. Food is hit and miss. Really kind of depends on what you like. I think it's wannabe upscale Italian posing as the alternative to Oliver Garden without much change in the chain-i-ness of Italian food. The bar's great as long as you can deal with the crowd though. Just know that even though they advertise 200 beers on average they're carrying about 125, and only have about 75 lying around. I don't mind, but you might.

Me and my family have been here 3 times ,I cant remember the name of our waiter(sorry) but he was great! .......Fast friendly, patient with my kids who never can figure what they want from their menu.. Or always change their order at last minutes notice, Every time we walk through the door we are seated fast ,I usually stick to same old thing from a menu but I tried something different every trip here and I was completely satisfied ! The Seafood Alfredo is awesome ,and the house Sirloin with potatoes was even better! The Bar is a bit loud and crowded at times but good times with good friends No complaints here! When check time comes my pocket screams with happiness of savings compared to Olive Garden over priced and boring menu ! Did I mention if you have an extra 2hrs just too wait around to be seated, and eat average food then GO straight too the garden....

I go to this location of Johnny Carinos a lot. I know everyone from the security to the bartender. I had a waiter from Carinos come up to me last night at APPLEBEES!! drunk and accused me of skipping out on my tab, right in front of my family!! OUTRAGEOUS! I told him it wasn't me and he didn't believe me of course. My family all took me for a liar. So tonight 12-14-12, I went in to the restaurant and told PHILIP the tattoo artist from Italy waiter to show me the receipt. These people are so stupid!! They accused me of running out on a tab in Victorville, Ca 92392....WHEN I WAS IN PALM SPRINGS, Ca THAT NIGHT! wtf?!?!!?!?! I was thrown out and 86ed! what the hell?! I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN. I want an apology! I have contacted their corporate office. DON'T ever question someones integrity. ESPECIALLY when its a false accusation in the first place. I definitely believe PHILIP should be terminated for accusing me of lies and second getting 86ed. whats next their gonna be kicking people out for paying too much!!!!!!

My husband & I have been here numerous times, only because I like the happy hour specials here, but after the last experience we will NOT be going back!! We went on a Saturday night, it was very busy but we found a table in the bar area. We sat down & waited & waited & waited, no one EVER came!! We sat about 20 minutes before my husband walked up to the bar to get us some drinks, we tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after 10 minutes of my husband standing at the bar waiting to be helped he gave up. So we left! This is not the first time I've had bad service but it definitely will be the last!!!

Parking looked ridiculous as we pulled up, but we were seated immediately. At a 1/2 booth 1/2 table. With really high chairs. That was different heights. Not very comforting. Server was polite, but short and left after taking drink orders before i could order my calamari. Finally came back with the "piece" of bread and wet/dirtyish plates and took our orders. 3 minutes later, i was brought my Caprese salad that i had ordered with my meal, before the appetizer came. It's rude to eat in front of others. At THIS time, we realized that one of the servers actually had her hair completely down, looking like she was going to prom!! By this point i was POSITIVE i would be getting a long black hair on my plate... After an eternity of not seeing our server and the couple NEXT to us, who had come in AFTER us were eating, or food was delivered and my wife thought she ordered the wrong thing. I had to go to get a menu, to realize that she was supposed to get a gorgonzola mushroom spinach topping on her steak. After letting the server know this she said "oh it comes with it, but you have to ASK for it.........." i was befuddled. Finally check came, i'm not pissed i left a $6 tip and the entire time the manager never once came by to ask how things were, how the food was, nothing. Mind you, we dropped $75 on dinner here. I'm not the guy that looks for specials and brings a coupon. I just hope i remember this next time i think i might go back.

Tried it for the first time Wed night, quite busy for mid week. Seated next to adjacent table with party with a sporadic screaming child. So much for an enjoyable evening at the beginning, when the party left it was much better. Service was so so considering our server was dashing back and forth keeping everyone happy. I was undecided on what to order the Lemon Rosemary Chicken or Pinot Grigio Chicken, server recommended the Lemon Rosemary Chicken and it was awesome! Husband ordered the Bacon Gorgonzola Burger and loved it as well. Will definitely check it out again when we have company in town.

One word.... BELLINI! A tall flute class of peach puree and sparking wine is just amazing. We had that during the brunch hours of 11am-2pm. They have a brunch menu as well, but you can always order off the regular menu as well. The Bellini is probably why it got three starts, because my french toast sucked. Eggs were good, but not great and the bacon was not all that great either. Maybe I should stick to more extravagant meals because my grandmas breakfast tomato something panini was quite good and the omelettes looked good from afar, just do not get the french toast. Sad face happen all over that day because it was not good. I have never had a bad drink there though. Martinis, Wine, BELLINI...all super fantastic. Its a cute little place in the crazy town of Victorville one can experience. I tried to buy one of their shirts, but they said no. I just liked the deign because I love Martini glasses and what not. Oh well.

Love this place. Much better than Olive Garbage. I have never been disappointed. I love the food, service and beautiful decor. Huge portions I always bring my food home.

Took forever, sat us by a hole in the wall in the corner, no kids menu, messed up the order, drink refills took forevs, ketchup: MIA. Customers behind us are complaining too.

Foods good, Happy Hour prices are great if the price on the menu is what they actually charge and service is horrible. We visited the new bar area twice now. We ordered from the Happy Hour selections and were over-charged on food and beer. Server corrected the food to the advertised price of $4.00, instead of $9.99, but said she can't correct the beer price to what was advertised on the menu AND on the chalk board next to the bar. We decided to give it a second chance and had even worse service. The waiter seemed like he didn't want to work. We had a hard time locating him to place food and drink orders and he was nowhere to be found for refills. And, of course, the prices were all well over what was listed on the menu and our food was mixed up with the group sitting with us. We asked him to correct it and after explaining 3 times what was ours (we told him separate checks before ordering AND wrote the correct items on our bill) he finally got the items right but refused to adjust the prices stating the menu was old. We will not be back.

Taco Tuesday is where it's at!!! Krystal is our server! She really helps you enjoy your experience here! 1$ tacos and the 2$ fish tacos are awesome. I was never a fan of fish tacos until I came here.

I'll agree with a previous reviewer that this place deserves 2.5 stars, but its closer to two then three. I did the "create your own pasta" deal, and I ordered bowtie pasta with alfredo sauce and sausage. In my mind, I pictured pieces of sausage all cut up and mixed in with the pasta. WRONG. What I got was a bowl of bowtie pasta with flavorless alfredo sauce on it, and one big long italian sausage plopped right on top of the whole mess. Seriously? And the sausage was nasty too. The two people I was dining (was I dining?) with both ordered the Spicy Romano Chicken, and I tried it and that seemed much better then the mess that I got. So if I was ranking this place on their entrees, I'd give it three stars. But based on mine, its two. The warm bread they bring you is good, and I like the roasted garlic and olive oil situation, and the side caesar salad was good too. BUT I'm not going to a restaurant just for apps and sides. Get it together Johnny!

Nothing special. Not too many choices on the menu. The food tasted ok- we had lasagna and spaghetti with meat balls. The portions are pretty big too. Unfortunately my husband and I both had some indigestion problems after the dinner :( Our experience didn't start very well though. We weren't greeted nicely at all by the hostess, actually she was pretty rude. She didn't offer the crayons and drawing page for our daughter until later. As if on purpose-as if she wanted us to wait. When i asked her for the high chair she gave me a very mean look. Not a nice person at all. If she can't be friendly and courteous towards all customers then maybe she shouldn't be working at a restaurant. And then our server was taking long to bring our menus, but once he started serving us it was pretty fast. He was nice.

I've tried and tried and tried again, but the prices don't add up the the service and quality of the food. The food is lacking in everything: heat, flavor, nutrition, and consistency. I like my food piping hot and I've literally ordered "wood fired" pizza and it's come to the table cold - cheese rubbery and crust soggy. I know to not expect much from an Italian Applebee's but I have a few standards: I don't want to be treated like a robot. I want my food HOT. I don't want to pay $100 for mediocre/bad food. Done. I should have known.

It was a nice place to stop for dinner on our way home to Las Vegas. Nice enough that we didn't have the fast food feel, yet we could get in-and-out without a major delay to our trip. It's directly off I-15. A nice casual feel with good food at a fair price. I especially enjoyed their meatballs. If you're looking for a more elaborate fair, add drinks, appetizers and dessert and take your time. The ambiance is nice and doesn't make you feel rushed and the food was good. So was the service. Nicely done for a chain restaurant.

Used to go here somewhat regularly. However, we went here about a year ago and the food was terrible. I used to get the jalapeno talapia and it was delicious. Last time it was very fishy and it tasted like they just poured some cream over it with no jalapeno at all. So we just didn't go back. I recently heard they remodeled the bar so we decided to get a couple of drinks and check it out. They have little buckets of peanuts on the tables. Obviously when they cleaned the table they didn't think to look in the bucket. Whoever was there before us just put there shells back in so we had a bucket of used shells. We ordered the chopped salad pizza which we really enjoyed. Love there house dressing. Now their bar. My wife ordered the midnight martini which she really enjoyed. So she ordered a second and it looked and tasted different. It had lime and the first one had none. We told our waitress that they made the wrong drink. She said it's a different bartender and she added to much vodka so she added lime to cover it up. She said but at least you're getting more alcohol. We liked the taste of the first one. If we wanted to get drunk we would order some shots. Then I first ordered a Stone Ruination IPA. Had two. Then when I ordered the third she showed up with an already opened regular Stone IPA. She said they were out of the Ruination and did I want this one. I said ok. I took two sips and told her I really didn't like it can I trade it for an Arrogant Bastard. She checked with the manager and was told I couldn't trade it because it was already opened. She delivered it opened before asking if I wanted it. What if I said no then? Overall the food we got was very good. They have a large selection of beers if they have them in stock. But the management sucks.

I think we all enjoy a good happy hour, but at this place it's more like mad hour. A friend and I went to sit at the bar during a time when they weren't very busy and during a span of 2 hours we got 2 drinks each. The bartender was even too busy to give us a pen to write a tip on the receipt. When I mean too busy I mean the bartender was too busy texting and helping his friends that weren't even sitting at the bar. Beware of the bartender with crappy Disney tattoos, aside from him I've had great experiences with other bartenders but this guy was so horrible it was crazy! Just like Disney this boy is childish! I should have ordered bread sticks so he can sit on them and contemplate why he got Disney tattoos, but seriously avoid happy hour at the bar if he's serving.

First time to Johhny's the bar inside Carino's crowded, but people friendly, there was a group using just half a very large table and they were nice enough to share the other side with us. Service, well busy so getting their attention the first few times was a little difficult but once we got our order in they delivered it pretty quick. did the 25 cents wings and the pizza was half the price in the menu. Very friendly, extermelly affordable.

The food is mediocre for an Italian food place but their bread and olive oil is bomb. Their servers are sort of nice and some can be rude and neglectful. Also they serve Wild Blue beer at their bar....that made me very happy

Can't go wrong with Carino's and I'm thankful that somehow the desert has managed to hold on to one of the final locations. It's always delicious and yummy. Maybe SOMEDAY I'll get to sit in one of those cool tent/enclosed tables. I won't hold my breath ;).

Ok so my husband and i have came here years ago when they 1st opened &wasnt satisfied with the food, but when they re-modeled the bar area ,&we heard that it was pretty cool,we had to check it out...came here on St.Pattys day&grabbed seats at the bar,yes the happy hour is great prices but service wasnt good,we were sitting right in front of bartender trying to get her attention to order another drink ,was impossible. We went back 2 days later to do happy hour AGAIN to try the food, service SUCKED again&it was a tuesday nite. We saw our waitress twice in a 45min period :/ food wasnt that great either&happy hour portions are like a happy meals,do not share & order extra.

Service was wonderful. Krysta was our server, she turned our evening around after it began with a horrid experience at Giuseppe's. The Lasagna was marvelous. If you like Minestrone soup then this is the place to have it. We were too full for desert but they looked really good. Oh, and the spinach-artichoke dip appetizer is worth the $$ too. Great service, quality food for a decent price.

I've definitely had better italian, I've also had worse. I really want to say 2 1/2 stars if I could but not an "A-OK" 3 start rating. Salad was good, nice chunks of Bleu Cheese, food was a little bland, chicken parm pattie, while large was just kinda "vanilla" which pretty much describes the whole meal. Sauce needs more something. Fettechini Alfredo was lacking. Not bad, just not good. Cute inside and very good service tho. Definitely not on par with a Buca or Maria's, or even Olive Garden for that matter.

My wife and I go on Monday nights for the half-price family meals. We get the angel hair pasta with sausage in meat sauce. We always end up with leftovers for lunch the next day. Their chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream is sooooo good when it's time for dessert.

We were looking for a Macaroni Grill but found this little gem, right off the interstate. We pulled in and wondered "What is country Italian?" When we walked in the door they were not overly busy, the hostess seated us right away. We sat down and our waitress (very friendly I am sorry I don't remember her name) came up and asked for our drink orders , We ordered water with lemon and I ordered a bellini. We received hot herbed bread (not focaccia) and seasoned olive oil. The seasoned olive oil completely made the bread experience divine. It had roasted garlic which kind of gave the bread a crunch ... it was really good. I ordered parmigiana (chicken) and he ordered scallopini. Our food was brought out and I noticed the gentleman next to me ordered a steak ( which I lusted over the entire time he was eating) but my chicken parm was EXTREMELY good. Very fresh . My bellini also good but a little more sour than I was expecting. I think next time I would go straight up sangria... tasty! The portions were over the top tooo much, which I was thankful to take some home for lunch the next day. A great dining experience I would have preferred angel hair with my meal instead of spaghetti ... Which HUGE BONUS they totally substitute and cook to order ... with no additional fees or questions. Definitely a must do again when we go back to cali.

stopped by carino's in Victorville for dinner last night, it was pretty good. They had a location by N durango and 215 in Vegas , it closed . To bad cause they are on par with all the other Italian chain restaurants . U know which ones, anyway had their italian nachos looked like won ton skins w chix, sausage , olives , italian peppers w/ Alfredo sauce all over neat idea. Pretty tasty. I had the carino's favorite combo it had chicken parm (little dry) chunk of lasagna and spaghetti w/ maranara . The lasagna they claim has sixteen layers I think, anyway it was pretty thick. It was also very tender u could cut it w/ a fork without it falling apart very impressive and tasty. Too bad we were too far from home and heading in the wrong direction(going to LA) or that bad boy would have come home with me. The wife had some kind of spaghetti with chix in a skillet, don't remember her meal too much I was too busy stuffing my face, sorry. Sometimes I forget I yelp. I would go back for the lasagna and try a pasta dish . Maybe on the way back :)

I went here with friends about a month ago and sat in the bar area. I don't get to go out often so I was just happy to be out and ready for some good food. I will say once I got my food it was very good, but the waitress we had wasn't very good. She had placed everyone Else's order right but some how mine got lost and was not made. Once they realized that, they put the order in so I got my food 40 min after everyone else that was with me. I was freaking starving by the way haha. So that sucked, also I ordered a salad to eat before my pizza came and that never came either, but it was still on the bill at the end of the night. The waitress that took our order, she helped us twice through out the whole night, other servers we're making sure we we're taken care of. I did see her visiting her friends at a certain table all night though. That was rude and made me frustrated. I have been a waitress before and I tip very well if my waitress's do a good job because I know it can be a busy/hard job, but she unfortunately didn't get a good tip because it was horrible service on her part. The food and my pomegranate margarita we're delicious though, that's why they get 3 stars from me today

Carino's restaurant food ok but a bit pricey...I want to write about the NEW Johnny's Italian-American bar located in Carino's...Happy hour all day/evening with fantastic selection of over 100 craft beers @ $2.25 plus bellinis and large selection of margaritas..I will only attest to the beers as that is what I drink. Nowhere else in the entire Victor Valley is there so much great selection, fair price, and friendly wait staff plus food specials every day in the bar: $4.00 pizza, 25c wings on Thursday, Italian tacos for $1 on Tuesday, $1 beef ribs on Sunday, and Italian nachos on Monday $2..Great snack food with beer!!! The atmosphere is bright and lively with MANY large screen TV's showing multi-sports events simultaneously..I go at least 3 times a week to try different brews and enjoy the ambiance, games, friendly staff, and meeting happy and interesting people.. If you like to go to a cheerful packed bar almost any day of the week I HIGHLY recommend this excellent home-away-from-home!!!

Johnny Carino's is another of our favorites! We absolutely love their warm and (usually) fresh-baked bread with the roasted garlic and olive oil. We always prefer one of the little curtained alcoves or whatever they call them. It's great for a romantic dinner where you don't have to see the other guests. The service is average. Most times it takes a while to catch our waiter/waitress if we need something and THAT is a bit annoying. When someone finally does show up they don't close the curtains again when they leave...a minor annoyance... We had the chicken parmigiana the last time we were there a few weeks ago and it was disappointing. Definitely not fresh! And not nearly as flavorful as the previous time. A bit of a disappointment considering the price... But, I know we will continue to go back because it's the ONLY restaurant up here with the private alcoves and the food IS usually very good even if the service is usually mediocre....

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
