I'm shocked at so many poor reviews, I certainly didn't have any issue the others have had. Maybe things have improved since then? We went here on a Sunday for lunch and were seated and served immediately. The fiesta hummus platter was delicious - much better than you could buy in a store. I had a saucy chicken pita, my husband had a gyros and french fries. I've never had such flavorful fries without seasoning, the potato taste really came through. We sat outside in a sunny location, it was very relaxing. I'm sorry I gave Pacific Pita 5 stars now because this place beats the flavor and is less expensive all with white table cloth atmosphere!

The baba ganoush is fantastic! The sangria is refreshing! The service was great. Our waiter was attentive and full of energy! The patio is beautiful, and great for summer evenings. We have been to Soro's a few times and sat both inside and out. The service has always been great, as has the food. We ordered dessert for the first time the other night. I am not an ice cream fan. I do not like fried ice cream. However, our waiter was convinced that we would love it so we got the Mediterranean fried ice cream. It was amazing. The best dessert I've ever had at a restaurant ever! They make it there and it is fabulous!

Visiting the wine country and were happy to find a mediterranean restaurant in old town Temecula. The ambiance leaves a lot to be desired and the restaurant shares an outoor restroom with a local bar (you need to go out of the restaurant and down half a block to a very unclean restroom). The service is very good and the menu chock full of traditional mediterranean dishes (tabouleh, falafel, tzaziki, baba ganoush, lamb kebobs, etc.) The baba ganoush was not as traditional as I would have liked but their tzazki was delicious and the lamb was cooked to perfection by tradional method - rotisserie - and shaved in thin, scrumptious slices. Delicious!

Horrible! I got the special filet mignon medium rare, after two attempts, it is still fully cooked! Since all my party have finished their food, the nice guy took it off of the bill. I ended up hungry and meatless. ;(

Dylan, the owner and Chef is VERY passionate about his food. Hands on is his style. Food is excellent and decently priced. The staff is very knowledgeable and SUPER friendly! If you want a special treat, ask Dylan for a tableside flaming dinner!

Love the mediterranean salad, gyro, and Philly cheese steak. Patio seating is nice!

The food was delicious, but the service was sloooooooooooooow. We are only ever in Temecula when we go visit my parents in Big Bear and are then driving home to San Diego. It's really the only area to stop and get a good dinner along the way. With that said, we don't want to spend over 2 hours at a restaurant. I'm not saying I wanted to rush, but there were times we couldn't even find our server...lots of those times, and we waited quite a bit. The food is delicious here, but skip it if you are on any sort of time schedule at all.

i was REALLY dissapointed!!! We drove all the way from South Corona to check this place out. The website and the reviews made it seem like this place was THE place to go.. sadly not. The customer service was great but the food was not so great. The only thing my husband and I actually enjoyed (foodwise) was the Saganaki & the wine. The food took forever to get to us. It was all overwhelmingly over spiced. My hummus tasted like pure cumin. My $22 lamb chops tasted solely of VINEGAR (white vinegar).. not even balsamic or white wine...no no no... like the vinegar you PICKLE WITH!! The mushroom sauce they give you with the lamb chops is disgusting as well. My husbands chicken kabobs were dry, over cooked, and once again OVER SPICED. Never wasting my time, money, and gas to come here again unfortunately, because the scenery is lovely and the customer service was great... its just the food is a complete flop for us.

Drove ALL the way to Temecula for a birthday party at Soro's on a cold Saturday night. At first they wanted to seat us outside however we had to move because there were no heat lamps. They moved us inside however next to the back door which was the door to use the public restrooms shared by other vendors in Old Town Temecula. The server was funny and quirky and her service was good the entire night. Most of us ordered a kabob of some sort which was accompanied by a salad, humus, and rice. Everything was slopped onto the plate which I did not care for. However, the food was good but my steak kabobs were cold, probably because there were seven of us in the party. Desert was a Turkish Tiramisu which I loved which was flavored with orange and turkish coffee. We also ordered a deep fried ice cream which was also yummy. Overall, Soro's was decent and actually fair in the price for the meal. The pitta bread is the best. And I am sure you will run into the owner who is a comedic treat for you when you visit Soro's.

My daughter had her wedding reception at Soro's yesterday. I couldn't of asked for better. Dylan Soro, owner waited on us hand and foot even though every table was busy. The food was delicious and he even made a few special plates for the youngest kids. My new son in law is a Marine who will be going overseas soon. We couldn't help but notice the Marine flag flying proudly or the clippings on the wall from a few of his military buddies including a close friend who made the ultimate sacrafice.Dylan's dad also helped out by giving a special blessing to the young couple. This restaurant will have a special place in our family forever. Thank you.

My wife and I returned to Temecula 10 years after our first date there. Originally we went to a old fashioned burger joint there that was pretty good. But 10 years and 3 kids later, we wanted something a little more grown up this time. Walked by Soro's and thought it looked good. Place is appealing and the outdoor dining was enjoyable. Food was good to very good, service was professional and good quality, and the prices were reasonable. We both had salads and they were above average. The humus appetizer we good as well. If you are in Temecula, you could do a lot worse than Soro's.

Yummo! Great setting and fabulous food. Every dish we ordered was fantastic. We had dolmas which were different from others I have had and we all really enjoyed them. The hommos-yum. Good job with the wine selection and representing the better local wineries. The filet was cooked perfectly in my Soro's Favorite. My mom, sister and BIL loved their curries. Portions were generous and everything tasted great. Dessert-fried ice cream-actually fried! Not rolled in corn flakes. Thank you so much for that! So good. The service was stellar. The owner came out to say "Happy Mother's Day" to all of the moms. We will definitely come back as we are so excited to finally find a nice family run restaurant with a nice setting and great food in Temecula that isn't a chain. I love finding gems like that.

So. i needed a place to dine the night before i took my lady on a Valentines day Balloon ride. We had just driven from LB and were in need of a quiet place w/ good atmosphere. We walked in and saw the owner ( you can just tell it's him when you see him) he was wearing a vest and shirt... as was i... So Soro comes over and says " i lover your vest, very nice taste! " lofl, and gives me a hug. Yup in the place less than 2 minutes and i've already been hugged by the owner. We sat, ordered the Babba Ganoush and a bottle of Vino. The ganoush was really good, a great way to start the meal. The vino was great. She had a shrimp curry. I had lamb shanks. To be quite honest, the food was just good. Not outstanding. The shrimp was better than the lamb. IMO. We then had a chocolate mousse with was great, light, and perfect with the wine. two things. If you can, sit outside if it's nice enough, they did the best they could w/ the inside seating. But it's a small area and if there are more than three tables it's a bit too much. Outside would be perfect. two. the waitress was super nice, but not very knowledgeable (but they did JUST open) and checked in on us a few to many times. When i'm on a nice date w/ my lady please don't interrupt our convo 4 separate times to ask 'how is everything tasting" What made the dinner four stars? the owner. no joke we went and took pictures w/ him after the dinner. It's a new place with a few wrinkles to work out, but give it time and it will def be a new temecula diamond.

I ate here for lunch today on their patio. They had wonderful customer service; very friendly. Shared the Chicken Caesar Pita Sandwich and the Philly Cheesesteak Pita Sandwich. Both were delicious and very filling. They also had the perfect Arnold Palmers and perfect pitas! Yum!

I was with a colleague driving to Riverside from San Diego and decided to stop in Temecula for lunch. We thought we'd cruise the happenin strip in Old Town Temecula to find some decent grub and to our surprise found a nice new mediterranean restaurant right on Front St. We weren't really expecting much, but the place actually served pretty good food. We ordered at the counter and the girl who took our order (Cynthia) was extremely pleasant and helpful. We ordered a chicken kabob plate and a dolma plate, and made it a combo with a drink and pita chips (lemon and garlic). This place is for big eaters who like large quantities of above average meditarranean food. If I were just reviewing the service and the chips, I'd give this place 4 stars. But the grape leaves were a little dry, and the chicken was just okay. Definitely a decent place to have lunch if you find yourself in Temecula, craving mediterranean.

Amazing Tilapia specials! The atmosphere is reminiscent of small locally owned restaurants in larger cities (North End in Boston for example) and the owner makes an effort to greet guests and make them feel welcome. The baked (and flambéed) goat cheese was extremely tasty. Our server suggested the 2 fish specials that evening which we both ordered and were very good-probably one of the best tilapia dishes we have had. Overall, great food, wine and environment to have a great dinner as a couple or with friends and family.

Just went there for lunch today. I recognized the layout of the joint as where Sweet Lumpy BBQ used to be. Anyway, the food wasn't bad, but the portion was small for the price. I had the chicken dish with lemon sauce, and there were only five small pieces of chicken. I might've given this place four stars, but what broke the deal was that when we asked for more pita bread, we didn't know they were $1 each until we saw our check. the waitress could've at least warned us. Normally at restaurants, they'd give you more breat/pita for free, and i thought that it was super cheap of Sorros to charge for that.

I cannot believe that I have neglected this review for so long! I apologize, Soro's; you deserve better than that. What with how you that one day you made my tabouleh order fresh, and let me taste it in order to get the flavour just as I like. And how the one time when you forgot to put my baba ganoush in my take away order, you remembered me when I came back 3 days later and gave it to me. Not to mention your welcoming atmosphere, personal service, and good location. Not to mention a good selection of Stone Brewing company beers. You even give love to the vegetarians and vegans. My mother likes you, too. All that, and it takes me how long to write this review? For shame on me: that is no way to treat a friend.

Great Mediterranean meals within the heart of Old Town Temecula. Our family decided to dine at Soro's during a recent visit to Old Town Temecula after looking over the many inviting dishes on the menu. We apparently arrived during an unexpected rush (the day before Valentine's Day). It was quite apparent that the service was bogged down because of the near capacity amount of customers that afternoon. We were initially seated inside but we quickly realized the indoor atmosphere was less than prime--very minimal space to move about, drab lighting and a stuffy feeling overall. Our request to be seated outside was granted after a few moments, and the decision certainly paid off. Despite the lag, the staff was friendly and apologetic during the process, even prompting the head chef (and owner) to greet all the customers. Overall, the wait was bearable, and when the food arrived we forgot about the ordeal all together. We started with the "Greek Nachos" appetizer-- a uniquely scrumptious treat: baked pita bread topped in melted feta cheese with tiny slices of tomato, onions, green pepper and drizzled in tahini sauce. That in itself was a meal, however the main course was just as inspiring. The veggie curry falafel was a delicious dish that combined the cool taste of Mediterranean ingredients with the spicy flavor of an Indian plate. The hot-and-cold combination strangely enough worked, leaving me thoroughly satisfied with my experience. Other than the inside seating arrangements, I would confidently rate Soro's a solid five stars.

Themed setting eclectic menu the Greek pizza is awesome I really liked this was different. Only hitch the restroom is around the corner outside. We ordered the Soros ceviche and it was delightful as well, they died the shrimp pink my girlfriend however did not like the fish in there.

By far one of my most favorite places to eat. I love to sit on the patio. The overall feel is very romantic and relaxing. Service is great and papa soro is wonderful. Dinner is fantastic but I love their lunch. The chicken Cesar and philly pita are my favorites. The hummus sampler plate is a must. Enjoy

Had a yummy meal. Service was very nice. Small place so you are at the mercy of other patrons. Food was delicious...had the falafel plate and my husband had the salmon....not the best ever eaten but quite good. Recommend the "flaming cheese" as an appetizer....really delicious warm feta cheese with pita. Would come back if in the area.

Anybody that does not give this place 5 stars is numb. Yes I mean't numb. This is the best little restaurant in Riverside county. The only problem is....Dillon...the owner.....hasn't opened one in San Diego. Soro's is healthy and tasty and the location is pretty cool. If your in Temecula eat there cause it really is the best.

4 stars for the food and decor/feel of the place and 3 stars for the VERY SLOW service. We really liked the food. The Cali fries for the appetizer was great but good for a group sharing because it is so big. I had the Soro's Favorite with beef and it was excellent. My husband has the Greek Gyro Plate. He enjoyed it, but it was basically Gyro meat over rice (nothing special). When we first arrived (at 4pm on a Friday), we thought they were closed because there was no one at the tables and no one greeted us at the patio. We waited for a couple minutes (sign said wait to be seated) and then walked into the restaurant and there were 2 ladies sitting at the bar talking with the bar tender (all worked there) and still no one greeted us. I asked if they were closed and I was told to wait a minute someone will seat us. We were the only dinners in the entire restaurant. Our waiter showed up and he was very friendly and sat us inside. It was really windy and hot outside to the inside was quiet and cool. He was very attentive and brought our appetizer out and there was a nice wait between appetizers and main course. However, after the main course came around, he never came back. We saw him and a few other workers wandering around but never came back to our table. When we were done, I finally got a different lady to come to the table and asked for our check - 20 minutes later she came back with it. Over all, we would return for a second visit because the food is very good but hope the service and attention is better. Old Town gets very loud in the evenings (especially on the weekends) so I would recommend lunch or come for dinner during the week. It is right next to the beer garden and they get quit loud and rowdy.

For a fast food type of place, this was quite decent. Tasty mediterranean style wraps (we tried hummous based ones) that seemed pretty healthy. Definitely would go back if we are in the area again.

Pretty good all around, I had dinner with a group of 8 and our waiter was exceptional never missed a beat. I had the Chicken Scampi served with greek style salad, rice, hummus and pita bread, it melted in my mouth at $15 which is avg price for a chicken dish. My friend had the lamb shanks which she said was fantastic, that coming from an Aussie who has probably had the best tasting lamb in the world. I thought the hummus was decent, I'm not a hummus connoisseur but for the everyday diner it was fine. We sat inside, the atmosphere is meh, kinda small surprised they had a table for 8. And finally the bathroom, I've got to agree with other reviews...not impressed at all that it is outside and shared with Beer/Wine hangout. Overall, for the restaurants in the Old Town Temecula area it is one of the better, priced right and tasty!

  • Hazuki R.

I love the food here! The hummus is really good and I love the chicken kabob plate. If you're in a rush then it might not be a good idea to go as the service can be slow. But if you want to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather on the patio then it's the perfect place. BTW, if you love the pita chips they serve, you can buy them at Henry's off of Winchester by the LA Fitness

Menu had way too many things on it. Gyro sandwitch were so-so. Really fancy and romantic inside. Nice people running it but nothing near authentic.

My husband and I often go out o eat....at least three times a week! I am not a big fan of giving my reviews to give a fair chance for all businesses. However, this particular restaurant left my husband and I with such a bad taste in our mouths and our minds! We both ordered the chicken kabobs and as soon as our plates hit the table, we both looked at each other and thought "for real?" Are they really serving us these plates? Not only did it look unappetizing, everything looked so dry, I thought it all was dehydrated space food the came from a bag and poured onto a plate. The chicken wasn't even on a skewer! Never in my life has a restaurant disappointed us so much! We thought...okay, let's make the best of it! So we tried our meal! Honestly, everything tasted the way it looked! However, our waiter was very friendly, but I guess I felt that I had to write this review, because I was so surprised that they would actually served us or anyone this quality of food!!! At $35.00 for the both our plates, I expected more than dry, inedible rice, hummus, and a few pieces of jerky chicken! To top it off, I thought, I will just eat the pita bread... Even that was as cold, stale and old tasting! I am really shocked that anyone would serve any customer a plate that not only looked as bad as it did, but tasted as like it too! Very disappointing! I don't even want to give the food one star!

    (1)
  • Vinh N.

Simply the best, I grew up in Michigan and had great Mediterranean food. Soro's is fantastic, it takes slot for me to even give a 4 star, but this place gets a 5 from me! Great service, great people, and wonderful food!

  • Dani C.

I stopped in on my way from San Diego for lunch, traveling by myself. It was soooo cute and had outside seating so I couldn't resist. The food was great! I started with the roasted pepper hummus which can often be over powering but this was fantastic! For lunch I had the blackened salmon linguine which had the most amazing sauce! Salmon was cooked perfectly too. One thing I will say about the food is that the chef if very proud of his food. I watched him come out of the kitchen and approach another table saying that he wasn't prepared to bring their food out yet because one of the dishes did not turn out exactly as he expects. Quality Control yes, but I have worked for many chefs and I can appreciate when they want to serve only the best. Service on the other hand was a little slow. I got a very consistent refill of my beverage but she set it down and walked on by. I was never offered more pita until the main dish came out but by then I was starting to full up. I really like the place and I will definitely stop by again when I make the trip...

Great food, wonderful service, good music (sometimes live music). You must save room for there great desert Turkishmazu it is out of this world great! Vegetarian food is great. I can not review the meat dishes.

Excellent food and services. I agree with all the reviews' positive comments. I love this place. We're coming back!!! I feel so lucky that we've finally found something good close by my house! Do not hesitate, go there now and enjoy their super delicious food! High quality and really reasonable prices. Both of our dinner dishes were in the $10-$12. Not a lot places you can order fillet Mignon for that price.

My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner on our way through Temecula. We were very pleasantly surprised and will DEFINITELY come back!!! We started off with the babaganoush which was excellent. My boyfriend got the Gyro Plate and I had the Chicken Florentine pasta, both of which were great. The Chicken Florentine is definitely enough for two people, it looked like I hardly touched my food when I was already stuffed! We both ordered wine and when our glasses were empty, Papa Soro came and filled them up with a delicious bottle for no extra cost. He was entertaining and sat and talked with us for a while. The chefs from the kitchen even came out to meet us. His son is the main chef and they opened the restaurant in the past couple years. We really enjoyed talking with both of them and it is always fun to support a local restaurant. Overall, the service was good, the food was great, and the atmosphere was great. All in all, we will definitely be coming back.

I had the gyro plate and it was very good. I was very happy. The meat wasn't too salty like some gyro can be. My mom and aunt had one of the shrimp plates and I helped finish them off.

What an AMAZINGLY great time at Soro's! I went there for lunch yesterday with a good friend and Dylan set us up with a fantastic sampling of some of their signature dishes. The platter had Soro's Favorite Beef, Chicken, Shrimp, Pickled Vegetables, Salads, Hummus, etc, etc, etc! It was GREAT! Better yet was the service and true family atmosphere! Besides getting fixed up by Dylan, we got to meet Pappa and every individual in their service staff that helped us was also very friendly. And at $10-15/dish, everything is very reasonable. GREAT stop if in Temecula, go visit! -Aaron

Just happen to pass by this place while in Old Town and ate there on a whim. The food was excellent. I had the Gyro plate, it had some of the best sliced Gyro meat I have ever tasted. The plate came with a salad, red bell pepper hummus, basmati rice and pita bread for 9.95. This is a comparable price to say Daphne's, but in a very nice sit down settting. The waitress was super helpful and friendly. There are numerous menu items for under $6.00. My boyfriend had the steak and chicken kabobs and they used filet mignon for the steak. They apparently started out as to go place, but have switched since to a sit down restaurant.

So wifey and I were recently in Temecula, and really enjoyed our lunch the here the last time we were in town. We decided to order the Greek fries, since we loved them so much last time. But this time, they left out one of the main ingredients....the gyro meat!! Now I will say I still liked them , but how do you screw up one of your original dishes??? I had this daily special that was a salad with bacon, peppers, shrimp and this tomato vinaigrette. The shrimp were good, but the rest of the salad pretty much sucked. There was waaaay too much dressing, and it was entirely too sweet. ick. My wife ordered this salad that we really loved last time that included black beans, corn, feta and a few other things. This go-round, it was pretty much all lettuce and just some of the toppings. Last time we had it, there wasn't any lettuce in it at all, which was what made it great. I have to say I'll pass next time we're in town, an inconsistent restaurant is almost as annoying as my ex wife

Very good! Would liked to have sat outside as the atmosphere is better, but it was too windy. The inside is small and kind of plain. I recommend: Hummus appetizer plate - 4 diff flavors all delicious! Chicken Scampi - I ordered this and I would order it again My brother ordered the mixed grille Kabob plate. I tasted the lamb and it was flavorful. Generous portions - you will be stuffed! Try it if you love Greek food or pastas. Yum yum!

Great food, horrible service! Was sat in a back corner where the lights didn't work; pitch dark, couldn't even read the menu. Then waited 15 minutes to get a servers attention just to get water. Then another 10 minutes before my wife had to go chase down the manager so someone would take our order. We nearly left if it wasn't for the fact we were starving. Manager served us and gave us complementary dessert but after making excuses why we hadn't been attended to, blaming others. Nice setting, very classy feeling and high quality Mediterranean food. Potential five star rating if service wasn't so crappy.

  • Mary B.

The food was very good, but I gave it two stars because of the noise from an adjoining site (a very loud biker's metal band), and the horrible, DISGUSTING bathrooms (you have to go outside to use them, and I think they're shared with a biker bar). Waiter told us fried ice cream was available for dessert, but after we ordered it, one minute later he came back to say the kitchen was closed.

Awesome food, great atmosphere, definitely on my short always up for it list! I had an unbelievable lunch there and was very impressed, not only with the food, but the service, atmosphere, and friendliness of the entire staff. I love Mediterranean cuisine and haven't had it since I moved out West from the East Coast. I'm very happy now to be near Temecula and look forward to coming back here again and again! I sat outside and was able to enjoy the lovely weather as well outside and was surprised to see as many people eating outside as I did on a slow weekday. The meal was great from start to finish, but the finish left me laughing and made for a great trip. The owner of the restaurant came out to serve our Turkish coffee and the story with it was great as well. What a great touch! Keep up the good work!

I've eaten at Soro's many times. The food has always been really good, the atmosphere has always been a hit with out of town friends, and the poor reviews they sometimes get were probably days that they were understaffed or a just bad day in the kitchen. It happens from time to time in restaurants. I've eaten there enough times to give them a 4 star. I enjoy the wait time, as it's part of the ambiance. I don't like being rushed in a nice ambiance type place. It's not the type of place to go if you are in a hurry or easily get cold. The management NEEDS to make sure that all those gas heaters are cranked up and ready to warm the outside if they are to make use of the patio which is such a nice experience in good weather. It does suck that they have to share the bathroom with the Beer and Wine Garten next door. 20 years ago, this building was a McDonald's people!! They've come a long way from McDonald's and Sweet Lumpy's BBQ. Management of any reputable restaurant should consider hiring only excellent servers and let go the ones with attitudes. There is no room for servers with bad attitudes, and plenty of servers looking for work in a bad economy. I've always had good servers there. The owner is very friendly and goes out of his way to welcome customers when he is there. Patrons expect that from little privately owned places. Sometimes restaurants just have bad days. It happens. In the scope of things happening around the world, bad service and bad food should not ruin a place if it happens just once in awhile. With that said, the management should pay CLOSE attention to who their employees are and school them properly in order to meet customers' expectations if they are going to charge $$ for their fare. A server that gets a legitimate bad review should pay the boss for having to comp a meal!

What's not to like? The atmosphere is great, especially with all the upgrades to the patio. The staff, engaging and courteous. The food unreal! One of the best all around places in Temecula. Dylan & Papa Soro's personal touch makes each visit feel like you are part of the family.

Awesome! Went there Saturday night and had several samplings of hummus and the gyro plate. Everything excellent! Cheap wine, friendly waiters, great food, all you can ask for.

this is one dinner, a couple of hours of my life, and a good chunk of change i will never get back. the hostesses were inexplicably confused, the service was severely slow and inattentive, and the food was mediocre at best. the only thing that i enjoyed about my experience was the hummus sampler appetizer plate (all 4 types were absolutely delicious) and the saganaki (very yummy). however, if you order anything that goes with pitas, save yourself some trouble and go ahead and ask them to bring you extras - they only brought two (for our party of 4) and every time we asked for more, they took forever to bring them out and would only give us two at a time. for dinner, i ordered the falafel plate, which was so dry i could barely choke it down. i ended up leaving most of it uneaten - a waste of $14. other people at my table ordered the gyro plate or fish and chips. they all seemed satisfied with their food, but agreed it was nothing exciting. we also continued to have the same issue with pitas throughout the meal. (seriously, is there a pita shortage?! why so stingy?) we were seated outside on the patio, which was fine when we arrived, but since our dinner easily dragged on for at least 2 hours, it got pretty cold. we asked for them to light one of the heaters nearby, but turns out they were both broken. i don't consider us to be a high-maintenance group, but we couldn't get our server to lift a finger for us. we pretty much just had to flag down anyone who happened to walk by to get us whatever we needed, including the check. this was easily one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences i have ever had. if you are seriously craving greek and end up here - consider yourself warned.

Slow service, broken chair, bland food. Even hungry this place was poor. Go to the Cheese shop instead.

Let me start by saying why didn't anyone in Old Town yell to us.."Don't go in there"!!!!The outside patio with the lights in the evening was intriguing enough to have us give this Mediterranean restaurant a chance. It went bad once the hostess opened the doors to seat us inside. The decor was horrific. My 2 yr old daughter has better taste than that place. The black walls were chipped, the curtains and rods were depressing, the chairs made me want to cry, the Greek feel that they were going for across the top of the ceiling was so sad I felt embarrassed for them. The flooring was terrible which made me worry everything else was not up to par. The dishes were just basic buffet plates as well as the silverware. Ok, so that's just the visual. Now my server..He was a sweetheart, I guess,.... The menu...a bit too many options for a 4+star restaurant. I decided on the spinach pie which came with yogurt dip, hummus and pita bread. This place is greek right? Why weren't the pita's homemade??? I don't doubt it for a second that these were purchased from Ralphs on the day old aisle.. it was like eating a sandal or plywood. The hummus...again this place is Mediterranean....I've had better in a premade tub at Trader Joe's. Now lets move on to my spinach pie...it was watery and cold in the middle which led me to believe that it was frozen; either bought from costco OR they premade it and froze it to defrost for another days serving. It was absolutely flavorless, the pastry dough didn't flake like it's supposed to, the cheese didn't pop out at me whatsoever. It was something you'd expect out of a frozen meal from the grocery store. My tea was fresh and obviously they clean their tea machine. I would have felt better going out for the evening and having someone pick pocket me and steal my $40 vs. actually having to give that to this place who call themselves fine dining. Oh dearheart's....so not fine dining...maybe you yelpers who are calling it fine dining are just too used to the local chain restaurants...live a little go to another city. All in all I would have been better off doing it like in high school...grabbing a couple of drinks during the night then running through Alberto's taco shop for a burrito....I actually got a sitter and got dressed up to go out to eat at this place...I felt violated...even my mouth felt that way....on to the bathrooms...that's hilarious about what the others wrote...I couldn't wait to get out of there so we didn't get to experience that but that would have thrown me over the top I probably would have needed therapy. DO NOT WASTE your time, money, taste buds, calorie intake for the day on this place. As my kids would say....that was naughty right mommy? I can't even get into my husbands terrible meal...some leaf wrapped AGAIN premade dish from a tray that had tin foil over it and they pulled it from the fridge...way tooooooo many corners are being cut here and I told my husband as soon as we walked in OMG let's just leave now. I don't even want to give this place a 1 star but I have to choose something...they need to have a warning star that blinks and screams through your speaker...get drunk before dining...If the owners read this PLEASE take note-Take the white ceiling boards down and the burgundy see thru tarp sheet...paint the ceiling black THEN put up some sexy linens...get rid of those chipped walls...majority of your decor has to go EXCEPT for the great gaudy mirror...that can stay...rip out your flooring, stain the concrete if you can't afford good flooring. Give the chairs to the goodwill IF they will take them and buy good chairs, nice linens, make your food HOMEMADE like GREEKS do!...and your pita bread should be your signature along with your hummus...work on that...I'm pretty sure that Tom's Burger and Boards which are drive thru restaurants have better pita bread than this place. Anyways..I was so pissed that they stole my money...I can make a better peanut butter and jelly sandwich then the reheated terrible meal I ate here. I've only eaten at one place worse then this place and that was in Idyllwild...go figure.

We stopped in on a Saturday night right before the kitchen closed. However the server did not tell us this as we were ordering. My husband and I shared a spanakopita. It supposedly is only served as an entree not an appetizer. We were charged the full entree price but did not receive the salad or the hommos that goes along with it. When we brought it to the manager's attention he claimed the server was new and knocked $4 off the price. The food was delicious, but $8 for a glass of wine? Well, it is Old Town Temecula.

We have been to Soro's three times in recent weeks, all at lunchtime and have been very impressed by the quality of the food, the service and general atmosphere. The kabobs are great, as is the grilled Norwegian Salmon. The basmati rice is the lightest I have ever had. Prices are reasonable. On Saturday, (first day of spring), all tables had fresh flowers on them adding to the ambience of the terrace area where we were seated.

Sooo...we just finished our Sunrider Jeep and Winery tour...and were dropped off in the Starbucks parking lot with plans to dine at a different restaurant further down the street. However, we were both in dire need of a restroom, and Starbucks closed just seconds before we could get there. So we abandoned our previous plans and made a dash for the nearest establishment that looked like it had both a restroom and food. Sadly, they had no bathroom (we had to use the ones at the beer and wine garden....where I learned there are some very dirty, disgusting people in this world). Anyway, fast forward back to Soro's. We had a very nice waiter...I'm sorry I can't remember his name. Very attentive. We had the hummus platter to start. Wonderful! And then I had the falafel platter for the main event. Again, soooo good! My friend had the gyro platter, which she liked, but there was so much of it that she couldn't finish. And when the check came, I was pleasantly surprised....I'd spent more on a pub brunch that very morning (admittedly, it was a very fine brunch).

A new gem in Temecula, that is a must visit! I read the earlier reviews but instead of calling the inside dining area small, my wife and I prefer "intimate." The patio area is large and in the heart of Old Town, our favorite place to hang in the valley. Papa Soro sets the tone right when you walk in with a hug and a greeting. The man is very passionate about his business and will talk to his customers. His son can be found working the grill or on the floor, is a young Soro for sure and knows his food. It is one of the more unique but simple menus with dishes you cannot find anywhere else. We have had the lamb (shank or rack,) saucy chicken is to DIE for, and the seabass special two weeks ago was flaky and cooked perfectly. they also have some more basic dishes for pickier kids. We have brought 3 other couples in the last 2 months and already had some memorable evenings with Papa Soro working his magic preparing shrimp scampi in the dining room. If you like space or quiet, DONT go here. My wife and I are professionals restaurant goers, and this place quickly jumped to the top of our list. Bathroom situation is the only negative, must head next door to beer/wine garden or greyhound bus station restroom..Ask for Papa Soro or Dillon when you go, you will be treated right.

I had the unfortunate chance to eat here when my in laws came into town because there was a 1.5 hour wait at the public house. Both me and my fiance both agreed that the food was extremely average. I have definitely had better greek food at a restaurant that was less than 10 bucks a plate. Very bland, the baklavat, which is my favorite dessert didn't even get me excited. The worst part was the service and how we were treated. We got multiple glasses of wine each for the four of us. We had to ask for one glass 3 different times for my mother in law and ask a 2nd time for a side salad we had ordered. I would understand if it was busy but there were a total of 4 tables in the entire restaurant. When all was said and done the bill was $171. I have worked in the service industry for a number of years so if you get below a 15% tip from me you did an absolutely horrid job. I tipped $20 for a grand total of $191 which I thought was generous considering how awful it all was. Much to my surprise when I checked my credit card statement they had charged me $201 and not $191. I called the restaurant to let them know and specifically asked that I wanted it looked into because if it was a mistake I understand but if someone literally tried to change the receipt to get a bigger tip than I wanted action to be taken. I also just let the manager know that I thought everything was extremely below average from start to finish. I rarely ever complain and usually just let me wallet do the talking if I think a place stinks. This time though I went out of my way to tell them it was a very unpleasant experience. The manager apologized and said he would look into it and call me back right away tomorrow and get the error fixed. The extra $10 they charged me was never refunded and I never heard back. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had hands down and I go out of my way to tell every single person who asks me for a good restaurant about my horrible experience. Bad publicity and this review could have been avoided if the manager actually followed through on what he said and got back to me and refunded the money. I would have even tried the restaurant again as I love this type of food if the manager offered me any sort of incentive to come back. He did a terrible job if I owned the restaurant and my manager treated a customer like this he wouldn't work there much longer. Don't ever go there extremely overpriced, horrid service, and dishonest employees.

It was ny first visit to Temecula and my girlfriend and I were looking for good food. This restaurant caught our eye because of its welcoming atmosphere. We had a chicken kabob sandwich and a Greek gyro; both were amazing! Very authentic and full of flavor. The service was fast and friendly. The owner was friendly and came to talk to us like we were family. He personally cooked bananas foster for us table side! It was the best dessert I've ever had! I will definitely be coming back!

Never Again!!!! My husband made reservations for us. We have never been here before and most likely never will. Greek salad was great, and the lemon chicken over rice was yummy as well, however, after about 30 min. into the main dish I started to feel dizzy, my stomach cramped up, I felt like I was sweating bullets and just wanted to vomit! I did have 2 glasses of wine but I knew that wasn't what made me feel like this. I told my husband to ask for the check and I left to the car. We didnt even get to finish our food. After driving about a block away I had him pull over!!!! I threw up every single bit of that food and felt 100% better. I believe I got some sort of food poisoning most likely from the salad since it was the first thing I ate. Next day my husband went to work and told his friends we went there and before he could tell them what happened they all said they had gotten sick after eating there as well. WITH THE RUNS!!!!!!!

When I first read the reviews we were skeptical about the food and the experience but we were pleasantly surprised. The meat dolmades were DELICIOUS. Babaganouj was well executed, salad was very fresh and the charred Chicken was charred, moist and delicious. Staff was attentive and made our birthday celebration special. I would recommend that you give this fine restaurant a try.

I ordered the feta omelette with house potatoes and my socks we actually knocked off my feet. This was one of the BEST breakfasts of my life with no exaggeration. You MUST go here! The outdoor dining area is beautiful on a raised deck a bit above the street so it's private but not isolated. The food is expertly prepared with a very interesting menu. Staff are friendly and service is very good. The music from a nearby bar does spill in but you're outside and that's to be expected. Overall it's a great dining experience very flavorful.

From the service to the food, this place is truly extraordinary. It's family owned, so it has that intimate feel when you walk in. All of the waiters have always given me phenomenal service, and the food is to die for. I always get Soro's favorite chicken or the curry; both are excellent choices. All of the food is packed with flavor and is more than satisfying every visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for some really fantastic Mediterranean food while in old town!

Soro's has always had a beautiful atmosphere with an inviting array of foods to fit your pallet. I've gone to lunch with my best friend as well as invited my family to a Sunday dinner and it has always had the perfect dishes to impress them all. We love the way we are greeted every time we walk through the doors, as if we're family they've been waiting for. I hope you try it out and have the same experience I've had for years.

Yes, the price may be on the upper end of casual dining, but well, well worth it. The food and atmosphere beats any one of the 50 new "gastropubs" in old town, all of which serve slightly different versions of each others food. Papa, the owner, is a dynamo. The atmosphere is intimate but casual. The food is outstanding. This will now be our top choice on Friday or Saturday night in Old Town.

Bleah. Save your money. It was my first time to Old Town Temecula and my friends and I had just spent the day at the wineries and we were looking for some food to soak up the alcohol (well I was especially since I'm a weak sauce). I wasn't terribly hungry but could use something to munch on to help me bypass the headache that comes with wine for me. My cousin had suggested trying this place but unfortunately she didn't get a chance to see their prices (FYI the $$ rating on yelp is a bit misleading since their food is pricey). The prices on their websites are outdated, but even those old prices are too high for the quality of food you get. I ordered the gyros plate, thinking that's a safe bet on how to gauge a Mediterranean place. I mean, can't be too hard to mess that dish up right? And for $21 it better be at least decent food right? NOPE. Such a stingy portion of food. The gyro meat looked like mystery meat and it had no flavor, I had douse it in tzatziki to make it bearable. And for $21 there wasn't really that much. All it came with was rice, pickled curry vegs, and pita bread. The pita bread was decent but when we asked for more they asked exactly how many pieces we wanted. Really are you going to be that stingy? 3 members of the party ordered the same dish. Just give us another basket. On their website the dish USED to come with apparently hummus and salad not anymore and was much cheaper. Honestly, save your money and just go to Daphne's for better gyros. Seriously $21? Our server was nice (wasn't the same person we asked the pita from). But honestly save your money. And please Soro's invest in a Brita filter or something to get that tap water taste out. Not worth my money.

WE LOVE IT! Soro's Mediterranean is a lovely place in Old Town Temecula. Soro's features fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented dishes served by professional and friendly servers either in the quaint outdoor patio among the trees, or in the private "old world feel" dining room. Here's is the BEST PART: Papa Soro and Sheri greet all of the guests, and they go around making sure that everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. This is a lovely touch of customer service that you won't find in many places...they CARE about their guests, the quality of the food, and your entire dining experience...I highly recommend it! Coming from a Middle Eastern family, it's very hard to find resturants that taste just like (or even better than) home! Soro's is delicious! I have been there for dinner as well as breakfast and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! I love the turkish coffee as well! The staff is so kind and the owner makes everyone feel like they are apart of his family as well. Will most definitley be back with my family to follow :)

Excellent customer service, fantastic cuisine, and cocktails. Came here for breakfast and it surpassed my expectations; tons of items to choose from as well as handcrafted drinks. My Irish Coffee was perfection with homemade whipped cream. The patio is beautiful filled with ambient lighting and unique decor. Would make a romantic spot for dinner when all lit up. Space heaters are great too so you can enjoy the patio all day.

Found this place at random while needing breakfast on our way through Temecula. What a pleasant and charming find it was. You can tell this place has grown organically by the mismatched chairs and plates and that's part of the appeal. We had the cinnamon apple French pita toast and a Greek omelet with real crispy fried bacon. Real bacon! They were both well executed and frankly unexpectedly good. There are dozens of tourist places on Front street, but this place is authentically good. I'm sure this place rocks in the evenings.

I cannot thank you all enough. I always enjoy a visit and I love the food and atmosphere. To be able to enjoy a glass (or bottle, as the case may be) of Retsina on the patio is an absolute pleasure. Now the only remaining task is to get more people to enjoy it. I'll keep trying. Oh, and the lamb shawarma was very tasty yesterday. Perfect for a little pre-Avengers movie meal (kudos if you get the reference).

I stop by this restaurant whenever I head out to San Diego, this became the Mediterranean place to eat for me and my husband. Unfortunately they made a change and hired a new chef, big mistake! The chicken Schwarna is NOT what you expect, sorry to say I will not eat here again. Honestly the waiter tried to make it right and had the chef remake it but it was not a success. Thanks for trying and the waiter was super nice but again I wouldn't see myself heading back. (The garlic sauce is horrible now as well) I must mention that I had taken the food to go and my nephew didn't care to eat it either.

Went to Soro's on a whim sometime in 9/2014 and enjoyed the atmosphere, food AND staff. We then returned a month later [after visiting the local wineries] and met "Papa" [owner] who blew us away with a huge platter of Filet Mignon, Grilled Chicken, Shrimp, Lamb racks, beautifully stuffed grape leaves Plus-plus much more! and all on a bed of various Mediterranean rices and salads. Everything was wonderfully complemented with a couple of bottles of great Greek wine [Papa's choices]. From the moment we walked in, I felt welcomed as if I was family. [Take note other business: Welcome your customers like Papa does and we will return over and over] This place is NOW my goto stop whenever I hit the T-Valley area and I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Visited this place tonight based on Yelp reviews. The restaurant is in charming old town. The décor is beautiful and would be perfect for a romantic evening out. Our server was very nice but slow. When we arrived we were one of two parties in the restaurant. We seated ourselves and looked at the menu. She took our orders for three glasses of water but took a long time getting back. I was starving so I ordered the Saganaki to start. Long wait and she didn't take our dinner order until she brought the appetizer. Dinner took forever to arrive. We went with entrée #1: Chicken Marsala - Great flavors Entrée #2 - Chicken kabob plate - Delicious Entrée #3 - Greek gyro plate - Wonderful None of the portions are huge. It helped that we got an appetizer and more pita bread but for the price I was somewhat disappointed in how little we got. I love Mediterranean food and this is definitely good place food wise. The atmosphere was charming and I would like return to try more dishes on their menu. The prices are a bit on the steep side so it'd be a special occasion trip most likely. I'll give our server the benefit of the doubt but I was turned off by how slow she was! Another couple arrived as we were there and they sat for a long while waiting for just their water. When we left our server was chatting with another employee behind the bar so it wasn't as if she was busy with other tables (there was barely anyone else there). Service is a big deal for me having worked in the industry myself so that's primarily where the star came off in the rating.

Came for lunch on a weekday afternoon. We had the hummus appetizer which was good. Things went off the rails after that, due to the fact that there was one server for the entire dining room. When our food came out, my wife's pizza was missing. 5+ minutes passed without a service check from our server, so I had to go find someone to tell about the missing pizza. My falafel sandwich was good, but the pizza looked and tasted like it was microwaved. Our server owned up to the mistake and to her credit took the pizza off the bill. Perhaps this could have been avoided if the owner was expediting in the kitchen instead of chatting with customers in the dining room.

I drove down to Temecula for breakfast and ended up here. Their traditional breakfasts (omelettes, pancakes, eggs Benedict) are fused with Mediterranean style, and the result is absolute perfection! I had 'eggs Benedict' in the style of steak au pouvre, and it was something else! Filet mignon, pita bread, mushrooms (and this fancy sauce that I forgot the name of) took the places of the traditional ingredients and it was crazy amazing! And the potatoes have like this curry stuff all over and it is just drool worthy. It is an amazing place, unlike anything you'll ever have! Definitely check it out.

Well i wish i could tell you that my experience was great, but I can't. My husband and I and his mothet and sister went to this restaurant on February 14th we were trying to find a place to eat and stopped in. It was horrible from the start the lady there greeted us and asked if we had a reservation we told her no and she said that she would need to speak to the owner. The owner came out doesn't even greet us but proceeded to speak loudly and say we can't take walk in, like we knew that, there was no sign saying that. As we were standing there two other women walked in and I proceeded to tell that the owner said we have to have a reservation, she proceed to tell us how great the food is, by then the owner came back to us to say that he had reservation for 16 people and right now he only has tables for 12. Because he was so rude we said ok and left but low and behold the two women who came in right after us without reservation never came out they were seated. It really put a nasty taste in our mouth we are wondering was it because we were Afracican American and they weren't. So we went to Mr Kabob restaurant which we have been countless of times and have always been treated well and the food is very good. I have no need to ever want to try this Mediterranean restaurant no matter how good the food is. .

My husband and I have been going to soros since they opened, the owner PaPa and his family are nice people. The food is great but the prices are way too much, and the portions have changed. (Smaller) I get a Greek gyro plate that usually comes with sliced meat on a bed of rice and a salad for $17.95 last night we went for Valentine's Day dinner and the same meal was $30 with only the meat and rice. We brought our son with us and ordered two plates but the waiter brought us out three plates so with two iced teas, one coke, cilantro hummus, a cheese appetizer which was very small and burned with the three plates was $129. And change. Way to expensive for hardly any food. When we asked the waiter what happened to the salad and why we couldn't order a gryo sandwich which is what my husband wanted he said the cook won't do the sandwich and to make it easier on the cook they got rid of the salad on the dinner plate. Really?! Isn't that the line cooks job to put a salad on a plate don't just get of it and then charge your customer two times more! So here's the run down an ice tea is $6 a plate of meat and rice is $30 and its $14 for a plate of hummus with two pita breads. Way to expensive. And it takes a long time to get your meal. Sorry but we won't be going back.

We went there for lunch. The service was great. Fast, very attentive, and very friendly. We sat outside, it was clean and set up nicely. We got the Hummus trio and They were excellent. The Mediterranean salad was great. I ordered the kabob plate. It was good, but not great. They have a pretty good looking menu. I will definitely return again.

Hands down, the best omelette I've ever had in my life. Seriously. I've been around the food industry for 25 years. Every single element of this dish was off the charts. Do yourself and everyone around you a favor and go here. Not to mention the owner and head chef is the sweetest human ever and LOVES what he does. I called him out to complement him on the dish and he came over and said "cook with passion and love" in a thick Mediterranean accent and gave me a kiss on my forehead. If I didn't live in boston Id be here every day. Bravo Papa.

A nice little restaurant. If offers little seating inside. If it's a nice day, then there are more seats outdoors. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. I tried the Trio Hommus as an appetizer and thought it was very good. The Lamb Stew was plentiful and tasty as well. I've been to other Mediterranean places and found some of them not as good and some of them better. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and meal and likely come back.

HUGE menu and good service! I ordered a falafel sandwich, and my husband had some kind of chicken curry. The sandwich was ok, but the curry was GREAT. The location is nice, but the indoor dining space is a little dark and cramped... I would recommend sitting outside.

We have eaten at Soro's about five or six times. It has never disappointed us. Whether we go for a full meal, the lamb gyro plate and dolma are awesome, or for a snack, Greek nachos are our favorite, we have never had an issue with the food or service. We were even able to get out seven yo to try new things he normally wouldnt! The fried ice cream is great, I never knew pita bread could be used as a desert item! And the service is amazing, Derek has taken care of us pretty much every time we've been there and even remembers our drink orders. Now I want Greek nachos.....

Food took a little time but was worth the wait. Veggie pastry pie was really good, as was the potato kafta. This type of food takes more time to make. It's a refined palate with lots of spices and flavors so maybe not for everyone, but my wife & I really enjoyed it.

Soro's Mediterranean is an excellent restaurant with a beautiful patio, delicious food, and great location. Chad was a very attentive and fantastic waiter.

Ambiance was nice on the patio. This was my favorite part of the meal. The food quality was average and they got 2 stars from me because they charge for EVERYTHING & service was mediocre. The 'dinner salad' is $4. It is a small cup of beans, tomatoes & cucumber, which were not up to par. You want a bit of cheese atop your pasta, that will be $4. Our bill for 3 people for lunch was over $60 which included no alcohol.

We dined here on a Saturday night with our best friends at around 9:30 PM. It was still very busy and it seemed like it would be a great spot since the weather was nice and the most of their restaurant is outdoors! Well... If you want a heater that works you have to ask for it, they just didn't automatically have them on! Wine selection was good, but overpriced for one featuring local wines! They should price those to sell more and help support local wineries that will in turn help support them. For the appetizer we tried the red pepper hummus (or hommus) as they spell it! It was okay, you can tell it's handmade...but the best was the pita bread!! OMG if I ever went there again that's all I would order, pita bread and butter! Lol! We ordered the beef stroganoff and what a let down that was! It was even their "special" for the evening. It was bland, blah, and cold! There were lots of chunks of beef but they were too big to be "bite size" and thats how you want a good stroganoff or goulash to be! You shouldn't have to use a knife to cut down big pieces of beef. My husband ordered the angel hair scampi, again what a let down! The sauce was cold, the shrimp were overcooked and the noodles were not al dente! For close to $20 they could at least get the pasta right! Nope, no such luck! I know it was a busy night, but there is no excuse to send out crap food at a high end restaurant no matter how busy you are, its just inexcusable! We might go back, but if we do I will make sure to send back and complain about any food if there are problems next time!

Oh my I thought this would be a great place for lunch but I was truly disappointed. I'm very thankful that we had a very apologetic waiter however it didn't change the issue that we had to wait an hour for our food to come to us. We forgot what we ordered and wasn't really hungry anymore. When our food finally did arrive I wasn't impressed. Maybe because I wasn't excited about eating anymore or that it just didn't look appealing. Like I said 4 stars for the waiters attitude 1 star for the restaurant.

My stomach is turning as I write this review and give them three stars, because I didn't want to. I've always thought this place would be at least a 4. Walked by it many times after the farmer's market, finally, we decided to stop in here for lunch while my father-in-law was in town. My husband's family is Mediterranean so I thought this would be a great chance to come here. We started with the tabouli, babaganoush and hummus with pickled turnip and while they were good, they weren't generous with the pita bread, in fact, we had to ask more than one occasion to bring us some more pita bread. The pita bread also wasn't fresh, or so my father-in-law said, I do agree with him. I had the gyro, though good, it was overpriced and wasn't too generous with the filling. My father-in-law at the falafel and so didn't my husband and neither one of them finished theirs because they said the bread wasn't fresh. This place is quaint, cozy with very whimsical decor, makes me feel bad about the review, but it is what it is. How I see it, is if you don't know good Mediterranean food, this would be good to you, but otherwise, it's three stars.

Halfway thru driving back home to Carlsbad after a weekend of camping in Big Bear- hunger hit and it was time to stop for food. Decided to stop in Old Town, Temecula and look for a bite to eat- such a cute little town with a western meets modern vibe! Mediterranean was what caught our eye as soon as driving into town, but we thought we'd continue driving slowly to see what else they offered. Wine tasting..a burger spot..a few fine dining...but alas nothing compared to Mediterranean. Soros won us over. And dang did it do us good! Clean eating- how can you go wrong~ After going over the menu (and wanting one of everything!) I decided on the tabouli. It was amazinggg! Unfortunately I cannot remember what my boyfriend has ordered (I was so emerged with what I had in front on me it was delicious!) but I know he cleaned his plate just as well as I did! Also, something that's small that's a big deal to me at restaurants...the taste of their water. How some people can say "water has no flavour" I do not know. Because it does. 100%. And theirs is great just so you know lol. So when in/passing thru Temecula and you just don't know what you want- go to Soros! Little pricey but so soo worth

HEADACHE, UPSET STOMACH AND DISAPPOINTMENT AFTER THE MEAL...The three of us dropped 160.00 and were not satisfied. The lamb chops ( 27.00) were either frozen or had gone bad..they had a funny taste which was quite unpleasant. Son ordered a chicken dish which was mediocre The appetizers were not bad ...all the food was served quickly which leads you to believe that it was already made and just heated. The desserts we ordered at nine bucks a piece were highly overpriced, 90% of it was frozen with most of it being cream..not good. Sorry, Soros, this was our first and last time..you won't see us again. You get two stars because the waiter was exceptionally nice and very polite. On a sunday, there were hardly three couples who came to eat in the evening.....looks like you are losing customers.

I have heard numerous compliments being paid to this restaurant and I have to say after my first visit today, it lived up to the hype. We were greeted by a friendly staff and the owner makes you feel like family from the second you walk in. I have severe food allergies and the owner went to the kitchen and prepared my meal personally to ensure that it was done right! I have never had such a tender filet mignon that it required no steak knife at all, just a fork : ) Not one complaint!! My son has not stopped talking about the gyro. Absolutley AMAZING! Good job! We will be back!

This is a solid 4. 1st time here so it may be 5 star later. Sat outside and love the atmosphere. The staff was very nice when I asked if we could sit outside though my reservation was for inside. We had the nachos for an appetizer. Very good, had olives, pita chips, beef and lamb and of course cheese. I'm sure there was more , but I just know it tasted awesome. One little criticism is that there was not very much meat in the nachos. What was there was good though but in my opinion there should have been more. I highly recommend trying the chicken curry ,spiced hot. Our waitress, who was very good and very nice, talked me into trying it. So glad she did. I this case there was plenty of charbroiled chicken cooked just right. Lots of rice and some pickled vegetables that I really liked. When we left one of the employees shook my hand and thanked us for coming by. It was a very good experience overall. Give it a try!

I feel a need to report here my experience because I went here because of the reviews. The place was empty on a Saturday evening; this should have been a clue. We started by ordering cocktails. I ordered off the menu, an old fashion. It was awful; the waitress apologize admitting that it was the first one she ever made and she followed a recipe. I was shocked that the she had to make it. If the waitress is also responsible to make drinks, the owner should train them to make, at east, the drinks on their menu. The food was actually very good but difficult to enjoy because they decided to vacuum the floors while we ate. When you drop over $100 for a meal, you do not want to feel like you are eating in a low end diner. If they offer take out, I would highly recommend it but if you want a nice experience, go elsewhere.

Soro's Mediterranean is the spot to be any day of the week. Not only do they provide high quality service, they provide an enviroment that makes you feel like family. The food is beyond amazing, price is very afforadable and the atmosphere makes you want to listen to Frank Sinatra while enjoying some red wine with some Greek Gyro Nachos. With Summer coming up, i highliy recommend planning a trip with the family if your ever in temecula, i give Soros Mediterranean 10 stars!!

  • Wythe D.

Beer list was decent. Appetizer we went for was hummus - it was just OK; at a Mediterranean place I expect the pita to be warm and fresh, not baked there fresh but at least not microwaved warm and bordering on hard. I had spanikopita, the phyllo dough was not crisp, even on top. Filling was passable but I was expecting better based on the positive reviews. Dining partner had potato and cauliflower curry - the potatoes had a almost hard texture, again had me thinking microwave. Server was very friendly and checked on us often but the place was pretty dead on a Friday night, that should have been the tip off. Not worthy of a return visit.

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here tonight, this was our first time here and we had a lot of options to pick in the area, we walk upto take a look at the menu and a couple eating said the food was really good so we decided to take a chance. I'm glad we did, the food was amazing!!!! It was really really good. And the owner came to our table and we thanked him.

I am not one that awards 5 stars very often. I also don't write many reviews, because I'm not that easily impressed. But Soro's is a diamond in the rough. We spent the weekend wine tasting in Temecula, and stumbled on this absolutely amazing, family owned Mediterranean restaurant. The staff is warm and friendly, providing top notch service. Let me tell you guys--- the soups are delectable! We ordered a few dishes to share, and were blown away by the quality. We live in Huntington Beach, and cannot wait to come back and eat at Soro's. GREAT PEOPLE, AWESOME FOOD :). Nothing else in Olde Town even comes close.

I came here for lunch with my husband, and we had a nice time. We sat outside on the patio and shared the Greek Nachos, which were great! The portion size wasn't as large as most nacho appetizers I've had at places, so I would say they are good for 2 people to share. They were covered in feta and olives - a unique twist on traditional loaded nachos. We also got sandwiches/wraps, which were pretty good. It was a light lunch, so we weren't stuffed, but it hit the spot. Prices were decent and service was friendly. I would go back.

Pretty tasty eats here. This Mediterranean place is nestled right in the heart of Old Town Temecula. We enjoyed a pleasant dining experience outdoors on their patio. Our server was attentive and gave recommendations for appetizer and entree choices, which were well received. Pita chip nachos featuring gyro meat, yogurt sauce, and goat cheese? Yum! Beef curry over basmati rice with a good spicy flavor? Delicious! The menu has many options: vegetarian, seafood, chicken, beef, and lamb dishes as well as some enticing sounding salads. The entree portion size could easily be shared with another, especially if you start with an appetizer. A beef entree and glass of wine runs between $30-40.

I have visited old town temecula a few times now but just recently ate at sorros. This place is def worth the stop. Awesome outdoor seating with some fun umbrellas hanging from the roof and not to mention very yummy food. Im a hummus lover and to be honest the hummus here is pretty good. Nothing to go extra crazy about but what I did find here was some GYRO NACHOs!!! I had never heard of such a yummy starter dish. Gyro meat mozza and feta cheese together! These perfect pita chips they have specially made tomato jalapeno. So yummmmy!!!! That alone is worth the visit The gyro plate is a great deal. Bomb gyrolamb and plenty of it. You could easily make three gyros out of how much they give you. Also the curry potato and cauliflower was delicious. If youre in old town walking around and want a place. This is def worth the stop and sit!!! Go Sorro!

I sat inside. Everything is just okay here. Granted I did not order an array of items. I had some hummas and some Greek Nachos (and added some Gyro meat to it). The nachos were cold. Meaning, the cheese was melting but was already like plastic by the time it got to the table. The meat was cold as well. Not the end of the world but it did make it become more along the lines of meh. The toppings were good and the hummas was good. I was very excited that they had St Paulies NA instead of the typical Oduals. For me, that is always a nice "treat". The service was okay. Nothing to really write home about but not bad. What was a little bit more head scratching was why the manager, possibly the owner kept talking very loudly to the servers...how to do this and that...who takes what...the tone and decible level made it a bit uncomfortable.

had dinner here with my wife last weekend and while I thought the food was good and the wait staff was friendly, I have to complain about the over priced Sangria. We ordered a pitcher and for $28 we were barely able to get one full glass as it was loaded with ice. We mentioned this after receiving the pitcher and was told this is standard. Now to my surprise to see I paid so much for so little ruined what otherwise was a great dining experience. Not sure if I'll be returning

First time here. There was a piece of hair in my salad, other then that, it was pretty good. No I was being sarcastic!! The worst experience ever!! Besides the hair in my salad, they forgot my ganoosh. How could you forget the first thing we ordered?!? And the Ahi Tuna Salad I ordered, the tuna didn't even taste fresh. I would definately not reccommend this place to anyone, unless you like hair in your salad.

This place is ok but they don't give you much on your plates for the price you pay for Greek food! I have been to Daphne's Greek cafe and there food is awesome there! The owner seems nice but his son seems like a bad virus there. I had ask him some questions about culinary school students working there and he gave me a attitude and said he doesn't believe in people that go to school from culinary! Really they won't hire you if his son thinks your to good for them. All there employees are family and the ones they have there they will jus fire you and I found this out from employees working there. If you think there food is good don't be surprised how bad they treat there staff. Besides that there food is just ok not great! Change your attitudes there and don't let your son ruin your business. Thank you :)

Me and my friends are vegetarian so we were so happy to find a place on our visit to Temecula that offered so many options! And we weren't disappointed, food was great, so was the wine and outdoor patio. Chad was our waiter and even though the place was packed he was very helpful and attentive.

Only been here once for a glass of wine and appetizers on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Wife's side of the family is Middle Eastern and does a lot of cooking, so we are somewhat picky about things. We shared a combination plate and enjoyed everything on it. The service was very nice, and we enjoyed sitting by the fountain people watching. Will be back. (My policy is not to give 5 stars on a first visit - consistency is important.)

First off the food isn't bad but the pricing could definitely be better! Our server was outstanding but there's a man (not sure if he is the owner or manager) that yells at his employees in front of costumers! Not good for business. Also the menu is way to over whelming and doesn't make sense! I'm a big fan of the show restaurant impossible and that would be a big NO NO!! They definitely need to cut down their menu! I wouldn't go back just because looking at that menu gave me a headache! They shouldn't call themselves a Mediterranean restaurant it's more fusion style.

I felt like they ripped me off and I don´t like it at all!!! I stopped by this place about a month ago. I only wanted an appetizer and a couple glasses of wine. I ordered their Hommus wich it was k. Pretty much the same that you can find in Walmart in the sales section. About the wine, I had two glasses that the owner recommended to me. Really good wine, I have to say. But the owner should told me first that each glass cost $11. So pretty much, after tips + tax I ended paying around $40. Never again! The restaurant looks very nice.

Honestly, I don't remember that much about the food. What I mainly remember is the loud obnoxious off-key music coming from the the bar/roadhouse/whatever next door. It turned what could have been a pleasant dinner but the awful music (I hope it was karaoke and not a band trying to make a living) make me want to get out of there as fast as possible. The other thing was a bathrooms which were shared with the aforementioned roadhouse. I also thought the prices were a bit high for what you got. Unfortunately the food took a back seat to the price/atmosphere. I might try it again if I happen to be in Old Town and happen to be hungry and the roadhouse next door doesn't have its ear bleeding music playing. But with so many choices to eat in Old Town...meh, maybe not.

  • Laila N.

Plain and simple - Good food and good service. But really small restaurant and the bathroom is outside kinda behind the building by another outdoor bar. And its only one bathroom so it took forever. My boyfriend and I were in the area and a local told us about this place, so we thought we we give it a try. I enjoyed my food, the boyfriend thought his was ok. We will probably try another restaurant if we were in the area again. But if you like Mediterranean food, then I would definitely give this place a try. Just use the restroom beforehand!

    (3)
  • Caligirl P.

Food was pretty good, service was great....my man had the vegetarian platter which was a great mix of all the favorites topped with curry yumminess....I had the kafta and while it was flavourful it was in fact quite dry (needs some olive oil in the recipe i think) please replace your bread baskets, they are either cracked and pokey or have so much dust sitting in them it's just not attractive...also consider speaking with the other business owners that share the restroom and consider giving that all in one bathroom a lil TLC - we're all paying enough that a clean restroom shouldn't be too much to ask for.

My husband & I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were slightly apprehensive because the place looked empty. We hadn't had much lunch in our culinary experience in old town Temecula so this made us even more fearful. However, I'm so glad we took a chance we had a delicious lunch of kabobs & lamb! We are definitely coming back here that next time we are in Temecula!

We went out for dinner. And we were looking for Mediterranean food. So we found this place in downtown Temecula. Everything was fine we seated out side in the patio. They give us fresh Pita bread. So I order the plater something don't remember. Anyway But I was expecting. Something delicious. My dachis plate was great but my was so poor and dry. Only rice and kabet meat. So I order more pita brea and they brhoug me this old and cool pitta bread.. the price was expensive. I dont mine pay for a expensive dinner. But has to be good dinner. So won't come back again. "OZ" :'(

RUDEST OWNER EVERRRR! My boyfriend and I had gone for valentines day, a waiter told us there was a seat for 2 in the back next to the door so of course we do. We were waiting for about 10 minutes to get our drinks, at least. Out of no where, this man comes up to us and starts yelling, telling us to get up. So we did, confused at the same time, but we did.. He asked us what we were doing and that seating ourselves was disrespectful to him and " stealing " from his store. He was in my boyfriends face to get us out. He literally told us to shut up. He told us that we can come back next time and he will give us the best food of our lives...HA. That was the first and last time we are EVER going to go there. He definitely did not keep it professional.

No one greeted us Bug in water and beer Both beers were ¾ full Moldy stale pita bread I ordered lentil soup and got what resembled clam chowder with rice in it and no spoon. Asked for a spoon and it took 10 minutes, boyfriend was almost done with his curry chicken by the time I got my spoon. When I got my spoon and got a better look at the soup, I realized it was not lentil soup. My lentil soup came after boyfriend was done with his meal and it was was not good and it had multi-colored spaghetti noodles in it, yuk So I asked for it to go bc I had an appt I had to be at, so I asked for my soup to go and the waiter brought me a thin styrofoam plate that would have melted and spilled everywhere So I asked for a soup to go container, and 5 minutes later he brought me the right kind of to go container but no plastic spoon or plastic bag, so I asked him for a plastic bag and plastic soon so I could take my soup to my appointment. He again took several minutes and brought me out a HUGE plastic soon, and his boss asked him what he was doing and the waiter was like, "she asked for a bigger spoon" so he leaves again and come back with a normal sized plastic spoon and said they did not have any plastic bags. I usually like to have a plastic bag so my food or soup doesn't spill all over my car. In this case, I wouldn't have needed all this to go stuff except he brought me the soup, forgot my spoon, and was the slowest server ever, so I have to take my food to go.... For $45 and over an hour it took (when there was only 4 other tables there) this was this worst lunch experience ever ...... I will not be back ever .....

This place has very friendly staff, we came and were assisted right away, they were perfectly fine with my fiancé and I changing tables three times, they also assisted us with bringing a heater to our table(which seems like hard work) after I had mentioned I was cold, our food was very good. The only negatives I have is that it's right next to a biker bar, and the biker bar sometimes has very bad bands playing very loud, and they share a restroom. After trying to find it several times, the waiter actually showed me the restroom and waited so that the drunk bikers would not harass me.

we had a group of 10 for valentine's day and it was fantastic. the staff was amazing. ashley worked with us to find a perfect reservation time and she was as pleasant as could be. the owner came out and greeted everyone and was a real hoot. our waiter was fantastic as well. the food was also delicious. would 100% go back next time we are in temecula.

EXPENSIVE!! I came with a friend for lunch and I paid nearly $20. for a Gyro, Fries and Iced Tea. That is just too expensive! The fries tasted like McDonalds, the Gyro was SMALL and the service was just ok. If I am going to pay almost $20 at lunch it should be so much food I have to take some to go and the service ought to be exceptional. Not so here. I didn't realize you basically have to eat outside which was ok, but I like the option of inside seating.

The patio is really nice! I've been here 3 times now and each time was good but definitely nothing to rave about. The owner is hilarious, he called my dad Brad Pitt and was joking around with us, but the food could be better.

Went for a late lunch early dinner with the girls. There were three of us...we started with cocktails. Two of us ordered vodka sodas and the other ordered a Blue Moon. We had two rounds before looking at the menu the waitress was getting off so she brought our drink bill and introduced us to the new waitress. We were shocked when we looked at the cocktail bill....it was $66 for two rounds of drinks! $12 a piece for the week vodka sodas. We assumed there would have been a Happy Hour price or something nope that is the regular price. We reluctlently ordered our dinner we were pleasantly surprised how good it was and it was priced fair. Our bill for three dinner plates was cheaper than our drinks. We won't be back because we felt the waitress should have done something when we brought the price of the drinks up ...but her attitude was oh well maybe they were strong. They were not. Beware of drink prices before ordering

I had the worst dinner there I've ever eaten. I ordered the Lamb Chops and paid 22.00 for the plate and the food was dried out and tasteless there was nothing special about the dish. My wife on the other hand liked her Gyro Lamb for dinner. I tasted great and it was fantastic. So Soro's gets a one thumb up and one thumb down. I love the patio dinning for a wonderful summer night. I will go back because my wife loves Soro's.

Very good food. Weather permitting sit outside. Great place to share a meal, wine and people watch. I've had many of their lamb dishes which have all been delicious. Recommend the Hummus Trio for an app.

Food was okay, it was a little pricey in my opinion. Our server was great, very attentive. Sat outside, the restaurant didn't look too busy at all. I'm not sure if I'll come back here again. We wanted to go to another restaurant, but that particular restaurant we wanted to go to, had a 45minute wait. We didn't want to wait that long, so we decided to check this place out, since my BF and I have never tried it before. So, it wasn't our first choice...go ahead and try it, you might like it! :)

Owner is a pissed off alcoholic drinking wine while he works pacing around smoking an e cig, butthurt at the world. I would NEVER invest my time or money at an establishment ran by such low life elder with a stick up his ass. Can't wait to see this restaurant FOLD and that building be for lease.

I had an early dinner here with the bf. The food was good but overpriced. We ordered the saganaki which was delicious but they only brought us two pieces of pita bread. I had to flag down the waiter for more bread. They had a decent wine selection and I enjoyed a very tasty glass of Moscato from the Temecula area. My bf and I split the kabob plate which turn out to be a big disappointment. The chicken kabob was decent and wasn't dry at all but the beef kabob was tasteless. The service is a bit slow which I guess would be okay if you want to have a long, lingering dinner. The patio seating was nice especially if the weather is warm. I think I would only go back for the saganaki and to enjoy a glass a wine. Next time, I'll skip out on the entrees.

The food was pretty good but the owners demeanor and interaction with his waitresses was unacceptable. There is no reason you should literally scream at two waitresses infront of a whole table of customers. I felt so unwelcomed after that. Not bringing my business back to this guy again.

Don't get me wrong, I still really like this place. It's just that the service was a bit slow and the patio seemed a bit unkempt. The server was fairly new and seemed to be on his own outside. Just after we got there it really filled up. On the plus side, there was a much larger vegetarian section on the menu. We started with the Greek Nachos (pita chips, olives, gyro meat, feta...) which my husband especially loved. We then split two different plates. He had the dolmas plate (stuffed grape leaves) and I had the lentil pic (sorry, can't remember what it was called!). They were both very good.

I recently came here for my birthday dinner, and I was blown away by their food! One word to sum up my experience: LAMB. I could seriously go on and on about how delicious their New Zealand lamb shanks were.. I'm not even a fan of lamb, so this was actually my dad's order, but I sat there the entire meal hoping he'd offer me some more (and he didn't, bc it's good enough NOT to share.. sigh). It was cooked so tenderly and served with an amazing beef bourguignon sauce, rice pilaf, salad, and hummus. The dish is a bit pricey, but so worth it for a special occasion. I had the Soro's special beef ($17.95), which was shish kabobs served with a red wine sauce. It was tasty bc the rice pilaf soaks up the yummy sauce, but I still dipped my kabobs in the amazing beef bourguignon sauce whenever my dad wasn't looking. Their saganaki is quite impressive. They bake feta cheese with herbs and brandy, and light it on fire in front of you to flambé it a little ($9.95).. kinda pricey but good with some warm pita and their spicy baba ganoush. Service was VERY friendly (although our seating hostess was a little slow... we waited for like 10 literal minutes after we sat down to finally receive our menus). My only major complaints were the bathroom--a disgusting unisex public restroom that seems to be shared by the honky-tonk bar next door--and the loud music that blares from the bar. It ruined the classy appeal of our beautiful outdoor dining experience (their decor is super cute, with twinkle lights and hanging umbrellas), but the food definitely made up for it. Ask to sit out doors.. the inside looked ugly.

Went here for a birthday dinner. Restaurant is cozy, seated right away, full service bar. Pita bread was the best I've ever had. White Sangria was tasty. I tried to order the spanakopita, but they were out, so ordered the vegetarian lasagna. However, when I sliced into the "lasagna," I was quite surprised to see it was baked curry flavored spaghetti. Now, I don't mind if a restaurant runs out of an order and let's me know, but to create a fake dish of what's actually ordered does bother me. I kid you not, the vegetarian lasagna consisted of a layer of melted cheese, spaghetti, loads of capers, mushrooms, carrots, and chunks of potatoes. POTATOES. In lasagna. The chef came out and started yelling out "Happy Holidays" to all the customers, coming around and making conversation, and when he reached our table, he said in a loud, jolly voice, "I made this dish especially for you! Very special! Fresh ingredients!" Before I could say a word, he flitted towards the kitchen and started yelling in either Greek or Italian. So yeah, my advice is don't order Italian food in a Greek restaurant.

  • Ginger G.

I will give them two stars because the location is amazing. If the weather is beautiful, sitting out on the patio people watching is absolutely delightful. However the actual food was not what we expected. Anyone who has experienced incredible Greek food would consider this at best MEDIOCRE. Our waitress was very pleasant. But we found the food to be mostly underwhelming. They claim they're cooking everything to order, which may be true, but they're NOT cooking with FRESH ingredients. It tasted 1 to 2 days old and prepped days ahead of time.

1 Star = Friendly & Informative Service 1 Star = Variety of Food at great prices 1 Star = Hot/Fresh, Great Tasting Food 1 Star = Amazing Desert -1 Star = No restroom inside When my husband and I arrived we were greeted right away and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We wanted the sit in the romantic ambiance of the patio however it was a little windy/chilly so we went in. It was small inside but it was mostly empty. Our waiter, Lou, came straight over and served our drinks. I had iced tea with lots of lemon and sweet n low. We were asked if we wanted appetizers and we thought the Cali Fries sounded good so Lou explained what they were to make sure we would like the "dill flavored sauce". Sounded good to us! It came in a timely manner. We never had anything like this before and it was a big hit for both my husband and I. Shortly after we received our main dishes. I had the New Zealand Style Lamb Chops bc it came highly recommended and it did not disappoint! In fact it was so good that I can't wait to eat my left overs tomorrow! Lou informed me that the sauce had mushrooms and since my husband previously mentioned I don't like mushrooms he suggested I order without them. (He said everything is made to order from scratch so I could remove anything! How refreshing!) The side sauce tasted like it had balsamic and onions with something else. I couldn't get enough of it! I was putting it on my flat bread, lamb chops and even my rice! Soooo yummy!!! My husband had the shrimp curry (medium heat) and loved it. Personally it was too hot for me but I'm a wimp! Lol. It was served over rice. We both received a side salad (Mediterranean style) and the cucumbers were what made it so delicious! Since we were splurging and ate all of our veggies, we decided to have desert. Lou didn't disappoint before so we took his advice to order the "hot ice cream". OMG! There were fresh crepes with a large scoop of ice cream that had been engulfed by crumbles, cinnamon & sugar, homemade carmel & chocolate sauces!!!! As if the main entrees weren't already heavenly!! This desert was superior to most "fried ice creams" I've ever had. My husband and I will be back every time we are in Temecula! This is a hot spot for sure! (Lou did inform us they will be adding on bathrooms in the future. And at that point I will give 5 stars!)

Cute place in Old Town. Decent prices and really tasty food. Stopped in for dinner last night around 8pm when Public House told us it was a 2 hour wait. Soro was down the street and was busy but no wait. Our table of four shared the Cali fries to start with and enjoyed it. If you love tzatziki sauce you will love these too. I had the gyro plate which was pretty good and the hubs had shish kabobs which were amazing. We could not believe how tender and good the beef was. Our friends also sampled the beef curry and fish & chips which they were also happy with. Really pleasant and friendly service. Our server was even nice enough to offer to split our checks after she initially brought us our bill. Cute ambience and good food. Me likey!

Stopped in there last night for dinner. We decided to try the Greek nachos (really?) and they were AMAZING. Very generous portion, for us anyway - we shared it and weren't really hungry after practically licking the plate. But I had the swordfish special anyways and it was also delish - very nicely cooked and seasoned. Props to our server Nikki too. 5 stars for the amazingness of the food and the service. The atmosphere is pretty casual - I'd say upscale cafe.

I'm sad to have to write a less than good review for this place, because I like its location, its ambiance, its staff and its patio a lot. The owner comes out and greets you, might even sing you a song or two. Very personable. Nice looking little patio for an informal date, but unless you're just having a glass of wine, I'd steer clear. Problem is, the food just isn't any good. It sounds good on the menu, but when it arrived, it had very little flavor. The food was cold (especially the meats), the rice was dry, and it's just not something I'm ever looking to pay for again. You'll find better cuisine at a hole-in-the-wall joint.

Came here for dinner with my husband while wandering around old town. We sat on the patio, very nice ambiance. Server was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. We had the saganaki as an appetizer, amazing! I think I would go back just for this!. The feta was wonderful, and the pita was so fresh! Dinner was good. I wouldn't hesitate in going back!

Very good service. The neighbor should be restricted on the noise they make. They have a very noisy bass system , no need for that. This place is very nice, there are some dead plants that detract from the ambiance. Maybe try a different layout for the tables. The food was great.

Pricey but delicious. We had fish and chips and they were pretty good though I wish I'd tried the sea bass. The fried ice cream and Turkish Misu (their take on tiramisu) are excellent.

Lamb shank dish was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I only post when things are 5+ and this is a winner! Son had Soro's favorite and that was a close second.. Btw the lamb was a perfect flavor not over gamey Wife had tepsi and it was ok.. Great flavor but compared to lamb and Soro's favorite it couldn't keep up... We had great service on a busy holiday weekend.

This was one of the worst experiences of my life. The service at this restaurant is terrible. The fact that after ordering the wait staff completely ignored the table for over ONE HOUR is indicative of the level of service. No pita bread, no attentiveness, no help and no interest whatsoever. The waiter who was bald was ignoring our table completely. After the food finally arrived there was no apology or anything. We weren't looking for anything for free, just an acknowledgment of their awful service. Don't bother going there if you want to be anywhere within a certain amount of time.

Came here for lunch. Had the Greek Gyro Plate-Delicious! The fresh made Pita Bread was Amazing! Turkishmisu excellent & rich shared with my man. Turkish Coffee- Delightful! Sat in the patio-lovely. The service was Great. I can't wait to come back.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner here and it was so good! The service was great and everyone there was so friendly and seemed genuinely happy for us. The food was very delicious too. Considering we had a buffet style dinner for thirty people the price was excellent as well! We also ate there just the two of us and it was awesome that time as well.

Rachel,Rachel, by the time I've posted this ,I hope you have quit waiting tables at Soros. Your service was superb! You belong in a place that has a real chef. How can Chicken Marsala be hot? Like hot pepper hot. I sent it back and the manager came out and explained that it is marinated in a chili sauce or hot pepper sauce of some sort before prep.Really? That's the strangest way to make Marsala ever. The salad was covered in zatar. Terrible meal for me.DH enjoyed his-but I honestly cannot remember what it was. The atmosphere and location hold great promise, but don't waste your $ eating here.

  • Andi K.

Food was delicious and service was great. Their hummus and falafel were tasty but their fresh pita was awesome!. You have to try the Turkishmisu, their version of tiramisu - they use Turkish coffee and hints of orange in the marscapone. We enjoyed eating on the patio. Only drawback; was the public restroom around the corner available for non patrons and the general community to use. It was definitely not sanitary let alone half clean. I decided to wait until we got back to the room.

Honestly, normally I don't like Mediterranean food so I had low expectations for this place. Looking at the menu didn't inspire any more confidence, but I took a chance on the chicken curry and was pleasantly surprised! I loved the chicken curry, it was like no other curry I've had, and went well with the hummus and the other Mediterranean elements of the dish. Friends had the Kafta Kabob and the Blackened Salmon Linguini. Both thought they were very good. My husband had the Soro's Favorite Shish Kabob (Laham Mishwi) and thought it was very good. Add a glass of red wine and I was very, very happy! One thing: It was a cold night when we were there and there is limited inside seating, so this might be better to go to when the weather warms up a bit because they have a large patio with outside seating. As it was, we were seated VERY close to our neighbors... who were very loud. Also, there is no restroom, you have to use the public one around the corner... yeah, that did not end well for me. Overall, I loved the food and would love to come back!

Super yummy! We hadn't been up to Temecula in a zillion years, so we decided to drive up and check out their 'old town'. Cute stores all around, but this is the best looking restaurant in the entire 'old town' area. It was pretty crowded when we went in. Plenty of outdoor seating options, all sun, all shade, half and half- just lovely. The inside did look cramped (as another yelper mentioned). My husband had the 'saucy chicken' which also came with salad, rice, and hummus. I had the falafel appetizer which also came with salad. The flatbread they brought to the table were delicious. We both enjoyed our meals and commented how the hummus was absolutely delicious. The menu was pretty extensive- even some Asian dishes. There's something for everyone. And two funny asides: 1. We heard some dishes inside drop to the floor and break...which was quickly followed by a loud 'OPA!' 2. Two patrons walked in after us and the owner (I guess) greeted them with 'Welcome, my friends!'. My husband and I couldn't see the patrons and we both thought he was going to start singing to everyone on the patio! A very jolly man, indeed! Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!

Went here for Valentines day dinner. The halibut was amazing, as was the lemon soup, gyro and lamb chop plates. I would love to go back and have the selection of the entire menu. The Valentines menu was very short in comparison to what the website states (I suppose due to the date).

I choose three stars because of the wording "A-OK". This place is tasty, the service is ok and the food is decent; bigger portions that you need- I couldn't finish all my food. I've had better food, but this place isn't bad. I would eat here again. It's not too expensive, and it's pretty close by to home. My one complaint is that it's kind of small inside and they tried to cram too many tables into one spot. I felt like I hardly fit into my chair as it was backed up onto a support post. It's a good thing I'm not a big person. So, in summary. The food is good, not the best I've ever had, but good. It's worth a try, you might like it.

Hubby ordered blackened salmon with linguini and he said was very good. I had shrimp curry hot with rice, hummus, pita bread and salad. Shrimp curry was so flavorful and delicious. Service was excellent. There was a drunk woman at the bar being loud and using profanity and upsetting guests and owner asked her to be respectful or she would have to leave. She left. I was very impressed with all wait staff. Food was out very quickly. Turkish misu in martini glass with citrus liqueur soaked lady fingers and chocolate drizzled with coffee was perfect ending to our Mediterranean food adventure.

This restaurant has so much potential, but keeps missing the mark. Lets say chef Gordon Ramsay would have a field day here for his "kitchen nightmares" show! Way too much stuff on the menu, the decor is very miss mashed and over done, overly priced meals, slow and mismanaged wait staff. Their gyros plate is $17.95, I can get that same meal and better tasting for $13 at Daphne's down the road. The shrimp scampi, $22, more rice than noodles, tails still on, made it very messy to eat. I knew I saw red flags when every meal is served with basmati rice and pickled veggies (we only had what looked like 2 slivers of pickled beets and lettuce?). We were also served cold pita bread, then flaming hot pita bread and the waiter quietly confessed they go through too much bread here, so was I eating reheated old bread or fresh bread, who knows?! They had no management over what waiter got what tables, took them 20 min to get people their checks after their tables were cleared. So for two plates and one glass of local wine,$52. Ouch, I've spent less for food at Disneyland and it tasted way better. Well, at least I didn't get sick! Oh yeah and their bathroom, which is outside, gross! I know its a shared bathroom for the businesses, but an air freshener and some bleach can do wonders!

I've been here 3 times and am stoked to have a great mediterranean restaurant to go to in Temecula. They would have gotten 5 stars hands down if it just offered a less expensive wine selection. With $40 for any bottle, it's a bit too steep. The food is always amazing and the cook even accomadates my vegetarian/vegan requests "off menu." That is a sign of a "real food" restaurant. I will deffinatly go back and frequent often.

First venture into Med food... Delicious. Started with the Gyro Fries and OMG! So good. Also got the Hummus Fiesta... Nom nom nom...\ Server: Frankie (girl) **** of 5 Spicah Pie for meal and... It was exactly as described... I didn't enjoy it much... The seared tuna salad was ridiculously good. OMG so good... And cheap!

I came here today for the first time and I have been wanting to come here for a long time and I was really disappointed! The food was very tasty but the service was so bad, I felt so bad for the server he was running around like crazy he was the only server in the outside patio. I would like to give this place another chance but I wonder if it is like this all the time?

I love this place. Every time I have gone through old town Temecula, I have passed this restaurant, but never stopped in. So on this particular occasion, I stopped in and....(drum roll please). It was fabulous food. Our server was awesome and very attentive my my daughters. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and all the staff was friendly. I do have only 2 complaints...So here goes... The menu was filled with wonderful things, that made my decision difficult. I ended up choosing the pasta trio and it was bursting with flavor! My eldest daughter ordered the shish kabob (filet mignon chunks). Which she raved about and she loved that it was cooked medium rare as she loves her meat. She is only 12, but I taught her well...and she would not stop raving about how much she loved the hummus! My younger daughter opted for something on the kids menu (fyi, this is not printed in the regular menu), she had penne pasta with marinara and alfredo sauce. She loved it! Their Dad ordered the vegetarian plate. I had a few bites of that and it was delicious. Aside from the food being awesome, it only left me with the feeling that I must return to try some of the other enticing selections on the menu. Now, for the other bad thing... The bathroom was something straight out of a gas station bathroom nightmare on your way to Las Vegas. A nightmare of bathrooms to say the least. It was a tiny CO-ED bathroom with dirty floors and just filled with gross nooks and crannies. The kind of toilet a female MUST "HOVER" over (if you know what I mean). So, go for the food, but make sure you empty your bladder before eating here and do not fill up on drinks or water, cuz you may find yourself doing the potty dance. So the consensus is 4 STARS!

Greek nachos Amazing, and you get a lot. I think the prices for the food are reasonable because you get quite a bit and its rich. Love sitting outside any time I come here, such a great theme they have going. It's in old town so the bathroom is outside(public). That's annoying, however, that does not count toward a bad rating.

  • Shanna W.

Servers were attentive without being overbearing...checked on me once after serving and were quick with the check and to-go box when I said I had to rush (misjudged my time lol). Wish I could've lingered longer. The food was yummmmmy and the patio was relaxing. I ordered the tepsi (lentil pie) and it was delish. Very flavorful and fresh. The salad was dressed perfectly and not overloaded with onions. I will definitely be back when I have more time to linger...love that they have so many vegetarian options. Only took off a star because I ordered off the "lunch" menu but this was definitely dinner size portion and price. If they had a lunch portion of this I'd be happier....I have dinner in the fridge now but I think they need to lunchify that menu a bit :)

First off, the service was great! Second, the food was fantastic. My 9 yo asked the waiter's advice on the spanakopita vs the lentil pie & after discussing both (and realizing she'd had spinach for lunch) lentil pie it was. Her meal was perfect for two of us to share and very flavorful. My husband got the gyro plate which was tasty, too. I'm hoping to return soon to try out more of their menu items. I really was delighted with my meal tonight.

I am not going to give this place 1 star because I did not get sick from the food so things could have been terribly worse but in this case was just bad. Where to start. Ok when we walk in. No one greets us there is no one around. We are a party of 4 and confused as to if we just sit down or should we wait to be seated. We end up just seating ourselves. Finally a server comes around. We ask questions about the menu, hes not helpful at all. We asked him if this is suppose to be a Mediterranean restaurant or Italian and he responds with "the owner likes to switch up the menu and put things on that he likes" ummm ok so are you italian or mediteranean?? No one knows. We order food. All 4 different dishes. They all come out looking pretty much the same. A pile of rice and some meat with brownish over cooked onions all over the place. Very bland no taste, meat was over cooked and chewy. The food was just not good at all. Will not be back. Looks cute from the outside. Will mostly draw tourists walking around thinking the place looks good... go elsewhere.

Have had some very good meals here. But tonight didn't qualify as one of them. Ordered lemon rice soup. Got tomato rice soup with whipping cream on the top. Server was nice, but it was apparent this wasn't lemon rice soup. Ordered filet kabobs rare - received them medium to medium well. Food was decent, just not what ordered - very disappointing.

Greek beer is $7.50 a bottle! Really? I ordered the ground beef and lamb lunch plate. I don't think it was cooked enough as meat appeared raw and was very chewy. I thought the hummus and salad were great though. I'd go here again, but order a different dish. And I agree with the comment that there are too many food items on the menu. They need to select their specialties and sticks with thorn.

This place is on Front Street in Old Town Temecula in the old Lumpy's BBQ building. There are 5 4-seat tables inside and many better seats outside on the deck. We chose to sit inside and that was probably a mistake. The wife and I both had the Gyro plate. It came with a small green romain salad and a small piece of tomato. The salad leaves were cut too large which made it ackward to eat. It also came with a bed of white rice and hummus with a single black olive in the center. Both were okay. The gyro meat (lamb?) was served very hot, plentiful and was good. The pita bread was hot and wrapped in foil to keep it that way. While eating the food we had to fight off about a dozen flies... as did the table next to us. Also, we had arrived just before 11am and the waitress was sweeping the floor which was very dirty/trashy. Seems like it was from the previous night. The meal itself was not a good value. With 2 cokes it came to over $25. I'm sure the prices are a bit higher because of the location. The waitress was very good. Soro's could easily be a 4-star eatery if the plate portions owere just a bit larger. And did I mention the flies?

Did a walk by with my friend after wine-tasting all day and thought Mediterranean sounded perfect with well, more wine. So we asked about the moscatos and rieslings and our server gave us a sample. We ordered a whole bottle. Sitting out on the patio was so nice with the lights and our chilled wine. Our server was very attentive, gave great recommendations, and really asked about food and wines we like. The owner even came around to check everyone's food, which I really like. The food is a little pricey but thats what you get in old towne. The food is far more superior to The Bank and other restaurants on the street. I got the curry chicken and my friend got a chicken kabob platter. Her hummus was amazing and my curry was the perfect middle between spicy and decadently sweet. We also got a chocolate souffle dessert that was to die for. Our server could not have been more attentive, filling our waters, filling our wine, and checking on us. The other light conversations around us were nice and it reminded me of an evening abroad.

Seeing 4 out of 5 star review is OUTRAGEOUS. But then, this IS Temecula and you'll find a line at such places as Swing Cafe. However, Swing Cafe is priced right for the quality and service is good. Soro's is a different story. Soro's rates #1 in my worse experience EVER at a restaurant. NUMBER ONE! Let me describe the factual events: 1. We debate eating at Delany's little cafe or Soros. I make the mistake picking Soro's. 2. After wandering around this place, we discovered how to be seated. Immediately we realize this place is a "diner". 3. Too cheap to turn on the heat, we froze at around 63 degrees for a loooong time. 4. Service started shoty, unless you expected a low-life diner. Music too loud, seating too close to each other. General atmosphere sucked. 5. We order. The Pita bread served tasted like bleach, bad sign that indicates lowest possible quality. Salad was a joke. 6. Then we wait. WAIT WAIT WAIT. 35 MINUTES we wait. No communications during this time. 35 minutes and no heat, which was becoming a serious problem, and no one cared enough to talk to us. The place was 75% empty. 7. Had to use the restroom. THERE IS NO RESTROOM. You need to go to a bar outside the building, behind a bar! A single bathroom, heavily used, outside the restaurant, in what appears to be another businesses facility, cold, wet, and grungy enough to make you lose appetite. 8. I come back and wait more and finally my anger did not allow me to sit. We ask for the food to go. Takes 5 mins. I suspect if I did not get up we would have literally waited 45 mins for mediocre food. And this place would not even give a **** about wasting 45mins of precious Saturday morning time. 9. Price: $30 for two people!!! 10. Took food home, consumed part of it ... you ... got ... to .... be ... joking. This is $8 a meal, food-court quality. Right into the garbage it went. Summary: Get screwed out of 45 mins of what should be relaxation time. Pay way too much for low grade meals. Get shoty service and bad atmosphere. And finally are served bad food that does not settle well. And I could have bought 2 pounds of top NY Steak for what I got screwed out of here. Soro's is a poster child for the eating-at-home movement.

Stopped here for lunch today on the way back to San Diego and was pleasantly surprised. Hadn't checked Yelp, just walked in. No one seated outside, which wasn't surprising given the cool near-drizzly weather. Greeted warmly by the host; dark and cozy inside, friendly service. Ordered the Mediterranean salad and the beef kabob pita sandwich for the two of us to share. The salad was a good size, and fresh with a light dressing and za'atar seasoning -- and accompanying warm pita. Yummy. The sandwich was piping hot, cut in half, and had the most tender beef, cooked medium rare (they didn't ask, but it was perfect) and some hummus tucked in with the lettuce and tomatoes. the only thing that might have improved it would have been a nice scoop of extra hummus on the side...or even a dab of baba ganoush. Maybe I'm getting greedy? It was flavorful, filling, and just right for lunch. The host said his Dad was the chef, and he helped us look for a bakery (I needed to take cookies to a meeting.) We'll be back next time we are in Temecula!

So happy to have more Middle Eastern restaurants in Temecula. I came with a group here on New Years Eve. I thought the food was very good, although highly overpriced. I did like how they had a vegetarian section of the menu. The service was great as well. I'd recommend.

I really hate to give them 2 stars, I really do. The place is so darling and the service was so nice but ZOMG this food is so over-priced for what I wouldn't even say is a good as Daphne's and I don't care for Daphne's. I'm not cheap when it comes to my food, if it's great food I will over pay gladly! I wanted to like this place so much, I really did. Growing up cooking and eating homemade Armenian food, which is comparative to Greek's (but I would say better on all accounts), it's really just tragic. The food was bland. The hummus.. ohh dear god.. If the owner reads this, please know that is not hummus. it's smashed up garbanzo beans. If you ever want me to show you how to make proper hommus that would save your business!!! just let me know. In fact, just buy the cookbook ZOV and start there, it's the commercial culinary bible for my family, and it will start you with the right techniques. The pilaf.. sniff sniff... I can't go on... just.. please stop...

We were visiting family that lives right outside old town Temecula when we decided to go here for dinner. Having been to this restaurant before for breakfast almost a year ago I thought that it would be a good idea to check out their main offers. I was very pleasantly surprised. To put it in simple terms. The food here was the best Mediterranean food that I have had. The flavors and spices were right on and the smell was wonderful. The food was on the pricier side, but worth it. I would love to go there again next time I am visiting Temecula.

Good food, we went for a late lunch to beat the Saint Valentines crowd and the prices are very reasonable. Location is great, food is great, service great also, and very friendly staff and kind Assyrian Christian owners. Like that you can sit inside or on a large patio on the strip. Meat in the Soros combo was tender and cooked just right, same with the chicken. Recommend!!!

My partner and I came on Father's day as we were enjoying old town. Mediterranean food sounded good and decided to dine at Soro's. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. They seemed understaffed as our waitress only checked in on us twice (poor thing seemed overwhelmed). The food needed flavor/seasoning. We ordered the kabobs (all meats) and it was not good. I will not be returning and will definitely let my friends know my poor experience.

I went here for lunch today with my fiancee. We were trying to get out of the heat and went inside instead eating on the patio. The inside of the restaurant is not very well kept. The floors needed to be vacuumed, the girl pointed out some green stuff in the salt (not rice but green lettuce looking substance), and the amount of dust built up around the a/c vents was horrible. The cleanliness of the dining area had me wondering about the kitchen... The food was actually good but over priced. I ordered the gyro and the girl had the felafel. The server was great - he knew his wine and beers! The verdict is that we probably would not go back.

Once again, Temecula Yelpers, you have let me down. Thanks a lot! (JK) I had made reservations in anticipation of how hectic Valentine's Day weekend dinner can be. I first noticed that our table had a reserved place card, which was nice. Our server seemed friendly enough, however we were sad that we never got to hear the specials prior to ordering. We actually had no idea there were specials until we overheard the server at the next table selling them. Nevertheless, we wanted to try the baba ganoush as well as the hummus selection, so we ordered the Hummus Fiesta. When it came out, there were only 3 types of hummus and tzatziki, but NO baba ganoush. We brought that to our server's attention, but he replied that that was a separate order. (Later, before we left the restaurant, we checked the menu again, and YUP, it said we should've gotten that baba ganoush after all.) After the main course came, unfortunately our server never checked on us again until well after we were done and waiting for the check. Had our server been more attentive, he would have noticed that we barely touched our meals. I ordered the Favorite Beef, which was definitely NOT a favorite. Portion size was off, and presentation was sloppy. Taste was very one-note, and overall did not meet our expectation to fit the price/value. My date was excited to try the lamb shank, but that excitement quickly turned to disappointment. Again, the taste was dull, one-note, and nothing to make us want to return. Either the kitchen was having an off-day, or this place seriously needs to think about dropping their prices to match the quality of the food. Our early Valentine's dinner was a pretty big disappointment from beginning to end. I felt responsible for having chosen the restaurant, and after many apologies to my date for the bad experience, he reassured me that I wasn't the one at fault. Aww. In my honest opinion, one should seriously think about trying another place for a special occasion.

Came to Soro's after spending some time in old town Temecula. On Saturday's the parking down there is a nightmare and there is a Farmer's Market right behind Soro's, however we found parking down the street and around the corner, you just have to be patient. So now onto Soro's, the ambiance is nice. Inside they have painted murals and the chairs are comfy. I ordered the Greek pizza, it was deelicious!! The pizza had feta cheese, mozzarella cheese, gyro meat, tzazki sauce- all yumminess. The fiance had the fish pita taco which he said he liked and my mom and grandma had the chicken pita taco and they both ate it all up so they liked theirs too! The server was nice, and it was a delicious lunch!

Nom nom nom! This place is so yummy! I read the good reviews and thought this would be a great place to finish our Temecula adventure. We walked up and they said we could sit anywhere we wanted and the day was beautiful so naturally we sat outside. The patio area is great. The server came out, brought us water, after us glancing at the menu for a while then came back, and took our order. We started with the Hommus Fiesta that included regular hummus, jalapeno cilantro, red pepper, & baba ganoush. I really have to agree with Jovana on the baba ganoush being the best ever. I told the server and she said they make it fresh there, as any Mediterranean restaurant should, although most don't. We then shared the vegetarian curry platter, which was also quite tasty. The meal came with a salad, curry, rice, and falafel. The falafel was good and not too dry. For dessert, we shared the baklava and that was really good too! My mom was impressed! She had no idea that Mediterranean cuisine was so good and really enjoyed eating here as well. Thanks Soro's! What a great way to end an awesome vacation :)

The food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is breathtaking! We went here on a triple date and everyone enjoyed the food. However, i don't think I'll be coming back for several reasons. First, the service was slow. We sat outside in the freezing cold, unattended for a long time. Our food took forever to come out and when we asked for more pita bread or drinks, the wait was absolutely ridiculous. Our dinner lasted about 2 hours, and when you're outside in the cold, it seems like forever. Second, on the menu all of our meals came with pita bread, but when the food came out, we only had 4 pitas (there were 6 of us). When we asked for more we were charged $1.50 for each additional bread, and we received them well after our food had gotten cold. I was disappointed about this because you can't really eat a gyro without the pita bread, not to mention, the pita was really good! We may have even ordered more after that had they not taken so long to bring them out to us. The only reason I decided to give 3 stars was simply because the food was so good. Maybe next time I'll just order my meal to go because I would never dine there again after my experience. Honestly, for the prices we paid, I was extremely disappointed in the overall experience.

Walked into Soro's for dinner and it smelled like an Israeli restaurant in Tel Aviv, which is a good thing. My wife and I had two distinctively different meals, mine was Chicken Shish Kabob and hers was a vegetarian stuffed grape leaves plate. Both were very good! My chicken was tasty, maybe just a bit over cooked but not too bad. She loved her vegetarian dish so much we ordered a third dish just to taste it. It was the Soro's beef which is unusual in that it has a Mediterranean taste about it combined with a taste of Beef Burgundy, which sounds weird but it was wonderful, Our waiter Travis was great and the manager Byron came over to say hello, both were very attentive. Nice looking on the inside, though a bit cramped, and the outside dining is very inviting. I will be back next time I am in Temecula.

This is a charming locally owned restaurant versatile enough for a get-together with friends, business lunch, or date. We brought our eight year old with us for dinner and I would feel comfortable returning with both of our kids if we sat outside on the patio, which has a more casual feel. During the day I would say this restaurant is casual enough to bring well-behaved kids. (It's Temecula where there are few places that people *don't* bring kids.) The food is excellent. The grape leaves were especially delicious. The reason I am giving Soro's four stars instead of five is twofold. First, the portions were small for the price. The prices are not high by any means, but when you're out to eat and it's dinner, the portions need to be a bit bigger than what they serve. It is especially annoying to be nickel-and-dimed on pita bread at a Mediterranean restaurant. Second, the service was friendly but a bit inexperienced. We had to ask twice for a water refill and the waiter commented about how busy it was. The restaurant was doing a decent business, but it wasn't packed like any normal restaurant in a major city would be. That said, we'll definitely be back and hope that as Soro's grows, they overcome some of their growing pains and continue to build a loyal clientele.

  • Steven B.

The atmosphere was good. The service was slow and inattentive. Out of the four of us, only my wife truly enjoyed the food. The rest of us thought it was OK at best. The portions were OK. It was a little too pricey. The restroom situation was weird. A long line for a single restroom that is shared with another business. My wife decided to jump out of line. We went to the restroom at the nearby gas station instead. That destroyed the overall mood that we were trying to achieve, making this a backwoods diner experience instead of the Mediterranean experience that we anticipated.

My wife and I stopped by Temecula to take a look at homes in the area. After driving around for an hour, we got hungry and started looking for a place to eat. The people are courteous and sit you right away. I knew it was a decent place when they had Arrogant Bastard in their beer menu . We were going to start with an appetizer and share an entrée after wards. The Greek Gyro Fries are huge and very tasty! A good twist on Mediterranean food. That was our meal that night, the fries were enough to feed two for dinner.

Temecula was a central spot for our family to get together, and we picked Soro's, partially on the recommendation of the contact at the Street Chalk Festival. We made reservations, which was a good idea. Parking was terrible. We picked a day when they had their street fair and it was almost impossible to find parking. The food was great, as was the service. Definitely a place we will visit in the future.

This place has really delicious Mediterranean food, which is hard to find in this area. I like the fact that everything tastes slightly different each time, which is really a positive testament that they make everything fresh. We always get the Fiesta Hummus appetizer to split, which satisfies all the different individuals at our table. Besides having great food, I truly love the outdoor dining area.

I can't believe anyone could complain about the service. Ok....so we were the only people in the restaurant, on a weekday, Thanksgiving week. So I can't comment on the service because of that but we did receive very good, personal service. I eat a fair amount of Mediterranean food and I've had both ends of the spectrum as far as quantity and quality. The portions were just right (I never clear off a plate) and it was served hot and fresh. I've been to places where the pita bread is less than stale and almost expect it that way but their pita bread was fresh and hot. Our waitress also suggested the Greek bread which was very good as well. The original hommus was very good so I regret not trying the sampler. I had the gyro plate as recommended by our server. The presentation was very nice and the meat was cooked perfectly and served over rice. The only negative was the bathroom. They don't have their own and it's shared with other neighboring vendors. I didn't see for myself but I hear it's very much like the public restroom that it is. Go before you go or hold it 'til you get home.

I had ordered the shrimp scampi. That was really good! I think that it could've used a little less lemon. Portion size was really good. Everyone there was friendly. My only real complaint was the fact that the salads came out the same time our food did. I just think that since those are considered appetizers, that it should be served prior to our meals. Same goes for the bread. Generally those get served prior to the meal. We ended up sitting there with nothing to nibble on for a good 20 minutes. Other than that, I think everything else was good! I will definitely be returning :)

This great restaurant is at the beginning of Old Town Temecula, just past the sign. One of the first things you notice is the outside dining area. This area was the nicest outside dining area that I saw in Old Town. Very nice if it's not too hot! I sat out there for breakfast and it was very nice. I also had lunch inside too at the bar area. They have a very extensive menu and a wine list. I decided on the lamb shawarma. It was a very good portion served on top of hummus. Very good! They serve good portions. For breakfast I had lamb chops eggs benedict. Never had lamb for breakfast before. I didn't need dinner and when I had lunch there and didn't eat until dinner when I had breakfast there so you get your money's worth. The owner was very friendly as were his staff. I felt very welcome. I would be a regular there if I lived in the area but I do hope to be able to return. Don't worry, they have much more than lamb on the menu!

I've been here several times and I enjoy the fact that you don't have to order off the menu you can just tell the waitress what you would like and they'll make it for you no matter what it is they will try to accommodate you the father son at this restaurant are very friendly and it's nice to support local friendly places. Voice text. Excuse the grammar

Very good, authentic greek/mediterranean food, excellent service, charming atmosphere. We had a delicious meal tonight ( 9/7/15-Labor Day). We ate inside instead of the lovely patio because the music from the wine garden was just too loud. Inside it was quiet and very relaxing. Harmony is an attentive and friendly server We had the linguine piccata with garlic and capers, and the falafel with hummus and pita, chppoed cucumber and tomato salad and Greek Yogurt Tzatziki sauce. Falafel was crispy and dense with a great chewy texture. Portion was big enough for a full meal with leftoves enough for another pita falafel for lunch. We met Ashley (Soro family member) and chatted about her parents and the restaurant. Super experience.

Stopped in for breakfast on a whim and was absolutely delighted! The omelettes were fluffy and stuffed with the most deliciously seasoned veggies and meat. I had the Greek omelet with bacon. Fabulous! Favors are bold with classic Greek/Mediterranean spices. The potatoes were chunky yet soft and also laden with spices, sweet peppers and onions. Our server was totally accommodating and friendly. She explained their dishes and was very attentive without being intrusive. Plus the outdoor patio is adorable with the mismatched chairs, soft period music and lush greenery.

If you think you know what Mediterranean food is, think again! My experience at Soro's was not only fun but also educational and a palate treat with every bite. I LOVE food -delicious, healthful fare that is full of flavor and satisfying to belly and soul. Soro's hit the mark and the sweet, airy patio is the perfect setting for an unforgettable meal.

I liked their foods and the taste of Mediterranean in California. Also, they have a great service. But one thing I would change was the salad part. Maybe it's just the Mediterranean foods are like that but the salad was just too small haha it wasn't salad like what I was thinking. Other than that everything was great!

Outstanding! We went for lunch today and was expecting a good meal. Our expectations were blown away with exceptional food and service! We started out with the Hummus Trio, fantastic. Brittany our great server recommended the special, Steak Fajitas and my wife ordered the Mediterranean salad with shrimp. The meals were incredible in terms of quality, taste and presentation. The steak fajitas were served flaming and with feta cheese. No kidding the meat melts in your mouth and the seasoning was so good. My wife's salad was excellent with beautiful shrimp. No exageration when I say, one of the best meals in Temecula. Thank You Brittany for making our day! Tip: Yelp Check in gets you a surprise gift. The steak fajitas are not on the regular menu, but a must have meal ! Check out the video of these sizzling fajitas! bit.ly/tntp45-soros

Walked into this place not really knowing what to expect. Being that I am a hopeless romantic, the first thing I noticed was how beautiful this place is. Such a romantical setting from the decor to the lighting. The wine selection was excellent, the food was beyond delicious, the dessert was yummy. The service was great. I am not from the area, drove 45 minutes to eat here and wouldn't think twice about doing it again! I was with a group of 8, we all ordered different plates which I tried most of and it was all to die for. What I would recommend is to try EVERYTHING! Since that isn't too realistic though, try the fried cheese appetizer, the shrimp fusion salad, the lamb chawarma, the churro like dessert made from pita bread and whatever type of wine you like, they have tons!

We enjoyed this restaurant. They have a cheese appetizer that's melted with spices and served with bread; it's AMAZING! They have a full bar. Service was good. Food was great. Outdoor seating was nice. Nice selection on menu. Kid friendly (at least when we were there at lunch).

Solid 3.5stars (rounded up). Service was great...my cosmo was delish, my friend's lemon drop was delish, lemon/chicken soup was yummy (portion was a little small), and the hummus and pita bread was good too. The thing that gets me is the price...it's a little high BUT it is old town temecula, so I completely understand... and would eat here again.

Food was excellent. I did not like the Soro Mix appetizer. It was too plain and smaller portion than expected. The cocktails were well mixed and the Soro Grill was outstanding. Also, the outdoor patio has a great shade and natural breeze going through but the leafs just fall in your food/drinks. It's not a big deal but after being seated for 30 mins it gets annoying wiping the table off or taking them out your drink/food. I highly recommend a clear net to go above the tables/umbrellas. It would make things a little less "messy" for everyone. The ambiance is an old vintage homie feeling. The baklava was delicious! Overall, it's an excellent restaurant. The quality of the filet mignon in my experience was great and tender (melted in your mouth) kinda good. Recommend it!

Wonderful and delicious food. Great service. We went there for our dear friend bday. All the way from San Diego. We order 6 main dishes. Lambs, seafood, fishes. All of them taste really delicious. Papa Soro gave a complimentary champagne to my friend as a gift for her birthday. It's a very sweet of him! Thank you for a wonderful service and the delicious foods!! We will be back and tell friends to come to this gorgeous restaurant.

We booked a table for Saturday evening and decided to eat indoors, having the option to eat on the terrace right up to arriving was nice. Our Server, Harmony, was helpful and answered all our questions. Our order consisted of a sharing plate, three starters, four mains, two deserts, all of which were served in the right order, at the correct time and of excellent quality. The drinks arrived promptly, Harmony had a good knowledge of the large wine list and served a good Chablis. Service was good throughout, the silverware was clean and there is plenty of room on the tables as well as a good space between us and the other guests. All four of us agreed the evening was most enjoyable, there was a great atmosphere to the place and we never felt rushed or hassled. Dinner for four with coffee and bar $206 inc. tax we agreed was a fair price. Well worth 4 stars, it would have been 5 if they had restrooms.

Outstanding environment. I love coming to a Mediterranean restaurant and hearing people speaking with a Greek accent. The food is outstanding , the environment is relaxing and . . Skip the nasty burgers in Old Town and give yourself a treat. You will not be disappointed.

It was a great dining experience! We had a party of 9 and Papa Soro took our order. We only had to tell him that we were hungry and that we wanted some of everything. He did not disappoint. He came back with with 2 giant platters of Mediterranean Heaven! We had New Zealand rack of lamb, filet mignon medallions, juicy grilled chicken, and Greek salad and stuffed grape leaves. Hands down best Mediterranean food in a long time and easily the best way to cap off a day of wine tasting in Temcula. The service was outstanding. If you have the pleasure of meeting Papa Soro himself, it will make the dining get experience complete. He's a charismatic man who takes pride in serving his guests.

Once upon a time...it was good, if not great! Now, it's pretty much equivalent to Baja Fresh or El Pollo Loco for 3 times more! We were so excited to introduce my mother in law to their Greek nachos; after all the last time we had them circa 2012 they were amazing! This time they had less meat, thinner meat, flavorless meat. Feta sprinkles and now they have mozzarella...seriously??? Tomatoes, there weren't tomatoes before, and it just doesn't make sense. Absolutely NO tzatziki sauce....WHAT? Soro's...remember "people will always talk about the bad service, before they talk about the great..."

Mmmmm Soro's Mediterranean food. Al-fresco dining on a nice Friday evening with my two brothers was a success. We all really enjoyed it. Soro's is located at the beginning of the Old Town Temecula strip, a nice restaurant amongst all the other restaruants in the area. We wanted somewhere where we could be seated fast and Soro's looked like a winner. We were promptly seated in the patio and were served our drinks. We ordered pretty fast too. I had the grilled chicken on a bed of hummus and basmati rice, it was so good, the marinated veggies were also good. The pita bread it came with was so soft, we were going to ask for more, but glutony is a sin, lol. My older bro ordered the chicken kabob which was served with salad, rice and bread, that was also very good. My younger bro had the beef stew, I think this was the best dish, a mediterranean beef stew with chunks of filet mignon and potatoes, the spices were on point, he loved it. The place is a little pricey, about $20 per plate, Im sure you can get "better food elsewhere" but you're on a main strip of restaurants and there is a lot of competition and this Mediterranean place was the only one that really stood out to us.

Mediocre as a best possible rating. Spanakopita was droopy and old, lamb was overcooked and stringy. Falafel was tasteless. Overpriced, spotty service.

Such a nice family ran restaurant. The ambiance is beautiful and located right in the heart of old town. The food was sooo delicious and packed with flavor. We got the Mediterranean nachos with gyro meat, tzaziki and a ton of veggies. For dinner we had the owners daughter order for us and she brought out the lamb chops. They had tons of flavor and were lightly spicy with Moroccan flavors! The rice was cooked perfectly and they brought us out free glasses of champagne for checking in on yelp!!

Overpriced. I ordered the lamb swarma, the portion seemed puny for $22 and my husband got the filet mignon. Since our dishes were so small we ordered the roasted pepper hummus. I thought it was plain along with everything else. For the prices I expected more authentic mediterrainian food. I feel bummed out because we drove over 2 hours to try a cool restaurant in Temecula, and spent $70 on a place that wasn't so great. I will say the waiters were nice. $70 dinner for two and they didn't have a restroom, just a a public community one around the corner.

I live in San Diego and rarely commute to or past Temecula, but I ALWAYS make it a point to stop by Soros..ALWAYS! Do yourself a favor and order the Saganaki as an appetizer before you begin your entree. I have not been able to find that dish anywhere in San Diego county. The customer service is the best. They made me feel like apart of the family. The BEST part is the ambience. Go there for dinner and you'll see why this place is a winner. Thanks for the excellent experience and delicious food.

  • Jessica S.

This place was mediocre at best. Along with the hummus being extremely bland and the gyro/pita being crazy dry, we heard conversations between the staff that should not be discussed in front of customers. They were doing inventory on desserts and we heard "we have 23 of those? Sell them right away! They were made a few weeks ago!" Food shouldn't be kept for weeks to serve to people. Also, the tables around us had oil stained napkins and dirty table cloths. Aside from our server, who is very sweet and attentive, this place is not worth a second visit.

We just came here on a Sunday morning for some bloody Mary's thinking it looked like a relaxing place. It took 45 minutes to get our drinks.. And then the waiter charged us for the wrong drinks. The couple that came in after us got their drinks, breakfast, and ate most of their breakfast before we received our drinks. We talked to the manager and her response about us not even getting our water before 45 minutes was that there is a drought. She also told us next time we come back we will have our meal taken care of based off of her word. The environment is great and relaxing.. But we will never be returning here.

My wife and I stopped in after walking the Farmers Market and we were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. We sat outdoors under a covered patio that was very enjoyable. It was in between breakfast and lunch so we decided on breakfast. I had the Greek omelet while my wife had the lamb chop Benedict. Both meals were tasty. The service was great and like I mentioned, the ambiance of the patio was exactly what we needed. We will go back to try the dinner very soon.

***Soro's Mediterranean has a few decent things, but it is quite pricey for what it is; there are several order-at-the-counter places in the Los Angeles serving similar food at lower prices*** Soro's Mediterranean is located in the popular Old Town Temecula, which is home to many restaurants, antique shops and sweet shops. Old Town Temecula definitely has kind of a charming Western look and there seems to be several events here like the farmer's market that brings in many people (the many travelers visiting nearby wineries and Pechanga probably also add to the crowd). Despite the many options, I am not sure if there are many great food options in Old Town Temecula. Soro's seems to do okay from a Yelp rating standpoint, but it was quite empty even though Old Town Temecula was very busy on the Saturday I visited. Soro's has a small indoor dining area as well as an outdoor patio that is covered. The restaurant has a very simple, no frills look though it is dated. Soro's is the kind of place that has white tablecloth but is not really a formal, elegant spot; the look is more due to that's how it has always been and probably their regular customers come for the food and the service and not the atmosphere; therefore, there is little need to make a decor change. Soro's lunch menu is huge. There are several starters, sandwiches, entrees, kabobs, and so on. While a lot of the restaurant feels like a traditional Mediterranean grill, there are definitely a lot of more fusion plates like pita nachos and Mediterranean inspired sandwiches. In terms of starters, the Greek gyro nachos featured pita chips topped with onions, green peppers, Kalamata olives, melted mozzarella cheese, feta cheese, roman tomatoes, gyro meat, and parsley. It was not bad, but it was not great either. The hummus trio was okay. All of the spreads (original, roasted pepper and cilantro jalapeno) were creamy, but only the cilantro jalapeno hummus had a distinct flavor--definitely a little bit of heat and the fragrant soapiness from the cilantro. For my entree, I had the Soro's Grill, which included three types of kabobs (a beef kabob, a chicken breast kabob and a shish kafta--a mix of ground beef and ground lamb) over basmati rice, charbroiled vegetables and pickled vegetables. The basmati rice was fine and free flowing, but the kabobs were not that great. The beef and chicken breast kabobs tasted like they had been cooked in advance and simply heated up later (or cooked most of the way through and then finished off after my order was placed). The beef kabob was not that bad; it was pretty much cooked all the way through, but it was slightly moist in the center. The chicken breast kabob was very bad. It was tough and very dry in the center. It was dry on the outside too and the exterior of the breast did not glisten with that fresh-off-the-grill look even though it had grill sear marks. The shish kafta was slightly better. It was more moist than the other two kabobs, but it had a texture and flavor more similar to hamburger than a typical Persian ground meat kabob. Service was pleasant. The food came out fairly quick though the service had a relaxed vibe. The dining room is small and dark while the outdoor patio has a very covered outdoor porch-like look. The outdoor patio can get cold though they do have heaters. Prices feel high for the quality though the portions are fairly generous. Soro's Mediterranean is not a good option for a sit-down lunch or dinner. There are several order-at-the-counter Mediterranean and Persian restaurants in Los Angeles that are not only significantly cheaper than Soro's but serve more delicious, satisfying and fresher food. Old Town Temecula draws a big crowd for their farmer's market, their antique shops and their interesting look, but I would strongly suggest looking into other options here and maybe even restaurants a few miles away before settling on Soro's Mediterranean. Free street parking is available. There is also a free parking structure, which is adjacent to the Temecula Civic Center.

When I go to put to eat I look for 3 things: 1.Quality of the food, 2. Price, 3. Amount If quality of food is excellent which includes it freshness, temperature and the look it it cost what ever you wish, and I'll pay for it because I know it's awesome. If the price is good it also will attract me or others; if portion is good/a lot I will come here and eat daily! This place did not have any of the 3 things mentioned earlier. Food was cold, prices are high, taste of food not good, even salads, rice was old, And portions are incredible small! Fish has bones so be careful if you get bas.
