This place is very chill... Bartender Janelle was very friendly and kept the crown and jager cold and flowing. Didn't give us a hard time for doing the Ric Flair all night. Woooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

If I could give zero stars to this place, I would. Traveling for business at a nearby hotel, walk into the bar and see a sign that says, "We do not serve women. You must bring your own.". The bartender is awesome and attentive, but as a women, don't understand how she can work for a brand that devalues her so much....

  • Huong C.

Was there for the first time last night and thought it seemed pretty chill. They have 2 pool tables, a dart board, and humorous signs around the bar. It gets a little quiet if the jukebox isn't being played; however, on the bright side a dollar got me 4 cr and a lot of songs were only 1cr :)

If you want a local vibe with some really nice people this is the place. Make sure you show Angie some love....

I still love this bar! Janelle and Angie are still the best! The bar is in the process of changing ownership and I'm excited to see what the near future holds for his amazing bar!

Reviews are misleading. Apparently Karaoke is ONLY on Fridays. Should be clearly stated on their website, but it's not, seeing as their website is broken. Made the best of it since we were already there, but would not recommend or go back. They do not serve food and there's an extra fee to play pool..

Yes, this is the epitome of a dive bar, but I live next door. I could go to PFChangs and be fansay ( hobo speak for fancy), but there's no airs here, which I appreciate. The patrons are a tad bit scary, but refreshing. The drinks are strong and they have billiards and karaoke which is fun. Hipsters make me sick to my stomach (stupid a** mofos stealing all culters vibes and what not), and you will not find that here (I'm an atheist, but thank god). Give it a shot. Bring someone with you and do not make eye contact with any other patron and you'll be fine. However, please listen to all convos surrounding you, they will make you feel "normal." That's all I have to say, Whoop There It Is!

Appearantly it's a hassle for lady bartenders to make mixed drinks (although, it's their job?). Not very welcoming for new faces. Bartenders were very rude on several occasions. They moan and groan about mixed drink request, and expect tips with poor attitude. They got it, but they sure left a bad taste in my mouth, perhaps from their tasteless mixed drink I had to wash down. The some what younger trashy latina bartender lady in pictures charged me full price for happy hour and gave me a Bloody Mary with little to none alcohol bec her bf was having small talk with me. If she can't handle small conversations then perhaps she shouldn't have him around. It's unprofessional. I didn't like the vibe nor the tasteless drinks. I left and still tipped her any. Seems like she has a tough life.

Great service! First time here and the drinks are generous, the place is not too crowded, and the bartender is hella nice. Cool place to chill. Two thumbs up.

A real bar. Not sure if I'd call it sleazy enough for the "dive" title. From the blaring country music on the jukebox, to the good liquor selection, to the barkeeper with two full sleeves, a pretty face, and a feisty attitude, this place has character. Pretty hard to find a place in the valley with this sort of character. Nothing corporate here. Next business trip, I'll be back.

  • Leah C.

Great dive bar. Drinks are cheap and strong. Bartender was friendly. Nice pool tables. Music is either through the jukebox or sometimes live. They used to have karaoke too. The best part is how close it is to my house.

When it comes to dive bars, this is absolutely as good as it gets! I was with a few coworkers and trying to get a table at the Pho place next door, but the wait was some 15 minutes so we decided to kill a beer at Bogart's while we waited. It turns out, you can actually order your Pho from Bogart's and even eat it in the bar. The waitress that was working was extremely nice - not just for telling us about being able to order from there - but providing us a menu, snacks while we waited, extra napkins. 5 star service from a bar that is in a 1 star strip mall. They have karaoke, pool tables, dart boards, and the little trivia tv things. And wireless so I am considering actually setting up a remote office and just working from there.

The fact that this place is called a tech pub cracks me up. There's nothing tech or lounge about it. The drinks are affordable and the service is quick. They have plenty of TVs and pool tables. They have free wifi which is great! The bathroom smells of urine on the floor. What leaves a bad taste in my mouth is the bartenders attitude. The older woman has given me attitude for asking for a "complicated" drink. The younger lady bartender has made several rude remarks to me and my husband on three seperate occasions. She's chatty with the locals and older patrons, but has provided me with nothing short of a bad attitude. I always tip well, but after tipping her I felt short changed. I ended up leaving during the middle of a sharks game in order to go elsewhere.

OK so I started going back to Bogart's late last year. They still play the country, but that's not why I'm writing. Tonight, the woman I met and talked to for a while before taking home turned out to be a prostitute. After I drove her to my place, she asked if I needed to go to the ATM machine before our massage. This is what gave it away to my little neophyte mind. Sorry but I had to return the upset and out-of-luck prostitute to Bogart's. So, in conclusion: - Dive-ey bar-ish place: yes, if you're into this kind of scene. - Prostitutes: very good looking. Easy to talk to. But just like the country music, I'd rather not get into it.

Went for cheap drinks, stayed for Julia. The atmosphere is amazing and down to earth and the people are hella chill

    (5)
  • Steff C.

Chill bartenders who like to make conversation at times. Obviously, they need to service the rest of the bar so they can't just sit back and give you all their attention. I think what people fail to understand about this dive bar is that it's a dive bar. Head to Santana Row if you're expecting people to tend to your every need. You probably won't even find the service there that you would find a bogarts. Good people just looking for a pretty good time. Their crowd isn't really my scene usually, but it's just a nice place to play pool or darts and have a few drinks with neighbors.

    (5)
  • Eric Y.

Absolute garbage. Crystal meth is rampid here. WAS tech bar and lounge and all of a sudden it's a sports bar with Levi here. It's bringing the neighborhood down and wish someone with success in bar business would flip this place. It's a dive bar and I love dive bars but no this place. I almost got jumped by druggies after a night of drinking with a friend. They told me to "get the f*** out of here". But hey, you can get drugs here if you need

  • Angy O.

I love going there to play and drink. Place is clean and service is great. You will like it there.

    (5)
  • Heidi H.

G and I went there tonight - we liked it. Divey vibe, but airy. Not stinky or gross. Bar staff top notch. If only the ladies would stop talking about the the fights they had been in. But then, it did add a little sumpin' sumpin' .

    (4)
  • Dan S.

Its a great alll around neighborhood pub.

  • Brad B.

Fun little neighborhood bar. I've been coming here for years! Angie, Trisha, Janelle and Julia are awesome! Stop by for a drink... Karaoke on Friday and Wednesday nights. Free pool on Sunday's while you drink!

  • Jason K.

Great place to go for a drink while visiting the San Jose area. The bar staff was very friendly and they were able to suggest some other good places to visit while we were in town. Some more beer choices on tap would be a nice addition.

I've been back a few times since my last review - man, I love this place. A little something for everyone, and truly all kinds of people. Old, young, every race and gender. Last night I was there, and some kind soul bought a round of shots for everyone in the bar - TWICE! I think what I like most is the vibe - laid back and a tiny bit sarcastic. My latest favorite addition is Dixie, the Friday/Sunday night karaoke host. Talk about entertaining! I've brought a couple groups of friends in for karaoke so far and each time we've had an absolute blast. Now I feel like I gotta learn pool since it's so popular at Bogart's... LOL

    (5)
  • Meredith M.

Bogart's is a great little dive bar! Great beer selection, interesting karaoke and 2 decent pool tables. Only real downside was the plastic tip darts since I am a steel tip fan. Overall my hubby and I met some really awesome friends there and it definitely became a frequent place to hang out!

    (5)
  • Leslie H.

Karaoke is LOUD on Friday nights. We sat, we yelled across the table, we left to find more a more hospitable place to hang out. I wasn't sure if they had food either, but some of the reviews talked about corndogs and fries, so maybe they have a fryer in the kitchen? Also, some of the singers are pretty good, some are INCREDIBLY awful. Expose your ears at your own risk... :)

One time! Two time! Now I can honestly say that I have "found my dive". Holler! Bogart's Lounge and Tech Pub is absolutely shady-looking from the outside. That's the main reason it has never crossed my mind to even check it out. From driving back and forth AMC Mercado, it is not unknown to me that they do have Karaoke Nights. Seeing from the road, the crowd that hangs out in this pub also appears to be scruffy-looking peeps and biker-like dudes. Aw, man! I am such an idiot. This freaking amazing dive bar is located in a teenie-tiny strip in the middle of nowhere next to a 7-11 store and some noodle house. I can totally see this strip from my house balcony too, being right next to the freeway. I have never thought of checking out Yelp for reviews of this place until the night I finally ended up here for the first time. NOT BAD at all. Like movies, when I enter a club/bar/pub for the first time, I lower my expectations so I can be assured I would still enjoy no matter. For some reason, I couldn't do this with Bogart's. A friend of mine and I hooked up one night and since I was too lazy to drive to Sodini's in Redwood City (his suggestion), I "demanded" that we hit Bogart's. "I haven't been there but I read good reviews.". I call before I head there and the guy who answered the phone was very, very nice. Hmm! I felt good already! He confirmed that they did have karaoke that night. Enter little strip. Parking was easy for a Friday night and I was kinda hoping so since I know how little the space is of this location. It was around 9:30 pm and there was a little crowd by the door. I entered and voila! The number of people inside was what I hoped it would be. Pool table, karaoke stage, a few bar tables and the bar. David, the owner (according to Jennifer, a stranger who was super super friendly) was also the bartender. My buddy was there already and took care of the drinks. David is very friendly and can be very rowdy! I love it! The karaoke is not the best I have ever had BUT come on, it's a dive bar! The little space in front of the stage is the dance floor and oh boy, the crowd is soooooo awesome and down-to-earth. They seem to know each other and they were very, very friendly to me and my buddy. Lots of smoking outside, so do expect to smell like cigarette smoke when the night is over. The crowd ranges from ages 25-65. Honestly, I love how everyone seems to know each other and are very welcoming. My vodka-cran seemed very diluted but I was hollering with everyone there by the 3rd drink. LOL. Everyone was cheerful, friendly AND the bathroom was clean! Bogart's, you amuse me! I've never had so much dive fun in my life as the night I was here. Fun people, staff and even the karaoke guy (who looked like he has never showered and gotten a haircut) is awesome! Going back to movies, I cannot forget when I began going to the movies alone and felt that it wasn't that bad at all. Bogart's is so chillaxed, I feel like soon enough, I'll be having my first trip to the bar alone.

Still the best pub ever, nowhere near a dive bar IMHO. Bartenders very attentive, they even have free hotdogs Monday-Wednesday. No one else comes close

Walked in. Saw the cheap sleazy decor, the local riff raff, and the reddish necks.... And walked right out. Give this place a miss. Theres not much in this part of town in terms of drinking establishments, but i would rather drink a can of beer from 7-11 and sit on the curb than drink at this trash bar.

Bogart's had a new change of ownership. So with a fresh coat of paint, addition of 7 TVs! and some changes in the staff, Bogart's is still my favorite place to hang out on the weekends. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights are Karaoke with the fabulous Dixie! 2 pool tables with free pool on Sundays for drinking patrons. Dart board and Buzztime trivia plus free WIFI. Great atmosphere and a fun place to be! Still working out some of the kinks with the switchover but it's still a great place to hang out. Huge mix of different people from all kinds of countries, cities, and backgrounds. Doesn't get any better than this for a Dive bar. I've been coming to Bogart's for about 6 years and I'm a die hard fan!!!!!

  • Scott V.

Bogart's, the legendary lounge (and "tech pub"?) next door to my hotel. I heard wonderful things from some colleagues about this seedy dive, and it was exactly what I expected. Sometimes you just need a good conversation with cranky locals in order to lift your spirits. Wish my trip lasted a couple more days so I could check this place out it all its glory, on a Friday night or weekend. Would like to learn where the "tech" fits in.

Enjoyed Karaoke and Billiard. Drink is not expensive.

Here's a typical dive in Sunnyvale, although it feels a bit out of place in near AMC Mercado. I retreated here with a couple co-workers since Faultline closes so early. It was Friday, so karaoke night. Service was good, and one of the waitresses even alerted us to some free pizza in the back. It's a dive. Don't expect too much. Lots of locals and townies. ;)

Wanted to update my review. After my last experience, I was contacted by the owner to please visit again with drinks on the house. With such professionalism and hospitality, they deserve this five star review! Thanks again David and Matt!

  • Sonnia K.

I used to go here a lot because we normally watch evening movies at AMC Mercado 20 and we get cravings for Karaoke afterwards. It is a dive bar; a bright dive bar with a very busy bar. They have a decent music selection. It cracked me up one time when someone sang "Tequila." It's a fun place to just relax, but I guess I just didn't like the smoke traveling inside from outside the door which was kept open for some reason. However, everybody's friendly. When you step in, it's like you're one big happy family of drunkards. LOL

  • Stephanie T.

I have only been to Bogart's a few times and it has always been on a Sunday of a three day weekend. Each Sunday they have karaoke night. It is a super fun place to go for Karaoke, the staff is friendly and the drinks are cheap. I believe they also do Karaoke on Friday nights as well.

  • Crystal C.

NO STAR is what they should recieve. Very poor bartender skills and that was served with a attitude. Maby this is what a Trailer trash Dive Bar is all about. Jeff Foxworthy must have a lot of family that hang here. But not me. Never again will I be talked to buy some trashey bartender and be told if you dont like the service leave.

  • Steve M.

Nothing but great experiences here. Trish is awesome. Karaoke three times a week and all the important sports events on big tv's make this neighborhood bar a no brainer.

  • Chris L.

Um, really? This is the lamest, most pathetic bar I've ever seen. Do they really call themselves a lounge? It's a very sorry, sad place with shitty decor, stale lighting and drunk, old locals. It's a dive bar without any character, style or even care whatsoever. UPDATE: I was indeed contacted by the owner. This review was indeed for Bogart's. Sorry for the harshness but this is how I felt about the place at the time.

I had a good time here, despite the fact I came in pissy and bitchy. I wanted to go home. Hubby and his friend wanted a couple more drinks since St John's closes at 9pm on a Monday night. Hubby searched yelp and came up with this place. It was a stone's throw from St John's so they figured why not...much to my annoyance. We got to Bogart's and I was in a pissy mood while hubby and friends sat down at the bar. I sat at the end, quietly seething. The guy to my left was friendly, even though I wasn't. I started to thaw out from my bitchy mood and relaxed. I started talking to the guy to my left along with the bartender and another patron. We ended up talking about drinking the cheap wines in college...and me calling myself a classy bitch. It was a good laugh all around. :) We stayed for a little over an hour, but I ended up enjoying my time there. I might come back, but it will probably be with a drunken crew in tow. They have trivia there, too. :) Yay!

Worst customer service ever! If you want to go to a bar where the bartender will treat you like street trash, poor out your drink, and make you buy another one! Then this is your place! So long as current Saturday night bartender (Trisha) continues to be employed there I will not! I highly encourage everyone else to avoid this place. Taking my first order she basically called me a throw up drunk with all seriousness. Makes me pay cash for two shots of Jack because i'm "going to puke in the bar" and "I want to make sure we get paid for cleaning up after you!". Then she pours out my buddies full drink because they grabbed it before he walked outside with it and then tells him that he needs to buy another one when he came back for it. I have been too MANY bars, and never experienced the rudeness as this place. If I could give a negative rating on this place I would!

    (1)
  • Andrew N.

The people here are laid back and chill. Very good place just to go have a drink, have a conversation, watch people sing, fall over, and just having a good ol' time. The last time I went with some friends just to stop by for a little bit, the people sitting near the front door all looked at us, said "Oh Yay" pointing to us and gave us high fives... this is before all of us were even through the door. Thought that was funny.

  • Mark O.

This has got to be one of the greatest "hole in the wall" bars i have ever been to! the minuet you walk in you are treated like an old friend. the owners are great, the atmosphere is fun and the people are there to have a great time! don't just drive by, stop in!

Bogart's is the perfect example of "You can't judge a book by its cover." If you did, you'd probably think this place would be filled with toothless criminals intent on injecting you with the plague after you sip a warm beef from a cloudy mug. I'm happy to report that nothing could be further from the truth. This place is pretty clean inside, has some nice old-time photographs from film noir classics (and Bogey, of course). The drinks are pretty good, too. What else? Well the bartenders are pretty cool and have a lot of give and take with the regulars. The crowd ranges anywhere from the younger kids in their early twenties (though these are rare) to the middle-aged folks all up to senior citizens. This is definitely more of an 'older bar' but that's not to say there aren't plenty of folks in their 20s, there. They just don't dominate, which can be a a good or bad thing, depending on what you're looking for. They have karaoke on Friday nights, now, which is nice and there's a pretty good mix of singers from the 'cover my ears that's terrible' amateur to 'I think I just fell in love' karaoke pro. My only complaints have to do with the somewhat shady location and strange characters who tend to stumble in (it IS right next to a liquor store and a 7-11). Also, the bathrooms are tiny and of debatable cleanliness. So is this a good place for you? Well, if you're looking for a relaxed place to hang with a couple friends for a few drinks, then yes. If you're looking to bump and grind and hook up with some hot stranger or listen to rowdy frat boys yell at a TV/each other, then you'll want to go elsewhere. As a dive bar, it strikes just the right mood.

There are dive bars made in heaven (see my review of the Peacock Lounge), and then there are just dive bars. This is just a dive bar :/. I'm not dying to go back here, despite a full array of dive-bar type activities. They have pool, trivia, and lots of other stuff. They also have all kinds of weird characters. For instance, a crazy lady came up to my ex and I while we were there and told us, "you guys look like you are so in love! I can just tell you are going to get married. When you get married, I want to be a bridesmaid." I told her that if we got married, she could be the maid of honor. Whew! Thank god we broke up :P Anyway, all that stuff is great fun, and this bar has the extreme benefit of being in walking distance from my house. Nevertheless, as I said, I'm not dying to go back. Because in the end, a bar is about the drinks, and the drinks are about the bartender. I asked the woman bartending for a lynchburg lemonade and she'd never heard of it. I asked for something else, that she knew, and she shrugged. Another person at the bar suggested mai tai and I agreed that that would be fine. She didn't know how to make it. I asked her to make me up something that is fruity and sour and she said she didn't feel like being creative and would I just have a cranberry vodka and leave her alone. Look, if I was a hairstylist and someone came in and said "do something awesome to my hair, go crazy," or if I was a chef at a restaurant and someone came in and said, "please make me something original and delicious," I'd be thrilled. I wouldn't be like "can you just order off the menu, please?" That's lame as hell. So for the bartender's lameness, this bar gets two stars.

  • Michael M.

Been here 3 or 4 times hoping the place would grow on me... meh. Way too loud, way too bright, and the bartenders are waaaaay too slow for Bogarts to be considered a truly good dive. What the hell is a "Tech pub" anyway? The proper old school dive bar calculation is as follows; Good beer + Dark corners + lots of Flirt-or-Fight possibilities = Classic Dive. Think Toby Keith's "I love this Bar" video!

  • Jana A.

wow... we've always wondered about this place when driving to mercado or eating at pho nam next door... so one night the husband and i decided to check it out... GREAT dive bar... low key, not crowded, nice crowd, no youngin's with their attention whore attitude... their drinks are SUPER STRONG... i had a cape cod with literally a splash of cranberry juice... drinks are reasonably priced as well... it was fun to sip on drinks, chew on licorice and play trivia at the same time... we left and outside we found a TACO TRUCK!! Les Chuvi's is the name of the truck and it seems as if they specialize in catering services... anyways, they offer asada, pastor, cabeza and lengua tacos... had the asada and the husband had the pastor... tacos were $1.95 which is kind of pricey for a taco but they were very tasty and the meat was nice and moist... they had two sauces- red and green.... green is way more hot than red! love this place! will come back! but will definitely sip drinks more slowly!

In the past, I have usually came on Sundays for karaoke. Last night, I decided to try the place out on a Friday. Wow. What a night. Well, I must say, the crowd is here is very mixed. You have all kinds of different people from all walks of life. But they are all consistently lively, energetic, and enthusiastic about every singer, no matter what the talent level; especially, if you come in and do a "white chocolate/dulce de leche" version of "Get Up" by James Brown. The booze was flowing big time last night. Probably because the bartenders serve up big drinks at small prices. I had a Patron Silver on the rocks with some lime for $6.50. And the price was the same every single time I went up. Now that is a dive bar price. At a fake dive bar, such as Boswell's in Campbell, they charge $9.50 for the same drink. The KJ had quite the rotation to keep organized and he did an admirable job. He adjusted the volume here and there for singers, which was cool. And he was really good at introducing singers and then getting people to cheer for them after. The only thing I can knock about the KJ was that he sings a little too much. When it's crowded, you should probably skip yourself in the rotation and just back people up on songs here and there if they ask. In addition, he allowed the same song to be sung twice. But in the end, no one here cares, since pretty much everyone in the joint was hammered in a good, happy way. And really, there were a lot of singers and he handled the organization very well. Bravo. Bogart's seems to have gained that charm back (at least with me). As mixed as the crowd is from all walks of life, pretty much everyone gets along. It's freakin' uncanny how people get along here no matter how different they are from each other. And trust me, I was interacting with some characters last night. Put it this way: I came in by myself around 10 P.M. and I was easily the youngest person there. I had no friends and didn't know anyone, but maybe one or two people in there from the South Bay karaoke circuit. By 11 P.M., I had a group people to drink and sing along with. If you are truly looking for something different, you really need to check this place out. Go Bogart's!

This review isn't for the lounge but for the taco truck that appears at night for all the drunk people. Basically a $2 street taco, I only get the carne asada ones and they are amazing! Full of flavor that makes you wanna savor every bite! The hot sauce isn't that hot but it's good. I'd say up there with La Vics orange sauce. The people who work the truck are super friendly and are always willing to wrap it for you.

Update: have still been going consistently every few days a week since may. i wouldn't change a thing with this place. it's a great place to hang at n nerd-out on the trivia or just hang out and enjoy some libations. too bad the bars in Santa Clara don't give the same love to regulars like Bogart's does. The only problem with this place is they open at Noon instead of 11am (except Sunday during NFL season then they're open for kickoff for the first morning games) so you often have to battle with the noodlehouse patrons for a parking spot if you want a "martini lunch". Even though they usually open late, I would rate this as the best bar in silicon valley that knows howto cater to regulars.

This place was okay, Karaoke had a lot more to choose from compared to were me and my girlfriend normally go to. Other then that, it took me a second to warm up the atmosphere, but after that it got fun, still not a home away from home but good times are to be had there. Even for a Sunday there were a lot of people there.

There are places to be "seen" aka Santana Row then there are places where when someone sees you, they say hi. Bogart's is a great little bar that is hidden from Lawerence Expressway with great drinks, wonderful patrons, and bartenders who you can spend hours with talking about almost anything! Moved to Sunnyvale a couple of years ago and started going to Bogart's on a regular basis about a year ago. Owner David and his bartenders made me feel right at home, pouring great drinks and great prices! Having worked all over the bay area (drinking all over too!), it's nice to get a drink and still get change back from a $10. Nice to have a place where you can grab a beer or cocktail enjoy some good music on the jukebox and catch up with all the regulars in there (all with very different backgrounds and thoughts on life). Everyone respects one another and it's always fun walking in on a sports debate at the bar! They also have 2 pool tables, karaoke, and live music. It's a neighborhood bar with high-end/quality beer and booze at great prices, and don't forget to try David's chili which is flavorful, spicy and excellent! Oooh, almost forgot, FREE Wifi and Buzztime trivia all day long at the bar too!

I like this place with the karaoke and the DJ it a fun bar, the regular or nice and the bartender was very friendly and can make a drink. The price was reasonable and the drink were good. It fun to listen to the singers sing karaoke.

Went here after work on a weekday. Quaint little place, very warm patron vibe. Just general jollyness. Just like so many local little bars it has its pool tables and "dance area." There really isn't much to say other then I recommend people to visit. Its location is a bit hidden, as I have drove by the place many times heading towards AMC 20, so keep your eyes out for Bogart's!

This is a fun little place. We went there randomly last week, and we have been back three times since. It's not much to look at from the outside, but the people are friendly inside, it's relatively cleaner than you might think, and the staff is great (yes, Andrea kicks, but so does Matt). The homemade sandwiches they serve are pretty good, the jukebox is fun, and the Buzztime trivia is also cool. It's just a little hole-in-the-wall, and that's a good thing: not a meat market, not a trendy place, not a crowded place.

Heh... ok... so some coworkers and I went here for lunch.... and we obviously weren't the normal lunch crowd... but it wasn't bad ... it was nice and quiet, the sandwhiches were decent, not overpriced, and we got to enjoy each other's company instead of having to yell over the din. Again... I'm not necessarily the crowd for lunch they are looking for, but nonetheless, I've got nothing bad to say here.

What the hell, I might as well write a review for this place. I used to live about 4 blocks from here in Lakewood in a house with 3 other bacheloring dudes. Needless to say we rode our bikes or walked to Bogart's pretty regularly. I hear it's been remodeled and under new ownership, not really sure though since I haven't been there in awhile. There were so many shady things going on in this place back then it ain't funny. Some such as the smoking inside have been mentioned, The others that I know about will remain un-mentioned. Doing blaster shots, shooting pool all night and flirting with Mickey were however good times indeed. Quick story relevant to the history of the bar. One of my roomies had an old Shepard dog that would get sick of hanging out home alone all day and would stroll on down to Bog's to get a hot dog, some fresh water and some luvin. He honestly knew his way to and from the bar and didn't care about anything in between. If he wasn't home when we'd get off of work he was either at Bogart's or the mean ol dog catcher picked him up somewhere between the house and there. Jethro passed away and the patrons of the bar put a remembrance up on the wall for him. RIP Jethro, you were a good dog indeed! How awesome does a place have to be to consider a neighborhood dog a regular?! I'm giving it a 4 because I'm sure it has changed (could be good or bad?) and there never were many attractive females around the place. Other than that WHAT A DIVE!

I'm giving this place 5-stars based on one thing, Andrea. She's absolutely amazing. When I first got there with some friends, I inquired about ginger ale, to which she said she could make it. As I quoted "making ginger ale" she quickly retorted with some quotes of her own and completely made an ass of me. After hearing there was Coke in her version, I asked if she had diet instead. She again ripped me, until we she asked me what I wanted with the ginger ale. I informed her Basil Hayden, and she quickly bonded with me. Although she's a Maker's Mark gal, we bonded over the bourbon. So, my first drink was Basil Hayden and 'ginger ale.' The second was Basil Hayden with water on the side. For my third, I decided to switch it up for cognac. She asked me if I really wanted to do that, but I did. So we chatted about that and settled upon Hennesy Reserve. Athough I'm not too fond of the crowd here, Andrea made this a 5-star establishment for me. Also, it's right between a liquor store and a 7/11. How much better can it get? I think she works Wednesday through Sunday, but I'm not certain. Anyways, go and hit this place up if you're into dive bars. Be sure to look for Andrea as she's certain to be one of the best barkeeps to whom I've ever warmed up to so quickly.

I like this place. I've been there a couple of times and planning to go again. I love it for karaoke and the DJ. The music listing is pretty up-to-date, which is rare for many karaoke clubs. One disadvantage is that the wait time for your song is pretty long, about 1.5 hour, especially if you show up late. So my advice - go as early as possible.

My favorite dive bar in the south bay - at least so far. If you like the Silver Peso you'll like this place. Great bartenders as well.

Walked into this place with a friend of mine when we were on the hunt for a fun dive bar in santa clara. When I walked in and sat down at the bar I observed a few things. 1) The dude literally passed out with his face on the bar on the stool next to me. 2) The rockin' 3 piece blues band stuffed in the corner of the bar, but bringin' it with the music. 3) The cheap drinks. 4) Friendly bartender. 5) The dart boards, pool tables, and TV's. So basically all the ingredients of a good dive. You've even got a liquor store right outside to add to the ambiance of the place. It's a good place to kick back and unwind in an unpretentious place with cheap drinks.

OMG.. by the look of the building isn't where you wanna be drinking for a person my age. I just barely turned 21 a few months ago. But let me tell you this.. NEVER judge a book by its cover. I had a BLAST! although everybody there were in an older age range, they were all so nice and the bartender guy was mean/funny at the same time. what a character. Sunday was karaoke night when I first came in. HECKA CRACKiNGG. Good environment to just chill and have a drink (i LOVE their prices!!) I had a patron margarita and a dead nazi for 11 dollars!!!

I actually received a nice message from the owner of this place. Add another star! The people here are very nice.

I went back on a Sunday afternoon after my long drive from Chico. My cousin was buying so to me everything seemed fairly priced. The place had enough people in it to make you feel comfortable, but not too many that you couldn't hear your friend talk. I think the place offers free pool on Sunday afternoons. but don't take my word for it. A pitcher and some pints later we were a little toasty. All in all it was a decent hour or so in a place that has to have the cleanest bar bathrooms ever!

This is my "go to" pub. It has a mostly friend, low key crowd, free pool on Sundays, Karaoke on various nights, pool leagues on Tuesdays, and cheap beer. Keep in mind that it's very dive. Guys, this is not a bar to go to hunting for chicks.

this place is the best "whole in the wall" bar in sunnyvale. and that's a good thing. they have a comfy ass couch when you first walk in. i call it the coma couch cuz it makes you sleepy. the owners are A's fans and that makes them alright with me. plus the bartenders are really nice. they have two pool, a dart board, and a mini dance floor that i never seen anyone use. they have a large selection of beers too

I have come here a couple of times on a Friday night, but this is some time ago. Pretty adverage bar, but the bartender, Andrea was a delight. I understand that she does not work there anymore, but she blew us away with how polite and pleasant a bartender could be. If I hear she goes back to working there I will have to return. A true charm behind the bar.

I felt like I was drinking at a friends house! The bartender was pregnant at the time, she was due last May. Apparently they were taking bets on her delivery date. I felt weird asking her to cook for me, but she made us grilled cheese sandwhiches and corn dogs! Plus her drinks were nice and strong (but not super strong). We played pool and talked to friends. One guy had homeade soup, another started falling asleep at the bar. Then we walked to the liquor store next door and got some chips and those cute little pecan pies! It's unlike any other bar I've been to.

BOGIE'S!!!!!!!! Friday night Karaoke is always a blast! The bartending/staff at Bogarts is extremely friendly and hospitable. GREAT Ciabatta sandwiches for the drive home but watch out for the chili. Wifi and trivia make it a great happy hour hang out. The crowd is random but that makes for an interesting night in the Vale! If you live near Bogie's, the place can become addicting since it is so low key and friendly.

This is where I go when I don't want to be found... The 40-something bartender hits on me and makes me feel just a bit better about my crappy day... or maybe it's just the jack. Jack is my friend. Can I get another drink? *hiccup*

Great dive, but they get one less star for not having enough bartenders on speed. A truly great dive has all their bartenders addicted to meth.

One of the diviest I've been to in Sunnyvale. Closed as of December - its rumored that they got shut down for selling alcohol to a 17 year old. UPDATE, Upgraded to 4 stars So I went back there a couple weeks ago.. total makeover. It is clean, the furniture was replaced, new paint, new posters and decorations, flatscreen tvs, tv trivia with little wireless controllers, etc. Even the bathrooms were redone. Still, the crowd was shady, which makes it even more fun. The bum outside the bar told me that the previous owners got busted for selling drugs out of the bar, but the new owners were serious about keeping the place up.

Advertises itself as having the coldest beer in the valley, and they just might be right. Love this place. This used to be my company's dive bar hangout before everyone got laid off. Has that genuine roadhouse feel (but what the f*&k do I know), pictures of Alabama on the wall, getting challenged to a game of pool on a dodgy table by guys with bandanas who you might think twice about beating, barmaids who spontaneously turn off the jukebox, get out the guitar and do a little impromptu unplugged Sheryl Crow number, a relaxed attitude to smoking (even while the local cop is leaning in over the back window). It's all good.
