is it just me or does this place give any one else a major case of... claustrophobia (no, not the big D) I dined here the other night with the hubs and after all was said and done- (mediocre chips...good salsa...acusations of having a fake id ("something looks weird about this ID"- i am 25 year old woman lady!)decent seasoned beef and chicken...spotty service..yadda yadda yadda) i could not WAIT to get out of there....i felt like i was in the basement in a scene from a bad 1980's sitcom. low, popcorn-ed ceilings, mirrors on the walls, chairs on wheels, creepy frog knick knacks every.where.. if Victoria's hadn't of been closed for a catering event we would have tried there...next time the urge of Mexican comes around Frogs will NOT be on the agenda..unless its for take out....

We love El Senor Frog's! They always remember us even when it's been a while since we've stopped. The food is really good! My husband love the tamale dinner with their wonderful gravy! Keep up the great food!

If I could rate no stars I would have, food is bad, I would not eat there even if it was free. Restaurant was dirty too.

Solid mexican restaurant with very good authentic food and extremely nice staff. It's family owned and I think that is what keeps the charm and consistency to the place. I always say you can judge a good mexican restaurant by their rice and beans and all I can say is this place is the real deal. Their beef tacos and chile rejeno are some of the best I've had anywhere - period! The atmosphere is definitely typical mexican decor with a lot of exposed neon glaring in your face and the parking can be dicey on busy days, but it's well worth the trip. They've also started offering breakfast with either traditional american grub or the tasty mexican classics. Ummm, nopales and eggs, yum!!

This is an alright little hole-in-the-wall place. Nice for little casual meetings to eat some cool Mexican food and toss a few back. The place looks really dumpy from the outside but it's less dumpy inside. It doesn't look like a nice restaurant, of course, but the food is decent. It kind of reminds me slightly of a dive bar... but a restaurant version. I haven't eaten here in a while because every time I did, I felt like I was going to gain another freshman 15! I always forget that this place is here because no one ever says "Hey let's go to El Senor Frog's to eat!" I guess I wouldn't mind coming back here, but it wouldn't be one of my top choices ever.

good lttle breakfast place! Monica our server was wonderful hard working and kept us happy :) great prices considering it's buy one breakfast get the other half off! My Sister was my breakfast buddy, she had steak and eggs,Sisters brakfast was perfect and I had the chicken fried steak, I asked if they made thier own or is it was frozen and she said frozen, but I took a chance and ordered it and for frozen it was pretty good, if they would have made thier own I would have given this place a five for Breakfast! We haven't tried the mexican food yet, looking forward to trying it Go and have a good brekfast Peace Nonnie D

A high four at that! Everything in this place is pretty ordinary but one thing: PORK SOUP. Two words that are not in their menu...and for a good reason! The regulars don't have any problem consuming this delectable treasure, without any foreign intervention. Small joint, a pit-stop for the 49's when they were in Stockton training for the summer. A crossroad for a great many other celebs...but of course we count for the most part. nice private nook in the back for your buddies to get loud. Small parking lot, so crowd in...or park around the corner. It's worth it! Pork soup: Pork, rice, a tad bit of spice, lime hinting through and through, broth, and salty cheese on top to compliment the tang, and something secret (can't put my tongue on it)...

First of all, the salsa was delicious. Not sure if they make it or not but I would've had just chips and salsa for dinner and been perfectly satisfied. My chicken taco salad was great, but my boyfriends fajitas were much better. He also got a horchata that was delicious. Service was great, prices were wonderful, all-in-all a good experience.

I've gone here once. Decent food I guess, its your typical mexican joint. I ate too much, felt bloated and paid for it later. Small space, bar is just a few steps away. Place sits next to a pawn shop.

I've been here a couple of times and I really like their food. It is authentic and it's reasonably priced. The restaurant is a bit small but it makes it cozy. I like it. The food is constant and they do have a good selection to choose from. There are also combination plates too.

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff, home cooked Mexican food, large portions. TV's on but tables are private enough that you can "hear" the conversation at your table.

If you step into this joint leave ALL nutritional reservations at the door. Order a chicken/ beef quesadilla and ask for gravy. Gravy mind you is enchillada sauce with lard. Bascially the most flavorful sauce you'll ever eat. They have a full bar and decent margarita's.

I stopped by here for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. It's a small little place that's far from fancy, but the waitress was nice and the food was great. I had an egg thing with so much cheese that it bordered on ridiculous (I mean that in a good way). And their breakfast burritos are HUGE. It's a good spot to go to on Sunday morning to relax and eat more dairy products than is healthy.

Love the ladies that work here ALMOST as much as I love the food. Tasty Mexican food, por vida! Check out the random drawings by Chris Issak on the walls. Parking sucks.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. I stop in 1-5 times per month, making the drive from Lodi. The staff make you feel like family.

  • Morgan D.

The food was good and the servers, while eccentric, were friendly and fast. Definitely a cool lunch spot. They have a full bar and they have several beers on draft including Dos Equis. It's small and I'm sure fills up fast during the rush + the parking is non-existent so you have to park on the street around the corner (not a big deal).

I'm literally always on the hunt for great Mexican food. This place right here was one of my recent pit stops. I order beef and chicken enchiladas, and a taco. I had MAD cravings for enchiladas this day. This place definitely hit the spot. I cleared my whole plate! The enchiladas itself wasn't much different from any other I had in the past but it was fulfilling. I would come back here to try their other Mexican dishes. The ambiance was dark inside, but no problem cause I like that. It felt cozy to eat here. It was such a small place, you can literally see everybody in the restaurant eating their meal buuuuut who cares!

This place has been here and family run for 25 years. The staff makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed - starting with great chips & salsa! Laura is so funny and a joy to have as a server! The food was great! Chicken taco lunch for me & the chicken enchilada lunch for the hubby. The lunches were dinner sized and great value! Will come back over & over for the food and atmosphere!

First things first, the GRAVY & CHEESE is to die for! Soooooooooooo good, I would bathe in it if it were at all possible. Decided to check this place out based on the reviews and was not disappointed. We were helped by 2 super friendly and attentive young ladies. Ordered the gravy & cheese dip as an appetizer, and the chimichanga dinner, was quite pleased with both. Went total fat gurl status and ordered a 2nd gravy & cheese and poured it over my burrito. Will definitely be back here.

Bad parking and lounge type of atmosphere which was weird. Food was very good. Best Mexican restaurant in Stockton so far. Outstanding mole (like New Mecca in Pittsburg) and soft meat. Is that so hard ask for? Apparently in Stockton it is. Will come back.

I've heard good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. I was pretty disappointed with the over all experience, Bad parking is the worst of their problems. The food was decent but the service was sub par at best. Had to wait 20 min for water?, another 15 on top of that to order. Food arrived in good time and was tasty. I had to ask 3 times for tortilla's. By the time they arrived my food was practically cold. I wasn't irritated until the waitress told me she wasn't supposed to work that day and she could think straight. I'm sure I wont be returning here.

I'll repost this. Seems it got filtered out... I went there for the 1st time last night for dinner. I expected to have a good experience because I've heard good things about this restaurant. I guess it was an off night for them. So this is my review as a first timer. I'll start off with the doozy...My adopted caucasian baby was sleeping in his car seat on a chair between my friend (she's caucasian) & I. The waitress understandably asked my friend if he was hers. She let her know that he is mine. The waitress then looks at my baby & says "LET ME GUESS HIS NAME. MICHAEL? JUSTIN?". Wow could you sound any more ignorant?! If she meant it to sound racist or not I don't know, but I was offended! That's like me saying "let me guess your name. Maria? Lupe?". The night started with awkwardness. I asked if the raspberry tea is sweet. She responded "there's raspberry tea and regular tea". Thinking she didn't hear me correctly, I asked again. She gave the same response. My friends & I all looked at each other confused. Ooook...let me rephrase the question. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with sour cream. When it came it was the smallest burrito and triangle shaped almost. I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture. I could've got a bigger one at the taco truck! But I'm trying to lose a couple pounds so I guess it worked out. The night ended with the waitress bringing the bill then not acknowledging us anymore. Ummm...I guess I didn't need to order that flan anyway bahahaha. My friend had to get up & go ask for a box. Thank you El Señor Frogs for the odd dining experience. It was nice of you to racistly refer to my child's name and help me lose weight. I may go back just for the salsa though it was yummy lol.

One of the very few places where the customer service out does itself every time. Always a delight coming here. The parking really sucks. But that doesn't stop us from coming here. Great food. Comes out fast!

  • Jennifer H.

This place may just have the best Mexican food in Stockton. Came here with the family and everyone ordered something different. The portions were big and everyone loved their food. Prices are very fair too. While you wait, you can look down a hall at pictures and signatures of 49er's who came here when training was at UOP. Other famous people have signed the wall too. The parking lot is small and the place needs an update but the food far outweighs that. This is our new go-to place for Mexican food.

  • Ashley N.

This is my all time favorite Mexican spot!!! I will not eat at any other place when craving Mexican food. Portion sizes are good and the food is authentic. Gravy and cheese is great, chips are always served warm, and I always get my food within ten minutes of ordering. ALL TIME STOCKTON FAVORITE! You won't regret having a taste of El Senor Frogs. P.S. The parking lot is small - there's a few spots in the back and a couple up front. It's normally not an issue though.

The food is always good. You never wait long. The waitress is so nice and friendly it makes up for the bad parking choices. I really love their pork soup. My husband loves their cheese and gravy. The portion sizes are enormous. You can actually get a lunch out of it the next day.

Went today for lunch, mmmm!!! Its been awhile since ive been there, maybe a year, and its still great! Started with the awesome gravy and cheese for our chips, and moved on to a flauta lunch for me, and quesadilla dinner for my boyfriend. The waitresses are so friendly, their service is awesome, love this place :) Didnt take a pic tho because i was so hungry i ate it quick LOL.

5 stars for food and service!! But it's really small and the parking lot sucks! I like to try something new everytime I go somewhere... Everything I've tried from here has been delicious! The Camarones A La Diabla is outstanding. They're enchiladas are equally delicious. And you must get the gravy for your chips! It's a family run place, so the service has always been great! Everyone there is welcoming, friendly, attentive, efficient, everything you would want in a server. I always leave an extra big tip because they definitely earn it! Only reason they don't have 5 stars is because their parking lot is horrible!! God forbid you go when they're busy! Good luck getting in there! And forget about getting out!

Service is garbage, waited 20 minutes and didnt even get a menu or drinks. Staff ignored us despite there only being 4 tables and didnt even ask why we were leaving. Worst service in the whole city, I will never be back.

The only reason I did not give this five stars is because of the difficulty parking and the tiny dining space. As far as the food goes this place is awesome. The service is always friendly and fast. I am a huge fan of the homemade tamales and of course the cheese gravy for dipping chips.

I was so excited to go have lunch here after reading the menu and reviews. It looked like such a delicious fun place to go. However this is the exact opposite of what we found. The atmosphere was fun and light. The waitstaff was friendly and personable. One of the waitresses reminded me of what you would expect at a ma and pa diner calling all the customers "hun" or "dear" and so on. Sadly the food left much to be desired. We ordered a combination platter that had a variety of Mexican staples. The portion was Large and great for sharing amongst 2 people which was perfect since that's what we were doing. However, the food itself wasn't up to the standard that we had expected be reading reviews. The chile relleno was overly breaded with not much filling. The tamale was ok more or less but the masa was very dense and thick. The other variety of meats and vegetables were good. What made the dish truly sink was the fact that it was all on one large platter and smothered in a bland red sauce making everything taste the same. The highlight of the food was the quesidilla. I'm not sure if I would personally call it a quesidilla since it was more of a large hard taco in my opinion but it was AMAZING. Also, at most sit down Mexican places I've been they have bottomless chips and salsa. Here this is not the case. For every 2 people there is 1 basket of chips and one small bowl of salsa. Every basket of chips and/or bowl of salsa costs you a couple bucks. I wish I could say that our experience was better and that we would be coming back but I can't. We left feeling disappointed and sick.

El Senor Frog's is one of those places in Stockton I have driven by all my life but never actually gone in and eaten...until yesterday. Apparently I have been missing out. First off it's a small location, right off Pacific Ave...if you blink you would miss it. We stopped in for dinner around 6 and were able to get a table right away. We ordered gravy and cheese for our chips which ended up being some of the best enchilada sauce I had tried in a long time in Stockton. I ordered my usual two cheese enchiladas and we had our plates full of food within 5 minutes of ordering. Very impressive. The food was completely yummy, I just wish the portions were a tad bit bigger but I guess that just means I have to order 3 enchiladas next time, right? Two dinners, gravy for chips and sodas came to just about 25 bucks. Coupled with the good service and great food, I will totally be back. :0)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE their FOOD, their SERVICE, the PEOPLE there are so FRIENDLY, a very FAMILY FRIENDLY environment. I had family come to visit me from England and i took them there as they never had Mexican food before and they loved it. Thank you To El Senior Frog for being the best restaurant in Stockton!! I give you 5 YUM'S

Friendly service and excellent food! I had a beef taco and beef tamale. Large chunks of beef with excellent flavor. The tamale was the biggest tamale I've ever had and it was SO good. Took care of my tamale craving. Will definitely come back here again whenever I'm in Stockton. Parking is very limited, but worth it.

After reading the above three star reviews, I needed to step in and suggest two things. One - true Mexican meats are tender, juicy and cooked to perfection, all the gravy and cheese can't cover up mediocrity. Two - customer service and the smiles are a forgotten key to the customer experience which Mr. Frog nails but the chef is messing it up by making the meals forgettable.

  • Megan M.

The parking lot is small & somewhat inconvenient, but I kinda like the "hole in the wall" vibe this place has going for it. Unfortunately, what I don't like is that the service & food has really dropped off. When their food was on it was ON & now that it's off, well, it's OFF. When the food was on point, the chicken tacos were divine! Full of juicy shredded chicken, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, & their signature gravy all filled in a crispy shell. Their super veggie burrito, either covered in their gravy or dry, was amazing too. All the essentials like rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, & guacamole were on point! Unfortunately, the last couple of times we've eaten there, the gravy on the tacos wasn't flavorful, the chicken wasn't as juicy, the shell was soggy, and it just didn't taste right. Not sure if it was different cooks or if the regular cooks were slacking; either way, it was a bummer since we used to faithfully eat here a couple of times a month. We had two back-to-back bad experiences that dropped our enthusiasm for this place & have only been once in the last few months, and during that visit they got my order wrong :/ Here's to hoping that the food can return to its former glory!

Authentic Mexican! Chicken tacos are fresh and lunch plates are filling. Salsa is fresh and chips are thin and light. Friendly staff. Best mex in the 209.

Great Food, Great Service, Superb Atmosphere! I am actually hoping to be able to have my parents check this place out and friends as well! I was here on a first date and the food was phenomenol! The ambiance was great and the service was outstanding!

Their food is pretty decent, I really like the gravy sauce they use on their enchiladas. I'm not a big fan of their beans they're rather greasy but their rice is pretty good. I would recommend their cheese enchiladas.

Good to hear that the folks at El Senor's are a "very hard working family"... but a very hard working family a good restaurant does not make! I have been to ESF's twice.. Once, I stopped in on my own just to try it.. Second time, I was 'forced' to go there! There will not be a third time. Didn't care for the food or ombiance(ambiance)!! Stacy J said it best in her review... "is it just me or does this place give any one else a major case of... claustrophobia " No, it's not just you, Stacy. I get the feeling that the walls are closing in on me, too! Maybe it's all the nicknacks and stuff hanging on walls and setting around... There are just too many options in Stockton for good Mexican food to settle for mediocre. Call it like I see it, Theresa!

What I love about this place: the workers are swift and hardly ever forget about anything even when it's busy! The food is on point, both fresh & authentic. It's such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. A great place to watch the game!

I can't believe I never reviewed El Señor Frog's before. El Señor Frog's is my mom's favorite place. Therefore, whenever it's her birthday, Mom's day, etc., guess where I have to take her? Yep: El Señor Frog's. There is a bar, and plenty of tables, but if you're having a family meal or want quiet(er) ambiance, choose a table in the back room. Bigger tables, and comfy chairs! The service is always very friendly and attentive. Even if you want to order something different, they are very helpful and want to make sure you get what you ordered. I am told that this is all family recipes, they must be correct. Everything is made to order, yet still comes out of the kitchen quickly. Portions are ginormous. If you're a fan of the gravy and cheese to dip your tortilla chips into, El Señor Frog's has nearly the best! I might have said the best, but anyone here with a Mexican mom knows why you cannot ever say any food is better than your mom's: The penalty is unpleasant! So why only 3 stars? Glad you asked. First of all, some disclosures- I'm a vegetarian, and I have a real strong stomach and an unquenchable need for spicy food. For some reason, 9 out of 10 times I eat at El Señor Frog's, I get horrible stomach aches and indigestion burps that last the rest of the day or night. I don't know what it is, some ingredient they use in most of their food or something. With that said, it's important to know why I keep going back. Simple- The food tastes great. Even though I know that there will be a penalty for eating at El Señor Frog's, I do it anyway for the instant gratification. Another little gripe is whenever we order a bowl of guacamole, we almost always find little bits of avocado skin in it. That's just annoying. Also, my wife has had 2 occasions where her chicken burrito (her favorite) had chicken BONES in it. There's really no reason to have small pieces of chicken bones in your food, and it can cause serious injury if you're not on the lookout and get one through the roof of your mouth (my sister had that happen one time). All in all, the parking lot sucks, the restaurant is sorta clean, the service is good, and the food is tremendous. As for prices, how do they serve so much food so cheap? You'll certainly get your money's worth at El Señor Frog's. Hey, it's a better investment than the stock market by far!

In Stockton on business and saw the reviews so we tried it out. I got a combo taco and enchilada with beans. The taco was in a what seemed to be a freshly fried tortilla, which was light and tasty. The beef was tender and braised style, not ground beef. The enchilada was very good with a good sauce(gravy). The beans were refried but not like you usually get, so that was good. My two companions got different items and both had more than they could finish. This place is a bit of a hole in the wall, so we were pleasantly surprised.

Cheap, fast and delicious! The staff is always friendly. Perfect place to go for happy hour. The fajita plate is huge, big enough to split between two people. The nachos are also a feast. If you are heading to el señor frogs, don't forget to bring your hunger.

The best mexican spot in Stockton. The customer service is fantastic. Every time I go there the workers are all always so nice, sweet and kind. They really treat you like family. Their food is great, it gets better each time I go there. The only downside is I wish they would move to a bigger place with better parking. The parking is terrible and the restaurant is way too small. But other than that, great people and great food!

    (5)
  • Miranda H.

Food looks better than it tastes. It's average Mexican food. I'm not even going to nag about the service because there were only two people working and there were to go orders and maybe 10 tables, it gets hard to multi task. The place is poorly lit, and I'm not a fan of store bought tortillas other than that, the chili Colorado was very good, but I've tasted their food some where else before. Just not sure where, still in search of my favorite Mexican food.

  • Lynn M.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! The staff is so friendly and attentive, the server that is usually there always asks if I want my usual and I only go in once a month! I am always satisfied with the food quality everyone should check them out. The only thing I would change is parking lot which is tiny so I just park around the corner and walk over, problem solved!

The Frogs is still my very favorite Mexican neighborhood restaurant in the area. They've updated their menu/prices but I still crave the chicken tacos, gravy with cheese as a side with the fresh homemade hot chips and the fluffy not too wet and not too dry rice. The salsa is always good, bright tomatoey red, flavorful, and zesty, no matter what time of year. My favorite part? The owner and staff. They treat you like family. We saw the Lady of the house and had a good long chat with her. She really cares about what's going on in our lives and she's not in a hurry to get on with things. The first thing out of her mouth, "I haven't see you guys in a long time!" What can I say, we've been home bodies of late. I've tried just about every Mexican place around and nothing compares with Frogs, nothing. (You know r l. this may be a relative that sent you the email.....don't let that change your rating....every family has at least one). My dining experience could only be improved by one thing....more heat please and not in the hot sauce! It was a cold wintry week night and I was thoroughly cold throughout the meal. (If they were perfect, they'd be called, "El Senor Heaven"!

Atmosphere is that of walking into a comfortable living room.. hard to capture that feeling anywhere else. Food is always great.. everything's tasty and legit. Authentic mexican food? Not entirely. Best mex in Stockton? No.. always Nena's. But the charm of this place combined with great food and service makes it very special. Used to party pretty hard at this place but since Q and Chappy aren't around seems like those days are gone.. don't see much of the younger crowd that used to slam this place drinking pitcher after pitcher. Got lots of good memories here. Wished they could do something more with the back dining space. If you don't mind the now entirely female staff talking your ears off about sports then do yourself a favor and make this a go to for good mexican.

**************QUICK REVIEW***************** Solid 3 1/2 star joint. Better than Cancun/Casa Flores chain....excluding Casa Flores Marina (which is like the 'Patron' of the Casa Flores family). Good portions. Decent prices. Better than average food. ************************************************* Senor Frogs falls into that category of restaurant you always forget is there. You end up passing it on Pacific and going "Oh yeah! I forgot that option!" I blame it on the awkward location. The parking is limited to a few spots in the front and a cramped Small parking lot near the rear. If you drive a Prius, it will be fine. If you have a full size truck, be prepared to put your parking skils to the test! You can always park around the corner if you're not a "parking savant" though. The place has a homey feel to it and all the servers I've encountered have always been more than friendly. Just be cautious if you head towards the back room, as I've noticed a few times the servers can forget about you if they get busy. However, if you're like me and conditioned to the 'Nena's style of service", it's not really a big deal to get up and get the waitresses attention. Typical Mexican fare that is cooked with a bit more love than other spots in town. If you're off Pacific and craving Mexican food, this is easily your best bet.

Best Mexican food in town with very good prices on all of their menu items. The service was excellent and the food was amazing!!! The only downside is the small parking lot and the fact that the restaurant itself is not that large. But, location aside, it is a great place to eat!

The customer service here makes me wish I could give a 6th star. The family who owns this restaurant interacts with their guests on a very genuine & personal level. They are also very accommodating and fast. On my first visit, we started with the "skeeter nachos". The portion size was so large that we didn't end up ordering entrées, we were too full! Last time I was here I ordered a house special: chile colordao, chile relleno, chile vedre, and a beef enchilada. It's enough food for two, or maybe three. Served with rice and beans, it took up the entire massive plate. The chile verde was absolutely delicious. The chile relleno was the best I have had in Stockton yet. Everything was flavorful and yummy. As of right now, this is my new go-to Mexican restaurant!

Found this place on YELP and decided to give it a try since its close to where we live and it was open past 9 Lol! So glad we did, as we've been making weekly visits (if not 2x a week) since we first came last month! Service has been amazing everytime we've been there and so has the food! My fave is their beef enchiladas! Meat is so tender and the sauce is to die for! The bf loves their tacos and even my grandma (pickiest lady EVER) likes this place! If you go during lunch, they have a one item combo for $5! Cheaper than McDonalds and 100times better! Now I've read about their chips and I can say one time in the last 5 the chips were not the freshest (only reason they arent getting 5 stars) so hopefully it was a fluke but their salsa was as usual delicious! 2 pointers - avoid the front parking lot and go to the back! Try their deep fried icecream! Its amazing!!!

Half the fun going to this place is not ramming into the building trying to park your car. My fiancee enjoys getting take out from this place. I do not. I just have a problem spending $30 for 2 plates of rice and beans, some meat, tortillas on the side with a couple bland lettuce filled tacos. Maybe I am crazy. However, maybe there are some better deals available than what she orders. The interior is just as claustrophobic as the parking lot. Every time I go in there, everyone looks at me because I basically have to step on their lunch to get to the counter. Also, watch for the hidden step as soon as you enter, you don't want to face plant into another patrons rice and beans like I almost do on occasion The place does have a very nice bar atmosphere though, and it may be nice to have a drink there.

My family has been coming here for over a decade for a reason. As a child, going to El Senor Frog's with my grandparents was a treat. This friendly-family owned restaurant has amazing food from the chips and salsa, all the way to the main entrée (never had any room left in me for dessert). For as long as I'm living in Stockton, I will remain a regular here.

I wanted to give a 2.5 rating. I had the chicana & while the meat itself was tasty, the serving of beans & rice was skimpy. That could have been overlooked but I was intensely disappointed to discover that the flour tortillas that accompanied the dish were store bought. Fresh homemade tortillas is one of the main reasons I go out for mexican food and when I'm served bought tortillas that aren't even as good as the mediocre ones I can buy at Winco, that's a dining experience I won't repeat. Also, although the waitress was overly friendly for affect when she did appear, she was less than attentive for the duration; my husband had to flag down another waitress to get another beer because ours had disappeared for over 10 minutes; same thing when we wanted to receive our bill & leave, we had to ask another waitress. The atmosphere was nice but for every other dining reason, I'll drive across town to Mi Ranchito.

Had chicken enchiladas &chile rellenos takeout. Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten by far . Tasteless, dry,no sauce on the food. Worst yet, I was charged extra for the takeout containers. Ate there a few years ago. Food was tasty then. What happened? New owner? Will not return.

like another reviewer - it's our favorite local Mexican restaurant Monica is awesome, shrimp in garlic and the steak sandwich are my favorites - and yes the service is slow - because drumroll... they are always busy and most of the customers seem to be regulars! The ambiance is what the price dictates.

I like this place and the food is good. Much better than half the mexicans restaurants I've been. The service is really good, super friendly. But what KILLS me is mexican food joints that serve stale chips! If they had fresh chips I would give this place four stars....but I will hold strong until that day.

I love the Chicken Enchilada's and the fact that the sodas are free refills. I love Rootbeer too! So come on down and get some food! Family owned is a plus too!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
