Outside of the main tourist part of Sausalito, in a non descript strip mall off Bridgeway, you'll find the best Thai in the local area. Super friendly staff, decently efficient service, fabulous food. It's sort of bistro Thai. Not the usual decor or anything that you might expect, and they do some fusion stuff and just plain burgers and other lunch staples. Everything is good, so good that we nicknamed the Chinese Chicken Salad "Crack Salad" -- you just can't stop eating it!

The Bay area has a thriving restaurant scene with numerous restaurants that offer diverse types of cuisines that please the senses. Yum every place. That is unless looking for a meal in Marin County where this diversity does not exist and the restaurant food (generalizing) lacks depth, flavor, and character. Without question there are a limited number of restaurants such as Insalata's, the Buckeye, and Avatar's that are exceptions. Still, in Marin, it is difficult to get a pleasing meal. On "paper" Kitti's Place located in Sausalito is an enigma. The location is convenient though it is not located downtown close to restaurant row. Positioned in a small plaza, it's easy to drive by without being aware of its presence especially as there's no flashy eye-catching sign that reels in 1st time customers. Then there is the menu. They have Asian food (primarily Thai), numerous Italian options, American food, salads, sandwiches, many vegetarian options, and unique specials of the day. Many restaurants that offer a melange of cuisine options are masters of none. And regarding the Thai portion of the menu, as there's little that distinguishes any of Marin's Thai restaurants from the others does Marin need another like-me Thai restaurant? My highest priority is on the food, its quality, does it taste good, whether the food has character, is it better than I can make. Service without question is important, though whether the service aspect is up to snuff or not has little meaning unless the food is worth going back for subsequent meals. Indeed Kitti's Place is a superb restaurant, an oasis in Marin's desolate food scene. And yes, Asian food lovers benefit from the Thai and other Asian selections available. Although the names of these selections may sound familiar, there is a difference. Where other restaurants have a more "corporate" standardized appearance and taste to their Asian preparations, Kitti's fare looks and tastes fresher, is infused with interesting flavor characteristics that reward the palette, and the selections are made using better "more Californian" ingredients. Serious home cooking (especially with ethnic cuisines) made with skill and love can beat the pants off of most restaurant food. And Kitti's Thai selections are what I envision dining on in the home of a very skilled Thai cook whose highest motivation is to provide the most delectable meal to his/her guests. From a mention years ago, I recollect that Kitti (the person) was a chef at a classy 4-ish star Italian restaurant. That past experience, in part, explains how a restaurant owned and run by a Thai family serves such a varied menu successfully. Their Italian selections are equal to what's served in most of the better Italian restaurants. Their salads are up there with the best in Marin. The various textures and the complexity of flavors coupled with the size of their salads make them a viable choice for lunch or dinner. Vegetarian options are numerous and tasty--my veg brother and his friends make Kitti's a must-stop-at place when visiting the area. As I have not had a sandwich there in years, I hesitate to describe them but to say the sandwiches I feasted on years ago including their curried turkey burger and eggplant vegetarian sandwich contributed to my enthusiasm for the place. Instead of an albatross, Kitti's diverse menu is a real benefit. No matter the size of the group or the particular food cravings or the degree of hunger of your dining partners, Kitti's likely offers satisfying options. Cousins and other family members make up the wait staff. Service is always cheerful, accommodating, and efficient. This is a comfortable neighborhood place; the interior is bright though not 5 star restaurant flashy. There are tables available outside when the weather is suitable which is always a nice option. It seems simple enough to expect a restaurant to serve tasty food presented well and that has character--especially in our food-rich Bay area. For whatever the reason, with very few exceptions, that operating concept has yet to arrive in Marin County. This makes me ambivalent about most restaurants in Marin with Kitti's being one of the few that I enjoy going to with any frequency. Unlike so many other restaurants, I am always pleased not only to go to Kitti's but am pleased at all aspects of the experience when I leave. This makes Kitti's a delightful food lover's oasis in Marin County. Do consider this review your word-of-mouth recommendation to experience Kitti's Place. Note: The hours Kitti's is open differs from many restaurants. Do call or check their website for their hours of business prior to going.

I can't say Sausalito is a food destination place, but Kitti's is definitely doing their part. Their potstickers are so delicious... all bulging with well seasoned meat and a great dipping sauce. They don't have Pad See Ew on their evening menu, but since they serve it for lunch, you can get it. Trust me, Pad See Ew is SOOOO much better than Pad Thai. The only reason I docked a star was because it was a bit salty. But the kids loved it, the staff is friendly, and Sausalito is such a great place to eat outside.

Ugh. I've never been so disappointed with Thai food!!! Came here for a team lunch, ordered Tom Yum Soup...and did not get Tom Yum. Haha, let me explain. It might be because this place is Americanized, but the soup came with so many other vegetables and NO LEMONGRASS OR CILANTRO. What?! Tom Yum without lemongrass or cilantro?! Blasphemy. The soup wasn't sour and I was constantly surprised with the array of random veggies...like carrots and cauliflower...uhh. That isn't Tom Yum :( Service was also EXTREMELY slow and the place was NOT busy. Unfortunately I don't recommend :(

Best pad thai EVER. And the chicken salad is killer, too. Kitti is always working, thus the semi-strange hours. I believe her mother does a lot of the cooking. The energy is very calm and positive, and Kitti always offers soup if you have to wait at all. Portions are huge - I eat a bit light but mine usually ends up being 3 meals. I swear if my husband and I suddenly could not get their pad thai we would go through withdrawals. Did I mention the pad thai?? My friend claims the green curry is the best, too.

I used to like this place. It's such a bummer to write a negative review :/ the past visits this year, service has been atrocious. The staff always look grumpy, which I have chosen to set aside.. Work isn't always a happy place, I get it. But when you're spending money on food that isn't exactly cost effective, at least get it right. An example of many, jalapeños are not a substitute for lemongrass on a Tom yum soup or when someone says no sauce of any kind added, that includes mayo as well. I'm not a complainer usually, it isn't my style, but when you get a groan-like look on your face when you come in as if you're doing me a favor by taking my money, that's when I draw the line. One of the Hispanic cooks is a very nice guy though, the one star goes out to him! Thanks!

At 12:20 pm, I called to ask if they have gift cards and the person who answered the phone said they would make a gift certificate. I arrived at 1:10 pm to buy it, but was told by a woman with a poor attitude that it was lunchtime and they could not make a gift certificate until later. It's odd their gift certificates are so time-consuming to fill out that they can't be done at the lunch hour (which I should have been told over the phone before I drove over there) and I am really baffled at why she felt so offended/inconvenienced by a request to purchase a gift certificate .

I have been coming to this Kitti's for years! Payao cooking and Lisa serving are the nicest folks ever. I feel like I have walked into this family's home and they treat me like a royal guest. I am a creature of habit and always get the same thing. Lettuce cups with shrimp and chicken and spring rolls. Devine!! The Pad Thai is yummy too.

This is an update for what I wrote below a couple of months ago. My co-worker went to Kitti's Place yesterday to confirm and pay for an order for a small event the following day. The owner was so disagreeable and started arguing with her about how they don't have enough time to prepare an advance order because they don't start work until 10 and that was just not enough time. SERIOUSLY? Come in 1/2 hour early, maybe? It was just some appetizers good grief. Mostly it was the sour attitude. Another woman in our office heard us talking and chimed in her negative experience at Kitti's with the same nasty attitude. I think the owner needs a friendly face at the front counter. It's really hard to get that scowl and grumpiness when entering a business. So many better places. I don't need that scowl, thanks though. Older post: I used to like this place or rather the first time I went and had the lettuce cups which were pretty good. Last week I stopped in for the Chinese Chicken Salad and whoa! When I walked in to order the person behind the counter was rather grumpy and pre-occupied, what is up with businesses and the no smile or hello policy? Someone had just called about that salad I asked about and she thought it was me. I asked if the rice noodles were crunchy, and she told me they had JUST made the salad and yes they were crunchy. Most places package the crunchy noodles separately so they don't sog. Back at my office 7 minutes later, I opened the container to find an enormous pile of lettuce, some dry chicken (2 of the pieces actually had an OFF taste) and what appeared to be a tablespoon of soggy noodles, 6 little shavings of a carrot, and that was pretty much it besides the completely flavorless salad dressing that wasn't even enough to coat each leaf. What a disappointment. I added toasted sesame seeds, some green onion and made a dressing that had flavor thanks to the ginger and dash of sesame oil. I don't care for cilantro so I was relieved that was missing, but really what a sad version of Chinese Chicken Salad. I was surprised by this $11 salad of really an oversized portion of lettuce. This place used to be good, even if it is Americanized...the food should still have flavor.

Such a warm and lovely restaurant. All customers are regulars and are known on a first name basis-- so rare in restaurants today. This mother, daughter team is very passionate about their food and it's always a treat to eat here. Get the seafood soup! My all time favorite and it never disappoints. Tons of fresh seafood and just the right amount of spicy. I sure could for a bowl right about now...until next time Kitty's!

I've been going to Kitti's for years and years (maybe 15!?), and consider it one of my favorite places to eat for many reasons: not only have I never been disappointed in the food (try the mango sticky rice!!!), but the family has always been warm and welcoming. My husband loved coming here before he passed away, and the staff knew us both by name. From the Tom Ka, soft spring rolls, the famous Chinese Chicken Salad which I often pick up to go on my way to work, lettuce cups, fantastic soups . . . the food has always been superlative. I always feel so welcome at Kitti's, like a home-away-from-home, and am comfortable dining there by myself, the true test of feeling at home . . . although I frequently dine there with friends as well. Five stars for this gem!

the tom yum is good.. the lettuce cup is a little salty and the pad thai almost perfect except that the chicken is hard. the owner and staff are friendly and accomodating!!

  • Lisa W.

I really have always liked this place, but the quality has went way down the past three visits. The lettuce cups is what I would always order, and the chicken has been really tough and dry the last several occasions I have ordered. I would make sure to call before you go there, I have had several attempts at trying to pop in and they have usually been closed.

Okay, I feel bad doing this, I usually only write positive reviews, but this one I gotta write ... Just had lunch here and it was awful. Had Pad Kee Mow and it was utterly and completely without flavor (well, good flavor). Asked if it was spicy and they said it was. It even has the "*" warning on the menu, so I was hoping it would really be Thai hot. It tasted like it was out of a can. Asked if the chicken was white meat and was told they only use breast. What came was ... ground chicken? Hmmm, never seen that before. It certainly didn't taste like it was all white meat and it tasted off on top of that. The "spicy sauce" that I asked for after I discovered it was not spicy at all, was like a tomato paste with a few bits of ground pepper. Lastly, the young woman who served me was unfriendly. I feel bad about this review but I felt I had to do it. I tried to call the restaurant after the meal to tell them that I thought the meat tasted off and the phone number goes to a fax machine? Oh and the dish was $14.

The BEST Pad Thai I've ever had. And the price is right. It's full of flavor, and yet, after half a dozen visits, I've never had that unsettling 'rumbly in my tumbly' feeling that can sometimes follow experiencing the cuisine. The service is second to the food in terms of being conventionally friendly, which is fine with me! You can tell that Kitti takes pride in her cooking, and her efforts do not go unnoticed. Note: I prefer takeout to dining in. Kitti makes sure that your food stays fresh, even going as far to separate the won tons from the soup to keep them from getting soggy.

The food is amazing. I have a peanut and shellfish allergy, so I had a chicken pesto sandwich, which was surprised me in how good it was. The service is aggressively bad...almost like they're trying! My co-workers told me about it, but I didn't believe them - until the waiter at Kitti's spilled two glasses of water into our laps (not at once, one then another on the next trip, since they brought out three glasses in two trips) without even an apologetic look. Go for the food, don't expect much from the staff.

With an empty restaurant, it took 15 minutes to get a cup of soup. Seriously? The broth was flavorful, but the chicken was a chew toy, insanely over cooked and gnarly looking. The soup cups themselves seemed like they were handled without any care, and sloshed around, leaving a red oil everywhere. The cuisine at this place confuses me. It's not fusion, it's fusion confusion. Do not blend cuisines when you don't know how, and this place clearly has no idea what they're doing. The fish tacos were a build your own dish. For $14, I have to assemble my own tacos? The avocado was just mush, very oxidized and brown, and the tortillas were cold and flaccid. They actually put jack cheese on this, which just made it gross. You do not put jack cheese on fish! The crab quesadilla tasted like, jack cheese, and was served cold. The crab was flavorless, the mango salsa was tasteless and watery, the tortilla still seemed raw and was very chewy, and there was nothing vibrant or tasty about it. It just tasted like cheese and flour and some tasteless sauce. The salad came undressed, and the server actually had the nerve to tell me my salad was dressed without looking at it. After about a minute, I finally was able to negotiate getting "extra" salad dressing. The greens in my salad were old and of low quality. I had to pick a bunch of them out as they were rotten. No food poisoning for me today, thank you! None of our entrees were served at the same time, and they were served before our soup cups were cleared, which was another good 15 minutes. For a lunch service, it was painfully slow. It took almost an hour to get in and out, and we had to take half of our gross food to go because we ran out of time. Our server was absolutely clueless and should be fired. He was a disservice to the restaurant. The food was badly conceived and carelessly prepared. The silverware was dirty, the plates were dirty, and the menus probably would do well to be run through the dishwasher as well, as they were also very dirty, sticky and greasy. This restaurant is getting ready for kitchen nightmares. There are better places to eat, save your money.

This is one of my local favorites!! Delicious food, casual and warm ambiance. Lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy during the warm Marin afternoons. Lunch and dinner menu is excellent. I generally order the same traditional Thai dishes or the spicy Pho soup - satisfying every time!

  • Brigi T.

Small and simple.I was told to try the chinese chicken salad and that is all that I tried. It was good, large amount and definitely well priced. One plus is that you can dine outside. The salad wasn't as good as comforts. It's convenient for me since I work close by, but I wouldn't say oh my god amazing. Good tho! I will have to come back to really try things out. Can you tell I have mixed opinions??? If your in a pinch and need a place to grab something, then yes stop in but don't expect it to be a rustic bakery type place. More little hidden gem. Ok I guess il have to add more next time I come in!

Beef Pho was good. Spicier than other pho I've had. Very busy place for lunch. Staff moved quickly but were friendly. Place was clean. Price average. I guess I'm unfairly unenthusiastic because I dropped my lime wedge in the pho and it splattered all over my shirt. It only happened 15 minutes ago so I'm still bummed out. But check this place out anyway.

I'm going to give Kitti's four stars mostly based on how warm and friendly everyone is. The food here isn't mind-blowing. I'd say it's average to above average Thai food with a few standouts. Oddly, the "Chinese chicken salad" is good. It's the service I really appreciate. Not fancy, but genuinely warm. Not a view restaurant. They have a patio, but it's next to the parking lot. Plastic chairs, the works. It's clean enough though, not divey at all. Good local place to visit for Thai.

Love their curry base dishes. Good, fresh ingredients overall. This is a Thai asian fusion-type restaurant. Yes, the food is Americanized but it's good and owner/waiters are friendly.

At nearby Fish there was a line 3-persons wide extending far past the front entrance. Are they dropping tour buses there or what? So, we hoofed it until we found Kitti's, with an outside patio (like Fish) but without the bay-side ambience or prices. Kitti's outside patio is in front of the restaurant, abutting a parking lot. Chairs are plastic and tables are covered with oil-cloth throws; it's very casual but clean, not dive-y. The menu skews towards Asian/fusion but has all sorts of other things in there to throw you off balance. We led with fresh spring rolls, I had a Chinese Chicken Salad ($10), and my friend had Fish Tacos. See, what are fish tacos doing on an Asian/fusion menu? Still, all things sampled were tasty enough and it was nice to be able to enjoy it outside in the sunshine after a big hike. Others have remarked that this Chinese Chicken Salad is very similar to that which Comforts (San Anselmo) is renowned for and they are correct. It is remarkably similar. The rest of the food was good, like the salad, but nothing that had me jumping up and down. We finished and walked back to our car and those suckers were still lined up at Fish, waiting. Sometimes you just want to eat lunch NOW; Kitti's was the perfect solution.

Best Thai fusion in Marin County! I use Kitti's to cater all of my open houses. Always fresh and delicious! Their spring rolls are to die for...This amazing family, Kitti, his daughter Lisa and wife, Mom, welcome you like one of their own....they also make everything fresh to order, like you are family member eating in their home. Precious!

I really think that this is the best food in all of Marin County. Primarily a lunch spot, but we've gone in there a few times for dinner. We eat out a lot, and most restaurants in Marin are pretty boring in the food department. This stands out as being really unique, and just really good food.

  • Sandra S.

While the food is still very good, the service is terrible. There is no excuse for flinging down dishes, snatching away plates, all with a scowl. This was the case with several servers. What happened to the gracious service of the past? I won't be hurrying back to Kitti's.

  • debbie l.

I was in the mood for a fresh tasting spring roll and this is the BEST one I've had yet! Created with care and precision as if it were sushi, all the flavors were perfectly represented. It was on the smallish side and a bit pricey but totally worth it. Plus the chili dipping sauce was not sticky, overly sweet or tangy. Just the perfect blend of ingredients! I'll be back again soon.

Delicious! The portions are pretty big. we ordered the pad-kee-mau and it came in a huge bowl fit for 2 people. The pad thai was pretty good too. Lemongrass tea was delicious. Mango sticky rice was yummy. All around wonderful experience. So happy that we found an excellent Asian place in our area!

The BEST fresh , not fried spring rolls west of the Mississippi. Also the best pad thai. It is a small place not open late and is super casual. You can bring your dog and eat on the patio,.

Kitti's is some of the best food around. It couldn't be fresher and it's super tasty. It's a family fun place and they really try hard to make sure everything is great. I love their spring rolls and pad thai. I may have to go there again tonight!

I have been coming to Kitti's for many years and for good reason. The food is delicious and the family is warm and wonderful. They have a loyal following and that does not happen by accident. It is a simple, no nonsense establishment where you can always get a good meal. Ma can cook just about anything she decides to, but my favorite things are the traditional Thai dishes-curries, pad Thai, soft spring rolls, etc. As evidenced by the overwhelming majority of people that have reviewed this restaurant, Kitti's is a winner. Of course there will always be miserable sourpusses who seem to have nothing better to do than write snarky reviews. Do us all a favor and just stay home. You add nothing of value.

So, when we walked up to the place we didn't have high hopes based solely on the decor. However, after seeing the warmth of the staff and the intensity of the customers devouring their meals, it became apparent that Kitti's Place was all that and more. The lettuce wraps made me cry they were so good. The curry was sublime and the staff even brought out some fresh blueberries for our baby without us even asking. After the meal, they took him behind the counter and washed his little hands. It is not often I am blown away by the service but this was an A+ experience. Great food and the kindest people. Seek it out.

My first Thai fusion experience with Asian-inspired dishes to traditional Italian pastas, burgers, and salads. It was good, but I wouldn't make my way out just to eat here. Hidden in a small shopping center is a simple, tiny restaurant with no frills, busy. but not packed even on a week day. Pros: * nice portion sizes: eating family style recommended so you can try numerous things; you can probably feed 4 people easily with three orders *everything came out fairly quickly *variety of dishes to choose from: everything from Asian-inspired to traditional burgers, sandwiches, salads, pastas, noodles *good place if someone is picky- he/she can always order a burger, Italian pastas, or caesar salad *a list of weekly specials: a constant change of creative items which had my favorites Cons: *none at the moment Ordered: *pad thai- average *lettuce cups- average *veggie stir fry with beef- average *crab quesadilla- give you A LOT of crab! but barely any cheese... which shouldn't be considered a quesadilla then..flavor-wise, "ehh" *endive leaves w/minced chicken and fresh herbs & coconut sticky rice- my favorite dish; loved the minced herbs and "dressing' in the meat mixture along with sticky rice *fish tacos w/peppers- good battered fish with sauteed bell peppers Overall, I would come back, but I would check out the list of weekly specials before heading over since what I really enjoyed were on that list previously.

Hmmm...a little spotty. I went back craving more Kitti's and my buddy and I were a little disappointed. The green curry with chicken was pretty mediocre. My dining companion complained that his mixed plate was ho-hum and his shrimp were a little overcooked. Service, as usual, was great. But, after we had paid the bill we felt a little cheated.

The real reason I haven't reviewed Kitti's Place earlier is because it's secretly our favorite restaurant in Sausalito, and it's one of those hidden secrets that only the locals know about and return to regularly. It's one of those quaint little places that we kind of don't want to get too popular, if you know what I mean. But really we owe so many delicious nights to Kitti's that, well, they deserve it. There's nothing on their menu that I've had that isn't fabulous, but I have a weakness for the Param Pak with chicken... few Thai dishes quite hit the spot like their Param Pak... But really, everything is good. Why? I'm convinced it's because they really do cook with Love. I consistently taste it in the food, and that must be what gives it that magical quality. The whole place is family run, and they are so warm and sensitive to their patrons that they even recognized us by our voices when we once ordered take out over the phone! The service is not just friendly: we feel like sincerely honored guests whenever we go to Kitti's. Kitti's is a must visit for vegetarians and Thai lovers who are looking for something new. If the Thai fish & chips is on the specials menu, and you're up for something totally different than what you might expect, you must try it. It's out of this world. The fish tacos are also something unexpectedly delicious. Bring your sense of daring and an open-minded palette when you come to Kitti's. I've never had dishes like they make them anywhere else. It's a one of a kind. The only thing that I don't totally love about Kitti's is the echo inside. Solution: eat outside by their fountain. Just please leave a table for us when we come.

I had been going to Kitti's place for years for their Chinese Chicken salads and the cute girls behind the counter. They knew me for a few years and knew exactly what I was going to order depending on which day I called in. Always had a good meal here and brought all my friends for lunch.

The first thing I noted about Kittie's Place was the location. Parking isn't the best; in fact, it's in a narrow one-way strip off the main row. If you can find parking nearby during mealtime, you're golden! Second was just how busy it was. It's good to see such a small restaurant doing a lot of business in this tough economy, but in the midst of a 2PM weekday "meal rush", it was a tad stifling, and VERY loud. The waitress had to round the counter to ask if we were staying for lunch. After being seated, it was a set of wait times. Wait five minutes for drink orders. Wait ten for them to be delivered... And if your waiter walks away before you have a chance to add to your order? Be prepared to wait til he runs by again. What I did particularly enjoy was the thai iced tea. Delicious! After finally getting our food, things started getting better. Let me just say, for the price the portions are GIANT! I ordered the Seafood Gumbo, which had a good amount of spice without blowing my head off. The bits of sausage in it was my favorite part. The only complaint was that it needed a bit more rice (possibly white and not the 'dirty' rice they used). My fellow diners ordered the Pad Thai, which was delicious and also large in portion, and a combo platter. We ended up eating off eachother's plates, and man was it worth the wait! So overall: Atmosphere = 3/5 ~Crowded and loud, but clean and nicely decorated. Service = 2/5 ~The waiters were friendly but difficult to get a hold of. Extra glasses weren't filled/taken away so they cluttered the table. Food = 5/5 ~Totally made up for the lack of service! I'd definitely go there if only for some of that delicious pad thai! Price = 4/5 ~A little up there but not outrageous. Overall Score = 4/5 If you like Asian Fusion, especially Thai food, give Kittie's Place a shot!

Unexpectedly delicious accidental find. Ended up here due to a GPS foul up. Had the most delicious curried fried rice I've ever eaten in my life. The soups were incredible... heck... everything was. Tried a lemongrass coconut water ice-tea, really delicious and different. Definitely worth a repeat visits. The family was very friendly too and that made it all even better.

Relaxing into our chairs, we bask in the North-bay sunshine, savoring Thai-California fusion foods. This is a smart meeting of genius minds. The salmon salad with fresh blueberries, cherries and greens is inventive, healthy and crave-worthy. Basic stir-fried veggies with brown rice is beautifully flavored and lightly cooked. Thai iced tea is mixed to perfection. Friendly staff who don't appear to resent us for occupying outside seating for a two hour lunch add to the relaxing experience. Melty girls having lazy conversation over exquisite and unpretentious food. If that's what fusion is all about, I'm all jazz.

Love Kitti's Place. Food quality is consistent. Price is fair. Staffs are very nice. Lunch time is very busy. It usually takes about 20-30 mins for to go order. Make sure to call ahead.

I'm such a fan of Kitti's Place! They are so nice there and so attentive! I gave it 5 stars not because I'm comparing it to higher end Thai restaurants but comparing it to other restaurants in it's same more casual category. Regardless, it's fantastic! As I stated, the waitstaff is great. They greet you right away and are never too far away and they do get very crowded! Still, it doesn't take away from your experience there. I love their Pad Thai with prawns and my friend gets the Pad See Ew. Excellent meals! Sometimes we get soup first and it's always tasty. This appears to be a family owned/run business and it's always the first place I think about when I want Thai food. Also, if you're not into Thai, but your friends are, they have non-Thai items on the menu to accommodate you. Just excellent! Try it...you'll like it!!

I frickin' love this place. It is SOOOO tasty. Traditional Thai with a modern flair. The service is good, the location is easy and they have a nice outdoor area. This place is no frills but the food is delish. The prices are a bit more than what I would normally spend on a weekday lunch but it's so good, I don't care.

Their Pho is probably one of the best examples I have ever had. Unfortunately for me, I have not been to Vietnam (or anywhere else out East), so I don't know what I could compare it to, other than the dishes I have had here in the US. Definitely worth a trip!

So good!!! Haven't been disappointed yet. Great soups, pad thai, etc. Love it. My fave, though it's usually only a special, is the Bamee Nam Tomyum Mu Dang...please make it a menu staple! ;) And Lisa is great.

Why you say am I a fan - well, you can get out of there for two people for $20 in Sausalito...and the food is pretty good. They have a bunch of different things on the menu but I usually order the Thai items. Vegetables are fresh not frozen and everything is pretty tasty. Pad See Ew and Mixed Vegetables with Black Bean Sauce are yummy. Hubby has ordered salads there and he has always been a happy camper. Portions are big - I just ordered the Mix Veggies with Beef and had half for dinner and the rest for lunch the next day. Nice friendly fast service.

Get the pad thai. Good sized portion, light, delicious and all you need to eat to be fully satisfied. (I had plenty of leftovers and I didn't get an appetizer). Also, man at the table next to me, I envied your lettuce cups. They looked real good. The menu seems to have hit its head hard on something as it's a little culturally confused. While most of the dishes are Thai, I saw some pesto pasta and enchiladas, and I was given a piece of sourdough roll with butter before my meal came. But that doesn't matter, really, I think I would only go here for the pad thai. And the lettuce cups eventually.

This is an awesome place! I drive from Santa Rosa to eat here. lettuce cups and Pad Thai to die for. My wife loves the Thai Soup! Nice family place, Way to go Kitti's Place!

OMG- I can't believe that Kitty's has only been reviewed once! All I can say is that if you have not tried this little gem tucked away in a strip mall, you do not know what you are missing. Everyone is super friendly and the food is to die for! We (co-workers and I) eat there at least once a week. The lettuce cups are delish sometimes we just get those for lunch. The Satay Chicken with Peanut Sauce is sinful. It is a great fusion of Thai/American and they even serve burgers with fries. Great soups, salads, noodle bowls and rice plates. Anything your little tummy could possibly want. It's right between Tommy's Wok and the car wash on Bridgeway.

This place was suggested by a friend and to be honest, I drove right past it the first time. It's a teeny place from the outside and parking is a little challenging but the food is completely worth the effort. Normally i would be a little wary of a Thai place serving chicken enchiladas and angel hair pasta with rock shrimp; but both of these dishes were completely delicious. The depth and complexity of flavors made it apparent that each element was handmade, from the tomatillo salsa to the fresh tomato sauce on the perfectly cooked pasta. Go ahead and order the coconut ice cream, it was creamy and full of pieces of young, sweet coconut. mmmm! Our service was terrific; efficient without being being hurried and attentive without interrupting. Can't wait to go back! The Udon noodles went past me twice on their way to another table and looked amazing.

We love Kitti's. The staff is so friendly, and the food is delicious. My kids always ask to go there for the yummy pad Thai and coconut milk soup. I don't know of a friendlier bunch in town.

This is a little gem in sausalito. ( i have never given anyone a 5, but this place was close) I have been going here for about 10 years I usually get the turkey burger and fries (extra crispy) or chicken burger, but the real deal is everything else on the menu. It is all very fresh and healthy. My biggest "foody" friends even rave, try the thai chicken salad, or really any dish will convert you you to this secret spot....very simple place in non-descript mall, with reasonable prices.

There is NO better Pad Thai- period. The Chinese Chicken Salad is simple and simply delicious. All of their produce is always fresh, there just isn't anything that isn't delicious... All of this is important, but what makes a dining experience complete are the people. This is where the 5th star comes in... These people all love what they do and it shows. They make my meal special each time because I like a combination of two of their entrees and they REMEMBER it every time i go there. They also bring you a little sample of soup why you wait and when I'm sitting outside with my girls (2 Shih-Tzu's and a Shepard) they always bring out a bowl of water without me even asking. Great people+great food= a great experience

When I'm jones for some Pad See Eew in Sausalito, Kitti's is where I'll be. This is a neat little lunch place. They have really good curries and curried fried rice (another one of my favorites). The prices aren't too bad for Sausalito, about $15-$20 a person. Parking is a little tight, but there's plenty of street parking on the very next right corner. They have outdoor seating, but beware their neighbors are a hair salon and a car wash.

no doubt some of the best thai/asian fusion around the bay. while their menu has many simple and conventional items (chinese chicken salad, pad thai etc) you'll feel like you've never tasted the flavors before. a taste explosion on yer face. ingredients are fresh, generous servings, you will not leave hungry. the place is casual, simple and clean. the staff couldn't be nicer. don't leave without trying the lettuce cups. i get down with kittis. you should, too.

I am very happy..... I think the consensus of the office is that they are happy too!! Which is always good after lunch to work with a "bunch of happy people" I ordered the Chinese Chicken Salad... In a word.... FANTASTIC. A co-worker ordered Pad See Eew (which should be renamed Pad See YUM). It is a combination of flat rice noodles, stirred fried with your choice of chicken, tofu, or prawns, Chinese broccoli, egg, black bean garlic sauce..... Looked and tasted amazing.. The portion control was out of control... Another co-worker ordered the lettuce cups.... the verdict is still out since she hasn't started to eat them yet... but I did sneak a taste and they tasted good to me... (I personally think Ping's in San Rafael, has the best lettuce cups)

Best Pad Thai I've ever had. Great noodles, not greasy, lots of tofu, chicken/prawn, veggies, peanuts. Superb flavor. There was something enjoyably different about Kitti's pad thai and I loved every bite of it. I wish Kitti's had another location closer to downtown Sausalito or that they delivered. A girl can dream...

I don't understand all the fuss over the Chinese Chicken Salad. TEN dollars for a heaping pile of iceberg lettuce, tiny sticks (?) of gnarly chicken, some sesame seeds, and stale crunchies? I could have had a better salad from Mc Donald's. Sure, affordable dining options in Sausalito are limited, but that doesn't make this place good.

I read the (mostly) glowing Yelper reviews of Kitti's, and went to check it out for lunch. When I arrived, I looked at the menu, which has a wide cultural spread of offerings. I remembered the Yelpers that loved the lettuce cups and Pad Thai, but wanted to try something a little more adventuresome, so I got an Asian fusion special: soup of the day, then a lunch plate with a red chicken curry, jasmine rice and green beans. I didn't even ask what the soup of the day was when I ordered (and they didn't offer to tell me) but it was a nice surprise when a delicate carrot-ginger soup arrived. Although it was a cup, it was an extremely generous serving. The soup was balanced and tasty. Next up, the lunch plate; the first impression was that the serving size again was generous. The chicken curry was OK. Not a lot of coconut milk, so it wasn't too rich, which can sometimes be a problem. The chicken was tender, and it had a ton of veggies (KUDOS for that...I need my veggies). However, it seemed to lack a little something: A little heat? Extra spices? I dunno. All in all, the curry wasn't very exciting, but it was good enough. Although I prefer brown rice (and I forgot to ask if they had any), the jasmine rice was perfectly cooked, and nothing ruins a meal faster than either gloopy or too toothsome rice. The green beans were way, WAY too salty. It was too bad. The black bean sauce on them tasted like paste from a jar, and I've used the paste before and made the same mistake by using too much; then again, I don't run a restaurant kitchen. I wish they weren't that salty as otherwise the texture was perfect. The beans were still a tiny bit crunchy, which is great, and they were very succulent, young beans, so they could have been exceptional. Again, too bad. Total cost for lunch with an iced tea and tip: maybe $22 or $23. My conclusion is that for Sausalito, that probably isn't too bad. But in the City or in the East Bay, I could get Thai that's likely twice as good...for about half as much, especially for lunch. I would much rather have smaller serving sizes of tasty food, at a better price. Can that be found in Sausalito?

I think I'm obsessed with Thai Iced Tea! Cute little lunch place, I like their salads and pastas. Lettuce wraps are also very good. Service is fast and prices are reasonable. My only grip is that they open kind of late (11ish) and sometimes I want Thai Iced Tea earlier than that :(

Kitti's Place is a great casual place to come in and have great food. I have been coming here for a few years and love that family owned atmosphere. Come and check it out, The food is great and I have tried almost everything on the menu, but, the Pad Thai is my all time favorite.

We just moved to Sausalito and our neighbors told us about this place and we are so glad they did. We have been there twice now and both times it was great. I am SO happy to find a place that makes Pad See Eu. They are SO friendly and VERY dog friendly. We will returning often! Tried the lettuce wraps- very good!

One zillion points off for super rancid croutons on my Caesar salad. I complained to two separate staff members but received essentially no response. Although I have had a couple of meals here in the past which were fine this is inexcusable. Rancid food is very risky and shows very poor management of the kitchen. It took a couple of hours to cleanse my pallet of the rancid flavor.

Not your traditional Thai restaurant, in fact, they mention on the menu that they specialize in California style Thai. This means there are items on the menu you wouldn't normally see at a strictly Thai establishment (particulary Americanized sandwiches etc). However, I stuck with the very typical Thai standards: The Spicy Lime soup with chicken, cilantro, noodles, mushrooms and tomatoes. It had just the right amount of spice yet for $4 it was probably the smallest cup of soup I've ever had. I also had the Pad Thai, which also had plenty of cilantro, chicken, and tofu. Very flavorful yet nothing out of the ordinary here. They do give you plenty of noodles so that you could easily split the dish...

Having the option to sit outside or in is one the pluses at Kitti's. The Thai-California food is excellent: try the fish tacos, kwak salad, or just about any dish as everything I have tried here is very good. The service is friendly and relaxed. A perfect spot for lunch.

It is very casual and California with a Thai flavor. The lettuce cups were outstanding -- a mix of chicken and shrimp and crispy wide (Phad Thai type) noodles, jicima, other surprises and a very well flavored sauce. It was perfect for an inexpensive, casual meal out.

From the moment I walked in to Kitti's, I felt like family. The staff is so welcoming and you see them greeting many customers by name. I'm a little cheap and old school, so i still cringe at spending more than $10 on lunch, but the portions and quality of the food are beyond worth it. I have eaten there several times now. My favorite dishes are the Spinach Noodle Soup with Chicken, Pad Se Ew (i think, wide noodles) with Chicken, the Fish Tacos and they name a special after the place next door Cross Fit, which is always a healthy dish and great. I've never been there for dinner, but I think the menu is the same.

Ordered linguine with creamy bell pepper sauce and it was so tasty! I can't wait to eat the other half in the fridge. Reminded me of something my mom used to make. Also probably the best Thai Iced Tea I've ever had. Quirky little place where there are a lot of regulars and the staff knows them. Prices reasonable...for Sausalito. Outdoor seating available. One small complaint was that they brought the food when it was ready instead of bringing everyone's food at the same time, but such a small kitchen, can't blame them too much.

We sat outside on a wonderful day and enjoyed a solid lunch. My boyfriend got the fish and chips (which turned out to be fried plaintains) and I got the mango-chutney turkey burger. Both were good and the prices were fine as well. Mine was $9, if memory serves me correctly. Good stuff. The service was solid as well. Overall, good place.
