Great place for Valentine's Day dinner! Many different Italian dinners to choose from. Loved the bread and oil at the beginning of the meal...Wine list was pretty awesome too...atmosphere was great to be in on a romantic evening

This place is good. The food is excellent if you're ever at the mall have lunch or dinner and they have great service, and it's worth the price.

Came this past Friday for a ladies night out. Had their speciality cocktail (the Sicilian and the elderflower drink) which were greet! Highly recommend spending the additional money for these drinks! For dinner, being a vegetarian I had the four cheese with the pesto Alfredo which was delicious. Their current deal allowed me to take another pasta home, always a plus to feed the husband on the weekend! My girlfriends had the italian sausage and gnocchi and the other had the chicken breast with lemon butter, both really enjoyed their dish. For dessert we had the brownie with ice cream, strawberries, and balsamic glaze. We unfortunately felt were a bit disappointed since we expect some hot sizzling brownie dish but it was more of a deconstructed dish. The balsamic was not good with the rest of the dessert items. Don't really recommend this dessert. Overall, a very great evening. The waiter was initially very slow to bring out the bread and our drinks, took about 45 mins but really made up for it once he realized we were a bit upset. Great intimate setting...will return if the food stays consistent!

Delish food! Great service, very attentive and fast......I wish the service was this good at all Sac restaurants.

Incredible value! For $40: two salads or a flatbread, two full sized entrees, and dessert share. THEN... When you're done, they bring out TWO MORE FULL SIZED ENTREES FOR YOU TO TAKE HOME. Incredible food! I had baked ziti which was off the hook. Super cheesy and a rich flavorful sauce. For my take-home entree I got fettuccine Alfredo which I'll have tomorrow. Arguably the best part though... The flatbread. Chicken with peppers and red onions, and balsamic vinegar drizzled. Amazing! And the dessert was on point as well, we got Apple Crostada. Incredible service! Our server, Dana, was delightful. Very attentive and entertaining all night long. My drink never got below half of a glass, and she was constantly bringing out more bread. A top-notch experience, to say the least! We'll be back for sure!

I absolutely love this place. You have to do family style...a fantastic deal! We have eaten here at least four times. We always order family style and get the beef tenderloin, the shrimp scampi, a chicken dish (varies by visit), calamari (so good) and sometimes zucchini. The service has always been good here. I love their sangria (the white), it is delicious. I think the pitcher is super small, but I still order it. The lemon cookies are really good (they just dont give you enough-I even asked for a couple more and was declined once), as are all of the desserts. Again this is good and you also have to try. Also it's nice to get a little Sinatra as the background music. Enjoy!

A friend and I had lunch in the Sacramento Maggiano's. Food was very good - they have a two for one option for $12.95. I had the the spaghetti marinara, very basic and good, and took home the Eggplant Parmesan to my wife who said hers was very good also. My friend had the chicken scalloping which he liked very much. Service was attentive, timely but not hovering - also very good. I have been a fan of this chain for a while and have had similar experience in the Costa Mesa CA and Tyson's Corners VA restaurants, both very positive experiences. The restaurant is very clean and nice. I can highly recommend.

I've been here a few times and every time regardless of how busy it is the service is spectacular. The food is amazing. I've done the family style menu multiple times and everything has been great. There pesto ravioli is one of my favorites and it's worth the money. It is a higher priced restaurant but the quality and service are worth it. All of my waiters have been super nice and helpful. Our drinks were always filled and I always walk out super stuffed with leftovers to take home. I highly recommend this place to all.

Maggiano's food is good. The only reason I rate this place a three is because the service is not that good. I asked for butter, and it took them five minutes to bring it! Also, my friend found a bug in his salad! That got me worried. The people there are really nice, but the service needs to be kicked up a knotch.

Loved the food, service, ambience, and prices. The lighter fare Chicken Alfredo was excellent!! Great lunch. I will be back with family and friends!!

Exceptional service and the food was delicious! We really enjoyed our meal. My husband and I ordered the meal for two and got the calamari appetizer, fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and shrimp, and the hot fudge chocolate brownie and same pastas to go. We love that you get a pasta each to go! Our server was extremely polite and tentative. I would recommend going during lunch. We will be eating there again soon!

I went there 2 days ago on my lunch break, working in the mall for several years the food options get pretty redundant so I tried this place.. and I'm so glad I did. It was really good. I love their one now and one take home meal for $13. I got eggplant parmesan and the mushroom ravioli. . Both really good and good portion. The manager greated us and set us.. he's a really cool guy and love that he's hands on when it comes to working the floor. I highly recommend this place when you want a nice dinner. Oh I almost forgot, the restaurant is beautiful, mood lighting, not too loud.. it would actually be a great date location.

The place was packed, and it took 4-5 minutes for someone to check us in. Luckily we were there on a dinner reservation and it didn't take too long to sit down. We didn't have a huge party but our waitress was not very responsive (but she was really nice and knew her menu well). The beef tenderloin medallions were sooooooo good; however my wife's tilapia was not that good :( Some of the prices seemed a little high, however that will not stop us from coming back!

Horrible food and service. Ordered their seafood pasta and got a huge headache right after eating it. Also, service is very slow. And the inside is too dark.

Stay away from this dumpster fire it's headed for bankruptcy it will last 6 mo. If it's lucky. They say everything's from scratch yeah right it's false advertisement. My girlfriend got food poised ON HER BDAY ! We're reporting this place to the health department ! Service sucks too!

A diamond in the rough, fabulous food, ambiance all at a great price located in the mall? Don't let the location fool you! The chefs special is nothing less than fabulous, highly recommended @ $39.00 you get 4, yes that's right 4 full meals! an appetizer AND desert. They give you 2 full meals to go!

We had a nice, delicious dinner at this restaurant. It was our first time and we made a reservation before hand so no waiting around for a table. The menu was simple with just enough varieties for everyone, but not too much where you feel overwhelmed with your dinner choice. Our server was awesome. The food was delicious. I thought the flavoring/seasoning was on point. Everything we had was really tasty. It wasn't under season nor was it heavily season, it was just perfect. I had a white base pasta sauce dish and it wasn't heavy at all. Very light and just on point. They served great crusty bread with extra virgin Olive oil at our table. Ended the meal with the mini dessert samplers...soo good. Especially their NY cheesecake. Definitely coming back to try more dishes.

PROLOGUE (because let's face it, this is a damn novel): To only read about food reviews, look out for asterisks (***). I have been looking forward to coming here all weekend long and so it breaks my heart a little bit to have to admit that I was very much let down this evening. First, let's dive into all the icky stuff. My friend and I were greeted promptly as we entered through the revolving door. The restaurant was jammed pack; I loved the energy of the place! It's a good thing we've made reservations and were seated right away. Our waiter came by shortly to introduce himself and asked for our beverage choices. They did not have strawberry lemonade available, but I was told that the raspberry lemonade was made fresh and would be as equally delicious. Okay, sounds good. Two please. While all this was going on, our waiter filled one of the small dish on our table with olive oil...for the bread...that have yet to be seen. He then left us to decide what we'd like to order. When he came back for us, he asked if we'd like some balsamic vinegar added in with the olive oil that's been sitting there untouched. Yes, we'd love some balsamic vinegar! ...AND SOME BREAD please, if it's not too much trouble. Apparently it was because after some more time, there were still no bread. We had to ask the lady who brought out our appetizer for some bread. She assured us that there are a ton in the back and that she'll grab it right away when she comes back out. She forgot us the first time around. At that very second, our waiter came by with a basket of bread the same time she did. I notice that one basket have 4 pieces, the other, only 3. Sloppy and inconsistent much? Now, let's critique the items that were brought out at this point individually for those only interested in the food and couldn't care less about the experience. ***Bread (with olive oil + balsamic vinegar): Nothing special. Certainly not something worth waiting three days for which we felt like we did. ***Raspberry lemonade: It is extremely hard for me to believe that this was something made fresh or from scratch. But at the same time, not really because even bottled stuff would've tasted better than this. The drinks were watered down, a bit bitter, VERY sour, and have almost no hint of any raspberries. In my mind, I was expecting the real deal. Mashed up bits of raspberries in sweet and tangy refreshing lemon juice. It was nothing like that. Instead, it tasted a lot like MiO liquid water enhancer. ***Grilled asparagus: They used the tiny kinds that no utensils provided could have picked up. The struggle was real just trying to take a bite of them. In the end, was it worth the battle? Not really. Every stem was as bland as the next. Oh, and of course, they forgot the slices of lemon I had asked for. Bread was free. Lemonades were sent back, replaced by ice water. And grilled asparagus was just bland, not nasty. So, whatever. We'll live. What's most important was yet to come. DUN DUN DUN!!! Here comes the entrees. ***Pasta: Presentation was absolutely horrid. If we're going to continue to be completely honest, then I gotta tell you, it looked as though somebody threw up on that plate. It was a big, heaping, pile of...something. THANK GOODNESS it tasted a lot better than it looked. But by the way that it was looking, that's not really saying much. So let's get specific. The pasta was cooked right. The lobster was tasty. The sauce was packed full of flavors. It was rich and creamy, but not at all overwhelming. But the snap peas...oh gawd. That stuff was almost raw. And after sitting around in the dish, the flavors of them infused with the rest of the ingredients creating a metal-like taste. My friend compared it to something from an auto shop. Either way, not cool. It was something even the bacon bits couldn't save and I am a bacon mania. ***Steak: 3 small individual pieces of sirloin topped with Portobello mushroom. Asked for medium well. They overcooked it. It was bland and unsalted. Aside from the excessive amount of gravy the whole dish was soiled in, the meat was quite dry. The garlic mashed potatoes, I'd go as far as comparing them to the boxed stuff. Very unimpressive. On top of that, the food was a bit cold. What a nightmare. However, what they lack in food quality, they try making up for through great service. This review would have been a 2 star. But they earned the extra one for the genuine effort I've witnessed. Aside from the ridiculous bread incident, our waiter remained very polite and attentive. He was extremely accommodating. We were both very pleased to see that he was clearly trying his best to ensure customers' satisfaction. The manager also came by to check on us. He was a respectful and friendly gentlemen, and our feedback were well received. This definitely gave me confidence that the restaurant does have a lot of potential, and I would very much like to see them improve and thrive. Til' next time, Maggiano's!

This is a quaint little romantic spot for a date :) The atmosphere is very nice and customer service cannot be beat. Our waitress was instantly there to clear dishes, fill water, etc. The portions are huge! Food is pretty run of the mill Italian, tasted like something I could've made at home. We did the $40 for two deal, and it came with an appetizer, two "plain" pasta dishes and a dessert, which is a pretty good price considering you get two plain pasta dishes to-go as well. Total carb overload!! I know they have a lot of "light" options that are offered but even those are 1000+ calories so beware. I would've liked to see more healthful options with whole wheat pasta or veggie options.

I am officially giving up on finding decent Italian food in Sacramento and that is sad. Last night I was apprehensive to try a restaurant that was at the mall and I should have listened to my instinct. The staff was fine. Our server was very helpful considering this was our first time and the menu was a little overwhelming. My son ordered the flat bread which was the best item we had. My husband had a small chopped salad which was swimming in dressing and our main courses were steak medallians for me and spaghetti and meatballs for him. He also ordered Lasagna to go as part of their eat one here/take one out option. The steak itself was fine and cooked to order but it was swimming is sauce. The spaghetti wasn't great. I could have easily made something better and quickly. I ordered a glass of wine and the total was over $90.00. Overpriced for the quality. My suggestion is to forget about the oversized portions and 'take one meal to go' marketing gimmick and give me better quality, more authentic Italian food. Un altro morde la polvere!

I decided to go here and try it out with my boyfriend since he had a gift card but we weren't going with high expectations based off word of mouth and the fact that my family is italian and it's not the same as home cooking. Boy was I wrong! Everything from the stuffed mushrooms to the Caesar salad to the lasagna and raviolis to the amazing cheesecake was out of this world delicious. We sat in the cocktail area where Chris the bartender took care of us with pride, knowledge, friendliness, and professionalism. Plus we got the 3 course deal where the chef sends home a meal for later which was the cherry on top! I will be returning!

This was a perfect dining experience! Decided to brave the holiday crowds in Sacramento and wouldn't you know it, my favorite restaurant is in the area now. (LOVED the restaurant in Orlando...not so much the one in San Jose). We got seated in the bar area right after the doors opened and had the pleasure of having Chris the bartender wait on us. Very knowledgable, professional and a great representation for the restaurant. There when we needed him...and not there when we didn't. Had a great sense of humor too! We each had the 'eat one meal there, take one home for later'. Chris recommended the (special) Lobster Mac n Cheese and it was great. Pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce had an excellent texture and flavor and thankfully, the lobster was NOT overcooked. I had the mushroom stuffed pasta (I cannot for the life of me remember the correct name for it) in a light garlicky cream sauce and it was amazing. Just enough sauce to complement the dish, NOT take it over and the filling wasn't just mush but had a good, actual mushroom texture. One thing we both noticed, and Chris warned us about, the plates were smokin hot. The positive of this being that up to the last bite, the meal remained hot, not cooling down to luke warm. Tonight, we'll be having Spaghetti in meat sauce and Baked Ziti with no meat and I can't wait. I would also like to add (without going into specifics here) that Chris acknowledged my husbands military service in a very nice way at the end of our visit and we both were grateful.

Food was delicious! Went for our anniversary and wasn't very romantic. It's just not that kind of place. If you are looking for a place to take family and enjoy good portions and good food then this place is perfect!

About as close you can come to finding authentic Italian food in New York City at Carmines. They aren't Carmines portions but that's ok. We've been here several times and the chef or manager has always come out to greet us and handle any questions or dietary requirements of any member in our party.

TL;DR: The meal for six with a reservation of 6:45p did not complete until almost 10pm. It's a great deal to get the meal for two and portions are always large (many pasta dishes are always "buy one take one home"), but the experience at the Sacramento Maggiano's was definitely sub-par to what I have experienced in San Jose and Southern California. It wasn't horrible, but it definitely was an hour longer than it should have been. If I had not been in good company I would have much more upset. // I made a reservation for my sister's surprise birthday the day before. I asked if three of our six could be seated earlier so it could be a surprise, and the person on the phone said it would be fine and to just mention it is for the surprise. I called the day of an hour early to confirm and the hostess insisted all individuals had to be present to be seated. When I said it was a surprise and that would completely ruin it, she said, "well that's unfortunate." When I showed up with my sister, the hostess looked at me and said, "oh yes. Party of SIX?" and my sister looked at me. She repeated, "Unfortunately we need the WHOLE party here to seat." We stood in the crowded entry with two chairs and waited. When we were seated I found a manager and he said he would make sure training was done and apologized for the hostess not making a special case for the surprise. He said he would come by and check on the table and briefly stopped to help drop off food. The restaurant itself was freezing and the servers insisted there was nothing they could do to change it. Near the end we were huddling in our jackets and my feet were going numb. Our server was friendly, but extremely slow. We had been seated 45 minutes and asked other random servers for bread twice before our orders were taken. We ordered the Shrimp Scampi, Salmon Oscar, and two "dinner for two" deals which consisted of the ziti, cheese ravioli, mushroom ravioli, and eggplant parm. I don't remember reading the ziti has sausage, but there were large chunks of meat and the pasta was very dry. Within 10 minutes it was turning white and reverting back to a pre-cooked state. The rest of the food was tasty. I had brought a chocolate cake and asked it to be brought out before dessert was ordered so my sister wouldn't order a chocolate cake in addition. The person I spoke to looked excited and said, "yes! I know this cake! It's actually getting prepared now! I'll make sure to let the server know." Instead of the cake coming out, we sat there for ten minutes before the server came out and asked us what we wanted to order for dessert. I mouthed, "cake" he replied out loud, "I know, we have it coming. So what do you want to order? Or are you just having the cake?" The cake came out and it was another 20 minutes or so before we were able to put in our final orders and get the check.

I went in for the second time thinking it was over priced. I am WRONG!!! For $12.95, you get a pasta dish to eat at the restaurant AND one to eat at home the next day. At the restaurant yesterday, I had the Eggplant Parmesan. At home, I just ate the baked Ziti. .. both VERY good and worth every penny. I will be back!!!

I die. Linguini with clams in their white wine sauce was soo good! Food has that homey Italian feel that Olive Garden can't even attempt to replicate. Sausage vegetable soup was delicious a total bowl of comfort Our waitress was awesome! Super friendly and recommend her favorites. Also serves fresh bread

I came here for a birthday lunch with the office and the building itself is gorgeous and right now it's decorated for the holiday season! We arrived and were waited on by a friendly younger guy and he was attentive with refilling the bread... But not so much on the drinks. We placed our orders and it took about an hour to get our food! Once we got our meals some things were forgotten and management came out and apologized sincerely... So it seems they really do care and that's nice to know. I had ordered the lighter take on the baked ziti and it was awesome! The chicken sausage was so good! And it was even better later that night when I reheated it in the oven for dinner! I would for sure recommend this place if you have unlimited amounts of time to sit and enjoy the experience. Would've given 5 stars had the food come out a little faster.

Still the best in service. Every time we dine here (including other locations) we always get an exceptional service. You'll have good food as well as ambiance without ripping your pocket. I love how they always go above and beyond. It's now in our go-to-list.

I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. My hubby had the sausage and gnocchi which was a little dense (made from potato!) but flavorful. I had the chicken rigatoni which was lighter and pretty flavorful. We'd both get our meals again. Service was fine but we came for an early lunch on a Tuesday so it was dead. Would I crave it? Probably not. I guess my biggest issue was paying $50 for pasta that was "fine" & a forgettable side salad. At least Olive Garden is more affordable and includes salads with most of their entrees!

An hour and a half and no food. Came in with a party and everyone got their food but us. Who does that? Kept getting promises that it will come out but nothing. Waiters kept apologizing but nothing was getting done. Our entire party finished eating and actually paid for their meals and still we were sitting there hungry. Never coming back! Worst restaurant experience ever!

Maggiano's Little Italy is OK Italian food. Not authentic Italian cooking. Service is excellent, but it comes at a price. We came in as a party of 10. Quickly seated and water was brought out. Waiters/waitresses explained the menu and what our best option was, which was the family-style. Its basically all-you-can-eat for about $30 per person. The appetizers (Fried Calamari and Artichoke/Cheese dip) were pretty good. Nice flavor. For entrees, we had Spaghetti with Meatballs, Gnocchi with Italian Sausage, Chicken Piccata, and Peppercorn-crusted Steak Medallions. Spaghetti with Meatballs was probally the best out of all the entrees. Nice flavor in the tomato sauce and meatball was tender and moist. Gnocchi was heavy and doughy. No flavor in the sauce and very little Italian Sausage. Chicken Piccata was OK. It wasn't dry. Steak Medallions were dry and overcooked. The Mashed Potatoes that came with it were lumpy and bland. For dessert we had Tiramasu and the Apple Crostada. Didn't try the Tiramasu. The Apple Crostada was tart and crisp. Service is where this place shines. Servers were friendly and quick to help. They helped explain the menu and the best option was for our party. Continuously came by to see if we wanted more food or drinks. For the amount of money you spend here, I expected so much more. Food was pretty flavorless and bland. Feel like Old Spaghetti Factory is better tasting.

We came here on the 3rd evening they were open. My mom and I have been to the one in San Jose a few times and adore it. So, I was very excited when I saw there was even plans for a Maggiano's in Sacramento! This place did not disappoint!! We got the meal for two which includes one appetizer, 2 pasta dishes for there and 2 to take home, along with dessert and I swear it was under $40. How can they do that with the quality they provide? But I'm glad that they can do it. We had the calamari to start, which was perfect. They serve it along with the tentacles, which are the best part! Next I had the lasagna and my mom got the mushroom ravioli. Both were amazing and were huge portions. We ended with the pound cake dessert that had caramelized bananas. Everything was delicious! Can't wait to go back again! After we finished our meal, the manager came by and checked on us and chatted for a while. This was a nice touch to our delicious experience.

I was really impressed with this new chain restaurant at the Arden fair mall. We had the meal for two that came with one appetizer, 2 entrees and 1 dessert. The lighter side fettuccine was pretty good for being only 850 calories. The mama's lasagna was also really good. I thought the calamari was the best though and the portions are huge.

I want to go there so badly now after reading A.M.'s review and apologize to Steve and everyone else in that place for the agony they endured trying to serve those dysfuctional people. Please someone tell me who that poor suffering waitress was so that I might have the honor of being seated at her section and can tip her generously.

First of all, I'm a returnee. I have dined in at this same location about a month or less ago. I had a fantastic experience, and the food was fabulous. I couldn't wait to visit Maggiano's again with my boyfriend and family and friends. I was all about this place! Then...I placed an order to go. My boyfriend and I were getting off from work and we were both absolutely starving. I ordered to go, and the girl who took my order seemed very sweet. I explained to her I wanted the same exact meal as I got last time. The FANTASTIC CALAMARI with a tartar sauce they served last time, and a classic dish...with the take home classic dish. She informed me it was an extra $5.00 and I agreed to pay that, and I also confirmed with her my order of the classic dish. I wanted one lighter choice Alfredo, and the other take home would be the baked ziti. She said yes. I walked in very excited, and I was brought to the bar to get my food. The bartender explained my total was $46 something....appalled I asked her why and I needed to correct this order. She was very brief and wasn't very helpful at all. In fact, the only thing she offered was "I'll take one of them off the menu, which one?" I understood her, and her briefness so I told her to take the Ziti off. Frustrated, but understanding I paid the remaining balance. I looked in the bag, and they forgot my calamari sauce, so I informed her... and I waited about 10 minutes for the sauce...and ended up leaving. I shouldn't have had to wait 10 minutes for a sauce, nor should I have waited there for 10 minutes without anyone helping me or acknowledging me. I've worked in retail and the restaurant biz for quite sometime, and I know that customer service and a "are you still doing okay?" goes a long way. So we ended up leaving...without the sauce. I open the calamari in the car, and it tasted like horrible. I am not even exaggerating. I was so embarrassed because I had glorified maggianos to the fullest, and said "this is the best Calamari I have ever tasted up and down California." It was a major disappointment, and the amount given was a terribly small portion. I don't usually care about portions; however, when it taste terrible and you're comparing it to a previous experience...it's hard not to notice. We then moved on from the horrible tasting calamari, and opened up my lighter choice Alfredo. WHAT A BIGGER DISAPPOINTMENT. The last time I went to Maggianos, the portion was amazing. I didn't even know what to do with the rest. I picked the whole take out portion with a fork. Not to mention the food, it was completely bland. My boyfriend and I are not food critics by any means, but this was by far the worst tasting meal we have ever had. I'm sorry to say, this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. It's such a shame because I was planning to bring my whole Birthday party of 20+ of family and friends to join me there in January. I cannot bring myself to come back with such a terrible customer service experience and terrible food. Again, I've never written a view this horrible, and I feel terrible writing it. I just felt compelled to share my experience with you as it was a very frustrating experience.

Really very mediocre. Server was the best thing this place had going. She was professional and on top of everything. Problem was that the food was really quite bad. My husband ordered the veal scallopinne and it was in edible. They took it off the bill, but this on top of the tastelessness of the rest of the food, made for a very poor experience. Such a waste of money. Olive Garden is gourmet compared to this.

The food is very delicious the calamari is nice, fresh & creepy. The peach iced tea is very yummy & a nice out of the hot weather. The staff is friendly. The mushroom is the best dish I ever taste & it's one of the best staffs dish that they ever tasted. I would considered to come back & eat here again.

My favorite Italian restaurant!!! Was so excited to hear that a locations was opening in Sac. Decided to have my 30th birthday here. We were a party of 10 and decided on family style which included 3 appetizers 4 entrees and 2 desserts. Unlimited!!! They don't stop bringing out food til you're full. Calamari....ravioli... Lasagna... Tiramisu my absolute favorite. A couple of the dishes were a little lacking in sauce, but I think give them a few more months to work out some kinks and everything will be fabulous like the one in Vegas. Service was great everyone had a great time.

Decided to try this place with a few friends. The atmosphere is great; good place for a group. The decor is awesome, really feels like a taste of Italy! I had the Steak Sandwich, which I highly recommend, but each dish ordered looked phenomenal! So why 2 stars? While everything about this place was awesome, it took about an hour to get our food. Maybe I'm being too critical; maybe they need that extra time to make each dish fantastic. However, my other issue with the wait time is the food did not come out all at once. Some got their plates others had to wait. One got his side before his actual entre! So, I would recommend to a friend, but make sure you have time spare. By the time I got my plate, I had to eat really fast and go, so I wasn't able to fully enjoy the flavor--maybe next time.

5 stars - service. We were very lucky to have a smiling and friendly waiter. The food is excellent; bread is also great! Not to mention the dessert sampler. I highly recommend this place. We went back for the dessert sampler 2 days later and still the waitress was very nice and accommodating. The ambiance is also nostalgic and great jazzy music. I will definitely come back again.

It was on a Tuesday night that I enjoyed Maggiano's for the first time. The service was perfect! Naomi visited the table just enough to service us without bugging us! Our food arrived hot and tasted delicious! No matter what day of the week I go back, I know I will enjoy Maggiano's.

No no no. We went here the night before CIM, a big marathon and relay race. The only way to eat pasta, or have any vegetarian options, is to order off of the 2-entree menu, where you have to take one home. Service was lousy, the ambiance did not match the entry decor, and it took forever to get our food. Our food tasted reasonably good, but the menu was seriously limiting if you are just hungry for pasta.

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday dinner about a month ago, and it was an amazing experience. The ambiance is fantastic, the drinks (I got a pomegranate martini with rosemary) was outstanding, and the food was incredible. I have celiac disease, so I have to stay far away from any gluten, and the staff was very attentive to my condition. The chef personally came out to discuss my options and gave his personal recommendations. Not only was he attentive and professional, but he was extremely friendly. He came to check up on us twice throughout the meal and even brought me a box of gluten free pasta from the kitchen right before we left so I could take it home with me. With both the food and the customer service being incredible, I will definitely be back here. It is at the very top of my list. Thank you Maggianos!

Best experience i've had at a restaurant in a while now! Everything was amazing. Customer service was great, our waitress was welcoming and funny. The food was amazing and fresh. I had the chicken piccata and my bf had the chicken parm, both were delicious! I'll definitely be back soon!

Service was 5 star. Our server was on-pointe with everything! Ambience was great! It didn't feel like we were at a restaurant at the Arden Mall. Felt more like something I would find downtown. The food was amazing! I got the four cheese ravioli with pesto Alfredo, and mg husband got the lasagna which was really good! They might put Buca di Beppo out of business! Btw, get the pound cake dessert! It's homemade and sooo good! I can't wait to go back!

Really good food. Friendly and knowledgeable service. I had the Balsamic Salmon and husband had the Filet, both were cooked to order and delicious. Also enjoyed the zucchini appetizer, which was crisp, as it should be. The spinach salad was great and not drowned in dressing. And the Apple crostata for dessert was great! Give Maggiano's a try!!

Five stars for excellent service and food! My boyfriend and I came in and got seated right away during lunch hour, our server started us off with warm bread with olive oil and balsamic. For appetizer we ordered their fried calamari, the portion was huge, definitely your money's worth, they came out served with lemon and marinara sauce I believe, Bc it didn't taste like the usual cocktail sauce, but it was still good! The calamari tasted fresh, one of the best I've had I must say, entree wise we got they're lunch combo deals, again the portions are big definitely your money's worth, we both couldn't even finish it. I had their tomato soup with chopped salad, the soup was really good however a bit too tangy, and the chopped salad was nice and light and refreshing, it was topped with tomatoes and blue cheese and apple smoked bacon, dressing wise I don't remember what it was but it was a light dressing, my boyfriend order half a salmon sandwich and a side spinach salad, the salmon sandwich came along side with potatoe wedges, overall definitely coming back! Everything was wonderful!

The waitress Dana was very friendly as well as the executive chef that came out to have us a try an appetizer on the house... Food was very good as well. Good place to have a company party. I didn't give it 5 stars only because the hostess was talking to me and in mid sentence she turned to talk to her coworker and never got back to me. I had to direct myself to another hostess.

I really liked this place, it's new in sacramento and the food is great, most interesting thing was that you get to take home additional entree .. Which awesome !!! I was so happy about it. Surrounding was very nice. Our waiter was very nice and helpful with the meal ideas. It was my 1st time there so I really enjoyed the food, Desert and the company I had. I am looking forward to going to the restaurant again soon.

From the moment we walked in we got phenomenal service. We did the "pasta deal" where you have a pasta and take one to go. The deal includes an appetizer, pasta and a dessert. We were served by Jordyn and she was very spot on! We also met one of the managers, Will, who also provided outstanding service. Overall, great food and great service. Good service is pretty nonexistent these days so this place gets 5 stars!

First off, I just wanted to say that I am not a "yelp-er" BUT after my first experience here, I decided I needed to write a yelp review about this AMAZING restaurant and our AWESOME server Monae (hopefully this is how you spell it). We came to celebrate my cousin's 17th birthday tonight and we were seated within 15 minutes for a huge party. Monae was very helpful with the menu and made many delicious recommendations. She was very fun and down to earth and that made our experience awesome. We got a 3 appetizers: tomato caprese, mussels and friend calamari...all were so delicious and gone within minutes. Our entrees were very huge and so tasty. YOU MUST TRY THE CHICKEN PARMESAN!!! SO GOOD. Overall this was an excellent first time experience here. I was very pleased with the service here. I've worked in the food industry before and I know how hectic it can get in a restaurant setting but the employees did a excellent job. I definitely recommend coming here and I definitely will be back :)

How the hell does this place have such great reviews? I don't understand but let me explain before you decide to eat here. I'm all for spending money at an establishment for a great meal, but for a mediocre meal? Wasn't worth the 70 dollars I forked out for the evening. Me and boyfriend decided to have lunch at maggianos this afternoon and walked into a very beautiful restaurant. I enjoyed the look of the tables, although I feel like they were all kind of smooshed together into one room. We were seated and greeted by server who brought us drinks and bread. We ordered the 2 for 40 meal deal and added a cup of soup to come out with our appetizer of choice, Calamari. We waited a sufficient amount of time for the first course but our server kept in touch with us and made sure we had enough bread. The tomato bisque was ok. I've had better at safeway (btw their tomato bisque is rockin!). The calamari was crisp and delicious. After our first course we waited with empty drinks for awhile since our server was busy. When our food came out, I already knew it would be disappointing. My ziti barely had sauce and the cheese was JUST melted so it was a nice white blob on my bowl of plain pasta. And yup, tasted just as bland and sad as it looked. My boyfriend ordered the lasagna, and since my server was really weeded I just took some of boyfriends sauce from his lasagna, which reminded me of boyardee. Both of our meals were sad and depressing, and I really regreted coming here at this point. We got the pound cake and it was alright. The fudge seemed out of place, caramel would've complimented the bananas better. I paid and tipped the laughable 22 percent, my server was decent not excellent but I would never blame him for the food. Our take home meals were such a joke I'm laughing even thinking about them! I took home the lighter fare fettuccine alfredo with asparagus and my boyfriend the spaghetti and meatballs. My fettuccine was VERY over cooked, the sauce had no flavor, the chicken was rubbery, and the one meatball that came on my boyfriends take home boyardee spaghetti had chunks of BREAD still inside of it. God, maggianos could you seriously be anymore cheap? I spent 70 dollars and feel robbed. Next time I want Italian I'm going to Pasquales Italian pizzeria in fair oaks. MAGNIFICENT place. Go there instead. I wrote this just to warn you and save you all your money. One and a half stars for service, half star for the food.

I have loved the food from Maggiano's for years. Glad to see they have finally arrived to the Sacramento area. Gnocchi with Vodka sauce is a favorite. As a suggestion, we order the sausage on the side. Eggplant Parmesan is also a favorite. And if you order a classic pasta dish, you get to take another classic pasta (any choice from their classic pasta menu) dish home for free. Their lighter side menu is also pretty tasty for those thinking it will be bland. Grand opening was on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014.

I'm totally in love with the food! The husband and I were spontaneous and tried them out for my birthday; lucky us it turned out to be a wonderful idea! We had their special--order two and take two to-go. I had the lighter fettuccine alfredo and took home the eggplant parm; husband had the lasagna and took home the ziti. We both shared the chocolate brownie. I had been saving my calories for this big day and it was worth every bite! Give em a try; portion is pretty big and the ambiance is a delight as well. OMG, I the calamari was.to .die.for! Seriously, best calamari I've had yet. So fresh and lightly battered and seasoned...I'm drooling and acting like an air head. Guess that's what happens when I get GREAT food.

Stacey was a terrific server. Very attentive even when it's a packed house. We made reservations using the yelp app and were seated 10 minutes early. The drinks are great and appetizers delicious, I suggest the artichoke and spinach dip. My first bite of the rustic chicken and shrimp pasta was amazing!!! Please go here and keep it open.

What can I say about Maggiano's other than the food excellent, the service stellar and the ambiance gorgeous. Went there to celebrate my son's 21st birthday and wow it was worth every penny. We got a wonderful seat (big booth in the corner) and they accommodated every request including a wonder plate of lemon cookie for the birthday boy. We loved the wine to the dessert and everything in between and the take home entrees delicious. I had the chicken manicotti which was creamy and the pasta perfectly al dente. The other entrees at the table were the salmon (beautiful and fragrant with lemon and herbs) the ravioli (wonderful balance of flavors and texture) the lasagna (layers of sauce and cheese that melted in your mouth) and the fettuccini alfredo (according to my son best he's ever had). We had the dessert sampler and individual dessert all of which were heaven my personal favorite was the Tiramisu but the apple crustata was running a strong second. All I can say is that food taste like someone's Nonna was in that kitchen feeding us with love and experience Bravo Maggiano's Bravo. We will be back again and again.

Thank you also to our server Beth!!!

So tonight we decided to try this place out. Mind you we go to il fornaio and bucca, so we really like our italian food. I was thrown back by the atmosphere it was awesome. The ambience was subtle and it was like how an Italian restaurant should be. We were promptly seated and our waitress Naomi, who by the way was awesome too, introduced us to the menu, their style and drinks. This woman studied the menu and that is awesome not many do. She even asked about allergies. She was on fire! So we ordered the bruschetta which was great the balsamic reduction added to the taste. We both had side salads which was great. As for the entree I ordered the lasagna and in their menu if you order a pasta item they will give you a complementary one to take home for lunch tomorrow. So because I had the lasagna I asked for spaghetti and meatballs for my take home meal. We finished our meal. When I got home to put my lunch for the next day away the portion was huge! It was not the crappy Olive Garden extra bowl you ask for on unlimited pasta night, it was a portion enough for two. My lasagna was $14.95, and I got another meal too. This business also has a great happy hour 3-6 $3 beers and $4 flatbreads. I was very pleased with this establishment and it needs to continue its aggressive pricing and great service. Naomi was a great representative of the business and if you get her I am sure you will be happy.

I've been wanting to come here since they opened and this place didn't disappoint. We had reservations and were seated right away. Everything on the menu sounded delicious and so we decided to go with the family style option. The base price is about $31 per person and that includes your choice of 3 appetizers, 4 entrees and 2 desserts. For the appetizer, we went with the mussels, calamari and spinach and artichoke dip. The mussels were very tasty! They were cooked in this tomato broth that was a bit spicy. The best part about family style is that once you finish the plate, the server asks you if you want more at no added cost! So naturally, we got another order of mussels appetizer. The other appetizers were quite tasty as well and we could have asked for another order, but I really wanted to save whatever room I had left in my stomach for the entrees. For the entrees, we ordered the salmon oscar, beef medallions, parmesan crusted tilapia and linguine with clams. I would like to mention that if you go with the more expensive options like the beef medallions or salmon, there is a $9 upcharge per person per dish. So our $31 per person ended up being close to $50 per person. It was still worth it because it's really all you can eat. We ate so much that the server ended up bringing us another order of everything and the best part is that you can take all the leftovers home. Although you can only choose two dessert items, everyone got their own dessert. We left very satisfied and I am excited about coming back to try other items on the menu!

Great service! Hubby and I came on our anniversary. For $40 we got an appetizer, 2 dinners, dessert and also got a meal each to go for free! And then the waiter found out it was our anniversary so he gave us free cookies with our free meals to go. Then! We loved the tiramisu so much we ordered one to go and they didn't charge us since it was our anniversary! We will recommend to everyone!!

The food is truly delicious. The beef medallions are some of the best dressed and best cooked beef dishes available for the price. The service is professional and enjoyable and the extra food and carry out specials make Maggiano's a great value and a smart choice.

My friend and I went last night and the food was very lovely! Every dish we had, from appetizer (fried calamari) to dessert (tiramisu), was all very tasty! However, the place was busy and the wait between courses were quite long, and the bread was a bit too good with their oil and vineger dip, so we lost control and ate too much of the bread and could not finish our pasta lol.

I have never written a wholly negative review on Yelp before, so something truly "special" must have happened at Maggiano's. We arrived on a Saturday night, it was a spur of the moment decision after doing some shopping at the Arden Fair mall. We were informed that it was going to be a 45-60 minute wait, so we opted to take a booth in the bar area. The first thing we realized was how freaking cold it was. My girl, being from the bay area, had a light weight jacket which she quickly zipped up. It had been a sunny winter day, so I only had a tee shirt and light weight pullover which I happened to grab last minute before we left the house. The table had a marble top, and it was definitely cold enough to roll candy on. A few minutes later our server comes out with warm french bread and pours olive oil (kept in a neat caddy on the table) onto a plate. Balsamic vinegar is traditionally included in a Mederetaiinian set up like this, but not at Maggiano's. So we asked for some. Our server was nice enough to pour a puddle on the plate and ferret it away again. We asked her to bring it out one more time for us, which she did only to put it back in the vault again.... humm must be the REALLY good stuff (came in a half liter bottle though). We order two Mojitos, which were fair, and order. We decide to go with a shared three course meal (shared appetizer, separate entree and shared desert). With this deal you also get to choose two more entrees to take home with you from a limited menu. Two loaves of bread later our fried calamari came out. They were warm, crispy with a hint of chew. They were not greasy at all. The marinara was warm, a little bland, but adequate. We slowed down eating appetizer, anticipating the entrees to be coming out any moment... but no. We finely finished the last of calamari just as the last wisp of heat was sucked out of them by the marble table. Then we wait. We passed the better part of the time waiting for the entrees talking about the obvious, how freaking cold we were and how the ice was not melting in our mojitos. As we sat, and sat, we noticed the staff bustling around in dark pants and starched white shirts buttoned all the way to the neck. We deduced that the temperature was set to the comfort of the staff, not the patrons. Several awkward staff sung Brithday songs later, our entrees came. She, the mushroom stuffed ravioli in cream sauce, me, the spaghetti and meat ball (singular) in marinara sauce (poor choice, having already tasted the marinara with the appetizer). Both entrees were mediocre at best. The ravioli came on an oven heated plate, which I was secretly hoping would warm up the table a bit (I am surprised it did not shatter when it hit the anti-griddle of a table). Disappointed, I ate the meat ball and poked at the spaghetti only to push the plate to the side (figured it would not loose anything as far as taste if I took it home and nuked it in the morning). Entrees gone, now we wait. We take turns complaining about the cold and taking turns using the restrooms. The mens was fine, but it was reported to me that the ladies was a mess. Clogged toilets and trash overflowing to the point where the overfilled bin was blocking the Dyson hand drier (not the cool blade one). We contemplated desert and my girl decided on the chocolate cake. Ahhhh! An excuse for coffee drinks to buck the cold! I step outside for a bit in hopes of warming up, asking my girl to order me an Irish Whisky with desert, should the waitress return. Ten minutes later I return to a cleared table and no drinks. My girl leans forward and whispers to me not to be surprised if they screwed up my drink. She explains to me that despite the full bar with plenty top shelf liquor, she had to tell the waitress several times what goes into a Irish Coffee. My girl had picked a slightly more complicated coffee drink, but explained how to make it as well. So what did I end up with? A luke warm mug of Bailies Irish Coffee. I hate Bailies, but decide to suck it down before the warmth of it drains away. Out came the chocolate cake, and it was AWESOME! Think giant truffle. It was filled with chocolate cream with thin layers of chocolate sponge running trough. It was covered in a thick genoise and dusted with a bit of powdered sugar. it sat on streaks of chocolate and caramel sauce. It was huge, delicious, and packed enough calories to feed a small village. Lastly, the bill. We rang out at just over $90, including her $22.50 coffee drink. We argued our case. My drink was wrong and hers was over priced. We managed to get my Bailies disaster comped, but they stood fast on hers, saying it was three premium shots at $7.50 a piece. I'd hate to know what they charge for a Long Island! In short, we froze our @sses off for three disjointed servings of mediocre food and were overcharged for lousy drinks. Save your hard earned cash.

Located in Arden Mall, the place has nice interior with plenty of space. Dimly lit so it's a good place to take a date you wanna impress. My pasta was pretty good. It wasn't amazing but I did enjoy it. I was also starving so maybe I just didn't care. I ordered the Salmon pasta. I would definitely come back if I was in the area.

First visit here earlier today. And I was quite impressed. My boyfriend and I decided to get the Taylor Street Baked Ziti, and the Four-Cheese Ravioli and shared. Topped it all off with the New York cheesecake (DELISH!!!!) We weren't able to take any photos because we were so excited to try the food. And we weren't disappointed. Everything was affordable, not too pricy. Excellent service, thank you Roxy! Definitely our new favorite go-to Italian restaurant now.

Im not one to give out all 5 stars, but wow. This place makes Bucca di Beppo look bad! The food was fabulous, the service was incredible, and the atmosphere was relaxing! We ordered the dine for two meal, which included an appetizer, two pasta plates, and dessert for two. We even got to choose another pasta plate to take home for later at no extra charge. My fiance told the waitress, Beth, that I was pregnant with out second child (son) and she was also very excited. At the end of our meal she brought our dessert with two candles, one standing for a safe trip home and the other standing for the birth of a healthy child in hope we return after he arrives. She even gave me a hug. Yeah, that was awkward but beyond sweet. She rocked! I highly recommend this restaurant! By the way, it is pricey, but I'd pay it over any other restaurant. Best experience that we have ever had at a restaurant! Of course, don't take my word for it....go check it out for yourself, you won't regret it! Thank you Maggiano's!

I had a good experience dining here last month. I had a Birthday reservation around 830 pm for about 13 people. They promptly served us when half of our party came in. The majority of us ordered the Marcos Meal which I thought was a great deal. It came with with an appetizer, two entrees, dessert and two more entrees to go which was only about $40. I had calamari to start and we ordered the Ravioli and Chicken Alfredo which were both delicious. We ordered the Lasagna and Spaghetti to go. The dessert I had was the Tiramisu was very tasty. I only gave four stars because our original server did not tell us he was leaving. The new servers mentioned that he had to go home and were very helpful but were kind of lost on on who got what order and what were to go orders. Other than that, they were very friendly. All in all a great place to eat and service was top notch.

Hostess was non compliant with walk in customers.. When we came in she was on the phone with a customer but was not effective enough to call for the other hostess. When we finally were seen they were quite apologetic, but why when the original hostess was too blame. What made it worse was when the apologetic hostess seated us she said she would be back with bread... 10 minutes later...? Wow

Worst service ever, my spouse and I sat for 10 mins with no service we had to wave down a manager name Will. Will took our order and was very pleasant but James the waiter was horrible. We watched him service everyone around us, we received no water, no condiments for the bread he dropped off. I will never step foot again in that restaurant that I made advance reservation to. We never ate we left due to the long wait for food n service from James.

Meh. Have been to others, but in this neighborhood Buca di Beppo remains superior. Buca at least knows how to make chicken saltimbocca. This place turns it into a marsalla. Nothing special here based on our first visit, but the lunch combo is a good deal.

Maggiano's is new in Sacramento so we decided to swing in for a drink and check out the menu. My husband and I went into the bar section and found really helpful bartenders who all tried to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. We both decided to get pasta plates while we were there and were surprised to find out we also got to choose another pasta plate each to take home free. My husbands Alfredo was a bit bland but my ravioli was really good and both our take home pastas were good. Next time we go, we are definitely going to make reservations and take our time to enjoy the experience more fully as I think this might turn into one of our date night restaurants.

Last night was date night for me and my husband. After reading all the reviews we decided to try Maggiano's Little Italy. When we arrived we were greeted and brought to our table right away (it was a week night, so there wasn't very many people dining in). We were immediately impressed with the ambiance. The restraunt was beautiful and the dim lighting was romantic. Our server Jessica was very sweet and attentive, she brought us fresh bead with olive oil and vinager, and took our order right away. I cannot remember the names of our dishes, but I ordered a pasta with mussels, class shrimp, and crab, and my husband ordered a pasta with mushrooms, chicken, and a rich creamy sauce. The portions were large, and the flavors were wonderful. We also ordered their special salad, and it was crisp and fresh. During our meal the service was consistent, we had plenty of our entree left to take home, because the portions were so large that we could have easily shared a dish (and my husband has a good apetite, so that's saying alot). Even though we were full, we were enjoying ourselves so much that we decided to order some deserts and espresso. We had the bite size cheesecake, and the chocolate bites. They were consistent with the rest of our meal. Needless to say that this place although family friendly, is a perfect date night restaurant. We will definitely be back! Oh, I forgot to mention the only disappointing thing is that they don't have angel hair (which is my favorite), but the meal and service was fantastic! Do I'm not deducting any stars for that.

Hubby and I had a nice dinner here the week before Valentine's day. We had a short wait. We ordered mushroom ravioli, and veal Parmesan. The ravioli was so good. The only other time I had veal parm was a Swanson's tv dinner when I was a kid. This tasted just like it. I would not bother to order it ever again. The ravioli came with a take home, we got the cheese ravioli. It was really good too. For dessert we ordered the sampler platter. The only good thing was the tiramisu. I will go again and try something new next time.

For the price, it's awesome. The 2 for $39.95 is unbeatable. Not only do you get your choice of two pastas for dining, but you also get an appetizer, a dessert & two take home pastas. What a deal! Customer service was friendly but they said their oven had problems that night so we did have to wait some time for bread. But I liked how they checked up on you & at least let my table know which was good. It was actually quite amazing. My friends & I sworn that they had mics plugged up somewhere around the tables because every time we said something, they popped up to help us. Like if we said to each other that the bread was taking forever, someone came to assure us that it'd be there in a moment. It's like they read our minds every time which is a great thing! Keeping us updated & not forgetting about us is a plus. Their cheesecake was to-die-for! So smooth & delicious!!! Strawberries that are served with it were sweet & tasty as well. Pasta for dining was yummy but the take home pasta was a little dry. Exterior & interior design & vibe is inviting & beautiful. Dim lighting I loved. Could be family style & could be romantic so it's a very versatile setting. Overall great experience.

My husband and I made reservation for his birthday. The waitress was nice, but far off with our order because was distracted with her friends who were eating there. We ordered their special, on the house classic pastas. We wanted the fettuccine Alfredo and the lasagna for dinner and lasagna and rotini for take out. We told the waitress we would like to add the chicken to fettuccine Alfredo, so there was a 3.00 charge. She brought out the rotini and lasagna instead of the fettuccine and lasagna. My husband was going to tell her to switch, but it was getting late and we didn't want to complicate things. We took the frozen fettuccine and lasagna home, but to find out there were no chicken in the fettuccine! We were charged for chickens that we did not received! He was very upset. I understand mixing up one thing, but last night, the waitress messed up twice.

Love this place, love the people, love the food, just go and try it!!! The food is amazingly fresh and flavorful. I enjoy the ambiance, the fancy music makes me want to relax and have a nice glass of wine. All new restaurants have problems at times but I felt like everyone cared and I will return tomorrow night to bring my grandmother for dinner. Keep up the great work!!!

Went for my birthday dinner and had an amazing experience. From the time we arrived to the time we left all staff were very friendly. The food was excellent and tasted fresh. Prices were extremely reasonable for the quality of food you get. Will definitely be coming back

Let me start with the pros first. We made a reservation and were seated right away. There was a 40m wait for walk ins so i was happy we got our seats fast. Everyone including the Waitress was super nice. Very friendly and accommodating. We only had two in our party and they let us have the family style. I was very happy because its a tradition we have every year for the past 7! Also, our food was taking verrrry long ,and without saying anything or complaining to the server, she got her manager and he ordered us drinks on the house!! Very nice. The food was VERY good! We always get the same things.. Chopped salad, beef medallions, clam linguine.. All good!! No complaints. I tried something new from the recommendation of the manager.. Pomegranate martini.. Seriously to die for! The rosemary makes it deliciously perfect!! Weird concept.. But it is a MUST try. Ok now the cons.. Hence four stars. For all Bay Area people! They do not have the same menu as SJ. There are many things missing such as there famous creme brûlée and spumoni. If you normally go to Maggianos elsewhere make sure you look at their menu first to make sure they have what you always get. Otherwise very good.

I went to dinner here, for my birthday last night after hearing many recommendations of how great the food was. If you go to their website and sign up, they send you a $10.00 off coupon to print up and hand to the server when you order. (Which I did) I was surprised it wasn't busy as it is such a beautiful restaurant. Our waitress was pleasant. I told her how beautiful the restaurant was as this was my first time eating here. She replied with, "The food is great here." A minute later, she seated others right next to us and asked if they had been here before. When they hadn't, she explained to them all about the restaurant, happy hour specials, and the menu. I thought this was strange because she hadn't done so with us. I had the Coppola Rosa wine which was their house red and delicious. The happy hour special made it $5.00 a glass which I thought was a great deal! She brought us some bread and after we finished, she asked if we would like another basket with some Balsamic vinegar this time. I wished I could have been offered this with the first basket...oh well. We had the delicious chopped salad with avocado and after two bites this guy comes over with our lukewarm dinner plates and motions for us to move our salads over which was awkward. At least we got out salad because the people next to us never got theirs. I heard them complaining when the clueless guy with the dinner plates delivered their dinner BEFORE their salads. LOL. Anyway, I had the light Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and asparagus and it was delicious but lukewarm. My guy had the Lasagna and it was delicious as well. We had cheesecake for dessert and it was spectacular! They also gave me some delicious lemon cookies on a plate for my birthday. When the bill came, I had to remind her to deduct the coupon. I also had to remind her we were waiting for our take-home dinner as well. They have a great special where you get another complete dinner order to take home too! In summary, the food was great and the price was right. However, you have to be on your game and remind the waitress about the coupon, the balsamic with your bread, and your take-home meal. And, I would ask if you could receive your entre AFTER you finish with your salad. I do want to return and try their salmon. Enjoy!

been here twice in one week, because omg holy shit, the lighter take alfredo. my service, from chris one night and amanda on another, both at the bar, was excellent. and the food....i'm seriously in love with the hand cut fettucine noodles in the alfredo, the asparagus, the finally not bland perfectly seasoned chicken, and the fact that they give you a second plate of food to take home. who does that?! who does this when the food doesn't suck?!!

Cannot say enough. Janelle was our server and gave us 5, no 10 star service. She was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. The restaurant is actually a "scratch kitchen", meaning that they make everything in the back- down to the salad dressing. And, you could definitely tell- everything was so fresh and amazing! I can't believe the prices were so reasonable. Really an amazing experience, beautiful dining area, and A+ food and service.

First time at Maggiano's last night (4/4/15) and I cannot wait to return and tell others about it. Their service is top notch! We had a date night with a few other couples and we had the most amazing server named Chloe. She went above and beyond and she made us feel like she was our friend. She was by far the nicest and best server I have ever encountered. She was funny, attentive, prompt and so personable. We got their crazy $39.95 deal. You get to choose 1 appetizer, 2 pasta entrees, dessert and you get 2 pasta choices to go! Who does that?! They don't skimp on the portions either. We got full sized meals. They had run out of their oh- so- famous Tiramisu, which was disappointing to a few. Our server sent over her manager, Will and he was so NICE! He sent over some complimentary dessert and gave us a free voucher to return for a free dessert. This was such a positive experience and I really commend the service that Maggiano provides. This is a definite must try place!

A friend and I went here today for lunch. She suggested it, I had no idea it was there. It had been awhile since I have been to the Arden mall. It didn't feel like we were at a restaurant at the Arden Mall. It felt more like something you would find downtown. The interior of the restaurant is so nice and decorated beautifully for Christmas. We sat in a booth - very comfy with lots of leg room. The service was fantastic. Very polite staff with speedy service. I see other people commented on wait times, we did not experience that at all and we were there during the lunch rush. Our waitress, Monae, was fabulous. She was able to tell us what her favorites were on the menu, which helped because everything sounded soooo good. Monae was just all around very helpful and polite! We started out with the Spinach & Artichoke dip as I had read great reviews. It did not disappoint. It was soooo good and the crusty cheese on the top, perfecto! I order the Four-Cheese Ravioli and with it came a 2nd choice entree to take home .. I ordered the Ziti and can't wait to try it. For dessert we shared the caramelized bananas with the pound cake. It was served with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate shavings. A perfect ending to a wonderful lunch. I can't wait to go back with family and friends .. This place is fantastic!!

We had reservations for a big party at 630pm on a Friday night. They sat us down in timely matter. When it came to the drinks, didn't ask me if I wanted another beer, didn't refill my water, but kept refilling my husband's and others icetea. Took over an hour to serve the food. Kept serving other smaller tables before ours. When the food came out, one meal was too salty, one was too burnt, another was chicken should have been shrimp. Was not impress at all.

We received a coupon for Maggiano's. Went on a Monday to avoid the crowds. In fact we went early enough to catch happy hour which was a nice surprise. I ordered the Pomegranite Martini and it was delicious! I will be making these at home in the future. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was very attentive. In fact, I noticed that even on a Monday they had plenty of staff so that each table received a lot of personal attention. Our waitress knew about the menu, she made excellent suggestions. The Fuitii di Mare was extremely generous in its portion. I think there were well over a dozen mussels in it. I had the Maggiano's chopped salad, which I've had before. It was good as usual, except my personal portion had no avocado in it. My veal piccata was very good; tender and the sauce was not overly lemony. Very delicious as well. Ask for Reeti to be your waitress she's great. We were so full that we could not get dessert. Only thing I would caution people about this restaurant is that Yelp gives it two dollar signs. That's a little under stated. Everything is ala carte, so if you want a salad you pay for a salad, if you want a baked potato, you pay for a baked potato. By the time you do that you are easily over $20 even for the less expensive dishes. My veal was $28.95 with no salad, no side. The salad was another $6, if I had ordered a side it would have been another $6. The prices in the restaurant are higher on every dish, then listed on their web site. I would definately rate this restaurant 3 dollar signs. The dining experience was lovely though. Without the coupon we wouldn't have been able to enjoy this dinner, so I"m glad we had the opportunity. Thank you Maggiano's for the coupon.

Delicious food. Excellent service. For being a chain, the Italian cuisine was pretty good. Our server paid great attention to us even though it was packed. I think my fiancé and I found our new go to place for Italian cravings.

Had dinner there tonight with my family. The food was excellent! The service was not quite so excellent.... Our salads were delivered after our main course arrived. It seemed the front and back of the house were not in sinc. Our server was very kind, but I wish the meal was better coordinated. This will not stop us from returning, however. I highly recommend the "lighter" entrees. Absolutely delicious and I'm not overstuffed!

Made reservations for 4 of us on open table-glad I did as the restaurant was busy and noisy. Our waiter, Michael, greeted the 4 of us with "how are youse guys tonite"? I was immediately put off by this. He was slow to take our orders, never brought the bread until the third request, finally brought some balsamic vinegar after several requests. He was inattentive and jittery. The manager finally came by and brought our vinegar and our salads. The salads were OK--they were big but lacking in the Italian ingredients that were listed on the menu. Wine menu was ordinary and $9.00 for a glass of supermarket wine is a bit pricey. My eggplant parmigiana was very good. What we didn't realize was that every dish excepting spaghetti is served over a bed of spaghetti--If we knew this we would not have ordered spaghetti and meatballs as a main dish. That said the rest of the food including the meatballs was average. Dessert was cheesecake that we shared. It was a generous piece but right out of a freezer box for sure. The other couple ordered the apple croustade with the ice cream on the side. it came with ice cream melted over the croustade. Inattentiveness to our requests was a constant throughout the meal. And, Michael, our waiter was so not on the ball. With unemployment rampant and young people looking for work the management should have hired someone more adept and interested in his customers. I will say that sending you home with 2 more pasta dishes was a nice touch as no one had to cook tonight.

Stumbled upon this place when we hit the mall on Friday. We recalled seeing it somewhere in LA but wasn't sure if it's any good. What a nice surprise! Love the decor, service, price and love love love the food! It's hard to find a chain Italian rest that does authentic dishes. We ordered stuffed mushroom, lobster carbonara, and a something-D specialty dish (sorry forgot whole name). Better than il fornio, cheesecake and macaroni and grill. It feels and tastes like something I would expect in a nice rest in Vegas).

I came here with my husband this past Sunday. We didn't have to wait too long to get to our table and it continued to be smooth sailing on through the evening! Our server Brittany was exceptional. Even though it wasn't that busy she answered all our questions and made us truly feel welcomed. We both ordered the "take another entree home" deal and thanks to her help we enjoyed the perfect wine to compliment our meals. Their cheesecake is to die for and I can't wait to come back again.

my wife an i visited maggiano's for the first time yesterday afternoon. the service was ok, nothing special. we ordered the calarmai for an appetizer and it was excellent. the linguini and clams that my wife ordered was also very good. i ordered veal parmesan light which was a tough, ugly, gooey mess.the crust was soft and mushey and fell away from the meat. if it had melted cheese on top it was hard to tell. it was supposed to come with fresh fettuccine but the cook did not know that so it came late and had no taste, which was ok since it was a perfect compliment to the veal. i left the uneaten meal on my plate but my wife insisted that we take it home and give it to the dogs. if we didn't tell them it was supposed to be veal parmesan they might eat it. my suggestion is that they shoot the cook or take this dish off the menu. i may be willing to try maggiano's again since the calarmai was the best and the linguini and clams was also excellent, but, i'll try something simple next time like meatballs or sausage and peppers.

The food is consistently delicious! You can't beat the dinner for 2 for $39.99 that includes an appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert and 2 entrees to take home! I don't like how they nickel and dime you for "upgrading your entree" for specialty pastas like lasagna but I do it anyways. Service is INCONSISTENT. I've had stellar service before but this last visit for a Friday night dinner for 2 was awful. I dislike how close the tables are in the center. It's like a maze to walk through without bumping into a someone's chair, stroller, or a waiter. You can practically lean into your neighboring table's conversation. On this past occasion, we were placed in the center of the madness. It took at least 20 minutes for our waitress, Naomi, to greet us. She never told us her name the entire night, I only know cause it was on our receipt. She never apologized for the wait--she went from completely unfriendly, warmed up to us, then stark cold by the time it took us to get our check. Weird. Maybe she was having an off night? At one point the manager must have saw how miserable we looked, or how much bread we scarfed down(2 baskets) while we were waiting for our meals. He came and talked us about our our mussels, which was our chosen appetizer, were sourced from. Canada if any one cares. He offered no compensation or explanation for our missing entrees. Drinks went unfilled. Naomi just kept saying "our meal will be coming out shortly". Blah blah blah. She finally warmed up to us and showed some sort of decency when our entrees were finally served and we barely ate it, considering how much bread we had put away at this point. When we asked her to box up our dessert that was our final straw and she went ice cold after that. It's a shame cause we really like this place. Next time I'd request a booth and try to get anyone but Naomi.

Mmm Maggiano's, you're awesome! Came here twice and loved both visits. The first time was with my boyfriend, and of course, everyone is in love with the Marco's Meal for Two. We got Zucchini appetizer, Mom's Lasagna, Spaghetti with Meatball, and Cheesecake. Zucchini appetizer was amazing--batter doesn't taste too oily even though it's fried (very crunchy too!). Still kind of wish the zucchini slices were thicker because I'm not a big fan of fried food. Still very delicious though! Mom's Lasagna and Spaghetti with Meatballs were both good...I feel like it's kind of hard to mess up on standard pasta dishes like these. Cheesecake was AMAZING. So fluffy and light! They aren't cheap with their fresh strawberries too...yummm. For take home, I really enjoyed the lighter take Chicken and Asparagus Fettuccine...light, but you can definitely still taste the Alfredo. Check was tender and asparagus gave it a nice touch. Boyfriend got the Alfredo Fettuccini (which I would stay away from unless you like simple dishes like this) because it's literally just Alfredo sauce with fettuccine. He didn't realize that, so it was kind of plain. The take homes are already refrigerated, so they probably made the day before or earlier in the afternoon. Server was amazing, and was always on top of it! I wanted to give him a shout out...but I forgot his name. I want to say it was Kyle....but I don't know lol Food was delicious during our 2nd visit as well; service was a lot slower with a reservation for 11 people. They have a family style meal for $28 per person that includes a few appetizers, 3-4 main courses and dessert, but that was way too much food for us. Our server explained to us that it's kind of like a buffet (where food keeps coming out if you want more), but everyone in the party has to do it. I opted for Mom's Lasagna again (apparently this applies for a take home pasta too!), and it was kind of dry. I realized that it was like that last time too, but didn't think about it because I was craving lasagna so much. Boyfriend got the Rustic Chicken and Shrimp al Forno and it was so yummy! It's a baked dish; very rich, creamy, kind of like Alfredo sauce (a little overwhelming if you keep eating), but it was good. I loved the bell peppers and the overall taste of the dish. I also tried the Linguine di Mare and it was also very good! Instead of pasta with sauce, it's served in broth (linguine, clam, shrimp, mussel, etc). It's different than what I usually eat, but the broth was very flavorful and had a rich seafood flavor. Generous proportion and plenty of clams! I chose the lighter take Taylor Street Baked Ziti for my take home pasta and it was okay. Tomato sauce with pasta, cilantro, Italian sausage and cheese. The only downfall with the 2nd experience was waiting on the cake. It probably took them 20-30 minutes to take out the cake, take it back to cut, and bring it back out. That's pretty long considering it was kind of an empty Sunday night. But overall, they were very nice and food was delicious on both visits

Customer service is key to a well run establishment, whether it be a tiny shop or a large corporate chain. Maggiano's Little Italy has proved to me that even though they are a corporate store with many locations, customer service and stellar food can be had. I had never been to a Maggiano's and was intent on trying what it had to offer. Some people had likened it to an "upscale Olive Garden" but I beg to differ. From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with smiles and attention. The interior has been given a very lush feel, more upscale than what the prices indicate. I love the layout of the large dining room: Clubby booths hugging the walls and tables in the center. A family feel with a more classy atmosphere. We were shown to our booth (Love booths!) and quickly greeted with water, bread and a cheerful hello from our server, Brittany. The menu has a variety of moderately priced pasta's as well as more expensive entree's such as beef medallions and salmon. Everything is made to order, no pasta's or meat sitting around. They have family dinner style dishes and some amazing deals, such as the one we selected. From around $12.50 and up- you can choose a classic pasta dish, and then they GIVE ONE TO YOU TO TAKE HOME. The portions are a good size. Not only do you get your meal, with leftovers, but a 2nd one! My SO was in such disbelief that he asked Brittany 2x if this was correct. Yes it is! Two for the price of one? His eyes popped out! The SO ordered the lightened Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo with asparagus, fresh cut handmade noodles with a creamy delicate sauce. I ordered the lightened Chicken Sausage penne, only I had them replace the pasta with grilled asparagus. Yes, that's right, I went to an Italian restaurant and replaced the pasta. LOL Here is the beauty of this- our server Brittany was so incredibly cool about my off the menu ordering, she even consulted with the chef,( who was also very accommodating offering to use spinach or another veg if desired) to make sure the meal would be big enough sans pasta. This kind of accommodation is hard to find, and at a chain restaurant almost impossible! WOW. The meal, DELISH! Thick chicken sausage in a hearty marinara sauce with scoops of herbed ricotta over grilled veggies. No starch, low carb and amazingly tasty. KUDOS Brittany and the chefs! When we were finished inhaling our dinners, out came 2 large bags filled with leftovers AND our second, take home entrée of our choice (from the same classic pasta menu, but you can switch it up). Water, bread, balsamic vinegar, drinks were replenished quickly and without asking. The dessert menu is mouth watering, offering smaller bites on items such as cheesecake, toasted pound cake and apple crostada's. They have a 6 piece "tasting" desert plate, and from what I can see, these are all of good size. I don't usually do a shout out, but here it is: Brittany our server, you are AWESOME! Cheerful, quick, accommodating and obviously enjoying your job. You rock! Chefs- thank you for accommodating my request and even suggesting other ideas. Creative and kind, this is the highest level of service! When we left, other servers as well as the manager and hostess said goodbye. What a nice way to end an evening! We plan on going back to try the HH, as the bar has some amazing drink concoctions and well priced apps. Also, I need to sit in Brittany's section again and get the salmon over spinach! Five stars- combination of STELLAR customer service and food.

I arrived around 4pm on a Monday so we were seated immediately, given the option of bar area or main dining area. We opted for main dining area but when walking by the bar I notice a few comfortable booths! I have never been to a Maggiano's before but was excited especially after reading about the Marco's special for two. Boyfriend and I split a calamari frito which was perfectly fried and seasoned. The calamari was rings and tentacles just like I like and was extremely tender. I had the light alfredo and thought the sauce was a bit watery but really liked it otherwise, the chicken was lightly grilled and the asparagus still slightly crisp. Boyfriend ordered the lasagna at a 2.00 upgrade but so happy he did, the portion was huge and boy was the lasagna delicious! Probably the best we have tried so far locally. We were so full we couldn't finish so had tiramisu to go, which so was delicious as other fellow yelpers have said perfect balance of espresso and chocolate. The 2nd pasta portions are just the icing on this most delicious cake! We had eggplant and spaghetti and meatball and both were flavorful as I think most pasta is the next day! Can't wait to go back and try everything else!

I really like the classic pasta dinner for 2 for $40 with the take home extra meals. Went with my son and he had the ziti, I had spaghetti & meatballs. We upgraded $2 per entrée for the take home dinners (full portion) of lasagna. The dinner for 2 comes with a shared appetizer (we got stuffed mushrooms) and a shared dessert (tiramisu). They were awesome enough to give me the 2 lasagna dinners to go hot (they usually are cold for the next day). I brought them to friends staying at the hospital with their kid. They were grateful and said the lasagna was delicious. I am a little peeved at the wine pricing though. Coppola red big glass (9oz) is $14 and small glass (5oz) is $9. There were no Barbera selections on the wine menu. We were full. Ordered an extra dessert (cheesecake) to go and brought that to the hospital as well. They were packed so we had to sit at the bar tables. Service was efficient.

Had really great service and great food here. The only problem with my visit was that it took a half hour for our food to get to our table. Mom ordered the pesto gnocchi which was awesome, and I ordered Mom's Lasagna and really enjoyed the ricotta cheese in the middle. Would have given a better review if our food hadn't taken so long-even the waitress didn't know what was up.

I was so excited to go here. I had been once in Austin with my sister a few years ago and remembered it fondly. It wasn't as good as I remembered it tonight. Waitress asked if we wanted bread with some oil. Sure sounds good. After she dropped it off we looked around our table for balsamic and couldn't find any. Maybe they didn't have that there. But later in the meal I heard the waiter at the table behind us ask if they wanted balsamic with their oil for bread. We should have asked for it for ours. We started with the calamari. They were soggy and bland. We wanted some more lemon to add some flavor but our waitress didn't come back for quite some time. Then our dinners arrived. My boyfriend had the gnocchi with Italian sausage which was great! Super yummy! I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo. The options, listed under the same price, was for fettuccini Alfredo with regular sauce... Or with light sauce with chicken and asparagus. I asked if I could have the chicken and asparagus with the normal full fat sauce. I was told that was no problem. When my bill came I was charged $5 for that. I get if I added unrelated additional side items to my dish but the way this dish was presented both options were the same price and under the same description. Kinda misleading. All in all the gnocchi was great but not enticing enough for me to get excited to come back.

Had an amazing experience. My family and I went here for dinner last night. Kaitlyn was our server and she was awesome. She knew the menu well and had good suggestions. We didn't have to ask for anything twice and her service was awesome. The food was fast and quality. They even had Bleu cheese stuffed olives for our dirty martinis. The atmosphere was comforting too. We will definitely be back!

Really good food and a lot of it. I have been there twice and both times had some leftovers plus a meal to take home. service was great both times, even the manager came over to greet us and see how thing where. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I found a piece of plastic in my lasagna, they gave me a meal free and remedied the situation. Accidents happen it how you deal with it that matters they did a great job putting the customer first!

We visited this location a little after 130 pm last Saturday. It was not packed and we were seated immediately. Food: Appetizers: The spinach and artichoke dip with garlic crostini is delicious. My husband could not help but order some mozzarella with marinara and it tasted okay. I ordered the Fruti De Mare (It was good but could use a bit more flavor) while my husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan. My 7 year old went for the spaghetti with meat sauce and a massive meatball. Needless to say, my husband and I were much too stuffed for dessert however, my son enjoyed 3 lemon cookies that came with his meal. The wait staff was kind, attentive and personable. We will be coming back to hear a bit of Frank and nosh on new items.

The two hostesses tonite act as if they own the chain. The restaurant was hardly busy at 8pm when we entered. There were open tables and open booths. We requested a table and she was going to seat us at a booth, we even passed two tables on the way to the booth..Once we were seated, we rarely saw our server. She seemed timid. I thought maybe she was busy, but after watching her wipe down the empty table next to us 5 times, I gave up wondering. Our salads were brought out with our main courses. We felt rushed. My iced tea glass sat empty during a great amount of time..My sister loved her Maggiano's side salad and Eggplant Parmesan with Spaghetti Pomodoro. I did not like my Chef Special Gnocchi. The Kalmata Olives topping the Gnocchi had an overwhelming malodorous smell.. I could not eat it..Finally, the cheesecake presentation was as good as it tasted...Bellisimo.I usually write positive reviews, but I sadly cannot give this establishment a great review..

We went with a party of twelve and did the family style meal. It came with three appetizers, four entrees, two desserts and plenty of guilt. We ate a lot of food. For the appetizer round we had stuffed mushrooms, Caesar salad and caprese. I'm not a mushroom guy, but these were not bad so that's saying something. The Caesar was fine, pretty standard. The caprese was nice and fresh and was a good palate cleanser between appetizers. Our main courses were chicken parm, chicken and spinach manicotti, baked ziti and chicken marsala. I'd say that the chicken parm was excellent, the manicotti and ziti were very good and the marsala was OK. For desert we did the spumoni and tiramisu. The spumoni was refreshing after so much heavy food. The tiramisu was maybe the best I've had, so there's that. All of the dishes we had were made well and featured quality ingredients. The service was spot on, keeping our large group awash in carbs. Very well done.

Had a great carbonara here even though it is a chain restaurant. I did love the fresh seafood and the drinks were on point. They had a lunch special that was big in portion size and filled us completely. I liked that the waitress knew the menu and did not turn her nose up when I ordered a shot at 12pm in the afternoon. She was quick on the uptake and said "It is 5pm somewhere." The atmosphere was wonderful and the dining area is so pretty. I like going here for lunch because the prices are awesome and I can drink too. Seems like the dinner menu would be something to try. Until next time Yelpers! Oh and dessert was bomb!

This place rocks. What's not to love? Atmosphere, service, food, portions, prices. It's all good! REALLY REALLY GOOD! I've tried the Denver and Scottsdale locations and wouldn't change anything about Maggiano's! So, our early dinner this evening included: Large Spinach Salad - FABULOUS. HUGE. Chicken Picatta (Low-Fat version) - Amazing flavors. Perfect. Loved the homemade fettuccini House Special Gnocci - Chicken, kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, pesto. ENORMOUS. Chocolate Zucarretto (sp?) Cake - TO. DIE. FOR I think I'll skip grocery shopping this week and just order a variety of takeout from Maggiano's :-)

Wow, talk about dating a pretty lady and then you see her again without any make-up, EKKK! That's the feeling I received when I tried to eat here. We just finished spending close to a thousand dollars on clothes and we were hungry. We decided to eat at the mall because we had a commitment in the evening. It was 5:25 when we arrived and was quickly seated. We read the nice card we received from the chef and manager thanking us for dropping in, took some pictures, checked into Yelp, and looked over the menu. 10 minutes passed by and my date looks at me wondering if we'll ever see our server. A couple sits behind us and quickly receives the attention of a server. That's when we decide to stand up and leave the restaurant. But before we left, I wanted to make sure the 2 Hostesses knew how we were treated. I described to her what happened and she said she was sorry and then moved on to another patron walking up the hostess podium. Really? Wow. You have a warm inviting restaurant and even give me a card welcoming me yet you insult me? Apparently the reviews were right, the service is like a box of stale chocolates, you never know what you're going to get!

Sooooo, I typically don't give 1 star reviews, however, I don't usually leave a place either without ordering. So I am in a bit of a hurry, yet am willing to sit down in this place, it doesn't seem to be that busy since it is before 6 pm on a Sunday. My fiancé and I step in and are asked if we would like to sit at a table or a booth, we pick a booth. Our host was nice and said our server will be with us shortly, as expected right? So we sit and chat for a little while. I get enough time to check in (yelp) and peruse the menu. We chat for a little while as well. I would say we were sitting for about 10 minutes. This wasn't what the problem was though. The problem was when a couple sat down behind us and sat for about 30 seconds and then the waitress walked to them immediately and began taking their order. My fiancé and I looked at each other, stood up, and walked out. Normally I would not care and would not review about this, but the issue was that when my fiancé informed 2 hostesses they looked at him like he was crazy and just said, "oh, I'm sorry." And then proceeded to help the next person. There was no concern, remorse, or anything to convey that they gave a crap. That is why this review will stand. I'm not sure why we were met with such disregard, perhaps it was our casual attire, maybe our ethnicity, or maybe it was my choice of hair color! I don't know, but an apology should be sincere for one, and getting a manager involved would have been the right thing to do! Basically this was unexpected and unappreciated treatment. Sorry, I didn't get to try the food!

The ambiance is outstanding. The food is flavorful but could use a bit more watching in the kitchen. My chicken Marsala was over cooked, tough and dry. Our waitress although very friendly was not attentive and didn't ask all our party if they wanted dessert. Took two orders and left. They weren't very busy while we were there. Disappointed.

From the outside, Maggiano's looks like a small space; it turns out it's more like Big Italy. A colleague and I were coming home from a meeting out of town and hungry from the Two plus hour drive. We arrived at Maggiano's around 8 o'clock on a Thursday evening. We walked through the rotating door and greeted immediately. We were taken to a comfortable booth that seats four (possibly even six). We were greeted by an awesome server named Brit. She had so much personality, it made the experience even more exceptional on top of the delicious food. We were started off with a basket of bread with a side of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. For a starter, we ordered the CRISPY ZUCCHINI FRITTE $10.95 served with Lemon Aioli (CAUTION!!! It's very HOT) You receive six large pieces that practically could replace your meal. For my main course, one of the dishes stood out to me which was also highly recommended. SALMON OSCAR $27.50 Jumbo Lump Crab, Asparagus, Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Garlic Cream Sauce with Spinach An amazing dish!!! It was rich with sauce and had so much flavor. I couldn't finish it because of the previous starters but happy I didn't, because I was able to take it to work the next day. Our amazing server Brit so kindly boxed and even labeled our doggy bags. Brit definitely took the extra step to make sure we had the best experience possible. With the large portion of food they serve, I suggest you visit with family or a group of friends where you can share dishes. I'm sure all the servers are great, but I would request Brit if she's working. She was full of laughs and had great energy.

LONG LONG LONG WAIT!!! SERVICE: We got in around 9:10, but my uncle already was here and waited first to get us a table. Got seated 5 minutes after arrival. Waited maybe 10-15 mins just to ask for water/drinks where we got to meet our waitress. Our waitress is very nice but the service is bad because we waited forever. We've been here for over an hour before we got our main course. It's closing so being busy? Umm idk maybe she was tired? But very nice personality and super friendly, but the wait for everything just killed the experience. The star rankings above is not on the waitress but just the overall experience. FOOD: Brought us old stale bread. I'm pretty sure the birds won't even eat it because it will break their beaks. (Read my tip to watch the video) my soup was salty but not bad. My family really enjoyed their diners. The bruschetta was a little too hard, but not bad at all. The calamari I give that a 5 star since I thought it was perfect. All the other dishes I tried a couple bites and it's not bad. On the saltier side. AMBIANCE/DECOR/LAYOUT: very nice and the table decor is Italian looking with the red plaid/checkered clothe with the white cloth runner. Lights are dimmed so has a darker/more privacy feel in an absolute open seating. They have booths along the sides of the wall and tables all in the middle and nothing dividing the seating areas besides if it's the pathway. There is a full bar and some high top tables n chairs and a couple booths. It's decor has an older look to it but still nice and sleek. It's pretty nice to me. Bathroom was mediocre in cleanliness but cute two bathroom stalls and the petite sinks. Since it's wide open the noise level is super high and lots of birthday celebrations. Price and experience: for the price if you order a certain type of mean you get to bring one home as well. Price is average when you go to any restaurant not fancy fancy but just like Olive Garden or Applebee's pricing. My experience sucked. It wasn't anything to brag about and is prob on my last wish stop but ehh maybe if my BF wants to try it out

I came to Maggiano's for dinner one night after work to celebrate the end of another successful month. We arrived around 4:30pm and the restaurant was pretty empty when we first got there, but filled up about halfway towards the meal. We had a party of 6, but had made a reservation so were seated quickly. I started my meal with a Elderflower Collins which was pretty good. I had just gone big the night before, so unfortunately it was a one cocktail night for me. We started with a crap ton of appetizers like their Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Mozzarella Marinara, Mussels and Stuffed Mushrooms. The appetizers are HUGE and we had about half leftover. I was able to try the Stuffed Mushrooms which were really good and flavorful, and the Spinach and Artichoke Dip which was good, but could have been thicker for it was a little runny. Even though I was already full after the appetizers, I ordered their Four Cheese Ravioli for my entree. This came with so many ravioli that I could only eat half. Unfortunately it was also a "But One, Take One Home" entree, so I left with a doggy bag the size of Texas. This would normally be ok, but just made me feel bad for having SO much food. And honestly, the raviolis were only OK. For anyone who knows my reviews knows I'm a stickler for pasta made in house and this wasn't it. I actually didn't even eat my leftovers and ended up throwing them away. This is just a personal preference, but I would rather have less food with more quality than be sent home feeling like I'm taking half the restaurant with me. This is America though. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals and we all ended up with plenty for the next day. We finished the night by ordering two slices of Tiramisu to share which actually turned out to be really good and each slice was perfect for 2 people. Service was great, our server was very attentive and checked on us frequently throughout the meal. The restaurant was clean, and food was typical large Italian chain fare. I would come back if someone wanted to go, but wouldn't find myself here of my own volition.

This place is awesome. If you join their rewards you get a $10 off coupon. The food and service and ambiance is great for a birthday dinner. We had a party of 7 for my birthday dinner and made reservations that day. We were seated right away and Naomi went through the menu with us and was very friendly. The complimentary bread is good while waiting and their 2 eat for $40 is a great deal. You get one appetizer, an entre each and a dessert to share and another plate to go each. Its a huge amount of lovely food. We all enjoyed the lasagna, four cheese ravioli, calamari and flat bread pizza. Also, the cheesecake, pound cake, apple crostada and cookies were really rich and great. They decorated my cheesecake slice for my birthday and made it all pretty. Definitely will be back!

Can you say YUMMY?!?!?! Whenever we come out to the Arden Fair Mall area we always pick a restaurant to try and this one came to mind. Let's clarify that we were not starving so we did not order the GIANT meal section of the menu! THAT selection IS worth the $$$ you spend! It was hot out and we were still shopping so leftovers is really not our best option. We started our meal out with the crispy zucchini for the appetizer! Wowza!! That was DELICIOUS!!! I actually couldn't come back for just that and a cocktail!!! They also bring you out bread. There's a nice olive oil at the table. We added black pepper and we devoured it! They also had balsamic vinegar if you ask they will bring it out!! Yummy! We ordered the chicken dish! It came with a choice of pasta or any veggie sides. I opted for asparagus! Grilled to perfection!!! The chicken had this lemon garlic BUTTER sauce! Ooooooh! Sooooo bad for the calorie counter yet ooooooh sooooooo good for the tummy!!! The capers were really good, too. Under the chicken was spinach which was very good, too. I am sorry folks! I was sooooo full so no dessert this time!! Saw some delicious stuff come out so next trip!! Our waitress was AWESOME!! She was very sweet and never skipped a beat!! Beautiful place and awesome food. What more can I ask for?!?!? We will be back!!!

This was my first ever experience at Maggianos. I love it here and I'll be coming back. Mike and I had a gift card for Maggianos and decided to go one Saturday around 8pm. We were expecting a 20 minute wait based on the amount of people in the lobby when we arrived but they sat us for our table for 2 right away. I love that they have make a wish foundation specialties you can order. I ordered their peach pomegranate lemonade. It is awesome to try something delicious while they make a donation in your honor. Drink order and meal order was taken promptly as our service was spectacular. The appetizer arrived in a decent amount of time and shortly after awhile our main course arrived and we devoured it because it was so good. We didn't think we could eat our dessert but we did! The tiramisu at Maggianos is one of the best in Sacramento. Our server told us to come back and try the other dishes even though the 2 for $39 wasn't bad at all since we also got to take home more pasta. I am looking forward to coming back to try seafood pastas. Thank you Maggianos for a wonderful experience and a great night out to eat!

The first time we experienced Maggiano's Little Italy was in Cincinnati, Ohio ~ we've been a fan ever since. We recently moved to Sacramento and, to our delight, there is a Maggiano's restaurant very close to us! I was so hungry for their half moon lemon cookies ~ melt in your mouth lemon cookies. So, at the end of our meal, I ordered a tin (like we usually have at other Maggiano restaurants) of these delightful cookies. When our waitress returned with a foil pan telling me those were our cookies, I was very taken back. Where is the beautiful lemon cookie tin? She had no idea what I was talking about. WELL, I wish I would have opened the foil pan BEFORE leaving the restaurant because I would have said, "No thank you!". These are not the same moon shape lemon cookies that my taste buds were craving. They were small little rectangular cookies. Say what?!! Maggiano's, what have you done??!! SO disappointed. Now that I have my lemon cookie disappointment out of the way...we'll move on to our meal. The hubster and I decided to have Marco's Meal For Two. For an appetizer, we ordered the Crispy Zucchini Fritté with lemon aiolo sauce. These delicious strips of zucchini are breaded in panko crumbs that give them a wonderful "crunch" when you bite into them. We would definitely order these little gems again. I ordered the Four Cheese Ravioli with Pesto Alfredo Sauce for my dinner. Not being sure of the pesto alfredo sauce, I asked for a sample. We had a great waitress and she brought me the sample pretty quickly. I was pleasantly surprised! As for the ravioli, I wasn't impressed. The hubster ordered the Lighter Take Baked Ziti. Along with the dinner for two, we had a choice to take two pasta dishes home so I chose the Lighter Take Fettuccine Alfredo and he chose Mushroom Ravioli al Forno. We had the later dishes today. The hubsters remark: "I enjoyed the baked ziti more than this dish." I was done after just a few bites of the fettuccine because the pasta was way overdone and the sauce, albeit a lighter sauce, was tasteless. Sigh. We canned the remaining into file 13. For dessert we chose the Warm Apple Crostada with vanilla bean ice cream and carmel sauce. The first few bites were not bad, but when we dug deeper into this apple dessert we quickly discovered it wasn't completely baked. In fact, it was very doughy. We requested another fully baked Apple Crostada to go. After baking it in a 400º oven (here at home) for 20 minutes we were delighted to finish every bite. To quench my thirst, I decided to give their special Lemonade, cucumber, lemon and club soda drink a try. The first several sips are not to bad ~ but when the ice melts all the pizzaz of this drink goes right down the drain. There are free refills IF you can get your waitress to stop by your table. Needless to say, I had my second drink brought to the table with a to-go cup (not by request, but because it took that long to get it and we already paid the bill!). Maggiano's you let us down. Not only in the Lemon Cookie department, but your pasta was way over cooked and your sauces tasteless.

Called in an order to go and was told 15-20 minutes. Immediately received a call back that they were out of lasagna at 1:15 in the afternoon. Changed my order. Arrived after 20 minutes and was told it will be 20 more minutes. It was 25 more minutes. 45 minutes of waiting. Not once did someone apologize, offer a glass. Of water while we waited and didn't even provide a little extra bread or something for the wait. So matter how good the food is, we won't go back. Paid $45,looks like $20-25 with of food. Pasta over cooked .

Thanks to Chuck, a fellow yelper, I had the best meal here at Maggiano's. I had heard of this restaurant especially when we traveled down to San Jose's Santana Row but did not try out the restaurant at that time. I had even listened to my daughter mentioning there is this restaurant opening up at Arden Fair Mall at the former location of Forever 21 although Maggiano's front doors open out by the mall's front parking lot. I still waited until after I read Chuck's review that it was gnawing at me to go today, GO TODAY! Okay after running a few errands today we stopped for lunch first thing this morning when they open up at 1130. I did make reservations via Open Table. When we first walked in, the pleasant hostess smiled and said welcome to Maggiano's! My HB mentioned we had reservations and she instantly took us to our table. I had heard they had been at this location for six months now. My HB already knew what he wanted to eat but I was wavering a bit of course for those who know me; it's hard for me to make up my mind! We had planned to order Marco's Meal for two that was priced at 39.95. We chose the Chicken & Peppers appetizer, Lite Chicken asparagus Fettuccini, Taylor Street Baked Ziti and mini dessert sampler that was an extra 5.00. I got pretty full by the time I was eating my main dish that practically everything was boxed up to go. Our waitress was really on point although she got really busy so I can see that restaurant get really cray as the deal we had was order our main entrees and take one entree each home! We ended up with two large bags to take home with us but that worked out as we had dinner covered for sure. I also got a 10 dollars off if you sign up with their restaurant. It really is worth the deal. Don't wait. You snooze, you will lose! I forgot to mention the decor and ambience of the restaurant is upscale although we did come in jeans but I wouldn't do that for dinner. Their background music was Frank Sinatra; reminded me of the good old days:))) It's so nice they are located at Arden Fair Mall where you don't have to worry about paying for parking and their bathrooms are well, you tell me when you get there! You will be very pleased! You can be darn sure we're coming back!!! Btw I loved their tiramisu & we noticed there was a sign on the table mentioning that they cater!!! Might come in handy for celebration parties down the line!

My friend in college raved about Maggiano's. That was 5+ years ago. I finally got to try it for myself. The three of us came here for lunch on a Sunday. No worries about a wait. Not packed here. I feel like this is more of a dinner place. On Sunday, they serve dinner all day so the portions are huge so make sure you know what you are getting into. They also have a menu where you order an entree for dine in and they give you an entree to go! OMG! Overall, our meal was delicious and our server (Patrick?) was very amazing. He was very personable. He gave really good advice for what to order. He also got me a side of garlic bread. It is not typically a side you can order. I love garlic bread! Overall, this place is a fancier version of Olive Garden. It is a bit pricer so probably can't come here all the time. The service and the ambiance is much better. I wouldn't mind coming back especially with a big group. Maybe do some family style.

Maggiano's knocked it out of the ballpark! - Seated within minutes of my 7 pm booth reservation on a VERY busy Saturday night - Top notch service provided from my server, Roxy, who was knowledgeable, friendly, offered great suggestions and was spot-on with the timing and delivery of every course! - My beverage never ran dry...Roxy always provided a refill before I could even ask! - The food quality was excellent and helpings were more than generous. I had to divide my main course (a terrific "lighter take" baked zitti) because I wanted to have room for dessert. - Dessert was a sinfully good apple crostada with ice cream and caramel sauce. - To top it off, I was sent home with another full serving (really enough for two) of a pasta of my choice. My only regret...not having come here sooner!

For being a nice restaurant. I have had horrible experiences. I pay a lot of money to eat there and can't even enjoy it because my food comes to me cold, twice now. Drinks are good though! Probably won't be back though to be honest. Two bad experiences are enough for me to say no.

I came here on a Friday night with family and friends. It wasn't too crowded and we didn't even have to wait for a table. I like the general ambiance of the restaurant--dim lighting, cute white and red checkered tablecloths, and a good level of noise. Between three people, we split the meal for two ( one appetizer, two pastas, one dessert, and two more pastas to take home) and it was more than enough. The food itself was average; nothing particular stood out about the flavors or anything. Service was good, considering we brought a rambunctious five year old. I would recommend this place if you're tired from a day of shopping or a nice family dinner, but don't expect authentic Italian food.

I love this Maggianos because it caters to my every need. For example, I am allergic to egg and the manager, Will, is so understanding and will get the meal done right to perfection. My son is allergic to wheat and gluten and he loves the gluten free penne. All the sauces are gluten free. The staff is super nice and the food is even better. Overall really good place. The main highlight is the manager Will. He is always getting things done fast and efficiently. Our food is mostly never messed up. I have to say mostly because I can't say always. :) but this location is the best I have been to.

Came here with a party of 18 for my cousins' birthday. We did the family style where each person paid about $31 and it came with 3 appetizers or salads, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts. And the best part about it? Everything we ordered was unlimited which I thought was really awesome. Bottomless salad, appetizers, entrees, & dessert until you're full !! For appetizers we chose the stuffed mushrooms and calamari frittes. The texture of the calamari was nice and soft. The mushrooms on the other hand, was just ok. It needed more flavor. Chicken and shrimp pasta Wasn't a big fan of this dish even though I love pasta with the white cream sauce. The sauce on here was just too watery. Chicken marsala Came with mushrooms and this was pretty good. The chicken was not dry at all and it was really moist. It was good. Baked ziti This dish was really good and flavorful. One of my favorites. I really loved the Italian sausages that it came with. Lasagna I really enjoyed this dish as well. It was really good and I loved the flavor. Tiramisu This is the best tiramisu I had. It was delicious and moist and it didn't have a strong coffee taste to it. Must try! I really enjoyed the pastas here and I would definitely come back here again. One thing is that I really wish it was brighter inside! It is very dim.

Ever since that first time in San Jose in Santana Row, I've had cravings to go back. Now it's much closer in Sacramento! First of all, come hungry. We ordered the $40 dinner for two (could probably feed 5 or 6 people) and started off with the zucchini sticks. I love the lemon aioli stuff that comes with them. They are pretty long slices of zucchini, battered and fried up. Batter anything and deep fry it- hard to miss. Then came our pastas. I opted for the $2 upgrade to lasagna and finished about half of it when I figured out that I was getting really full. So half of it came home with me. Along with the pastas that we couldn't finish, two more pastas came out in a bag for us to take home. In addition, the dessert (tiramisu) that I couldn't fit in to my stomach was also packaged up in one of the bags. The peach iced tea did run dry a few times. Other than that, a great dinner and dinners to come! It's a little bit pricier than my everyday dinner so... Here's a tip: sign up online for a "club" (at the top right of this page: maggianos.com ) and get a $10 off coupon.

Came here for dinner with my friends and we made a reservation ahead of time on OpenTable. We arrived about 5 mintutes late thinking maybe they gave up our table to other people. Thankfully they did not and we got seated right away. Our server was really nice she was very patient on taking our orders since we were waiting for the other people to show up. The food came out really quickly I am surprised because they were pretty busy. I got the alfredo gilled chicken asparagus which is delicious and another one to take home with me for free which is a great deal! Overall the place is fantastic and service is fast and everyone is very friendly. The only reason for one minus star is that our waitress brought over our bread and she said she will bring over our bread dip but did not until about 10 minutes later. Our bread was sitting there getting cold. It wasn't a big problem because she was awesome plus the great customer service and how quickly the food came out made up for everything!

Maggiano's Little Italy's first location is in Chicago, Illinois. My friend and I came in on a Friday. It was quite crowded, so make sure you make a reservation. I liked the interior. It was classy but suitable for families. Marco's Meal For Two $39.95: Choose any appetizer or flatbread or two side salads/ Choose two classic pastas/ Choose one dessert/ Plus two classic pastas to take home Calamari Fritté- You can never go wrong with calamari. The calamari was light and crispy with the right amount of chew. Taylor Street Baked Ziti- It was simple but good. I really liked the Italian sausage. Baked Eggplant Parmesan- I took this pasta home. It was ok. Maybe it's because I placed it in the microwave rather than the oven. Nonna's Toasted Pound Cake- The pound cake had crispy edges. Rather than the pound cake itself, I really liked the caramelized bananas and vanilla bean ice cream that came with it. It was a great deal, so much food! The portions are HUGE. I was eating my pasta for days! Tip: Join their E-Club and get $10 off!

Just had my first visit here on Friday and WOW was everything fantastic! The food was awesome. I did not try anything I didn't like. They have a great Marco's Meal for 2, where you and a partner pick 2 entrees for there, an appetizer/flatbread (or two salads), and a dessert, and then 2 entrees for home, all for $40! Great deal! My boyfriend and I did this and I picked the Chicken and Roasted Pepper Flatbread, Lighter Take Fettuccine Alfredo, and Double Chocolate Brownie for dessert. We also had two more people in our party who did the same and ordered the Crispy Zucchini Fritte and Cheesecake for dessert. Then we also ordered an Italian Tossed Salad for the table. All of appetizers tasted great. The Zucchini was fried in wide and thin slices and had the perfect crisp. It came with a lemon aioli that was really good. The lemon was a very subtle flavor. The salad was super fresh and their dressings were all good. The Flatbread was crispy and the asiago cream sauce was a great flavor with the chicken and red peppers. I do think they could throw some more peppers on there, but overall it was pretty good. By now we're almost full and then our entrees arrived! I did have a couple issues with mine. First, I would have liked if they did broccoli in it instead of asparagus, though I did not ask if they could substitute this so that is a possibility. Also, the cream sauce was pretty soupy, but I was not too surprised since this was a "Lighter Take" dish. Looking over at my friend's dish which was the regular fettuccine, it did look thick and creamy. The sauce did taste great though and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. The hand-cut fettuccine was tender and tasted very homemade. The Double Chocolate brownie is actually little bite size squares of brownie. They were very chocolaty and had what I thought was the perfect brownie consistency with slightly crispy edges all around. It came with vanilla ice cream and strawberries with a balsamic glaze. Everything eaten together had great flavors and balanced out really nicely. I tried a bite of Cheesecake and a bit of the Warm Apple Crostada and both were fantastic. Do expect your meal to take a while. We were there for about 2 hours and they certainly don't rush. I was very impressed by the food and will be returning!

I think my found my new favorite Italian restaurant! After a day of shopping at Arden Fair Mall, we got hungry and went to Cheesecake factory. After seeing how packed that place was (over an hour wait!) we yelped for something nearby. We decided to give this restaurant a try after reading a good amount of reviews and seeing pictures of their delicious food. It definitely lives up to it's ratings! They have a cool revolving door that you could enter with. Stepping into the restaurant was like walking into another realm because it went from a sunny and loud outdoor environment to a very relaxing setting with dim lights. This place is perfect for a romantic dinner! We came on a busy Saturday and ended up waiting for an hour. Good thing is, they take your phone number and will call or even text you when your table is ready. So we went back to do extra shopping for another hour without fear of losing our spot on the wait list. Despite being extremely busy (it was prom weekend), our waitress was extremely nice and very attentive. She was constantly checking up on us during our meal and making sure everything was okay. Kudos to Kirsten for giving us the best experience possible! My girlfriend and I went with "Marco's meal for two" which consist of: Any appetizer, flatbread, or two salads Two classic pastas on the list One dessert Plus two classic pastas to take home ALL OF THIS FOR $39.95! And what's even better is that they are VERY generous with their portions. Everything is big, even their desserts! We chose the grilled chicken flat bread which was freakin delicious! For the main entree, I had Mom's Lasagna and she had Taylor Street Baked Ziti. Careful! The dish comes out hot and fresh from the oven. My dummy self accidentally grazed the plate with my elbow and it ended up leaving a burn mark. I fought hard to finish the lasagna because it was a lot! My girlfriend had to pack hers to go. Both were on point! For dessert, a Chocolate Zuccotto Cake. We did not expect the slice of cake to be that big. We couldn't even finish the cake and had to pack that too! For our take home, she had a fettucine alfredo and I had the baked ziti because I really liked my girlfriend's dish. Most definitely good eats! I really enjoyed this place and will come back on a less crowded day!

Looking forward to our first visit, especially because of the positive ratings. What a disappointment. I don't think we ate at the same place! First off, before we even ordered, a server tried to deliver a salad to us. OK - he was a bit confused. After the bread and olive oil/balsamic was delivered, two ordered a starter of the tomato soup and another a salad. The soup was inedible due to the saltiness. The salad was overloaded with blue cheese (this from someone who loves the stuff!) Entrees included shrimp scampi, veal picatta, chicken picatta, baked ziti and margherita flatbread. Let's begin with the picatta dishes. The lemon butter caper sauce was very nondescript. We agreed that if we tasted with our eyes shut, we wouldn't know what we were eating. The veal was too thick and certainly should've been more tender. The chicken was more on the dry side than moist. The flatbread was just o.k. but it's hard to mess flatbread up. Baked ziti was good, nothing special. Likewise, the scampi was just o.k. The shrimp were cooked correctly, but the sauce lacked flavor. Partway through the meal, yet another server attempted to deliver another salad that did not belong at our table. Don't they train these people?? Throughout dinner, the soup and salad bowls from our starters remained on the table and were not cleared away. For the prices this restaurant charges, we expected 1) much better food, and 2) much better (and competent) service. On the positive side, this place is child-friendly and the atmosphere is what one expects in an Italian eatery minus the smell of garlic. Our mediocre experience at this restaurant just underscored why we generally aren't big fans of chain restaurants. This is definitely one restaurant we won't return to nor recommend.

Wow! On the 1st of January, hubby and I were at the mall shopping for new clothes when we got hungry. It was only 11:30 am and we were debating between Seasons 52 or here. We decided to try Maggiano's because we have not dined there before and it was a fantastic experience!! Jessica was extremely sweet. She gave us a run down of the menu and they were having a special where if we ordered off the "classic" part of the menu, we would get a second entree to take home, complimentary of the chef! WTF?! Lol There was another special. They have the 2 for $40 deal. You get an appetizer, 4 entrees (2 to dine in and 2 to take home) and 1 dessert. WHAT A GREAT DEAL!! I ordered the ravioli and decided to take the 2nd entree (4 cheese ravioli) to take home. My husband ordered two different type of pastas. We had the zucchini fritters as appetizer. It was DELICIOUS and the portions were huge! They were not skimping out just because of the special. We both enjoyed our food thoroughly and did not leave room for dessert. Jessica wrapped our cheesecake to go for us. Our bill was only ~$45 after tax!! For all this great food!!!! I couldn't believe it. We had our second entrees and dessert for dinner last night and it tasted great! Special thanks to Jessica. We were her first customers for 2015 and she was our first "dining experience" of 2015; she made it marvelous for us. It was one of the best customer service experience we have had. Since our bill was ~$45, we gave her a 45% tip. AGAIN, 1 appetizer, FOUR friggin great tasting entrees and 1 dessert for $45?! I still can't believe it.

This was our first time here and from the beginning it seemed like it was a "normal" Italian restaurant. However, that was where the similarities ended. Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server Michael and was given the run down on the restaurant. He gave us some time to look over the menu. We selected the best deal on the menu - the 2 for $40 meal. Which, by the sounds of it was a normal run-of-the-mill 2 for whatever $ amount meal that's out there, but that's not what this deal is about. Not only does the meal come with an appetizer, entrée, and dessert; but it comes with 2 additional entrees! Yes, you get two additional entrees to take home with you. That was the kicker for there meal deal. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great Italian restaurant!

Came in on a Monday night and made reservations through OpenTable just in case. My friend and I got seated right away upon arrival. From start to finish, our dining experience was spectacular! Our server, Dana, was extremely personable, which definitely added to our experience. We were treated to bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as a dip. Dana informed us that she would keep refilling our bread until we told her to stop. Loved that! We were introduced to their classic pasta menu and that totally won us over even before we took a bite. Buy one to eat there and you can take one home (you can mix and match!) for as low as $12.95. SAY WHAT!? This is absolutely perfect for cheap college students since the serving sizes are plenty! I ordered the Taylor Street Baked Ziti to eat and chose to take the lighter version to-go. The baked ziti was delicious and I only managed to eat half, so I was seriously able to squeeze multiple meals out of my $12.95! SCOREEEE! The take home option comes pre-packaged and appeared to be frozen. There's a label on the front that leads you to a website about how to bake or heat up your pasta. I also got to try my friend's lighter version of the Fettuccine Alfredo. The serving size seemed a bit smaller as he gobbled it up within minutes, but it was seriously one of the best tasting alfredos I have ever tried. We ended the night with the $12 dessert sampler that is *supposed* to come with 5 different mini versions of their best desserts. (Most desserts were around $7.95 if ordered alone.) They unfortunately were out of their mini cheesecakes, so Dana offered to replace it with another tiramisu and threw in an order of their lemon cookies. Seriously... BLOWN AWAY by the service! The desserts were delicious by the way, but way too much for just two people to share. Dana ended up bringing us an assortment of to-go containers to choose from so we could pack up our leftover desserts the way we wanted to. I think I just found my new favorite place to eat at if I get hungry after shopping at the mall.

First time here and I loved it! Our server was Loc and he was amazing. He recommended the calamari which he told us was tender and like no other. It was, our entrees were equally delicious. Loc recommended the cheesecake which sounds pretty boring but it was fluffy and came with the most delicious strawberry sauce. I haven't been to restaurant that pleased me so much on my first visit.

If chain's are bad, I don't want to be right... ...but ONLY if it's a Maggiano's. A friend and I had been trying vigorously to set a double date up. Finally we found a date that worked, but we just needed a location. I'd seen plenty of social media pictures of this spot...but didn't know much about it. After suggesting it and it being accepted, then did I do some research. AHH! Did I just get reservations for a chain restaurant? Yup, I sure as hell did! This is my foodie integrity on the line, I almost canceled. But I didn't. And boy, am I glad I didn't! I don't care what all you food snobs say, Maggiano's is pretty legit. The setting is nice and chainy, but I'm okay with that. So when I originally perused the online menu, I saw the "The Marco's Meal for Two" but I didn't really pay any mind to it. However, when I got there and re-read it, I was astonished. You get an appetizer, two meals, and a dessert AAANNNND two entrees to go home?!? That does not sound right. Yes, I was that girl who asked my server about six times if this was real. What was the catch? Can I really take whatever I want home? All answers pointed to yes and me being slightly embarrassed that I just wouldn't believe this deal. I think it's hard to believe because they tout that everything is fresh and homemade. How can you offer all that food for $40? I guess that's the luxury of being a chain! The portions are heavenly and so is the taste. From our Spinach and artichoke dip to our apple crostada, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Both of our pasta's were on point! I will throw out there, that if you're a true Italian...then maybe you should just stick to home cooking, since I'm Asian, I can say it tasted good to me ;) (I kid, kinda!) The service was delightful, our server was at 110% while we were there. It could be that we were eating at 5PM like old people, because we had to get over to the Sac Republic FC championship game right after dinner. It could be because she just started her shift, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say she was a nice gal that worked hard! I'm a chain-eater, what can I say!

Let me begin by saying Chloe, our server was stellar, amazing, the best ever. She went out of her way to make our lunch experience fun. The food was also exceptional. Every dish and beverage was a work of art. We started with the fried zucchini. It was fried to perfection with a tasty panko crust. Chloe brought the aoili sauce and marinara. That was great because we could all dress it up differently. We ordered the 4 cheese ravioli, fettuccine alfredo, chopped sañad abd the meatball sandwich. No complaints from my crew on the food and we all agree we will repeat our orders th next time. My daughters we thrilled with the take home pasta option. The coctails were also great. I'm sure we will return and we'll be looking for Chloe

My work catered a lunch from here that was very good so I wanted to try the real deal. Plus I had a coupon :) Came here with my co-worker for lunch yesterday around noon. They were moderately busy but not crazy busy. We waited just a minute before being taken to our seat. She leads us into the farthest corner of the restaurant to this giant round booth for the TWO of us passing up several regular booths. I'm thinking really? she must've saw the look on my face and asked if that one was alright or would I like a regular booth. Regular please. I dont feel like scootin' my rear in a half moon to get to the other side at the moment. Our waiter asks if it was or first time so he told us everything is made from scratch. He disappears for quite a bit before we can order. Finally he shows up. Ate through the bread with no butter or oil to dip before our meal arrives. I got the rigatoni D and it was not creamy like the online photo. It was like soup with bits of chicken. Not quite worth the $16.95 price tag. We were on our lunch hr and already 45 mins in trying to find our waiter again as he never came back and our drinks were empty couldn't finish meal. He finally appears and I tell him that we are on our lunch and needed to go so could he bring a to go box and our check so we can get out of there. Disappears forever again and tells me i'm a dollar short to qualify my $10 of $30 coupon and that we could order a dessert to go to quality. I asked for dessert menu. 5 minutes pass before menu comes and i hurriedly order the simplest item on the menu that would not require a lot of time like the lemon cookies. We wait awhile and he brings the check and to go box. Wheres the cookies? he says they will be a few more minutes. Really??? how long does it take to sprinkle some powdered sugar on it? I can understand him being busy but how come i never saw him on the restaurant floor when I saw several other wait staff more often than him? Also when he was there, no sense of urgency. Okay total time at restaurant One hour and 10 mins. Actual time eating: 20 mins? the rest was just incessant waiting for each action. It was sooooo incredibly unnerving. My lunch exceeded the alotted hour and I had to use vacation time to cover it as I am not exempt. The food had potential so I would come again but only when I have 2-3 hrs to kill.

Decided to FINALLY try this place out since we I've heard so many good things about it! Came around 2:00 PM on a Saturday afternoon so we didn't have to wait long to be seated! Place was actually pretty empty so the host seated us in one of their booths towards the back wall. Maggiano's is a great place for date and/or family night! Its decor screams fancy/upscale Italian restaurant, but, is surprisingly affordable! They have tons of items to choose from (i.e. pastas, salads, seafood, chicken, beef, pizzas/flatbreads) and the waitress stressed they do not believe in using microwaves to ensure everything is freshly made to order! (Nice to know!) We opted for their Dinner for 2 deal ($39.95 ONLY!!) which allowed us one appetizer (we chose their Italian sausage flatbread), FOUR entrees (two for now and two to take home-- we both chose their spaghetti and meatballs for dine-in and the Lighter Take Baked Ziti to take home), and a dessert (we chose their Apple Crostada which came with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream). Every meal comes with complimentary house white bread as well! We enjoyed their Italian sausage flatbread! It was nice and crispy with ample amounts of sausage and basil over their house margherita sauce. The spaghetti and meatball (yes, only ONE--but it was pretty HUGE) was decent (I actually think the spaghetti served at Cheesecake factory may be a bit tastier) and they are extremely generous with portion sizes! Next time, I'll probably opt for something different like their lasagna! Lastly, the Apple Crostada was AMAZING! It resembled a mini apple pie with a nice and crispy outer layer filed with warm cinnamon laced apples! The vanilla ice cream was a nice touch as this ended up being the only plate I demolished!! :) The next day I baked the Ziti and thought it was only "OK." Too salty in my personal opinion and the Italian chicken sausage wasn't all that appetizing. (Maybe substituting chicken for Italian sausage would have been a better option!) Their house white bread was really delicious too! It came out nice and warm with a soft and chewy inside. We dipped it in an olive oil and balsamic vinegar mixture and it was so delicious we asked the waitress if we could take some home. Service was "OK" as well. We had to flag down our waitress a few times for water refills even though the place was empty. We had even asked for seconds on the house bread and she explained to us since everything is cooked fresh we'd have to wait ~five minutes---we didn't receive any until the end of our meal which was a real letdown since I wanted some to go with my spaghetti :( I'd give her a 3.5/5. Overall, Maggiano's is a great place to take a date or your family. They offer good deals for big groups (i.e. family meals and dinner for two options) and has a nice upscale feel to it! Plus, it's next to the mall, so you can walk off all that food afterwards! My advice, be adventurous with the menu and try something different!! (I know I didn't do this--but I regret it!!)

I've had the pleasure of eating here twice now, so I think I like it, if I came back a second time! What really stood out for me, was the excellent service. I can't stress that enough, I can overlook a lot, but bad service is not one of them, it can really just ruin the whole experience for me. I enjoyed the salads I had ordered, along with the wonderful Mushroom Ravioli. It's served with the most yummy cream sauce. The atmosphere is nice, well lit, though personally I prefer a darker restaurant, more intimate. Lots of interesting craft cocktails on the menu as well.

My first time to Maggiano's Little Italy was a great experience. Made reservations through Yelp with no issues and when I got there they took me with in minutes. Our server Chloe provided excellent service. She is very energetic, makes sure you have everything you need, refills drinks and bread, and all the other things. I ordered the Our Famous Rigatoni "D" and it was good. It came with chicken, mushrooms, onions, with cream sauce mixed with rigatoni. It's very simple and basic but still delicious. The complimentary bread is very soft and you can dip it in oil if you like. Worth trying and coming back to. Tip: Sign up for there "fan club" so you can receive coupons through email. Fill out the form after dinner.

The peppercorn steak was hella good wish the portion was bigger but it was cooked superbly the salad and bread with the cheese and olive oil was phenomenal would rate it 5 stars if the server was more fast and friendly.

Maggiano's takes the whole AYCE model to a whole new level. For large parties that recommend you do that all you can eat. We came with about 15 people and it comes at about $30 a person. Your meal is separated into 3 courses: appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Dessert, however, is not recognized by the AYCE (which is a bummer). Your appetizers come out as many times as you would like. However, the minute you want to get your entrees the window closes for your appetizers. Same for when you want dessert. You get 3 appetizers. We got: calamari, mussels, and caprese salad. Calamari was a hit. I can't remember how many times we ordered it. Mussels went fast too. I think I was the only fan of the caprese salad. It was a nice cut between the heaviness of breaded, fried food and saucy mussels. For the appetizers we got the steak which came with mashed potatoes, tilapia, and two pasta dishes. The mashed potatoes were probably the best thing aside from the calamari. I wanted more steak just so i could eat it. By the time the entree came out we were all dying and stuff. Great thing is, you can take it to go! We got brownies with ice cream and cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake was BOMB. So smooth, soft, creamy, delicious. Not too sweet, not too bland. Melt in your mouth deliciousness. I wish it was AYCE cause I would've eaten 4 more slices on my own. Would come back and change some things around but calamari and cheesecake will be forever.

Whether you make a reservation or not, arrive early to find parking! The mall is no joke. The crowded environment wasn't that bad. I'm just glad our family has another decent Italian option in Sacramento, because Bucca di Beppo and Olive Garden were getting played out for me. We started off with warm bread and mussels to share. These are pretty generous portions, so just pace yourself and you'll survive. Haha! The lasagna was tasty, but the eggplant parmigiana was not memorable. The tiramisu was demolished in a minute or two. The next day, I ate my take home pasta and it was really rich. My taste buds usually have a high tolerance for cheese but this bully alfredo was like, "HERE I AM, YOU CAN'T HANDLE ALL OF THIS". It was right. Sooo, I might come back for a rematch.

I ordered the Chicken Caprese. It was good but took quite long to come out at lunch time, and it wasn't busy. We (5 of us) arrived at 11:30am and our orders didn't come out until 12:15pm. We each ordered one dish. I've been here during dinner service and it was way slow too but way faster than today! Maybe this time the chef had to butcher and clean the chicken in the kitchen. The waitress was nice to give free soda refills and apologized for the wait. Expect to wait. Portion size was big! Nice presentation.

Love this places. use to go to bucca de peppo, but not anymore. Try dinner for two, you'll love it and it's only for 40 bucks. You get 1 app, 2 entrees, 1 dessert, n 2 two go entrees. Awesome ..... so if you think italian, think maggiano.

Came here Saturday evening for a little birthday dinner for my friend. The wait was about 40 mins and they text you when your table is ready, so while you're waiting you can go to the mall and shop around. It was shorter than 40 mins, the front says little Italy, the inside was really nice, to be honest it seemed nice from what I can tell, but because there were so many people I got distracted. The tables are so close together. I mean if no one was sitting at the tables around us, it wouldn't be so crowded but when people are seated I noticed that it was hard for our server to walk around. Our server was extremely pretty (irrelevant), she was very nice and helpful, our water was always filled when needed. It was actually really busy, because it took forever for our food to come out. The bread was out quick, and the calamari that we ordered (they're calamari, they're always good). What we ordered: seafood di mare, four cheese ravioli, lasagna, sausage gnocchi, and chicken Marsala. I ordered the seafood pasta di mare, there's mussel, shrimp, calamari and lobster all for about 22$. It was ok, better than the one I ordered in sf. The portions were huge, I love it. Reminds me of bucca. But our wait was about 40 mins. I timed it. That was terrible because I was hungry so we had to order a second round of bread. You know what that many carbs can do to you? You get full!!! Over all we all thought our food was normal, ok. Would we come back? Maybe if we wanted a step up from spaghetti factory.

If this would have been my first visit it would have been the last. Our waiter was both rude and obnoxious not to mention in our face every other minute. A slow day - not many tables occupied so no reason to rush us off. But.... we were rushed. What should have been a relaxed lunch (they were not busy), wash rushed and our waiter really should have been off folding napkins or helping with the dishes if he was that bored. I will go back again because it's not the restaurants fault - the food is good. They just need to get rid of this waiter -- or re-train him.

What a great restaurant to go with family and friends. Good portion of food and always great service. I have been referring friends and family to go for a try. Just remember that they have low calories menu. Only one concern I have......red or white sauce are quite salty. My other friends feel the same too. Hope the chef aware of it and could reduce the salt input. Thanks.

This was our first time and it was really enjoyable. From the food, prices and wait staff every thing was great. Other servers stopped and offered assistance. Unexpected but very helpful. The attitude of all employee's was top notch. The décor was comfortable. Music was Sinatra and a few others. Mellow and not loud. We will return. Check their web site and become an E member and get $10 certificate.

First off, I'd like to thank our waitress, Jordyn, for providing excellent customer service. She was professional, knowledgeable, and very personable throughout our whole dining experience. We came here right after donating for the first time at a local blood drive, so it's only right to feast on a hearty meal so as to not pass out, right? That, and we figured it's their grand opening, which was a date we've been keeping an eye out for since last month. Revolving door entrance, bar to the left and dining area to the right, extending farther back of the restaurant. Nothing "little" about this Little Italy. Even the portions were on the hefty side, though surprisingly I didn't have any leftovers to take home. The calamari plate was our kick-off. Delicious appetizer -- crisp and nicely seasoned, perfect with my generous squeeze of fresh lemon adding a bit of acidity, paired beautifully with a side of marinara. Light, but it definitely got my appetite going. For my entrée, I ordered the Beef Tenderloin Medallions (cooked to order): medallions of beef served with roasted garlic mashed potatoes in a portabella and balsamic cream sauce -- on point with my medium-rare liking, tender and juicy, and what else can I say...it's tenderloin, which is the best and appropriately most expensive cut of beef. Mini Dessert Sampler time! It consisted of 5 different items for $12.95: Tiramisu, Nonna's Toasted Pound Cake, Apple Crostada, New York Style Cheesecake, and Vera's Lemon Cookies. Each bite was good, but my favorite out of the bunch would have to be the pound cake. It came with hot fudge, vanilla bean ice cream, and caramelized bananas ~ Always room for that in my stomach. It's been a while since I had a nightcap, so I decided at the last second on that White Russian. I miss those creamy alcoholic drinks. Good note to end the meal. Awesome first visit! Looking forward to the next one soon.

All I can say is the service is AWSOME!! FIRST DINNER DATE WITH HUSBAND.. Everyone was so wonderful.... I'm so lost for words () the food was excellent, low light setting. Since I never got a chance to feed husband after getting married, I decided to order the cheesecake and asked our waitress ( Ms. B. ) to take a picture of us. SEE YOU GUYS REAL SOON 100% AWESOME!!!!!!'

Service was good but I'm only reviewing on the food. Which I had mushroom ravioli and it was so good. Better than my expectations. Went here about a month or so ago. I am a huge book worm and when Bella Swan had mushroom ravioli in Twilight I've been wanting to try it for the past 6+ years. Ordered it for the first time here and I thought it was so amazing and delicious and beyond my tastebuds. My whole mouth was salivating and my family loved it too! My little brother ditched his pizza and even my sister stopped eating her spaghetti and meatballs...Everyone is correct..it is rich...but oh so good! Can't wait for my next visit..I work at the mall too..ha. But it's okay, I'll save it for an occasion :)

I have been waiting for this place to open. This was our first time here and we weren't sure what to expect. We walked in and the first thing that came to mind was "hmm must be expensive". The ambiance was very intimate and luckily for us it wasn't too busy (we arrived around 2ish). Anyway, after being seated and a quick glance of the menu my husband and I decided to get "Marco's Meal for 2" ($39.99) because we figured it was the best way to try out the menu. It came with 2 salads (we ordered the chopped salad; you also had the option of an appetizer or flatbread), 2 main entrées (I got the spaghetti and meatball with meat sauce, while the husband ordered the baked ziti), 1 dessert (we chose tiramisu) and 2 complimentary entrées to take home (lasagna and Alfredo).... Wait what??? Yes, complimentary as in take home! We couldn't believe it either because there had to be a catch right? NO. So we thought ok, maybe their food isn't that good and they're trying to bribe customers to come back but that is so not the case. From the salad to the pasta to the dessert, everything was tasty and yummy. Service was also up to par. Now if only they could build one closer to Fairfield!! Until then looks like we'll have to make it out to Arden whenever we have a craving for Italian food.

Went for lunch and the air conditioner was so cold that it made the bread very hard. So hard that the bread actually broke my tooth off! The manager paid for my meal and said that his insurance company would call me about the tooth. It's been over a month and I've never heard from them. That was the most EXPENSIVE lunch I have ever had!

This place is like a Buca di Beppo on steroids (well minus the crazy decor). It's a step above but I wouldn't call it gourmet. Portions are large and it is the perfect setting to share meals and eat family-style. For dinner they had this sort of buy one take one that I think olive garden does as well sometimes. I got the ravioli and I was able to take a lasagna home at no extra cost. They give you reheating instructions and package it up for you to take home at the end of your meal. That was so reasonable cost wise. I thought they were joking for a while. The staff was attentive. I went on a weeknight so I'm not sure how crowded it gets on Friday or Saturday. Over all I find it better than the large Italian chains but it's no il fornaio. I'm pretty sure they're not claiming to be though so if you want decent food and are craving Italian I would definitely check it out.

Had possibly one of the worst pastas ever! Pasta was overlooked, not slightly but very over cooked. The sauce was bland and flavorless. The only good thing is that they have a full bar so shopping in Arden isn't as bad. Stop by for a drink or two then go shopping, or continue shopping. Good is horrible, but drinks are good!

Went to Maggiano's for my birthday dinner this year. We didn't have reservations, which was a mistake because our wait time turned out to be 1.5 hours. Since the restaurant is in the Arden Mall, we used that wait time to do some shopping. Maggiano's is the only Italian chain I like and it is owned by the same company who owns Chili's. Even though I have been to other Maggiano locations before [Atlanta and San Jose], this one was the most kids friendly because it was really loud inside. Service was excellent here. We opted for the Meal for two deal for 40$ [+4 for 2 of the entrees] , because that was the only reasonable thing to do considering that you get 4 entrees. Things we tried:- 1) Calamari Fritte Appetizer - Marinara sauce was awesome - 2nd best I've ever had, 1st being the one at Biba. 2) Mushroom Ravioli - Was delicious and extremely rich. 3) Mom's Lasagna - I didn't try it, but TH loved it and finished the whole thing. 4) Baked Ziti [lighter version with Chicken Sausage] - It looked very simple but tasted amazing. 5) Fettuccini Alfredo [lighter version with chicken] - This was the only dish I didn't like. Chicken tasted bad and the pasta lacked flavor. 6) Tiramisu - Wonderful, and a good size. 7) Long Island Iced tea Overall, the meal for two was a great deal. But I would like to try some of their other entrees next time.

Maggiano's is my new favorite place. My mom took me here a few days before my wedding (last week) just to have mother/daughter time. I was so impressed. We got the two for $40 deal. We ordered two salads, two entrees to eat there, a dessert to share, and two different entrees to take home. What?!?! The salads were so good, the light alfredo pasta (chicken added) and lasagna were awesome, the baked ziti was alright, and the cheesecake was good. I forgot what entree my mom ordered to take home but she raved about it the next day. The waitstaff was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. Plus there was no wait. My husband and I are on our way there now hehe!! **Happy Eating Everybody**

Delicious food with very large portions. The service is phenomenal. Not only was our server attentive and friendly, but most other employees that walked by made a point to acknowledge us and make sure we were happy. My husband, myself and our two young children enjoyed the atmosphere and what felt like special attention. I'm not a big pasta eater but I ate way more than I should have. The flavors were so good. All in all the quality alone is worth the trip but we left with so much food. We took home Not only the "pasta for tomorrow", also with half of our meal as well as our dessert that we would never have been able to eat. (Cheesecake with strawberries that we ate at home before bed. Yum)

Nice service, dark lighting which I like. Food was pretty good but not great. I've had better tho. Thought our food could of been warmer. Drinks were flavorful!

I have tried several things on the menu now and all have been hood. The location is at the mall so parking can be a pain. When it first opened it was hard to get seating but now every time I have been, which includes both lunch and dinner, there has been no wait. The portions are large and prices are good for what you get. They have some pasta options where you order a dish to eat right away and they give you one to go so that you can heat it up at home. The calamari is a good appetizer...crispy on the outside and tender on the inside with marinara dipping sauce. Also, bread is served warm...yummy. All the pasta have been good. Service is friendly and attentive. This is a family place so it can get loud. I have heard kids wailing on more than one occasion.

Was back in Sacto for work this past week. Its been two years since my last trip up and was normally I stay in Roseville and eat at Mikunis every night (my fave ;)). I know there's a Taros at Arden Fair too but since I love Maggiano's and was told it was newer to the mall, I figured it would forgive having to do trainings at the mall for 5 days. The first night I ordered was awesome. Got my fave Chicken Rigatoni, and the Apple Crostada dessert (I think that's what its called?). They gave me extra bread, etc (got takeout to eat in the hotel room). Was tired the next day and decided to just do the same thing (obvious creature of habit), but ixay the dessert and get the roasted potatoes. Super excited once I got to the hotel to devour this baby- so hungry. Opened the potatoes first- yum. I had never gotten them before- love my carbs. Started to indulge in the rigatoni and UH OH, a hair. I tried not to freak out, as my normal OCD self would, and justify that it was from the shitake mushrooms. Pushed the pasta around a bit more and found more hair. EW. EW. EW. soooo EW. I mean, cue Jimmy Fallon- this would be the next verse in "Ew". Immediately called the restaurant, talked to the manager, who was very apologetic and said he would void the charge (hence the two stars and not one). So incredibly disgusting though- never eating there again and told everyone I knew not to either. Okay service but someone buy them hairnets in the kitchen please. Ew.

Went here last night with my girlfriend, we had been craving Italian and I suggested this place because I had been to one in Los Angeles. We found seating immediately at the bar on a busy Saturday night which was great. I ordered Marco's dinner for two, which is supposed to be a complete meal (starter, main dish, and dessert, plus a take home meal) We had our starter salads, which were very good. For the main dish we ordered the eggplant Parmesan (which we had to change because they were out of eggplant) and the Ziti. We had wine and dessert as well. Everything was very good When I got the bill I noticed that I was charged for our dessert, and our Waiter never asked what we wanted to take home. All in all I ended up paying over $90 for our dinner and never got anything to take with us. We had a movie to catch so we just left, but I felt a little taken advantage of when I left. Probably won't return.

Best chain Italian food I've ever had!!! The food is really good and it's impossible to leave unsatisfied... especially when it's possible to get another meal free to take home with you. I have been her for lunch an for dinner, and each time I get great customer service and excellent Italian food. I really have to recommend the "family style" experience... I came here for a birthday dinner for a party if 8 and we decided to do the "family style dinner" which allows you to pick certain apps, entrees, and desserts and they keep bringing more and more till you tell them to stop! It blew my mind how good the food was... I was wishing I had two stomachs that night so I could keep eating. The staff will tell you how everything is cooked from scratch and they don't have any microwaves, but to tell you the truth.... as long as the food is as good as it is, I don't question what they're doing in that kitchen.

Had a delicious experience dining at Maggiano's during the holidays with my wife and I being able to partake in their soup/sandwich deal. I had a meatball sandwich while she had a chicken panini. The restaurant decor was stylish and cozy. The service quick and well versed in what was being served. We can't wait to go back again.

This place never disappoints. The bread is so good I have to refrain from eating it all or I won't be able to finish my food. The service is consistently good. The ambience is nice, tables, glasses and utensils are clean. The food is always delicious.

So the food overall was fantastic, but the service sucked!!! We waited 20 min just to get our drinks. Any time we needed something, our server was no where to be found. When we finally found him, he would take at least 10-15 min to bring whatever it was we needed. I wished the service was better, but I can't give this place more than 3 stars because of it. We were seated at 5:15, and didn't finish eating until almost 8 pm. That's how slow it was! I did really like that you get a complimentary take home meal from the chef though. That was a huge bonus. Maybe willing to give it another chance. Oh and the brownies were hard as rocks.

We had reservations at 4:45 and were led right to our table when we got there. We were recommended by a friend to try out this Italian restaurant near Arden and went for my birthday. They say the bread is amazing but honestly when I tried it, the only thing that amazed me was how they got their crust to be so crunchy. It sliced my brother's cheek, and that surprised me.

I know this is a chain restaurant, so if you've had food at Maggiano's in one city, you know what you're in for, but I decided to review based on the exceptional service we received at this location. Our waitress, Chloe, was attentive, friendly, and on top of her game regardless of how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday night. The food was good. I had the lighter take on the chicken Parmesan and it was great. My friends all enjoyed their meals as well. I would definitely come back to this restaurant the next time I visit Sacramento.

My SO and I decided to try this new restaurant last minute. We didn't have reservation and it was sure busy on a Saturday night. The wait was about 45 minutes along. Luckily there was open bar seating so without hesitation we grabbed the seats. There were two bartenders at the bar. They were super busy but they tried really hard to accommodate our needs. Customer service was on point. We orders the chicken and roasted pepper flatbread. OMGosh, it was so good! I don't want to sound like I'm over exaggerating but it probably one of the best flatbreads I ever had. Not only did it tastes delicious but it smells good. The cheese they used was superb. (Didn't get name of the cheese) We also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo (lighter take: lower calories). It was perfect, not to heavy but had a good amount of the creamy taste to it. The best part, you get a complimentary take home from the chef. How awesome is that?!. So we got the baked ziti (lighter take). It was made a little different than most baked ziti I eaten. On gosh the cheese balls, it was phenomenal. We had it for lunch the next day and although it was one day old, it still tasted good. I don't consider myself a pasta expert bc I'm not a pasta gal; however their pastas is made to my taste bud so I am satisfied. We will def come back..

Maggiano's is basically an Olive Garden with a more stylish interior. When I showed up in a t-shirt and shorts, the decor and dim lighting made me feel like I was under dressed. Looking around at the other patrons, however, I seemed to fit right in. We did the dinner for two deal, which consists of an appetizer, two pastas, a dessert, and two pastas to take home. Along with that, we each got beer as well as a flat bread appetizer. The flatbread was probably the best part of the meal. It was made well and was a satisfying apptizer. The mussels lacked flavor, and paled in comparison to a similar dish at Firestone Pub. The pastas that I tried, a mushroom ravioli and a baked ziti, were overly salted and weren't terribly inspiring. I recall having better tasting pasta at the Cheesecake Factory. The tiramisu was good, but I don't recall ever having a tiramisu that I didn't enjoy. In all, the cost per person was about $40, which is on the high side for this level of quality, even if it comes with lunch the next day.

I think this is the best Italian place I've ever been too. The staff is super nice, Lesley - you rock babe! And the food...Oh.Em.Ge. Everything from the complimentary bread to the Pinot Grigio was just fabulous. We took advantage of their meal for 2 and added an appetizer. The app we got was the Mozzarella Marinara. Basically huge chunks of delicious cheese breaded and dowsed in marinara sauce. Soo good. Next was the salad, we ordered the Caesar - again amazing. Now for the main dish. Cheese ravioli with a pesto Alfredo sauce. I literally can't think of any other ravioli I ever had that was better. It was flavorful and the sauce was so rich. By this time we were too full but took the cheesecake to go. I had it this morning (don't judge me) and it was again, so damn good. The restaurant itself is super romantic and gives that old world feel. Should come here if you want to impress a special someone.

I only gave 2 stars for our awesome server other then That the food was way over priced & not worth it. I had a coupon for $20 off and still paid $50 bucks. I don't understand why there are some many good reviews i guess alot of people like eating crap. I Won't be back!!!

I came here twice. One time just for dinner and another time for a friends' birthday. Maggiano is really nice inside. Even though there wasn't a lot of people in the restaurant, expect to wait a while for the food. The best deal is to go there is for 1 appetizer, 2 entrees to eat, 2 entrees to take home, and one dessert. I love the mussels as appetizer. The mussels are delicious in a white sauce. You must try it! I love the mushroom raviolis and the lasagna. Those two are my favorite entree. I love the pound cake. It was really good! The drink, Manhattan, was really strong. It was all alcohol, not my cup of tea. Customer service was good here. I would come back here.

Good service - waitress was nice and attentive Great food - Chef KB's Lobster Carbonara is a definite must order... everything about that dish is just perfect, noodles were not too soft but slightly al dente, the sauce was light not too heavy and l loved the chunks of lobster in it which was cooked just right

Okay, I am going to add an extra star & a half just because the service for our party of 17 was pretty good. We had two servers, and the lady not sure what her name was but she was excellent. Our reservation was at 7 .. our entire party got there by 7:15 and we were seated right away. I am always so glad when they bring water right away. Of course the bread baskets came first, and yes i'm a bread whore so I dove right in. I like my bread soft and warm and with the balsamic .. ouu so yum! I think everyone on our side of the table pretty much ordered the Marco's Meal for Two. Such a great deal - comes with an appetizer, or a flatbread, or two side salads, two entrees, a dessert PLUS two more entrees just to take home all for $39.95. I mean if you are on a budget this would be the place to go! You can basically have a meal for the entire week, haha! The reason for the 3 stars is because Italian food rarely amazes me. It's mostly just pastas and I usually never have the cravings for it. I did get the chance to try a little bit of everyone's food today so I will let you know what I thought of them. Mussels: comes with 4 crispy bread and some white beans and tomatoes on a light broth - thought it was ok.. a little too salty for my taste. Eggplant Parmesan - did not really impress me Four Cheese Ravioli - came with some kind of pesto sauce.. that I really like mixed with a bit of marinara Spinach & Artichoke Dip - i had a tiny bite, but I thought it was good.. really cheesy & flavorful The desserts were ok .. the brownies I had was very dense, you really need something else to eat it with for sure .. i just ended up eating the ice cream on the side. I didn't care for the cheesecake or the pound cake. I would have probably really like the caramelized bananas but they ran out. Anyways, had so much leftover to take home. I ended up going home with most of my eggplant parm, my take home entree of mushroom ravioli, plus an en extra entree of the lighter take alfredo fettucine. So perfect for my grandma and mom! Plus the brownies for my little sister .. they would have probably thought I ordered all of that. So if you are looking for a great deal & craving Italian .. then yes definitely come here. A bang for your buck! Almost forgot .. the moscato mojito was sooooo good. Its a great drink for girls who don't want to taste any alcohol in their drinks haha. It felt like I was drinking juice.

I don't know how this place got such a good review. The food was bland. I ordered the Sirloin and the wife got the fruit de mar. The food could have used some salt. No flavor what so ever. It took them forever to get our food. The food was luke warm. The manager offered use a complimentary desert for us waiting for our food. So we ordered the sampler. Complimentary my a$$. When the bill they still charged us for desert. And there kids menus states "meal come with a drink and ice cream". Yet when the bill came my kids were charged with ice cream and soda. I tried to show the waitress and she tried to argue with me. I'm not going back here. I would rather go to Buca de Bepo the food is way better. And there waitresses know what's on the menu.

This place is excellent and has stellar customer service. The servers are very friendly and know the dishes well. I have met Monique, Will, and Lindsay. They will go above and beyond to make a guest feel welcome. The waiting time to get a table is minimal. I have been here twice over the course of 2 weeks. An example of their excellent customer service is their birthday coupon- my birthday coupon had not been emailed out in time but the manager still honored it which I greatly appreciated . The birthday coupon by the way is $10 off. I have ordered several pasta, an appetizer, soup and two different desserts LobsterCarbonara -Very flavorful and they are generous with the chucks of lobster. the pasta is cooked nicely . Italian Sausage soup - full of flavor and nice spices- very hearty soup perfect for any occasion- all of their soups are homemade and it really shows Nona pound cake- this is one of the best desserts to order. The caramelized bananas are awesome and the chocolate sauce and ice-cream go well with the pound cake. The pound cake is moist and not dry.I liked the sugar toasted caramelization on the edges. Stuffed mushrooms- This was one of the least favorite items I have tried- they are huge mushrooms and not bad but just not the typical stuffed mushrooms I'm used to. I felt like they needed more cheese and more flavor Rigatonni D-this is one of their signature dishes and it really shows. The flavors and combination of the marsala cream sauce make for a nicely balanced pasta dish. The chicken is tender, moist and flavorful. The baby mushrooms served with the dish are delicious. Double Choc chunk brownie- this is a nice dessert but when compared to the Nona cake i would choose the Nona cake over this. The brownies are moist and not dry . They pack a lot of choc in one bite. The side of ice-cream and strawberries is a nice addition Overall, I am glad to see an Italian place at Arden. Keep up the excellent work and great customer service. I will be coming back again and again :)

Appetizer: Stuffed Mushrooms and Bruschetta Dinner: Stuffed Ravioli (sauce was thick and very rich/creamy), Lasagna (Recommend)!!! Desert : Tiramisu and Pound cake with carmelized banana with vanilla bean ice cream. #Yum!!!! All amazing... and they give you plenty of food to take home!

I've been there twice now. Once for lunch and once for dinner. The portions are huge! They have a deal called "today and tomorrow" or something like that. If you order one of those pastas, you get another one of your choice to take home for the next day, no extra charge. Such a great deal. The Cheese raviolis were very good. The gnocchi and Italian sausage is delicious as well. I love how they have balsamic and oil to dip your bread in. Not many places do that anymore. I'll definitely be back !

I was very excited to come try this place after seeing the building come to life over the past few months in front of Arden Fair Mall. We were in need of a good hearty meal after donating blood this afternoon, so Maggiano's was the perfect dinner spot, plus today was their grand opening day! The place was lively and elegant when we walked inside. We were greeted by multiple hosts and they seated us right away in the center of the dining room. It looks like there are many tables, but they are spaced well enough to maintain your own privacy from the people next to you. The menu has your classic Italian dishes. Our server, Jordyn, informed us that Maggiano's has a scratch kitchen, and they can cater to any food allergies or modifications. They even have a family style menu for bigger parties, or a meal-for-two option that includes the appetizer, entrees, and dessert, and two more entrees to take home. For our dinner, we opted to choose our own dishes instead of being restricted to only the classic pasta options for the meal-for-two. We started off with the calamari, an appetizer that we often like to try at any new restaurant that offers it. It was perfectly crispy but not over-breaded, paired with their creamy marinara. They also bring you complimentary bread, which was really soft. For my entree, I went with the gnocchi w/ italian sausage. The portion was huge, so I decided to save half to take home. I've only had one other gnocchi dish at my favorite Italian restaurant, and Maggiano's version was just as good! And finally, no meal is complete without dessert. We couldn't decide on one thing, so of course Maggiano's took care of that for us - they offer a dessert sampler. Five mini-size items for about $12. It was the perfect amount for us, and we were able to try more than one thing which was nice. Started off with the pound cake with a caramelized banana - my favorite one definitely! Next, the apple crostada...soft dough with apple pie filling, can't go wrong with that. The mini cheesecake topped with strawberries was different than the rest - our server told us that it is made with ricotta cheese, giving it a creamier and lighter flavor than usual. It was good, but doesn't have that classic cheesecake texture. Then, we had lemon cookies. My least favorite of the bunch, but not terrible either. They would be great for those who aren't big chocolate fans. And finally, the tiramisu - not as good as I expected. The espresso powder on top was far too overpowering and ruined the creamy texture for me. Service was awesome. Quite a few servers besides our own stopped by to check on us and how our meals came out. Jordyn was very personable and often recommended her favorite dishes to help us decide on our own. It seemed like we might have been her last table of the night, so I appreciate that she didn't rush us out of there. I can't wait to return to Maggiano's for another nice dinner out! I'm looking forward to trying their lasagna, ravioli, and other desserts. Maggiano's is definitely one of my top 3 favorite Italian spots!

This place is hit and miss to me. I've been here 3 times. 1st experience (arrived right when they opened for lunch) - Service was beyond excellent! Our server Maria was attentive and informative of their special dishes. Our first dish we ordered was the Lobster carbonara (substituted spaghetti noodles for linguine noodles). It came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious! Although the dish was $22 it was a huge portion! Definitely enough for 2! Also, it came with a generous amount of lobster! When our second dish came out the chef himself brought it out to us and asked how we liked our food so far and please let him know if we need anything else! Very sweet! Although we did not care for our second dish (Taylor Street Baked Ziti) it was a bit watery... Maybe it was because I substituted the tomato sauce for vodka cream sauce? Getting a dish to take home for free was a nice incentive. Overall first experience was great! 2nd experience (Saturday dinner rush) - So making the mistake of not taking into account that it was a Saturday and dinner hour, my sister and I drove out there and were told the wait would be about 40 mins. Reluctantly we agreed since we already made the trek out here so we figured we could just walk around till they contacted us. We were told we would receive a text once our table was ready but when 45mins passed I decided to give them a call to inquire about the status of our table. I was told they were still running behind on time and they would give me a call as soon as our table was ready. When my sis and I actually reached the restaurant we told them we were in a rush and we wouldn't mind even sitting in the bar area to eat. So after an HOUR WAIT for a table of TWO we were finally seated and to be honest I almost left because the the servers in the bar area were so rude! When we ASKED (we were not offered) for some balsamic vinegar to go with our olive oil the server didn't say anything and grabbed a bottle and poured a dab of balsamic I asked for more the she rolled her eyes and not wanting to trouble her again I asked if she would mind just leaving the bottle she dropped the bottle down on the table and just walked away. I really wanted to complain (I should have) to the managed but she was not wearing a name tag (African American female mid 20s a little bit on the heavier side). She continued to give us dirty looks but luckily we had another server who was.... Not quite as rude I guess you can say. That day we ordered the calamari appetizer. It was delicious and fresh! For our main (because of their huge portions) we split the Linguine Di Mare. The seafood was a little bit over cooked but still pretty good nonetheless. I still prefer the lobster carbonara. The amount of seafood that came with our dish was generous as well. Also, I think our servers tried to make up for their bad service towards the end.. They started trying to be nice but I really feel it was because they wanted a tip. Too little too late though. 3rd experience (Sunday early dinner called and made a reservation) - Although it definitely wasn't as busy as the last time we came I'm glad we made a reservation. We were told they only hold your reservation 15 mins past your reservation time and so when we arrived 5 mins late we expected our table to be ready. It wasn't. But we only had to wait 10 mins so I guess that was ok... We sat outside this time which was nice since it was quieter outside. Our server was very sweet, I forgot her name already but she was a young blond girl probably in her late teens/early 20s. She brought everything out in a timely manner and was very patient & attentive. We ordered the calamari appetizer again which honestly tasted EVEN BETTER than the last time we ordered it! Plus plus! The disappointment came though when our lobster carbonara arrived. Since I loved the flavor of the garlic cream from the first time I went we decided to go with this dish but whoever made the dish added wayyy too much bacon this time around. It made the dish overly salty and thus I barely touched it after a few bites. Overall, I know for the next time I go back to 1) make a reservation 2) sit outside if I prefer a more peaceful atmosphere 3) ask the chef to go light on the salt/salty ingredients.

So much food! They have a menu option which is basically buy one get one free. I came her for an early dinner a few days ago and ordered the fettuccine alfredo which was good although I've had better. Then I got the spaghetti and meat balls to take home. This place is like an upscale olive garden. The decor is very pretty and nice. Good place to take your parents or go out with a group of friends. Service was fine. We sat at the bar and our food came out quickly as well as the delicious warm complimentary bread. They have a happy hour from 3-6 and coupons too if you sign up for their emails. My friend had a $10 off $30 which is a pretty good deal. I have pretty high standards about my desserts from chain restaurants but their mini lemon bar things are amazing.

I wish I could remember the name of our server. He was the BEST server I have ever experienced. Always came to check on us. Offered us drinks to take on our way back home. Now let me get to the food! It was amazing. I love italian, it's my favorite. My bf & I did the Marcos Meal. I got the 4 cheese ravioli he got the lasagna. It was perfect. I loved the authenticity. Our appetizer was the artichoke/spinach dip, and OMG !!! Best dip I've ever had. It was sooo creamy. I would definitely come back here.

I give this place no stars. Unbelievable! Finally I got my mom to get out the house to eat and initially we were going to eat at the olive garden however, it smelled like a senior living home. So then I remembered my aunt telling me about maggianos. We were all excited to try this new restaurant. We walked in from hot degree weather and into a cold Alaskan night due to the ambience and dirty looks as if we did not belong. They did not offer us help, it was as if we killed Cecil the lion. You know the feeling the Hispanics got when trump spoke about their culture. Thank u to the stuck up blonde. Thank u to the Asian with the highlights at the bottom. Thank u for seating us near the bar away from all the precious people in the main dining area. We belong in the back. Thank u for coming off as pretentious bihs that don't think their ish stinks. I will never step a foot in your precious little uppity Italy restaurant again.

Food was good. Service on the other hand was not so good. Had to wait for a table, went to the bar got a bottle of wine. Had huge problems transferring it to the table. Complete joke Plus. The tip advisor on the bill is off. $118 bill 20%tip is not 25. Crooked management or staff. Over all bad experience. Would not recommend it. BJ 's is right next door. Better option.

Very good, food prepared fresh on location. Extremely helpful staff and comfortable environment. There is an eat a meal here and take a meal home deal that is a real value. We enjoyed a tasty meal and got to feed "the kids" for a better part of a week. Next time we'll call a little earlier and try to get one of their quieter side rooms.

Long awaited for the place to open finally got the go in and try. The setting is nice. Classy yet had a nice laid back feel. Not like walking into bandera or Ruth's Chris where you will be judged. Prompt seating and layout gives just enough space in between tables and booths. ( a must for me, I dislike feeling invaded by those sitting next to me just because the table setting isn't efficient) The Service. Welcoming comforting and all around 5 for everyone. Out server Charmaine did great from start to finish. Knowledgeable. Helpful as well as conversed with us while keeping professional and not over welcoming the stay at the table. She gets kudos. Now the food. Wasn't a fan of the complementary bread. It is served with EVOO to dip. Not my cup of tea but maybe someone else's. Calamari was crunchy and light not heavy on the breading. I had the chicken frencesca. Came with Parmesan crusted chicken breast, spinach salad and Parmesan potatoes. All so yummy and a nice size serving. He ordered the shrimp scampi tasted amazing. Not you average scampi they have their own twist that makes it that much better. Did not order dessert because we were too full. We Will be back for the lobster carbonara and dessert sampler.

Food: EXCELLENT Service: AWEFUL! We came here for dinner on a Saturday night, so we expected it to be busy and would anticipate a longer wait for our food, but it was worse than that. It only took 5 mins to be seated, and the place was busy, but not packed. After being seated, we weren't greeted by our waitress for FIFTEEN minutes! Even then, she quickly walked by us and said she would be right with us. She was back within a few mins to ask what we wanted to drink (still no introduction, so I don't know her name). She came back with drinks and bread and pointed out the olive oil instead of pouring it and balsamic because she said her hands were full. So unprofessional! We had to go ask someone for the balsamic vinegar because she didn't come back. Another person brought us our food, and we didn't see her for a while. She checked on us once, then asked us if we wanted desert. No, we wanted to leave. If it weren't for the waitress doing the absolute bare minimum i would give this place 4-5 stars, but customer service is crucial and its not difficult to communicate to us or apologize if she was slammed, but she never did that.

I am reviewing this place solely as the first time dining experience. The ambience they are trying to create is really cool, kind of unique here in Sacramento. Going for a Mad Men vintage type of field with an Italian twist. The bar area looks pretty cool, and the restaurant lighting pleasantly dim. The food was decent! They have bottomless warm bread and olive oil and vinaigrette for dipping. We ordered a couple of pitchers of sangria, but I would not recommend the sangria here. It was much much too sweet and couldn't really taste the wine ., just the sweetness and little bit of fruit. The real deal is the meal for two for 40 bucks! You get an appetizer to share or a salad for two then your choice of entre and your choice of dessert. But you also get a whole new pair of andres to go serve in the nice to go box with humongous quantities! So you do get a lot, & I mean a lot of food for those 40 bucks! Will be back soon

Went with friends to celebrate a B-day. Since i picked the restaurant, i spent most of the meal apologizing. They don't read the request when you book a reservation on Yelp. (We had asked for a booth) When I mention it -she said they didn't notice. The service was mediocre. Wait staff tried to bring us food that were for other tables, twice. We been there before and both food and service has been great. Just sad to take friends and have a trying experience.

I'm honestly trying to remember the name of our server; She was about middle aged and was an experienced waitress. She made the experience great. She went over the menu with our table and made us feel welcomed as first customers. I had no idea that you are allowed to order one entree and take home another. The look on the face of my sister and I was priceless. Had the Taylor Baked Ziti and today will have the Spaghetti and meat balls lol. Great experience in the Arden area for Italian dining! Woo hoo!

Hubby and I were at mall shipping for his bday. Got a little hungry and decided to stop in for some lunch. The place has a great ambiance, very clean and friendly hostesses. We got seated and greeted immediately. I opted for the chicken Caprese salad and hubby got the steak sandwich. Hubby loved his sandwich, and the salad was bomb! Perfectly dressed and the balsamic wasn't strong like most Italian salads I have. One of the managers came to check on us at the end of the meal and suggestion we try the cheesecake because it was the best! We were full from lunch so decided to grab a piece to go for after dinner. They brought it back to the table and said it was on the house! That was super nice of them, already had my card out to pay for it too! Don't be thrown off by this place being a mall location! It's amazing! We will be back with our spaghetti lovin boys!

Ambience: 4 stars. Perfect mix of old world Italian comfort with a touch of American modern elegance. Classy without feeling stuffy. Service: 5 stars. Our server Beth was phenomenal and brought us out an adorable free dessert. She was quick and very knowledgable about the menu. Food: 4 stars .Very fresh, nothing here is premade and you can taste the difference. I tried the mushroom ravioli which was rich enough for two meals. They have a special deal right now that sends you home with even more pasta. For that I had to give them an all-around 5. Bevs: Signature house red wine blend was amazing. Hurry up and get your classy carb fix before the Arden area ratchets take over.

Terrible experience. Came in to sit outside, there was a open clean table and still was not sat. Two separate parties were sat before us. When finally sat, did not get greeted, asked if we wanted waters or anything, bascially was not acknowledged by two servers and a manager. Let me remind you that there are ONLY FOUR tables on the patio. Sat there for 10 minutes, and got up and left. Too bad because the menu items sounded amazing, but I guess I'll never know. If there was an issue with a shift change or whatever it may have been, just letting us know or apologizing for the wait and that they would be right with us would have been sufficient. For being a newer restaurant, you would want to make sure your customer service was up to par to ensure recurring visits and to create a good reputation RIGHT?

Went there for my daughter's birthday party. Nice place, one big open space. Really dim lighting, hard to see the menu let alone what you're eating. Thought the was really good although a bit over salted. Friendly staff.

Had lunch here and it was delicious! We had great cocktails and started with the calamari which was a good choice- perfectly cooked! Portions are huge so I had a lot of my shrimp diavolo leftover, which was flavorful and not too heavy after the fried calamari. It was a little pricey, especially for lunch- over $50 for a cocktail, splitting an appetizer, and an entree. There are less expensive options for entrees, though, if price is a concern.

The food here is neither terrible nor tasty, it's just like any chain restaurant food, it comes in large portion, it does not impress your taste buds nor does it make you want to make plan to come back soon. I was here with a group of friends and we ordered two appetizers, three entrees, and two desserts. I could've just skip the entrees altogether as the food was a bit over salted and quite boring. Desserts were good, I had cheese cake and tiramisu and the cheese cake is probably the only thing that I would order again if I return. Service is good, servers are nice and attentive. Overall, I think this place is better than Cheesecake Factory or BJ's in term of chain restaurants, but it isn't my cup of tea.

I've eaten at Maggiano's for the past 12 years, mainly in CO. Last (my birthday dinner) night was my first time at this Maggiano's and I wasn't all that impressed. Our waiter (michael) was a decent kid, he was nice and semi attentive. I'm not sure what was going on there last night with the operations, but the booth behind and in front of us, on more than one occasion had the manager come over and he took something off their bill and had to apologize for something. With that being said, I was in excellent company and we had no issues with the wait for our main course. Once the food arrived it was (roughly 30-45 min) it wasnt even hot and even they messed up the order and delayed our dinning experience even further, now the food was cold. Flavor was good for me and company, steak was cooked perfectly I will add. We had dessert, the pound cake, it was good as well. After dinner I ask Michael for the check, I place my card in the bill holder (failing to completely overlook the bill, just at the amount) saw $110 And said, "kinda pricey, but we had wine as well". Michael grabs up the check, then comes back a few minutes later and apologizes profusely, as he gave us the wrong bill. We actually owed another $30, bummer. Should have learned my lesson the first time and double checked it, because they charged us for the entree ($10) which should have been included within the dinner for two price of $39.95. Once I got that corrected by the Mgr (who was nice and apologetic about it) we tipped (well) and split to do some shopping at the mall. Later in the evening after getting home, we discovered that the 2 extra pastas they give you (included in our meal) never made it in our to go bag home. I've never experienced this type of service from Maggiano's before, hence my over trust with the bill and to go boxes/bag home. The staff was not overly customer service friendly, like the one in Colorado we frequented regularly, nor was the ambiance the same. I know there are always mishaps here and there, but after adding up all the issues we had, the tables around getting money taken off their bills I/we wont be going back to this one at Arden. My wife tells me the one at Santana Row in the bay area is much better and we will go there for her birthday dinner. Fact is, the place wasn't even busy last night, it was less than 1/2 full, it was just us two at our table and they still had all those issues. In a nut shell, I have always enjoyed Maggiano's and have and will continue to recommend it, unfortunately, just not this one.

Good food, reasonable prove. I like that they offer lughter version of majority of the food they serve on the menu. Simple decorations that makes it look and feel the American Italian ambiance. Michael our server is very nice.

I was so delighted to have lunch here. There really isn't anything I can complain about. Prices are very reasonable for the portions they offer. Our server was Beth, she was so kind and incredible attentive. The restaurant was very well kept and clean. All of the staff was professional and the food was delicious. I will definitely be back soon.

I really like the atmosphere of the restaurant. The only downside was that things were a bit slow because today is a Sunday and they ran out of a lot of things that my group wanted to order. This restaurant is still very good and I highly recommend going if you haven't tried it yet. If you love Italian food, this is the place to go!

Was first introduced to this establishment during a Christmas work gathering and since then I found a restaurant that truly treats their customers like family. Since my first visit I have introduced my own family of which they were also completely impressed with the service. For example, a few of my relatives have special nutritional needs which limits of what they cannot consume. Our waitress of which alerted the chef and he made a special appearance to our table to provide full disclosure of the menu and what recommendations that would suit their needs. I highly recommend this restaurant to others who absolutely enjoy stellar customer service and unforgettable Italian dishes that will not only satisfy your taste buds but will leave you completely wanting more.

When I heard about this place, I thought it was a more of an up scaled restaurant but it's kind of like a bjs. The taste of the food is a mixture of Olive Garden and bjs (the pastas). The starter bread was surprisingly good. I didn't get to taste the desserts because I actually ate everything on my plate... Plus the starter bread, I was so full. I will be back to explore the menu and especially for the desserts.

Came here last night for dinner on a whim. Literally had no clue this place existed! We waited 45 min to get seated... Not too bad compared to the 1.5 hr wait we would have had at our original pick. They send you a text to let you know when your table is ready. Our server was great & very attentive. She checked on us just enough. Our food did take a bit of a while, but they were extremely busy. When the food came, I thought the portions were perfect & everything was so tasty! Definitely better than OG. Will definitely be coming back..

Great service! Ordered manicotti with extra provolone on top. It was not as tasty as I had in the San Jose restaurant. But we had fun. The specials ran through out entire table. So glad they're in town.

Hello fellow yelpers, I had a reservation set although i had been late but was still accommodate in a timely manner which was very much appreciated. Brought my gf here for her birthday. The waiter was very knowledgeable about what we had wanted to try she did a very Good job, also seemed like she loved her job there. We got the four cheese ravioli along with mom's lasagna and flat bread. Both we're pretty good and very happy we both did not get blotted after all the food.

Pull up a chair and join me next time. It cant get anymore romantic then fresh baked bread accompanied by balsamic vinegar and pasta. Let me start off by saying i recently visited Maggiano's twice in 1 week, and as a foodie i believe this is unheard of ha-ha. But it was amazing and well let me tell you about my experience. We started off with fresh baked bread which might i tell you is to die for, super soft warm fresh bread and who can say no when they ask you if you'd like a refill. Yes please! Now for the dinne, we tried there Marco's meal for 2 at $39.99 which was great. It allows you to pick a appetizer or 2 salads, a dinner each, plus dessert. You also get to pick a take home pasta of your choice. We both had the Spinach Salad with Blue Cheese, Pine Nuts, Red Onions, Applewood-Smoked Bacon & White Balsamic Vinaigrette. Let me just say i practically wanted to lick my bowl...but that's not lady like ha-ha. For my main course i had the Mushroom Ravioli al Forno with Alfredo Sauce. It was so flavorful and light. My take home dish i ordered the Spaghetti and meatball with meat sauce which may i tell you heated up great the next day. Now for the dessert, i mean come on how can you resist the,Tiramisu with Ladyfingers Soaked in Espresso with Mascarpone Cheese. Yum!! it was hands down the best i have had. It was airy and light and perfect consistency. So the next time you are in Sacramento make sure you check out this restaurant , the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and its a great place for any type of celebration with great food!

It is hard to find an Italian restaurant that serves good, simple Italian food and, being vegetarian, has a tasty Marinara sauce (the true test). We visited Maggiano's right after it opened on a week day when it was quiet wtih great jazz playing quietly in the background. The service was top shelf, the food was a lot better than we expected, and the Chef's Special is a great value with an eat one now and get one free for later deal. By the time we returned, everyone had discovered this surprisingly good new area chain and the place was packed. However, we opted for the patio which for some reason no one was sitting out on, and it was perfect! We avoided the noise, hustle, and bustle of the crowded restaurant and got to sit and people watch as we enjoyed our meal. On both occassions we had the pleasure of meeting with managers of the restaurant. We had the opportunity to discuss their use of fresh, local, organic, and sustainably grown ingredients whenever possible and practical, and once again, for a chain their responses were impressive. The proof is in the marinara. But let's talk desserts. One word: Nonna's Toasted Pound Cake. Wow! We never had "toasted" pound cake before. Put that on a plate with caramelized bananas, vanilla bean ice-cream, drizzle it with hot fudge and you have a dessert!!! The other desserts on the menu are no slouches but how do you get past Nonna's?

This Maggiano's is new to the area. We went here for a birthday celebration and ordered sparkling wine, unfortunately our waitress was not familiar with opening up bubbly beverages and struggled a bit. I think management should train more on this if they want to sell more bottled alcohol (the big money maker). We ordered appetizers but our salads came first then our entrees. She forgot or did not write down our appetizer order. This was okay because after eating our large yummy salad we were already getting pretty full. The food is always pretty good at Maggiano's and it was exactly as expected! This particular restaurant is smaller than the one that I frequent in Santa Clara, but it is connected to the Arden Fair Mall. When you make your reservation through Open Table and say its some sort of celebration, it has been my experience that the one being celebrated always gets a complimentary dessert of some sort. The dessert provided for our birthday honoree was a bit "limp" 4 tiny lady finger cookies with a candle stick in the middle... I've seen better! I will still come here when I am in town only because I like the food and its way better than Spaghetti Factory or Bucca Di Beppo.

Had an amazing time at Maggiano's. We used Yelp do make a reservation, which is always awesome. The atmosphere was Christmas like and very romantic. My friend and I had the 2 for $35 deal and it was tons of food. They also sent us home with a dish from the choices provided (part of the deal) which I didn't realize until the very end. Such and amazing special! You gotta try the cheese cake. It was orgasmic. And I am a snob when it comes to cheesecake. I'm still dreaming about it. Can't wait to go back!

Two words, very upset. My mother gave my boyfriend and I a $50 gift card to try this new place out because she went here for a luncheon with her coworkers. My boyfriend favorite, italian. My first thoughts, a restaurant at a mall must be mediocre. 1 hour wait at 8pm. We decided to sit at the bar. Bar is small, 8 stools. $15 for a shot of Remy vsop because they ran put of hennessey. Expensive. This is not a five star restaurant to be charging $15 shots. The bartender filled the cup up with 3/4 ice for a shot of Remy on the rocks, Remy sure watered down quick. We ordered the linguine del Mar and linguine clams. I was more impressed with the flavor than I thought I would have been. FYI. 38 minutes at the bar, we got a txt message informing us our tables ready being quoted for an hour. Cool idea on that part. We requested to be sat at a table so that we are more comfortable because people kept crowding behind us ordering drinks, we were denied due to having ordered food already. If you want a table, don't order food. Bill came to $58. Half way in to our pastas with all the shellfish in it, our shell bowl was taken away by a rude server. He was a lot older and caucasion. We were clearly not done with our plate of pasta and shells that needed somewhere to be put. He never came back with an empty bowl but instead, we feel he did it on purpose. He looked at my boyfriend and his plate before taking it, after taking it he tossed it and looked at my boyfriend again and walked away. I definitly take to Management Will. He apologized and said that he would talk to him at the end of the shift. Not sure how helpful that would be. He also offered us a gift card, but we will not be returning. I am going to gift these back to my mother. First and last visit to Maggianos. Servers as rude as that should not be serving..

Amazing Great price Best Italian food Way better than Johnny carinos Got the two person deal, comes with an appetizer 2 main courses desert and 2 main courses to take home Best bread ever it's Italian sourdough perfect in the inside warm and fluffy and a perfectly chewy on the outside with a nice crisp crust. 50 bucks including drinks and tips and amazing food for the whole next day. Atmosphere was great the decorations and coloring of wood and furniture is beautiful. Sat outside in the small patio area, a little weird because there are glass walls so you can see shoppers walking next to you. 5/5 will go back many times

I'm a huge fan of Olive Garden, and I eat there pretty often with my family; so it was hard for me to compare the two restaurants, but Maggiano's definitely holds a special place in my heart. We went to Maggiano's on a Saturday at around 7:30 and we had to wait over 40 minutes for a table. I understand that the wait was so long because the place was very crowded at the time. This was my first time at Maggiano's so seeing a lot of people there made me hopeful for the food. Once we sat down I first noticed the room was surprisingly very dark, but I liked the dim lighting; it reminded me of a Hollister store. The lighting really set a nice vibe. It took a while for our server to come, but her friendly attitude made up for the wait. She quickly took our orders without rushing us, even though the restaurant was busy. The bread they served was warm and crunchy on the outside, it was clear it had come straight from the oven, and it just had the perfect texture of bread. Although the bread was beautiful and was so warm, it was a little plain, but it was fine when I dipped it into the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread went quick, and we kept on asking for more. We ordered the Margherita Flatbread appetizer. It had the perfect ratio to tomato sauce to cheese. Not only did the flatbread look visually appealing but it was extremely appetizing. For the main course I ordered "Our Famous rigatoni 'D' ". The pasta was good, but it really wasn't memorable. As part of my "dinner deal" I was able to choose another pasta to take home. I chose the alfredo. Along with the pasta was a complimentary meatball. It wasn't just you average meatball, it was huge; almost the size of a tennis ball. Olive Garden will forever be my favorite Italian restaurant, but Maggiano's is definitely a close runner-up.

I do not ever go to chain restaurants and I am well aware that this is not authentic Italian so I wasn't expecting that. This is Olive Garden in disguise! We went for lunch it was $65 for 2 people. We don't mind spending money on good food but for that price we can go to Biba or SF. Service was so, so slow and it wasn't crowded. The food was just so not good. Not fresh at all and very basic flavors. I had a sald that was wilted and drowning in oil. Why do people associate getting their monies worth with large portions? I think promoting quantity over quality at chain restaurants is disgusting and this place is no different. This is a typical chain with a cheap suit on. I'm mad at myself for thinking it was different.

Maggiano's Little Italy just opened a new spot in Arden Fair Mall. This family styled restaurant has a big and comfortable feel. I am a fan of Maggiano's due to their eat one now and take one home deal. I ordered a lighter side Alfredo with chicken and asparagus which is super fresh and filling. They also provide bread, olive oil and vinegar before your meal and I was super full and satisfied when leaving. Their service and waiters are amazing and SUPER nice! I mean super nice! I may have spent an extra 40 minutes talking to the waitress about elephants. (Haha) Tasty Tip: Always go for the classic pastas to get the take home deal. ALSO, sign up for their emails and you will get coupons every month! What a deal!

I just wanted to post a quick review about a relatively new restaurant in the Arden area called Maggiano's. This is a beautiful restaurant filled with a really great staff. We had the pleasure of being served by Amanda Mitchell this evening. She truly gets it! she provided me with the best service and best menu knowledge I've had in a very long time. Amanda is definitely an asset to this company and I just want to give her a big pat on the back and a great big thank you for taking care of us as well as she did. If you have never eaten here do yourself a favor The food is top notch and the service is the best around.

Walked in for lunch on Sunday and they had a table ready for us right away. The Holiday classics menu was nice because it came with a choice of a second take home entree from their pasta selection. I ordered the Tuscan chicken sausage soup with Lobster & Fontina al Forno. The soup was ok but a bit bland, nothing about it made the soup stand out. The lobster dish wasn't bad either but the lobster chunks seemed few and far between with too much cheese and too many shell macaroni. Overall, the food tasted ok but I was expecting a little bit higher quality. Macaroni Grill would give Maggiano's a run for it's money based on my visit. The ambiance and decor is acceptable and the waitress was helpful and served us well. I can't say anything negative about it but it never won over anyone at our table.

Pretty good experience! The food was yummy, plenty to go around. They give you an EXTRA pasta to take home at no additional charge. Michael was our server, he was very nice grabbing us samples of different wines etc. I will say that he was a bit overwhelmed and thats probably because he had tables spread out around the restaurant. The food was very good but the alcoholic drinks, not so good. We will be back but I think we will pass on the martinis and cocktails.

I just experienced my first dinner at Maggiano's Little Italy. It was fantastic! I took my mom here to celebrate her birthday. First off, it was a Saturday night and pretty busy. However the hostesses said that their system can TEXT us when our table is ready. How cool is that?!? We could go shopping at the mall next door while we wait! Once we got our table, our waitress was very patient while explaining the "2 meals for $40" special. There were so many options and she was very patient and helpful the whole 5+ minutes it took us to order everything. We chose 2 chopped salads for our appetizer. (Super yummy!) Mom chose spaghetti & meatballs for her entree AND ALSO ziti pasta for her meal to-go. (Yes--we get to choose one meal for now and ANOTHER to-go!!!) I chose mushroom ravioli for my entree AND fettuccine alfredo lite for my meal to-go. THEN we got cheesecake for desert. All of this food was give to us for $40 total. Amazing. So worth the wait!!

Loved the food... Every thing was great.... One huge liability problem for the owner though... Me and my date ordered 5 drinks each... 5 lemon drops for me and 5 cosmos for her and not once did either of us get carded.... That could be a big issue for the owner if wait staff cannot be professionally courteous of their boss and laws to obide by in the food industry... Unprofessional if you ask me....i think an employer deserves more respect than that from their waitstaff. am only 22 years old and my date was 21. Other than that .. This places food is phenomenal... a little pricey but worth it

We were excited to eat at Maggiano's on its opening night here in our home town. It's our son's 4th birthday, and we though this would be a good place to celebrate. But they were just not ready to open to the public tonight. We have 2 small kids in tote. We ordered a large chopped salad to start (we asked for the blue cheese on the side), Chicken Parmesan for me, Chicken Piccata for my wife, and kids grilled chicken dinner for our older toddler son. We ordered another kids spaghetti and meat ball meal to go, as our younger child was asleep in the stroller during the entire dinner and would want to eat it later. 1. My wife doesn't like sauces made with wine, but our waitress assured my wife that any sauce that is usually made with wine could be made without the wine, since "all sauces are made to order" in their "scratch kitchen." So, my wife ordered the Chicken Piccata, which is usually made with white wine. The chef then comes to our table and explains that the broth for the piccata sauce is pre-mixed with wine, and that he could *try* to make a different sauce, but he seemed *really uncomfortable* with that idea. After discussing it with him, we asked him to just make it the normal way. He seemed really relieved. Why did the waitress say the chef could easily make it without the wine?? We would have just ordered something else (like lasagna) were it not for her strong assurances. But by then, the food orders were in and the meals would not have been done at the same time. 2. Our chopped salad came out with the blue cheese mixed in, despite our specific request to bring it on the side. After fiasco #1 above, we just decided to 'leave it be' and ate it with the blue cheese. 3. Our son's kids meal comes with an included beverage (choice of milk, soda, juice). We specified milk. At the end of the meal we noticed that no beverage ever arrived. 4. Our son's kids meal comes with an included dessert (lemon cookie or vanilla ice cream). After pointing out to her that the meal included a dessert, she agreed, and we chose ice cream. The server was really nice and put a lit candle in it for him. She also managed to add an extra charge on the final bill for the ice cream. She amended this charge after I pointed out that the ice cream was included. She acted like she knew that, and it was someone else's mistake. A simple "oops, sorry about that" is much better. 5. Our second child's to-go kids spaghetti was never made, though it did find its way onto our final bill. We had the waitress remove this charge as well, as we didn't want to wait for them to make and package another meal at this point. Again, no "oops, sorry I didn't prepare and package that for you." Instead, she said, "I was about to get that for you." Really? you packaged our leftovers, brought the bill, ran our card, then we pointed out the error which you then fixed. And you were "about to get that" other meal? I'm pretty sure you forgot all about it, missy. Next time just say, "oops, sorry I didn't prepare and package that for you." Taking a little personal responsibility goes a really long way. 6. The "President" of Maggiano's, a nicely dressed and courteous man named Steve, came by our table to make sure all was well. Our toddler son clumsily dropped his fork on the ground right in front of him. President Steve kindly picked up the fork and *returned it to our 4-year old*, who promptly put the soiled fork in his mouth. We weren't sure what to think of this: a mix of "thank you" and "you must not have kids." We would have been even more grateful for a fresh fork, Steve. The food: delicious. The intentions of the staff: good. Apologies for their comedy of errors: none. Readiness for a grand opening: not yet. Wait a few months and they'll hopefully work out the kinks in their system.

Been here 3 times and the service was terrible. It is near next to impossible to get water or balsamic vinegar. Who knows the issue. On 2 of the 3 times we came, the place was less than half full. Service is slow slow slow. But there is no shortage of people walking by your table and ignoring you, averting their eyes as you try to signal for someone's attention. The level of expertise seems non existent, do they grab people off the street who have never waited tables and/or have no idea the etiquette needed when serving people. The food is marginal. In addition all 3 times our food was obviously left sitting around too long before bringing it to our table. Not impressed with the lasagna at all. Fettuccine is dry and barely sauced. The mussels on one occasion was over salted and instead of redoing the dish they added more sauce? It was still too salty. The concept is great. The decor is nice. It seems they are trying for upscale classy etc. But what you get is anything but that. We get better service at in and out burgers. 3 strikes and we are out for good.

Came here for a friend's birthday dinner one evening and got to try this place out for the first time. Considering it's new and only location in the Sacramento area, this place is a mad house when it comes to dinner hour. Luckily, reservations were made so I was happy to skip the waiting. For about $30 a person, you and your party can indulge in an all-you-can-eat dinner which includes appetizers, main course entrees along with dessert. (However, dessert is not included in the all-you-can-eat deal.) Our party of 15 ordered calamari, mussels and caprese salad to start off with for our appetizers. I swear we had our waitress refill our appetizers about 5 times, I kid you not. The calamari was very good; crunchy and just the perfect amount of pepper added in -- exactly how I like my calamari! The mussels were mediocre, didn't really care too much for it considering I had about 4-5 pieces. The caprese salad was my least favorite. It was my first time trying out this type of salad and I am definitely not a fan. It's just...way too cheesy for me. The main entrees which were mainly all pasta dishes were overall very good. I can't remember all the dishes we ordered but what I do remember was the steak dish being WAY too salty. My husband ate a piece and spit it back out immediately. I thought to myself...nah, it can't be THAT salty. Took a bite myself and had to spit it back out instantly also! Anyway, by the time we were ready to order dessert, I was WAY too full. We ended up ordering their brownies and cheesecake. Both super delicious! Brownies were served warm with a side of Vanilla ice cream. I'm not a brownie fan at all, but I definitely ate about 5 pieces here! :) The vanilla ice cream tasted a bit off. It wasn't very creamy and the vanilla flavoring wasn't very strong. The cheesecake dish comes with 3 massive slices; good enough to share between 6-8 people! This Italian chain is great! Service was fantastic. Parking is shared with the Arden Fair Mall lot, so it may be hard to find a parking spot during the holiday season! I would recommend for everyone to at least come and try this place out!

Wow a great lunch. They opened in September. The food was fresh, piping hot and delicious. Our server Kyla was fantastic. Lunch menu prices were affordable too. Love the decor.

First time trying this place and they really brought a great dining experience. First off the deal: Any appetizer on the menu, 2 pastas (limited to a selection, still good but not the specialty pastas), any dessert on the menu, PLUS 2 additional pastas to take home all for 40 bucks. Service was exceptional for a chain restaurant. It was really busy and you could see it. Most of the time restaurants that busy will have a hard time acknowledging you or get to you. However right when we got there more than one server came and let us know they would be with us shortly. We felt right at home the moment we got there, and our server was on point. Described the history and purpose of the restaurant giving us a interesting background on the food and how its prepared which made us aware of the good quality. Food was on point as well, everything perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert we had the NY Cheesecake and I must say it was the best cheesecake that I have had in Sacramento. Perfect balance between sweet and tang, and the strawberry sauce and strawberries were fresh and delicious. Had food for lunch tomorrow this place will feed you for 2 days.

I could go either way on this place. It was decent. We came here for a light lunch- ordered Caesar salads with shrimp and salmon that wasn't extremely expensive but wasn't really on the cheap side either - $15 for a salad with 5 or 6 grilled shrimp? My bf ordered a beer and I ordered a raspberry iced tea. Our server informed me they were out of raspberry and that they could make me a pomegranate tea instead. Okay no problem. 10 minutes later he came back and said they were out of pomegranate flavor but he could make me a peach tea. Ok fine. Another several minutes went by and he informed me that peach was also gone, as well as every single other flavor that they could put in a tea (strange as they have a full bar and it was mid day on a Tuesday or Wednesday, not even a peak busy time. How would they make cocktails?). Eh. Plain tea it was. There was nothing that made this place stand out to me so we probably will not be back,

I really wanted to love this place! Maggianos in San Jose is my favorite Italian place and I've driven out there a few times because it's that good. I expected the same in Sacramento but was sadly disappointed. Let me start by saying this was a get together for me and 12 close friends. We had a concert to go to at 8 downtown and I specifically made reservations for two tables so we wouldn't be stuck with 1 waitress. We arrived at 6:15 for our reservation and sat down at 6:25. About half of the group wanted to do the family style meal and the other half was not so hungry. It specifically says on the menu that family style is for parties of 4 or more. We all figured out what we wanted and then when we are ready to place our order the waitress tells us that we can only do family style if all people in the party do it (yes both tables with 13 people). This is definitely not the policy in San Jose. Since not everyone wanted to do family style we had to drop that idea and figure out again what everyone wanted on the regular menu. 6:45 pm we ordered. 7:15 our appetizers came out. All was good there. Good salads and calamari. 7:45 came around and no entrees. We watched people who came in after us finish eating and packing up to leave. The waiter said our food was coming out next. We waited. 8:00 and the other waitress said she just put in our food order 10-12 minutes ago and it's coming out. At this point everyone at the table is upset and wanting to just leave. 8:15 we get our food. This is where it really gets bad. Ziti pasta noodles were hard. The sausage soup was so salty my husband took one bite and told the waiter he couldn't eat it and he just sent it back. I tried it and it tasted like the chef dumped the salt shaker into the soup. My friends got the salmon. The chef must have forgot to clean the grill because big pieces of char were all over the fish. My friend said all he could taste was char. He said he's never sent food back in his life but did this time. My other friend got the flat bread pizza and it was cold. Cheese had already hardened up cold. She ate a couple pieces and didn't complain because she saw how much everyone else was dissatisfied. For my friends at the other table - they brought out 2 wrong orders, 2 cold plates, and the eggplant was like mush. My friend said he didn't want to eat it so they took it back. Manager gave us 40% off the bill but by time we got the bill at 8:40 all of our bills included all of the items that people had sent back! Half the people had it fixed and the other half said screw it I'm not going to wait another 15 minutes to get this fixed because they didn't want to miss more of the concert. Even after the discount some people ended up paying more because they were charged for meals they had sent back. I had high hopes and really pumped up all of my friends about going to eat here. I have been waiting for them to open for months. All night I continued to get crap (light heartedly) from everyone about the worst dining expense they had ever had. I don't know how so many aspects of this "experience" could have gone awry but most everything was bad (except for the drinks and appetizers). I think sadly I'll have to continue going to San Jose for the great food and service because it's definitely not here in Sacramento!

I went to the Maggianos in LA at The Grove for my first time, so I was excited to see that Maggianos was coming up to Sacramento! I decided to come here for a late birthday celebration for myself with a couple friends. We arrived at 8:15pm, and were seated at around 8:25pm. A waitress served us (I don't know her name). She was the only reason why I took a star off. I knew it was close to closing, so people start getting tired, but she was a little snappy at us. I don't know if that's how she usually talks, but I wasn't having it. My friend and I shared to get the Marco's meal for two. We got the zucchini as the appetizer which comes with lemon and aioli... SO GOOD!!! They give you big portions too. My friend and I got the lasagna for our in house meal. For dessert, we chose the cheesecake. It was so light and fluffy; I would go back just to order the cheesecake! We both wanted the spaghetti and meat balls to take home. The entire meal after tax came out to 47 bucks or so. For the amount you get, it's definitely a steal! One more thing; my friend got the fettuccine Alfredo thinking "it's not gonna be more boring and plain compared to spaghetti and meatballs... But they literally only have Alfredo sauce. If you want something more colorful, choose something else. He didn't think it tasted that great either. Overall, love this place!

What a wonderful addition to Sacramento's Italian dining options!! We went in on Thursday evening for late dinner - round 9pm, and sat in the bar. The servers couldnt have been more gracious and gregarious - the food suggestions perfect - and the presentation and flavors - WONDERFUL!! We chose an AMAZING fixed price dinner for two which included: an appetizer, 2 salads, 2 entrees, a desert.... AND (here's the crazy bonus): 2 MORE ENTREES TO TAKE WITH YOU TO GO! all for $39.00. The zucchini appetizer was lightly breaded, fried to a perfect crispness, with the zucchini still tender without being soggy. The salads were crisp and fresh (I LOVED the Chopped Salad) - Our pasta entrees (spaghetti and meatballs; pork sausage ziti) were zesty, rich and flavorful. Well too much for even the 3 of us to eat in one sitting. Additionally, out came a big to-go bag with 2 more entrees packaged in it (a chicken sausage pasta, and an eggplant lasagne : omgawesome good!) for later). The chef did rounds to each table and couldnt have been more engaged and charming - suggesting favorite selections for our desserts. All in all an evening of great food and fun..... and bonus... more good food ahead - they just took a couple nights stress of "what should I cook tonight?" easy and done! We'll DEFINITELY be back.

Was really expecting something much better. $100 for 3 people for dinner, 2 drinks and 0 appetizers. Nothing special. Still think Macaroni Grill is better. Not our Server but the Server to other customers that surrounded us was EXTREMELY talkative. Boarder line annoying. The quantity of food was perhaps a bit more than most but I prefer quality everytime. I also don't like 18% gratuity thrown in my face. I'll tip according to my service.

I was in this area to get Lego stuff again and remembered coming here a while back (pre-yelping & smart phone days- it didn't help when it's buried in the bag). i had a very nice lunch with a large glass of red then. this time, I tried the smaller portion of Noblio sauvignon blanc from down under with the season's specials (the lobster in a fondue sauce)( and the seared scallops with the Mediterranean salad)(there was faro in it (o: ). the waiter recommended these and he was correct. and then he recommended the chocolate zuotti (not sure of the correct spelling) which were basically mousse in a truffle ball (smaller portion). they tasted better in the evening's heat (it soften the mousse) (when cold it tasted more like a brownie). I shall be back here.

Celebrated a friend's birthday on a Friday night - we had a table for 8. The place is NOISY so you can't hear each other at a large table. The best deal is 2 entrees, an appetizer and dessert for 2 for $40. That also includes a second entrée for each person to take home. The portions are large. Fried calamari appetizer and zucchini sticks were delicious! The fried mozzarella squares were extremely rich. The chicken alfredo pasta and lasagna are my favorites. And the bread is warm and fresh, served with balsamic vinegar and oil. The tiramisu was light and tasty. Staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend this restaurant but go at a less busy time if you want to have a conversation.

This is hands down one of my top 3 favorite Italian restaurants in Sacramento. The service is impeccable and the food is incredible, all fresh ingredients, prepared to perfection. I highly recommend the "Rigatoni 'D'"- herb roasted chicken, mushrooms, carmelized onions & Marsala sauce. If you splurge for dessert, share the ultra creamy cheesecake w/ blueberries and a strawberry sauce that takes 12-13 hours to prepare w/ a fellow diner. Trust me, it's well worth every calorie ridden bite.

Talk about over priced pasta - this is it! I went with a group that had picked this place, so felt like I had to stay. If I had been on my own, I would have left. At least at Olive Garden your dinner comes with a salad and bread sticks. This place brought us a tiny basket of bread. Enough for each of the nine people at our table to have one. I was unimpressed. Food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. And it was so dark at the table that my mother couldn't read her menu. I won't be going back anytime soon!

Do make reservations for dinner. We were seated right away in a nice booth for 4 people. Our server was nice but needs training. We had to ask several times for water and she rambled maybe because she was nervous. Wine and drinks were timely. Entrees came out too soon after the salad was served. Food is good not great. Not a lot of attention to detail but Im not sure that is a fair expectation for a chain restaurant. We will be back most likely for lunch during a mall shopping day. It is definitely a better alternative to BJ's Brewhouse.

First time trying this place out and it has exceeded my expectations. The meal for two was an awesome deal. I was hesitant to order that special thinking that it might be too good of a deal. For $40, you get an appetizer, two pastas, and a dessert. That's not the end of this deal but you also get two more pasta to take home. I am sold!! All the dishes were awesome! Can't wait to go back and savor on the rest of other entrees.

This Maggiano's has horrible service. After going to other locations of Maggiano's restuarants, which I loved, I was very excited for this location to open. However, I have now gone three separate times and have received terrible service each and every time. To start, I have sat at my table for longer than 5, once even longer than 10 minutes, before a server noticed us and came to get drink orders. We had ordered an appetizer, which was taking forever - when our waitress went to check on it, she returned to our table with all of our food. Kind of defeats the purpose of ordering an appetizer if they bring it out with your entree... To top it all off, my entree of the chicken sausage flatbread was totally cold, and the croutons in the soup were completely soggy and gross. I won't be going back to this Maggiano's location any time soon.

I was super polite, yet ended up waiting for my appetizer for an hour and a half and still waiting, reminded my waiter a couple times, no help. Definitely don't come here if you don't have hours to waste. Also haven't been offered a refill yet either..

I went for lunch with friends and had the eggplant parmesan. It was delish and I had plenty to take home. The classic favorites menu lets you order one dish and get a second to take home all for one price. The service was quick, friendly and unobtrusive--just what I like. I visited a second time with my spouse and had the mussels which were perfectly prepared. Even the inclusion of sun-dried tomatoes could not detract from the plump, tender mussels and excellent broth. I will definitely have this again.

My wife and I had dinner at Maggiano's last night and really enjoyed it. We started with salads which were excellent and the main courses were delicious and plentiful. I ordered the linguini and claims which was very good. My only suggestion is for the chef to back off on the canned clams and double up on the fresh clams. I realize this is a chain restaurant and the likelihood of changes in the menu is poor, however, in spite of this the dish was very good. My wife ordered the Chicken Piccata which she enjoyed very much. We finished the evening with Tiramisu, also very good. Our server, Beth, was extremely attentive, pleasant and fast. They also have a pasta special which is a great deal if you're on a budget. You order a pasta dinner (around $12.95) and when you're finished with your meal, they bring you another complete pasta dinner to go for no additional charge. We'll definitely come back soon.

First time here for dinner with a group of 8 adults and 5 kids. Parking at Arden was a nightmare given that it's holiday shopping season. Once inside, we were seated because we had reservations. However, just our luck the fire alarm goes off. Yes, blinking lights and noise. We were told it was a series of false alarms that day. Food came out at a good time. Waitresses were very nice. I ordered the Linguini and Clams. My kids had flat bread pizza and breaded chicken. My husband had salmon. Entrees are HUGE but for the price you pay, it's fair. My dish was a little too rich for me (the white sauce) but it was fine. We had tons of leftovers because how can anyone eat an entire entree? Lol Overall food tastes fine, but I don't think I'll return. I think I'll stick to Olive Garden. ;)

I really wanted to love this place but unfortunately for me they just fell a little short of what I was expecting. The place was beautiful and service was great but the food for me was just not great the portions were huge but quality comparable to old spaghetti factory. I don't want to bash the place but I was just expecting better food. 3.5 stars, even Olive Garden at least has fresh Parmesan

My boyfriend and I went to dinner here for our first time and it was amazing! Our waiter, Loc, was awesome and provided great service. He was always checking us and food was quick! My boyfriend ordered the lasagna and I ordered the lobster carbonara. We shared the calamari for appetizers and it was delicious. I love that they have the "buy one and take one home deal" it really is an amazing deal! Can't wait to come back here!

My wife and I came here on a Thursday night. Not busy at all, we got seated right away. 1st hiccup, we waited for 30 minutes for our bread, turns out they gave it to the wrong table. Next, we got our appetizers the same time as our entrees. The point of appetizers to eat it BEFORE the main entrees so that is really annoying to have to eat everything served to you at once. Lastly, we ordered dessert and after waiting roughly 45 minutes later...still no dessert arrived. Waiter kept telling us it was almost ready and come to find out it was never made. Since we had plans after dinner we just said forget it give us our check. Overall the food was decent but the timely and efficiency for service killed the experience for us. For now most likely won't be coming back. Also, food in my opinion was overpriced for the quality you get

Walked inside This place yesterday night and the three girls who were at the front counter didn't even greet us. Then when we got to the counter they didn't even try to help us out.. They acted like we weren't even there! The three girls that were there were really rude.. Especially the one in the middle that wore glasses.. She was sure to say with a rude tone that they were a " reservation only" restaurant. Total waste of time. And I wouldn't even give it a star if yelp didn't make me!

  • Laurie W.

So our food finally came and it was so worth the wait! Mom got the lobster carbonara and I got the chicken piccata. Servings were large, the lobster was fresh and tender, not over cooked like some chain seafood places. I'm calling you out Red Lobster. The staff was very attentive for such a busy night. It was a bit pricey for a spur of the moment choice. $110 for 2. We'll definitely be back. Mom is from San Francisco and it gave her that old home feeling. They play Frank Sinatra in the back ground which gives it that authentic feel. If you want to impress a date this is the place.

Level of service was terribly inadequate and dissappointing. I'm used to much better service then this! Went to celebrate the good news of finding out we were pregnant but we had an extremely inattentive server named Amanda who ruined the evening. Very awkward greeting when she walked up to the table, just looked at us and then asked us if we wanted menus instead of just giving them to us...'of course we want menus!' as if we were just going to guess what we wanted to order off the top of our heads. ..which was the first weird thing...but, that was far from the most awkward moment: 1. She gave us wrong information right off the bat about the dish my husband ordered, telling him that he would get one for there and one frozen dish to take home and we didn't. I realized that she just did not explain that correctly from the beginning and i knew my husbands dish was not one that you got a free entree with but strangely she never even came back to explain that she made an error and that we wouldn't be getting a dish to take home. She just tried to act like nothing was wrong. Weird! 2. There was a black thing floating in hubbies drink, so when bartender immediately remade it, Amanda passed by it 2 times and finally bartender must have felt bad so he came around and delivered it...we never got an apology from anyone for the gross thing floating in the drink. 3. She got extremely short and rude when I ordered shrimp scampi and it was but a minute later I changed my entree to shrimp diavolo..really didn't take her but one second to make the change because our entrees hadn't even been started yet...but if course at the end of the night she still tried to charge us for both of the dishes! That's just bad and sloppy service for not realizing that she had made that error. 4. Never offered me a refill or asked if I would like anything else to drink, and passed by my empty glass several times, finally I asked for water because I was so thirsty, which she came and slammed down on the table, with no straw..she actually watched me take my straw from the other Empty cup so I could drink the water....I think servers should always offer straws, especially if they see that the customer is having to use a straw from a previous dirty cup on on the table. 4. She was very short, awkward, didn't engage us at all, even though she had already made several errors...I did notice that she was trying to engage other tables with conversation but not us for some strange reason. 5. When she did finally come around at the end of the night to ask if we needed boxes, I was so ready to get the hell out of there!we've never left a restaurant without tipping and anyone who knows us, knows that we are VERY gracious tippers, but tonight was a total screw up, the only reason we gave 1 star is because the food was pretty good but it is so disappointing when inadequate sloppy service ruins your dining experience! Unfortunate!

Talk about a major disappointment. Went for a birthday party of 14 on April 24th and there were so many failures it was embarrassing. First, it was a LONG wait for drinks. Second- our waitress was HORRIBLE! Two of our orders were wrong and when we politely pointed it out to her, she got an attitude! Third- One order never even came out and we had to ask another waitress about where it was. Fourth- The birthday girls dinner had a hair in it which she ate. Fifth- Our Waitress never refilled our waters or asked us how everything was. Everyone in our party was soooooo disappointed with their meals. Finally to top it off, they bought out a quarter size (no exaggeration) area of cake for the birthday girl. Not kidding when I say the candle was bigger than the portion of cake! Not a good restaurant at all. WILL NOT RETURN and will spread the word.

First time going to Maggiano's and it was amazing. Reeti and Beth were our servers and their customer service was exceptional. Our food was delayed due to a mix up in the kitchen, but the way Reeti and Beth handled it made us over look the wait and still give our dinner experience a perfect score. The food was full of flavor and had great portions. I would recommend this place to all of my friends and family. Its prices are mid-high, but worth every penny. Again our servers gave exceptional customer service and that alone would make me go back.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place after I had won a gift card from my work! The service was wonderful! Our server was so funny and polite and extremely helpful. My only issue was that I happened to get food poisoning. Now I'm not saying it was from this place because my mom got the same illness as me, as the same time, and she didn't eat at this restaurant. But it's possible. I really did enjoy this place and I would definitely come here again!

I work at Kaiser across the street so I come here for lunch often. The food is always delish and for a reasonable price. One time they gave me the wrong order, I had to go back and would be late clocking back in for lunch, but they were so apologetic and comped my order for the inconvenience I couldn't even be upset. Overall I'm impressed by their impeccable customer service and good food.

My wife & I decided to dine this Italian restaurant here in Sacramento at Arden fair for lunch. While the food was good that's not what bothered me. Noticed our waiter Jim serving us had dirty fingernails. Ok , I've worked in construction, oil rigging and so hands being dirty isn't such a big deal. But in a restaurant environment you should be clean. Went about eating my food, paid the bill and decide to go use the restroom. I walk in 5 seconds behind my waiter who is using one of two open stalls and I decide to go into the stall with the door. No sooner did I lock the door I heard another door open and close. I stop in mid turn and said "he didn't do what I think he did?". I immediately open the door expecting him washing his hands and another person in there. No, he was gone. I almost blew a lid following him out the bathroom. Jim didn't wash his hands!!! I had a feeling about him from the beginning but my wife said don't make a big deal of his dirty fingernails. I talked to the manager as I was livid. This is the most vile display of disregard for sanitary practice I have personally witnessed. This waiter will spread e coli eventually.Good luck with him Being objective I'd give 3 stars for food.

Pleasantly surprised! Came here for a birthday celebration, and all ten of us had a great experience. The food was solid, and the customer service was great. I personally ordered the Lighter Take Baked Ziti, and it was delightful. I shall come back and try some of their other food items.

As expected, Maggiano's did not disappoint! We had the steamed mussels and calamari, it was delicious. We also had the filet mignon, lobster carbonara, steak and chicken parm. Each dish was more than enough (we could've shared) and was cooked to perfection. We have no complaints and will for sure be visiting again hopefully soon! Great restaurant for the kiddos.

Pros: signature rigatoni "d" is good Cons: poor customer service My friends and I had to wait first for our appetizer, the calamari. Our server, jessica, apologized that our appetizer was served to a different table. So we had to wait again. Then we had to wait 45min for our main course, the signature pasta dishes. This happened on a 7:30pm friday night. Oct 17, 2014. Service takes FOREVER and our server was almost nowhere in sight 90% of the time. Sad mom's night out. I give them 2 stars for good food. But nothing more than that.

I love Maggiano's! Everything about it, I love. From the ambiance to the large portions, this place is amazing. I went to the one at Santana Row a super long time ago, like when I was little and remember it just being sooo good. So when I heard there was a Maggiano's opening close to me I was so excited! I went with a huge group of people and we all kind of shared food so I'll review the ones I remember! -Shrimp scampi- there was probably 20 shrimps on my plate so kudos to them for not being stingy. There were barely any noodles and the sauce was nothing too memorable. Still delicious though -Fried calamari- perfect ratio of squid to batter. With a little squeeze of lemon the combination with the marinara sauce was so good. You definitely can't go wrong with calamari anywhere -Fried zucchini- IT WAS SO BIG! They cut the zucchini length wise so you get these longs strips of fried deliciousness on your plate. They're topped with parmesan cheese and a side of ranch. Ughhh I love this appetizer, I even got my boyfriend to eat some even though he hates zucchini! -Mushroom ravioli- super creamy and filling. Would definitely recommend -Mom's lasagna- cheesy and delicious. Everything you want in a lasagna -Baked ziti- simple but you can't go wrong with this dish. Overall, I would definitely recommend Maggiano's for a date night or even just a casual dinner. It's the perfect place for both!

Ordered the special dinner for two. In addition to your meal you are given two extra pasta dishes to take home. Except when we got home, the only things in the bag were the leftovers from the meal. The extra pasta dishes were missing. Other negative point was that the salad was brought out the same time as the entree. Also, dealing with Arden Fair traffic is extremely unpleasant, although not the fault of the restaurant. However, on the positive side, the food is very good. Although a very busy Saturday night, we were seated promptly .

I really like this place for the pasta but was disappointed when I ordered the veal Marsala. It was tasteless. The sauce was weak at best. Next time, I'm going to stick with the pasta dishes instead. The tiramisu was one of the best that we've had anywhere.

What a great place. They have pasta specials that are easy on the wallet. There is also a buy one and get one for tomorrow to take home free. Patio dining is for people watchers. Large open main dining room fills up fast...so ge there early. Ask for Chloe's station. She is awesome.

Happy that we finally tried this place out. I gave 4 stars because this place offers the deal of a lifetime. Choose anyone of their classic pastas and choose another to take home for FREE. Yes FREE. You can't beat that deal....we had the spinach dip, baked zitti and cheesecake. everything was good. I give my pasta 6/10 with that said not the best nor the worst...the cheesecake was to die for actually better than the Cheesecake Factory. Our waitress was really attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We would definitely return.

When you order family style menus, there was some entree with extra charge. You have to be very careful, the extra charge actually is per person. For example: You have 9 people in your party, there's one person that order an entree with $9 extra. Then your bill will be $28.95 x 9 plus $9 x9. If u have another person that order another entree with $6 extra. Then you bill with be $28.95 x 9 plus $9 x 9, plus another $6 x 9. So, you will be surprise when you see your bill. Ask your server before you order. Besides that everything was really good.

Since we first moved here in 2007 I've been on a quest for good Italian food. We seem to have everything here French, diners, all manors of Asian, but Italian seemed to be oddly missing. I then found Biba's and it's a wonderful Italian fine dining restaurant, but sometimes I want Italian in a more casual every day environment. So, the search continued. By 2014 I had given up all hope. After getting a gift card for xmas my search is over. This place is simply good, straight forward Italian food. First we started with their fried zucchini. Not to over sell, fried zucchini is fired zucchini after all, but this was better then any I'd had before. The crunch was simply amazing and I have no idea how you make any vegetable that creamy. I'd order it again, I might even crave it to a point that I'd go for it. Next up we each had the pasta speical. What amounts to lobster mac and cheese. Interestingly enough this was the low point of the meal and very very good. The sauces wasn't overpoweringly cheesy but light buttery and delicious. Lobster can easily be ruined. It goes from perfection to gross in about 2 seconds of over cooking. Here it was perfect and well present for a $20 bowl of pasta. With the special we each got a serving of pasta to take home for later. I went with the baked zeti and my wife got the mushroom ravioli. Here is where Maggino's shines. There are few things on this planet that are better then home made pasta. Maggino's pulls this off better then most other places. The ziti was well made, with excellent Italian sausage and a very subtle tomato sauce. Excellent. The ravioli was plump tasty and delicious. If I had one small complaint here it would be that the ravioli was very heavily sauced. I'd go as far as to say overly so. Their prices are fair, and if you go family style I don't see how anyone would be able to walk out of the place. I am normally not a fan of chain restaurants, but this place will be the exception for sure. I'm very please with Maggino's and I will be a customer for as long as they exist. I'm even willing to brave parking at Arden Fair to eat there. If you knew me you'd know that says a lot. PS This place take a lot of flack for being one of the least healthy restaurant chains around. This makes me laugh. I can't think of any time that I felt like eating lite and healthy and thought it would be a good idea to have a plate of carbs covered in butter and sauce. Come on people. Seriously?

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
