Great sandwiches! I've tried almost all of the sandwiches on the menu and they are all amazing. They are clearly made with a lot of skill and using the best ingredients, yet they are all reasonably priced. I go there all the time now as I am eating my way down the menu and trying their specials.

Went last week to try the burger and Vietnamese pork sandwich that were recommended in Comstock's Magazine. Both were excellent. Going back today to try something else!

My new favorite lunch spot in Sacramento. Everything on the menu is quite good. The sandwiches, pasta, and the side portions of greens, roasted potatos, quinoa...

    They only need one word--WONDERFUL

I live close and love the great quality food, but I have been very disappointed with the hours of service. I show up at 11:20 for lunch....Turned away because they open at 11:30--really? Dinner service is over at 8:30pm (in the summer mind you). Most diners are out at 9pm for dinner. The inconvenience has soured me. Obviously it's not set up for the customer.

We stopped her for lunch and had chicken pasta and eggplant sandwich. Both were delicious and made with fresh ingredients. It was a bit of a scramble to get a table but we liked being able to sit outside.

We had dinner there tonight. We split a bowl of bean soup and then shared a chicken sandwich on the warm home made bread and split a spinach salad. The spinach salad was dressed perfectly. The only criticism I had was that baby spinach leaves would have made it a tad better. The sandwich was absolutely perfect. They can cook in this place and we will return. The cost is a little higher but the food worth it. He is also a dog lover (his dog's name is Juno) and that gives him even higher marks! Oh, he closes at 8 p.m. so this is an EARLY dinner place!

Yes, the Wagyu Burger is expensive for $10 but it is EXCELLENT!!! The house salad was only OK. Service was efficient, professional, and friendly. This place was packed during lunch time. I don't understand why they picked such a tiny place to run their restaurant. People either have to get the food to go or they would have to wait for a table. I love the clienteles and the neighborhood. It is strongly recommended.

I was recommended to check out Juno's by a client and had read about the restaurant in The Bee. I was finally able to have dinner there last night and am so happy to have found another great restaurant in my neighborhood. The ambiance isn't that great, but it didn't bother me since there really isn't much to work with being that it is teeny tiny. The food is fabulous. I had the eggplant sandwich which was really tasty and my boyfriend had the salami sandwich which was equally great. I will definitely go back and am really excited to have another quality restaurant in East Sac!

The simple yet high quality ingredients comes out in every bite. Fabulous. Thank you for opening up this little slice of goodness.

Very good food and service. Reasonably priced and dog friendly complete with outdoor dog bed and water dish. Highly recommend!

I love the salads, the soups, the potatoes. Simple things become art under this chef's hands! And the cheesecake, did I mention the cheesecake?

My latest addiction is their pappardelle pasta, sautéed with shrimp, garlic, anchovy, caramelized onions and crushed red chili. I thought they had nothing to offer beyond sandwiches. Boy was I wrong. This rich, heavenly medley leaves me with the stankiest breath, but it's more than worth potentially offending anyone within close proximity. Firstly, I should mention that I LOVE garlic. I'm the guy at the baseball game who wants his garlic fries buried in piles of the stuff, to the point where the fries disappear long before the garlic does. I add a clove or two to any meal when I have the opportunity. If you share my passion for this pungent garnish, you'll share my passion for the pappardelle. It's swimming in a garlic and caramelized onion sauce and packed full of plump shrimp. If it's not obvious, this isn't good for you either. My cholesterol level goes up just thinking about it. The side of bread doesn't help either because it assures you can sop up every last bit of the sauce after the hearty stuff disappears. Take my word for it. Juno's has a menu that has yet to let me down. Add their pasta crations to a long list of personal reccomendations.

A great local spot! Great service- the lady knew most of the customers by name and was very welcoming! The shrimp Mac and cheese was incredible. Rich, cheesy, and included bread crumbs- all things a good Mac and cheese should be! Very rich and filling but even better for lunch leftovers the next day. A definite must for your lunch break- also has delicious sandwiches served with roasted potatoes.

UPDATE: they told my friend that she needs to go if she doesn't leave tips!!!! They have the best tasting food EVER! But their customer service is HORRIBLE!!! Like the rudest people EVER!!!! Next time I'll order to go so I don't have to deal with it!! Oh nvm this time they burned my food!

Updating my review because I am a believer of yelpocracy; my two cents on how this business can improve have got to be worth something: Junos is still among my favorite places for lunch or dinner to-go. It's cheap, fast, friendly, and healthy for the most part. How they can improve-- 1) Air out the kitchen. Most days it's way too smokey to be inside, even if I'm just picking up food! 2) Stop burning the meat. The pork in the banh mi is always charred (re: charred meat = cancer, hello), and I've learned to never order anything with chicken in it here because that's almost guaranteed to be burned to bits! Not only is charring not tasty, it has been proven to be absolutely bad for you. I hope this is not news to anybody, but somehow burned meat is still a major feature of Junos sandwiches. 3) Go light on your aoili! It's slathered on to the nth degree unless I ask for light aoili and even then it's still way too thick. 4) Potatoes- some are perfectly cooked, some are overcooked and dry. A little consistency goes a long way! Otherwise props to Junos for being among the few who know how to make a good sandwich in the Sacramento area. All you other sandwich shops need to start taking some notes!

Went here for the first time and Wow, what a fantastic little place. I had the Salami sandwich, nothing I usually get, but it was really good. This place is popular and warning, they do sell out. The fried Eggplant sandwich goes fast. The ingredients are fresh and well prepared... you feel like you are eating better than the preservative filled food at chain places. I highly recommend this small delicatessen in East Sac!

Great spot for a tasty and fresh made dinner. Not many tables so make sure to plan on waiting if going during a busy time. The burger is to DIE for. The pasta is delicious. We usually get one of their specials. A must try for East Sac.

Very cozy mom and pop place. Me and my sister sat outside and the waitress was very sweet. We ordered the banh mi ($10) and the seafood Mac and cheese ($15). The banh mi was very good! Basically an Americanized banh Mi. Lol. I'm used to paying $2.50 for vietnamese sandwiches so I wasn't so happy with the price, but one you go "American" it's more pricey. I have to admit though it was very tasty. My favorite dish was the seafood Mac and cheese. Huge portion with a good amount of shrimp. Creamy and cheesy. Just how I like it. Definitely a place to try. I would come back again to try everything else on the menu!

Came here for lunch on a Friday. The inside is so tiny and it was smokey because someone had burned the toast. We ran outside coughing. They had one very nice woman tending to the 4 tables outside. Overall, the food was great! Very fresh and tasty. I had the kale salad with a side of chicken. The salad was so big I just couldn't finish it. My friend had the pastrami sandwich with a side of greens and loved it. Our total was $25 w/out tip. We have nothing but good things to say about the food. The cafe is very tiny. Just 4 tables inside and 4 outside. The street is very noisy and it has tons of traffic. It's best if you just pick up food.

4.5. LOVE their smoked trout sandwich. Problem is, they're never open when I'm in town :(. So sad. Open, open, open!! Craving your delicious smoked, salty, chewy taste. Can't wait for you to open. Also loved the sautéed garlic mushrooms. Deliciousness on a plate. Parking stinks, as do their hours. But tasty food. Friend's banh mi was a little dry, leave banh mi to the Vietnamese.

Called in my order. They gave me a time to pick up (15 minutes) and it was just ready when I picked it up. Chicken sandwich was delicious! And the bread so so goooood. I wanted to pick up a fresh loaf but they were completely out (they sold out in the morning). And they are a few blocks from McKinley park so it was a perfect location for a lunchtime snack.

This place is legit!!!. Small but probably best sandwiches in Sacramento area. The lay at the front is awesome and extremely helpful. Must try and they have really good specials.

Juno's is one of the highlights of our annual trip to Lake Tahoe from socal. We discovered it on yelp the year we got iPhones, and we have gone every year since. Juno's has saved us from Sacramento being a boring lunch stop. The Banh Mi is simply amazing, but everything they make is good, and they have friendly service. Just stopped in again yesterday on the way up to Tahoe, hopefully we can stop on the way home too.

Have been passing by this place many a time and it always seems closed. Finally stopped by for a Tuesday lunch to see the place pretty much packed. It is very very small so it was practical to just order to go. Lots of enticing sandwich creations listed on the ceiling banner menu. Smiley cashier took my order and was bringing down the line quick. Got our sandwiches within 5 minutes despite the crowd. Ordered the Smoked Trout with Manchego cheese, sliced granny, aioli and a whole lot of savory deliciousness. It was so good, I know we will be returning.

Excellent sandwiches and great service! Definitely worth a try!

The sandwiches are delicious and HUGE. All sandwiches come with potatoes or a salad. Very small place, you can't really done in since there are only like 2 tiny tables. It's more of a to go spot.

The food is as good as the staff is rude. And no joke the food is memorably good. But then that means the staff was memorably bad. As in "did I just hear her say that" bad. I used to pick up food from here at least once a week. Chicken and ham sandwich that will blow your mind. But I am not a fan of mayo or other sauces on my sandwich. So when we ordered (called in for take away) I requested no mayo (I think it is technically called something else) and the woman said sure, no problem. When my wife picked up our order, she confirmed my request for no mayo. The cashier (she is older than most cashiers; maybe an owner?) said to my wife with a straight face "work with me lady. We are very busy here so you have to take it as we make it". My wife was kind of stunned, not wanting to believe she was just told by a restaurant not to ask them to severe food you pay them to prepare in a way you want it. Needless to say, despite my occasionally selfish desire for what I confess is a spectacular sandwich, we have not and will not return. I just don't care to work with her .....

This place is tiny! It looks like they also have outdoor seating that is the same size as the indoor seating, but since it's raining outside today there is no sitting or waiting outside for my food. I decided to order the Membrillo with a side of potatoes and a cup of soup and the price was around $15 total for everything I ordered. I was told it would take 8 minutes to get my to-go order, which normally would be fine, but today it felt cramped waiting inside among all the crowded tables. The table and chairs don't look too comfortable and I wouldn't want to hang out in this crowded of a space anyways. It's loud and feels cramped even waiting here for 8 minutes for this sandwich. The soup was served way too hot and I burned myself even holding the container. Maybe a good thing if you have a long drive before you plan to eat, but not if you plan to eat right away. The sandwich and potatoes were good and definitely gourmet. If you decide to come here definitely get your food to-go and don't come while it's raining. I would come back for a to-go order only if I was in the area.

In my never-ending quest to find cool stuff in Sacramento, I overlooked this place as a run of the mill deli. It is not. So far, I've tried the chicken and prosscuito and the bahn mi, and am obsessed with both. They are perfect sandwiches with just enough ingredients to make them tasty and the bread (baked onsite by the owner) is out of this world. Can't wait to make my way through the entire menu.

  • Noah C.

This is one of best places I have found in Sacramento. The service is excellent, the prices are great and food is super good! And the chefs special is usually a good surprise. Must try the kale Caesar salad with chicken.

It can be a little hard to find this restaurant, as there are no large signs indicating that JUNOS IS HERE; so keeping an eye on the doors and windows of the various establishments in the area, would be helpful in locating this place. The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side, but it gives a rustic charm to the place. The staff is very welcoming and helpful in giving recommendations about the various items on the menu. Since it was a cold and rainy day, per the waitresses' recommendation, I ordered their pastrami sandwich with a cup of their carrot and cumin soup. The carrot and cumin soup was very good. The cumin spice was present, but not overwhelmingly so. The cumin paired well with the sweetness of the carrots. It came garnished with some sun dried tomatoes and a few sprigs of arugula; but they also helped enhance the overall flavor of the soup. The pastrami sandwich was also very good. It came in a panini form, with some nice grill marks on the bread. The pastrami was very well cooked, it didn't have that greasy and heavy feeling. The stone ground mustard is reminiscent of horseradish, whose spice was very well balanced with the savoriness of the pastrami. The pickled vegetables added some tartness which gives a great amalgam of different flavors and textures. If there was one criticism, it is that there was a little bit too much mustard. A great spot to get lunch. They also have take out, so you can order the sandwich(es) you like and can pick it up later to impress your friends/coworkers with some delicious sandwiches.

I came here for lunch one random Thursday - it is a little out of the way for me, but I like a change of scenery so I said "why not?" I enjoyed a seemingly endless glass of refreshing iced tea (the server refilled it every time I took a sip!) and the special which was a Hanger Steak Sandwich with a side of potatoes - wow! It was so delicious! The bread was crusty but soft, the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the garlic aioli the perfect condiment! I sat at a table outside and simply watched the neighborhood bustle - it was very peaceful... and totally made me want to move to East Sac! I love the food, the service and the neighborhood and will definitely look for reasons to come back!

If this place was closer to me I'd eat here every day! It was amazing! The home made bread, the fresh salad, and the sandwich were gourmet. Great service, and super fast. Truly deserving of its high yelp rating.

Arguably the best food in town and incontrovertibly the best value in town. I honestly don't like telling people about Juno's, but that is a selfish act. They are also incredibly nice to humans and dogs alike. Every dish is great and that is truly remarkable for any restaurant, let alone a small neighborhood spot.

Juno's Kitchen - We stumbled upon this Exceptional Cafe one evening, shortly after they had opened. While on a 'date night', Amy greeted us inside and we chose the Banh Mi and Gambas Al Ajillo to share... We were in heaven !!! Since the first time, this is what we have order EVERY time... and, it's Perfect always!!! We would like to venture out into other Juno Menu specialties, but when something is PERFECT, why?? lol. We will... however, the something else ventured on our order WILL always include the Banh Mi !!! Thank YOU, Chef !

OK, this review is going to feel a bit over-exaggerated; but you just HAVE to trust me on this. This is a small local deli that will blow you away! Great food. Amazing favors, and home-style service. Amazing pesto and super sriracha aioli are just a couple of the ways that pork, chicken, and sausage on panini breads become epic meals. Try it - you'll like it!

This is one greatest treasures tucked away in a small suite off J Street. They bake their own bread for their sandwiches, and their menu selection is worth taking a look at. One of my top sandwiches is their spin on a Banh Mi. A sandwich so very well executed. Spicy, fresh and delicious. Service is top of the line and very friendly. We keep going back there to try different menu items, but often stick to our favorites as well. Smoked Trout Sanwich Pastrami Sandwich Banh Mi Sandwich And their macaroni and cheese is to die for. Check them out as soon as you can!

INNNNNN LOVE!!!!!!! GO HERE NOW!!! Had a nice lunch here with my little sisters and bf's family! There were 6 of us and they were very accommodating. It was such a nice day that we decided to sit outside under the trees! The restaurant itself is a bit small but there are a couple of tables inside, but mainly the seating is outside. We were seated immediately and were given water. The menu is small but that is because each dish is made to perfection seriously. I ordered a turkey sand for my sister and I got the pastrami. It was AMAZING! It comes with a side salad or fries. I picked salad of course. My other sister and my bf got the burger which was also amazing! I almost ate all my food and a quarter of the hamburger! hahah! I would also recommend the mac and cheese! It was sooooo good! It was just the right amount of cheesy for me! Also, everything is a huge serving! If I wasn't on my weekend food mode, I would have only been able to eat half a sandwich, but I STUFFED myself with that goodness. This place kind of reminded me of Tyler's burgers in Palm Springs, it has a nice urban feeling on a busy street. I almost felt like I was not in Sac! Great place for a nice weekend lunch.

Just ok don't believe the hype of 4-5 stars, bread was low quality meats are avg and soup below avg price way too high for this place don't know how they stay in business I would only give it one star but it's good location one thing it has going for them good luck

  • Rachelle F.

Came here for lunch on a weekday around 11:50. It wasn't too crowded yet but by the time we ordered our food all of the tables outside were filled. The place is pretty small so get there early or wait for the lunch rush to pass. I had the panko crusted eggplant sandwich with the mixed greens on the side. The sandwich was really tasty and had the right amount ingredients. It has basil aioli and balsamic reduction so you should eat it semi-fast or else the bread will get soggy. Loved the service. The waitress was really down-to-earth and super nice.

I love sandwiches. They're my favorite food. Juno's does it right. Way to go, guys. Your shrimp is killer, too.

  • Jessica R.

There is not one bad thing about this place. Except they should be open 7 days a week. (closed sundays) The staff is amazing and the food is like no other deli around. The Bahn Mi and kale caesar are my favorites. The daily special is always great also.

  • Mimi V.

Delicious! I am usually not a fan of fish sandwiches, but this place changed my mind. I walked in, and asked what they recommended. The worker and a customer recommended me the trout sandwich, therefore, I ordered the trout sandwich. The trout sandwich was very good, the bread had the perfect texture, trout was smoked perfectly where it wasn't too burnt and fishy, and the toppings paired well. The side salad it came with was very fresh and the vinaigrette was delicious. Overall, I loved the sandwich and thought it was very good. The only thing I would change about the sandwich is to put lesser mayonnaise. I would definitely come back here.

    (5)
  • Vladimir G.

Just have tried their smoked trout sandwich and it was bad and not fresh. The trout had a strange taste to it along with a cheese. Had to go to the bathroom right after I was done with the sandwich.

This is by far my favorite place to eat at in Sacramento. When I first started eating here, my go to meal was the Haloumi Cheese sandwich. Which was and is still awesome. Then my favorite became the Gambas Al Ajillo which is Rock Shrimp sauteed with Spanish Chorizo, olive oil, garlic, white wine, parsley and crushed red pepper. This is my third favorite dish now. Now my favorite dish is the Kale Caesar salad with grilled chicken. This is the best Kale Caesar salad I have ever tasted. They also make a burger in a house made brioche bun(what.... the what). It's pretty awesome. I don't know what is the meat to fat ratio in the burger but add in their "fancy sauce" and you get the "richest", most satisfying burger you have ever had. The staff and the Chefs are pretty awesome here too. I've been coming here about once week for about two years now and they have always been nice and welcoming.

  • Nyheim H.

The food was alright . The person who helped us was unsure of the menu. The woman who helped us and we asked her a question and she responded , "that sucks." I would not go again.

    (2)
  • Cheyenne C.

The food was great! The owner served us and she was so incredibly pleasant. We had no problem finding seating outside. Their menu has something for everyone. This is a wonderful place to grab a quick and delicious lunch with a friend and people watch. An added plus is that they also cater to dogs and have a water bowl available. So awesome, I will definitely be back!

  • Mollie H.

I went here for the first time today during the lunch rush, and was surprised to get a table. The ladies immediately greeted me and were so nice! I ordered the special, which was a salami & fig panini. Best. Sandwich. Ever. Also had the pan fried potatoes, which were perfectly seasoned. I think this is one of my new favorite lunch places! Prices are decent for the amount of food you get (my sandwich was massive, and they don't skimp on the meat). There's also a lot of seating outside, so it's fun to sit and people-watch the always-bustling J street. Great place to bring a lunch date, but also cool if you're solo.

  • Fred T.

Extraordinary sandwiches, responsive staff, excellent value. We'll certainly visit again soon. Suggest they move the menu forward to light the papers on the line. Menu was a bit dark and hard to read in the indirect light.

True to form for chef Mark Helms, the food at Juno's is fabulous. Convenient to East Sac, the service is so warm & fuzzy. The other reviewer is right - when the owner's livelihood is at stake, you get the "best of class". Every plate seems as though it was given individual attention. Will definitely use Juno's when we need our meetings catered in East Sacramento. Nice to see some individuality.

  • Emilie D.

Great experience! The salmon and eggplant sandwiches were delicious, the staff were friendly. It is just a cute little place that is run by a couple out of a tiny shop, and I found it totally charming. And their products seem to be fresh, unique, and authentic. Will go back for sure.

  • Victoria L.

I had dinner here for the first time tonight, and everything was delicious. Even though I'm not a vegan, I ordered the vegan sandwich, and it was great. The bread was freshly baked, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly with a bit of truffle oil. I also tried a bite of my mom's burger, which was juicy, thick and cooked perfectly medium rare. We had our eye on the cookie jar throughout our meal and were not disappointed when we ordered one for dessert. It was huge and moist with lots of chocolate chips and oats. (I wish I'd gotten an extra one for my plane ride home tomorrow!) Our server, Amy, was wonderful, too. She was friendly and efficient and her recommendations were spot on. It's a small restaurant, and I couldn't help but notice that she had a kind word for everyone who came in. Unfortunately, I live in NYC and won't be back for awhile. However, the next time I'm in town, a meal at Juno's will be at the top of my list. If only they had a location in NYC, I'd go every day!

  • Dave G.

Another excellent lunch at Juno's today, it was fantastic! This place is just excellent - fabulous service, terrific food with quality ingredients. I had the ham and cheese (jamon and something) and it was just tremendous. When I'm really impressed with a place and come back for the second or third time, I'm invariably disappointed. It's just too hard to maintain "5-star" quality consistently, and often times the charm or novelty will have worn thin. Juno's is the exception. I am blown away every time. I love this place!

    (5)
  • Richie T.

Two words....Bahn mi. Best sandwich ever!!! This place has the freshest ingredients and the greatest service. I work across the street and come in here at least 2-3 times a month. Juno's is hands down the best spot around for a quality sandwich. And for all the people who complain about the prices, go to subway across the street for a 1 star sandwich for 3 dollars cheaper. You get what you pay for

Cool new dog friendly eat spot! Fresh ingredients, unusual menu, smiling cook! My first trip with friends included Ban Mi Pork Loin Sandwich, the Burger, and finally the Beet Salad with Arugula and Chicken. Each of us enjoyed our meal and were pleased to have this great new place in the neighborhood. This is a pretty tiny dining experience, in cafe has 10 seats, and the street-side dining has another 8 seats. There is a dog bed and water bowl for all of us dogged diners. This little place was HOPPING! They do a swift take out trade, and you can also buy whole or half loaves of sour artisan bread. The service was attentive, the cook was happy, there was a good vibe.

  • Chel C.

Every single thing I've tried here is de-lish. Their kale caesar is my new favorite thing to crave. They are sooo friendly and helpful. They have a dog bed and water out front, how cute is that??? LOVELOVELOVE

  • Marchessa D.

Small and crowded during lunch but well worth the wait. Best for to-go and phone orders. Parmesan crusted eggplant sandwich (breaded eggplant and grilled red and green peppers, balsamic vinegar, and aioli) and the smoked trout sandwich (smoked trout, sliced applies, cheese, arugula, and aioli) are my two favorites that never disappoint. The grilled chicken sandwich, steak sandwich, and burger are all worth trying as well. The staff is great and outdoor seating is dog-friendly. Perfect spot for lunch on a warm, sunny day

    (5)
  • Bill T.

I had their smoked trout sandwich on their overly crispy french roll. The food was decent, but I honestly felt it was bland and dry. If you like bland food then this is the place for you. They are nothing special. I'd try not to eat outside on busy J st again, the noisy cars totally ruined it for me. The waitress was pretty good I have to admit, too bad you go out to eat for the food, in any case, I give her 5 stars.

    (3)
  • Munchie S.

All the sandis here are tasty - some more than others. My favorite are the steak and the pastrami. The trout, turkey, and chicken ones are just ok. The baked goods taste like the crappy stuff at whole foods though. If you want the popular sandis, you will have to come early. They frequently run out towards the end of lunch. Be prepared to wait for a table, and/or be rushed off of yours by the staff as well.

    (4)
  • Greg S.

Small. Unprepossessing. Ridiculously good jamon sandwich. Casually ideal for the lovely lunch or the quick after work bite. If you like Magpie, you'll love this place. Think of it as a mini-Magpie. Without (for the time being) the yummy beer and wine selection.

  • Micah G.

I love the Bahn Mi here. The service is always great and I love the food. It's close to my place and love the family environment.

Swinging by Yelp for a brief moment to say: what's 'wich you guys? Only four reviews? Take a break from pointlessly arguing on the threads and put your jaws to better work at Juno's. If you love sandwiches, you are going to be a happy camper here. Many things to like: - hand made sourdough artisan bread - fresh, seasonal, quality ingredients - creative and dynamic menu - pleasant staff. We had the Haloumi Cheese (heirloom tomato, little gem, red onion, olive oil + balsamic vinegrette) and their version of the bahn mi (I asked and they accommodated my request for chicken vs. pork). Each incredibly delicious! Had the roasted mixed potatoes -- made that particular day with dill -- also superb. For the moment: closed Mondays and open other days Noon to 8pm. I'll be coming here often. Life is short; eat well. Kick your old stale and boring sandwiches to the curb!

I could eat here every single day of my life. My boyfriend and I come here as often as we possibly can for our favorite...the Bahn Mi!!! But we've tried quite a few of the sandwiches and soups, and everything has been pretty amazing, always unique and fresh. We have not been disappointed (except the hours are a little funky) and today we walked all the way there and they had run out of bread and closed early for the day :( But that just tells you again how great Junos is!

Like another reviewer, found hair in our food. One hair in the soup which was returned and taken off the tab. However, found multiple hairs on half a Bahn Mi sandwich that was taken home as leftovers. Next day, went to reheat the meat, took the bun off and noticed at least 5 short dark hairs stuck to the meat. That likely means that we probably ate hair yesterday and didn't know it. So sick.

Damn good food! Both the eggplant and the salami sandwiches are outrageously delish. The quinoa is tasty, and I love the nugget cookies. My only gripe, and it's slight, is about the potatoes; they're inconsistent. Sometimes they are cooked to perfection and other times they are undercooked and/or flavorless. I DO highly recommend Juno's.

My absolute favorite place in Sacramento! The food is amazing and made with so much love. Everyone who works there is so nice, which makes coming here even better. Thank you Junos!

One of the best lunch spots in Sacramento. The eggplant sandwich is filled with roasted vegetables dressed in a nice balsamic dressing served between the best bread. The chicken pasta, loaded with proscuitto and chicken, is also delicious. I also got a side of freshly baked bread served with high quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I just about licked the plate clean. The place has only a few tables inside and a few on the sidewalk. The two waitresses are friendly and efficient. The younger waitress greeted regular customers by name.

I ordered the panko-crusted eggplant sandwich and mixed green salad (rose petals!) for $8.50 . . . the sandwich was amazing, truly fantastic, but rather petite. I could have eaten 3 more of them. The flavors in the sandwich, though, were delicious. The salad was simple but good. My only real complaint of the evening was that the sandwich was just a bit small for $8.50. I see a problem with the seating there -- they only have about four 2-top tables inside, and a couple of 4-tops outside...and the outside seating is about to become useless once the cold weather arrives. So they can effectively seat about 8-10 people inside there...max. Since it was dinner time and the tables were all occupied, I got my order to go rather than eat standing up... Since I am a vegetarian, there isn't much on the menu for me to try -- the eggplant sandwich and a cheese sandwich appear to be it for the time being -- but they also had a great-sounding vegan carrot soup, as well as an Israeli couscous dish that I might try. So there are a few options for the meatless eaters, but not many. They have me as a captive audience -- any place that is walking distance to my house is automatically in the running to get my business -- so I am happy that I enjoyed the first visit and I look forward to trying it again.

My heart skipped a beat as I saw the space next to Juno's being renovated. I immediately thought, THEY ARE EXPANDING! As it turns out, I was wrong, but its not a bad idea because this teeny, tiny eatery is where it's at and more people should know about it and eat here on the regular. The Chicken sandwich and the Sopressa salami sandwich are my go-to orders. I can't bring myself to cheat on them and try something new because I love every morsel. I love the fresh simple mixed green salad that comes with my sammie; just enough tang and with edible flower petals. Visually gorgeous and my belly agrees, too. But if that doesn't toot your horn you can get house potatoes or a quinoa salad. The bread is baked fresh daily in house and it's perfect. Perfection is a flakey, crisp, thin hard shell crust that outlines the soft, spongy melt in your mouth carb goodness of a sandwich. So if I haven't said enough about how great the food is, go just for the service. Staff at Juno's are gracious and go out of their way to make sure you have your water filled, utensils and follow up mid way into your meal. Yes this place is tiny, but you place orders at the counter so naturally I did not expect this level of service. I can't praise this spot enough and as an added bonus, they are dog lovers and dog friendly. Awwwwww!

Went here for lunch awhile back and have had cravings ever since. Really unique and delicious menu items; I had a chicken sandwich with prosciutto .... Oh my nom! Absolutely incredible. Pretty tiny and laxed little environment in there, but I was still impressed with the low prices and high quality. Great service as well... I will definitely be back yeeeee!

Juno's food was very tasty---but I would't say it's the healthiest place to dine. Quality ingredients, unique combinations of food--but, for example, the aioli sauce on the Steak sandwich, soaked through the bread. The pesto sauce on the Turkey sandwich, left a big green oily puddle on the plate. I couldn't get enough napkins. At any rate, I will go back to try more dishes because I enjoy supporting local businesses and I just like the hole-in-the-wall feel of it (the prices don't reflect the hole-in-the-wall theme).

Love, love, love. One of my favorite lunch spots, ever. You will become addicted. One star off for not having more vegetarian/vegan choices. The vegan sandwich is ridiculously good but the cheese sandwich was a little bland. Eggplant sandwich also fabulous but a little heavy. I'd love a few more non-meat choices since it would undoubtedly be good. Something with avocado, grilled onions, hmmm.? yum!

Tried the Grilled chicken sandwich and it was great! Fantastic sourdough bread, crispy prosciotto, yummy aoli. It came with a lightly dressed arugala salad. I didn't care for the rose petals in my salad, but then again....i don't like flowers in anything i eat. call me weird! I wanna go back for the bavette steak salad!!

A Great eatery addition to East Sac. The food is great, they are quick and have a nice variety. I have tried the Burger, Steak Sandwich and Banh Mi Sandwich. They all have amazing Taste. The fresh made bread is simply the best around. I live about 100 steps away and always call ahead. They always say 10 minutes, and when I get there, its always ready. I have always gotten the side of mixed potatoes, very good but skimpy on the portion. This is the reason I cannot give a 5 start rating. The one time I have eaten at the restaurant, the potatoes portion was plentiful. On most of my Togo orders, it has been skimpy. Once I received only 6 small slices of potatoes, but I still go back because they are quick and the food tastes Very Good. Oh, and the Cheesecake, Simply Amazing! Light, Fluffy and Yummy!

For those following chef Mark Helms over the years, it is no surprise he continues to serve some of the best food in the region. I probably would have given Juno's four and a half stars, because there is always room for improvement. That being said, Juno's is a great place. Only a slight ding for the space (smoke glass windows in the front, super small...etc.). But I know that chef (and wife) liked working closer to home and didn't want the burdens of a large restaurant...can't be many small places with a kitchen like this. Sandwiches are great (and I feel I really put him to the test, ordering something I would rarely order: egg plant sandwich). Great sauce on perfect bread...only slightly heavy (pretty rich). Side salad is trademark Helms...perfectly tossed with an outstanding vinaigrette (not totally sure what he does to get the dressing on every piece of lettuce/green, front and back). For now, this place works...but I would like him to get back into the full service restaurant business. Dinner is really where it is at in the food world. Chef Helms is one of the better chefs we have in Sacramento.

This place is amazing! Friendly, attentive service coupled with delicious sandwiches (their pastrami and turkey were both yummy), healthy sides (the quinoa and lentils side is my fav - add some fresh ground pepper and it's even better), and unique salads (kale Caesar, for example) has made this my new go-to lunch spot. Plus, I brought my dog and he was given his own dog bed, ice water, and treat!

I have been coming to this place for a couple of years. The sandwiches are delicious and portions are large. There is a very interesting variety and unusual combinations in their offerings. The bread is made by the cafe and is always exceptional. This is a small place with limited seating inside, but on a nice day they serve on the sidewalk tables. Always friendly and they like dogs.

It took two tries to get here, but we did! There was a small sign on the window Monday night - they were closed and sorry for the inconvenience. I had my heart set on trying this out, so we went back the next day right as they opened. We were the second people in the door. Within minutes, they little tiny restaurant was PACKED and the phone rang the entire time we were there. That has to say something. Beyond that, the food was amazing. We ordered: 1. Bahn Mi - YUMM. Great contrasting flavors. I loved it, but would have loved more spice/heat. 2. Smoked Trout sandwich - fantastic. Loved the flavors. My favorite thing of the day! 3. Parpadelle with rock shrimp - Strong flavors and a little goes a long way. I'm not complaining, but I'm glad I was planning to share this dish. 4. Mac and cheese with rock shrimp - I only tried one bite but it was also good. No complaints. We got the roasted potatoes and quinoa as sides for the sandwiches. They were awesome too! We bought a fresh loaf of bread...great stuff. Overall, I have no complaints and the next time I'm in that part of town, I'll be back. Everything we tried had great flavor and minus a few tiny complaints, I'd recommend this place to anyone. The entire menu looked amazing and there is so much more I want to try!

I don't live in Ca. but when I'm visiting my parents in Sacramento I find my way to Juno's at least once. My focus is always the quality of food and they have some of the best sandwiches I've ever had! I went there last Thursday and was greeted with smile. I could not decide on any particular sandwich so I asked to be surprised. They were all very receptive of the idea. And, I was pleasantly surprised when I got my mouth watering sandwich with all my favorite ingredients. It was one of the best meals I've ever had, just perfect!! Chef David, THANK YOU for your amazing creation and the unforgettable experience!

Had the burger, which was pretty good and really big, but pricey. it had a different flavor, almost sweet. I personally didn't love it, but the rest of my family did so I decided to give 4 stars instead of 3. We'll definitely return, but next time I'll try a deli sandwhich.

I'm so happy about this much needed addition to East Sac. While it's ambiance won't wow, the food will. I've been here over 10 times (usually take out). Chicken ceasar salad is great. Chicken Is grilled perfectly and dressed just right. Carrot soup or whatever soup is that day is excellent. Jamon Serrano sandwich, potato salad, bahn mi sandwich, wagyu burger and salad greens side are all winners. Bread is A+. My only complaint is that the sandwiches are a little over sauced for my taste but that's easily fixed. It may seem a tad pricey but the quality/freshness is all there. Juno's is a cut above similar places. I keep trying to like the other high end deli in east sac (on H) but it always falls short, just okay all the countless times I've been there. This place reminds me of a great neighborhood hole in the wall that you would find in New York or San Francisco; good, solid and creatively prepared food without the frills. Service is friendly and orders are served quickly. I hope Juno's becomes a fixture around here and keeps churning out the quality.

This place really is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it kinda place, but oh so worth it if you do find it! My husband had the Hamouli (spelling?) cheese sandwich with micro greens and balsamic reduction, which was fantastic. I had the Bahn Mi which was good, but to be honest I'm more of a beef Bahn Mi kinda gal (I know, sacrilegious, I know). however, the other sandwiches looked great and we will be back to get some more!

We've been here three times, and I really think I could eat here everyday. Sooo good! The bahn mi is, I think, my all time favorite sandwich anywhere. And the burger may be my all time favorite as well. And the pasta with chicken, you can't go wrong with it either. This time we even tried a side of mushrooms that even my 2 year old kept asking for more. My wife pretty much never wants to go to the same place more than once or twice, yet she agreed that we may need to make a trip to Junos a regular event.

My first experience at Juno's was a salad...it was very good and I enjoyed it outside on a beautiful summer day. Note: I saw the rock-shrimp mac-n-cheese on the menu, but remembered my diet. My second was the famous kale caesar salad...WOW! This salad was awesome! Definitely top of my list for caesar salad! Note: Again, I saw the rock-shrimp mac-n-cheese but I was still trying to loose a few pounds. Tonight was my third experience, and since we are running a half marathon this weekend, I thought "what the heck - I'll finally go for the mac-n-cheese!" O...M...G... I think I will dream about this mac-n-cheese... The flavor and texture are just amazing...best mac-n-cheese I've EVER had! Thanks to Juno's for not letting me down! As for the environment, they are very dog friendly offering dog beds, water bowls and even treats to all their 4-legged visitors! Wow! When your dog is just as much a family member as anyone else, it's great to have them lie at your feet while you enjoy some amazing food. Seating is very limited to a few tables outside and a few inside. I recommend ordering and hanging around...someone is bound to leave while you're waiting!

The food is delicious. I've been to the restaurant on two occasions and both times the food has been wonderful. The sandwiches are generous with delicious bread and the sides whether potatoes or a salad have been good as well. I also ordered a soup to go and had it later for dinner. The soup container was a bit flimsy which would be my only complaint. As previoulsy stated the guy at the cash register is helpful when it comes to deciding what to order. I don't happen to think the food is overpriced for the quality. This is not your standard deli fare. I will go there again when in the neighborhood

So we finally got around to coming here recently to grab sandwiches for lunch. We loved Ravenous Cafe when it was under Juno's owner/chef. We've been meaning to come here ever since he sold Ravenous a while ago. We sat outside and ordered the Membrillo & Jamón sandwich and the Vegan sandwich, both with a side of mixed greens. The Membrillo & Jamón was a hot, pressed sandwich with membrillo (a fruity, jelly/paste-like jam), ham, melted manchego, arugula, and olive oil on sort of sliced bread. The bread was delicious and really brought everything together nicely. The ham was a little tough to chew and break apart. it would come out in one big chunk, but it was still good. The Vegan comes with all sorts of veggies, balsamic vinegar, and white truffle oil on a roll. It was hearty and flavorful. Service here is great, as it was at Ravenous. The place is tiny with just one waitress and one of the owners taking care of the tables. We'll be back to try out some of their other delicious-sounding sandwiches and their mac and cheese!

Juno's is our favorite place to eat in East Sac. Ingredients are fresh and the sandwiches are always tasty. If the steak sandwich is on the menu, GET IT. My wife is a vegetarian and loves the eggplant sandwich. She often dreams about it. The staff is very friendly, and don't be surprised if they bring your dog a treat, or even a bed to lay in if you're dining outdoors. We are sad that we are moving out of East Sac, but will make the trip from Arden Park regularly to dine here.

I don't often give 5 stars, but I think this place is worth it. I was really impressed with the food, and the service was great too. I ate here with a friend on our way traveling from San Francisco to Lake Tahoe, as we had found this restaurant on Yelp. I ordered the smoked trout sandwich (apples, wild arugula, manchego cheese & aioli), and my friend ordered the burger (cheddar cheese, red onion, shredded romaine, tomato, pickles & fancy sauce). Both were outstanding. I think Juno's does a great job of keeping their dishes simple, yet in a gourmet way. It really makes for a flavorful experience. All sandwiches/burgers also come with a side of either potatoes or mixed greens. I ordered the potatoes, which was a mix of sweet potatoes and white potatoes. This is an excellent place to stop for lunch, and I highly recommend the trout sandwich. The shrimp mac-n-cheese looked pretty tempting as well.

The best place to get a sandwich in Sacramento!!! Evertime I go in, there is alway a special that I cannot seem to resist. Their burgers are great, the bread is baked there and the "nugget" is by far one of the best cookies i have had. Do yourself a favor and check them out. I usually eat here about 2-3 times a week.

Small little place that could easily be missed. Took a little bit of walking after we parked to locate this establishment. There are small umbrellas outside with several tables for outdoor seating. There are a few tables for indoor seating. Since the open kitchen is right there within feet, you can really smell the food. Grilled chicken sandwich: the side of roasted Yukon potato and sweet potato was different and I enjoyed it. The basil aioli was good but can be a bit messy. I would ask for light drizzle if I get the sandwich again. Sandwich could use a bit more chicken since it was a thin piece of chicken that was not long enough or wide enough for the bread so 1/3 of the sandwich was vegetarian basically. Shrimp Mac and cheese: rigatoni pasta and small shrimps drenched in cheesy sauce with crunchy bread crumbs and dusted with paprika on top. Pretty good although slightly salty if you end up getting a chunk of cheese with your bite. The staff were nice and made some recommendations for us. Seems like they are pretty busy with to-go orders while we sat and waited for our food. The tables filled quickly within 30 minutes of opening.

great spot for lunch. excellent food and some of the friendliest service I've ever had. tough spot to find as their sign is hard to read. we went w/ the special turkey & avocado and the eggplant sandwich and I'd go back and get the exact same thing next time!

What a perfect Sacramento summer night! Greeted and seated warmly, sat outside and people watched while waiting for our sandwiches (Chicken breast and bahn mi). Thinly sliced meat in modest amounts was just enough with the bright and fresh spreads and veggies. Such reasonable prices.

I came to this sandwich spot for lunch on my way back from Tahoe. The place is small so indoor dining is limited if you come at a busy lunch hour. We ended up sitting outside to eat which was pleasant because the weather was nice but the view isn't too great. I tried both the panko crusted eggplant sandwich and the pastrami. The eggplant sandwich is a vegetarian sandwich that has roasted peppers, manchego cheese, tomato, basil aioli and a balsamic reduction. It cost $8.50 which some may find to be a high price for a sandwich but it came with a beautifully unique salad and it had high quality ingredients. It was well worth the money. I usually enjoy a little meat in a sandwich but you wont miss it with this eggplant sandwich. The sandwich was very tasty and savory and I am a sucker for Californian flavors. The pastrami sandwich had a good kick because of the horse radish in it. I personally love horse radish so I was excited to see that they didn't skimp on it in the sandwich. The sandwich also featured braised cabbage, pickles and stone ground mustard. It cost $9.75. Between the two sandwiches I liked the eggplant one a little more. The salad that came with the eggplant sandwich had some flower petals in it and some unidentifiable leaf that I found to be unique and fresh. There are two main sandwich chefs I believe working behind the counter. Everything's made to order which guarantees fresh and tasty food. Their bathroom is also pretty whimsical and cute. There's a deer statue underneath the sink that threw me off and surprised me.

I had been in the mood for a good sandwich and had some time to kill before classes when I yelped upon this place. I headed over, and while parking is always a buzzkill in this area, the place was cute and quaint and it was a beautiful day for a stroll. I walked in and it looked as though lunch was picking up, luckily I made it just in time. They were so sweet in there and had some great recommendations. I love how their menu wasn't overwhelming, and so I went with the smoked trout with potatoes. OH my GOODNESS. So delicious, and I walked over to the rose garden to enjoy it. Delicious all around and I can't wait to go back and try another one!

The first time I was here I was blown away by their crusted planko eggplant sandwich. Second time wasn't as pleasant as the first. I wanted to try something new so I ordered the salami sandwich and my fiancé ordered the eggplant since he loved mines so much last time. Upon ordering I asked the server if my sandwich was toasted and if I can get it toasted longer as I am pregnant. Food comes out and it looks like nothing we ordered. Initially I asked the server (lady) if I can get it toasted because the salami was cold. She said it usually is on another type of bread but they are out so its on sour dough baguettes. No one informed us upon ordering that they were out of bread. Strike one. I then ask if they can toast my sandwich because I'm pregnant and can't have cold deli meat. She replies that's how it is made. It not like I was returning it and refused to pay, I just wanted my sandwich warm lady! So I ended up pulling out all the salami from my sandwich. $10 for a veggie cold sandwich. Strike two. I'm not a very picky person, if I don't like the food I won't come back with no complaints but in this case it's the rude customer service that did it for me. What a shame.

Very unfortunate experience at Juno's. We were really looking forward to trying the food here after hearing great things about it. We had a to go order which consisted of a chicken salad sandwich and the mac n cheese. Once we get home to dig in, I notice a hair in my sandwich about three bites in. We have black hair, and this was a long piece of blonde hair. Obviously from Juno's. Not sure why, but I have an alarming rate of hair in my food but that is a different story. Anyway, I understand things like that happen. We call Juno's to inform them and get a refund or some type of compensation. Amy, who was working in the front acted really surprised that there was a piece of hair in the sandwich. Because she "is the only one with blonde hair and she isn't in the kitchen." Well, I have no damn idea how it got in there, but we are brown people with black hair so I know for a fact its neither one of ours. While Amy held her suspicious disbelief she did not apologize in any form or offer compensation. We had to ask her to refund the chicken salad sandwich portion of the order. And she obliged, but still not even a damn apology. We couldn't eat the rest of the meal because we lost our appetite. I know everyone has different thresholds for things like hair in food, but its hard to enjoy a meal after you find hair in someone's food. Its like you're suspicious of everything on the table. I called to see if we can get further compensation and explain to Amy that we lost our appetite. She again doesn't apologize, rather, she states "a piece of hair ruined your dinner?" Ummm, YES! It may not ruin your dinner to find someone else's hair in it, but it is reasonable that someone else may not react the same way. She hands the phone to Mark and he was pretty quiet. He did say sorry which was nice, but no further compensation. I know these things happen, and I have found hair in my food before. Although, can we get a proper apology? Is that too much to ask for. I have gone back to places after finding hair because their customer service was great. But Juno's, no. The picture with the hair is attached to the review. I know that these guys have a loyal fanbase, but just make sure to check your food for hair and don't expect an apology if you find some in it. Amy, if you read this, yes, hair in food is disgusting and you should apologize (even if you think hair in food is okay). Saying sorry in a customer service position for something like that is the least you can do.

I could not resist eating everything on my plate of shrimp and chorizo cooked in olive oil infused with layers of flavor. There were layers of flavors in all dishes we ordered. Even the bread served was in a layered olive oil sweetness, spicy to savory. This place is very dog friendly too.

A lot went wrong for me to give Juno's more than two stars. First, the cashier/server was professional, but curt. Not at all nice like other reviewers say. Maybe she was super busy, dunno. Just wasn't great service. But then again, I was a To Go order. Anyway, the reason I went to Juno's was to have the bahn mi, which turned out to be a major disappointment. In fact, 95% of my two-star review is attributable to the bahn mi because in my system of ratings, service can be bad or average and an establishment can still get 4 stars for awesome food. The bahn mi disappointed because it had thinly-sliced, BBQ pork shoulder/chop, which just doesn't seem right. The vegetables were too tart/tangy--like they were marinated far too long. And finally, there was a thick spread of some mayo-like cream, which also was too tart/tangy. The one thing I did enjoy, although still not very bahn mi-y, was the bread. The bread was delicious. I'll wait a couple of weeks and try something else there. I feel like I should give them another shot to wow me because so many yelpers can't be wrong. Right?

Found Juno's on Yelp after searching for a kid friendly lunch spot. Had no problem finding it and was able to park almost right in front. Dined al fresco in front with my preschooler and grandma. Service was excellent/attentive during the busy, weekday lunch hour. They have a kid's menu, served kid beverages in a lidded cup with a straw and gave us a cool activity pack. Food was excellent. Kiddo had mac and cheese and it was the real deal. No powdered stuff or milk over cheap elbow mac that you usually see in kid meals. The adults split the wild arugula salad and a burger. Both were top notch. I particularly liked the salad. The sherry vinaigrette complemented the vibrant flavors of the beets, manchego, serrano ham and arugula perfectly. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

Had their chicken sandwich and shrimp mac & cheese both were really delicious. They make their chicken sandwich with chopped lettuce, prosciutto, aioli (yummier than mayo) and comes with salad or potato on the side. $14 is a bit pricey for mac and cheese but it's well worth it :). The mac & cheese was served piping hot!!!

I've had lunch at Juno's a couple times now and finally remembered to review it. The first time around I had the hamburger and it was delicious, if a little messy. The last time I sat outside with the puppy and had the pork bahn mi, which was fantastic. Thin, grilled pork and freshly pickled veggies in a toasted french roll and served with a side of pan fried, mixed potatoes. The owner was our server and was very friendly with the dog, bringing her water and a pillow to lay on and pointing out that the restaurant is named after hers. I didn't feel rushed despite eating by myself at lunch time and while the menu is limited, there's not a dud on it. There's fierce competition in Sacramento's sandwich market and I think Juno's holds it's own.

My co-workers and I stopped in at Juno's on Tuesday of this week for lunch. Juno's served us some of the best sandwiches we have ever had! I ordered the Panko Crusted Eggplant Sandwich . The eggplant was breaded in a way where it did not become soggy or mushy when I was eating it. The bread was light, soft and perfectly toasted. The cheese was gooey and flavorful and the red peppers divine. It was amazing and I will order it again. It came accompanied by a green salad that was perfectly dressed with a lovely balsamic vinaigrette. My co-workers had the Bahn Mi and a Deli sandwich special. Both loved their sandwiches as much as I loved mine. I snagged a bite of the Bahn Mi and ...Wow! So good! Service was friendly and efficient. Don't leave without buying a cookie! They are massive in size and delicious to boot!

Arugala beet salad yummy. Hits the spot. Cute little deli in East sac. Their menu looks real interesting with plenty of great options. Sit outdoors if you can. Pet friendly.. Staff could use a bit more cheer about them as they are not the warmest but hey, I am not gonna hold that against them. Everyone has an off day. It could have just been a rough one. I look forward to trying more items from their diverse menu

This place has my heart. The perfect neighborhood restaurant/deli with small town charm and big time taste. Tables outside for al fresco dinning, with a few tables inside as well. The outside is a little unassuming with its dark windows and hard to see sign. Upon entering, however, you will be pleasantly surprised. Neatly displayed are the menu choices, as shown on a clothes line reaching the width of this quaint and cozy location. There are basic choices like chicken pesto sandwiches to the fancier salmon and shrimp mac and cheese. A little something for every one here, ranging from $8 and above. I had the mac and cheese which...you guys...was incredible!! It was heavy, but super creamy with a touch of paprika to add a different and unique kick. I had enough left over to take with me any enjoy that night to come. The food also didn't take long, with plenty of time for us to eat, relax, yet be on out way all within 45 minutes. The woman running this ship is incredibly kind, with great service to boot. If you're looking for a chill place with nicer than your average deli food, give this place a chance!

Joe had the smoked trout sandwich which came with apples, wild arugula, Manchego cheese and aioli. The apples were very refreshing and added a nice contrast in texture in the sandwich. The bread is actually made in house! I love it when restaurants use fresh ingredients and as many home-made items as possible. The mac and cheese was one of the better mac and cheese's I've had in the city (still not over what I got at 58 degrees and holding). The mac and cheese sauce was thick but the cheeses weren't as pronounced as I would have liked. Overall, I would definitely come back here and try one of the other sandwiches.

Juno Kitchen is kind of hidden when I was riding my bike around looking for the spot. From the street view, a big tree is covering the name and address number. As I was riding up and down the sidewalk, the only way I was able to find the spot was actually looking at each business address number. They have a nice outdoor patio seating with an umbrella and lots of foot traffic walks by here during the time I was there. Foods we ordered: Special of the Day: Shrimp Ceviche Sand - Tons of small bay shrimp drenched in an aioli spread. The sandwich came out pretty big but went a little over board on the aioli sauce. The bread was fresh baked but was expecting more of a crunch yet the sandwich was still not bad. Grilled Chicken: I originally wanted steak sandwich but they said their meat delivery hasn't come yet and its already 1230pm. The chicken breast was grilled and moist and the portion was about the same size as the Ceviche sandwich. This was a very filling meal as it came along with some small roasted fingerling potatoes. I thought it was a nice café/sandwich spot but just a little over price for what you get. I wouldn't mind coming out here again to try other menu items.

I had to come and try this place out! Since reading all the wonderful reviews of how unbelievably good it is here, I decided why not. So why did I give them only 3 stars, well several reasons; - Lady who took my order rushed me, and was not very friendly. Okay so I get it, I go on lunch time and it can be busy. But sadly you guys weren't even busy when I walked in. - Paid over $15.00 for a lunch- that wasn't even amazing. ( Pastrami Sandwich and Carrot Cumin Soup) -Bread was burnt and just a mess put together. Soup was just A-OK - Threw everything in a bag, and didn't secure the lid on my soup, which caused the soup to spill all over. No spoon or napkins??? -Horrible Parking -Why did I still tip her???? I am still debating whether or not, I should give this place a second chance... :(

Say wha......??!! I have not done a review for JUNO's???? ACK! Fan-ta-stic. Period. Banh Mi, best in town. Salami sandwhich so tasty. The desserts very limited and sell out daily. Daily specials. The potatoes are great! Small neighborhood shop. Couldn't be better. Just so great. Eat there, take it to go. Sit inside, sit outside. It all works. Just GO!

Dropped in for lunch on a gorgeous day right at noon and wow, do people love this place! It was packed! We were very lucky to get the last (sadly, indoor) table, but most people didn't wait around for a table when they were up - they simply ordered to-go. Maybe it was all the people, maybe it was the fact that this place is tiny or perhaps because the kitchen is right there (again because the place is tiny), but it was so LOUD. I kept having to ask my tablemate to repeat himself. Once the crowd died down and the kitchen was able to slow, things were not so raucous and I was able to enjoy my meal. Yum!! I got the Banh Mi and he got the Trout sandwich. We each traded a half so got to enjoy both. While the Trout was good, the Banh Mi was so much better! (At least, I thought so - he actually thought the trout was the best) So much flavor - eating, my mouth was intrigued and incredibly happy. I'm definitely ordering that again. You get your option of a side salad or some side potatoes. I got the salad - he, the potatoes. I will definitely choose potatoes next time. The salad is just green stuff on your plate, but the potatoes (mixed with sweet potatoes) are roasted and smothered in olive oil/herbs. They're delicious! It may look like a dinky side dish (not overly plentiful), but it's the perfect match to most sandwiches. Juno's makes some fine sandwiches! I'll be returning.

Cramped space, not a lot of room -- but maybe that's what makes this place such a novelty, because everything else is a homerun! Think creative sandwiches (not the boring subway sandwich fair), fresh ingredients, tasty and fabulous service. Most of the sandwiches come with french fries, chips, pan-fried potatoes or tasty greens. This is familly owned and operated, and the service is excellent! Always friendly, helpful and happy to serve you! My dad is 72-years old. Doesn't venture far from home. He comes here on the regular and I've now seen first hand how wonderful and accommodating they are to him. He has his own menu item now, named after him! :) Makes him feel special -- and for that alone, I'm a big fan. But really.... don't go because these guys are nice to people's aging parents, go because it's DELICIOUS! The Banh Mi is one of the best in Sac, so is the steak sandwich -- check out the soup of the day options, and then prepare for a taste bud explosion. If you don't like heavy lunches, the portions are such that you could probably even share -- and they don't give you attitude for doing so! Great people. Great local business. Perfect for lunch!

The sandwiches are SO good here! Their shrimp mac n' cheese is SO good too! They make their own bread too. They have an optional side of salad with edible flowers or seasoned roasted potatoes. Both are good choices, but I always tend to gravitate towards the starch-hence the roasted potatoes, YUM! The lady that waits on the table is very nice and very helpful in answering any questions you may have. It has very limited seating indoors, just a few tables, but there is also outside tables as well. This place is also dog friendly too, they have water bowls for dogs outside the store front on hot summer nights. This is a place to go for a nice gourmet sandwich, trust me, just one bite of any of their scrumptious sandwiches you'll be coming back for more! You'll start to salivate every time you think about this place! Trust me I know I did!

I wish I'd found this place sooner. We shared a delicious Panko Crusted Eggplant sandwich and the Bahn Mi. The dressing for the mixed greens salad is good, but I highly recommend the roasted potatoes. Both orders were delicious and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be going back again soon.

One of my co-workers took me here for a birthday lunch yesterday. I had been reading about them for a while and I was really excited to try them out. I had to circle around a little bit to try and find a parking spot on the street. It is definitely a bit tricky, so walk or carpool if you can. We got there right at opening so we were able to get one of the three tables inside. There were several tables outside on the sidewalk as well. By noon the place was packed and all the tables were filled. My advice is to get there as early as you can. My friend ordered the grilled veggie sandwich with potatoes and I got the bahn mi with the green salad. Like a lot of delis they had bottled and canned drinks, but one major difference was that they gave me a glass of ice with my soda. That recieved major bonus points from me because I like my drinks cold! My sandwich was really tasty and had lots of pickled veggies, which is my favorite thing about Vietnamese food. It wasn't the most authentic bahn mi I have ever had (it was more of a ciabatta type bread than a baguette) but it was certainly yummy. My green salad was fresh, lightly dressed and even had rose petals in it, which was a nice touch. It could have been more heavily dressed for my taste, but I also hated the Schoolhouse Rock cartoon about "Don't Drown Your Food" back in the day. I am weird, I know. Overall, really fresh delicious sandwiches and sides. I want to come back and try the pastas as well. My mother recently picked up food for her girl's poker night here and she said everything was yummy and the ordering and picking up were hassel-free.

Yum! Came here on a weeknight based on an up-and-coming yelper's recommendation (shout out to Mandi P) and was very pleased! It's a very small restaurant on J St, a few tables inside and few outside. You order at the counter and they bring out the food. The lady taking our order was very friendly and helpful. She explained many of the dishes, answered our questions, and told us what her favorite items were. The menu offers sandwiches (veggie, fish, and meat), pasta dishes, a few salads, and a burger. Many of their dishes come with your side of choice: mixed greens, potatoes, or quinoa salad. The menu is not terribly extensive, but I had a hard time choosing because everything sounded so good! I had the grilled chicken sandwich with quinoa and loved it. The high quality and freshness of their food is undeniable. In addition to the tasty food and great service, Juno's is also very dog friendly! Definitely coming back!

Even though there were a lot of tasty options, I knew I was going to get the smoked trout sandwich ($9.5) once I saw it on the menu. The sandwich consisted of cream fraiche vinaigrette, onion, cornicorns (pickled cucumbers), tomato, watermelon radish, and arugula. The sandwich tasted light and fresh. The bread was crusty. All of the bread they use for sandwiches is house-made. The sandwich came with a side. I choose the roasted potatoes which also included sweet potatoes. They were a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. In the end, I left a clean plate! Customer service was great, especially from the guy at the registrar. There are only 4 tables inside that seat 2, so it may be a better option to take your food to go.

Great salads. Great sandwiches. Everything is always delicious. A bit pricey for what you get. Choice cuts of meat so no googly bits. Small place so be prepared to wait if it's busy. The bahn mi sandwiches aren't as goo as the $3 version you can get in south sac at Huong Lan but are good enough at double the price if you don't want to drive the 5 miles.

Everything from their breads to their aioli is made from scratch. The fish is smoked on site and amazing. The eggplant was fantastic and the smoked trout was a huge hit as well. We'll be talking about today's lunch for the next few days and I'm sure that the eggplant will be something that I crave from now on. So glad that we found this gem!

This is a great and simple sandwich spot that deserves all of the wonderful reviews it already has! Wow! The staff/owners? are super nice and make sure to follow up with you throughout the meal. If I ran a restaurant, it would be like this place: simple menu with a few things done to perfection. The bread is baked to perfection and the aioli is tart and creamy. The salad has some extravagant greens that aren't that common and the spice factor is done to perfection. The Bahn Mi is bomb-dizzle! This place is dog friendly and I don't have a dog. Makes me want to get one though, just so I can enjoy some good sammies with my pooch by my side. If it wasn't for my bro turning me on to this place I would have never found it...thanks dude. Writing this makes me want to go there right now.....putting my shoes on....grabbing my wallet...see you there!

SO GOOD. The beet quinoa side salad was my favorite. It's on J st so the seating is pretty much roadside but they make it work and you forget after your food comes. Super nice lady running everything too, thanks for the great experience.

When family and friends hear that I am a "yelper" they always come to me for advice on places to go. My typical response is usually "Go yelp yourself" But it always comes down to me finding a place that suits whoever I'm with or whatever the occasion may be. Over time, I have learned to like being the one to always pick the places. After all, Yelp really has brought me to some tasty restaurants and hole-in-the-walls. Juno's is one of those places that I would have passed by and never really given it a second look. Fortunately for them, many people on yelp recommended it. So, I took my boyfriends family there for a nice lunch. The interior is small, about four tables inside, and a few in front of the shop. Luckily it was a slow Saturday, and our group of five was seated easily and quickly. The menu is a good size. And everything sounded very appealing. The boyfriend and I both were enticed by the description if the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad. The rest of the group ordered other items such as the Haloumi sandwich, the turkey sandwich and the soppressata salami sandwich, While waiting, I was lulled by the smell of the fresh baked bread that was coming out of the oven and cooling on the racks. My God, that is quite possible the best smell in the world! At this point, I was more than excited to wrap my mouth around that sandwich, The arrival of my plate was soon before me and I didn't waste a second digging in. The sandwich and of course, the fresh baked bread, was everything I was hoping it would be. The basil in the aioli came through and mixed with the salty bite of the prosciutto. The chicken was flavorful and tender. I ate it so fast I didn't have time to care that I was making a mess and looking like a starving child. I had no time to care about whether or not the others at the table liked their dish until I was done with my happy, bread induced coma. When I came to, I believe I showed an interest for their great satisfaction. I know for sure I want to try the Haloumi cheese sandwich because that was highly raved about. And I did manage to glance at the turkey sandwich while shoveling mine in my mouth, and it looked very appetizing as well. One of the things I did get to try that was also very good and unexpected, was their quinoa salad with currents, cilantro and fresh squeezed orange juice. I didn't order it because I'm not a fan of fruit in my salad. But I was urged to try it and I'm very glad that I did. It was extremely flavorful and I loved the bite of cilantro that you get. A great combination of flavors that was very pleasing. Did I enjoy my food here. Ummm yeah!! I'll be back!

First time we tried this place. It has 4.5 Stars. I ordered the Salami Sandwich. OMG! There was barely any Salami!! The Sandwich was good but for the price, they would have to double the meat portion. My wife tried the Chicken Sandwich and same thing, the Chicken was slice so paper thin so it was dry and overcooked/burned. So for 2 Sandwiches and a Coke was $25 and in this economy, really?!! Way, way, way overpriced for what you get. Highly doubt we will ever go back.

This is the BEST BEST BEST place to eat in Sacramento HANDS DOWN!!!! If you decide to eat here they will sit you down and serve you like a restaurant, but if you are in a rush then just order at the cash register and your food will be packed for you so you can be on your way! I have tried the BBQ beef sandwich (it was a special and I think around $11) and O MY LORDY this was soooo orgasmic that I just dream about this particular sandwich. They make their own bread so the bread was extremely fresh, the outside was't too crunchy where it will rip the insides of your mouth and the inside of the bread was nice and had the perfect chew to it. The BBQ beef had a nice sweetness and light hint of heat, the perfect combination. We had the potatoes with it and those were made to perfection as well. I have also tried the arugala and beets salad and wow.. just a salad right? NO!!! It was the best peppery goodness salad with a nice balsamic salad dressing and an amazing nut that adds the perfect texture. If you want a simple salad then ORDER THIS!!! It is like $10 however. I have tried their grilled chicken sandwich with jamon serrano (not a fan of bacon so didn't care for this bit). Their bread is perfect, and the chicken was cooked perfectly where it wasn't too dry but not too juicy where we thought it was not cooked. This came with their soup of the day (tomato and basil for an extra like $2.75?) but wow, if you get a chance TRY THEIR SOUPS. Their tomato basil was nice and creamy, however towards the end it did kind of taste like tomato spaghetti sauce which was ALRIGHT for me but maybe some people will not like) I also have tried their egg and mushroom sandwich (also a special for I think $11). Now I thought this sandwich was a bit overpriced but maybe mushrooms are expensive? However the eggs was cooked to perfection to when you bit into the sandwich the egg yolk would just gooooo everywhere... yummm. This was a great sandwich because you get the meatyness from the mushrooms and how can you go wrong with an egg?! Their lemon chicken pappardelle is OMG out of this WORLD!!!!!! I think this was ($14.50) and wow I would get this again. Order this IF you like lemon because you can actually taste it. I hate it when places promote a flavor in their dish and when you taste it it is impossible to detect. This pasta is cooked al dente and the chicken is a nice juicy piece of meat! Their burger is fantastic as well, the patty has a slight hint of heat, like very slight where you can taste it and not run for a glass of milk. Their pastrami sandwich from what I can remember was extremely delicious as well and has the cutest slices of pickles in them with (again) the BEST BREAD. I swear it's the bread that makes a sandwich (carb lover here). Their butternut squash soup was AMAZING as well. My favorite soup BY FAR here, but I think they only make that soup when it is in season. I have had their rock shrimp mac n' cheese and believe this was a great dish as well (got it a lonnnngggg time ago and can't really remember) but I think anything here is a solid dish so don't be scared to venture out and try their entire menu!!!

Are you hungry? [ ] yes [ ] no Do you have $10? [ ] yes [ ] no Do you love sandwiches? [ ] yes [ ] no If you answered yes to any of the above, I respectfully ask that you step away from your computer (or mobile phone) and head directly to Juno's. My personal favorite Bahn Mi is served here (excellent pork and super fresh crisp veggies). Also, they make some really solid basics like turkey, steak, and burgers. Just go, everything about this place from the service to quality of ingredients requires a try.

$13.95 for mac n cheese??!!!! $9.25 for bahn mi??!!!! Where am I? Oh...oh, yeah...I'm in East Sac having lunch. I can't hate on them for being a little on the pricey side because, admittedly the food was outstanding! The rock shrimp pasta (aka "mac n cheese") was one of the best pasta dishes I've had. Creamy, cheesy, rich, and made with a good amount of shrimp. Nothing like I was expecting but would definitely order again. Too bad they don't serve it with a small piece of garlic toast. I tried the burger (well priced at $10.25), served on a fresh brioche bun, with tomato jam, carmelized onions, machengo cheese, and aioli. Lots of nice flavors that melded together nicely with a very thick and juicy patty. I chose the roasted potatoes as my side, which were thinly sliced, tender, and well-seasoned. As for their famous banh mi...even with all the rave reviews, I couldn't get myself to shell out $9.25 when I could go straight down Stockton Blvd and get 3 of those delicious authentic sandwiches for the same price! But, darn you Juno's for making some tasty food! I just know someday I'll have to give in and indulge in a $9 J Street banh mi.

If you are not prepared to make a little sandwich shop in East Sac a permanent fixture in your life, I suggest you avoid Juno's at all costs. A quarter of the way through my smoked trout sandwich, I peered into my to-go box to survey the situation. My usual thought of "how on earth is a person supposed to finish this whole sandwich", was replaced with "oh no I only have 3/4 of a sandwich left!" I ate the whole thing, plus the side of quinoa, and leaned back in my chair. With my belly jutting forward, my crumb-decorated tee-shirt straining to contain it, my only thoughts were "how soon can I go back to Juno's for another sandwich". There are multiple options for all types but pescatarians will especially appreciate the smoked trout sandwich, a delicious stand-in for roast turkey. The rock shrimp mac 'n' cheese looks like a serious contender, however. Vegheads can check out the haloumi cheese and tomato sandwich or the panko-crusted eggplant sandwich. Meatheads will have the toughest decision, as the sandwich options include turkey, chicken, jamon serrano, steak burger, and bahn mi. No matter your preference, you won't go wrong if you choose the roasted potatoes as your side item. I'll update as I visit again and post about other menu items. Or you may just see updates that say ". . . trout trout trout . . ." (S.O.S. in morse trout!)

We call this a little bite of heaven! Everything there is ALWAYS FRESH and always consistent! the smoked trout sandwiches are AMAZING! I love they make their own bread, it's yummy sometimes the crust is a bit to hard for me personally... The shrimp pasta OMG! I find my self craving that food! Soppressata Salami wonderful! What are they putting in the food??? ..... They must be putting something in it causing people to get addicted to it!? Yes, great quality and very well blended ingredients! As foodies who have a food company, We totally appreciate food that exceeds our own! We love it!

High quality ingredients with a Spanish influence and zero fuss. I was surprised by how informal Juno's Kitchen was. First of all, there's no signage and I had a hard time finding it even with my GPS. It's right across from the Big Spoon on J. After you enter, you just walk up to the counter to order from the menu items hand- written above your head, then sit where you like. I sat at a table on the patio, which was lovely when coupled with a good book. As others have said, it's very dog-friendly, with a bulletin board for local dog pictures and a doggie bowl of water set out on the street. A cool local hang out for dog owners! I had the Membrillo and Jamon sandwich. Membrillo definitely needs to become more popular in America - it was an awesome fruity compliment to the salty jam and the gooey manchego cheese. Only complaint was that the mixed greens that came with my sandwich were very bitter, but I guess that's what I get for ordering greens in the middle of summer.

Amazing food! You must try the chicken sandwich with the delicious crispy prosciutto, heirloom tomatoes and aioli. They take a chicken sandwich and put in on a higher level but all of their food is like that, gourmet and they even bake their own bread. The staff is great too and they even have caller ID and recognize me each time I call in my order. Just fab!

I was introduced to this little gem by a friend, which is the way it seams most people have found this spot. It's small and the sign isnt exactly easy to see either. But I kind of like that its a little midtown secret. It's run by a husband and wife duo and you can really tell they take pride in this labor of love. The food- amazing. Fresh, local, seasoned to perfection and always made with love. Service- you know how your Nana or your Aunt Cookie always treated you like you were A#1? Well thats exactly what you can expect here. Prices- shockingly low for the quality of food. I mean seriously.. you'll pay almost twice as much at Tower and Blackbird is prob 50% more expensive for food that isnt as fresh and tasty as what you'll find at Junos. To sum it up I'd say this is probably my favorite place to eat on the grid and each and every visit there just solidifies its place in my heart.

Ok, so up front let me tell you their food is really good, but after today's experience with a young lady with long dark hair and her rude behavior I will never go back. You can go, but just be warned that you may be subject to rude customer service. I've eaten there plenty of times over the past couple of years, and taken even more food to go, and on occasion my sandwich would come with onion and I would simply pull them off and enjoy my food. Well today, I called ahead and placed my order and was sure to say that I didn't want any onions. However, once I got there to pick up my order, while repeating my order to the young lady at the counter including again no onion, and while at the same time pulling out my card to pay, they girl gave me attitude. She said "she didn't hear me say that over the phone and to let her check to see where they were in preparation of my sandwich. Then she takes a few steps and leans around the corner and says to the cooks in the kitchen, "that to go order is with no onions, he just changed his mind". To which I corrected her and said "no, I did say that over the phone" to which she says again, "I didn't hear you". So after paying, I set outside, and a few minutes later she brought me my order and I said "thank you" to which she didn't respond and simply walked away! I was there between 11:30 and 12 noon, they were not that busy. There were plenty of places to sit and eat inside and only one other person sitting outside. Don't get the wrong impression, she wasn't busy, she just chose to hand me my food and ignore me after I said "thank you". So for that, I'll take my appetite and money and go elsewhere and I'll never eat there again. As mentioned already, the food is good, but poor customer service is never acceptable, and I wish the owner-lady would have been there. I've been there so much that she knows me by name. The young lady today was in need of a serious attitude adjustment, and maybe she was having a bad day, but she didn't have to take it out on me. I hate to even think it, but perhaps she doesn't like Blacks, you see as an African American, you become aware of the attitudes of those who don't like Blacks real quick by the way they treat you. It doesn't matter that they don't know you or anything about you, all they see is your skin-tone, and that's enough for them to determine how they will treat you and interact with you. Why spend your money at some place that makes you question their behavior? You don't, you just go somewhere else, and with that said, again I will never go back there!

Excellent food, great service. I had the pastrami and my wife had the eggplant sandwich. Both were wonderful! Juno is walking distance from the hospital.

Biggest surprise of 2012 thus far! On St. Patty's Day, we passed by this little delicatessen after having a few pints at Bonn Lair. Winning combination. My boyfriend and I stopped in after reading the excellent reviews on Yelp - our hopes were set high. And to be honest, we've walked by this place a bunch of times, only to think that it was a rich people's stop to get baked treats for their dogs. Don't let the logo of Juno fool you - they serve people food here. We split the Bahn Mi sandwich and the soup of the day (french onion). An ethnic wonderland on St. Patty's Day seemed mighty appropriate...and hey! there were potatoes on our plate! The grill on the pork for the Bahn Mi was amazing. Great charred flavor mixed with the bite of the cilantro. Not overly dressed, the bread was crusty as could be and the carrots were nicely pickled. As for the soup, comforting and delectable. We will definitely be stopping by more often!

Yum! Been here twice in two weeks, and brought my boo with me the second time so he could try it too. We had the Banh Mi and Panko Crusted Eggplant. Did not disappoint. Staff is really nice too, which is welcome in Sacramento! if you miss the signage on the sidewalk, look for the large asterisk on the window next door. Small place but better that way. The wait was not long at all considering the place was packed (they only have approximately five tables inside and a few outside). Oh, and they also do to-go orders!

  • Smelly C.

You could easily miss Juno's. It's among other shops and eateries and Juno's has no large sign that says, "I'M HERE!" The window is marked. There's seating right out front (very dog friendly), about four 2-top tables inside, and a back room that I haven't seen yet.. When there's nowhere else to sit, outside or in the front, they start seating people in the "back room". When I go, I'm just prepared to take it to-go in case there's nowhere to sit and if there is.. cool. It's a small place. Everybody's nice. You walk in and the menu items are printed on papers hung up along a line.. like a clothesline. There's also paper menus in front of the register where you order and pay. The sandwiches are really good. They come with your choice of side. Sides will vary day-to-day.. (I've been offered Pan Roasted Potatoes, Mixed Greens, or Quinoa Salad). Half of the sandwich would be good enough but i've found myself liking it so much that I end up finishing it anyway. I've heard seafood and cheese don't go together. I don't hold such prejudices. I'll eat anything and it bothered me more that for their Rock Shrimp Mac 'n Cheese it's called Mac 'n Cheese when they don't use macaroni pasta.. but it's good. Everything's been really good. They have sandwiches, "from the pan", and salads. Your food is brought to you when it's ready. They're good about refilling water. Open for lunch. Close. Then open again for dinner. Street parking. If you haven't gone, go.

Why I waited so long to go here, I don't know. Do yourself a favor. Don't wait. Go now, and start with the Banh Mi. I couldn't speak to my friend while I was eating. He kept laughing at me, in between bites of his chicken pasta with mushrooms, that had the most delicate lemon flavor to it. If there's one thing people know about me, it's that I don't shut up. Thank you Juno's; you rendered me silent. Their Banh Mi consisted of some of the freshest bread I've had from a sandwich shop, toasted delicately, with incredibly thin strips of chicken, and cilantro/carrots/jalapeños with an aioli that was perfectly spread - just the right amount. I chose a potato salad, which consisted of red and sweet potato slices, gently salted, which melted in my mouth and complimented my sandwich beautifully. The selections I saw blew me away. Trout sandwich? Mac n Cheese with shrimp? And oh man, the burger is seriously high on my list for next time. Everyone working was incredibly friendly and interactive. No rush, no hurry, smiles, genuinely welcoming. Bonus: Bonn Lair is next door, should the mood strike you for a beer with your sandwich....

Sandwiches, salads, pasta and the occasional burger. Sounds like nothing special, right? You'd be mistaken. This place is the epitome of the "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant. My wife literally walked right past it when we visited for the first time. I'm quite glad we didn't keep going! I sampled the Banh Mi, and she had the chicken pasta. I've since eaten more here, but those two still probably stand out the most. Fresh is the word of the day here. The bread is baked fresh. The pasta appears to be freshly made. It feels like they use a lot of herbs in various dishes, too. It gives everything a (you guessed it!) fresh taste that was very enjoyable. And the food comes quickly, too. Can't beat that. At the end of my first meal, I had a true sign that I was enjoying myself: I wanted to go back for a second sandwich. I didn't, but I checked it out again shortly and I was equally pleased. I expect that I'll be a regular here in no time.

Today was our second trip to Juno's in as many weeks. Between the two visits we have tried four different sandwiches and they were all great. On both visits the staff was slammed with customers, but still managed great customer service. Portions are huge and we wound up bringing half of our lunches home. Seating can be some what limited but, hey McKinley Park is just a few blocks away and a great place for a picnic. In addition to somewhat limited seating parking can be a challenge on J Street. Very dog friendly place.

This place has been on my "must try" list for a long time and last night I finally made it to Juno! Why did I wait so long? The staff is super friendly and I was greeted when I walked in. I ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich with roasted potatoes for the side. YUM!! YUM!! It was the best sandwich I have had in a long time. The sandwich was a good size and delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and the sandwich had the perfect amount of ingredients and spread. I believe they bake their own bread and it was perfect in every way. The potatoes were delicious as well. Because I can't go anywhere without ordering something with chocolate I ordered a nugget too. Overall I love this place and if I have guest visiting this is where I will take them to have a yummy meal. Thank you Juno for your delicious food!

This place is amazing. It's also tiny. Maybe 6 tables for 2 inside and a few tables outside. Tiny. Tiny yet amazing. As you enter, you smell freshly baked bread. Once I smell fresh baked bread, I am hooked. I ordered the Chicken Pasta; ohhh myyy! I love their chicken pasta, chicken is juicy that is cooked with lemon, garlic, mushrooms and olive oil that is placed on handmade pasta. So simple and amazing. My husband ordered the Pastrami sandwich; he couldn't finish it. He also couldn't talk and only nodded when I asked if it was good. All good signs! What I would like to try next is the Kale Cesar. I saw this ordered frequently by to-go orders and people eating there.

A new deli in Sacramento and one with such high acclaim from my fellow reviewers, you bet I was on board to try it out. As I sit here pondering exactly what I am going to write, I truly question whether I can do this place justice after all of the early high praise that has been given. The menu is as eclectic as any I've ever seen in a deli and the sandwich options offer new variations that I have yet to encounter. To that I commend Juno for having the guts to do something unique and not just being a copy cat in an already full sandwich world. I had a tough time deciding between the Pastrami and the "Today's Steak," but ultimately went the route of the steak with caramelized onions and bleu cheese on their own hand made sour artesian bread. My choice did not disappoint. The steak was nicely done and had a good flavor to it while the blue cheese added a nice contrast while not stealing the show. I see that several of the other reviewers appreciated the roasted potatoes. I will go against the crowd on this one. Though the potatoes are a better pairing to the sandwich than say a bag of chips, I did not find them to be anything particularly special. Some other items to note about this restaurant, it is not very visible and you'll definitely want to pay close attention to the address if visiting for the first time or unfamiliar with the area. Secondly, there are only a few two person tables so if coming here at a busy time you could easily have a wait or may want to consider it for take out. As much as I appreciated the sandwich, the best part about my experience here was the customer service. There is something to be said for a local and independent establishment where the Owner's livelihood is directly at stake.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!! If you have never tried Juno's before, you are absolutely in for a delicious treat! My cousins had come into town and wanted to take my family to lunch, so we yelped some good sandwich shops and decided on Juno's. It was a nice, sunny Saturday afternoon and all the tables and seats in the front were completely full and there were people standing in line to take their orders to-go. However, they have a small, private room in the back, which they set up for us to sit down. Out of six of us, we ordered three "Today's Steak" sandwiches, two Banh Mi's, and one burger. For the Banh Mi, although it was flavorful, I'm a fan of the authentic Vietnamese sandwich, thus, the Banh Mi was not my favorite sandwich here. However, the Today's Steak sandwich was completely out of this world! The steak is tender and juicy and mixed with the cheese and the sauce and that fantastically fresh bread, I was in Steak Sandwich Heaven!!! And that Burger! It was dripping with burger juice and flavor I was licking my fingers after every bite! I can't get enough of this place and have been back several times for pick up orders. This place is a must try if you so much as enter into Sacramento County!!

This place is okay-the prices are a little high but it's probably based on the area. They have some specials that are really good. One of the girls at the counter is not always polite, but maybe when I have gone it's really busy and they have to get through the lunch rush.

My BF and I attempted to dine at this place a year ago but changed our minds once we arrived (not sure why). A year later after salivating over other yelper's photos of this place we made another attempt to dine here. Restaurant is very tiny with maybe 4 small tables that can seat 2 each. If you are ordering to go, you can place your order at the counter. If you are dining in, you can take a seat and an employee will bring you menus and take your order there. I like that. We decided to split the pastrami sandwich and the shrimp mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was about $14 (yikes), but the reviews were good and I LOVE me some mac and cheese. Food arrived quickly and as expected...mac and cheese looked divine. They used rigatoni pasta I believe. It was a large portion with shrimp and bread crumbs sprinkled on top. I loved it!! The cheesy sauce was perfect and I know they are just bread crumbs, but damn...why is every bite better with it? I didn't care for the shrimp and would rather have had pancetta or bacon. My BF didn't like the fact that the shrimp wasn't deveined. The pastrami sandwich was just eh to me. I think the bread was brushed with balsamic...weird. The potatoes were also just ok but when dipped in my mac and cheese sauce...BAM! Hella good! It is definitely pricey for lunch but for that mac and cheese...so worth it. I'm sad I didn't walk through Juno's door a year ago but they got me now.

Neighborhood joint. Great to sit out front on a nice day. Small place, not good for large parties, however they are friendly and will try to find a way to make it work. I LOVE how dog friendly they are. There's dog bowls outside and a dog bed and the came and brought my dog a treat. Now that the weather is changing, we typically take it to go. I love the vegetarian sandwich and the salami sandwich. One dish I really couldn't stomach was the pasta with lemon. Yuck.. I'll stick to the sammies or mac n cheese going forward.

This is my absolute favorite place to have lunch! Everything on their menu is delicious. I'm currently stuck on the Smoked Trout Sandwich and Kale Caesar with Chicken! However, the Bahn Mi is the best in town and the Eggplant Sandwich is soooo good! It's a must try, you will be hooked!

All other sandwich shops should be embarrassed...Juno's puts them to shame. I've tried 4 sandwiches so far (chicken, burger, eggplant, and a daily special)...ALL have been amazing. And get the quinoa! So good!!!

Really lovely! I have driven past this place many times and never noticed it. I dropped by for a late lunch with a friend, she got the wagyu burger and I got the turkey sandwich. The chef back in the kitchen greeted us nicely and then another fella came out to take our order. The place itself is small, with just a handful of tables inside for 2-4 people... however it does have a doggie water bowl out front, so cute! I thought a turkey sandwich was "safe" and I wasn't very hungry... however it was pretty spectacular. Wonderful thick crunchy toasted bread with parmesan cheese melted into it somehow... fresh turkey, pesto, cheese, and a bright happy tomato. You get to choose your side, I went with the roasted potatoes.. they were no joke cooked to perfection, bite size, and seasoned just right. Portions are nice sizes, almost too much for one person but not enough to share. Prices are fair for a midtown eatery; $8-12 for a plate and they have bottles of soda and water available. I'm thrilled to have found a nicer sandwich place that uses quality ingredients without trying to be too "hip". The guy working the front counter was very nice too, we ended up moving to the one outside table in front of the joint and he brought out silverware and checked on us to see if we were enjoying the meal.

Went to Juno's Yesterday with my two sisters, one brother in law and 95 year old mother.. It was pouring down rain.. Peeked our head's in but did not seem to be available space for us so we sloshed are way across the street to another eatery... The waitress came running out and shouted from across the street... Please come back ... we will make room.. SO GLAD SHE DID!!!!! One amazing place and I am still dreaming about my lunch... Smoked Trout sand-which and each of us had something different with the most delicious soups!!! We were all ecstatic and will certainly be returning soon.. All home made breads and incredible flavors in all of their delights.. You will not be disappointed and the service and hospitality was over the top and constant traffic coming through the doors.. Two thumbs up!!!

Some Yelpers seem to dole out 5-star reviews for any place that seems above average. For example, the page for the Arden outpost of the slightly-above-mediocre In-N-Out Burger features eleven (!) five-star posts. Personally, I don't give out 5 stars with abandon. According to the Yelp system, 4 stars is "Yay! I'm a fan," and a place needs to be pretty darn good to get to that point. Juno has gotten two 4-star reviews from me, and now after a number of visits I feel they're just about up to 5-star status. Each and every time, I have been astonished at the uniform attention to detail, friendly service, and unflinching flavors present in their dishes. Attention local restaurateurs: this is what giving a genuine damn about food looks and tastes like.

Get: Bahn mi cauliflower soup Pastrami Turkey pesto Pass: Wagyu burger This place is tiny! And hard to find. Literally right across the street from PGR noodle. I got the wagyu burger. My mom got the pastrami. My gf got the bahn mi. My mom got the cauliflower soup too. It was a curry mix. Not too grainy and very good. Flavors weren't bold but it's cauliflower. I would recommend it. The bacon bits were a nice touch. The Pastrami was delicious. The burger was okay but not worth 10 bucks. It was lacking something. Mainly flavor. The bahn mi was really good! Highly recommend this place. Owners are really friendly. And thu bake their own bread! Second time I went back I got the turkey pesto. SO good. Not much else to say about it. just eat it.

Excellent quality of ingredients! My husband, daughter and I were able to enjoy a nice lunch here. We ordered the Banh Mi, Grilled Chicken sandwich and children's mac and cheese. The 2 sandwiches had well seasoned meats, very fresh veggies and bread that was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. Our sandwiches were paired with organic greens, but you are given a choice of a few different sides, which may differ daily. Our daughter's mac and cheese was very hot and required several minutes to cool down, so she could not eat it right away. Nevertheless, it tasted good. The only thing is the front dining area is fairly small and you may have to sit pretty close to another party next to you. However, given the square footage of the entire deli, it is understandable they could not accommodate more seating. It would be difficult to accommodate a larger party.

I really love this little local spot. They have done so much with such a little space. They offer fresh, tasty, and healthy salads and sandwiches and a few small plates too. I'm vegan and love the vegan sandwich but they offer non veggie stuff too. They always use fresh baked bread, never store bought loaf bread. The salads are always substantial and crunchy and fresh. I order mine minus the cheese and they are so sweet to always add some extra veggies or something without me having to ask. much appreciated you guys! Check this spot out for simple down to earth food and you will be hooked just like me.

This place is great! Other reviews have explained that there is no big sign for this place and that it is tucked away on J st, and they are also correct that this food is amazing! They have a limited selection, but they have a rotating special and the choices that they have are relatively unique. Sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes are what they do here but it is all done very well and with several veggie options. They make their own bread daily which is a nice touch. The service is great, our cashier/server was very thoughtful and engaging. She came around the counter and stood with us while we looked over their options and we picked her brain on the different choices available. The service felt like you were at someone's home. Someone who can cook damn well and is a gracious host. This homey service is exemplified by the dog-friendly atmosphere. I felt bad that I left the pooch at home because there is a strong dog deco theme going on here. Out front they have a dog bed, a water tower for dogs, and the door stop is a small French bull dog statue. There is a dog on the sign in the window and a dog statue at the counter where you order. Don't let the hound-centrism fool you, this place serves up some great food for humans. I am definitely coming back soon to try their hamburger that I keep hearing so much about. You will be hard-pressed to find another sandwich shop with this level of freshness and quality.

This is my go to neighborhood place. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The wild arugula salad with roasted beets and marcona almonds is the BEST! If you need a little more protein add the grilled chicken, you will not be disappointed. Their mac N' cheese with rock shrimp is also delicious. Also, be sure to get one of the Nugget cookies (oats, nuts, chocolate chips, other deliciousness) for dessert. The staff is very helpful and super nice. It can get a little crowded Friday and Saturday nights if the weather is not nice enough to sit outside - inside seating is 4-5 tables. We often do our order for take-out. Great cafe for a casual meal.

After seeing a beautifully juicy, medium rare burger by Juno's in the Sac Food Magazine, I had to stop by here with my husky. Service was great and friendly, though the customers that came in were a little too highbrow East Sac for my taste. The dog was well accommodated with sidewalk seating, a bed, water bowl, and treats. Ordered the burger and confirmed medium rare with the waitress. What came out unfortunately, was a medium well burger that had lost a lot of juices and flavor *big sad face*. I realize I could have sent it back, but I hate doing that, and I bet the upper echelon East Sac crowd do that far too often. My burger dream was shattered; the magazine photo I realized was only a staged, figment of my imagination. The quest continues.

We had heard a great things about Junos and it lived up to all of them. We had the turkey sandwhich with the basil pesto and it was delicious! I really like that they give you the option of roasted potatoes, quinoa or a mixed green salad. I got the salad, pretty standard nothing spectacular. My bf got the quinoa and it was good, sweeter than I expected. We also got the beet and arugula salad, perfect for summer. Lightly dressed and not too heavy. Then we ended with a baked cookie, perfect ending to a great lunch. I will be back to enjoy lunch on their patio! There is limited seating on the patio and I could see it getting very crammed in here because it is a smaller spot so get there early! Patio is dog friendly with water and a dog bed, so cute!

I literally just walked in the door after my first Juno experience and felt compelled to yelp it. I went for lunch with my husband and two dogs. They are totally dog friendly, which means the world to me. They have a doggy water bowl and bed outside for dogs to use and the lady even brought out doggy biscuits for my babies to eat! I had the Smoked Trout Sandwich. It was to die for. The trout was fresh, the bread was crusty and the aioli was the perfect compliment to tie it all together. With my furry companions, I will be going back and trying other dishes!

Wow, just...wow. I was excited to hear that the former owner of Ravenous Cafe was opening a place in East Sac, and some of my favorite Yelpers were raving about it. I can't believe it took me so long to try it, though. As Jessica T predicted, Juno's is going to be a permanent fixture in my life from now on. For my first visit, I got the pork bahn mi on a warm summery afternoon. It was a perfect, refreshing balance of delicious, handmade bread filled with crunchy veggies, perfectly executed pork, and a hot pepper bite. Next time, I'm trying their burger. In fact, I plan to try everything on their (often changing menu). That ought keep me out of trouble for a while.

This is a deli run by a classically trained chef. I am so glad I don't live or work nearby - I would be SO FAT (ok, so much fatter - lol). Everything is unbelievably good. LOVE the pastrami sandwich beyond all things. While everything I've tried is incredible, I dream about the pastrami. My husband is really partial to the rock-shrimp mac n' cheese. Try this place - you won't be dissappointed.

We went here with friends, and I'd never heard of it. When I got there, I was concerned that each sandwich was in the $10 range at this tiny hole in the wall, and I didn't want to get ripped off with some subway or blimpie quality meal for ten clams. I was stunned. There were 8 of us, and most of us had never been here. Everyone ordered different sandwiches, and everyone loved what they ordered. My wife and I shared with each other, so I ate half of mine and half of hers. They were both first rate. I think the owner is the cook, and he is way overqualified for a tiny spot like this. But we are the beneficiaries. This place is worth coming to any time you're within a half hour drive. Simply outstanding. We keep going back.

One Juno, two Juno sandwiches in my tummy. Well worth the one inch gain on my waistline. Lunch with my husband and 6 year old son included: Vegan sandwich-premium veggies sauté between balsamic soaked crispy bread and truffle oil drizzle served with a lightly dressed mix green. It would be a good lunch sandwich for a carnivore too. Smoked trout sandwich-pink trout fillet with apples, arugula and Manchego cheese. This can be enhanced with more trout. A little sweet but it works. Kid's grilled cheese sandwich- sophisticated yet familiar enough for kids to enjoy. It's a soft crust american cheese sandwich cut in three large pieces with a side of perfectly pan fried seasoned fingerling potatoes. Thumbs up from my son and I stole a few bites. Pappardelle pasta with rock shrimp- dinner size portion full of caramelized onions, sautéed in a variety of fat flavors. My husband wanted a nap after. I will be back.

Why, why, why do you have to make the best sandwiches???? I have had the salami sandwich, the chicken sandwich and the burger- ALL AMAZING!!! I think my favorite is between the salami and the burger. OK-salami sandwich! It had an delish sauce on it and pickled onions and peppers. YUM YUM YUM! I dont know what to do- Im going to become fat and broke if they keep making such great food.

10/2/12 Still AMAZING. Just be prepared that now they are quite busy during the lunch hour! They have a small storefront with limited seating, in addition to outside seating. If you want to eat there- get there early. I got mine to go- It came in a very nice little box and we took it to the park to eat. I still highly recommend. 7/14/12 WOW!! What a great place. The food was gourmet and delicious. I was not expecting it. They took a simple sandwich and made it an experience. The bread is freshly made, the sauces are unique, and the ingredients are fresh. The sides are delicious, I would recommend any. I can't wait to return!

Just another 5 star review. Love the nuggets. And the potatoes. Sometimes I feel like the portion size of the potatoes is too small, but I always leave full. Side salad is killer. The bread is perfect. Mac and cheese is creamy and rich. What more do you need?

I first heard about Juno's from a friend that lives around the block from this place. She had ordered the banh mi once or twice before and insisted that I try the place out. I ordered their chicken pasta while my friend ordered the banh mi for what must have been her 3rd or 4th time. After taking a bite of her banh mi, I could see why. The bread was fatter than your standard Lee's sandwich banh mi and the freshly grilled chicken elevated the sandwich to new levels. The typical accompaniment of pickled veggies, cilantro, and jalapenos rounded off the flavor to ensure that there was no mistake that you were eating a banh mi. Absolutely delicious. I have to admit that I wasn't terribly excited about the quinoa side dish that came with the banh mi. It was okay, but didn't really add to the sandwich in my opinion. My chicken pasta was also good, albeit a bit lemony. The pasta noodles and the cream sauce were delicious, while the chicken and mushrooms really made the dish enjoyable for my savory palate. However, I felt like the preserved lemons were a bit much... personal taste probably, but after biting into a few of them, I couldn't shake the taste of pine sol out of my head. No worries, just pull 'em out and you got a great dish on your hands. The only real shame about the place is that they do not carry any beer or wine. I'm not sure if a license is in the works, but this simple fact won't keep me from coming back. I'm determined to try out each of their dishes.

It is truly amazing what comes out of this 850 sq. ft. storefront on busy J Street in East Sac. At first glance, it looks like your run-of-the-mill deli with a few tables. But just walk inside and you'll see a clothes line full of specials, sandwiches, and salads that you'd expect to see at other bistros but at more reasonable prices and made with considerably more care. For example, we went for dinner tonight and had a deelish roasted quail stuffed w/ a tasty blend of chicken (yes, chicken) and corn meal stuffing, along with a nice serving of sliced, roasted potatoes on a bed of argula. My companion had the classic burger on a perfect bun. We started off with a house-made French onion soup that was absolutely perfect -- not too salty at all. Total with drinks: $38 including tip. We weren't too bothered with the small seating area and decor since we ate outside at one of the two tables out on J Street and watched the sun go down. The chef and the cashier were both super friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, a terrific dining experience.

I was takin' a stroll along J st. when I passed by this little nondescript joint and decided to stop in for a sammich n soda. got the jamon serrano complete w/ greens, tomatoes, 'n a slice of manchago cheese and a side of roasted potatoes - awesome. the menu choices are displayed on sheets of paper hung from a string over the counter and all of them sounded great. the service was friendly and though I ordered my sammich to-go, I ended up chillin' at a table outside and finishing up my meal in the sun. and to think that I almost just walked past and kept going... the food was so good that it makes me want to try the other dishes juno's has to offer, and I most definitely will.

I frequent a pub about a block away from Junos and have stopped in for sandwiches and such many times. Every sandwich I've had was wonderful - the banh mi, eggplant, and salami. The mac & cheese is beyond heavenly, though a tad on the rich side. The only drawback is the prices - $14 for the above mentioned mac & cheese is a bit outrageous.

I want to give four stars, but it's for selfish reasons. The guy that started this place used to own/cook for Ravenous, which is a restaurant in my neighborhood. Ever since he left, the restaurant isn't as good and I no longer eat at Ravenous. So I'm a little bitter over that. However, I won't hold it against him for opening and moving to Junos. I have been here multiple times and it's always top notch in service and quality of food. oh my goodness, it's heaven when I eat their banh mi sandwiches or shrimp mac 'n cheese. I'm usually weird and prefer boxed mac 'n cheese (think Kraft) over fancypants mac 'n cheeses, but dang, I loove me some Pluto's shrimp mac 'n cheese!!! Heaven. Added bonus? It's a couple blocks from where I work!!

The best vegan sandwich I've ever had. So tasty and flavorful, and I loved the homemade bread that it was served on. The side of roasted potatoes was very tasty too! Can't wait to come back and try something else. This is a nice little gem in east Sac!

You seriously can't find a better deli in this city. They're busy for a reason. I've tried pretty much everything on the menu by now, and I can say that there's nothing that's not good here. I got the eggplant sandwich, which, to me, sounded terrible because I'm not an eggplant kinda guy, but I was not eating meat that week. To my surprise... I guess I like eggplant... at least when it's done right (i.e. at Juno's). The chef here has a background in food and knows what he's doing. GREAT BREAD from here as well. Take a loaf home with you. You will not regret it! Totally dog friendly, btw. The spot is named after their dog, Juno, so feel free to bring yours.

Have you ever taken a bite out of something and just stared at it because it was SO GOOD? This was my reaction when I first had a Juno's sandwich. Everything is super tasty. The staff is made up of a total of four people. Two chefs in the back and two taking orders and running food. Juno's is always packed during lunch and it is almost impossible to call in a lunch order between 12 and 1. But, even so, you are willing to battle it out in line and wait for the best sandwiches ever. Juno's prides itself as a local establishment that deals only with local goods produce. In fact, the owner bakes his own bread from his own special recipe. You can tell the people here have a respect for food and care about the quality of food they produce. I am also partial to a business that puts out dog bowls for the local pups. Juno one ups everyone by putting out a jug-like water dispenser for your doggies hydrating needs. If your pet joins you for lunch or dinner on the sidewalk, expect to get a delightful doggie treat (I'm talking chicken wrapped sweet potato or jerky) to keep em occupied.

Saw the great reviews that this restaurant received, so I ordered some takeout last Thursday the 14th. I got the hamburger, and honestly wasn't impressed at all. The bun was dry, and the medium rare patty came out very well done instead, almost like a hockey puck. The potatoes on the side were ok, but half of them were undercooked, raw, and crispy. I'm willing to give this place another shot- I realize that the burger probably isn't their specialty, but still not overly impressive.

New favorite spot in East Sac! Had the Bahn Mi (sub chicken), papardelle with rock shrimp and carmelized onions and the kids mac n cheese. The Bahn Mi is EXCELLENT. I tend to judge a dish by its craveability and I have to say that this sandwich will be on my mind for a while. The papardelle was light and perfectly seasoned and the kids mac n cheese was made with the giant rotini and was on the salty side but sitll good. Really nice staff, great food..nice addition to East Sac.

Wanted a steak sandwich and unfortunately it was Saturday and Jaime's on Broadway is closed on Weekends. Immediately pulled up yelp and beside Togo's coming up as #1 (?), Jaime's was #2 on the list and just a little ways down this place I had never heard of called Juno's. Hey man, 4 1/2 stars and I'm going to give it a shot no matter what. Just like a few of the other reviews have stated, it can be very difficult to find if you have never been. There is no real signage out front and it's hidden across the street from a taqueria at 37th and J, north side of the street. I walked in and was surprised immediately at how small it is inside. No bother, I'm here for the food. Ordered a steak sandwich with roasted potatoes and sat down to wait. Food was ready in just over 5 minutes and this was with a table waiting for their food next to me with at least 14 people.... Inside this tiny establishment. Loved it because I have absolutely no patience and I hate waiting. Just sayin'. Even after a twenty minutes drive home this sandwich was absolutely off the hook. The thinly sliced steak, carmelized onions, greens, cheese and whatever sauce they use inside all blended together for a fantastic all around flavor. On top of that they serve roasted potatoes with a couple veggies and sweet potatoe chips as well. Great meal for right around $10. I ate about 3/4 of the sandwich and saved a smidge because I knew my girl was going to want to try it. Two hours later and refridgerator cold she took one bite and said she wants an entire whole one of these to herself right now.... Too bad they closed at 9! Giving it four stars because I have only been one time and had one menu item. Maybe that is a little unfair of me but I will be returning here at least bi-weekly and afer I have tried a few more dishes I am sure I will be bumping this up to a 5 star, just like ti ought to be. Oh, and a side note, they service and attitude of the joint is stellar as well.

I've had Juno's twice, ordering the Bahn Mi sandwich both times. It was so good the first time that I couldn't justify ordering something else. Also, that it was one of the lower priced items and I was taking lunch to go, caused me to stick with the sandwich. I've been tempted by the rock shrimp pasta and the rock shrimp mac and cheese, but it's hard to justify a $13.00 casual weekend lunch. I'm not claiming that the place is overpriced because the ingredients top to bottom appear to be top notch. The green salad on the side comes with a nice mix of greens and a tasty vinaigrette. I sampled the quinoa side and thought it was better than average. The bread on the sandwich is great, as was the house-made Asian salad and aioli. The Bahn Mi is so tasty (tangy, sweet, spicy, juicy) that I may never get to try anything else. Guess I'll have to head there for dinner at some point. Based on the Bahn Mi alone, I give this place 5 stars.

It's the place next to the pizza guys on J. I was wondering if we had it right when we walked up as there was brighter lights outside the pizza guys than even signage for this place, but that was no deterrent for finding one of the newest hot spots for good eats in Sac. Open from Mon-Sat 11:30 am - 8 pm this place caters mainly to a lunch, early dinner, and take out crowd. And the phone didn't stop ringing the entire time we were there, so they must be doing something right. Upon walking in, the first thing I saw was a clothesline, and attached were all their daily specials consisting of: sandwiches, their famous burger, entrees, and sides. The sandwiches ranged from Today's Steak - caramelized onions, blue cheese & roasted garlic alioli. $9.5 to Panko Crusted Eggplant - roasted peppers, tomato, Fontina cheese, basil aioli & balsamic vinegar. $7.5. Although the sandwiches looked wonderful I headed for the Rock Shrimp with Spanish Chorizo, white wine, parsley and garlic $10.50 and a side of Mixed Mushrooms - garlic, parsley, wine & truffle oil. $4.75, finished with a side of house-made bread for $1.50 -- my first impression of both of these dishes was that they were exceedingly better versions of dishes I've had a Tapa the World. Great sauces, clean flavors, and who doesn't love well cooked mushrooms. Both are Spanish dishes and the sauces were soo good, that although I was out of bread a this time, I very much wanted to take the drippings home just to get more bread and finish them up. There food is not only beautiful, but affordable, and well executed making me very much wanna go back and see what I was missing with those sandwiches and there increasingly famous burger with Manchago.

3.5 stars I really wanted to like this place based off the yelp hype, but it was just ok for me. Like all other reviews noted it's easy to miss because there really is no signage indicating where it's at. (It's directly across street from PGR Thai.) I ordered the steak sandwich and added blue cheese as well as shared the rock shrimp mac and cheese. The sandwich was good and the steak was juicy and perfectly cooked, however slightly underseasoned for my liking. The manchego cheese was delicious on it as well as the blue cheese that I added. Yes, I like my cheese. It came with a side salad and it was just normal. The mac and cheese was good, portion size was large. Tasted more buttery than cheesy. Might have been the huge rigatoni that was used that didn't hold the cheese inside the noodle. I can see the charm of this cute deli and the food was good but don't think I'll be making the trek just to eat here.

Juno's makes wonderful sandwiches, served on homemade bread. The selections go way beyond the usual turkey and cheese. My husband had the banh mi and I had the membrillo (quince paste) and jamon. Both were excellent and we ended up swapping midway through. They have a few homemade side dishes. We had the quinoa salad, which was very good. The one drawback is that the space is REALLY small, but the food definitely doesn't suffer as a result.

  • Matt H.

Despite a janky buildout, minimal seating and a crappy obscure location this place cranks out very good homemade food. I wish they'd come down to the Bay Area and visit Blue Barn in San Francisco to understand how they could polish this place up into being a real player in the homestyle cafe world. Kale salad a bit dry, Mac and Cheese with shrimp great same with Chicken sandwich. Try it you'll like it. An oasis in the world of Subways, Quiznos, Mr. Pickles, Togos and any other shitty processed food deli. This business would triple or double at a minimimum in a better location!

well-constructed and delicious serrano ham sandwich. meat was sliced paper thin with sheets of savory manchego on top, rocket, and roasted peppers for a little bit of sweetness, compactly sandwiched between sliced house baked sourdough. yum! will definitely be back to try the smoked trout sandwich.

Is it possible to actually get drunk off of food? This place is so good that when I left I actually felt intoxicated. I had the turkey pesto sandwich with roasted potatos and I'm hooked! This place is very small but that is part of the charm. There is not one thing that I would change and I can't wait to go again.

Absolutely the best sandwich in town! We came here after a college tour at Sacramento State. It was 5 min down the street. I had the chicken sandwich which was AMAZING , and my parents had the smoked salmon sandwich which was also awesome. Staff was super nice and fast. Definitely stop by if you are in town- it is so worth it!

Wow, I am very impressed by this tiny eatery that serves delicious food and has excellent service! It is tiny though, with only about 4 tables inside and 2 outside. I kept looking at everyone's dishes and they all looked so good! But I was so tantilized by my menu selection: I HIGHLY recommend the salami sandwich. Yummy salty flavors, upscale ingredients, and grilled bread made for quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The sandwich came with some organic greens as well. The service was great and our water glasses remained full throughout our meal. It looks like their menu changes and possibly varies with ingredients that are in season (this is just my guess). I say this because each menu item is typed on a piece of paper and stringed up across the restaurant, similar to a laundry line where items can be removed and replaced by other items if needed. Very cute idea! I already want to take a trip back!

Incredible food and service! Probably the best chicken pasta (with prosciutto, arugula, and mushrooms, in a white wine sauce) that I've ever had. We had young children with us and the owner went out of her way to make them feel special - including getting on her hands and knees to level a table that was slightly off.

A simple menu, delicious and fresh ingredients, originality, and welcoming environment come together to make a fabulous place! It only seats about 15 people both inside and out, but this little gem is absolutely wonderful! So far having had their burger(superb quality and wonderfully unique flavor), the steak sandwich(one of the best I've tried, with flavorful delicious steak), and the chicken sandwich with serano ham(absolutely delicious with amazing flavor), I'd say nothing there would dissappoint! The bread is made in house, and is perfect.

I LOVE this place. I have been there at least once a week for the last month 1/2 or so and have yet to have a bad meal. The food reminds me a little of Magpie in that it's delicious , fresh, and always creatively prepared with unique ingredients. The bread they serve on their sandwiches is delicious. I Had a pasta dish for the first time tonight that was out of this world. Regretfully, the place is very tiny(only about 4 tables inside) but if the weather is nice you can sit out front as well.

My brother and I came here on a Sunday to check out the bahn mi I'd been hearing about. We decided to split it, and eat outside on the patio. The sandwich was big enough for the both of us, but I think I like Golden Bear's take a little bit more for the price. Still, a nice hole in the wall in a great neighborhood. I'll be back to try some of the other dishes.

Roughly a 3.5 star place... At this place, it is all about the food. Here you'll get well prepared sandwiches, salads and specials with good quality ingredients. My banh mi was middle of the road, unfortunately, with the pork inside even a bit overcooked and bland. The side salad was adequate; the special side salad of quinoa was much better. The service was excellent for an order at the counter place... we even got refills of water. It really is a deli with some simple tables inside and out. The decor and ambiance are subpar, even for the category of fast casual deli/cafe it is.

Had lunch the other day, based on the recommendation of my friend. Wow, what a great friend. Very friendly staff, my water was always full, nice atmosphere sitting outside. As for the lunch, I had the Bahn Mi, I believe, pork sandwich. Spicy, flavorful, on great bread. I will be back for more.

Really enjoyed my first visit. Never saw the inside as the waitress greeted us as we were spotting a sidewalk table and told us sit, she would bring us a menu. Great service. Loved the eggplant sandwich! Love that there are water bowls outside for the dogs! I will be back, want to try the pastrami next!!

I would just like to second what Jessica T. said about this place becoming a fixture in your life. I went there again tonight for the sixth straight week and while I was waiting for my food I kept thinking to myself, "I'm so lucky for having found this place." The food is always well prepared, the owner/chef knows exactly what goes well together and uses the right amounts, cooks everything to perfection and, as a bonus because I don't really care about speed, they get you out the door quickly. They're pros and it shows. Damn, that was awful.

  • Jeremy P.

$11.25 for sandwich, roasted potatoes and bottle of coke. Food quality is above subway, togo's etc, but you are paying for it. Prices on sandwiches about $1 to $1.50 too much and amount of potatoes was minuscule. If your going here to fill your belly you might want to go elsewhere. If your going for quality and have the cash this is a good sandwich spot. I might go here once a month but $11.25 for lunch and this wasn't the cheapest sandwich is a bit too steep for my budget.

Delicious! I had lunch today with some work friends, and the food was tasty. I had the steak sandwich - the meat was tender and moist and the bread was crunchy and perfect. My friends had the hamburger (which looked so good) and a chicken sandwich (which also looked good). I liked my side of roasted potatoes but half of my group didn't care for them. Very small location and the food was pricey, good but pricey.

I heard about this place from two other people who couldn't stop raving about it. I first tried to go on a random weekday afternoon around 430. The sign said "back at 530" so I was out of luck. My next attempt came at around 730 on a weeknight and I had better luck. Just about every sandwich has gotten good reviews from those I talked to, but I wanted something a little different. I went with the Banh Mi sandwich. It was incredible. Fresh ingredients, still warm after walking half a mile back home with it, and served with some excellent roasted potatoes. The pork was perfectly cooked, and the veggies were fresh. Only drawback is these sandwiches are slightly overpriced. Mine was $9.50. I'd eat there 3 times a week if they were closer to $7, but that's fine, it just means the place is a little more of a "special occasion" sandwich. 5 stars. I'll be back!

    (5)
  • Lynne B.

Not impressed. I have ordered takeout 3 different occasions and was disappointed 3 out of 3 visits. The food is good but skimpy for the price, my biggest complaint is the customer service or shall I say LACK of. Every time I have gone in to pick up my food it has not been ready, and I have had to wait at least 10-15 minutes for it after ordering at least 20-30 minutes before getting there. The staff is abrupt and seems as though your business has no value to them. They have a magnet on the register that reads " God knows if you don't tip." Really?! You are making sandwiches! (And I have tipped every time by the way). Today was the final straw, I was told it would be 40 minutes until my food was ready, I got there a few minutes after I was told it would be ready, and still had to wait 10 minutes (the store was empty). I get back to work and realize that the food I was given was incorrect! I called back to let them know and was asked what I expected them to do about it ( I was pretty taken back by this response, especially after paying $24 for 2 sandwiches). I was told on my next visit they would make my sandwich free of charge, I graciously thanked the girl for her offer, however I will probably NEVER go back regardless of what they offer. 3 strikes and your out! It's disappointing that a place that serves decent food can be ruined by sour attitudes.

This place is truly a gem! I've had the salami and the serrano ham sandwiches, as well as the cauliflower and manchego cheese soup. Each was an extravaganza of flavors in my mouth - tasty aiolis, fresh vegetables, flavorful meat (teehee). They seem to like their manchego cheese, which is fine by me. Their roasted potatoes include sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes! Roasted! I plan to go back today for their delicious-sounding sauteed mushroom dish. And apparently they have oysters. Oysters!

Just stopped in here for a quick dinner pick up-they close at 8 thank goodness! Although its a small place it's perfect for lunch and dinner. I got the steak sandwich-carmelized onions, blue cheese and garlic aioli. This sandwich is AMAMZING! Blue cheese isn't too sharp and the steak just melts. They are constantly adding sandwiches and love that they have wine! This is an amazing stop-love that it opened up! The staff is so nice-they gave me a profiterole while I waited

Excellent sandwiches and farm-fresh deli food. If you haven't tried it yet, you owe it to yourself to stop by. The only downside is that it's small; don't try to go with more than 3 or 4 people unless you plan to get it to go. Every time I go I struggle to decide between one of the 5-6 sandwiches I have tried and something new. It's hard to go wrong when everything is so good!

All you need to do is go here and order the bahn mi and you will see what the hype is all about. This place is quaint and unassuming but their food is really fresh and good. Sit outside, and they'll even bring your dog some water and a treat.

Juno's is one of the main places that I'm going to miss the most when I move. The bread is amazing, and the sandwiches are probably the best in town. Top picks go to the eggplant and jamon serrano, but the burger is really interesting (in a good way) too.

  • T E.

The food is phenomenal, but get them on a busy or a bad day and be prepared for a slightly rough treatment. They are so popular and busy, that it might be understandable. But if you are turned off by a bit of rudeness, you'll miss out on some great food.

I stopped here a month ago, and got the bahn mi. It was a good sandwich, but not the classic style bahn mi that I'm used to. I went back today and tried the pastrami and from the first bite, I was blown away. It's very good. The bread was excellent, crunchy crust, soft, chewy and flavorful in the middle. They braised cabbage and gruyere added a lot of flavor. The brown mustard aioli is great. Juno's is a great addition to the neighborhood. There are a lot of items on the menu I'd like to try and I look forward to coming back. Service is quick and friendly. Also, I like the hours, they're open a little later (8pm) than a lot of the sandwich shops nearby, so I'm sure to hit them up for a quick dinner soon.

Hello! I wanted to take the time to tell about my experience at Juno's... It's located on Jst...in a tiny spot, but for a small place it gives you a BIG reward! The food was great the last 3 times I have went...yes, that's right 3 times. I try to choose different selections each time, and every time, it's fantastic! This restaurant can appeal to a vegetarian or meat eater. It's choices are healthy, fresh and what's available locally. I love it! There is only 5 tables inside and I believe two outside...so ordering out is probably safe if your in a hurry. Each time I have been there though I had no problem grabbing a table. The food is amazing, healthy, and tastes great! I hope it only gets better! Congratulations to you "Juno's kitchen!" You have brought a new face to the lunch/dinner plan and everyone so far that I have brought to your restaurant with me agree! We only wish you the very best and hope you stay in our area! From a average girl's opinion, you've scored high in consistency, cleanliness, pleasant staffing and amazing food! Congrats! rjc

So a couple of weeks ago I went to Junos for the first time. Ordered an eggplant sandwich. Sounds like no big deal. But oh my goodness, how does a sandwich manage to taste so good!? Ever since then I've been acting like a crack addict, itching to go back and try something else so heavenly (like the bahn mi or rock shrimp mac n cheese). Mind you, this place is a bit out of the way for me but I found excuses to be in the neighborhood this past Saturday and Monday. On both days, they were closed!!! I guess they are not really open all day Saturday so I got there before they opened for dinner. And on Monday they were just....closed. Why, Junos, do you elude me????

This place is awesome. The food is fresh, delicious, and FREE RANGE! :) During the time I was there, about two weeks ago, I even saw what seemed to be the owner providing a homeless man dinner. Talk about a community business! Lastly, the atmosphere is light and friendly...like a place you would find in San Francisco. There are a few tables inside and outside, with a water bowl for the locals with dogs. I mean how much better does it get? Great business! I will definitely be back soon.

Ordered the eggplant sandwich for dinner tonight and really enjoyed it. The potato salad that came with it was just ok. The potatoes didn't soak in the dressing at all. I will be back!
