I had a pulled pork sandwich, on garlic bread with coleslaw..........IT WAS DYNAMITE!!!! Really good!!! The sauce was so good, I bought the giant, 48oz size! The food was great, however, maybe not the best in the world, but still very, very good. I'm giving a solid 5 stars because they where sold out of the BBQ sauce I wanted and instead of asking me to come back another day, the owner made, heated and commercially sealed a brand new fresh batch for me. Thats AWESOME customer service!! A+++++++ customer service that was greatly appreciated!! :) I would go back again and have recommending them to family and friends!

New people need to work on portion sizes, didn't pay extra for a small handful of fries with my meal. Other than that the tri tip was amazing.

Very good pulled pork sandwich Tried the pulled pork on bake potato It was also great Nice people If you want a full rack of ribs they have that also...

This may be because I ordered a group meal that included bbq potatoes, but there was way too much bbq sauce all over the place. I needed something fresh like lettuce or slaw to give my mouth a break and I did not have it. (This may only be a problem because I did not know how/what to order and next time I know better.) The onion rings seemed like they were bought frozen. The meat itself was cooked nicely. I liked the brisket and the tri tip. The place itself has very interesting decorative dollars all over the place.

I work in the same shopping center as fat daddies and I can never get enough BBQ from this joint. I love the Tri tip and the pulled pork the most.. If anyone complains about too much custom, home made BBQ sauce then they don't like bbq and they shouldn't be there. This place is the perfect small town old school man food den there is. The owner and staff are amazing.

As part of a road trip to San Francisco, I roll all up into Fat Daddy's and immediately ordered up the pulled pork combo and added a hot link sammie. In short: Pulled Pork Sandwich: the pulled meat is shredded finely, more so than normal BBQ. A bit drier BUT with a slathering of their spicy BBQ sauce (a darker, thick sauce) makes it a decent sammie. I thought this would have been the star of the show based on reviews posted but maybe a 3.5 star. Hot Link Sandwich: Now this is what I am talking about! 5 stars for the Hot Link. The sausage link is spilt lengthwise on the bun with Caesar salad piled on top. The spice level blends in well with the fresh crunch of the greens! BBQ Beans: tangy, thick like chili, and with chucks of barbecue. Onion Rings: Super crunchy batter and hot onion insides. No complaints here as Fat Daddy makes these my favorite way. Satisfying meal and fuel for the long drive ahead, Fat Daddy's is now officially bookmarked for future trips.

Like many, we stopped here in a road trip down to the Bay Area. We needed a quick, easy, and kid friendly place to stop for lunch. This little joint showed up on Yelp. It's not much to look at on the outside but inside it was very clean and cool ( temperature outside was 107!) We ordered the Kinkajoo for 2 and it was more than enough for 2 adults, a teen, and a baby. We ordered a kids plate for the toddler and didn't even really need that. The tri tip was super tender and delicious. The sauce was thick, tasty, and not too sweet. The teen loved the macaroni salad (and ate all of it) and the onion rings were crispy without being too greasy. A great little pit stop and the plastic chairs and tables made it easy for me to wipe up the kid's mess.

We have become regular diners here. I usually get the tritip sandwich on garlic bread while my husband goes for the hotlink sandwich on garlic bread with Caesar salad on it. I generally despise spicy food, but their bbq sauce is so tasty I have started making a medium mixture of my own with 1:1 spicy and original. Fun ambiance with various international bills stuck to the ceiling in an old A&W building.

I came in to Fat Daddy's as I was traveling back to Washington State and had found them on Yelp. I told them I was ready for some great BBQ and wanted a good sampling of what they have to offer and to prepare me just what they would want if it were their last meal :) Let me tell you, they didn't disappoint me and I savored the BBQ all the way to the Oregon border. I had 2 succulent Ribs, some pulled pork and a smoked sausage which had some kick to it but very juicy. All it it was great. I also had their baked beans which are hearty by themselves and the cole slaw was fabulous. It had some crispness to it like small diced apples or jicama was in it. Very good and fresh! Overall, I'll be back on my next trip through Redding. Great choice.

  • Patrick B.

The ribs here taste like they were boiled. There's no crust on them what-so-ever... The way they feel in your mouth is just odd and hard to accurately describe. The tri-tip does not taste or feel like tri-tip. It's like some lesser beef that was sliced to look like tri-tip. The owner did not laugh at a single joke I made as well! I'm totally funny too!

Always a great place for barbecue and great service. Try the BBQ back potato. It's amazing

  • Hidee B.

Awesome place....I had the pulled pork, recommend having the bread garlic and toasted. Changes the flavor tremendously! BBQ sauce awesomeness. .I was just in town for a few hrs and I love all the $1 bills hanging in there.

  • Captain A.

Really good BBQ for sure. I had Tri-Tip and the quality and quantity were both high. But there was one odd thing: the color. I'm used to the normal gray of BBQ interiors, sometimes with the red/pink "smoke ring", or the brown crust. Yet the Tri-Tip was oddly yellowish. There was nothing wrong with it -- I think their particular smoking process just turned it a strange color. At any rate, the sides were outstanding -- the Cole Slaw and Potato Salad tasted like they were made five minutes ago. FD's interior decor is worth noting: dollar bills hanging from the ceiling -- everywhere. I don't recommend trying to grab any, or a smokier you might wind up on next week's menu :-)

This place is great. The prices are good, but more importantly, all the guys working there are super friendly and super patient. I have not had a bad meal there , ever. The gentlemen running this establishment take a lot of time and effort into their meals. One time I was there, I ordered three meats. The counter person told me that he didn't want to serve me the chicken yet, because they were working up a fresh batch. It was worth the wait, and I appreciated the fact that he wanted to give me the best product available. Plenty of parking, lots of napkins and a great atmosphere.

  • Courtney G.

Great place and great staff. Meat was a little dry, but otherwise good. We had the rib plate and a tri tip sandwich. We did add our dollar to the ceiling though!

  • Jim B.

It's good, not great. Being the only BBQ place around, choice is one.

The hotlinks is just that. Baked beans are great. The rest is good solid barbecue you can't go wrong.

  • Chris H.

Great place at great prices. They have some really good BBQ. Get the SPICY! Sweet is too sweet! They have lots of different plates and options to choose from and the prices are excellent. My favorites there are the country ribs, the spicy sausage, and the potato wedges. A buddy of mine and I go there about once a week. Nice guys in there who genuinely care if you have a good meal or not. I even had the owner, Mike, say, that one rib looks a little fatty. If it is, let me know and I'll give you a new one. How many restaurants just hand it to you and cross their fingers? Not these guys. Joe and Mike work up front and are always good for some casual talk, especially about the Giants! GO GIANTS!!

Best BBQ around! 100x over. Everything I've tried is amazing. Friendly staff, clean restroom, kid friendly. Just over all great! Things to try: NY steak, onion rings, pulled pork, stuffed potato, BBQ chicken Caesar salad, and of course the ribs!!!

  • Agnes M.

Great service..pork ribs were moist and juicy and tender. Pulled pork were cooked perfectly. The Cesar salad was very nice and bean were definitely homemade!! A nice stop for dinner on our way up to Oregon. Will definitely recommend and stop again when we're in town.

  • Kristi R.

In town on vacation and SO GLAD we stopped for dinner here! Best BBQ we've had in a long time. I had the pulled pork sandwich meal with potato salad. Mouthwatering. My husband has the tri-tip with garlic bread and onion rings. Another winner. Two of my kids had the chicken bits kids meal - REAL chicken. The guy said they chop it up themselves so no processed junk here. I snuck one off my daughters plate - probably the best chicken nugget I've ever had. My other daughter (who stated when we pulled up that she doesn't like BBQ sauce) got the 2 rib meal with garlic bread at the guys suggestion. She said halfway through the meal (with BBQ covered fingers) - "I was wrong...I LOVE BBQ." Five stars from the whole family. You won't be disappointed and the prices are right! Thanks for the grub!

Ohhh my GAWD!! I just took my first bite and I'm already planning on what to get for lunch tomorrow! nomnomnommm Mike you did not disappoint! Thank you so much and I will be seeing you all aging b4 I leave!

  • Bobbi S.

Flavorful food. We had the baby back ribs, chicken, hot links, and tri tip. Although the tri tip was a little dry (we were there just before closing) but everything else was great with large portions. Again the food was really good. However, the dining area and restroom could certainly use some work. The fans and ceiling were filthy covered in grime and dirt. I like the collection of dollar bills on the ceiling but the end result is yuk. The inside and outside needed a good cleaning and paint. I get smoking meat causes residue but this has not been cleaned for years. It appeared to be a locally owned and a locals hangout with muscle cars in parking lot. Very friendly staff and quick service. Next time I will get my food to go...

  • Ken W.

Good bbq, good prices. The sides leave something to be desired. Wish they were open on the weekends.

Friendly and helpful owner. Good variety and portion size, food served hot, and flavorful sauce. Give it a try.

Awesome! Food is fantastic! I had the pulled pork sandwich. Beer selection is limited. Eating area is limited, but don't let this stop you! My kids especially loved the flying pigs... :)

  • Bad News S.

Disappointing I was looking forward to some good BBQ after reading the Yelp reviews and Trip Advisor reviews. All I can say is that this was a bit disappointing. I think the place is fine, staff is friendly and efficient, but the BBQ meats lack flavor and smokiness which I have come to love in the BBQ that I am used to. We had two sandwiches and a full slab of baby backs. The tri tip sandwich was meaty but dry and smothered with their sweet sauce. Even the sauce seemed too sugary for my taste and not enough of the other flavors of BBQ sauce came through. The pulled pork had a pretty good consistency, but again, without the overly sweet sauce smothering the meat, you'd miss much of the smokey flavor. Our baby backs had great amounts of succulent meat but lacked a good flavor. Maybe they need to kick up a rub or spice on the meats while they cook it. The staff again were very friendly and it was evident from the many people coming in (mostly for takeout) that a lot of customers like the place. Prices were pretty reasonable and they take AMEX.

Just moved up from SoCal and this was our first night out. FANTASTIC decision! Good prices and great meat and delicious Caesar salad.

Really great BBQ! Great prices and a relaxed atmosphere. I just wish they were open on the weekends! Does catering as well...although personally I was not a fan of the sides. Hoping they will be open for the weekends in the future!!!

I travel a lot for work and was in Redding during the Warriors game 4 finals game. When I called to place my delivery order, the person that answered wasn't sure if they could deliver right now and had to check with who I assume was a manager or owner, if they could accommodate my order because they seemed very busy. What I heard on the other side was "of course we'll deliver right now." The person taking my order informed me that they could deliver to my hotel with a $20 minimum order and it would be 30-60 minutes. This along with a $6 delivery fee which I thought was a little steep....I was pleasantly surprised when my food showed up in about 20 minutes by who I think is the owner. He was very nice and explained that I should put the free Caesar salad on top of the hot link sandwich, which was amazing. I'll gladly order from Fat Daddy's BBQ next time I'm in Redding based on the great hot link sandwich and onion rings and even better service I received.

  • Tj S.

I've lived in Redding most of my life and never been here. Stopped by for a late lunch and I have to say that I was impressed. I liked how they hang dollars on the ceiling (there is a neat story behind that). As for food, lots off sides to choose from to go with your main order. The chicken sandwich with garlic bread (so not on the side) was great. It's not expensive but it's not cheap. I'm hoping to go back for ribs.

    (5)
  • Marilee K.

This is the place for barbeque. The baby back rib plate was our choice. The ribs are so meaty, tender, with little or no fat. It's hard to get tender and juicy without lots of fat. We liked the salad, side of toasted bread AND the onion rings, again fried just right and not greasy. We picked up a bottle of their sauce before we left. The guys are friendly and get your food out fast. I wish we lived closer.

Omg. Best I have ever had Driving thru Residing and stumbled upon this place. Pork completely lean and shredded to perfection Nice guys own it.

  • Ann H.

I got the big ol' whopping BBQ pork sandwich with a side of macaroni salad. The sandwich was done perfectly, but the meat could be a bit tender. The BBQ sauce was nice and tangy with a little spice. I absolutely loved the onion rings, which were perfectly crispy and soft inside. The BBQ potato was a little unusual (never had a boiled potato drenched in BBQ sauce), but I was very satisfied. This is a really nice place to stop by for a quick lunch and maybe go to the Thai food market next door for a few snacks :)

  • Stacy L.

When I showed up at noon on a Monday for a tri tip plate I was told they wouldn't have any for another 30 minutes. Really? At lunchtime? Drove around, came back, and the 4 tiny pieces of tri tip I got were overcooked. The sauce was good but still, overcooked. Potato and macaroni salads were decent, what I would expect. $9.25 is ridiculous for the amount of food I got, though. Service was friendly.

Fat Daddy's has some delicious BBQ and great home cooked BBQ. The guys in there are really cool and seem to really love what they do. Nice place with a great priced menu.

    (5)
  • Ed F.

Simply the best barbecue in the north state!! The chicken and ribs just fall off the bone, the sauce is killer, and all the typical sides that make barbecue great! As some who frequently travels in the southeast, and is a barbecue snob, Fat Daddy's is the real deal!

    (5)
  • Rebecca T.

I first ate FDBBQ when I was new in town and didn't even know how to get to costco. I randomly googled delivery joints nearby and this place popped up. The delivery fee is cheap and the food is reasonably priced. The driver got to my place 20 minutes before estimated, which was pleasant. But when I took the first bite of my pulled pork sandwich, I thought I died and went to heaven. All around, a great place to grub.

  • Jessee B.

Visit this place often! I always order to go cuz the atmosphere is kinda blah. The BBQ is amazing! I am not kidding! I have had just about everything here. The onion rings are a personal favorite! The tri-tip and country bbq ribs are my go-to order. You won't regret it and the staff is super nice! Call in and it is ready when you get there---doesn't get much easier than that. They have punch cards too!

  • Justin H.

With so many BBQ joints in Redding it's hard to choose which one to eat at sometimes. Fat Daddy's is always good and they have a little Mopar car show get together once a month that is pretty cool. If you're looking for a quick and tasty BBQ meal this is a good choice

    (4)
  • Frank L.

This place is really good. I got the ribs, and the meat slid right off the bone. I originally was going to order the steak dinner but they had sold out. I wanted to treat myself so I went with the ribs. I normally don't like ribs because they are so hard to eat and stay clean (like bone in chicken wings) but these were cooked so well the meat slid right off the bone. Both bbq sauces are made in house and the spicy actually had a nice kick, which was nice. Usually "spicy" sauce is barely any different from "regular".

    (4)
  • Lynda C.

I went back for ribs, beans, cole slaw...........and the salty garlic bread. The ribs were DRY as heck, every one of them..........what happened?

    (2)
  • Bryant K.

Best BBQ in town hands down. Beans tangy and home made. I love this place. A must go at lease once a week. P.S. leave a dollar on the wall with your name or whatever else you can think of. There is at lease 100 $1.00 bills on the ceiling and walls.

  • Becky R.

I can't help but write another review about Fat Daddy's! I have to say that one of the many reasons our family eats here is their consistancy. We could eat here every day, once a month, or every other month and their food is always amazing. Never hit or miss; always on point. Personable service, lots of choices, funky little joint that is LOCAL. Support them, people! Forget the chains and eat at a Redding original!

    (5)
  • Danielle B.

Love the pulled pork sandwich!! They also do catering which is amazing!! The service is always welcoming and the food is to die for! Will always being coming back!

Great BBQ. We cruised in this afternoon. Folks behind the counter were really helpful. Settled on pulled pork sandwiches with sides of beans for me and slaw for her. Delicious. Condiment counter had these small green peppers. Hot, hot, and delicious. My voice went up a couple of octaves. Counter guys smiled and said shout if I needed a drink refill, as though I could ask. I just waved my hand and dove back into my sandwich. She just shook her head and looked away.

Had Fat Daddy's yesterday On the way to Shasta for a house boating trip. Definitely one of those places I never would have found without Yelp. It's about 5-6 blocks off 5, and definitely a local's spot. We got there at about 1:45, and when we left around 2:15, it was actually full. Not bad for a Friday! Anyway, my buddy and I both had the baby back ribs. Nice, meaty cuts with not a lot of fat. Sauce was wonderful-can't attest to how they'd taste dry. Came with a side of my choosing. Kev had the beans, and I and the potato salad, which was nice and cold, firm, and was a good counter to the sweetness of the sauce. Also included was a garlic bread. While I normally would expect white bread for soppin', this was actually quite good-about 8" of baguette split down the middle, garlic'd and buttered, and toasted face down. I've had ribs at some pretty authentic spots-McCoys and Flints in Oakland, for example, and the Q here stood up to them with a problem...and no pesky gunfire. Service was super friendly, and the bathroom was spotless. Already trying to figure out how we'll work it in on the way home

The food was just average. Had a pulled pork sandwich and it was very bland. Dining area is also very low key.

Fat Daddy's is a must if you are in Redding. The food is always fantastic and the guys that run the place are always helpful and friendly. Don't forget to sign a dollar bill and pin it on the ceiling, you'll see mine up there :)

This place had the best baby back pork ribs west of "Dreamland" in Birmingham, AL. The service was above average and the prices were reasonable. 1/2 rack, one side and garlic bread for $14.95. I will definitely hit this place again on my next pass through Redding.

  • Dusten L.

Fat Daddy's is nicely located near four corners in Redding (Churn Creek and Hartnell) its a smaller location but it is made up for with amazing BBQ complimented by Fat Daddy's own home made BBQ sauce that if you like enough can buy bottled on your way out. Staff loves their job and will always have a suggestion if you need help deciding because you can't stop drooling thinking of delicious BBQ that you will soon be eating.

    (5)
  • Danielle C.

This place is delicious! Ample portions. GREAT prices. Coleslaw was delicious. Chicken was moist. I've never had moist chicken from a BBQ place. If you are anywhere near Redding, CA (even if you are traveling on the 5 freeway), make a point to pull over and eat here!!!

  • Kendra S.

Went to Fat Daddy's for the first time today. The pulled pork was awesome and the onion rings were the best I've ever had. The staff was also very nice. My advice would be to stay away from the potato salad. I was informed that they don't make it themselves. Maybe they should.....

  • Brooke B.

NOT OPEN ON WEEKENDS! Bad move on their part. I also tried to find a website but I only found porn. I fell in love with their HOT barbeque sauce. Fortunately, they sell the sauce by the bottle... so I bought a gallon! Best value, their sandwiches. But I love the "Fat Meal" of country pork ribs. YUM! Gotta try em!

  • Alexander B.

Walked in the door with my friend, it was a little smokey inside but in no way was it a bad thing. Kind of a pleasent bbq smell. I guess they were having a problem with their credit machine, so we had to drive to the 76 station and use their atm... which was out of order :( anyways bought a V8 and got cash back (they only offered 15 dollars, oh well). Got back to Fat Daddy's and ordered a Tri Tip sandwich with macaroni salad as a side. Chatted with the order man, maybe an owner? He was nice actually pretty funny. Cudos for better counter service than most places in Redding. Order came up quick and I chose to take it out to eat with my friend and his family. One note on the inside of the place, despite being really clean, there were a noticable few flies hanging around, which was kind of annoying, but one could argue that its an authentic bbq experience. Back to the food, the tri tip sandwich was good, but not great. What was great however was the bbq sauce, it was amazing! Probably the best bbq sauce I've had in ages. The roll tasted maybe store bought, which normally is ok, but next to the awesome flavor of the bbq sauce, it tasted rather plain. The meat wasn't something to write home about, but there was plenty of it and I felt satiated after. One note on macaroni salad in general. Far too often do I walk into a shop, order a bbq sandwich, and it comes with a side. I almost always order the macaroni salad. Its nice to have something cool (in temp) after having a hot sandwich. Usually with places, their sides are rather weak, almost as if its an afterthought. Sometimes it can taste downright gross. That wasn't the case here. It was moderately sized so much larger than other shops, and tasted extremely good. For once, a bbq shop that knows how to execute a side! :) try it, you'll love it. Summarizing breifly... the meat was ok, the bread was so-so, and the bbq sauce was excellent. Overall the sandwich was probably a 3/5, macaroni was a 4/5, the service was a 5/5. Normally that would be a 4 star in my book, but I feel the sandwich's score is weighing this place down. It was the main item I ordered and I can't shake the feeling that it was filling, but nothing too special (except for the sauce). Overall i'd have to say my stay was a 3.5/5 stars but since yelp can't half star rate and I have to choose one, i'd pick 3/5, but it was really close. I will try this place again down the road and do an update because I think this place has a lot of potential. Or I may just steal their recipe for bbq sauce ;)

We stopped here on our way back to Oregon, I can guarantee we will be back. The pulled pork sandwich with their delicious southern style BBQ sauce was one of the best I've had since moving from Texas! It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the smell of the smoker lets you know the BBQ is going to be good. I didn't expect homemade bread and delicious sauces though. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the decor inside is a little old ladyish.

  • Lisa C.

Love, love, love it. I called tonight 3 minutes before closing and got an order for pick up. Those guys are great. I always go for the pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw on it (southern style) and the caesar salad. My only criticism is that they are closed on weekends. Everytime I go in I beg them to open on weekends, but I get the reason ( they cater on weekends), so it's all good. It makes me appreciate the weekday.

When I'm hankering for some good ol' BBQ pork, I head to Fat Daddy's. I've only had their pulled pork, but that's all I need to try because I love it. They give you tender, juicy piles of meat ladeled with their spicy BBQ sauce, which is smokey with a nice kick of spice and the right amount of sweetness. My family's usual routine is to buy the pork by the pound ($10.99/lb; $6.99/1/2 lb) and then to separately buy dinner rolls from Costco or Safeway to pair with the meat (buying the bread at Fat Daddy's is more expensive). Although I do wish that Fat Daddy's would open on weekends, I'm happy knowing that you can buy their normal or spicy BBQ sauce in a bottle at Winco. I'm glad to have a place like Fat Daddy's nearby to satisfy my meaty, BBQ cravings. There are a few BBQ options in Redding and Fat Daddy's knows how to fix their pigs right.

YAY! I'm a fan indeed. Driving from Santa Barbara to Portland, and Redding was our stop. Road food...heaven help me. There must be SOME place in Redding where we can get something that isn't...a chain. That doesn't have a drive through. We actually found this place in the phone book, and I quickly looked it up on Yelp to make sure it wasn't a hell hole. The handful of negative comments seemed irrelevant when there was pulled pork in my future. I drove over and ordered two pulled pork sandwiches, two orders of onion rings, and a couple of Great White Ales to go. When I put my bag up on the counter, the guys noticed my pin on my bag that simply says "MEAT." After that, we were best bitches. : ) SUPER nice guys who work there, loaded me up with everything we'd need in the hotel room, and I was DROOLING the 1.5 miles back to the hotel smelling the onion rings. Why oh why does fried food smell soooo damned good? Funny enough, the onion rings were simply "okay" but the sandwich was quite tasty! Nice roll, very generous portion, very saucy and tender. If you like saucy bbq, this totally fits the bill. And the sauce was tasty enough I dunked my onion rings in it, too. As I sat back on my giant fluffy bed and watched bad television, full, perhaps a dollop of bbq sauce on my shirt (I've never claimed to be a neat eater), the smell of onion rings and bbq in the air, a cold beer on the nightstand, I thought...oh yes. Next time I'm through Redding I'll drop by for another. Thanks, guys!

Came here 3 years ago & had to come back with the rest of the family! The pork ribs are to die for! Eat 'em w/the beans! Just a great place to grab a bite! Its not fancy - its all about the taste. Owners are really nice too!

Craving BBQ so called hubby to pick some up on the way home. Sent him the YELP link to Fat Daddy's based on the reviews, I was not disappointed at all. He brought me the pulled pork sandwich and it was very yummy even after the hour long ride home. He had the spicy pulled pork and was impressed too. We will definitely be back to try the other menu items.

  • Daniel G.

Fat Daddy's is awesome. They have the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had. The other sandwiches like the tri-tip are ok, but don't pack as much of a wow factor like the pulled pork. The sides are really tasty too, and they even have a salad available for those looking for healthy alternatives.

Stopped here on our way to Ashland, Oregon from Sacramento after reading Yelp reviews. The food was AMAZING....I am a bbq snob and this place was the bomb. I had the pulled pork sandwich, the meat was oh so tender, and cooked to perfection, the sauce was totally killer. The hot was a bit too hot for me, but the medium was perfect. The beans were homemade and delicious. The owner is truly a great guy and let us sample different items. It is not a fancy place, but the food is delicious. I was soooooooo bummed out on our return trip back thru Redding on Sunday that Fat Daddy;s was closed......all my boyfriend and I could think of was BBQ from there for dinner as we were passing thru.......

I knew this was going to be good when I saw the pictures of customized cars on the wall. Folks who love hand-crafted cars aren't likely to settle for bland, standardized food. And sure enough: EVERYTHING was very tasty. We tried the ribs, chicken, and brisket -- all first rate. The bbq sauce was so good I bought a bottle to take home. Highly recommended!

I had the pulled pork on sourdough, very good. Macaroni salad not the greatest.

WOW! This place was so good! I literally just finished eating and jumped right on here to review. We got ribs, a pulled pork sandwich, bbq beans, mac salad, potato salad and (free) coleslaw. Everything was delicious! My boyfriend said his ribs were just "ok", but my pulled pork was so good! We came in late (on a Friday night) and didn't realize the time...the guys were super nice and said we could still eat even though it was 5 min to closing..we took our stuff home and they sent us on our way with 4 tubs of slaw because they said it would just go to waste over the weekend (AWESOME! and informative..they don't use nasty week-old slaw). Great employees, great food..we will definitely be back! (only drawback: closed weekends)

Oh my gosh, THIS is the best bbq Redding has??? This place sucked! They pour the sauce over the meat and totally saturate it. You can't even taste the meat! And whatever meat I did manage to find was dry. The garlic bread is soggy. The coleslaw recipe needs a much needed overhaul. My husband ordered the tri tip and got 3 little pieces for $8.95. Total rip off! I won't be going back for sure!!!

Very nice pulled pork sandwich. Generous helpings, great tomato based sauce (which they sell) and excellent onion rings. Fast service too.

Good barbecue, not the best (porter st. barbecue in arcata). Meat was tender, sliced, and spiced well. And was in generous proportions. If I ever decide to go back to eating meat, this place will be on my top 20 places to go to. I'm thinking somewhere in the range of 12th or 13th.

Tasty food. Excellent pork and the garlic bread for chicken sandwich set it off. The onion rings were the best I've ever had.

We road-trip to Redding area in 8/2009 and dined in Fat Daddy's BBQ. The portion was pretty big. The price was reasonable. I love their spicy BBQ sauce .........very very good. But their ribs had a lot of fat on them, so I would avoid them ............

Some of the best BBQ sauce I've ever had. The tri-tip, BBQ potato, and pork ribs are amazing. This isn't slow roast dry BBQ, it's the slap on a bib, roll up your sleeve, and bask in the savory BBQ sauce goodness. The brothers who own the place are always friendly and happy to make suggestions. OFF MENU ITEM: Try the "Mess Ina Cup" if you're an adventurous eater.

It's hard to find good BBQ in Redding, Fat Daddy's does a pretty good job. Still a bummer no weekend hours, I keep the sauce at home, pretty killer.

Came here when hunger caused us to exit the nearby I5. Counter staff were friendly. Inhaled the pulled-pork sandwich in about 30 seconds -- it was really quite good, especially with added 'spicy' sauce from the condiment bar. Would stop here again for a quick bite when passing through Redding.

We were looking for a stop between Berkeley & Ashland, OR. What we found, with Yelp help, was a keeper. The barbecue sauce is sweet and smoky. The hot version is still quite mild but very flavorful. If you want it red hot you'll have to bring your own. We loved the pulled pork and chicken sandwiches, great selection of sides, and friendly owners.

Stopped here headed south on I-5. Found this place through yelp. Great pulled pork sandwich! Would go back for that. Spicy BBQ sauce was good too. Friendly folks there

My husband and I really wanted to like this place. The location itself is cute, and the customer service was excellent. We just didn't care for the food very much at all. I personally prefer a dry smoked meat to one that was prepared "wet". When you order a wet barbequed item is drippy and instantly makes buns soggy. Additionally we both found the sauce overpowering and too sour for our tastes. From the positive reviews I imagine that they are a good legit BBQ place if you like their style of BBQ, but we will not be back.

The best BBQ in Redding. Coming from outside Redding, where there are a lot of people from Texas and the South claim to know BBQ, this place is as good as any place I had tried for honest, down home cooking. The place is a retired A& W stand. There are a bunch of cooks behind the counter. The sandwiches have a lot of meat. The chicken is cooked well but not dry. Too many places give it to you raw or burnt.

Great place for perfectly cooked tender pulled pork sandwiches! The onion rings are tempting as they seem to be homemade. The children's size is perfect for a light lunch. Owners are great family guys!
