The second favorite place I will miss is this place. As a former Red Bluff resident, I was fascinated by ethnic food - especially Thai. And this place delivers a wonderful epicurean delight if you love spicy. But you must request it otherwise you will get the mild versions. One of my favorites here are the beef dishes. The chicken is okay but the curry chicken is a party in your mouth! The prices here are moderate for the area but well worth the cost of the dishes. Across from Tractor Supply and next to a mini mall on Main Street, this is a treasure among chain restaurants.
Thai House is located across from Tractor Supply. They have a parking lot in front of the restaurant. I came here to grab dinner with my husband's family. Thai House is a very clean restaurant with lots of tables. We got seated immediately when we walked in. Looking at the menu, there are appetizers, salads, noodles, rice dishes, and meat dishes to order. We decided to share the following dishes. Pork Fried Rice - This reminded me of the typical Chinese fried rice. It was very good. Pineapple Fried Rice - This tasted different than normal. There was more of a curry flavor. Orange Chicken - The outside of the chicken was very crispy. The texture and flavor of the skin reminded me of the 'fried bananas' dessert. This dish was a bit too sweet. Cashew Nut Chicken - This dish was very good. There was lots of veggies mixed with the huge slices of chicken like water chestnuts, corn, etc. Overall, Thai House is a decent place. The portion size of each dish is a bit small compared to other places.
While probably not a Thai food expert, I do very much enjoy it and have visited a dozen or so in the north state. The food is among the best I've had anywhere else! I particularly like their Cashew Nut, Basil Chicken, and Pad Thai. My wife loves their Pad See Ew with their glass noodles. While their food is fantastic, the service is phenomenal. Being a local and return customer helps I suppose, but they always remember what we like and how we like it. Very friendly and attentive without any hovering. The atmosphere is nice and clean. Not super fancy, but there is some definite cultural appeal.
