I don't get the hype. I mean I understand that combining bacon and burgers together should be AWESOME, but the execution was very meh. Maybe it's because i like my burgers to taste fresh and I dislike the frozen food taste. Even after following my own advice and drinking MORE beer, it's still underwhelming and ultimately disappointing. On the plus side, great beers on the menu. Other places to consider: The Habit, In N Out, Jake's Burgers

Sweet Jesus. This place is DELICIOUS with generous portions. Usually a big line, yet parking is fairly easy to find (lot or meter) and it's fun to create your own burger. Safe to say you probably can't order a single bad item here. Great place to take friends, groups, or even go on a date.

I've only been to the Slater's in Pasadena once, but I had a great experience. I went for a later lunch on a Sunday with a friend, and though the eatery was crowded, we didn't have to wait too long to get seated. This Slater's doesn't have its own parking garage, but there are a few public garages (need to pay for parking) right across the street, so I just parked at one of those convenient lots and walked over. I love how every Slater's location sort of has its own personality. This location seemed a bit nicer (brighter or brightly lit) than the Anaheim Hills location, but perhaps that's just because I only have been to the Anaheim Hills location at night. Also, the signage on this restaurant's exterior is very visible from the street and easy to spot! Here's what I got during this trip to Slater's and what I would recommend: "Slater's Vampire Dip": This is possibly one of my favorite appetizer dishes ever. It features Slater's take on the traditional spinach artichoke dip and consists of a savory three cheese blend, artichokes and roasted garlic. The spread is served in a sourdough bowl and with fried pita chips for dipping. The fried pita chips make this dish unique -- it's so much better than just having chips served with the dip. Also, you can really taste the garlic chunks in the dip, which is super cheesy and filled generously with chunks of the artichokes as well. A must-get if you're at Slater's with a group ... but I've also gotten it when I was just with one other person, and we absolutely devoured the appetizer (and asked for more pita chips). The sourdough bowl is also fun to eat; because the dip makes the bowl soft, it's easy to pull apart and enjoy the bread as well. "Southwest Chicken Salad": This hearty salad consists of romaine lettuce topped with Cheddar and Pepper Jack cheeses, avocado, roasted corn and black beans, and tender pieces of fried chicken. It comes served in a crispy tortilla shell (like a tostada salad) and with Tapatio ranch dressing. I made a few slight alterations to my salad -- I ordered it with dressing on the side and with the roasted corn/black beans mixture on the side as well, with no avocado. The Ranch dressing is slightly spicy but it gives the salad a great extra kick. The chicken pieces were breaded to a crisp and made the salad a hearty meal. I didn't finish all of mine in one sitting, but I was pleased to discover that the tortilla shell was still crispy the next day. I think the salad would have been better with a little more cheese (only a small amount of cheese was sprinkled on top), but other than that, I really enjoyed this salad for my entrée. The only reason I didn't finish it was because I was saving room for dessert ... "Design Your Own Shake": I finally had the chance to try one of famous milkshakes at Slater's! I was able to finish mine--partly at the restaurant, and the rest on my way home--but the milkshakes can easily be shared between two people. Not only do you get a full glass, but you also get the milkshake remnants in a metal tin for scooping out and enjoying! My friend and I ordered different shakes because we wanted different mix-ins. I got the "Design Your Own Shake" with Oreo cookie and peanut butter mix-ins. The peanut butter flavor wasn't super strong in my shake, but I enjoyed noshing on the chunks of Oreo cookies. Some of the cookies were finely blended, but there were big enough chunks to crunch on as well. I would definitely order a shake from Slater's again ... I'm sure the candied pecan and Nutella mix-ins would have been great, too. Because the shakes are a generous size, Slater's provides to-go cups if you can't finish your entire shake and want to take it with you (great for sipping when you're on the road). If you're in the Pasadena area, I would definitely recommend visiting Slater's ... it's a great place if you're a burger lover because they feature unique patties (half bacon, half beef). But even if you're not the hugest burger connoisseur, there's tons of other great entrees (mac and cheese, etc.) on the menu to try, and the dessert is out of this world!

Good selection of beer, burgers are amazing! And it's close to home. They have a good selection of beer with plenty to choose from and a good amount of tv's. I would recommend this place if you're in the Pasadena area.

Anytime anyone infuses bacon into everything you know its going to be a good time. It was a bit crowded at the Pasadena location, but that is to be expected on a sunday for lunch. I started off with the Vampire Dip......Heaven. Artichoke, cheese, and garlic served with pita chips in a bread bowl. This item is worth going there alone! It truly is my favorite thing there ( yes, including the burgers). I had my burger custom built: 50/50 patty, fried egg, vampire dip, chipotle mayo, Lettuce, tomatoe... it was legit. I would recommend just getting the 1/3 pound, the 2/3 is ginormous... but if thats your thing, go for it. They also have a 1 pound option ( after being cooked!) I give it 4 stars because there is only one 5 star slot in my book, but it's really good and if i was in Pasadena, i would definitly go back! Good vibe, good food, can't complain.

Mac n Cheese Balls were so good. Service was really great despite having to wait 30min to be seated on a Sunday afternoon. If you're up for it make your own burger...
