Nice place. Menu is over priced. Service was very slow. Messed up simple "this or that" side item, took almost as long to get a plate of fries as it did a albacore tuna melt. The original sandwich at $15 took over 15 minutes to be served. Place wasn't busy but seemed understaffed. I ate at the bar with ample seating. But it seemed like tender was really slammed. I felt bad for him so I didn't even bother asking for simple condiments. Not great, but not bad. Just a long experience when ordering a simple tuna melt. If I go back it will only be if I'm on a perdium.

Big soufflé dish full of Cioppino in a spicy and delicious broth, full of crab, clams, oysters, scallops, fish with linguini in the bottom. My wife had a large piece of panko catfish and a baked potato and steamed vegetables. My wife and I have been here numerous times over the years and have never been disappointed. The service is always warm and friendly.

Can you find somewhere else to go for your fish? If so, go there. This place was recommended by a friend and I'll have a talk with her about that. The most mediocre meal I've had in quite awhile. I wasn't getting reception so couldn't look it up on Yelp or I probably wouldn't have come here. I was looking forward to a nice piece of sea bass but that's not what I got. I wanted everything without a lot of butter on it. The seabass came out wet....like not cooked enough. Yuck. Sent it back. It came back a little more cooked but all broken up in pieces, and the flavor just wasn't good. The veggies were dry and tasteless. I took a couple of bites and reached for the bread. Just couldn't eat it. My companion's halibut was blackened and didn't even look like halibut. She said it was ok but nothing to write home about. The place itself is really cute; lots of booths and fish-type memorabilia on the walls. And the service was really good, I must say. But that didn't help the fact that the food was pretty awful. Also, the first cup of coffee we were served was lukewarm. Asked for a new cup and the server made a fresh pot. Unfortunately, their coffee leaves a lot to be desired. Very weak. So that's the last time this place will see me. Was craving the salmon at Palm Restaurant downtown. Sorry but I don't like mediocre food. They did have a big buffet and most of the people were there for that. Didn't try it, don't want to.

Ordered take out recently to avoid cooking during a heat wave. When we opened the $40+ King Crab leg order it was literally half of two legs. It looked like someone handed us their left overs! The sides were wrong or missing. Not planning on ever coming back.

Extremely disappointing. First off, the sourdough bread was stale, an inexcusable sin for this type of establishment. It didn't get much better with the panko platter. Pretty insulting really. The shrimp were reminiscent of the fried shrimp I would get at Cocos as a kid. The scallops were tiny, unusually dark, and cemented in a tough breading that was difficult to penetrate, (see pic). Iced teas were $4 a pop. I really can't thinking one good thing to say about this experience. Sad when a meal tells you unequivocally that the cooks on the other end just don't care.

Cameron's is a nice seafood restaurant. I found the food to be average. If you're not adventurous and like pretty mild menu choices I think that this is the place for you. I tried the sole filet dinner with baked potato and steamed veggies. It wasn't bad but if I go back I may try something else. Overall, the service is not bad and is a place to keep in mind to take/ or suggest to friends that have a hard time trying new things but want to think they are.

Cameron's Seafood is like a hidden gem of seafood deliciousness. And I say hidden, because it seems like at one point in time - this place used to be hopping: the space accommodates much more than the current foot traffic I've witnessed. Which is simultaneously fortunate (for me - less crowds!) and unfortunate (for business). Also, the building itself (and the decor) feels very lived in and classic 'American'...like the bar in the tv show, Cheers - or TGIFridays. Coming here reminds me of eating out with my parents as a kid. Which, I guess makes sense - since it seems like they tend to attract the older crowd. Considering the range of stars in other yelp reviews, it seems your experience is going to either be a hit or a miss. So far, I've been here two times, and they've both been hits. Unless you have an idea of what you want to order when you walk in the door, it's easy to get overwhelmed by the options on the menu. Portions are generous and sharing is encouraged. Although everything seems to be more on the salty side (so if you're on a low sodium diet, be wary!). I had no idea that red (Manhattan-style) clam chowder existed, until coming here. And maybe you didn't either until you read my review - but it exists, and it's very savory and hearty - like chili or stew. Comes with oyster crackers. Is it better than the white (New England-style)? Hard to say - think you should go with which sounds better the moment of: tomatoes or cream. And in case you were wondering - the Lobster Mac n' Cheese is more on the buttery, milky-soup side vs dry, dense, and baked. I like it that way - but it fills you up a lot quicker. My future uncle-in-law swears by the Seafood Cioppino. He says he's been ordering it for years. It comes in a large bowl, and I think, could feed little ol' me for days. Our server tonight was a very lively and charming gentleman named Jeff. He may just be the happiest waiter I've encountered in the past year. It's refreshing and pleasant to witness people that are happy with their jobs. Note to self - Next time I come here, I want to try the assorted cold seafood platter, or the shrimp cocktail.

We met our friends to have dinner a wonderful dinner, but it was short of that .. We ordered at the same time, but the couple we were with got there meal 15 minutes before we got ours. I got the scallops and shrimp with cream sauce and after waiting all that time for my meal the sauce was so runny it wouldn't thicken! I requested to have it taken off our check and they refused. I didn't even eat 1/3 of it and they only took off $5.00. To make along story short, we will NOT be going back and we are regular customers! Jeff did everything he could to make our bad experience better! He was great!

Ordered the Swordfish lunch. Funny but the sides of spinach, and parsley potatoes were larger portions than the wafer slice of Swordfish. A deck of cards is about twice the size of the fish portion. Very sad, because this was once an outstanding seafood restaurant. Check out the comparison between the fork, tartar sauce vs the swordfish portion.

I have driven by Cameron's often in the past 2 years since they are near my parents' current home. With a good (although apparently undeserved) reputation, it's been on my list of places to try. Let me re-wind a bit... I have been craving a good burger for about 6 months now. With the price of beef so high, I have been making other choices. Ok now back to Cameron's... I was about to order ceviche (appetizer, but I never finish entrees when I order them so I tend to go small.). My dad says, "Look, a classic Kobe burger!" He knows I've been craving a good burger. Cheddar cheese, poblano pepper, bacon, and a fried egg (?). What kind of moron puts a fried egg on burger then calls it "classic?" I should have known it was crap. I ordered it with no egg. Medium rare. Emphasis on the rare. I was very clear about liking pink in the middle. Cost: $18. My first note of disappointment was sort of a "Me" thing. I appreciate a homemade ketchup or dressing. For $18 you should make the damn ketchup yourself. If I want corn syrup and vinegar I'll microwave a crap-burger and buy my own crap-sup! If I am paying $18 for a burger I expect a quality product dressed with quality condiments. Sorry for the mini-rant! Anyway this burger was obviously dry with a side of bbq sauce. I didn't order a Bbq burger, so what's up with bbq sauce?? Ug it gets gross from here. I peeked under the bun and saw AMERICAN CHEESE! Okay I know this is a food review and American Cheese has no place in any review about "food." For whatever reason Cameron's thinks American Cheese qualifies as "cheddar." I am used to my preference for actual food causing me restaurant angst, so I calmly scraped the yellow plastic off the burger and bacon and re-assembled my burger (with the help of some mayo since the burger looked pretty dry.) Let's recap: no more plastic cheese, Kobe beef patty, meh wheat bun, poblano chili, bacon, and some mayo. I took a bite and... Ready for the clincher? It was WELL DONE!!! Aaaaaa!!!! If I wanted a well done burger I would just eat fast food. So very frustrating! I tried to send it back but when I said the burger was "well done," I think the guy thought I meant like "good job." Others at my table had input for this review: Dad said seared rare ahi was "okay but nothing special... needs some more kick." Cheryl wondered whether her tempura fried shrimp were the frozen kind from Costco. This might have been a compliment. The frozen shrimp tempura from Costco are pretty good. Don thought the French fries were "very good." At the end of the night they screwed up our bill (it took about 5 tries to get the bill right then when we gave them our credit card they accidentally overcharged by $50 which they gave to us in cash.) They also took $10 off the bill, which was nice. We still won't be back. ** I received a very civil & courteous response from Cameron's owner Pete. He claims I am mistaken about the American cheese and offered to buy me a medium rare burger. I refuse to get into a cheese debate (I know cheese... my big booty is testament my love affair with cheese!) Although I am not taking Pete up on his offer, I wanted to point out that, unlike other reviewers, I have not experienced any abuse or threats.

This is one of the few good, non-chain seafood around. They always have a good selection of fresh fish (not just over-priced farmed tilapia and salmon, like many chain places). It's pricey (average $20 to $30 per person), but worth it. Their dishes aren't trendy or experimental...just good, fresh fish, shellfish and side dishes (I love their cole slaw). It's what Seafood Broiler and Market Broiler used to be before Red Lobster took over. In addition to an extensive menu, they also have a full bar. The decor is conservative and classy, and has hardly changed since I first started going there in the late 80's (which I find comforting). I would have given them 5 stars except for two minor issues I had with my last visit: my dirty martini ($13) was way too dirty...could hardly taste the Bombay Sapphire, and the grilled shrimps weren't very flavorful. Still, I wish I could afford to eat here more often!

The reviews for this place seem a bit lower than what it should reflect. Truth is the price and location is ideal for folks living in Pasadena area. I can see this as our seafood destination for week night dinners. The staff are very welcoming and attentive to our table. The environment here is very fun with a mix of different ages, families etc. In terms of the food I will definitely come back they do offer many great seafood plates. From your fried favorites, to the grilled kebobs, this place has it. We had the grilled shrimp, fish and chips and they were average but good. We also tried both of the clam chowders and would say the Manhattan style was better. We will be back soon for some oysters and lobster.

Went to dinner at Camerons Seafood last night and it was amazing. The food was delicious. My only comment is that the Waitress had to ask the manager if she could give us all separate checks. We were a group of five. And she said individual checks were not possible. But then she came back and said that she talked to the Manager and he said it was okay to do separate checks since they were not busy. Come on, that is just good customer service. And in this computerized age, if the table tells you before they place their orders, it should be no problem. But I am glad they were finally okay to give us separate checks. The waitress actually was very nice to us throughout our meal. There are so many items on the menu it was difficult to choose. I got the Halibut and Salmon Skewers with baked potato and steamed vegetables. Very good. Delicious glass of wine. One friend got the appetizer of Guacamole - big chunks of avocado. One friend got the Bacon Wrapped Scallop Skewers. One friend got the White fish and pasta special. Another friend the Stuffed Salmon special. Everyone loved their food. It was all so good, we even decided to ask for dessert. It is not listed on the menu. But the Waitress brought over a sampler platter to view. One friend got the Crème Brulee which she loved. And another friend got the New York Cheesecake - and I couldn't resist and took a few bites. That has to be one of the best cheesecakes I have ever tasted ! I decided for my dessert - I had to try one of their Martinis. I got a Tropical Coconut Pineapple Martini. Wow - it was delicious ! I am so glad I tried it. This is such a great place. I was saying I have to go back and try more items. I would love to try the Sunday Brunch as well. The food, drinks and desserts were all outstanding.

I haven't been here for about 6 years and someone reminded me about it. Since I was in the area I decided ..WHY NOT..let's give it a try again. Hmm..where do I start. It was like NOTHING like i remember. I ordered the calamari, mahi mahi tacos and the clam chowder. The calamari! Boring!! The batter had no flavor and when they brought the sauces out they brought salsa. SALSA..really. I had to ask for some cocktail sauce and the waitress seemed shocked that I dare ask for it. No matter the amount of lemon I put on it it didn't help. Clam Chowder - The presentation looked really nice. The way the soup was over spilling on the sides of the cup made you want to dive in and eat it up. However, once you did you wish you didn't. It was plain and flavorless. I never added salt / pepper to any of my soups but I felt like this one needed it. I was so turned off that I lost my appetite. Mahi Mahi Tacos - How do you go wrong? Salsa, lemon and cheese makes any taco great you would think. But once again the fish had no flavor like they forgot about the seasoning. Everything was wrong. This is not how I remember this place however, it's been years and my taste buds have improved since then. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you like flavorless, bland and boring food.

I wanted to take my wife to a special restaurant while visiting Pasadena. We came to Cameron's Seafood, and really Got a surprise. To start off was the dry sliced sourdough bread right out a package. I ordered the crab Louie and got slop, it was what appeared to be canned crab that looked like it had been pre chewed for me and had a light gray color and did I mention it was tasteless, My wife had the Panko crusted shrimp it looked like they just threw the food on the plate, it was tasteless also. So $45.00 lighter and for garbage! As I write this I am mad at myself for not talking to the manager on the spot and for not checking the reviews on yelp first, but I didn't think I needed to. The service was very good. Food not so much!

This restaurant looks great on the outside, but the owner and "chef" serve steam tray vegetables that sit for ages. That should tell you everything you need to know. Think 1970s high school cafeteria food standards. If Gordon Ramsey ever had the misfortune of stepping in their door, shouting would certainly ensue. The food here is indifferently prepared, expensive, and the management is awful. Go to San Marino seafood for food prepared to order. In fact, eat anywhere else but here.

So, I read a bunch of the reviews before I went in last night. I want to say to the manager, Please, stop responding to the reviewers. It is making YOU look bad. I work with food. I have managed a fresh seafood place. I have managed restaurants and other food establishments. I am VERY picky about seafood. I had a ceasar salad. It was crisp, dressed well and very nice. My martini was great. My companions had, grilled oysters ( They looked huge and juicy), soft shell crab and a white fish with Piccata. They all loved their food. I had the spicy buttered shrimp. It was fresh and very tasty. we had crème brulee and a lemon bar for desert. I didn't taste the lemon bar, but me and my friend fought over the crème brulee. Maybe some of their bad reviews are from ex-employees. Maybe they have had some bad nights. This was not one. I saw no evidence of frozen fish. So back to the manager, check up on the kitchen when you're not there. Stop replying to the idiots who are trying to wreck you. Focus on the people who like your place. There is a reason you have been open this long. The interior looked nice and clean. In this industry there is a saying. "If you have time to lean you have time to clean". I saw no slacking of your staff. but, Any establishment can use 'sprucing' always. I wish, on a Friday night that Camerons was more busy, but we were early. I would definitely come back.

Went here about 5 years ago we were in the area, decided to go back. Was very disappointed. Placed our order of a bowl of clam chowder fish and chips. Server asked if we wanted bread . We did when it came it was very good until a something appeared. I showed it to the busser. He brought another basket My husband said I hope the soup gets here before the meal. It didn't. Just then the server appears with the meal, we told her to cancel the soup she said she forgot to put the order in. She said she would not charge us. The fish and chips were soggy and not that hot Sorry Camerons we won't be back

Awful!!! Halibut ceviche was disgusting, had to spit it out. The rest was no better. Yuk, yuk, yuk!

    (1)
  • Bill N.

Nice menu and good service, however the food is just mediocre at best. It's also way overpriced. I had the Halibut and got the au gratin potatoes, which were mashed potatoes with a little cheese in them and coleslaw.. No bread. No salad. $27 for this. The Panko shrimp, scallops, and whitefish platter was terrible. The coating had no taste and was overcooked. Again, at $21.00, the small amount and no taste made this even worse.

I recently moved in with my bf and live literally next to Cameron's. We came here for dinner one night and ordered the lobster Mac n cheese as an appetizer and wow!!! It was so deliciously good. I ordered bacon wrapped scallops and the scallops were tasty but the bacon wasn't fully cooked. I love bacon, and was a bit bummed. My bf ordered the kobe burger and it was really good. We ordered two blue moons and our waitress was so nice and catered to us very well. Our bill was a bit pricy $116 for an appetizer, two dinner entrees and two blue moons, but we don't mind spending money on food that has great quality and tastes delicious. The reason I put 4 stars is due to the environment. The restaurant wasn't full, but wasn't empty but the vibe felt dead. They need some music like DJ day day station or whatever.

Hot to make Cameron better: reno.intlminutepress.com… Previous review: The seafood was good, but the service was poor on a busy night. The waitress was not very friendly. They were out of the beer I ordered, Guinness, and the espresso tasted very bad and was cold - I believe they just need a new espresso machine" To be fair, I am going to give them another chance by trying them again.

3.5 but not quite a 4. The food is good and solid, but nothing out of this world. I really liked what I ordered and I thought it was priced pretty well. For $15, I had a grilled farm-raised alaskan salmon, with coleslaw & steamed vegetables (there were more options for sides). Satisfying for lunch during work hours.

Came here for Mother's day with the fam... they have a nice selection of seafood, fresh fish and shellfish. Very diverse menu to satisfy all. Pops and i proceeded to order a few bottles of wine, and cold and hot appetizer for the table. Appetizers were OK, noting to rave about or crave to go back for. The grilled prawns were nice and large tho. Moms ordered the crab cioppino because she loves her some seafood. Lots of large pieces of Crab and white fish and came with Garlic Bread. My sis and i both ordered the King Crab Legs that came with only two legs, but they were very large and meaty.. could have honestly used a third leg tho! Anyways, the rest of the fam got Salmon or Mahi Mahi specials and all enjoyed their meals. Each entree comes with two sides.. i opted for the garlic smashed potatoes and spinach, both were good. Dessert was also good, molten chocolate cake and ice cream for the win! :)

I've been going to Cameron's for about 3 years or so. Every time I go in I'm greeted by the staff on a first name basis and enjoy the camaraderie of the people who are there. It's nice to go to place where people know your name and ask how you day is and all that. As for the food, I must say it is amazing. I'm a big seafood guy and they haven't failed me yet.. Cameron's is a great place to relax or dine with family and friends. Tommy

Great, family-owned and operated restaurant in Pasadena. The seafood is fresh and always delicious. This is a great place for a quick bite, or a family or group outing. Very kid friendly and I have found the staff to be excellent and courteous. Terrific place and should be high on your list.

If your in the area, stop and have a bite. My Aunt and I decided to give them a try and I was surprised the seafood was tasty with nice portions. The service was fast and servers nice. Not the best I have ever had but good.

Hubby and I just moved to the area, and after a day and a half of packing and moving and calling utility companies, we decided to stop in here and eat. Hubby got the Ribeye steak and I got a clam chowder bread bowl. Most of the menu seemed a bit pricy, but I figured we'd treat ourselves to something good! The clam chowder was disappointing. I really wanted to love it, but it was just bland and the clams were very chewy. The sourdough was also really heavy and unpleasant... Hubby seemed to like his steak, but the broccoli was almost raw which was weird. Overall, it's a but expensive for what you get, and I wish the clam chowder was better... but if you want seafood, it seemed pretty fresh. I was planning on reviewing this place and was surprised that it only got three stars. I'm hoping the responses from the "manager" are just from a disgruntled employee. We may or may not return.

One star because zero stars isn't an option. Ambiance: People of Walmart meets seafood Food quality: re-microwaved rubbery fish sticks. Frozen vegetables that are still frozen. Gordon Ramsey needs to visit.

I came here for Sunday Brunch and I really enjoyed the food here. I did not eat the breakfast items on the brunch table because they did not look like something I would want to waste calories on, but the seafood was so worth. I mean really, oysters and crab legs, all I can eat? Yes please! And Lox which was mediocre but still worth it. I loaded up on the lemons and devoured my seafood plate. But also with the brunch you actually get to order a meal and I got the New England Clam Chowder with the Eggs benedict. MMMMM those yolks pouring over bacon and crab was so good. My mom, grandma and sister all got the omelets and they loved those too. So I guess you can say I really liked this place. Make sure you come early though because it gets crowded and they stop serving the brunch at 2:30. Mmmmm who wants seafood!?

I absolutely love Cameron's. I have been here twice and both times I have not been disappointed. If you're into Salmon, I recommend the Blackened Farm Raised Atlantic Salmon. It is Delicious! They have a variety of sides to choose from. Their Garlic mashed potatoes are really well done and their Sliced Roma Tomatoes are tasty. They serve good right sized portions and their service is great. The waiters are very attentive. They have a Dessert Tray with a few dessert options. We had a Berry Bruleé dessert and it was soo good! First time trying it. The drinks are a little strong, but great nonetheless. I will definitely be going back to Cameron's.

First the waitress was wonderful! Sad the food couldn't match. Appetizer seafood platter: the crab was the only good part, the shrimp was bland and tasteless, the oyster was just rubbery vessel times two. Muscles were fine. Cocktail sauce was cheap ketchup sauce! Soup: New England clam chowder was corn starch enhanced add in some uncooked potatoes. The Manhattan clam chowder: hello mc fly! There is no cream base to that soup. Salad wedge: great blue cheese crumbs everything else was bad. The best part: steamed clams! If you go here only order the steamed clams. Dessert: the only thing I can say is prefab! Watch the cobbler being made it will make you laugh. This is a no return. To address Pete's comment: Yes, We tried both the soups. There were two of us and we ordered one of each. That's great if you make it daily, however I believe a trip to New England or Manhattan might give you a better sense of what that soup is supposed to be like. As for the cobbler, yes it sounds delightful on the menu that is exactly why we ordered it. Then laughed as they "crafted it" We paid for the meal and it wasn't about talking to a manager. Now seeing how the management acts, I could only imagine what it would be like if we addressed it while at the location. The waitress was extremely sweet and when she asked we were very clear on how everything tasted. I have lots of positive things to talk about, and great 5 star reviews. I'm sorry you had to personally attack my character for telling the truth. My reviews are honest and of my opinion. To address the private message sent: If you read this restaurants reviews you will notice this location actually harasses the people that leave truthful and honest reviews. It is sad they could go about things in such a better way. Professionalism might look a little something like this: "I am sorry you had a poor experience, however we feel it may have been an off night. We kindly invite you to come dine with us again and give us a second chance."

Service? What service? Terrible service. First and last time here. Food- oysters were delicious, but It took 25 minutes for our waiter to come take our appetizer order. I wanted to order my meal already but he took off too quick for me to stop him.

We took my parents here for dinner since they love seafood, and we didn't want to go to a chain. My husband loved the clam chowder! And the scallops I had were delicious! My parents enjoyed their fish and chips! We will definitely be back!

Not what you expect. Over priced and the food was just average. Server forgot to bring a couple of the drinks and had to be reminded. Had the fish and chips which is halibut but not much flavor. Fries were good but not hot. Not sure on what everyone sees in this place.

Over-priced, slow service to start with and messed up the reservations, which were made days in advance. We had two anniversaries, 50 and 60 years! We called ahead of time and asked for the room in the back. We get there and some of the party (of 8) were already seated right by the kitchen. When we asked to be moved, the mgr told us there was a $25 minimum for the back. My friend was quite upset and was told the min. charge would be waived. little did I know the bill would be so high that it wouldn't matter. They setup the back room and we were seated and waited and waited...and then waited some more. Someone finally had to get up and remind them that we were back there. It was Sunday evening and the restaurant was not half full when we arrived and only half full when we left. Once the food arrived (and I stopped starting at the paper placemats in an expensive restaurant), the food was pretty good. Our waitress was pleasant and fast. Everyone had full meals except one person who had only a baked potato. There was one mixed drink, one wine 5 beers and the rest sodas. Grand total was almost $340! A $45 service charge AND a built-in $45 tip? Really? $90 to serve 8 people for dinner? This is not a restaurant I will visit again.

So, in the spirit of fairness, let's give them 4 stars. I always thought of the place an mediocre, but after eating there several times recently, I've changed my mind. First, they are the only restuarant I know of in town that serves artichokes ... steamed or grilled, hot or cold. Order a hot steamed artichoke with garlic butter and a side of mayo and horseradish, and have at it. Delicious. Their fish and chips is outstanding. The clam chowder is pretty good. The wait servers are happy to do anything they can to make you happy. It has an older crowd generally, but I think these people just figured out a good thing.

Came by at 4:30 pm , two hostess but only one waiter? Another waiter on break at counter. Waited over five minutes to order drinks , another five minutes to order. Had to ask waiter for some bread. Asked waiter for more ranch dressing, had to ask again. Fish and Chips not crispy , Tempura shrimp okay , Salmon okay. Next time we will try Mc Cormick & Schmicks. One star was for poor service.

Love it here been coming here for years. It like the San Francisco type of fish restaurant, the atmosphere is like a nice clean old fashion seating. Go check this place out you won't be disappointed. If you are a seafood lover persons.

Decided to put in my own review after seeing some of the recent bad reviews. Came here with husband, father-in-law, and my 10 year old. We were greeted a few times as we came into the restaurant. 10 year old ordered popcorn shrimp, we ordered house appetizer, which is a mixture of fried seafood. I was very surprised at the quality of both dishes, they were very fresh, tasty, not dried out. 10 year old loved the popcorn shrimp, and so did we. Also ordered wild salmon, halibut, and New York Steak w/garlic shrimp. All were very good, again fresh. Steak was big, hubby only ate half, when normally he devours a 10 oz, very tasty. Some may think this place is a little pricey, but it isn't when you consider the quality and freshness. The portions are fine. They are normal potions, not the huge portions you get at some chains, but not small either. (except for the big steak). The only think we weren't impressed by was the clam chowder. Had much better at other places. Overall, great quality, fresh seafood, and good customer service. We will definitely come back

Man, where do I start I have never had to walk out of a restaurant until this past Tuesday. it was so upsetting considering that we've been customers to this establishment for over 10 years. Very sad. Our dinner went little bit like this... We were seated approached by a waiter. male, who was ungroomed and just overall unpleasant. we placed our drink orders and we were waiting for our sourdough bread and it wasn't until my husband had to flag him down to ask. hhe then shrugs his shoulders and goes 'oh ok' then he proceeded to go get your bread brings it back asked us for our order.we both ordered the red snapper plates with coleslaw and mashed potatoes. fish was completely over cooked totally UN edible. meanwhile every waiting staff and manager are chit chatting at the bar not doing anything at all. Not fIllin up drinks. not paying attention. not doing their job. my husband Flagged down our waiter to show him how UN edible our fish was. Waiter said oh wow I think that's just the way it is I might be a bad batch. he asked us what we would like to replace it with. I asked for trout my husband asks just for shrimp. He takes plates away...puts in the order...the couple sitting next to us turned over and stated that they both had a terrible dinner but was too shy to speak up for themselves. they paid and left. I felt bad for them and spoke up to the manager when she passed. Oh and to address our dinner since she Didn't care to ask. So I told her that not only were we not happy but the guests that just left werent happy. with all that being said. She said nothing! Lol but maybe bad fish?!? Hahaha what a joke. Pdoor girl. Not management material. At all. So we waited. Forever... before we decided to get up and leave. during that time I asked the hostess for the manager. Nothing! She just stood in the back with her head down. While her hostess and wait staff felt with UN happy customers. Good grief. The ultimate worse experience dinning out ever! The. UN groomed male waiter asked if we'd like to take our fish dinner home in a styrofoam box because it would be ready in the next 5 to 10 minutes and I asked if he would like to eat his $60 fish dinner and a Styrofoam box and he said no. I said then why would we. I asked are we all good because we're out of here and never coming back. he said yeah. go ahead. Manager within viewing and listening distance yet still refused to acknowledge what was going on. We will never come back!

I wish there was an option to give no star at all!!! The food here is disgusting and the service is even worst. The waiter was incredibly rude to my friend and I. After HE messed up our order TWICE and brought us out the wrong thing which we also sent back TWICE as a result, the manager marched over to our table as yells "what do you think we do, make food to throw it away?!" No apology for the poor service just rudeness and disrespect. After asking that the entree be removed from our bill he refuses. So I get up to leave and he called the police! I've sent food back before and never have I had the police called on me. So I waited in the front for the police to arrive. While walking to the front the manager yells "you better not leave!" I beg your pardon? I'm college educated and could pay for the crappy food if I wanted to. However, I refuse to pay for some nasty food I didn't eat. After explaining all this to the 4 police offers that responded to the call one of them paid for my meal and let me go home. NEVER go to this place the food and the service is disgusting.

Still just one star Greek salad w/ salmon - salad was drowning in dressing, Salmon was seasoned well little over cooked BREAD WAS STALE little busier than my last visit. The table show their age and wear the place is old and dated shows it. With some minimal work place could be uplifted and brightened up. Maybe you should visit and make your own decision, I just know what I expect from a seafood restaurant is really high and if you get to one star with me the restaurant is doing an okay job. Service was friendly and okay nothing to rant about. Good Luck Se

It is a very good place to eat, there are no too much customers, it is easy to find a good table, everything is really good, the apetizer is good(ceviche recommended), the main entree as well, the best lobster tail i've eaten , I love the creme bruleé for dessert, it can be a bit expensive for some but it worths what you pay for. Very quiet and lots of parking

Cameron's is a great place! I love how huge the food is! The fried selection is amazing large! I liked everything except the green mussels. The mussels we icky. Boiled way tooo long and with no sodium at all. They had no flavor. But everything else was really great! Great service, great food, and it was quick. Awesome huge menu! Will I return, yes! We were so happy!!

The seafood market portion of this place is definitely over priced. I wouldn't come here with the mindset that I am about to have the best seafood of my life, but this place isn't bad at all. They have a pretty large selection of different kinds of seafood and shellfish - cold or hot whatever your fancy. Came here for mother's day and there wasn't a huge crowd (technically not a good sign), but moms loves seafood so we came here. She got the crab cioppino which had plenty of large pieces of grab and white fish in it. I got the King Crab entree. They give you 2 grab legs but they are huge and massive easily the size of 4-5 legs you would get at the store. They are usually cut down the middle to make it easy on opening. The Garlic Smashed potatoes are probably my favorite around. Every place that says they have a garlic mash usually lacks flavor - but this place is on point and you can really taste the roasted garlic. My husband ended up getting the steak and grilled shrimp and he was really happy with his dish. I had a bite of the steak and it was actually pretty delish - not what I was expecting at all. And they cooked it perfectly medium to boot!

We drove down to So-Cal to meet up with my in-laws who were down to visit with Kevin's Grammy. We tried to time our drive along with their flight down so we could pick them up from the small county airport they flew into so they wouldn't have to bother with renting a car. We did a pretty good job-they beat us by 25 minutes or so. Once we left Whiteman Airport, we headed towards Pasadena where we were spending our first couple of nights. Since this was a Friday, we knew we would be tackling some nasty LA traffic but somehow managed to avoid anything heinous. We were all hungry and passed this restaurant on the way down to the hotel but made the decision to turn around to eat so that we didn't have to leave the hotel again after a long day of travel and so my MIL could rest. I looked on Yelp and saw the reviews were rather decent(ish) so here we went. We arrived around 6pm to a fairly empty large restaurant. This is an old school type of place with light colored booths, paper placemats and perfunctory service (this means not warm, engaging or inviting but efficient). The menu is huge-prices were decent for some things and a little overpriced for others. Sourdough bread was served but sliced thin like from bread slicer. We were hungry so it made due. 2 cups of clam chowder were ordered for the 4 of us to share and it was good. Full of clams, rich but not to rich and not overpowered with potatoes. We all liked it a lot. Kevin had the ciopiino which was served in a large Corning Ware serving dish-we all laughed since we had never seen this kind of serving dish for anything in a restaurant. It was served with a huge hunk of garlic bread. He enjoyed it as it was full of different fishies and crab (which he shared with his mom) and was glad he ordered it. My FIL ordered the tilapia and each dish was served with a choice of starch and coleslaw. The MIL had the scallops (which she loves in general) and I had the sea bass. We both had a potato and a the "fresh veggies". Both my fish and my FIL's fish were smallish portions and seasoned with paprika so they looked the same. Mine was by far the least impressive (and most expensive) as it reminded me of the way my Grandma would prepare fish at home in Phoenix when I was a child. Luckily, I liked my Grandma's cooking so I ate it thinking of her. The vegetables were not so fresh so I picked around what I could. Drinks were refilled promptly and they have crushed ice which I love and appreciate. This is not fancy dining, but when we left the place was more than 3/4 of the way filled. Personally, I wouldn't seek this place out again, but the meal was decent, the company better and we did all leave somewhat satisfied (but did end up leaving the hotel so my companions could get dessert somewhere).

Wow! My experience with this place just keeps getting worse. Yelp is supposed to be a place where you can rate your experience and that is just what I did. Not only do I feel attacked buy the owners response but now he is attacking me as a person. Just to clear some things up after the response I was just given. The food was bad. Cold, hard and burnt. The service was terrible and slow. I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking that maybe they are understaffed but it is more so lack of respect for their customers. I called to report my issue the very next day. Actually, I called every single day for about a week since my complaint. Not once did someone take the initiative to help. It was only passed onto the next person who did not even have the respect to acknowledge my situation. The "F -bombs" this owner is referring to was on the last phone call I made. He lied to me about who he was. He decided to turn the situation around and make it seem like I was making up this story. This establishment is a joke.

I have great memories of this place from my childhood, but yesterday's dinner out with my mom pointed to a few areas where Cameron needs a makeover stat. #1. The New England clam chowder is not good, and was frankly, unappetizing. It needs to be revamped because a great clam chowder would revitalize this place. Google "Bon Appetit's New England Clam Chowder" and you'll see what it should look like. It shouldn't be gooey and corn starchy. Places like the Hog Oyster Island Co. in San Fran are doing it right, and the lines out the door are evidence. The manager can stick to his guns and be stubborn on this, claiming that "lots of people like it" but I'm telling you: it's lacking in flavor, gummy, gooey, and gross. #2. The halibut was great, but the sides left much to be desired. Again, if they could revamp the potato and slaw. #3. The presentation in general was sloppy. My mom's wedge salad looked like someone vomited on her plate. It doesn't take much to improve presentation, so this is an easy fix. Service was middle of the road. The food deserved 3 stars. It's A-OK, but definitely not great.

Let me start out by saying that yes, it may be true that one of the stars I have awarded to this restaurant IS the result of a UCLA victory witnessed here. C'est la vie! When life is good, everything is great. I've eaten here several times with my fellow UCLA Bruins fans because it's a comfortable place to watch whichever Bruin game is being played. The food had never impressed me at all, to be honest, until tonight. Champagne? Yes, please. We selected a bottle of Korbel for the evening. And what could go better with Korbel than Oysters Rockefeller? Really, really delicous. And to finish it off, crème brûlée...not the best crème brûlée in the world but gets the job done. Service was nice, plenty of street and lot parking, and cable TV available to watch the game. And now I have my go-to menu for the next UCLA game. Go Bruins!

my wife and I came in for lunch and love this place. Our waitress Melody was wonderful, 1 tip is ask for exactly what you want. I ordered a halibut filet done english fish and chips style. It is not going to be cheap, fast food is cheap. The food was great and the service was better. we will be back.

Been here multiple times over the years. Is a very nice middle of the road Seafood restaurant. They have a tremendous selection of different fish and if you are a land lover... you have plenty to choose from here to keep yourself happy. Side Dishes are ok, nothing special. Really enjoy the potato's au grautin the best. All in all, definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

On my late summer West Coast swing a group of golf friends gathered at Cameron's, a righteous old school restaurant where I have enjoyed many great meals. When you can, dine with friends who enjoy a good laugh. Everyone views life through a unique prism of experience so maybe negative reviews reflect a darkness that behavioral meds cannot lift? My friend Willie is a veteran deep sea fisherman and I have enjoyed many fabulous seafood dishes at his home - from fresh lobster to scallops, sea bass to seared ahi tuna. Cameron's is like that, like dining at a friend's house who knows their business. This last visit we were in late on a Monday. The crowd had thinned and we had time to enjoy a cocktail and some laughs recounting stories about our epic poker games and golf matches (of which there are many). Even though there were few patrons, other than a quiet couple at the bar, we waited a fair time for our food. When it came there was silence, unusual for this five some, as we enjoyed our meal. No complaints. I won't go on about what everyone had. You know what you like and Cameron's probably has it. Go early or late with a few good friends so, If the service is bad, you can enjoy the downside and write a review about the dark side. Or let it be.

Rare to find a seafood restaurant out in Pasadena. Was excited to try this place. Very bright and noticeable red exterior. You can easily spot this place off Colorado. They have a small parking lot to the side of the restaurant. Ordered their mahi tacos (Great portion), and their New England Clam Chowder. Pretty tasty though nothing extraordinary. Service was friendly. Really liked our waiter. Was a nice place to try.

Way to go! You guys have been off the radar for a while. I'm so used to driving by the big red neon fish in front, I forgot that they actually do fish in here. Correctly, too. Forget the neon fish, here's the food: Crab cioppino: generous with the crab; marinara is thick and complex, not just lumpy tomato sauce. If I was Consumer Reports, I'd call this a best buy. Yum! Clam chowder: creamy with fresh celery flavors from the stock, white pepper flavors, no overpowering bacon taste, thankfully. Orange roughy: grilled on mesquite, delicate flavor of smoke in the background, cooked correctly (just opaque, not dried out). Served with lightly steamed fresh veggies. Verdict: Don't just admire the neon sign, eat the fish.

  • Don T.

The Cameron's menu has been consistent over the years. The Wild Alaskan Halibut was grilled perfectly on mesquite accompanied with tasty sides of au gratin potatoes and fresh vegetables, and wrapped up with warm berry cobbler a-la-mode. Delicious!

Ok I take back the shutting down part that was unfair. Really no reason to talk further it's now a he said she said thing. Like I said I enjoyed my meal that day, my mom not so much. When we were there there was no manager on site. That why my mom had to call later in the day. I think it was after 5pm. Is what she was told. We even left a tip for the waitress because we knew it was not her fault. Again we could go back and forth all day long. I understand you are defending your business. Only advice I could offer is to really check your staff and what they are doing on their down time, my family and will not be returning.

Completely disappointing! Food was not very good. I ordered the sea bass which was $30 and it was served blackened. It tasted like it was baked and they put some black spices on top. And it wasn't even hot! My husband had the fish and chips and he didn't even finish it. When we paid the really high bill we wished we had gone to Big Mama's instead. We won't be visiting this place again.

This review is specifically for the restaurant as I cannot speak for the fish they sell from their market. That being said, it is truly disappointing to see and experience how this place has gone down hill. I remember great dinner experiences here with my family when I was younger, however, my recent dining experience was substandard. I ordered the Red Snapper (excited, I love Red Snapper!). It came drenched in an inch of butter and tasted like it was unseasoned and microwaved. Definitley NOT fresh. My boyfriend ordered the halibut, same deal. Gross! Maybe some enjoy an extra buttery soaked fish filet, but I am not one of the them. We attempted to order something different and return our meals but our server had disappeared for about 30 mins. Once a new server was in our vacinity we called him over and just requested the check because we didnt want to deal with waiting any longer. As we were walking out, we overheard another couple in the parking lot clearly say "Well, that sucked." Hopefully this place can get it's act together. As I see from other patrons' comments, we were not the only ones that have left with an unsatisfactory experience. Maybe Chef Ramsey should be called...just sayin'

We're out-of-towners. We saw it and stopped after leaving Huntington Library and Gardens. We liked that it's local and comfortable. Had fish and chips. Delicious cod, and coating thin, like we like, but could be crispier. Fries very good. Cole slaw good. We also had California Roll and a side salad. Both good. Service good. Ambience comfy. They had a Sunday brunch all set up, but not many takers while we were there. Waitress said it had been there about 4 decades. I hope they are there 4 decades more.

So my original review was removed by yelp because It lacked substantive consumer experience. My original review was "it's just okay, always wanted to try this place and now that I have... There is no reason to return" And this is my response to the owner in a message which actually explained my experience of the visit. "My fiancé and I had the following three things.. 1.Appetizer Ceviche 2.seared ahi Cajun style 3.fish and chips The ceviche was old as if it stayed out all day to be served. My ahi didn't taste very fresh once all the Cajun seasoning was scraped off. There was so much seasoning it ended up being too salty. The fish and chips was good there were no issues with that. I just expected quality ingredients for the price. The price was not cheap ($75.00iirc)." Seriously, the ceviche was down right disgusting. It was so fishy we each took a bite and left the rest of it. Our server never bothered asking "how is everything?" She probably saw how much of our food was left and deep down knew just what she had served us. What a shame because we really did want to like this establishment. It has been in the community for a long time but unless they truly raise the bar I'm praying it doesn't last much longer.

My grandpa has a place in his heart for Cameron's, but his reasons are beyond me and the rest of my family -____- We showed up around 5 for dinner so there were very few people around and it was easy to park. However as soon as I got out of my car I smelled a really bad fish odor that made me nervous about what we were going to eat, since pretty much everything on the menu is a fish dish. We headed inside and the hostess seated us promptly but when I went to put my napkin on my lap I found that it smelled horrible, so I just left it on the table. Our waitress was very nice and the free bread they bring you is pretty good. I ordered the Cioppino and my grandpa had the panko breaded oysters. Both dishes were HUGE portions; my Cioppino came in an oversized ramekin and looked like it could serve three people. The stew had shrimp, crab, mussels, clams, fish and scallops so there was a nice variety. The sauce was really good and I enjoyed the pasta that they put underneath. The fish was okay but the crab and mussels did not taste very fresh so I was kind of worried after the smell I had encountered outside. My grandpa liked the oysters (came with vegetables and coleslaw) but it was too much so we ended up taking a lot of food home. In the end I'm not too keen on this place. Service was kind of slow, food was meh and it's not really worth the price you pay =(

I visited Cameron's while waiting for a tire repair at America's Tire across the street. I read the crazy back-and-forth between the owner and certain reviewers and was intrigued. I wanted to try it out and see if I could discredit the bad reviews. It wasn't as bad as the reviews I read were but it was still a weird experience. First, the service... It was around 3:30, so there were barely any customers. Yet my two servers were running around like they were on fire. This would have been fine except the service was still pretty slow. An older couple in my line of sight had a few questions for my waitress, and the waitress seemed annoyed by this, even going as far as to roll her eyes and let out an audible sigh. I actually felt bad for the couple. Who knows what my waitress was going through that day, but it definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. My waiter recommended the clam chowder and said, "We do really well on the clam chowder. It's one of our best-selling items." So I had to try it. I have to say, it was way more than I wanted to spend for a bowl of chowder, and it was way too big. I'd rather have paid two dollars less and gotten a smaller bowl. The chowder was disappointing. It came to me warm, not hot. It was very thick and had a displeasing consistency. The clams were somewhat chewy and it was under-seasoned. I really wanted to like this place. It seems like it has so much potential, but the execution is lacking. I'm giving it three stars because I don't think my experience was a full enough sample to judge it 100% accurately. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and I actually plan to go back soon with some friends. I will update my review after that.

Ok so wtf is the deal with a lot of places and people these days. My mom and her friends were meeting here for dinner. We all met there on time and we were seated within five minutes. Once we were seated I thought ok this place is big and seems a bit old but it was my moms birthday so i stayed. We did not have a server approach our table for a bit over 45 min so yeah wow. In between that time I actually went up to the bar area and waited for my drink about 10 min or so and went back to our table and still nothing. I got up and called for a waitress. We finally got water and bread besides the drinks I had got up and ordered and waited for at the bar that I brought back to the table yet again. I swear it took another hour just to take our order. I was ready to get up and walk out but again my moms birthday. Two hours into being there food finally comes. It was horrible and tasteless and very cold. My mom ended up sending her food back. I decided to just leave mine. I ordered instead the oysters. How could you fuck that up right. Yet another 35 min but at least the oysters were edible. That was the only thing that was ok to eat. So not worth the prices they charge. The manager was no where to be found. I don't think I would ever come here again. It was a very bad dinner experience. On top of that our server still got a tip that she did not deserve from someone else at our table. Very frustrating but the others I was with were still nice enough to leave her that tip!

My friend and I came down to Pasadena for the day to visit an art exhibition and were craving seafood so we decided to stop by. Based on previous Yelp! reviews, I was a little skeptical about what to expect. The waitress who attended to us was very personable and energetic, clearly eager to help us and made sure to check up on us, which was a huge plus. We ordered the House Appetizer Platter, which was wonderful and definitely a good example of the the type of food we should expect. It had fried shrimp, calamari, oysters, scallops and zucchini fries. Unfortunately, their house calamari was a little. underseasoned and the marinara sauce was more water than sauce, but it was definitely filling. For lunch, I ordered the Wild Pacific Red Snapper with cole slaw and the garlic smashed potatoes. The snapper was a little underseasoned, but in no way fishy, which was a nice surprise compared to the expectation set by the reviews of the fish. My dad used to be an avid fisherman and I'm used to fresh Red Snapper and this definitely won me over. The cole slaw was regular cole slaw, nothing spectacular but tasty nonetheless. The mashed potatoes were so good that I took my leftovers to go! My friend had the Garlic Shrimp Pasta and it was beautifully served with a side of shredded parmesan cheese. The flavor was good, a little light on the garlic, but the lake of butter it was swimming in made it a little bit heavy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The charismatic waitress even convinced us to take a piece of carrot cake on the road.

Get the fish tacos people! They're so good. I love them. They serve their alcoholic beverages stiff. I got a rum and coke... and it was like 90% rum. Beast mode. The clam chowder is pretty good. The bar server Tom is the best. I've also had the tuna melt for lunch on a separate occasion. Yum. Not a huge fan of their popcorn shrimp... but their calamari is good. That's all I got. Enterprise on 1890 E Colorado loves you Cameron's!!

Ive been eating here since I was a kid, and boy, has this place gone downhill! The service was poor! Server hardly made eye contact, awkward! Our drinks took TWENTY MINUTES! Our appetizer took about 30 minutes and was burnt! Took another 20 minutes after We sent it back. They did away with quite a few cuts of steak, bummer! My father ordered the ribeye which came out overcooked, and at the rate that the kitchen was going it wasnt worth it to send it back, he didnt even eat! he literally walked out of the restaurant! to top it off we watched our server chit chat with her fellow coworkers while food sat on the counter. Ahi tuna salad was RANCID! My wine took forever! Service used to be superb, not sure what the hell happened here! WE WILL NEVER be back! The manager was nice, but that really wasnt enough. We arent the type to ask for free food, paid and we are outta here! Maybe it was just an off night and may the force be with my fellow yelpers that try this place!

We traveled to the LA area and ate at Cameron's. There is little ambience. They have paper place settings and cloth napkins. The furniture and brass railing (80's style) is very outdated. The orange roughy was good and so was the fried shrimp. However they charge swanky restaurant prices with shabby outdated decor. I wouldn't go again.

No wonder this restaurant has been around since 25 years ago! I tried the steam dungeones crab, its so fresh that it melts in your mouth. My husband had their signature sea bass, absolutely good. We go there several times a year, the food and service is just getting better each time

Had the salmon on a plank with Raspberry sauce with Parsley potatoes and steamed veggies. Thinking back to my mom's parsley potatoes, this was kind of a sad version. It was cooked to the right consistency though. But the parsley powder was a joke. Vegetables seamed not too fresh and came out lukewarm. I take that back...broccoly looked okay, carrots and squash??? looked old. No flavor. Salmon : was cooked almost to perfection maybe just a little bit overcooked...jus a bit. Raspberry sauce was actually good. Portion was a good size, I was starving and finished all beside the old carrots. My friend ordered the baked potato..which was HUGE HUGE HUGE , with a bunch of vegetables on top, similar to the one I got ..except the bechamel sauce.....it was so heavy :( 3 stars. Not going to return probably. Wasnt too bad but with all the options in Pasadena....why come here??

I came here 10 years ago and decided never to come back. It was bland, blah and not my sort of spot!! Today I was driving down Colorado, on my way to a baby shower that I already knew would having nothing for me to eat. ( What does a Vegan Baby Shower have to offer me? ) soo..I decided to stop in an give it another try... Its been a decade so in all fairness its only right to give them another shot.. 1st of all the menu is huge and awesome... Great lunch prices and larger portions than I need... I wasn't a fan of the clam chowder, but my Mom loved it, and sadly the sour dough bread is shitty..I would prefer french rolls myself, but its not my place, so thats not my call. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops, they were cooked to perfection and its really easy to fuck up a scallop...so kudos to them...delicious...5 large scallops, and two sides...I think it was a steal for $15 Also got a panko crusted combo...I have a hangover today so went for double potatoes as my side ( garlic smashed and au gratin ) and damn there sides are good..way too much food...it came with white fish, scallops ( again cooked perfect ) and shrimp... I have totally changed my mind and now look forward to trying far more things on their menu...I was very impressed today. Service was also great!! Have to recommend Camerons as a good place to get a great seafood meal!

Hi all, so continuing this insane saga over my negative experience and review, the owner once again made a comment with indirect threats. Check out that link he posted...it's about getting yelp to turn over the names and information of negative reviewers. Scary and creepy!! Really think twice about going here with actions like this from management.

This is a very large restaurant on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. We had the clams, crab salad and the ahi. The clams were very fresh, about 12 in a bowl for $12.00. The ahi was seared medium rare and was served with vegetables and white rice as requested. The fish was fresh, the vegetables rather dull. Not sure if the crab was that fresh and we could not finish it. If I was to return, I would definitely try another salad and expect more freshness.

Just to respond to Pete G of Cameron's, you're responding to the wrong customer n probabl o. Haven't been here in over 10 yrs at least,; so thought w e'd try it again. We weren't a group of four, and no, we didnt lick our plate clean. Although I stand firm to my review that the food sucked! We actually took the rest to go cause we just couldn't eat it n thought we could at least give it to the homeless guy down the street. I'd have to say that service was ok, and yes, like the other customer said, PLENTY of parking. That's cause the place is empty!!! So make some changes,, get a new cook, and make even more changes and maybe you can fill up your parking lot and restaurant. Good luck with that!

3 stars is right. Just a few blocks further and we could have gone to San Marino Seafood, spent less money and hopefully enjoyed the food. But I'll probably never know because we don't go out for seafood that much. The panko scallops were OK. Not worth $17. The potatoes au gratin were starchy. I liked the bread more! The orange roughy did not taste mesquite grilled. It just tasted like the grill. My husband doesn't think so. Service was OK, I asked for several things over and over, and I'm not a terribly demanding person in general and after asking once I usually give up. But CMON water with LEMON means not with LIME. *sigh* The waiter just forgot? I don't really know, but he was very nice. I didn't think the service should have been bad considering they were pretty empty. Wont be going here again-- this is what I get for listening to my husband who doesn't trust Yelp. PFFFT!

My grandmother and I came in here on Saturday for lunch, and it was so good, and our waitress so lovely, that I had to come to Yelp. But, whoa, the reviews are so bad! We had a delicious meal--top to bottom. We both had the Maryland soft-shell crab salad, which was delicious. And the chef made mine gluten-free, which was awesome. And our waitress (who was also the bartender) was one of the best I've ever had: funny, nice, attentive. Yes, the ambiance isn't the best, but we were happy to sit in a booth by the window in the bar and enjoy each other's company.

The negative reviews are waaay too dramatic to be accurate. Unpretentious fish place that retains the simple approach of serving fish cooked all kinds of way. They serve BIG food here on big plates, not little food on huge plates. This is not a cutesy, glittery place to attract hipsters. It has fish mounted all around the walls. It is an old fashioned place to enjoy a drink, some seafood and a quiet meal with mature staff who know how to conduct themselves. If you are looking for honest seafood and not afraid of the fryer, then come here. If you are part of the overstimulated, self-indulgent crowd who want to be considered a rock star just because you happened to go here to eat, you need to go somewhere that caters to your shallow existence where they will charge 2X while they buss your rump.

I can't believe the low ratings this restaurant has been given on yelp?? Maybe the stars were all in alignment the night we eat there, I really don't think so. From the hostess to the waitress and the bartender they were all great. We could not ask for a better wait staff that were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. From the chowders, and appetizers to the main dishes all the food was excellent. We were a group of six and all came away satisfied with the food and service. Don't let the yelp rating keep you from going to a great seafood restaurant. 5 stars from me.

First and last time eating there. Before the tip, $ 120 for 4 people, no booze, no apps. Food took a long time to arrive, one entree 15 minutes before the other 3. Had to send some food back that wasn't hot. Swordfish tough and oranged to death with paprika. Everything unnecessarily salty. Felt like I was eating in the Midwest far from a fresh seafood source in 1994.

This is a pretty famous seafood restaurant in Pasadena. I have been there like 12 years ago and just revisited them tonight. Its perfect for oysters...so fresh and yummy. Easy parking. Pretty casual and most of the diners are older crowd. You can find whole steamed crab for a good price ($30-36) . Oysters for $16(6pcs) most of dishes are $25-40 range. Its not my favorite seafood restaurant but I would go for some oysters and seafood pasta and beer. A good place to grab some seafood n drinks.

This was our first visit to Cameron's because we are seafood lovers and heard good things about the place. Overall, we thought the food and service combined were OK, but not especially stand-out great. The bread that came out first was sliced bread (not warm) with regular whipped butter, so nothing new there. As for our entrees, we ordered the Mesquite Grilled Shrimp and Scallops Skewer, Shrimp and Scallops Fettuccine with garlic butter sauce, and Shrimp Sampler (which was technically an appetizer - it came with 2 Mexican Shrimps wrapped in bacon, 2 Shrimp Scampi and 2 Tempura Shrimp). The shrimp and scallops on the skewer were large, but not as flavorful as I had expected they would be. The pasta dish was also a hefty portion, but again somewhat bland. The star of the evening was the Shrimp Sampler appetizer which went to my 7-year-old as her meal who LOVES shrimp. She raved about everything except the tempura, which was - you guessed it - bland and flavorless. Side dishes (mashed potatoes and steamed veggies) were fine, but not particularly special. Service was great and our waiter was friendly and attentive. I would say all-in-all it was a 2.5/3 star experience. If we decide to come back, we'll be sure to order something crab-related. We were envious of the entrees we saw at other tables: steamed whole dungeness crab and huge king crab legs - they looked amazing!

This place gave me a bad stomach ache... about an hour after I had the meal there.. it almost made me feel body-aches/chills.. but i drank tons of water and vitamin c right then and there, i don't feel too bad right now after using the restroom.. but holy-shit.. being that this is a sea-food place, i'm scared to eat there again.. but it's not like i want to... the clam-chowder tastes like creamy-water, the only flavor came from the sour-dough bread-bowl, which was extremely hard to tear off without making a mess..

I honestly can not believe this place is still in business. I never pay much attention to the decor of a restaurant but walking through this place, it screams to you how disgustingly old and decrepit it is. Came here on a Friday night during peak dinner hours and the place was EMPTY. Not a good sign. The fact that the entire place smelled like a crack head's garage was also not a good sign. Received cold (canned?) soup and the worst, definitely FROZEN fish I have ever tasted. We could actually see all of the kitchen staff from our table standing around joking with each other since they obviously don't need to do any preparation back there. On top of all this; it was expensive!! If you want disgusting seafood, go to Long John Silver's. At least you won't empty your wallet there.

I have one to die for dish here at Cameron's The Cajun Chilean White Sea Bass (MP), with sauteed spinach and au gratin potatoes. Yes, au gratin potatoes. It has surpassed the Chicken jidori w/ white chocolate godiva sauce at Red, White & Blue as my "To-Die-For" dish. Find it under "Mesquite-Grilled Entrees" and get the Cajun option for an extra $.95. Oh, the butterness (is that a word?) combined with the spinach and cheesiness of the au gratin potatoes- aaaahhhhhhhhh. Don't let the sea-faring deco dissuade you. Don't worry that half the patrons seem to be seniors- hey, they've been around to know greatness right? You need to go to Cameron's to try this dish. And maybe start with the appetizer of Little Neck Clams ($11) oooohhhh- with a nice glass of Pinot- this is the way to start a meal.

I went here because I was in the neighborhood for lunch. This place reminded me of Gladstones for some reason. I ordered the fish and chips. I really have nothing to say about the dish that was good. The fish was rubbery, the batter was soggy, the slaw was bland. I have eaten better fries at most fast food places. Check out my posted picture. No bueno.

Service here is great, the best you can get ! The fish and seafood here is allways fresh. Try the blackened Salmon or the suna blackened - Delicious They have some selections that are not correct to get, and the staff do tell you that it is great fish, but when it comes to fish that are endangered like the chilean Seabass YOU should NOT buy them and they should NOT serve them. That is the reason for me to only give 3 stars instead of 4,

As a seafood lover, I went to this place by chance. The place seemed organized and tidy and they do have a sports bar in the restaurant. The menu was pretty diverse overall when it came to seafood. I ordered the salmon skewer entree and thought it was ok. My lady's family members enjoyed their dinners from soups, pastas, to fish and chips (beer battered!). To put it quite simply, this place is not really that different from any ordinary seafood restaurant. I have my picks, but this one is a try if you are only around the area and love seafood. This place is not cheap, so at least $17-$25 per person and appetizers can run high as $14 depending on what you order. Gratuity is automated in your bill and the downside is no ATM machine :( Service was great on the other hand though!

The food is great, service is great, clean, a full bar and patio. Love it. I've tried a variety of dishes on the menu and no complaints on any of it. Favorites are the blackened salmon Greek salad and grilled fish. Portions are generous, drinks are worth it and food is fresh. Service is great!

Sad to see the demise of once thriving restaurant in is prime 15 years ago. Cold bread and fake whipped butter. Fish tacos were served cold with little tiny littlle chunks of fish, shredded cheddar, cabbage and some canned green salsa for $16. Just poor food quality. The scallop and shrimp skewers ....the scallops were still raw and the shrimp was so...so probably frozen. Clam chowder was bland. Ladies restroom was filthy! The walls, floor and hardware looked like it hasn't been cleaned and sanatized for years.....there is no excuse for that!! You need to abbreviate your menu reduce pricing and regain food quality.

I've been to Cameron's quite a few time, and here's what I suggest: * Don't order seafood! The only successful seafood I had was their clam chowder! Definitely above average! Everything else is subpar. * Order the Caesar Salad! It is the best thing they have there! They have ruined Caesar Salads for me from anywhere else! They make their own dressing, and give you anchovies on the side if you ask them for some! * They have a very decent happy hour! I've only been twice, but I remembered their alcohol was cheap and they offer complementary hors d'oeuvre! * Their strength is steak and potatoes! Their Idaho picnic and their NY steak are excellent choices! So, it's not a restaurant I can just order any old thing off their menu. But that's ok! The items that are good are totally worth the trip, every time!

Depressing experience... I went in with my wife and got the worst service, rubbery scallops and an inflated check to boot. The service was really slow. My wife switched out her meal because it wasn't done properly. It took them forever to get a new meal out. When we were done, we waited another 30 minutes to get our check. We complained to the manager - who did nothing nor really even cared. I don't recommend Cameron's to anyone.

I used to love this place, but lately it seems the service and quality of food are hit or miss. Last time here had an attentive server and awesome food. Went tonight and it took 30 minutes for our drink order to arrive and the food was lackluster. The place was not very busy for a Monday night so I don't understand why the service was lacking, but it was. Our server had to correct herself on several occasion from sounding ghetto and unprofessional and she smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Yuck.

The place is average. Service was good, place was clean, but food just okay. I had their signature dish, cioppino. My fiancee had the almond crusted trout, which was good. There are some items on the menu I might return to try (i.e., crab salad, fish taco, and salmon on plank). If I don't return, it's simply because there are too many good restaurants in the Pasadena area.

Went here with my friends and husband for celebrating my birthday. Felt like seafood and pasadena was a good place to meet up. Should've read the rating, but my husband doesn't believe ratings, sooooo there we were. Parking is super busy, but that's normal for Pasadena. Decor is really nice. Nice and crowded in there, so that's a good sign. Sourdough bread was OK. Baked oysters was pretty good, but tasted fishy to me. Crab cakes were really salty. If you add a lot of sauce, it ok. Loses 1 star. I had the crab ciopinno, and so did my friend. Others had barramundi and seafood pasta. I thought the crab ciopinno was horrible. The only good thing about it was the garlic bread. The soup was watery. The fish was fishy. The mussels and clams did not taste fresh. In fact, we figured out that they are the frozen kind, which is very disappointing. I didn't get any shrimp in mine, though my friend did. The scallop didn't taste fresh. Probably wasn't. In summary, the ciopinno was the worst I've ever had. I know, I 've had my share of ciopinno. I tried the baramundi, which also tasted fishy. Loses 2 star for seafood that tastes really not fresh. The cheesecake was good, but just tastes like Eli's. The carrot cake wasn't very good. How they are still busy, I don't know. I will never go back.

We used to eat lunch here on a regular basis but due to work we can not come as often as we would like. I found a vast difference in their food. We ordered the Calamari that was one of our favorites, we did not receive the rings & tentacles we are used to. There were lots of strips? And tiny pieces like we were served the dregs of the case. My husband and I both ordered the small Caesar salad, it was over dressed and the croutons seemed deep fried then dipped in butter, no cracked pepper was offered. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller as my entree and was told to be careful, the top plate is hot, it wasn't nor were the oysters. My husband had the Fish & Chips, he was indifferent about his meal not bad, but not great. May come back for lunch but not dinner. It makes me sad after all the happy memories here.

My annual birthday dinner at my favorite restaurant. We live about 30 minutes away with no traffic, and being an ex-waitress at Cameron's (20 years ago) it was and is my favorite restaurant. I love the scallops wrapped in bacon and forget the coleslaw, it is good but the annual treat is the double augratin potatoes. There are a few modifications in the decor, taking down the wall in the one room and adding the big rounds was genius. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and we had excellent service. See you next year.

I come to Cameron's when I'm in the mood for great seafood and healthy comfort food. A few of my favorites include the New England chowder - so good (not obviously healthy). The halibut fish tacos are great as is the salmon and halibut kebab, the cedar plank salmon - so good, and the chicken club sandwich (not traditional however it is ridiculously good). They are a few of my go to items. Service has always been great. I usually go into the bar for either lunch or late lunch/early dinner when the bartenders switch. Whoever serves you are always attentive and really welcoming and nice. (The blonde Aussie/Brit? Is really fun and always has a lot of recommendations.) The drinks are always strong and tasty, they make a great lemon drop and Bloody Mary. Would totally recommend.

So it's late after hanging around in a backyard on a warm bright, summer evening, proving to myself I have no control over a child's fly fishing toy. After getting the little dangling fishy at the end of the line stuck in bushes, trees, over the wall into the neighbor's yard, and hitting a window, its time to eat after finally making into the water. Cameron's is suggested. I have never been, so what the hell. The good points were my nice strong Fizzy Screw cocktail. I always like that trait in a cocktail. Oddly, the sourdough was nice and sour, but my friend stated it tasted stale. I see that to be a running theme from other reviews, but can be easily remedied. I however, still enjoyed it slatered in butter. I was impressed with the Calamari. Not usually my favorite, but I liked that the rings and legs were good sized and the meat itself was not at all chewy. The added peppercini and green onion slices went really well with the calamari itself. A variety of fish is offered from Shark to Ono. I always like when Shark is offered. But this was a just a bit dry. The Mahi Mahi was very dry and kinda chewy. overcooked. My shark option was much better though also overcooked. My side of veggies were good. Not boiled, but steamed just right. What was really enjoyed by both of us was the Fried Cheesecake for dessert. It was more like a Cheesecake Eggroll wrapped up and fried and served with chocolate and icecream. I claimed I was full and only wanted a taste and ended up eating quite a bit of it. We also took some lemon cake to go and this was really good the next day. Not the best place, but good variety with no wait for a table. Maybe a tad overpriced for simple food. The comments about Peter G.'s harassment if your review does not suit him worries me as that is a HUGE no-no in my book.

Meh. Don't bother. Way over priced, and not enough quality. I'd much rather go to Red Lobster -at least you get cheddar bay biscuits there. Cheesy interior -complete with wood framed pictures of boats, a large anchor, and a mounted marlin. *yawn* I had the shrimp scampi....I think. I can't even remember -that's how unimpressed I was, and I was also distracted by the bill. At least I satisfied my curiosity -I drive by this place all the time. Save your cash and just drive down to Santa Monica like the rest of us to get quality seafood.

I was planning on going to Cameron's for the first time for my birthday next week. But now I am having second thoughts after seeing Pete's comments. I don't know if I want to give a place my business that has such a childish, petty person representing them on Yelp.

Over priced, the food was tasteless, the service was very poor. How could you ruin a salad well they did at Cameron's some simple like a Shrimp Salad and even a Shrimp Cocktail. Anyone can throw shrimp on top of some lettuce. As for the shrimp cocktail laying shrimp on ice and putting some sauce on the side is not a shrimp cocktail. Don't waste your money Red Lobster is much better for less money!

Just had dinner there with my partner and there wasn't a lot of people eating. But first thing i've noticed is that the host/hostess is missing. It was freezing inside too. In terms of food we had crab cakes and fried clams for appetizer. Not the greatest and taste bland. Not even the sauces helped. Got pasta with shrimp/scallops in cream sauce and catfish for entree. The pasta looked cold when I got it. And had 3 pcs of shrimps and 3 pcs of scallops. The catfish wasn't great either and tasted bland even with the seasoning on the top. Was thinking of taking my family there for mom's day but was disappointed with the food. Mind you i grew up eating seafood (not sushi) and I've had better meals than what I got tonight. Finally the service. To our server, smile when u serve next time. Your lines were so insincere too. No one also asked if we need water or extra bread while waiting for our food. I have to think about going back to this place again (or not).

The staff: I came to Cameron's for a workshop my office was presenting. We were expecting 51 people, so we had requested a private room. The room was set up when we arrived, but for only 36 people. The staff was very helpful to get everything in order, before our guests arrived. Pete, the manager was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We ended up with 40 guests (due to rain) and I was very impressed with how efficient the waitresses and wait staff were! The food: This was my first time ordering food at one of our workshops, because I'm usually working... so I was excited! I ordered the Grilled Tilapia, with Parsley Potatoes and Steamed Vegetables. The waitress asked if I wanted soup, so I ordered the New England Clam Chowder. The Clam Chowder was so good, I didn't even wait for it to cool down before inhaling it! The tilapia was downright delicious. It was perfectly seasoned and tender. The potatoes and vegetables were tasty, as well. Even the sourdough bread was good! We are presenting another workshop there next week and I can't wait!

I've been to Cameron's several times already. I usually come here for lunch either on a Wednesday or Friday. My favorites are their Calamari and Fish Tacos. I wanted to try something else but most of the time I end up ordering their Calamari or the fish tacos. Guess I just have simple taste. Hahaha. Cameron's have a wide variety in their menu. Service was good.

My personal experience has been great each time. I have been frequenting Cameron's for well over 16 years and have been pleased for the most part. I tend to stick mainly to the seafood as the steak was just ok for me. Staff has always been friendly and the seafood and sides amazing and when I want to drop by to pick up my order to go I call it in and its nicely packed and ready to go when I get there-with the same quality I receive when dining there. I believe this is a family owned operation and all I can say is im truely pleased.

I guess this place is a locals favorite, but I can't see why. It is not the worst fish house type restaurant I have been to, but it sure ranks up there as a pretty poor excuse for a seafood restaurant. So a friend and I go for dinner, because he was there at lunch once and enjoyed it. But boy was I surprised to see Old Pasadena prices on East Colorado. Most fish/seafood entree's were in the $20 - $30 price range, and came with the standard two sides. I guess the pricing is standard for a good fish house restaurant, but this place is overpriced by at least $5 per entree. I had a panko mixed plate, and the white fish tasted like something they picked up from Costco and then just threw it in the fryer. Yuck! The prawns weren't much better, the scallops were the best, but not by much. My friend had grilled scallops wrapped in bacon, and he was disappointed. My coleslaw was mass produced and the steamed vegetables my friend had were the same. You know, I don't mind mass produced Costco type seafood, but not at $20+ per plate. Save your money and visit Long John Silvers or your other favorite fast food seafood type joint - Cameron's just ain't worth the price or the hype.

I went to Cameron's last year and again last night. Both visits were very good food and service. We had a variety of seafood last night including salmon, shrimp, scallops and snapper. Not quite sure what the negative reviewers were thinking as my personal experiences were great. And despite my living in Arizona, not known for great seafood, I do get around to both coasts and Maui so do know a bit about good seafood!

Location A (being very close to Huntington Library). Parking A. Ambiance B. Service B. Food A. Tip: You must ask for bread. The Copper River salmon was incredible experience, damned near perfection. The salmon came with no sauce applied to the fish. I could most easily judge the reputation of Cooper River salmon and I could most easily calculate the innate value of this fish. I will remember this fish for a long time to come. It was cooked perfectly and a good serving size. I have never had salmon that tasted this good anywhere. Other people in are party ordered other dishes and they thought them to be very good. We ate at about 3pm so the place was near empty. I can not attest to the typical noise level or any service failure when the place is full of people.

I had one amazing meal here on my own, just off a plane on a hot Spring day a couple of years ago, as I was staying at a hotel just down the road: it was an absolutely brilliant cioppino, which was packed with loads of different seafood and served with pasta. Service was really friendly and the waitress kept the cold beer coming as I got over the jet lag from London and the 2 hour journey across LA to Pasadena. I doubt i'll ever be back, but it was a highly memorable meal. It does look like the sort of place that could be featured in 'Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares' (just in terms of the set-up, nothing bad happened at all!), but I actually found the family-run feel and dated decor really endearing and a refreshing change from the uniformity of so many places of its kind.

decided to give this place another try. definitely a better experience than the first one. the new england clam chowder and mexican shrimp cocktail were delicious. and my boyfriend's macadamia nut crusted entree was also good. always great service and ambience as usual. give it a try.

Delicious and fresh tasting seafood on a menu with tons of items. fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and the price is right. lots of seating and friendly servers. they also have a seperate area attached to the restaurant where you can buy all types of seafood on ice. it's a great place for anyone who loves seafood for sure.

3.5 Stars My fiance (Let's just call him M) and I decided to give Cameron's another shot. It's close to home and we love sea food! We went in Friday night and the place was busy, but we were seated right away and our server took our drink order promptly. A basket of sourdough bread and butter made its way to the table. Maybe some day I'll like sourdough bread. But M happily at my portion for me. The Crab Cake appetizer made it to our table quickly after the order was taken. They were tasty and came with a side of tarter sauce and cocktail sauce We then got our food in a good amount of time and dove right in. I had the Linguini and clams (again) while M got seared Ahi tuna with fries. The Linguini had much less butter/ oil than my first experience and I ate most of it (I didn't want to get too full since I wanted to try some of M's food!). The seared Ahi was really good, with a buttery texture. MMmmmMM. The fries were fresh, crispy and hot. Our server was perfectly attentive. We enjoyed our dinner at Cameron's this Friday night. I would definitely come here rather than Red Lobster. The atmosphere is interesting and welcoming at Cameron's.

I am one of those people who have been coming to Cameron's FOREVER. I usually go with the fam for Sunday night dinners. Those days are behind us because the prices have definitely gone up. Some pointers for a budget friendly but yummy meal: 1. If you start with a garden salad, split it. The portion is large enough and if I remember correctly it's $6. Do the splitting yourself, don't ask the server bc they will charge you. This is true for entrees as well. 2. Eat at lunch. The portions are virtually the same and you save about $10 a plate for a main entree. 3. Skip the bread basket. It's cold sliced sourdough served with frozen packets of butter. No thanks! 4. They give you some strong mints on your way out to cover your fishy breath :) I loooooove the blackened halibut here. I have never really ordered anything else but I have had bites of the swordfish and that was also good.

the most amazing caesar salad I have ever eaten! when it comes to Caesar salad I am a very picky eater. Either it is too fishy, drenched in dressing, not enough dressing, stale croutons or just bland. but Cameron's seafood had not a single flaw in anything I had eaten that night. I ordered a Caesar salad as a starter(which is HUGE, should be a main course) and a new England clam chowder bread bole as my main course. My boyfriend shared the Caesar salad with me and got his own fish and chips. The fish and chips took a little bit longer to come ut, but it was ridiculously fresh. it was crisp and hand breaded in the back. I had a wonderful experience and when I don't have time to sit down and enjoy my dinner, I take it to go!

How is this place still open? We came here for brunch and boy was it a mistake! The only thing good was the orange juice...I guess. I almost feel bad for this place. Oh well eat and learn!

I went to Cameron's with my girlfriend because she wanted fish. The service was okay and so was the food. I was not impressed by this place whatsoever & I also feel it is overpriced. I doubt I will return to this restaurant again. There are many other places to go and eat good seafood just not in Pasadena so this place will suffice.

I have been here twice already, both times I had this dissatisfied feeling of over paying for sub-par seafood. The service was decent but the food is below average. I do not suggest this place if you are a big seafood eater or do not want to part with your money for average to below average food.

The portions aren't huge. Some of the fresh fish dishes left my (girl)friends and me wishes for heftier portions of side dishes. However the portions seem to be the same for lunch and dinner, so they seemed heavier when we went back for lunch. The ambiance is nice. It looks like a welcoming family friendly restaurant. The selection of fresh fish and seafood and methods of preparation (that don't necessarily involve frying!) are great. I was a little underwhelmed by some of the dishes though compared to what I anticipated looking at the fantastic menu...

If you love seafood and hate places like Red Lobster, this is a must-try. It's a bit pricey, but seafood usually is. We love the Oysters Rockefeller and everything else we've tried is fresh and tasty. Service is good. The place is pretty big and I've never seen it packed. We'll be back most definitely.

I thought the fish was excellent here. I had the Parmesan Sole while my gf had the Chilean Sea bass. Both were excellent and juicy. The sides were a different story. The rice was acceptable, clam chowder way too salty, fries was okay, and vegetables were mushy. Also, don't even try eating the bread...it's like eating stale sourdough bread. Prices were a little high, but nothing you wouldn't expect...19 for sole and 28 for sea bass. Service was slow...don't understand why because the place was practically 1/3 full (monday night at 8pm). I could see our waitress chatting at the bar... 3 stars for the fish, no stars for anything else.

Been passing by this place since the mid 90's, always had the urge to try but never did until tonight. Overall, it's decent. Seafood was fresh and service was on par. Restaurant is really large and they have a consistent customer base since the waitress was talking to her guest like she's known them for years. I started my meal with a bowl of Manhattan clam chowder ($6). From 1-10 scale, I give it a solid 8. Every bite was filled with chunky clams and potatoes. Next up, the bucket of mussels ($12). Not so bad. Meaty and fresh. It could use more butter or garlic when it was steamed. Main course: Trout with potatoes au gratin($17). Trout was fresh but again lacked seasoning. The potatoes was really good. I give my entree a solid 7. My friend had the yellow tail dinner special ($20). The yellow tail steak was huge but the sauce on it didn't go too well with the fish. He loved the garlic mashed potato! We told each other that the next time we come here we'll just get the soup and order the seafood appetizers. Skipping the entree entirely! The have their own parking lot and there is street parking available.

I had dinner at Cameron's several times, about five years ago, and really enjoyed it. I even recommended it to everyone I knew. So naturally I thought it would be a great place to have dinner with my husband this weekend. Even when I looked up the address on Yelp and saw all the one- and two-star reviews, I thought, "well, Yelpers can be awfully picky. It can't be that bad, if it was so delicious a few years ago." Yelpers, I'm sorry. I will never doubt you again. We ordered the cold seafood platter as an appetizer. The crab meat was messy, rubbery, and tasted like it came from a can. The prawns had a bizarre flavor and were also rubbery in texture. The clams tasted like something very nasty had died in my mouth. Even then I would not be deterred. I am a fool. I thought, well, how badly could they screw up a lobster tail? It can't be any worse than Red Lobster. It was. It was worse than Red Lobster. The lobster tail was so overcooked that it was as hard as a rock. When I tapped my fork upon the meat, it actually made a tapping sound. I was brave and tasted it anyway. It tasted bitter, and strange, unlike any lobster I've ever had. The garlic smashed potatoes tasted bad also, and they looked like they had been sitting out at a buffet all day. The vegetables were sad, completely flavorless, and just... mushy. And whoever said that the "drawn butter" tastes like fake movie theater butter was exactly right. I am not a picky eater. I have only ever sent food back a few times. But I sent my dinner back and ordered a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad was... OK. It wasn't gross but it wasn't good either. I am so disappointed. What happened to this place? Someone call Gordon Ramsay!

Cameron's was a very comfortable spot for diner. Salads were OK. Cedar planked salmon was delicious, and my companion enjoyed her monkfish. Vegetable were nicely steamed. Coffee was very average, and is kept in the glass carafe on the burner. This is something they should upgrade. I'm from the Midwest and probably easily impressed by fresh seafood. Eating seafood in Illinois is like eating sweet corn at the seashore - not the best!

"No crazy hoarding on the walls or ceiling, or big tanks to convince you you're in a fresh market. Come here and enjoy." I don't know if it was my stomach or because of the visual way they described their menu items, but everything looked good on the menu, from the appetizers, grilled seafood, skewers, filets, and traditional market priced catches, to the USDA Choice cuts, and even, for this burger guy, a Kobe Beef burger, which I may try on my next trip. The clam chowder is good, medium cream base, decent sized chunks of clams, and not as many potatos swimming around. They also have Manhattan style, which I always prefer, and this was slightly different as the tomato was less over powering - more of a minestrone as it had those vegetables in there - but came out to be a nice flavor. Haven't had too many places that have this variety, so it is hard to compare - but it's good, which is all that matters. I landed with the Cioppino (menu says what this place is famous for), a combination of crab legs, mussels, clams, scallops, and a type of white fish... which let me tell you, were plentiful, and in big chunks like big juicy chicken chunks! All put together in a nice hot marinara type sauce... they were actually short on the clams as they had previously ran out, but there was clearly enough weight in there not to notice. The scallops and the crab meat being cooked in the shell does the best in this soup as it absorbed the flavor better than the others. This is just a great place for no-nonsense good food. No crazy hoarding on the walls or ceiling, or big tanks to convince you you're in a fresh market. Come here and enjoy.

We blew into town for the parade. This place is locally owned and close to the hotel. I'd give it 3 - 1/2 stars. Busy, but not crowded. Decor, kitchy seafood house. Service was friendly and attentive. Good selection of beers on tap. Seafood very tasty. New England clam chowder very tasty. Good crab cakes. We had, the ahi, Mahi Mahi, fish & chips and scallops. All pronounced good.e

Reserved the room and table in back for Father's day. They had a brunch menu that included drink, entrée, side, and full buffet for $26. Kinda pricey considering I didn't think I would eat so much and you couldn't take anything to go. So the wife ordered from the regular menu, I ordered the brunch special and we shared (even though they said we couldn't). I don't always enjoy seafood...but this was really good. I had the salmon for the entrée and it was delicious. The buffet was above average. I really enjoyed the omelette's and waffles made to order. I'm not sure what the prices or environment is like on a regular day but I would surely try it again.

This is a wonderful fish restaurant for someone who is looking for very good food with good service at a reasonable price. I just don't understand the negative reviews and the unfair rap that it is only oldsters. The crowd was a nice mix of ages with no particular group dominating. I went for my birthday dinner with my daughter and had the Barrumundi ($22) (excellent) with steamed veggies after we shared starters of grilled artichokes and steamed clams. Note that the dinner entrees come with two sides which makes it a very good deal in my book. My daughter had the Mahi Mahi and enjoyed her dish as well. Both fish dishes were mesquite grilled and plesantly spiced but not overpowering. The service was very attentive and the waters were refilled promptly. I also had two craft beers ($5.50), an Anchor Steam and a Lagunitas IPA (my daughter was driving). My daugher had a Margarita which was very good. I have been to this restaurant several times before, but generally at off hours. This was the real test of a good place to see if it can perform at the busy times at the peak of a Friday night crowd. We sat a the very back room next to a window which was a little cold, but that was the only negative. We never had to wait too long to order and the service was properly paced to give us time to eat, but not to require us to wait an unreasonable amount of time. For dessert we shared a generous sized and very tasty pecan pie with vanill ice cream which was complementary because of my birthday.

Forget the self-serving reviews of this place: The food is mediocre to poor, and portion size has shrunk as prices have increased. This restaurant has slid way down hill over the last 20 years. The complimentary bread used to be a robust loaf of sour dough. Now it is more like a slim, thin-sliced sour dough sample. The big chalk board hanging from the ceiling not longer lists the daily fresh fish, at least on the back, empty side where everyone sits. It just hangs there in mute testament to the decline of the restaurant. This was formerly a fresh fish restaurant. Not so much anymore. Truly sad. We ordered the Calamari appetizer, listed as lightly breaded. Wow! This is about as bad as it gets. Only a few pieces of calamari. The rest was literally bits of breaded something, which tasted just like fried breading. It was not lightly breaded. It was heavily breaded, and set in a bed of sliced Peperoncinis - straight from the bottle. It was dreadful. The presentation was amateurish. My Halibut and Salmon kabob was not ok. First of all, there was way too little food for the price (~$17): just 1 skewer. The sides were coleslaw and steamed vegetables. The coleslaw was chopped, not sliced, but it had absolutely no flavor. Cabbage is a pretty robust vegetable, but this place killed the flavor completely. The steamed vegetables were just that - at least not overcooked, and not dressed up. The Salmon was ok, but the Halibut was completely dry - really dry. To cook both salmon, a fatty fish, and halibut, a delicate fish, on a skewer at the same time takes some skill. This skill does not exist at Cameron's. My wife's Scallop and Shrimp Kabob - again just 1 skewer (~$17) - was slightly better. The Scallops were watery, perhaps a sign of being frozen. Rice and steamed vegetables were ok. It could be that the entire meal came from Smart and Final (S&F). The skewers looked just a little too uniform, and the bland sides could easily have come from S&F. The extra dry halibut could have been a result of being frozen on a stick from S&F. To sum it up: the food was overpriced for what is on the plate, the quality was mediocre to poor, and the cooking especially was bad. And, S&F could have played a part in this lowly meal. The only decent thing about this place was that our server worked hard, was efficient, and friendly. We tipped her way above anything relating to the actual food. We will never go back again. In fact, it was so bad, that I might actually detour around Colorado Blvd just to avoid looking at the sign again. Cameron's proves that there will always be people of mediocre taste in Pasadena. But it also shows that there is a real market for a fresh seafood restaurant that is unpretentious but serious about quality - something Cameron's lacks. 40 miles from the ocean, and it may as well have been 4000 miles from the ocean.

their food presentation is lacking. they could use some 3rd party help with that. it seemed to me that this is an older (senior citizen) crowd. they like what they like and don't care about how it looks. the seared ahi was also meh. wasn't very fresh tasting and was very small portioned. the austrailian something (white seabass) was tastier. but it seemed both were seasoned with the the same thing. not very creative. and for the prices they were charging, it really wasn't worth it. but our server was very good. that was the only plus. would not come here again.

I don't get this place...it came highly recommended and is always packed (granted, it caters to an "older" audience). The food and service were mediocre at best. Came here with a large party for my Dad's birthday and we were all disappointed (my "seared ahi" was cooked all the way through and dishes were very bland overall). I've had better at Long John's.

Seriously folks, save your money. There was nothing good here, except the bread and butter. Hubby and I went there on a Tues night -- service was just so-so for an almost empty restaurant. But the FOOD --- the tastes were lacking in every aspect -- from apps, entrees, to sides. Hubby ordered the salmon and he said it was the most horrible tasting salmon he's ever had. The sauce they served with the salmon just did not do the salmon any justice. Plain BAD. We definitely won't be back. 'Nuff said.

The food here is always good. I enjoy the Manhattan Chowder. It gets a little too expensive for my budget for dinner, but the lunch menu is well worth the price. I especially like the Mixed Grill skewers. They used to come with halibut, but have been changed to include salmon, which I suppose is a sign of rising food costs. Let me preface by admitting that I am not a fan of salmon in general unless it is as sushi or sashimi. However, I would eat the salmon in the mixed grill any day. It is literally the only cooked salmon that I have liked. I would love to know what is used to season it. The service has always been excellent when I have gone. I don't know what problems some of the other reviewers have had. This place has always been a solid win to me.

I ate here a few years back with my family when my kids were younger and just recently dropped back in for dinner after my eldest son's baseball game a few months ago. The staff was extraordinarily kid friendly and even exchanged, without charge, one of my son's meals which he did not like and that was perfectly fine. The food was amazing and having been born in Boston, I feel like somewhat of an expert on calm-chowder which Cameron's competes with the best back home. The seafood was fresh and cooked perfect over their grill. I find most restaurants out here tend to overcook their seafood. We ate at both Pasadena Fish Market and San Marino Seafood in the last year and they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to seafood. Their fish was dried out and the quality of their clams, oysters and lobster seemed to be inferior compared to Camerons. Camerons is now our go to place for a good seafood meal. At this last meal my wife had the swordfish steak which was grilled to perfection and was a good sized portion. I had the Alaskan king salmon which was flown in that day and tasted better than that farm raised stuff I think I had at the Pasadena Fish Market. As an appetizer my wife and I split a dozen oyster which were also fresh and clean tasting. There are few place I trust for oyster but Camerons is one of them. I highly recommend this place, especially for families but they still have a full bar and an amazing beer and wine section for the parents as well.

I've seen the praise (or at least ads) in LA Weekly for about a month, so we decided to try this place out. The service was OK - the girl was very friendly and two different guys stopped by the table to refill our drinks. Unfortunately the food wasn't very good, especially for the price. I liked my Oysters Rockefeller, but at $22 for the brunch it was a bad deal because the buffet was pretty bad. My wife had the fried catfish and said it was "decent", but she's had better in many places. My dad also got the Sunday brunch buffet, and the entree he chose was a piece of grilled salmon that came out undercooked. This place is definitely not worth a repeat visit.

We've lived in the area for years and had just not made out way over to Cameron's before now. Arrived at 5p on a Sunday evening, perfect timing. I'll say, up front, that we will try it again. We were seated immediately. Wait staff was excellent - very friendly, attentive, brought our water & bread immediately, very familiar with the menu and made suggestions. Our food arrived very quickly. The bread is good (very fresh), but cold (not even room temperature - like it had just come out of a refrigerator). The steamed vegetables (side dish) were very fresh, but room temperature - to cold. No big deal. Sauteed spinach was excellent. My husband's baked potato was very good-sized. His red snapper was a 4 out of 5 (good flavor, moist, but not very hot). My "Chilean White Sea Bass" was a mystery. My understanding (and it was confirmed by our server and a manager), is that it was Chilean Sea Bass. I don't know where the "white" comes in...sea bass is usually Chilean Sea Bass (not really a sea bass at all) or white sea bass or black sea bass or something, but not both (that I'm aware of). However, it did seem more like the local white seabass caught off the coast of California and Mexico. I'm a huge fan of Chilean Sea Bass - typically thick, succulent, fatty, sweet, almost impossible to overcook, have had it numerous times (when we feel like splurging, because it's always pricey) and thought that's what I had ordered ($30). However, this fish was thin (1/2"), tasteless, and juicy/dry, if that's possible. I'm sure it was fresh, but it had the "dry" quality of previously frozen both inside and out. It was not even as good as my husband's Red Snapper. I'm always reluctant to complain, but wondered if I had gotten the wrong piece of fish on my plate. I tasted it, then again, then again - hoping it would get better as I got toward the center of the first small piece (no luck). Then I had my husband try it, and he agreed that it was not at all like the Chilean Sea Bass we've enjoyed elsewhere in the past. We discussed it with our server (Steve - he was 100% awesome), and he sent a manager over. She assured me it was Chilean Sea Bass (after checking with the chef), apologized that I was disappointed, and we were offered a free dessert but that didn't really take the place of the sub-par Chilean Sea Bass. Their tartar sauce is very, very good, but it should not have to be used to make a $30 piece of fish palatable. The atmosphere was fine, lots of happy diners and lots of regulars. Like I said, we'll try it again some time but will probably stick with something other than sea bass...of any kind!

My husband and I went here on a date a few weeks ago because it's only a few blocks from our home. While the service was good, and the decor was cute, the food was nothing remarkable. I had the monkfish, which was fine, and comes with "drawn butter" which actually looks and tastes like the butter flavored oil that movie theatres squirt on your popcorn. Whatever it is, it's definitely NOT real butter, and it made my stomach hurt. Cameron's mussles are decent, though I've had better elsewhere, and their wine list is unremarkable. For the price (approx $120.00 + tip, which included a bucket of mussles, 2 monkfish entrees, a (cheap) bottle of wine, and 2 desserts), I honestly think we're better off going elsewhere next time we want seafood - I wasn't impressed.

I just re-read this review and what was i smoking? I sound like a mental patient; sceaming "old old old" for no appeant reason. Is the resturant old? Is it the food? What the hell? My intention was to say the people who dined at Cameron's were old. And I hate old people.

Our family has been going to Cameron's since they opened in 1984. It is a classic San Francisco style fish house, complete with the basket of sourdough bread. They have a great selection of fresh fish and a few non-fish items for the non-fish eaters. I often enjoy the fillet of sole grilled. I'm not sure it is exactly on the menu that way, but you can basically get any fish you want cooked however you want it. The menu is more of a suggestions list. Check the board of fresh fish, and pick your cooking preference. You get your choice of sides, and the au gratin potatoes and cole slaw are excellent, so good that I don't bother with any others. I like my fish well done which makes some chefs irritable, but at Cameron's I get the fish fixed exactly the way I want. I also like less oil used, and they are happy to accommodate. This is an old style seafood place. It reminds me of the Crab Cooker in Newport Beach or Tadishes in San Francisco (although no place is quite as good as Tadishes). I think you have to come expecting this style, and have some appreciation for the historic decor and the basic menu. I don't think there is any one item that is unusual and brilliant, but overall the selection is excellent, the quality of the fish is excellent and the atmosphere is exactly what it promises to be. Also, for a seafood restaurant of this quality, the prices are very reasonable. And the bread is good if you like sourdough bread. Sourdough bread is a bit chewy, and at Cameron's it is very much in the San Francisco style. Note: There seems to be some trouble maker pretending to be from Cameron's Restaurant sending rude notes to negative reviewers. I would definitely take any claimed affiliation to Cameron's with a grain of salt. The business has been family owned by the Gallanis family for 23 years and based on years as a patron, they have always done a very classy job running their business. I guess that is the risk of the internet - some disgruntled former employee, competitor, or thoughtless troublemaker can attempt to devalue the repetition of a classy place so easily. Rumors are fun, but skepticism is healthy.

I ordered the crab salad and the crab was rubbery. I told the waitress this and she came back and offered up a free dessert. Not once did a Manager approach the table to speak to me. The waitress just kept apologizing. This is the last time I go to this restaurant. Customer service in management is important to me and they failed miserably here.

NOTE: As a result of my 2-star review of Cameron's, I received a very discourteous response from "Pete G" of Cameron's similar to the one that Johnny G. and Yelpers that gave Cameron's poor ratings. I've readjusted the rating to a 1-star review due to the tone, lack of professionalism and poor customer service of Cameron's employees. When I gave the 2-star rating, I qualified it as directly related to the handling of a reservation that was accepted by Cameron's in January and then canceled 3-days prior to my group's reservation. I've passed along this information to my group so they will know how Cameron's does business......... * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The 1-star rating is for the major snafu where I had made a Easter Sunday brunch reservation for several people in January and didn't find out until 2-3 days prior that Cameron's was closed for Easter Sunday. I called Cameron's 3-4 times after the reservation was made to follow-up. If it had not been for one of the people in my party that gave me the heads up, I would've been very embarrassed to have several hungry people show up at a closed restaurant. I talked to the manager and one other employee on the phone who apologized for the mistake and had offered to make some calls on my group's behalf to secure a similar restaurant for my group for Easter Sunday brunch somewhere in Glendale. I called back and attempted to enlist their help in finding an alternative and was told by an employee that they had to check with another employee to see what could be done. I don't think Cameron's was sincere in their efforts to make things right. So, I called several restaurants and was able to find another restaurant able to accommodate our brunch party. Cameron's said that "they'd take care" of us if we chose to come back at a later date. I don't think the group will be up for it, unless the restaurant is willing to comp us.

I went to Cameron's last Friday thinking I'd be a good Catholic girl and have a meat-free meal. God must have been punishing me for something because Cameron's served one of the worst lunches I've ever eaten. The bread basket was filled with cold, hard sourdough. I ordered fish and chips, but apparently, this is a middle school cafeteria, because I was served fish sticks. FISH. STICKS. At a fucking seafood restaurant. The breading was like a sleeve of panko-coated nastiness over the flavorless fish. The chips were okay, though greasy. On the plus side, there's lots of free parking, the decor is nice (hardwood floors, nautical theme), and they serve Diet Coke. Other than that, this was an abomination to my stomach. * * * * * UPDATE: March 18, 2008 Someone who is affiliated with the restaurant sent me a nasty little PM due to my original two-star review. So I'm downgrading, because that is totally douchebaggy. And also anyone who thinks fish and chips and FISH STICKS and chips are the same thing should not be working in the restaurant industry. "Your message is as repulsive as your picture, maybe you should try and visit the rest of all the seafood restaurants in the nation you moron, fish and chips are fish sticks with fries, but i dont think thats the problem i think its you. do not come back george" Thanks, "Pete G." ( yelp.com/user_details?us… ) - FOR PROVING YOUR PLACE SUCKS. Have a nice day!

My husband and I made a return visit today, motivated by my taste raw oysters. Last time I visited I did not mention that I was disappointed that the oysters were not served with a mignonette sauce as an option. Only horseradish and cocktail sauce. I figured I was being too picky for the venue. Today, as my husband was with me, we expanded our selections. Oyster's again, of course, and Fish & Chips and Fried Clams. A trip down memory lane. Again, the oysters were OK. The Fish & Chips and Fried Clams, not so much. The Beer Battered Fish was tough, not flaky. The Chips rather tepid. The Fried Clams over battered. Overall a mediocre experience. The service we received was prompt and polite. I took the opportunity to take a look at the "fish market" portion of the restaurant on my way out. The case was meagerly stocked with perhaps a half dozen or less options displayed. I know Cameron's has been in Pasadena a long time. Perhaps it is just gotten weary.

I used to work at a fish restaurant. So I find myself tracking down fish restaurants wherever I go, which explains why I went to this place despite the low ratings. While I am sensitive the difficulties of hawking fish -- short shelf life -- this place totally sucks. For one thing, the prices are way too high. The fried seafood is pretty much indistinguishable from the kind that you would get at Hometown Buffet or Big Boy. The sauteed fish that my wife ordered was fresh enough, but completely overpriced for what it was. She ordered the sole. The sides are actually gross and inedible. Poorly boiled vegetables. Overcooked rice. Overcooked potatoes smothered in cheese with the vain hope of rescuing them. Moreover, the prices on the menu is really poorly thought out. For instance, my wife and I ordered beer. She ordered a Bass in a bottle. I ordered an Anchor Steam on tap. Her beer came an it was an oversized bottle which was over a pint. My beer came in one of those smallish 12 oz. mugs even though it was one of their tap offerings, and the beers were the same price!! But as we all know tap beer is significantly less expensive for them to sell than bottled beer. So do stay away. Its really not that my wife and I don't mind spending a ton of money eating out. We do so regularly. It's just that this place is really not at all what it tries to represent itself as. Strangely, there were actually a few other people while we were there (Fri. night). Though it seems to be big with the country folk and retirees mostly.

It was late. B and I were hungry and cranky. Fish King was closed. Cameron's is practically down the street. Cameron's is a' ight. Family restaurant. Nautical dcor. It's really big (and nearly empty on about 9pm on a Sunday) and parking is abundant. I ordered the Atlantic salmon with rice and garlic potatoes. (Yeah, serious carb load, right?). It was pretty good, actually. In fact, the salmon was better than I'd had at a certain Santa Monica restaurant that Yelpers rave about. Juicy, flavorful, tender. I probably should have skipped the garlic mashed potatoes and gotten the veggies, though. The service is good. The restaurant is clean. Be forewarned-don't let the backlot nautical dcor fool you, this isn't a cheap (price) restaurant. Nearly $70 for two people. And if you write a bad review Pete G. just might send you a nasty-gram. Uncool, Pete G., uncool.

Not too much to say about this place. Its got the regular cheesy seafood decor, nice waiters, and average food. The only reason I go there is for the fish tacos. I normally hate grilled fish tacos, but these are SOOO BOMBBBYYY. They are grilled just right so that they dont taste too fishy and they have a tasty light butter sauce unlike most places that just put chipotle sauce or sour cream. Try the fish tacos. The End =)

Last time I came here was probably somewhere back in '05 and I remember I got a whole crab and thought it was really amazing. Well I came here last night for dinner and it exceeded my expectations again. This is just a really great place to go to for some good quality seafood. They have a wide variety of seafood choices. They even have a small steak selection which is great and they have a great beer selection as well. Their Firestone Walker Honey Blond is really good, also the Alaskan Amber and Pyramid Hefeweizen of course. I've never really had oysters before so I tried the oyster shooter with the horseradish and cocktail sauce. Delicious! I love that five second kick it gives you. And the shrimp cocktail is amazing. Super fresh and huge. But the seafood sampler was the kicker. Huge and full of an array of different seafood combos. There was so much we had to take it home. And the waitress was really nice as well. Overall a great place and I will probably come back here for lunch soon.

After 3 years of not eating at Cameron's (mainly because of picky kids) I decided to return for dinner and also for take out. Both times I was disappointed, mainly with the take out. Prices have gone up and quality down. I ordered fish and chips for $18 and got something that looked out of a box from the supermarket frozen food section. It wasn't the usual beer battered fish. As well, the fries were sub-par. Camerons used to serve some outstanding steak fries, now they serve something like the generic brand from Smart & Final :-(

Some very good and fresh seafood and stiff drinks to boot! I have never used the fish market when you first come in but it always smells great and looks fresher than anything. The fish I enjoyed in the restaurant is flown in daily and the shrimp especially are more than tasty. Crab cakes are nothing to write home about, opt for the shrimp cocktail or oysters for an appetizer. Fish tacos here are also fantastic. Its a great local fish place with a lively 40+ bar scene and a lot of regulars who come here for a reason. Most people have said 3 stars - theres no way anything revolving fish here is less than 4 stars. That being said, the steak I once had here was not very good but the selection of fish definitely makes up for it.

Good food at OK price Spacious parking lot that stretched behind the restaurant. Inside bare wood tables with old fisherman black and white photos on the walls. Very good crab cakes ($13 for two) Correctly cooked shrimp and scallops ($17) and perfect salmon ($20). The main courses came with two sides included. It felt like the original version of Red Lobster. Separate bar area which seemed lively but the restaurant was a little empty. Service was prompt and food arrived fast. Will go back!

My husband and I had dinner at camerons for the first time last night and everything was quite good. The service was good, the food was good, and the décor was very cool. The sourdough bread they brought out to the table in a basket was very fresh and soft. After eating 3 slices myself I had to push it away so I would stop. I had a halibut steak with fresh steamed veggies and cheese potatoes,( I think they're called augratin) which were so yummy I ordered an extra side to go and I am eating them right now. My husband got one of the specials that night, sirloin steak with pepper corn and jack daniels sauce which he loved and I tried it too and it was amazing. We don't go out to eat all the time, but about two times a week. Camerons has definitely made it on to our list. We will be going back.

I was craving Oysters Rockefeller on New Years Day...coming back from Laguna...tried to go to The Fish Market in Seal Beach but it was closed! FREAKS! soooooooo we made our way back home .. and went to Cameron's... Ordered the Oysters Rockefeller and it was .....nothing to write home about. With minimal effort it could have been better...the Chef seems consumed with using Panko...(breading) It actually appeared as a description...panko shrimp,. panko scallops, panko blah blah blah. Now panko is a Japanese type of breadcrumb...wow..how exciting ! Okay..so we had the fish tacos and they too were nothing special...the wine we washed it all down with was the best thing we had. Our server...hrmmm he was a bit odd...we did not communicate much during the meal, just ordered our food...so at the end of the night when he brought back our check, he actually shook our hands and said it was nice meeting us. He did not know our names, so how did he meet us? Maybe I am just being a bit fussy...but I think this is a bit odd....with a capital O.

After my first review of Cameron's where I gave them a 2 star, I received a note from the owner. He was eager to address my concerns and make it right. The application of an automatic 18% tip (I thought it was 20% but didn't do actual calculations) is not in line with policy and should not have been assessed. He had a staff meeting and made sure that his staff will not do that again. He also changed the policy regarding refills on kids drinks because of my feedback. I'm impressed at his responsiveness and because of this will go back and give them another shot!

i dont know WHAT changed from the first time i had been here to now. Cameron, seriously?!? i was totally looking forward to your oysters. i dont consider myself an oyster connoisseur, but i've had my share from east to west coast. and i'll be damned if your's don't take the cake for the worst i've ever tasted. FOR REALS! i had better oysters in big bear. BIG BEAR!! on a MOUNTAIN, Cameron. a mountain. i had better oysters ON. A. MOUNTAIN. that's embarrassing. one star for service, one for those great rabbit-poop size ice cubes. they're a fav!

Since Alexandra B. brought it up, I also got a few emails from "Andrew T." after I posted my last review of Cameron's. His comments didn't escalate to complete character assassination; he basically told me that I was a follower and that it is "obvious you base your reviews on the opinions of others and not your own". Keep it up, "Andrew T." and Cameron's will lose even more customers. If I didn't know any better I'd think he was hired by a competitor to take Cameron's down. Sheesh!

This place is ok. It's a little different than other things off this strip because there as a DELI? and this set up was more of a old school bar. Don't know if that makes sense but really nothing out of the ordinary. The food was pretty good. We had the sampler and that was passable, not good but not bad. I had the Dungeons Crab Salad with the house sauce. This was soooooo filling. It had sooooo much Crab. There seemed to be more crab than the salad itself. No Joke... It was pretty inane. My lasting impression was that the service was pretty good and that my CRAB came with my salad.

When I first moved here I went to Cameron's a great deal. The food and the quality of the fish and the service was top notch back then. 14 years later, I don't visit the restaurant that often, mostly because the prices have gone up and because I tend to cook my own fish at home. The feel of the restaurant is great because of the nautical theme, and I always loved eating the seafood and broccoli stuffed potato. Parking is never a problem. I will visit it again, mostly because of its central location in Pasadena and certain menu items that still taste great.

I ate there a few weeks ago and before that, several years ago. I remember the food being better before. I forgot what I ordered but do not recall it being that good. I remeber thinking that it was on the bland side and not too far from being cafeteria food.

Love, Love, Love Cameron's. I have been going to Cameron's in one capacity or another since I was a kid; for the past 20 years. It continues to be one of my favorite restaurants. Cameron's will not dazzle you with elegant furnishings or overly creative dishes. However, what Cameron's does do, they do extremely well. The Oysters Rockefeller are to die for, the calamari is never chewy and the fish is cooked to perfection. to be honest I get the swordfish steak 90% of the time and venture to salmon or halibut once in a while so I have no opinion of the shellfish dishes. The sides are great, Au Gratin potatoes and garlic smashed potatoes are well worth the carbs. Long story short, do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Was loloking to grab a late seafood dinner before hitting a few bars on Colorado. Walked in to Cameron's at 21:45. They close at 22:00. I told my friend I'm pretty sure they're gonna be ready to clean up on this Saturday night. We asked if it wasw cool to get a late dinner and they welcomed us in with open arms! Service was very professional. We had some fresh oysters, parmesan crusted sole, and seafood grill (assorted grilled seafood). Clam chowder was good, oysters were fresh, parmesan crusted sole was really good, steamed veggies were just right and not over cooked, and the baked potatoe was also just right. The only two things that weren't great was my soda was flat and the sourdough bread could've been better. It was a cool place to eat by the bar, watch ESPN, receive great customer service, and enjoy some good seafood. The last plus for this place is that it's pretty reasonably priced for seafood.

Not bad at all for a seafood restaurant. Oysters were cool, tart and slippery they way they should be. Halibut and mahi mahi were both also well made by the cook. And yes, those cheese mashed potatoes are to die for! Yum! Going to try the scallops next!

I went here with my daughter to celebrate a new job, and well, my new job sucks as much as Cameron's seafood did. To me, and I know I am probably alone in this fetish, the appetizers are almost as (if not as) important as the meal itself. I loooooooove bread (as anyone who has read even one of my previous reviews will probably figure out), and the bread that we were given before our meal just downright SUCKED. I like bread that is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside (I can't even talk about bread without getting goosebumps, geez), but their bread had me chewing. And chewing. And chewing. For DAYS. I could barely separate the pieces from each other without bumping my elbow into the back of the seat from the sheer force it required. RE: the actual meal. Portions were skimpy and bland tasting. Nothing special.

I was greatly impressed with the owner's response to my daughter, Jennifer G's negative review. He was right when he said we should have asked to speak to the manager if we were unhappy about our experience dining at Cameron's -- that he would have tried to make us a satisfied client. It appears to me that Cameron's owner is proud of his restaurant and wants us to enjoy every aspect of it. As I said in my previous review, food is good and I'm with Jen... we're happy to plan another outing to Cameron's!

I love the cheesy decor & the fish tanks! This place is a classic! Nothing too fancy, but they do serve some good fish. The menu is huge! I had the shrimp skewers, they do a nice clean rice & also serve it with sliced tomatoes. I try and stay away from fried food, but I do sample it here & there. I can't remember what everyone else ordered, but our meal was fantastic. They have a fun kitchen counter where you can watch the guys work. We went for lunch. Most of my reviews are lunch. Cameron's has a great bar & they mix up some refreshing exotic drinks. This is a nice family place. I'd love to go back.

I love seafood and this place is close to my house, so I was extremely excited to try it out. After giving Cameron's two visits, I am not that impressed. Both times, I've been at peak dinner hours and haven't had to wait for a table, so if you're extremely hungry (or impatient) that is a plus. The service is also good, the servers are pleasant and quick. Cameron's has a wide range of dishes available and the clam chowder is not to be missed, it's excellent. However, I've had problems with under seasoning on both of my visits, most notably with the fried catfish. I recognize that this isn't exactly a soul food restaurant, but the batter tasted like dry breadcrumbs only - nothing else. I probably wouldn't go to Cameron's again, unless it's just for a quick clam chowder lunch.

OMG!!! If you love seafood then this is the place. Its a bit pricey but well worth it. I ordered the steamed crab and it was great! The waitress had warned me that I better be hungry. I wasn't prepared for all that food. I had to take some home. I got to taste some of the fish also. It was cooked to perfection. The sides were so-so but thats not the point of the meal anyway. The seafood was the star of the meal.

Driving down Colorado blvd after a cortisone shot to my foot, I was feeling starved so my husband and I stopped in for lunch and drinks at Camerons. Deja vu. We had a wonderful time 10 years ago and it was still the same good vibes with excellent fast service. I had the seared tuna salad, very fresh! My husband and I devoured the oysters Rockefeller easily. He enjoyed the seared ahi tuna with Au gratin potatoes which he commented were very good. After lunch we had truffles with port wine. All in all, a wonderful time.

I've have never eaten here despite passing it on Colorado Blvd for years. We came here for dinner on the weekend. Menu has quite a large selection of seafood, which was impressive. Staff were pretty polite and the place inside is quite nicely decorated. When my dish came (Red Snapper filet), the portions were pretty tiny for what they charged. A decent experience, but really, nothing to write home to Mom about.

i've been to cameron's a few times. everytime i've been there i have always left satisfied. i always start with either the halibut civeche or calamari. with the entrees, i usually like to switch it up and try new things, especially since they came out with a new dinner specials menu. one that i really found impressive was the lobster encilladas....mmmm!!! the service there is always above par and i find the staff to be very warm and friendly people.

I have been at this restaurant several times for the past 10 years. Begining with the bread provided, sour dough, I think that they could do better by serving a healthier bread lin the whole wheat line. The prices have gone up considerably that it is not worth the money any more to eat there. My last experience was the Crab salad which leave a lot to be desired to confirm my disappointments..

Yummy fish tacos and fish & chips, both made with Halibut, not Cod or mystery fish like most places. They also have New England AND Manhattan clam chowder which was awesome since I prefer New England, but my best friend loves Manhattan.

My wife was looking for a seafood experience close to our hotel in Pasadena. I'll eat fish but I'm not a real fish fan. We chose Cameron's and unfortunately we were disappointed. My 10 year-old-daughter had the kid's fish and chips, my wife had the mixed seafood skewers and I had the Macadamia nut encrusted Alaskan halibut. The scallops on the skewer were excellent. The shrimp and whitefish skewers were average, with the last piece of fish "mushy and unpleasant" according to my wife. My daughter's fish and chips were standard kid's fare. We all had the same side orders - scalloped potatoes and coleslaw. The potatoes were good, the coleslaw forgettable. The bread was nothing special. My halibut was terrible. It was flat and flavorless, and the crust texture was gritty and also flavorless. I was reduced to using my daughter's tartar sauce to make the fish palatable. As I said I don't particularly like fish (I don't dislike it either) but I've fished for Alaskan Halibut myself and eaten it fresh so it's the one kind I can really tell fresh from not and this wasn't fresh. I've had supermarket halibut and it was not as good as fresh caught but I could tell it was halibut. At Cameron's I really wasn't sure what kind of fish I was eating. It was bad, Our meal came to $75 with no alcohol. The waitress never came back to refill our drinks and never inquired as to our food. Finally we were seated (without asking) in a raised seating area connected to and in full view of the bar, even though we had a minor with us. Due to our bad service, bad food and high price i'm afraid I can't recommend Cameron's.

I used to work in the area and Cameron's was one of my favourites - a bit pricey, but good. I like their clam chowder - tasty and not too salty, something my wife appreciates especially because she's not a fan of clam chowder. I had the New England style she had the Manhattan style and we tried each others and found them both very good. My wife had one of the fish dishes, I had a chicken and pasta dish with a herb and garlic oil sauce. Both of us enjoyed our meal, the waitress was very courteous and checked in occasionally to make sure we where fine.

My wife and I have been going to Cameron's for decades. We had our first date there. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there. It used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but over time we kind of just decided either it had changed or we had, and we stopped going. There aren't many seafood places in Pasadena, though, so a couple nights ago we decided to go back. Knowing that I hadn't really enjoyed my last few meals there I decided to get just a bread bowl with clam chowder and the calamari, which is one of the few things that we've really missed. My wife got scallops. The clam chowder was fine, good enough, but the calamari was seriously overcooked, little like what we remembered. My wife did like her scallops. And this experience illustrates my ambivalence about Cameron's. Nothing is really bad but nothing shines either, and the prices, while not unreasonable, are certainly not a bargain. Service was very good. We'll probably keep going once a year or so for nostalgia, but it's too bad that there aren't more seafood restaurants in Pasadena.

I brought my mom here from Minnesota, we both loved it! Great food, I had Salmon stuffed with Ricotta cheese and crab, and she had the Mixed Grill. I also brought my dad about a year ago and he had the same thing. The place is old school, but that is part of the charm of it, it reminded me of the Seafood places up in San Fransisco. The food is quality, and you can look over and see it being cooked in front of your face on their giant grill.

We had the crabcakes for starters which were typical but good. I had the shrimp and scallops kabobs, they were good to. The sides they offer weren't to off the chart. I chose the potato and veggies. Both were good but I wish the selection was bigger. Their wine/beer/mixed drink selection was good. The best part of this was our waiter. He was great! His name is Steve and he was on the ball the entire time. He was very attentive, brought us things before we even asked for them and was very kind. We'll go back for sure :) Due to the prices though, we'll only go there occasionally.

Seafood is tricky. When it's ready, it's ready. Overcooking and under-cooking hang on a thread, but our party of five unanimously agreed that our fish was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their meals. I had almond crusted trout filet with a mustard sauce. Three of our party had variations of halibut (one plain, one macadamia-nut crusted, as I recall) and all were happy. The person who had the Chilean Sea Bass said it was the best he's had, and he's the connoisseur of the bunch. We were so busy talking that we didn't notice whether the service was slow or not. I did notice that the waitress didn't charge us for 3 sodas and a beer - then she came back with a complimentary piece of carrot cake, on the house. I wanted to pay but got "shushed". I will definitely go back. We all liked the ambiance, the typically American seafood restaurant interior may be bordering on hokey but it works. It is warm and conducive to conversation.

I'm not a big seafood fan, but I really like Cameron's. Their salmon is excellent. I've also had the Alaskan halibut, the Hawaiian Ahi, the Ono, and Opah. They have an oyster bar, but I don't eat shellfish, so I can't comment on that. They have very good service. The servers are always courteous and prompt. I've never had to wait to be seated, even on a Friday or Saturday night. Sometimes the parking lot will fill up, but still no wait for seating. Kind of pricey, but I recommend you try it at least once and judge for yourself.

We loooove Camerons! If you're looking for a Red Lobster-ish type of place, keep driving. I once went to Camerons for lunch and paid $8.99 for a WHOLE dungeness crab with garlic mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. A similar meal at, say, Crustaceans in Bev Hills would cost $45. Actually, Crustacean's doesn't even give you the whole lobster or crab. Their's is more decoration than food. Anyway, Cameron's wait staff is great and their food is phenomenal. But what's even better is, you won't have to deal with long wait times to be seated because it's not a commercial spot on a restaurant row. One time we even saw Rob Scneider there with his wife and mother. Not that Rob has great taste buds, lol. Just saying.

Aside from the not so great decor, its ok for just for food. No frill, no romantic setting, and just plain. The bread is a old dried half loaf of sourdough, the fish is really no frills, the service however is pretty good. Pretty attentive and very friendly.

Pretty good seafood place to go w/out a reservation. The decor is a little cheezy, but comfortable. I like thier Mahi Mahi and the sides are all pretty good. Lvoe the cheese potatoes. Not the best seafood restaurant ever, but a good place for a group lunch or when you have a craving for some fish.

PREFACE: I am allergic to seafood (waaaaah! Bummer, I love it! ) but was hosting some relatives for the first time and Cameron's was recommended. Good choice overall, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Just because I don't order seafood in a seafood restaurant don't assume I am a cretin. One of my first jobs at 15 was in a seafood market in a marina. Great job, learned loads about fresh fish, and was tortured that I couldn't eat much of it. It was my first time although I've lived in Pas for years, so I checked their dinner menu online. Looks pretty durned good, even had a few dishes without fish or meat, great if you have a veghead in the party. However, their online menu is a little different from their in-house menu and when I mentioned it to the waitress she said they didn't have a website. Huh? I had asked to order the baked potato with steamed broccoli and cheese sauce and she said "We don't have a website. We do have baked potatoes, but not what you're describing." After saying she'd check with other employees about a supposed website, it was never mentioned again, and she never made eye contact with me after that. No big deal I guess since I wasn't hosting/paying and my opinion didn't count. Or at least she *thought* I wasn't paying... Funny how some people automatically assume the male pays. I waitressed for more years than I care to remember and I am the first to tell you that wait staff should never assume they know who the host of the meal is. Also, oft times the least likely looking people will leave the biggest tips. All people should be treated well. Now on this I am a wee bit paranoid of late as it ties into my appearance which does determine how people treat others. I have recently gained a lot of weight, and have a tooth missing where I had pulled in preparation for adult braces (yaaay!) next week. I smile a lot. So lovely, I know. And I forget that I look pretty much like I should be parked on a front porch of a trailer (no offense) next to a broken washing machine and several cars in various stages of decay in my "front lawn". *sigh* So I am sometimes perceived as less intelligent/financially solvent/kind and have less feelings than the average person. For those of you who talk about customers and assume others can't hear you.... Pardon my rant on service people. On a lighter note: the "busboy", not sure what they're called now in this pc world, was very attentive and nice. Preferred him to the waitress, she was adequate , but that thing about not bothering to check and get back to me really bugged me. Don't people have to know about the places that pay them to work and represent them? Bread that comes before meal: CRAP. Really. It was store bought, presliced rye? The bread plates were warm, the bread was cold and stiff, the butter pats in the foil wrappers were melty gross. $15 burger - pricy, but very tasty. Seafood, overpriced no matter how you order, but the peeps ate it. One liked it, the other two said nothing, but ate it all. Parking: fantastic, but the place was extremely slow and there were very few cars anyway. We left at 9-ish, maybe the crowd comes later. Plenty of wait staff, I empathize with not enough business to make a good night's tips. Decor: I love it!! Vintage nautical, and very clean in the restaurant part. The ladies restroom on the other hand; for god's sake fix the locks on the doors, make sure the toilets are flushed, and most importantly WIPE DOWN THE FREAKING STALL WALLS AND DOORS. Greasy fingerprints everywhere, I'm not exagerrating. The walls/door are black melamine and the greasy smears show up everywhere. It looks as though it hasn't been wiped in weeks. Turns my stomach thinking about it. Grab a paper towel before entering the stall. The rest of the room was clean, well lit, soap in the dispenser, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, good. CLEAN THE GREASY FINGER AND HAND SWIPES FROM THE STALLS. If it's not going to be done regularly, change the color so the *shudder* stuff doesn't show up. Just do periodic checks, how hard is that? I hear they have a Sunday Brunch, I'd like to check that out. The bar looked good and like it would be a popular place on the weekends. Not sure if I should tell you to check their website since the wait staff says there is none. Too bad, the online menu looks better than the in-house one.

If you really like fish, especially fish flown in, -- really, I mean any kind of fish you want, you can do worse, because Cameron's is very good at procuring fish. Unfortunately, Cameron's must be really tired after going to such lengths to get all that exotic fish, because they aren't really so good at preparing it. On my first visit, I had the Red Snapper. It was, well, just OK. I remember it being a little dry, and too lemony, and even a bit rubbery in spots. The sides didn't help: rice pilaf, also somewhat dry, and some kind of saltless vegetables. My wife had lobster. That was a more basic recipe, involving, I think, boiling, and it came out alright. The lobster itself was a very good one -- the procurement, again, is really good. But I'd heard many good reviews, so I came back, and decided, by way of experiment, to order the fish & chips. A mid-scale restaurant that affects a rustic 'shack' image ought to do these at least somewhat well. What came back was fish sticks. Not Gortons Mystery Fish (which I happen to like), but something like fish taquitos. I think they deep-fried a circle of bread and then stuffed rubbery baked fish into it. I think you could soak these in malt vinegar for a year, and they would stay crunchy. I am quite certain that the Restaurant Thick-Cut Fries came from a very cold HDPE bag printed with those words on them, and that they were once much, much colder than they were on my plate. Oddly, half the bottle of malt vinegar did nothing for them either. But Cameron's certainly isn't all bad, especially if you avoid the 'fish & chips'. On both of our visits, the service was fabulous -- our waitress the second time was really professional, and made things a pleasure overall. And it has a very big menu: I may simply have avoided the good spots. I don't want to dissuade anyone from trying it.

When I was a young yelper snapper, there was this thing called Prime Ticket, Lakers and Kings fans know what I'm talking about. One of those many cheaply made commercials was for Cameron's. I remember it well, because the voice-over guy was Trevor Denman, those who bet the ponies know who I'm talking about. Trevor Denman's voice is up there with Bob Miller, Vin Scully, and Chick Hearn...but I digress. So I finally went to this place years later, and have nothing bad to say about the place, and have gone back many times. Initially, I was expecting a dressy steakhouse type vibe, where old people go to graze. It's not that at all. It's very laid back, dinner jacket not required, and there's a kid's menu...I think. If I can sum up my experience with the food, I'd say "guilt-free". Wait, is that two words? When you hyphenate, that makes it one word, no? Whenever I eat fish, I feel like I'm on a diet, I wonder why that is....

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. First of all, we didn't know that there was a decent restaurant this far down Colorado Blvd. To be fair, the majority of the entrees range from $18 to $29. Of course, if you get the lobster, that will be more expensive. For appetizers, we ordered the oysters rockefellar and the plain oysters on ice. Both were pretty good. The oysters were medium size, not too small and not too big. If you don't know what oysters rockefellar is, it is oysters baked in their shell with spinach and cheese. So, if you're too scared to try the raw oysters, start out with this one. As for my entree, I ordered the baked pesto halibut. It was pretty good. Good flavor, and barely any oil left on the plate. They serve it with butter on the side, but I didn't use. The sides that it came with are asparagus and rice pilaf. Both were tasty. Other parties at my table tried the parmesan crusted halibut, crab louie salad, mixed seafood skewer (with cajun seasoning), seafood ciopino, and the sea bass. Out of all these dishes, there were only two doggy bags that went home. I loved all the sides because they were well seasoned. In addition to the rice pilaf, other people tried the au gratin potatoes, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. I tried them all, and I thoroughly enjoyed. Basically, this seafood restaurant is like most seafood markets. The majority of the menu is a list of different types of fish that you can get grilled. If you want more flavor, I would suggest to add the cajun seasoning for the additional $1.25. This place is very casual. If you want to watch a sports game, like the Lakers, then be sure to ask to be seated near the televisions. Overall, we will totally come back here. For a healthy seafood dinner at a decent price, go to Cameron's Seafood Market.

Gave this place two chances on two separate occasions, and it failed on both. Had baked Idaho picnic, was a potato with seafood and the sauce was horribly salty, as if someone spilled a bag of salt in it by accident. Our grilled orange roughy was overly thin resulting in a poorly cooked dry fish. The almond crusted trout was baked yet soaked in oil and grease. The best dish was the sautéed tilapia. Tender, cooked thoroughly and tasted fine even without the sauce. I actually feel that the Coco's down the street had much better fish dishes (salmon and baramundi) for half the price. The service was so so but considering there were only a couple other customers during dinner service, we would have expected slightly better attention. We informed the waitress about the idaho picnic problem and other restaurants would have addressed the issue better, so we were disappointed by the service also. The decor is aging and feels like your grandpa's restaurant. Might work for a certain type of customer, but not this one. Finally, the dishes average around $20+ or so and so the price is not good value, in fact it would be poor value at even $10 so I don't look forward to coming back, unless they revamp the whole restaurant.

I took a hiatus from this restaurant that I had been going to for years. I had to take a break because the prices were continually being raised for what I thought was not warranted. Although I loved the staff, after a while it just wasn't worth it. Recently, I gave it another chance. The Caesar Salad that I was once in awe of was wilted. The halibut fish tacos were not worth the hefty price. In this recession, who charges $15 for an appetizer? This once booming business was barely occupied on a Friday night, during Lent. I left Cameron's with the thought that there was not a reason to ever go back.

I love the halibut here always fresh, not to mention the Chilean Sea Bass as well is one of my favorites. The wine list is also pretty good, this place is great to bring a date or come with friends. Almost everything I've ordered here is very good. No complaints.

Very disappointed! My husband ordered the crab legs. The crab was a grayish, green color. I told him that it didn't look normal. He decided to try it anyway and after a few bites he asked the waitress for another one. The waitress said, that she would "clean it" for him instead of getting him another one. She came back and it still looked the same, it was just warmed up. We asked the waitress if it was frozen crabs and she said it was, but when we asked her before we ordered if the crab was fresh she said it was. He sent it back. What seafood restaurant gives you frozen seafood!?!?!?! I ordered the Garlic Shrimp Scampi and it didn't taste good either. I tried eating more of the shrimp to see if it would taste better and it didn't . My sides were mashed potatoes which were flavorless and kind of cold and had a crunchy layer, which made me think it was sitting out for a while. I also had the steamed vegetables, and they were also cold. We left really disappointed and hungry. We will not be going back. This is what the owner emailed me. This isn't how you try and win a customer back. Pete G. has sent you a message on Yelp: "Hi Mona Thanks for the horrible review. I specifically remember when you were here. Not only did you eat the entire meal, you rush to yelp to post this horrible unfair review. I am sorry that you feel the need to bash our facility publically, but its a shame yelp allows this sort of stuff. I think eventually these reviews will be wiped out. If you want something for free after you eat everything , then get a restaurant. Crab Legs are flash frozen to preserve the quality. They are from Alaska, and if you ever have had them before you should know this. Otherwise people must be telling you something else or serving something else. Our crab is purchased from Santa Monica Seafood, which is of the highest quality in Southern California. We stand behind our product and further mpore your review should be removed."

We had a great time here on Saturday for lunch. The waitstaff was very professional and courteous. The decor was what I like to see in a seafood restaurant: fish and fisherman-related, but a little more classy than usual with a relaxing air to it. The glass partitions between the booths are beautiful and I enjoyed looking at the stuffed fish and photos hung on the walls while we were waiting for our food. The booths were very comfortable. I think this place is worlds above San Marino Seafood in terms of selection, comfort and ambience. I think they serve about the same quality of fish. We were in a bit of a rush, but we told the waiter that only after we took about 10 min to figure out what we wanted and our lunch came out super fast! The Ahi steak was pretty good and there was a very large portion of it, but the steamed veggies and baked potato were totally amazing. I could tell everything was exceedingly fresh. My BF said his club sandwich was very, very good. We both thought everything was reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning to Cameron's Seafood.

We came here on two separate occasions, both because we were working in the area and wanted seafood. The decor is actually really nice. We parked on the back side the first time, and the building totally resembled a fish market more than a restaurant, so we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the interior was. There didn't seem to be much of a market though. This isn't really relevant, but both times we were here, there was an old couple who sat on the same side of the booth :D. Different couples, but it was cute to see two little old people sitting together like that :) The first time we were here we had the steamed clams and the crab cioppino. The sourdough bread they served might've tasted better warm, but the texture was fine, even though the taste could be improved. The steamed clams were quite good, we ordered it a second time when we came back. The cioppino was a hit and miss. Parts of it was good, like the marinara sauce, the shrimp, clams, scallops, but the white fish was fishy, the mussels didn't taste fresh, and the crab meat couldn't be removed from the shells. The garlic bread that came with the cioppino was delicious though. The second time we came, we got the clams again because they were really good the first time, but this time they were all so tiny! We also got the shrimp cocktail, which was super fishy (but I dipped it in the garlic broth that the clams were cooked in, which cooked the shrimp a bit and added flavor), and the oyster stew, which was disgusting! The stew itself tasted off, I'm not sure how to describe it, but it was very overwhelming. The oysters themselves didn't taste fresh at all; we had to send the dish back because it just wasn't edible. I hadn't even swallowed the oyster yet and already it was trying to come back up. We replaced it with the California roll, which wasn't too bad, but for some reason the crab meat was really creamy. I feel like the fried stuff might've tasted better, but we weren't in the mood for fried stuff.

There's seafood.. and then there's good seafood... This place, unfortunately has variety of seafood from the bottom of the barrel. BOTTOM OF THE BARREL. Eat here if ur the type who buys ur seafood in a frozen box, labeled with microwave instructions... But if ur like me, and the rest of us seafood lovers, steer clear, be warned... Their raw oysters were yellow and dry... It's like, there you go, food poisoning served on a plate. As for their fish, go ahead an have it, if u like chicken, because that is EXACTLY what the texture of the fish was like. Thumbs down. And if Yelp didnt force me to have to atleast give them one star, Id give them ZERO stars

Been coming here for awhile, the food has always been fresh and the service is great. I love that they cook the seafood on wood chips and the fact that they have a full bar is clutch. The Cameron Kabob and Clam Chowder are my favorites. Lunch is a really great value.

UPDATE: The owner is very pro-active and wrote me a nice email following this review, explaining all, in a way, and offering to try again on the kabob. I emailed him back, but the email wouldn't go through. Another star added for trying! It's not that I wasn't grateful for his offer, or even that I wouldn't ever go back. But I was not trying to scam a fish-kabob, just trying to give an honest review. _________________________________________________________________ Earlier review: We have been coming here for years, but usually I have been the one to do the convincing--even though we all love fish. Just generally feel shortchanged here lately. Here are two ways Cameron's has changed, at least in my opinion: the bread is worse (they now have skimpy sourdough slices instead of the nice hunky bread they had a few years back), and **the portions seem to be getting smaller,** at least with the swordfish kabob-with-pineapple-chunks that I usually order. There were two pieces of pineapple about the size of dice, and the fish pieces weren't much bigger. Maybe shrinking the portions is one way of keeping prices the same? I don't know. But I'm going to stop doing the convincing from now on, I'm afraid.

Ah geez! This place could be and should be 600% better. It really has the feel of one of those places that was top-notch like 10 years ago. Nothing stood out as horrific or disgusting; it's just that nothing was good. The service was low class. Decour relatively cheesy. Prices fairly expensive. Quality very poor. The clam chowder was really good and gives the place one extra star. I live nearby and I'll never go back.

Use to be one of my favorites. Quality of food has gone way down. There were 8 of us & the service was horrible!!! Will not be coming back anytime soon. If you gonna bring out soups, should they all not come out the same time?! Or wait, maybe in 5min intervals is the new way! Waitress needs to smile & when called over, seemed annoied. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I'm sure she didn't mind the tip since it was built in. She got lucky there, for she would have been lucky to get half of it! Now I know why it was not crowded. This place use to be jammed pack back in the days & it's not cheap for the poor quality of food we had!! So Sad :(

Not the best seafood i've had in a while... and not the worst... but I probably would venture elsewhere to dine on fish for the next time.. I was just trying to see if a local spot would shine... not this time..

Staying in pasadina and found this restaurant. It has a seafood market and restaurant. The fish is delivered to them daily and is very fresh. Nice wine selection by the glass..large wine glasses a plus. We tried the be clam chowder and dungeonese crab cakes.. The soup was thick and delish.......not good for weight watchers.....the appetizer crab cakes only ok..... I told them I didn't want my halibu well done.....and that's the way it was. Fresh veges were a delight.

Grabbed lunch here on the way to the Moby concert, we thought we'd have time to see a museum in Pasadena but it didn't work out. So we stop at Camerons. It's a large dated restaurant. They have a refrigerated fish display that really wasn't that impressive, very few fish inside. We ordered some oysters, one dozen mixed. They tasted fresh but I wasn't crazy for the cocktail sauce. Not really spicy or flavorful. Lee ordered the fish taco's, and they where huge. Angie ordered the ceviche, large portion but a little to sweet and tomato sauce. I like citrus on my ceviche. Marc had the wild salmon and said it was tasty. I ordered the greek salad, large portion nicely dressed. After a few beers all the food tasted good. Would I go back, no to many other places to try in Pasadena.

Great place if you are in the mood for seafood or a piece of fish. One thing I noticed about this place is that a lot of older people eat here all the time and you know older people are not going to eat garbage, The staff is absolutely excellent except for one idiot cook who's a full on f-ckin liar. I'm going to get his name and post it later so you can keep your distance from this work of art. I had to take away a star because of this dumb ass. All the other cooks, bartenders, host, and etc.; excellent. I highly suggest to set at the bar where the bartenders are on it like white on rice. I mean it really doesn't get any better. A couple of times my food came out cold or a little something was wrong. No questions asked, they handle it. Also if you are looking for a great cocktail, I rate this place a 10+++. Try it out if you are in the San Gabriel Valley, you can't go wrong.

We decided to try it despite the reviews. I should've listened. The food was just okay. My hubby had the seafood kabob and the fish was good but the scallops and shrimp didn't have much taste, and there was more fish and only two pieces each of shrimp & scallops. I had the tempura shrimp. Now it's not Japanese food tempura but it was okay. It's not a place that we would return to again.

  • Jacqueline A.

Still love Cameron's! I had dinner here last Friday night. I stumbled upon my new favorite appetizer, the shrimp tempura, and new favorite entree, the miso glazed salmon. The salmon comes with white rice and sauteed brussel sprouts and snap peas. I can't wait to go back and eat here again. Thanks for the great meal!

I love fresh fish, but i had the Halibut here and the fish felt and looked not so fresh. You can actually tell right away by looking at the fish meat texture inside and that means that they had just defrosted the fish recently, and unfortunately my Halibut did not feel so fresh. This place is not so bad. I do like their food in general, i just wish they do improve this little defect i found in the way they handle frozen food.

WHOAH! what happened? Cameron's used to be pretty much a count-on-me place. This week had dinner and EVERYTHING we had was so salty it was disgusting. BLAH! Had to send a couple dishes back. New chef? Geez: maybe s/he needs to start tasting before s/he plates!

This place has been the target of food "critics/snobs" because they expected fish to be some glorious event, where the waiters all played violins and folded the napkins for you. For that crowd...stay the hell out, this place isn't for you. I agree with Denny, too dramatic, there's other places to go if you expect a black tie event, this isn't it. I had the snapper and it was cooked well and a lot better than I thought it was going to be, not a fan of fish I usually come here for the shrimp. Recently awarded with the gift of Diabetes, I have to watch my portions and had enough for about 2 more meals after I was done. I've been going here for years, and rarely if ever had any issues with the food, or the service, I like to sit by the bar area because of the atmosphere, the seats over there are more "woodsy" for lack of a better term.

Beware!! In two words: Food Poisoning. Okay so maybe it happens every once in a while, but it shouldn't happen at all. At the least, when it does, takes the steps to prevent it from occurring again. Not so in my recent experience there. In short - ate there late on Friday - 1:00 am friend became violently ill. I called to report it to the restaurant the next afternoon and spoke with Pete - at the least I would expect some sort of apology or concern but what I got was absolute denial that it could have been caused from his restaurant. Maybe this friends is why word on the street is that Cameron's is no longer the place it once was. I'd suggest you avoid eating here. Safer at the Taco Bell. In all fairness though the server was fantastic. Suzie was great!

I'm giving this place 2.5 stars. I came here with a few friends who highly recommended this place. Maybe I was expecting a bit too much from their recommendations that I was seriously disappointed with the whole meal. CEVICHE: This is NOT really a ceviche, its more like fish salsa. Real ceviche uses citrus juices that marinates the fish, which "cooks" it by pickling it. Here, there was no citrus flavor used in marinating the fish besides the two wedges of lemon they provided for you to squeeze yourself. AND the fish was OVERCOOKED and super DRY. Fish in ceviche is suppose to taste raw but "cooked" by the marinating. It wouldn't have been as disappointing if they just called it fish salsa. FRIED CLAMS: This was more like eating fried batter. There was so much batter that you could barely taste the clams. They give two sauces: one is like a marinara sauce and one is like a tartar sauce. Neither sauce tasted flavorful. It just made the fried batter a bit better, but not really in terms of the clams. PESTO BAKED ORANGE ROUGHY: This was the best part of my meal, which redeemed it to a 2.5 stars. The fish was super tender and moist. The pesto provided just enough flavors to the fish but not too overpowering. There were mushrooms on top which added to the texture of each bite. The dish came with a side of rice as well. For the price they charge, this place is expensive for the quality and taste of the food. I definitely don't find myself returning voluntarily.

Fantastic service and great food. One of those places that's gets bad reviews from people looking for freebies. Case in point the review for one star from a guy going by (Hey U) who never ate there. Glad you haven't and please don't. The place is special because the staff and customers are nicer and apparently better people than you.

I have decided to update my review based on correspondence with the owner, Pete. After I posted my review, I received a few emails from Pete letting me know he disagreed with me and informed me that 95% of all restaurants use steam trays for their side dishes. He also proceeded to inform me that "restaurants do not need editorial from customers" and that "Yelp should remove reviews like mine". All because I expressed distaste for the amount of money that we spent to receive the food that we did. I attempted to offer constructive criticism and was rewarded with hilarious commentary that attacked my reviews in general and stopped just short of calling me names. I find it both funny and sad because I am the customer, and I can choose not to eat at a place who thinks customers should not mention when they have a bad experience. My review was not offensive, rude nor overly critical, despite the fact that we waited more than 40 minutes for our food and when it came, it was mostly lukewarm, overcooked and came from a steam tray, as admitted by the owner. Now why, you ask, did it take 40 minutes for our food to come out? It certainly wasn't freshly prepared. It also was not crowded. We waited a very long time to order and get our drinks as well. Essentially, the problem is that this owner does not care what customers think or want. I went into this establishment with an open mind and left with a wallet nearly $100 lighter and a bad taste in my mouth. If the owner wants to captain a sinking ship full of lukewarm, overcooked vegetables, that's fine. But I'm taking the nearest lifeboat somewhere else. To a place where my hundred bucks doesn't buy old food and pathetic excuses. Just because you've been doing the same old thing for decades doesn't mean it is good for your customers and your business. Carry on, Cameron's, keep doing what you are doing. I'll keep driving, walking, running past you and your old food. I wanted to like the closest restaurant to my house, one that I could walk to and get to know. Instead I was told by the owner that my opinion is invalid and unwelcome and that he effectively does not need our business. Your point is taken and duly noted. **** I just went back and revisited a bunch of reviews. Apparently, old Pete has been busy offending customers for some time. Want some good comedy? Go read the negative reviews, of which there are tons. Check out the "nasty grams" to quote a wise and hilarious yelper, old Pete dishes out. They are truly misguided and straight up mean. Wow.

I have to admit I love this place ...the Manhattan Clam Chowder, the Steam Clams, the Steamed Artichoke, the Spicy Bloody Mary, King Crab Legs, Orange Roughy, Parsley Potatoes, the Slaw, and even the Steamed Veggies are all so yummy. I think I've tried everything on this menu or close to it. Oh, I almost forgot about The SOURDOUGH Bread....they don't give you as much as they used to, but they do give you soft butter now...WooHoo - Those who know about the butter ha-ha!

To be completely transparent, I am going to start my review by saying that I know the owners of Cameron Seafood. Having said that, it is the reason that I am not giving 5 stars. I feel that that would seem bias. I have been out of state for several years and am recently back in California. On a recent visit to Cameron's, I was thrilled to find that nothing about the food had changed. I am an extremely picky seafood eater and it's one of the few restaurants that I trust to eat fish. If it's fishy tasting, I won't eat it! I love the New England clam chowder! It's delicious! I also highly recommend any of the skewers. The seasoning and the mesquite grilling are a wonderful flavor combinations. In all the years that I have eaten here, I have NEVER had a bad meal!

Underwhelmed! Will not return. I ordered the New York Strip steak and asked for it to be cooked medium well and it was presented as very pink. I then asked the waitress to cook it more; to the medium well i had requested. When it was returned to the table i noticed a large black hair on the side dish garnish and the steak was still very pink!!! The outside of the steak was blackened but the inside was still very pink! I lost my appetite after that and ended up eating an overly dry baked potato and some frozen steamed vegetables that night! Also when i ordered my drink i noticed black things floating in it. I returned this to the waitress and another returned with black things floating in it!!! Gross! I will not return to this restaurant as I question the food handling practices after my dining experience here.

I usually come here for their fish tacos. I always WANT to order something else, but can't seem to stray away from the fish tacos. They are amazzzzzing. Don't expect anything traditional about these .. they're not Baja, they're not Mexican ... they're just plain old good fish tacos. Freshly grilled fish atop large corn tortillas with the option of shredded cheddar cheese, onions and cilantro. Trust me, get it fully loaded. The green sauce that comes with it has great kick and is not mild in the least. The New England clam chowder here is also incredible. It's on the thicker side, so be prepared for a hearty soup. Perfect for those cold days when you want something warm and comforting in your belly. I dig the old school vibe of Cameron's. It's packed full of senior citizens having dinner, families celebrating birthdays and regulars docked at the bar watching whatever sporting event is on that evening. Service is a hit or miss, which is the only issue I have here. Other than that ... quality seafood with a great environment.

This place is great. Don't let the negative reviews fool you. The food is solid. It is not overpriced! I just stopped by a fresh fish market on my way home last night and paid $63.00 for less than 2 lbs of fish that I cooked at home. So I don't think it is too much to spend about $100 considering what you are getting. The servers were nice to me and the owner was like room temperature butter.

Cameron's is awesome. I do Chistmas parties here for staff and business lunches. Pete the owner is attentive and gives great customer service. I have been comning here 25 years. Fish is fresh daily. Try the ahi, Mahi, or yellowtail. I can't say enough about the server staff who s the same. No turnover period. Awesome food and culture.

My friend and I had the shrimp sampler which consisted of shrimp tempura, shrimp scampi, and bacon wrapped shrimp. It was alright, except the bacon tasted very dry to me.. but then again I don't really like bacon anyways. We also had the fish tacos. It was also very dry. The service was nice. But otherwise, I won't be coming back.

Cameron's is a large restaurant with multiple rooms and even a covered outdoor seating area. They can accommodate parties of small and large sizes. They have a parking lot and street parking is available. They have multiple host/hostesses, all were friendly. Our waitress was nice, too. Even though they're a seafood restaurant, I appreciate that they had a couple of veg*n items available: a vegetarian burger, a salad, and a marinara pasta. Wish there was more to choose from. This is an expensive restaurant. The veggie burger is $11. The dead fish cost between $15-$30.

A very good place to eat! I had Cameron's kabob with veggies & smashed potatoes, with a cup of clam chowder. The chowder was okay. The smashed potatoes were a bit dry. The kabob and fresh veggies were excellent. My man had the mahi mahi with rice and veggies. He cleaned his plate! Kind of pricey, but worth it because the fish was so fresh and cooked well. Service and atmosphere excellent! We'd definitely go back!

Being silly, I didn't check Yelp reviews for Cameron's before I came to dinner tonight (1/18/09) - I would've skipped it. I originally went to Cameron's about 10 years ago, I ordered some sort of shrimp plate (I was /sort of still am a huge shrimp fan) - and I remember it did not taste well at all. 10 years later, I was driving by and decided to try something other than the shrimp and let my wife try something as well - thinking maybe I was too picky 10 years ago. Well, I had the catfish and she had the dungeness crab - both came w/2 sides. Both of our sides were bad - bland. The crab was actually pretty good - though overpriced. The catfish "ok" - which i sort of expected after having the Ceviche appetizer - which was horrible. It's basically fish w/canned salsa. Maybe it's just my Peruvian in me - that ceviche should be spicy and tasty - not canned salsa. Anyways, 2 beers later and an unsatisfying dinner - $70. Maybe I'll go back in another 10 years.

I'd give Cameron's 3.5stars...After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant to dine here. Overall I enjoyed my food!!!! The place it's self has an older crowd, much older. Either that or it was senior hour. The bar looked happening, but I didn't spend any time to make much judgment for it. Calamari apptz was big and delicious, We had oysters and claims to to share with a party of 7 and it was perfect portions. I had the Dungenees Crab Louie salad, crab was delicious, but the lettuce was from a mixed bag of veggies, nothign special. Other dinners, fish and chips got a good ratiing along with the shrimp cocktails. Big in size!! Dessert, red velvet cake. Just ok. I'd still go back.....
