Located in Fairmont Center strip mall next to Starbucks. Only a few negatives, closed Wed, small store, so a group of 10 or more will be very tight, instead get takeout (at most a 15min wait even when ordering in store). They deliver within Pacifica/Daly City usually 20-30min from call in. owned by a nice old Chinese couple. I try to order in Chinese and they don't laugh at me, but actually encourage me to keep practicing. Menu is over 100 items, but most are repeat dishes over rice or noodles, not a lot of seafood choice, but understandable to keep costs down. Place is never really too busy. The egg rolls (2) are more of a fried springroll style nice and crunchy, not greasy and dipped in batter. I also am a fan of the fried oysters. Their radioactive orange duck sauce is a bit disgusting and has the texture of mucus, stick to the soy or make your own dipping sauce. The fried chicken is small but very tasty, also the spicy bean spare ribs are great with fried rice or noodle dish. The mushu pork is a fun but messy dish that allows you to make your own spring roll, but make sure you use a fork to drain as much liquid sauce before putting on the rice wrapper, or it you will be left with a soggy mess. I usually get delivery, so I didn't have a chance to try their sizzling hot plates. My standard order is 2 appetizers, and 3 dishes about $25 enough for 3 people to eat until full. Not the highest quality food in presentation and meat quality, but comfort cheaper food that will not disappoint.

I heard about this place from an old timer Chinese guy because we were griping about how a lot of the Chinese restaurant food has changed for the worse over the years. No one knows how to make tomato beef chow mein these days. He said Sam's is pretty decent so I had to try. Their TB chow mein is pretty decent. They don't crisp the noodles half way like I prefer but their sauce is pretty good. I also like the pork hash with salted fish so I tried theirs and it was pretty good too. Also had the diced melon soup which was good tasting but too salty. The melon was undercooked a bit as it traditionally is very soft but I actually prefer my veggies firm and crisp even in soup. We rounded out the meal with fish fillet with choy and it was ok, nothing to write home about. I will go back for the TBCM if I'm in the area and will try other items too. Small place to dine in so it seems they do lots of take-outs. Oh yeah, it's cheap, I mean inexpensive.

Greasy, but pretty darn tasty. Roo is right, the gourmet chicken is good, especially when paired with the pork fried rice. My bro was put off by how greasy it was, but he's a health nut, so take that for what its worth. lol.

Cheap, good and fast Chinese food. Not recommended for in-house dining, its very small, and you'll be waiting for your food for quite some time, but definitely a great place for takeout. We always get the General Chow's chicken and the Beef with Oyster sauce. It's super yummy and hits the spot. They also offer delivery for the surrounding area which is super convenient if you are lazy and in the mood for some comfort food.

I have been coming to this place all my life and the food is as good as it gets when you're craving for Chinese food. My family and I would eat here every now and then, but I usually go for take-out when I'm craving for their house special chow mein. The people there are very friendly and usually know their regulars, myself included, and the food is cheap. Sometimes I like to get the lemon chicken or the sweet and sour chicken. Also, their friend wontons are amazing! There isn't too much room in the restaurant, but I still like the service.

Once in a blue moon , I would like some greasy bad Chinese food in my system. I had the beef chow fun, and it didn't sit too well because it looked and taste like noodles soaked in lard. The only reason I give a star is because they deliver to my lazy ass at home!

  • Michael B.

I'd come here for the gourmet chicken to take out. I wouldn't come here for the service. They're just plain rude.

  • Calvin L.

We come here for a couple dishes so we don't know what else is good. The fried stuff tofu is very good as is the vermicelli with preserved vegetables and shredded pork in soup. It is real home style Chinese food. As mentioned in another review, they have salted fish which is very hard to find in a Chinese restaurant nowadays. They don't give you that much but still yum! I wonder if they have preserved bok choy???? We don't care about restaurant decors. But if you must know, it has the standard brown tables and almost nothing hanging on the walls. As mentioned in another review, it is a SMALL place. Very good for takeout. I really like that they seem to actually make your food after you order it instead of pulling it out of the refrigerator to reheat.

  • I LOVE ME SOME G.

I think management has changed because the last 3 times I've ordered there something was wrong. I've had to repeat myself multiple times and still my order is wrong. The food also tasted a little different, which leaves me to think that this place has changed owners and cooks. So sad...so sad. =( Gotta find a new place....any suggestions?

Great little place for some decent cheap chinese food. Their BBQ Pork fried rice is to die for. The best I have ever had. If you like sweet and sour chicken, I might suggest getting the Lemon Chicken (more chicken) and then dipping your chicken into the little container of sweet and sour sauce (you get that if you order Fried Prawns). The house special chow mein could use a little more meat and those crunchy bean sprouts. Love the Fried Prawns. Not a whole lot of room to sit so we order delivery. I give this a 4 stars, would of been 5, but the delivery driver we had once was late, and then still asked for a tip (when do people actually come back to the door for a tip?)

  • Nicole M.

I'm a fan because it's close and convenient. I'm not so much a fan of their mu shu chicken which is my favorite dish but I have to say that the gourmet chicken was indeed very tasty.

When we want good, cheap, Chinese Chinese (vs American Chinese) we go to Sam's. It's close and they deliver. There are only 4 tables and they must not have a heater so put on your down jacket if you plan to eat here. I usually order the fu ga (bitter melon) gnau nam (beef stew) over rice. When I compare the salt and pepper spareribs at other Chinese restaurants to Sam's nobody has beaten Sam's s&p spareribs yet. For a tasty vegetable dish try the hom ha ong choy (shrimp paste "straw" greens) when it's in season. They have an extensive menu and their chef's can cook anything you like if they have the ingredients. My wife loves their beef and eggs over rice. The noodles in their beef won ton chow mein has a good chewy consistency to them. Say hello to owners Ben (he should eat less of his own cooking) and Sandy (amiable and cute) when you go.

  • Christine J.

Went here a few years ago.First of all, we had to wait FOREVER for our food. While waiting, we saw the chef wipe his armpit with his fingers and then touch the food DIRECTLY with his fingers. Since then, i haven't gone back.

Quick place to grab takeout. Don't look past the counter through the kitchen-- trust me. Just wait for the yummy food to come out bagged in the togo boxes. They also deliver if you're close enough. My family usually orders from their catering menu. The large pans of Gourmet Chicken are always a hit at our parties. It's like battered fried chicken pieces with a sweet red chili sauce on the side.

  • Barbra C.

It's an okay decent Chinese restaurant, nothing spectacular but works for me for a quick Chinese take-out, but the my number 1 reason for liking this place is they deliver to where I live!!! That's exciting to me because ever since I've boycotted Ocean Palace in San Bruno, I've been looking for a new Chinese restaurant that would deliver in our area. However, I would probably never eat in because the place will somewhat make you lose your appetite...

  • Molly C.

this place has better than average "cheap chinese" food. the food is heavily loaded with MSG and will definitely give you an MSG buzz. the prices are reasonable and the food is really really tasty as long as you go in expecting super cheap and greasy chinese food.

    (4)
  • Lauren R.

Party tray of salted fish & chicken fried rice for 20 bucks - THE BEST POTLUCK!

solid. just remind them that you dont want msg, and youre all good

  • Rick V.

This is one of those "Old School" Chinese type places. I mean 60's San Francisco, Chinatown, Washington St. Old School. That's what I was reminded of when I first tasted their food. That kind of flavor, same kind of style, more Cantonese. It's more of a take out place, but there are a few tables for dining in, if you really need to. But I just keep the ph number on my cell, cause you just never know... They have this soup, (style that used to be called Yee-Foo Won Ton) called Hung-tao Yee Won Ton, made with fried won tons in a thick egg flower soup with chopped BBQ Pork, chicken and green onions, so hearty and filling, for less than $5. Other dishes average More, but are definitely worth it.

    (4)
  • Matt S.

The price is good but the food SUCKS... I had the BBQ Pork egg over rice and it was just unfrozen pork with an omelet... Go here if you like cheap food!

    (2)
  • Mike R.

Some of the items are good (the Egg Foo Young for one), some are barfy, many have tons of grease. be sure to ask for no MSG otherwise youll be chugging water all night and be all boated, LOL. Dont eat there, they always have the door open and its cold as hell! If youre stuck in Pacific, go here, otherwise hit up American Sushi house and say Hi to bruce for me!!

  • Krissy P.

Its just too much good chinese food in the bay area to eat here. The only positives are tha they deliver and they are inexpensive. I would rather pay the extra 20 bucks and get take out at Tams in pacifica.

    (2)
  • Dyl S.

JFK-Just For Kids-We tried this take out because we were tired of paying the high prices at Tams and saw the reviews on Yelp. I love chinese, but this was not very good. We had pork and chicken, and threw it out. The meat was too tough to chew and my mom thought we might get sick. Will never eat here again.

Alright so me n my bestie picked up some chinese here last fri. before hitting the bars. We drove by this place and he picked up a menu and being too lazy to wait or get back out the car. We called and ordered for delivery as we were driving away LMFAOOOOOOOO. We wanted to know how good their delivery service was hahahaha. SO, he ordered mongolian beef, lemon chicken, fried wontons, and fried rice. Food came literally no longer than 15min. later. So, I'd def. recommend delivery. The food was pretty good all but the mongolian beef; It was hella sour LOL. Made my bff take 2 shits! HAHAHAHAHA. If youre looking for cheap chinese and fast delivery, then check this place out.

I miss Sam! Sam was the original owner of this place and retired over five years ago. He sold this place to his nephew and now it is run by the nephew's sister. Sad to report that Sam passed away earlier this year, but glad to see that his cooking legacy lives on. Mr. Yee, the head chef at Sam's who was originally trained by Sam still works there today. Much to regular customers' delight, Sam's still serves up a mean gourmet chicken and mongolian beef! All of their fried rice and chow fun/chow mein dishes are consistent as well. Sam's is my go to place on a cold, foggy night when the craving of authentic Chinese food is in the air.

30 minutes they say....How about 15 minutes after i order I have my food in my condo ready to go in my stomach. Orange chicken and chicken friend rice are the best. the best. Ok so yeah the prices are cheap, they are fast but i recomend to go or delivery rather then trying to eat there. there isnt very much room

  • Brian Y.

4.5 I think the only reasons why this place wouldn't get a 5 is because for me it's too far away of a location for me to frequent and it's tiny. The food is good and cheap! Plus parking is not a problem. Had the tomato beef chow mein and it was yum. This place probably makes most of their business from to go orders, but managable to eat in if you have a party no larger than 4.

    (4)
  • Greg C.

I got the tip to come to this place from one of my co-workers that has been coming here for years. She wasn't lying. -The place is small -The food is good and plenty -The prices are low -lots of parking -fast service Any questions?

  • BYRON D.

This is one of my favorite hole-in-the-wall Chinese food joints. I come here for the spicy salt and pepper pork rib thingys. The chow-fun and fried chicken are heavenly! This place is better than any chain/fast food chinese food made by non-chinese people

    (4)
  • Chris R.

Great food and freindly service, although the take out service is a little slow. Had to wait over 30 minutes. Family owned in a very small space with limited seating.

    (4)
  • Glenn H.

This is kind of a hole-in-the wall place in the Fairmount shopping center. Although they have seating and tables it does NOT mean that this a place you would like to have a sit-down dinner in unless you are in a real hurry or have no other choice. There is no real decoration (not that you can't say they made a 1/2 hearted attempt) and the florescent lights are just too harsh. It really is a three person operation; One to cook, One to take the order (very efficient) and One to do the free delivery. They can easily get backed up as you can imagine. Thankfully, I was there before all the calls started pouring in so my in restaurant wait was less than 10 minutes. After all the calls came it it was more like 1/2 hour at least. Ordered three things as a sampler of this place: Singapore noodles, Sub Gum Chow Mein and Beef with broccoli. It was lots of food for only $17.00 and that take out bag was heavy! Overall the taste of the dishes was good but they were all a bit light on the meat. The beef was tender and but there was little "Sub Gum" in the Sub Gum chow mein which is usually packed with seafood, Char Siu and chicken. I'll try this one more time to make sure that this was just a fluke.

I ordered the much hyped Hong To Yee Wonton and beef chow fun, to go. I really want to love this place since it's much closer to me than Porridge King. Alas, it was just ok. I never ate the Hong To Wonton before, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I didn't think it was that great though. The broth was too thick. The beef chow fun was ok. I have to say that the portions are a tad smaller than typical Chinese restaurants that pack it to the brim. Given their prices though, it's fair. I'll definitely come back to try other dishes. I won't give up! Oh, staff is really friendly.

  • Daisy A.

My husband is one of the pickiest Chinese food eater and Sam's has passed his criteria! Their food is excellent. Prices are awesome (I can feed 3 people for less than $20). They have rice plates for the evening as well and their delivery service is extremely fast. It's a mom and pop joint which means they're really good at remembering you. The only downside is that they are closed on Wednesdays, but I guess we all need a break.

  • Tess E.

This is usually our go-to place for good and cheap chinese food. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so we always opt for take out. Even calling in your order ahead of time they usually have your order ready within 15-20 minutes. We like ordering their salt and pepper fish (or pork), fried rice, veggies and tofu, beef chow fun with gravy sauce, and on occassion their sweet and sour pork. I've also tried their won ton and hot and sour soups and those are tasty as well.

I have try a couple places in Pacifica for chinese food. I really like it here. The price is reasonable and it deliveries. Unlike Tam's Cuisine, its quite expensive, though the food is good but for the price I rather go to Sam. I have try the Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Honey Walnut Prawns, and all was good. I Just order 5 item and its only 36 dollars. Not bad at all!

This is one of those places that I don't want to Yelp because it would be akin to sharing the location of my secret fishing hole filled with 24 karat gold fish with diamond scales and platinum poops. I will say this much though: -tiny place with visible kitchen -make your order to your specifications -fast as hell service -big portions -delicious as a motherfu*k And in my case, a less than a 5 minute walk from home. We order the potstickers, vegetable chow fun and orange chicken on a regular basis. No amount of words will ever convey my feelings towards Sam's Chinese Kitchen. All we can do is throw more money at them in exchange for their kick ass food. I love Sam's!!!

just got an order of sweet and sour pork over rice but there was no sweet or sour and barley any pork. they should call this thing no flavor onions and green bell pepper with 2 pieces of god damn pork over rice....and to top it all of the pork was like hard ass beef jerky

Okay so don't ask me why, but for the past week I was CRAVING some greasy, unhealthy, delicious Chinese food. To this day, the past 3 years I've lived in the city, I haven't found one I really found dependable to ALWAYS have something tasty. Well I was at a friend's house in Pacifica, and I just couldn't take it anymore. I had my heart set on Chinese food, and I wouldn't stop bugging him til I got some. Suggestion? Sam's. It looked sort of sketchy and definitely not tastebud tantalizing from the outside, so I scrutinized the menu posted on the window. CHEAP prices, so hey. If I'm gonna spend my money on this sketchy looking restaurant, it had better be cheap just in case the food is terrible. I have my favorites dishes that have stuck with me since I was 4 years old. Sweet and Sour chicken, Chicken chow mein, and shrimp fried rice. The lady at the counter was very nice, and gave me a ten to fifteen minute time frame for my food. Food was cooked, took it back to my friend's house, and when opened, was STEAMING hot and smelled wonderful. I heaped healthy servings onto my plate, and as soon as I took a bite, I was in heaven. I have to say, although unhealthy and full of grease, this is some of the best darn chinese food I've had in a very long time. They are now my favorite place to go for my beloved sweet n sour, slightly crispy on the outside, full of tasty chicken goodness on the inside. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in the area, and hey! They even have free delivery for those times I'm just too lazy to drive around the corner.

Great selection, prices and flavor for a real small-time restaurant. I think there are only 2-3 tables, when one of 'em isn't being used for prepping some won tons or something! My brother-in-law grew up in Pacifica and frequented this place often. They have a pretty devoted customer-base - mostly take-out business but we've dined in a few times. Dining service isn't so great, but you can really appreciate the small-business vibe (one person taking orders, one person cooking and plating). I really like coming in here during baseball season cuz the owner always has his little t.v. on with sports on (I don't have to feel so bad goin' out to eat between innings, missing some quality SF Giants innings) *he does some serious channel-surfing between sports/games!

Stopped by to try the lunch specials with my girl - BBQ Pork & Egg over rice, Beef Broccoli, celery & tofu soup. Most of the rice plates are under $5. The BBQ dish was solid and the rice it came with hit the right balance between soft and sticky but the beef broccoli wasn't very good because the beef wasn't cooked enough and seemed like the portion was smaller than the other plate. The place itself is cozy with a small floor plan for dining and an open view of what's going on in the kitchen. The waiter/cashier/host was nice and the food was cooked quickly.

I'm so glad I finally found out about Sam's. The food is bomb and affordable, they deliver to Daly City, and the service is super quick. I tried it for the first time at a friend's house warming and was blown away by the scrambled egg over fried rice, which was their go-to dish. Sam's offers it with either pork or shrimp, both of which are yummy. I ordered a ton of food for delivery a couple weeks later, and my family loved it. No complaints here!

I ordered food today at 2:50pm: 1 Mongolian beef 2 house fried rice 2 eggplant Will never order again from this place...

  • Tina R.

The food is sooo greasy! The fried rice, chicken chow mein... It's like engulfing extra oil. The won tons in the won ton soup tasted like they weren't cooked all the way because of a doughy texture and taste. The fried calamari tho was the only thing I liked and it was really crispy! One great thing about this place is that the food is cheap and you get way more than what you paid for, but sooo not worth it taste-wise. Never coming here again. Sometimes I wonder why I have it a chance!

Solid, Solid, Solid Chinese food! Not a great place to dine in but for take out and delivery, Sams ROCKS! Love their fried oysters, hung tao yee won ton, chow fun noodles, bitter melon beef or chicken, et al! The people who work here are super nice and, guess what, they respect my NO MSG request. Sams, me love you long time!!!

I have to say, as a Chinese person I like them as people, I enjoyed chatting with them in Cantonese. As a customer, YUCK! I ordered something easy: broccoli beef. Sauce, if you can call it that, was thick, semi-transparent, and flavorless. Lay off the cornstarch please. The beef was cut with the grain, making it inedibly chewy so I had to spit most of it out. No thanks, I won't be back. :(

I have NEVER been treated this way as a patron before. Here's a detailed play-by-play: My mother and I ordered from here, thinking we'd give this place a go. We get home with it (silly us, we should have taste-tested in the restaurant) and it's absolutely nasty - both in flavor and in appearance (there's this thing called aesthetics). I took it back and said, "Hey, I'm sorry. I took this home and it was kind of nasty. I'd like a refund." She said, "But we can't resell it." I said, "I'm sorry, but that's not my fault." She said, "you take half?" I said, "No, I'm not taking half. I paid for ALL of it and ate NONE of it. I'm not taking half." She said, "you got coffee earlier, right?" (I had gone to get Starbucks while I was waiting for the food) I said, "yes." She said, "if you take sip and don't like, they give you your money back?" I said, "YES!" She said, "that's not true." I said, "yes it is. Want to walk over there and ask?" She said, "you ordered this food, yes?" I said, "yes," she said, "I cannot resell." I said, "if I get a loaf of bread from Walmart, open it, and don't like it, I can return it." She said, "this is not walmart. This is small business. No one else complains about our food. Ask anyone, everyone loves our food." I looked around and said, "but no one's here." All this dialogue and she keeps saying "you take half," and I kept saying, "no. I didn't eat half." She kept cutting me off with, "but" and I said, "no buts. I haven't eaten any of it." LONG STORY SHORT: I ended up getting threatened. Her brother or whatever said, "You take half or you get out." So I took my half and will never be returning in life.

Sam's Kitchen is a little hole in the wall Chinese restaurant between Starbuck's and Southland Nails at the Fairmont Shopping Mall in Pacifica has great food, service, and prices. Either eating there or take out I've always gotten excellent food.

This is the best Chinese Food spot in Pacifica. Always hits the spot. My faves is the broccoli beef over fried rice. Trust me in this one. The price is also reasonable.

This restaurant is very disappointing. We ordered from them and did take out. It was so awful that we didn't take more than a bite of 3 items before we decided this was just awful. The General Tso's chicken was 1/3 fried crumbs of bread and the sweet and sour chicken looked more like a dark brown mashed potato of sorts. It was really bad. My daughter took all of the food back to the restaurant within minutes of us getting it and requested a refund and was refused. They offered us 1/2 of our check back and threatened to kick her out. This was an awful experience and I do not recommend this place at all. I normally order from Rice N' Roll and that's where I will go back to.

This restaurant is a disgrace to all chinese restaurants. I went in there with my wife...she order walnut shrimp over fried rice and I had Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodles with Broccoli and beef. My wife's lunch actually tasted ok, blend but ok. They were really cheap with the CHA SIU/BBQ pork instead of giving you the meat, they cut up all the fat and just stirfried it together. All the red bits and pieces of the BBQ cha siu was basically all fat. My pan friend noodle was supposed to be crunchy...it was NOT crunchy and drenched in oil, so much I could pour it out. There was at least 1/2 cup of oil drained out. The beef tasted funny, and sauce again tasteless. IMMEDIATELY, after the meal, around an hour, we both suffered from a stomach pain which lead to diarrhea. The owner was rude, and really didnt give a shit. There was no interaction, no how was the food. No hi, no bye, no thank you. My guess is that this small restaurant which has only 4 tables, mainly does delivery for locals who have like no taste for food at all or just yelpers craving for new chinese place to try. which in this case was us. PRICES were GOOD, and decent, food was HORRIBLE. WILL NEVER COME BACK AGAIN. LOOKING FORWARD FOR THIS restaurant closing ASAP because its harming others health for gods sake.

This place is absolutely terrible! Unfortunately my mother and I ordered food here before looking at the reviews. Well DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE! We ordered potstickers, chicken chow mein, BBQ pork fried rice, and Mongolian beef. Pretty simple stuff, like really how can you screw them up? Well...they figured out how! The potstickers needed to be cooked longer. They were difficult to eat. The BBQ pork fried rice was actually really tasty until I found raw pieces of pork in the rice and it was soooo greasy! It was way too greasy! The chicken chow mein was no better. I didn't get a single piece of chicken. I got a tons of onions though! It was absolutely disgusting. The Mongolian beef was not cooked enough. And the sauce didn't taste right. It had a creamy sauce on it. The whole thing was gross. I will not come back here. I already have a stomach ache from what I ate. Do not order food from here! Save your money and don't make your body hate you.

a regular there and always satisfy. however May 2 was the big fight. I order the small tray of chicken wings expecting about five pounds. As I walk in to pick it up, he grabbed it and rushed it to me and I thought it was just good service. It felt light but I was in a hurry because of the fight. Anyway I got home and it didn't feel right (too light), inside was only about 2-3 pounds of wings and instead of a full tray, barely covered the bottom. I was too embarrass to bring this to a fight party so had to go buy something else . I know small places can only keep so much stock and cannot accept the many orders for that day, however if you accept the order and money you have to deliver. It is only 30 steps to Lucky and you could of bought more chicken wings. Better to make a little bit less profit than to rip off a regular customer.

Small restaurant with only a few tables. We always call our order in for pick up. So I'm guessing majority of their business is from phoned in orders for pick up and delivery. Yes they deliver. There is however a $15 minimums for delivery. The food is pretty good. We order the salt and pepper ribs (deep fried) every time. It's not the healthiest but it's so delish. Hong Kong style chow mein and the beef stew over white rice are really good. Food taste fresh and when I crave Chinese food (which i very rarely do) this is the place i go to.

  • Liz C.

I ordered delivery and it was prompt, but the food left much to be desired. Half of the items were drowning in gross sauce, there was very little (if any) meat in the predominantly meat-based dishes, but the biggest disappointment was the Wonton soup. I half wonder if they didn't wash the cleaning solution out of the pot before cooking! Oh, and the egg rolls never showed up. My quest for decent Chinese delivery on the peninsula continues onward, I will not be ordering from Sam's again.

  • Cheryl S.

The worst chinese food! I ordered Mongolian beef, beef chow fun and egg rolls so I can get it delivered since it a 15$ minimum. It came out to $20 and the Mongolian beef was all bamboo shoot and maybe 7 pcs of meat AND IT WAS LIKE A SOUP! When has there ever been bamboo shoot in Mongolian beef!? The egg rolls were so gross and the beef show fun was fine but bland. Idk how they think their food is good enough to feed ppl. WORST WORST WORST!!

I love the BBQ fried rice and chicken chow mein. These are the only dishes besides Mac n cheese my 3-year-old will eat consistently without question of the ingredients. The fried chicken wings are my guilty pleasure...yum. The owners is always really sweet and gives us extra fortune cookies when I pick up with my son. I actually prefer the food at Sam's to the places I tried in the Sunset! But hey, that is just me. 5 stars for service and 4.5 stars for this style of Chinese food within an affordable price range.

Fantastic American style Cantonese. This is what everyone on the East Coast thinks of as Chinese food. It's all so very good at an inexpensive price. We ordered wonton soup, a meat dish, veggie dish, fried rice, egg rolls, and 2 drinks for $31 and some change. You can eat in but it's a tad crowded. Get it to go. It was the dinner rush hour, so our wait time was 20 minutes. You can call ahead, but there's also plenty else to do in the shopping center to kill time. It's worth the wait.

This place is horrible , I paid 30 for 3 things in little baby containers . They pretty much jipped us .. The meat they use is horrible as well the beef tasted awful and the chicken was chewy and tasted like fish even my child refused to eat it and she's a chicken lover !! Were Never eating from this place again! Gross save your $$$ or find a different place ... I should of went with all the reviews on here. I thought people were being a little harsh but not anymore .

Fast, convenient comfort food. I always order the combo wonton and it is delicious. Also a fan of the eggplant in szechuan sauce.

That place is really bad. They don't even give us water and u have to ask by yrself. The dishes are tasteless at all and when you check out, they calculate the taxes by themselves.

My Go-to chinese food when craving hits and too lazy to yelp others. Affordable and good people are so nice too.

This is my default restaurant when I'm hungry, yet I have no idea where to go. It's not the best Chinese food you'll ever eat, but it's good. Most importantly, IT'S CHEAP AND FILLING. The rice plates, fried rice entrees and noodle dishes are all $5-$6. If you can though, have it delivered (minimum is $15) as there are only about 4 tables in this small restaurant. Plus, the door isn't the best so it never closes all the way. It's always cold inside (freezing during the winter)

Comfort food at it's finest. Whenever anyone in the family is sick we get our comfort on with the wor wonton soup. I'll be honest, it's not the best wonton soup, and I don't think I'll ever find one on the peninsula, but it does serve it's purpose.

Not impressed with Sam's at all. The food seemed to be all cooked in the same gravy/juice with an over abundance of water chestnuts and onions. We ordered 4 different items (Beef and Broccoli, Stir Fried Calamari, Kung Pao Chicken and Mixed Vegtables) and all tasted the same and the sauce completely drowned out any flavor. The General's Chicken looked thrown together and soggy too and the Vegetable Fried Rice was overcooked and lacking on any flavor. We will not be going there again as there are much better Chines Rests in the area.

Quick service! Love their chow fun with gravy, eggs, and prawns. MMMMMM. Just don't order the Mongolian beef, it's good..... if you find a piece. You have to search for meat in this bamboo shoot soup. Other than that, my go to for a quick fix of Chinese fast food!

The dry-style beef chow fun was salty but not bad if hangrying for greasy rice flour noodles. The portion is a bit smaller than usual, not by a lot, but it's smaller. But then again, there's no need for a to-go box. The order comes with a small bowl of veggie soup. The place is small. Capacity is about eighteen people and that's pushing it (no UYEs here, hah). The owner/manager speaks in broken English, with a strong accent...adding to the allure. Most customers drop in to order food to go. Located at the Fairmont Center in Pacifica, right off Hwy 35. Cheap Chinese foods revisit, sure. More like 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up ITTET.

The place was dirty and smelled like cigarette smoke. Ordered orange chicken. Gross. Small portion, though I barely ate it so that didn't matter. Tasted like corn starch. Very bizarre tasting orange chicken. Store bought frozen orange chicken would have be way better. I swear this place must be a front for something shady cuz the food can't be keeping them in business. Maybe they have a few things they do well but the 3 times or so I've been there in the last 5 years have been troubling experiences. Go to rice n roll instead.

Most Chinese restaurants that I know of hardly do anything over rice. Most places are à la carte and I was surprised that this place sold me a plate with walnut shrimp over BBQ pork fried rice and for 8 bucks, you can't go wrong. It's not the best Chinese food, but good enough to satisfy your craving.

Yay!!! FINALLY!! Decent Chinese food in Pacifica!! Sam's is clean and the service is friendly. Best of all is the Chinese style fried half chicken. I'm so addicted. Crazy good. Fried rice has that nice smokiness of a well seasoned wok that I look for. Just delicious. They are located on the street side next door to Starbucks in the Fairmont Shopping Center. It's a small storefront and easy to miss. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. :)

Great food! The only place I go for Chinese food in Pacifica! When I feel sick, I get my wonton soup there to pick me up!

When it comes to getting Chinese food in Pacifica, this place is THE place to go to. The workers are so nice and know my family by name, and I know that whenever we come here there will always be consistency. The place is located in a little plaza with a Starbucks, Lucky's, Rite Aid, etc ... and the parking is plentiful. There are only about 3 tables inside, so it isn't your usual dine in place ... even though my family always insists on dining in so that they can chat it up with the employees there. The majority of their business comes from take out orders and the food is always just as great as eating in, and the portions just as large. They have all the different Chinese foods you can think of and are willing to make something special for you if you request it. Also the prices are very low, so you don't need to worry about your pocketbook if you want to try more then one dish -- I recommend getting one of their lunch specials, delish! Oh, and btw ... they deliver -- for FREE!!! :D

It's yummy, it's cheap, it's super quick, the people who work here are really nice and it's close to my place, what more does a girl need in a Chinese restaurant? It's perfect for nights when I just want to grab something on my way home without going too far out of my way. To be perfectly honest, it's a tiny bit greasy for my taste, but the convenience factor really can't be beat.

I thought twice about writing this review simply because you don't ever want to cost anyone their business. Hopefully they'll know to read their reviews and take note and make improvements. The menu is extensive but, the food is subpar. As previous reviews have said, the food is drenched is sauces, nasty, thick, bland, sauces. I too could not find the meat. I ordered garlic chicken. It was BLAND, in a thick starchy white sauce. The chicken salad had small, very small pieces of breaded chicken. Perhaps leftover chicken? I threw out $32 dollars worth of my order. The chicken with garlic sauce, Stir fried calamari (NOTHING stir fried about it...it was in a thick sauce and it was only the tentacles), chicken salad and one other thing that I now can't remember. What a waste of money. The wonton soup was just ok but it was at least edible. I also had the spicy pepper wings...oily, very oily, and extremely salty. Will NOT go back here again.

To be honest, I haven't ordered from here since October 2011. Since they had a delivery service and I hadn't had Chinese for a while, I called them. It was the biggest mistake I've made. When I opened the rice up there were small black mice turds in the rice. After seeing 4 very visible turds scattered I threw everything away and ordered a pizza and have never called Sam's up again. I just couldn't believe that they couldn't see them. I realized they just didn't care what they served. It's sad, I have been coming to this spot for over 35 years, back in the early 1970's when it was Wong's Chinese restaurant. I'll never go back.

I always get the same thing every single time I go there! It's amazing and it makes my mouth happy. The place is small and not many tables. The tables are sticky at times and so my family usually have to wipe the table ourselves. However the people there are very nice (: I just may ask if they could deliver.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
