Paul’s Place Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I've been coming here for years. From my experiences the staff is friendly the food is well made from the gyros to the burgers. I usually get the double bacon cheeseburger combo and it does not disappoint the fries are awesome, nice and thick and the burger itself is quite delicious and tasty. They also have Mexican food which I have only tried once. I had a carne asada taco and found it well tasting as well. I have to give this place my compliments.

Looking for a good fast food place this is it! I love gyros and there's are THE bomb! I had a chicken gyro my husband had the chicken plate with rice and a salad. Our friend had a pastrami burger and he was in heaven!! If you are from Utah or have eaten at Crown Burger or Astro Burger there it's just like these popular Greek owned places. If you're looking for some a great fast meal this is a great option!

I have always liked Paul's but it's pretty much cash only and they do have an atm machine. It's definitely a hole in the wall but the food is decent and affordable. The things that I like about Paul's is that the menu is large, the prices are great and I love supporting mom and pops. You can get just about anything to eat from sweet potato fries to a pastrami sandwich. I'm not sure if they have ice cream shakes but they should just like The Pit Stop. Also the size of the pastrami sandwich is huge I couldn't even finish it. So Paul's is alright it's a mom and pop so they try hard to please their customers.

Horrible service and unlike the other locations. I really enjoy Paul's burger and it was my first time at this location. The food was cold and the service was horrible. food was very overpriced for the quality and THEY EVEN CHARGED ME 45 cents per sauce. I wasted money here and I will definitely not be back. This place deserves 0 stars but the loswest I can rate this place is 1.

I visited here maybe a month or so ago only because i read some reviews here that said best chili cheese fries. I love chili cheese fries, so i dragged my husband here to try it. I got those with chicken tenders and when they tried to charge me for that plus regular fries, it was frustrating to start. I've never heard of a place where you can't upgrade your side for a fee. A lady that seemed to be the owner made me feel like she thought i was trying to pull one over on her. I just wanted to try the chili cheese fries with my chicken. Also, there was a ghetto note on the drink machine that said something about drinking all of what you take or something like that. It seemed like something a mom would tell her child, but i just found it very tacky. For the food, the chili cheese fries were so nasty. The worst i've ever had unfortunatly. I dont know if i went when they ran out of real beef or what. It tasted nothing like beef at all, though. The chicken tenders were normal chicken tenders. All in all, i thought i found a good spot from reviews here, but i wont go back.

Best fast food joint in oceanside. You can order your burgers well done. Fries are fresh and crispy never burnt every time!

This place cracks me up. So, first time here I ordered a chicken gyro combo. Delicious! Tender chicken pieces, super soft pita and awesome fries. Tzaziki was good but needed more cucumber. I would not have expected this to be as good judging a book by its cover. Firstly, the place is a dump. Hideous wallpaper and seating and the faded unappetizing food pics on the wall do not help to whet one's appetite. Secondly, and most oddly was the number of employees behind the counter. I thought I was in Chipotle. 5 women not doing much of anything and one guy on the line cooking everything and mopping floors, the only one working his ass off. What on earth are they all doing here? The women are having a social gathering by the drive they window. It's not very busy. One person through the drive thru every 5 mins and eight patrons in the restaurant. The whole restaurant heard some guy trying to decide what Shake to order the speaker is so loud. Lol! I asked for some vinegar for my fries and they charged 45c. I guess they have to find some way to pay all those wages. My gyro was amazing so I'll be back- if nothing else to watch this oddity in restaurant operation. Still scratching my head. Oh, and there's a Help Wanted sign on the door. Lol

Not much to look at on the exterior of the building, but when I saw the constant influx of cop cars coming to this restaurant - I knew there had to be more than meets the eye. This place has THE BEST BLT's. They're crispy, fresh, and loaded with bacon! Give them a try - you won't be disappointed!!!

Food consistantly good for price. Could use a better quality tuna Excellant mushrooms and onion rings

I've been frequenting this place since high school, and not sure how I haven't given this place as much written praise as I have verbal. the food is always delicious and prompt. today for the first time, I enjoyed the chicken gyro. the chicken was delicious and perfectly grilled; juicy, and beautifully seasoned. for my palate, nothing is complete without avocado, and its addition made this gyro one I will order probably for the rest of my life the staff was friendly, and the owner, Vicky, came around when she had a minute to chat with me briefly. she was kind, engaging and very nice. if you've never eaten at Paul's, well, your stomach would scold you if it could speak; or, maybe that grumbling you hear is just that: your belly telling you to take yourself to Paul's..!!!

  • Rebecca D.

Had the gyros. Very good and lots of meat. Fries also a hit. Nice to see gyros on the menu.

  • Ricardo P.

I give it 4 starz only because the grouchy owner is stingy and charges you for ranch. Also, she gets an attitude when you ask her for extra ketchup and banana peppers. The food is great and delicious.

  • Robert B.

Me and my mom ate there the other day she had the fish dinner and salad with avocado. 15 minutes later she was in the bathroom throwing up!!! We will NEVER go there again!!! :-(

  • Anthony M.

The food here is pretty good for the price. The problem with this place is that they can't seem to get the drive thru orders right. Last night they forgot one of our burgers and the ranch dressing that they charge for. This is the fourth time in a row that they haven't gotten my order right.

  • Nancy M.

Ok first of all this place shouldn't be called Paul's place! Go to the one in orange county and you will see why I say that... the patty is super thin! The fries are practically none existing! Horrible service! The owner yells at her employees while customers are around... it's just all together the worst Paul's place I've been to!

    (1)
  • Michael C.

For a fast food restaurant this is the best in Oceanside, plus I love their grilled chicken salads.

    (4)
  • Alexandra A.

I heard many great things about this place & I guess they were all lies. My food was absolutely disgusting. The chicken sandwich I had was dry & under seasoned & the zucchini fries I order were greasy I couldnt even touch them. Horrible waste of money.

I've lived down the street from Paul's for almost 2 years and didn't try it out until recently. We got a cheeseburger with everything on it, a bacon cheeseburger, and fries. It was so good! The employee's and owner are a hit and miss for me though, don't really care for the shape of the drive-thru either. But I'd definitely choose this place over any of the other fast food around here.

  • Brian J.

I stopped in here for breakfast and had the pancake combo with eggs over easy and requested my bacon chewy (I can't stand dry, crispy, well done bacon). They weren't very busy so the wait time wasn't very long. The food: very bland. Eggs were cooked as asked. My bacon was well done despite asking for it to be chewy. I let the woman at the counter know. She was very polite and had them cook me more, but that bacon was well done as well. The pancakes were "okay" at best. I'm not sure what it was, but they seemed to absorb every spread of butter I put on there. The syrup was really watery and didn't seem to stick to the pancakes. My verdict is that I'll probably never eat breakfast here again, but I'm open to giving lunch a try sometime.

  • Wendy O.

Very good food, have never had a compliant about costumer service. The avocado bacon cheeseburger and club sandwich are the best. Have not tried any of their greek food. Salads are decent. The place could use a face lift, its an old building but again the food is great

  • Juan V.

They charge for every little thing where in other places you get free when you order a specific items

  • Kristina D.

I eat here pretty often - I have never, NEVER gotten a wrong order, the food is always still hot when I get it home and tastes exactly as it should. Pastrami burger is super bomb, and the onion rings are extremely tasty. Price may seem high, but when compared to the amount of food you can get at McD's or BK across the street, Paul's is a much more satisfying alternative (for your taste buds and your wallet). Also, the BBQ sauce is delicious. As far as breakfast goes, I have had the breakfast burrito (huge! And good ratio of bacon-egg-potato-cheese) and the chorizo and eggs - also delicious. In addition, Paul's Place doesn't make my insides feel like they're being ripped out of my body (as they do when I consume McD's/BK/Jack/etc etc etc.). Just go there, and definitely order the onion rings, and definitely dip them in barbecue sauce.

  • K. G.

Pretty good!!! Got a cheeseburger and fried zucchini. Both tasted great. Came here with family, their food looked good as well. Simply put, its casual diner food via drive thru. Don't expect gourmet meals or anything, but it was definitely worth the money!!

    (4)
  • Christina A.

I've only tried a few of their items and from what I've tried I haven't been disappointed. Their chili cheese fries w/onions are pretty good and the portions are generous. They offer breakfast all day (pancakes, french toast, egg sandwiches, etc) and standard fast food fare. Breakfast plates are big and pretty good. I tried their pancakes once and they were a tad too sweet with a cinnamon flavor I wasn't expecting but maybe that was just an off day. The burgers are decent. Not bad but not spectacular either. They also have a few Mexican items like burritos and quesadillas I think. Service is friendly and thorough. Overall if I was in the area and looking for a quick bite I'd return but keep in mind their drive through wait can be long sometimes if they're busy since they make everything to order.

Food is great! The décor is need of a major overhaul! The atmosphere is strange. *The pictures on the walls need to be thrown away. They are old, faded and ugly *The wallpaper needs to go go go it is terrible.....It is for a bedroom not a restaurant *The pictures of the food on the wall need to GO away......Believe me the food is good the pictures are horrible. *The vending machines with the 10 year old looking candy and toys have to go. *New light fixtures are needed they look like they should be in the dining hall at a old people home. *The turquoise color has to go........Looks like it belongs on the exterior of a house. I get my food to go because the atmosphere is horrible in there.

Mom and pop place. Good food. A little on the greasy side but that's to be expected. The building could definitely use some remodeling. The employees are always friendly.

Great little neighborhood diner. Had the double bacon and avocado cheeseburger the second time, and the BLT the first time. Both times it was great!

  • Mary A.

We went here for my grandson's birthday. The staff was very nice and accommodating and we all had a good time. I had the fish filet sandwich and we shared some sweet potato fries. I've had better fish but for the type of restaurant that this is, I thought that the food was good. I didn't care for the atmosphere.

  • Jamee M.

This place is a great mom n pop kind of place. Always great food. They have the best blt sandwiches in town! And fries! My boyfriend always gets their double cheeseburger and he loves it! Chili cheese fries are good too.. Give it a shot and support our local restaurant

I've been coming to Paul's Place since I discovered it when I first moved here a few years back. I love old fashioned cheeseburgers and they have my favorite fries. The club sandwich is also pretty good. It's a little pricey and there's a little wait at the drive thru, but it's usually worth it. The staff is always friendly and I've never been disappointed.............That is until tonight. They close at 10 and I called in an order at 16 till. Conversation went as follows: Me: "Hi, can I order a cheeseburger and fry please." Pauls: "We close at 10 and it's 5 minutes till 10." Me: "Actually it's a quarter till 10." Pauls: "Well, we close at 10 and leave at 10. How long will it take you get here?" Me: "Around 10 minutes." Pauls: "Well, I don't want to place your order if your not here by 10. How far do you live? How many miles?" Me: "About 5 or 6. I can be there before 10." Pauls: "Well, what if you're not here by 10? We will be closed and locked up and leaving at 10. And if you're not here..........." Me: "You know what? Nevermind. I'll go somewhere else." Pauls: "Okay. Yeah." Me: CLICK Are you freakin'' kidding me? Talk about not needing my business. I love the food and I go there all the time and always recommend it to people. But that was just plain rude. I just can't return to an establishment like that. Any advice? I need to find a new place.

Love the healthy choice and sweet potato fries. Takes a little long but you know you are getting your food made to order.I recommend calling ahead to speed it up. Great job to the crew

Really good spot for burger's etc. Their bacon cheeseburger is one of the best around. Their healthy choice is great.

For fast food I love this place! Way better than the big chain restaurants. Good food great prices!! A+++

Great spot for a good old fashioned breakfast. I recommend the ham and eggs with a hot cup of coffee.

  • Clark N.

Been coming here a lot of years. It's a standard mom-n-pop fast food place (used to be a Del Taco back in the day), run by a Greek family for about 20 years. If you're familiar with Oceanside's Angelo's chain, you'll find the menu here familiar: giant hamburgers, gyro, fried zucchini, fish 'n chips, Greek salad. Not bad, but not fantastic; usually Paul's is our family's Sunday night "I don't feel like cooking - want a grilled ham 'n cheese?") go-to. Fried mushrooms are a menu treat for those that like 'em.

    (3)
  • Jay D.

Well let me see. I am not impressed by this second rate wanna be Angelo's Oh and did I mention if you order onion rings you won't get ranch dressing with them unless you pay an additional .40c? Who does that? Who sells onion rings and then doesn't give you ranch with them? And while we were there I watched a lady come out to wipe down the tables. She took a towel from the back and wiped down each and every table with the same towel. So if the people next to us had some sickly sickness she did nothing to kill the virus. Instead she just assured that the virus that was on one table was spread to every other table. Never again!

  • Bob J.

Ordered Ortega Swiss and Mushroom Swiss Combos, both were very good. Good quality buns, lots of toppings but not too much to handle. French fries were great, sweet potato fries were average.

    (4)
  • Michael S.

Sorry, just a little too greasy spoon - don't mind if food is amazing, but no where near amazing, just ok.

    (2)
  • Rachel M.

Woman who runs the joint is rude and unhygienic with food. I asked if they could make my bacon crispy and she grabbed my plate, turned around, and right in front of me pulled the fatty parts off my bacon, put what was left of 2 strips instead of 4 back on my plate and handed it back to me. When I went to take it, she refused to release the plate and said, "Are you happy now?" Whoa. The french toast was cold and tasted like cardboard. Never.Again.

    (1)
  • Ricardo M.

This place is disgusting. I'm not sure how they pass a food inspection. As I am waiting to get my food at the drive through window, they had pulled up the rubber mats in their kitchen to sweep. As they are making our food others are sweeping around the food preparers. It looked like they hadn't swept up their floor in weeks. Poor sanitary and food prep practices. And their food was horrible.

    (1)
  • Robert P.

I've been getting burgers and other items here for several years and never had a bad experience. I've never eaten breakfast here, but I don't consider it a breakfast type of eatery. The double cheeseburgers are great with or without bacon or avocado. The orders of fries are large enough that my wife and I split one. Their menu is large and quite varied and I'm sure that there are instances where the results for an individual's order may be less than perfect but over all I think the place is very good. I discount any negative comments about the decor. It's not a dump and it's not filthy, perhaps occasionally a little unkempt. After all it's just a local independent fast food joint. Cops like so it must have something going for it. I chat with the Greek owner and she has always been nice and professional with me, but being the owner of a small business myself I can appreciate her ability to occasionally deal with some customers in a negative manner usually in a situation that deserves such a reaction. I certainly agree with the fact the the customer is NOT always right and there are some that are not welcome back. In todays economy profit is difficult and sometimes fleeting. I don't feel the prices at Paul's Place are out of line with their competition. I get what I pay for but if you're looking for a $.99 hamburger then this is not the place for you. I think the quality of their ingredients and preparation is above average. Keeping quality high and expenses in line is difficult in running any small business and I think Paul's Place does a decent job with this task. Give it a try and I think you will be back.

Nothing special, other than being a dive. I always like getting a burger from

They recently repainted the exterior so I can't say, "Don't judge this place by its looks." It's one of my favorite places to eat and a good alternative to what Pit Stop down the street offers when you want to quickly get food through a drive thru. I really like the bacon cheeseburger, gyro, and ham and cheese sandwich. They have a variety of food. American, Mexican, Greek, and soul food. I can honestly say they hit all of them on the spot.

    (4)
  • Daniel R.

Perfect place to eat, while you get your car washed next door. The workers are upbeat and friendly. Place looks old. I sure wish I could meet Paul. Food is made quickly and it's not that bad. The only reason why I come here is because it's next to the car wash.

I've been coming to Paul's for years! Definitely always a better choice than the McDonald's across the street...I've tried everything here. EVERYTHING is delicious! Fried Zucchini (don't forget the amazing ranch dressing) Bacon Avo Cheeseburger Greek Salad ...basically anything on the menu! and HUGE portions for the prices. I love Paul's and the owners are the friendliest people you'll ever meet :)

  • Jonny G.

I checked out Paul's Place tonight after reading about the "place" on the Yelp app for my new Droid X phone. (What a great phone!) Paul's Place has been coined the "Greek McDonald's" by the Reader magazine back in 1995. I read this on a faded version of the article framed on the wall. It matched the decor perfectly because all the other framed pictures and prints were also faded and of Greek subject, like gyros and Greek islands and architecture. The interior could certainly use a makeover. The menu is on an old school light board that isn't very appealing but the wide selection of offerings here will have you looking at it for awhile. Prices are very reasonable. Upon others recommendations, we tried the bacon avocado cheeseburger, pastrami sandwich, and chili cheese fries. We ordered at the counter and filled our soft drinks at the self serve fountain and sat at one of the many booths inside. The disposable cups were also Greek in theme with images of an Olympian and the Parthenon. Our food came up quickly. The burger was just okay- the bacon was thick, crunchy and delicious and the avocado fresh and plentiful. The problem was with the burger patty itself. It was only "wafer thin" and wasn't the juicy ground chuck I was hoping for. The chili cheese fries were also good but not great. The portion is generous and a value for the price. Definitely share these- too big for one person and not good enough for a stand alone meal in my opinion. The best in show today was the pastrami sandwich by a landslide. The sandwich was hot and piled high with the tastiest pastrami I have had in quite some time. The pickles and mustard were in perfect proportion and at $5.79, worth every penny. One last item I wasn't thrilled with was the little paper napkins provided in the "diner" style table dispensers. Not an ideal implement when eating messy food like the chili cheese fries. I'll be back to Paul's Place again soon I am sure for some drive thru pastrami and I'm looking forward to trying the breakfast menu as well. (Perhaps the steak and eggs for around $8?!?) I'll let you know! Opa!!

After moving away from Oceanside this is one of the spots I missed the most. I ate there for lunch today and the food is always great. Always service with a smile. Bacon burgers, fried mushrooms, healthy choice meal, are some of my favorites. Stop on by you won't be dissatisfied.

    (5)
  • Helen W.

Had a taste for a char burger, so we came by here for one. Sign on window said New 1/2 lb chuck burger, so we opted for that instead of the ouble burger we usually get. Big mistake! The beef was tasteless and not cooked very well. Plus the bun got very soggy half way thru. So don't try this new burger. Everything else was ok, the fried mushrooms were great and fries ok as usual.

    (3)
  • Hanna M.

I always stop here for lunch when my job brings me to Oceanside. They have a huge menu with Mexican, Greek and American food. It looks really run down from the outside but the staff is polite and the food is delicious. Everything is fresh so expect to spend a little more time than normal if you're going through the drive through (about 10 minutes). Don't eat here unless you're able to take some food home in a doggy bag because their portion sizes are huge and I've only been able to eat about half of what I'm served. I'd recommend the carne asada burrito, just make sure you have someone to split it with! :)

    (4)
  • Chad R.

My wife loves the chicken tender order with the onion rings. I always get the chicken supreme sandwich with fries. They don't make it until you order it, so my sandwiches and burgers are always hot and fresh off the grill. One of my favorite spots when I want something good to eat and I'm in a rush.

    (4)
  • Nick S.

I've eaten at Paul's place about 15 times now. The food (as far as drive-thru goes) is excellent and they've got a lot if variety when it comes to the menu. The avocado bacon cheeseburger is one of my all-time favorites, their burritos are good, and their Greek food is the best I've ever had from a fast-food joint. Gotta try the fried zucchini and the mushrooms as well. Don't let the outside fool you, Paul's Place is on point!

  • Cesar V.

Ive been dining here for the past 2 years because I work down the street. The food is actually not bad, some of it is really good like the bacon avocado burger (which I might have tomorrow for lunch). The service is preatty good, especially from Sarah, she works the counter and the drive through. She's always been very nice, funny and courteous while I'm there. The place could use a paint job or some exterior power washing. This place even takes orders over the phone and its ready very quickly...I always order ahead before going on break and it saves me like ten minutes of my break. Their chilly cheese fries are SOOOO GOOD!! Go ahead and try them! You know you want to

  • Elizabeth M.

I'm giving Paul's a 5 for the friendly service, and consistently good home cooking. Where else can you get breakfast, carne, burgers, and fish and chips? It isnt fancy, it isn't expensive, it's just Paul's; and when every other place is making dinner complicated it's nice to have somewhere simple and good to rely on. Oh, and if you don't want to be surrounded by loud kids and silly memorabilia (we won't name names), then just go one more block west down Mission to this place.

Really good salads with lots of grilled chicken and fresh veggies. Super friendly service.

  • Dee M.

I'm not sure how anyone could not thoroughly enjoy the killer bacon avocado cheeseburger. I'm in heaven every time O eat one. I have to starve myself all day before I can eat one because it's soooo bad for you... But it's totally worth it. The service can be painfully slow and the younger woman working the drive thru can be a bit unfriendly for my taste, but she becomes a VERY distant memory after taking a bite of the burger - and don't forget to order their delicious fries. I would have given 4 stars but I experienced really bad service today and all of a sudden they've started charging .40 for ranch when it was free before.

  • Lisa L.

Been going here for years. As fast as fast food goes, its way above a chain. Generous portions, great customer service. You can phone in an order and then roll thru the drive thru to pick it up when you're trying to do a quick take out (or grabbing dinner on the way home from work). I recommend the 21-shrimp boat dinner - comes with salad & Texas toast. My guys always order the burgers. One of these days I will try their breakfast...

I love coming to Paul's Place! Everyone in the family knows what they want! There is American, Greek, and Mexican food! Delicious thick cut fries and delish smoothies! I love the deep fried Zucchini!!! They look like a place out of the fifty's and I love it! Their salads are big and delicious so you could come here with a diverse crowd and there is something for everyone!

Before today's visit to Paul's Place, the last time I had food from here was over 3 years ago. The look of the restaurant has not changed much. The outside could use a new paint job. The drive through menu/speaker needs to be replaced. The lady taking the payment may need to take some time off to rejuvenate. The two changes I noticed were the chicken sandwich size looked significantly smaller and the prices were much higher. The sandwich was still good. The lettuce and tomato were fresh. I ordered a combo meal (fries and a drink ) for an additional $2.85 (much, much cheaper before). I was shocked at the extremely small drink. I wanted to ask them if they were giving me a kid's cup. For the quantity and quality I got for the price I paid, I would not visit Paul's Place that often. Maybe, it'll be better in another three years.

After several pretty good experiences following Yelp reviews including The Money Pit, I saw the "gourmet" on the sign on Paul's and thought, Why Not? Honestly, this run-down type of establishment would normally scare me, but I have renewed courage from Yelping and being Yelped, I mean, helped out with Yelper reviews. So, I drove through, turned off the car, it was about ten minutes to get my burger. It was the most horrible thing I've ever seen or tried. The meat quality, great if you like gristle. GROSS. I hate to waste food, but this burger only got one bite, and so only one star to Paul's. Note the lady at the window was gruff, no smile, no thank you. WTF? And I paid for this experience? Avoid!

How sad! This place has gone downhill. The pastrami sandwich was like salted shoe leather. The bacon avocado burger was just plain bad. The onion rings nasty. Used to be a nice dive with great divey food. Now it's a place to pass on and think of better days. RIP Paul's.

  • Oscar L.

Been coming here for years. Everything from the burgers, pastrami, steak sandwiches & fries are always cooked to order and delicious. I think their signature dish is either the zucchini or chili fries. Yummy!

  • Erik O.

It's a mom and pop fast food joint, which is a nice change of pace from the big franchises.

  • LuckieMaounds P.

I came here after a terrible, overpriced smog check of my sputtering little clunker, ravenous and grouchy. No matter, as Paul's has the most delicious fried zucchini, sliced into french fry-like sticks for dipping into heavenly, fattening, buttermilk ranch! Food is cooked to order which means that sometimes the drive-thru line will be a bit slow. It's worth it - the food is fresh, HUGE, and delicious.

I've probably passed this place about a hundred times in my 16 years of living here, and I guess it never really registered with me that this dingy little place was a restaurant, let alone, open and serving food. It wasn't until my friend physically drove us here that I realized what she was talking about and where we were going to eat. For a casual meal, I suppose it will do, the food was fairly decent although I don't think their hamburgers are quite right. Maybe the burger was too hard, or the seasoning was off. Anyways, I was glad that my friend and I were there to talk, and so I was mostly eating distracted. I would come back and order something else to give it a fair chance. Supposedly its actually a Greek place? so I might give their gyros a try. Parking is super easy, just a lot right out front, easily accessed from Mission Ave, and prices are cheap. Minus points for griminess, but then again it might just be that it needs a new paint job.

I went here after buying my new Martin HD-28 from buffalo bros in cbad (see previous review). I had what I always used to get when I was up north: bacon avocado cheeseburger (extra pickle) & chili cheese fries and it was just as good as I remembered it from my younger days. The velvet avocado combined with the juicy pickles/tomato really takes a bite out of the salty bacon/cheese mix, which is essential and often overlooked for such burgers; perfectly balanced in that respect earning a 5th star in my book. CC fries were great as always, though I can't eat a whole order by myself anymore (my roommates CRUSHED my leftovers, lol). My only complaint was that there was another customer had a baby behind me that was screaming a little too much for my liking but the mom calmed it down after a while. Nothing I could really do there. Other than that, it's great to see a place be consistent over many years of patronage!

I was in Oceanside to see a friend's band perform and apparently this place is the spot they always go to before gigs. They're fans of the pastrami and the chili cheese fries so I followed suit and wasn't disappointed. The pastrami was tender and moist and not too salty like many pastramis you get at places like this. The chili cheese fries were fantastic and were the highlight of the meal. It was the perfect thing for all of us to split and put us in a good mood. The only negative thing I'd comment on is that a beer would've gone perfectly with the food but that wasn't really an option. Next time we come down, I'll be sure to hit this little gem up again.

So sad they don't serve breakfast all day ( just 7 am to 11am). Beware of the yarros (gyro) sauce, so garlicy I thought I was still eating it hours later. It is not on the menu but if you are in the mood for a meaty excpericence try the "Triple D" 3 stacks of patties. May a recomend getting it with avocado. Just to help add some lubrication for all the meat. It is super good ( no I did not order one but was happy to enjoy the one that my friend got). If you are looking for a quick bite of Greek, American Diner Food, or Mexican then this is a decent place to go. Plus they have fried murshroom!!!

I use to eat here a lot when it first opened, and recently decided to order take out a year later. I was really disappointed! I ordered fish & chips which came with a salad and I'm sure you're wondering how could you mess up a fried dish. I'll tell you. The fish was cooked to order, but the fries were precooked possibly hours before re-frying for my order. The onion rings were re-battered and re-fried for my order as well, which created a thick soggy layer. The salad contained sour tomatoes that smelled rotten. I won't order from here ever again. Way over priced and the food is horrible. Hulk's thumb down! Smh

I had the Bacon, Avocado, Cheeseburger with an order of ChiliCheese Fries because I read the previous rave reviews. Cost $10. Result: Sorry, it was nothing special. The good news 1st: The menu is huge, and they certainly did not skimp on the Avocado. Now the bad: The burger patties and the fries were the cheap pre-made, pre-packaged kind. While I prefer independent restaurants, this was more like a knock-off of a fast food cafe. Bottom line: The food may have lacked the originality that I like, but it wasn't bad.

Every time...no....every single god damn time I go to Oceanside, I stop by Paul's Place. There is something for everyone here. If I'm "being good" nothing on earth beats the Greek Chicken Plate. Delicious rice with grape leaves and capers, half of a lemon herb roasted chicken, some of the best pita bread I've ever had, and a side salad with an herb olive oil, and vinegar Greek dressing. The price: $6.75. wtf right? yeah I know. If I'm "being bad"....BEST CHILI CHEESE FRIES EVER (NO EFFING JOKE) a must try. Do not die without having had these, especially with a side of ranch. Yes this dish will shorten your life by a week at the least, yes it will hit you, like all good things, as a tranquilizer dart, yes you may need to nap in your car before driving home. BUT DO TRY! Price: $~3.50 I get the fries with their BACON AVOCADO CHEESEBURGER. It's big delicious, they never skimp on the avocado, and its one of my favorite burgers of all time. GET THESE TWO TOGETHER AND YOU'LL FEEL LIKE YOU OWE ME SOMETHING. but no need man. no need. Not just that! Paul's Place is know for their breakfasts. They have a turkey, avocado, and bacon omelet that Takes up the gigantic plate, which I always get with wonderful house potatoes, and your choice of bread. The servings are huge, cheap, delicious, and all of the food is incredibly fresh. Do not go to Denny's! (though it costs the same). Price: $~5.00. Please, if you're hungry heading past Pendlton-get off on the 76 and head here. The menu is huge, I've tried most of it, and am always pleased with what I order, but I usually stick to the same things I stated above. This is one of those family businesses that is reliable -every time I come here, everything is the same: the food, the service, the prices-so comfortable. Also good: $2 bean and cheese burritos $3 fried mushrooms/zucchini $4 pastrami sandwich

Really? This place is so over rated. I went and got the bacon avacado cheese burger...nothing great. I could make better at home. The burger was flat and dry. No flavor to the meat. Seriously the people saying this place is great are on crack. This place is not "reasonably priced". It is expensive as hell for what you get. If I'm going to pay that much for a burger and some fries, I'll go to In-n-out where they have food that means something... I was so ready to make this place my lunch-break go to.... Sorry Paul, its just not going to work out, and it is you...

Think of an a bowling alley then upgraded Denny's food and you get PAULS PLACE. I will not say you should go here if your looking for the greatest ingredients known to man. They have been there for a long time and they do average food REALLY well. I would go here if you want some comfort food:) Decor is outdated and service is decent. Usually come here when I do not want to deal with DENNYS/IHOP crowds. Its a nice place in the O:)

I just moved to Oceanside myself. And i have eat around lots of place's. But for a burger it got to be Pauls place. There burger's got a unique taste to it. Service is always great all the time. There breakfast is amazing welled portion on everything and the taste is very good. If you haven't ate at Paul place. I think your missing out. And a plus they also do protein style burger . That's plus in my book. Because very hard and rare to find a place that does it. And don't have to sit in the long drive Thur at in and out for it. Overall great place to eat. Enjoy

Their veggie burgers, fries and fried zucchini are outstanding. A little more expensive than McDonald's or another fast food place, but this isn't a chain and they serve fresh food. Whenever I leave here I am uncomfortably full though, but that is my fault for eating too much. Good food, good sized portions. The only thing about this place that is a negative is that the drive thru takes forever! I would suggest going in and ordering and while you wait you can eat some hot chilis that they have out...

Great food, great service, reasonable prices. You could very easily walk in with two people, spend $15 and feel as stuffed as you do when you leave Claim Jumpers. Their portions are great, their food is excellent and their prices are very reasonable. The only downside, unless you go with one of the healthier options, some of your food has obviously lost every bit of "healthiness" when it was cooked. Still, it's worth it when you want it.
