This review is solely based off their GLORIOUS breakfast burritos, haha. I have never actually gone in to the restaurant or have ordered from there, a co-worker buys them for the office for our Friday morning meetings and they are so good! I am not even a breakfast person and I don't typically like fast food breakfast burritos but this one is the EXCEPTION! (yes, I am yelling) So anyways, five stars for the breakfast burritos!

Not a happy camper today at Jimmy Deans. Not only was Ashley thee worst cashier when it comes to customer service.... My burrito was terribly prepared. Although this location is so close to home I will not be coming to this Jimmy Deans ever again.

The place ok... I ordered the Denver omelette with egg white. Omelette was tasty, but they F_ _ _ _ _ me in the drive thru. Shorted me a bottle water. Always check yourself, before leaving any food establishment.

I was told that I had to go here and try this places breakfast burrito. So some friends and I went one morning to grab some breakfast. The girl at the counter was nice and she definitely recommended the breakfast burrito for newbies. So that along with some ranch sauce did it for us. Freakin huge burrito! When it came I immediately regretted not getting the smaller size. It was massive and filled with potatoes, cheese, eggs, meat and chili. Yes chili. Weird but altogether the fillings made for a great breakfast burrito. And yep, the yelpers were right. The added ranch sauce made it even better. But let's be real, when does ranch not make something better. My friends and I all enjoyed our food. They also serve their entire menu all day. So feel free like my friend did and order the fish and chips at 7am. I will definitely be back.

Just close already! I used to go here when I lived in SCV back in the nineties. I recently moved back and saw that it was still open. Went through the drive-through, what an ordeal. It took FOREVER! Got home and opened the bag of disappointment. Literally the thinnest hamburger patty I have ever seen was burnt so bad it looked like a piece of leather. Then the onions rings. How do you burn onion rings on one side?! Did you cook them on the grill?! This place has gone downhill since the last time I was here (1998).

(Tookout 10/09/14 TH @ 11:00am): Not nearly as good as the legendary actor, but it'll do in a pinch! I was helping a dear friend move, and as a reward she treated me to lunch at Jimmy Dean's Charbroiled Burgers, which I'd been to once before when I still worked in the area. I believed this was the same namesake as the sausages you found in the grocery stores. In any event, it was one of those places you came across out in a rural area or along a lonely dusty highway. Since Newhall was kind of like that, I guess it fit. Anyway, on with the grub report: [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 2 of 5 STARS] ($4.45) Sadly, the only positives were the portion and individual sizes and the price. There simply wasn't any taste so I resorted to tons of Ketchup and ranch dressing. The breading was overly crispy to the point where each bite led to the entire casing crumbling apart which led to a huge mess and me with only an onion strip between my fingers. Definitely pass on these. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Bacon Cheeseburger ($5.69) - The filthier they came the more enjoyable it was going down into my belly! This handful of a fat juicy meat patty, stacked with layers of thick crispy (but not brittle) bacon, a large tomato slice a la Tommy's, hints of lettuce and some kind of sauce, and what appeared to be a square of government-esque cheese (i.e. extra yellow, didn't melt, and seemed rubbery), barely held together by lightly-toasted buns, was more to my liking. Nothing fancy or gourmet about it -- just down-and-dirty meat-in-my-mouth goodness where two hands and plenty of napkins were highly recommended. yelp.com/user_local_phot… Service - Based solely on the drive-thru experience, the young lady at the speaker was ready to take our order once we drove up...but we weren't. After a couple minutes we were set while she patiently waited. We pulled up to the window, paid for our food, and about ten minutes later (seemed a bit long) our food was ready. We were offered Ketchup packets and given a "have a nice day" as we left. Easy-peasy. Parking (free) - They had their own tiny parking lot with less than 15 spots. Otherwise, there was plenty of street parking along the main drag of Lyons Ave. or any of the surrounding side streets. Or, do as we did and hit up the drive-thru. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - On this occasion, we went through a rather standard narrow drive-thru lane. However, on a previous dining experience, I recalled the inside dining area reminded me of an aging 60's diner and a Denny's without the fleather booths, with several tables and chairs you'd find at any fast food joint disbursed throughout. There was a hectic-looking order counter area where the menu was displayed behind and up on the wall yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… . The refillable drink station, with an old skool Orange Bang! machine (God, I used to love that stuff!), was nicely kept yelp.com/biz_photos/jimm… . Various random things were hung on the walls. A decent amount of natural lighting came through the many windows; however, it was the various fluorescent and hanging electic lighting that was more prevalent. If you had some spare change, try your luck with the "crane" game. I didn't notice any TVs or background music. Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I considered Jimmy Dean's Charbroiled Burgers a "greasy spork", a term I affectionately called such places that served no-frills burgers and sides back in da day when I kept a food blog during the 90's. The menu was quite varied which also included an assortment of breakfast items (I've heard and read rave things about their burritos which I should've tried), sodas, milkshakes and the aforementioned Bang! Needless to say, the food wasn't the healthiest, but sometimes the bad tasted oh so damn good and your body needed a shock now and then! The prices were very good for what you got, but please stay away from the disappointing onion rings. I hoped their other sides (i.e. fries, zucchini, etc.) fared better. I found fairly good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total paid experience was around $11.00 before tip). Although I didn't pay on this occasion (thank you, Sandi!), they accepted credit cards, but not mine of choice...AMEX! 3.5 STARS

Food is good but to many employees rattling off stuffing Spanish. Not a thought to being courteous to the us timer, rude at the counter. Tough to beat the onion rings though

Best burrito around, they said. God's gift to earth, they said. Well, I say that's a bunch of crap! LOL The drive-thru is a complete joke. Kudos for having a drive-thru but what's the point of convenience if the wait time is double that of the dine-in. Food I do like that they have different sizes for their breakfast burritos. They have a junior ($5) and a regular ($7). I opted for the junior and it was pretty beastly. I would compare it to the size of a good Chipotle burrito. Even though the burrito was pretty packed I have to say I was a bit dissappointed. It came with chili which is rather odd. It has to be the first breakfast burrito I've ever tried with chili. The chili was generic but did mix well with the hashbrowns. On the other hand, my hashbrowns weren't toasty, there was hardly any sausage, the eggs were crispy (in a bad way) and the tortilla was way too big for what it was holding which left me with some pretty dry bites. Overall I expected more. It wasn't awful but it could be better with a few minor adjustments. I might come back to try their "pure ground beef" but I won't be back for that burrito.

We used to love Jimmy Dean's on Lyons. We went there all the time. But then, the service and the quality seemed to be heading south so we went less often and we eventually stopped going altogether. Saturday we returned. They were somewhat busy but nothing like a weekday lunch. Every table was dirty. Trash overflowed. It took forever to get our food and it was substandard. (Everyone knows the tuna on a tuna melt should be warm!) The window blinds were all open and there was glare at over 50 percent of the tables and the place was just hot. Another customer mentioned it and they turned on the overhead fans whish were set on high. This blew all of our napkins and paper products onto the floor. Ugh. Complacency has killed Jimmy Dean's.

The reviews about the "Mean Old Lady" caused me to steer clear of the Valencia location. I didn't want the possibility of running into her to tarnish my review of Jimmy Dean's in general, so I went to the Newhall location instead. The customer service was average, not exceptional. I ordered a pastrami cheeseburger and chili-cheese fries with onions. The pastrami burger was delicious! The quality was up there with an In-N-Out burger. The chili-cheese fries were tasty. The onions were fresh, and it was a good portion size. The chili was a bit salty. I don't know who makes the chili but it must be a commercial brand as I've tasted the same chili at other places as well. Overall it was a good experience and I would come here again. Most of the reviews on here rave about the breakfast burritos so I may try one of them sometime. And for all you breakfast burrito lovers, I urge you to come back for lunch or dinner sometime. You're missing out on great food if you only come here for breakfast.

Why can we not give 0 stars? My brother was working in the area and had lunch here on Friday March 20, 2015. He work up sat with the worst diarrhea and then began vomiting. He assumed it was from the dinner he had Friday night. He got worse and was hospitalized Sunday night. By Tuesday March 24 he was finally able to eat again. When he went back to work wed March 25, he told his boss he had food poisoning all weekend, to his surprise his boss and the other guy on the crew did as well. And they all ate here Friday and they all had something different. EATERS BEWARE!!!

  • Habiba F.

I struggle with the inconsistency in food quality at this location. The portions are great and worth the prices. My go to meal is fried zucchini and the chicken burrito. However, half the time my burrito is cold with a old dry tortilla. The other half of the time it is delicious. Tip - Park on the street if you find parking. The parking lot is a tight awkward hazard.

Holy crap. I was in the area for my nephew's school performance and afterwards was in need for some quick breakfast food. I Yelped it up and Jimmy Dean's popped up on my radar. I did a drive-by and ordered a regular breakfast burrito. I was contemplating on ordering the bigger one but my brother said the regular one was a good size to split between the two of us... When I unveiled the burrito, it was beastly!! Crap, I started to second guess myself if I had ordered the bigger one.. but I didn't. Geez, the thing is ginormous!! Flavor, portion and quality of ingredients are good - but not amazing. It will definitely hit the spot though if you're in the mood for a breakfast burrito, it did for me. However, if you're familiar with The Corner Cottage in Burbank, you know their breakfast burrito is AMAZING.. so don't set the standard high when coming to Jimmy Dean's.

The chili dogs and avocado burgers are my guilty pleasures. I have been to this fast food restaurant several times, and my experience has always been the same. I overestimate how much I can eat, and usually end up feeling horrible after my meal. While I should /probably/ order less, I feel like any item from any fast food restaurant will leave you feeling sort of..."bleh." This fast food joint is great for some very temporary happiness.

I have eaten here for over 24 years. It is only a few 100 yards from our office. The gyro is my staple. The burgers and the turkey sandwich are always great tasting. The drive through is fast as well. They also honor the 25score card. now both locations honor it.

I seriously love Jimmy Dean's and coming back to California was great because that was the first place I stopped to eat. The food is great and always fresh. The place is pretty amazing except I think it is kind of lame they charge for dipping sauces like Ranch, Honey Mustard, Italian and etc. It is only 50 cents though so that is not bad at all. All of the female employees that work there are very friendly and go out of their way to help you but one guy that works there is very rude. He looks like he is having a bad day everyday. He just stared at me as I walked up to order and just stared and said nothing so I said hi and he just smirked. I ordered and got a side of ranch as well. When my food was ready I got it and sat down noticed the ranch was not there. I asked the guy for my ranch and he said oh yeah and looked away and rolled his eyes. Really? I mean who cares it is just ranch and you forgot it so don't act like I am causing you to go out of your way. Other than that though it is a great place to eat but they should probably remodel the place or do something to change the inside.

Had driven by it forever finally stopped in to get myself some dinner via the drive thru. Got a medium french fry a double bacon cheeseburger and a large chocolate shake. Looks good smells good and I'm on my way home all the way back to Woodland Hills. I try the shake I can't seem to taste hardly any chocolate pop the top off can't even tell if there's any chocolate by looking at it. So now I'm a little bit annoyed but still willing to give it the benefit of the doubt that you know what the burger it's got to be good. I mean it looks good you know it has bacon kinda hard to mess that up. Well they did not even my chocolatish shake can get rid of the taste of gristle. I literally think that just chewing The gristle straight off of the grill would have had more flavor then this atrocity. The French fries or what you would expect soggy fries out of a bag would taste like. Now the customer service over the intercom the female seemed nice and friendly in person very short in communication and no smiling. I mean God forbid somebody think you're having fun at work. Then the guy who give me my bag of food if I can even this. Call it food cuz it was hardly even edible well let's just say he was probably in his forties and by far not the sharpest knife in the drawer. In closing I would rather go munch on some old kitty litter than ever go back there again.

This is the number one spot for the best burgers in town, I would say in and out is the second. This place is absolutely delicious, and it's hidden away in a small area of the city. If you're in the location of Newhall, I highly recommend coming here. I really like the dinner that I have there I had a hamburger. Their hamburgers are absolutely, beyond, amazing. There isn't a word that can fathom the deliciousness of their burgers. I highly suggest trying their burgers, I believe they're known for something else but their burgers and fries are absolutely tasty. It's definitely an acquired taste of its own. Thank you Jimmy Dean for being so awesome!

  • Shelby P.

Sooooo this place is great if your looking for some nice greasy diner food on the go. Their junior breakfast burritos are good sized (and I normally eat like a trucker) and one order of the fried zucchini is enough to feed 2 people. I would eat this every day but my poor stomach will only take it once a week or so. Don't go during lunch on a weekday, it's right next to hart and a lot of kids walk there (hey it's super convenient, I used to do it!) Other than that, it's pretty good food!

Very good breakfast burrito. We moved here less than a year ago and had a friend recommend Jimmy Dean's specifically for the breakfast burrito. Decided to try it before we left for a mini road trip to Santa Barbara.

I love me some Jimmy Dean's for sure! I don't think I have ever had anything bad from there. My favorites are the charbroiled chicken sandwich, very big and very good, and the fried zucchini... AMAZING! Their ranch dressing tastes homemade and their French fries are the kind you crave... super crispy and hot! I like visiting this spot on Sunday's after a Saturday night of partying... it's exactly what the doctor ordered for a speedy recovery. MMMM... I'm hungry right now just writing about it.

well im kind of disgusted. ordered a grilled cheese $3.11, seeing the cook grab his phone in his back pocket then wipe his hands on his pants and then touch my grilled cheese... priceless and unsanitary. won't be eating there anymore, late night at least or ever...

    (2)
  • Michael B.

I can't give it five stars because the A/C only works in the back. The double cheeseburger was very good. They toasted the bun... who does that anymore? NOBODY that's who! These guys do. You get fries that are enough to say you had fries. Reminded me of the old A&W restaurants I knew as a kid. That it sits on the corner of Lyons Ave and KANSAS ST should have been an omen! Only other objection is why would toy charge $2.40 for a large drink? Oh that's right you have to pay your unskilled labor $10/hour....

Ate at Jimmy Deans today 7/31/14 the food was good but "Dino" was in a bad mood and called me a liar yelling across the dining room when he gave me the wrong order. There was no excuse for his actions. He never apologized in fact got sarcastic. "Dino" whatever you were going through you should never take it out on the customers.

I like the food and come here often for the burritos. The last time that I was in, the cashier, a tall male, took my order and my cash and then proceeded to help prepare my burrito without washing his hands. I will not come back again when he is there.

  • Gruven T.

I've been going there for 20 years, and is the place I'd suggest for getting a burger with all the fixin's. Go hungry! Sandwiches, burgers, breakfasts --- be prepared to leave stuffed, and satisfied. And don't forget to order the fried zucchini.

I went to Jimmy Deans one day after the DMV and what a great find. They give you lots of food at a good price. I ordered the Ortega Roast Beef sandwich which had so much roast beef on it I could only eat half. (take a note Waystation) This is how to serve a roast beef sandwich... I took my husband here after work one day and now it is his favorite burger place in SCV... Love it...Keepp up the good work and food.

  • Emgelberth V.

The breakfast Burritos are the BOMB!!!!!! Getting these when I was going to Hart during 2004-2008 and having those reverse minimum days and eating them before school was the best. The after effect after eating the burrito made you at least 10 pounds lighter. The burgers are good and the seasoned fries and the regular fries are the best. This place is awesome and still come here when I have the chance or when I'm around newhall I pass by and eat here at jimmy deans.

I was unimpressed. food was mediocre in every sense of the word. decor is dated. i will not be back to this location. I guess it's survived because its not in a great area.

Every one in Santa Clarita raves about Jimmy Deans, and I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty great. Boyfriend and I had burgers and fries, good service at the drive-thru. HUGE menu selection AND they give you a take home menu so you have a better idea of what you want the second time you come around. Will have to come back for breakfast!

Diner style food., Order at the counter. They'll custom make it for you too. They are famous for their breakfast burritos, but have tons on the menu and if it's not on the menu, they will usually make it. Our friend has special food sensitivities (gluten, msg, vegetarian, etc.) and ordered a veggie omelet even though it wasn't on the menu. They put avocado, tomatoes, and other veggies and she loved it. They have good portions. The carne asada grande burrito is yummy. Fish-n-Chips comes with 4 to 5 nice sized pieces of fish (leftovers) Other items on the menu: grilled cheese, bbq sandwich...all kinds of sandwiches , burritos, mexican dishes, breakfast food served all day... They have a drive thru, prices are reasonable, diner/fast food style seating and employees are nice. Parking is tight, but I've always got a spot. Great for breakfast or lunch!

I have to give a shout-out to my favorite burger place in college, Jimmy Dean's on Lyons. I was recently in the area and I stopped by and wiggled my way into the awkward drive thru that you can really only access from the east, and ordered a legit burger that doesn't feel fast foody. Just a little fresher and... I guess un-assembly line? More TLC go into these burgers than a fast food place. A little more cash than MCDs, but waaaay better. Also, breakfast burritos with eggs, chili, cheese, and hash browns were a weekend staple for me. But, the clear highlight and front runner at Jimmy Dean's is Orange Bang! I'm a huge orange cream guy, and Orange Bang! is a non-carbonated orange drink that is whipped as it is dispensed into your cup, giving it a creamy feel as it goes down. Many a times I would grab a large Orange Bang! with no ice, put it in my fridge, and polish it off through the next few days. It's not a Jimmy Dean's exclusive product, but this is the only place that carries it that I knew of, and the other business followed.

Kim Cameron, Valencia, CA Really disappointed with my experience this morning. I got to Jimmy Dean's just before noon. It was packed, so I knew there would be a wait. I ended up waiting about 15 minutes. No big deal. I expected that. But when this girl (the employee) calls out my order number, I hear her talking to another customer who had just barely placed her order. This other girl ordered the same exact thing as I did, and she just about grabbed the bag until I finally made it to the counter and said, "wait, that's not hers. I'm 323". I handed the employee my receipt and apologized to the customer, stating that I was sorry but that I had been waiting for quite some time. The employee just looked at me. She said nothing to me or the other customer. She handed me the bag, but that was still it. Silence. Ummmm, how about, "sorry for the wait", "sorry I almost gave your order away", anything??? I thought to myself, "No big deal. Just let it slide"'. I then said, "thank you", but the girl employee just ignored me. No "your welcome", no "thank you", no "have a nice day", no nothing. So rude! So... I said "your welcome" sarcastically and walked out. Terrible service!!! A simple smile and a few words would have made the experience OK, but this employee couldn't be bothered with being nice or friendly, AND she almost gave my order away! :( She obviously loves her job! NOTE: I'd rate this place a 5/5 for their breakfast burritos (they are sooooo fantastic!!), and I love their burgers, but not after this morning... Not worth being treated like you are the scum of the planet!

still best breakfast burritos ever! ALWAYS GOING TO GO TO THIS JIMMY DEAN'S! never again will i ever go to the one in Valencia, the breakfast burritos at the Valencia location suck in flavor and in size, and also the Valencia JD gave me food poisoning and that was the 1st and last time I will be going there. Newhall Jimmy Dean's....you rule! Keep up the good work! You will always be my favorite and you have never let me down with your breakfast burritos!! At least out all the 29 times I've been here so far I've never gotten food poisoning unlike the Valencia location.

I am a Vegetarian and I recently went here to get a breakfast burrito with just eggs, hash browns, and cheese. I got home and started to eat my burrito when I noticed a piece of bacon in it. So I opened it up and the whole inside of my VEGETARIAN burrito was littered with sausage and bacon debris. I called them and told them what was going on and they said to come back and they would make me another burrito for free and they would make sure there was no meat in it. So I went back the next day and the manager had one made for me and when he gave it to me her very rudely said "That was not meat you saw in the burrito it was just little pieces of burnt hash browns." now this irritated me because in my opinion in other words he pretty much said "You're stupid and you don't know what you are talking about it wasn't meat.", when in fact is was meat. I am not stupid, I am a Vegetarian, I think I know what meat looks like. Anyway, other than that everything at Jimmy Deans is great and that is really the only bad experience I have ever had here. I love the fried zucchini. Update: I went here again recently and had the SAME issue. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and specifically told them that last time I ordered a vegetarian burrito there was bits of meat in it and that I wanted to make sure this wasn't going to happen again. Well I got my burrito and guess what, there was bits of sausage and bacon in it. So I went up to the counter to complain and they said they would make me a new burrito. So after I got my new burrito I was sitting down to eat it and the manager came over to me and apologized for what happened and said he heard me ask for no meat and was very sorry that they messed up and he gave me a $5 gift certificate to make up for it. So I guess the manager isn't so rude after all, maybe he was just having a bad day before, but the cooks need to be more careful. And for all vegetarians, check your burrito before you eat it!

High school wouldn't have been the same for me if it wasn't for Jimmy Dean's. My friends from Hart High and I used to come to this place all the time instead of going to class. It wasn't because we were seeking some means of rebelling or because we wanted to fight against the system. It's just that...their breakfast burritos were just that good. Give me a Jimmy Dean's Breakfast Burrito with a side of ranch and I'll ditch any class any day of the week. The BB is a masterful combination of eggs, cheese, hashbrowns, bacon, and CHILI, all thrown together within a huge flour tortilla. However, it is honestly nothing without the ranch dressing that is an automatic requisite when ordering the Jimmy Dean Breakfast Burrito. Shamefully...I have yet to finish one of these mammoth beasts of a burrito. But I hold my head high knowing that even if I don't finish it...that just means more leftovers for me to take and eat when I get hungry again...20-some hours later (bc I'd still be full from the same burrito!)

Some of the best food in the valley! Great sandwiches, burgers and fries! By far the best breakfast burrito I have ever had! Would be 5 stars but the drive thru can get really really really slow when it's busy

I went here for breakfast this weekend before helping my dad move and had a breakfast burrito. It was so freaking good! So good in fact I went back there for dinner. They have a friendly staff, good food, and good service. The place is clean to. I would definitely recommend them!

I love Jimmy Deans. It is my family's go-to place whenever we want to go get something quick. Everything on the menu is great! The have a huge selection so there is always something for everyone. A bonus for me is they have pellet ice, which is the best ice ever! This place is the best! Get the onion rings with whatever you buy, you won't regret it!

The burgers at this joint are some of the most incredible I've had. They always come out fresh and delicious. Breakfast burritos? The best breakfast burrito this side of Tarzana. (okay, I couldn't think of an eastern city.) Love this restaurant but the old man at the counter is never pleasant.

I was immediately put off by the decor and poorly designed drive-thru. It's a parking lot nightmare at lunch time. But as was suggested to me by a friend, I tried the chicken sandwich and...... WOW. It was really good. They have a really extensive menu. I wish they would upgrade their appearance.

My breakfast burrito was a religious experience. Delicious chili, hash browns, cheese, and chopped bacon wrapped around a thin egg layer wrapped in a grilled tortilla. All for $6.

I love Jimmy Deans! It's the best fast food spot because everything is cooked when you order it and tastes great. Also, their menu is so big that everyone will find something to eat. My favorites are the pastrami sandwich, fried zucchini, club sandwich, chili cheese fries, and of course the breakfast burrito. Their regular fries are really good too, because they're seasoned. Oh, and always ask for ranch!

My wife and I have always gone to Canters Deli (here and in Las Vegas) for the Rueben until we tried Jimmy Dean's. For the quality, quantity, and price, the Rueben at Jimmy Dean stacks up pretty good to the one at Canters. I cannot say anything about the inside because we have ordered the Rueben as a take out. Everytime we visit our friends, we make sure we stop at Jimmy Deans's for the Rueben. We have not tried anything else either, so no comments there!! Overall, good deal and deserves a solid 5.

After hearing the reviews about a killer breakfast buritto, this place seemed the cure to my post-bachelorette party hangover. My loving boy helped peel me out of bed and we headed down the street for the hang over cure. We ordered and the food came out quickly. I was so stoked to get my nom on. But alas, it was not was I was expecting. It was PACKED full of hash browns. But no, not the delicious crunchy bits of goodness, but mushed mash potato kind. Between the tortilla and over load of mushy potatoes, I found this burrito too texturally challenging, but it wasn't just because I was hungover, it was really not good. I ended up picking apart the burrito and eating the little bits of bacon that I found upon my inspection of the burrito corpse. Upon my dissection, I noticed that the eggs were super flat...almost crepe like. Weird and not appetizing. Good thing my Sprite was yummy...good ole' fountain soda. I'm glad I can depend on you to cure my over indulgence of champagne and cheap vodka.

Worst drive thru you can go through. Seriously way too slow. Over 15 mins to help ONE car. And when I got my food it was cold. VERY disappointed in this Jimmy Deans. I hate that I like their food cause I'd be glad to never eat here again. Service is TERRIBLE!!!

I want a breakfast burrito from here all day everyday! Best ever! You have to hold it with 2 hands & it's $6-$7!!

They have been here since the late 80's, so they are doing something right! I have only stuck to burgers here, so I cannot comment about other menu items. They offer an extensive menu of all sorts of things. Had their charbroiled burger, which was wonderful. They actually cook it by hand and even did it to a perfect medium rare at my request. Many other burger places will only cook to medium well. Their onion rings are the best. They are hand breaded, and the bag is huge. Major bummer is they are cash only. Had to scrape change from the ash tray to pay the bill.

The ONLY reason this dirty place gets a 5 is due to their delicious breakfast burritos. Grab a spot in the drive-thru because you dont want to deal with all the high school kids (trust me, i use to be one of those diners), and bare through the agony of the extremely rude girl at the window....and ten minutes later you are eating heaven in your car. ps. get ranch dressing. its a must. and if you cant take the size( it is large and in charge) they do have a small kids size. this is one of my only reasons to go back to Valencia. well worth the trip.......once in a while.

Breakfast burritos are pretty good. They are not Cottage Corner-Burbank great but they are good. If you ever had those Cottage Corner burritos you will know what I'm talking about. The Charbroiled Burgers are pretty bomb. The Chicken Sandwich was also very good. Overall the food is fresh and cooked to order.

Had the jimmy deans healthy breakfast that came with 5 egg whites, charbroiled chicken, and tomato slices. Egg whites were cooked perfectly. Chicken was nicely cooked with good char and was moist, not dry. Portion was big for a good price. Wish the place was closer to my house because it would be a regular breakfast spot.

I love this place. Anything you want, any time of day. The pastrami, burritos, and anything with chilli is amazing. Brings back memories of jumping the fence at Hart High and getting a breakfast burrito.

Mr. Dean's has such a crazy extensive menu it's ridiculous. If I were ever umm playing with puff the magic dragon and came here my head would for sure fizzle then POP. Fajitas at a fast food joint? Shenanigans! My buddy who grew up in the SCV took me here for the first time a few months ago. He swore the breakfast burritos to die for - literally. These things are loaded, ready to kill, and oh so effin delicious. Drizzle some of the best tasting ranch dressing ever and you've got a fiesta in yo' mouth! I'm a burger connoisseur so I can't wait to get my paws on some of that. Once I do this review will definitely be updated. But in the meantime I'll have to clear my ranch and bacon grease filled arteries.

I found this place today while looking for another place. I ordered a double-bacon cheeseburger and an Iced Tea. The lady behind the counter smiled, and apologetically said that they didn't take credit cards, only cash. She pointed to an ATM and I started to get money out of it, the fee was 1.50 for ATM use. I thought to myself, "F this, I'm goin to CVS down the road." So I left, and went to CVS down the road, bought a diet lime soda and got 10 bucks back. What would have been an ATM fee got me a soda. I returned to Jimmy Deans and re-ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and small fries. It was almost 9 dollars. When I got the burger I brought it back to a table. The burger was pretty good, the fries were good. But the no credit card thing ticked me off. The other downside is the parking lot is kinda tight. So, make sure you bring your compact car and your cash, and go have a pretty good burger. Maybe I'll try their breakfast stuff next time. Assuming I remember the cash.

This food is great. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Breakfast Burritos, bacon cheeseburgers, Bbq chicken sandwiches, and fries wither their awesome ranch are my favorites. A little expensive and cash only are the only negatives and the reason for my four star rating.

Really tasty pastrami sandwich. Good variety to choose from on the menu. Definitely going back to try some thing else

Everything here is good. Onion rings and zucchini sticks are hand-breaded. Huge portions and good quality ingredients. It is NOT greasy, the restaurant is NOT dirty, and who gives a FUCK if there are latino workers??? You disgusting rubes just don't get it.

One star is generous. Easily the worst burger I've ever had in my entire life. Jimmy Dean would roll over in his grave.

Perhaps the last of the real charbroiled burgers left in the SCV, Jimmy Deans took me back to the restaurants of the distant past that served the myriad of all things fried and clogging. I remember coming here 8 years ago and enjoying, of all things, a burrito and it was really good. Coming back recently, I had a burger meal that really evoked that nostalgic feeling of the great decade: the 90's. Everything was very fulfilling and... hmm... what's the word... yummy. Descriptively elementary, but they did everything simple and delicious. The fries were crispy, burgers juicy, and portions more than generous. At times, I find myself hankering for that all-American burger and I can't think of anyone better than Jimmy Dean to fulfill that need. Sometimes, I feel sorry for those spending three times as much thinking they're getting a good burger at Island's .

Service is okay. Food, especially breakfast can be great, but the real magic is the place itself. It is a perfectly preserved fast food joint from the 1980s. Worth the trip to have a shake and just look around.

I really don't see how having Hispanic employees have anything to do with the quality of this place. Yes there are a lot of Hispanic employees but this place isn't run by Hispanics only and if it were...who cares? Anyways...I do like the food here. It is very good. They have menu items that fast food places normally don't and they taste pretty darn delicious. I love their ranch and blue cheese dressing. The inside of the restaurant is always clean and my kids like playing with the toy vending machines. What I don't like about the place is the prices and the fact that they only accept cash. It seems crazy to me that any business in this day and age doesn't take debit or credit cards. I have actually wanted to go eat here but went somewhere else because I didn't want to get cash out of the ATM. Their prices are a little high plus their menu is so inaccurate that you never get charged the menu price. it drives me insane. I hate having to question why my food cost more than what the menu says and then getting an answer that doesn't make sense. It feels like you are getting cheated. I don't see why it is so hard to charge the posted price? If you want above average fast food then go ahead and give it a shot, try the BLT it is amazing!

As one of the founding members of the BBC (Breakfast Burrito Club) I find it sad that I can only give Jimmy Dean's 5 stars. The Side of Ranch itself can get 5 stars. Webster's Dictionary has a picture of the Jimmy Dean's Breakfast Burrito right next to the word heaven. This burrito was so clutch and got me through so many morning classes and saturday morning film sessions that I will never be able to repay the debt. These 5 stars are for you Mr. Breakfast Burrito...w/o chili for me of course.

After a day at Castaic went to Jimmy Dean's for charbroiled chicken sandwiches. This place has chicken, burgers, Mexican food, steak sandwiches and much more. Something for everyone. It's a fast food joint with excellent fresh cooked food. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely go back, Jimmy Dean has very good eats.

Growing up in Torrance we had charbroilers out the ass - Jerry's, Steve's, Astro, Golden Ox, Brolly Hut, and the all-time universal king of the lot - Y Not. This Santa Clarita charbroiler is decent, with a nice sizeable menu that covers everything you'd expect. The burgers are drowning in lettuce and bun, but lacking in sauce. If they switched to ketchup relish in large amounts they'd have a homerun. Burritos are HUGE, simple and awesome. I love taquitos, and theirs aren't exemplary but they fit the bill. Big ass servings of big gushy fries. $5-$10 per person. Average overall but a nice taste of High School on occasion. 3 stars.

i have eaten here since i went to high school way back in 1990!! i recently went back last year and the food is still great and affordable! It suffered the wrath of immigration and there was only 1 non-latino working in the whole joint, but besides that, the burger rock and the fries kick ass!!!

I have gone to Jimmy Dean's since I was lil bbkins. Other than it being located in the god forsaken Awesometown, it is an amazing fast food restaurant. They have a wide variety of options making it easy to bring the whole family here. I would definitely recommend their turkey burger and fried zucchini...yum. I've also heard great things about their breakfast burrito. Although the line can be a little slow sometimes they are usually pretty friendly by the time you reach the window. My one quam with the Dean's is that they charge extra for ranch. Come on! Their prices are reasonable but lets not push it. Other than that Jimmy Dean's is a great find.

I eat there all the time. The breakfast sandwich is excellent as are other breakfast menu items. The pastrami sandwich and burgers are great. They have crushed ice for the drinks and refills. I have a difficult time passing by without stopping. Did I mention they have real thick shakes? The workers are friendly and really try hard to please. I don't recall having them give me a wrong order ever. The chicken salad will feed a family of four.
