High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

1 star is one star too many for this disaster of a restaurant. The service is HORRIBLE. Their idea of medium rare is burnt to a crisp. Stay as far away from this establishment as you can get. I wouldn't eat here again if they paid me!!

Stopped by here for a quick beer before heading home..... decent atmosphere, reasonable drink prices. Jessica behind the bar was nice. Need to stop by and try the food.

Food is decent, but far from exciting. Service here, while not horrible, is not good. Always takes a long time, and once the order is taken, never see our server until they bring the check (someone else brings out the food). The one in Temecula is much better and actually worth the drive.

Another one bites the dust. We went in after taking the kids to Mulligan's next door with another family and I am sad to say I don't think I will be back anytime soon. I don't know what happened since my last visit but they have really gone downhill. The waitress was nice and friendly but that is about where it ends. Food took forever to come out and with small kids...that is pure hell. The food itself was sub par when we did get it. My salad was good, as well my wife's french onion soup. The spinach dip was watery and runny, not creamy. We had the steak and shrimp fajitas. No sizzling on arrival but hey weren't cold...can you say heat lamp anyone? Tasted like it too. The whole experience was over an hour and a half and that was after we had already pre-read the menus and ordered right when we sat down. You also cant bring two kids their meals and forget the other one's. You though waiting for food was bad? Wait until everyone but one child has their food...frustrating. Sigh...back to calling it Crapplebee's...

A restaurant with no accountability and lack of responsibility. Came in around 8:00 pm on a sunday night, place was really empty. Had my family there and there was 13 of us. I understand that setting up tables might take awhile but waiting 30-45 minutes to be seated is rather long, specially when we were seated, there was only 3 other tables that had customers. There was no apology for the wait. When we got seated in a section where there was free-standing tables, so we figured thats why the wait was soo long, we had to wait for customers to leave. But we saw on the other side of the place was a whole section of free-standing tables that was completely empty. The waiter took our drink order and came pretty quick with them. Something we expected for waiting soo long and because of the fact that the entire restaurant was practically empty. Once the drinks came, the waiter took our order. The appetizer came pretty quick, but after that was all downhill. About 20 minutes later, we asked another waitress about our food, and she said she will check on it for us. She never came back with an answer. Our drinks we never topped off unless we asked. After our waiter dropped off the appetizer, he pretty much never came back. So 10 more minutes passed by, and still no food. We keep looking around and our waiter was no were to be found, keep in mind that our waiter was tending to only one other table. We never got an apology for waiting another 45mintues for our food. The food was warm, but everything was on the salty side. The food prep was sloppy, and seemed a bit rushed when put together. When the waiter brought the side of fruit for my 2 year old nephew. After my nephew ate a few pieces of fruit, there was something else that it came with dish. It looked like old melted cheese with the consistency of syrup, but smelling it and looking at it, we all knew it wasn't cheese. When my brother-in-law showed it to the waiter, he didn't apologize for it, rather he said "they give me the food, i just bring it out." So he asked for the manager. When the manager came, she didn't apologize for having served us that dish, rather she came and went back to the kitchen. When she came back, she got my brother-in-law's attention and tried to call him over near the ktichen... that was kind of rude. So my brother-in-law told her to come to our table. The manager explained that the girl who preps the food already left the night. It seemed like the girl who preps the food just took an old, already used dish and tossed the fruit in it so she can get off work. I thank her for potentially poisoning my nephew. The only plus side to our visit to this Applebee's is that the manager comped our entire meal.

Maybe I just had a bad experience as I ordered a vegetarian burger. The appetizers were good but the entrees turned out pretty bad. My friend had the rib basket and that didn't look any better.

Well I heard about the dine for two special. You get an appetizer and two meals for two. Started off with the chips and spinach dip. The chips were really greasy and the dip was too. I cant remember what I had for dinner but I'm sure it was okay. Its very similar to Chilli's, which I am not a big fan of. I don't think I will be going back. The service was fine, and the decor was pretty cool, it had tons of posters and pictures of various movie stars all over the walls.

About 6 months ago we went to chili's up the street and they had just put in their new table side ordering system. Needless to say the service was horrible. I've never been a fan of Applebee's but my wife wanted to try their new churro smore desert. When we walked in, we were seated at the bar. I saw those same little tablet ordering systems and figured it would be a rough night. I was never happier to be wrong. James, who was covering the bar area, did a fantastic job. Not only was his service great, but his suggestions were great as well. At the end of the meal we ordered the smores desert and were pretty unimpressed. He brought us out another icing/dipping sauce that was for another desert which really killed it. Like I said earlier, I never was a big fan of the food here. To me it always seemed over priced and never really delivered on the description in the menu. Tonight really changed my opinion. My wife and I shared a pick two appetizer. We got the pretzel with beer cheese sauce and the pulled pork nachos. I would definitely go back just for the pretzel appetizer. It was delicious. The pulled pork was more like a carnitas, but was really good as well. I ended up finishing every last bite on that plate. I ended up with the chicken finger basket and my wife ordered the shrimp pasta. Both dishes far exceeded both of our expectations. Overall I give the appetizers 5/5, entrees 4.5/5, desert 3/5. The thing that made this a 5 star review was the service. (We did go in at 9:00 pm on Sunday) If you haven't given applebees a chance in a while, I highly suggest giving this location another try.

Went Friday night with my niece. Hostess was very nice. Our waiter was nice too but he was also the bartender so he only came to our table, ONCE. The guy that was helping him out was very rude, he would throw our food onto the table, wouldn't even ask how we were doing. I let the manager know about our waiter never coming to our table and he just smiled at me like he didn't understand what I was saying. So strange. Food was mediocre. I got the ribs and hey were burned and not tasty at all. My niece got a pasta, that was cold. Same with our appetizer, that was cold also. Will never be coming again.

Good hamburgers for dinner and very good service by Lynette. The burgers were as ordered, juicy and seasoned just right. Endless fries but we were full with the burgers themselves. They have a new at table computer pads for gaming, ordering, paying and calling server, we wee intrigued but didn't use it. Next time.

This is my usual stop for some drinks and food after a trip to the nail salon. Every time, I'm greeted immediately, always seated immediately and have always had a positive experience with all the staff. The recommendations from the servers are appreciated and provide me with something new to try each time I visit. Both drinks and food have always been served promptly as well. Always leaving a full and happy customer.

Came here earlier for lunch with my boyfriend. Upon entering we were promptly seated and waited on. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp pasta and I ordered fettuccine with chicken. Our food came out not too long afterwards and we enjoyed our dishes. Good food and service, would return.

First time going to this Applebee's and it was great. Looks like it was newly decorated compared to some others we've been to. Had great service and everything came out fast. We love Applebee's and will def be coming back to this location.

Horrible service. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed; I felt bad. They were definitely understaffed and it showed. Our food was cold and our orders were wrong. They charged us $6 for shrimp on our pasta and did not tell us. It was just a bad dining experience overall.

Location: On the west side of the 215 Next to Chick Fil A off of Cal Oaks. Parking: More than enough spots to go around. All not too far from the front door, even a row right in front, makes you feel like V.I.P. Ambiance: Walk in through the double doors and you can continue forward to the bar area ( which I did ) and sit at the bar, in a selection of high standing tables or the booths that line the walls. There are TVs all around showing various sporting events. I was able to catch the Laker Game and the start of UCLA v Stanford game. There were an array of other visitors from different backgrounds. ( families, older couples, a group of 8 in the corner booth ) Everyone able to have a good meal and enjoy their visit. Service: We were greeted fairly quickly but only to be reminded that happy hour was over in 11 minutes, so we proceeded to order water ( which we didn't receive for 20 minutes ) and had to wave the waitress down before the 6P deadline for happy hour. Checked on us twice once to fill water and a second to provide check and boxes for the take away. Meal: We ordered Potato Twisters, Classic Buffalo & Hot Buffalo Boneless Wings to share between my cousin and I and his girlfriend got one of their salads. The Potato Twister are kettle chips with a cheese dipping sauce on the side, our order was a little over cooked and slightly took away from the flavor. The classic buffalo wings were great. The order of Hot was over cooked and too dry for our liking to finish. The salad was finished quickly but was still given a 3 out of 5 stars review when asked. It most definitely wasn't a horrible visit, but just missed a few key points, that someone like myself looks for. I used to work in the food industry both in service and in food preparation. I might be back and I hope its able to bump up a star or two the next time around.

Pretty good. Service is always good and I get the chicken fajita roll up. The sauce is so good. I have always loved Applebee's and I'm a definite regular. Great happy hour also.

This is now my neighborhood Applebee's, the one in Temecula was my original. It's hard to adjust due to the fact that entering during happy hour I waited 25 to 30 min for a drink and received it the same time as the appetizers. My wife comments to me that this isn't a four star restaurant, but I replied All I want is just my damm drink today after dealing with traffic. Is that so hard, when I see the bartender mixing it up with her drinking groupies. Guess I have to switch to Chili's. .....I'm bummed.

I always receive great service here. The bad reviews are when they get real busy. If you don't like there food than that's by taste not quality of service or preparedness. The bartender I forget his name and the girl also both make some pretty damn good drinks. I went in the next morning after a long night if ya know what I mean ,picked up my ride , and decided hey I should get a bloody Mary. He made it to a "T" it tasted delicious and was worth every penny. Don't let the bad reviews dissuade you from coming here. Every business is not perfect!

The service was slow, we already finished our appetizer and our main dish was taking so long, when the main dish came to our table it wasn't warm. We ended up taking our food home. I highly recommeded "Chili's Restaurant in Murrieta" the people are awesome, fast service and the foods are perfect.

Laura is really good waitress. Super nice and friendly even apologized for the drunk douche my word not hers. My mom and I were sitting in the bar having lunch then this drunk douche comes in and sits down and drinking and every other word is a cuss word f this f that...kinda ruined our dinning experience.

Well it's my first time here, ever.. Service is realllllly really slow! Ordered our drinks & food.. we got our side salads first then 10 mins later got our drinks.. Hmm.. then, got our food like 25 mins after that.. food was ok, I got the chicken pene pasta & that's was cold. Didn't want to send it back bc that would take forever.. My glass has been empty for 10 mins, the server didn't ask me if I want a refill or anything.. but asked the person next to us if they wanted a refill.. ugh.. it's not even busy.. Not coming back..

Interesting that my review seems to have been deleted. Anyway: Came here on 01/3/15 at about midnight. We were refused a seat in the dining area and was forced to sit in the bar. Even tho' we asked if we could sit in the dining area ~ 5 feet away from the bar. NOPE! HAD to sit in the loud bar with the drinkers and drunks and the SUCKY bartender/server. When a sever comes to take my order but doesn't write anything down I am assured that my order is NOT going to come to me the way I ordered it. And Blondie Chick Server/Bartender/Dingleberry did NOT let me down. I have a tip for Miss Blondie ~ WRITE DOWN ORDERS and DONT BITCH ABOUT WHAT PEOPLE TIP YOU!! I couldn't believe when this chick started griping about a table leaving her 36 cents. She said she just wanted them GONE. HUH??? You're really discussing this in front of the customers?? I know half of them were drunk but the other half wasn't. I was incredibly EMBARRASSED for you Blondie. There's a reason you got a crappy tip. You SUCK at serving. And your weak "I'm sorry" for the order YOU messed up wasn't appreciated. You should have charged us for the ribletts only and not the dinner plate since you couldn't let the cook know how we wanted our food. It's not rocket science. WRITE ORDERS DOWN. And DONT discuss your tips or lack of tips in front of the customers that are going to tip you (or in our case: NOT going to tip you for the crap service you give) I think that I will just stick with Denny's for my late night outings for food. At least they're relatively consistant and don't force people with handicapps to sit in uncomfortable areas.

No vegetarian options other than grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup... Okay... Not sure why a grilled cheese and soup is 8 bucks. Also not sure why the soup tasted like watered down ketchup. Mango iced tea? How many ways can I say ICK without sounding like a broken record. Redeeming qualities? Not sure.

I really hate to rate this place 2 stars, our waitress was very pleasant and prompt. It was obvious the shift manager actually cares about how people are being taken care of and knew that it was his job to help his waitstaff succeed by lending a hand when they needed it. For this I give the crew a full 5 stars. The kitchen needs help, my son's food was fine but both my wife's food and mine were cooked in a fryer (shrimp and fish) that was way too hot. The outside was almost brown on my fish and my wife's shrimp were a dark brown. I don't know about my wife's shrimp but my fish was way too greasy and felt heavy after eating. We both started feeling ill grocery shopping later, and I was feeling nauseous by the time I got home. Within 15 minutes I threw up. Maybe it's the combination of the heat to day greasy or oily fried fish and my running around but the fact remains I did get sick. A very impressive feat considering I've eaten food all over the world from places all over the world and this is only the second time it's happened. First time was also in the U.S. but that's not the point. We've eaten at this particular location many many times and I wouldn't go as far as a 5 star rating in the past but a very solid 4. I'm hoping this was an isolated incident because the staff are great and the service is usually very good.

This is probably one of the worst, well it is the worst, Applebee's that I've been to. Our server was grumpy and she had an attitude and it took FOREVERRRRR to get our appetizers, never mind our food. It just didn't have a fun, upbeat atmosphere that Applebee's restaurants normally have and the service was just not even up to par. I would definitely not go here again.

Applebee's is as American as In and Out, football, and beer! Great service, good food, and beer. Today I ordered to go a Bourbon Steak and Shrimp platter on the 2 for $24.00 menu and it filled me up nicely. As I waited I decided to pass the time with a nutritious and delicious Shocktop Hefeweizen and talked to the Bartender and another patron about Europe and cars. Back to the point: Murietta Applebee's is a good choice and I occasionally go here when I want ribs or steak in smaller portions at a decent price. Try them you will like it!

I love Applebee's in Murrieta! I have to say it is THE BEST Applebee's around! They greet you at the door, seat you and serve you with class! The perfect Margarita is the bomb! I ordered the spinach salad with shrimp and bacon vinegar salad dressing!!! So wonderful! They excel in customer service and great food!!!!

Honestly, I can never say I've enjoyed a meal at an Applebees. But it's been years since I've been to one and my mom wanted one of their salads so our whole family came to this location. This had to be one of the most pathetic dining experiences i've ever had, and I don't say that lightly because I've been in the food/beverage industry for 7 years now. We came in and our party of 5 were seated promptly. It was about a good 10 minutes (no exaggeration) before we were greeted. When we were greeted, the server came over to tell us he'd be right back to take our drink order. 10 more minutes later he came back, and it took another 5 minutes to get those drinks. So we've been sitting at our table for 25 minutes before the drinks were dropped off (incorrectly might I add). We ordered two appetizers and those took 25 minutes to come out. I was pretty over it at this point, and we had finished the appetizers before he took our entree orders. I ordered a steak with shrimp, medium. This came out very very well done, and super TOUGH. Honestly it wasn't worth the calories, but I didn't want to wait any longer to eat as I was starving at this point, so I didn't send it back. But I don't understand how a kitchen that puts out hundreds of steaks each week can't seem to figure out the right amount of time to cook a steak to a certain temperature. Its a joke!! Why even bother to ask me how I'd like it! The servers were very nice, but we only saw our server about 3-4 times over a TWO HOUR meal (which shouldn't have been that long in the first place). I honestly couldn't even tell you our servers name thats how unpresent and unmemorable he was. There were one or two other servers that dropped off the food and helped us with small requests (A1 and extra napkins). I felt that the staff was a little unprofessional, one waitress referred to a customer at another table as "the guy in the white shirt" right in front of him when telling another waitress where to drop the entree. And when we asked another waitress if we could place an order to go, because our own server was nowhere to be seen, she said that we could place it with our server when he came back and she walked away. Now I don't blame all of this on the service staff, the restaurant was completely understaffed and every server in the vicinity was running around super busy. They were all working as hard as they could! I think the problem lies with management in understaffing this restaurant and having a SLOW kitchen! A manager stopped by at the end, but the least she could have done was rolled up her sleeves and been helping these employees! Where was she this whole time?! Nobody even acknowledged how long the food and service had taken, 25 minutes for an appetizer is ridiculous and it should have been taken off the bill without us having to say anything (which we didn't)! They really need to figure this out because right now Applebees couldn't have a worse reputation in my mind.

The first moment I walked in I noticed the wonderful aroma. Good food, service and atmosphere. I had cedar salmon with spring veggies and red potatoes. Very tasty and just the right portion. Alyssa was a sweet hostess and made sure I was well taken care of. I will make my way back here soon!

Went for lunch with my stepmom and sister in law about a week ago. Our waitress was great and attentive. The food tasted great as always. The only problem was the sharp two inch PACKING STAPLE from the box the salad is packaged in that my sister in law pulled out of her mouth after a bite of her salad. Luckily she only had a little cut on her gums but it could have been much worse! Especially considering she was sharing her plate with my 1 year old nephew. We very nicely let management know and he did take her meal off the bill. I still feel like he could have showed more remorse....

Hadn't been here in years but....Heard there was new management so I brought my mother to lunch. Service was extremely friendly and prompt. Food was delicious and they have $4.50 pints of beer all day everyday. Really great improvement! I deducted a star because they forgot about us at the end and it took awhile to get the bill.

Happy hour is amazing yes, but the service sucked. By the time she brought my ranch my wings were cold. I came with my family and they sat us in cocktail. We did not ask for that. Due to graduations they were not letting anyone sit in the dining room I'm guessing. But overall food was great just the service really sucked. She forgot everything!! But i will return for happy hour their 5 dollar long islands... You can't go wrong!!

This restaurant used to be one of our family favorites, but since the change of manager and remodel the place has gone down fast. First the service went to he--, then the quality of food took a dump. We tried going there a few more times and the results were the same. My in-laws went back last friday and after a two hour wait most of their meal was almost inedible. Sorry cause we liked this place. It will be a long time before we give this one a try again. Move on to P. F. Changs (or Pei Wei, both owned by the same co.). Sorry Applebees.

I gave 3 stars because waiter was cool but the rib let's were nasty like heated up than smothered in bbq sauce um seats were old feeling we waited for like 35 min for our food to be done our chicken appetizers were just smothered in wing sauce nothing over the top here my first time at Applebee's I won't be returning

I hate to leave a negative review because our food was really tasty, and the staff was very friendly. However.... the service was so S-L-O-W. Another reviewer stated that the slowness is only when they are busy. Not true. We were only a party of 2 on a weekday, and we showed up at 11:00am when they open. There was only one other couple in the restaurant. It took over 5 minutes for our server to arrive just to take our drink order. Then it was an additional 10 minutes before we got our drinks--and we had only ordered water! We ordered an appetizer, but that took an additional 15 minutes. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to slap tortilla chips on a plate??? By the time we got our entrees, it had been 45 minutes since placing the order. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry, but when there's hardly any customers and it's lunchtime, there's really no excuse to be that slow. I can't imagine anyone going there during lunch hour from work because they would definitely be late returning. We did really like our food, but DO NOT go there if you have anywhere else you need to be afterwards.

Applebee's for me has always been one of those places I could take it or leave it depending on my mood at the time. Applebee's in general will fair a maximum of three starts from me, but this particular Applebee's here in Murrieta, no way! The food has gone down hill in the last few years. Depending on who is working and/or who your server is, the service will be excellent to downright poor. One server in particular (forgot her name), she's an older lady (settle down, she's not THAT old), works as server and manager duties. Well, this server busts her ass, she's extremely polite and always right there if you need anything. Problem is, if she's not working or she's busy doing other things, your server will be a hit or miss from good to just ok. It's during those times we sit and wait what seems like forever just to get our drinks. Appetizer? Main course? You got time to waste? If the place is super crazy busy, I understand. But c'mon...when there's more people sitting at the bar than the tables? There's a problem. Every once in awhile, a manger will come by and ask "how are things?" I like that. Again, problem is, they are not around when there is a problem. My gripes are these: The servers themselves are usually nice, but getting served is the issue here. Nobody should have to wait for a long time, especially when the place isn't all that busy. If you're shorthanded, I get that. Things happen. It would be nice if you would acknowledge the customer. Like, "Good afternoon. I'm sorry, but we're a little shorthanded here today. Let me start you off with drinks and I'll get somebody right out." Done. You let the customer know you see them, you acknowledge them, let them know what's going on and I bet they will be appreciative. There are other places to go to if you're hungry. If you're in it for the Happy Hour, this place isn't too bad.

I have not been to an Applebee's in years and I was very surprised to see how clean and modern this location is. Seriously I could still smell the new carpet that was installed over the past weekend. The food may still be corporate but what I really like is that this place is open later. Most restaurants in the Temecula Valley area close around 9pm, but here food is served until 10pm and the bar closes a little later after that.

Our fifth time to visit this location... and I will still give them the 5-stars. First visit, a business associate invited for lunch meeting - service was professional, servers were smiling, food came out on time. Second visit - my husband's birthday surprise dinner. Same service - personable staff, professional servers, awesome timing of food served. Third visit: my birthday - I ordered my GG Martini - and it was spot on. Not too watery, not too thick with alcohol. Just right. Servers followed up, still smiling as always. Fourth visit: very late night at work, most restaurants were closed. We checked out Applebees - still open at 10:30pm - servers were still smiling, though I could see they're exhausted. We were seated, and waited on just like during normal hours - staff did not hurry us out, did not show annoyance or impatience. We were able to finish our meal very satisfied. Fifth visit: the last server we met on our fourth visit remembered us - to the "T" - he commented, "no class tonight?" First off - the welcome staff (greeter) was very friendly. She was able to communicate well that we had a 10-minute wait for the next available table. We were seated by another friendly server, before the other server (who remembered us) came in to take our order. This visit - I requested the server to have kitchen customize my meal - not found in the menu... THEY DID... I will give them 10 STARS, if I could. I never had any bad experience in this Applebees location, so far. By the way - all visits with exception to the fourth... we arrived to a full-house. I understand human nature when tasks get overwhelming --- I will not fault momentary lapse of service quality; I will not also judge based on a one-time experience. I am a regular customer. Overall, this location has one of the best management and personnel. Just like any other businesses, if you give someone an attitude, you will receive the same exact treatment... or at least, from your own perspective.

It is Applebees, so there really isn't much I can say about the food. The five stars are specifically for the staff.. They are always friendly and very accommodating. I've only really sat in the bar, or at bar tables. This is usually an appetizer and drinks kind of place for us.

Been here various time over the years, the big complaint was slow service, but the food was always good. We went for lunch today and were greeted at the door and shown to our seats very fast. The waitress came in less than one minute and took our drink order. We ordered off the lunch menu, portion were adequate. The price was reasonable $23 for two which included two soups and sandwiches, coffee and soft drink plus portion of fries. We'll be back.

Came in on a Sunday evening, they were not busy. After being seated and waiting 20 minutes to finally have a server say I will be with you soon and seeing several other employees standing around, we heard other patrons complaining their orders had not yet been taken either. We waited another 10 min to not have anyone even try to get our drink order much less our meal order. We finally left and nobody even asked why. Guess I know why Chilis up the street is always busy. Applebee's Temecula always great service, Applebee's Murrieta we will not be back you have lost a customer and if your service stays like this I am sure you will lose many more.. Chilis has gained our business.

I always go to this Applebee's, but recently I feel like they're lacking on everything. The food isn't as good as it used to be, portions are much smaller, service was slow, food was cold when it was supposed to be warm, sauces were watery. When I recently went there they messed up on our order & a few other tables. They paid for it but still, not the way it should be. The servers are great with great attitudes, but they need to get everything back up.

Came for $5.00 martinis on Wednesday, got my lemon drop and it was lemonade. No joke. I told the waiter that I wanted to just buy a regular martini at full price because the cheap one didn't have alcohol and he laughed and pretty much told me that they deliberately put less alcohol in the discounted ones. The reason I bought a stupid martini in the first place was because of their promotion. If I had known I was being given a sub-par product, I would have not wasted 5 bucks on a lemonade and just gone for the real deal. Round two of the Lemondrop Martini. The waiter "sweet talked" the bartender into making me a good martini (uh, one WITH alcohol this time) and muttered something about their new lemon syrup which masks the flavor of the alcohol. I'm 95 pounds. One sip of vodka and I'm loopy. I wasn't buying it, but hey, I got another martini that was something to speak of. The food choices were pretty unoriginal and not too exciting. I won't waste much time here. Overall, IFFY. I wouldn't come back.

Honestly horrible. Not worth the money. Ghetto and gossipy hostesses. There was a total of nine standing around every time we looked up. Meals were brought out at different times within a fifteen minute period. Three out of seven meals were incorrect. This includes a salad that was supposed to have no meat for a vegetarian. The meat was pulled out and tossed on the side but they left several dime sized bits of chicken. All of the salads were lacking dressing. The cheese that came with the pretzel sticks was watery and slimy. Most displeasing was the margaritas. They were served in martini glasses with olives, which was bizarre enough, but they also had not salted one of the drinks and everyone agreed they had so little Patron it was impossible to taste it. We got lucky an had a great server, Micheal, who had a great disposition, despite taking the grunt of our complaints. Still none of us would go back when Red Robin is right next store and has a wonderful staff and flavorful menu.

Came here because my sister gave the hubs a gift card to this joint for his birthday. I actually got excited. I hadn't had Applebee's since my college days in oh, lets just say, the nineties, so it HAS been awhile. I was looking forward to their chicken fingers with their (in my memory) phenomenal honey mustard dipping sauce. YUM! Walked in, had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. No prob, it is 5 pm on a Friday night, place is bumpin. It is Murrieta after all! My kids by this time are fidgety and most likely their stomachs are eating away at its own lining as I purposely made sure they had no snacks before dinner. Get seated towards the front with every other geriatric patron in the restaurant where we're promptly given wary looks, sighs and even a bit of eye rolling here and there. Hey people, this is a family restaurant right?! So my kids do have a right to be here! Both the hubs and I get the fish (me, cajun lime tilapia; him garlic herb salmon). Babies get the chicken fingers (to be shared with Mommy of course) and a grilled cheese sandwich. Everything took about 30 minutes to drop at our table (too long for a wait) and was way over salted. Gross. I may as well have been drinking ocean water for dinner. My son's chicken tenders were overcooked on the outside and super dry on the inside. Daughter's grilled cheese was fine, but really how do you do that wrong. Thanks for the gift card sis, it was an almost free meal! But we won't be back here again.

Walked in and wasn't greeted until 5 minutes later. The bar was fairly packed but the dining room only had like 2 tables eating and the rest was empty. Finally we get greeted and before we even say anything she says "Dinner for 2? Ok this way we have no room left except for the bar follow me while i clean the table for you" Fuck that shit No hello, no sorry for the wait, not even asking for how many people we have. Im here looking for food, I'm not some slave you just toss in the corner where you feel convenient.

What can I say, its an Applebees. The food is the quality of McDonalds, but priced twice as high. It is a chain restaurant though, so I'll cut them some slack. Overall this place is a decent experience.

Ordered there a few weeks ago. Called ahead and "justin" answered the phone and began laughing.. Real professional! I hung up and called back and he decided then he would take my order. When we got home our appetizer sampler was missing the quesadillas! Worst service ever! Will not be returning

After my last few visits I just can't go back. We were refused a seat in the dining room and had to sit in the bar area ~ I guess the gal that doing the seating didn't care that I had a jacked up back ~ rules were rules for this chick and we were told we HAD to sit in the loud bar area. It was pretty uncomfortable for me. I didn't want to rock the boat for my party so I went along with it. All of our orders we asked for extra crispy fries...and what did we get? Pale fries that looked sickly. None of us touched the fries and since our bartender didn't come check on us until we were done eating we didn't mention the sickly fries until she came to take our plates. None of us send food back so I guess it doesn't matter that she never came to check on us. She was really busy with the big mouth drunks sitting at the bar. And BTW: Why would you tell your customers that you only got a 30 cent tip?? Anyway ~ from now on I plan to just go to Denny's for my late night eating. At least I'm not forced to sit in a loud bar area with the drunks and tall tables! lol I used to be a regular when I'm in town but my last two visits were not that great. The food is actually pretty good but the service is lacking. The waiter we got stuck with the last two visits isn't a good listener. And doesn't seem to get when a customer wants lemons. He brings a few but when you ask for a plate of lemons that means bring a lot. I don't care for having to beg for stuff ~ especially when I leave money at the end for all I asked you to do. And I am not a cheap tipper. This Applebee's allows me to eating in the dining room and still get the deals you usually can only get if you sit in the bar. Sitting at a high stool or booth is impossible for me so it's good that it's recognized not everyone can sit on those ridiculous chairs.

If you've seen one Applebee's, you've seen them all...except for when it comes to service. And Kari rocked it outta the park! She's one of the best waitresses I've ever seen. :) Even the manager came over to say hi & was very personable. Awesome service makes a world of difference. So here's to Kari & the manager. They were the shiznit. :)

This one was much better than the one two seconds away from my house in Temecula. Me and the hubby went here for a quick dinner. Our server, Dan, was attentive and did his best to be entertaining. I got a diet dish... Shrimp and noodles I think? He got the ranch chicken sandwich... lucky bastard. It was an average experience. Might go back to this location but NEVER the one in Temecula... Grumble grumble grumble....

Wow! i should have read the reviews b4 coming here with friends. GHETTO!! CRAP-O-LA! Ordered the 2-4-20 specials, and yes portions are reduced, service lacked, don't order water, they won't refill, service is better at In-n-Out then here, when they want you to leave the drop off the bill and don't come back to wait on you, go some where else...not here, sub par chain food/service

Applebee's has a friendly staff. They open the door for you when you get there and will talk to you about your day, or whatever else is on your mind. However, some servers can be forgetful. Occasionally, they will do the plate swap (Oops, that was "YOUR" plate.) when serving your food at the table. Another time they had gotten our order wrong, even when we clearly stated and pointed at what we wanted on the menu (which the waitress seemingly wrote down). They were good sports though. The manager came over and apologized, gave us complimentary salads and took 10% off the bill. That was well appreciated. Not a big deal to me anyway, there was no hurry. Today, I ordered a rum and coke with my food. It tasted a little off. Watered-down if you will. It wasn't very strong either. Our server, Jacob, failed to mention upon ordering that they do not have Coke, so it was Rum and Pepsi as a matter of fact. Well, I have never tried rum and Pepsi before so that's probably what attributed to the strange taste. They were good sports again, took it off the bill, and I got a Strawberry Mojito instead, which was delicious by the way. And stronger, that's important. Needless to say, my dishes have been very good and flavorful--I tried the new Sizzling N'awleans Skillet today and it was great. The food is always good and this Applebee's is a nice place to get a bite or drink every once-in-a-while (they still have the 2 for $20 too). It's a clean establishment, the ambience is nice (good music is played too) and the dim lighting is easy on the eyes. Service yields mixed results. Sometimes it's quick, and sometimes it isn't. But it's nothing extraordinaire. 3/5

This is one of my favorite places in the Murrieta/Temecula area. The food is always on target. But what really puts this place ahead of others is the staff. On every visit we've been impressed with how friendly everyone is and their ability to make us feel welcome. Getting back to the food -- I know this is a "chain", but somehow they seem to make the meals something special. Not just the presentation, but the combination of ingredients as well. For the money (and they are reasonable in that regard) it's my first choice for food, service and a nice cozy environment where you can actually share a conversation.

They have the best happy hour. Best time to go is during happy hour. Instead of ordering a meal I usually order a couple of the half priced appetizers. Best bang for my buck! Plus, check out the house margarita, it's only $3.50 during happy hour! Steal!

Went for dinner 5/15/13 and what a let down. At 6:15 pm there were over 20 tables in the dining room empty and they made us wait in the lobby for 10 minutes. They also made the two or three other parties that came in after us wait 10 to 15 minutes. They had at least 5 servers so I do not know what the problem was. Greeter acted bored and went and got herself a coke and drank it in front of us, kind of tacky. Wait staff are friendly but service was slow. Nothing special about the food. Was disappointed as it was better in the past.

My wife and I just moved to Temecula from Los Angeles beach area. We ate dinner at Applebees Saturday night and had a wonderful meal but the best part was the staff. Everyone from the greeter, to the waiter, the manager, the food servers did everythng they could to make us feel welcome. This place instantly became our favorite place to eat and we will definately be back many many times. We have already planned our next visit and plan to bring family and friends with us next time. Gary and Peggy ( be sure to order the honey bbq boneless wings for an appetizer!)

food is Ok, staff friendly, service is Ok. you're looking at 50/50 on getting any special requests accommodated.....they don't seem to hear it or they simply forget. The staff is very friendly but the service is sometimes very slow, even when you're one of only 3 tables in the place.

About Applebee's

Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
