A very pleasant first experience. The burgers were fresh, hot and had a unique flavor (not the standard MMK - mustard, mayo, ketchup). The employees/owners that helped us were friendly and helpful. We had the Shay Shay burger and another I can't remember. Both we're great but the garlic fries stood out! Better than anything I've had before. They were crispy and yet covered in garlicky-goodness... Something I'm still trying to perfect with my personal cooking. Be sure to get some ranch dipping sauce for them! Needless to say I'll be back to the best burger joint (in Modesto) I've found so far.

I thought they were rude and took our order and ordered a second drink and told me they were closing and regsister was closed at 6:45 and I said thought 7 was closing so push us out.rude and charge extra for sauce for french fries .won't go back there.told them it was my first time there.didn't care

Fantastic and tasty burgers and fries! Staff was incredibly friendly and so welcoming! This was the first visit for my husband and I. We are in the process of relocating to Modesto and are excited to have a great place like this to go to now! Looking forward to trying many more items!! Great place!!

How are you going to only take to go orders 7minutes before you close?! Close your doors then! Irritating!

Aite, it's my first time here and I'm glad dat i went with Rockin B's instead of continuing my Vegan diet. Okay, I was vegan for only 8 hrs, but hey, it's hard for a REAL MAN. Plus, my only motivation was this hot yoga chick at my gym. Although her hips can probably use a cheeseburger or ten, ya heard. Anywayz, I was greeted by a pretty lady dat was really nice and upbeat, plus she was easy on da eyez. I could have died a happy man until I looked up and saw the prices. So, I ordered the Rockin B's Deluxe which is a small cheeseburger. It was good and juicy, but I could have eaten two easily. I also chowed down on dem garlic fries that everyone on here is raving about. I thought they tasted okay. I wouldn't turn in my friends for welfare fraud for it. I'm hoping one day I can bring my hot yoga friend here. I'm already planning our wonderful life together. The dining room here looks big enough for our wedding and the restroom is quiet and clean for us to start our family! Man, If that doesn't work out then I'll just have to club her.

Okay...The burgers are very good. The food is very fresh. Yes, it is a bit pricey but do you really expect to get price, quality and service? You can get one or two of the three, but don't usually get all three at the same place. The fact that they use fresh ground, never frozen, hand formed burgers and that they perfectly season the meat, have a great "company sauce," and grill the bun just right makes this a great place to get a burger. I would not say that they have the best burger, but definitely among the best. If you're looking for a burger, I would highly recommend trying this place out. I had the Ol' Bill Burger and was pleasantly surprised by the fresh, great taste.

  • Jason D.

The Shay Shay, that's all you gotta know. I'm sure all the burgers are great, but I got the Shay Shay and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. With the pickled jalapenos, avocado, bacon, and cheese it's the perfect combination. Fries are great too.

    (5)
  • Dave L.

Fantastic, tasty, fresh made burgers. Garlic fries were perfect. Nice, clean, charming dinning room. Friendly staff with excellent customer service. Can't ask for anything more. I'll be back and hope to see you there. Highly recommend!

Yelp brought me in here and thankfully so.. The Shay Shay burger was DELISH! Literally melts in your mouth.. Just need bigger mugs for the beer.. Staff was super friendly as well...Will be back!

  • Jerry C.

If you want a great burger, this is the place to come to. One of the top burgers I've eaten. I had the Shay Shay burger. It had jalapeño, avacado, bacon, an pepper jack cheese...great flavor.

  • Sheron D.

I had the Rockin' B Deluxe and it was delicious! I wanted to have a second, but I need to watch my girlish figure;) Also enjoyed the garlic fries; they are crispy and covered with minced garlic. Yummy!

  • Samuel M.

First time visiting and it was not disappointing. The food and the service was spot on and most importantly the ranch dressing for the fries were right. The owners are working their tails off and will definitely revisit.

Well deserved rating as one of the top burger joints in Modesto. Homely little place, friendly decor, quick service, good staff. The burger I got, the "Shay Shay" was a little pricey, but it was delicious. The french fries were golden and perfect. Overall I think everything about this place was fantastic other than possibly the price, I feel like I spent about $1 or $2 bucks more than I really felt like I generally wanted to for a burger lunch.

  • Susan F.

The best burgers that I have had in Modesto so far. I am always on the search for really good food here. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot of places to eat here that satisfy my taste. I want the best food I can buy, no matter the cost. And this place definitely satisfies me. The service is impeccable. They are very friendly and attentive. You have to wait for the food as it is cooked to order. Which is what I prefer, as fresh as possible. It is worth the 5-7 dollars for a burger. There are no combos, which is the only downside for me. The fries are around 3 dollars an order. FYI, if you like a lot of garlic, go with the garlic fries; if not, steer clear. If you want a great burger that won't kill your stomach with grease or harden your arteries, go here. :)

I just had my first meal here and I am hooked. SO JUCY AND DELICIOUS! The Shay Shay and garlic fries. Fantastic! Staff is very polite and inviting. Dining area is spotless which is a huge thing for me. Quality ingredients cooked with pride. Definitely my new favorite place to eat. They even have chicken tenders so next time it will be a family affair. So glad I trusted all the others on Yelp and gave it a try. If you haven't tried Rockin' B's yet, you will not be disappointed.

The worst didnt even change the tv to the A's game burgers and fries were ehhh.might not go back

Delicious! I always order chicken strips with garlic fries! The burgers have a special sauce that's great! Fresh food made to order but never a long wait!

  • Lon M.

Back again for what seems like the hundredth time, still as good as ever. The worst part about Rockin B's is that once you taste their burger, every burger after that doesn't measure up. We get great service every time, the food is cooked to perfection, and the Rockin B's crew treats everyone like family. I wish all businesses would take their customer service approach.

  • Andrea S.

SO happy about this place. Best Burger in Modesto, without a doubt. I overheard the (im guessing owner) say that the burgers are ground fresh for them everyday and you can tell. Juicy, delicious patties, covered in perfect melty cheese. I loved every bite. My friend ordered a grilled cheese with bleu and cheddar and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with american. We also each got an order of garlic fries. the first fry we ate, both of our eyes lit up and we were amazed. Better than any ballpark's garlic fries! Crispy and garlicky. PERFECT. Decent prices, delicious food, and incredibly friendly staff. They all seemed happy to be there. It was a very uplifting nice environment to escape to for a cheesy lunch! :) Cannot wait to go back! Next time, wedge salad... their ranch was AMAZING. better than Dennys ranch. and we all know Dennys ranch is good. LOL VIVA ROCKIN B's!

Great bacon cheese burger with garlic fries. Rates as within the top 5 of Modesto! Owners are friendly and hospitable.

This place is great. Great burger, great service you can't go wrong.my favorite is the Ol'Bill perfect amount of cheese, mushroom and bacon. My wife loves the Shay Shay! Spivey bacon goodness. Even the chicken tenders we get my kid is great.

  • Lauren D.

They are really nice here, its a family owned place and it feels that way. They really brought up the atmosphere from the way it was before when the old restaurant was here. They were great about accommodating my allergies (Gluten and mushrooms) they do not have gluten free buns but they do offer lettuce wrapping and just bunless. I always enjoy their food.

    (5)
  • Alejandro Y.

Best burger joint in Modesto, a little pricey but definitely worth it. Like others have said, you've got to try the garlic fries as it's made with fresh minced garlic unlike other ones I've tried.. My personal favorite is the Shay Shay but the other selections are delicious as well. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, Highly recommended if your in the area and craving a gourmet burger

    (5)
  • Robin P.

Very fresh hamburger perfectly cooked and tasty sauce. However the fries are average in taste ( they were frozen) and the burger was small for me, I'd return but when I'm not as hungry. The atmosphere is ok, a mom and pop place. The staff are very nice and the place is clean

  • Kimberly M.

A great burger joint. They have a limited menu...but everything on it is done to perfection. Amazing people and quality food that is made to order. Barry and Shay, the owners are in early every morning doing prep. The burgers are hand formed from a custom mix to Barry's specs. We have so few places in Modesto that are up to this standard...don't miss this gem!

    (5)
  • Jinzo J.

The Shay Shay with pepper jack, has to be the best tasting burger I ever had. The combination of the avacado, spice and fresh pattie was amazing. Their Garlic fries is also delicious. What a hidden gem in little modesto. Burger is 10/10.

Went there recently last week for the first time. It was on a Tuesday and was very impressed. First going in there was a few people in line, was expecting more of a wait due to reviews, our food came maybe 15 minutes after we ordered. Mind you this was a Tuesday evening. Quickly filled up. The garlic fries are some of the best I've ever had, staff was very friendly and everything is made to order, so yes there is a little bit of a wait. But well worth it. It is a little pricey but the garlic fries are well worth it. ;-) only thing is that it closes kind of early. Wish it would stay open a little later for those later night cravings ! Will be going back, ones of my local favorites.

First off the burgers are slamming (great) We and the wife been looking for a new place to get a good burger. Hours kinda suck 11-7 but I understand family comes first. I got a double she got a Single. Kinda small portions for what you pay for. We paid $23.xx for 2 burgers 2 drinks 1 order of fries. Great food good customer service but just a little pricey

  • Lupe N.

Went to get a burger today. According to yelpers this place was good. But......I have to say I am not a fan of raw burgers nor drenched in oil fries. I ate a quarter of my food and got very nauseous. I won't be coming back to this place. The ambiance was dull and unfriendly. Oh, but the ice tea was good.

    (1)
  • Mary L.

Really good food! It's pricy, but their food is fresh. I forgot I was in Modesto when I was sitting and eating in there. This place was great and the decor was trendy. Their meat is so fresh that they often sell out near the end of the day. I had the chicken and it was bomb.

    (5)
  • Catherine J.

The food was tasty and the atmosphere is cozy. The table we were at was wobbly. The prices are a little high for a burger joint. Fries are extra, it's an a la carte menu. The garlic fries were yummy, though. The French fries appear to be frozen, instead of fresh. For 3 people, it was almost $36. That's high for burgers and fries. We might eat there again, but will share fries and drink to keep down cost. They would do better to include fries with the burger.

    (3)
  • Danyel S.

I Love this place! The food is Awesome and never disappoints! The burgers, chicken and garlic fries are AMAZING! So is everything else on the menu! I work just down the street and come here often! They know who we are which makes the visits even more enjoyable! :)

    (5)
  • Michelle H.

Not a bad burger place. The service was good, and food came out fast, but way overpriced for size of burger and frozen fries. 51$ for 4 people, we won't be back.

    (2)
  • Jana S.

The Shay Shay burger was fantastic! And the garlic fries are better than any I've had at any ballpark! The staff is very upbeat & very friendly! Can't wait to go back!

  • Mark S.

My wife and I had lunch here on a Saturday. We ordered 2 burgers, 2 drinks, and 1 garlic fries to share. Bill was $24. I had the Rockin B with bacon and cheddar cheese. My wife had the shay shay with Swiss. Both of the burgers were good, but not as spectacular as the other reviews here would have you believe. If you think this is the "best burger ever" then you need to venture out of Modesto every now and then. The patty was seasoned well and cooked properly, and the burgers were tasty but on the small side. I was expecting strips of bacon but it's more like bacon crumbled on top. The garlic fries were ok, hot but oily. Customer service was good, friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly. Certainly not the worst burger I've ever had, but not the best either.

    (3)
  • Andrew T.

The small overpriced "shay" was edible but far from a good burger, it had a very small thin fast food like Patty. The woman who owns the place was cashiering and was very rude, which added to the bad experience. Garlic fries were cold and soaked in oil. I left disappointed and still hungry. If you want a good burger this is not the place to go.

  • Justin J.

Food was alright, I was expecting much more but the others with me enjoyed it.

  • Scott B.

This is one of the best burger places I have had. If you want to have a great burger and not wanting to give you money to the big box Applebee's and Chili's for the same old burger, this is a good place to go. The owners really care about their business you can tell.

    (5)
  • Gabriella H.

This place is definitely good! I am glad they replaced that old sports restaurant. I highly recommend stopped by here for a quick bite to eat. I visited just recently and had the chicken tenders and fries that was shared with my bf. He ordered a burger with blue cheese (YUM). Both were extremely delish! I wanted to get something different besides a burger and the chicken tenders were certainly the way to go. I can't wait to try more of their food!

Just finished eating The Shay Shay burger & garlic fries. OMG it was awesome. Truly the best burger I have ever eaten!!!

    (5)
  • Tim S.

One of the best burgers I have had. If you want a 99 cent crappy burger go to McDonald's ! If you want something really good go here. It was not that expensive. You people are cheap

    (5)
  • Shaina L.

Amazing!!! The food is super fresh and melt in your mouth delicious. The flavor....wow! The cheeseburger was fresh and honestly one of the best I have ever had. The chicken burger was tender. The garlic fries, slightly crispy in all the right places and tossed in what can be said the perfect blend of garlic yummyness! Service was excellent, everyone was friendly. :) Will definitely be back.

  • Keith R.

HAVE AGAIN: Ol Bill burger with blue cheese crumbles and cheddar cheese was outstanding. Right size burger, as well. It was not one of these huge burgers you often get at a really good restaurant. Fries were good (3 stars). Friendly and enjoyable but not cheap.

Probably the best burger place in Modesto... Never been disappointed with anything I have ordered, great service and I will be back

  • Janie J.

One of the best burgers I've ever had, and I make sure to have a burger on every vacation. You know, for research purposes. I had the "Ol Bill", which is a perfectly cooked and juicy burger topped with mushrooms, bacon, and cheese (I had cheddar). The sauce tastes like a combo of mayo, ketchup, mustard, and potentially soy sauce?? In any case, it's the perfect compliment to the burger. I had garlic fries on the side and...oh man....they were awesome! Every fry was covered in garlic and parsley. The service was excellent. Our baby niece had fun with French fries and when we started to clean the table and floor the server came by to stop us and said, "you do that at home but we take care of that here!" Heads up that they don't accept out of state licenses as proof of age for beer. Sort of a bummer, but understandable. The only complaint I have is with the beer selection. Blue moon and bud light are your only choices. There are so many amazing beers in the world, so it's disappointing to see such a wimpy selection. Nonetheless, the floral element of Blue Moon played very nicely with the Burger and spicy garlic fries.

  • Zo Z.

Best burger you will have...hands down! I travel a lot for work and I have tried burgers in many different cities...shockingly in Modesto I found this burger to be best! I order the rockin b deluxe with mayo, ketchup and mustard instead of the sauce and American cheese and this is perfection! It is fresh, juicy and delicious! The owners are the so kind and courteous! Love this place and I will continue to recommend it to all my family and friends!

  • Shawnveris B.

Burgers were delicious but costly. I had burger juice all down the front of my shirt (luckily I was on my way home). The staff was super friendly. They greeted us with conversation as soon as we entered, it was like we were regulars. The burgers weren't that big, but I didn't leave hungry.

    (4)
  • Chu Chi P.

Simply amazing. They I had double b burger and the patty is one of the juiciest one I ever had. And their garlic fries is also a must try item on the menu. The waiter and waitress are all nice. I don't know what else you could've ask for from a restaurant. This place will be one of the restaurant that I'll always remember

  • Anthony G.

Best. Best. Best burger. Best people. Great meal for your dollar. Not ashamed to say I go about once a week or so. A couple tv's for your viewing pleasure and yummy food for your belly. Do yourself, your family and friends a favor, go to Rockin' B's for the freshest burger.

  • Monty D.

OK burger! Crappy ownership! Not worth the price. He lost about 10 customers today for making some stupid comments. My second time and last time.

  • Willie Y.

If there were more stars available, I'd give them all to this place. There's NO WAY any other burger place around here is better than this one. Their burgers are amazing. The meat, which is the most important part, is quality meat and not some cheap ol' processed/frozen fast food meat. They have a special sauce in their burgers that makes them even better. But food quality isn't the only great thing about this place. The people working there are friendly and the cook always has these funny comments and greets people with a smile. As a matter of fact, he's the only person who had something nice to say about my beard - he calls me "Beard-Guy"...Go to Rockin' B's and u won't be disappointed. PS: I see a lot of reviews here with less than 5 stars. If you give this place anything less than a 5-star review, u should have your taste-buds reexamined. Beard-Guy, out!

Excellent burger! A little pricy, but I keep coming back because it's just so good. I love the Shay Shay burger. It's just the right size (I don't need to dislocate my jaw like an Anaconda just to take a bite). The burger is packed with flavor. The garlic fries are irresistible. Their Blue Moon in an ice cold mug with a slice of Orange perfectly compliments the meal. I'm very proud that Modesto has a place like this and happily support our local businesses.

HANDS DOWN the best burger joint in the valley!!! Loved my Ol' Bill burger!!!! The meat was juicy and flavorful, and it just melted in your mouth!! They also let the quality of the meat speak for itself and do not try to cover it with too many spices. The garlic fries are incrediblee....AT&T Park doesn't have anything on these bad boys!!! I have not been here in a few months, just due to my busy schedule, but I think I forsee a Rockin B's visit in my very near future!! I too wish the hours were longer, especially since I work out of town, and the only chance I get to visit is on Saturdays. But the owner self operates this place for now and from what I understand, he works 14-16 hr days as it is. I am sure he will find some quality people that he can trust to handle some later shifts, and I am sure we will have them open until at least 9 or 10pm someday soon. Hopefully REALLLLL SOON!!! I need my Rockin' B's fix more often!!! :)

  • Liz H.

Simply outstanding simple food. The burgers are the best you will get anywhere. Fresh, juicy, flavorful. Great fries too. I'd go there again and again! They are not fancy--you order at the counter and they bring it to you, but the service is friendly and attentive. Really a good family run restaurant where the owners care about their customers and the quality of their food. Maybe a couple of dollars more than other burger places, but worth it.

  • Allison L.

I've eaten here twice and both times the food was great. The meat is juicy and flavorful. My only suggestion is it could use a little more salt. Both the Shay Shay and Ol Bill burgers are delicious and yes you need to try the garlic fries! Customer service is so friendly you'll want to come back for it AND the food

This place is seriously good! Three garlic fries are a must! Freshly made everything!

  • Lee Q.

I always enjoy trying new places and when I saw Rockin B's was open, I had to stop in. The burgers are very good but by no means phenomenal. I was also expecting the burger to be larger given the price. Customer service was excellent which was refreshing since most restaurants customer service is seriously lacking. My suggestions would be to make the burger patty larger and season it a bit more. A kids menu would be a welcome addition as well. I'm looking forward to trying their BBQ when they offer it.

Ok, so my husband and I are from the Bay Area, we had moved from newark (by Fremont), there is this place called "all star burger" and it's bomb. Today my husband was fixing for a burger like that, he looked up burger joints on yelp and BAM, he found this one. Let me tell you, garlic fries, bomb, the shay shay burger, bomb. I had eaten some of his (i was to full to eat). I will most definitely be going here from here on out, I HIGHLY recommend this place. The only downside, they don't have milkshakes :( wish they did. Oh and the service there is awesome!!

This place is amazing. The food is great and the customer service was great too.

MMMMMM the Shay Shay! So delish! The garlic fries are pretty awesome too. We went on a Monday at 6 and were the only ones for awhile. I was surprised that a lot of people came in the last hour they were open. The only concern I had with this place was that they only had 2 highchairs for children. I'm sure the capacity is 70 or so, with the second part the restaurant where you walk in from the back. So maybe they should invest in more highchairs for children. Speaking of the second part of the restaurant, when we walked in it didn't feel so hot. But when we left and walked through the first door to walk out the back it felt like a sauna in there, no wonder no one was sitting in there. Im sure they would fill up both parts if it wasn't so hot in there. Other than that, I would definitely come back. We loved the food and the customer service was awesome. Even though it wasn't a waiter/waitress sort of restaurant the staff came by twice and asked how we were doing. Can't wait to try the other burgers.

Best burger EVER!! I swear they must put crack in these burgers because after we eat here I can't get their burgers off my mind until we eat them the next time.

  • Christina N.

Had the Shay Shay burger and garluc fries and they were both amazing. Great service too!

  • D M.

This has become one of the best burger places around hands down! The garlic fries are simply amazing and the staff is super friendly. I am always satisfied when I leave here

  • Berlina N.

I have lost count at how many times I have come here...the point is I keep coming back! The burgers here are absolute perfection and the garlic fries are to die for! When you're hungry usually anything that is quick tastes good but these burgers are something you crave and can't wait to eat again! The burger patty is juicy and cooked to order just the way you like it, the bun is even soft and tasty, and the garlic fries are topped with fresh chopped up garlic and seasoning cooked to just the right crispiness. This place is a must!!

    (5)
  • Binks G.

The service is nice and the place is clean. The burgers are juicy and well seasoned but they're a little small for the price. I went here with my family and after spending over $30, I asked for a cup of water for my toddler and preschooler to share because we dont allow them to drink soda and they tried to charge me for a cup! That annoyed me and after that I decided not to go back again...

  • Steve C.

This is our second trip here and it does not disappoint. The Shay Shay and garlic fries make for a perfect meal. We'll definitely be back and we're letting everyone know.

    (5)
  • Matthew H.

Awesome***** best burger i've had in forever! We will be back! I had the Shay Shay and my son had the Rockin B both were perfect. I'm glad Modesto still has some great places to go, it's the kind of place I used to go to in Austin. Friendly, great atmosphere and really great food. Go get yourself a burger or chicken sandwich.. You'll love it.

  • Haley M.

I had a pretty darn tasty burger here. I ordered their standard cheeseburger, which was a good size for the price. The patty was juicy and flavorful, the bun was soft and not too big, and the house spread was unique -- not just your typical 1000 island dressing, but along those same lines. The fries were very obviously frozen bag fries, but they were spruced up nicely with a really good seasoning salt mixture. It seemed like they blended the seasoning salt themselves (it was course and chunky). I got a side of homemade BBQ sauce to have with the fries, which was a lot sweeter than I usually prefer, but it was so unique and tasty that I very quickly became addicted. It would be really great if they started hand cutting their fries, especially since they put so much effort into other aspects of their menu. They've got a couple things on the menu that are "coming soon." Beer is a big one, but I'm also excited about the BBQ bean side dish. It would be nice to see a veggie/Portobello burger here too. I definitely plan on coming back to see how this place evolves over the next few months. Rock on, Rockin B's!

  • Brooke L.

My husband and I visited this new place last weekend and we were impressed. The staff was extremely friendly and talkative and were great with giving suggestions as far as the menu goes. I had chicken strips and my husband had a burger and we LOVED it. The fries had a good spice sprinkled on them and my husbands garlic fries were SO good! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. My only complaint was the hours of operation. They are only open until 7:00 pm.

  • Gilbert O.

I Love this place! It totally appitimizes what a great burger place should be. Not to mention awesome burgers. I come here a couple times a month & usually get the "shay shay" burger (minus the jalapeños), their fries are good & their garlic fries are delish. Their staff is friendly , fast & the atmosphere is chill. Cute business, great food & friendly staff= highly recommended. My only grievence is their prices are a little high but if your looking to spoil yourself they're definitely worth a try.

Rockin B's is my favorite place to eat! They always serve you with a smile and the food is phenomenal!

    (5)
  • Jeremy M.

The burgers weren't cheap - $6-7 or so (not including fries or drinks)... but were worth a lot more! These were the best burgers I've had in Modesto. Nice feel. I was happy to see that there were a good number of customers (and still plenty of seating - it's bigger than it looks) because this place needs to "make it" where others at this location have not!

    (5)
  • Robert C.

I heard nothing but amazing reviews about this place so I thought I would go see what all the fuss was about. Turns out they were all right. Great place. I will certainly return.

  • Rebecca Z.

Shay shay!! Love this place and the people who own it!! Always welcoming and food is wonderful!!!

    (5)
  • Dena T.

Pricey & not that great!!!! Garlic fries are too greasy..... Not good. If you want to pay twenty bucks for 2 burgers & 2 drinks, go to Scenic Drive in and have a KnockOut Burger. At least there you get what you pay for.

    (1)
  • Dee P.

Wow! This family-owned and ran burger joint serves up truly delicious food! The burgers remind us of Val's in East Bay. The Ranch dressing is some of the best we've tasted which goes great with their fries and their crisp, fresh green salad! We missed the old Smokey's but love Rockin' B's!

    (4)
  • Kathy H.

Just a burger. Too expensive. Not worth the money or the wait. Fries, soda and burger all sold separate.

    (2)
  • Yaser H.

Let's get the easy stuff out of the way. Yes, it's not McDonald's cheap. Yes, they sell things separately. Yes, they aren't open at 2am when you've got the drunk munchies. But so what!? This place has top notch burgers. The style is reminiscnet of In-And-Out, but better. Much better. If the burgers were this good but the owners/workers were scrooges who'd recently had their cat run over, I'd still go. The food is that good. But Rockin B's happens to be run and owned by some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. They remember their customers and will often chat with you for a bit, just to catch up. You generally get that service anywhere else, whether McDonald's or Surlas. It's a family run business that has pride in its work and product. The burgers are excellent and the service is superb. Highly recommended.

The Shay Shay burger and garlic fries are awesome. They staff is awesome and friendly.

  • Marsha L.

Awesome burgers and fries. The burger sauce is great! My husband can get through the week without a Rockin'B fix. The place is as spotless as the food is good.

    (5)
  • Lisa R.

WOW!! I don't even know where to start. I ordered The Shay Shay which pretty much comes with everything. Jalapeños, avocado, LTO and cheese. It was soooo tasty and delish. By the time I was done i had a huge pile if napkins it was so juicy. My husband ordered the Ol' Bill which is their mushroom burger. He kept nodding his head in disbelief because it was so good. The burgers had the right amount of ingredients, nothing over powered another. It all just melted perfectly. We shared an order of garlic fries which didn't disappoint either. They were crisp, buttery and just the right amount of garlic. All their ingredients are fresh which you can tell in the taste.

Awesome cheeseburger. A little overwhelmed by garlic fries but reg fries worked out just fine. Good price great service. Nice staff.

Best burgers in Modesto by far. Garlic fries are a must try also

    (5)
  • Chris T.

I'd have to say this is gotta be the best burger in all of Modesto... I lived in Modesto for over 20 years been on a search for a good burger the whole time, I definitely found it! Cheers

  • Brandilyn B.

Eaten here twice, and each time AMAZING! First time was during lunch rush, and be prepared: you will wait 30-45. It is worth the wait! Dinner time was a bit shorter of a wait, but if you show up here too close to closing time, I've heard THEY RUN OUT OF BURGERS! o.O They're so good, I believe the rumor! I had the Ol' Bill both times. Mushrooms are perfect! The burger is meaty, juicy but not fatty, bursting with flavor. The garlic fries are nom-worthy, and worth the garlic breath you have for 24 hours. (and garlic is so good for you! All those phytonutrients that kill cancer.) The fries are tossed with the garlic spread; they don't just throw a spoonful on a stack of fries. The price is upscale, but since this is a local establishment, I consider it an investment into a family and a community. Looking forward to another Ol' Bill tonight! P.S. I marked this 4 stars only because I wish we could eat here more often. We would if they would ever answer their phone for pick up orders. They are horrible when it comes to their phone. You can't even leave a message! :/

    (4)
  • Kelley H.

Yummmmmmm!!!! Garlic fries were beyond amazing! I had the Shay Shay, and it was super juicy, and the taste was just the best! Very homey with a family feel. I definitely recommend this place. If You're gonna venture there on a Saturday, go early, it sold out one weekend. Has to wait till Monday to try it, But well worth the wait!! 5 stars!!

    (5)
  • Jon D.

Not worth the money, they overcharge for the amount of food. Burger was okay, garlic fries were decent. The garlic portion of the fries was great, the french fries themselves were to over done.

    (3)
  • Leslie M.

I was looking forward to trying this place as I've heard wonderful things. Came back after a rude experience and this time we got to eat. Two kid meals one didn't even come with fries two burgers and garlic fries $50!!! Wow and they glared at us got the impression they wanted us to leave the whole time. Awesome garlic fries. Was so looking forward to this and wanted to love it and have a new place but no:(

    (2)
  • Willie C.

I have not had a burger like this since I was a KID.... Best burger in town! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I love this place. Can't wait to try all the burgers on the menu. Thumbs up Rockin B's.

    (5)
  • Tom D.

Great!! Great burger, crisp fries everything was fabulous! Owners are right there behind the counter . Very fun atmosphere, too! Highly recommend this local joint!

Stopped in a couple weekends ago. Quick service and food was pretty decent. Nothing bad, nothing too great. A solid grade C.

    (3)
  • Georgia M.

What a surprise. It was very busy but considering there was a large party and several small ones ahead of us we did not have to wait too long! I had the Shay Shay and it was yummy. The garlic fries are great and I liked that the food was HOT when it was served. Highly recommended from an out of town burger lover.

    (4)
  • Owen B.

This may be the best burger and fries I've ever had. The classic is good the deluxe is better and I don't know about the Shay Shay because my wife wouldn't put it down long enough for me to try. Definitely coming back.

    (5)
  • David F.

The two times I came here I had the double B and it gets better and better. The garlic fries are delicious. The burgers are nice and juicy.

the ol bill burger, with sautee mushroom and jalapeno was smaking. otter pop for the kids! great customer service! the beef, delicious. garlics fries? kids favorite! yeeee so good

  • Andrew G.

Didn't live up to the hype for me. First, I'm a big fries person, so it's hard for me to take a place seriously that doesn't serve fresh cut fries (definitely frozen). Just a pretty average experience for me with above average prices ($12 for burger and fries, not including drink).

    (2)
  • Mike T.

Believe the hype! This place is great. The burger and fries were perfect. You can taste the freshness in the ingredients. What even makes this place even better is the people - had a chance to talk with the owners while eating and they're great. The love for what they do is obvious....you can see it and taste it. I definitely recommend this place and will be back whenever traveling through Modesto.

    (5)
  • Lisa H.

These burgers are not worth the cost. I didn't expected my burger patty to be as thin as they are for the cost. $6.99 for hamburger only is a bit much and my garlic fries were way over cooked. If I wanted potato chips I would have order that. However the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean.

  • jennifer M.

Ok, I'm a woman and let's just say I wasn't in the best mood today and was not in the mood to cook! This chick wanted comfort food bad! Sent the hubby out to get take-out. This was my first experience eating Rockin B's and for anyone that hasn't been there or tried a burger, well you are a sucker and are missing out! Ordered the Shay Shay, took one bite and my eyes rolled to the back of my head! This burger screamed fresh meat, fresh avocado & tomato, the bacon made me squeal, jalapeño added just the right amount of kick and the cheese married all of these flavors together! The sauce needs to be bottled! This stuff made me awesome all over the place and you must use this to dip your fries in too! Took a bite of one of my kids grilled cheese sandwich made with just American cheese......Holy Sh!? Batman!!!! Don't know how something so simple is so out of this world! I'm convinced the grill that cooks these things probably tastes good too! I'm predicting the owners will change their name to Crack Burger because you're going to want a burger from here over and over and over! One bite and your addicted! This place confirms just how bad Fuddruckers sucks! If you haven't tried Rockin B's, you gotta go getcha some!

    (5)
  • Jeff L.

This place is always 5 stars in my book. Burger super fresh, juicy, and soooo tasty!! Garlic fries yum yum too. Cold beer always a plus. Love the family run atmosphere:)

  • Brittany S.

totally upset that they NEVER answer their phone and they close randomly sooo for those driving from out of town, it SUCKS to finally get there and find out they are closed because they lost a spatula or they ran out of mustard. Very inconvenient to say the least BUT its totally worth the FREQUENT inconveniences because the burgers are totally banging - im a huge fan. just, GET IT TOGETHER ROCKIN B's for ALL OF OUR SAKE!!!!! Like now for instance, IM FREAKING CRAVING A BURGER BUT OF COURSE YOURE NOT ANSWERING YOUR PHONE AND IM NOT DESPERATE ENOUGH TO TAKE THE LONG HAUL FROM LOS BANOS TO FIND OUT YOU ARE CLOSED!!!!!!! very very saddening :(

  • Jennifer B.

Is it because I'm on a diet? Is it because this is the last place I should be at? Maybe. But let me tell you, these burgers are fantastic. I cheated the other day and landed here. OMG I can't say enough about the burgers here. Moist, juicy, delicious. I had the Shay Shay and it was phenomenal. I skipped the fries but the smell of the garlic fries had me weak in the knees. I saw people around me totally enjoying the garlic fries. This is your go to place for a fantastic burger!

    (5)

Found this place on Yelp. Excellent food and service! Staff was very friendly to our three small children. The Shay Shay was phenomenal. Garlic fries were nothing less than awesome.

Good burgers - but closed on sunday wich is one of the only days we can make it ...... pretty stupid of them

    (3)
  • Dan O.

The burgers and garlic fries were delicious. The service was also great. They don't have a kids meal. Just grilled cheese and chicken strips. Strips are 7 bucks. Would definitely eat here again. If your looking for something cheap this may not be it. Cost a little over 30 bucks for my wife, my 2 year old and I. But if you want a great fresh burger they're hard to rival.

    (4)
  • Juan I.

Best Burgers in Modesto! The burger was very tasty, but it could of been a little bit larger; next time I will have to try the double burger. I loved this place because of their garlic fries. I haven't had garlic fries this good in a while, the fries are so much better than baseball stadium garlic fries. The staff was very friendly as well. I can't wait till they start serving ribs!!

    (5)
  • Greg V.

Really, Really, Really good burgers! They also have a wedge salad on the menu, I will have to try it next time. I had the Shay Shay it was very good, i would get another patty next time.

It had been a while since I had an Ol Bill burger & garlic fry's at Rocken Bs on Mc Henry. OMG, I remembered quickly that it is the best burger I've ever had. And the garlic are to die for

wow, the worst service and a horrible experience!!! came here many times before with my wife and co workers and i will never again or recommend. i went there this evening with my son to have a beer with garlic fries and was told that i had to order a meal!!! there was 4 gentlemen and a lady. the lady was there spokesman. (my car was getting a tint at audio pros) so went ahead and order 1 meal, 1 garlic fries and 1 beer, and was refused service because i needed to order 2 meals 1 garlic fries and i guess 2 drinks and 1 beer!!!! i left the place because i have never been treated so horrible and told what i could order and cant order. this occurred while my 12 year old son is listening and watching. i will be sure that all the nurses at dmc and my friends in the real estate business hear about rockin b!!!

  • Ricardo O.

This place is awesome! We go at least once a week. Delicious burgers and the garlic fries...AMAZING! Not only is the food top notch but the service is stellar too. We look forward to chatting with the owners and the staff. If you call and they don't answer they are too swamped to answer the phone, deal with it! Yes, it's pricier then the average run-of-the-mill burger. But this s*!# isn't an average burger! Try. It.

  • Daniel C.

We where driving thru Modesto, kids wanted a Burger, so we decided to try out Rockin B's Burgers. The Deluxe Burgers where Juicy, but for the price it's kind of small. The service was excellent and restaurant was clean.

  • Manda J.

Very good burgers and garlic fries. Great customer service as well. I have tried the straight up regular cheeseburger and the Shay Shay. The Shay Shay was amazing. It has avocado and bacon and some other stuff. Delicious. The burgers are a little small, so I would suggest getting a double if you're extra hungry. I would recommend this place to burger lovers.

    (4)
  • Melissa P.

Burgers patties are juicy and cooked to perfection. Many different add on's to choose from. Bacon is chopped so your burger is loaded with morsels of pork goodness. Fries are the bomb! Definitely suggest the garlic fries. The owners are very friendly and seem to really care about their customers. Will be making this a frequent place to go when wanting a really good hand crafted burger! And I am NOT a family member or friend :@)

    (4)
  • N K.

The food was really good. I had the Double B burger with Bacon and a side of Garlic Fries and a drink ($14). Next time I'll skip the Garlic fries as it was a lot of food.

    (5)
  • Dave A.

So you think you've had a Great Burger ??? You HAVE NOT ! Until you've tried "Rockin B's " ... The first bite of the "Ol' Bill" burger sez it all....the Combination of the "Handcrafted Burger" and its Ingredients take you as Guy Fieri sez to Flavor Town Right here in Mo-Town...Saut'eed Mushrooms,Bacon and cheese along with the company sauce, fresh tomatoes and Lettuce compliment the burger...BUT THERE'S MORE ! The Garlic Fries took me right out to the Giant's Game...close your eye's and taste the closest thing to S.F. Rockin B's hits the mark and is On Point... Great Job !

  • Modeskimo F.

Saw the rave reviews and had to try it! It lived up to the hype!!!! I had the chicken sandmitch and my wife got the shay shay. We split an order of garlic fries. The fries were incredible. The chicken sandwich was cooked perfect and moist! The shay shay may have been the best burger I have had in my life! Defiantly the best burger in Modesto right now!!!!!! Not enough adjectives to describe how good it is.

    (5)
  • Wendy M.

Been here twice and both occasions were a great time! The shay-shay burger is delicious, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The fries are equally delicious. Get the garlic fries! Just the right amount of seasoning with a bit of kick. Service is beyond compare, Barry and Shay-Shay really know how to treat their customers. The employees also keep everything super tidy at a great speed! One of my new favorite motown burger places, will be back again very soon.

    (5)
  • Marcos B.

The double cheese burger I had here was delicious, and the welcoming atmosphere only made it better. Stop by this little gem for a good time and some good food. Thanks again for making our terrible day turn right around and the food recommendations over here in San Francisco. We will be trying them all very soon, and we will definitely be back here in the future.

  • Robert H.

Update; Ive tried to go back several times but they are always closed... Out of food and probably other reasons. but seriously disappointing. This restaurant will be gone very soon if they dont start treating it like a business instead of a hobby. Need to reclassify this as a POP-Up Restaurant. ----------- This is why I use Yelp.. I must have drove by this hole in the wall - mom & pop burger joint 500 times and never new it was there and probably wouldnt have stopped if i hadnt read the yelp reviews... This Place is awesome. My extremely picky girlfriend who doesnt usually like burgers said it was the best she ever had! Good value and great quality. we went 2 days ago and we are going back tonight by my girl friends request. Thanks Bs for making my girl happy without breaking the bank. If you live in Modesto you have to check this place out. My only crityique is the place is too small and im sure there gonna have to get a bigger place with their well earned reputation growing. saw a couple reviews that didnt make sense to me and they are way off base.. the ingrediants were very fresh and the size of the burger filled me up and Im 6' 225lbs. Anyone who complains about the price needs to stick with mc donalds.

I thought this place was actually pretty good. I walked in and was smacked in the face with the smell of garlic from their garlic fries. The service was great. I ordered a cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese and regular fries. I was very impressed with the flavors on this burger, but the fries were a little greasy.

    (4)
  • Rob G.

What a pleasure to have visited this place. Great burgers! Delicious garlic fries!! And most importantly the service is second to none. I highly recommend this place to everyone. You simply cannot find these types of places anymore. They have a slogan that says "2 ingredients no franchise can buy!! Love and passion" enough said!!!

    Tried this place for the first time today and it was amazing!! I had their shay shay burger with avocodo,pepperjack cheese,bacon and pickled jalapenos alongside some amazing delicious garlic fries. I will definitely be coming back so the hubby can try this place!! The service was fast and friendly. They are a bit on the pricy side but its definately worth the visit (;

  • Taylor L.

I have driven past this place many times, thinking to myself it was just another burger joint. I gave this place 5 stars because it met all of my expectations and more. The food is spot on, environment is appropriate and fun, and the staff is great! Although ALL the food was great I have to say the garlic fries are by far the best I have ever had!!They have perfectly proportioned the garlic, parsley and what I believe to be ground pepper. A definite must try! Enjoy!

First time here, my fiancé has been raving about it for quite some time, so I put my calorie counting aside for one night. And let me tell you, beyond worth it!!!! Best burger I've had in a long time!! And the garlic fries, Giant Fans: they are extremely close to those you crave from AT&T Park. They are a must order!!

  • Jan C.

Two other Volunteers and I visited Rockin B's Burger Company today for the first time! It was delicious. We had a Classic, a Shay Shay and. Classic Deluxe, plus Garlic and Regular fries. Everything was fresh, juicy and tasty. An added plus was the friendly cashier and cook. They made it an all around wonderful experience! We will certainly return and bring more friends.

A bit pricey but the food isn't too bad. The burgers are solid. The garlic fries are a bit too oily though. The staff seems pretty cool.

  • Jill G.

I'm disappointed and I blame Rockin B's for it. I'm disappointed that I couldn't eat my whole burger because I couldn't stop stuffing those FANTASTIC, crispy fries into my yapper. I am also disappointed in my lack of self control. I blame Rockin B's for making their food so completely on point. Those fries were easily the best I've ever had. Not one was overcooked or soggy. Perfect crunch on the outside and fluffy potato on the inside. As for the burger, the seasoning was flawless. Perfect portions of everything. The sauce was a touch too tangy for my taste (this is coming from someone who gets 3 extra packets of spread at In n Out), but it was still fantastic. Last, the customer service was great. They're always paying attention to your needs. Empty baskets didn't sit at the table for more than 30 seconds. The food was prepared faster than most fast food joints. Seriously the best thing modesto has to offer.

This place has the best cheeseburgers!!Don't even get me started on their garlic fries! Always when I'm craving a burger I think of Rockin B. The service is amazing too! Love the owners, they are always nice and talk me up! Two hundred thumbs up

Had the shay shay and garlic fries, best burger I've had but a bit pricey for the size

So last night I had this AMAZING gourmet burger that was so good that it left me craving another good burger. So, I decided to try ROCKIN' B's based on yelp reviews. I also added an extra patty because a couple people said the patties are kind of small...they weren't kidding. I had the Shay Shay with Swiss and an extra patty and an extra slice of Swiss because the extra meat patty doesn't come with more cheese. I also had the garlic fries. So, first let me say when they brought me my order I thought it was going to be amazing judging from the looks of it. Well it was not amazing...good yes but, not amazing. The garlic fries were a little on the oily side but, still good. I think if they can reduce the oil saturation they would be much better. Oh and btw, the staff were nice and friendly. So, if the food is good and staff is friendly why then do I give only 3 stars? Here's why. The food is good, not great or amazing and certainly not in the bad category but, they are WAY WAY OVERPRICED for what you get. The burger itself was nearly 8 bucks which is not too bad by itself but, add another patty and fries and a drink and the cost jumps significantly. My garlic fries were 4 bucks for an average portion. Fries that cost that much should be basket portion sizes. To sum it up I had a Shay Shay with an extra patty and extra slice of cheese (double cheese burger with some extra fixins) a fountain drink and garlic fries...$17.66. That was more than my AMAZING gourmet burger (and fries) that I had last night which was $15. I don't blame the people here that gave 5 stars and saying "this is best burger in Modesto" because...1. they obviously have never had a really amazing burger cooked by an actual Chef so, there is nothing to compare it too which might make Rockin B's burger seem amazing. 2. they may not have found the other food establishments in Modesto that serve burgers that taste as good if not better for much less. Bottom line you can find same or better tasting semi-fast food burgers in Modesto much cheaper. So, I am dinging them from 3.5 to 3 stars due to high cost.

My wife and I saw them on Yelp. We decided to give them a try cuz we were looking for a good burger. When we arrived we were a little surprised by the prices, its pretty expensive. I got the double B and added an extra Patty and extra piece of cheese and it ended up being about 10 dollars just for the burger. All together my wife and I got a couple burgers, one order of garlic fries and one drink, we spent almost $30. Not the usual price for a couple burgers and fries. The burgers were very tasty and the fries were great. We were a little confused because while we are eating they ran out of meat so they decided to shut down the restaurant, which is understandable, but they shut down the drink machine. My wife and I weren't even halfway done with our food and we were sharing a small drink. We went back to get a refill so and the machine was shut off, so we had to finish eating with no drink which was kind of difficult considering we were eating garlic fries and they put a LOT of garlic on the fries. They need to wait until the restaurant is empty to turn off the drink machine. People did pay for a drink with refills. Good food, nice people.

Great burgers! I had the Rockin B Deluxe w/ regular fries. I wish I had made it a Double B. The fries may be a little salty for some. But overall edible for human consumption. RB's only had two beers on tap, Coors Light & Blue Moon. The walls are covered with motorcycle tribute to dirt track & road racing! I would definitely come back for the Double B!

Saturday, April 18, CLOSED BECAUSE THEY ARE SOLD OUT OF FOOD????? If you don't have food to prepare in the busiest day of the week.......you're probably closing soon due to lack of funds.

If you want the best quality, juiciest burgers around, try Rockin B's. Service from Mrs. Shay Shay & Barry makes you feel like you've known them for years. You get a number to place on your table so they can bring your freshly prepared meal to you but by no means are you just a number at this quality eatery. They also have amazing Garlic Fries... But bring breath mints!!! Yummy!!

Discovered this little gem recently, had no idea a place like this existed in Modesto. Had the Shay Shay and some garlic fries. The garlic fries are so awesome. The burger was great as well however price can't be a little bit on the high side. The hours are difficult for me because of work so it's hard for me to catch them on a weekday.

Stop for lunch by myself and had the classic with a soda. I can't say the burger wasn't good it was actually very good. The only thing wrong I would say is the price. $9 and some change for a small burger and soda. I guess you can say they serve the recommend portion that you should have but come on I don't go to a burger joint watching my waist size. When comparing Rockin B to other places their size for the price fall short. If it was $9 for burger, fries & a drink then hands down with my mouth wide open it would be worth it. My recommendation would be try it once and then find a new place that is cheaper. Hint there are other places not to far away. Just yelp it.

I found this place on yelp and it is definitely worth the reviews. fresh ingredients and small menu makes this place delicious!

The burger was tasty, I was disappointed by the bun it was on. At the price they ask it should have a soft bolillo bread bun. The garlic fries were very well seasoned. But I had the Shay Shay burger and it only had toppings on half of my burger?? Not sure I will try this place again. Gave a three for the high price and mediocre bun and missing toppings.

This place was so good. I got the deluxe with pepper jack... It was perfectly cooked and juicy. Delicious. We also got the garlic fries...amazing. We will definitely be going back. The staff was so friendly and the place itself was cool and welcoming. Awesome job Rockin B's!

I can't believe this place is still in business. Basic hamburger with cheese Fries Coke Was 12.65. And the size of the hamburger was very close to a McDonald's cheese burger. And the meat patty was a frozen meat puck. Dense thin and well push together. It had a consistency of a Salisbury steak in a Swanson TV dinner. But I have to say there was people there eating. So maybe I'm wrong. But think of this mother and father with two kids would come up to $50.60 IF......IF everyone gets the basic burger fries and a drink. Yeah I didn't see many families there. The taste wasn't great and it smell like a garlic festival. Way over powering and not so pleasing to the nose. There so many places in Modesto that has a way better burger. But I could only name one that would be worst than this place. If you read this I would advise you to go someplace else.

What a lovely hidden gem in Modesto! Stopped by and got to try both the Shay Shay and Ol' Bill burgers. Both were excellent! I have a slight preference to the Shay burger (probably because of the jalapenos... mmm...), and garlic fries are a must. The people who own the place are very friendly. They make your food right when you order, which is awesome, but can also mean a little bit of a wait if you come when there's a bit of a crowd. The food is pretty oily and heavy, but you shouldn't be coming to a burger joint if you were aiming for something healthy! I'll be back! Though hopefully not too often or my waist line will hate me....

Great food and the people are wonderful. The Shay Shay is excellent. My son just had a double Shay Shay (it disappeared, he's a growing boy!) There is always a crowd at lunch. Just a great burger and I'm glad it is here in Modesto.

This place is pretty good, it replaced the old Bleachers Grill and reminds me of the same menu they had. They were really busy when I got there and seemed to stay that way. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and was also reasonably priced. The garlic fries were delicious!

I couldn't end the year without my 100th review under my ever-extending belt! So thank you Yelp for helping me find all of the wonderful places I've dined at the past year, and in years past! And how fitting that I dedicate this review to one very deserving restaurant, who not only serves up some of the best burgers and fries, but is owned by some of the friendliest and hospitable people I've met in all of my years of eating out! Let us start with 'Le Important Stuff' shall we?! THE FRIGGIN' JUICY BURGERS! Carl Karcher said it best, "If doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in yo' face!" And man these burgers perfected just that! The never-frozen, custom ground, 100% pure delicious beef, that's purchased from a local butcher, is what makes the patties stand out from a lot of the competition out there. I had the Rockin' B's Deluxe, which is their version of the classic cheeseburger. I would definitely get this burger again, only next time I'd add an extra patty! Don't forget to "Shimmer That Burger Out!" by adding any, or all, of the following: ##Cheese (American, Jack, Cheddar, Swiss, Pepper jack, Cheddar) ##Extra patty (highly recommended) ##Sautéed mushrooms ##Avocado ##Fresh Jalepeños ##Company bacon ##Or change any burger to chicken The Garlic Fries are delicious! If you like garlic, these are a must-try! Perfectly crispy, with a generous amount of fresh garlic on top! Can't go wrong! Happy New Year ya'll! May all of your troubles last as long as your New Year's Resolutions ;)

Got shay shay with blue cheese. Pretty good on scale of 10... A 7 or 7.5 burger...for place only does like 5 or 6 different burgers was expecting a 10 rated burger. The garlic fries very good but for burger and garlic fries $13 with drink like $16...seems like it should a been a double burger or better value. Not sure if would go back I'm going to find better burger go-to spot...

I accidentally deleted my original post from a month ago. So here's what I had - NOPE NOT ME, I'm NOT a fan of raw meat and soggy oiled garlic fries. Did not feel welcomed, felt stereotyped. Also the sign that says "we have the right to refuse service" right at the entrance is not welcoming as well. Just the other day, Barry, the owner; responded very unprofessional. See picture of his compliment. My response: Point proven on your service. ... no thanks Barry. You can keep my money. I said, "I would/will never go back".

Truly average burgers in size and flavor exept for the price... almos 8 bucks for a mediumish burger fries and soda not included. The people that work there are very friendly tho. For sure I'm never going back again to pay 12 something for a combo. If you see good reviews they're probably from family and friends from this joint.

Been going there for 2 yrs now and must say that I love it just as much! My son is now almost 5 and started to request this on a regular basis which I find so cute! Definitely tastier and fresher than fast food!

  • Michael B.

It's like they entered my subconscious and discovered my "perfect food". I didn't even know I liked burgers so much until eating one of these. Who would have thought shredded lettuce could be so awesome! Nothing fancy, not cheap, just an awesome sandwich!

  • Danddy J.

What a disappointment...after reading the reviews I thought this burger spot would be fantastic. I ordered a shay shay that cost $7.79 plus tax. You would think fries and a drink would be included, but they were not. So I was thinking, OK the burger should be filling. Boy was I wrong. It was a size of a McDonald's cheeseburger. They advertise 100% beef, so does McDonald's. The meat is frozen, not fresh, and for that price I'd expect grass fed beef. Complete rip off. Are you really that in need of an outrageous profit margin. The Shay Shay is worth $4.99 at best. Lower your prices and you might have better results overall in sales. I cant bring my entire family to this restaurant om a regular basis. Good luck.

  • Sebastian N.

The food here is extremely fresh! Yes it may be a bit over priced and the patty could be a little bigger but the taste and quality is all there. I got the Shay Shay with garlic fries. To be honest I was on the fence of giving this place a 4 star instead of 5 but those fries were worth that extra star. They were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of garlicky goodness. I would recommend this place to anyone.

First time here, a pay day treat! I had the Double B, boyfriend had The Shay Shay. Not a fan of the company sauce (it's like thousand island) but I have always been "take it or leave it" about that stuff. Everything was delicious and they have garlic fries which always makes you a winner in my book. They were also super friendly and accommodated my request for grilled onions and sides of mayo. Last but not least everything was clean and even the bathroom smelled freshy fresh.

  • Katherine S.

Love love love this place. Bugers are delicious and I love the garlic fries. The staff is super friendly and always checking up.on you. But honestly the best burgers and fries. The only thing negative is I love bacon and the bacon they put on the burger is chopped up and I prefer my bacon in slices...but whatever really. Great place!!!

  • Glenn C.

Great place to go for homemade burgers. Nice juicy burgers with your choice of toppings. You can also get grilled chicken or cheese sandwiches. Fries come plain or garlic spiced. Side salad is Romaine lettuce which I prefer. Others talked about a wait. It wasnt crowded on a Monday night.

  • Brian G.

Fantastic! The Shay burger and a side of garlic fries really hit the spot. Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff couldn't be nicer. I travelled 3 hours to check this place out after meeting the owners and I was not disappointed. Great meal, great atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I are regulars here (he has been for a few years and they know him by name and know what kind of burger he wants) and my experience has been the same pretty consistently: great service, friendly staff, the place is clean, and the food is super, super good. Their fries are the best I have ever had and I love them whether they are the garlic fries or regular fries. The burgers are in the top two best burgers I have ever had and they are tied for first place. I honestly don't understand how someone could give this place a bad review, but I know everyone has different tastes, but I can't wrap my brain around it. Anyways, it's super good. You should give it a try!

great burgers are hard to find. If you have been searching all over modesto for one, let me do you a favor and end the search go to Rockin B's. And upgrade to garlic fries they are amazing.

Expensive and kind of small but delicious hamburgers. They taste homemade. The garlic fries are amazing!

    (5)
  • Sonia A.

Good burgers, clean and friendly, & have my fav beer (blue moon). The only reason I deduct a star is they make everyone order a drink with their food- it's not optional. I think restaurants should allow cutomers to choose whether they want a drink or not...

Love this place!!! Has the best burgers in Modesto! The Shay Shay is amazing and the Garlic Fries are to die for! The atmosphere is great! The owners are some of the nicest people!

This place actually SELLS OUT of burgers! Be sure to come early, they usually sell out of burgers around 7-8pm? And theyt aren't open on Sundays. Sells out = Fresh Daily. Seriously, the best burgers I've ever had in my life - The old Bill isn't too bad - neither is the chicken sandwich if you're going for something lighter. They have this sauce they put on their burgers which is just amazing. Definitely something to try if you're in Modesto.

This is such a neat place with a great burger. I had the classic cheeseburger protein style and it was amazing. We had a large group of coworkers and they did a great job of accommodating us and in a timely manner. Thank you to all of the staff. Although it was pretty hot on the patio it was a great time, I would definitely go back.

  • Kelli C.

Went here once awhile ago, the burger wasn't great, too much salt for my taste. I think N-in-Out makes better burgers. Also the woman who was our cashier possibly one of the owners was being a stickler and wasn't allowing an outside drink I just bought inside. No one was even inside, and they were about to close, just not super laid back or friendly. I mean I understand if its a drink from a fast food joint promoting their logo, but it was a soda can, come on. Expect to pay $10 for a burger you could make at home way better.

    (2)
  • Amber E.

After reading the yelp reviews I was skeptical but the service was great and the burger I had was excellent- pretty comparable to In N Out. The garlic fries were great with a lot of garlic. I did try to go back last week and it was closed without any reason being given so four stars overall sounds right. It isn't cool to randomly close.

Going into this, I realllllllly wanted to like Rockin' B's. I'm always excited about a local place in town, and more so, it's at the heart of McHenry, almost where it meets downtown. I thought this was the type of place that was striving to bring back the nostalgic charm of old-world Modesto. And what a great thing to have one more walkable restaurant for those that live near downtown! A place you can walk to in the evenings for some comfort food and beer. Alas, I was underwhelmed. Particularly by a customer-service issue. We walked in at 6:45 on a Thursday. Immediately the lady at the counter told us we'd have to get our orders to-go because they were going to close at 7:00 pm. YOU CLOSE AT 7:00 pm???? 7:00 pm!!!????? AND ITS NOT EVEN 7:00 YET AND I HAVE TO LEAVE??(You're killin' me, Smalls!). At any other place, as long as you walk in before closing, you're fine, and allowed to eat there. And how long does it take to eat a burger? This 7:00 rulle just kills me, though. Either be a lunch-only place like too many other downtown restaurants and close at 5:00, or be the one that we love because it stays open later. For the sake of all those who live near downtown, please just do the latter. They also have a few big-screens, but who's going to come here to watch a game when you're asked to leave half-way through? Anyways, we agreed to have our meal to-go. We waited a little while, and I felt like the lady was looking at me like,"I pissed you off, didn't i?" "Well, yeah, kinda, but I can't be the first person to think this." Long story short, we left this overheated restaurant and took our burgers and garlic fries home. There was nothing wrong with the food (and also nothing home-run about it), but unfortunately I think my appetite was soured by the aforementioned issue. All in all, I was expecting more from Rockin' B's. I wish I were more inspired to go back. All these things are fixable though, and Rockin'B's could be better.

Treat you like family, taste amazing, fries are to die for, 2 beer max (amazing!). I love this place! Their burgers are the best hands down! I love that they dont allow you to drink too much since it is a family establishment. Oh my lord those fries! You have to go in for their garlic fries. So Fresh and amazing!! Favorite burger: shay

Wow! My Mom & I had the Shay Shay (that's my nickname) so had to try it! It was so juicy & delicious! Great flavor! My niece had the classic Smokey & she said it was the best burger ever! We only ordered one order of fries between us & it was plenty. They were fried like we like them, crispy! The service was impeccable & I can't wait to take my hubby. The enclosed patio area was pretty warm so sat in main dining room. They were really busy which is a good sign!! Also nostalgic because we loved going to Smokeys when we were teenagers! Give them a try you won't be disappointed!!

  • Steven T.

Bar none, one of the best burgers I've ever had. I've had their Shay Shay with garlic fries. The Shay Shay beef patty is a work of culinary art brought to life by the avacado, pickled jalapeños, bacon, and pepper jack cheese. I expected this burger to be a spicy kick, but was actually a beautiful explosion of flavor with mild and almost subtle heat. To me, the ability to get the spicy heat without drowning or overwhelming the taste of the burger is key and it's pulled off very, very well. The garlic fries are also extremely good. The garlic is mixed with the fries at Rockin' B's and it's a very strong garlic taste. If you only tolerate garlic, don't bother with these as they are reserved for garlic lovers. Definitely coming back here as much as possible.

I had the ol' Bill with blue cheese and garlic fries. I was surprised to see how tiny the burgers are. It tasted good but the toppings were a little lite and the patty was thin. Garlic fries tasted good. A little crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Can't complain about any of the taste. Super friendly service.

Ordered 2 shay shays and one drink and one order of garlic fries, 23$. Was it good? Oh yes indeed! My husband and I thought it was one of the better burgers we have ordered from a restaurant. Burgers could have been a bit bigger. Would I return and try another type burger? You bet!

Finest burger in the county. Maybe in the state. It's not a very large burger, but every burger that I've tried from the menu (located over the grill and food preparation area) has been perfectly seasoned and cooked -- and was absolutely delicious. Their fries are wonderful -- especially the garlic fries (my wife steered me back to the mouthwash later that afternoon, but there was no being bothered by vampires for a month!) Some of the nicest people around. Fun to watch them having fun in this family-owned business. Excellent prices; exceptional customer service; and superlative hamburgers! You owe it to yourself to dine here. Hint: on hot summer days, get there early for lunch or dinner.

This place is good don't get we wrong. Shay shay is great the fries are good too. But it is not worth the money. Burger, fries, and drink should not come out to 13 dollars anywhere. I mean at least red robin gives you unlimited fries for that price and a waitress to serve you.

The place is very welcoming and the employees were very nice an helpful. The garlic fries were umm.... how should I say this, the BOMB!! Lol. I really hate to say this however the burgers here are pretty small and they tasted exactly like InNOut burgers. The price for the burgers an fries weren't in sync at all, tooo damn expensive

I ate her again with family today and as always excellent service and the best burger and garlic fries in the valley. I travel constantly and have had them all. I have seen a few posts by some clowns on here lately that seem to have an agenda. -who cares if the owner hadn't shaved in weeks what does that have to do with your food quality or price that your griping about. If anything your saving because he doesn't have to buy a razor. - soggy garlic fries and bloody meat? I just had crunchy garlic fries and a excellent burger today. If you let fries sit they get soggy as far bloody burger c'mon talk to the owners who work there and always make things right evident by there 199 reviews at a 4.5 rating. If not for the few morons who don't like the we reserve the right to refuse service sign might be a 5 rating. C'mon folks mad about a sign that has to be posted. Price- You get what you pay for. If you want mcdonalds go there if want high quality meat you pay for it. This place takes pride in what they do and it's great to see little businesses succeed. If you have an issue what better than to talk to the owners who work there and will make it right. I would be upset if people hid behind a computer making these type of comments that are clearly in the .00000001 percentile. Putting some one on blast behind a computer with out trying to have your issue resolved is cowardly!! Not to mention a few of you complainers own local small businesses and should have an appreciation for what I'm saying.

I give it a 4-star for a Modesto burger place. Many say it's the best which I think is a little generous but I would support it being one of the better ones. In a larger market, the food is 3-star. A word of warning - beer options are pretty limited - Coors and Blue Moon, I think. They have some policy about only serving beer with food (first time I went) or full meal (last time I went). I went there with my wife after seeing someone had taken over the old Bleacher's spot. We just wanted to check place out. I just wanted a beer but was told we had to order food so we ordered the chicken strips. The chicken were cooked well and the BBQ sauce had a hint of curry which was pretty good. I asked one of the waitresses about the sauce and she said she didn't know and that it was shipped in. Second time, we thought we'd get a snack - same thing - ice tea, chicken strips, and a beer. Some guy - the chef - does something that showed he was irritated. The same woman who was taking our ordered and recognized us from last week told us that beer could only be ordered with a full meal. I mentioned that this was the exact same thing we ordered last week. You know that look people have when they get caught. Yeah. They might want to get their policy straight and post it. Anyway, I ordered the Old Smokey which was pretty good but wasn't very smokey given its name. It would have been better and lived up to its name had it been flame broiled. By the way, you don't get fries with your burger. We swapped out the regular fries for the garlic fries. It was OK. If you've had the garlic fries from Gilroy or from the Giant's ball park, you'll know what I mean. I like how they cleaned up the interior of the place - getting rid of the numerous TVs, old video game systems, and the sports memorabilia that seemed to choke the place. An unfortunate positioning of the fans by the recessed lighting creates a strobe light effect on your table. So if you're looking for a burger, fries, and drink for $10-15 per person in Modesto, this could be the place. They close at 7PM so you're looking at an early dinner there. I'll probably come back to check out there other burgers and any whimsical changes to their beer ordering policies.

The burgers are average. Small in size, basically you're getting an in n out burger for 7 bucks. My friend got the chicken sandwich and he said it was actually very good but still slightly overpriced. Staff is very friendly and nice but the food is mediocre and overpriced.

It's really a pleasure to share my experience about a local burger joint that thrives on Great service and especially prides itself in using quality meat with a creative talent what is on their menu. I ordered a burger with Garlic Fries. I had some grilled mushrooms, etc and really was quite a amazed at how hot, fresh they offered. I found out they DON'T use Sysco meat, which is mediocre at best. The lunch time crowd showed they have quite a following from mostly the downtown crowd, but steady on getting the order out. I think they are better then In&Out by miles and miles. It's nice to support a local business with so much quality. Parking is a bit of challenge because of the older style design of parking in Modesto, but worth going for every dime.Thank you RockinB's!

I absolutely LOVE this place! Best Burgers in Modesto. The service is awsome! They are ALWAYS very polite and good. I am a regular got hooked after my first time.

Truly the best burgers in town! Going to cost you a couple extra bus but its worth it! Great service, friendly and helpful. Clean inside. Small but its a fitting size, like an exclusive club:) Always get a double, you'll be glad you did, not because their single patty is to small but because the meat is that good it just tastes better all around to have the double, but I am a fan of their actually being substantial burger in my burger. 2 patties here is at least 4 in n out patties. If you like garlic get the garlic fries! AND BRING A FRIEND!!

It was worth the thirty minute wait for our burgers during the mid-week lunch rush, and we were hungry. The burgers are amazingly juicy and flavorful. The garlic fries were so good we were glad we ordered our own. We split a double Shay Shay (plus sautéed mushrooms) and it was just perfect. Today, I'm back for a Shay Shay with a fried egg. My dinner companion will be enjoying the Ol' Bill with a fried egg. SO excited! Of course, we're also getting garlic fries...

We love Rockin B's! Real food prepared with love by great people. Most burger places use cheap ingredients that leave you filling, well, unfulfilled. At Rockin B's, they get a custom blend of meat from a local butcher which guarantees quality of product and freshness. My only advice to a potential consumer is to get there early-- it's so good that they regularly sell out (check Facebook).

Even before you walk inside the Rockin B's Burger Company, you can smell the aroma of meat cooking on flat top as you approach the restaurant. Once inside, it's pure Americana. Simple set up with a walk up bar, plenty of seats, a self serve soda machine and iced tea. As you stand there deciding which burger to order, one cannot help, but to get lost in the well oiled machine which is the short order cook dance. Everyone knows their place and everything is executed just as it has been a million times before. Each cook at each station can anticipate the move of the other next to him. Beauty in chaos. I decided to go for the classic cheeseburger, but with one twist, Swiss Cheese. The order came up fairly quickly and as the very pleasant cashier (perhaps part owner) explained to me as she was curiously inquiring about the origins of my name, they only made orders to-go at that time. While I did await my ticket to come up, I noticed the full-house of regulars and first timers, the simple, yet tasteful decor along with all the winning badges of honor. One gentleman even got up to tell the chef that this was his first time there and after the initial bite he had to pay his honor. This made me even more excited for what was to come. I topped off my Arnold Palmer, grabbed my white doggy bag, and scattered off. In my car, and now about 100 feet away, I peeked inside. The initial shock of not being given any napkins wore off rather quickly, but I was still a bit disappointed. Nonetheless, I unwrapped the neat little present and dug right in. I hate to say it, but I expected just a tad bit more. Don't get me wrong, it was good. It just wasn't great. The meat itself was a tad underseasoned and the overall taste needed a bit more sharpness. Perhaps going with aged Cheddar would have been a better choice. Due to the steam melting of the cheese, the petty did not get a chance to go through the Maillard reaction and develop a nice crust which I love on a thin patty burger. As for the rest of the condiments and accoutrements, they played their supporting role well, but I wish they were more lost in the beefy goodness than pop due to the lack of the umami. I suspect that when I come back to Modesto for yet another visit, I will certainly return to Rockin B's, but this time my expectations are going to be well controlled and my ordering will be expertly thought out.

Shay shay burger was good. The burger had good flavor but the sauce was a little too much pretty much like thousand island. We ordered the garlic fries because of all the reviews on them but they were disappointing. They were a little too oily and a little hard, the oil in the fryer could have been old. I liked that the menu only had a few options because sometimes too many options gets overwhelming.

I have pretty high standards for burgers and I'm a purest. That being said: the Deluxe was decent. Not great but good. Nothing I would go out of my way to have again but good enough that I'm glad I tried it. Best part: the meat is perfectly cooked and nice and tender. Other good point: lady who brought order to my table was kind & helpful. Reasons to deduct 2 stars: long wait (30 mins for my order), no A/C (left soaked in sweat and made me want to hurry and leave), over-priced.

OHHHH BOY!!!!! Burger heaven! Loved the Rockin B Deluxe. Ordered garlic fries. Huge. ALL to die for. Delish!

Most people are well aware that this is the best Burger in Modesto. However it certainly worth noting that the Brisket sandwiches and beans are EPIC!!!!! After having lived in Austin, TX is so refreshing to get solid BBQ back home in NorCal. It should be noted that the Brisket & pulled pork (which I haven't tried) are only available on certain days. Following them on FB will certainly help to see when the BBQ is being served. The Shey Shey burger is probably my favorite of their regular fare. The garlic fries are actually better than AT&T Park (Go Giants!)... Yeah, really. Just wish they had a little larger beer selection, but not negative enough to drop any stars. Hey Rockn B's owners... How about getting some Shiner Bock (awesome TX beer) to go along with your great food ;)

  • Bucket S.

12 bucks or more for a burger fries and a drink? It's not that good! I'd rather hit up Surlas and get a real gourmet burger. Or pay 5 bucks at In n out. They charge for sauce and are slow to serve their thin patties. No beer while waiting too... Just take out the taps... You don't even need them. They aren't even that nice...

Went out for lunch actually today and no long line and tables full. Simple menu, I went for the Shay-Shay with swiss, ordered a side of the garlic fries. This thing tasted amazing, every bite I took I could taste the meat, bacon, avocado, jalepenos, all at the same time but individually..feel me? The garlic fries are potent so be sure to brush up before talking to co-workers. I might hit up the place next week now that I'm thinking about it.

One of the juiciest burgers I have had in modesto. They have their own sauce on the burger that is a sweet thousand island. The burgers are cooked to order and have a very garlicky fries to boot. My only criticism is that they are pretty pricey for the amount of food you get. The burgers are not large.

Wow, I was really looking forward to trying this place. My mom and I drove down to Modesto from Oregon to see my daughter (her granddaughter) for her 20th birthday! I was checking out this place online and sent the link to my daughter...we were all excited about trying it. Especially the garlic fries. We arrive and we all start ordering and I was thinking that a beer would go nice with my burger and fries...my mom ordered one, no problem. I ordered one, they asked for my ID...at first I was happy because I am 40 and don't get carded much any more. So, I show my Oregon ID and thy jumped all over it..."we don't take Oregon ID"...what? Honestly, I don't look anywhere near 21, my daughter is 20 and my 67 year old mother is next to me...with Oregon ID as well. Then the guy in the back...I would assume his name is Barry from the other comments on here about him being rude says, "nope, we don't take them. I can buy one online right now for $50"...really? Show me where because I find that really hard to believe. They are a lot better than they were even 10 years ago. Honestly, I am not convinced that they weren't discriminating against our group for a few reasons but I won't get into that. I will just remain hopeful that wasn't the issue. We won't be back. We went to another place that was extremely friendly and inviting...even to Oregonians!

Well, if Modesto hasn't any good decent food around here. From all the yelp searches, reading and trying different places, only to be disappointed, this place definitely makes up for it. Weary at first to try another hit or miss spot, the prices looked fairly decent so had to give it a shot and I'm glad we did. The burgers were cooked to order, nice, hot, oozing with flavor and moist. We both ordered the shay shay, which you can find the ingredients on their menu, but at $7.59 it was a good burger, but fairly expensive considering the competition. Their garlic fries?.. Yes, I'd go there alone just for them. They were amazing to say the least. Not sure how they make them, but damn they're on point! Lunch for two was about $23 bucks, not too bad, but for a burger joint is pretty pricey. Just a suggestion, maybe some Parmesan cheese on the garlic fries? That would totally set it off. Would I go back?.. Hell yes Great food, friendly courteous, smiling staff. 4.25 stars for me, you've found yourself a new patron. Think I'll try the grilled chicken next. Cheers!

Went here for the first time at around 12:50pm on a Tuesday...walked in and there were a fair amount of patrons. We had stood in line for maybe 2 or 3 minutes and shortly after that there was a line out the door! Ordered the Ol' Bill with avocado...AMAZING. One of the best burger's I had had in a very long time. The flavor was perfect. Also loved their version of spread they use. My mom ordered the chicken burger...the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was not dry at all, perfectly juicy. We shared the Garlic Fries which were AMAZING too. Can't say enough about how great their food is. Highly recommended.

Really really liked our burgers. I had the ol bill and the wife had the shay. We shared garlic fries and had a soda. The place itself was very clean and actually smelled clean. Very easy to order because there are not a thousand things to look at. Just good old fashioned burgers. My ol bill was cooked great with the mushrooms and cheese of my choice. The cheese was melted perfectly. The garlic fries were really good because they were made right and tossed. Most places just put stuff on top of the fries We came mid afternoon and there was no wait at all. We got our meal in less than ten min. The staff was nice. I will be back.

Not the best burger I've ever had but definitely worth stopping for. We were concerned by the frozen fries but after tasting the garlic fries my husband and I were both very content. Yummy. The staff were all very friendly which was an added bonus.

I am only rating this a one star for the fact the customer service we had on Saturday with one of the workers was terrible. Anyone who has ever eaten here before knows they are in a small building and very busy. It was extremely hot outside and we got stuck sitting in the back room to eat. We asked if we could turn the tv on the lady said NO we opened the door that is between the front room and the back room, the same lady closed the door so the ac wouldn't come to the back room. more customers starting filling up the back room and the table behind us asked can you plug in the ac wall unit? same lady said NO. so my advice is not to go to this place during the summer months. The food is awesome but you can't enjoy it when it's hot outside and they are not willing to accommodate their customers.

This placed lived up to the hype! Friendly service, clean and yummy. Any place that proudly cooks in front of you as you order is fine by me. Deserves all the high praise they already have on Yelp. A great place to look forward to future visits.

Wow ... serious WOW. I mean I used to go to Mundo's Latin in Turlock for a decent burger, but I was kidding myself into thinking that that was as good as it would get. Someone on Yelp (thanks man!) suggested Rockin B's and I must say I am so thankful I finally got to check it out. Super friendly staff, spotlessly clean, and a good local vibe. We rubbed shoulders with some salt of the earth Central Valley residents for sure. I ordered the Shay Shay and the spouse had the Ol' Bill. They give you a ton of fries when you order them so we decided just to get a single basket to share. The Burgers were excellent! Juicy, perfectly seasoned and all the condiments complemented the burger expertly. The fries were just as awesome. We got the usual fries instead of the garlic ones because we'd had garlic fries at Barking Dog and they were horrendous, so we didn't want to repeat the experience. However the next time, after having such tremendously good food, I am more than willing to try their garlic fries as well. Seriously these people are Burger aficionados; trust them... they make an awesome burger. Thank you Rockin B! The search has finally ended...

Burgers were average. Nothing special about them. The bun falls apart just like the big Mac .fries are frozen . I was expecting fresh cut fries. Not coming back.

Wish there were six stars to give. Hand's down, the best burger joint in Modesto, Stanislaus county and possibly California. My son and I went there for lunch. His was the regular cheesburge, mine the Ol Bill that has guacamole as a spread....and the GARLIC FRIES!!. My goodness, I can't remember a better burger ever....

Stopped by this burger place since I was staying with my bf for the weekend! And Im so glad I did since their burgers are packed full of flavor and was amazing!! I got the Shay Shay burger and my bf got the Ol Bills. They were nice to split the burgers for us since we wanted to try each others! While they were both really good, I think I like the Ol Bills more since it has mushrooms! And the sauce that they put in the burgers was really yummy! I would have given this place a 5 star if the burgers were a little bigger! I'm a pretty small person and even I was still a little hungry after finishing the burger. Maybe I will get some garlic fries with my burger next time I stop by this place!

The first time I went there, the door was locked. .closed on a business day mid afternoon. Second time I got there at ten minutes before closing time. .door locked and owner yelled out that grill was off. Finally got there during lunch and was happy with taste and freshness, but it was too expensive plus the owners were rude/ dismissive/uncaring not to me but to other customers I witnessed. Owner rolled her eyes at polite request. Some people just don't realize customer service means return business. I won't return.

Rockin' B's is great! We went in based on a few of the reviews below and let me tell you the burgers exceeded expectations. I had the Shay Shay and it was super fantastic. Best of all, the place was clean and the entire staff was very friendly. This will be my new go-to place the next time I'm in town. Keep on Rockin'!!!

So far I've had their ol' bill Burger and their rockin b burger and garlic fries. OMG SOOOO GOOOD. a little expensive but it is seriously worth it. wish there was one in stockton. it's okay, I work in Modesto so I can go there for lunch. way way better than taxi burger, in n out, and moo moos.

Great service, super friendly staff, amaaaaazing food. Got the Rockin' B Deluxe and garlic fries. It's hard to get great garlic fries around town, these were on point. Boyfriend got the Shay Shay, even better than my burger. Super delicious, definitely coming back!

Burgers were great but fuddruckers are a bit better. Hamburger was super juicy also had the garlic fries were decent. Bit pricey for two people I paid $26. Probably go again but not often.

This place is fantastic! It is a new favorite place for my husband and I to eat at. The people who work there are very friendly and outgoing. The atmosphere and environment it quite nice. The food is delicious. I love the hamburgers and the garlic fries are to die for! Best of all: the prices are extremely affordable. You can buy the same amount of food at a fast food restaurant except the food at this restaurant is way better quality. Great Food. Great Service. Great prices.

The best hamburger ever! I ordered the Shay Shay, awesome! Great service, and super clean establishment! Garlic fries were good, a little too garlicky for me, but that's me. If your a garlic lover these are for you! Definitely will be back. Glad I found a place for premium burgers, prices were reasonable. My favorite burger joint!

  • Thomas P.

The burger is hit and juicy and taste pretty good. The sauce is almost slap your mama good but not quite. It's missing something but not sure what. There is no argument that this is a really good burger worth driving from wherever you're at to come try it. The menu is simple and uncluttered with a bunch of needless food very simple burgers or chicken with some fries. I'll be back and I'll bring my wife and she will love the garlic fries

    (4)
  • Dave W.

Burgers are good fries are crispy and tasty. Staff is nice and I believe the owner is always there cooking in the back. Bleachers was good but this place is more of a burger joint. It's good, usually pretty busy around lunch time so I try to go in a little after lunch and usually the staff is attentive and I can get served within 15 minutes. Definitely a must try for burger people.

Drove from oakdale to try the burgers and garlic fries I had the double B and my wife had the shay shay, well worth the drive one of the best burgers and fries I've had in a long time the only disappointment is that we ate the burger so fast we didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked so I quess ill just have to go back.

  • Sean C.

I must say, we've become regulars here. The burgers are to die for. I'm a local businessman and enjoy bringing clients and other associates from out of town here that have never been. I always get the same reaction. "WOW this burger is awesome!" Last time there I was waiting in line and watched a group of guys argue over which burger was better, Ole Bills, The Rockin B, or the Shay Shay. The service was as good as I expected. Garlic fries are a must! Keep up the yumminess!!

  • Diane B.

Tried this place out for the first time last Friday night. I had the Ol' Bill burger and garlic fries. Believe me - if you eat the garlic fries, you will keep the vampires away for several days!! YUM!!! I have to say, though, that the service was some of the best I've seen in any establishment in a very long time. All retail services could take a lesson in customer service from the staff at Rockin B's.

wow the burgers are very juicy. probably one of the best I've had. I really went here for the garlic fries. I wouldn't recommend the fries it was okay to me. i believe a burger is about $8 and parking onsite. My friends have been talking about going here again soon.

Another wonderful experience at Rockin' B's! Not only we will come back, but my family no longer eats burgers anywhere else! We have been here a handful of times but tonight was our first time back after a month or two. As soon as we walked in, the owners warmly greeted my husband and I both by name. They are always so friendly and truly care about your experience. The food is outstanding! The burgers are so flavorful, fries are perfect and the wedge salad was delicious! They are the best burgers I've ever tried anywhere! I love this place!

I very rarely use a spanish word to describe food but I gotta say that the burgers here were delicioso!! And let's not even talk about the garlic fries. OMG!!! :) they are as good or even better than a baseball parks garlic fries for half the price! The food is even better than the old Scenic Drive In. This place is a must try!!!! Found my new burger place now that I'm coming back to the Cental Valley :)

I kept seeing the incredible yelp reviews for this place and decided we had to give it a try. The overall dining experience exceeded my expectations. As a group, we got two double b's and a chicken sandwich with garlic fries. When you taste the burgers, the quality of meat hits you right away. Without question they are grinding it fresh and giving it the care it deserves. The burgers are second to none and miles ahead of anything in the area. All of us could not stop talking about it for the rest of the day. That in itself is worthy of five stars. Absolutely incredible!! Keep up the good work, Rockin Bs!! You made a believer out of us today and we will definitely be back soon!!!!

We ate here for the first time yesterday, and wish there was a Rockin B's Burger near our home in Columbia. My husband and I split the Classic Smokey with Cheddar, plus a side of fries. The place is clean, and everyone that works here is friendly and cheerful and seems genuinely interested in you having a good experience. We will be back.

I really enjoyed this burger joint! The owners seemed friendly and happy to be their. The Shay Shay burger was tasty and melted in my mouth. The only thing that was missing was a pickle, whether it be on the burger it's self or a pickle spear on the side. Now on the the OH MY GOSH I JUST ATE THE WORLDS BEST GARLIC FRIES!!!! Need I say more? My daughter had the grilled chicken sandwich and she says its the best she's ever ate. That coming from a 15 year old. It was a bit hot and stuffy inside but making a whopping 250 hamburgers in 1 day I bet it would be. That's a burger every 2 minutes!!! Over all I will be back for sure but I'm bringing the pickles......

I kept hearing about this place through friends and family. I had posted my review of Lula's which is equally as good. In no time I was receiving responses such as, "If you like Lula's you need to check out Rockin B;s". So Naturally yesterday my wife and I had some free time and decided we would check it out. When you first walk in you are greeting by a very nice lady who I soon found out was one of two owners. The menu is very simple respectively and service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Rockin B Burger with Garlic fries and it was VERY good! My wife had the same thing and thoroughly enjoyed it as well! If I had to point out something that was somewhat of a CON it would be the fact they do not serve shakes. The owner stated its for space reasons which is understandable. In no way does that take away from the quality of the food. If your looking for a great burger, Rockin B's is the spot!

The first 5 stars I've given on yelp. This place was great. Burgers, Fries, Chicken Tenders were all awesome. The staff is really friendly and they will be serving beer shortly. Will be going back for sure.

Freaking awesome. I prefer to eat at locally owned mom and pop type restaurants. This place is exactly that. The burgers are amazing; perfectly cooked and juicy. The garlic fries are actually GARLIC FRIES. Do be sure to get them, but consider yourself warned. We will definitely be back.

  • Tim H.

These burgers are absolutely delicious! I've had a lot of burgers piled with toppings that were so bland they just ended up adding texture. That isn't the case here. You can taste every thing on the burgers and they blend perfectly. I ordered the Shay Shay and everything on it mattered. Also, I've never liked garlic fries but I ordered these anyways because there were so highly recommended. They've made me believe that garlic fries can be done right. They were perfectly crispy, not soggy like other garlic fries I've tried. I'll definitely go back and order the same but I'm also excited to see what else the menu has to offer.

Even the second time we went there and got the exact same order, it was better than the last. This place gets better and better each time! Be aware of what time they close though, folks, the owner works 6 days a week 12 hour days. They close at 7 for a reason! They run out of the freshly prepared parties they make daily on especially busy days, like weekends. Call in your order before 6, and enjoy it when you walk through the door. Be sure there's bacon on your burger. All the seasonings for it are his secret recipe. You won't find that kind of flavor anywhere else.

By far BEST burger in Modesto... And I think I have tried every last place in the Central Valley... This one is perfect! Ranks up with burgers in all time ratings... They use a secret blend of cuts of steak to make the ground beef... plus they have a secret sauce that will have you licking the wrapper... and the onions are a perfect balance between fried and raw... Enough about how good it was... It's pricy... At first I balked at an almost $13 lunch, and the place is small, so you need to get there early if you want a seat... But that lunch was worth every penny and more... The garlic fries were made in a way you cannot get anywhere else... Better than the best I have had at ballparks around the country... The staff is exceptional and wonderfully nice.... If they can keep this up and make it consistently this good, I would say this will rank as one of the top restaurants in the Central Valley!!!

The burger was pretty good. Had the shay shay and it was yummy. My only complaint would be the fries, they could use some work. They are frozen which I think they would taste so much better fresh, especially with heaps of garlic all over them. I will go back

We stopped by on a road trip. I had the Shay Shay burger and it was perfect. The service was nice and friendly. If I could eat here everyday I would!

This place has the best burgers I've tasted in a long time that wasn't homemade. The garlic fries are what dreams are made of. However, I wish that they were open past 7 especially for those people who work late. Also, I think being open on Sunday would be beneficial and possibly close one of the slower weekdays. One thing that discourages me from going back is that they run out of burgers before their posted closing time of 7. Definitely not the way to have repeat customers. The biggest topper as to why I will not be returning, you post a review and the owner feels that it is his responsibility to call out any reviews that are not 5 stars or are not 100% positive. In my opinion, he needs to grow up. I have a close member of my family that has bean in the restaurant business for over 20 years. Opening your own restaurant takes a lot of time and dedication. This means that you will be working all the time. Day and night. All week long including weekends. Whether you are the owner or general manager, restaurants mean working a LOT.....and being an ADULT.

At the risk of being shamed on the Facebook page this place was just ok! We went for lunch and friends got the burgers and chicken sandwich. Both were fine, no complaints. At the same time many establishments in Modesto sell equal if not superior burgers/sandwiches. The restaurant itself was a little uncomfortable with the front room being extremely hot. I also asked for water and was told I can only purchase bottled water which I thought was a little different. So, perfectly fine burgers/sandwiches, but not the most amazing burger you will have as some yelp reviews suggest.

This is my first time in the Rockin B and I wish I would have gone sooner. That was the best burger (The Shay Shay) I have had in a very long time. The Bun, the burger and the sauce paired perfectly with the yummy veggies, including the jalapenos......WOW! What an explosion of flavor! You now longer have to go the Giants game to get the best garlic fries, we have them in Modesto. Do your taste buds a favor and treat them to this awesome yumminess! Super friendly staff also! Will be a frequent diner! Do yourself a favor and visit Rockin B's Burger Company on McHenry, you will not be disappointed!

Very good burger (had the Shay Shay). The wait time was very long (lunch rush) for a burger ~ 30 minutes. I would recommend coming here, but try to be there exactly when they open. A-

First time going there. Got the garlic fries and they were great. Burger had great flavor. It was recommended by a friend, glad we took her advice of eating there. We will definitely be back again. Servixe was over the top as well.

The burgers at "Rockin B's" rock! They are extremely favorable and the garlic fries are sinfully delicious. The staff is friendly. The only disappointment is if you want water you have to purchase a $2 small bottle of it rather than getting it gratis. After I drank the entire bottle of water during my meal, I wanted more, but didn't want to fork out another $2 for it. If they serve water on tap, that I have no complaints about from other restaurants, then their grade of 4 stars gets budged up to 5 stars.

My family and I recently went and tried out this place for the first time. I really like the energy and cleanliness as compared to the previous establishment. The burgers are exceptional and so is the service. They are SUPER accommodating! You have a special request, they will do it for you. The service time was pretty good and I am sure will get better as they get settled in. It is a little on the pricey side with everything being ala carte. It was $55 for 6 of us to have a total of 5 burgers (my kids split one) 5 fries and 5 sodas. The burgers were nice and thick and homemade. Great flavor! Go check it out, you wont be disappointed!

I don't usually write reviews, but this place felt very worthy of it. I'm not usually a big burger person, but Rockin B's does it right! I have been here only a few times and I'm addicted to whatever yumminess they have that keeps me coming back. The burgers are cooked to perfection and those garlic fries are so amazing. It's a nice place to just sit and enjoy a burger, and the staff are just so friendly. I recommend the Shay Shay, it does't get any better than that deliciousness I tell ya!

Ok look up a couple of reviews before i tried the hamburgers.my family and i habe always eaten out. And we know good quality food. The three stars are for the taste is good. Lacks fresh condiments. Too small of a burger to get charged $9. I miss the city. Burger joints like nations and quarter pound. They are open very late too. Big burger you got ur big tomatoes, onions, and lettuce. Now thats worth $9. Rockin b gotta step it up. Not better than snow cones burgers. If thats the right name . Ok what u mean by condiment fresh is not enough and dont let it stir fry on condiments. Not too much heat. Dont give me slivered onions. Give me chunks like a real true big burger. Opps but it anint big enough oh well

If you haven't already tried these burgers, what are you waiting for!? Hands down the best burger joint in town. Quality you can taste; everything on the menu is phenomenal! Their garlic fries are better than the SF stadium ones, try them and you won't be disappointed. Along with the great food, the owners and staff are super sweet and friendly!

Amazing, delicious, and so so so good. I highly recommend you try this place. The burgers are extremely tasty and the garlic fries are a must try. I had the Shay Shay burger wrapped in lettuce and my husband had the Ol' Bill. We were both really pleased and will be back for more! I also love that this is a locally owned, family business. You can tell that they love what they are doing. The service is great and the taste can't be beat.

I finally had lunch here. I had the grilled chicken. It was awesome. I have never had chicken that was so moist. I usually don't eat beef and this chicken was the best I have ever had in any restaurant. Will be back.

My husband and I both agree that this place has the best garlic fries ever. They are nice and crunchy, but best of all topped they are topped with lots of garlic. A lot of times places are skimpy on the garlic, or it is all in one lump. Here they hand toss the fries with the garlic and seasonings in a bowl. I believe the owners were present when we were there and they were very friendly and accommodating (the entire staff was). I ordered a mushroom and cheeseburger and my husband had the Shay Shay. Both of the burgers were tasty. A complaint we had wais that the burgers were so good, but the buns were not as high quality as the other ingredients. They fell apart and were not able to hold the burger. I am hoping that once they are open longer that they will expand their menu to have a variety of burgers and sides. I was also somewhat confused about the BBQ component, it was on the sign outside, but looking at the menu I am not sure as to what I could order that was BBQ. I will be going back because it was very yummy.

I had my first burger from them today and when I took my first bite the heavens opened and angels sang out. By far the best thing I have ever tasted I can now die knowing I've tasted them best thing on earth, so amazing I seriously recommend trying them

Awesome burgers! Best I have had in the valley by a long shot. Fresh food! Nothing stored for later. Amazing flavor, good quantity of food and really cool owners who went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed the whole experience. If you want a burger, don't be foolish, GO HERE!

Burgers are very good, garlic fries are fantastic. Big Bummer here is that they don't have free water, they make you buy bottled water. I would almost bet that this is the only restaurant in "Mo-Town" where water is not free. They have a soda fountain, so why not just add the water feature as a nice customer service. Maybe the owners have not seen our newly remodeld arch: "MODESTO - WATER- WEALTH-CONTINTMENT HEALTH." Anyway, back to the food, it's pretty good but I won't be coming back because I like to have a few cups ice cold cups of water with my meal and I don't want to have to pay for it.

Not recommended for burgers: small, not much taste, fries are plain - pricey for what u get. Wifey said chicken was ok

Grilling perfection! This new burger joint is sure to satisfy. The burgers are juicy and full of flavor. I had the Shay Shay and all I can say is...omg!! Oh, and the garlic fries are a palatial delight, even better than Gordon...you know who. The restaurant is clean and full of friendly faces as they are a family owned business. And the prices are great too! My mouth is watering just thinking about my next dining experience at Rockin B's Burgers.
