This is my second visit to Mr. T's Donuts and it's going to be my last. I left so pissed off with the way I was served by a staff who severely lacks customer service. My first visit I would've given 5 stars had I wrote a review, both visits I ordered a half dozen donuts which consisted of 2 bacon maple bars, 2 maple bars, 1 sprinkle donut and an apple fritter. The only difference was the first time it was a Saturday morning (completely packed) and this time was a Monday evening at 6pm (no customers), my total the first time came out to $5.10 (boxed) and this visit was $9.75 in a paper bag! I explained to her that my last visit I ordered the exact same thing but my balance was only $5. I asked if the prices went up? She said no, that there must've been a mistake the first time cause the bacon maple bars are $2.50 a piece. No problem. She bagged my donuts instead of boxing them even when I specifically asked for a box because I wasn't eating them right away, she said that's how they come. I was charged an extra .75 for using my debit and now the cost of what I thought was going to be a $5 donut trip just more than doubled! I was so frustrated that I paid so much more this trip than last that I insisted they put my $10 donuts in a box, cause that's the least she could do. Nope! She made another girl do it for her. Terrible service!!! Just terrible. The donuts are mediocre, the bacon is stale, but the apple fritter is on point, it's the only thing they got right. I'm pretty disappointed today.

Mr. T is one of the best donut place's in modesto. The two young girls that all ways there are outstanding. All ways happy. Never talk about anything personal to each other. It's all ways happy happy business. The donuts there are top notch. never had a bad donut and I can see how could I ever get one from the happy workers. Yeah the girls are so cute. But the guys that work there are doing there job and just as inviting. Never talk about what they did last night or why ( insert name) didn't call him back last night. It all ways business. And what they do. Thay do it well. Very well. I use to go there about 2 to 3 times a year. But when that corporate donut shop open across the street. I was upset modesto let them. So I started to support the mom and pop shop.... and now I'm kinda going there more offen. Village Bakery coffee when down hill and now you have to pay for not so good coffee. This is my new coffee and a sweet thing place to go to now. Happy People with no showing tattoos. Lol if you went to village bakery you would understand :)

Best Donut shop around in the 209! No franchise names like Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts can even compare to a delectable donut from Mr. T's! They're simply the best! I learned about this place when I was a freshman at Davis high school in 2006. Since then, it has been my go to place for delicious donuts. I am an older sister of a student at Mary Lou Dieterich Elementary school which is about 5 mins from Mr. T's and all of the teachers bring Mr. T's when they want to reward the students. When I used to go here in the mornings on my way to school, I recall elderly people sipping their coffee, having a fresh, warm donut, and socializing with their friends. Great morning conversations start with a yummu donut or pastry from Mr. T's!

  • Stevee L.

First time here and we loved it!! My husband and I both got the chocolate bow tie donut. Amazing... But a little too much chocolate for us. We should have stopped there but we each had another donut. He had a buvarrian filled donut and I had a cake donut with sprinkles. Those were amazing! And the place was constantly busy!! We will definitely be back and now that we know these donuts are filling we won't get two each! Great place, great prices, and great donuts!!

  • Ken S.

These are good donuts & the selection is very diverse. If U want to pay more for a slightly tastier (sweeter) donut, cross the street to Dunkin Donuts.

    (4)
  • Anthony M.

cronuts and bacon maple bar are out of this world! its always good to see david beat goliath. Dunkin Donuts never stood a chance.

    (5)
  • Sarah D.

Best doughnuts ever friendly staff remembers me every time even if it's been months since I have been in and even remembers that I like ice full cup no soda the lady's remember my name best fresh doughnuts wouldn't ever go anywhere else I would give 100 stars out of 100 if I could the best time to go there is 3 am when the doughnuts come out of the fryer and are still warm my favorite is the maple with bavarium cream or the maple with bacon crumbling on top

  • Shirley D.

I went to see what all the hype on the reviews of this donut shop, if this is the best donut shop that people have experience then I feel sorry for you. There wasn't much of a selection, I was expecting a large variety which wasn't the case. The donuts didn't taste fresh at all. I tried two types of donuts...glazed and maple bar. The glazed donut was tough, as if they dough was over worked...the maple bar was tough as well, and the maple that they use was a cheap type of maple. The place was busy, but I think that is because people don't actually know what a GREAT donut taste like. Heck I have got better donuts at Safeway. Will never visit again.

  • Mimi R.

Horrible customer service, does Mr. t know the cashiers are ruining his business!! I ordered a large French vanilla cuppacchino, and got hot chocolate instead, didn't realize till I got home across town, next time came in I aske for a curtesy drink since these the mistake of giving me the wrong drink, the ladies were ridiculously rude about the situation and refused to give me a drink, she said you should have called us, it's not a big deal over coffee but being a daily customer you would think they would want to please and compensate their customers. Apparently they rather loose customers, you'd think they'd be smart and be more curtious since Dunkin Donuts is across the street from them now, I work at a large company & I will make sure the word gets around about THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

  • Eric S.

Best donuts around if you are anywhere in the modesto area and want donuts this is the place. I have been coming here for probably 25 years. Even when the dunkin donuts across the street opens I will still stay loyal Mr T's, truthfully I don't think dunkin will stand a chance against Mr T's

    (5)
  • Binks G.

The only donut shop I trust around town and they're open 24hrs! The donuts are the best in Modesto. the place is clean and in a nice area of town. A must try!

Mr T built a great donut shop right in the heart of Modesto. Fresh, great selection and low price. Coming back for sure.

    (5)
  • Michael S.

Great place and awesome donuts over the years! Dunkin Donuts tried to move in across the street and they have their work cut out for them. Don't let a chain try to cut out a family business.

    (5)
  • Minh N.

Enough said! We all know Mr T's the best donut shop in town! :)

    (4)
  • Alex C.

Best donuts ever!!! Never stepping foot at Dunkin Donuts because these are THE BEST donuts I've ever had. They taste fresh and the staff is kind and have positive attitudes.

  • Crystal G.

Sorry. Been there twice and both times they disappointed me. They were very rude and I was seriously the nicest ever. Donuts I had were also very dry and not much to them. First time I was like, maybe I came at a bad, so the second time I tried at a different time, and still horrible rude service with mediocre donuts.

    (1)
  • Kyma D.

This is one of the best Donut shops in the valley. Love the Apple Fritters. Always fresh and is inexpensive. Staff is always friendly and courteous. The best part its open 24-7

    (5)
  • Tyler M.

Best place for donuts in Modesto. Back in my HS days our tennis coach would always have us come here before tennis-matches in Modesto. Wide variety of Donuts.

    (5)
  • Nancy B.

This is the BEST donut ever! They are open 24/7 so their donuts are always fresh. You don't have to worry about going there at 4:00 pm and getting leftover donuts from the morning....they are baking their donuts fresh around the clock. The staff is super friendly also, I have never had a bad experience here. Dunkin donuts moved in across the street but it didn't take the public long to realize they didn't come close to Mr.T's! I know people that even drive all the way to Modesto from the Bay Area just to buy their donuts!! One donut and you will be hooked....:-)

    (5)
  • Richard G.

Mr. T's hands down is the best Doughnut spot in the Valley. You read the reviews and if you don't know, now you do. Don't sleep! That is all!

  • Chad H.

Best donuts in town! Trust me you won't be disappointed. Everyone in town recommends it.

    (5)
  • Daniel L.

just to throw this out there, they are open 24 hours which is great, but their selection can range from excellent to sparse depending on when you get there. anyway, ive been to allot of donut places when living in the bay area and up in oregon (Voodoo donuts) and id say this place is up there with some of the best. the old fashioned (especially blueberry glaze), cruller, maple bacon bar, and glazed Cronut are all great. My least favorite donut from any donut place is the plain cake donut...but testimate to their quality, i throughly enjoyed the one i had from here.

    (5)
  • Mike P.

Best donuts in Modesto. Can't beat a mom and pop shop. Always go for late night cravings.

    (5)
  • Mike S.

Mr. T's is, hands down, my favorite donut shop in Modesto. I had to try the "other" shop across the street to see what the hype was.... but they just reinforced what I already knew. Mr T's has the best. They are light, fresh, tasty, and delicious!!

    (5)
  • Rina Y.

Obviously the best donuts in town. I must say it's better than Krispy Kremes. Fresh and fluffy, it can't get any better. I've always been going back when I get cravings. Staff are super friendly and sometimes they give an extra donut free. I always buy the dozen and sometimes when I get home I see am extra donut on the side.

    (5)
  • Jeff N.

Our FAVORITE Donut Shop in the entire Modesto Area, because it is the BEST!! We even like it better than Donut Shops out of town in Escalon and Southern California. We have tried every Donut Shop around here, even Krispy Kreme a couple of times. And have never had donuts more consistently delicious and FRESH. Mr. T's has an amazing Variety too!! The place is always clean, the employees helpful, and great prices. They even grab the freshest donuts for us (the ones that were just made). There is just no better Donut Shop anywhere.

    (5)
  • Angela R.

I just have to say, you have to try it for your self. It is a small quaint little donut shop but has efficient service and the donuts are YUMMY!

    (5)
  • Ari L.

YES! I had the tastiest donuts ever! So very fresh and very affordable. Service is super friendly. Of course my experience was on a Saturday Morning coffee date. The best date to go on! Take me here for donuts again and again! I had a French Crueler and a glazed old fashioned. The glaze tastes like vanilla. So yummy!

    (5)
  • Lew A.

So much to love tucked away in this western themed shopping center (outside of buildings all wood, looking like something out of Bonanza). There's a wide selection of donuts here, looking all tasty & decadent looking. The Bavarian cream filled donuts are a favorite of mine, with the said cream being made at the donut shop. The coffee here is delicious, too, and there's nothing like a hot, smooth cup of java to go with a donut that isn't too sweet, heavy, or stale! And that leads me to another point: the service! Last time I came, I asked for a donut and the lady behind the counter turned back and grabbed a freshly made one that was sitting on a cooling rack, even though there was one sitting under the display glass. Awesome. As well, plenty of room to sit here & enjoy yourself as you gobble. Together with We Donuts, the best places for a tasty treat in Modesto.

    (5)
  • Kimberly D.

I have been going to this donut shop for over 15 years! All I can say is...They are the #1 reason why Krispy Kreme couldn't make it in Modesto! Love the donuts here and the service is great. Nice little dining area too.

    (5)
  • Rebekah B.

Always fresh and yummy any time of day or night.

    (5)
  • Gary N Sindy E. E.

Awesome doughnut shop! Very nice employees, very helpful and very sweet personalities! The shop is very clean and very warm to sit and enjoy your time here. The donuts are fabulous, very tasty, and quality is excellent! We have had great donuts in the past and we were visiting the area and glad we stopped by! Come by this shop and support their business....they are that good! Gary n Sindy

  • Jessica N.

Mr. T's is a small donut shop with delicious donuts! I usually go to Mr. T's on Fridays and get donuts for my job and it's always so packed but service is fast! My favorite donut is the chocolate cinnamon roll donut and they just made a donut bar with your choice of either chocolate or maple and it has bacon on it!! Who doesn't love bacon?!

    (4)
  • Michelle F.

Mr. T's is an old donut shop in town. It has been around for a long time. They're donuts are fresh, baked on site and they have a wide variety to chose from. I don't care for their Bavarian cream personally, it seems heavy and oily to me. The jelly filled donut is really good, however this one is popular and sometimes they do run out. The staff was friendly, there is plenty of seating, and the establishment is clean. I don't care for the 75 cent charge for using a debit card. That stinks!

  • Aaron W.

The World's Best Donut Shop. I pity the foool who don't eat Mr.T's! -Mr.T

    (5)
  • Taylor R.

Great warm donuts, The family always gets their own and my favorite is the chocolate bow tie. A family friendly shop would recommend anyone who comes to Modesto to visit this location.

    (5)
  • Naelia C.

This place had by far been the best donut shop I've ever been to! Great service and the best donuts

    (5)
  • Chris B.

Best donuts in Modesto... Dunkin donuts is opening across the street but I doubt that will affect business

    (5)
  • Madison W.

Best Donuts ever... End of story :))

    (5)
  • Gooey F.

My family has these donuts often. We all have our favorite donuts. I love the deviled chocolate chip. My husband likes the apple fritter and old fashioned glaze..my boys liked the raised and maple bars..They are open 24hours daily. I'm just waiting to see if they will ever have a pink raised donut..They have the cake pink. I always get the sprinkled chocolate cake and pink cake for my grandaughted..The coffee is always hot and good..it's mostly always packed inside, but I recently went on the 4th of July right when fireworks started in the evening. .it was empty..loved it I had the shop to myself. .lol

    (4)
  • Amber V.

Delicious doughnuts! Better selection than other doughnut shops. But it's gross how there are always flies inside the glass cases where they display the doughnuts. Pretty sure they lay eggs in there daily.

    (2)
  • Adam E.

    Dispatch Emergency Donut Fix!

    (5)
  • Sharon S.

This place by far has the best donuts around!! There glazed are so soft & delicious & they have the best cinnamon rolls. It had been there for over 25yrs & still keeps their quality good! It's fun to see some older Vets in there with their coffee & shooting the breeze! Love this place!!

    (5)
  • Amy P.

Best donuts you'll ever have...especially when they are still warm. We've been going here for years and drive across town instead of going anywhere else. It's definitely worth it.

    (5)
  • Kristen P.

The donuts are so good! Soft, fluffy and fresh. Staff was friendly and efficient, prices were great. Highly recommended!

    (5)
  • Rayleen W.

This shop makes the best donuts in town. They are always fresh moist and tasty. I believe that they are 24 hours, any random time that I crave donuts and make the trek over to Frontier Town, they are always open. Friday mornings between 8:30-9:30 are very busy! Be prepared to wait about 15 minutes or so.

  • Steven G.

I work in "Mo-Town" and needed to come up with good donuts to bring to a morning meeting so I yelped "Best Donuts in Modesto" and up came Mr. T! I pity the fool that thinks otherwise. A-Team references aside, this is a great place to get your fried rings of deliciousness with a multitude of shapes and sizes. As soon as you walk in you're welcomed by a HUGE display case showing off all their homemade donuts. I'm guessing they bank on a huge morning rush, they had staff working the counter with ease and speed. From the time I entered, picked my dozen and paid only 5 mins had elapsed. So here's the clincher, I didn't partake in passing the "O" past my pie hole however I received very promising feedback from my colleagues. Words like "moist" and "tasty" were used fervently so I think I'm convinced that's worth five stars. I'll be back as soon as the mood strikes me.

    (5)
  • Janie Q.

I love Mr T's donuts. My favorite is the cinnamon twist. I know Dunkin Donuts is opening across the street but I think Mr T's loyal customers will stay with them.

    (5)
  • Ricky A.

Always fresh, and the line moves quickly. Best donuts in modesto hands down. try the bear claw.

    (5)
  • Raul A.

2nd time I tried going on a late night donut run to get some donuts....both times I get stale donuts...always been good during the morning time nice and fresh but I figure they would be making fresh donuts around the clock considering there 24 hrs..Still best donut spot in town.

    (3)
  • Jamie E.

Best doughnuts ever and I hate doughnuts! Can't belive dunkin doughnuts is opening across the street. Lame. Support your local businesses and come to Mr. T's you won't regret it. Just had the bacon bar for the first time and O M G so sweet and salty.

    (5)
  • Taylor B.

Mr.T's is always going to be that place that will bring me back to Modesto wherever I may go in life. I spent so many summer nights there after parties, games, or potlucks with friends just talking and laughing, the guys know me by name at this point they are all so amazing and just real down to earth people. There is always something fresh but you should always try going really late because it doesn't matter how tired you are there is no donut in the world that will even compare to your first bite of a freshly glazed hot donut from T's. You know you are a local when boycotting a dunkin' donuts is a thing to brag about (I mean seriously who puts a dunkin donuts next to a top tier local shop???) I used to swing by at 5am on sundays to pick up donuts for my coworkers and I when I worked at a gas station and the morning and the late night are polar opposites there. At night you have a young crowd calling it an evening talking about their wild adventures and just joking with everyone who walks through that door and then you come in the morning and you've got those sweet seniors of Modesto, they keep that place what it is, a quality friendly environment, knowing there are regulars who can't go a day without their coffee and T's donuts should say enough on its own. If you can handle that busy city vibe it really is neat to go during their morning rush, you're signaling and shouting over others, getting on your tip toes to hand your cash over, grab what hopefully was your bag and just rush out and every time it's fast service and friendly people. Go in one night and say "give me the freshest thing you have" and I promise you won't regret it.

  • Frank T.

I found a cockroach crawling around the donuts behind the glass. I notified the worker and he simply picked it out and threw it away. HE ACTED LIKE IT WAS JUST THE NORM. I asked if he was going to toss the tray out and he said nothing. I can't believe my eyes. I will never be back.

    (1)
  • Sam H.

Go at midnight when they are just coming out fresh!!!!!! We drive from Riverbank for these bad boys when we feel naughty! Delicious!

    (5)
  • Just Angie A.

The best donuts in Modesto! Always fresh. Fast, efficient service. Even when there is a line out the door, they work quickly to get people on their way. Lemon-filled donuts are divine. They are good and have been a deserved fixture in the Modesto community for decades. This local establishment is worth the kudos it gets. Give it a try.

    (5)
  • Michael H.

What can you say? Great donuts!!! I went there at about 630am and there was a small line. It went fast and we loved the donuts. We had visited the dunkin donuts across the street when it opened and the service was terrible and donuts tasted like Safeway donuts...Its nice to find a local spot that takes pride in what they do. Check it out, you wont be disappointed.

    (5)
  • Jaden B.

The donuts here are amazing. I love them. They fill your cravings and make them just right. Not too sweet, and everything is homemade. I love Mr T's so much!

    (5)
  • Avi Y.

Coming to Modesto, I wouldn't think there was too many places to get any good donut shops, till I stumbled across this gem. People raved about it and I didn't understand why. Was it like krispy kreme? No I was wrong, it is way better. Dunkin Donuts who moved across the street has nothing on this old time 24 hr shop. They have multiple people rotating through the day making donuts fresh all the time. They do have cronuts which I was surprised they even had. (when they first made them, they were perfectly with their perfect donut exterior and then a dense and sweet crunch of crossaunt, but I still love them even how they are now) besides that their donuts are on point not too sweet like youre going to get sugar high after having half, its perfect. this is the place to go and the locals know whats up

    (5)
  • Allyce M.

Mmm, so good! I was born and raised in Modesto and have been going to this place all of my life. I have NEVER had a bad experience. Since it's so amazing it can get pretty crowded but service is always good. I live in the Bay Area now and there are no donut shops here that compare!

    (5)
  • Summer S.

We LOVE this place!! Open 24-7 and if you call ahead they'll have your favorite donuts boxes up and ready to go for you! You can also ask what time they bake your favs so you can get them super fresh and hot!!

    (5)
  • Steve W.

Great place when ever I want a good donut this is the place. There service is awesome they have a wide variety of donuts. A dozen is slightly under 8 $ next door dunkin donuts is almost 13 $ you can't compare these to Mr T's. Buy local not a chain franchise. Open 24 hours if your craving is late no worries get your donut fix on .Mr T's your awesome

    (5)
  • Scott C.

Nothing better than a fresh donut in the morning with a hot cup of coffee! I have been coming here for years and love the service, selection and larger donuts. Crispy Creme and Duncan take a back seat to Mr. T's on Tully Rd. Even if all was equal, I would still favor the small 'Mom & Pop' shop like over the franchise stores...so if you want great donuts...with great variety and service, this is a great place to visit. Just don't tell my personal trainer that you saw me there! :/

    (5)
  • Patrick Y.

They have the freshest and best tasting doughnuts in Modesto friendly service and very clean if you haven't been there your missing out a thousand times better than dunking doughnuts

    (5)
  • Chelo G.

Small little donut shop at a great location and open 24hrs. Donuts are ALWAYS fresh and delicious. But...gas station-like coffee =/

    (4)
  • Aleece T.

When I came home for the holidays I wanted to try another place but my family members all rallied against me and nearly disowned me for not immediately jumping at the chance to try the infamous Mr T's. As far as donuts go, they did not disappoint, although at the time I was looking for something more savory. I don't know what else I expected given that it is in fact a donut shop. There was a line out the door which speaks to it's reputation as being the best of the best. This is definitely a local's favorite that all must try at least once.

  • IsTallerInHeels ..

I am glad that Dunkin has had no determinant! I love this place....

    (5)
  • Luke S.

This place always stays fresh and is open 24/7. Sometimes you find some interesting people sleeping here and the people that work here are great to talk to as well . I thought these were the best donuts I've tasted in Modesto. Perfect location also for this place. THeres also a redbox close by. The cocoa is great too.

    (4)
  • Jared B.

Mr. T's Donuts are the best in Modesto. If you had to decide to either get Mr. T's or Dunkin' Donuts right across the street, You should definitely get Mr. T's!

    (5)
  • Ed F.

Even though I can't eat doughnuts like I used to Mr T's is still the best. Be it for home town pride, a place to go, the memories made there, or just the sweet edible delights, Mr. T's hits the spot! Nice people, family owned, friendly if they aren't swamped. Just good stuff. Partial to their blueberried treats and chocolate bars.

  • Cynthia M.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mr. Ts! Most of my family lives in Modesto and as for years, so I am up there a lot. Mr.Ts are the only donuts I will eat. I have tried others, but no one is any where near as good. My favorite is the glaze...I crave those stupid things. I'm actually grateful I don't live closer....well, my hips are grateful. I was up there a couple weeks ago and a cousin bought some Dunkin Donuts (they had the utter disrespect to open directly across the street from a mom and pop like Mr. Ts) and they were so sweet I couldn't even finish a whole donut. Gross....that's a future review. Mr. T's was even asked for by my daughters when we went back to Modesto because they remembered how good they were. Of course they will eat anything with sugar. Trust me...go to Mr. Ts. Sometimes there is a line, but they are so worth it.

  • Real Eyez _.

Love the service but most of all those soft melt in your mouth donuts that are always fresh

  • Kevin W.

This place has its pros and cons. One of the pros is there excellent donuts. They have that deep-fried crispiness and are nice and warm. Another pro is that they're 24 hours. The cons however, include they're customer service. They aren't necessarily negative, the employees just seem disinterested. Eye contact and a smile would be nice. Especially with Dunkin Donuts right across the street with their hundred smiling faces. Another con is their prices. A bacon maple bar is $2.50! I get that it's a premium donut, but I've had just as good for $1.50. They also charge a fee for debit, which I thought was illegal, but there you have it. After all is said and done, I'll still go back to the place. There are some things I'm willing to put up with when the product is done really well.

  • Izamar F.

Perfection! Best place in Modesto! Highly recommend this place ! Don't go to Dublin donuts across the street

Skip the dunking donuts and come here instead. Friendly service and open till very late.

  • Sean K.

First time there this morning. Line was a bit intimidating, almost turned around and went somewhere else. So glad we didn't! Despite the length of the line, there was hardly any wait. Donuts were delicious, and there were so many choices that I'll have to swing by again and try something different. The bacon donuts were calling to me, but I couldn't bring myself to get one this time. This time.

Best doughtnuts in town!!!! I have been faithfully going there for 20 years. No other store can match them or beat them. So fresh and open 24 hrs!

I was craving a donut and was about to head over to Krispy Kreme, but Mr. T's was closer. I've generally been disappointed by donuts from mom and pop shops, so I was reluctant to come here, but my boyfriend insisted. When I went in, there were a lot of good looking donuts. I wanted to try everything. I ended up getting 3. They were perfect! Great flavor and texture. I think it was better than what I would have gotten at Krispy Kreme. Pleasantly surprised and definitely will be coming back.

Ok so this is the kind of place that is hard to describe.. I'm from the bay are and live near a Krispy Kreme let's just say my mission when I moved to Modesto was to find a good donut! Well not only did that happen I have stumbled across a little slice of heaven!! I tend to go out there at 12:30am when they're hot and fresh! That's my weakness! Service is great and place is clean! Donuts are beyond delicious! Must try!!

  • Sofia C.

I love this place!!! The sugar doughnuts are life!!!! Best part is that they are open 24 hours and on holidays!

  • Jeffry L.

This place is awesome. My kids love all the options for donuts. Most the time the line is out the door in the mornings, but it's because it's a Modesto favorite. The chocolate chip bow tie and a maple bar are our favorites..

    (5)
  • Lyle W.

Awesome donuts, very reasonable, bring cash as they don't take cards, but way better than the dunkin donut chain across the street. Enjoy everyone.

    (5)
  • Kathrina A.

Mr T's literally has the best doughnuts I've ever had. My husband and I recently went to Voodoo Doughnuts and they were nothing compared to Mr T's. I love this place.

    (5)
  • Guisela L.

I don't get it. The service was great, the variety a plenty, but the donuts were a little too sweet and just tasted like any other place. We tried a glazed raised, blueberry old fashioned and a Bavarian cream maple bar. We came in with high hopes and as soon as we sat in the car we tried them all. I'm a dessert monster and I didn't even finish everything which is unusual for me. I'll give this place another try and see if maybe we ordered the wrong things.

  • Shirley M.

This place is amazing... normally when I consume donuts I tend to get reflux and can't digest this... something about this place, no issues, they maybe use a better oil to fry their donuts? Ok, not the healthiest, but once in a great while, this just hits the spot! Tasty and wide variety of exotic donuts! Seasonal and holidays they do an awesome job of decorating donuts, fast friendly customer service, and gets jam packed!, but the ladies behind the counter does a fantastic job of keeping the lines moving with taking orders. Filled donut flavors: coconut cream bavarian cream raspberry lemon banana cream (seasonal) They have this buttery knot donut, its semi glazed, but its like a croissant... a must try.

    (5)
  • John C.

Hands down the best donut shop ever. Their donuts are always fresh. Try the cro-nut or the bacon topped maple bar and your heart will melt. This place has been making the most fantastic donuts 24/7 for over 30 years. Have you ever had a donut after a night of drinking and partying?, there's simply nothing better.

    (5)
  • Geoffrey N.

I just had a chocolate bow tie there it was the best donut I have ever had and believe me I've had a lot.it's nice to see a local company prosper in times when big company's try to take over Good job Mr t's

  • M L.

I grew up in Modesto and lived there for 18 years before joining the navy and this donut shop is better than any Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts. They are always friendly and their donuts are always fresh no matter the time of day. The donuts are also dirt cheap and you get more than what you paid for. It's nice to see this small business is surviving and thriving.

    (5)
  • John B.

It is very simple, if you want a donut in Modesto, even if you don't live in Modesto, I live in Ripon, this is the place. In the morning they are warm and delicious .

    (5)
  • Nick M.

If you live in Modesto and have donuts from time to time, you are very fortunate to live in the same town as Mr. T's. I have been all over the country and have never had a donut as good as Mr. T's produces. I know people that have moved out of the area and when I talk to them, they always mention how much they miss Mr. T's. If you want the best donuts you have ever tasted and don't mind waiting in a long line, then give Mr. T's a try!

    (5)
  • Ryan A.

These donuts are awesome! And, it does not matter what time you want one. This place has an old time donut shop feel. If you come earlier in the morning, then you will probably see the early bird crowd. You could frame this in the sense of "old cop show" donut shops. Need some donuts and a cup of coffee for breakfast, they have just the fix for you. Do you work the night shift, or are you a night owl? There open 24 hours a day. They have all types of donuts to satisfy all of your donut wants and needs. The coffee that they serve is donut shop coffee. If you want a triple shot of whatever with drizzle on the top, then you are barking up the wrong donut shop tree. I don't know about you, but all I want is black coffee with some sugar and cream. Mr. T's is the best. Eff the rest!

    (5)
  • Molly A.

I'm another satisfied customer... Store is clean, counter attendants are polite, helpful and patient. Sometimes you just can't decide which delicious donuts to add to your hips. I'm not that crazy about donuts but I love this place. For me, it's the only place in Modesto to buy donuts. The donuts are tasty - not greasy - and always fresh. YUM! Now they have cronuts!!!! Awesome! This is the ONLY place to go for donuts. I know so many professional places that only buy donuts here for customers and the employee break-room.

    (5)
  • Linda T.

Wish Mr. T's was in Texas!!! My cousin brought us here for a late night treat, yes at like 11pm there was a donut shop open, you wouldn't find that here in TX!! Anyways, I was introduced to my first cronut, wow it was delish!!!! Good luck to that Dunkin Donuts being built across the street, I have a feeling it won't stay busy. Hands down if I lived there I'd go to Mr. T's any day over Dunkin Donuts! Just sayin..

So after eyeing this place for a while (since I don't live in Modesto) I finally made the trip on national donut day, since I had an appt @8:30 and by the time I got out our local donut shop was out of donuts. We had to have donuts on national donut day. I don't know what the race is for this place all the traditional donuts had a starchy after taste. I'm thinking they were old or they just have a bad recipe. There's 6 donut shops here in manteca and non have that aftertaste. It was a big disappointment. Specially because I came here for the high reviews. I got a dozen donuts, blueberry cake, cherry cake, chocolate, crumb, glaze and coconut traditional, and chocolate, glaze and plain buttermilk. The cake donuts were great! No aftertaste that day but on the next morning they did, making me come to the conclusion that the others were old. :-/ I'm definitely not coming back, I'd rather wake up really early and eat some in town. Those have definitely been the best that I've tried.

I have to admit donuts are my weakness and this place hits the spot I always recommend this place to my friends.

    (5)
  • Melanie M.

The chocolate bow ties are to die for! Best donut place in town. The staff is very sweet and inviting as well. It's a small and cute shop but I've noticed it attracts many different crowds (which is a GREAT thing). Very happy with how Mr. T's is doing well, keep it up!

    (5)
  • Gregg R.

Many local residents carry a reverence to this place that borders on worship. It can almost create an impossible standard for a business to overcome when serving outsiders and first timers. What I enjoy most out of this place are the donuts that come out fresh. Come around 1am or 10am to get truly fresh fare from this donut shop. The reputation of this place can live up to the hype when you order them fresh and get the melt in your mouth goodness.

    (4)
  • Jean B.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Great donuts, great selection, open 24/7 with fast, courteous service! Never a long wait, even with a line to the door. Favorites are apple fritter (sometimes very greasy), blueberry fritter, chocolate crueler, and chocolate old fashion. I think the bacon bars are next. Krispy Creme left Modesto to the locals, hopefully the newest big chain won't last long either, especially since they placed themselves directly across the street.

  • Whitney D.

10 STARS !!! I absolutely LOVE these donuts! Ever since I've been pregnant, I've been craving donuts. But not just any donut will satisfy this prego craving! Only Mr. T's will do the trick. I even drive all the way across Modesto for these donuts because I will not eat any other. BTW, it's TOTALLY scandalous that a big name chain donut store is planning on setting up shop across the street! Every Mr. T fan needs to band together to keep Mr. T's going strong!! No doubt there are tons of other Mr. T fans out there! And not just their donuts are amazing, but the service is as well. Everyone that works there is always so nice and courteous. Always service with a smile! Mr. T's needs to open another location over my way! I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

First time going there today I got the apple fritter it was AMAZballs!! Totally enjoyed it. I looked forward to trying the maple bacon bar next.

Best doughnuts EVER! Have been in Modesto for two years now, and love that I can go get a doughnut from Mr. T's at any time of the day or night. How many doughnut stores can say that? The fact that they sell almost all of their doughnuts at 85¢ or maybe $1.75 for the big is great. $7.95 for a dozen is a great price when at other places you would pay more. Hate that Dunking Doughnuts opened right across the street, but will still go to the local doughnut store over the name brand chain. LOVE Mr. T's DOUGHNUTS!!!

    (5)
  • Erin H.

You haven't had a real doughnut until you've had a Mr.T's doughnut!! Hands down the best doughnuts ever! No other doughnut shop can even compare to them.

    (5)
  • Coby R.

Hands down the best donut shop in town! My family has been going here since I was a child. 5 stars don't cut it more like 10 starts.

So every now and then I get a craving for a sweet treat- Mr. T's really hits the spot! (Krispy who? Dunkin what?) Mr. T's I am so happy to have discovered you in my painstaking search for a great donut in Modesto! The donuts are very fresh, and not greasy- it's like they fry them just enough, to perfection! The cake donut dough is perfectly moist and not crumbly, decadent in texture, with just the right crispiness to the outer layer. The icing is perfectly sweetened, not too much and not too little. Huge selection, they have a donut for every person's tastes. They also have this signature donut with maple icing and crumbled bacon on top- gotta try that one next time!

    (5)
  • Kim T.

I read a lot of good reviews for this place and decided to try it. My daughter and I both ordered the maple bacon donuts. We love bacon and donuts so I thought a perfect combination. I was wrong it was horrible. I think it might have tasted better if it had a little less bacon on it . Luckily, we ordered a two chocolate bars to just in case we didn't like the bacon ones. They were okay but nothing special. I have a real sweet tooth and am always looking for the perfect dessert. This wasn't it.

    (3)
  • Rachel W.

I hate how Dunkin donuts is across the street. But they can't compare to Mr.T's. They open 24/7. Every time I go there, I'm always greeted with good customer service and freshly made donuts.

    (5)
  • Sylvianne M.

Best donuts in town! Great selection always fresh, anything you get is amazing! Funny how Duncan had to move across the stress but this place is the best!

    (5)
  • Sean M.

It's basically hit or miss with what they have. I've gone in on numerous times, before work, after work, weekends and Friday nights. They also charge .75 cents to use your debit card. We are in 2014. Get with the times. I don't even know any other small local businesses that charge to use your debit card. Glad dunkin doughnuts moved in across the street. Maybe it will light a fire under them and force them to step their game up.

If you're on a diet, avoid this place!!! Mr. T's is worse than nicotine! Because I try to watch my weight, I avoid Standiford / Tully at all costs. I find myself subconsciously pulling into the parking lot whenever I'm in the vicinity. I consider this an addiction. I'm sorry I haven't reviewed this place after all these years. I've been going to this place since a young lad in the 80's. I still think about the warm, chocolate covered twists as it was gooey with goodness as it melted in my mouth........ that was my first experience in 1987. This place by far are the best donuts ever. They make donuts twice a day with addicting floury goodness, so that's part of the reason. Although rare, It's such a treat to see a full display of their inventory after their baking sessions. Damn, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Any reviewer that gives this place less then 5 stars are nuts.

  • Diana I.

They have been in business for a while! Love their donuts it tastes really fresh and home made!

The BEST donut shop in town! Especially when you get hot and fresh ones! Donut holes are irresistible and definitely try the chocolate covered cinnamon rolls and buttermilk bars!

  • Robert M.

Mr t sucks really bad that sucks that I have to drive across town and show up and they have no donuts but they say come back at 11:30 and we will have fresh ones what kind of bs is that especially with dunken right across the street come on guys step it up have fresh donuts all the time you only have one job to do. It seems like it's like this all the time it's a hit and miss every day they should have a schedule of when I should come by.

    (1)
  • Penny J.

I went in at 5:40 AM on a Sunday morning. You would think for a Sunday they would be fully stocked, but their selection was sparse to say the least. My son had requested I get cake donuts with sprinkles but the display case had none. The server stated that they were out. When I inquired about the several rows of cake donuts on the rack behind her I was told they were a "special order". They told me there would be none available for sale for over an hour. I couldn't fulfill a simple request so I left with nothing.... I believe that if you come in early they force you to pick thru older product, ( to help minimize losses) and display the fresher donuts when their main stream flow of customers arrive. This however is also the time when the line for service goes out the door.....

Best donut place in town . Hands down . Small but your in and out . I go here for my branch every Friday or so and the customers / employees enjoy . Thank you mr. T

  • Cynthia W.

My daughter has spoke very highly of this place. She brought me some doughnut holes on New Years Eve. I fell in luv with their product. As my husband and I were running errands today, I suggested that we should stop in for a snack. It was late afternoon and I was expecting the variety to be limited and I very much expected the doughnuts to be somewhat dry. WOW!!! was I pleasantly surprised. As we walked in, the doughnut case was fully stocked and the baker could be seen making dozens more. We were instantly greeted. I must say, the service here is spot on. The store is very clean and the smell of the decadent delights are out of this world. When we got home, I bit into a maple bar and could not believe how fresh it was - - it almost melted in my mouth. This will be our go to place for now on - - you guys rock.

I've stopped by on the way back to sonora for a dozen to take home all the time. Stopped in Saturday morning at 8:00 am, the the line was out the door. Still waited because the donuts are good, but not ground breaking. Finally made it to the register to pay, .30 more cents each for each donut with SPRINKLES, I'm being worked because I have 4 donuts with peanuts. Charge you to use your ATM and that's $10 bucks a dozen. I'm out, keep your sprinkles, I'll hunt down a different donut fix.

While a lovely place to go with family, the donuts are your regular every day donuts.

Came here yesterday (Saturday) morning at around 9:30 and this place was packed! Customers were in and out constantly. I discovered his place through searching Yelp since I was in Modesto at my boyfriends house. Anyways I bought over a dozen donuts. They all looked so good. Too many to choose from. Behind the counter you can see them making the donuts. Very fresh and very moist. Not oily at all unlike other donuts. You guys must try!

  • Cayla F.

I absolutely love this place. I have been going here with my friends since high school. We would all get together about once a week around 2am for the fresh batch. They still remember me to this day, even though I am not in there as often. Their new croissant donut it SO DELICIOUS! Get one, or two, next time you are in.

  • Raymond R.

Love this place. The plane cake and blueberry cake doughnuts are like crack!

    (5)
  • Jennifer F.

This place keeps the fat girl that is hiding inside of me very happy. When pregnant with baby number four I would come buy a dozen...and I hated sharing. Chocolate bar is the best but there isn't anything here that I have had that wasn't super yummy! Also the staff are great. I loved that every week after my OB appointment I would come in for my donuts and the girl behind the counter would always talk baby talk with me! Even now they are so friendly and always smiling when we go in there. I will not buy donuts from anywhere else! This is it!!

    (5)
  • Mark S.

Some one on Instagram told me about this place. And I have to add my 2 cents. IT'S GRATE. Always fresh, always good . Must try .

  • Dave S.

Excellent! Very fresh and delicious. I especially liked the old fashioned but the other classics were great too. The shop is clean and new looking with plenty of seating inside. Mr. T's makes donut day rock!

    (5)
  • Charlie O.

Back again. Just can't get enough. By far the best donuts, pastries in he state. Much better then that other place that keeps going out of business, dip pity do creme or something like that.

    (5)
  • Dee B.

The best things about Mr. T's: donuts, hours, and service. The donuts are freshly made, and you can actually see the person at the back making it. They're open 24/7 for those early morning donut cravings. Also, the people who work there are super nice. Once in a while, they throw an extra donut when buying a dozen. :) The price is the same as the other shops in Modesto.

    (5)
  • Katie Q.

Best doughnuts in Modesto hands down! I love to get the crumb raised, and the glazed old fashion. My friend and my son like to get the devil's food and the baked cinnamon roll. Get there early for best selection.

    (5)
  • Lee Q.

If there's a better donut shop within 100 miles I certainly have never found it. This place hands down has the best donuts. Unlike many places where the donuts can taste greasy, Mr T's donuts are light and fluffy. Be sure to have a big glass of milk because these donuts are so good you might eat a dozen by yourself.

    (5)
  • D. S.

The best donuts I have had in a really long time! Great service and delicious doniuts! Great for a special treat.

  • Alisha H.

Best donuts, ever. Especially if you go in between midnight and 1am and get the hot and fresh donuts! When I still lived in the area, I took a trip to Portland and was asked to bring Mr Ts with me! My friend was incredibly grateful when I handed her a bag of donut holes. I have been craving Mr T's and plan on indulging in a donut or two when I go back to visit.

    (5)
  • Janie J.

Best donuts in town! My favorites are the blueberry old fashioned and the apple fritter. Also, they will customize their donuts if you special order them...for my birthday I was surprised with pink glazed blueberry old fashioned donuts! yay!

    (5)
  • Jeannette W.

I love stopping here for a doughnut. Or two. Mr. T's has doughnuts of all sizes, shapes and colors making it hard to choose. If you are lucky to get one fresh out of the frier, you will think you had died and gone to heaven. Check out their schedule so you can get yours fresh off the press. It's worth staying up into the wee hours for.

  • Andrea S.

I've eaten a lot of donuts in my time... Im going to say Mr. T's is one of my favorites. And although im usually drawn to basic glazed donuts... when I come here, its alllll about the cakey ones! devils food with sprinkles? AMAZING. but the real winner? old fashioned glazed. Oh. My. Gawd. SO AMAZING. It tastes like your eating crispy, cream cheesey, sweet, creamy deliciousness! they are especially delicious when its 1 am and youre a little under the influence. :) anywyas... eat donuts from there, they are deelish! :)

  • Tori H.

My friends and I have been coming here since our high school days. Of course, the donuts are delicious and cooked 'round the clock so something is always fresh. Mr. T's is a staple of Modesto and almost every local will tell you that you've got to have the donuts there. The people who work here are so warm-hearted and friendly that they always ask me how things have been. I can't come home without making a trip to Mr. T's to meet up with old friends and have a delicious taste of home!

    (5)
  • Renee S.

I grew up with this donut shop and absolutely love it. They have a great variety here of different donuts. All are made fresh daily and are soft and fluffy. Also, this place is open 24 hours and is not only convenient but of really good quality IMO. The workers are friendly and helpful and I have never been disappointed with this place. Though I don't live in Modesto anymore I am sure to visit here at least once anytime I come back home to visit my family.

  • Karen G.

I was in a donut mood this morning. So of course I had to stop by Mr. T's to get my fix. Service was super duper quick despite there being a line. The lady who assisted me had a huge smile on her face and seemed happy to be at work. Now that is something I admire, especially since I'm so not a morning person. I ordered six glazed donuts (not all for me, duh) to share with my coworkers. They always appreciate it when I bring in treats to share. I could not wait to get to work so I could enjoy one of the fluffy, yummy donuts with a cup of hot green tea. I figure the antioxidants in the green tea helped to balance out all of the naughty things in my donut. ;)

  • Just Me B.

just an ordinary donut shop nothing special. I would go back but the reviews about this place are way over inflated. The donuts here are the same donuts you can get at any shop.

Love this place. Employees are super friendly and doughnuts are just amazing! Closest thing to Krispy Kreme!!

    (5)
  • Evangelina P.

great donuts....possibly the best ones I have ever had. Great local mom and pop shop. They are open 24 hours! I have brought many a donut to my office from here...perhaps I can attribute my fellow co workers bulging bellies to Mr. T's? Love this place.

Nice location. Kinda cool to see them making the donuts. It's always scary when you have no idea who is making them, and what the conditions are like. Oh, and the bow tie donut is great!

    (5)
  • Kimberly M.

This donut shop takes the cake or should I say takes the donut... One of the things I love most about this place is they are open all night.....so if you happen to be craving something sweet and the cupboards are bare at 2 a.m., head on over to Mr. T's and get yourself a nice warm, fresh donut. Yum!

    (5)
  • Britt A.

Must have come on an off day. The boo and I came here to see what all the fuss was about, and were soo disappointed. There was like five donuts to choose from, and the ones we ended up getting didn't amaze us, it was a regular donut. Maybe we should give it another chance, but then again it's all the way across town and We's is right down the street.

    (1)
  • Ryan S.

BAM! 5 Stars. Never had a better donut EVER! If you want do it up like a pro go to Mr. Ts at about 2am on any given day and get those warm fresh delicious donuts straight out of the oven. Order a maple bar or one of those giant cinnamon rolls with maple or chocolate on top.... then head to the gym and spend the next four hours exercising it off. I promise it is worth every minute on the elliptical. If you are planning to eat yourself into oblivion or looking to have a spiritual awakening... or both... then make this your first stop on your path to enlightenment.

  • Caylynn H.

I had some great midnight donuts from this place. They were different than the type of donut I'm used to: cake-like instead of brioche-like, and greasy as hell in the best possible way. Their late night selection left something to be desired, though. I suppose I caught them at the wrong time. If you have the misfortune of finding yourself in Modesto, give this place a go.

    (4)
  • Ginger M.

I rarely eat any type of junk food and when i do its chocolate.. On the rarer occasion ill just crave a doughnut. When i do the ONLY place to go it Mr. T!! Completely worth my travel of 20mins to go there. If you haven't been then go! How can you go wrong with a 75cent doughnut

I like this place... a lot. This place is open 24 hours and when I got here at 10am on a Saturday this place was packed. I can easily understand why though... you can smell the donuts from the parking lot. Luckily I got a parking spot in the front and I saw people in their cars eating their donuts. When you walk in there are friendly people at the counter ready to help you. I got a dozen donuts for $7.75 and I've never seen such a wide variety of donuts anywhere. They even have different sizes of donuts just in case you want to try something but not get too full off of one. (For example. I love apple fritters but I usually don't get them because they're so big, but at Mr. T's you can buy small ones for only a $1) If you're ever in Modesto try this place out and I recommend the old fashioned blueberry and cinnamon rolls.

Yum, their Cinnamon Twist are awesome. Especially with girlfriends and red wine after dinner on Friday Night. Great little place, a very different experience than your regular mom and pop donut shops with the stale oil smell. This place is very nice. Love it!

This is a true donut shop. Perfect. That says it all.

Seriously, the only way this place could get better is if they offered free liposuction after consumption of these incredibly fantastic donuts. I have fond memories of being a child and getting a couple of donuts and a chocolate milk before school. Unfortunately I still have the same eating habits, but regardless of that anecdote this place is fucking sweet. Everything is tasty, cheap and fast...as it should be! Oh yeah and they are open 24/7 so if you ever get the munchies, they got your back.

Best donut shop in town- worth passing your surrounding shops to drive an extra minute for this one. You can call to find out when they started making them so you can see how these stand out from the rest when straight out the oven. I even know of some companies driving from different cities to get quality baked goods. Staff are friendly and are open 24 hours.

Ah Mr. T's Dounuts... It's been an early morning staple in my life since I was a little boy. We used to live two blocks from here and would routinely walk over here early in the morning for a fresh doughnut covered in sprinkles and ice cold milk. Ah the memories! These days I prefer a nice cruller or apple fritter with a strong cup of joe. There are no better doughnuts in town. Enjoy!

  • K R.

Just ask for "what's fresh" and you won't be disappointed. The ones we ate right away were some of the best donuts I've ever had. The ones we brought home were good, but they start to "lose it" quickly. Great place. I'm going back soon.

I really don't know what Mr T's Delicate Donuts could do to get any better. Wait, I just came up with something: hire the REAL Mr. T to sell their donuts. I'm sure the guy could use the work...especially after getting snubbed for that "A-Team" movie that's supposedly in the works ( moviesblog.mtv.com/2007/… ). They clearly can't do anything to improve the donuts (or doughnuts, if you prefer)! They're fresh, delicious, sweet, flaky little tori from heaven! I absolutely LOVE their cinnamon rolls - full of cinnamon goodness, light glazing rather than the thick, heavy, cream cheese frosting some places like to slather on top! So good! Old fashioned, raised, bars, filled, holes...they pretty much have 'em all! My family always enjoyed these sweet little confections for breakfast, and when I got my own wheels in high school I frequently hit up Mr. T's for some late night sugar fixes with my pals. Now that I've moved away, I really miss Mr. T's treats, and it's on the top of my list of a half dozen or so spots I always try to return to when I'm back in the old stomping grounds. Yeah, the prices may have gone up a bit since the good ol' days, but come on $0.50/donut (when bought by the dozen) is a screaming good deal for donuts this good!

One of Modesto's best establishments, and definitely known by everyone. Seriously, if you live in Modesto and have never been, you're missing out --even if you don't like donuts. To come here is a rite of passage for most teens/20-somethings (such as myself). There are plenty of regulars (myself included) and never a dull moment. Also, within the last few years they did some upgrading and it looks great. Mister T's is wonderful!

  • Dee L.

The best donut place around Modesto. I love the cinnamon bun covered with chocolate. Always busy so the majority of the time you're able to get fresh donuts .

  • Venus L.

When you come to Modesto, you have to try Mr. T's. If you live here, you know it's the best donut place in town. The prices are pretty good and the quality is of course the best. No other place in Modesto compares. It's a small shop but there's a sitting area where you can have your coffee, milk, tea, or juice and donuts.

Best donuts in Modesto! Open 24 hrs!

  • Pete S.

I HATE THIS PLACE! It should be illegal for donuts to be this good. I really don't need fried flour, sugar, maple flavor, sugar glaze, custard, etc. to taste this good. And, they're always open, they sell these devils in disguise at cheap prices, and they're friendly and helpful. Put these people in jail where they are powerless to add to my waistline.

    (5)
  • Di L.

Everything about this place is good. The person upfront was really nice & helpful. The donuts are definitely fresh! That beats all other donut places. :)

  • Francisco G.

When is a doughnut not a do not? When it's not from Mr. T's! This is the place for impressing your new work buddies. As a new employee, wake up a little earlier and buy some doughnuts for everyone in your office. Do that and order a coffee box from Starbuck's and you're as good as gold. You will never be hated, unless you do evil things and backstab everyone. Then maybe someone will hate you. And even then, people will say... You mean doughnut guy? Noooooo!

I love to suport Mom and Pop shops. I think it is great for our community but the food/sevice has to be good or it's good bye mom and pop, hello Dunkin Dounts. Not the case here!! To keep up with being the most popular girl in the office, I occasionally stop at Mr. T's Donuts and bring donuts in the office on my way to work. Just kidding- they love me with or without donuts! The donuts here are so soft and amazingly melt in your mouth. The service is wonderful, friendly staff and decent prices. They get a little busy before 8 am so don't stop if you're running late unless your boss is generous with your time like mine is since I have 3 kids to get ready before heading to work.

I almost flagged the 2-Star review for this place as spam, cause that's just BS. This place is amazing. They are so fresh all the time and everyone is super friendly.

24 hours of donut action. And a very tolerant cashier of folkloric, rowdy kids.

My best friend is a HUGE fan or Mr. Ts. He will honestly call me at 2 am and tell me that it is time for Mr. Ts. The donuts are good and when they are fresh, they are super super tasty. The people working there are always nice and happy. Here is why you get only 4 stars and not 5... One day, about 4 years ago, my best friend showed up at my house at 11pm and told me that he is on his way to Mr. T's and that I got lucky because he thought of me and now I can enjoy the adventure with him (I really don't like donuts that much). I went with him anyways because it was obvious that he needed company. He got a donut and I decided to not get one. We sat together while he ate it in the parking lot, on the sidewalk. He ate it in about two bites and just got up and ran to his car. I just thought "WTF?" and I followed him. He got into his car and started driving circles around me. I either had to run to try to get in the car or I had to ran to avoid him hitting me. In this midst of chaos I ran straight into a big concrete block they have in the parking lot where the light posts stand. I got a huge gash on my thigh. Now whenever I see Mr. T's... I see that scar on my leg and can't help but to give you 4 stars.

Wow... amazing! When Krispy Kreme hit town i thought they were amazing... but i must have been disillusioned by the shiny, fancy machinery they had to make their donuts. but this place has nothing on krispy's. Absolutely the best donuts around! Friendly people! The best part is that when ordering a large order... like 30 dozen... they quality is the same throughout! And their open 24 hours... can't go wrong there!

Fresh donuts, creative flavors, wonderful textures, and open all day and all night! The family that owns Mr. T's is doing a great job! You know it's good from the huge variety of people who come here--including the more discerning police officers of Modesto. ;)

While I am still a devoted Mr. T's fan, I have to deduct a star. Bummer. I was in there this morning for my daughter's birthday donuts. For those of you who have kids in the Salida School district, your aware that absolutely NO home-made baked goods are welcome! Damn. So instead of gross overpriced store cupcakes with a pound of fake sugar frosting, my daughter opts for Mr T's. The prices have gone up. I believe a dozen used to go for just under $6. Now a dozen is $7.25. Absolutely no price break for buying multiple dozen (is that proper grammar), not even a bag of donut holes to soften the price gouging. (I know a few other shops that do both). Also they charged me to use my ATM, who the hell carries cash anymore??!!? Geeze. And while I bitched this morning about all of the above, I still paid and even ate a donut. Damn your Mr T's for making the best donut eva!

    (4)
  • Amber E.

You have to make damn fine donuts to afford being open 24/7! I couldn't imagine donuts so good to afford this until I went there. I'm absolutely STUCK on the Bavarian Creme donuts. I don't really do sweets that often, but Mr. T's has converted me to a weekly donut as a treat. Delicious, hot and fresh!

  • Kristin P.

Growing up in the wonderful bread basket called Modesto...you learn where the best of the best reside. In this case....donutty goodness. Everyone local knows that Mr.T's has the best, constantly fresh and cheap donuts, and the people who run it haven't changed a thing about it over the many years they have been open. I worked for Papa Murphy's from my Junior (2008) year in high school till the end of 2007 (I know right?) in several locations. When I worked mornings at the Tully rd Papa's, I became quite fond of my friends at Mr. T's. You can truly appreciate Mr. T's in the morning, afternoon or evening. They are the best!

    (5)
  • Travis S.

They're okay. But highly overrated. Not as good as We's Donuts, but the best donut I've had is definitely not in Modesto.

  • Steven Z.

It's kind of tough to be critical of a donut shop. I guess if the donut shop didn't have my favorites then I would would out a sugarless sad panda however that has NEVER been the case here. Mr. T's always has a wide and fresh selection of delicious goodies. They have never been closed anytime I've ever driven by or stopped by for a guilty pleasure. A Modesto landmark to me.

  • Duane C.

Best donuts in Modesto. It's where the cops go, how much more of an endorsement do you need? Those guys look like they know a good donut when they see one!

    (5)
  • Joy K.

Mr. T's Delicate Donut Shop isn't really a fantastic hang-out, since there is hardly ever any available seating, but the donuts are fabulous! They always seem to be hot and fresh right around midnight snack time. Yum! Unfortunately, they charge for debit/credit, so don't forget your cash.

    (4)
  • Jeffrey N.

Donuts were great, fresh and chewy. I'm from florida where there is a dunkin donuts or krispy kreme at every corner, but here in california it is not the case. This place served as a great substitute

  • Chad B.

Honestly the best doughnut shop i have ever been to. OPEN 24 hours. Thats all you really need to know. These guys put Krispy Kreme out of business. There's so much i want to say about this place. When the doughnuts are fresh they cant be beat period. If these guys were in the city they would be raking in the cash but god bless them they are content with the valley. If you get there around 1 am thats usually the golden hour and you can find many fresh warm gooey treats for yourself. Try the applesauce doughnut its amazing! I love Mr. T's and i want you to love them too.

I have been coming here since I was a little girl, My favorite memories are coming here with my mom and dad and looking in the case and picking out a sweet treat. Mr. T's still holds a special place in my heart and stomach. Really, if you live in Modesto, this is the Donut shop to go to.

Krispy Kreme who? Mr T's is by far one of the best Donut shops in Modesto. There Maple Bars are too die for. Well, maybe not that far but for sure they make a fresh, good size donut. It's one of those hometown places you can go where every body knows your name.

I have been a fan of Mr. T's for what has to be over 20 years. I am not sure if it is the donuts or the fact that you can get them any hour of the day. Either way, this is the best donut place I have had the pleasure of enjoying.

    (5)
  • T S.

Mr. T's donuts is the best place for donuts in Modesto. Large variety, Clean, Good customer service when I go there. The ONLY problem I have noticed and a few other people I have talked to is....the donuts give me a stomache ache and I get gassy, but its only from Mr. T's....

    (4)
  • Bev J.

How can you not love this place simply for it's name alone? I pity the fool who buys donuts elsewhere! Great selection, good prices. There's one employee who has apparently undergone a lobotomy and mixes up maple with chocolate, but otherwise best donuts in town. My only other beef is that they need a real espresso machine so I don't have to go to Starbucks for coffee with my donuts.

    (4)
  • Rachel M.

Heard this place was good but was really disappointed. They are a small place, which is ok, but they don't have very much variety. The donut I got was small, hard, and dry.

    (2)
  • Dave W.

I feel like i give 5 star reviews too liberally sometimes, but Mr. T's deserves 6. I've petitioned yelp to add a 6th star specifically for this donut shop. if they do not respond within 2 weeks (336 hours), I will begin the litigation process. Lawyers are standing by, folks.

The ONLY donut shop I will eat at in Modesto! They are always clean, fresh, friendly people. The rest of the donut shops around Modesto are nasty hole in the wall looking places. I agree that some "hole in the wall" spots can have really good food.. But when it comes to donuts, there is nowhere else but Mr T's in Modesto that's great!

    (5)
  • Jason F.

I've been coming here for 35 years! They are by far the best in Modesto. Nothing better than a freshly fried chocolate old fashioned.

  • Alan F.

If you want donuts in Modesto, you come here. Nothing can hold a candle to the amazing donuts found at Mr. T's. I mean come on, this is the place that single-handedly put the Modesto Krispy Kreme out of business! Excellent donuts, a moderate selection of drinks, and very affordable. This review might be the shortest review I've yet to give for such a great place, but nothing more really needs to be said! Forget the other donut shops in Modesto, this is the only one you need.

    (5)
  • Rob P.

They are way better then anyone else in town! Also if your up late partying (it happens) they're 24/7! Enough said!

    (5)
  • Arianna G.

The doughnuts are delicious and cheap. The place is open all the time. I literally went there an hour into the fifth of July and they were open and had other people there. They are always ready for customers and I don't think there's a doughnut lover in town that doesn't love mr. t's!

    (5)

These guys don't mess around! Hands down the best donuts I've ever eaten. i will recommend them to all my friends! Miss you guys!

MAPLE. BACON. DONUT. While this needs no elaboration, I must say that this was the best donut that I have ever put in my mouth. Super fresh and light maple bar, with tons of fresh cooked and chopped bacon on top. Definitely a big step up from your average donut shop. Of course, if you're from Modesto, you likely already know this, or you've had a half dozen of your friends and family tell you this. They've been in Modesto forever, and everyone pretty much agrees that they can't be beat.

    (5)
  • Nicole G.

Fresh delicious donuts. Literally fresh out the oven as we arrived this place is open 24 hours and get very busy at all hours. Try the chocolate bow tie it's amazing tasty.

  • Reasonable P.

Now $9 dozen regular. $9.75 if you use debit. Regular is standard raised, and almost nothing else. I Used to love this place. quality is different now. They thinned out their chocolate and maple frosting. service is not as good anymore and they want to charge you .75 for a cup of tap water, .75 if you want to pay like most people do with your debit. I think every doughnut is "premium" because it was $30 for 2 dozen doughnuts, and 3 drinks. The receipt isn't itemized. This means they can charge whatever, whenever. I don't think that they can legally do that. I can honestly say, I won't be back. Also, we sat down and the cashier promptly came out to pull out tables apart. apparently they don't allow that. Although the previous patrons who moved them together got away with it. or maybe they paid a $5 move your table fee. Quality, when they pull from the back the doughnuts are good. otherwise, it's a gamble. I don't think they ever throw any doughnuts away. I was clear that I was less than happy with my visit. apparently, the cashier couldn't care less. This Modesto icon is getting too big for its britches!

    (1)
  • Denton A.

The donuts here are absolutely amazing. They're always fresh since they're always being made (place is open 24/7), they have a great selection, and they're inexpensive. Sometimes the staff could be friendlier, but they're never rude. This place is a must for donut lovers

    (5)
  • Dina D.

I found this donut shop on yelp and the good reviews made me try it and I'm so happy that I did. The line was very long but they had so many friendly employees working that I didn't wait more then 5 minutes. I had to try the bacon maple bar and I'm so glad I did. I got to have one that was hot and it was way better then expected. Will go back for sure to try other items!

Mr T's was the fuel of choice for my Running Club during the Modesto Marathon after my posting pictures all over Facebook and Instagram. Of course after about 18 months of having my eye on Mr T's I was going to ''show off'' the goods to everyone. The place is fairly big inside and at around 4pm had a huge selection with a male worker in the kitchen making even more doughy goodness. Prices are cheap with a standard dozen being just $7.95, although it was tempting 4 was ample and came to just $3.75 - Blueberry Cake - 85c - Chocolate Cake - 85c - Cherry Cake ( yelp.com/biz_photos/mr-t… ) - 85c - Coconut ( yelp.com/biz_photos/mr-t… ) - $1.25 I have no shame in saying I ate them all myself over the next day and enjoyed every last bite. Fresh and not too sweet or greasy, I especially liked the soft doughiness of the Coconut (also filled with Coconut Cream), I'm more of a traditional Doughnut kind of person over the Cake style so it was of no surprise. The Lady working was friendly too and they also have their version of the Cronut also.. The Croissnut! ($2.25 each)

    (4)
  • Grant G.

Definitely the best doughnut shop in town and never fail to be the freshest and also not to mention open 24 hours! You can't beat that, and the environment always seems positive so that's a plus.

If your looking for the best donuts in modesto come here. Fast even when the line is out the door. Open 24 hours amazing.

  • Abigail L.

This place has great hours. I came here around 9:30 pm with my boyfriend at night and it was still open. I got the maple bacon donut bar and some donut holes. The donut holes were denser than I expected but still very good. The maple bacon donut bar was delicious, the bacon gave the donut the perfect amount of saltiness to balance out the maple sweetness. Yum. The service here was also very good, I walked in and the girl behind the counter was very attentive and took our orders quickly and we were in and out of there in less than 5 minutes.

    (4)
  • Alexi F.

Go here if you love artificial tasting donuts. Gotta love dry flaky frosting and overly greasy dough. Employee literally gave me the worst looking maple donuts there. If Gordon Ramsey was served this donut he'd shove it right back in the servers face. Can't believe I paid 3 dollars for two "maple bars" that ended up tasting like two stale hotdog buns.

    (1)
  • Jesse G.

I absolutely love this place. The donuts are always fresh, and the employees are always very nice. The thing I love most about this place is the small town feel to it. Early mornings are always filled with older individuals and later during the night filled with the younger generation. If you've never tried it, make sure you go at around 2-3am so you can get the fresh donuts right off the cooling racks. It's to die for. I will always support Mr. Ts over any other donut location in modesto.

    (5)
  • Josh K.

Always fresh and always open. They always have your signature donuts as well as a variety of others, including maple or chocolate bars with bacon or cronuts (a croissant-donut). Their jelly filled donuts are awesome too, and includes flavors like raspberry, lemon and blueberry. Forget your overpriced Dunkin' Donuts and Krispie Kreme, Mr. T's Donuts is the best place to get your morning (or evening) donut. Any REAL native to Modesto knows this is the place to go.

    (5)
  • Shane R.

open 24/7. clean. really friendly. fresh - they are baking them right in front of you. not overly sugary. just the right fluffiness. glazed buttermilk and chocolate french were so good. probably the best donuts i've ever had. i don't see why you would ever go to dunkin donuts across the street.

    (5)
  • Jen W.

So...I'm a little confused by all the rave reviews. This particular donut shop was your usual run of the mill business. The staff was friendly...but I find that most donut shop employees are. There is definitely a mom and pop feel...but that doesn't make it anymore deserving of additional stars. The donuts were ok. We picked 4 different ones which didn't have any wow factor. Prices were typical. Nowadays, with so many donut shops trying to make it and up against places with cronuts and bagnuts, amongst other items...something needs to stand out. Unfortunately, I didn't find that here. 3 stars.

My best friend lives in Modesto, and we decided to go out for a donut like we used to in our college days and he suggested Mr T's as this is apparently THEE donut place in Modesto. Upon arrival, I noticed a Dunkin' Donuts opened right across the street. That's a strange marketing tactic as Mr. T's had a lot of people walking in and DD's had the occasional car drive up. Walking in, the place is a legit donut shop and quite the large operation. They've got people making large racks of the donuts in the back and the display case is full of nice looking donuts. They are more the traditional looking donuts rather than all the fancy ones a lot of the shops in L.A. make. Though, they were out of most of their popular flavors when we arrived around 9:00 PM. I got two donuts. My standard crumb donut because there's nothing like a crumb donut if I have to eat one, and now I can't remember what the second one is which is probably a good thing because it was sort of a let down. They claimed it was fresh and I was questioning that while I ate that one, but the crumb donut was really good. We also got our wives a couple of apple fritters to go. Came back to my buddy's house and the girls started eating their fritters. My wife's fritter was rock hard and slightly burnt on the outside :( Not the best first impression. I am open to giving this place a second shot the next time I'm in Modesto and going at a time when the donuts are fresh as I see a lot more potential here than my first experience. Prices are cheap and the staff take pride in their donuts which I appreciate.

I've lived in Modesto for 10 years and this is the first time I've tried Mr. T's. We usually just get our donut fix from Safeway or krispy kreme but lately I've been trying to support local businesses so I decided to come here. I tried the coconut creme filled. The donut was great! It melted in your mouth and was perfectly gooey. The creme however just tasted like a plain custard, there wasn't much coconut flavor in it. I got a sprinkles donut for my nephew. I hate sprinkle donuts but I took a bite and it was great! The donut part was very soft and moist and better than other sprinkles donuts I've had. A few hours later there was an extra glazed donut that hadn't been eaten so I volunteered to down it lol it was good. It wasn't the most amazing glazed donut I've had, but it was great. I'll definitely be back. Also the customer service is A+ I am a very indecisive person and the woman behind the counter was super nice and patient with me.

  • Brian J.

These are the best donuts I have ever had. THEY EVEN MAKE A BACON COVERED MAPLE BAR!!!!!! The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because every time I go there it take 20min to even order because the line is out the door and down the street. I honestly have left and gone to the donut shop across the street because of the line. I should say when I do this (leave) I am never satisfied and am left wanting because no one compares to Mr T's.

The main selling point here is the doughnuts. You have soft, gooey, sugary, fat goodness that melts in your mouth. The quality and freshness oozes off these amazing doughnuts! Plus get a bold, hot coffee to wash it down with and you're set! This location is easily accessed off Standiford or Tully, there is ample parking, and indoor seating. The service is accurate and speedy. They are open 24 hours, and if you go later on the evening pickings are slim but whatever you get will still be good. I'm not a night owl but I hear tell they bake the doughnuts late night and if you want the freshest to go then. I usually find mid morning doughnuts to be exceptionally fresh. My recommendation are any of the raised doughnuts, especially classic glazed or the sugar coated. Seriously the best doughnuts I've had in town!

I can't believe I've never written a review of this place!! It is simply one of the best donut shops I've ever been to! Standouts include: - glazed old fashioned (which I think are the best I've ever tasted, PERIOD!) - any of their raised donuts (especially the raised crumb) - maple bacon logs - apple sauce cake donuts - apple fritters A special mention goes out to their version of the cronut! They were gone for a while, but because of popular demand, they are back!! Simply amazing!! Service is nice. It can get busy in the mornings, especially on the weekends, but I urge you to check it out! You won't regret it! Or maybe your waistline will if you inhale 4 donuts in 5 minutes like I just did this morning :)

Since I was a child I have never really been a fan of pastries, doughnuts, sweets however I have and always will love and never turn down a Mr. Ts doughnut run! It's a MUST VISIT and you will never be disappointed.

It's so hard to believe that a Dunkin Donut dared to move in across the street from Modesto's iconic Mr Ts! Even so, there is no indication that the "corporate donut place" is honing in on Mr Ts territory ! The line out the door, the fresh donuts flying off the counter , and the "cha-ching" of the cash register prove that this is THE ONLY PLACE IN MODESTO TO GET YOUR DONUTS! To my Portland Voodoo friends...they even have a Maple Bar with bacon.

Awesome donut shop I found in Modesto. It has a variety of Donuts and also has Cronuts. The place has plenty of seating and also a lot of parking. They have a unique flavored of donuts like the Maple Bacon bars. I also like the coconut creamed filled donut. All of the donuts I tried are good and the people who work here are also awesome. It definitely makes it worth the trip over in M Town. It is also open 24 hours for you late night birds.

I've been here so many times that I can't believe I never wrote a review on Mr.T's Donuts. Either that or it was user error and I hit cancel instead of post. Anyways, they are hands down the Best of the Best donut shop in the Stanislaus County & Greater. They make their donuts Fresh every day. Even the older donuts that were baked earlier in the day taste fresh! For the best Experience ever, go there at Midnight when they make the newest spanking batch and tastes them hot out of the oven! Don't forget to blow cool air into the donut before you bite. Dunkin'Donut and Krispy Kreme has nothing close to them.

Holy donuts Batman! It should be said that before I experienced Mr. T's, I hadn't eaten a donut in a good long while... On this weekend morning visit we bought a couple dozen to take back home for breakfast for four adults, one teenager, and three other small persons. Demolished those donuts. Their original glazed in UNREAL. Melt in your mouth good... Fluffy, sugary (but not too sweet), just the right texture... Delicious. I was a little worried about the chain that was going up across the street, but none is needed I have come to find. You want a good donut? Visit Mr. T's, because Mr. T's is legit.

Came here for the first time this past Saturday for a serious donut craving at 1am (lol), mainly because DD's across the street was closed. Glad I tried it out! Donuts are so good and the donut holes just melt in your mouth! Would def come back here!

Best donuts in town. When you get there really early and they're still warm...yumm. Is it bad that this is the one thing I miss about living in that side of town?? I will drive across town just to get Mr. T's for the kids. Instead of cupcakes and cookies for their birthdays my kids want to take donuts to school. Love thus place!!!

Best donuts I've ever had. It even beat Voodoo Donuts in Portland! The maple bacon is my absolute favorite.

Donuts are good but minus one star for not accepting credit cards. They take debt but charge .75 cents to use it. Seriously just build the cost of the service fee into your pricing model. I swear places like this prefer cash only so they don't have to report true earning. Beside that the donuts are really good. I would also recommend to have an idea of what you want because the staff will rush you. This was the case with me.

I'm not a donut lover but the maple bacon bar stole my heart and on top of that the sugared cronut was super yummy when I microwaved it because I eat every layer one at a time so that I can savor every bite of it. That's just how I eat my croissants, so a nice touch of sweetness in my croissant is a perfect pastry for me.

Stopped by Modesto on the way home from the Sacramento area. I was craving donuts so I found this place on Yelp. Saw that it was rated 4.5 stars out of about 150 reviews! I knew that I had to try this place myself. Found the place easy enough. Walked in and was greeted right away by a friendly crew. There were some families eating at the tables. I was the only one in front of the donut displays though. Did not give me much time to decide what I wanted, but that was not a problem. I was only planning to buy 3 or 4 donuts at the most. My darn sweet tooth got the better of me! Everything looked awesome in the display cases, and the racks of fresh donuts stacked in the back made me crave them even more. I ended up purchasing 6 assorted donuts and a couple of crossnuts. The following is what I tried: 1. Custard filled Chocolate bar. I was not too crazy about the custard (or whatever was inside) the bar. (3 stars) 2. Regular Glazed donut. Thought it would just melt in my mouth, but it did not. Still pretty good. (3 stars) 3. Sugar donut was fine, but no "wow" factor either. (3 stars) 4. Maple bar was alright. Was not too crazy about their maple icing. (3 stars) 5. Apple sauce donut. I thought that I would really like this one. Instead, I found this little cake donut lacking in flavor. Could not taste any apple flavor at all. Disappointing! (2 stars) 6. Bacon Maple Bar. As I mentioned earlier, I thought the maple bar was alright. The bacon portion of this donut was not up to par. They looked like bacon bits that one adds to a salad. A whole slice of quality bacon would have been better. (2 stars) 7. Crossnuts. I believe that is what they call their version of the infamous "cronuts". Tried 3 different flavors of them. I thought that all 3 were quite good. The regular glazed crossnut was my favorite. I even had one a day later, and it still tasted yummy. (4 stars) Overall, I think that Mr. T's Delicate Donut Shop is a good local spot! They are, obviously, very popular with the locals. After paying for my sweets, I was shocked to see a line out the door!! I noticed that it looks like Dunkin will be coming soon nearby. From what I have tried so far, Mr. T's is much better than DD. Maybe, I have been too picky with Mr. T's. I was just expecting to be absolutely in awe of the place because of the very high Yelp rating. I expected more because of this. Would I return here again? Absolutely! I am sure that I would find some other donuts here that I really liked. If I was also a local, then I believe I would be a regular too.

Mr T's has always been a favorite around town. I remember when the real Mr T owned it (Trinidad) is what the "T" stands for. I was friends with his son. Either was the place now is still very busy and prices are great. I would recommend over the Dunkin Donuts across the street which will soon be out of business.

Bacon covered maple bar. Best thing you'll ever taste. Support local business. This place is the best for good reason: good service and food!
