This place is awesome! It doesn't taste like fast food at all. Loved it & we will be returning!! The portions were huge too! Can't wait to go back!!

We stopped going to Dickey's because of the fly problem and the temperature of the meat. It was never hot enough. We complained to the workers, but they didn't seem to care, so we stopped going.

This is the dirtiest nastiest place I have ever been. There is food and dirt everywhere. The floor is nasty. I think there was about 50 Flys in the eating area fighting me for my food. I know modesto is the city of Flys and people there do not mind them but I think it's gross. I had to eat outside it was so nasty inside.

I have had barbecued ribs in the past at this restaurant but today I only stopped in for a sandwich for lunch and what I received was a total disappointment. The bun tasted like it was old, it was not properly toasted, and the brisket was so overcooked that it was dry, I could not eat it. Unfortunately I had taken the sandwich to go and was too far away to return it.

So I just posted a photo of my salad bowl. And on the bottom of not only mine but my bfs salad is brown/black water spots. That tells me they do not clean the lettuce and that is absolutely disgusting. I love dickeys but this makes me sick.

Family an I love the turkey an brisket! Customer service could be a little better but I totally understand being under paid an standing in a hot kitchen! But anyways FREE ICE CREAM thank you Dickys!

Went today and tried the baked potato with brisket inside the thing weighed over a 2 pounds!! It was amazing i will get another soon. So awesome lots of bacon cheese sour cream onions and MEAT!!

Definitely need friendly customer service, kill the flies and cleaner dishes, even if you're going for that "country" the place could use an overhaul. The rubs we ate were overdone and had that burnt-overlooked meet that was covered up in sauce. The sauce was delish, potato salad was ok, the beans tasted like out of a can and the corn bread needs to be changed. Will return when they fix it up.

We have eaten at Dickeys a few times in Manteca and it was great. We tried the one in Modesto and ordered ribs to go. The ribs were dry, crunchy, and very little meat on them. Very disappointed. Not sure we will eat there again. Way too expensive if the bbq isn't going to be good.

    (2)
  • Tisha H.

The food taste great. My husband was a little annoyed at the fact that the meals were too expensive and did not include a drink. I think they need to take more pride in making sure that the outside of our food containers are not lathered with barbecue sauce. In addition they need friendlier customer service people running the drive-through window.

I had the chicken and ribs plate with a side of barbecue beans and baked potato casserole. The chicken was moist and the ribs were fall-off-the-bone (and not too fatty). The side dishes were really good too. The original and spicy BBQ sauces are pretty bland compared to Armadillo Willy's or Texas Roadhouse. Still, it's a great place for lunchtime Texas Barbecue.

    (4)
  • Cindy B.

Way overpriced for what you get and they were out of 2 of the types for entrees I wanted.

    (2)
  • Colleen K.

Very good food, but for as some reason every time I eat there I have stomach issues so it's not a isolated incident. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Stopped in for a late dinner about 8:30pm - closing time is 9pm. They were out of all meats except for chicken, sausage, and ham. I purchased the picnic deal for $26 that comes with 1lb. of meat, 2 med. sides, and 4 rolls (feeds 2-4 people). Since it was near closing they allowed me to split the meat choice and I got half chicken and half sausage. The sausage was good and the chicken was ok. We had BBQ beans and Mac n cheese. There are 3 different sauces that you can help yourself to- spicy, original, and sweet; I liked the original. The meal was enough to feed 3 of us with good sized helpings. There is free soft serve ice cream which my daughter liked after trying the spicy sauce. Daily specials at $8.99 ~Kids eat free Sunday~

The food is decent especially since there aren't any other take out type BBQ places in Modesto. I have been here a handful of times. I usually get the same thing, Chicken BBQ Sandwich with Fried Ocra and Mac n' Cheese. The drive thru window employees are ALWAYS SO RUDE - like you are really bothering them! These girls ugly attitudes really bother me. It makes me not want to return. Also, check your fountain drink before you leave - mine has been water instead of Hawaiian Punch on 3 out of 5 visits.

Great smoking flavor on all meats. Good service, the amount of meat you'll get depends on the server. Good place if you're craving smoked.

After they ran out of pigsickles because of people pigging out last Friday, I acted like an absolute swine being so disappointed that I called Monday to see if they had a new supply of piggies eating all their ribs... Indeed, a few escaped the maddening crowd's attention so we hurried in, napkins and bibs at the ready -- and acted like a couple of pigs, hogging an entire rack to ourselves. Mmmmm. Is this place SRO every night? Great job, Dickey's! All is forgiven! (In all fairness, the individual who answered the phone last week who didn't tell us that they'd run out of ribs didn't know that. She was busy at the register and take-out window and no one informed her of the fact they'd run out of ribs as well, having run out of two other meats as well. She answered my inquiry to the best of her ability, honestly: she was doing her job. I apologized for my dismay at winding up empty-handed.)

This Dickies location is one of the better ones in Nor Cal. Portions are always a good size and food is always hot. Only thing is they sometimes forget utensils in the drive through. The Bakers are awsome a must try.

  • Trina S.

This place is fantastic!!!! If you hadn't tried you are missing out. To the one who complained they had to wait. So what if you have to wait a couple of extra minutes. ( which I have not had to do ) this SOCIETY OF fast paced "slap crap on a bun" just to get it you is so over rated. This is real food. Real quality and great place. It's not fast food. It's good food period. What else matters? So if you don't go your missing out. Must haves; the fried okra and potato casserole. And the soft serve ice cream. Well YUM ALL AROUND. This is my new favorite place to eat BBQ and I hope they keep plenty of okra in stock!

Great food! Wish place was bigger and seating arrangements need work. A bit over priced too but good food. I also like the all you can eat soft serve ;)

We found a new favorite place to eat! We love their food and I can't say enough about the excellent service! Everyone there is kind and upbeat~ Tonight I called in my order and took forever to order cause I wasn't sure what I wanted. Tori was OUTSTANDING!!! She was so so sweet, professional, patient and didn't rush me off the phone. I felt like her only customer and I could hear they were busy. I'm a lifer! I called to let the manager know and yet again, wonderful service by Crystal! You ladies ROCK! I have yet to have anything I didn't love at this place. It's on elf the reasons I drive to Modesto!

    (5)
  • Michael E.

Every time I go, I tell myself that this will be the visit that changes my mind, but sadly this just isn't good BBQ. Still, seems busy whenever I drive by, so either there's a lot of people who've never experienced great BBQ or I'm just hard to impress when it comes to this specific type of food.

Heard about Dicky's on the TV so first looked it up on Yelp. So many mixed reviews, some bad, some good, so decided to try it for myself. The down side was it was crowded and noisy, but I ordered a rib dinner with barbecued ribs and okra. Service was quick, considering the crowd. Ribs were tasty. I've had much better but no complaints, especially at that price. The sides were excellent, particularly the barbecued beans, and though the iced tea was a little sweat, I mixed in some unsweetened tea to make it perfect. There is also free soft serve ice-cream, but I passed on that. For what I got, I'd say the prices are fair and I will definitely be returning

We went there for the first time last night. First the good: The "baked potato casserole" was amazing. For $21 we were out the door with two dinners complete with beverage. We got a lot of food for the money. I couldn't finish my dinner, I was stuffed. Then the challenges: They didn't have enough workers. The lady took wife's my order, then got diverted to food preparation. 10 minutes later she took my order. I had the pulled pork & polish sausage combination sandwich. It was good, but not the kind of quality that makes me yearn to go back again. We'll go back at some point because it wasn't good. But it wasn't good enough to be considered a place we would visit regularly. By contrast, Armadillo Willy's in Dublin serves amazing quality BBQ food, and only charges a few dollars more.

    (3)
  • Eddie R.

The meat was juicy, we had turkey and brisket. The bbq sauce was also very flavorful, they also had a spicy version which was great. For a franchise bbq joint it's pretty good, but very pricey for the amount of food you receive. Also the employees are very nice and upbeat!

    (4)
  • April M.

Terrible ribs! I could tell they had sat there all day. Almost broke a tooth biting into a baby back rib! I called and the manager and all he wanted to do is argue with me. Couldn't care less that I was very disappointed. We tossed the food in the garbage! It's not cheap food! 40.00! Will NEVER go to the Modesto location or any others!

    (1)
  • Efrain H.

The only reason why I gave them 2 stars is because I really wanted the beef brisket and they gave me pork. I ordered a pound of meat to go and didn't look at the meat until I got home , so I paid 30 bucks on something I didn't want . The food is good and the service was good but they really dropped the ball on giving me the wrong meat cause I ordered a good amount of it. For the sides I ordered Mac n cheese and beans and they both taste pretty good , but I am upset about the meat and I live too far to go back .

    (2)
  • Negranza C.

The food itself was very good. The meat was very nicely cooked. What threw me for a loop was the price. A family meal that claims to feed 4-6 people was $50. It only fed 3 and we are not big eaters. The sides were small and the containers were not filled all the way to the top. They lacked almost an inch from the top!! For the price, those side containers should have been filled to the top. You should plan on spending about $15 per person even if you only get a sandwich with a side and a soda. For that price, I would rather have a sit down meal with a menu.

  • Elias G.

This place isn't half bad but sometimes I feel a little ripped off. Every since they took away the daily specials I stopped going unless someone else wants to treat me to lunch. Believe it or not, the brisket is unbelievably good when ordered for cater (just leave it whole, not cut, when you pick it up). My usual selects are chopped brisket and spicy cheddar sausage. Free ice cream when you dine in, great when you have kids. The employees have good customer service, except for the female manager with glasses. When going to the drive-thru the wait can be annoying but they have improved in the past year. Basically, if you want decent BBQ food and don't mind paying $12/$13 for each person then try Dickies... Just don't go too late or they'll run out of a few items on the menu before you get there. 3 stars

  • Courtney P.

I sure love this place. Sometimes it's hot in there but they have made it better. I love the pulled pork, jalapeño beans, and green beans. Did I mention complimentary ice cream?!

    (4)
  • Albert L.

I love the pulled pork sandwich, the waffle iron fries are really good also. BBQ beans excellent too.

I've never been to Dickey's but had heard so much about it, I thought I'd try it the last time I was in town, for Christmas. I got the beef brisket with the baked potato casserole and baked beans. The brisket was excellent, melt-in-your-mouth meat, which is rare. I've frequented many bbq places in SoCal, all claiming to have melt-in-your-mouth brisket or tri-tip, and I had yet to experience it. Dickey's brisket does not disappoint! It was good without bbq sauce, and even better with it! I was a bit disappointed, though, that there wasn't more of it. For $9.99, I got 1/4 pound of it (with the two sides), which I didn't feel was a great deal, or you can get more for $2 extra. The baked beans were good, and the baked potato casserole was just ok. It was more like mashed potatoes in a cup, with a few slivers of cheese and a handful of green onions. I was expecting it to be loaded with cheese and onions, like a loaded baked potato. Am also taking a star off for service. In the middle of placing our order, the guy taking our order started talking loudly to another co-worker, and we had to repeat everything. I thought that was rude. The girl ringing up our order was nice, but she was not overly friendly. Don't think I'll come rushing back the next time I'm in town, but if my friends or family want to eat here at some point in the future, I definitely won't object.

    (3)
  • Karen S.

We ate there for 2nd time. We were very disappointed. Our bill came too $30.00 for two orders of ribs. Could have eaten at outback for that price!

  • Luke S.

Great food, great atmosphere and great staff I love the cabin style setting. The building was nicely set up an had excellent decor. The food was spiced perfectly. Great family environment, yet you can still cause a ruckus. This place gets very busy but is very entertaining. I loved the silver plastic. I looooved the free ice cream. I got a bomb ass free huge yellow cup w my meal too.

  • John H.

If there were a better BBQ place 'nearby' I would not come here anymore! It just gets dirtier and dirtier! floors- dirty, windows - dirty, little glass panes between me and staff - dirty, sauce area - dirty, kitchen area - dirty, walls and cabinet doors - dirty, napkin dispensers - empty, sauce warmers - empty, air conditioner - not working well today, Now if you sit outside, while you're eating, you get to see sticky fly strips hanging overhead with dead flies all over them! Yummy! Not sure if this is a good trade off to live flies? Service - slow (2:45pm on a Sunday) 6 people in line ahead of me. I got the last of the ribs. Its was gonna be an hour and a half wait, for the poor lady behind me. Please Dickies corporate, step in here and regulate! How about Undercover Boss come here and be disgusted? My patience is running short as this place has had 15 months to get this right. Bad management at its finest!! In spite of all this, the food is still quite good! Maybe going through the Drive Thru 'blindfolded' is my answer?? There is a rumor that a Dickie's is opening in Turlock by a 'different franchisee'. Don't toy with me! (but I hope it's true!)

    (2)
  • Kathy S.

Just plain YUM! The meat was tender and delicious. The coleslaw could use some more seasoning. It is a bit pricey, especially for a family.

  • Lee Q.

It's hard to write a good review for Dickeys because their food quality is never consistent. Sometimes its great, 4 stars, more often than not its a 2. The temperature of their meats is never, and I repeat, never hot. Why in the hell can't a BBQ joint serve hot food? If they could overcome that fault they'd get far more business. The sides are good but once again food temperature is an issue. There's simply no excuse for it. The pricing isn't high as some state but given that food quality can be questionable, then it seems like a rip off. The free ice cream is a hit with everyone. It's not premium ice cream, but the fact it's included with your meal makes it better. The environment is a hot bed for flies. There hasn't been a time I've dined here that a fly hasn't pestered me while I was eating. They need to seriously do something about that. If the owner could crack the whip and figure out how to serve hot food, I'd dine here regularly. The meats really are good when they're hot and fresh. Be advised if you dine here after 7 PM the chance of them being out of several of their meats is very high. I guess they don't smoke enough meats to anticipate what their sales might be for the day. If you have kids and want to give Dickey's a try, come on Sunday. Kids eat free on Sundays. They can choose any 1 meat as their entree and it includes one side, a roll, and a drink. I've had mostly good service here but it wasn't enough to compensate for the lukewarm food.

  • Denice R.

Place was not BBQ but oven baked meat!! Opened my sliced brisket more like a piece of pot roast. Pulled pork was dry. Fried okra, baked potato casserole was good. Green beans were to oily. I will not be returning. Service was slow as molasses.

    (1)
  • Bella H.

Been here several times since my visit opening week. Every time the barbque has been tender and flavorful. The brisket is still my fav but the chicken is great too. Very moist. I concur that the prep and kitchen area usually looks like it needs a clean up but it doesn't faze me because this is the only place in Modesto that I can get this type of food and with fried okra no less! Free ice cream for desert is nice too. People that are saying it's expensive haven't been to other bbq places. This is priced better than most other bbq restaurants I've been to. I give it 4 / 5 stars because it could be cleaner. I'll keep eating here though. I love BBQ!

    (4)
  • Tracy H.

Good chicken, pulled pork, mac n' cheese and bacon green beans. Just a warning though, the online ordering got messed up - the manager was great though and asked what I was missing then gave me those items and a few extras and asked me if I would come back - you bet i will!

    (3)
  • Jim D.

EXPENSIVE Sauces were cold - REFRIGERATOR COLD in the warmers. Flavor of tyhe BBQ is good, nothing outstanding here.

    (3)
  • Richard G.

This place is just OK. I've had the advantage of not having to pay for Dickey's the 2 times I've tried them because the company I work for had them cater our lunches.I thought that the food was pretty good overall.I was really disappointed with the ribs though on both occasions. They were not very meaty. I did enjoy their brisket and pulled pork. I may try them again in the near future but we shall see.

    (3)
  • Bill M.

I truly know good bbq and this isn't it. The ribs were dry, the pulled pork and brisket had no flavor. I could not taste the difference between the two meats. They get 2 stars because the service was friendly and I liked the Cherry Coke. The sides were okay, but is that really why you go to a bbq place?

    (2)
  • Meme O.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!! Finally a decent BBQ spot in Modesto. Staff is amazing and friendly. They defiantly have a owner who believes in customer service! The manager (middle aged woman) is mean, I'm sure she wont last, she defiantly dose not seem to mesh well! But hands down great food and good customer service!

    (5)
  • Carol S.

We should have read the reviews here first. The reviews are correct. Too many flies, overcooked pork, beef brisket, and ribs. Employees can't remember what is on the menu, and because of that, can't remember how to assemble a sandwich that is on the menu. Out of BBQ sauce, out of tea. While preparing the food the flies are crawling all over it. AND, NOT ONCE DID ANY OF US SAY......"YES, I'LL TAKE FLIES WITH THAT!" A VERY GROSS EXPERIENCE, NOT WORTH ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY. SKIP THIS ONE AND DRIVE THE ADDITIONAL MINUTES TO FAMOUS DAVES IN TRACY!

    (1)
  • Brittney T.

I didn't like it, the wait was too long. My ribs were still red the meat was not cooked long enough. Salad dressing was disgusting tasted like vinegar. Fries were not cooked long enough but I did love the free ice cream cone

    (2)
  • John S.

It shouldn't be this obvious, but it is. This is the proprietor's first attempt at owning a restaurant. Besides the bad location, long wait and poor service you've read in the other reviews, the overall feel of this place is rookie league. There may be ten employees working the line, but they can only make one plate at a time. Hence, the long wait. Had the ribs and brisket been served hot, they might've been good. But at room temperature, the meat tasted like it was cooked days earlier and had been sitting out for awhile. All of the barbecue sauce in the world didn't help. The soggy and limp fried okra and waffle iron fries had been cooked in a fryer that also wasn't up to temperature. The masked potato casserole and mac-n-cheese were okay--but really, it isn't difficult to make average side dishes (unless you request the jalapeno beans, which were not available because they were still cooking at noon on a Sunday). We ate outside because there were patrons camped out awaiting their friends at tables on the inside (one the entire time we were at the store). Outside we were joined by hundreds of flies. Take a bite, shoo the flies. Shoo the flies, take a bite, shoo the flies. The woman at the table next to us asked us what we thought of Dickey's. That's easy. We won't be back.

    (2)
  • Gia M.

Ordered the hot links, chicken breast & rib combo. Pretty basic nothing too fancy. Food had decent flavor. The green beans are delicious. Had the baked beans... Too sweet for me & the baked potato "casserole" was just loaded mashed minus the bacon. I'd come back. Service was good.

    (3)
  • Veronica G.

Tried Dickey's the other night for dinner. Ordered way to much for our little family of four, our eyes were truly bigger than our stomachs. Food was good, and hubby loves the pickles. A couple of complaints: I agree with some of the other reviewers the meat temp is a little cool, and the sides are OK. We ordered the potato salad, kind of bland and the onion rings. The kitchen/prep area is very messy. We will come back, but maybe for take out. =)

    (3)
  • Dan L.

This place is good and the ribs were great. I liked the sides and the rolls. It's great to have a new BBQ place to eat and free soft serve ice cream is a plus. I only take a star away for flies. I hate eating and trying to do battle with flies.

    (4)
  • Melissa S.

My husband and I came here twice now. It is good, but not great. We enjoy the complimentary pickles (which you ask for at the counter now) and soft serve. I recommend the pulled pork, ribs, and fried okra. The cheddar sausage was very greasy and the beans weren't anything special. I am still on the search for a great BBQ place in the valley.

    (3)
  • Margaret Y.

Mostly they are good. The chicken has been dry one out of the five times we've been. Potato casserole, okra, and Cesar salad are good consistently. Brisket is my favorite meat choice. I have tried the chicken (okay), pulled pork (okay), turkey (hammy), and ribs (dry). The wait can be long, and yes, flies are a problem, but if you go for take out, you'll probably be happy.

    (4)
  • Holly B.

Never again. Employees seem aggravated and annoyed. Two meat meal literally came with two nearly meatless ribs. Got Caesar salad as a side and employee said 'are you sure? It's pretty pathetic looking salad.' salad was grainy. Other meat was ok. Texas brisket was chopped up like he was mad at it. 23$ later for two people I would have rather gone to a sit down cafe. Not worth half of what we paid. Sides are mushy and flavorless. Cafeteria food is better.

  • Undre R.

The the baked potato casserole, okra and rolls were tasty . I could end the review there as those were the most memorable things...but I won't. The service was extremely slow, 6:30pm 2 people in line ahead of me and I easily waited in line 15 minutes an another 10 for my order to be ready. I ordered a family pack with pulled pork and sliced brisket, green beans, baked potato casserole, and fried okra. All sides we're ok, but the meat... the actual bar-b-que... the thing they are supposed the be famous for (Dicky's "barbeque" pit) was absolutely positively the WORST bbq that I have spent money on! No exaggerations. The sliced brisket looked like a pot roast the way it was falling apart. Falling apart so bad that it couldn't be sliced correctly, against the grain. Falling apart is good for some things but definitely not brisket, plus there was no smoke flavor and it was dry. The brisket gets a F on appearance and F on flavor. Pulled pork looked pretty good but was hella dry. Even after being drowned in bbq sauce there was no hope. The pulled pork gets a C on appearance and an F on flavor. I'm so disappointed I feel like putting the rest of this BS in the car and driving by there and throwin at their front window. But my wife opted to take the rest to work and put it in the breakroom...We don't like to waste food. 37 bucks down the tube. Never again.

  • Camille L.

NOT expensive. Two meat for $11 is cheap. So peoples reviews saying its expensive is stupid. There's no other BBQ in Modesto as good as this. I go here all the time with my hunny and for $11 you get two sides and two meats that have been smoked for over 12 hours. I would recommend the chicken for sure. I like the pulled pork, sometimes it's better than other times. The little bread you get is SO good. They have a variety of BBQ, I prefer the spicy one. If you like spicy it'll kick you :) id say the worst thing is possibly the fact that they're so famous that at busy times like Sunday afternoons, they sometimes run out of food. And drive through portions are smaller in my opinion. Baked potato casserole is BOMB

    (4)
  • Andrew M.

I love Dickey's. It's probably not good for you. It's probably not refined. It's probably not the place to go on a first date. BUT...it's good BBQ! Kinda reminds me of places back east. You really have to get the whole down home cooking thing to get it.

    (5)
  • Erik H.

Food was pretty good. A bit over priced. No soap in bathroom! Told manager and still no soap after eating! No ice in soda machine and no bbq sauce.

    (2)
  • Celenia A.

The chicken is the best thing there. They talk to you and hurry you through the line like your cattle. We spent about $15 per person which is the same price as a sit down meal at a legit steakhouse.

  • Debie M.

Normally I do not write reviews, however after waiting in their drive thru for over 35 minutes with only 2 cars in front of me, I felt the need to write. Timing: Rediculous! Ordered: Family pack(2 meats, 3 sides) and a potato Cost: $43.50 Food: Brisket - dry not so great, Polish Sausage - mushy, mac n cheese - looked like it sat there for weeks (needless to say, I did not even try it, my kids did not like it at all, wonder why) fried okra - good, waffle fries (soggy and tasted like they tasted horrible, how do you mess up fries?) baked potatoe was the only thing they had going for them. Recommendation to a friend: I wouldn't go back at all

Best BBQ place I have had the chance to eat at, but the prices are crazy but worth it!!

Well, when this place opened up a year ago I went and had the best mouthwatering ribs. One year later this Christmas eve I ordered ribs to go to feed several people. well he cook said oh i put in a few extra. Cool I thought and spent a small fortune on the slabs of ribs....took them home for company and the Ribs were like eating the bottom of my shoes. All the slabs were so overcooked that no meat was left just hard over cooked meat on the rib bones. Not much meat either. Quite a change from when they opened. Really bad! No one could eat them and because it was Christmas eve. I called them and told them . they said to come in after Christmas. so today I go back and see how they plan to satisfy my complaint. Bad food. They must have changed the type of ribs they stock up on because there isn't any meat just bones. The dog loved it!

  • Jason M.

For the love of god, buy a sponge and mop and clean that place up!! What a nasty, greasy mess. Fly strips hanging from the ceiling, food splattered all over the sneeze guard, the tables and chairs are greasy, and the Manager is slipping all over the kitchen floor in the back. The kids meal chicken nuggets were the Costco Dino-nuggets and the beans were cold. My brisket was completely dry and the BBQ sauce station had sauce spilt all over the counter. I'd give it 1 star if not for the kids eat free on Sunday promotion but Ill never go back again. Not even if kids get paid to eat on Sunday.

    (2)
  • Nicholas L.

Love the food, not sure if I will be coming back though, unless they can get rid of the flies in the dining room, this is the second time the flies have disturbed my meal

I don't see the excitement/hub-bub over this joint. It's just another mediocre chain. But we do like our chains in the Valley.

The ribs were delicious. The brisket & pulled pork a little dry but tasty. Okra & coleslaw delicious. BBQ beans tasted like pork & beans. If you dine in you get to make a free ice cream cone. We will go back! Welcome to Motown!

Food was not that great, the lines were way too long for something that was mediocre and the employees didn't seem like they knew what the hell they were doing. Do yourself a favor and take the extra time to drive to Tracy and go to Famous Dave's. It'll be worth it, trust me.

The brisket was really dry and lacked flavor. Ribs were fall off the bone tender but, hardly had any meat. The pulled pork was good. Jalapeno beans and mac & cheese were ok. Fried okra good and hot, could have used some seasoning. Mashed potatoes alright. Spicy bbq sauce was good. Soft serve ice cream, ehh. The service was not so good. With the whole gang of people behind the counter, they must of asked us five times what we wanted and kept getting our order wrong. I'm usually a patient person but, with all those people and being asked again and again the same question, it got annoying. Another thing, I noticed the manager walking through the dining area greeting all the customers. I thought, oh how nice of him! He walked to every table, chatted with them, serviced them by fetching them a drink, etc. He even greeted and sparked up conversations with the people standing in line. He seriously worked the whole room, glanced at our table a few times here and there and straight up skipped us every time he passed us by! No joke! LOL. Wth?!! I noticed it. My bf noticed it. Racist towards me maybe? I was with my bf and nephew, whom are both white. I am asian. Every other patron in there at the time was white. My bf pointed that out, not me. Too bad for the bad customer service from the manager (owner maybe?) or we might have given this place more business down the road. Not like the bbq is that good, you could definitely make better yourself at home but, for those times you just don't have time to cook, etc., we might have stopped by here a few times. Not anymore.

Great food, outstanding customer service, free ice cream and a very clean restaurant. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful as well. I'll be back for sure.

I am addicted to this place! Big servings, fast service and flavorful food. I noticed some reviewers labeling it as "expensive" to that I strongly disagree. For the amount of food you are getting the price is more than reasonable.

I was excited to try this place when it first opened then kinda forgot about it. My first time going the man at the speaker was helpful, however one question he asked was was what kind of BBQ sauce I wanted, he informed me the pulled pork sandwich has no sauce that t comes on the side. When I got home there was NO sauce at all so I basically had a DRY pulled pork sandwich How can you forget something so important as the BBQ sauce? You are a BBQ place!! Hello? Thank goodness I had BBQ sauce in my refrigerator. I will not be going back, if you can forget such a staple, you don't deserve my business!

This was horrible. I was in line 45 mins, then they messed up on my order and the manager wasnt around to correct it in the register. Fine. Get home and the food is cold and I only live 8 mins away, The brisket and porks ribs taste alike. Neither had flavor. The sauce was 85% vinegar so it had a sour note. NEVER AGAIN!!! but the fried okra was good.

For a fast food restaurant it's not very fast yet worth the wait. Cost is high for the meal

Arrived here on a weekday about 530 pm and they were out of almost all of the choices. We ended up walking out after waiting in line and there were other customers who walked out also. This was going to be our first time trying this place out but we definitely won't be back one of the guys was pretty rude too .

The 1 and 2 star reviews on here are full of it. However , I can understand their frustration with the waiting in line times, and the small portions. Apparently they are still figuring out how to deal with crowds, and being efficient at it. It's a new place, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. and hope that when I return they have worked it out better. The small portions- well, yes that is a shame, it does seem as though they could make them just a little healthier for the price charged. Yet I am still going with a 4 star rating here, because the flavor of the Chipped Beef Brisket and Pulled Pork was pretty damn good- and The green beans with bacon side was yummy, nice mac and cheese too. I just wish I didn't have to wait almost an hour for it. We missed our free ice cream and pickles, but will remember to order it next time!

I've been to Dickey's a few times cuz I live to give a place a chance. I have tried the pulled pork and the chopped brisket. I really like the brisket. It does seem amazing to me that after being open for several months now, the staff still seems only able to work on 1 plate at a time, even though there are 8 to 10 of them behind the counter. I would go back for the brisket, but I would get it to go since there are so many dead flies on the window sills, which is very unappetizing.

It's rare that I give a one start but this place bent over backwards for it. We were at this establishment for the last time this weekend. First off, let me say that the food was Good to ok. The ribs were pretty good, the mac and cheese, Not good (not quite finished from the box it came out of) and the soft serve was as consistent as water, pretty gross. The biggest reason for the one star was the wait, with two people in front of us it took around 27 min. to get our food, that was before the order was incorrect. The workers were nice but not attentive, one lady asked what my sides were going to be and immediately started talking to someone else while I responded. Then I was asked again, that was pretty rude/unprofessional for someones main job responsibility is to LISTEN and to explicitly Not listen is pretty bad. The place was pretty dirty too. I don't expect any place to be perfect but cleanliness where food is, is important. The people in line behind me were more unhappy than us and let everyone know it, for having to stand in line Much longer than me only to find out they were out of one of the main dishes on the menu. It all comes down to horrible management. The place Had potential to be something good and I will probably try another Dickey's in another location but not this one again. Let the free market let this one fail. I wish the management was better, but it's not. I do Not recommend waisting your money and especially your Time going to this establishment.

Heard this place has had long lines since opening, but that may soon change. For starters, this is a terrible, terrible location (former Taco Bell long ago, then Enterprise car rental company). The extremely small parking lot makes it hard to maneuver into drive-thru or even find a parking place for that matter (it doesn't help that a refrigerated semi is in said parking lot). From order kiosk to window was nearly 30 minutes, only three cars in front of us. Once at the window, you understood the presence of the semi parked outside - we counted 11 crew members in what looked to be a roughly 50 sq ft. workspace. They were so tight in the space that we watched as they ran into each other and nearly had an accident as the fryers are directly behind the cash register. I took a photo but through the glass it was hard to see. The cashier was polite and explained our order as she handed it to us. Once home, 4 min away, the food was as others have described. Ribs (1/2 rack) consisted of five small ribs with little meat, which was dry and had no flavor. BBQ sauce did little, we brought them home to our dogs. Those of us who tried them believe they were previously frozen. Coleslaw was ok but weepy, onion straws were salty to a few of us. One of us liked the okra, however. For ribs, large coleslaw and two individual sides, it was $30. If this place is going to succeed, major changes will need to be made.

Really long wait in drive-through, but need to consider it's new and they are still figuring things out. The young lady at the window was very friendly and sweet despite having to deal with lots of hungry people. The food was good. Everything was hot and containers were full. I had the baked potato casserole (yummy) and jalapeno beans (eh). Hubby had the baked beans (eh) and coleslaw (amazing). We both had the ribs - generous portions! We each had 5 meaty ribs. I really enjoyed the dinner roll; a bit sweet - almost like Hawaiian bread. Felt it was worth the price and we will visit again with confidence that the service will get better and speedier.

Been enjoying Dickey's in Livermore for a while. My daughter brought it home to her family while I was there. She got a mix of pulled meat, cheesy mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese & my personal favorite that delicious bread. It is always moist & tender, fresh & flavorful, always a treat

Saw them open a few weeks ago and thought we'd let the "newness" and lines die down. The lines didn't die down so we knew it must be good and had to try it. We ordered the chicken breast(moist and juicy, good flavor), the ribs(tender and moist-fall off the bone!), the brisket(good flavor, a bit dry-add bbq sauce and its good), the baked potato casserole(love it! decadent), mac and cheese(like home made-super cheesy), pulled pork sandwich(loaded with tender, moist pork-great dipped in bbq sauce), and rolls(yummy! could eat them with meat, butter, jelly, honey-or plain! Warm and taste homemade) and fried okra(fiancee said it was great, I'm just not an okra fan!) Great bbq flavor and quality meat without all the work and cost to do it yourself. We did take out and the food was a good temp even with driving it home. I think they had too many people working(maybe since it just opened and it actually slowed down service). Hope they can streamline and get a little more organized, but we're fans and will definitely be back!
