I haven't tried any other take-out Chinese place in this area yet but read reviews that this place was was legit. It really is!!! Salt and pepper chicken wings are seasoned well. Orange chicken and beef broccoli also were flavorful. No complaints on the portions, they HOOK YOU UP. And for the price, you really can't beat it. $7 for 2 different entrees, fried rice, AND chow mein. Go see for yourself! The lady that works at the front is also a doll.

Best Asian food I have had on the West Coast so far. The fried shrimp batter is a little thick it might be better to just use a Panko but once you add the sweet-and-sour sauce they are great four stars easily. The spicy garlic wings are on the verge of five star quality. I will be ordering these every time I go. The spicy garlic shrimp and the almond chicken are two of the best dishes they offer. My girlfriend had the orange chicken which was good as well 3 1/2 stars. Overall a cheap Dinner is only 30 bucks for all of that. Definitely my go to when I have that Asian craving. The atmosphere is the one thing about this place that does not do it justice and there is magic coming out of the kitchen and no one knows it. A refreshed look to the place would guarantee much more success for this reason I rate the place four stars. Brian Good Fried shrimp - 3 stars Spicy garlic chicken wings - 4 1/2 stars Orange chicken - 3 1/2 stars Spicy garlic shrimp - 4 stars Almond chicken- 4 stars

This review is based on their salt & pepper chicken wings. One of the few salt & pepper chicken wings sold in the South Bay (compared to the salt & pepper chicken wings in National City, San Diego) Their wings are a tad bit salty for me, but delicious! It's not spicy at all, even though there are jalapeños and red pepper flakes sprinkled on top. Meat inside is juicy, batter is crispy, wing size is average and they are mostly freshly made. Perfect pairing with their fried rice to balance the saltiness. I want to give this place 3.5 stars for their saltiness on the wings, but I guess I can round up lol :) FYI, 4 wings is about $3.80

Probably the best fast food / low cost Chinese food you will find in the area. Everything tastes fresh. No chewy or odd tasting meats. Plus you get plenty of food for what you spend. I always have leftovers for next day. Orange Chicken is always good as well as BBQ Pork.

They serve generous portions for dining in or take out and you'll most definitely have left overs and get your money worth! Their salt and pepper fried chicken wings are a best seller. I noticed lots of repeat regular customers.

Summary: Very tasty. Lady behind the counter is kind of rude. Note that shrimp items are to-order, so plan on waiting an extra 10-15 minutes while they are prepared. Good value. My wife went here on a Thursday evening to take some food home for the two of us. She ordered two-item combos with orange chicken, beef and broccoli, garlic shrimp, and chow-mein. When she ordered the shrimp, the lady behind the counter kind of got mad at her and told her it was "to order" and it would take a while to make, so my wife just chose Mongolian beef instead. When the food was done, the lady handed my wife a bag with everything inside. My wife asked for some extra chili paste, to which the lady said there was already some inside. My wife repeated her request for "extra" chili paste, and the lady rolled her eyes and handed her some more in a huff. When my wife returned home, she recounted the story of the rude woman for me to capture here, and then we sat down to eat. We opened up the containers and the quantity of food was substantial. The quality also seemed surprisingly good. Pretty much everything tasted really good, and the extra chili paste was a good addition. I don't know if the staff is usually rude or not, but chances are we'll be coming back for round 2, and hopefully we'll be able to try the shrimp next time.

I love this place! The best Wok Experience I've been too! Their staff is always friendly and very accommodating! I usually make it in right before closing and there always friendly and make anything on the menu fresh for me. The portion are huge and the prices are affordable. It's a great experience every time!

Best Chinese fast food in the South Bay, hands down. Generous with portions and the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings are THE best! THE BEST. I always order a tray when throwing parties or for potlucks.

Cheap and delicious for Fast food: Chinese! Better than Panda Express for sure. I got the Family value A which is $32 NOT $18 (listed on the website) We ordered black pepper beef which was so good! Veggies are crispy and fresh. It was the star of the menu we got. Orange chicken: pretty good not the best. Flavorful and nice glazed however wish it wasn't so soft. Would like a crispier factor for texture wise. Fried rice: is tasty and good for basic fried rice. chow mein: dry in my opinion. Could use more flavor factor. I just added hot chili paste to give it some flavor. My least favorite of the dish. cheesy wontons and egg rolls were good but nothing super special. I've had really good cheese wontons in my life so it's hard to give it a good review. If you've never tried it however, you will be in for a treat! Idk why the service got a bad review from previous yelpers? The lady was super nice gave generous portions of the food and extra chili paste with a smile! Will be back great bang for your buck if your craving Chinese

Bomb! Got salt and pepper spicy wings and wonton soup! Both perfect. They close early though.

They offer the typical Chinese fast food and give a good portion size. The food is what one would expect from typical fast food chains but it's a tad better.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???? I seriously don't know how they do it, but ALL OF THEIR VEGGIES in any of the dishes here are wonderful. They are all crisp-tender and delicious. What surprises me though is that because they give you SO MUCH FOOD, we always have leftovers and EVEN the leftovers, after microwaving, are still crisp-tender.... right down to the onions. How many times can you nook a sliced onion and have it STILL CRISP? So delicious.... even after day two and three!! Green beans are my ultimate favorite. I could eat these veggies every day.... The beef, chicken and shrimp are all to die for. Never has there been a time when I thought that any of the meat was remotely tough. SMH. How do they do that?? The meats are always very tender and are matched perfectly with the veggies. Every sauce is amazingly tasty and also compliments the mixture of meat and vegetables. The presentation is beyond beautiful. I'm a sucker anything fried... so, of course, I love the cream cheese wontons, but EVEN MORE... I LOVE LOVE LOVE the chicken wontons and the Jalapeno Chicken Wings. They are TO DIE FOR. With the little dollop of chicken in a wonton, who would think that you could have one with so much flavor? Yummy!! Remember that along with their ABC combos, they also cater, so if you find the need to have catering for work or for a party, don't forget to check out the great prices at the Wok. I recently did this for a friend of mine, and the prices were close to half of a neighboring very famous Chinese Restaurant.

Good place for quick good Chinese food. Lots of options. Their salt and pepper chicken wings are awesome they usually make it fresh since it's always gone.

Way better than Panda Express and they serve a WAY bigger portion than Panda Express.. AND CHEAPER TOO! I always get the salt/pepper wings and broccoli with beef..... The servers may look grouchy but they are very friendly and caring....

  • Paul C.

So much better than panda. Bigger portions and better pricing. It's kinda outdated and not the cleanest looking place but the food is good and you get more variety than Panda. Plenty of parking too.

    (4)
  • Vincent K.

The food tasted good and they give nice size portions, which is important. The price is good also. The only thing is that it is not made fresh to order, it is on a hot plat, kind of like a buffet style. But can't complain because it tasked good and I didn't get sick afterwards :)

If you like Panda Express, try this place instead one day. They give large portions and the food is yummy!

  • Lum M.

What are you talking about?! This place is not even good and sadly not better than Panda Express. I got the orange chicken and fried wings everyone was raving about. Not at all impressed! The wings were large and alien looking. The texture wasn't chicken! Yuck! I actually prefer the orange chicken and chow mein at Panda (which tells you a lot). The noodles here are too thick. Everything just tasted like bad junk food and that's sad considering Panda is just as bad. My daughter and I both got stomach aches that night, too. One star because it was a lot of food, but I won't come back. Who needs generous portions of food they don't enjoy?

    (1)
  • Lauren C.

Ugh, this is not better tasting than Panda. They give you large portions, but the food is meh. And I think Panda is cleaner.

I actually really wanted to go to this Mediterranean place down the street because I love Mediterranean food...but my friend said she was down for some Chinese, so we went here instead. I was low-key disappointed that I didn't get to try the Mediterranean place, but it's all good. The food here is STINKIN CHEAP, but SO GOOD. I usually try to avoid places like this knowing how greasy their foods are, but man, this place was GREAT considering the price + portions + flavor. Was it the best meal I've head? Nah. But it was wonderful knowing how generous they were with their portions. Food enough for 2 people cost less than $10 bucks! Flavor wasn't bad either. We got half chow mein, half fried rice (My friend stated that the chow mein was bland. I thought it was okay, though. You can be the judge), Orange Chicken, another chicken thing with mushrooms, and something else (I wish I remembered what the "something else" was because it was good). The point is, though, that they give you a decent amount of food. My friend and I are also horrendously indecisive. Put us together and we'll stand there forever. If we wrote a song together at that moment, it would consist of, "Uhhh. Hmmm. I'm not sure. What do YOU want? Omg, what should I get?"--and then you add some auto-tune and dubstep and it'll be a one hit wonder! But anyways, the point is: the kind lady who took our order was very patient with us. Two thumbs up goes to you! Thank you for your kind service! :)

I love the kung pao shrimp., but can they post the "full menu" with prices, for call in pick up orders, please :)

  • Evette V.

My boyfriend and I love Chinese food, and we were getting tired of Panda Express. So I researched on yelp of course and came across this place. The ratings were good and it is close by so we went at about 8pm even though they close at 9pm (oops!) but the service was awesome and there was a line to order which in my opinion is a good sign! I got the 2 entree which was ALOT less than Panda. And you get a lot of food! The place is small and when they run out of an item they are quick to make it and put it right back out. We were so impressed and we have been telling all of our close friends to ditch Panda and come here!

This is definitely my new to-go Chinese take-out place. The cheese wontons are to die for. My favorites are the hot & sour soup & the orange chicken. None of the food is over cooked & everything is utterly delicious! The staff & customer service are also top notch. Thank you The Wok Experience for a fantastic meal!!!

  • Nai Q.

BEST Chinese food in the South Bay (trust me I've tired them all...from the restaurants to the fast foods)... "The Wok Experience" is bomies! Exceptionally great prices! Delicious food, mouth watering RIGHT NOW, just thinking about it. I should already be a Dutchess, too bad my Kyocera is always dying. Try the chow mien and shrimp friend rice. Ship kung pao is also super yummy. Good egg rolls and wontons are okay as well. My friend is especially fond of the lemon-pepper chicken wings (trust me, she's picky when it comes to wings, specially at a Chinese fast food joint.) "Pre approved food, foe show! Now grab yo self a dish fool!"

This place is the BEST! Me and my friend were going out to watch a movie but we still had at least an hour and a half before the movie had started. And knowing that the movie food prices are very expensive, we decided we wanted to go out to eat before we went to go watch the movie. As we were looking for a local food places, we stumbled across this little gem. From the outside it didn't seem like much but you should never judge a book by its cover. When we went to go order the food, we thought that the server was only going to give us a little bit like how they do at the mall. But they were not stingy at all and they give us enough to feed both of us. To me I feel like that's a huge plus! :) I also really like the fact that they carry Sri Racha. Not a lot of places carry that, but then again I don't go out to eat a lot. Haha. And the food was really great and it was definitely worth the money. (Especially when you split it between two people!) The way that they seasoned their food is on point. They also have wonderful customer service and they were always smiling. I will definitely be coming back if I'm ever in the mood to get some Chinese food. This is one of the best places ever.

This is a fast food chinese restaurant, the kind you see on every other corner. Panda Express is probably the best known of the bunch. Wok Experience blows Panda Express out of the water. The prices are significantly lower, the portions significantly bigger and the taste is better as well. Their biggest advantage over Panda is that it doesn't destroy my stomach like Panda Express is wont to do. Orange Chicken good, chow mein good, fried rice solid. Just pass by Panda and try out Wok Experience, you won't be disappointed.

I've been commin here with my family ever since I could remember. The food is SO YUMMY. The food tastes fresh unlike other chinese mom & pop places. Generous portions for a very low price. What I like the most is that when there are empty trays, the cook makes another fresh tray of food instantly! Another thing is the chicken, (my mouth is watering already) the chicken does not taste like re-heated chicken. It's really nice, toasty and juicy! My favorite is the sesame chicken, definitely recommend it! The last thing I never leave without is the egg flower soup. My boyfriend doesn't like it but I LOVE IT! The only thing that makes me put 4 stars is that the service sometimes isn't the friendliest. The one of the lady's there is a bit rude sometimes so it feels like she wants us to pay up and leave. But if you can get past the minor rudeness then you're good to go. TLDR : Food is always fresh, generous portions at a reasonable price, tastes great

I only came to this place because I was in search of a five start rated Chinese restaurant but came to the conclusion that the food is not as great as people describe it to be. I'm not saying it isn't good, but it is exactly like any other Chinese fast food joint. The portions were the exception. Great amounts for people who are looking for a fuel up. It is, however, very very clean and organized. With an A rating posted on their window right as you enter. The orange chicken was probably the best out of what I ordered. The chow mein was a okay but could be better. I wanted to get the chicken wings since some reviewers were hyping about how good they are but none were to be seen. The service was also on the okay side. Not too great but at least they were helpful. Tried it, now on to the next. I do hope others who try it reveal a better insight on their Wok Experience.

This place puts Panda Express to shame. I can't believe I've been missing out eating here when I'm working in the area most of the week. They serve large portions but not only that. The food is really dam good. Fresh to order if needed. I of course stick to combo B. Half and half chow mein and steam rice with orange chicken and black peppered chicken.

The service was not that great and the food quality went down. Not one of my favorites anymore.

The best Chinese food in south Bay! !! The food is soooo delicious and especially the PRICE! ! They put a lot of food with a cheaper price. I like the salt and pepper chicken wing, so good. The frie rice so fresh ,The cleanest Chinese food place and the Owner vety sweet and friendly I highly recommended

  • Grace G.

The nice Asian man hooked it up with a Combo B! Fried rice, chow mein, orange chicken and BBQ pork! My takeout box was basically overflowing! The portions were so generous. This is my first time here and I'd rather go here instead of Panda Express (it's just down the street too and they're kinda skimpy on your food). I'd rather support a local business anyways! Nom nom nom! I love chinese takeout!

Wok Experience is a clean, fast food restaurant in the Albertson's parking lot on the south side of Pacific Coast Highway in Lomita. It is a typical fast food joint with white tile floors and white tables with chairs - there are about 9 tables in the restaurant. Parking is not the best here - the lot is always crowded with grocery shoppers. For $6.25, you can get a two item combo with fried rice and chow mein. The food is on a steam table, but they are not huge dishes and the food is replaced often. DH had chow mein only with BBQ chicken and broccoli beef. All three dishes were pretty standard - the highlight was how tender and moist the meat was. Plus, the veggies were really fresh - the broccoli was still crisp! I had steamed rice and vegetables with green bean chicken and mushroom chicken. The rice was a little overcooked for my taste, but I am not a big rice fan. It just becomes a bit pasty. Everything else was very good for fast food. There were tons of green beans, which were fried with chicken and onions and served in a soy based sauce. The other chicken dish was made up of moist bits of chicken thigh cooked quickly in a wok with mushrooms and zucchini in a soy based sauce. Once again, the veggies were super fresh. We had a TON of food and a soda for about $15 out the door. The lady working the counter was so friendly. This is not authentic, but it is good, Americanized, fast food Chinese. I would come again, but I would not trek out of my way for it. (it is definitely heads and shoulders above Panda Express.)

This fast food Chinese restaurant, is the BEST! Service is always unbelievably great. Every food I've ever had has always been great and had so much flavor.... The owners are very friendly.. They also do catering. Prices are soooo reasonable!

This place is awesome American Chinese fast food. The ladies who work there are no nonsense so don't expect being chatted up. The portions are AAAMAAAAZING! We have been coming here since we moved to the area about a decade ago. The food is cheap but not cheap tasting. The two entree combo with chow mein is enough to feed two people easily. We usually buy two of those for our family and it has feed all five of us when the kids were younger. The food is consistently delicious as are the portions. Panda Express cannot possibly compare to Wok Experience.

This place is a Lomita institution. Have been a regular here for years and they are one of the few restaurants to have continued to deliver good portions at a fair price.

The food is decent at best. Customer service is non existent. But, worst of all, I'm on the verge of puking from the beef and broccoli. I hope I don't have food poisoning.

The food is awesome! Not your typical fast food Chinese restaurant. Everything is made fresh and a lot of the choices are unique to this restaurant. Also the portions are HUGE!!!! And the service is impeccable and friendly. You'll love this place. I highly recommend it.

I've only been to this particular location one time and all I can say is don't come near closing time. I came at 8:40 and they close at 9 and most everything was put away. I wanted orange chicken and chow mein but I had to get different chicken because most of the orange chicken was put away and gone by that time. The lady wasn't that friendly and when I finally did start eating my food it was cold. Clearly left overs. Gross

You can't but help smell the wonderful aromas coming out of this small quick food restaurant. Do not let the location or lack of hipsters standing outside talking on their phones trick you. There is good quality, fresh food items in available at a very, very reasonable price. What I have noticed every time I have visited is that the food is not allowed to just sit out under the heat lamps if the number of customers is low. Ask for something where there is an empty tray and "BAM" the cook will whip it up for fresh and on the spot. When I compare the Wok Experience to others that also occupy this category I give them the nod for freshness and taste. The portions are overly generous and I dare anyone to walk out of there saying or thinking they did not get enough food. I had a little difficulty in making a decision on what to get and one of the employees "Lynn" was extremely nice in suggesting on how to place my custom order so I could get the beef & shrimp for my meal. Really it seems if you want it and don't see it...just ask and they will most likely be able to accommodate your desire. I would say this is great place for the quick meal, great for the kids because the portions are large enough to split and great when you realize this is a much better bargain & quality than Panda

Nice little Chinese food shop located next to Albertsons. I go here when I need a cheap fill. It's on par with what you might expect from a Chinese food shop in a mall food court. Still, it's better than Panda Express. Nothing to write home about, but friendly customer service, tasty food, and, most importantly, cheap. Only $5.50 for one entree with chow mean and fried rice, and their entree portions are very generous.

ORANGE CHICKEN IS A MUST ! BEST AROUND!! The girls always hook it up with the portions I give good tip when I get combo C . Sometimes I feel like they put so much food on the plates they are going to break ... Thats a good thing.

Wok Experience has the best, most consistantly yummy WonTon Soup in the South Bay! Their soup base is the richest chicken broth, not at all greasy.Enhancing that flavorful chicken both, are chuck of broccoli, cabbage, sliced carrots, fresh shrimp, pea pods, and slices of chicken. All this natural goodness for $6.49. If you are picky about your wonton soup, hit the breaks and buy it here, you will not find anything better!

This is my neighborhood Chinese fast food place....walking distance...NICEEE! Love me some Wok Experience...everything is always fresh. The fried rice and chow mein are spot on, the orange chicken and BBQ pork are my favs, but gotta give props to the broccoli beef, lemon pepper chicken, and sweet and sour pork. They give the healthiest portions...enough for two people really. If you're craving Chinese and are near the Lomita area, I definitely recommend this place.

I so enjoy the food from the Wok Experience. Every experience has been good. Their noodles, rice, broccoli beef, orange chicken, chicken stringbeans, ... everything I've had from here has been good. And they give you a large amount for the price. I don't live as close as I use to but when I'm in the are, The Wok Experience is my meal selection. Try it. I'm sure you'll like it.

I finally found an awesome Chinese fast food restaurant! After repeatedly seeing this place being posted on a few of my friends Facebook posts, and after multiple convincing by them to try this place out, i decided to drop by when i found myself in the area. The place is beside Albertson's supermarket and easily seen while coasting on PCH in Lomita. Parking wont be a problem since there is huge lot for you to park in. On approach you could smell the yumminess that's inside waiting for you. The restaurant is very clean with a nice staff behind the counter ready to take your order. You could see a glimpse of the cooks in the kitchen cooking the food, so you know that it is fresh. The menu consists of combos and it depends on how many dishes you want, you can also order ala carte and some menu items are cook to order. I ordered the fried rice, chow mein, peppered beef and the fried chicken wings in my combo. The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get! The food is so flavorful and cooked just right, unlike other chinese places where the food tastes really bland and blah! The noodles and fried rice is tasty and not oily which i like very much. My favorite is the fried chicken wings, heavenly! I could eat them the whole day! I told my brother to order the chicken wings from this place instead of another place he used to get them from. Im on a mission to try out every dish in this joint, you can count on seeing me in this place the next time im in the area! Till next time...

  • Mx T.

It's better than most take out Chinese: less greasy and fresher. They don't let the food sit in the tray and get all crusty. My favorite indulgence is an order of orange chicken (no need for noodles) Love their soups: hot & sour if I want a kick, or won ton if I'm feeling sick. Oh, and an order of egg rolls with the soup. They fill their containers to bursting, you get your money's worth.

Holy cow!!! In my opinion, the customer service of this place gets ZERO stars. I was calling to find a place to cater for my kids birthday, first attempt was, "uhhh, I don't speak Chinese", click.... Ok, I'll talk to you in English, so I call again, they put the fax machine on so I get the high-pitched beeeeeeep... Thinking to myself: "I really don't think they realize how much money they're losing out", so I call again to give them one more chance. "Hi, do you guys cater?" Click... "Hello?" "Hello?" "Hello?" "Hello?" Hence, HOLY COW...

This place is near my job and is always good, plenty of food for your buck and the staff is always helpful. I first had my spicy string beans there and it was the best, I always get that now. It's funny to see them piling on the food and it keeps coming. You can feed a family of 4 for under $20.00 and it's good food. If you haven't tried it, you haven't experienced the wok experiance.

I was looking for a place in the South Bay that had salt and pepper chicken wings and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. I decided to give it a try because it had pretty good reviews. The food was okay. I got the combo with half fried rice, half chow mein, orange chicken, sesame chicken, and a side of the salt and pepper wings. (Yes, I love my chicken). It was nothing special, and the salt and pepper wings paled in comparison to those in south San Diego.

A tremendous value. Fried rice, chow mein, and two entrees-easily enough for two meals-and out the door in about two minutes, for $7. Amazing. Orange chicken and beef and broccoli were both delicious.

  • Denny B.

Three items and chow mein for $7.50. Of course it is not haute cuisine, but it is a cheap filler. Well run with courteous counter folk (owners). They have a make-for-you menu along with the buffet. Cheap, fast good flavor without a lot of grease. Boycott Panda Express and load up at Wok Experience.

The name says it all. Everything they make is a Wok Experience. I work right across the street at a dental office and I find myself here almost everyday. NOTHING is nasty and it is money well spent. My favorite entree is the jalapeno chicken. The fried won tons are delicious and they always make me fresh ones when I come in :)

The interior of this establishment was probably the cleanest Chinese Food restaurant I've ever been in. Whats funny about the rice and noodles is they taste better when i ate them later for left overs like 5 hours later. The orange chicken here is great.

Great food, nice sized portions, all dishes I've tried was very fresh and delicious. The barbecue chicken and pork had so much flavor, I would highly recommend as a first dish to try. If you like spicy, the spicy orange chicken was also one of my favorites. Overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend to friends and family. Will definitely be back! Even had left overs that I'll be enjoying for dinner tonight.

I see the Wok Experience all the time while driving down PCH or after going on a late night beer run at Albertsons but I was very impressed by the food. Besides the bonus free drink with combo purchase (I Love Love Love free shit) the sesame chicken was very filling. I enjoy trying new Chinese-American food besides the typical orange chicken and broccoli beef that's typical and here, do not be afraid to try something new. And get the cream cheese won-tons for desert, 4 pieces for $1.79. Those are a guilty pleasure for me. Recommendations are Combo A, B, or C half chow-main half fried rice and whatever item you want. Its an A rated Chinese food restaurant (which is rare for Chinese fast food, not gonna lie, most get B ratings) and I can see why.

Just moved here and I needed a good Chinese place.. I'm pretty picky and this place was excellent. Had to wait about 5mins for fresh chow mein and fresh chicken but that was okay. When she realized I was there for just about 5 mins she deeply apologized and loaded my plate so much it wouldn't close. When I got home the food was great and I will definetly be back!

Used to eat here every week at least. Went in last month and got a 2item combo. Half way through the meal I found a huge cooked bug snuggled up with my BBQ pork cooked up and served along side my meal. Won't be going back anytime soon, don't think I can get that image out of my head that I will find another bug again

I have not had Panda ever since I discovered this place. I walked in simply because it was a block away from where I live.. I did not expect to get so much for just $6. They give you enough for 2 people (3, if you have small appetite). The first time I thought they were just being nice.. but they kept giving me the same HUGE portion every time I went! I'd say it is a little more greasy than Panda... but you shouldn't even be eating Chinese food if you wanted non-greasy, healthy food. This place is my favorite Chinese fast food restaurant now!

Great fresh and affordable Chinese food. Make sure you get something from the cooked to order menu and you won't regret it. Saw some people get the hot fried wings the other day and they looked amazing. This place is hands down the best Chinese I've had from a price to quality standpoint.

Great portions! Great Value! I don't go for "fast food" Chinese too often.. but once in awhile, a half chowmein half fried rice 2 item combo really hits the spot. And when the craving hits me.. I choose Wok Experience. Located conveniently next to Albertsons on PCH and Oak This place is never too busy. The service is friendly and fast. Even if you order from the kitchen instead of the steam trays (some items like the tasty garlic beef is cooked to order). Most of the time I'll get a combo A or B (1 or 2 item, rice, chow mein) .. just enough food for my big appetite. Yet I never feel the food coma from Wok Exp.. I feel like their dishes are less greasy than other similar restaurants and the ingredients are above average quality.

Last week, my boyfriend and I got some take-out at Wok Experience and brought it home. Coincidentally, his brothers arrived home around the same time, toting some take-out from Panda Express. We all got half chow mein and half white rice, with a 2-item combo. The difference was that our chow mein noodles were twice the size of theirs and twice the size in portions, as well. Their take-out box was closed neatly, with lots of room to spare. Our take-out box was bursting! Our chow mein, black pepper beef and orange chicken kicked ass. Their orange chicken was (according to the brothers), "meh." They paid about $2-3 more than us. We paid under $10! Yeah, just forget about Panda Express and go here.

I always come here especially because I'm a regular shopper at the Albertsons next door. Their food is pretty damn good for what they're worth. I like their chow mein, sesame chicken, mushroom chicken, orange chicken, honey garlic chicken (geez, do I like chicken), spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, fried rice, beef & broccoli...so on so forth. They recently just ended their "Buy a meal, Get 1 free soda" promo which I thought was awesome because their prices are already low. Not only is the food delicious & cheap, they give you the items in huge portions. Soooo yummy! I love coming here. I just wish that they were open later at night :P Oh yeah, this place is CASH ONLY. I always end up having to go to the Bank of America ATM next door because I tend to forget, no matter how many times I've been there.

Wok Experience Chinese Fast Food makes Panda Express look like dog food. As you can see by my profile pic, my wife is Asian and I am "white". That's exactly what Wok Experience serves... Asian food filtered through western fast food mentality - and they do it well. For this type of place, it is VERY good. Their Chicken Won Ton soup is very good, with fresh vegetables and generous amounts of chicken. Their Garlic Beef is great. We quite often order full trays of their food to take to pot luck parties. In fact, just prior to writing this, I ordered a tray to take to a Super Bowl party. My wife loves their chow mein in particular. It is much better than at most Chinese fast food places. Not to belabor the point, but if you can stomach Panda, you will LOVE this food. Unless you like crap, in which case stick with Panda.

I went there for the first time tonight because I prefer these family owned shops compared to Panda Express. When I arrived the case was almost empty because they were too close in about 20 minutes but she quickly informed me that they would still make whatever I wanted. Even though they were ready to close they still provided everyone who came in with fresh hot food. Great Customer Service

BEST CHICKEN EGGROLLS ever. Have been eating here for years and years. Servers remember us and are nice, food is fresh, fresh, fresh, and prices are good. Always clean to eat in and great for takeout. Best take out Chinese in the area.

If your into those ready-made heat lamp items this is usually the place. Just be aware that after 4oclock they stop stocking the trays with "fresh" items. You can order anything and they "cook" it for you, they bang on some pots and pans and produce a "fresh" item for you. Today I had the usual orange chicken/ beef broccoli combo. There was a strange odor that filled the car. I still don't know what it was but I didn't trust the freshness of what I was about to eat, I just hope I don't get food poisoning.

When I was around Lomita more I was here ALL THE TIME. They have awesome prices (used to have a $2.99 bowl, how awesome is that? It's like $3.75 now but still a decent deal) and lots of yummy stuff. I would usually get the teriyaki chicken with vegetables bowl, but leave the sauce off. Their vegetables are good too. Other good stuff is their vegetable egg rolls (which are spicy), sesame chicken (this stuff is SO ADDICTING), beef and broccoli, and their black pepper chicken. My mother loves their eggplant dish too. Their soups are also good, I love their wonton soup and their noodle soup, but the hot and sour one is just a litttttle too spicy for me (too much white pepper in it). My only complaint is with the wonton soup, tons of vegetables are fine, but please, a couple more wontons and one or two more shrimp would be nice. It's a family-owned place which usually means good service, but a few times they've been a little rude to me. One time they were out of my teriyaki chicken, so I got another chicken dish but was told I would have to pay extra for vegetables even though they came with the teriyaki chicken. If they weren't out of it, I'd understand, but they were very rude in telling me no I couldn't have them with THAT chicken dish, and they weren't going to be making any more teriyaki chicken that day. Erm. Considering vegetables are pretty much the cheapest cost item they have, I thought that was just wrong. It's a pretty typical Americanized Chinese food place but it's one of my favorites. Family owned is always a plus too! Also I went here this past weekend, (5/10) and it's cash only now. Just something to keep in mind.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
