Yume Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

When I came here today the atmosphere was ok but when we got out food this is how much sauce we got. It was very over priced too.

If you appreciate simplicity and preparation that highlights the fish instead of the SAUCE this is the place. They do not have a menu that takes 10 minutes to read like most Japanese restaurant in the area and I think it is a good thing because what they do offer is done right. If you are thinking of venturing away from your tried and true sushi spot I highly suggest giving YUME a shot.

Been here numerous times and it's always delicious. (We really like the beef teriyaki - one of the best I've had!) The service is great and the prices are reasonable. What more can you ask for? Guess that's why we keep coming back.

Best sushi in the region. They don't smother the sushi rolls in sauces like most other sushi restaurants. You can actually taste the freshness.

  • Juan T.

If authentic Japanese you deserve and want, around here Yume is your place; if you desire less than authentic, you have other places to choose from. While a but pricey, the taste, freshness and quality you get is worth your money. Ask for the secrete meal of the day, if available, enjoy.

Great Oysters for the appetizer! Ordered spicy scallop roll and spicy dragon with Teriyaki tuna I think they are right, this might be the best Sushi in Lodi

Consistently among the best sushi I've ever had. Very high quality and excellent service. I love asking for the chef's recommendation and letting him create something unique for me. It is always delicious! You won't find better sushi in the area.

If you want quality sushi, this is the place to go. I have been going here since they opened I recommend to sit at the sushi bar so you can learn about the the different types of sushi/sashimi to try. The owner/sushi chef will be glad to help you. Their beer, wine, and saki selection has been getting larger since Yume opened. This is a good thing, as nothing goes better with a sushi/sashimi meal is a good beer or saki. Yume is best Japanese restaurant in Lodi.

I really like the atmosphere there, service is fast and friendly, food is also very tasty and speedy with a good variety, this place is for sure best sushi in Lodi, owner/chef continues to expand the variety of food being serve with chef special menu on the board when you first come in to get your attention, beer, wine and saki menu is for sure growing, lots of local wine to support local Lodi winery business !! If you are in Lodi area and have a craving for sushi, Yume is for sure the place to be !!!

Yume is literally my dream sushi place. Having eaten at pretty much every sushi place in Lodi, Stockton and Sacramento, I have to say Yume is by far the best. Not only is the fish the freshest anywhere, but the serving portions are incredibly large and for the same or even less price. The wait staff are very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy with it being a somewhat smaller restaurant. Masayuki, being the only Japanese sushi chef in the greater Lodi area, definitely has something new to offer to the table. He offers food that isn't only more authentic than other places, but also more delicious. This coupled with he fact that it's located so close to my house had lead to Yume becoming something of a staple in my diet. Nothing can really beat a big bowl of soba, a side of gyoza and a cold glass of Echigo beer.

Best Sushi by far in town....and one of the best I have ever had....and I am picky. The service is unsurpassed! Can't wait to go again.

Great sushi here. Probably the best in lodi. All of the fish tasted super fresh. Good service, nice owner.

Amazing food. By far the best teriyaki chicken i've ever had, and the portions were huge! Super nice staff and great service. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be a regular here!

Everything tasted very fresh. We had the red Dragon roll (hot!), Dragon roll, Caterpillar roll and Snowcrab California. All of them were presented beautifully. The Udon soup was okay, just some seaweed strips and noodle in a tasty broth. The beef teriyaki with rice was flavorful. The service was attentive for a late Saturday night before closing time. We will be back. :)

I have been here a few times now, I love this place. Reasonably priced menu. Top notch service, and great food. The Sashimi Salad is delicious. I also tried the Spicy Salmon Roll this time. While it was very fresh and tasty, it was lacking on the spicy. Hardly the end of the world, I'll ask them to kick it up a bit next time.

The service was excellent, we were greeted promptly and given a high chair for my little one. The server was able to answer all of our questions, and even help out by getting me a small plate of chicken for my daughter- which is not on the menu. The sushi was okay, the seafood tasted fresh. Unfortunately I was not wowed by anything. My friend dining with me pointed out that they don't cover their rolls in all those crazy sauces that all the trendy places do now- but still everything lacked presentation and really, flavor. I cannot see myself returning, mainly because their roll list was too small and nothing was very imaginative. Prices were affordable on their food and alcohol. I did not like the ambiance. While it is a nice size for a cozy Japanese Restaurant, it has carpet and it was way too warm inside. Good location, great parking.

THE BEST SUSHI IN LODI! If you're looking for a good and inexpensive traditional Japanese restaurant you've found it. Lodi is lucky to have one of the best sushi chefs in the Central Valley. Sit at the bar and just let them make you lunch or dinner. You can't go wrong here.

Being from the Bay Area, we didn't really know what to expect when venturing out for sushi in Lodi. Fellow Yelpers led us to Yume and we were pleasantly surprised. We went for lunch and were quickly seated. The restaurant was nice and clean and the service was very attentive. We ordered the oysters for appetizers. They were very good and piping hot. We then ordered Tekka Maki and a Spicy Tuna Roll. The tuna in both rolls were very fresh and delicious. Nice presentation as well. It's great to have found a good sushi restaurant in Lodi. We are looking forward to a return visit so that we can try more items on their menu.

Believe me when I say Yume has the freshest sushi around. You can actually taste the difference between other sushi restaurants in the area. My default is the snow crab California roll, which is a nice twist on your regular California roll, substituting fresh snow crab for the standard imitation crab. Very light, but wonderfully flavorful. While the menu is lacking a large selection of rolls, what is available on the menu is executed to perfection with very balanced flavoring. Presentation is superb as well. The staff is very friendly and make great suggestions when you can't decide for yourself. The owner/chef always makes it his business to walk around the room and check on his patrons. Great service. So glad this placed opened up in Lodi.

I have to give this three stars only because my daughter liked what she had (teriyaki beef) but my sushi...if this is the BEST Lodi has to offer I feel pretty sad. The tuna was like a thick little brick and the texture made me a little fearful that I may get sick from it. I didn't though but I was very disappointed in the very small selection of flavors. It seemed that each roll was just a tiny bit different than the other. I love my kid but don't think I'll be back. Service was quite odd too. The girl that served us kept asking if we were doing good but when it came time to get the check we were ignored. I think people need to get out a bit more and have some real sushi before they can give this place a 5 star rating.

Anybody who knows me knows that I am a frequent diner here in Lodi. I can say that I have probably eaten at every place in this town. I rarely yelp. I have read some of the negative reviews here and just question the validity of them. This place, by far, is the best sushi place in the area. Now, if you are looking for budget sushi just to fill your belly, this is not your place. If your are looking for 30 different types of rolls, this is not your place. Go to OZ or Raley's for your sushi. If, however, you appreciate quality fish (purist) and quality service, you will LOVE this place! The fish is superb and the rolls are designed to highlight the quality of it. I have had the blufin tuna here on special occasions when they have it. OMGoodness, it was amazing. If you go, see if he has it. You will not be disappointed! I have tried nearly everything on the menu and the only thing I would not order again is the Sea Urchin. This is a BIT too purist for me ;-) Please give this a try. You will love the service and Chef Masa will make sure that you are happy.

The first time I visited this establishment, it was a little mom and pop shop selling groceries, and serving various rice bowls. It has been transformed into an elegant sushi bar with beautiful decor, and food resembling art. The food is light, and fresh. Very tasty, but I think I might visit elsewhere... I have a budget, and although I may go somewhere with a little less quality, I can get my sushi fix a little cheaper, and fill my belly a little more. Suggest lowering the lunch prices slightly, and save the good stuff for the evenings. Might have better luck drawing in the working lunch crowd and spreading the word to fill the house after dark!

What an unsuspected fabulous dinning find! I ate here a few days ago with my family and was surprised to find this place to be so delicious! I honestly though that in a little city like Lodi to offer such a true Japanese delight! I ordered the sashimi salad and the sashimi is so freah and absolutely amazing. I love the yellow sauce that this plate is garnished and decorated with. The roll my mom ordered (sorry but her order escapes my mind for the moment) was fresh and perfectly packed. I hate it when you pick up a roll with your chopsticks and it falls and breaks apart before it gets into your mouth. The service was quick (we came on a Saturday late lunch at 2:30 pm), prompt (my water glass was refilled quickly) and friendly. The place itself is fairly small, a lot of open space and clean (you want a place like this to be clean). I would definitely come back here the next time I am visiting my relatives.

What a refreshing find in Lodi and very reasonably priced! The food is perfectly balanced with spices. It is not over-salted like many wannabe "Japanese style" restaurants. It has the true flavors, quality freshness, exact preparation of dishes down to every perfect grain of rice. It is delivered with the art of anticipatory service. That being said, I am not into 'tentacles', "sea bugs," or sashimi, or even sushi much, so for me it is deciding if it's going to be teriyaki this or tempura. However, if I was into the 'fancy' foods, I wouldn't hesitate to eat it here. The surprise was that the dinner plates are balanced appropriately with protein, carbohydrate(rice), and vegetable. There's something you cannot get often unless you eat at home! For me it's a great night off and my husband can have his comfort food. We've eaten there twice and the only thing negative that comes to mind is that the second time the tea was not the same quality green and did not have the roasted rice in it which was a bit disappointing. It's not going to have the vast menus of the chain restaurants but is is an impeccably clean and typical, simplistic, nearly authentic Japanese restaurant. It is surprising to me the place isn't packed every night as it is of the caliber which one does not often encounter in this town.

If you want real Japanese food this place is it. Not a pretend to be Japanese restaurant like most places are

My primary reason for stopping here was to try their ramen. You may not know this but I am a big fan of noodles no matter which country they're from. We started with a couple of small plates; Yume prawns and spicy lomi lomi. Both were excellent in flavor and presentation. We also had an Eschigo micro brew; also excellent. Our ramen followed and I was quite impressed with the tonkatsu broth although the bowl itself could have been a bit bigger. The noodles were fresh and tasty but the chasu should have cooked longer to improve texture. Overall a nice experience and one I will repeat. Yay Lodi finally has a noodle house!

This is an outstanding local place for an authentic meal. They now also offer beer, wine, and sake. The last time we dined, the owner came out to our table and asked how everything was. Simply the best, newer, best kept secret in Lodi !

4.5 Stars - Best Japanese in Lodi (I know...could be damning with faint praise, right?) My wife and I have been to Yume several times over the last few months, and every time we've thoroughly enjoyed it. The first time it was really hot outside (Aug 2011) and I asked the server if they would make tenzaru even though it wasn't on the menu. They did, and it was excellent. The owner/chef came out and asked me if I thought tenzaru would work as a regular menu item, and I suggested that he try it as a seasonal/occasional offering, perhaps on a table card during the summer. Since then,we've also had their mixed tempura, a variety of nigiri sushi (altho I have yet to sit at the small sushi bar), and a few other menu items, and everything has been quite good. In fact, the tempura is probably the best I've ever had, other than my own, and way less hassle! My only complaint, and this costs Yume half a star, is that the rice that accompanies the tempura dinner comes on the plate, not in a chawan. What's up with that?

This restaurant is the best sushi restaurant in town. Menu items are very reasonably priced--ignore the reviews that say it's too expensive, they must be buying their sushi at Costco. I know of one place that is cheaper, but the quality of sashimi is nowhere near the quality of this place. The owner was the head chef at CoCoRo's and he left to open this place. This is a sushi place I can get behind because it's not all frat guys doing sake bombs and Americanized sushi rolls with too much sauce. It is a quality establishment with great service and excellent food. Monk fish liver FTW.

  • Mimi D.

This is the best sushi in the valley... This is a cute little place that has really come a long way. I love the tempera roll and the Phillie roll here. The flavors are so clean and fresh! The prices are a little pricey but worth the quality that they give you. The staff is friendly and they always fulfill my togo order fast. If you are looking for good sushi this place wont disappoint.

  • Michele N.

I've been here two times in the last year, the most recent being a few weeks ago. I was not impressed by my experience. Service was okay. The rolls where pricy and I didn't care for what I ordered. The rolls contained a large amount of rice and not much fish. And if you l,ike sauces, they were dry. But I know some people like them that way. Overal an okay experience, the food was okay, just not worth the bill when I know I can get better sushi for 1/2 the price 3 miles down the road.

The food was beyond awesome. Driving 30 minutes from sacramento to Lodi in order to enjoy a quality japanese meal.

Yume is a charming sushi joint tucked away in a nondescript Lodi shopping strip. Square canvas paintings hang prominently on the otherwise plain walls and jazz music fills the lively restaurant. Clatter from behind the sushi bar and open kitchen makes the restaurant feel bigger than it is. Though still new and roughing out the details, Yume delivers in quality and service. The slices of fish on top of my rainbow roll melted in my mouth and the ponzu served with my squid vinegar was satisfyingly tart. The food is authentic with a nod to the American palette. Great, indeed.

  • Staci R.

Yume and Haru are tied for the best sushi everrrrrr. I love how fresh the sashimi is here! The lomi lomi appetizer is perfection and the owner is always friendly and helpful. They have an assortment of beers and it changes frequently. Every time I eat there I discover a new beer to enjoy. Do yourself a favor and RUN there.

  • Laura R.

Fabulous sushi - by far the best I've had in Lodi, and at a very reasonable price, considering the quality. Until I discovered Yume, I thought I had to go to Sacramento for decent sushi... not anymore! Very friendly service as well - consider me a loyal customer.

First of all, let me start by saying that it is rare to find a real, traditional Japanese restuarant. The chef is not only from Japan, but his parents own a sushi restuarant in Japan as well! Chef Masa was very curious to find out what me and my friends like, and upon telling him our favorite dishes, he created beautiful masterpieces that tasted as wonderful as they looked!! Nigiri, sushi rolls, teriyaki chicken, and even the miso soup were all absolutely superb. The flavor of the sauces do not over-power the taste of the fish, and I could tell that everything was extremely fresh. The teriyaki sauce on the chicken was the best I've ever had, and the miso soup was filled with delicious wakame seaweed & tofu. The atmosphere, food, & staff were all beyond expectation from a small restaurant in Lodi. I must say, this place is my new favorite!!!!

  • Shauntel G.

Absolutely delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. Service was top notch as well. I am a serious food snob and never rate any restaurants a five.....until now. Hands down the best sushi in Lodi. Try the lomi lomi roll. Best thing i've eaten in months.

  • Brooke M.

Love this place. They focus on their fresh fish and good veggies, not like the latest sushi restaurants that saturate their rolls in fancy sauces. I would go here every day if I could! It is very well priced and the owners have great customer service.

Yummy, fresh, good sized portions of sushi and other foods that are decently priced. I went on a Friday night around 630 pm in a party of 9. It's a small place, but we were there early enough to be seated promptly. Service was friendly, though it took a while for our food to come out (didn't mind because we were a large group, it was a busy time, and we were enjoying good company). I ordered the golden shrimp roll (fried shrimp, cucumber, avocado) and the regular dragon roll (shrimp tempura, avocado, eel). The dragon roll was awesome, the golden shrimp roll was a little plain, but good nonetheless. Will definitely be going back. I recommend it.

This business replaced my beloved Nonakas so the pressure was on. They just opened yesterday which is obvious because there's only 1 table eating inside. The decor is comfy and the menu is a little on the small side, however prices are descent. I tried a teriyaki chicken bowl and it didn't have allot of flavor. The chicken was cooked just right and it was a hearty portion. I noticed it comes with onions and mushrooms only so I had to modify it with broccoli instead of the onions/mushrooms, they didn't mind the substitution.

This wonderful little restaurant is easily the best Japanese in town ... the Salmon Tempura is absolutely perfect and the California rolls are easily the best anywhere in the area. They do something with the rice to make it authentic and delicious. The food is fresh and cooked and presented to perfection. The service is top notch. The owner recognizes regulars as does the pleasant waitress. Quietly elegant atmosphere and pleasant music and ambiance. Somehow every dish is plated with a flair that emphases quality. I see one review suggested they lower the price and save the quality for evenings ... are you kidding me. They kill with every meal.

I was "batchin" it since my better half just had a tooth pulled. I felt like sushi and one of my Facebook friends had just posted that this place was "outstanding" Since they do not seem to have an internet presence (no webpage, no menus posted) I had to drive there to see what this place was. I walked in and identified that I wanted to place a "to go" order. I picked up a small menu from a counter near the front door and began looking. The waitress said that she would bring me the "big" menu. Here it came (it was a bigger copy of the paper one at the front door). Since I am a Vegetarian, I began to look for what they offered for those of us that do not eat animal flesh. To my dismay, they had only one roll ( an avocado/cucumber roll for $8.00) that had no meat at all. I asked the waitress what else they had for weird customers like me. She said there was nothing. I asked if they would make FutoMaki ( a staple on most sushi restaurant menus). She said no. I asked if they would make a roll out of Tempura Vegetables. She said no. I asked if they had any other non-flesh offerings. She again shook her head. No. I left shaking my head. At least 10% of the population has made the choice to not eat animal flesh. I guess this restaurant wants to only serve the other 90%.

I grew up going to Japanese food my whole life. We spent every Friday eating lengthy meals at a neighborhood joint up the street. When I had my first meal at Yume, it reminded me of that place; super fresh ingredients, very simple combinations that are perfectly prepared. Yume is a fantastic addition to the Lodi restaurant scene and I adore their no fuss and non-trendy "clean" style of Japanese fare!

Gotta admit that I love me some sushi. Sometimes I feel that I am a bit of a Japanese cuisine snob, mostly because I worked at a Japanese grocery store for five years. I love Yume. The fish is so fresh and tasty. I've never been a huge fan of maguro but their maguro is the butteriest I've ever had. Not at all fishy. I could eat it everyday. Their rolls are not sauced up too much, just the right amount to give the roll and extra bit of flavor. I've had several rolls already and I'm just loving the taste. One of my staples at Japanese restaurants is Agedashi tofu. I was overly pleased to see that they use katakuri-ko (potato starch) instead of corn starch or even worse tempura batter, making this dish very authentic and delicious. This is a fabulous restaurant that everyone in the area should try. Top notch sushi. Update: Wow this place amazes me still! Now they have a large selection of Japanese beer some of which I haven't seen in other restaurants! They also serve sake now and wines from the local area! Fantastic! I love Yume!!

I felt guilty about my visit here today, I've been a loyal guest at Matsuyama for many (11) years, but I felt a gentle nudge to give the new place an audition. I ordered a hand roll and a rainbow roll, with each I got not only good food, but the feeling that the chef understands the art of the cuisine he is serving. The decor is subtle, yet comfortable and refreshing, and the open kitchen does make the restaurant feel much larger than it is. The service fits in with the atmosphere, prompt, yet gentle. Jazz music on in the background is another nice touch!

Just ate here. Ticked off we didn't try it months ago!! Very good, very fresh and simple atmosphere. We will be back for sure. Honestly one of the best places we've eaten. Forget those "mikuni" chains, this place is great if you just want amazing sushi

Me and my friends ordered squid vinegar, udon noodle soup, chicken teriyaki, crunchy rainbow roll and Mochi ice-cream. Squid vinegar was so good and it was deep fried squid with ponzu sauce. Chicken teriyaki was good. I liked how they grilled the chicken and sauce was perfect. Sushi was duper good. The owner, sushi chief is from japan. He knows how to make real sushi!!! I will definitely go back again!!!!

The restauraunt itself is fairly small, able to accommodate only about 6-7 tables. The atmosphere, however, is modern and elegant. The folded cloth napkins are a nice touch. My experience with the food was inconsistent. The tempura was excellent, maybe the best ever. The asparagus/cucumber sushi was just as good--probably the best of its type in Lodi--and the salad with house dressing was good too. On the other hand, the chicken teriyaki was lackluster. I wouldn't get it again the next time I'm there. Family I was with had a similar reaction to their meals. I don't recall the prices but they seemed reasonable. As far as Japanese restaurants in Lodi go, I would still take Haru Sushi or Shi Ra Soni 2 first (they're different styles of Japanese food) because of the top-notch quality of their food, then Yume, and finally Matsyuama as a distant third.

So far, So good. The food seems much fresher than my former favorite 'paradise' of sushi. The service staff is learning, but eager to get it right. I wish I could get my tea in a pot instead of waiting, I think I'll mention that, they seem open to suggestion. The rolls are beautiful with not to much fancy junk, ( just the right amount of sauce & flavored oils) very artistic. Even the Unagi Nigiri was pretty. My stand-by at any new sushi place is Agedashi Tofu, it was very good, with a different texture on the coating and large soft tofu. The wakame salad was not to salty or hot, and not dried out, wonderful. I look forward to seeing this business grow, lovely to have somewhere close to home and work. There is no sake or beer yet, but it is to come in the next month or so. We have made three visits, not bad food yet!!

I love Yume's. I am a big fan of sashimi and that's pretty much all I eat at Japanese/sushi restaurants. I love the people there who are always attentive and cheery. Masa always comes to our table and asks how everything is, which is a big plus in my book.

I'm a simple girl. I love smooth jazz, I love great customer service, I love trying new things and I love sushi! How could I not love Yume?!? I came here for a complimentary sake tasting tonight and left with a couple of bottles. The gentleman offering the tasting was ingratiating and knowledgeable and made it an enjoyable experience. Typically we order a multitude of sushi but decided to try some new things tonight. We were not disappointed. Of course we had a few rolls lol and I love how fresh the salmon on the spicy salmon roll tasted! My boyfriend had a pork katsu that was flavorful and unique. I tried the peanut chicken and long story short, everyone had their chopsticks in my plate! The flavor was perfect! I feel so sorry for anyone with a peanut allergy who will never be able to taste it's magnificence. The owner and head chef Masa is such a friendly, hardworking person and his wife and all the other staff are nice and attentive. The interior is small and simple and I love how they play light jazz music. There is a reason this place is constantly being awarded and touted as the best in Lodi.

  • Juliette L.

I will miss Masa & his wife, Fabiola... as I am moving away... I loved to dine here especially when I have meetings since it is quiet even when the place is full. Perhaps, a nice Jazz music motivates customers to listen & talk quietly... The food is always fresh & don't have to look at the menu as Masa will let you know special dishes that he can create for you today... he surprises me every single time... Oishi!!! My older son who is into gormet food likes sushi without sauce & nuts... this place is his first choice to go when he wants Japanese food. I will definitely visit Yume when I come back to visit Lodi... On my second thought, Masa's family should move with me to Long Beach!!! Arigato & Sayonara!

I lived in Japan for four solid years. Not on an army base, but settled in-between rice fields in rural Shimotsuma. I ate traditional Japanese meals with my Japanese husband and his family. I'll say Yume with its owner straight from this bustling island himself brings back the tastes I miss while being back in the states. Very traditional, but with subtle American flairs enjoyable to all. Once you know what real Japanese food tastes like you won't be going back to the run of the mill chains.

We had been here once when first opened. It did not impress. We're sorry we waited so long to try it again. We started off the spicy Seared Tuna Salad. Very tasty with a generous amount of perfectly done tuna with sliced avocado and just the right amount of sesame oil dressing. The Spicy Red dragon was great. Simply not to fancy or saucy. The Spicy Crunchy Scallop roll is the best we have ever had. Not only did it have asparagus inside but the plate was adorned with spears to make it one of the most eye catching sushi roll we'd ever seen. $16.00. We'd eat two if we could. We have never had to wait for a table but we always go during the week. It's our go to sushi place now.

Oh man. This place is so good. Literally just finished my meal and its amazing. I called in a togo order for my lunch and it was ready to go in no time. The lady at the front was extremely nice and the atmosphere inside was lovely. I will definitely be back again.

I stopped in for a quick lunch with my 7 month old baby. Most places have staff that would cringe at the prospect of a single adult diner plus a baby. Not Yume! We had wonderful & friendly service from Fabiola, the hostess. The miso soup is sublime, the Chirashi came with a very generous array of sashimi (Oh, how I Love, LOVE, LOOOOVE the scallop sashimi!!!). They even brought us a tiny plate of cubed tofu for my little one, so he could try something new. Outstanding service, wonderfully fresh & artfully prepared sashimi and sushi rice. Highly recommended.

I have a love-hate relationship with sushi, so this place getting 5 stars is a big deal. Everything here is very fresh and flavorful.

2 stars because the service was really good. We sat at the sushi bar. Since the reviews were mixed, we wanted to test the waters. We ordered: Edamame - it was served cold. Really cold. It was a first for me but not bad. Sashimi sampler - tuna, salmon and yellowtail. The salmon was cut in squares, barely bigger than a postage stamp. The yellowtail was absolutely butchered. It fell apart because it was cut so poorly. The tuna was the only decent sized cut that resembled sashimi I have had before. 2 small hot sakes - $5.00 each, really? I have been to the thai place next door several times and noticed this place was eerily empty. Now I know why.

Yume is definitely my Lodi Area Favorite for Japanese food. Recently, they started offering a "Dinner for Two" for $35 which includes: Edamame Gyoza (best tasting around!) Miso Soup 2 entrees (they even let you do minor substitutions, which is awesome!) 2 mochi balls for dessert. My wife loves their SPICY TERIYAKI sauce, last night she had the Salmon. I love the Crunchy Rainbow Roll. I've had many different items from their menu as well as specials over the last few years and I have yet to have anything that wasn't up to par. (I still love the pumpkin tempura and the eggplant appetizers!) Fish is always fresh and never questionable... (Ever had sashimi that you were afraid to put it in your mouth? Well that has never happened here!) The service is almost always excellent: prompt and attentive. The place is always clean. They have a wide array of Sake to try. They always have relaxing dinner music playing softly in the background which adds to the family friendly atmosphere. (As opposed to at least one place in town where I leave with a headache after sitting through 45+ mins of head thumping hip hop - Not to say I don't like dance music, but save it for the club scene...Needless to say, I don't go that place any more) The owner is very friendly and always makes sure to step out from behind his sushi bar to make sure all of his guests are having an enjoyable meal.

Service is hit and miss kind of awkward but they always mean well. The chicken teriyaki bowl is a great deal $7.00 for good quality and a huge portion. I'm not a fan of their sushi although I haven't had it in along time I am willing to try it again so I an give this place a fourth star because they deserve it. Came here once 15 minutes before closing and they welcomed us in hesitantly but still had no problem serving us!

Meh, the food here is just okay, but the prices are on the lower size which is a nice plus. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and tofu and split a spicy tuna roll. The chicken and tofu wasn't anything special. It sort of tasted like something I could make myself. The tuna in the roll didn't taste terribly fresh. It tasted fishy and not in a good way. I get you're eating raw fish, but I've eaten plenty of tuna rolls and this one just didn't taste great. Service was good and the chef checked in on the table. I'm not saying it was bad, it just wasn't anything special.

I wasn't overly impressed with Yume. I had high hopes based on the 5 star reviews but I found their sushi to be just okay and overpriced. We ordered two rolls and some sashimi and we were disappointed when the fish served seemed warm, like the cooler it was in was not set cold enough. Our rolls and sashimi were this way. Not sure if I'll try them again based on the less than stellar sushi and high prices.

I've been here a few times & always had perfect service. The food was good, but not great. Then we came with a friend who frequents this place 2x or more a week, and what he ordered us, was simply the BEST sushi. One of the items that stand out were thin slices of peaches wrapped with smoked salmon. The fish was so fresh and the peaches just the right amount of crispness & sweetness, that it could easily pass as an appetizer or dessert. Another stand out appetizer was jumbo shrimp that was boiled and served along side a spicy jalapeño/lime sauce. Simple yet delicious. We also had sashimi of fatty tuna, scallops, salmon & a few other delicious items. Every piece of fish was exceptionally fresh & the right temp. Why the 4 stars? Well, out of everything I've had here, from the amazing Japanese pumpkin tempura to the high priced sashimi, I would say a few "simple" items are a bit overpriced. The Boiled Jumbo Shrimp for one, is waaaaaaaay overpriced. And We only received a teaspoon of the sauce in our to-go box. Thank God we ordered 2! I do love this place & chef Masa has an incredible way of pairing sashimi with flavors a regular sushi spot wouldn't think of. And we will continue to come here, but, I don't think I'll order my favorite appetizer as it's too expensive for what you receive.

Great place for sushi. Good presentation and service. Clean place and tasty food. This is my new favorite place for sushi in lodi by far. Kinda pricey but worth it in my opinion. Maybe I'm giving this place such a good review because I was with good company, who knows.

Not the best but not the worst. We started with Edamame which was served cold (I prefer warm) and nothing special. We ordered the Tempura Roll, Spider Roll, and non-spicy Red Dragon Roll. Service was fast and friendly. Presentation was nice. We all agreed the Tempura Roll was our favorite. The others seemed to lack special flavor.
