I have been going to the original DeVinci's for years, over 35 years. (Stockton or March Lane). Years ago it was sold, and the food quality suffered a little. With this last sale/new owners has taken it to a whole new level, and not a good one. The pesto is so watered down, it looks more like a soup. I have never has pesto that looked and tasted so bad. We all know pesto is very easy, some basil, garlic and olive oil mixed with whatever pasta you like, a few pine nuts if you choose some Parmesan and you are good to go. There are many variations, some include cream, etc. but NONE include water. Same goes for the sauce used in the raviolis. The food served from their deli counter is very bland with watered down sauces. The Italian bread/Focaccia isn't any better. It is dry and again, lacking seasoning. Even the salads have changed and not for the better. I do have to say, their catered food is slightly better. Overall, the food suffered in the original sale, with the latest sale it has went to h*** in a hand basket. So sad, what was once a great, neat little place to go get some good home cooked Italian food, with great service is no longer. They took something that was so simple, tried to expand and in the process sacrificed the quality. Right now would be the time to BRING Angelina's back to Lodi!

Raviolis are always fantastic, but this is the first time I've tried the lasagna. I had to wait about 15 minutes but that was fine since it is so popular. I asked for a larger portion, and because it was so hot and fresh, the server went to get larger spatulas. I mentioned twice she could cut it up in sections. Assured she could transfer in one piece, I thought I was safe. So wrong!!! Half of the piece made it in the container and the rest stayed in the pan she was taking it from. Then she added it on top of the lasagna. Sloppy mess! Never again!

Great customer service and food here! Only "complaint" was a bit of tension I heard between employees. One stated "Well I have to do my job, so I'm not doing that." People, you're a team! Besides overhearing that, great experience.

We stopped in for a quick lunch with friends. The food was really good for a reasonable price. I had the tortellini with a salad. Both were scrumptious. The salad dressing was great. Tasted homemade. My husband had the lasagna and he liked that also. Would definitely stop back in if we were in the area again.

Good service :) Good food Nice restaurant appeal BUT.....Very small portions! we were disappointed in the small serving of pasta, salad and bread size. Not like the other stores. :( Will have to try another location to feel like I'm getting my money's worth.

My husband and I got married on Sept 20th 2014 and used De Vinci's for our catering. I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Trevor and his team! Planning a wedding is expensive and stressful. De Vinici's delivers top quality food and service at extremely reasonable pricing. We got married at Harmony Wynelands and there were some questions about what the venue would provide and what we needed to rent (plates, glassware, etc)... Trevor was FANTASTIC at helping us navigate the rentals. He even gave us very specific questions to ask the venue. Again, I cannot stress enough how excellent the service was. Service is all fine and dandy but what about the food... DELICIOUS! I have not lived in Lodi for nearly 10 years, I'd had De Vinci's in the past (who Lodi hasnt?) but didn't really know what to expect. I was blown away with how delicious all the food was. In fact, as I am typing this I am craving some meat raviolis with meat sauce. Anyway, the point is, the food is great! And we had TONS of left overs for Sunday football at grandpas the day after the wedding. Bottom line: GREAT FOOD. EXCELLENT SERVICE. AMAZING PRICES! My other vendors for the wedding: Venue: Harmony Wynelands (see review yelp.com/biz/harmony-wyn… ) Katie Herche Photography (see review yelp.com/biz/katie-photo… ) Steve Fox- DJ (Bay Area based)

Fantastic food every time! Best lasagna ever! Don't leave without trying the meat ravioli and foccacia bread. Very resonable prices for catering. I have heard taco Tuesday is to die for. We will be returning soon

De Vinci's catered my Son & Daughter-in-law's wedding 6/28/14. I've been going to the restaurant in Stockton since High School and the food is just as wonderful today! They were right on time and in sync throughout the evening. Many guests commented to me that they thought the wait staff were from the Venue. They were very professional, respectful and hospitable. Fantastic customer service, they went above and beyond without hesitation! It is also the 1st wedding I've been to where seconds were offered and that was very much appreciated! Special Thanks to Trevor and his 3 staff members. I wished I'd gotten their names because they were truly attentive and appreciated. During such a very special time, De Vinci's proved to be a perfect match for our Venue. Donna Hinojos, Mother of the Groom and Grace Denny, Mother of the Bride

Affordable simple italian food. Been ordering food from DeVinci's locations since I was in high school (10+ years) and my college often had them cater our school events, so I've been lucky to get to try many of their dishes multiple times. I like that the food actually tastes homemade and it's ability to stay pretty consistent throughout the years. They have various options including pesto pasta, lasagnas, chicken, and soups. My favorite thing to order would have to be the veggie lasagna with some delicious focaccia bread for dipping up all the good red sauce. The price is affordable and the service is always great.

I went in some time ago(forgot to post this when I originally wrote it) with my Yelp deal and let them know that it was my first time there. They were not only friendly but they let me try four of the different pastas. I got the alfredo ravioli, some sort of cheesy potato thing, green beans and salad. Oh, and the bread! WOW! Even if I'd hated the food here, I would have come back for the bread. They have all the bread laid out on a counter so that you can pick the softness and colour that's right for you. Onto the food: The green beans and bacon are delicious but I think a little overpriced. $5.99/pint. I really should have gotten a quart for the 3-4 people I ate with. The Alfredo ravioli were pretty good but not the best Alfredo sauce I've ever had. Next time I think I'll try the regular meat ravioli.

This is the worst De Vinci's I have gone to. I live in Lodi, but I drive to Stockton just to get De Vinci's, because they are literally that amazing. The one in Lodi has extremely runny sauce and gives you really small portions for the same price as Stockton which gives you almost triple the amount of pasta (which has the most perfect sauce) and double the amount of salad. Plus, the environment in Stockton's De Vinci's isn't as awkward as Lodi's De Vinci's. All I eat is pasta so this is all very important to me. Just go to Stockton.

I truly believe that a place needs to not just have amazing food but great customer service to succeed, therefore when i was contacted by trevor with a message apologizing for the experience i had at his De Vincis Restaurant i was willing to give this place another try. Trevor offered me $20 certificate to compensate my previous experience and encourage me to give them another try. My husband and i decided to use this offer finally and we ordered the #10 combo which comes with a pint of pasta, a salad, half bread and 4 pieces of chicken for around $22.99. The girl who helped us was wonderful, she didn't have on a name tag but she was a brunette with beautiful green/grey eyes. she was amazing, we wanted to try to pastas so she allowed us to split the 1 pint into two half pints. so we got the ravioli and tortellini. The #9 gave us a huge amount of food for around $25 with tax. we ended up paying only $5 for all that food. Thank you trevor for the certificate. Pros: -AMAZING service. I was impressed but how professional and courteous everyone was. Trevor was kind enough to offer us a chance to give this place another try. Owning a business is not just about the product, it also has a lot to do with how you treat your customers and wether they have a good enough experience to come back. It does mean alot to me when a business values and pays attention to the opinion of its customers. -The focaccia bread here is my favorite, its soft and made fresh - I love salads with garbanzo and kidney beans so i did like the salad and their blue cheese dressing is good as well. - tortellini was good just not amazing, but it was good, cooked perfectly with a creamy, white sauce that tasted almost buttery. - chicken was okay, nothing amazing but it was juicy and tender. had a hint of rosemary which was nice. Cons; - the ravioli lacked the amount of flavor i prefer. my husband thought it was okay but it wasn't something i really liked or would ever crave. i would definitely come back for the bread, the tortellini and the service. 3 star for good and and an extra star for going out of the way to satisfy a customer.

Food was good, but I have ate at other De Vinci's in Stockton and Manteca and it is better. The portions here are smaller and the sauce is VERY thin and runny. The cheese tortellini in Alfredo sauce was not good at all. It had no flavor and was so runny and thin, literally like water. Bread was good, but they did not offer to butter it for us like they do in Stockton and Manteca. They just handed me some butter pats.

  • Nicole M.

Talk about a rude owner. Would be nice if he treated his guests kindly when they say hello instead of walk away. The food is good but it was cold. The portions have gotten smaller and the prices have gone up.

  • Connie C.

I think this is the best pasta place I've gotten food from in a long time. I like the homey feel of the restaurant. There were a lot of people sitting there and getting take-out at 4:45pm. Popular Lodi place! The ravioli and cheese tortellini were tasty smothered in their homemade sauce. The bread was amazing. It's buttery without being greasy and yet airy and fresh. I didn't find a lot of flavor dipping my bread into the leftover sauce on the plate but add some parm and it was still a delicious hearty meal.

    (3)
  • Julie B.

I love the food, but not the prices. Ordered their cheapest combo (#1) and a brownie and it came to $11.64 for lunch. I have noticed a significant change over the past year in their portion sizes. Same price ... much less food.

  • Annie K.

I came here with my sister for lunch. Bought the yelp deal! The deal is good- you can get quite a bit of food with the coupon! I got the ravioli and chicken plate. The ravioli was okay, sort of like chef boyardee and sort of cold. I wish the food was hotter when they serve it though! But it is cafeteria style, so I get it. The chicken was pretty good though! Flavorful and not dry. My sister got the pesto pasta and it was good. Again, it was a tad bit not as hot as I would like it to be.

  • Lauren R.

If you are like myself and looking for quality homemade Italian this is not the place. Lacks overall flavor and tasted like there were no added spices to the meat in the ravioli or the meat sauce. Ordered the lasagna and ravioli. The lasagna was literally just noodles on top of each other with a bit of meat sauce and cheese on top...no meat inside, no cheese inside, no ricotta, no basil, no nothing! I'm not Italian and can make better lasagna...as for the meat ravioli at first bit I almost thought it was chef boyardee. We are visiting from out of town and because of great yelp reviews we decided to try it was was greatly disappointed. If you're looking for genuine flavorful Italian, Pietros is a bit farther and a few dollars more and 10000x better.

  • Anthony V.

Terrible customer service and the food was cold, very disappointed. I love the two locations in stockton but I will never return to this location. I bought the yelp coupon $10 for $20 never again !!!!! They need to hire all new staff who care about the customer's and not just sitting around talking all day. Ignoring the people who pay your bills is terrible.

Good service! The ladies there were very helpful, kind, and they were all gods people-people. I enjoy their asparagus raviolis and their custom sandwiches. It's also very cheap!

As always, our traditional Christmas dinner of ravs (cheese/ pesto & red sauce)were delicious! Generous sauce kept moist for reheat. Organized and efficient, came with extra sauce & parm. Thanks Trevor & crew!

Yum!!!! This place is great for any type event. The food is always fresh & so yummy. The prices are affordable & the service is great. We have been using them for over 10 years & have never been disappointed. If you are debating on having them cater an event, I would highly recommend going down and trying the food. (Especially their raviolis & bread, they are to die for!) The food speaks for itself :) Okay, now I'm hungry!

  • Ken T.

What an amazing experience!!! There was some miscommunication as to which day I was supposed to pick up my order....Saturday or Sunday, but that wasn't an issue whatsoever! I needed it for Sunday....and Trevor, the owner, met with me even though the restaurant is closed on Sundays!!!! It was a very important event for my fiancé and I....and I thank Trevor very much. I know I'll be back again not only because our guests ate up all of the food...(and yes, very delicious)...but also because of the service. They go beyond the standard. A+ goes to the Pesto pasta, lasagna and fettuccini Alfredo XD

    (5)
  • Tricia D.

My rep ordered and paid for 27 people, there was only enough to feed 20 people. the pesto penne was watery like soup.

  • Kristal M.

For Italian food, it tasted like Chef BoyarNASTY! Sauce on the lasgna was gross, oh and thanks for giving me the burnt corner piece? Sandwich was really sad, I wouldn't have given it to a starving child. If I took the french roll the sandwich was made with I could have broke their front window if I threw it at it. On a positive note, Hawaiian chips were bomb - but they didn't make them! So if you want to be fancy and buy chips at a Deli and not a grocery store by all means do so here. I should have used my Yelp 10 for 20 deal strictly on 20 bags of chips! Service was great, extremely nice. I just wish the food matched the service.

    (2)
  • Noneya B.

So good but expensive, cheaper than the Butcher Shoppe and more tastey! I loved my sandwich and my children loved the raviolis!

De Vinci's catered our daughter's wedding in July 2014 at Oak Farm Vineyards. Trevor and his staff did a wonderful job from start to finish, including all of the planning months before hand right up to the clean-up on the wedding night. The food was delicious and the service was courteous and professional. They did a great job of setting up, serving, and went above and beyond in packaging the left-overs. We could not have hoped for a better experience. Trevor was great to work with, and If you are looking for excellent food and service, look no further than De Vinci's Delicatessen & Catering in Lodi!!

My dh and I went here after buying a Yelp deal, which is a great deal--$10 for $20 worth of food. De Vinci's serves their food cafeteria-style, where you go to the counter and order, and the servers scoop from ready-made trays of various pastas. The girls behind the counter were very friendly and accommodated my husband's request for a sample. They have a t.v. in the corner; it was tuned to the Food Network. I sat with my back to it because watching other food being prepared while I'm eating just makes me want to try what I'm watching and not enjoy what I'm eating. I ordered the ravioli with a side of green beans; my dh had the lasagna and tortellini Alfredo and a side salad. Both meals came with focaccia bread. I have to say the green beans were delish! They're made with bacon, and bacon makes a great condiment. The salad was fresh and cold. My husband liked his tortellini and my ravioli were very yummy. The big drawback, however, (and the reason for only 3 stars) was the temperature of the food. I like my hot food, hot and my cold food, cold. The pasta and beans were tepid, at best. I felt like they needed to be zapped in the microwave for a bit. It was hard to really savor the flavor when with every bite I was wishing it was hotter. We'll definitely go back, but I might order my food to-go, take it home and warm it up. Then I'll really enjoy it.

This place came highly recommended, and it smelled amazing when we walked in. Unfortunately, the food did not really taste as good as it smelled and was rather bland. Too bad we wanted to really like it

REVIEW FOR WEDDING CATERING: No complaints!! I seriously had THEE best experience with Trevor and his staff. From the time we had our first tasting to the actual wedding day, I got nothing but friendly service, quick turn around on emails and quotes! We were very impressed with the fact they give free tastings and when we actually went in, the amount of food was redic! Plus, they boxed up what we didn't eat and we got to take it home. Trevor was awesome, he came to the house to just see the logistics of everything about a week before. Was very good at returning emails and answering questions. I had a bit of an advantage because I work at a party rental place - so I didn't have to worry about rentals with him. The food was amazing, the staff was amazing, and I was told the staff was even dancing in the garage at one point (so I hope they have fun too!!) Would refer them to anyone that asked! Thank you again for all your help & great food - Trevor and staff!! Kelly & Tyler 6.2.12

  • Pippy L.

Pippy always be liking the ravioli and foccacia! Been eatin this since my teenage years in stockton. A full serving with buttered foccacia is tough to beat on a cool fall evening! The salads are fresh and always tasty and dont be afraid of any of the other pasta, Pippy always stays with the raviloi though so for the rating.... Pippy be giving DeVincis BOTH Pigtais and a stocking all the way up! A winner for all

From Trevor P... (who's been messaging reviewers like crazy lately...) "Hello R.L . I would like to thank you again for giving us another chance. I am pleased to hear you noticed and appreciated some of the changes we made, much to do with your initial review. I am also extremely sorry you still had somewhat of an unpleasant experience. We continue daily to make improvements and keep up with the positives we have going. I hope you find your way back again. Thanks again Trevor"

Oh De Vinci's you make a pasta lover swoon!! This is the place I go when I am craving me some greatness drizzled over noodles. And of course, a slice of heaven bread on the side. In all realness, this is the place to go if you want some awesome italian food for a great price and served to you with EXCEPTIONAL service. I've been here countless times and will always be a returning customer. Yummy!

Good sandwiches. Awesome bread. Can't complain. If you go in to eat, they do have high chairs and a TV.

  • G P.

The staff here always offer fast, friendly and professional service. The food is very consistant. My husband loves the ravioli and I love the blue cheese dressing. We usually get the pint of ravioli, a big salad and half a flat of bread for $14.99. They've recently expanded their beer and wine selection. The only reason why they're getting 4 stars is because they discontinued their buy several get one free punch cards. To be honest we don't come here near as often now that the punch card deal is gone.

This is one of my bf's 3 must visit places when we're in Lodi. On this visit we used a yelp deal. Had no problem using it at all. Sometimes when you use groupon deals you get dirty looks, but not this time. They actually seemed excited. Which is so refreshing. We always get our order to go. We ordered the pesto pasta, ravioli's, lasagna and focaccia bread. Everything tasted delicious as always. First time getting their lasagna but I'll def get it again as long as I have someone to share it with because they sell it by the pound.

  • Erika H.

I love this place! First off, the food is delicious. I could eat just the Foccicia bread all day. But my review is really for the staff. I've been to De Vinci's many many times and the workers there are always polite, helpful, and kind. No matter if I'm coming in just for lunch, or if I'm ordering catering for 50 people. They always help me with a smile on their face.

We stop here frequently on our way to hockey games, for the most part we get a good dinner for a great price, the night we stopped in they had been painfully slow the clerk told us and so I think that was why our dinner was pretty lackluster, the chicken was soooooooo dry from sitting in the warmer all day.

    (3)
  • Lily B.

Our favorites are the raviolis, tortellini alfredo, and green beans. The food consistently tastes the same and service is friendly. The lasagna is wonderful too, but unless I'm throwing caution to the wind calorie- wise, I have to stay away from it. It's loaded with both flavor and ingredients! I've used De Vinci's for feeding large groups on more than one occasion. It's always gone over well. Everyone especially loves the Focaccia bread.

  • Tegan M.

I'm not surprised to see other reviewers who had just as positive of an experience with De Vinci's as we did. They catered our wedding last month and from the moment I first called to inquire, to the moment the servers said goodnight after the wedding I was nothing but impressed with the customer service. Trevor was amazing to work with and he even took the initiative to call our rental company to make sure we didn't forget anything. The servers were wonderful and did so much for us. Of course, the most important part, the food-- delicious. Our guests raved and we were extremely happy with everything. The best part? Everything was affordable. I wanted to cry (happy tears) when I got the estimate. I want to somehow bring this place a bunch more business because I feel like I got such a good deal. If I need anything catered, or know anyone who does, I would recommend De Vinci's in a heartbeat. Thank you, Trevor and team!!!

  • TINA W.

I would like to start by saying that I LOVE this place & their food however ever since they've been offering the YELP deal, the portions have shrunk! I do love the raviolis and will continue to go there but I'm hoping they go back to the original servings or I will have to start buying the yelp deals to compensate for the lack of portions.

  • Beau C.

Great food at a great price and friendly staff. We have used them for catering and office lunches and are very pleased. There is a nice dining area where you can sit and relax over a combo plate. Their portions are generous and the focaccia is fresh and tasty. The good: lasagna, spagetti, ravioli, chicken, beef, sauce....the bad: no amex, but it is worth putting on a personal card and doing an expense check.

  • Dana C.

Just used De Vinci's catering for a small event last week. The raviolis and tortellini were great and the sauces were really good too. You can't go wrong ordering the meal raviolis, thats what they are known for! Normally the focaccia bread is soft and fresh, but our bread seemed a little on the dry side. The salad is nothing special, just iceberg lettuce with a few kidney and garbanzo beans. Its not bad, just very basic. I would use De Vinci's again.

  • Robert W.

Great food, pasta is always fresh and sauce on the raviolis is perfect. Great for the kids and casual dining. A must have when friends come to town.

De Vinci's does an excellent job for catering at private events. Highly recommended for weddings or anniversaries, these are my go-to caterers for South Sac, Stockton, and Lodi area.

  • Cristy B.

I've NEVER had an unpleasant experience at De Vinci's, & I've eaten here several times (mostly take out). My favorite is the ravioli, & my husband absolutely loves their lasagna. We have them add extra sauce to the lasagna, & it's perfect for us. The focaccia is pretty good too. Prices are reasonable & service is great! I know I can always satisfy my ravioli cravings by coming here. I will definitely be back!

  • Dave M.

Clean restaurant, friendly service and solid food. I've eaten here many times over the years and it is very consistent. Very generous portions for the price, everything pretty fresh. I like the fresh made foccacia bread and the ravioli's. I also get the chicken and a salad on occasion. The minestrone soup is also very good. They also serve beer and wine at quite reasonable prices. I feel they really shine in catering. I've had the opportunity to attend a few events they have catered and the food is quite creative and very good. You can't beat the conscientious attention from the people who own the restaurant or their staff. If you want a quick, unpretentious place for lunch or take out, give it a try.

Yum yum yum yum yum! I've been going to DVs since the 80s in downtown Stockton. They catered my business meetings. So happy they are in Lodi. Super good balls & sauce, chicken Strog, lasagne. Even the green beans & salad is good. They used to make dynomite chicken tetrazini but haven't seen it lately. We love to pick up the frozen ravi and cook at home for guests. Always get extra sauce for dipping the french bread. And again may I just say ... yum yum yum yum yum!

De Vinci's catered for our wedding this year. They were very professional and the service was great. The only complaint we had was a few tables and a table cloth were missing on the order. It turned out to be okay because we caught it in time but it was an error that could have had big consequences for the wedding. Overall the food was amazing, the owner and staff were very nice and helpful and they were very punctual. The price was great for the catering for the wedding. I would recommend them.

Always a solid go to when it's my night to cook. Good food, friendly staff, clean restaurant. I asked for spaghetti noodles with pesto sauce which isn't in the pans out front and they had no problem accommodating me. Nice to see an owner working as hard if not harder than the rest of the staff. Plus the yelp deal is awesome!

I have eaten De Vinci's nearly my entire life. Mainly from the Stockton area. This week's meal will be my families last. Simply stated it has consistently over the past 2 years been the most flavorless Italian food I and my family have ever eaten. During this final meal my children, wife and I stopped eating after 3 minutes and looked at each other in unison and decided overwhelmingly to trash it all except for the bread. I personally stopped eating their rav's sometime ago because I was sick and tired of the watered down meat gravy with dough balls. When the old school De Vinci's and flavors come back let me know. For now you have lost a customer.

  • Becky H.

Good food and a reasonable price. I first had their food when my family catered it for an event. We had salad and raviolis and focaccia bread. All were as good as I would expect, not amazing, but just good. I've returned for take out a few times and the staff has been nothing but friendly. They offer samples which I appreciate because it's hard for me to make a decision and I don't want to head home with something less than par.

About a month ago we were out of town visitors of Lodi passing through to watch ASA softball. There are nothing like those repeated visits to fast food restaurants to make your weekend drag you down. But we wanted something wanted something different. We wondered in on a Sunday afternoon looking for a reprieve from fried....you name it. We found it here. My party of two ordered the lunch special for a reasonable price (it was between 5-8 bucks each-can't recall...sorry), which consisted of a nice green salad topped with an optional bean salad, cup of pasta (pesto or marinara), and a hefty serving of garlic toast. Honestly the pasta was ok. It seemed way past al dente and it seemed to overcook the pesto. My mom ordered the marinara, which was better, but not geared toward our personal taste. We really enjoyed the garlic bread, which was delivered to our table fresh and out of the oven. Big Yum-o for that, and the salad with Italian vinaigrette was delish. It was so delish we sopped it up with our garlic toast. Even though the pasta was just ok, if passing through Lodi again, I would definitely stop there again and try another lunch special. The items seemed fresh, the place was clean, reasonably priced and it was a great reprieve from softball weekend fast food restaurants.

Great raviolis, and they always have a daily special dish that is usually delicious. If you get a Yelp gift certificate though, make sure you print it out because they won't let you use your phone to redeem it.

De Vinci's is one the best little places in Lodi where you casually drop in and get a quality meal for a decent price. Their raviolis and focaccia are awesome. Cheerful efficient service and don't forget they have taco Tuesdays with .50 cent beers, you can't beat that!

Love DeVinci's! Food and service are excellent. They catered my wedding 19 years ago and have always loved this restaurant. A definite must visit!

We came here for the ravioli. It is almost always firm, not mushy, and is served with enough sauce so you can dip your focaccia. The service was also friendly, and our coupon was accepted without problems.

Staff was very friendly and efficient but the food was sub par. We ordered two #2's with ravioli, chicken stroganoff, pesto, and cheese tortellini. FLAVORLESS. The pesto was the worst. It was so watered down it was like soup, so when eating the noodles all the sauce dripped right off and it tasted like nothing. The ravioli was watery as well. The tortellini sauce had a bit of flavor but desperately needed salt and pepper. The stroganoff was the best out of the meal but it was still just average. We were expecting a home cooked taste but instead the sauces were generic and shockingly bland. The focaccia was good though. No desire to eat here ever again. Don't waste your money.

I'm so glad that I had a chance to eat at De Vinci's yesterday, thanks to Trevor, who blessed my family of 6. If you hadn't had a chance to eat there, why not the girls are great, and the service was wonderful. OMG, don't forget your bread. It's to die for.

I don't know why people complain about it so much. Whatever. It is their review. Well, I actually had them at our wedding a few years ago. The one in Galt was gonna charge us per plate. Only because they wanted to make more off us. They actually had trays, but wouldn't sell them. Obviously, they closed that one down. So we asked Lodi and my mom got trays of stuff. They did a rosemary chicken, raviolis with meat sauce, and cheese ravioli with pesto. Of course we also had their awesome bread! So many people were asking who made it because it was so good. We had an outdoor winery wedding. They were surprised it was De Vinci's (Most hadn't eaten there yet.). I haven't been there in awhile, but I am a fan! I hope to go soon again. I think it is definately more italian authentic. That is maybe why people complain of the taste. It isn't loaded with a bunch of crap like other places. It is more natural tasting. Like something I could make if I knew how (which I don't).

Two 5 star ratings... First for their food, it's AWESOME and second for their giving so much of this awesome foods to the community in feeding the homeless and those in need in their community. This business is the real-deal and we all should support them for it. Great food, loving heart... what more could we want. I highly respect them and encourage all to visit the restaurant... you will not be disappointed.

DeVincis is great from the time you walk in to the time you leave. Everyone who works there is very friendly and kind and the food is always delicious. Don't let the buffet style fool you at all, before you knock it, try it, and they do SO many orders for parties that you've probably had the food at someones party, LOVED it, and didn't know it came from there. If the ravioli's or other pastas are low I ask for a new one and the girls there have never complained about it and always have gotten new pasta for me. And if there's something missing from the line that I would like, they usually always can whip something up for me. Also.. from reading other peoples reviews... I have always gotten a GREAT portion of food with my meals, they're not light handed with their portions, I have gotten a tough piece of french bread, and when I asked they told me a couple times a week they don't receive their Genova bread order, so it is a day old which makes it tougher. SO... if you do have any problems you should ask questions because the people there really seem to help.

Not sure what it is, but the previous review is a bit off. Seasonally speaking, check the menu. I'm serious - its as easy as that. They've got daily specials - by season. Anyway, I ordered the combo1: pesto fetuccini (your choice), salad w/ vinaigrette, foccacia, sprite. Pretty good to be honest, and coming from LA, good Italian food can be missed, along w/ good Thai, good Mexican, good blah blah blah... you get the idea. De Vinci's does Italy good, and I've been to IT. I'll be back. They're worth my hard earned $$ and yours...

I have used De Vinci's for many years in Stockton & lately have been so disappointed with the corners they have cut. Unfortunately, I haven't dined with them in a very long time because of it. Recently, on a trip to Lodi that went a little longer then expected, I decided to get take for dinner on my way home. De Vinci's (Lodi) was very close & I decided to give them a try. WOW! From the moment I walked in....what a difference. Smiling faces greeted me. They actually held a personal conversation & were VERY friendly & polite. UNLIKE either Stockton locations. I got my usual...Raviolis, salad & green beans. Hands down, THE BEST RAVIOLIS I'VE EVER EATEN! Not sure what they do so differently, but the meat sauce was thicker & clung to the noodle & the actual ravioli noodle was a nice firm & intact. These were soooooo good! I will drive the extra miles to use Lodi De Vinci's always. Great job LODI DE VINCI'S....PLEASE DON'T CHANGE ANYTHING & DON'T CHEAPEN YOUR PRODUCT BY CUTTING CORNERS. I LOVE IT & YOUR STAFF!

The Tiffany Lagapa-Sanchez and Christian Solis families would like to publicly thank the Lodi DeVinci's catering staff for everything that you guys and gals did today and this week to make their wedding a success!!!! We thought that everything was lost when our original caterer contact had left the company, but Trevor stepped in and went above and beyond and when I say that I mean he treated us like royalty. The servers who seamlessly came and went were professional and courteous to our guests, Trevor worked well with our vendors and really made this once in a lifetime special day for the Bride and Groom, even more memorable. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed themselves, some of the kids and adults went back for more. Thank you for sharing with us your very best. We can not say enough and neither can LSO Event Planning and St. Jorge Winery whom said they will definitely be partnering with you again in the future!! Much Success to you and the De Vinci's family in the Future!

It is perhaps unfair to rate a restaurant without tasting the food, but, in the case of DeVinci's, my wife and I had no desire to do so. After church this Sunday, we stopped by the place on south Church Street in Lodi. There were no diners, except for a table of teenagers loudly talking. We approached the steam trays on the buffet bar and were immediately turned off by the presentation of the food items. The meat was an off color and the other food looked unappetizing. The lasagne did not resemble the kind I had been used to and no one had cut into the serving tray, suggesting that few folks had eaten there today. This restaurant had been heralded in the Lodi Sentinel as "Best of 2008," which actually might hold true, since we have found few places in this town which are reasonably priced and offer tasteful fare. We also looked at the Shangri La restaurant up the street, but it was so outrageously expensive we ate at El Pajaro, and that, too, was a disappointment.

I enjoy getting De Vinci's for family gatherings. They are always a wonderful addition to our main course. Our family favorites are the raviolli's and focaccia bread.

The service was great, the food was wonderful, we spoke to Trevor, who was AWESOME!! We came to taste test for my friend's wedding and he did whatever he could to let us know that he was on our side, and wanted the best for us. Support this place because of the people, because they are clearly on your side...

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
