We came ended up coming here in valentines day because the steak house down the road had a 2 hour wait. I'm glad we came here. I'm not much of a steak fan anyways, and you can never go wrong with pizza. We were a group of ten so we thought finding a table would be difficult. But one of the workers told us we could coming three tables, which was nice if her. Now to the pizza, it was very good, one of the best pizzas I've eaten. The crust was just right , not too much sauce, perfect amount of cheese. We ordered a large with pepperoni, mushroom and sausage. We also got some wings which were also tasty. The only downside is the salad bar, you can only fill the container once, but it is a large container so stuff it good. If we ever come back camping in kernville, I'll be sure that this will be our first restaurant to visit.

Took a spontaneous trip to the Kern River to go camping, but some of the group wanted to go into town for some pizza. I trailed along to get some phone reception, and to grab a much needed salad [hot dogs and burgers galore at the camp]. GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD I got this because it had a lot of salad veggies and toppings like cucumbers, grape tomatoes and even some eggs. The chicken is incredibly dry, so i left most of it. It was grilled, but i think it was the while meat part only, and there was absolutely no juice in it. The cucumbers were fresh and crunchy, so i ate every single slice. The tomatoes were ripe and juicy, exploding in my mouth. The egg was hard-boiled and sliced, which was good. The yolk broke and i mashed it into my salad. The bowl was way to small for the salad and everything was spilling over the side. Overall, mediocre salad, but I needed my green fix for the weekend. PIZZA I didn't eat any because I was stuffing my face with homemade burgers and carne asada at camp, but i hear it was delicious. Friends got the pepperoni and cheese small pizza, and others got the pineapple pizza. EXTRA CHEESE PLEASE One of my friends requested extra cheese on half the pizza and it was ummm granted. There was a 1 inch layer of cheese on that side of the pizza!!!! Incredible amounts of melted cheese, so be careful what you ask for!!!!! DRINK Refillable soda fountain.

It can be a wait sometimes depending on the amount of people in there but it is the best pizza in the whole valley. Service can be a bit impersonal at times but still I love the fresh variety of toppings and sides. I always get some of the potato wedges with some ranch...to die for. Pricy but well worth it!

After a day of hiking among Giant Sequioias, this pizza hit the spot. Nicely doughy crust with generous toppings and lots of gooey cheese...nine out of ten 13-year olds prefer Pizza Barn, if you know what I mean. We took our pizza out to our campsite but it looks like it would be just as fun to eat here. They have a tiny little game room in the back with pinball, video games, and air hockey. (always nice to see this old standby) I've been warned that the service here can be slow, but considering we went on Memorial Day weekend during the dinner rush, I think the wait time of 30 minutes in and out was pretty short. This may become a Kernville tradition! Oh, and I really want a Pizza Barn shirt. Buy me one.

Good pizza. The ingredients are fresh and a large pizza is enough for 5 people to share. Definitely a place to stop and eat while in Kernville, there really aren't many places to eat at in this small town so this is totally worth eating.

I love the pizza !order a lot and delivery is always nice and polite I live locally and highly recommend this to anyone

Honestly its a bit overpriced. . . But I was pretty happy with their pizza. The buffalo chicken pizza was comfortably spicy and the white sauce was a hit. We also got a mushroom with peperoni it was Ok. I wasn't a fan of the pizza sauce. It was too sweet for my taste. But when there aren't many places to choose from I'll take what I can get.

We drove up to Kernville this weekend for the Kern River Rock & Blues Fest, and while we were there decided to have dinner at the Pizza Barn. This is not my family's first trip to the Pizza Barn, au contraire, we have been known to drive all the way up the canyon just to have lunch or dinner here and wander about this scenic mountain town. On this occasion, we brought with us two first timers. This is the first time I have ever attempted to review it, so I enlisted the help of everyone in the party to share their impressions with you. Because of the Blues Fest, the entire town was teeming with bikers and blues enthusiasts (my family is made up of the latter, but the two groups seemed to coexist peacefully). The Pizza Barn was packed with patrons planning to eat there, and those just picking theirs up to go. The phone was ringing off the hook with a steady stream of to go and delivery orders. We could see everyone in the kitchen working frantically to try to keep up. We stood in line for a while at the counter to order and pay before we were informed that it could be anywhere from a 30 minute wait to an hour to get food, but we thought that every restaurant in town would be facing the same problem and knowing what we were about to partake in, we happily settled in to visit and wait with a couple of salad bar bowls (one trip only each). The salad ingredients were fresh and tasty, at least all the ones I tried were. The guys were watching a college football game on the widescreen tv while we girls settled in to chat and play with our smart phones. An hour, and many free soda refills, later the food arrived, and we all agreed it was well worth the wait. In fact, we cheered when they walked out with our pizzas and called our names. We were the only ones in the place who had that reaction, but maybe the rest of the diners were not nearly as famished as we were. We ordered two of their largest sized pizzas. One was the buffalo chicken (white sauce, mozzarella, red peppers, and breaded buffalo chicken). It was fabulous on it's own, but with the addition of some of the fresh pineapple from the salad bar it was amazing. We all went gaga over it; this being the first time we had tried this particular flavor. My mom thought it was a little on the spicy hot side, but that the pineapple cooled it down enough for her. I didn't find it very spicy at all and liberally sprinkled on the crushed red pepper, but I really enjoyed the flavor. My brother announced emphatically that this pizza had "ruined me for all others," and suggested I quote him in my review. The other pizza was half Vegetarian (mushroom, green pepper, broccoli, olives and tomatoes. We ordered ours minus the red onion) and half Meat Lovers (salami, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, ham, seasoned beef, and Italian sausage). I tried the Meat Lovers pizza and it was excellent. Thick, meaty, and hearty without being at all greasy. Seriously, I love pepperoni and sausage pizzas, but they are usually dripping with grease and this one wasn't . I didn't try it, but Lynda said her Vegetarian pizza was the best she'd ever had. We also got an order of their 'twists' which were like thickly braided pizza dough breadsticks oozing with garlic butter. Seriously, they were swimming in it, which is what made me realize that by comparison the meaty pizza wasn't greasy at all. It was addictingly scrumptious, though. Frankly, I was tempted to use one of the twists to sop up the bits of butter that clung to the bottom of the serving plate. We had a lovely time here, and it was a nice air conditioned break before we headed back to dance to some sultry blues. They had signs up advertising what appeared to be 3 different flavors of iced coffee drinks, but we didn't have a chance to sample them on this occasion.

BEST PIZZA EVER!! So delicious, it's one of the things I look forward to when we go up to Kern. Such friendly staff, and yummy, fresh pizza. Going up this weekend for Memorial day and looking forward going there!

A fine place. Good pizza, awesome calzones (one of the things they're know for.) In fact, the calzone was sooo big and tasty with a pizza dough crust, I thought NO WAY will eat this entire thing. Well, I did. It's a nice, non-chain place with regular folks just kicking back. Big TV for the baseball fans. Some video games in the back. Got a recommendation from a local, and am very glad to check it out!

What did we want after a great raft trip with Whitewater Voyages? Great Pizza! Lots of gooey cheese. Yum. Fresh and Tasty salad bar with plenty of choices. Cold beer and good service. The Pizza Barn was a huge hit with kids and adults.

Unique kind of pizza :) Our last stop before coming back home from camping or river rafting at the Kern river. The family never get to leave Kernville without having to eat their SPECIAL " LICKETY SPLIT" pizza! I would give a 4.5 for this, but since I can't do that i'll give a 4 lol. A small town pizza shop worth driving for 200miles. Best pizza place in town, I would say.

I have been coming to the Kern River for the past 18 to 20 years and sadly have only eaten at The Pizza Barn for the last few! Usually am camping and cook my own food at the site but for the last few years we camp a few, stay in a hotel a few...soooo...Pizza Barn it is! The pizza is better than most I have had after moving to New York 4 years ago and that is saying a lot! I only get to the river once a year now but we always go to the Barn one or two nights. We like to go on the weeknights before everyone comes camping for the weekends because the wait can be a little long, but that is to be expected for a small town restaurant when there are thousands flocking in for camping and not too many restaurants! The pizza is very fresh, hot, cheesy, and the crust is excellent! The salad bar is good too! Trip is in 2 and a half months so be ready for us Pizza Barn!!

their ranch is like crack. what do they do to it that makes it taste so good!? a question for the ages. every time we come to kernville, we either stop into pizza barn (their pizza buffet lunch is pretty fantastic) or pick something up to eat whilst having some beers at my friend's vacation house. the ingredients taste fresh, and if you order vegetables on your pizza, they are never weird and soggy. the cheese bread is ridiculous. last time i ate there, i dipped the cheese bread into the ranch. that moment made me realize that i'll prob never have a hot body again in my life.

Lovely pizza, check out Menu on the thepizzabarn.com . Nice relaxed athmosphere, friendly staff, very VERY fresh pizza, all made to order. Have not had such a good pizza in a long time, across the globe. I had the calazone, and it was just the right size to make me very full and still think about coming back another day!

We love their pizza and salad. Even enjoyed a chai latte there too. They make their own sauce (learned this from the MRA guides) . The pizza and salads are fresh and high quality of produce. We experienced both the delivery and the restaurant. So nice they had a game room for the kids. Great price and good food. Another place we will visit every trip up!

Pizza Barn = Win USFS hot shots = booooo This is actually a 4.5, but you can't do that, so I'm rounding up. I'm big on camping - backpacking really, and it's kind of tradition for my girl and I to stop at a local pizza place for pizza and beer after a long hike. So after a 4 day backpacking trip of several dozen miles in the high sierras we found ourselves stopping at the Pizza Barn for our traditional beverage and reward meal. Anyways, the place isn't overly flashy, but they have a great assortment of specialty pizzas, and the price for ap beer is really a great deal - in fact the only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star place is the fact that the beer selection is limited. We were all set to order, but when I stepped up to the counter, the guy behind it asked if I wanted the all you can eat buffet.... I didn't even know that existed, but it's a phenominal deal - for eight bucks you get to eat all you want from a wel stocked salad bar, a soda, and all the pizza you want - they have this warmer dealieo that they constantly stuff full of all the different specialty pizzas. So basically, you can try all the different flavors they make, for less than the cost of a medium pizza at most joints. Here's where the USFS guys come into the story, see, unfortunatly we made the mistake of arriving at the same time (well, a minute behind) about a dozen US forest Service firefighters. If there's one thing USFS FFs do wel, it's EAT. Since they ordered in front of us, they cleaned out the salad bar, and then te pizza warmer. That's fine, but what really bugged me was when the last fire guy, who already had 4 pieces of pizza stacked on his plate, looked over his shoulder at my girl and I standing behind him, then still proceded to take the reamining 4 pieces in the warmer. I mean, I get it, fighting fire is hard work, I got hungry when I did it too, but rude is still rude. The joke was on him when they brought out 3 fresh pizzas minutes later though. Back on track... AWESOME pies at a reeediculously good price. Eat there.

On our trip to the area, this is most definitely our first stop. The pizza here is one of the best. Don't expect anything fancy. Our first thoughts about restaurants in small town are they are the only one and that you get less than stellar food. Not here! No gimmicks, just good pizza. It's worth the wait, since each pie is made to order. Just relax, call home to let them know you got here safely, and get ready to enjoy.

Good pizza in a small town. Nice family atmosphere, refillable sodas (a must). Good buffalo wings and twisty garlic bread. One trip salad bar is kinda "eh", not sure if this is just at dinner or not. Service is decent.

I'm giving Pizza Barn 5 stars because it has honestly been one of the best, most memorable pizzas pretty much every time I've been in Kernville for the past 20 years. It's hard to believe that the same toppings on the White Water Pizza (Pepperoni, Sausage, Mushroom, Red Onion, and sub'ing out black olives in place of green bell pepper) that I loved as a river guide in 1995 is just as delicious today. Maybe its that it just tastes better straight from the pizza oven to the table after a day on the water, but I rarely take a trip up to the Kern without wanting to come in for the White Water. My only complaint would be the price on the one-trip salad bar - salad was good, but not a cheap add-on by any means. This time we also had a BBQ Chicken pizza, that was good, too. Thanks, Pizza Barn, for keeping things as good as I remember, time after time.

We came back a second time. I am gonna give a solid 4.5 stars. The food was just as good as before. The only thing holding this place back from a 5 star review is the service. Not that it's not good, it's a pizza place. It's kind of hard to screw up taking an order and delivering it to a table. I can honestly say wow, that was some great pizza. I just cant say, that dude that brought our pizza, wow where did he learn such awesome pizza handling techniques, and did you see the blond girl? That was the best debit card swipe I have ever seen. Don't worry, we'll be back.

Just finished some fantastic pizza! We are from LA and have eaten at a number of pizza places, this place is one of the best I have ever had. Thick crust not over cooked, sauce had some sweetness to it...the more I write the more I want this last slice. Loved the fact it's mom and pop type, the employees that were working were very nice and our pizza was done in no time. Coca cola signs up inside and it has a great feel. Will always come back here, wish we had one closer to home!

The reason for only three stars only 2 and 1/2 games worked out of 6games in the little arcade that was a bummer. If you got some centiped or asteroids or Mrs Packman those run great and Id pay 50¢ to play , would come by more often and spred the word. The pizza was OK. Considering you have no competition. You have a lot of folkes coming from los Angeles and our taste buds are going after higher quality pizza. Nothing really makes me want to say " omg you have to try this pizza place" but hey if your paying your bills Dont fix it if it Into broke.

So we just ate our yesterday's Pizza Barn left over pepperoni pizza right out of the fridge and still love it! If your traveling and keep the pizza cold, you'll enjoy some good cold pizza in my opinion.

Love this place on so many levels. Reminds me of the old time pizza parlors I went to as a kid. Yummy salad bar with the good ranch dressing. The pizza is so delicious and it tastes even better warmed up in the oven the next day. I love watching them toss the dough in the air, you just know it's going to be good.

4 Stars 1. Food - Very good pizza, in fact it may well be the best pizza I've ever eaten. 2. Atmosphere - We sat out on the patio and loved it. Very beautiful view. Inside and out it had a feel that fit the name, "The Pizza Barn". A small arcade with games for the kids. 3. Service - The service was quick and friendly as they bring the pizza to your table. 4. Value - Reasonable priced for the area. $10. Pitchers. 5. Cleanliness - This is where I docked a star. The overall restaurant felt tidy however the restroom was crusty and ran down. Overall I enjoyed The Pizza Barn and love the pizza. It was very cool to enjoy a social hour on the patio in the scenic mountains. They have a good thing going here and will definitely be returning.

Rediculously great pizza! every bite is the perfect crunch of crust, exactly the right amount of melted, stringy cheeses and fresh hot tomato sauce tying it all together in your mouth..our choice of toppings usually include mushroom, pepperoni, fresh tomato(slices on the side actually are better, thanks mike), the one-trip salad bar is full of choices, all fresh, and enough to feed to adults. Cold bottled beers, domestic & import. Giving the full Five due to the consistent Great service; thanks Kernville's Pizza Barn!

Best little pizza joint. My family looks forward to The Pizza Barn every time we visit Kern. Especially this last time since another place in town (Cheyenne's) wasn't so friendly. You get treated well at The Pizza Barn no matter how busy the place gets and the pizza is delectable! Don't miss out on anything else on the menu. Everything is delicious!

I come to the lake for recreational boating all year and this is one of the places I always try to visit. I've been eating here for years, and I never have been disappointed. The pizza and salad special is a great deal for the money. The pizza is great, and they have a wonderful salad bar. Salad is always fresh and the station is clean. I was at the Pizza Factory in Lake Isabella a few months ago and their salad bar was so dirty they should have been reported. Pizza Barn is a great place to take the family for dinner. Keep up the good service folks!

My family was visiting Kernville during the past week and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Pizza Barn so much that we dined there twice, bringing additional family the second time. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza and the antipasto salad. Everything tasted fresh, they obviously use high-quality ingredients. (And, if you're into woodworking, you'll appreciate the beautiful wood countertops, which I believe the owner made himself). Thanks for a great experience, Pizza Barn. We will be back!

A group of friends and myself were camping for memorial weekend. We didn't want to cook at the camp site after a day of fishing so luckily The Pizza Barn was open and not packed. It is a great place for a group of people or just you and another. The pizza was delicious and filling. I ordered wings and the garlic cheese bread. I stuffed my face the food is so good. So if you're ever visiting in kern river, stop by there!

Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum.... The pizza here is amazing. This opinion may or may not be due to the fact that I almost always come here ravenous after a hike up in Kern Canyon. Regardless, the pizza is good and the salad bar is well stocked. Plus it's got a nice small town feel, which is exactly what you're looking for in Kernville. TIP: Don't drink the Coors (I am an adoptee of the great state of Colorado so, yes, I prefer Coors over Bud). The locals don't drink Coors so that keg has probably been sitting back there for years.

First and foremost: I abhor pizza. I know, I know, what a weirdo, right? BUT.... Pizza Barn is amazing! I can't get enough of it. Before I moved here, I would visit my family, who lived in Kernville at the time. The first time we went to Pizza Barn I was whining, but figured I would have pasta or a sandwich. When I saw the ingredients that where available, and my son told me that they did a wonderful thin, crispy crust, I decided to try it. Man, am I glad I did! The very next weekend I wanted to go back again. We just ate there again on Saturday. The staff is friendly, and since we are regulars, they know our tastes and if we sometimes order something a little different then our 'usual' they will come check to make sure that our order wasn't messed up. I love sitting on the patio, great views. Brad, the owner, is always friendly. We even have it delivered sometimes, and the quality is the same.

Great local place on our stay in Kernville - dough is fluffy and flavorful. Great fresh and great value $20 for 2 with a salad. mmmm that salad bar was fantastic! The place was full of locals on Easter Sunday - great to see and a good sign that the food is good! We sat outside in the sun on the wraparound deck - and brought our 2 little dogs. There was a nice water bowl for them to drink from in the heat. There is also a arcade room for kids, and a make your own pottery store on weekends.

  • Shari P.

We had two pizzas delivered to a nearby campground. Service was fast, prices affordable and the delivery guy was very polite. Our pizzas were yummy - better than I expected. If in the area, I would order again. Those are the positives. My negatives probably have more to do with my picky nature but they are negatives nonetheless. First, a specialized pizza on the menu that I wanted was no longer on the menu. Second, the first two choices of desserts that I wanted from the menu are no longer on the menu. Third, we got two cookies. One was fresh and the other was stale. Just my luck, I picked up the stale one. I would still recommend the pizza. Important: They don't accept credit cards.

Small town feel, great salad bar, cold beer and perfect pizza. It is one of the best places to go while on the Kern River. When I go back I will defintely spend my money here.

The atmosphere is rowdy. In the back are video games, very old looking video games. The Angels were playing the Yankees on the big screen. Big burly tattooed men were drinking pitchers of beer. Little kids were running around with cups getting refills. The little salad bar was teeming with people. Finally, we got our pizza & potatos wedges. They were both fantastic. I agree with Marcy.

Great pizza at the Pizza Barn, much better than expected! We had the chicken vegetable (white) pizza, which I can heartily recommend. A great choice for a pizza after a long day on the river - or anytime!

Pizza good. Service lousy. Internet service on my order was "Oops sorry." Had to wait 35 minutes after ready time and failed to check if the xtra cheese was on it. Got home and no xtra cheese as was paid for.

They'll split a pizza for you including one of their specialty styles which we appreciated because our xL pizza had a personality disorder. All veggie on one side and all meat on the other. It was perfect for us. Their pizza hit the spot after a hot day of river rafting along the kern river. Pizza is always a nice inexpensive way to share a meal with a large group of friends and we had no complaints about the delicious pizza served at the Pizza Barn.

This place was recommended to us by one of the antique shop owners in town. It really hit the spot after an afternoon with our kids tubing and playing at the river. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, good prices, great pizza, ice cold beer... all adds up to a winner of a meal.

We were fishing on the Kern river last week when my friend said we got to try this pizza place I heard they make good pizzas, And me being very picky about what I eat and where I eat it, I started asking the locals about this place, and every person I asked recommended it very highly, hmmmmmmm !!!!!! (Just for the record) My wife is 100% Sicilian and her mother used to make all kind of Italian food, So I know the taste of REAL Italian food !!! And let me tell you that I haven't had a pizza like the one I ate there since my mother-in-law passed away 15 years ago. Your reputation is well earned. Thank you guys for such a delicious Pizza, & keep up the good work. Tony.

Dined at The Pizza Barn on Thursday, August 13th. The pizza was okay, not the best I've had, not the worst. What struck my husband and I was when the young man brought our pizza, he had a beard that was not covered or restrained. Please consider having anyone that has a beard (this was not a super short beard either) that has contact with food, use a beard restraint. I know a person may think they don't look cool with a beard restraint but patrons truly appreciate when food servers wear them. Hair Restraints 2-402.11 Effectiveness. (A) Except as provided in ¶ (B) of this section, food employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets, beard restraints, and clothing that covers body hair, that are designed and worn to effectively keep their hair from contacting exposed food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles. (B) This section does not apply to food employees such as counter staff who only serve beverages and wrapped or packaged foods, hostesses, and wait staff if they present a minimal risk of contaminating exposed food; clean equipment, utensils, and linens; and unwrapped single-service and single-use articles. I also recommend that you do a thorough cleaning of your window areas, especially the ones that are covered with blinds. Seeing dead insects along the window sill is not appetizing. The dining area should be just as clean as the kitchen. This is just a helpful review to make a more sanitary environment :)

Placed a delivery order while camping at Rivernook. The gal over the phone was super nice. We ordered a large white water and large cheese. We were surprised when our order was delivered within the time indicated. Both were hot and tasty! We will definitely order from them again!

My husband and I look forward to pizza barn pizza whenever we come to the kern. Tonight we picked up our pizza 20 minutes after we ordered it - very fast service. We walked in and someone said "to go order for Kim" - talk about perfect timing! Took our pizza and garlic cheese bread back to our house and got started. We got a medium half and half - half meat lovers for him and half zesty chicken veggie for me. Unsurprisingly our meal did not disappoint! Out of this world delicious pizza. Garlic cheese bread was great too. I told the woman on the phone we needed a substantial amount of ranch and she convinced me to get the 16 oz side of ranch for an extra 2 dollars. I'm glad we did because their ranch is fabulous! Like some of the best ranch I've ever had. We're gonna pick up some lettuce tomorrow so we can have a tasty salad with tasty ranch tomorrow! Total cost was about 23 bucks. Totally reasonable. We're heating up some more to eat now! Go get pizza here.

So here's the thing with the Pizza Barn...it's pretty frick'n AWSOME! I've been eating here for years, my favorite pie is the bbq chicken. It's the perfect blend of sweet and savory and the cheese is THE CHEESIEST CHEESE IN THE CHEESE RIVER VALLEY. (I'm trade marking that) my wifey digs the chicken and veggie 'cause of the fresh ingredients like artichoke hearts and avocado. Personally I like my ingredients meaty and smokey and saucy and cheesey and on a delicious crust.....just like they serve it at pizza barn. Here's a tip, sometimes they run an all you can eat lunch special (during the week) which will allow you to sample a variety of pies and chow down on the salad bar. PS Beer and a big screen + an arcade for all yer ankle bitters.

Yum!! Loved the pizza. Crust is really good. Especially appreciated after days of camping. We will definitely go back!

Ridiculously delicious pizza....It's hard to describe...but if you like your pizza with quality ingredients, fluffy and crisp crust...get it here...especially after a long weekend of camping!

The lunch special is the best value during the week in Kernville. The pizza was fresh, with pepperoni and their famous whitewater. The salad bar has fresh veges, fluffy lettuce and is really yummy. I definitely recommend the Pizza Barn!

5 stars for excellent service and great food. Camping at the airport a few miles south of town, we flew in so we don't have a car. They were happy to deliver to our campsite. Even better, when I asked if they could sell us and deliver a bag of ice (ice chest is low), she put me on hold to check with the manager, came back and told me that she'll get ice to us. The driver showed up with our pizza, drinks, and a huge box of ice (like 8-10lbs). When I saw the receipt I noticed they didn't charge for the ice! The pizza tasted great and was loaded with toppings. I will definitely be back here for pizza during future Kernville visits, even when I have access to a car.

This review is way overdue! Anyways, I went camping with my family last summer and we ate at pizza barn on our last night of camping. The pizza was good, it hit the spot after camping/cooking for 3 days. :) The important part of this review is to say how awesome the employees at Pizza Barn are. I left my purse on the restaurant patio and drove home all the way to Los Angeles only to realize I had left it when I got home the next day. Ugh! Worst feeling ever. The employees kept my purse safe and sent it back to me in the mail without a dollar missing. THANK YOU!! You guys are stars. We'll be back next time!

This was just Ok for me. Came Sunday night and it wasn't that busy when we arrived. After we ordered, about 30 firefighters arrived. The service leaves a lot to be desired. We weren't given plates. I said " Can I get a couple of plates" and the girl says " How many". Seriously, a couple = 2. The soda machine ran out of ice, there were no forks as well. The pizza took forever to get. We ordered a personal pizza with sausage and onions. Wanted mushrooms but was told they were out. Asked for pizza thin and crispy. It didn't come thin or crispy. Would have loved to get cracker crust, but that's only for large pizzas. I guess for the area its ok, but if I compare it to LA, it sucks. Oh wait, the salad bar was good.

NOW FEATURING TRI TIP SANDWICH DEAL on WEDNESDAYS! The most tender tri-tip I've ever had (even more tender then the one I cook). Drink & Chips too.

This little gem is amazing!... Wether you've been rafting, hiking, or simply enjoying the beautiful kern river scenery this place is a must! Brought my family here over the weekend and the kids said if pizza was in heaven this would be it lol... I recommend the garlic cheese bread and the Moose drool beer... Perfect for those warm river days ... Don't pass this by! :D

Pizza was very good, the sauce tasted great, small mix up on the order no big deal. Most likely my fault. The ptarmigan twists were excellent! All in all excellent pizza place!

We have been here numerous times over the past few years and it's consistently very good. Fresh ingredients for both salad bar and pizza. The staff has been consistently professional as well! We must have Pizza Barn every time we are in town

Pizza Barn is probably the best pizza place in Kern County. We live in Southern Kern and drive up that way a few times a year in order to fish. We always make time to stop at Pizza Barn. Sometimes we will drive up just to get pizza. It's totally worth it. We get a large (2 adults, 2 kids) and always take home leftovers.

My husband and I just recently moved to the Kernville area. We have been to the Pizza barn numerous times, I have absolutely no complains. Pizza is awesome especially when we are use to Chicago pizza..(that says a lot) Love the salad bar lots to choose from.. Service has always been with a smile...

It's pizza. Is it the best pizza? No. Is it a destination place for the best pizza? Only if you're delusional from too much sun while out on the river. Like I said- it's pizza. Pretty hard to ruin pizza. It's one of the simplest things to make. With that being said, the pizza was average while the staff was horrendous. Would it break your face to smile at a customer? Of the 4 people we saw working there, not one of them acted pleased to have a job. More like we were an inconvenience to them. Sorry for bothering you with wanting to throw my money at you thereby giving you a paycheck. I promise I won't ever do that again. As far as them claiming the noise level is 'average'. Whomever wrote that is clearly deaf. The noise level is WAY LOUD. Like 'CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW??!!' kinda loud. Nothing average about it. If it were average- the waiters wouldn't have to scream your name our 3-4 times before the customer finally hears it and picks up their food. *salad bar is a one time only visit- so ya better hope you get a decent size plate... which you won't, but a person can dream* Update to this review: It seems as though 'Brad' didn't appreciate my honest review of his place and chose to comment. But it wasn't a 'sorry your experience was bad, we'll try to do better' kind of comment. No. He actually took time out of his day to comment back and just call me nasty, rude names. And THIS is exactly the kind of service you'll receive here. Thank you, Brad, for proving my point! I appreciate you putting your true colors out there for Yelp readers to see. The fact you felt you had to stoop to name calling in order to, I don't know, make your restaurant look better??? That speaks VOLUMES about how you'll be treated, should you choose to dine here and not like certain things about the place. New update: Silly Brad- after over a week- he felt the need to come back in and, again, call me 'bitter' and a 'jerk'. Excellent way of running a business. Perfect example for employees and even your own kids, on how to treat customers (And he keeps assuming I'm a guy. Not that it matters what gender I am. But it makes one wonder if he'd speak to me this way if he thought I was a woman. Hmmmm.). He also assumes he knows when I was there to get a pizza. As if I sat in his restaurant and typed out my review. LOL It's kinda cute to watch. The part where he keeps saying they'll work at making customers happy is slightly confusing, seeing as how he spends his time on Yelp not making that attempt towards me at all. Never once apologizing for our experience- just nasty 3rd grader name calling. Belittling a customer cuz they wanted pleasant people working 'the one time' we were there. Pssst- Brad- we visited other places in Kernville and they got a better rating than your place cuz they were better than your place. We're gonna keep visiting other places and eating, shopping, etc. and we're gonna comment on our experiences. All over the country too! That's how Yelp works! And that's why you should never make excuses for all of your employees having a bad day- you never know when a customer will come in and write a bad review. The fact you STILL don't get this is comical. Yet sad at the same time. I look forward to another witty reply in which you call me names and never apologize or step up and offer to make our next visit (should we ever find ourselves in that town again) better than our first. Here's another tip: that's what good business owners do. They listen to criticism, apologize, and extend to the customer, a better experience the next time, should they want to come back. But not you. That'd be too much for you to do. Just keep calling me names. This has become my best Yelp review ever and your comments have been a great hit on Facebook. Not great in the 'bring more customers to your place' kinda way. Can't help you with that.

Came in and ordered a pizza with (zesty chicken) white sauce, two salads, beer, and wedges. We never received our wedges, salad we made ourselves, and pizza tasted like nothing! No flavor at all!! Told management that pizza sucked and they said, "Well you ordered it!" (Sauce tasted like nonfat milk mixed with flour) server told us to use salt and pepper! Already used salt, pepper, Parmesan, and red peppers!! STILL NO FLAVOR! Dominoes Pizza has more flavor then that!! Maybe management needs to taste it and improve on theirs!! Management was childish and not appreciative of their customers! Definitely not management material! We left and never coming back! Never got wedges either! Said, oh we forgot!!! WOW!!! Owner better nip that in bud! We lost 40.00 and only got a salad! Tacky management, poor management, bad management! No compensation at all!! Left the whole pizza w two bites taken out of it!! What a waste! Update to mr brads review!! We do not purchase meals to get "free"!! We love white sauce pizza!! Ur "ZESTY" pizza is BLAND PIZZA SAUCE MADE WITH NONFAT MILK AND FLOUR!! As u can see from my past reviews we like GOOD FOOD THAT TASTES GOOD!!! U r just a guy that can't take constructive criticism!! My husband and I eat out frequently and we rarely get bad tasting or no taste food!! We appreciate good food and good customer service! Something that Brad knows NOTHING ABOUT! Get ur head out of the clouds and maybe take criticism and see what's wrong with ur white sauce!! New update! AGAIN!! So sorry Brad that you seem to think, or ur crew is blaming us, that we just "try" out our meals!! I order white sauce pizza all the time (I gave rave reviews at The Upper Crust Pizza in Bishop and even posted a pic of the Yummie white sauce pizza I had!) white sauce thin/crispy crust pizza is my favorite!! (Domino's also makes a great thin crispy crust white sauce pizza, gave rave reviews to them also!) I'm not a newby by any means and probably 20 years older than u!! Anyway, glad u enjoy blaming others for ur bad pizza that time, and by the way, when you or ur manager stated "you ordered it" that is why we left on a sour note!! Talk about RUDE!! Did you even remember your crew never gave us our complete order?! Don't want to mention that, do you?! Anyway, the rudeness was not deserved!! And don't even think that we are coming back, word of mouth in our town spreads like wild fire. Maybe you or ur managers should have "made it right" from the beginning instead of the rude comment, "well too bad you ordered it!" when we said the pizza had no flavor. Instead we r told by the staff to add salt, pepper, red peppers, & Parmesan to make it more palatable! I even asked for garlic salt, which u had none, and got garlic powder...save your gift certificate for the next unlucky person to get your temper tantrum! Oh, by the way; there are more dissatisfied customers that I have seen. Some are recommended posts and some are in the unrecommended posts. Go figure! You had the same attitude with those past bad reviews too!! Another update to Brads new posting (3rd posting from Brad): I know you tried to make it up to us with a gift certificate, after condemning us several times on yelp & at ur place of business, that we were trying to get a free pizza when we were there. I would like to end this now, sooo.... I appreciate the new/change of response to the service/food/attitude that was given to us at ur pizza place and on yelp.

Pizza Barn offers a very satisfying, large "Whitewater Pizza", but charges more than $10.00 for a tiny personal pie with barely any toppings. Calzones, on the other hand, are generous, reasonably priced and probably more than you can finish. Their salad bar is too often messy and unappetizing and, for the price, should come with an all-you-can-eat option. Order the spaghetti only if you're accustomed to Chef Boy ar Dee. Conditionally recommended.

This is not the best pizza I've ever had.. but it is very good (butt-worthy) and without question THE best pizza in the area! Very fresh, fair prices, and they have a salad bar. Great place to go with a crowd! There's a little "arcade" room for the kids, and outdoor patio seating that you can enjoy when the weather is nice!

Down the street from our campsite at Frandy, this pizza place was our saving grace after a long ass car ride to the middle of no where (to us city folk anyway). My cousins and I went to this place two days in a row because it was damn good. We were lured in by the funny name and greeted by the nicest pizza people I've come across in a while. Prices were agreeable and there was a huge tv. First time, we got a cheese pizza and second time we got a whitewater pizza. SO GOOD. The dough was perfect, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The only "con", if you can even call it that, was that the a/c was way too cold and the arcade area was foul. Whatever, I came for the pizza and that's all I needed. If I were ever to return to the Kernville area, it would be for this pizza joint.. and the white water rafting.

Stopped in here for dinner after a long motorcycle ride. The pizza was average yet satisfying especially when coupled with a Blue Moon :) Over all nothing extraordinary.

Pizza barn has AMAZING pizza! I lived nearby and so I ate there often and with each bite I only wanted more. The service is okay but I don't care. The taste of the food makes up for it. My favorite pizza is the white water pizza and I also love their calzones!

Pizza Barn has become my benchmark for all other pizza. It's spoiled me forever. Whenever I have pizza from a new place, I ask myself: Is it as good as Pizza Barn? The answer is no. Always no. My favorite is white sauce with broccoli and chicken, but I have NEVER been disappointed with anything I've ever tasted here. The Whitewater pizza is divine. Cheese bread is fantastic. I admit I haven't tried their sandwiches or pastas, but I very much want to.

The Pizza Barn has the best pizza I've ever had! The cinnamon twists are out of this world. It is worth the drive. I especially enjoyed the great customer service and appreciated the clean game room for my daughters. The salad bar has lots of choices and is always fresh. This is my new favorite spot!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
