Visited this place a few weeks ago. I got the fish tacos. The first bite was good. Second bite the fish had no flavor and was very oily. I only finished one taco and could not eat anymore. It just grossed me out. I went in expecting some delicious tacos and definitely didn't get that. Two stars for trying.

I've been going to this place for a really long time. I don't think it was as good as it was a few years, but It's still one of my favorite Mexican food spots. I've had just about everything on the menu and every single thing is solid. My least favorite thing is probably the fish tacos which are their specialty, they can be great or soggy it varies. But I wouldn't detour anyone from ordering them. I love all their meats good asada, good chicken, love the al pastor, it's unique, kind of nutmegy taste to it. I don't order lengua or cabeza very often but i've tried both and they are good. The shrimp is wonderful. And the milanesa is great too. The only thing they don't have here is carnitas, which is slightly sucks, but i guess you can't have everything. They have three salsas to choose from: green, red, and avacado. Each one is really tasty and around the same amount of spicy. You would think they would have one that is more mild or tomato based, but I love spicy so it doesn't bother me. free roasted peppers that are just wonderful. I would recommend: Shrimp Burito: One of the best shrimp burritos I've ever had Al Pastor Torta: They put a slice of ham on their tortas, it's weird but great Carne Asada Burrito: Solid asada Al Pastor Torta: I would suggest their al pastor on anything Potato Taco: The potato is a big bland but put salsa on and it's great Chicken Tosadita: A mini tostada. The chicken is really good

Gosh! Lent season got me looking for these places now. Rolled in here on a Friday because Taconazo had a long line out the door and no parking whats so ever. La Bufadora was mad pack inside but the staff was on a roll! They sure were working hard. Placed my order of potato tacos and after grabbing my grilled, just roasted and steaming hot pepper and some salsa, my order was ready to go. My tacos were delicious and were topped with cheese, tomatoes, some lettuce and some funky white cream sauce. The tacos were a bit on the soggy side but nothing to not make me want to go back. It hit the spot on my lent, no meat Friday. I love that the Bufadora had a lent menu as well. Maybe next time I'll get myself some baja shrimp tacos or the shrimp rolled up taquitos.

I eat here just about every Wednesday, Fish Tacos are only $1.25, best price in town, fresh battered fish made to order, their chilies are off the chain, all their salsas are fresh and taste great.

This place has always been consistently delicious... The tacos de papa are my favorite!! Simple, yet delicious. The fish tacos are also amazing! They fry them on the spot, and the batter is always so crisp! The best part is that this last time I went, the place was a lot cleaner than I remember and the service was a lot better than I remember too.

Nice little whole in the wall place that serves some awesome tacos! Fish tacos were excellent, crunch & flavorful. Sopas were as equally good. I had the lenguas and it was to die for. My kids had the beef tacos and of course, they loves them too! If your coming here, be advised that they only take cash, but the store next door will let you buy stuff to get cash back. Make sure you try the fresh made roasted peppers from the salsa bar. Man! The best!

Everything is good here. Ceviche, fish tacos, sopes. I've never been disappointed. But today I just had the carne asada torta (recommended by my coworker) and it was by far the best thing I've ever eaten here. Actually best torta I've had in a long time. Get the torta! Lunch time gets super busy so call ahead.

A cramped little shop in a busy strip mall off Arrow and Irwindale. The lovely women at the cash register are always friendly. Getting your condiments can be a little tricky since they are tucked away in the corner right across from the register. There is usually always a line at lunch and you may not get a table. But with all that said is you are going to order anything you must order the fish tacos with everything. I have yet to have one that isn't burning hot when you get it...so you'll have to wait a minute to take the first bite. Oh but when you do you will be very happy. Best fish taco I've ever had!

  • Denell G.

I went here for lunch at the right time with only one person in line to order. Right after I ordered the fish tacos, I turned around and the line was to the door! I got the fish tacos since everyone on yelp was saying how good they were. I thought they were OK. It was a bit too greasy for my taste and I've had way better fish tacos. I plan to come here again but try sometimes else since the other food people were ordering looked good.

  • Kelly B.

I work near this restaurant, and in my opinion, it's the best tacos in the area. The fish tacos are amazing! I also sometimes get the carne asada tacos or the shrimp empanada which are also good, but the fish tacos are much much better. I eat here probably 3 times a month. It's a great price and I can usually order during busy lunch time and get out within 15 minutes. They also have a good fresh salsa bar with fresh cut cucumbers. I love the cucumbers! The only thing I have to complain about this place is that they don't have any fresh brewed tea, so unless I want soda I will not get a drink.... And I've tried to call an order in a few times and they put me on hold and forget. But, the quality of the tacos make up for it.

  • Emily C.

I've been addicted to this place since my coworker told me about it. Whenever any of us comes here, we bring back fish tacos for our other coworkers. Fish tacos here are the best for me. I like them more than Taco Nazo because you get a crispy batter here and the fish is usually sticking out of the tortilla. The chiles here are bomb and if you're lucky, you get the soft ones. The pastor was alright here and the carne asada was a bit dry. The potato taco is a hard taco with mashed potatoes inside. They are always quick to give you your food and it gets packed in the dining area during lunch. I always look forward to coming here and I'm pretty sure we're nursing an addiction for some people at work.

Great food not too bad pricing if you want combos or a la carte. I ordered the # 1 wich is 2 tacos any meat 7.89$ which includes a drink rice and beans on the side. Would definitely recommend to try!

Change the sign to "SOGGY $1 FISH TACO WEDNESDAYS" A client told me about this place and raved about their $1 fish tacos on Wednesdays. Wednesday came and I went. The tacos came out quick and went down slow. The first bite is a tease. Crispy. Tasty. Then the dreaded middle...mush. Absolute mush. May as well have been mashed potatoes. If you want delicious CRISPY fish tacos, go to Sena in Monrovia. Well worth the drive and few extra bucks. After all, you really do get what you pay for.

The food was ok. I should have ordered something different. The shrimp was fantastic, but the salad that they put it on was literally just iceberg lettuce. It had no flavor to it at all. They used to have mixed greens that they put the shrimp on, but not anymore. The shrimp salad does not come with salad dressing either. So here I had this tastless salad with no dressing. My co-worker and I both ordered shrimp salads and we both said the shrimp was fantastic but the lettuce was tasteless and with no dressing it was just a waste of time. I say time because the parking is horrific, and once you order there is a long wait, which I am ok with when the food is fresh. There was no where to park in front of the restaurant and people were banging into cars and it just was not good. So we parked by the Jack in the box instead and walked over to there. I am interested in trying their tostada though and something fried. They do not make grilled fish tacos. The only thing they grill is shrimp. I would go back here, just not to get a shrimp salad and to try some more things before I decide to completely not go here again...maybe shrimp tacos.

This place was nasty. I had a bean and cheese burrito. Beans taste like can beans. Tasted like the smell of dog food if you know what I mean. Literary took one bight and threw it away. I had a bite from someone's potatoes fried tacos. They were ok. Their pictures make their food look delicious. They look 10 times better then what they taste like. Even their fried taquitos were nasty. No flavor. I would never be back. Pictures do wonders here. Not my cup of tea. To each their own. They can't all be winners

  • Michelle L.

Feeling cheap on a Monday? You can get THREE potato tacos for less than $3! I was a little skeptical at first but heck, who doesn't like potatoes!? After my first bite I knew I made the right decision to carb load that evening. I was full after the order of tacos and a jamaica. I struggled to finish the crab ceviche but that was pretty good as well. This place has a special everyday! I also look forward to fish taco Wednesdays and chicken nachos Saturdays.

  • Aileen E.

Fish taco Wednesdays are no longer 99 cent tacos. They've raised their prices to $1.19 per taco. Tacos are ok, just a little too much batter for my liking. Their fish tacos just don't compare to Taco Nazo

    (3)
  • Lori C.

Wednesday $0.99 fish tacos! The flavor is amazing and it's a great deal for its quality! That's pretty much all I get from here. I've tried their carne asada tacos but they were not that special.

    (5)
  • Michael M.

For some reason was expecting more flavor...decent place but no real wow factor. Got the potato tacos along with asada tacos. Taco shells were crisp and asada meat was not marinated or seasoned...left us seeking more

  • Kelsey R.

My first time here I came in for tacos with the family. I ordered two fish tacos and one chicken. I was disappointed they didn't have carnitas. The fish was significantly better than the chicken. It wasn't that the chicken was bad, it just didn't compare the the fish. The chicken had a strong grill flavor like it was cooked on the BBQ or something. It was a little overpowering but not bad. The fish was an excellent portion, especially for the cheaper price available on Sunday's. It's only $1.19 per taco that day of the week. For only a little over a dollar you would expect a small amount of fish but it's actually a large chunk. The crispness from being fried complimented the cream and guac sauce nicely. It was loaded with cabbage, tomatoes, and cilantro. It's so full it spills all over the tray. They fry the fish when you order it so it's always piping when it gets to you. They had topping bar to complete your taco on the side like radishes, peppers, and a spicy avocado cream sauce. We now come every few Sunday's just for the fish tacos. Well worth the few minutes drive from Glendora and you can't beat the price.

  • Elizabeth V.

They've got so many things to choose from! I ordered 4 different tacos to see what I'd like the best. Potato taco- so delicious. I wasn't thrilled with the pre-made hard shell because I've had tasty hard shell tacos de papa other places. I guess I was just looking for that extra pizzaz that comes with frying your own shells. Carne asada soft taco- the meat is absolutely flavorful. I didn't get ANY fat pieces and they have a good amount of meat on that tortilla. Chicken soft taco- extremely glad this chicken comes "grilled" or cooked the way it does. There's nothing worse than ordering chicken tacos and getting that stewed chicken with juices and other things when you really want to have dry but tender diced chicken in the taco. Fish soft taco- so much flavor. Just enough batter, not over fried or over compensating with extra batter like some places. They have an epic salsa bar. Lots of salsas to chose from. Hot sauces on the side. Grilled chili. Lime. Onion. Radishes. Everything is set up really nice. I'm just sad that they are on the pricier side.

Has pretty good California Burritos and Carne Asada Fries, particularly for the limited options in LA, and they have specials on them on tues and fri as well.

NO MORE 99¢ TACOS. They are now $1.19. Logically, I know it's only 19¢ but emotionally I feel like I'm paying a whole extra dollar for some reason. Along with the price change, it seems as if the recipe changed too. I use to really like this place and refrained from yelping it to keep it all to myself. So, you can pretty much figure out what I really think about it now that I'm reviewing it. The fish tacos here use to be really good. Nice sized portion. The veggies were piled on. The roasted chile gueritos were roasted and seasoned really well. Now, it seems that they've been slacking. Slacking and raising the prices. I suppose that's just how it goes in this economy but because of this, I have to take it off my "MUST GO TO" list when I'm in the area or some surrounding city. TO ME, it is a step above Tacos Ensanada about 5 minutes north and a couple steps below Taco Nazo which is 5 minutes east.

I previously posted a 4 star rating for this La Bufadora, but something has changed since then. I got the usual nachos with carne asada recently. I noticed that the meat tasted weird and had a lot of chewy fat/tendon pieces in it. 't was a total turn off and the texture was a big put off. The al pastor didnt have the same scrumptious flavor. I think, but I am not sure, that the tortilla chips perhaps were different as well. Something was off abut them. Everything we got had a lower level of taste and quality this time. I am a very experienced home chef and can detect very subtle changes in texture and quality of ingredients. If i am not mistaken, I believe La Bufadora may be lowering the standard of their ingredients to increase profits? Sorry to say, this place may be doomed to go the way of other fabulous taco joints that mistakenly think people won't notice a change has been made with regard to cheaper ingredients. I certainly hope this is not the case.

Best shrimp tacos I've had so far. Much better than Taconazo. A little pricey but you pay for quality. Their red salsa is really good. Asada tacos are pretty good too, not the best, but good enough, especially with their guacamole salsa and red salsa. They also have those yellow peppers for free, you can get as many as you want!

Place looks very low key. The service is average. The prices are good. The food is great for the money. For the neighborhood you're doing pretty good. Beats subway...

Came for their $1 fish tacos(can't remember what day that is) they were really good. And for $1, I'm coming back.

  • Sophia K.

I love the fish tacos here. Come on Wed/Sun and it's only 99 cents!!!!! The carne asada is good too. But the fish taco is well worth it! The piece of fish is HUGE. I wasn't too fond of the sauce because it was pretty thick, but overall, the taco was legit. Pretty quick service. I want to give the burritos a try, but I'm more of a taco person. There's a tv in the back with satellite or cable. Some guy was watching soccer. At the front there's the fountain drink machine and the salsa bar. Too bad this place wasn't closer to where I live, otherwise it'd be my go-to taco joint especially on Wednesday and Sunday!

  • Evie G.

This place is off the hook! I have been a regular here for a couple months now and it is always fresh and delicious. Awesome daily specials. Yes, prices went up but the offer a full salsas bar and then some. Deep fried, seasoned chiles are so good! And great service!

    (5)
  • Jacky K C.

tip: wed and sun fish taco specials, also have other specials on other days dollar fish tacos on Wednesdays and Sundays cant be beat. very tasty, one of the better fish tacos, very crispy. cabbage and pico de gallo accompanying with the white sauce just marries together real well. many menu items warrant multiple visits. also have roasted chili's and salsas to choose from.

  • Anel F.

Great, authentic tasting Mexican food!! Fast service and reasonably priced. Check out their daily specials to experience different plates! Chicken nachos are amazing.

  • Katherine D.

I got the shrimp salad, which looked really good in the yelp pictures. It came with lettuce (lots of lettuce), avocado, cucumber, tomatoes, onion, and of course shrimp. The salad was good, but pretty pricey at $10 and you get 90% lettuce..really....I like the salsa bar and roasted chiles, but not a place I would go out of my way to visit. The salad was a bit of a ripoff...

  • Billy K.

was there last Wednesday and Sunday, and was just there last night (Wed). :) legit fish tacos with huge pieces of fish. I tried their nacho last time. Everything about it was good, except the POWDER CHEESE???!? isn't that worse than the runny fake cheese at Taco Bell? Will try their shrimp tacos next time.

  • Sheena E.

Next to Taco Nazo these are some of the best fish tacos ever! I love their salsa bar, it has pickled onions, roasted chilis, etc. So yummy and fresh!

  • Gerry S.

Was out in the area for work and I decided to yelp the closest restaurant and I was not disappointed. I ordered two fish tacos, the two tostada meal with asada and an order of chicken nachos which looked small on the menu ( I shared all this with my gf who was with me ) and everything was delicious and fresh. We weren't even able to finish the nachos because it was a lot of food and all this for less than 14$. Whenever I'm back in the area I will definitely be stopping by. The place was packed so that says something.

Food was amazing! And the service was also very good. I would definitely recommend to others. My new favorite spot for shrimp tostadas and also fish tacos. Love it here

Any fisherman will tell you that sometiems you just get lucky. I guess the same holds true for fish taco eaters when they happen to show up and find out that a place has a Wednesday special-- 99 cent fish tacos. So, of course, that's what I ordered, as did pretty much every other customer I saw while I was in there. During a busy lunch, they seem to mass produce them, but since the lines are moving they are served warm. The breading on the fish was a little chewy for my liking, but these were still pretty good. The sauce was good, but there was a scad too much. Next time I think i will ask for it on the side. The cilantro and cabbage was fresh and crispy. I was surprised there were not any limes at the salsa bar. They did have lemon wedges though. The cheap price was mitigated by the fact the place was crowded enough that you had to make room for people at the next table to get in and out (and they had to do the same for us). One pet peeve, the same person who takes your order at the counter also takes the phone orders. Once I got to the front of the line I had to stand there while she handled three phone calls. I was almost tempted to pull out my phone nad order that way.

  • Bill L.

Just picked up my dinner from here. Its not my first time here. Can't go wrong with their fish tacos on wednesdays and sundays, its only $1. I normally get the fish tacos and the shrimp burrito. The burrito is huge. Every time I order a burrito and 2 fish tacos but never finish the burrito because it so big, save it for later and ITS still good. Parking is easy. Salsa bar is always full and the best thing is, you help yourself to the roasted chili.

don't know about the food and don't care. the company I work for is in the same area and the cars parked here get peppered regularlly with flyers under our windshield wipers advertising for this restaurant. problem is most people tear them up and throw them on the ground. they peppered us about 2 weeks ago and this morning I picked up 8 whole or parts of whole flyers. I don't consider TLB a place to eat but rather monumental litterbugs. stop litteriing our area. I will never eat there.if you could give no stars that would be my rating.

Running errands and got hungry for some tacos. A quick Yelp search got us to Tacos La Bufadora. Had some tasty fish and shrimp tacos. Make sure you grab a few of their roasted peppers as well. They are free on the condiments/salsa table and they kick mucho backside! I would go again just to get some peppers. Friendly staff. Fast service. Clean restaurant. Go get some tacos!

Picked up dinner on Friday evening for me and another. The lady who takes the orders was on the phone taking a to-go order. Only one phone line for the debit machine and phone. She took my order while she was on the phone. My order: 2 shrimp tostadas 3 fish tacos 2 potato tacos (not for me, for the other) Got home received: 4 asada tacos instead of 3 fish tacos I was very sad. I'd rather wait the extra 5-10 mins of you taking my order to receive the correct order when I get home. I only come here for fish tacos or shrimp burritos. Not asada. The asada was good, but it's just not what I ordered :(

We came for the 99 cent tacos and were very satisfied. I was lucky enough to choose the ceviche mix and it was my favorite. We also ordered a cabeza and carnitas taco and it was very good too. I really liked their salsa bar and they had these cooked large yellow chilis that I adore. There is lots of good parking in shopping center and overall prices were fair.

Oh Man....this place is The Bomb!!!! The Shrimp Burritos are to die for, every single bite you get a bite with Shrimp. Not disappointing at all. The Potatoe Tacos are Awesome as well.... We will Drive from Riverside that is 45 mins out of our way just to kill that Craving for La Bufadora...

This is the place for fish tacos around this area. 99 cent deals on Sunday and Wednesday. The fish tacos are good. Great, fast, efficient service. Refillable drinks. Salsa bar with roasted peppers stocked even later at night unlike that slow pricey fish taco place in Azusa. Parking is lame because it's part of a strip mall. This place is crowded at lunchtime so go at an off hour. It's Wednesday so I'm heading over there today.

It's a "meh" for me. I know people who LOVE this place, but I've had better fish tacos. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's not 4 stars. The batter it thick. Though the tacos are big, half of the girth is batter and the other half fish. Some people don't mind... I'd prefer more fish and less batter. Just saying.

The best prices , great services . The fish tacos are a great deal for Wednesday & Sundays . I have not been disappointed by anything that I have tried from their menu and can't forget about the help your self salsa bar / roasted chili's with refills on the soda also.

The roasted peppers are amaze balls. The carne asada is the beez neez, and you really can't beat their 99 cent Fish tacos on Wednesday & Sunday. Horchatas are off the chain as well. Just go to this place if you love the mexican.

Thanks to a friends recommendation and the fact that she knows how hard it is to find a decent fish taco, she sent me to this place in the middle of nowhere So i made the drive to irwindale(i think). Located in a strip mall this place would be hard to notice if you weren't looking for it. Inside is clean, friendly and fast staff, but no AC!!!! Which is not a good idea for one of the hotter areas of the sgv. Anyways as soon as the order was placed the cook was dipping two big pieces of white fish in batter then the fryer. Now that's what I'm talking' bout. I also had a shrimp taco it had about 3 shrimp and they were good size and tender not chewy and to top it off great prices. I would definitely recommend to a friend. Great for a fast lunch.

I heart hole in the wall taco shops...especially when they have 99cent fish tacos (Wed and Sun only). I am not in the area too often, but when I do - I'm hitting this place up for sure! They stuff their fish tacos with lots of creme and other toppings...yummmmmm!

  • Sam S.

They have great tostadas. The taste is perfect. The atmosphere is not up to par hence minus 1 star. They have the best tasting yellow chiles. Price is cheap. There seafood is actually very good also. They always have specials everyday of the week, it is something different.

  • Jennifer H.

My new favorite place in Irwindale. Different specials every day of the week and insanely good potato tacos for us veggies. My coworkers all love them as well, just sad I didn't come across this place earlier!

I am hooked on their chicken tacos. I call in my order at least once a week for lunch. I have tried the fish and spicy pork but my favorite is the chicken.

What can I say. Yum, Yum, you ain't getting none from my plate. By far this is one of my favorite Mexican food hidden gems. The place from the outside looks a bit ghetto, but the food is finger licking good. The taquitos, potato tacos, tostaditas, sopes and tortas are my fave here. The rice and beans taste exactly as if they came out from my grandmas kitchen ;).

  • Lucy G.

The food at this place is gooooood!! :) From the fish tacos that are on special Wednesdays and Sundays to my personal favorite the rolled tacos with crema and guacamole. They have specials here everyday of the week. The shrimp tacos are good too. The green salsa is tangy but not too hot just the right amount of spice and the lemon red onion are BOMB on my tacos! The quality of the carne asada tacos and burritos are way better than the local taco trucks around here.

  • Adrienne D.

This place is great. Everything I've had here so far is very good: Quesadilla, taco, taquito, burrito, menudo; and they have a good selection of condiments. I'm trying to work my way through the menu but have to admit I tend to fall back on my favorite - I really love the taquitos!

THis place is pretty awesome! Fish or shrimp tacos are a must...dont forget the red sauce and the grilled chiles! small spot but worth it!

  • Hello M.

This is another close-to-work lunch spot. I'm slowly making my way through all of the eateries in this shopping center. La Bufadora was what I expected it to be: nothing special. I got three fish tacos here for lunch the other day. They were heavily battered and salted in, what my guess would be, an attempt to cover up lower quality fish. And the sauce that was on them was heavy, thick with mayo. In my experience of eating fish tacos, places slop the sauce on when the ingredients aren't the freshest. They don't let the flavors speak for themselves. Next lunch outing I don't think I'll be returning here.

Fish and potato tacos FTW! I love this place, dollar fish tacos on Wednesdays and Sundays have become a tradition at my place.

  • Michele S.

I really like this place. There food is more "casera" which is what I like for my kids. I love those yellow chile peppers. Asada is the bomb!!! Don't really care to much for there aguas frescas. There food makes up for the lack of good aguas frescas.

  • Jay R.

Tacos La Bufadora has good fish tacos and pastor. The tacos are packed with goodness and there are 3-4 different salsa. Grilled jalapeños on the side are delicious! Food is fast here which is good because there's not much room. I usually take it back to the office. Every time I bring a coworker here or get carryout for one they LOVE it.

Love this place! I've been coming here for about two years and I have never been let down on what I ordered. Salsa bar is stocked with good salsa's, pickled carrots & jalapeños and what not. Also offered roasted chili's next to the salsa bar. They have everyday specials, and good selection off drinks. Gets crowded at lunch but well worth it. My favorite things are the fish tacos and al pastor burrito. I don't go often since I don't work near there but when I'm in the area and crave tacos I go here!

  • Jalal B.

My co-worker and I stopped by last week, we thought it was fantastic. I am surprised that they put out such good food, And the prices are great! All meals were under $6 bucks and that included our drinks as well. I had a fat Burrito with the works with Asada - YUMMY! The meat was tender and tasty. No fatty or grisly pieces at all. The salsa was fantastic! The restaurant was decent and the service was FAST! Will definitely go back!

Now that I work almost around the corner from this place, I can now eat here with greater frequency. My latest epiphany about this place is that on Wednesdays, they sell their fish tacos for .99 cents, and for the record, they are pretty damn good. Small. But good. 3 seems to be the right amount for me. And considering that the fish was battered and deep fried, they were done in no time flat. I barely had time to sit at my table before they called my number. Now I just need to explore the rest of the menu to see what other things I can rave about.

Wow they make an amazing fish taco. I do like Senor Fish or Taco Nazo however Tacos La Bufadora has a bit of an edge over the two, Why because their fish is crispier and IMO seems to taste a bit better. I do like a thickly battered crust on my fish!! The fish tacos are a special on Wednesday and Sundays ;) I also really enjoy the steamed/ grilled peppers that they offer so good!!!

Strangely just a few weeks ago I was down in Mexico and saw the real "La Bufadora," which is a blowhole in Baja that spews water 100 feet in the air when a wave crashes into it. There is a huge tourist trap extending for a 1/4 mile before the Bufadora itself, which is like a gauntlet for any visitors. No, I do not need any prescription medication. Doing that walk was worse than checking my inbox after a long weekend. What does the Bufadora have to do with tacos? I have no idea. I should ask next time. After a few lunches here I can confidently say this is your standard local Mexican place. The soft tacos are probably my fave, but still nothing on even a street vendor in Encinada. Sopes were rather disappointing and greasy. At best, for cheap eats it presents a reasonable price for a quick bite. At worst, it's perhaps to be avoided like a Bufadora shwag vendor.

Mmmm... I love this place for some quick Mexican food. I normally get the Carne Asada Burrito. They have the salsa bar...I like the green salsa. They also have grilled chiles next to the salsa bar too. All the food I've tried there is pretty good. They have daily specials too. Decent prices. It gets very busy during the lunch hour.

  • Jay S.

Little Mexican spot in a city filled with Mexican spots, but they have pretty cool daily specials during the week. They also moved their 99 cent Potato taco special from one day to everyday. It's also not as greasy as most of the Mexican spots around the way.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
