What a gem! The staff is friendly and the pizza is delicious. No ridiculous upcharge for a side of ranch or marinara. Our order came out quick and the overall atmosphere the staff created was welcoming and warm. The pizza looked like it came straight out of a Ninja Turtles movie. I think I'm in love.

Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon, being new to Irvine I never realized it would be hard to find good amazing pizza. We've tried a couple "local" pizza joints in addition to the z-pizza and red brick franchises and I've been sorely disappointed every time. Gina's pizza was pretty good and we'll probably be going back, but next time I want to try the pasta because that's seems to be where it's at.

I went to this place almost every other day for 2 weeks straight during a camp at University High School this past week. The food was pretty good. I was able to get yummy pizza and bread sticks, but I couldn't help but feel a little impatient with the slow service. Perhaps it was because I was usually in a rush to get back to class, but even when I would order a slice of pizza, I would end up waiting a good 10-15 minutes...so I just have to wonder what was taking them so long... But the food is good! If time is no object, then I do suggest you come here! :)

Pretty good pizza, especially considering the other options in Irvine. Definitely solid food and a fun casual atmosphere.

Tonight decided to order pizza for delivery and looked on Yelp for a good review. I was amazed that Gina's Pizza here in Irvine was amazingly delicious! It had a lot of cheese which pizza's nowadays lack. Delivery service was quick and price for a Medium $20. Very fresh and of course the crust was delicious! I would recommend this place on a day you're craving pizza :)

Awful & Expensive. Just ordered delivery from this place for the 1st time ever. $30 for a small, cold, bad pizza and a cheap small, bad salad that was probably made yesterday... The online menu has different prices from what they actually have, there's a delivery charge, a minimum order, and of course you must tip the stoner delivery guy .......... Do yourself a favor: Go to your grocery store & buy the cheapest frozen pizza they have.....your dining experience will be about the same and you'll save $25

I go here randomly on pasta, pizza and sandwich cravings when I'm too lazy to cook or go too far away from campus, I'm willing to wait for my food for a while, and I don't mind the price. Usually go her for the pastas, my boyfriend goes for the sandwiches. always super hearty and tasty. A little oily at times, but it's olive oil..right? Their spaghetti and meatballs are good, as well as their ravioli. The garlic bread that comes with it is pretty bomb too. Only things are thats it pretty over priced for what it is, and the wait for it can be kinda ridiculous, even on not too busy days. On busy days...oh my. Surprisingly, I haven't had their pizza, maybe next time when I'm super patient. Also, I know you can have fundraisers at Gina's and even bartend at their bar. Pretty sweet deal!

Decently made pizza for mediocre prices. Nothing special to boast about and easily forgotten. I can only give it a three star since its not a spectacular deal either.

I been eatin at GIna's for a while, but never took the time to write a review for it. I thought every one knew how good Gina's is. After my very first attempt with Ameci went really bad and wrong, I thought its about tiem i tell the world how appreciative I am of Gina's. The pizzas are delish. the toppins stick together, dont fall apart. It tastes good. THey have eggplant and pesto for sauce and toppins, which is pretty neat. Their pasta's are to die for. I know it packs lot of calories, but heck somedays I just need the fresh home made pasta smothered in oliveoil and pesto and cheese. HEck with the calories. Its yummy. if you hvaent tried it - go get the spaghetti pasta with creamy pesto sauce. You will thank me. IT could come off as little on teh high end of the price range, but try the lunch specials. You cant find the lunch special on their online menu - so I have posted a photo of it! Do note that their medium pizza is 14''. So dont go on comparin GIna's medium with others. 14'' is large at most places. THe people work here are very very cool. Dont make you feel like you are takin up their time. Lot of times, the guys the counter gave the coupon discount, and gave the coupon back to me to try again next time. I thought that was cool. Its a very casual place, so dont get to be asnob with service and other stuff. Be cool and be cool about it. you will be fine there. It would have been a 4 star pizza, but havin eaten pizzas at Pizza hut and other mediocre places, I am appreciative of howGina's pizza tastes like. and i am givin 5 stars!

Having grown up on Gina's Pizza and practically solely surviving on it during my college years, I was ecstatic to be returning. I was disappointed to find the crust and sauce are distinctly different than years past. The sauce is definitely more generic and less "homemade" tasting. The crust, while still good, lacks the chewy, wood fired texture I've dreamed so many nights of. We also ordered an antipasti salad. At $10.50, this was outrageously expensive for the size and amount of meat. It didnt even have olives. Very disappointing to say the least! I'm sad to think they've lowered their standards and authentic quality but still charge higher than average prices. I guess I'll have to continue my dreams of yesteryears Gina's Pizza.... Oh how I miss you.

My dear sweet brudder knows to never leave Irvine without bringing me the deliciousness that is Gina's cuisine! Their food is that one special thing: craveable. And dangerously tasty. The pasta is always cooked to perfection, the produce always fresh and well-prepped (I'm very picky about this). Consistency is a very strong suit of theirs and I have never been disappointed in the food quality or temperature. Ever. And I am a MAJOR control freak and an avid eater-outer. Ooh and try the zucchini fritters! They are new & delectable. An excellent choice for herbivores & meat eaters alike! For the omnivores, the meatballs are homemade and killer. The Italian sub sandwich is as good as Italian subs get IMO. The patio is a really great place to catch up with a friend, have a beer & a pie and soak in the atmosphere. There's a good sun/shade ratio and lots of seating, even for a party or 6 or so. Nice ambiance with potted plants & heaters at night which is a plus. Indoors is also nice but can get a tad noisy when at capacity. The waitstaff is very nice but could use a touch of refinement (granted, they're most collegiate but still). Overall a very good & well-run establishment with excellent food!

Had some delivered for an event today at UCI Law School. As far as free, it was good, but I wouldn't make to choice to eat it on my own. Tried the pepperoni and a slice of their chicken mushroom pesto. Very usual pepperoni--nothing spectacular and the chicken was dry and the pesto was not enticing at all. The salads we had from there were good with a decent ranch dressing. Will have to try their happy hour since they seem to have a good one and this place would be probably be just fine in the free to cheep realm. Not spectacular, but fine for the average student in the area.

I wanted a good slice of pizza so I decided to give Gina's a try. I got a slice of pepperoni, calamari appetizer and I small drink, came out to be $16. The calamari was super bland and tasteless, the sauce they gave me with it was bland as well, can't mess up pepperoni right? Too much sauce, not enough pepperoni, smaller than Costco pizza...wait how much did I pay for this trash? my friends know that I don't leave food behind but I would have puked if I tried to finish this junk, not due to volume but grossness! I really give them 1.5 stars but I left my trash on the table and walked out without even realizing it until I was in the car, so extra half a star for the poor girl who had to clean my mess.

Uh, what can go wrong with a pizza called The Godfather?! Marlon Brando would be proud. I didn't like the pizza crust since I'm a fan of thin-crust pizza, but the taste is good, especially the mozzarella cheese. I was surprised the cheese they used wasn't pre-shredded. They're also very generous with their toppings. No frozen pizza experience here, where you only find two pieces of pepperoni.

Although many of Gina's items are overpriced, you can't go wrong with classic cheese pizza. I've been here five or ten times, and honestly that's all I've ever gotten. It's good, really good, and it more than satisfies my craving for Italian. No, the employees aren't the classiest or the kindest, but you barely see them. They do not ruin my dining experience when I visit Gina's. I'll continue to return here with friends - it's easy for groups, and it's quality food for an average price.

I am demoting Gina's to 2 stars for 3 reasons: 1) They recently removed the 2 items from their menu that I could actually enjoy, being lactose intolerant. They started making their aioli sauce with cream instead of mayo, and they are rolling their grilled eggplant in ricotta instead of breading it. I spoke with one of the servers for about 5 minutes trying to find something on the menu that I could eat. And while he was very knowledgeable about the menu (something not common among servers at Gina's), he was finally only able to offer me a house salad with turkey and dressing on the side. Were I asking for gluten-free or vegan options, I would be somewhat more sympathetic. But discontinuing accommodations for lactose intolerance?.. 2) They have never served me a beer that wasn't flat. I'm from Portland. I have a palate for good beer. 3) Of the last 2 take out orders I placed with friends, 1 sandwich has been missing from the order. Since we did not notice this mistake until we arrived home, Gina's was good enough to give us a credit. Unfortunately, I had to pass it on to friends who I know will be eating there again, as I will not.

First time going there. I think it is worth going. The Pizza is actually good. I would recommend that. The pizza size is actually really big, so if you are hungry then eat it.

I don't know why I don't come here more for pizza. Prices are reasonable and the ingredients are fresh and the pizza is yum-o! Then again, I don't get to eat pizza as often as I could. Something about the irony of since it's my favorite food I feel obligated to eat and try other foods. Oh the dilemma in the life of a foodie. Anyway, this is the only Gina's I've been to, even though the Laguna Beach location is very popular with some of my friends. This one nice, with lots of outside seating for Irvine's notorious nice, sunny days. Their lunch specials are perfect - pizza, drink and salad for under $8. My favorites are: Barbacoa Chicken, House Special and the Pesto pizza. Verrry good. The Barbacoa Chicken is different than your average BBQ chicken pizza, Gina's version is more zesty. I approve! My work orders catering here for lunch occasionally. They're professional and always on time. Reliable delivery service.

I was so excited that after researching soo many places I found Gina's that was willing to deliver to my boyfriend a heart shaped pizza for valentines day! We live a few hours away from eachother and I wanted to celebrate Valentines day as much as possible even though we would be apart. I ordered a Large 'god father" pizza shaped in a heart and they are accomadating to the delivery seeing as the location is NOT in the delivery boundaries. I am so excited to try it. Everyone was so helpful and I look forward to trying more of the menu. Thanks again everyone at Gina's for your help!

Carb craving hits again and this time is specific: penne, chicken, cream sauce. I've never had pizza here, but I came to try their pasta because you essentially build your own pasta. So here I go-- penne, creamy pesto, with chicken. I was kind of unimpressed when I was served. There was a lot of garlic bread, and I thought that was to coverup for some lackluster pasta. Uh, I took one bite of the garlic bread and my eyes rolled into my head. I'm not a bread person, but it was THAT good. And the pasta? Tasted amazing. Pasta cooked just right, sauce not too oily.. ahhh :)

The pizza? Good, large for the price and is not greasy like Pizza Hut. The pasta? Pretty good and good choices here. The service? Down to earth and pretty fast. The atmosphere and place? It is always pretty filled and has good business. It is close to UCI so that is good :)

After giving this place another chance, I've decided to raise my rating to 3 stars. From now on, I'm only coming here for their pizzas (and only with coupons). We chose to use a 50% off one large/extra-large with the purchase of another large/extra-large. Not exactly the greatest deal in the world, but we were both starving at the time and were craving specialty pizzas. The pizzas were pretty decent in terms of taste, quality, and amount of toppings. The Pesto Pizza was surprisingly good for something without meat, while The Godfather sufficiently satisfied the carnivore in me. But $35+ for two large pizzas (WITH a coupon!)? Lame. And while certainly meaty, The Godfather lacked a bit of flavor. So 3 stars it is.

Wow we haven't been to ginas in ages and their menu has grown. Started at the cdm ginas in the albertson plaza and loved this place. Good memories and glad to taste it hasn't changed! You must try their rasta salad with cilantro dressing. Yum! Of course, their pizza is delicious. Can't go wrong with their house special of fresh ingredients.

Interesting that I was the first customer in on a Thursday and my food was forgotten in the over. I'm all for waiting for a calzone, but I wasn't even talked to until a line cook and asked me if I wanted a salad because he forgot my calzone. That's a owner/managers responsibility, not that I would have wanted to be refunded, but when a 10 minute calzone with no one in the restaurant takes 45 minutes, some action should be taken. I did, however have a good experience while ordering with a sweet lady, who I presume was the owner/manager on duty. When I did receive my calzone it would have gotten a 4 star if delivered on time.

I could easily go the rest of my life without ever eating pizza again, which I'm sure distinguishes me from most pizzeria reviewers. That said, Gina's is one of two places that is edible within walking distance of campus, and congratulations Gina's, because you don't stop at 'edible', and you totally could have and still gotten business. It offers options for those who just like normal pizza toppings, like cheese and sausage and mushrooms. It offers options for reluctant pizza-eaters like me who like to put toppings on pizza that disguise that it is pizza, like BBQ chicken, bacon, breaded eggplant, and alfredo sauce (not together, don't worry). They also offer crushed red pepper for us spice-a-philics. And though its toppings are divergent, its adaptable crust - not thin, not thick, not too sweet, not cheesy, just the right amount of crispy - works for all of them. Everyone seems to complain that it's too expensive, which is true if you are comparing it to Dominos, which shouldn't count as food, so those people are wrong. I can eat my fill for less than $4 if I get a whole pie and share it or save some for later.

I've been going to Gina's for over 5 years now and I've always enjoyed the great pizza and customer service. The pasta salad is definitely a favorite and the pastrami sandwich is pretty darn tasty as well! I live pretty far away from the restaurant but I'll go out of my way to eat here! Thanks for the great food and hope to see you guys soon!

I've had Gina's for dinner, specifically their more specialty pizzas (the ones where the toppings are preselected). ..They were yummy! I've had their pastas and sandwiches, also. Although they were reasonably priced, I was kind of bummed that they were at best mediocre. I went here for lunch the other day, and sad to say- I was a bit disappointed. Pro: they have several lunch specials! con: their cheese pizza just wasn't very good. I even added sausages, and it didn't help much. I felt like the lack of toppings did not do enough to balance out the doughy fluffiness (and not the good kind) of the slice. From the looks of other yelpers, they seem to agree. On a side note, the yelp check-in special is expired.

  • Naveen M.

The service was terrible. I've been to many restaurants in Irvine and all I have to say is that this place has by far the worst customer service ever. the employees were horsing around inside - giving each other piggyback rides and slapping each other on their bottoms for fun. I even noticed 2 employees eating near the cash register. Employees seemed confused about the menu, couldn't make a speciality pizza. wait time for our food ended up being around 12 min for 1 med pizza to arrive on an empty Monday night. horrible staff completely unprofessional. definitely wouldn't recommend this place!

Must get the Rasta Salad with cilantro dressing! Warning the small is not small...... Get the side portion with your pasta/pizza. They have great lunch specials. Their meat sauce is on the sweet side. The meatball sandwich is yummmmm... Wonderful service! A lunchtime fav for us!

Really bad tasting veg. Pizza and veg ziti! They messed up the delivery order by putting whole toppings whereas we had requested half and half. Nevertheless, it had a distinct n putting of smell for the sauce , seasonings were lacking and the crust was very bland. Ziti with roasted veggies was soaked in sauce n looked so crappy, tasted horrible too! Their menu is on the expensive side and I am never going back!

Oh, Gina's. You are the one thing that UCI has over UCSD. Being a regular at both Irvine and SD, I'm well aware that both campus are located in cities that aren't college student friendly. Welcome, Gina's Pizza. This place has got a Mom and Pop feel (reminds me of that pizza parlor in Boy Meets World) and definitely has the great food that earned it it's "People Love Us on Yelp!" sticker that they have on their door. The pizzas here are delicious (especially the Godfather-- must have!), and I really enjoy the fact that it's a college student haven. Even all of the workers are students. I don't go to UCI myself, but I've heard that all the greeks come here, and I know that every student organization has had some fundraiser here. It's really chill and laid back here, and I can definitely imagine myself kicking back pitchers of beers and pizza here with my friends after class lets out for the day.

I'm not an avid fan of pizza--greasy dough with greasy cheese and greasy meat is not my idea of yum. Still, I crave it every once in awhile. On my lunch break I cruised over to the UCI center for lunch only to discover that most of the lunch places there have closed. My only option was Gina's. What a lucky break! I got a slice (cheese w/ meatballs) and a soda. Since they even make the slices fresh, I grabbed my soda and waited patiently at a counter. I looked around and thought it was a pretty cool lunch place. They've got a small bar, a good number of tables, ample counters for single diners and even some outside seating. They've done a good job at transforming a strip mall location into a restaurant with a nice vibe. Although I'd ordered my pizza to go, they served it on a plate. I decided not to quarrel and resumed my seat at the counter. I bit into the slices and YUM. The crust was neither paper thin nor super thick. It was crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The sauce and cheese were light--the pizza wasn't over-powered by sauce and oozing with cheese. The meatballs were nicely spiced. It was so yum, that I'm tempted to return again today. RECOMMEND

Gina's has some of the most amazing pizza I have had in Irvine! I have a feeling they are underappreciated because most people lean towards the standard types of dishes, and don't order their standout menu items. I love the Bella Portabello sandwich and the caprese focaccia sandwich. Their best pizzas are the pesto pizza, chicken barbacoa, and the original Sicilian (tomatoes, basil, and feta, and no sauce), which isn't on their menu, even though it's on the register menu. I just ate an original Sicilian on the thin multigrain crust, which is sooo flavorful and delicious and EPIC. I eat there quite frequently and never stop craving their pizza. Yum.

Well iam sad to be doing this because i love Ginas pizza ever since the first time I tried it it was love at first bite. So I moved to Utah and unfortunately there is no Ginas. I recently went to visit family and church youth group. On Sunday 10/19/14 I decided to take the youth group to eat Ginas in Irvine as we have always done that and they kept the tradition. Your food is still great but we all felt very unwanted. We were there around 8:30pm to close and when we got there we waited like 1hr for someone to acknowledge us till finally the manager came up to us and said "are you guys going to order or did you guys just come to sit down" this of course made us all mad, the manager was very disrespectful through out the night and when we confronted her about how we felt, she was even more rude. We practically were asked to leave, once they were closing, in the most rudest way possible. There are ways to let ppl know u want them to leave because ur closing than saying "you guys need to leave already because its 10 o'clock" I have never experienced this type of treatment. I just hope if we decide to go again we are not received the same way. Great food, bad service.

PROS: - Their pizza is fresh and good. - This is a common hangout spot for college students from nearby UCI for pizza and beer, even though it is a couple blocks from campus. My mentor took me here on my first week of college. CONS: - The kitchen is very busy from phone orders so it can take very long for you to get your pizza at the restaurant.

Been coming to Gina's for years and I've always loved their pizza. Unfortunately I went to the Gina's by UCI today and was disgusted by what i was served. My slice had pepperoni above the cheese (unlike Gina's) and the crust was about twice as thick as it should be. The final product looked like an amateur pizza I could make at home -- resembling stale Sbarros pizza. Not sure if this is a permanent change to their recipe or if the chef just had never made a pizza before? I wish I had saved my money and picked up a frozen pizza from the grocery store. I will NOT be returning to this Gina's location.

I'm always shocked this place isn't out of business when I drive by. The service is non-existent, and they're basically selling pizza that's just below Cosco quality for like eight dollars. And you'll still be hungry. Also I've never seen more than seven people in here at once, which is a testament to its inability.

Ok, I just had absolutely the most bizarre restaurant experience here that I've ever had, with what has to be the most obtuse restaurant employee that I have ever encountered. I called in a to go order for a salad for me and my two coworkers. I asked for a family size rasta salad and requested an addition of cold cuts to the salad (the cold cuts would cost extra). When I went to pick it up, I noticed as the cashier was bagging it that it was an individual size salad, and I told him that I had ordered a family size. It turns out that the cashier was the employee who had taken my order, and he said that he CHANGED MY ORDER to an individual size because adding cold cuts to a family size salad would have bumped up my order to $15 (as opposed to approximately $11 for the individual size), and $15 was way too expensive for a salad and he was trying to save me money. WHAT? And also, WTF? First of all, I appreciate his concern for my personal solvency but a pizzeria is not where I would typically go for financial advice. Second of all, did it not occur to him that someone who orders a family size entree might be SHARING IT WITH OTHER PEOPLE? Thirdly, since when is $15 too much to pay for a salad - particularly a family sized salad? Has homie not been in any other restaurants in the last fifteen years? I'm guessing if this guy ever wandered into a CPK he would be in for a HELLUVA shock. Don't get me wrong, I agree that any amount over $5 is too much to pay for a salad that costs 10 cents to make, but THIS IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN, MY FRIENDS. This shit ain't news. What was even weirder was that when I told him that the reason I had ordered a family size salad was because, you know, I wanted a salad that was family size, his response was just, "Oh. Sorry." He didn't offer to make me the salad I HAD ORDERED, he didn't offer any coupon for my next visit - NOTHING. I've had people get my order wrong at restaurants before, and the server ALWAYS scrambles to fix it. I've never had a wrong order and then, upon telling the server that it's not right, had the server be like, "Oops. That's too bad." WAT. And you know what really chaffs my ass? Our conscientious investment banker-in-training didn't even end up saving me any money. That's right, pals - the smaller salad that this fiscally minded little pipsqueak unilaterally decided would be a better choice for me, financially, ended up costing me MORE money. The individual salad THAT I COULDN'T SHARE was more than $11 - well over the $5 I would have paid had I split the cost of the family size with my coworkers. THANKS FOR NOTHING, GINA'S PIZZA EMPLOYEE/FINANCIAL ADVISOR. Someone needs to hear about this. I'll be submitting my report to Ben Bernanke by the end of the fiscal year.

I dig the fact that there is a pizza place right near I used to live in Arroyo Vista that serves up respectable eye-talian fare. Gina's has always had a link into the Greek Community, so there always seems to be some sort of event happening there with a good crowd and decent deals. I've always had great service there with friendly staff, and dig the outdoor patio when the weather allows. Their pasta and rasta salads always hit the spot, and they've got a host of lunch specials that fill you up for a decent price. The service is good, the barbacoa chicken pizza is unique and yummy, and the location is prime. Give it a whirl if you're on campus.

  • Peter N F.

While their pizzas are usually decent tasting, the problem here is consistency. Every pizza I order seems to have something different. Under-baked, over-baked, not enough pepperoni, too much sauce, it's always a surprise. It's never so bad I'd send it back, but I'd be more willing to overlook this if their prices were a little better, but for takeout pizza where you're never quite sure of the outcome, it's on the high side. I've had mainly good experiences with employees, but one or two bad ones have also come up. Also, the Italian sub is a decent lunch option. (Again, prepare for more like a $10 lunch) Unfortunately, the pizza options this close to campus are limited, but I'm finding more often it's worth the drive to Costa Mesa to eat-in at Doria's Haus of Pizza or Pizza D'Oro.

On a recent visit to Gina's Pizza my group ordered a large pizza with artichoke hearts, onions, feta, and mushrooms. We also shared a family salad. The pizza had a delicious crust, but otherwise the tomato sauce tasted only like tomato paste with no seasoning. The toppings were sparse. With the exception of the crust it was forgettable. "A forgettable $22.00 purchase" The family salad was better than the Olive Garden. The ranch dressing was good not too creamy. The fact that the servers are expected to "look" for the customer by calling out their name in every room is annoying.I feel sorry for the wait staff. Friendly service. Lots of parking/free parking. 3 Stars

Small and cute italian pizza joint with pretty decent food! Prices are reasonable and the pizza was pretty good! We brought our 4 and 3 year old kids here and it worked out pretty well!

It's way too loud here to eat. Too many college students hanging out. I normally do takeout. House special pizza is fabulous. Meat sauce spaghetti was awesome. Raviloi with alfredo sauce was super tasty and I normally get a half garlic cheese bread. Boyfriend loves their wings there. It's way too spicy for me. You would order by the pound. Great dinner takeout and pop in a movie at home. =)

The last time I ate here was about 6+ years ago (has it been that long since I left the gangtsa hoodz of Irvine? Man... time flies) Anywho, the last time I remember eating here a group of us were going on a deep sea fishing trip out of Newport and it was my job to pick up the food (Gina's pizza!) and lo n' behold the day of I wake up LATE! So I throw on my clothes grab my bag and rush off to pick up the pizza and barely make it to the boat on-time, it was 1 of those movie type scenes where I'm jumping on the party boat last minute - lordy haha. Anyway, I remember we devoured the pizza like savages and it was DELICIOUS. [fast forward 6 years] So I ate here this past weekend and while it was still good... it didn't solicit that same reaction of devouring it like a mad man... maybe cuz I'm older and have more "manners" lol or maybe cause I've explored all the other pizza's that So. Cali has to offer and therefore Gina's lost its luster, whatever it maybe, Gina's while good wasn't great but I think it's worthy of a 4 star.

pizza. if this is going to be in your name, please make it well. here is what you need: 1. a TYPE of pizza 2. a CONCEPT of your pizza. this is necessary for any restaurant to succeed. the pizza was mediocre. we ordered the godfather, and maybe it's because my boyfriend apparently came here with friends for college a lot, but it's not good food. the bread had a bottom that was too hard, and there was not enough meat for it to be called the godfather. if you can't live up to your title, it shouldn't be done. also, our cashier wasn't sure that it was happy our. even though it said happy hour on the menu. we ordered two pints and got two pitchers. haha that's a good mess up for us, but a mess up nonetheless. ranch is definitely watered down. and it's greasy even without all the meat that i was expecting. we also ordered the parmesan fries which were just... normal fries that were shaped in the shape we had when we had cafeteria food as a child. but they were crispier and had a better bite. nothing special at all. it's a pizza place. pizza should be QUALITY. i'm not asking for my mind to be blown away. i'm asking that it represent somewhere... have a concept. can't just take bread, tomato sauce, put stuff on and make a market out of it. make a concept. then succeed. boom. i should go to harvard. too bad i'm too old.

Paying for Gina's Rasta Salad probably seems like such a waste, especially when I can put together my own mix of tomatoes, lettuce, red onions, garbanzo beans, and rainbow rotini pasta. But their Italian dressing is so damn good! I actually request Italian and ranch dressing, and mix it together. It might sound odd and possibly gross to mix the two together, but it's actually a match made in heaven. Gina's needs to start selling their salad dressing so I can make unhealthy batches of Rasta Salad at home. I don't think ordering a whole pizza here is something I would consider, because I do think chains like BJ's and CPK actually make better pizzas at similar price points. That being said, I do like their lunch specials that offer a slice and a side salad (upgraded to a Rasta of course).

It's been said that hunger is the best sauce. Well the sauce at Gina's Pizza must have feasted before I got there. This was about as average of a pizza as I've ever had. Nothing memorable about it. It was salty but tasted like it needed salt, or something. I wouldn't go as far as saying the pizza blew but I wouldn't dare serve this to loved ones and try to pretend like I made it. The restaurant is nice and the workers are very friendly. The price was reasonable, especially considering how things tend to be overpriced in Irvine. I know people who really like GIna's so it's possible I caught it on a bad night but I'll keep looking for a pie I can steal the credit for and call my own.

Came here a few times while going to school across the street at University of Civics and Integras. Service here is meh. Food is meh. All-in-all, meh. There's nothing real spectacular about the grub here. I've tried a meatball sub here, which was meh as well. The prices are not worth the chow.

I like this place. It's got that vibe like its a family owned place even though they are a so-cal chain. Its usually packed with families or groups of friends and everyone is having a good time. I like their pizza, they do the classic meat and veggie pizza best. I get a pineapple and crispy bacon pizza occasionally but the pineapple just doesn't stand up to the flavor of the salty mozzarella. Also, fair warning the pizza is really greasy. Its authentic tho, so suck it up. I got their Parmesan chicken sandwich recently and it was really good. great flavor, moist and tender chicken chopped into cubes inside. great mozzarella. I really enjoy their garlic bread sometimes too. It depends on how they're making it that day. When they use the wheat bread and serve it up in like wedges its not good, in fact, i dislike it a lot that way, but when its the white bread/french bread and Its got the Parmesan sprinkled on top and just has that great garlic flavor, its wonderful. I tried picking it up occasionally to serve with whatever dinner i was making at home that night, but it's been pissing me off lately because i keep getting crappy wheat garlic bread so i've kinda given up.

I didn't want to go to Lee's Sandwiches so I suggested we go to Gina's instead. I've been here a couple times and had the pizza but I never tried any of their sandwiches. I was loving the sandwich I tried even more than the pizza. The pizza's good, with quality ingredients and generous toppings but I really liked the Gina's Classic Sub. Soft, tasty bread, good meats and cheeses and an Italian dressing that goes well with the sandwich. I think the next time I'm here I'll order a sandwich instead of a slice of pizza. The lunch specials offered daily (even on the weekend) are pretty convenient. The pizza and a drink special has been pretty good. And don't forget the Classic Sub plus drink special. That is what I'm getting next time.

severe roof of mouth cheese burn- good cheese detaching from the marinara sauce and pizza crust- bad we got 1/2 maui mama (aka hawaiian) and 1/2 godfather (aka meat lover). giant chunks of pineapple covered the pizza, barely signs of oozing cheese. small thin layer of cheese ended up detaching from the pizza pie. sausages were tasteless. dry and tasteless. big pie of blah. doesn't sound like a good pizza to me.

A nice little stop for lunch on a workday! The staff here is always super friendly, and the place is clean and inviting. I usually get the half salad, half sandwich combo with a drink, and in total it's around $10. Not cheap, but most of the time I have half of my half sandwich left over (so a quarter I guess...but it seems bigger than that...now I'm confused). Overall a good place for a bite!

I love Gina's pizza it's the best by far in our area. But when I ordered a pizza, Parmesan fries and wings on Sunday I was totally disappointed! 1. The pizza had hardly any pepperoni on it. 2. Along with pepperoni we ordered pineapple, we got the hard parts of the pineapple that you can't even chew, I ended up having to take it off. 3. The fries were such a small portion it was crazy. I asked for a large and it was so small (a picture is added) also they tasted like regular fries with a hint of herbs definitely not worth it. The only thing I was happy about was the wings that was about the only thing I was happy about in my whole order. I've gotten pizza from here other times and been super happy, I don't know if it was an off day or they are going down the drain but I was completely disappointed.

Calamari looked nothing like the picture :( Flavor was so-so. At least they weren't over/under-cooked. Ricotta sticks were good. Someone posted a pic of fries with cheese & pepperoni, but I was told they didn't serve that :(. Will try pizza next time...

Pizza here is good! It stays good too-I reheat leftovers in the oven and it tastes the same as it did when I ordered it. It's not your gourmet specialty pizza with all the organic and authentic toppings, but it's much better than fast food pizzas like Round Table or Domino's. I've also had their sweet potato fries, which are decent.

I went in with an open mind, didn't think it would be great or close to it, but their pizza is good. Period. Can't finger the style of this pie, but who knows and who cares Great, fresh, plenty ingredients. Full bosomed, plush. The Ham and Pineapple one was great, pesto not so much. Fresh, thick, quality ingredients and incredibly satisfying Highly recommended. Not close to my favorite pizza spots outside irvine, but I do support local businesses that do a good job eventhough its not exactly my taste or style.

Extremely disappointing pizza. One of my co-workers raved about this place, but after trying it, I will never have it again. Crust this bad is normally found at places like Domino's, not local joints. The toppings were good, but the crust was so bad that you could put prosciutto and caviar on top and it would still be a disaster. Prices are decent, so if you would otherwise starve to death, you can go here, get filled up, and not get sick.

I usually come here for large group events or meetings, so the food is always served in plentiful amounts. Beer also seems to be a necessity for many of those who come here. Honestly, I would skip the side dishes or just anything that's NOT pizza. The Godfather and Maui Mama pizzas are definitely popular choices from us students. Oh, and there are 5 different pizza sizes to choose from...it becomes a headache to decide what sizes to get especially when you're with a group...but maybe that's just me. Service is wacky here btw. It's a college infested joint so don't expect a friendly welcome or considerate customers sitting around you :/

I go here often. Possibly some of the best pizza I have had. Great pizza for a great price. The salads and cheese breads are good too. But I have not had anything else, like sandwiches from them. Recently I get the Big-A-Slice. Honestly, I don't know if it is worth the additional price, because it is much thinner than the regular slice. So you might be getting just as much, but the illusion of more. Even so, I still enjoy getting the Big-A-Slice anyways. I would recommend coming down and checking it out, you will not be disappointed.

Used to be really good and I still enjoy the pizza, but they are expensive and unorganized with delivery. The short: Online system confusion within the restaurant. Pizza delivery attempt almost an hour early while I was in class even though I called them to let them know that I would be in class and that they could not delivery before 6:30. 6 calls from delivery person while I'm in class (due to the previous attempt - thank goodness I keep my phone on silent). Spilled salad dressing inside bag. Pizza kept under heat lamp for that hour. The long: Last time, I placed a delivery order for a 6:45pm meeting at UCI. I placed the order to be delivered at 6:30pm, then called to confirm our address since their system doesn't recognize our building. The guy kept trying to get me to put in a replacement order even though I told him I had already paid, that I had a confirmation number, and that the website explicitly warned not to do so because it would create a duplicate order. He finally found the online order. Problem solved, right? Not really. I let him know that I was in class until 6:30pm in the same room as the meeting and that it would be ok for them to be late with the pizza, but not early. Note that Gina's Pizza is literally less than a mile away from our building. So of course, I get 6 calls in a row, at 5:40, during class - all in the span of 5 min. I finally think to text this guy and am told it is my delivery guy. I tell him that I cleared it with Brian (or Ryan?) and was told that it wouldn't be delivered until at least 6:30. I start getting calls again at 6:28, so I snuck out of class to get the pizza. The delivery person was really nice and apologetic, and it wasn't even his fault! When we brought the food in, we realized that 1. one of the salad dressings had spilled all over the salad containers, forks, and napkins. and 2. the pizza looked like it had been put under a heat lamp for the last hour. I'm not sure what the lesson is, but while I would eat there again, I would NOT order them for delivery again.

We purchased a Restaurants.com certificate for this place and were really hoping it would be good and maybe our next goto pizza place. The pizza was not only expensive but it was in the words of another reviewer "awful". We also had the wings which my husband stated were suspect and not even hot as advertised. We also had a mixed pasta/greens salad which sounded good in theory but left a lot to be desired. The pizza was the worst part. The crust was like a dried crouton and someone decided to add salt to it? We will not be returning to waste precious calories on this joint. My husband did enjoy his Stella while we were waiting but that just ceased to numb the pain of a bad meal. Sorry Gina's you may have a loyal following but we have had much much better.

Really good food, nice atmosphere and good service! Food - kids had penne and raviloli - both were good and the kids gobbled them up. They gave the kids a big loaf of garlic bread too. 2 milks were also included in the $4.95 kids meal price - good value! They had take home. We had a large pizza with meatballs, ricotta, portobello mushrooms, basil, and roasted garlic - absolutely delicious and well prepared! These guys don't go light on the toppings so 2 slices is enough for anybody. Service- they brought the kids pizza dough to play with - they loved it! It put everybody in a good mood for dinner as we all flipped mini pizzas for awhile. Ryan was a nice server that really took pride in the place. Bathrooms - Clean and very cool design. My daughter liked the bathroom so much, she declared we have to come back to this place! I wish we had cool pizza places like this in Michigan. I am a fan and will be back.

Gina's is probably the best pizza parlor next to UCI. They serve delicious freshly baked pizzas made to order. The dough is pretty good and the tomato sauce taste fresh. I love seeing the cheese bubble as they bring it to your table, makes my mouth water! So why didn't i give it a higher rating? Well, while i do enjoy eating here, there isn't much depth to this place. What you see is what you get sort of speak. I wish there was a WOW factor, something that draws you back to it. Don't get me wrong, its way better than Pizza and Dominoes but that's because those places suck.

Pros: Pretty satisfying pizza Cons: Long waits, spotty service I moved to Southern California a little over two years ago and like it for most reasons, but one thing California, or at least the Orange County area lacks, is variety of foods. It seems in Orange County you have four choices: In-N-Out, very expensive fancy restaurants, Asian or Natural/Vegetarian. I sometimes just need good old basic comfort food that isn't fusion of some sort or something for us meat eaters that isn't In-N-Out all the time. That's where Gina's comes into plays. Gina's is a cute restaurant tucked into a strip mall close to the UCI campus. It's pretty close to where I work, so I try to stop by sometimes for a slice of pizza. The pizza is pretty good and usually satisfying. I'd give it a four out of five. Not the best pizza I've had, but out of the choices in Orange County, it's pretty good. The service is where I drop the grade a bit. It's always a long wait and sometimes it seems as if the servers are a little out of it. If the service was better, I'd maybe bump the grade up to a 4, but a 3 isn't a bad score. A nice diversion away from the usual faire.

First of all, the PIZZA IS AMAZING....but whats even more amazing is there HAPPY HOUR! I came here on a Monday Night for their happy hour. Happy hour began at 8:30. I ORDERED: -slice of cheese pizza -6 buffalo wings -chicken strips -half sandwhich of the Chicken Parmesan (according to everyone...the Chicken Parmesan is one of the crowd favorites) MY BILL TOTAL: around $11 WHAT A DEAL RIGHT? They also have a bar inside...pitchers went for about $10? Of course I had to down a couple of beers.... Ive also heard about their AYCE pastas...pastas are guud too. A great hangout spots for all college students, close to the college campus, great service, and great food. UNTIL THEN!! ^-^

Ginas is a nice place to get together with your friends. They have a beer and wine bar and good food. I started coming here during college and still try to visit when I have an excuse to be in the area. The service is awesome, but let's get to the food and drink. there was half a pitcher left of a certain beer so he gave me that pitcher and then gave another full one after he changed the keg. And that is just one example. They have about six beers on tap that covers most preferences. The pastas, sandwiches, salads and garlic/cheese breads are pretty good. The reason i come is for the godfather pizza and the chicken wings. The godfather is pretty much a meat lovers but it special because it has meatballs and GARLIC. as for the wings, they JUST changed them up. they used to be simple, but amazing. they taste similar but now there is a bunch of spicy sauce on it. The sauce is very good, but not great. Probably too spicy for rookies.

Gina's pizza is a very tasty place to go and reasonably priced. With coupons handed out at UCI campus and found sometimes via mail advertisement, it makes it even more affordable. The price is good and service proper and friendly. It makes the eating experience here pretty cool. Also, the atmosphere is nice and tidy. In any case, for people living in front of UCI this is the place to have fund raisers, I think every club who's had one gets like 15% profit when they have Gina help them fundraise. Also, it's the closest and freshest pizzeria to UCI students, unless you consider Domino's fresh (to some that may seem fresh). Personally I like the pizza deal, it's the best with a nice $5 "dough" coupon for the medium-sized.

Came here for lunch with some coworkers and I left quite satisfied. They have quite the selection of lunch specials to fit any appetite and each comes with a fountain drinks. The service is quick and the servers are really friendly. I'd recommend going for either their pizzas or calzones as the pasta I ordered recently was a bit on the mediocre side. FYI, they also have a nice selection of craft beers on tap. Back in the good ol' college days this was a cool spot to chill and catch up with friends and it still seems to be our go to meet up spot when all the homies are back in town since it can accommodate groups nicely. Be sure to grab a seat out on the patio and enjoy that year round Southern California weather!

I called to order five extra large pizza's to feed my crew working on a job. All five pizzas were amazing and the delivery was on time and hot (about 6 min. from their location) The food was so good that a few days later I ordered the same food as my crew didn't want to do in & out. Very good pizza !!

I don't know if it's because I walked in with a group of people, but service here is terrible, or at least from what I experienced. First thing is first, check in on Yelp when you're here and you'll get a free drink. So the place is pretty dark inside, but it's kind of cute, and the outdoor seating has a nice atmosphere. I like how it's spacious inside. They have a huge menu, many things to choose from. I really enjoyed the bigga slice. Their pasta and salads are pretty good too. I recommend alfredo pasta and the caesar salad w/ chicken. It's expensive here, but portions are alright. The only thing that really made me mad was the girl at the cash register. She was mute or something. And she gave me attitude too.. like rolling her eyes at me when I asked her a question. That's pretty rude because the menu was quite big and as a first timer I need help. Oh and also, the food takes forever to come out. This place has good food but bad service, I'm still willing to give it another chance.

I stumbled upon Gina's pizza at an office lunch delivery and I was not expecting this, but this was the best pizza I've ever had. Forget all the trendy flat-crust, wood-fired, a-la-cart, assembly line pizza places. If it's honest to goodness, traditional pizza you're looking for, Gina's has it. Perfectly formed, chewy crust. Broad full spectrum of spices, the sauce and the full, fresh ingredients. The cheese so smooth and melty. All of it together, it just made my taste buds soar and my tummy so happy!

I've been living near UCI for years and this place has really come around. The craft beer selection is now amazing, and the pizza is reasonably good. Service has always been friendly and the outdoor patio area is a nice place to sit, complete with warming lamps. Print a coupon, you can usually find them online.

One of the worst experience!! This was the first time to visit here and I greatly disappointed today. There were just a few people and nobody in a line. I ordered a medium size peperoni pizza for to go and took it in about ten minutes. Until this, it's fine. When I came home, however, I realized it was not a peperoni pizza but a simple cheese one. What was worse, there was no receipt. That's why I could not return it. I could not go there again, because very busy today. But I can hardly understand why they gave me a wrong one even if there was not any other order for 'to go'. Even I gave them a tip! I payed $18 including a tip just for a medium sized 'to go' cheese pizza as a result!! This was the worst experience and I will never go there again for sure.

Great service! The owner or manager it the best person ever! She's always kind and will go out of your way for you to have a great experience! The food is just as good as the service! It always comes out hot and everything just looks so fresh. This is now the only pizza place my family will eat at. They have a large amount of beers on draft too so if your willing to try something new they have the options. Some highly suggested pizzas are the: The Godfather :which is all the meats you can think of The House Special : which is a mixture of meats and veggies to make a perfect pizza Also the cheesy bread is an amazing side. Overall this is a great Italian restaurant for casual dinning.

TLDR; Come for the beer. And when you get the drunchies, stay for the pizza Average pizza joint, but when is pizza ever not good? If anything though, I'd recommend coming here for the beer. They have a wide variety of beers on tap and is a perfect little joint for a college town. I forget exactly which beer I got, but it was one of the lighter ones that the bartender recommended to me. If anything, ask for recommendations! Big help

First time I came here was a Saturday night and I got a biggie slice...it was great. So when the wife and I had a pizza craving, we instantly thought of Gina's. We came in for lunch yesterday and the place had one other table. There was 3 almost full plates of spaghetti left out on the counter...bad sign #1. Bad sign #2: The girl behind the counter was completely zoned out. Yes, she greeted us but then she started staring off into space. We tried to order and she was just zombie mode. We saw that she was studying for something as her text book was on the counter. She apologized and said she was studying for finals. We ordered some lunch specials: a regular size and a biggie slice. Bad sign #3: The normal slice literally looked worse than a Digorno's slice...like about the quality of a frozen Red Baron and tasted worse. There was hardly any sauce or cheese and the mushrooms were still raw. The bread was thick...thicker than a pizza hut pan pizza. IT WAS GROSS. Bad sign #4: The biggie slice was dripping with oil...I get it...it's pizza...but the oil content was ridiculous. I used 2 napkins to dab the oil off. OK, this slice was average, but not worth 7.99. I was looking at the menu and the price for the specials are certainly not worth it...i think it was like 3.19 for a slice of pizza and 4.99 for the special for 1 slice and 1 drink...EH THATS NOT THAT SPECIAL. Never coming back again. I'm sorry that your a working college student. That sucks...but I had to do it and tons of other people had to do it. Not once did I have the audacity to have my textbooks on the counter at my job. Bus the tables k thanks...there was only one other group in there.

Great beer, good happy hour, decent pizza. I would say that they do not have the best pizza in OC, but their prices are good and I enjoy myself every time I go in. Good place to watch sports, especially on weeknights and most of their staff are fantastic (Scarlett, Daniel, and some of the bartenders especially). Their happy hour has great prices. The main negative is their absolutely awful wine-you can get good wine that is cheap, but like all of theirs seem like they bought them on sale from albertsons next door. Go, get some of the awesome beer, good food, and great prices.

The staff made us feel welcomed as soon as we came in. My husband and I were with our almost 2 yr old and they brought her pizza dough to keep her occupied while we waited. The service and genuine attention to detail alone would bring us back. We ordered the Godfather, on thin crust, SO YUMMY!!!!!!! Amazing pizza, 5 star staff...I'm a loyal customer after our first short visit this evening :)

I'd give this place 3.5 stars. This location gets a little crowded since its right next the UCI campus. Despite this fact, they manage to give great customer service. I love the new murals they've added. The food is great, a little pricey, but good. I've had: caprese flatbread (5/5) rasta salad (5/5) pasta salad (4/5)- too much pepperoncinis house salad (5/5) caesar salad (3/5)- need more greens minestrone(5/5)- I ALWAYS get this when I'm sick roasted seasonal veggie pizza (4/5)- White sauce could make it better alfredo pasta (4/5)- so creamy BUT it did make me sick one out of the million times I've had it My favorites though are the parmesan herb fries (YUM), cheesy garlic bread(if you are feeling like you need some fat), and the bigga slice. I am sad though that they premake the bigga slices and can't customize the sauce. My meat eating buddies love the messina fire wings. I would give it a try if I did eat meat. DONT FORGET THE CILANTRO SAUCE TO DIP YOUR FOOD IN! SERIOUSLY GOOD! Happy Hour is from 3-6p. Beer is $2.50 and wine glasses $5. Discounted appetizers. Lunch specials start at $5 Cheers.

I've been coming to Gina's for 13 years and I still love it! The new renovations look awesome- new flooring, tables, chairs, back splash, soda machine, lighting, etc. they got some new appetizers too which is awesome! Love how all the beers on tap are always rotating so there is always something new to try! I will be coming back for years to come!

Gina's has the best Pizza and Craft Beers around Irvine. You can taste the difference in whatever you order. I like how the toppings stay on the pizza when you take a bite, that tells me they make quality pizza sauce. They make their own dough and it's full of flavor. Their spicy pepperoni and mozzarella are delicious. You can tell the toppings are superior ingredients. I ask for my pizzas to be thin crust and cooked well done so that it's extra crispy. That's how you eat a pie. East Coasters would love the Bigga Slice. The dough is thin crust, you can fold it in half, then eat it. The slice is easily over a foot long and is actually bigger than their individual pizza. The cheese Bigga Slice costs around $5. Such a good price for quality ingredients and the amount of food. I recommend the pepperoni and onion Bigga Slice, cooked well done of course. The Baked Spinach Ziti with their homemade Meatballs is unbelievable. Don't even try to finish it, instead, take some home for the next day. It will taste good either cold or re-heated. Their sandwich bread comes from OC Bakery! So it's the best bread around. Choose from their selection of sandwiches or custom make your own. They spin their own lettuce, so the salads are fresh. Add avocado! Soups and appetizers are good as well. They have whole grain or gluten free options for pizza dough. Oh and how did I forget to mention that they have 16 Craft Beers on Tap! They still have the common domestic/imported beers in bottles and cans. Bartenders are very knowledgeable about their selection. They have booths/tables for families, barstools and two big screens in the bar area, and a big patio area with heaters. BTW - Sometimes it can be confusing for newcomers how to order, either order at the front counter where the registers are located and pick your own seat. Or ask for table service and pick your own seat. If you sit in the bar area, the bartenders can take your order there. In closing, I would rate Gina's food 4 stars. But because of the beer selection and fun atmosphere, I give it 5 stars overall. Cheers! Bar-Fly

Love their cilantro dressing. Always a good experience when we dine here. Kids like their pizza, and I enjoy their Rasta Salad with chicken. Just wish the serving bowl for the salad was a little bigger, so I didn't make such a mess trying to toss the salad.

This was quite possibly the best pizza I had outside of New York City. Their biggie slice is bomb and they are really receptive to making a pizza any way you want. They'll thicken it up or thin it out. Creative topping combinations. I ordered a super thin chicken Parmesan type pizza with ham and it was ridiculous. The beer selection is the best in town. And I'm not sure about all the haters who troll on yelp, but the service was even better than the food.

Some of my favorite pizza in Orange County. This Gina's location is nice & relaxing in a quiet shopping center of Irvine near UCI. Their pizza's are quite consistent, and I usually order a large and split it between 2 different styles of their specialties. Maui Mamma is hands down the best Hawaiian style pizza I've ever had & I usually find hawaiian style absolutely terrible. But for some reason their sauce & toppings create a nice balance of flavor. Godfathers is a fantastic meat lovers style pizza that is spicy & delicious. The italian sausage is a delight. BBQ chicken has a wonderful tangy bbq flavor & meaty pieces of chicken. So GOOD! If you're eating there, the beer selection is adequate as they offer a few more beers than your typical pizza parlor, nothing spectacular, but still above average. Their service is a bit spotty though, at times its been perfect, and other times, they've been completely inattentive. Pricing is a bit on the high side, but not overpriced. You get what you pay for. Quality pizza. And be wary as you order menu items that arent pizza or cheesy garlic bread. The spaghetti is average, and their linguine with clam sauce was so bad that I'm happy to see that its no longer on the menu. Aside from all that, go here, have some pizza. You'll like it.

Never been impressed with Gina's food and unfortunately they have popped up in many places ,One of them being near my home. Can't really understand how these establishments make it with average food and high prices. I guess there is a market for anything

Food is ok.. service sucks .... I was soo hungry when I went here I thought anything probably would've tasted good. I ordered salad cheesy garlicky bread and spaghetti and meatballs. The salad came out right away. ... After a while nothing else we ordered came out.. and they were bringing food to other tables. The confused manager came out and looked at my receipt and and still asked me if I wanted the food? .. of course I did.?!? Nobody in this place seems to know what was going on... except for one guy in the kitchen actually making the food. I gave it 2 stars because the food actually was kind ok good. If you choose to eat here. You take your chances with the confused college kids that don't know what is going on.. or the idiots at the bar screaming at the tiny television by the bar... your choice. : /

The pizza that I ordered came really late. But when I got to the pizza place everybody, specially the Manager really were very nice and they make sure that wont happen again. Their Pizza is really the greatest pizza ever in taste. Their place is always clean and the Gina's team are always friendly and forthcoming. I highly recommend Gina's Pizza to every one.

You must get a thin crust sausage and pineapple pizza. This combination has never failed me. The staff are awesome here.

Waited more than 30 mins for the order! Horrible service. I had to ask to check up on the order twice before any real update. Only come here because it's close to campus but I was really disappointed with how the service was. They didn't even apologize for taking so long. I've never had such a horrible experience here.

I avoided Gina's for a long time because I mistakenly assumed it wouldn't be very good, but man was I wrong. "Bigga Slice"--This takes after a New York style thin crust pizza, but as the name implies, is freakin' huge. It's a pretty good deal because you get a huge filling slice and a drink for around $7. The crust is crispy on the bottom and there is ample amount of cheese and sauce. Regular slice--I really like Gina's regular slices, even more than I like the bigga slice. I the pizza dough and crust, especially. From being reheated in their oven, the crust has a great crunch on the bottom while the rest of the crust has a yeasty, soft interior. There is also copious amounts of a mild mozzarella. The sauce is flavorful and not too sweet, helping to cut through the richness of the cheese. These slices are also pretty cheap, you can get two for around $7.50 (without drink) and definitely be filled. One time, I got the eggplant parmesan sandwich, but I wasn't blown away by it. Better to stick with the pizza, I think. Gina's also works extremely closely with UCI organizations and will work with whatever budget you have. Their customer service is impeccable. The restaurant space itself is pretty loud, but has a good casualness to it and even features a bar area with TV. I'm a newly minted Gina's regular, for sure.

I have been going to Gina 's for years. I have been to the Newport and CDM, and have always been impressed. Unfortunately this location let me down. For starters the staff was very immature. They were busy playing around with each other than assisting the people in line to order. Finally when I did order and receive my food, well it was just ok. It felt that the cooks didn't really care, and just threw it together. I mean, the presentation was very sad. Lacked sauce and the crust was burnt. Won't be coming back.

The food is 5 Star, the service is 2 stars. The staff is friendly and helpful when they can be found. It's hit or miss when calling in your order for delivery... I just recommend ordering while actually at Gina's. They have a decent happy hour and a nice beer selection. The Ricotta cheese sticks are delicious as is the famed "Biggaslice."

One of the worst service experiences you get. They don't know if they are a takeout pizza parlor, bar, college frat house or fine dining, family casual restaurant. Food is ok, but make sure explain real clearly to your server , if they remember, to stop by your table to listen and confirm your order and any requests. I have eaten here several times both during the we're and weekends, with kids and without. I am amazed they are still in business. Service experience sucks but the easy parking, stricklands and out door seating is appealing. The thin crust pizza is good The pasta salad as well! They need Robert Irvine and Restaurant stakeout.

OK so it is embarrassing how many times I have gone to Gina's in the last few weeks! There food is so good. There chicken parmesan sandwich is amazing!!! This is not the only good thing on the menu, pizza, calzones, pasta. There hasn't been a thing I've tried that I have not liked! The only thing is the service is a little inconsistent. At times the service it fantastic! At other times it can be so so. It is not the worst, but there have been some inconvenient delays in getting my food, or the delivery service. But overall the food is so good is makes up for it. I would highly recommend it!

I am surprised by how few reviews this place has! They advertise so much at UCI. I'm sure most students have tried this place at least once already. Or not. I'm a 4th year and I just recently had Gina's for the first time (fail)! Not sure if I was just starving out of my mind or if the food there was actually as tasty as I remember it to be. But yum! Loved their margarita pizza. Wonderfully moist mozzarella cheese with fresh diced tomatoes and flavorful basil (it's basically caprese lol) on a delicious thick chewy crust. I was in pizza heaven. I also had a slice of one of their other pizzas (I forgot what it was called) that had pepperoni and Italian sausage on it and I wasn't as impressed. It was just a little too salty for my taste and I didn't think it could compare to the margarita pizza I just had before at all. I'm sure most carnivores would absolutely love it but to me it was just eh. Pizzas (and a few other menu items) are made to order so it could take a while for it to come out. Place seems like a nice cozy place to hang out with some friends for a pizza night. Ahh I wish I came to try this place out earlier in my college career :C

I usually get their Hawaiian pizza which is great. The pizzas are complemented by the great dinner salad. However, lately, we have branched out to trying the Meatball sandwich and Eggplant Parmesan. The sandwich is unbelievable! One of the best Meatball sandwiches that I have ever had. The eggplant parm is probably what I will get the next time I go because, out of a great selection, it is the one thing that I would regret the most if I missed out on it.

It's been a long time since I've had pizza. Ordered the hawaiian pizza gluten-free, and the house special pizza gluten-free to go. The GF crust only comes in the medium size. So $18.99 x 2 + tax = $41.02 ! The pizzas were good. They make it fresh, and the GF crust takes a bit longer to make. I prefer the house special over the hawaiian. And since it's 2 medium size pizzas, it should be good for Honeybuns and me. However we both felt like we didn't eat anything! We each ended up eating 6 slices each! And had a homemade salad! Only 4 slices left for our breakfast ( I was hoping to have at least 8 slices leftover) It's 3.5 stars (the price was a bit of a sticker shock).

i usually came here whenever i craved pizza when i went to UCI. Gina's pizza did lots of fundraiser with several organizations on campus. Gina's pizza is VERY GOOD. VERY CHEESY. but it is on the more of expensive side. but i think its worth it. best pizza around irvine. they do not skimp out on toppings either! i also tried their mozzarella sticks. and it was CHHHHHHESSSSSY GOOD! so glad this establishment is so close to UCI and made a huge impact in my college life!

It was after finals so I decided, heck I'm gon' dine gloriously! And surely, I dined GLORIOUSLY at Gina's! Me and my friends decided to come here for the first time this Thursday. My favorite was the chicken, feta cheese & garlic calzone. My god, it was DIVIIIIIINEEEEE~~~~~~~~~~! 5/5! Omgurd! I could eat these forever! I also tried the herb + parmesan fries/sweet potato fries and it was DELICIOUS! 5/5! I highly recommend the calzone and herb + parmesan fries/sweet potato fries! Oddly enough, I didn't like Gina's pizzas and I tried 3 of them. 2/5. I thought they were just okay. I prefer thin crusts with lots of toppings. If you like thin crusts, I suggest you drive 3 minutes down the road to Blaze pizza.

I absolutely love this place. I'm pretty cheap and don't like to spend money, especially on pizza because Costco sells pizza for 8.99. However, this place is worth the money. Honestly, everytime I pay the bill...I find myself wondering why I spent $18 bucks on a pizza. Then...I eat some of it and remember why I don't mind feeling poor for a moment. I went to the Gina's Pizza place in Costa Mesa because they offered me a coupon via the Entertainment Coupon Book, but I realized that not all Gina's are as delicious as this location! Thus, I don't plan to go back to Costa Mesa again and will return to this location. I do wish there were more promotions and coupons for this Gina's, if there was, then I would be here all the time! But I guess you don't need to discount if you have a quality product. Anyways, I would recommend this place! The pizza I usually get is the meat lovers one or the bianca. I recently started customizing my own pizza with the max number of toppings and found that to be the best resolution. Check out Ginas! It is worth the extra money!

First time here, I was in the area and we wanted to eat something like this. We had the Rasta salad with cilantro and balsamic dressing. It has pasta and salad plus the works! It was so good. We also had a Hawaiian pizza, very good flavor and crunchy, very fresh. It was a friendly atmosphere and the lady that took our order was very helpful.

We used to come to Gina's regularly and then for some reason we haven't been here for almost a year. I am so glad that we rediscovered Gina's tonight. We pulled into the Albertson's plaza across from UCI at about 9 on a sunday night in search of hangover food. We parked easily and as soon as we got out the car the smell of pizza hit us. We walked into Gina's in pajamas with hair a total mess and were greeted with smiles. Both my boyfriend and I ordered the special Biggaslice; mushrooms, fresh basil, tomato, and chunks of feta cheese. The slice came out and I was thrilled just at the sight of it. the biggaslice is about the size of three pieces of pizza on a paper thin crust. At first bite I was in love! All the gooey cheese and basil and so many tomatoes, I was in pizza lovers heaven. The ingredients used are fresh and the slice was cooked to perfection. The crust is exactly what a crust should be, flakey and thin and wonderful. Everything tasted amazing. I will be making this my regular pizza place from now on. The biggaslice is defiantly the way to go! I also love the atmosphere here. When you walk in the place just looks and feels how you would imagine a pizza place being. Lots of seating so great for groups and lots and lots of parking.

Meh. Came with some girlfriends for dinner before class. I got the Bigga Slice Special for $6.99 + a drink and sweet potato fries and my total came out to $15.62. Pricey for some pizza. The cashier that rang me up asked if I wanted ketchup or ranch with the fries and I responded both, please. He replied "sure." I found out after that he charged me $0.49 for the ranch, if he offered it, he should have disclosed to me that it was an additional charge. My pizza slice was bigger than my head - bang for your buck with the bigga slice, but the fries were overpriced and a disappointment. I don't think I'd be back because the pizza wasn't spectacular and the prices are just too steep. There is plenty of other stuff around you can eat that is cheaper and healthier.

Their phone ordering and delivery service is a joke. The person on the phone didn't know that there was an offer for free delivery, despite it having been ongoing for a week. Nor could she hear me well (or I her) over the din of the restaurant in the background. Furthermore, they seem to arbitrarily change their delivery minimums depending on their mood. 5 days ago I ordered delivery well under $20. Tonight they try to tell me that they have a $20 minimum. Some time ago it was $14 when I tried to order delivery. If these minimums do exist and aren't made up arbitrarily each evening, they need to post them online so it is common knowledge.

For $30, we expected a lot more from a cheese pizza. The order took close to an hour to be delivered, appeared to have been left sitting out, and tasted like it. Last time we went in and ordered, waited 40 minutes, only to find out the order had been given away to another customer (probably one of the cashier's friends) and we had to wait for it to be remade.

This place is amazing. friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, speedy service, and of course mouthwatering pizza. My favorite is the house special. but the pepperoni is pretty good too. I always take my friends/guests there for lunch/dinner and everyone has loved it so far. Hope they keep up the good service.

This place has always been great but has somehow really managed to elevate even further since my last visit maybe 6 months ago. I had the spinach ziti and a chicken pesto sandwich and they were both impeccable. Everyone was super welcoming especially rudy. Very very happy with my experience here and will be stopping by more often.

I've come here on occasion during my time at UCI, and I've always left feeling adequately happy. No disappointments, but nothing amazing. 3.5 I'm a little foggy on the textures here, but the flavors do stand out such that it was better than what I had up to my time in Irvine. No doubt a little more expensive, but I remember the ingredients here being of higher quality with better execution such that you really do taste the herbs & tomatoes in the marinara, richness of the cheese, and solidity in the crust. Service was consistently slow though; I'd always have enough time to go to stricklands and finish an ice cream then come back to wait a at least seven more minutes for my pizza to be ready (for takeout.) If you need a pizza fix and you want something a little rustic with quality ingredients, this is definitely one you want to visit because I have no other idea where in Irvine you'd get good pizza.

Gina's Pizza, ah this is the pizza that I can say beats the other local franchise pizza joints. Freshness and quality starts here my friends. --WHAT SHOULD I ORDER-- 1) If you are a meat fan, get The Godfather, this is a meat-lovers dream as it is topped with 3-4 meats. 2) For vegetarians, I get the Garden Pesto, but I will say this. If you are eating pizza, please eat something else with it besides mushrooms and garlic. It is a real JOY to be hanging out with you after the meal. --HOW IS THE SERVICE-- Overall, the service is good. Waiter service and then food arrives at the table within 20 minutes. --WHAT IS THE PRICE-- Expect each person to pay about 15$ - 22$ at the end of the bill. Source: I been here about 3-5 times since 2012.

This place has been here for awhile, and again we always prefer to patronize non-corporate restaurants when we can. Would love to rate this higher and come here more often, but the food is just OK. Seating is limited and they don't get cleaned fast enough for the size of this place.

    (3)
  • Danielle K.

The food was alright, but the service was bad. Ordered a specific pizza and was brought out a house special instead. Not a big deal, but I stopped a girl walking by and let her know we had gotten the wrong pizza and was confused and asked for the correct one. She looked annoyed the second I even flagged her down. She didn't say one word and walked away before I finished talking. I work in a restaurant, if my customers don't like what they are eating or got the wrong item, a simple "Im sorry, let me fix that!" goes a long way. Just got dirty looks for the rest of our meal. Not worth my drive or money, don't waste your time.

I'm giving five stars for their customer service. I've being frequenting Gina's since 2004. First as a college student at UCI now as a parent. The most recent time we came with our kids and they couldn't have been more child friendly. The older woman working at the time anticipated every request I was about to make. She was literally thee sweetest person ever! From welcoming us with children's menus and complimentary drinks for the kids to handing each of them their own crayons and pizza dough to play with at the table. I didn't even know they did that! Our kids were totally occupied which allowed us to have a more relaxing meal. She attended to us the whole time asking us if we needed anything and how our food was. Some suggestions for what to order: I prefer to order their pizza by the slice for some reason it tastes better to me (more crispy maybe?? if you like crispy), the cheese sticks, and the rasta salad with cilantro dressing. Definitely my favorite pizza joint in the area.

My family and I barely eat pizza, but when we do, we ALWAYS get Gina's. Usually it's the lazy days when we wake up a little too late on the weekends and nobody's in the mood to get dressed and actually go out to eat. That's when going to Gina's for pickup comes in. Their pizza is good. A little more expensive than your typical pizza joints, but I think the quality of the ingredients makes up for it. I love their marguerita pizza. Absolutely heavenly! Also like their house special and their hawaiian.

Based on one experience, delivery. I think we're mostly disappointed because we scouted Yelp for some good local pizza. The pizza and wings we ordered were cold and not all that good. Maybe we were the last stop on the route. We'll go in and try it fresh sometime. 1 star for food. 1 star because their customer service was good.

Finally found a pizza joint that serves the big or should I say, Bigga slices of pizza. Tried the BBQ Chicken pizza and was not impressed. It lacked the main ingredient, BBQ sauce. That was my first experience. The location is very close to UCI so this place will get packed on the weekends. Another time I tried the Bigga Sice special which had onions, red peppers, pepperoni & mozzarella cheese for $6.99 oppose to the regular $4.99 Bigga Slice with just cheese. I liked the pizza much better this time. :)

This is my second favorite Gina's location with CDM being my first. This location is a lot larger with more outdoor seating because it's on the UCI Campus. The pizza is consistently good and the ranch is perfection. If you're a ranch connoisseur you have to try the ranch at Gina's.

The taste of everything is average, not bad and not great. I gave them two stars because they have messed up my Chicken Ceaser Salad order for the last 10 Years. In college I refused to come back after they made me wait 45 minutes for the salad. Ended up coming back again recently, asked for chicken with the salad and dressing on the side. First the salad came dressed with no chicken. So had to send it back, brought it back but no chicken still. Asked for side of chicken, finally after two tries got it right. Also, Pizza is too doughy in my opinion. Needs more cheese/toppings. For the price I think they can afford to go a little heavy handed on those things.

This is a favorite place for my son and his friends who are in college. Every time I visit, I must have Gina's once while I'm in the area. Besides excellent service and pizza, the patio is really nice and big. It is big enough that a lot of people can be there without intruding on each other. The pizza is not too thick or thin but just right. I can't wait for my next trip to Cali!

Great dinner place for UCI students. Their food always tastes great: their specialty is pizza, but even their pastas can satisfy a craving perfectly fine. Prices are a bit higher than other restaurants nearby, but not unreasonable, especially for Italian style food.

I have been a big fan of their amazing & delicious pizzas....recently tried their pasta (cheese ravioli)...truly mind blowing stuff !!! .....Now I am always in doubt...should I order just pizza or just pasta...Well why not both!!

  • Amy G.

I usually don't enjoy thicker crusts as much as thin crusts, but Gina's pizza is definitely an exception! The pizzas are so flavorful and the toppings are fresh. The location is really convenient for students in the area, though I have to admit the prices are a bit higher than other pizza places. The quality of the pizza makes up for it though.

Can't say enough good things about this place!! I've ordered almost everything on the menu and never once had a bad meal. Better than expected in every way from the ordering process to the professional and courteous delivery drivers that all speak perfect english. You've earned a customer for life!!

I only come here because it's a tradition for my sorority family line. I honestly never really crave or really feel like "damn I want Gina's Pizza today!" but whenever I come here, it's not like it's bad food. I just think it's a little pricy for what you get and it's just your regular pizza joint. Their menu is kind of confusing and doesn't list the prices of things like drinks or pizza by the slice (which they do offer even though it's only on the lunch menu). The garlic cheesy bread is really good and fairly reasonable and slices are a couple dollars depending on how many toppings you get. I don't think a lot of the bigger menu items like the pastas are really worth it though.

Great pizza, beer, and service! Gina's has become one of our strong favorites in Irvine. We love it so much that we had our wedding rehearsal dinner here, and they took great care of our party. Also, my gluten-free friend speaks highly of the GF crust. They also have great salads. Our favorite pizza is the Godfather -- highly recommend it to you meat-lovers, but for those who are veggies, the Roasted Seasonal Veggie pizza is delicious!

Its been a while since I was there, but this place was awful. It was about a year ago. The pizza was sub-par at best but the experience is what took it from 2 stars to one. I was with a male friend. We walked in at the same time, and although our orders were paid for separately, we were clearly together. After that we went and sat down and waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. After something like 20 minutes, my food came. The place was not busy at all. There might have been two or three other tables including a party of about eight women just beginning to set up for some sort of baby shower. They were not under-staffed. You'd have to have one guy running the whole place to excuse the slowness of the service. When they brought my food out, he informed me they'd forgotten to put the pepperoni on my pizza and it was cheese instead. He said they could just throw some on there and microwave it for a minute to heat them up. That was unacceptable for me because I don't like pepperoni unless its near burnt because the taste is different. So I had to send it back. Strike two. While waiting for my order to come out for the second time, my friend's order came out. It was apparently fine aside from the fact that it was ten minutes later than my food would've been out had they gotten the order right. Finally, ten minutes later, making for a grand total of 40 minutes, I got my food, correct this time. The cheese was waxy, the pepperoni was undercooked, and there was nothing special about the crust or sauce. By the time I got it I was so angry and tired and hungry that I tore off the pepperoni and globular hard bits of congealed cheese and threw them on the pavement for the server to clean up since clearly he's not busy waiting his tables. I will never go back here. If the food had actually been good, I might have given the horrendous service another try, but it was two stars at best. If you're considering coming here, do yourself a favor and just order papajohns instead.

Very courteous service, and excellent food at a fair price! The server gave my kids some pizza dough to play with while we waited for our food, very cool! I wish they had more room to dine in, but they've done well with the space, and we'll definitely go back next time we're in the area.

I LOVE pizza. All kinds of pizza, pizza flavors on anything, love it all. I didn't know what to expect from Gina's. Yesterday, I had the margarita pizza with pepperoni and it was DELICIOUS. It was perfectly baked, thick, warm..yum! One pizza slice in my opinion, is enough to serve as a meal, too. The servers seemed nice and the slices came out in good time even though they were baked to order.

I got takeout last night. Pizza was alright. I got the chicken Alfredo. Was a little on the dry side. I would have liked more sauce to it. I also tried the calamari and bad idea. Probably the worst calamari I had. It was soggy. But I wouldn't mind trying a different type of pizza here.

The bigga slice is pretty good, but what made me love this place is the rasta salad. It's delicious with Italian dressing. The pasta and garbanzo beans in it are so good

After all of these years, I can't believe that I haven't written a word on Gina's Pizza. I've been coming here for 10 years on and off. In college, I went there a lot since I had roommates and friends who worked there. I returned last week during lunch to get a slice of pizza. I have forgotten how excellent their crust is. I opted for a slice of Chicago style pizza. The crust wasn't oily. There ingredients are very high quality and the crust was crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. The Chicago style is VERY bready. The bread to sauce ratio was a bit on the smaller side, but It was so delicious, i forgive them. Service has appeared to get a little bit better, which pleased me.

Found this little spot tucked away in some strip mall. They have a nice authentic feeling decor, and the the restaurant felt clean. I like that. The thing that is most memorable was the amazing aroma that hit us when we walked in. Instantly my tummy started rumbling, and I honestly lost my train of thought for a minute. Although Chicago style is not my preferred pizza, this was delicious, and we were seriously stuffed after half a slice!

First off I think the food at this place is so overrated; however, my BF likes the food. He orders take out about once a month and every time he does it always takes double the amount of time to be delivered than originally told. When we call to inquire about our order the guys that answer the phone are too stoned to know what is going on. Every time I order something other than what my BF gets; like a salad or french fries, they always forget it ... never fails.I've had enough of this place and refuse to eat here. If my BF wants Gina's I'll starve or go out and get my own food.

Great slice of pie. Newport was crazy busy and we found lines everywhere after just arriving and wanted a quick bite. Glad we found it, huge slice of sausage and roasted red pepper and cheese bread topped off with a modelo. Clean and friendly enviro and a nice patio.

Sweet potato fries were very popular with the kids and the pizza was good too. Most importantly though, they said the pizza would be ready for pick up in 15 minutes and it was. Excellent way of taking care of your customer. We don't eat much pizza, but if we did, we'd certainly be back!

They now have an awesome beer selection and happy hour. Tons of craft brew on tap. Same great pizza and laid back atmosphere. Happy hour is I think a dollar off beer. My favorite is still the house special pizza so get one of those and a pitcher of beer on thirsty Thursdays and you're set.

  • Hanna M.

I come here for lunch once in a while since i work nearby. They have a TV PLUS BEER (ok beer on tap even though selection is few) The food is decent and priced A-OK. But I sometimes come here with a coupon! So it's not bad at all. The service is always super. Everyone is super nice and friendly. Last time i came here was for the UEFA soccer game (Barcelona vs Bayern) I had a hard time ordering because my eyes were glued to the tv screen but the guy up front was super patient and helpful and thought it was funny so he laughed at me...... I'm not a fan of the parmesan fries though. Can you guys work on that?? Everything else is good (sandwiches, pizza, appetizers, pasta, and etc) You can't go wrong with any of those.

  • Van D.

This place is yummy and cheap!! I always come here for my friend's fundraisers and when I get coupons from student coupon books. My favorites are the bbq chicken pizza and the alfredo pizza. one time my friends and I even got a whole pizza to sneak into the movies O_O' teheehee!! good times.. good times!!

Gina's brings me back to the college days! I spent a good deal of time here drinking copius amounts of beer and sharing huge pizzas with all my favorite fraternities. The food is really tasty and always made fresh. The staff is also really friendly. They are usually UCI students and are fun to hang out with as well. Pros: -Tasty Food -Pitchers are CHEAP -Staff is friendly Cons: -Food can get pretty pricey Tips: -All of the portions are so large you can pretty much share anything on the menu!

while shopping around in albertsons, i was craving some potatoes wedges and then my coworker suggested that we order pizza instead... haha, which lead us to Gina's. (for some odd reason i pronounce it as "gina" like one would say when saying vagina.) who else says it like that?!? am i the only weird one? So after a quick walk over to Gina and ordered a large pizza with half chicken bbq and half godfather. don't get me wrong, everything about the pizza was delicious and the service was amazing. but for the price we paid, i don't think it was totally worth it. the pizza came out to about 22 bucks for about 8 slices. i bet you are saying "but jeff, they use quality ingredients so that's why it costs more" fuck that shit. did you read my user name?! it states that i'm not a very picky eater. with that being said, the pizza here is very delicious, but its more on the expensive side. but i guess that's why they build a mini bar in the back... so you can try to drink yourself silly and forget about the prices. lol PS: the people working here are all laid back and chill. good shit.

Damn Gina! Why u take my money and leave me so satisfied all the time? This place is the shiz nitter nits. I've probably tried everything on the menu at this point and have no complaints. Which is rare for me, because you see that elite badge next to my name? Well, that means I'm basically a professional complainer. The staff here is super friendly. I like that they offer to split the salads into 2 separate bowls if you plan to share. They also give you the heads up that the small pizza is NOT the personal pizza, you've been warned. My personal faves include the house salad, the hawaiian pizza, the eggplant parmesan sandwich, and the cheese sticks. Delish! Had to deduct one star because I feel the prices are just a smidgen too high, just a wee bit pricey.

  • Garth R.

Had a negative experience with a waiter recently otherwise it would have been five stars. Manager is a great help and staff is usually great. I see a lot of mixed reviews for this place which really surprises me. Maybe you can't order out and get the same quality??? The Biggaslice is a Great deal and will fill you up. My favorites include the often overlooked, hot pastrami sandwich. I get "The Works" pastrami, off menu. Best hot pastrami I have ever had, do not get this to go cause the lettuce gets wilted. Other favorites include "The Godfather" pizza, the antipasto salad which is awesome but not the best deal, and the pipeing hot minestrone homemade soup, best on a cold day. Good local draft beer too.

4.5 STARS FOR PIZZA. Gina's is the restaurant I picture when I think of eating out back in college. It's the closest thing I'll ever have to my very own Max's Place like on Saved by the Bell. Except that I didn't actually "hang-out" here, just ate and left. Jumbo Cheese slices - you can't go wrong. I want to give it 5 stars but there's no option to. Does anyone remember the store FEDCO back in the 80's? Well yea, their pizza tastes like Fedco's used to. *NOSTALGIA*. *BONUS* They even have POWERADE ON TAP. Dope. (for hungover mornings, not sports!) Best when crowded or empty. Eating outside is so relaxing. Try it.

The food here is delicious, especially their new appetizers. But everything is pricey and the pizza takes forever! They seem to have a lot of fundraisers which is cool. But the last time I went, there was so much going on.. They lost my ticket & didn't make my pizza! So after the normal long wait period, I had to ask them about it. Then they figured they messed up and had to make another pizza for me "with a rush on it" which still took a little while. But they were nice enough to upgrade the size for me. So overall, not the best experience and I don't know if the food is always worth it.

  • Margaret H.

I would have given it 10 stars if I could! I have been coming here for quite awhile, and always found it to be a fun and super friendly place. The service is awesome, and the staff is super cute...there is one particular one that I feel bad that I forgot his name, but I just adore him!..He's pure entertainment, and keeps me laughing and smiling the entire time. I used to see Ginas as just a great pizza/fast food place..that is no longer the case. Gina's has now been catering our fancy events here at the plaza for the last 4-5 months. Let me tell you, this is not easy..it can be quite difficult due to our high profiie and finicky crowd that are the fussiest eaters ever. Each time I used Gina's, Ryan (the manager who is an absolute sweetheart )blew my guests away with his selection of signature entrees that are not on menu. He really goes out of his way. ...all you need to do is just tell him what your budget is, and let him take control.. Trust me, you will be so happy with the results. I'm still glowing from all the rave reviews from last nights elegant xmass party that Ryan catered, He made me look good. Thank you Ryan! We love you! So the next time you are thinking Gina's is just a fun hot spot, think again. if you have an event, no matter how big or small, let Ryan take control.

The first time I went, the cheese pizza was great. This second time, not so much. Their lunch deal is good. Cheese pizza slice, side salad (decent size too), and a drink for $6.99 I believe. My party also got some garlic cheese bread...ooo girl. That was good all by itself. Don't ruin it with the side sauce.

Located in a nice little commercial center in irvine. My wife and i really wanted pizza and wed heard good things about this place. I usually dont like places that are semi commercialized chain restaurants, but this place was pretty cool. Nice kids working there as well and place was filled with nice families. Had the veggie pizza and added pepporoni and chicken. Pizza was pretty decent, but wasnt a home run or anything. The small has 8 huge slices which was awesome. Sides were the sweet potato fries and salad. The fries were pretty good, but fries are generally good everywhere. Id go here again, but no the best ive had.

I used to eat here a lot when I lived closer to this restaurant. I still come here from time to time for good slice of the pie. What Gina's offers is excellent pizza and pasta at really good prices. Oddly enough, the pizza reminds me of Pizza Hut pizza for some reason except Ginas's tastes worlds better. While the pizza is great, Rubino's Pizza still holds the cake as the best. The crust is made thick and with a golden crisp. The sauce is savory and the choice of toppings are abundant. You can't go wrong with the Gina's House Special or the tried-and-true bbq chicken pizza. Both are good starter choices if it's your first time. Even the pasta and lasagna are good too and you get quite a bit for $7, including garlic bread. Gina's even offers other specialty items including buffalo wings and subs. Inside, the place is rather small but has a decor set up to give that Italian feel with wooden tables and pseudo crackled walls. There's a bar at the corner complete with a plasma screen to watch the game. The staff are friendly. To make up for the size inside, there is a rather large outdoor patio to gather up the party crowd for late night binge drinking and pizza hording. It's a good place to host a party or event and during school time, the UCI sports teams tend to stop by after a match throughout the year. The best part about this place is the deals that they offer. During lunch, there are 6 lunch specials/combo deals and you do get quite a lot for little change. Tuesdays it's all-you-can-eat pasta night for $20 total which includes 4 drinks and salad as well. Thursday nights seem to be the favorite as it's half-off pitcher of beers. What's up with young people and cheap beer?? sheesh...anyways, it's a steal so gather up the posse.

Just had lunch @ Gina's today.. it's not bad.. I had their pasta w/ cream of pesto and garlic bread.. feeling yucky now after 1 hr.. I think their food is too heavy for my taste. It's not fancy, but I think I can cook better pasta then that. Garlic bread is a bit chewy, and feel more like microwave bread then those crunchy ones. Service is quick but I probably would not go back for awhile. *sick*

  • Eric S.

Great, if not slightly overpriced pizza. Don't go to get just an individual slice though. Get a whole pizza. The individual slices just aren't up to the same quality as a whole. It's almost like they just left it around for awhile, so it's really stale when it reaches you. They do their best to dress it up, but I can't help but feel like I'm getting reject pizza.

  • Lynhthy N.

Oh the wonderful Monday nights after meetings for the greek system of UCI. The deals on pitchers are great on Monday nights, again, I'm not a beer drinker so I prefer their berry cider which tastes like juice and gets you feeling good. I also really like their bella linda pasta (creamy marinara with alfredo) with rainbow rotelle. A lot of the girls like the rasta salad here, which is salad and pasta salad combined. The cilantro dressing is good and so is the balsamic vinagrette

Did you know you can order your food online? order.ginaspizza.com Order it and drive over and pick it up or they can also deliver to you! There Sicilian Chicken Sandwich with melted Mozzarella & Marinara Sauce is delicious. Ask for an extra container of the Marinara sauce, they make it fresh and it's hot all day long- $7.49

One of the better non-chain pizza places i've been to. It's not pricey at all (we got 2 medium pizzas, and 2 full orders of garlic cheese bread between 6 people and we each paid around 8 bucks), and i love that you have many different options for food. I went with friends and we got the garlic cheese bread, which was pretty good. It was soft and flavorful, and went perfect with the side of marinara sauce they give you. We also ordered the Pesto pizza, which i thought lacked a little flavor but was overall not bad. If you like eggplant, mushrooms, and pesto, you'll like this pizza. We also created our own pizza and our toppings on one pizza included: roasted garlic, onions, jalapenos, and AVOCADOS. yes, I know it sounds disgusting, but it ended up being one of the best pizzas i ever had! It was full of flavor (and i'm all about flavor) and every bite was delicious. I was sad when i got full because i wanted to eat more! I will definitely go again to try more things on the menu. As for the place, it's a really chill environment, nothing fancy...feel free to talk loud and relax with a beer. Totally my type of place =)

Never again....for the pasta at least. I moved to the uci student housing and was starving on moving day. Ordered for delivery from Gina's online. The website was very convenient, and the delivery was prompt. But the pasta was gross I couldn't eat it. I threw it out ...was a total waste of $20!

The last time I ate here was 7 years ago. It wasn't that great. Thats when I was young and had immature taste buds. Today my taste buds are fat and oily. Call dominos and get the 5-5-5 deal.

With so many Pizza Hut's and Domino's around, it's nice to be able to find a local pizza place that delivers an outstanding pizza. Food - A nice pizza served here. Possibly the only knock against it is that the crust is average. Subs are good here also. Price - Moderate but very affordable. Service - Decent and helpful. Environment - Nothing special here but the outdoor seating is nice. This is a pizza that I really enjoy when I'm in the area and it's really nice to be able to just sit here with a group of friends and relax. You can't go wrong here. Suggestion - The Godfather is always a good choice but if you're in the mood for something different, get an Italian Sausage Sub. ---UPDATE 1/27 Just a little update for ya. Went back and still the some quality as it's been -- some about the crust too, just can't seem to like it much. Ok, not much of an update but figured it would be nice to say something.

I came here alot during my college days. I love all the pizzas--i even finished 1 medium alfredo pizza in ONE sitting! I think they have the best hot pastrami subs in irvine. Get the one with everything on it. The salads are good--esp with the creamy cilantro salad dressing. Pizza and beer--how can it be bad?

  • Rex V.

It's also one of the restaurants that are located across UCI campus but the crowd here ranges from families to UCI students. I always come here for the pizza and never had an interest in trying their pasta. They also have a mini bar with a TV playing the latest sports games. I've tried nearly all the pizzas they offered and my favorite yet is the bbq chicken something. It gets pretty packed at peak meal times, but there's an outdoor patio but when the weather sucks I wouldn't recommend sitting out there. It also gets pretty cramped inside so I suggest to split up big parties. The service here is great, the staff is really friendly and the food comes pretty prompt. Overall it's a pretty good pizzeria to kick back at with some beers and good food.

#1 - I really wish YELP would "update", and allow you to use 1/2-stars... #2 - with that in mind, I'd give this place 2-1/2 stars. but since i cant, it gets 2. mediocre about sums it up for me. Not horrible, but certainly not outstanding either. came with a group (12 people) from work - I didnt want to eat heavy for lunch, so some antipasto sounded in order From their menu: "large enough for two OR MORE to share", fresh salad greens, red onion, tomato, pepperocini, garbanzo beans, and mozzerella cheese. I opted for the "sicilian chicken" option, which is one of the final topping choices(others are tialian cold cuts(juliened), vegetarian, and turkey breast) ... well let me say, not so much. NO WAY the serving I received would serve TWO OR MORE people... and honestly, it was just enough for one. And call it what you want, but it was pretty much some lettuce, TWO pepperocinis(LOL), a few tomato CUBES(no slices, or wedges) some cheese, garbonzo beans, and the chicken... the amounts were dissappointing, for $9.50. Pretty much a MOUND of lettuce, with some stuff sprinkled on top.... MEH!!! "salad" or antipasto.... 2 stars. maybe 1 1/2...... kinda lame. Some others ordered the meatballs, which looked decent in size for the pair, and came in some marinara. I was able to taste one, and sadly it was kind of bland. Where's the FLAVOR? Maybe some Garlic??? again....MEH. A couple ordered some of the ravioli, it was nothing special. Frankly, it appeared like COSTCO frozen ravioli, with some sauce on it... sides/pasta - 2 1/2 stars. and of course.... PIZZA. Well, I'm from the east coast --- sooooooooo, anything with a crust thicker than 1/4 inch gets points off immediately, LOL... the crust here is jsut a little too doughy for my taste , and they dont (or didnt) really cook it long enough to brown the cheese that well either -- toppings were of decent portions, even a little generous. A little too much cheese though, and with it "un-browned" it was jsut a gooey mess atop the pizza. taste was decent though. I'd give the pizza 3 stars.

everyone goes to gina's sometime as a uci student, because everyone has fundraisers here! i recommend their calzone, which i thought was decent. didn't really like their pasta, or salad (but to be fair i don't really like salad), pizza's ok, sandwich is ok, garlic bread is ok... i really like their out door patio and the fact that they let people have fundraisers haha :)

  • Skydog C.

Pizza is really good quality ...texture and flavor of the crust is the real deal, and the other ingredients are real as well, which I appreciate. The place is nice too, decor and vibe are a perfect match for the great pizza.

This place was awesome as a student. Half-off pitchers on Thursdays quickly made it the go-to place. Plus it was stumbling distance from home and you could take some pizza with you.

  • Sean M.

Visiting here from up North. Came with my daughter. It is an average pizza, the service is a little slow but not awful. It would be sad if this was the best pizza in the area. It is kind of like Amici's only with less advertising on KNBR, no Pete the Razor shilling for this place that I know of. I kept quiet and my eyes to myself so I wouldn't be accused of being a letch since I'm 30 years older than the students.

I love Gina's! The garlic bread with cheese is quite delectable, as is the green pesto sauce. Also, they only seem to hire young, attractive people. Toned and charming boys bringing you pizza is my idea of a good time. They have heat lamps on their patio, too, so you can enjoy the outside garden/patio thingy even when it gets nippy.

Definitely one of the better pizza joints around UCI. Very friendly for small and large groups alike and a great amount of choices on the menu. It's a pizza place, so those who are lactose-intolerant like me can't enjoy it to the full, but there are a nice array of salads as well.

  • David C.

I like this place. the staff is wonderful, and the totally college oriented. thirsty thursdays are always packed. fun people. the waiter even cleared off our table cause me and a friend wanted to do a body shot of tequila off each other, and they dont serve hard liquor there (so he let me bring in hard liquor from the store across the ways). its all beer and ales.

I used to live next door to Gina's... While I consider their pizza to be nothing out of the ordinary, I must put in a good word for their The Works Supremo Pastrami sandwich, truly one of the finest sandwiches in all of Orange County. It is a toasted pastrami sub with just the right combination of lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, and mayo. DELICIOUS!

    (4)
  • Cris A.

I really like this place. The best thing there is the pesto pasta. It can get busy on certain nights (College Thursday or fundraiser events). I like that they support the UCI community. It's a great college hangout and the food is always good. Free refills on sodas.

  • Crissy Crissy B.

not bad place for lunch and dinner. as opposed to most eateries near UCI campus (bland, overpriced, shitty, inedible, etc.), this place is actually not bad. the service here isn't so great, as the customer service does tend to suck ass, and then the workers are just as slow as the foods' arrival. it's usually a hotspot from 6pm to closing being near campus since its the only thing even close to be worth eating

    (3)
  • Alex H.

I love the pizza here and it's just too bad I'm not close to it anymore otherwise it would be my go-to pizza place. I always get the Godfather. It's a meat-lovers with tons and tons of garlic. Pretty ballsy of them to do that since it might scare some people off. If you love garlic though that's the pizza to get. There's also a decent selection of beer on tap for such a small place and a tv for watching games.

    (4)
  • Joey S.

OMG.....the worst pizza, I ever taste. I was so sad coz I just spent $23.21 for this pizza. The dough was raw, the sauce was so little and I was not sure if there was cheese or not. Totally wrong pizza...sorry Gina.

My coworkers and I come here all the time for lunch. They have really good pizza and my friend swears they have some of the best lasagna around. Personally, I usually order their Fettucini Alfredo with chicken. The workers are friendly, the portions are a good size and the service is prompt. Indoor seating is kinda limited but they have a patio that can seat a nice sized group if needed.

Whenever I'm craving a good pizza, I go to Gina's. Thursday nights are the best - half price pitchers! Although I normally get pizza, I hear the salads are really good too. And the people who work there are great - really friendly and good service for the most part! The only downfall is that it closes pretty early on some nights (9:00 PM) - but I guess that's the norm in Irvine.

The best pizza I've tasted. Their pastas are very good. Heated patio is great in the evenings.

Gina's pizza serves amazing pizzas. Well, maybe not amazing but its pretty good when made right. The godfather is my favorite. The crust has good flavor and texture to it and the cheese is the bomb! I gave it a three star because last time I went, the service was below par and the messed up my pizza. I picked up the pizza and when home with it to find out that half my pizza is worng. That was annoying cause that half of the pizza sucked ass!

one of the best pizza places that i've been to in a while. the crust is nice and thick and the toppings are generous. i think thursdays are college night so beer is discounted and well worth it.

Came with high expectations and was overall satisfied but not blown away. The interior itself is very plain. The servers were friendly. There was a hockey game showing on tv so people were yelling and it was LOUD! I had to literally yell to talk to my friend across the table. We ordered the pesto pizza plus home made meatballs on it and split a garden salad . The salad was okay. The pizza was definitely different. I enjoyed the thin crust but the toppings all kinda tasted the same. I couldn't really differentiate the pesto, mushrooms, eggplant and meatballs. They kinda "morphed" with one another. Maybe that was how it was to taste? Next time I'm going to try the "Godfather" pizza being the carnivore I am!

We paid a lot for the pizzas, and they weren't anything spectacular. I was honestly a little disappointed because everyone on campus talked them up so much. I am updating my original post. Although Gina's is not the cheapest pizza deal in town, we tried them again recently because they are one of the closest pizza places. I had the Garden Pesto, and the eggplant topping was really good. I couldn't stop eating it. We are also trying out the family meal deal tonight which includes: a medium pizza, pasta, bread, and salad for $27. This place just got upgraded from Meh to 4 stars. I am also giving them a better score because I appreciated that the manager tried to reach out, and ask that we give them another try. I thought that was pretty professional, and it sparked a sort of community spirit that I have a soft spot for.

This place is awesome! Their BBQ Chicken Pizza is the boss, but make sure you tell them to go light on the BBQ sauce or else it will be oozing out of every nook and cranny--unless that's your thing, of course. Seriously, each and every one of their pizzas taste like heaven and their staff is very friendly. They recognize me now that I've been there at least 100 times (seriously)! Great place, great pizza...Go There!

Very unprofessional and pizza is not good anyway. Pizza is not all that: The dough is thick. I tried the bbq chicken and it does not taste like bbq. The only thing I could taste was the dough and the chicken. nothing memorable. Unprofessional: I called Monday morning to have my pizza order delivered on Thursday, so I would be sure to have it delivered on time. It was at 11am sharp just after they opened so I talked to the owner who told me that delivery in Woodbury would be fine; $35/pizza and $3 delivery. I told him I wanted the largest pizza they had, and was excited about it. Owner tells me to call back on Wednesday, the day before delivery. Waited this long to finally call today and guess WHAT!*&^&^#$*&??? person on the phone tells me they are very booked for tomorrow between 11-12pm. Good because I need my delivery for 5pm ..."sigh" but I find out they DO NOT DELIVER IN WOODBURY, because not within their 5mi radious. Very surprised...I tried to explain that I talked to the owner and they did not care. If they delivered they would have to charge me gratuity then blahblahblah... NO THANKS, your pizza is not worth a headache. BYE and will never see you again!

same here for a slice of pizza and it was just not as extreme and awesome as expected. alot of people say this is the best place pizza but i think i have tasted better ones. I was craving for some wings, so i ordered it, cost 9 dollars so i assume there should be at least 12+ wings, little to my surprise. small ass wings. 8 wings..wasnt reallly happy about that but overall its okay.

One of the best pizza's one can get in all of Orange County. Must go if you're in Orange County, specifically the UCI-Newport Beach area. My sis and bro in law had eaten at their home before I arrived. Well i get my small double pepperoni pizza and bring it back to their house. They took a look and smelled this fresh, hot pizza and both asked at the same time, "can i have a piece?" LOL, it was great

everyone and everyone's mom has their fundraiser here! they have a little bar seating area where you can watch games, and a great outdoor patio seating. their pizza is pretty good, but not great (too much bread). Dear Gina's Pizza, I just wanted to apologize for the couple times i took rolls of toilette paper from your restroom. i was a broke college student who spent all her money on beer. Thank you for the good times! xoxo, chanel

Gina's is my go to delivery place when I'm feeling lazy or after a super late night. I have actually never had their pizza but their sandwiches are pretty good. I've had the off order where it's come cold but all in all I'm usually pleased and they've always come on time.

Our family regularly orders from Gina's in Irvine. They are very friendly and the food is great for the price. The Works Pastrami is incredible and the Rasta Salad with their famous Cilantro dressing (I can drink this stuff it's so good) is our regular order. The only reason I am not giving five stars to Gina's is because they ALWAYS forget our order of peperoncinis! A Pastrami sandwich is not the same without EXTRA peperoncinis.

The customer service is terrible. Employees were carrying each other on their back n shouting all the time. Have never had such a bad experience at any other Irvine restaurants. Pizza was also ok. Nothing special.

My family and friends have been frequenting Gina's for years, and it has always been GOOD, at times GREAT. Unfortunately, last year I believed they changed their head chef and some items on their menu, and although there are good changes to be had, this was not one of them. Their sauces aren't as flavorful as they used to be, and the overall quality seems to have gone down. I do enjoy their turkey and arugula sandwhich- it's delicious. And their sweet potato fries are OK- they decided to overpower them with rosemary now which they didn't need to do. Some of our family favorites have been the Chicken Palermo pizza that they stopped making (such a shame), the spinach and cheese pasta, rasta salad with cilantro dressing, and barbacoa pizza (which my sister said tastes weird and different now). Their pizza dough is very thick compared to the amount of sauce they use, but they are always fresh and they have a wide variety of toppings you can add on (for a hefty price). When we order pitchers and drinks the guys are always generous with their pours :) They have about 5 beers on draft and a small but good wine selection. People talk smack on the servers and cashiers but these are young-ish college kids that are very friendly and have always been if you treat them like humans and not like trash (as many people carelessly treat servers). We've always liked talking to Alex and Ryan and the rest of the guys. It's just sad though that we pay about $100 for a few pizzas, some rasta salad, and beer and give a nice tip and we don't really enjoy the food anymore. Also, it can be super loud and hard to hear over the music- the acoustics are poor. I don't want this place to close but it honestly isn't the same and we miss the old Gina's.

I like the way they make the pizza dough crispy where the toppings don't fall easily. I love the GodFather pizza the most from Gina's. When I'm in the area, I always stop by for some pizza.

So I got the pesto pasta, and I thought it was REALLY average for an Italian restaurant/eatery. The bread was also kinda ehh too. My friend on the other hand got the Parmesan Chicken Sandwich and THAT looked SO BOMB! I wish I got that instead! ugh. I clearly didn't order the right thing cause I always have order the wrong thing and end up wanting what the person next to me has. This location particularly feels rather small and doesn't fit many people in it. Service was nice and friendly at least when I went. My food came out fast, although others can come out slower depending on what you order (like the pizzas). I think that the pricing here is WAYYYYY to high for the amount of food you get and how "great" it tastes. People always talk about how great Gina's is. How about people start talking about how horrible the pricing is!!! So not worth it........yet! Until I try that chicken parmesan..... that'll be the day. Hope it doesn't fail my taste buds.

Been a fan of Gina's ever since starting at UCI. As a graduate, I still love the place! I've ordered quite a good number of things so I'm gonna start from the very first thing I ordered way back when... Sicilian Chicken Sandwich: Super tasty! The chicken to sauce to cheese ratio is perfect and I always end up saving the rest for later. The bread can be a little tough sometimes though. Penne Pasta w/ Garlic bread: Garlic bread is amazing! and the pasta was pretty good too. The Godfather Pizza: If youre a secret carnivore like I am, this is the pizza for you. Sooo much meaty goodness. mmmm. I'm starting to salivate just thinking about it. Meat Lasagna: Pretty delicious, tastes home made. and lastly, my favorite thing to order is the Rasta salad, no peppers, added sicilian chicken with cilantro salad dressing on the side. = PARTY IN YOUR MOUTH. Awesome beers on tap! The servers/ cashiers are always really chill and friendly, I've even had a couple friends who worked here. Awesome atmosphere, makes Irvine feel like an actual college town.

I'm from the East Coast. Enough said. You won't find the word "pie" anywhere on the menu here. Your best bet is to drive 2 minutes to Ray's Pizza in the University Center. Why people go here is beyond me, but I have heard of good deals on beer and they do have things besides pizza. Unfortunately, as a graduate student, you will be subject to eating this at least once during your stay. Seems to be the campus pizza delivery of choice. Again, why this is I don't know. We may be smart, but not all of us have good taste or sense. It's not cheap, and beware of it being way undercooked during peak delivery hours.

This place has really good pizza. I've only tried this vegetarian pizza but its soo good! The sauce is a pesto sauce and it comes with all of these veggies and cheese.. yumm.. I love their crust! Its really crispy on the edges and soft in the middle. I also really like this place because theyre really nice to the community! They allow a lot of UCI organizations to hold fundraisers here! Of course they get a lot more profit from hosting fund raising events but still! It's just a nice gesture :)

a group of us went to ginas on saturday night and sat out on the patio. the food wasnt bad but the service fell short. when we arrived we were still waiting for a few extra people in our party so we went ahead and ordered some fries to get us started till the rest of our friends arrived. our friends came and we ordered food.. and drinks... 45 mins later still no fries! the restaurant was busy but im pretty sure our server just forgot about our fries because by the time she brought them out they weren't even hot. i will probably dine here again if i was in the area but hope the service is better next time!

I came to Gina's a few days ago and got a lunch combo: drink, slice of cheese pizza, and side salad for about $6.99. Not bad! The pizza, however, was really thick yet there was barely any sauce or cheese. The salad was good, but definitely not enough ranch dressing. My friend and I also ordered sweet potato fries, but they forgot to bring them out with our order. When I asked for them, I got a pretty snappy response that they were still being made. Alright, except when we got them they were stone cold. I am a bit surprised by my overall experience, since the restaurant was crowded for lunch, and since my program tends to call them for catering. Their catered pizzas are really good, but my in-house experience definitely could have been better.

Gina's makes some good specialty pizzas like their alfredo pizza and the BBQ chicken pizza, but the regular cheese and pepperoni pizza here just isn't very good in my opinion. The individual slices are a bit pricey for what you get, too. As Ali P. stated in his review, the pizza is really thick but it seems like there aren't enough toppings to match the thickness of the dough/crust. You can sort of see it in the picture of the cheese pizza that was posted. For the price i'd rather just get Pizza Hut or Little Caesars. If you want some good thin crust pizza and a shorter wait time, head over to Ray's Pizza in the University Center. However, they do have some awesome garlic cheese bread here and they have some pretty nice deals in the Student Dollar Stretcher booklet. It's a good place to go if you have a large group of people since they had a big outdoor patio area. I've lived within a half mile of this place for the past 4 1/2 years and I love pizza, but I hardly ever get a craving to eat here.

There are a few selection things I enjoy on their menu such as the Pesto Pizza, they finish the food fairly quick and deliver, but most of the food is just okay and the price is too much for what you get. However if you live near UCI this is a nice to place to order from once in a while. Just don't order the cheese bread. It is probably the lamest and cheapestly done cheese bread I have ever seen. Will still order from here on occasion, yeah, but there are better places to go if you have the time.

We tried this place several times. We got delivery each time. The first time it was great. We were so glad we found good pizza that delivered. The ingredients were fresh and it tasted homemade. The next three times we ordered the delivery took really long... an hour and 20 minutes+ A couple times we were going to order, but we called and they said the wait time was 2 hours. Anyway, the last couple of times the pizzas have all been overcooked and barely warm when they got here. The crust was so hard it was almost cracker-like. And they aren't cheap. I'm wondering if it's a much better experience if you go there??? Anyway, I don't think it's worth it and don't want to suffer through another bad pizza. We're moving on. It's really sad that the best pizza we have found around here so far is Costco.

I have mixed reviews with this place whether I order delivery for work or dine-in with friends. I am, however, a huge fan of the Godfather Pizza and their garlic cheese breads. I also like their lunch special deals! mm.... maybe I'll go eat here for lunch next week. PROS: - great tasting pizza (when you get it fresh) - fresh toppings and great crispy pizza - reasonable prices - see their website for special deals CONS: - Delivery kinda sucks...so you need to really stay on top of things with them and order the day before and also make sure you have them deliver it 15 minutes prior to your meeting or events, since they usually come late. You need to specifically follow up with them on the cutlery, plates, napkins, and their condiments. - very crowded inside when you dine in, especially when it gets busy. What to Order: Lunch Special, Godfather Pizza, Garlic Cheese Bread, and their Rasta Pasta Salad.

Pizza is my favorite kind of food! Gina's was the 1st pizza place I've been to in Irvine. I liked it and will return to try it again. (Overall grade: B.) I ordered 2 slices of pizza; Hawaiian and cheese with pineapples. Their pizza is not Chicago-style, nor is it NY-style. The ends are thick and throughout the pizza it has good height (but is not deep dish). The pineapples were big and plentiful and the cheese was good. The sauce was pretty average. I think they should put spices in their sauce. Next time, I will order an entire pizza with more toppings instead of just individual slices. Then, I will be able to update this review.....

The food here is actually really good. Sandwiches are tasty. Hot wings are crispy and a little spicy. Surprisingly, the pizzas are only decent and I like the caprese salad a lot. I'd say it's a little pricey but not bad for a place like this. The bad thing is that every time I eat in, it feels like the college kids that work here are being put off just by helping me. It seems like they'd rather talk to their friends at the bar than take my order. Since I like the food much more than service, I always order online and pick up. I don't even want to phone my order in, because of the service. I live across the street, so it's kind of sad that I can't walk across and sit at the bar and enjoy a few beers. They have a good selection of taps too.

Pretty good pizza, my favorite has been the BBQ Chicken, the Lunch specials are aiight, and their pizzas are worth all the deals and coupons they hand out, including the free drink with check in! Also, not a huge selection of beer, but some gems!

One evening I did not feel like cooking so I ordered the Gina's Fettucini Alfredo with Sicillian Chicken and the House special pizza to go for my girlfriend and I. The pasta was kind of small but it tasted alright. The pizza was very delicious though. The pizza itself would get 5 stars but the pasta would get 3 stars. So what does that mean? stay away from the pasta and eat the pizza! It's delicious. This will definitely be my first choice for pizza. A bit on the expensive side but I think it's worth the price. You cant go wrong with the house special pizza.

Gina's is the best pizza place next to UCI. That doenst mean that it's worth it. Prices are pretty high up there -- especially for college students. The pizza is good, but the outrageous prices they charge makes me not want to go. It's very convenient for UCI students because of the distance. And they serve beer. Lucky for me I live in LB where good pizza places don't mean gourmet food prices.

Awesome service and great food at reasonable prices! We were well taken care of!! The Pene with creamy marinara is Tasty!! And if you are on a budget, the biggaslice starts at $4.59! They are open till 11pm in Irvine and graciously accepted our Yelp coupon!

This little Italian restaurant is always crowded. The UCI folks love it an so do I. It's a great place to meet women and or friends. The food is great, except the pizza is a little to thick, no worries, I asked for extra thin crust and that pizza was amazing. I had the last slice this morning, cold and still delicious. Stay away from the guy who takes the orders, he seems to have an attitude every time I visit. try and let the hot chick take your order.

Their chicken palmero pizza is really good if you like white sauce on your pizza. It's a cute little place, and the food is pretty good overall. Been a huge fan ever since I discovered it two years ago! One of the better pizzas out there I think.

  • Lori W.

I REALLY want this restaurant to be good, since it is just a block from my house, but it is dissappointing. We go back about once a year, because it is convenient, but then remember why we avoid it. The food is low quality and not terribly good, which could be forgiven if the prices weren't so high. The staff are complacent. I left a tip which I would consider generous since you have to order at the counter, but still servers passed by our table three or more times and failed to pre-bus our empty dishes, or to ask if we wanted another drink. We didn't even get napkins or silverware! I watched as two other patrons at different tables on the patio also asked for silverware and napkins. The tables outside hadn't been wiped down in days at least. This isn't a restaurant, it's over priced fast food.

Top 3 Pizza destination in OC. Haus of Pizza and Laventinas would be the other two. Luckily for you, there are a few Gina's in OC but this location was my first. It opened at the tail end of my UCI undergrad career but since I ended up working across the street at a law firm for another 4 years, it was a constant lunch time place for the group of us. One thing I can honestly say though, this location is run by idiots that know nothing about service. Service alone, I'd give you a 1 at best, luckily for you, I fought through it, loved the product and can look past your warts. (Here's an example - call in an order ahead of time because we know how SLOW they are, get there 15 minutes later to find out that they forgot to put the order in.... 15 other times, we'll be there, waiting to pay and pickup our orders, which are ready, in a line 10 people deep, yet they NEVER OPEN up another register! Aggghhhh - you can see how good the food is that I kept putting up with these yahoos.) Anyway, never had a bad pizza here and tried many different combos, specialties or my own creations. Also a big fan of the Sicilian chicken sandwich - very good! They use a pizza oven, good sauce, enough cheese, high quality and I mean high quality toppings (still my favorite for sausage). So, if you can get past the idiot squad at the door, the food is awesome.

I've eaten at Gina's a few times since they moved into this space. When I was at school at UCI (1998-2002), it was Chicago Chicago Pizza. I've had a couple of sandwiches and a pizza here and all were great. The prices are steep considering it being across from a university...HOWEVER, this is freaking Irvine!! The Irvine Company charges an arm and a leg for rent and the businesses have to pass it on to customers to some degree. Overall, this is not a starving student restaurant, but it serves good food.

  • Hirari N.

Really great tasting pizza that is much faster with their service than any other major pizza business (at least since the last time I went some 10 years ago). Very casual, you can sit anywhere you like after ordering and they'll walk out of the kitchen calling your name while holding your pizza and plates. I came at around 7:30pm and it wasn't crowded, but at 8pm it became packed. I would never go to a dine-in pizza restaurant and I never did since I was a little kid, but most definitely I would come back here with friends.

Place is a decent college hangout especially for those that have just recently turned 21 at UCI but otherwise, the food here desperately leaves something to be desired. Pizzas tend to be bland and overpriced whereas the hot sandwiches are very standard fare, nothing to really justify their higher prices. If you happen to order pasta, make sure you eat it there otherwise if you take it out, even just across the street it gets really watery and nasty to eat. Wings are okay, very tender. But to sum it up, food is meh! Only redeeming quality about this place is the chill patio in the back where you can have a few cold beers with friends and enjoy the evening. Of course you won't be staying there long since by 10pm this place is closed and you're stuck drinking back at your college apartment since nothing else is open in Irvine. Yay?

I always order pizza from here when I'm too lazy to drive over to my first pick...Z Pizza, because they don't deliver....I love Gina's....for their yummy sauce, and the great Rasta Salad (try if! It's amazing!!!). I don't care for the bland-tasting, thick crust, though, and you should know that you can order THIN or THICK CRUST....if you don't specify, the default crust they will bring you is their THICK crust...if you don't like thick crust, make sure you specify thin. One time they got my order wrong and they rushed a new pizza over in 20 minutes...free of charge....therefore, I give the service 5-stars! One more thing I just thought about...If you're in the mood for a salad, I highly recommend the RASTA Salad...It's absolutely unique and delicious! Try both the Italian dressing (on the side) and the Cilantro Dressing...Both are wonderful! :)

Tired. Hungry. Scared after the ropes course at UCI I came here for dinner. Overall, I was amazed at how close it was to the student apartments in UCI. Their pizza is amazing. The specialty pizza was my favorite because it literally was so amazing that it melted in my mouth. Although the pizza is fantastic, the price was what made me somewhat sad because it really is expensive. This place is probably not within budget range for a college student. They have indoor and outdoor dining areas so its perfect for large groups. I often see lots of UCI students here socializing with friends or families here to watch football games and more. I love the environment. Although the price might be expensive, its good to indulge yourself in authentic pizza once in a while. Even if it means spending a couple more dollars than you should.

Nothing special. Was planning to go to a place next door, but it closed down so I settled at this place because I didn't feel like driving more... The pastrami sandwich they suggested wasn't bad, but they didn't even include all the ingredients. The food is averagely priced, but nothing extraordinary. Found this place on accident. Wouldn't go back.

I had Gina's on my radar to try sometime. We sampled some of their pizza during the Corona Del Mar 5K Run, but that wasn't indicative of their true quality since it was cold pizza. Plus, after running 3 miles, I would've scarfed anything down. So we had been having cravings ever since and decided to order for dinner. They have some deals posted online, and for Monday it was buy 1 pizza, get another for half the price. We tried 2 smalls, one house special and the other pesto. The ingredients were fresh, and I especially liked the roasted and green peppers from the house special. They weren't kidding when they said a small pizza serves 2-3 people. After about the 3rd slice, I was pretty stuffed. Several days later, we're still eating the leftovers and they taste just as good, even when nuked in the microwave. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the pizza. It's definitely not a Chicago-style deep dish pizza, but more of a hybrid where it's not as thick crusted. They did tuck the toppings underneath the cheese on top, a la deep dish, but overall the crust isn't as thick with too much doughy bread, which I'm not a big fan of. I would definitely prefer Gina's over BJ's.

Gina's is great... Usually, when I have quick Italian food (as a vegetarian), I'm limited to either salad, pasta w/ marinara or cheese pizza (unless I want canned vegetables - which I absolutely DO NOT!). At Gina's they offer 2 hot vegetarian sandwiches w/ fresh veggies which are quite delicious: Our Famous Veggie ($7.49) Fresh mushrooms, olives, roasted peppers, red onion, tomato, mozzarella, w/ mustard and mayo. Bella Portabello ($7.48) Marinated portabello mushroom, roasted peppers, red onions, mozzarella, w/ balsamic vinagerette, fresh basil, and garlic aioli. The bread is warm, crusty on the outside and soft inside. Very yummy! Price is not too devastating, and the service is great - I called to order ahead for pickup and provided our phone number, they immediately knew my name and regular order. Nice!

I'm tired and hungry. I want to eat my pizza. Too bad it's burnt. 40 minutes wait. Time i could have spent studying. If I fail my midterms I'm blaming this place! At least the pizza was free. *Overall the pizza wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good. Nothing special. I'll go back to this place if i pass my midterms. For now, if i have a pizza craving, I'll just eat at Pippin.

I have had good dining experiences at other gina's, but this location was borderline horrific. -Slow service (place was almost empty) -table were not cleared -order was wrong -staff not friendly -appeared to be understaffed -bathrooms were filthy + food once it arrived was actually pretty good

Coming from SF, with the variety of pizza places and toppings, I don't think I would find a pizza joint in the OC with pesto on their pizza until Gina's. For years now, I have been searching for a pizza place with the unique flavors and toppings that I missed from up North and long to one day find it in the OC. A couple of days ago, my search and cravings of a pesto pizza had been found at Gina's. At first I thought, a pizza place is just another pizza place, but it's not, at least not here. Hubby ordered the pizzas while I was at work and knowing me, he ordered me a PERFECT one. It was a pesto with mushroom and eggplant pie. Some may think this doesn't sound appetizing, but believe me, if you try it, you will like it. The combination of mushrooms, eggplant, pesto and cheese complimented all the flavors just right. None of the ingredients over powered the other one. The crust was also the winner. It wasn't heavy or too thick; it has the right crisp and chew to it. This pizza is definitely for me and I have finally found a place in the OC for it. I liked it so much, I savored every slice and ended up saving a slice for each day this week for lunch. Hubby had to order a manly pizza, with sausage, pepperoni, bell peppers, etc, but I loved my pizza so much, I didn't have any of his so I can't tell you how it taste but I am certain that was good too. By the way, my pizza was so good, hubby ate more slices on my pie than his on the first night and he is not usually the meatless type of eater. My search for my kind of pizza is over. Now I can just sit back, relax and wait for the next time when I have a pizza craving.

I've been here 3 times with my son from UCI and other family members. The personal service is outstanding. I rarely ever give that compliment to any restaurant. They seem to always have plenty of staff to help customers and our last server (Johnathan) was great. He was very personable and easy going. The pizza was very, very good. The food is definitely worth every penny. Will I go back? You better believe it.

Decided to go out to dinner after a long day at the beach. We didn't want anything fancy or expensive. Drove up & down PCH and noticed Gina's. Ordered the house special without onions, 2 draft beers + 1 diet coke for about 30.00. It was one of the best pizzas we've had in a long time. Fresh ingredients and the sauce-MOLTO BENE!!!! There are two locations in Laguna Beach, we went to 1100 S. Coast HWY. The restaurant has seating inside/outside, very casual atmosphere & friendly staff. A Must for Pizza Lovers!!!

The service here is terrible. Seems like it's just a bunch of frat boys fooling around. And the delivery took forever AND they sent the wrong pizza!!! Don't ever order delivery.

For me, Gina's can be a hit or miss. I've had the Messina (spicy) chicken pizza, the Barbacoa (bbq) chicken pizza, both of which were just okay but nothing mind-blowing. And if I recall, their thin-crust style erred more on the burnt side more often than not, which really sucks because the crust makes or breaks the pizza. I felt that the toppings on these pizzas were a little skimpy, and the flavors weren't particularly bold. That said, there was one sure hit that struck a real chord with me recently. Now, I'm not a big fan of Hawaiin pizza because I've had too many bad ones from Round Table or God-knows-what-chain that really messes it up with canned pineapple or whatever. But suffice it to say, Gina's has completely changed my mind on this one--sweet large pieces of fresh pineapple bursting in my mouth with hot melty cheese--and the crowning glory for their night? Perfectly baked crust. It was really good. And if you're feeling adventurous, try it with Sriracha sauce (i kid you not). I'm a little iffy on the price. It's not so expensive for a 'gourmet' pizza, but I would have to be craving for this stuff, so it really depends on my mood.

My absolute favorite place for pesto pasta or a slice of avocado, ricotta, and pesto pizza. I love that they customize slices! Its prime location next to the UCI campus makes it quite the hub for college students, and for good reason! The prices are a bit high, but in my opinion, it's definitely worth it.

Meat ball sandwich was amazing. Restaurant manager Ryan was super helpful and friendly. we ordered some salads for family Easter Dinner (Mozzarella salad) we get it all the time from the Costa Mesa location.. first time at this location and will be coming back...

Gina's is located by Albertson's, Del Taco, Oriental Kitchen (omg do not eat there, it's disgusting!), John Paul Salon, etc. I realize that a majority of my Yelp reviews about pizza places are about BBQ chicken pizzas. This one is good! It's a regular crust. Eating out on the patio is nice on a sunny afternoon. You order at the register first and then find your seat. They will find your number. I haven't had anything else but the pizza so my rating doesn't include those, sorry! You can also get individual slices which are HUGE! They totally mound on the toppings & cheese (my favorite!).

I'm impressed! I've been a UCI student for 3 1/2 years now, but this is the first time that I've actually eaten here. The food is actually really tasty. I had a chicken parmigiana sandwich that was really perfectly made. I really enjoyed the bread & sauce that they used! I was talking to one of the owners and I guess everything is made from scratch. And you can really tell. It is a little pricey for what it is though. But if you want a good sandwich that tastes freshly made, definitely check this place out!

This is the Best Pizza near the Irvine campus according to a grad student. I enjoyed the Spinach and Tomato, but the BBQ Chicken was too sweet. I don't like sweet pizza. It was also on the soft side. Basically, it's good, but it ain't got nothin' on Berkeley pizza!! Not in creativity, texture, or flavor. Sorry guys.

I went for lunch at 12pm on a weekday. The line was decent and moved along fast. I grabbed a seat after submitting my order and waited, and waited, and waited. When I entered, I wasn't all that hungry and figured I should eat because it was lunch time but all that waiting made my stomach grumble and I actually started to feel some hunger pangs. It was during that time that I decided that this had better be one of the best damn pizzas I've ever had. The cheese and pineapple pizza arrived after forever. The first thing I noticed was that they weren't kidding when they said that it was pineapple CHUNKS. I had huge cubes of pineapple that weighed the pizza down. The pizza wasn't all that great. The dough was dense yet crispy, the crust tasteless, and the sauce bland. There wasn't much sauce or cheese, and the cheese was placed on TOP of my toppings. I realized that there was no cheese between my toppings and the sauce. I think the pizzas are expensive for what they are. Gina's charges $2.75 per slice and an additional 45 cents for each topping. Sure the toppings are impressive but it's not enough to make up for the sub-par pizza.

Gross. Ick. It's hot lunch but worse. The pizza has a thick crust, a light spread of sauce and a bit of cheese. The crust is way too thick and chewy for my tastes. I'd prefer to eat at Round Table than this place. Pastaria? This is Olive Garden speak and it doesn't taste much better than Olive Garden. Their salads aren't half bad. The restaurant is popular with the UC Irvine kids who live across the street. They have some beers on tap which is probably what draws them in. The patio outside is alright but could be better if the patio furniture was a little more comfortable. Service is casual and friendly, but the prices seem a bit high.

Okay, this review may be a bit biased since my friend and I were very hungover and we were craving pizza since the night before. Domino's delivery would have cost us additional $ so we figured we'd walk a few minutes over to Gina's Pizza and try that instead. We ordered a medium sized Four Season. As soon as it arrived: "Okay, half for you. Half for me. Don't talk to me until we're done." Now, my friend is this tiny girl who tries to avoid unnecessary carbs and fat. Maybe it was because we were so very hungry that we devoured the whole thing in record time without question! Pizza was not super oily and was quite delicious. A generous amount of cheese and toppings and the sauce wasn't too salty. A bit price-y though, but I found out that there's always coupons in those Student Saver books they hand out on campus so next time I'll be sure to use those! Good: location, not too oily, good pizza, lots of seating Bad: a bit expensive

Yum! Someone brought this over to a friend's apartment, and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious pizza crust. It was soft and chewy in way that did not feel mass produced. I especially liked the Hawaiian and the BBQ Chicken. I cannot say much about the restaurant since all I had was take-out. However, I would definitely get this pizza again.

Living by campus I've always loved having Gina's right around the corner. If I'm feeling lazy I can order something online and walk 2 min to grab it. I've had a little bit of everything, from the pizzas to pastas and sandwiches. Gina's seems to use really good ingredients so the food comes together to taste like real food and it's delicious. Some of the gourmet pizzas are astounding. The pastas can be good, but a lot of times I've found they seem sort of lazily put together. The pastrami sandwich is definitely worth it though. One thing that does upset me about Gina's though, is sometimes the quality of the food can be inconsistent. I've brought home meals and finished thinking it was a great decision, and other times thinking it was meh. When they shine they really shine, but sometimes I'm disappointed. The rating I'm giving is for the food when it's good though. The servers and cashiers are always very friendly and enthusiastic, really makes it feel like you're eating next to a college. One disclaimer I would like to make though about anyone trying to make an online order like I usually do: I've found the cooks pretty consistently ignore little details that you're asked about when you order online. The site will ask you about preferences in sauce/changes in food style and other little details that will visibly show up on your receipt when you pick up, and yet it seems the kitchen staff just completely skimmed past it. Not a dealbreaker, it can just be upsetting to bring home something slightly different from what I ordered

after years of working in a firm that catered BJ's pizza every friday, i had grown an intense repulsion of thick-crusted pizza goo. nowadays, if i do eat pizza, i get a flatbread or new york type thin crust. and then there was gina's. gina's pizza is delectably PERFECT. flawless. a crispy crust with the thickness just in between "thick" and "thin", with just the right amount of olive oil (or is it butter?) brushed atop to brown the crust and keep the inside soft and delicate. The thin layer of cheese was perfectly melted and after just one bite, i was in love. it's located in an unassuming plaza with albertson's, just near the UCI campus. I totally wouldn't have discovered it if i wasn't brought here by my bf. But now i can't wait to go back! mmm i'm already thinking about my next pizza...

The Anteaters' Peach Pit...seriously, there are always students here, good food, close, beer, reasonable price. I love: Calzones, spinach and cheese ravioli with pesto, meatball sandwich, ziti, and RASTA SALAD(lettuce and pasta) with cilantro dressing and extra peppercinis, and GARLIC BREAD--I love bread! And beer beer beer. Beer. I miss those nice days sitting out in the patio with your friends sharing pitcher after pitcher of beer...and those nights after Monday night meeting or for Songfest fundraiser and just hanging out.

Food: Pretty decent food. I recommend the Rasta Pasta Salad , which is a mix of pasta and salad with your choice of dressing. Both the cilantro and balsamic dressing are good. Their garlic cheese bread is delicious and comes with a good amount of marinara sauce. The portions here are pretty big; so a "half-size" is a good portion. Service: This place confuses me, is it fast food or restaurant? The waiters sometimes play the role of a restaurant waiter by taking your order and asking how thing's are going; and other times the service is miss. My friend at our table experienced really bad experience. Her slice of pizza took about 30min. to come out! The waiter was not too nice or even concerned about it either; just some college student who laughed the matter off. When she asked about her pizza he tried to be funny and said "oh well we just didn't think you deserved it and wanted you to go hungry." (no joke..haha) Dude was lucky I was content eating my meal away; so food doesn't come out all at once, always separately.. Fundraiser: Gina's will allow non-profit clubs to have fundraiser's by donating 15% of all the food purchased to the organization from 5p.m. to closing. You will need to talk to Ryan, who is in charge of the fundraier events. Though 15% is a low percentage compared to other places that do this, gina's does not require you fill-out a million forms and bring in a flyer for each member. Crowd: Majority of the people here are older and consist of families with children. Place gets pretty crowded on weekends for dinner. Overall, come try out this place. Good food at decent prices.

I came here for my sorority's fundraiser and boy do I miss this place! Though the pizza can be a bit overpriced for a college student's standards, you cannot go wrong with the specials that they have in the New U! In addition to the pizza and drink that I got, I also got minestrone soup with their garlic bread. Ingredients are fresh and food is yummy! Service is also friendly too. :)

THE GIST: If you love pizza, you must try here at least once! Their sauce is delicious.. and that's what we think makes any pizza excellent. RECOMMENDATION: --MAKE YOUR OWN PIZZA: Our favorite toppings on our own large pizza is: meatballs, smoked gouda, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, extra sauce and sometimes avocado or pinnaples. --HOME MADE CREAMY CILANTRO DRESSING (with any salad here): This dressing is so good and flavorful.... makes any salad extra yummy. Best dressing we've had yet. SERVICE: Service depends on how busy it is and who is helping. We've gone here quite a few times and service varys from great to cocky. Overall good enough for a pizza joint. ENVIRONMENT: Newcastle on tap makes the environment quite enjoyable ;) . Outside seating is nice when the sun is out.

Very yummy! The pizza is a bit thick and greasy for my taste. Would be nice to be a bit simpler. But this is definitely my new go-to local pizza place, and I'm excited to try their other menu items (calzones!) as well.

Gina's is by-far the best pizza place in Orange County! Not exaggerating! The environment is very laid-back and chill. The employees are very friendly and have a good sense of humor. and on top of all that, THEIR PIZZA, PASTA, BREADSTICKS, PIZZA FRIES are so good!!!!

I came here with a friend and decided to order one of their hot sandwiches. I had never had one before and went with the meatball sub. It was quite delicious! However, I usually get a pizza to go, and this time we decided to eat on the patio. I almost immediately remembered why I never eat here...the undergrads. If you have never been in a restaurant completely filled with UCI undergrads, consider yourself lucky. Mostly made up of 18-21 year olds that were born and raised in Irvine....'nuff said. Anyways, the food was great, but a meatball sub and a small fountain drink set me back $11...!!! My goodness! It was good, but not THAT good... The service gave me mixed signals...the dude was really friendly, but he was having LOUD conversations with his co-workers while I was trying to order and not paying attention to what I was saying. Needless to say, most of the staff here is made up of UCI undergrads. Sigh...

Sighhhhh I've had so much better. I'm a cheap girl, and my wallet (and heart) is still trying to recover from the dough I dropped here for subpar pizza and pasta. This looks like a good pizza place. It's inviting, down to earth, and if you visit, you'd see from the window that quite a few chefs are busy in the kitchen rolling the dough.. working hard to make a good pizza for you. At this point, you're thinking YES, yes, yes- this is where I want to be on a friday night!! 15 minutes after ordering, the pizza comes out, it's hot and looks fresh and enticing. The cheese is bubbling oh so nicely. This is where it all goes downhill. Take a bite, and you will realize that you can make better pizza with trader joe's pre-made dough and marinara-- even if you are just experimenting! I had the godfather pizza, which had a few types of meat. Nothing stood out. The pizza was not very flavorful at all, and was almost $10 for an individual size. I also had the chicken parmesan, which came with a side of penne pasta and garlic bread. The penne pasta was cooked al dente, but the sauce was so disappointing. Ragu in a jar is better, really. The chicken parmesan was even more disappointing. It tasted like chopped chicken topped with cheap parmesan that you can buy in a bag from ralphs, and bland marinara.... for $10.99. The garlic bread was dry and did not have any evidence of garlic. I think they tried though. The only thing that was good was the caprese salad. It had cherry tomatoes, basil, field greens, and excellent fresh mozzarella, with a creamy balsamic dressing. However, the salad was served in a TINY bowl with the sauce on the side. It was impossible to thoroughly mix the dressing in the little bowl. If I am over-paying for salad as is, I would like it to at least be tossed for me. Everything at Gina's you can make at home -- at 1/3 the price, and much more tasty. This is a popular hangout spot, but the food (and the service... or lack thereof) is truly, truly disappointing.

Gina's Pizza has decent food but really, it's just a place for high school and college kids to come and grab pizza, pasta and/or beer. I enjoyed the pasta and for a quick meal, I would come back here but don't be expecting anything fancy.

This place is run by some college kids who have no idea how to greet people let alone giving a good service. I decided to be fair and tried them 3 times before writing any reviews and boy do they disappoint me every time... Once they brought wrong food after 25 mins wait. second time they served appetizer AFTER dinner! and third time was when I asked for a set of fork and knife because there were none provided and none left in the special container, they gave me an attitude as if it is my job to bring my own fork!!!! The food is so-so. you can get a much better pizza for 15 buck at CPK! I would never go there again.

So I came here with family and used the $25+tax family deal coupon. You get a medium pizza with two toppings, an individual sized pasta salad and a dinner pasta of your choice. This coupon expires in February 2013. However, the cashier kept on telling us that the family deal will cost $29+tax instead because the price of everything went up since the printing of the coupon. He told us that he was still going to "honor" the coupon by charging $29+tax because he claimed it was a $6 off coupon even though that was nowhere stated in the coupon. What? Seems like this restaurant did not carefully consider its costs and profits before sending out the coupons. That is not my problem! The shift manager, thankfully, actually honored the coupon for real. We then ask for the order to be for dine in. We end up getting everything in to-go packaging, which is ok. However, when I asked for plates, one of the plates still had food grime on it. Gross! I have to say the food was good. But there are other Gina's locations with similar quality food and better service(and who honor any coupons without fuss). These locations have not tried to offer discounts and then essentially charge an extra $5(or more) onto the discount price once they had me through the door and ordering. Such false advertising upsets me.

Came by to support a peer educator group at UCI. I've been a fan of their pizza for a while and have had other good dishes from the menu. Last night I tried the Chicken Pesto sandwich. Excellent! I would like more greens and basil but I'm picky that way.

Gina's is good. Decent pizza and close to work. Once in awhile, my co-workers and I would walk to Gina's for lunch. There are times, I would order their sandwich or sandwich with side salad. But I do like their pizzas too. My favorite there is the Hawaiian. This place does get crowded for lunch, so I prefer to eat outside at the patio. It is nice they have people there to bring out your order to you. It is a nice place for lunch, but it does cost more than your average meal at fast food restaurant.

One star for quick service, another for great garlic bread. The pizza, however, sucks. Very thick crust and I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. The area isn't diverse at all and I'm a UCI alumni. I'm used to sticking out. But somehow I still felt uncomfortable here. I'll stick to pizza in LA county.

Alright, face down for a local pizzeria this place is pretty damn good. The Godfather is an infamous choice for many who attend this place, and a secondary choice would be The Mezzino Fire Pizza. It takes a little while for the pizza to be done, but it is delicious regardless, and the customer service is excellent. Five stars all the way!

i've gone here about a dozen times and i gotta tell you, as the years go by, the place keeps deteriorating. the kids working the counter are beginning to have a clueless look on their faces, and 3 out of the last 4 times, they've gotten my order wrong. also, seemingly they're getting very cheap with toppings to a point that i thought they brought over a cheese pizza and had to look carefully to spot a few shaved slices of mushrooms. for a price tag of $25, i expected a lot better. the place is nice and cozy with a nice bar, so my 2 stars are for the beer and ambiance. everything else is really below average. MANAGEMENT: please hire some people that can take orders better not just the cheapest college labor; speed up your service... there's no reason to wait 38 minutes for 1 large pizza; AND add more toppings... afterall, you're charging an arm and a leg for each additional topping, so i dont need a magnifying glass to spot a hairline slice of onion or a shred of mushroom. AND oh... almost forgot, dont let your patio turn into a smoker's lounge. it really is a turn off for people trying to avoid lung cancer.

I don't come here often unless my friends come, but we always enjoy their pizzas. On a lazy Sunday, I decided to order pizza and eat at home and wanted something that wasn't the typical Domino's, Pizza Hut, or Papa John's. So I decided to order two pizzas. I ordered Chicken Alfredo and the Vegetarian with sausage with 3 garlic dipping sauces. It took them 45 minutes to an hour to deliver it to our condo and it wasn't a big deal. We figured it would take them awhile since we live on Warner. The pizza came and we tipped the guy, and then we opened our pizza boxes.... The Chicken Alfredo was okay, very bland and tasteless. Our order of the Vegetarian with sausage had no sausage and the toppings slide right off the pizza. They also forgot our 3 garlic sauces! I called them back irritated and they weren't very friendly when I told them the story. They actually did not believe me and asked if I dropped it myself. WOW what a dick. They took ANOTHER HOUR to deliver another one. This time it was correct but they still forgot the 3 garlic sauces.... I'm never ordering from them again.

Gina's pizzas have an abundance of toppings which are high in quality and definitely tasty. Although I'm not a huge fan of all-meat pizzas, I know a lot of people who really like their Godfather pizza. Their cheese is good, but not cooked quite enough for my tastes. I like my cheese baked into a nice golden brown color, and sometimes the abundance of toppings can prevent this from happening. Their crust is not really to my liking either. It's not NY-style thin nor Chicago-style thick -- it's somewhere in between in such a way that the edges and surface have a slight crispness, but the inside is too doughy. Gina's is good if you care more about toppings than the crust and cheese.

My friends and I watched one of the NBA games at this place and I gotta say it's a lotta fun to do so and would serve as a slightly, but only ever so slightly, calmer alternative to a sports bar. Food: The food is really really good!! Of course this is "fast food", so you can't expect a filet mignon on your pizza...but you can customize your pizza and all of the ingredients are always fresh and tasty :) The pizzas are really good and nicely portioned so they'll definitely fill you up. The buffalo wings are also really good too. Crisp and flavorful but not too oily. The sweet potato fries and the "herbed-something-parmesan-or other fries" are also pretty good, but finish them while they're hot! My friends also ordered a pitcher of beer and the waiter was SUPER nice! Service: Not only did our waiter give them a pitcher a beer, all of the glasses came already filled so they definitely got their money's worth on the beer :) He was very accommodating and brought everything we asked for quickly and always with a smile that never seemed to be fake. Ambiance: I've only eaten in the restaurant once because usually I just order online which is really convenient when I feel lazy. Oh and they deliver!!! you can just order online and have it delivered if you live close enough and it STILL tastes better than any fast food pizza you're used to. It was really exciting to eat there because of the NBA game that was on. Otherwise, it's not a quiet place to eat, so if you're looking for someplace romantic this might not be it. But it's definitely a nice place to eat, especially with family or friends. They also have outdoor seating which is really clean and seems to be quieter than it is inside. The waiters don't seem to neglect you if you're seated outside as well because I saw waiters constantly going in and out from the outdoor seating area. Overall, I would most definitely come back again! It's not pizza hut-priced but you pay for the quality :) You definitely get your money's worth.

I love this place! You can basically make your own pizza in any way that you can think of, and it comes out tasting great everytime. The cheese-bread and garlic bread is delish too. The pasta leaves a little to be desired, but hey, if you like simple, its for you. ...Not to mention it IS one of the few places in irvine with a bar.

I can't believe I haven't written a review about this place yet. I frequent Gina's for lunch and think you should too! I usually order their 1/2 sandwich/salad lunch special which also comes with a drink for about $8. My favorite is their pastrami sandwich. The bread is toasted perfectly and there's just the perfect amount of meat, pickles, cheese, mustard...it's wonderful. The salad is also always fresh, and it comes with chickpeas (yum!), tomatoes, and red onions on a bed of romaine lettuce. Delicious!

I have some friends visiting from out of town and they were craving pizza. They wanted a nice sit down place. I told them about Gina's Pizza. The pizza here is good. We ordered the Godfather. If you are a meat-lover, this is really good stuff. The serving size is good as well. You get your money's worth. On a very good, sunny day, you may want to eat out in the patio. It is spacious and layout is very nice. Overall, I would recommend people to come here and eat. I will write more later about their sandwiches and pasta. Trivia: This location used to be Chicago Chicago pizza back in the 1990s.

This place is a good neighborhood hang out that's typically a mix of young "Irvine-ite" families and UCI coeds. The pizza is good but I wouldn't call it special. Their fries are great to munch on and they serve ice cold beer on tap. Even though seating is limited, Gina's is a good place to meet up with friends for pizza and beer for a game on TV.

Solid, good ingredients and generally very good Italian food. I recommend the caprese salad with thick slices of mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and choose the balsamic dressing. I tried the pizza which is also good, and the calzones are solid as well. Online ordering and delivery is a plus, highly recommended.

Gina's. It's not bad. It's not great. It's different. The center of the pizzas could get soggy after a few minutes. I don't know why. It just happens frequently to me. I've got to try that Works Supremo Pastrami sandwich the last commenter wrote about. Maybe it'll make me boot it up to a 4 star. One last thing. It does feel kinda awkward in there. Maybe it's just me.

I get crazy cravings for their garlic bread sometimes. I have NO IDEA why - they must have crack in it haha. It's great! Also try to eggplant parmesean sandwich and meatball sandwich. Both are great and at a good price for a poor college student - which I fondly remember from my UC Irvine days.

I can't say much about their pasta - pasta is pasta. But their house special pizza is good if you can't decide what to get or are unfamiliar with the menu. I like this place especially because it is very uc irvine (my alma mater) friendly. I can count on them to show our televised games.

We went here last night for pizza & beer. Pizza - we got the Godfather (meat lovers). It was so loaded with meat, cheese, and grease that the server almost dropped it by mistake. Ok not really, he was just off a bit. It's not New York style, Chicago style, just friggin overloaded California pizza. But it was okay. Definitely good if you like to eat lots. It's no Albano's though (RIP). Beer - good selection of drafts. Honestly, I'm probably giving this place three stars because they pull Guinness, otherwise I might be in the two star range.

Honestly their pizza here isn't that great. The crust is too thick and chewy in terms of the dough. The taste is a bit bland as well. Get the meat lover's at least because theres some flavor to that. Their sandiwches are alright here though. If I had a choice I'd eat the sandwiches here even though they're kinda expensive too. I'd come here every now and then with my fraternity brothers and drink pitchers in the patio. The thing is its still cold outside for some reason, even on a warm summer day. At least ther service was good, and they bring the food to you. It caters to the UCI community, so expect to see a good amount of people at night. I've had better experiences with pizza though. Try going to Lamppost instead.

This place is yummy! The first time I ate here I didn't feel so great bc the food was super heavy, but alas I went back. I love the pesto pizza! It's amazing and delcious. It's a little pricey for pizza, but good if you want something that is fast.

Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza. The sauce was bland and the chicken dry. The crust was thick and rather chewy. Can't comment on service, but the cashier was very nice.

I have to say that gina's pizza is just mediocre for the pizza that they offer. I do love pizza very much but gina's just does not cut it. Their pepperoni pizza did not have enough pepperoni or cheese and I felt like the crust just almost chewing on a soft rock! I don't think I will be coming back here any time soon for pizza. It is just okay pizza and not all the greatest in all of uc irvine

Ok. We were all too tired and lazy to cook. Period. Oh yeah. But we could definately get on line, find the menu and pick up the phone and order to go and drive 10-15 minutes to Gina's and pick up our Maui Mama, the Godfather and a Antipasto Sicilian Chicken. Drive back and proceed to stuff our faces. It was definately better the 2nd tome around.

I've been here twice now. The first time we went, they messed up our order completely. Got something entirely different than what we wanted and were charged $10 extra for some reason. I pointed it out to them as soon as we paid for it, but the guy didn't know how to fix it on the register so he just gave us a coupon for a free large 5-topping pizza instead of replacing our messed up medium 2-topping pizza. I originally meant to come home after this and write up a 5-star review for the great customer service! And then I went back... Cashed in our coupon for our 5-topping pizza and sat there, waiting excitedly for our large pizza with basil, olives, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, and roasted garlic. Got our pizza and it was a cheese pizza with just a few artichoke hearts sprinkled on top of it. We returned it (complete with our receipt that clearly stated our order on it) and asked if they could just add the remaining toppings real quick, we didn't need them baked on or anything. Got out pizza back like 10 minutes later and they had added a few olives. Returned it once more and they sprinkled on some dry basil flakes from the counter and gave it back to us. Granted it was a free pizza so they probably didn't care too much about our order, but at least they could've faked it?? The flavor was okay, nothing special, but better than Domino's, Little Caesar's, etc. Still probably not worth the price nor the hassle of getting the order right, though.

The area right around UCI is bizarrely lacking good food places. Gina's is one place that does fill the gap. I agree with whoever said this is a place for groups of people. I have had many fun nights here with 5 tables pushed together outside on the patio. The pizza is pretty good. Surprisingly the vegetarian is my fave. The eggplant on it is crazy delicious. But the best thing here to me is the manicotti. I would definitely recommend this place for a dinner with friends. Not so much a date or nice dinner kind of place.

the good: very nice atmosphere, old school pizza ovens, great beers on tap, & a good place to hang out on college (thursday) nights. the bad: how can you fuck up a cheese pizza? i guess these fools did. the bread is thicker than a hockey puck. if a hockey puck tasted like anything, i'd say it's this dry, thick ass piece of concrete they call bread. the sauce was SUPER light; it didn't compensate for the amount of dough. the cheese was alright. not enough char on the bread. & the ugly: one of the few places that i would choose la pizza loca, little caesars, pizza hut or dominos over.

Huge disappointment. My boyfriend and I were visiting out of town and were staying at the Hyatt. We decided to order in and I from yelping I saw that this was a local favorite and they delivered. The food came earlier than expected which was great, but the guy on the phone sounded pissed off the entire time. We ordered two fettuccine Alfredo, one ceaser salad a 2 liter coke and some cheesy breadsticks. Our fettuccine alfredo was way too greasy, but obviously still edible (i barely ate half). The salad which was supposed to be an individual salad was very tiny. It was nothing but lettuce and Parmesan shreds. Instead of our 2 liter coke (which we paid for) we got a small can of coke, thanks a lot for that. The only thing that was okay was the cheesy bread and their marinara sauce. The sauce is the best I've ever tried , but certainly won't be making me come back for more. Very disappointing. My bill was like 45 bucks and I barely got anything. I could have spent the same amount of money at Olive Garden and gotten much more. Ridiculous.

The thing about Gina's is that you have to come with a group. Don't do that, and things just aren't the same. The times I've been here with just a couple of people have been swell and all, but once you get a pitcher of beer going and get a bit tanked and start laughing with your friends...well, that makes the food taste all the better. But I guess you can say that about most places. I'd personally recommend coming here during the summer, when it's less crowded; that makes sitting outside really nice, especially when it's night time and cooler out. As far as the food goes, of the three pizza's I've had here the best is house special, though I like it without the red onion. After that, the pesto is great, as a few other people have mentioned. I also tried the barbeque chicken pizza and was just not impressed at all. I also am not a fan of their salads - most of their dressings are just plain and almost bland. The balsamic one is alright. I have not had a chance to sample the other wares here, like the pastas and sandwiches, so their review is semi-incomplete. But pizza is probably what you're coming here for anyway, right? So yeah. Get a group of buddies, get tanked, laugh, eat the house special pizza. The end.

I haven't been here since 2007 but I must say the two times I ordered a Godfather pizza I was never so happy to have a potential heart attack. It was totally worth it! The Godfather pizza is the ultimate meat lovers pizza and I will say it's the best meat lover's pizza I've ever had! Now, that I've got three El Camino College buddies transferring to UC Irvine I have an excuse to visit them and take them here for some Godfather pizza! I hope the deliciously high standard hasn't changed!

For $12 for a small pizza, the burn I had on the roof of my mouth from diving in too quickly confirms my sin for gluttony that day. The chicken Alfredo pizza was too good. It's even better cold or eaten reheated the next day. Delicious.

  • Tin-Tin M.

I don't know if their pizza is really pizza. It's good, but it's such a thick crust that it's more like a focaccia with cheese and toppings.

Great place to go to have a couple beers, eat some pizza, and watch some tv :)

  • Lauren G.

The food deserves 3 stars, its good pizza (much better than pizza hut), but nothing innovative or out of this world good. Can be very crowded if a large group happens to be dining, but you can usually snag a seat on the patio.

My UCI friend took me out to lunch here when I came to visit. Good amount of food for the price. Pizza was average. Nothing too special, but still good. Sweet potato fries also the same. Seemed fairly busy when we were here. Service was good. Nice atmosphere to the place. Seems like a good hang out place.

  • Gabe K.

I came here for a lunch special twice consistenting of a slice, salad and a drink. The salad was fresh and the Italian dressing was very good, as was the service. However, my pizza was soft and doughy on the inside BOTH times like it was undercooked. I only want my dough undercooked if I am baking cookies!

  • David L.

Ambience is great, outdoor patio is nice, and they have great beers on tap (Sierra Nevada, Guinness). However honestly, their pizza is very very very average. I actually got a slice the other day and I felt like I was eating a pizza which my mom could make at home in the oven. And god, it was 3.75 a slice which is ridiculous and I had to wait 10 minutes for them to make it from scratch (although that may also be on the plus side) Also I remember ordering an alfredo pasta dish and it was really small from what I recall. Go to Ray's for the pizza-- go to Gina's for the enviroment and with friends

Very nervous to order delivery from here due to some not so good yelp reviews at this location and the CDM location. We were pleseantly surprised. They said our order would be delivered in 45min-60 min. It didn't even take that long! The pizza was great! We ordered the hawaiin which had big yummy chunks of pineapple on it!

Our family loves this place. The beer selection is awesome with their rotating handles of craft beers. Pizza is always good. Great mom and pop local pizza joint. And you can go to Stricklands for ice cream after ;) We come here at least twice a month!

Second visit, decided to try the pizza. GREAT choice. Got the Godfather style. As evidenced by my prior visit, they know how to put ingredients together. Came here a little late, right at 10PM (when the kitchen closes) but they allowed me to get the order in anyway. Had some local craft beers. This is always going to be my spot when I come into town from now on. Didn't get to see Ryan or Shelby but got excellent, friendly service from Taylor!

So I came here today for the first time only because I had a get one get one free coupon. Also I noticed it had almost 4 stars and from some of the feedback it seemed people loooved this place, etc, etc. so I figured I'll give it a try it can't be that bad right? Wrong! I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo dish with chicken and garlic bread and to go i got a pesto pasta dish also with chicken and garlic bread. Well, to start with the chicken was totally tasteless and the fettuccine Alfredo was almost as tasteless. I expect my second dish will be the same. Then, on one of the comments here on Yelp someone swore up and now about the garlic bread and mentioned it to be a must try. Seriously? Clearly that person would probably consider a burnt and dried unseasoned steak a must try too because just like my food it was nothing to brag about. The only good about this place is the patio which is kindda cool to chill and kick back a little. Will I come back here? Doubtful but if I did I'd order their pizza instead. Can't screw pizza up too much or can you?

Crust was dry and toppings generic. We would never recommend the pizza. Their antipasto was really good though and the delivery guy was extremely friendly and professional. Pizza and salad ran us $40. We felt a little robbed lol especially when the quality of the pie was a bore.

The remodeled interior looks great! New floors, new seating inside and out: what an upgrade! You can't beat the beer selection, with 16 taps in constant rotation. Steve, Wade, Ricky and the rest of the Gina's crew will take care of all of your needs from dine-in, parties, delivery and catering. My wife and I shared the burger and the chicken pesto sandwich last time, while the kids had pasta salad with turkey, avocado and cheese. We also added sweet potato fries with garlic aioli.

Best pizza ever so delicious and yummy, and the buffalo wings my son ordered were awesome. The staff were so nice and helpful. We visited the place for the first time today and we loved it. I think I'm gonna start coming here more often all the food looks great. I feel like wanna try everything we're definitely coming back very soon to try different things from the menu. I really recommend this place to all the pizza lover and to everyone for sure.

This place still doesn't seem to impress me that much. I do love their beer selection, and the fact their patio is dog friendly. But there's something weird about their food, and I'm not sure how to pin point it. We had the pitcher of dudes' grandma pecan...it was because of the name we ordered it. Usually I hate dark beers but this wonderfully brewed Torrence, CA brewed awesomeness hit the spot. The appetizers we had, wings, cheesy garlic bread, and mozzarella sticks were just meh. Nothing to rave about unfortunately. But they were 1/2 off during happy hour.

I've been here a couple of times, before you could go with your friends, sit on the tables and the waitress would come to take your order and you could pay after all. Last time I went there it was different, they changed the layout, and the staff was different too. The pizza is good, my favorites are Bianca and Maui Mamma, pretty good. Comparing to other places of pizza that I've been they have a lot of topping, which is great! The place is ok, the food is good, and the service is fine.

I go here atleast once a year when I have to go back and visit the youngsters at uci.. and i still enjoy it everytime. service isn't bad. food is good (pastas, pizza, garlic bread).. but I especially love that I can get pitchers of beer on tap. most people know there's not alot of bars near uci so this is a good place to quench your thirst nearby.

We brought a group -- a team of 20 high school lacrosse players and 15 parents -- on a Saturday night at 6, having called the day before. While they could only do a reservation for the team, the pre-order was hot and ready and the seating outside was perfect. The bar area accommodated all the parents, the food was great quality, and served promptly. The waiter nudged us towards happy hour before it ended and Debbie and everyone was polite and very helpful. A great group experience after a long day in the sun at a tournament.

Second time having an amazing experience at ginas! Me and my girl friends came and the place was freshly renovated. Its beautiful with outside heaters, candles, lights, and even a bench with a pillow to sit on! Food was updated and amazing. Service was also great, i had a free drink coupon from my last review and used it and the server ryan at the counter gave me and each of my girlfriends a free drink as well. How nice! He was very polite, great service.

BOMB!!!!! we live out in Whittier and drive all the way to Irvine just to get a pastrami and a ginormous piece of pizza. my uncle went to UC Irvine years ago and he was the one who introduced us to this place and my god bless him! lol i am not usually a fan of pastrami and i had never ate it because it just looked disgusting to me. well let me tell you all, the pastrami here at Gina's is TO DIE FOR! my finace always gets the full pastrami and i get the big slice of pizza. the pizza is good and so are the Parmesan fries we do not mind having to make the drive all the way out here because the food is just great and worth it!

The good here is great. I have been coming here since 2007 and I have never gotten an order wrong. As a new comer you have to know the busy times to avoid. The high school had lunch hour at 1..so from 1-2:30 it'll be packed. Weekend nights will be busy to from UCI, so I suggest calling ahead and taking out The employees are always nice and dien to earth. It's nice to talk to one of them while a pizza is being made. You should expect to wait about 15-25 minutes for your pizza depending on how busy they are.

I had a hard time getting service when I stopped in after the lunch rush the other day. I was ignored for a couple minutes and then they acted like I was a nuisance. The pizza was okay, but it isn't my favorite style. I'll probably head somewhere else next time I'm looking for a slice!

I haven't been to Gina's for a year because I live out of town but was surprised to see that they remodeled and it looks great. Best part, though, is that the food and service continue to be excellent. I will be coming back as much as possible this summer!

Gina's Pizza & Pasteria OC: Irvine 2pm Tuesday 22th April 2014 Three and Half Stars I have eaten all around UC Irvine but somehow I missed this little Italian place. You order at the counter and then they bring you your food. I had the Dinner Portion Chicken Parmesan with Meat Sauce and Traditional Garlic Bread ($11.49). The Chicken was soggy which probably means that it was pre-cooked and reheated. The sauce was good, very tomato forward with a nice acid. The Penne Pasta was unseasoned but still edible. The garlic bread was awesome- buttery, crispy, and packed full with flavor. The server dropped a quarter piece of my garlic bread and then he brought me another whole another loaf. The service was great. The food was good in places. Overall, not a bad place to grab a bite.

This is the worst Gina's pizza mostly because the service is terrible. The food like all Gina's is great however the food is not worth bad service. This is especially true when there are many other great places around to eat. This place seems to have a probelm getting an order right it has happened to me several times. I am ok if they make a mistake on my order, I know stuff happens. What I am not ok with is being treated like I am an idiot and a jerk for bringing up their mistake. I will say they do always correct the mistake but the dirty looks and the attitude is not worth getting what you ordered. Avoid this place at all costs. The last time I was there was 2/5/15 I was told I would be contacted about it of course nothing just avoid this place.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
